San Andreas Fault In California
San Andreas fault in California
The San Andreas fault line is one of the most notorious faults in the world where it lies approximately
1,287 km long in California, USA. Fault lines are cracks in the Earths surface, where earthquakes
usually occur.
The San Andreas fault in California is a transform boundary which means the tectonic plates grind
against each other slowly building up tension through friction then one day they ll slip causing an
earthquake to occur.
Since the San Andreas fault is a transform boundary, earthquakes occur along its fault which will
affect California and anywhere that the strength of the earthquake can reach making the fault a seismic
hazard to those who live there. The San Andreas fault is home to thousands of

The Effects Of Cyber Attacks On The Public Health
In the last decade there has been an almost exponential increase in the number, complexity and
sophistication of malicious software. The rate of occurrence of cyber attacks, the lighting fast speed of
dissemination, and the economic impact requires same level of attention and response as a pandemic
health crisis.
The technical solutions are addressing these serious concerns on the technological side but they do
little to reduce or eliminate cyber attacks from occurring in the first place. Also, they are more likely
to be viewed as fun challenges or opportunities to showcase cybercriminals technical skills.
Lastly, the enormous potential for financial gain from cybercrime and relative little legislature
regulations on a global scale, represents a very attractive opportunity for unscrupulous individuals.
The public health professionals have been very successful in implementing public health models to
prevent and combat disease spreading. As a result, many health indicators have improved drastically:
child mortality, maternal health, eradication or sizable reduction of a large number of infectious
diseases, etc.
The public health models are categorized in the three levels of action: primary preventions, secondary
prevention and tertiary prevention. Primary prevention focuses on the prevention or inhibition of the
risk factors for the population at risk. Secondary prevention focuses on the actions taken to slow down
the progress of the disease after the onset. Tertiary

Ataxic Dysarthria Case Study
According to Spencer and Slocomb (2007), Ataxic dysarthria is a result of damage to the cerebellum
and or cerebellar control circuit. Common etiologies of ataxic dysarthria include degenerative diseases
or vascular diseases resulting in lesions to the cerebellum or cranial nerves. An individual with
cerebellar damage will experience difficulties with motor functioning involving the ability to stand
and walk properly. Common motor signs resulting in ataxic dysarthria include a wide based gait and
limb, nystagmus, hypotonia and dysmetria. Deviant speech characteristics associated with ataxic
dysarthria include articulatory, phonatory and prosody difficulties. Speech may sound slurred while

According the article, Kim and Jo support the fact that musical elements may successfully be
implemented into speech therapy. This study consisted of six stroke patients with mixed dysarthria
over the course of 10 different sessions. Voice data was collected prior to the study by obtaining a
voice sample from each patient, and post test data was collected after completion 10 therapy sessions.
Maximum phonation time, fundamental frequency, voice intensity, jitter and shimmer, noise to
harmonic ratio and diodohkinetic rate are all measured within this protocol. The patients then
participated in the Accent based music speech protocol (AMSP). This protocol was designed with four
different stages where the patients were instructed to integrate musical elements into speech tasks. The
first stage consisted of warm up exercises (e.g., stretching arms and trunk) to prepare the patients for
the rest of the stages. The second stage involved respiratory training. During this training, the patients
participated in a variety of inhalation and exhalation exercises simultaneously to ascending and
descending melodies. Vocalization exercises followed the respiration exercises. During this task, the
patients were instructed to sing vowel combinations utilizing simple song melodies. The last stage
involved six different Korean melodic chants involving hand

Gomer And Hosea
The book of Hosea has to be one of the oddest books of the entire Bible to some. Who would have
ever thought that God would have asked his obedient and faithful prophet Hosea to go and take a
prostitute to be his wife? There is a common knowledge that God can use anything for His glory.
Therefore, as odd as Hosea and Gomer s story is, it is not exempt from glorifying God. God s love is
unfailing and unconditional for all of humanity and that was proven in and through the love story of
Hosea and Gomer. In this paper, I will cover God s peculiar instructions for Hosea, Hosea and Gomer
s story, Hosea s heartbreak, the state of Israel during this time, and God s unfailing love for Israel.
God s Peculiar Instructions for Hosea In Hosea 1:2, God gives Hosea instructions to go out and marry
an adulterous wife and have children of unfaithfulness. God told Hosea to do this because Israel is
guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the Lord. In the next verse, Hosea married Gomer, and
Gomer had three children back to back and God told Hosea to name them names that represented His
broken relationship with Israel (Hosea 1:4 8).
Hosea and Gomer s Love Story
After having her children, Gomer obviously wasn t satisfied with her life as wife and mother, and she
longed for her previous lifestyle before Hosea, as a prostitute ... Show more content on

