Reflecting Back To The Convocation Analysis
Reflecting back to the convocation on Friday the first thin that comes to mind is how much the
Methodist staff wants each and every student to succeed. This continues to amaze me, the support the
school and administration has to offer for myself as a student. I am beginning to know the president, I
have not got the chance to meet him yet one on one yet but he makes a very good first impression in a
caring and concerned way. He began by connecting with the audience, addressing goals he had for the
students by bring up the records the school has made. The personal level he made with the students
made the biggest impression on me, he made it a priority to make a birthday announcement to a girl in
the audience. I thought this was fantastic,

Lightness And Darkness In Macbeth Essay
The Light That Shines
Francis Bacon once said, In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present . In
plays with misfortunate events, such as Macbeth, characters go through internal conflicts, questioning
good versus evil. In the play, the antagonist goes through the struggle of finding an answer to right
versus wrong, along with the other characters. His mission is to become king, which leads him to a
world filled with darkness where he extinguishes all the light that was there to guide him. In
Shakespeare s play, Macbeth, the idea of lightness and darkness are discussed in order to exhibit
purity and corruption through the characters Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, and Banquo. When Macbeth is
told by the witches that he shall become king soon, he realizes he has two paths he must choose
between. He must either wait for things to fall into place and earn the crown, or he must steal it.
Macbeth decides to take matters into his own hands, and steal the crown by murdering King Duncan.
While he plans the murder, Macbeth asks the spirits to hide his intentions, Stars hide your fire; / Let

She wishes darkness consumes all the light within her, leaving her corrupt thoughts. Lady Macbeth is
desperate to get rid of her humanity, she wants no trace of purity within her that can potentially stop
her from the evil deed. She is reliant on darkness and asks for the dark to conceal her sins. This shows
how Lady Macbeth sees purity as a weakness and believes on darkness will help her fulfill her
ambition. Later on in the play, the guilt from the murder eats her up so much that she refuses to stay in
the dark, Why, it stood by her. She has light by / her continually. Tis her command (5.1.24 25). The

Explore The Theme Of Love And Loss In Romeo And Juliet
The play Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare is a story about love and hate that teaches
us about the consequences of extreme passion. Throughout the play Shakespeare has explored the
themes of love, hate and loss. With these themes Shakespeare shows us how love, hate and loss can be
so tragic.
Love plays a major role in William Shakespeare s play Romeo and Juliet as it demonstrates to readers
just how far someone will go just to be together with the one they love. This is seen through Romeo,
when Benvolio, Mercutio and Romeo all attend the Capulet s party uninvited. Romeo instantly falls
head over heels in love with Juliet. After Romeo discovers that Juliet is a Capulet he still loves her
even though Romeo knows that his parents would never approve of their love for each ... Show more

Right after Romeo has found out that Juliet is a Capulet he says Is she a Capulet? O dear account! My
life is my foe s debt. (Act 1, Scene 5, Line 124). This metaphor shows us that Romeo is comparing his
love for Juliet but also to debts or payments. This quote also holds to meaning behind the word dear.
The first being that Juliet is dear to him and the other being debt because he is afraid that Juliet s
father Capulet won t approve of his love for Juliet, so Capulet would tell Romeo to stay away from his
daughter. In the scene where Romeo is standing outside Juliet s balcony declaring his love for Juliet.
One of the things that Romeo says that displays his affection for Julie is With love s light wings did I o
erperch these walls. For stony limits cannot hold love out... ( Act 2, Scene 2, Line 70). Using the
technique of imagery it justifies to us that Romeo believes that he has the wings

The Aspects of Museums and Utopian Study in Calvino s Invisible Cities
In Calvino s novel Invisible Cities, the traveler Marco Polo tells Kublai Khan fiction of the various
cities of his empire, which the Khan himself will never visit. In this paper I will describe such model
from Calvino s novel to explore those aspects of museum experience that are almost invisible to
people. Sketching on critical research and state that, museum is no single but a multiplicity of deeply
personal and largely invisible utopian spaces. At the end of Invisible Cities, Polo talks of the infernal
city, the exact opposite of utopia. Escaping this city is a matter of giving space to things that are not of
the inferno to invisible utopias that they might endure. The purpose of the ... Show more content on

What sets it aside from most literature is the element of fantasy and the use of the above
aforementioned values. Reality is understood in varying degrees as part of everyday life. The fantasy,
visionary or unexpected is utopian because there is no one to answer to the validity, or possibility of
its existence. These cities are quickly established as impossible cities in reader s minds. With
discussions and consideration of the five values readers slowly move into a place of imagination. For
some readers the cities present an unusual mirror that reflects their own society and existence. For
other readers that mirror is more of a crystal ball that helps define a possible future. We may build a
design philosophy on these literary concepts because they are couched in terms of modes of
communication and communication is usually what the graphic designer is trying to achieve (Jackob

