Was Hitler Responsible For The Holocaust Essay
In spite of Adolf Hitler s critical role in the Holocaust, he was not directly responsible for the majority
of the horrors that the events created.
All of Germany had a solid reason for the persecution, if not extreme terrors that it included. After the
conclusion of World War One and the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was launched into
a massive depression that devastated the country. Those who are suffering are bound to reach a state of
anger at some point, and at the beginning they were right to feel this sentiment. The neighboring
nations had set unfair and cruel requirements for Germany in the Treaty of Versailles, which ruined
their economy, resulting in massive inflation and extreme poverty. Thus, Germany was angry. The ...

Many Nazis were unnecessarily cruel to their prisoners and those they watched over. Citizens and
Nazis alike participated in Kristallnacht, even though little punishment would follow those who did
not take part as long as they did not protest. Mengele, for example, was not required by law to perform
cruel and unusual experiments on his people. Eichmann, Himmler, Jeckeln, Ilse Koch. These people
were not followers, they were leaders. Ilse Koch skinned her inmates at Buchenwald and used their
skins as pillow cushions and book covers. She encouraged the rape, murder, and torture of her girls,
thinking it to be great fun (whatculture.com 2). Jeckeln developed a system, force the prisoners to dig
a massive ditch, strip, lay down in the ditch, and be shot in their self dug grave (whatculture.com 1).
Jeckeln organised Babi Yar, where laughing soldiers beat the Jews to death and shot them in Jeckeln s
favorite way. It was said of Babi Yar that, Those who hesitated had their clothes ripped off of them by
force, and were kicked and struck with knuckledusters or clubs by the Germans, who seemed to be
drunk with fury in a sadistic sort of rage (Anatoli 106). These malevolent people led to horrors not
required nor even imagined by Hitler. They came only from the brains of these malicious, sadistic
monsters. Hitler may have encouraged his nation, but he did not directly cause this

Enron Oxley Act ( Sox )
Executive Summary
Over the last two decades the consulting practices within the Big Four accounting firms saw a variety
of changes take place. This began when the accounting world was faced with multiple scandals around
the turn of the century, which prompted the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX). SOX mandated that public
accounting firms could no longer provide both audit and consulting services to the same client. This
forced the firms to brainstorm new ways to comply with the laws and standards, and overtime they
created innovative ways to adhere to regulations. We examine the issues leading up to the new
regulations, the Big Four firms reactions to the new regulations, and how consulting rebounded after
SOX. We also analyzed what the consulting line of service at the Big Four will look like in the future
and discuss why the Big Four firms want to preserve a presence in the consulting business. Overall,
our research suggests that the consulting sector is lucrative, and the firms need revenues from non
audit clients in order to continue to grow their business.
Management Consulting s Fall to SOX
The management consulting industry first gained popularity in the 1930s with the demand for advice
on finance, strategy, and organizational design because of various government interventions. After
World War 2, the development of globalization contributed to the boom in consulting industry.(O
Mahoney, 2010) Also, the increasing demand for strategy and information technology

A Change Of A Chromosome Number
A change in a chromosome number is known as Aneuploidy. Aneuploidy is a genetic condition where
an organism acquires fewer or more chromosomes than the normal diploid number. A monosomic
organism has one less than the diploid number of chromosomes meaning the human zygote will have
45 chromosomes. A trisomic organism has one more than the diploid number of number of
chromosomes i.e. the organism will now have 47 set of chromosome meaning there are three
homologous copies of one chromosome. It can develop in many ways. For example, during mitosis a
centromere can be deleted as a result a chromosome can be lost. Aneuploidy usually alters the
phenotype drastically because it alters chromosome number but not the DNA sequence. Between 75