The Israelites, like Gomer, had turned their backs on God. They, similar to Gomer, proved themselves
unfaithful to their commitment to God. Both Gomer and the Israelites resumed their old lifestyle
which did not honor God or obey his laws. Hosea mirrors the infallibility of God s love. He says in
Hosea 14:4: I will heal their backsliding. I will love them freely. Gomer did not deserve that kind of
forgiveness. Neither did the Israelites. God s love extends beyond the limits of humanity s sinful
humanity. He longs to bring us into a state of restoration with

My Life For Rebuilding 90 s Model Cars
My husband and I have a strong passion for rebuilding 90 s model cars such as civics, hatchbacks,
Acura s, Mitsubishi Eclipse s, Celica s, etc. We do two project cars a year, and have done so for the
past four years. We used to be able to find older vehicles that were still in good condition, the
upholstery was in good condition, and there wasn t much wrong mechanically. About two years ago
we started to notice the lack of maintenance and time people would actually put into their cars. From
experience, a car will not run if not properly taken care of and serviced in the correct time frame.
Normally when my husband and I get a vehicle we always start under the hood. First, check the oil.
Without oil, people run the risk of seizing and locking up the engine and then it becomes a lot more
expensive than just a few quarts of oil. Most people I have noticed, don t know how often to change
their oil. When using regular blend oil, it should be changed around every 3,500 miles. When
purchasing synthetic oil, which is used in most vehicles today drivers should change it around 7,000
miles. After checking the oil, we check the tire pressure to ensure the correct lbs. of pressure required
for the type of tires and vehicle we have. Other fluid levels to check include the coolant reservoir, anti
freeze levels, as well as transmission and brake fluid. Aside from fluids, when my husband would
perform a tune up on a vehicle new to us, he would also check the spark plugs and wires

Roof Replacement
Determining whether or not a home needs a new roof is not difficult. Homeowners simply have to
look for clues that alert them to issues. When it comes to Roof Replacement Ft Worth residents just
have to look for these clues, call in a professional company such as Greystone Roofing to check out
the roof. They can inspect the roof to see if an entire roof is needed, or if the roof that s on the roof can
be repaired.
Repair or replace
If a few shingles have blown off during a storm, or if there s a small leak in one area, replacing is an
economical option. It also makes the most sense. After all, why incur the expense of installing a new
roof if there are only a couple of shingles that need to be replaced.
In some cases one section of a roof may be damaged. Perhaps, a tree limb has fallen on an area of the
roof which resulted in damage to 1/4 of the roof. This is another time when repairing may be the more
favorable option. However, if the roof is older and will need replacing soon many homeowners opt for

However, this is far from the only sign. After storms, or windy days look around the property for
shingles that have blown off. Look at the roof and inspect it for signs of wear and tear. Look for rot,
mold, and mildew. Also check the gutters for pieces of shingles, or shingle dust. Take a good look at
how the shingles lay on the roof. Buckling shingles, or those that are curling are an indication that
they need to be replaced.

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Arthritis
The pain and associated symptoms related to gout can be quite severe although mild at the outset. The
following characteristics of the disease are utilized in the diagnosis and development of a treatment
strategy in the patient (Roberts, 2010; De Miguel et al., 2012):
1. Onset: pain and swelling can occur rapidly with little prior indication but mostly in the middle of
the night
2. Location: the pain and swelling associated with gout occurs most often in the hallux or big toe
(podagra) but also commonly appears in the ankle areas, knees, elbows and wrists
3. Duration: the flare ups of acute pain associated with gout may last hours, days or weeks in
advanced cases
4. Characteristics: pain is usually acute and sharp in character
5. Aggravating factors: cold weather, comorbidities such as rheumatoid arthritis
6. Relieving factors: application of heat pads, changes in diet
7. Treatment: NSAIDS, corticosteroids, colchicine, uricosurics, xanthine oxidase inhibitors,
pegloticase
Differential Diagnosis Multiple different diagnoses can be mistaken for gout disease or, alternatively,
that can complicate the diagnosis of gout. The most common of these differential diagnoses involve
the development of crystallization in the patient s articulated areas or joints. These various differential
diagnoses are detailed in the next section:
1. Pseudo gout disease: this occurs when calcium pyrophosphate dehydrates (CPPD) accumulates in
the patient s blood serum which leads to crystallization in