century and these are the main keys of this era to

Bartleby The Scrivener Identity Analysis
The text was extracted from the last part of Bartleby the Scrivener, A Story of Wall Street, written by
Herman Neville. The narrator is Bartleby´s boss, who is a flat character and his name is hidden from
the reader´s view, and almost all the action of the story happens around Bartleby and this hidden
narrator, who is not represented physically. This unknown person without face could be the first
reference to the capitalist system, as a reference to an unknown superior entity that make commands.
However, the narrator is only an ant in the difficult way to the richness in the capitalism.
There is another reference to unknown entity, the Dead Letter Office of Washington, a huge entity
from where Bartleby was rejected for unknown reason. This entity is where the last undelivered
communications to the dead are burned without ever having been read. How could be a person
working there without lose his mind? Bartleby represents this sector of the society, those who are
living is a tiring and arduous process, full of numbing compromises and submission to meaningless
tasks. The mortality is unavoidable, for Bartleby to be rejected is like a poison that consumes him until
his death. He does not eat, work or even socialize with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some critics who look at Bartleby the Scrivener as a comment on Melville s life believe the dead
letters may represent his unpopular novels, such as Moby Dick. These novels, like the letters, may be
errands of life, offering the reader great insight into their life, but the novels, like the letters, have no
one to read them. The letters could also make a good metaphor for the drudgery of the emerging
middle class. Sorting letters day in and day out could eventually be difficult for anyone to endure for a
long time, and such repetitive tasks are, even today, a common source of depression for some
employees. By making them dead letters, Melville makes the depressing nature of such a task more

Analysis Of Like Water For Chocolate By Laura Esquivel
The Journey to Self Actualization No human being is completely free. Individuals values, ideas and
identities are influenced, and to a certain degree, shaped by the cultures and societies they live in.
However, by realizing identity, an individual can find a sense of independence, which subsequently
leads towards self actualization. In the novel Like Water for Chocolate , by Laura Esquivel, the
protagonist, Tita, faces her journey from a young, submissive daughter to a strong, independent
woman who is eventually able to achieve self actualization, which is reflected in her non traditional
sense of identity and independence, and is something that not only ties in with Maslow s hierarchy of
needs, but I can relate myself to as well. Self actualization refers to the desire to achieve one s greatest
potential or as Maslow writes what a man can be, he must be (Maslow). Abraham Maslow, a
researcher and a pioneer in the field of psychology, strongly believed that people can control their own
behavior and have the abilities to reach their full potential. Maslow is perhaps best known for his
Hierarchy of Needs that culminates in self actualization. This hierarchy begins with so called basic
needs psychological, safety, social, and esteem and concludes with the growth need . Among other
characteristics, Maslow describes self actualized people as highly creative, independent, genuine
individuals who are resistant to enculturation and accept themselves for who

Similarities And Differences Between Softball And Baseball
Strike! Safe! Foul Ball! You re out! These are just a few of the terms one would hear while attending a
ball game. Add a hot dog and peanuts and you are now a fan of a time honored tradition by many
Americans. A tradition that many fans look forward to watching in hopes that the players will hit one
over the fence while they are in attendance. Many people enjoy playing the game more so than they do
watching it. However, the game is not always the same for the players. Some players call themselves
softball players while others consider themselves baseball players. Is there a difference?
Both sports are very similar as they both require four bases, the shape of a diamond, a glove, a bat, a
ball, innings, three outs, and nine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Baseball bats have a maximum length of 42 inches, but lengths over 34 inches is not a common
practice (Stamp, 2013). The difference between the weight and the length of a bat is referred to as the
drop. If a bat s weight is 24 ounces and its length is 34 inches, the bat would have a 10 drop or be
referred to as a drop 10 ( The Differences Between Baseball Softball, n.d.). For high school baseball
and up, the bats maximum drop is usually 3 , while softball maximum drop is 12 ounces and may not
be greater than a 8 drop difference ( The Differences Between Baseball Softball, n.d.). The shape of a
baseball bat compared to a softball bat is also very different. The softball bat, also called a bottle bat
because of its slender shape, has a maximum diameter of 2 ¼ inches while baseball bats have a
maximum diameter requirement of 2 ¾ inches ( The Differences Between Baseball Softball , n.d.).
Softball bats tend to be made of composite materials or various metal, in addition to metals and
composite materials, some baseball bats are made of wood.
From the first pitch at a baseball or softball game, it is immediately recognized that the pitching styles
are very different between the two sports. A pitcher in softball throws the ball underhand while a
pitcher in baseball throws the ball overhand (Mann, 2011). Both are pitched from a mound located in
the center of a circle known as the

Renaissance Music Critical Analysis
Critical Analysis Assignment The use of vibrato in music stemming from the Late Renaissance music
is highly debated. Christopher Jackson s article entitled An Examination of Vibrato discusses the
issues revolving around the use of vibrato in music from the Late Renaissance time period. The author
s goals isn t to arrive at a side of the matter. However, he clearly states that he wishes to shed some
new light on the views of these two opposing schools... I believe this article is meant for both
musicologists and choral directors alike. The music of this time period is still being performed to this
day and each performance varies due to different interpretations of a particular piece. This article can
serve as a great tool for advising choral directors on specific decisions they must make within a piece
regarding the use of vibrato. The article can also be directed to musicologist who have had debates
about this vocal technique. Without any clear resolution, it leaves the question open ended, however, it
does give insight on the two sides which helps inform musicologists who favor a particular idea about
the other argument.
I do not know much about performing or interpretations of Late Renaissance music. Normally, when I
do pieces from this time period that have the issue of whether or not to perform with vibrato or
straight tone, my vocal instructor tells me to always go for vibrato. That being said, I guess I always
assumed people sing with vibrato when it came to this