Gene alterations on an organism have profound effects on both cellular and physiological levels.
Aneuploidy can be present in two ways if its present in only certain cells its known as somatic
aneuploidy but its its found in all of the cells then its called constitutional aneuploidy. The effects of
constitutional aneuploidy can be lethal. In humans, a condition known as down syndrome is caused is
due to third copy of chromosome 21 and a third copy in any autosome will always result in childhood
problems. (Hassold TJ, 1984). They can survive but will have significant health problems and will be
mentally affected. Also, the absence of any autosomal chromosomes can lead to embryonic death.
One of the basic consequences of aneuploidy is the genomic instability. Genomic instability refers to
the change initiated during the life cycle of a cell. Genetic instability is hallmark of aneuploidy that
leads to wide range of changes in the genome of the organisms. These changes can cause serious
effects to the organism these include the chromosome alterations, chromosomal mutations. The
Structural rearrangements of chromosomes are thought to develop from the repair of double strand
DNA breaks (DSB) by non homologous end joining (NHEJ) pathway and its variant, alternative NHEJ
(also known as backup NHEJ) (Quinlan and Hall, 2012).
During a cell division, it is believed that genomic instability is minimized by four major mechanisms,
which include chromosome segregation in

Silence By Margaret Atwood Silence
In the romance Silence, Silence is drawn between which gender to associate herself as. Throughout
the story Silence is found drawn between nature and nurture. She shows the reader that gender is not
only based on biological aspects. She accomplishes much as a knight and is able to disprove the idea
that only men can complete certain tasks, therefor fighting for women rights. Silence struggles with
handling certain situations due to her biological gender, and ultimately comes to the conclusion that a
persons biological gender overcomes the gender one assumes when nurtured in that fashion. The
romance shows the influence of gender in regards to nature and the way one is nurtured, furthermore
showing how cross dressing effects gender roles. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After many attempts and advances by Queen Eufeme the narrator describes Silence as, the youth who
is a girl (3785). While this is Sarah Roche Mahdi s translation many others translate Et li values qui
est mescine (3785) as the boy who is a girl . This shows that the narrator prefers referring to Silence
with a masculine gender. This is also seen through the narrators use of gender pronouns, using he/his
to refer to Silence. This passage hints to the reader that in fact appearance, behavior, and
accomplishments reveal gender more than Silence s biologically sex. Due to gender being seen as
binary in medieval times, Silence struggles determine the appropriate way to behave. This is seen
when Queen Eufeme makes advances on him and he is confused on how to react, because his true
gender is ambiguous since in society, in medieval times, gender was depended on genitalia and the
ability to reproduce. It is obvious to the reader that Silence can not reproduce making his situation
with Queen Eufeme so awkward. The theme of suppressing natural impulses is very common is Old
French literature. It is seen in Chretien de Troyes Perceval when a hero tries to suppress his impulse
for compassion in order to fulfill what he believed to have been courtly behaviors. This is very similar
to Silence s situation

The Role Of Meritocracy In The United States
In today s society, the gap between the rich and the poor continues to widen as the rich get richer and
the poor get poorer. America, with the American dream, prides itself in its operation of a meritocracy.
Meritocracy is the social structure that rewards merit. In the US, the system of meritocracy is designed
to provide hope and equal opportunity for people to rise to success. However with the system of
meritocracy in place, the United State s income gap continues to rise. The widening chasm prevents
the mobility of people to work their way up to achieve the American dream. The first problem arises
with the nature of merit. Merit can be defined differently for each individual, so how can the standard
for reward be defined? Is a sense

The Science Of Social Psychology
If you put good apples into a bad situation, you ll get bad apples , said Philip G. Zimbardo, a
prominent researcher of the field of social psychology. What is social psychology, you might ask? In
short, it represents and defines an individual s actions when the said individual is placed in a social
situation. It also defines how you choose to act, often subconsciously, in the face of others. The
science of social psychology is a youthful one, it s existence barely a century old. However, it is with
it s existence that we are able to decipher topics such as conformity, independence, and identity on a
logical basis. We use it, to a degree, to study how every group has an impact on a singular entity, as
well as how those impacts end up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His theories were tested in his famous line test experiments, where a participant, placed last in a row
of other participants (actors) were to choose the correct corresponding line for a set of lines. However,
all the actors were instructed to answer incorrectly, leading the participants to conform, on average,
about one third (32%) (Asch 1 70) of the time in the complete trials. In addition, the varying cases
monitored had shown that 75% of the participants had conformed at least once (McLeod) during the
duration of their tests. The majority of the subjects felt that their judgement was clouded, or, more
surprisingly, knew that the group was incorrect yet went with the flow to avoid conflict. The real
world impacts of this trial are massive: By placing individuals in groups, there bears the risk of
conformity overtaking the free will of the group through the want of the individual to fit in, known as
normative influence, or the clouding of their judgement through believing that the group has the better
answer, known as informational influence. This can have massive repercussions in group centric fields
such as politics, or affect the opinions of the members of a group during discussions. In addition, the
urge to fit in , often experienced by many teenagers, is attributed to the same effect. Conformity is a
powerful force, capable of weakening the strongest