Government Is An Instrument Of The State Essay
At times confuse is made among state and Government and the two words are used on the other hand.
Government is an instrument of the state through which it does its inspirations. A state, as we have
seen, is a politically dealt with and geographically obliged collection of people that has the benefit to
use constrain. It is a reasonable substance in this manner ought to have an instrument through which to
work. Government is such an instrument. Each one of the nationals of a state are not part of a
government (Shobeiri, S. M. 2007). It s Forms: Governments may take a couple of structures. In
history, there have appeared to be many sorts of government. Aristotle had given a six wrinkle
portrayal of governments three standard and three degraded sorts of government. The three common
sorts of government will be government, control by one individual; advantaged, led by a couple;
nation, oversee by various. In case these ordinary structures are contorted, government gets the
opportunity to be persecution, nobility gets the chance to be religious government and country gets the
chance to be vote based framework. Political Parties: Political social affairs have ended up being vital
associates of government in present day times. They are the instruments whereby hopefuls are doled
out and picked. Notwithstanding the way that they are not official affiliations made by the state, they
are before long, semiofficial as in states underwrite, guide and permit them to offer contender

Consumer s Perception of a Brand Image Incredibly Relevant
CHANGE THEIR PERCEPTION
Consumer s perception of a brand image such as Microsoft is incredibly relevant in terms of a positive
perception on a brand leads on to a positive perception of a product and therefore, Microsoft can
successful market to students. Currently consumers main perception on Windows 8 directly correlates
to their perception on Microsoft, and at the moment it is not as strong as their competitors brand
perception and culture.
Microsoft has to successfully alter their perception to not only be a positive perception, but a
perception of Microsoft that is superior to competitors such as Apple and Google. Microsoft has to

Students have the need to blend in and stand out at the same time, they want to be fashion forward and
knowledgeable it is up to Microsoft to persuade their target market that Microsoft is modern and
fashion forward. Engaging generation Y will increase a consumer s perception regarding Windows 8
and can make it feel personally relevant to them.
MOTIVATION IS KEY
In order to successfully market Windows 8, Microsoft has to motivate students to make the effort to be
interested in Microsoft. Lyengar and Lepper (2000) point out that a lack of motivation can cause
consumers to either defer the decision, search for alternatives, choose a default option or simply opt
not to choose. All of these options do not favour Microsoft in any way. Deferring the decision or not
making the decision at all reduces Microsoft s presence and exposure to the market because this
means that consumers are not willing to go that extra step to research Microsoft. Microsoft also does
not want consumers to opt for the default option, due to Apple s immense brand image and popularity,
especially to students Apple has become the protypical brand leader which only diminishes Microsoft
s perception with consumers. Motivation is highly affected from external competitors such as Apple s
iOS and Google s Android operating systems.
Microsoft should aim to create motivation for students and young consumers to become interested in
Windows 8 via university events. The open days are

The New World Of The United States
More so than that, Huntington was writing during a time when the United States was the world s only
military superpower which lead to the idea that America should take the lead in establishing the new
world order , one which would be dominated by the United States and their allies. Because of this,
American diplomats and officials were faced with regional, religious and ethnic conflicts that, as
Huntington argues, could not be easily solved. During this time the United States were making major
decisions about the layout and status of the new world order. It becomes clear that Huntington would
believe future conflicts would arise from cultural differences due to previous cultural clashes and that
the most powerful country in the world, the United States, was also unable to create solutions for
conflicts fueled by cultural differences.
There are also smaller factors that could have had an impact on Huntington s outlook and thesis. In
1992 Patrick Buchanan was campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination when he warned
that the country was undergoing the greatest invasion in its history, a migration of millions of illegal
aliens a year from Mexico. An influx of immigrants, who bring their culture, customs and religion
with them, could begin to create a clash in Huntington s own country. Living in a time when the
political discourse revolves around anti immigration helps Huntington to argue that civilizations will
clash along cultural lines. If immigrants with

Ever Since People Started Walking The Earth, They Used
Ever since people started walking the earth, they used different items found in nature known as
symbols to represent various meanings. Over time people passed down these symbols to the next
generation; they either get altered because of the progression of time, or new ones form as a result of
this progression. Today objects have different meaning to different people because of the changes
made throughout history. In his novel, The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown reveals to his audience that
objects such as art, literature, people, and sciences could be viewed in multiple perspectives. In The
Da Vinci Code, art is viewed differently by careful examination of details revealing the messages
behind it. Leonardo Da Vinci s paintings are examples ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only are the visual arts important, the use of film moreover elevates the idea of objects seen in
different points of view. Popular Disney movies for example appeal to the young generations, but
there is more background information than children see on television. Snow White alludes to the Bible
story of Adam and Eve; the Little Mermaid used symbols from Isis, Eve, Pisces, and Mary Magdalene
(Brown 282 283). Films and artwork seen from an innocent mind are not always accredited for their
talent of mixing history with fiction. While the fine arts are significant to proving the point of objects
seen in different perspectives, literature also impacts this idea. During the course of the novel, Brown
use different works of literature to demonstrate the fact that the world has to be viewed in different
angles. An example of how Brown uses literature is Shakespeare s plays. Shakespeare is well known
for his plays such as A Midsummer Night s Dream, The Merchant of Venice, and Romeo and Juliet,
but he also known for his use of the meter, iambic pentameter. For centuries, iambic pentameter had
been a preferred poetic meter of outspoken literati across the globe, from the ancient Greek writer
Archilochus to Shakespeare, Milton, Chaucer, and Voltaire bold souls who chose to write their social
commentaries in a meter that many of the day believed had mystical properties. (Shakespeare in The
Da Vinci Code. Shakespeare Newsletter). Iambic pentameter also relates to the