Not all political information the media conveys is positive. The difference in coverage from the media
can generate a change within the voting behavior of the public. By examining studies that have dove
deep into the relationship between the negative media content and voting behavior, one can identify
different causal relationship between the two. Elenbaas and Devreese (2008) developed a study
analyzing strategic news exposure, political criticisms, and the effects on young voters. Through their
analysis, they generated findings of negative media content leading to a NO Vote . The results
additionally established a relationship that generated a greater chance for younger voters political
opinions to change, in contrasted to older generations.

Bellagio Case Summary
In the case of Bellagio v. National Labor Relations Board, The United States Court of Appeals was
asked to rule on whether a ruling made by the NLRB was appropriate. The case concerned a bellman
at the Bellagio Hotel who solicited a tip from a customer, which was against company policy. The
customer complained to management, and the bellman was summoned to a meeting regarding the
complaint. When asked about the complaint, the bellman requested a union representative; however,
he declined to contact one by his own effort. The Bellagio tried to find a union rep, but was unable to
locate one at that time, so they informed the Bellman that he could fill out a statement without a rep,
or the meeting would be postponed and he would be put on suspension pending investigation until the
matter was cleared up. It was clearly indicated that the SPI was not disciplinary and the SPI would not
stay in his employee file, but that he could not work until the investigation was completed. As he ...

Asking the employee not to speak of a disciplinary matter while it is investigated does not seem to me
to be coercion. The employee might have had ulterior motives for not leaving the premises. While the
court suggested that this is coercion, I would say that it is common sense. Since the bellman gave no
statement, the Bellagio does not know if he is trying to influence a potential witness or simply vent to
a fellow employee. There is also the potential of a customer overhearing his complaint, and that would
be unprofessional. Overall, I think the hotel handled the complaint and discipline issue in a
professional manner, while the employee tried to abuse the system. A minor infraction, which should
have been handled quickly and easily, became a case that wasted time, money, and valuable court

The Theory Of Transformational Leadership
The theory of transformational leadership is compelling and exciting. In our text, Leadership: A
Communication Perspective, we read that the idea of transformational leadership was developed into a
theory in the 1970 s by James MacGregor Burns; Burns saw transformational leadership as a more
complex and potent form of management than mere transactional leadership (Hackman Johnson,
2013). Transactional leadership simply offers a traditional model of leading and following. Within this
model, leaders offer to meet a follower s basic needs, and provide reward in exchange for effort.
Transactional leaders see a work day as a series of transactions between themselves and their
followers, and a manager s most important function is to maintain the status quo (Hackman Johnson,
2013). On the other hand, transformational leaders offer their followers the opportunity to become
leaders by inspiring, empowering, and nurturing them. In these pages, we will explore how
transformational leadership theory could provide a dynamic roadmap for a century old business as it
evolves and transforms to meet new needs.

Spain s economy is a well based way to equally spread money to all of the people. Some of Spain s
natural resources include coal, lignite, iron ore, uranium, mercury, pyrites, fluorspar, gypsum, zinc,
lead, tungsten, copper, kaolin; hydroelectric power. Spain s currency is the European Union euro.
Spain s imports include machinery and equipment, fuels, chemicals, semi finished goods, foodstuffs,
consumer goods, measuring and medical control instruments. In 2011, the amount of money that
Spain received for imports was $364.9 billion. Some of Spain s exports include machinery, motor
vehicles; foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals, medicines, other consumer goods. In 2011, the amount of
money that Spain received for exports was $309.6 billion.
The gross domestic per capita is thirty three thousand six hundred euros a year. In labor force 2.4
percent goes to agriculture, 24 percent to industry, and 71.1 percent to services. Spain came out in the
number one position because it is a sunny country, because its citizens enjoy shorter working hours
and more days holiday, because energy and lifestyle costs are lower, because the government invests
into education and healthcare, because the average age at which people die is higher than in most of
Europe and because overall, living in Spain ensures you have a better quality of life.