The West Memphis Case Analysis
The West Memphis case remains a mystery to this day. Even after the closing of the it, 6 years ago,
people still question who murdered the three children. After investigation ended Damien Echols one of
the man wrongly accused of killing the kids wrote the novel Life After Death which explained his side
of the story. It peeked the interest of the public as it was one of the first pieces to have been in the
view of the alleged murderers. The documentary West of Memphis became famous as it showed why
the West Memphis Three were not the criminals. The writing itself was engaging due to its switching
between the author s past and period in prison and his writings while in prison. The most affecting and
beautifully written passages were ones ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the novel Echols also reprints his prison writings. This engages the audience as they are able to see
how he felt in the moment and not through his overlook of prison. They can better understand what
was happening because the passages are not written as a past memory, but as his emotions in that
minute. This allows no room for incorrect feelings as it is impossible to forget what happens at that
instant. The readers are truly capable of comprehending his sentiments. For example, I have lost all
faith, lost all belief. I teeter on the edge of hopelessness. Everything is a fight, and I m so tired. I m so
tired of struggling; I want to scream until I m gargling my own blood (305). At this moment the
people reading the book really feel for Echols and this draws their attention. One of Echols most
affecting and beautifully written passages in the novel is his description of the emotional torture the
prison does to him. The author s pain can be clearly envisioned through the passage. It creates a
feeling of disgust and hatred towards the guards and at the same time the reader feels the need to cry
for the author as he suffers through the pain and torture. He uses sentences like, Soon you walk with
your shoulders slumped and your head down, like a beast that s used to being kicked... and also, ...the
prison staff does not look at you as human... (65). The

A lot of people experience events that change their lives; some are more difficult to deal with. An
event that changed my life was moving from Pennsylvania to New Jersey. I lived I Pennsylvania for
11 years after my parents split up. I have currently been living in New Jersey with my dad for about 2
years. Moving at this age was very difficult because it is hard to make friends with new people since
everyone already has a group of friends. It was hard to fit into a new group of friends so I tried out for

to make new friends. I didn t make the team so I ended up playing soccer for the township. While

Internal Accountant s Report to Management Essay
Internal Accountant s Report to Management It is my opinion that a full financial status review would
be in the best interest of the Company. We have taken pride in the fact that we qualify for Government
contracts. We should not let anyone else find any fault within our Company. In conducting such a
review, we would be able to thoroughly examine aspects of not only our control systems but our
personnel and practices. Through a full financial status review we will also be able to determine if
there is any fraud or abusive actions being enacted against the Company. Occupational fraud is the use

Both of these governing bodies educate auditors, company executives and accountants on how to
effectively handle the risk of fraud but to deter it as well. It has been researched that corruption
schemes, a common type of fraud, were far less common than other fraud cases, such as, asset
misappropriations, however, they were more costly. There are four types of corruption schemes:
bribery, illegal gratuities, economic extortion, and conflict of interest. Three of these schemes bribery,
illegal gratuities, and economic extortion cases all bear a great deal of similarity in that they all
involve an illicit payment from one party to another, either to influence a decision or as a reward for a
decision already made. (Wells, 2005) Bribery is an unethical or illegal business transaction. Bribery is
a form of buying favoritism and it closely associated with politics. It can be broken down into two
broad categories; kickbacks and bid rigging schemes. A kickback is the seller s return of part of the
purchase price of an item to a buyer or buyer s representative for the purpose of inducing a purchase
or improperly influencing future purchases. Bid rigging is considered an illegal conspiracy in which
competitors join to artificially increase the prices of goods and/or services offered in bids to potential
customers. It may also include carving up the potential business between the