The Autobiography of Malcom X as Told to Alex Haley Essay
Statement of Purpose
Alex Haley is the author of the book. The central theme of the book is to reflect the perspective of a
black man in an era that called for equality struggles between races in the United States while battling
views on racism and his rise and fall within the Nation of Islam religion.
The author s purpose for writing the book was for the reader to gain knowledge of Malcolm X as an
individual and not as a phenomenon. He wanted to deliver truths that spanned his brief lifetime.
Alex Haley s qualifications to write the book were simply that he was a black man in America during
the same time span as Malcolm X and his earlier work had focused on the struggles of African
Americans in the United States in particular. Haley ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

uncovered regarding the Honorable Elijah Mohammad s human frailties and lack of moral character.
This revelation prompted a holy journey that yet again changed Malcolm s thought process that was
evident at the end of his life.
Critique
This autobiography of Malcolm X was spellbinding. The fascinating persona of this man was
phenomenal. As he describes his education in one part of the book, Gentlemen, I finished the eighth
grade in Mason, Michigan. My high school was the black ghetto of Roxbury,
Massachusetts. My college was in the streets of Harlem, and my master s was taken in prison is just
amazing. This book did not contain any illustrations, pictures, or tables. The author was extremely
descriptive in telling the story. His writing style made the reader to become a part of the story telling
experience. I could visualize the experiences and places that were included in the book. For example,
when he told about the conking of his hair, how it felt when his scalp was burning, although it was a
painful experience, it was humorous to me as a reader. I could imagine the lindy hopping dances he
talked about. How he would whirl them around,

with me on how good the graphics were, was the craziness maintained on the looks of the Joker at the
scene where he arrived at Barbara s house to shoot her, dressed in a multicolored Hawaiian tee shirt,
shorts, a manual switch film camera and a revolver. I think all these effects were put to good use in
designing the image of the Joker on showing how twisted he got after his extraordinary transformation

The ending of the movie leaves viewers asking questions on what really happened after the shared

My Favorite Memories Of Reading
Don t be concerned, but my mom is suffering from tsundoku. Tsundoku is a Japanese word used to
describe the stock piling of books that you will never read. As long as I can remember my mom has
been bringing home heaps of books from anywhere she can get them. Last year, she came home from
the local library book sale with six bags of books. Yes, she loves to read, but she has not read any of
those books in the past year. Waiting to be shelved, most of them continue to sit on our basement floor,
collecting dust. This habit of my moms annoys me; nevertheless, I am very thankful she loves to read
and has passed on a portion of that love to me. Books play a major part in my life from memories of
being read to when I was little, reading books I hated in school, and falling in love with the characters
of a breathtaking novel. The importance of reading in my life goes all the way back to my childhood.
In fact, one of my favorite memories of reading, comes from my childhood. My sister and I loved the
book Green Eggs and Ham, by Dr.Seuss; more than that, we loved the funny voice our dad would use
when he read it. We would beg him every night to read us that book, and he always did. It was not
until years later I realized that he was not as fond of the book as we were. To this day I believe that my
love of reading came from those positive experiences as a child, and believe that every parent should

neutral with chronic use and also does not increase the risk of hypoglycemia. There may be some
cardiovascular benefits from this drug but there is no strong clinical trial data (Inzucchi et al. 2012).
As shown in the figure 1, after lifestyle changes and using metformin, if the patient s A1C is greater
than 7, then sulfonylurea which is least expensive and also the oldest oral agent class which stimulates
insulin release by closing the ATP sensitive potassium channels on B cells (Ashcroft 2005).
Thiazolidinediones (TZDs) are peroxisome proliferator activated receptor γ activators that improve
insulin sensitivity in skeletal muscle and reduce hepatic glucose production. They do not increase the
risk of hypoglycemia but also more effective than sulfonylureas and metformin (Khan, St.peter Xue
2002). Pioglitazone appeared to have a modest benefit on cardiovascular events as a secondary
outcome in one large trial involving patients with overt macrovascular disease. But researchers
revealed in a study that there are possible risks for bladder cancer by using pioglitazone (Lewis et al.
2011). There are also some sides effects like weight gain, failure of heart, bone fractures associated
with the use of TZDs (Dormandy et al.