Pros And Cons Of Legalization Of Drugs
The discussion on the legalization of drugs in America has had two opposing sides. One of the groups
which yes gives the pros and cons of the benefits of legalizing drugs, whereas the other stands on their
ground by listing the negative effects and outcomes from such activities. The proponents of American
liberalization use the example of Dutch, whether they got it right with their slogan of campaigning on
the issues. The negative impacts which have arisen from the legalization of drugs in Holland has not
only affected Dutch as a nation, but has also spread even to the other nations (Bergen NP). For
instance, France and Britain have claimed that 80 % of the cocaine and heroin seized in their nations
have come directly from Holland, where the dealers face no risk of being arrested nor prosecuted.
Legalizing drugs is directly accrued to having a desired end, that is, putting the criminal justice system
out of business and trying to unsuccessfully control the health lives of the addicts. Drug abuse has
been an area where the custody is placed on the people with the drugs and the peddlers. The U.S.
public health system has been on stake in trying to deal with the fight on drugs to the abusers. The
most critical bit about the whole issue is that drug addiction for every user of heroin leads to a lifetime
affliction as well as a disease. This is impervious to the threat of punishment of the justice system. In
case nothing else changed during the previous reigns of the various

Dr. Myron Levine
Privatize for the Better The utilization of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit or LIHTC has had an
overall positive effect on housing for low income families in the United States. Four key outcomes of
the LIHTC are: First, there is less likelihood of segregation within the tax credit housing than in the
government provided section 8 and government subsidized voucher programs (Schwartz, p. 115).
Second, the purpose of the program, which was to subsidize mixed income housing to low and
working class families, is provisionally being met (Khadduri, Buron, Lam, p. 10). Third, through
decentralization of the implementation of the LIHTC program the federal government allowed the
state governments more latitude in the dissemination of the tax credits to appropriate developers
(Furman Center, p. 2). Finally, there is a correlation between the areas where LIHTC housing
properties are developed in the impact on the sounding region. This correlation is both positive and
negative in nature, but heavily is judged on the region that the LIHTC is built in and as to whether it is
in an urban center, suburb, or in the metro areas (Deng, pp. 46 48). These four outcomes will guide the
body of this paper about the overarching theme of LIHTC as a policy tool as opposed to section 8
housing or government provided housing. To the first key component or outcome is segregation, as it
relates to the LIHTC program, about half (46%)

Analysis Of Friedrich Nietzsche s Thus Spoke Zarathustra
In the late 19th century, philosopher and psychologist, Friedrich Nietzsche, published a four part
chronicle, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, to express his perspective on how human beings can work towards
and achieve a lifestyle of joy and innocence. Nietzsche, who was an anti christ due to its slavish
mentality and ways, believed that everyone has an overman and ubermensch aspect to their lives,
where they can be free spirited and the ultimate dictator of their morals and values. For one to live a
life of free of predestined expectations and societal pressures, they must be constantly overcoming

Whether it be because of, gender, race, religion, etc.., society tries to put us into precalculated and

life can be seen as a burden, you re expected to be cleanly and brush your teeth, you re obligated to

A Report On Fine Chemicals
Fine Chemicals Is API manufacturing returning to Europe? Shannon Bennett of Thomson Reuters
takes a look at the shifts in active ingredient sourcing During the past decade, as manufacturers have
pursued lower costs and a more favourable regulatory environment, API sourcing has expanded from
regulated into less regulated markets. However, sourcing from emerging markets has revealed a
variety of challenges which pharmaceuticals companies are continuously working to overcome. These
challenges, coupled with increasing costs in India and China and demand for specialised technologies,
could steer some companies to return to sourcing their APIs from European suppliers. Regulatory

The European Generics Association (EGA) recently requested consideration of an EU Bolar Export
Provision. This would allow EU generic drugs companies to develop and manufacture products
specifically for export to the global market without breaching existing EU patent protection. Such a
provision would not only benefit EU companies by levelling the API playing field but would also
facilitate the entry and availability of generic drugs in pharmerging markets, where the only available
option may be more expensive branded drugs. The future of EU API manufacturing could be
influenced by the outcome of other pending initiatives that would require more from companies in
terms of investment in and oversight of suppliers. For example, the adoption of the EU s Falsified
Medicines Directive requires the verification of all finished dose packs throughout the supply chain, as
well as for APIs exported to EU, proving they were produced within quality specifications equivalent
to those in EU. Source: Robert Pollack, Lachman Consultants Figure 1 GDUFA fees An additional
requirement has been proposed which would require API manufacturers to verify the source of all
starting materials, ensuring that they originated from the facilities claimed by the manufacturer of the
starting materials. This could help EU manufacturers, as sourcing from European companies would
require less paperwork and oversight than sourcing from India and China. Additionally, European
companies may choose

Hunting Is A Staple Of American Tradition
Hunting has become a staple of American traditions since the beginning of the first hunter/gatherers,
to the Native Americans who have lived in the U.S for millennia, even all the way until present day.
Much of today s society looks at hunting as a cruel activity when in reality it has more of a positive
effect on the environment than it does harm. There are an abundance of benefits that come from
hunting. Some of the benefits of hunting are: it is the biggest contribution to conserving wildlife, the
meat is healthier than commercially produced meat, many jobs are being supported out of hunting, and
every hunter wants to bag the trophy animal; however, there are a few cons to this, which include
poaching and interference by the activist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Arizona, because of the lesser population of animals, one may only harvest one antlered deer, one
elk, and two javelina per person per year. Additionally, the hunter must be drawn in a lottery style
process for allocating the limited number of Arizona big game and other limited species hunt permit
tags to applicants (AZ Game Fish). Not every applicant who applies for a tag gets drawn, this is part
of the system of controlling the population of wildlife to ensure no animal is over hunted. However, in
other states, there might be other regulations based on the population of the animal. For example, in
Kentucky, one may be able to harvest four deer per year including one antlered deer (Kentucky Game
and Fish). A famous example of overgrazing is the Kaibab plateau in northern Arizona in the early
1900 s. In summary, cattle was introduced to the plateau and thus created the problem of overgrazing
the land. Then in 1906 Theodore Roosevelt declared the area the Grand Canyon National Game
Preserve. The regulators of the area officially banned hunting of deer in 1907, in addition, the
extermination of predators of deer was put into effect. By 1920 the deer population had risen out of
control from these laws and hunting was reopened. This overpopulation of deer caused overgrazing to
happen once again and 60,000 deer starved within the next two winters. The image above shows the
population of deer from 1905