Reflection, Activities of Daily Living
For the purpose of this essay the Kolb s model of reflection (1984) has been chosen as a guide to
reflect on administration of oxygen therapy. Administration of oxygen therapy is the aspect of nursing
practice that I selected as a result of completing the case based learning scenarios. I will explain how
the administration of oxygen therapy can have an effect on a patient s activities of daily living (ADL),
including some of the psychological and ethical issues. Breathing is the selected ADL that has been
chosen to demonstrate how I implemented the aspect of nursing practice on clinical placement.
Changes have been made to protect the anonymity and maintain confidentiality of the patient and
clinical placement, in accordance with the NMC ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before my recent clinical placement I had some awareness on how specific illnesses such as CODP
could affect a patients breathing, hence impairing quality of life, however I did not realise the impact
shortness of breath could have on a patients emotional and physical state. If a patient is struggling
physically to cope it is quite easy for a healthcare professional to observe and as a result provide the
correct level of support, however a patient s psychological condition can not be as easily observed, so
it is up to the healthcare professional to ask and monitor any recognised changes in a patient s
behaviour (DH 2010b). I was aware of the positive effects that oxygen therapy could have on a patient
s health and wellbeing, but lacked the necessary knowledge regarding the negative effects of
administering an inaccurate amount of oxygen to a patient (NMC 2006e). Oxygen is potentially a
dangerous drug if administered inaccurately, for example over
oxygenation of a patient suffering from COPD can result in patient fatality (National Patient Safety
Agency 2009a). My mentor briefly explained how some patient s respiratory drive depends on their
level of hypoxia rather than the normal dependency on hypercapnia and this is why patient s with
COPD should be given oxygen with caution as it can

Recycling Bins In Public Places Essay
This image may seem familiar. Walking down the street and noticing endless rows of trash cans in
which to throw away your garbage. But have you ever thought about why there aren t many recycling
bins in public places. The reason for this is that the prices of recycling are booming. In turn, less and
less people are wanting to pay these extreme prices. The lack of recycling in public places leads to
many problems like high costs of production, loss of resources, land overfill, and numerous more.
Because there aren t many recycling bins in public places, people aren t as encouraged to recycle
which is harmful for the environment. Some may argue that a greater amount of people recycle
because the availability of recycling is increasing year by year. But still, ...according to Ipsos Public
Affairs survey, only half of adults recycle daily (Schumaker 1). WIth so few people recycling, there
are more ways that we are destroying our environment. Since these adults aren t recycling, our youth
will continue to follow their ways and will expand the problem. Teaching children, who are our future,
to recycle gives our country a better chance at improving our environment. The ratio from trash bins to
recycling bins is yet to be remotely balanced. There are plenty more trash cans at public venues
compared to recycling bins. If there were more recycling bins in public places, then it would motivate
more people to recycle. The United States needs to figure out a method to make more

Krishna s World View
The Bhagavad Gita uses the conversation between Pandava Prince Arjuna and his guide Lord Krishna
to portray Hinduism world view and Krishna s view on the different fundamental questions. When he
s facing a war, Arjuna is guided by Krishna to be a selfless leader, and dedication to the cause.
Origin, this fundamental question focuses on why is there something rather than nothing. One
important aspect of the Krishna world view is that, there is one ultimate reality in which everything
was already in existence. The Brahman, as the ultimate reality is known, is what manifested anything
that has been created. Thus, as it is stated in Rigveda, that existence was ... Show more content on