Edward Bloor Identity Analysis
One of the major themes of the novel is Identity. I claim that Paul is struggling with how he is, and his
eyesight, which is his identity overall. Edward Bloor has developed the theme all over the story, and it
s seen in his characters, flashbacks, etc. This theme plays an important role overall in Paul s quest in
trying to grasp strength, and courage. The following are evidence, and commentary of how the theme
has been developed over the two parts.
We first get to see the first evidence of the theme in the first few pages. Edward Bloor used allegory,
and symbolism to represent Paul s past, and for Paul he refers it as a zombie since he didn t quite
know about it yet. Paul refers his past as a zombie since he can t put it to a rest nor ... Show more

Though the flashbacks aren t in order, we got to see how Paul was in the past, and his commentary in
the present. When Paul was testing out his peripheral vision, Erik sneaked up behind him, and scared
him, which reminded Paul that was one of the very first times he saw Erik s true nature. When Paul
was in kindergarten, while waiting for the bus stop, he was made fun of, and explained that the eclipse
was the cause, but in the present he is questioning himself if that was really the cause. I think the
flashbacks were better to include since it heightened our understanding of the theme.
Another piece of evidence took place at Tangerine Middle. On Paul s first day, when his tour guide
asked about his vision, he hesitated, and replied I don t know . Edward Bloor again developed the
theme by showing Paul s struggle. Afterwards, Paul was starting to question himself, and that s when
the theme starts to develop even faster. I think that this question was a good way to start transitioning
the whole story.
Overall, I think Edward Bloor did a good job developing the Identity theme all over part two. Bloor
used figurative language to help the reader relate, and maybe understand to Paul s problem better.
Bloor putting in flashbacks was a good way to heighten our understanding. Lastly, using that question
to transition Paul s character was

The Evolution Of Quality Management
I always enjoy reading about the history of something because it tends to show you the evolution of it.
In this case, the evolution of Quality is there. In the definition of quality in Chapter 2, Feigenbaum and
Crosby both state what they think is the contributing part of quality. Feigenbaum believes that meeting
the customers expectations is the key, while Crosby feels that if you put an impeccable product out,
then that s quality. However, Goetsch and Davis define a hybrid version of Feigenbaum and Crosby s
thoughts on Quality, which incorporate the constant change that is the customer. The customer is the
driving force that makes business produce goods and services. Each era in the history of quality has its
place. Lessons learned along the way have shaped where we are today Quality Management. In the
craftsmanship era, businesses had relationships with their small town customers who produced small
scale personable products or services that could be shared word of mouth. In order to take quality
business into the future there had to be major changes if companies were going to be able to produce
quality on the global scale. Quality managers tried everything from getting the employees to believe in
their work, receive awards, and incentives to do more with less. The history of Quality Management
has driven goods and services to be great, and change with the customers expectations which continue
changing.

North And South Similarities
North and South had many differences but they also have similarities. While the South had their
booming agricultural business the North had many industries. But these two actually helped each other
their businesses they correlated. The agricultural business needed things to be shipped so the North
helped with that.
The similarities are few but there is still some. Both of the North and South states were very racist
they both did not accept African American as a citizen. They also had an equal number of states. Also
as I said in the top they had industries with cotton. The North had industries that would take in cotton
and produces it as clothes. The South would harvest it and send it to the North. But there are many

Stereotyping In Los Vendidos By Luis Valdez
Are you really looking at what your seeing? In Luis Valdez s short play Los Vendidos, it is clear that
there was a stereotyping issue as well as symbolism throughout his play. I have analyzed his symbolic
demonstrations on how Mexicans are labeled and how stereotyping affects the way Americans view
Mexicans. In an article by an anonymous writer titled Los Vendidos , Luis Valdez: Using stereotypes
to end racism, there was a quote stating, Theater as a weapon , Valdez used theater as a weapon to
attempt to highlight latino stereotypes and their effects on society on those stereotypes. Valdez was the
second born out of 10 brothers and sisters. At the age of six he began working in the fields with his
parents. Valdez began writing plays to express his lifestyle and his family s life style when he was
growing up. When he attending school he noticed that in all the school book, only whites and
Europeans were mentioned in the United States. Although Hispanics are well ... Show more content on

Spina Bifida Disorder
Spina Bifida Spina Bifida literally means split spine . It is the most common permanent disabling birth
defect in the United States. It happens when the brain, spinal cord do not completely develop. It is the
most common neural tube defect in the United States affecting 1500 to 2000 of more than four million
babies in each year. An estimate shows 166,000 individual lives with Spina Bifida in the United
States. I choose this disorder because many people do not about the effects, causes, symptoms and

bifida with black population, but not within the white or Hispanic population. Those frequencies about
spina bifida had been evaluated toward 1 2 cases for every 1000 population, with certain population