Relationship Between Fathers and Sons Essay
Both poems My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke and Those Winter Sundays by Robert Hayden are
poems in which the speaker (a son in both cases) attempts to explain his complex relationship with his
father. It seems that the two poets are reflecting back in their early lives as young boys and showing
different appreciation toward their father. In my interpretation My Papa s Waltz is about a boy and that
is excited that his father got home to play with him. Only problem is the speakers father is drunk and it
hard to enjoy himself but he held on because the unconditional love he has for him, as the line says

The impression that I get from My Papa s Waltz is that the boy s father is an alcoholic and
irresponsible. I say this because as the father and the boy were playing around in the kitchen The
unconscious father could of drop a hot pan that the mother could have been cooking on and cause
serious damage. That to me shows that the father don t really think about the possibilities. On the
contrary Those Winter Sundays Sundays too my father got up early (1) shows that the father is a hard
workingman, that everyday of the week he is up early with cracked hands that ached / from labor in
the weekday weather made (3 4). The speaker s father is a man that did hard labor to keep heat in the
house and also made sure his son was looking sharp for example, polished my good shoes as well
(12). Overall he was very responsible and loving even though the speaker didn t think so at the time
seeing that he didn t show appreciation and no one ever thanked him (5).
When it comes to the mood the speakers portray different attitudes towards their fathers. In My Papa s
Waltz the speakers mood is positive while the poet reflect back negatively and in Those Winter
Sundays the speaker attitude is like whatever and negative while the poet also reflect back an realizes
that his father was a

The Political Philosophy of Karl Raimund Popper
Karl Raimund popper (1902 to 1994) was an influential philosopher of science, who philosophized
about society, in much the same way he philosophized about science in a critical spirit. His personal
experience, as an Austrian Jew in the days of the Nazi Anschluss (meaning link up or annexation in
the German language), provided him a wealth of firsthand experience and insights into the nature of
totalitarian governments.
At a point in popper s life he was an enthusiast of Marxist socialism, but that enthusiasm was short
lived as he soon began to develop a skeptical turn of mind towards Marxist socialism. He questioned
the rationale in the sacrifice of human life which communism found necessary to its cause, after the

which society was forced into accepting a unilateral version of reality which was wholly certain as to

In the defense of the liberal tradition in politics Popper developed certain philosophical positions, to
counter the notions by those philosophers who advocated such illiberal philosophical ideas that could
only lead to the creation of closed societies for the world. The philosophical positions which popper

closed societies in free societies, as long as they stuck to verbal arguments only, and social

Popper considered the west and the rest of the world endangered by the influence of such thought that
promoted a historicist or collectivist frame of social thought. This sort of frame for social thought he
argued could only lead to the establishment of authoritarian and totalitarian forms of government,
which would in turn suppress and constrain the liberties and lives of people in the long run.

It causes significant loss of intellectual abilities, such as memory capacity, severe enough to interfere

Treatment for Dementia requires the patient to be under constant medical care. Most families are
responsible for taking care of the patient day to day. Medical focus should be on optimizing the
individual s health and quality of life, while helping the family cope with the many challenges that
occur with taking care of the patient. The medical care of the patient also depends on the underlying
condition which often consists of medications and non drug treatments such as behavioral therapy. If
the Dementia is related to a hypothyroidism, treatment would be thyroid hormone replacement.
Currently there are few medications on the market that have been shown to help, a bit. Dementia is
difficult to prevent because what causes it is unknown. People who have vascular Dementia may be
able to prevent future declines by lowering the risk of heart disease and stroke. As with most illness
the best way to try to prevent it is to stay healthy and take care of yourself by eating right, exercising
regularly, and not smoking. Following those guidelines should help keep blood pressure down and
reduce risk of stroke. Also in older people who are affected by Dementia more than younger people,
staying involved socially and learning are two more good ways to help to stay alert. It is also a good

is the rise of the rest and how countries like China, India, Brazil, and others, have began to tilt the

they are correlated to their success. The environment, energy and demography, are a few of these
topics that play a role with this rise of the rest and by focusing on these areas, can allow countries