1984 Totalitarianism Essay
George Orwell wrote and published the novel 1984 after World War I and II. These two main wars
gave Orwell a good look at fascist states, totalitarian governments and the destruction that this state
can create in a country. The main goal of the novel 1984 by George Orwell is to show that totalitarian
governments is not the best type of government because it limits freedom and individuality in its
citizens. The main goal of writing the novel 1984 was to warn the future generations of the dangers of
totalitarian states and the threats it poses to society. George Orwell wanted to warn others of
totalitarianism and the dangers that come with it because he went through both of the World Wars and
saw what would happen to society if enemy forces took over. Orwell had socialist views and those
opinions were portrayed thought out his novels (Philips, 77). He believed that there should be

Nosocomial Infection Prevention Essay
Nosocomial Infections and Prevention Tactics
According to Fox et al. (2015), an estimated 2.5 million hospital acquired infections (HAIs) occur
annually in the United States (p. 217). It is bad enough that these preventable infections happen at all.
Yet, the fact that there are 90,000 preventable patient deaths not to mention the cost of dealing with
these infections is more than $4.5 billion annually indicates the major dilemma facing both patients
and healthcare workers (Fox et al., 2015, p. 217). The goal of this paper is to help nurses identify not
only risk factors, but also understand what pathogens they are up against and use this information
along with prevention tactics to help avoid further sickness and death of patients ... Show more

These numbers illustrate for patients as well as caregivers the vast amount of people and families that
are coping with hospital associated illness. However, caregivers are challenged with how to remedy
this unbroken chain of infection.
Chain of Infection
The chain of infection is the phrase used to describe the process by which infection can spread from
one susceptible individual to another (Weston, 2013, p. 120). The first part of the chain is the
causative organism which causes the infections mentioned (Weston, 2013). The reservoir, as the
second link, is the place where the pathogen lives which can be environmental, human or animal
(Weston, 2013, p. 120). The most common in a healthcare setting involve the environment as well as
human. The human body carries its own microflora and when the immune system is in good working
order no disease occurs. By contrast, when a body is immunocompromised, it is an open door for a
pathogen to come in and initiate disease. Having said that, the healthcare environment provides a
multitude of reservoirs if adherence to cleanliness is not made a priority (Weston, 2013). The
subsequent link in our chain includes the portals of entry, how bodies are infected, and portals of exit,
how the causative organism can leave the body to infect others (Weston, 2013). Finally, the
concluding link is our

Irving, like everyone, had several difficulties in his life. The first difficulty Irving had was about living
through a writing profession. During Irving s time in the early 19th century, writing wasn t a
profession in America that could be taken seriously for a living. (Hedges) America s publications were
too small (Washington), foreign publications that were imported to America were too cheap, and
American literature hadn t fully emerged yet. (Hedges) Irving was born just after the Revolutionary
War and the nation was just too young. (Dickstein) But Irving s financially dependent family firm, P.
E. Irving, went bankrupt in 1818 and he had to write for a living. (Washington) Another difficulty

Steptoe Valley Wildlife Management Case Study
Introduction
The Steptoe Valley Wildlife Management Area (SVWMA) is located immediately south of Ely, along
U.S. Highway 93/50 in White Pine County. The property consists of 6,426 acres and includes Comins
Lake, which is located about six miles south of Ely near the area headquarters. Nevada Department of
Wildlife (NDOW) has had a long term interest in the acquisition of this valuable property, dating back
to the 1980s. Ely community leaders, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF), and numerous other
partners worked together to make the purchase happen with NDOW s acquisition of the property in
1999. The property was established as the Steptoe Valley Wildlife Management Area in 2000. The area
surrounding SVWMA has a rich history of use by Native Americans and early explorers. For over 130
years, mining has played an important role in the economy of Ely. Ore was discovered on Ward

Catholic Marriage Vs Anglican Marriage
Marriage is the unification between a man and a woman, instituted and ordained by God, for the
lifelong relationship between one man as husband and one woman as a wife. This is what the ritual of
marriage means in Christian churches. Many people choose not to marry in the Christian church due
to the strict format you have to follow. However, based on my ethnographic results and research, there
are wide ranges of options where marriages in Catholic and Anglican religions can be adapted to,
however; it is directed by their Church authorities to a certain degree.
The introductory rites are similar in both Catholic and Anglican marriages, with some differences.
Catholics have two options on how they walk in. They can either walk down the aisle ... Show more