Athletes of all ages are always looking for that extra edge to excel in their sport. Living in a world

some athletes who are determined to win at any cost, motivated to experiment with illegal substances

believes that they have reached their peak of performance or feel they are struggling to progress they
will likely seek out something to enhance their performance. Depending on their sport, they will want
to increase their strength, energy and endurance. Performance enhancing drugs deliver a significant
boost in those areas, which attract athletes to use them. Also, how easy an athlete can get ahold of
these substances is almost scary. Any athlete can simply order almost all performance enhancing drug

The Eucharist, or Holy Communion, is a rite and is considered by the majority of Christian churches
to be a sacrament. The New Testament asserts that during the Last Supper, Jesus Christ gave his
disciples bread and wine during the Passover meal, and asked his followers to do this in memory of

Ancient and contemporary approaches to Eucharist share similarities and differences. While early
Eucharist s were masses in people s homes or small communities, and always involved a gathering,
storytelling and a meal, the more elaborate ceremonies celebrated in contemporary Catholic
communities developed long after (Harker and Phipps 2001, p. 347). In earlier times, and after the
Last supper when Christ revealed himself in the breaking of the bread to two disciples (Luke 24:13 35,

What Is The Biggest Industrial Revolution In The Uk
The Biggest Industrial Revolution in the United Kingdom.
The biggest changes of industries happened about 200 years ago. It appeared in the United Kingdom
at first and spread throughout the entire world. At that time, a lot of things changed quickly. Therefore,
it is called the Industrial Revolution. The three biggest changes which were the improvement of the
spinning machine, the growth of the steel manufacturing and the development of the steam engine
were important during the Industrial Revolution in the United Kingdom.
First, the spinning machine was improved rapidly. In the United Kingdom, wool and cotton fabrics
were chief exports. Nevertheless, it took a lot of time to make them because it was handmade and had
to be made by a group of two people. However, in 1773, John Kay invented the flying shuttle which
made possible to do only one operator. About 30 years later, the spinning jenny was invited by
Hargreaves. It could spin about 80 threads per person, and this was the beginning of the technological
innovation. In 1769, Arkwright developed the first water powered spinning machine which used water

Pulp Fiction Film Analysis
Pulp Fiction is a black comedy crime film written and directed Quentin Tarantino (1994). The film s
narrative follows the unpredictable actions and reflections of two hit men who philosophically
meditate out loud about the Bible, loyalty, and McDonald s hamburgers (Corrigan, White, 368). The
movie goes against the three act structure of classic films as the story is told out of chronological order
making the film so memorable to its viewers. Tarantino s film begins in a coffee shop and also ends in
the same shop. In the beginning of the film, it appears to be a soft, moist, shapeless matter of mass but
as the movie progresses the audience can take away much more from the mundane acts they view on
screen. The film s odd narrative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pulp Fiction employs various devices such as dialogue and visual motifs that provide narrative clarity
and unity along the lines associated with classical Hollywood cinema (Bailey, 52). The dialogue in the
coffee shop indicates that the film has more to do with the mundane aspects of a life of crime than it
does with the glamour, danger, and intrigue typical of thrillers or film noir (Howley). The film s
dialogue can range from absolutely pointless to completely captivating moments. These conversation
establishes character and character relations early in the film in an entertaining fashion. This is
depicted when Vincent and Jules are having a normal conversation about Amsterdam and foot
massages directly before they are about to commit multiple murders. This organic conversation
establishes the characters as reasonably ordinary people to the audience till they arrive at the
apartment and appear stone cold. Tarantino s Pulp Fiction clarity illustrates the style of mundane
versus the extreme. A motif that remains constant in the film is the bathroom. Various of the film s
major events occur while someone is using the restroom. For a majority the film this phenomenon
occurs to Vincent. When he uses the restroom in the diner, Jules has a heart to heart with the robbers,
Pumpkin and Honey Bunny. Next, Vincent is using the bathroom at Mia s and she comes across his

Precedent, he wrote James Madison, it is devoutly wished on my part, that these precedents may be
fixed on true principles. (George Washington). Not only was every decision a precedent, as stated in
mountvernon.org: in every turn America as a young country was in peril; every decision was layered
with implications, competing passions, political pettiness, danger. (Mount Vernon).
Why did George Washington emerge as the most significant leader in the founding of the United
States of America, even to the extent of being called the Father of the Country? The facts show us that
he led the Continental Army to victory in the American Revolutionary War over what was at the time
the world s most powerful military. Later, as president, he guided the United States in its formative
years. His leadership and vision established a foundation that would transform America from 13
loosely connected states into an unequalled economic and military superpower.
There have been many effective leaders and some great ones. Washington s perseverance and

Antibiotic Stewardship
Antibiotics are medicines used to treat infections or diseases caused by bacteria. Antibiotics work by
blocking vital processes in bacteria, killing the bacteria, or stopping them from multiplying. This helps
the body s natural immune system to fight the bacteria infection. Antibiotics do not affect the quality

Antibiotics differ in the types of bacteria they work against. Antibiotics that affect a wide range of

This includes the way antibiotics are used to protect human health and animal health as well,
otherwise known as antibiotic stewardship. Antimicrobial stewardship is a coordinated program that
promotes the appropriate use of antimicrobials (including antibiotics), improves patient outcomes,
reduces microbial resistance, and decreases the spread of infections caused by multidrug resistant
organisms (Khabbaz ). There are some controversial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no reason to overuse antibiotics. It is not against the law to overuse them but antibiotics also
are expensive for the small businessmen and women who raise cattle for beef. All antibiotics must go
through demanding government inspection before being official for use in livestock. Animal medicine
goes through three layers of approval. Those three layers are making sure the medicine is safe for the
animal, safe for the environment, and safe for the humans who will consume the meat. Each category
must be evaluated before approval from the U.S. Food Drug Administration. After antibiotics are
sanctioned they are relentlessly managed and assessed annually. If the product remains to be verified
safe it will stay on the market for

Reflecting Back To The Convocation Analysis Reflecting back to the convocation on Friday the first thin that comes to mind is how much the Methodist staff wants each and every student to succeed. This continues to amaze me, the support the school and administration has to offer for myself as a student. I am beginning to know the president, I have not got the chance to meet him yet one on one yet but he makes a very good first impression in a caring and concerned way. He began by connecting with the audience, addressing goals he had for the students by bring up the records the school has made. The personal level he made with the students made the biggest impression on me, he made it a priority to make a birthday announcement to a girl in the audience. I thought this was fantastic, ... • 3. Lightness And Darkness In Macbeth Essay The Light That Shines Francis Bacon once said, In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present . In plays with misfortunate events, such as Macbeth, characters go through internal conflicts, questioning good versus evil. In the play, the antagonist goes through the struggle of finding an answer to right versus wrong, along with the other characters. His mission is to become king, which leads him to a world filled with darkness where he extinguishes all the light that was there to guide him. In Shakespeare s play, Macbeth, the idea of lightness and darkness are discussed in order to exhibit purity and corruption through the characters Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, and Banquo. When Macbeth is told by the witches that he shall become king soon, he realizes he has two paths he must choose between. He must either wait for things to fall into place and earn the crown, or he must steal it. Macbeth decides to take matters into his own hands, and steal the crown by murdering King Duncan. Later on in the play, the guilt from the murder eats her up so much that she refuses to stay in the dark, Why, it stood by her. She has light by / her continually. Tis her command (5.1.24 25). Explore The Theme Of Love And Loss In Romeo And Juliet The play Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare is a story about love and hate that teaches us about the consequences of extreme passion. Throughout the play Shakespeare has explored the themes of love, hate and loss. With these themes Shakespeare shows us how love, hate and loss can be so tragic. Love plays a major role in William Shakespeare s play Romeo and Juliet as it demonstrates to readers just how far someone will go just to be together with the one they love. This is seen through Romeo, when Benvolio, Mercutio and Romeo all attend the Capulet s party uninvited. Romeo instantly falls head over heels in love with Juliet. After Romeo discovers that Juliet is a Capulet he still loves her even though Romeo knows that his parents would never approve of their love for each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Right after Romeo has found out that Juliet is a Capulet he says Is she a Capulet? O dear account! My life is my foe s debt. (Act 1, Scene 5, Line 124). This metaphor shows us that Romeo is comparing his love for Juliet but also to debts or payments. This quote also holds to meaning behind the word dear. The first being that Juliet is dear to him and the other being debt because he is afraid that Juliet s father Capulet won t approve of his love for Juliet, so Capulet would tell Romeo to stay away from his daughter. In the scene where Romeo is standing outside Juliet s balcony declaring his love for Juliet. One of the things that Romeo says that displays his affection for Julie is With love s light wings did I o erperch these walls. For stony limits cannot hold love out... ( Act 2, Scene 2, Line 70). In this paper I will describe such model from Calvino s novel to explore those aspects of museum experience that are almost invisible to people. Sketching on critical research and state that, museum is no single but a multiplicity of deeply personal and largely invisible utopian spaces. At the end of Invisible Cities, Polo talks of the infernal city, the exact opposite of utopia. Escaping this city is a matter of giving space to things that are not of the inferno to invisible utopias that they might endure. The purpose of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What sets it aside from most literature is the element of fantasy and the use of the above aforementioned values. Reality is understood in varying degrees as part of everyday life. The fantasy, visionary or unexpected is utopian because there is no one to answer to the validity, or possibility of its existence. These cities are quickly established as impossible cities in reader s minds. With discussions and consideration of the five values readers slowly move into a place of imagination. For some readers the cities present an unusual mirror that reflects their own society and existence. For other readers that mirror is more of a crystal ball that helps define a possible future. We may build a design philosophy on these literary concepts because they are couched in terms of modes of communication and communication is usually what the graphic designer is trying to achieve (Jackob 105). • 7. Bartleby The Scrivener Identity Analysis The text was extracted from the last part of Bartleby the Scrivener, A Story of Wall Street, written by Herman Neville. The narrator is Bartleby´s boss, who is a flat character and his name is hidden from the reader´s view, and almost all