It is where a couple makes sacred promises to one another and consent to get married to that particular
person. Rings are also exchanged during this time. This richly symbolic action seals commitment to
one another. The giving of consent means you marry each other and that you make the promise to each
other to be ever loving and faithful and bear children. Vows can only be adapted slightly. This can be
the case of my interviewee who chose not to put the word obey in their vows. The vows were chosen
from guides or booklets where they can pick from a selection of marriage vows. In Anglican
weddings, the consent is asked by the celebrant, addressing the groom and then the bride to love,
comfort, honour and protect each other. Couple with joined hands, facing one another, then exchange
vows. They should include keywords such as to love and to cherish as long as we both live . Rings are
also exchanged. My Anglican interviewees used the church s vows and adapted it a little bit. The
exchange of vows and rings is the main feature for couples, which shows that they are now married
and that they are husband and wife. There is a limited range in changes in Christian weddings.
However, there are some options for people who want to personalise it but only to a certain degree
such as the vows. The church vows are more favourable since it consists of all the necessary things a

The rate of occurrence of cyber attacks, the lighting fast speed of dissemination, and the economic impact requires same level of attention and response as a pandemic health crisis. The technical solutions are addressing these serious concerns on the technological side but they do little to reduce or eliminate cyber attacks from occurring in the first place. Also, they are more likely to be viewed as fun challenges or opportunities to showcase cybercriminals technical skills. Lastly, the enormous potential for financial gain from cybercrime and relative little legislature regulations on a global scale, represents a very attractive opportunity for unscrupulous individuals. The public health professionals have been very successful in implementing public health models to prevent and combat disease spreading. As a result, many health indicators have improved drastically: child mortality, maternal health, eradication or sizable reduction of a large number of infectious diseases, etc. The public health models are categorized in the three levels of action: primary preventions, secondary prevention and tertiary prevention. According the article, Kim and Jo support the fact that musical elements may successfully be implemented into speech therapy. This study consisted of six stroke patients with mixed dysarthria over the course of 10 different sessions. Voice data was collected prior to the study by obtaining a voice sample from each patient, and post test data was collected after completion 10 therapy sessions. Maximum phonation time, fundamental frequency, voice intensity, jitter and shimmer, noise to harmonic ratio and diodohkinetic rate are all measured within this protocol. The patients then participated in the Accent based music speech protocol (AMSP). This protocol was designed with four different stages where the patients were instructed to integrate musical elements into speech tasks. • 5. Gomer And Hosea The book of Hosea has to be one of the oddest books of the entire Bible to some. Who would have ever thought that God would have asked his obedient and faithful prophet Hosea to go and take a prostitute to be his wife? There is a common knowledge that God can use anything for His glory. Therefore, as odd as Hosea and Gomer s story is, it is not exempt from glorifying God. God s love is unfailing and unconditional for all of humanity and that was proven in and through the love story of Hosea and Gomer. In this paper, I will cover God s peculiar instructions for Hosea, Hosea and Gomer s story, Hosea s heartbreak, the state of Israel during this time, and God s unfailing love for Israel. God s Peculiar Instructions for Hosea In Hosea 1:2, God gives Hosea instructions to go out and marry an adulterous wife and have children of unfaithfulness. God told Hosea to do this because Israel is guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the Lord. In the next verse, Hosea married Gomer, and Gomer had three children back to back and God told Hosea to name them names that represented His broken relationship with Israel (Hosea 1:4 8). Hosea and Gomer s Love Story After having her children, Gomer obviously wasn t satisfied with her life as wife and mother, and she longed for her previous lifestyle before Hosea, as a prostitute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Israelites, like Gomer, had turned their backs on God. They, similar to Gomer, proved themselves unfaithful to their commitment to God. Both Gomer and the Israelites resumed their old lifestyle which did not honor God or obey his laws. Hosea mirrors the infallibility of God s love. He says in Hosea 14:4: I will heal their backsliding. I will love them freely. Gomer did not deserve that kind of forgiveness. Neither did the Israelites. God s love extends beyond the limits of humanity s sinful humanity. He longs to bring us into a state of restoration with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. My Life For Rebuilding 90 s Model Cars My husband and I have a strong passion for rebuilding 90 s model cars such as civics, hatchbacks, Acura s, Mitsubishi Eclipse s, Celica s, etc. We do two project cars a year, and have done so for the past four years. We used to be able to find older vehicles that were still in good condition, the upholstery was in good condition, and there wasn t much wrong mechanically. About two years ago we started to notice the lack of maintenance and time people would actually put into their cars. From experience, a car will not run if not properly taken care of and serviced in the correct time frame. Normally when my husband and I get a vehicle we always start under the hood. First, check the oil. Without oil, people run the risk of seizing and locking up the engine and then it becomes a lot more expensive than just a few quarts of oil. Most people I have noticed, don t know how often to change their oil. When using regular blend oil, it should be changed around every 3,500 miles. When purchasing synthetic oil, which is used in most vehicles today drivers should change it around 7,000 miles. After checking the oil, we check the tire pressure to ensure the correct lbs. of pressure required for the type of tires and vehicle we have. Other fluid levels to check include the coolant reservoir, anti freeze levels, as well as transmission and brake fluid. Aside from fluids, when my husband would perform a tune up on a vehicle new to us, he would also check the spark plugs and wires ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When it comes to Roof Replacement Ft Worth residents just have to look for these clues, call in a professional company such as Greystone Roofing to check out the roof. They can inspect the roof to see if an entire roof is needed, or if the roof that s on the roof can be repaired. Repair or replace If a few shingles have blown off during a storm, or if there s a small leak in one area, replacing is an economical option. It also makes the most sense. After all, why incur the expense of installing a new roof if there are only a couple of shingles that need to be replaced. In some cases one section of a roof may be damaged. Perhaps, a tree limb has fallen on an area of the roof which resulted in damage to 1/4 of the roof. This is another time when repairing may be the more favorable option. However, if the roof is older and will need replacing soon many homeowners opt for Roof Replacement Ft Worth homeowners choose replacement over repair on older roofs in order to save money in the long run. ... MOTIVATION IS KEY In order to successfully market Windows 8, Microsoft has to motivate students to make the effort to be interested in Microsoft. Lyengar and Lepper (2000) point out that a lack of motivation can cause consumers to either defer the decision, search for alternatives, choose a default option or simply opt not to choose. All of these options do not favour Microsoft in any way. Deferring the decision or not making the decision at all reduces Microsoft s presence and exposure to the market because this means that consumers are not willing to go that extra step to research Microsoft. The New World Of The United States More so than that, Huntington was writing during a time when the United States was the world s only military superpower which lead to the idea that America should take the lead in establishing the new world order , one which would be dominated by the United States and their allies. Because of this, American diplomats and officials were faced with regional, religious and ethnic conflicts that, as Huntington argues, could not be easily solved. During this time the United States were making major decisions about the layout and status of the new world order. It becomes clear that Huntington would believe future conflicts would arise from cultural differences due to previous cultural clashes and that the most powerful country in the world, the United States, was also unable to create solutions for conflicts fueled by cultural differences. There are also smaller factors that could have had an impact on Huntington s outlook and thesis. In 1992 Patrick Buchanan was campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination when he warned that the country was undergoing the greatest invasion in its history, a migration of millions of illegal aliens a year from Mexico. An influx of immigrants, who bring their culture, customs and religion with them, could begin to create a clash in Huntington s own country. Over time people passed down these symbols to the next generation; they either get altered because of the progression of time, or new ones form as a result of this progression. Today objects have different meaning to different people because of the changes made throughout history. In his novel, The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown reveals to his audience that objects such as art, literature, people, and sciences could be viewed in multiple perspectives. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only are the visual arts important, the use of film moreover elevates the idea of objects seen in different points of view. Popular Disney movies for example appeal to the young generations, but there is more background information than children see on television. Snow White alludes to the Bible story of Adam and Eve; the Little Mermaid used symbols from Isis, Eve, Pisces, and Mary Magdalene (Brown 282 283). Films and artwork seen from an innocent mind are not always accredited for their talent of mixing history with fiction. While the fine arts are significant to proving the point of objects seen in different perspectives, literature also impacts this idea. During the course of the novel, Brown use different works of literature to demonstrate the fact that the world has to be viewed in different angles. An example of how Brown uses literature is Shakespeare s plays. Shakespeare is well known for his plays such as A Midsummer Night s Dream, The Merchant of Venice, and Romeo and Juliet, but he also known for his use of the meter, iambic pentameter. For centuries, iambic pentameter had been a preferred poetic meter of outspoken literati across the globe, from the ancient Greek writer Archilochus to Shakespeare, Milton, Chaucer, and Voltaire bold souls who chose to write their social commentaries in a meter that many of the day believed had mystical properties. The following are evidence, and commentary of how the theme has been developed over the two parts. We first get to see the first evidence of the theme in the first few pages. When Paul was in kindergarten, while waiting for the bus stop, he was made fun of, and explained that the eclipse was the cause, but in the present he is questioning himself if that was really the cause. I think the flashbacks were better to include since it heightened our understanding of the theme. Another piece of evidence took place at Tangerine Middle. On Paul s first day, when his tour guide asked about his vision, he hesitated, and replied I don t know . Edward Bloor again developed the theme by showing Paul s struggle. Afterwards, Paul was starting to question himself, and that s when the theme starts to develop even faster. I think that this question was a good way to start transitioning the whole story. Overall, I think Edward Bloor did a good job developing the Identity theme all over part two. Bloor used figurative language to help the reader relate, and maybe understand to Paul s problem better. By contrast, when a body is immunocompromised, it is an open door for a pathogen to come in and initiate disease. Having said that, the healthcare environment provides a multitude of reservoirs if adherence to cleanliness is not made a priority (Weston, 2013).