the action of the story happens around Bartleby and this hidden narrator, who is not represented physically. This unknown person without face could be the first reference to the capitalist system, as a reference to an unknown superior entity that make commands. However, the narrator is only an ant in the difficult way to the richness in the capitalism. There is another reference to unknown entity, the Dead Letter Office of Washington, a huge entity from where Bartleby was rejected for unknown reason. This entity is where the last undelivered communications to the dead are burned without ever having been read. How could be a person working there without lose his mind? Bartleby represents this sector of the society, those who are living is a tiring and arduous process, full of numbing compromises and submission to meaningless tasks. The letters could also make a good metaphor for the drudgery of the emerging middle class. • 8. Analysis Of Like Water For Chocolate By Laura Esquivel The Journey to Self Actualization No human being is completely free. Individuals values, ideas and identities are influenced, and to a certain degree, shaped by the cultures and societies they live in. However, by realizing identity, an individual can find a sense of independence, which subsequently leads towards self actualization. In the novel Like Water for Chocolate , by Laura Esquivel, the protagonist, Tita, faces her journey from a young, submissive daughter to a strong, independent woman who is eventually able to achieve self actualization, which is reflected in her non traditional sense of identity and independence, and is something that not only ties in with Maslow s hierarchy of needs, but I can relate myself to as well. Self actualization refers to the desire to achieve one s greatest potential or as Maslow writes what a man can be, he must be (Maslow). Abraham Maslow, a researcher and a pioneer in the field of psychology, strongly believed that people can control their own behavior and have the abilities to reach their full potential. Maslow is perhaps best known for his Hierarchy of Needs that culminates in self actualization. This hierarchy begins with so called basic needs psychological, safety, social, and esteem and concludes with the growth need . Among other characteristics, Maslow describes self actualized people as highly creative, independent, genuine individuals who are resistant to enculturation and accept themselves for who ... A tradition that many fans look forward to watching in hopes that the players will hit one over the fence while they are in attendance. The author s goals isn t to arrive at a side of the matter. However, he clearly states that he wishes to shed some new light on the views of these two opposing schools... I believe this article is meant for both musicologists and choral directors alike. The music of this time period is still being performed to this day and each performance varies due to different interpretations of a particular piece. This article can serve as a great tool for advising choral directors on specific decisions they must make within a piece regarding the use of vibrato. The article can also be directed to musicologist who have had debates about this vocal technique. Without any clear resolution, it leaves the question open ended, however, it does give insight on the two sides which helps inform musicologists who favor a particular idea about the other argument. In our text, Leadership: A Communication Perspective, we read that the idea of transformational leadership was developed into a theory in the 1970 s by James MacGregor Burns; Burns saw transformational leadership as a more complex and potent form of management than mere transactional leadership (Hackman Johnson, 2013). Transactional leadership simply offers a traditional model of leading and following. Within this model, leaders offer to meet a follower s basic needs, and provide reward in exchange for effort. Transactional leaders see a work day as a series of transactions between themselves and their followers, and a manager s most important function is to maintain the status quo (Hackman Johnson, 2013). On the other hand, transformational leaders offer their followers the opportunity to become leaders by inspiring, empowering, and nurturing them. In these pages, we will explore how transformational leadership theory could provide a dynamic roadmap for a century old business as it evolves and transforms to meet new needs. One of the groups which yes gives the pros and cons of the benefits of legalizing drugs, whereas the other stands on their ground by listing the negative effects and outcomes from such activities. The proponents of American liberalization use the example of Dutch, whether they got it right with their slogan of campaigning on the issues. The negative impacts which have arisen from the legalization of drugs in Holland has not only affected Dutch as a nation, but has also spread even to the other nations (Bergen NP). For instance, France and Britain have claimed that 80 % of the cocaine and heroin seized in their nations have come directly from Holland, where the dealers face no risk of being arrested nor prosecuted. Legalizing drugs is directly accrued to having a desired end, that is, putting the criminal justice system out of business and trying to unsuccessfully control the health lives of the addicts. Drug abuse has been an area where the custody is placed on the people with the drugs and the peddlers. The U.S. public health system has been on stake in trying to deal with the fight on drugs to the abusers. Four key outcomes of the LIHTC are: First, there is less likelihood of segregation within the tax credit housing than in the government provided section 8 and government subsidized voucher programs (Schwartz, p. 115). Second, the purpose of the program, which was to subsidize mixed income housing to low and working class families, is provisionally being met (Khadduri, Buron, Lam, p. 10). Third, through decentralization of the implementation of the LIHTC program the federal government allowed the state governments more latitude in the dissemination of the tax credits to appropriate developers (Furman Center, p. 2). Finally, there is a correlation between the areas where LIHTC housing properties are developed in the impact on the sounding region. This correlation is both positive and negative in nature, but heavily is judged on the region that the LIHTC is built in and as to whether it is in an urban center, suburb, or in the metro areas (Deng, pp. 46 48). At a point in popper s life he was an enthusiast of Marxist socialism, but that enthusiasm was short lived as he soon began to develop a skeptical turn of mind towards Marxist socialism.