You cannot make out what exists in it, yet it is there. It is this very fineness which ensouls this entire

not born; it will never die and thus, the spirit kills not, not it will be killed. (2.16) in the same section,
he also described the ones who thinks a spirit kills and the ones who think a spirit can be killed, are
both ignorant. The spirit then in Krishna s view, is immortal and everlasting. * As the prince asked
Lord Krishna on whether he should kill for the war, Krishna used the arguments above and more to
show that there would be transcendence and so on, and when a person is killed , his or her spirit would

Krishna also addressed the issue of the attachment over reality. * Krishna pointed out that most people
are afraid of death, and that the ignorance described previously is what preventing them from
achieving immortality. Only those who have realized that the impermanent has no reality and the
reality lies in the eternal; and have seen the boundary between these two would have attained the end
of all knowledge. (Bahagavad Gita 2.15) * He sees that the human seeks only the gratification of

Augustus Of The Roman Empire
Julius Cesar, the Dictator of the Roman Empire adopted his grandnephew, also known as Octavian in
his will. After Cesar was assassinated Augustus wanted nothing more than to claim his inheritance and
to avenge his slain father (Cole Symes). This vengeance left constant warfare that came to an end after
the victory at Actium. At this point in time Rome was no longer a republic. Augustus ruled for four
years as an independent citizen then accepted his title as emperor. Augustus was the first roman
emperor and led Rome s transformation from republic to empire. Augustus never claimed the title as
emperor for himself, but rather tried to lead the country as best as he could, while still leaving limited
power to the people. Augustus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Augustus also reformed the religious systems in Rome that had been previously destroyed by constant
warfare. Augustus thought that such a reform of the old religion, and a renewed trust in the traditional
gods would help restore the confidence of the people(Wasson, 2016). Augustus also revived the
priesthoods in Rome and ended up being appointed as the Pontifex Maximus(Fife, 2012). This newly
acquired position left Augustus as the ruler of the Roman Empire secularly and religiously. Now that
Augustus had two highly influential roles he had unprecedented power and control over two separate
spheres. This high amount of power could have been easily abused, but it was not. Augustus revived
the Ludi Secularse which was a religious celebration that occurred once every one hundred and ten
years. Augustus was involved in the revived secular games which had been omitted because of the
disturbances of the civil war(McDermott). Augustus also guided the construction of an Imperial Cult.
This Imperial Cult was made for worship of the Emperor as a god. Some may say this is egotistical
since he himself is the Emperor, but he was made the Pontifex Maximus, and was a true savior to
Rome. Augustus also aided in the construction of a multitude of the city s ancient temples,

House Of The Spirits Essay
From the first lines of The House of the Spirits, Allende uses the technique of a feminized magical
realism to pull the reader into a political historical novel. Alba Trueba from Allende s The House of
the Spirits is an effective example of this revolutionary female narration. Her story, which includes her
female relatives viewpoints and excludes Trueba s version, is a direct block to Trueba s egotistic, stiff,
and not exactly true version of events. Her woman centered narration is, further, a symbol of the
triumph of women s expression and their revision of patriarchal and authoritarian history. Alba

she is tapping into collective memory to evoke and interpret the stories and voices of the past and to
learn how best to proceed with her own individual life experience (Frick 29). Clara, Alba s
grandmother, was already in the habit of documenting significant events and afterward, when she was
voiceless on purpose, she also detailed insignificances, never suspecting that fifty years later, Alba, her
granddaughter, would use her notebooks to regain the past and overcome fears. She struggles, with her
grandmother s diaries, her mother s letters, and many other family documents, to assemble the family
s story in a way that joins events instead of just recording them. According to Alba and her female
relatives, direct history is not the only way to record events, and Alba s conscious narration of the

In Dan Moller An argument against marriage he makes the claim that marriage seems not to persevere
through the hardships and falls fault to time. I believe with this statement because once again I can
relate to this particular topic to my own life in the fact that I grew up with divorced parents. According
to Moller, most marriages tend to fall through as backlash of ongoing time with each other s and this
in fact is the reason my parents signed their divorce papers. I also believe an abundant amount of
people in society concurs with this statement considering most people know of a friend, colleague,

Rejection In Edward Scissorhands
Life is not always fair. Many times people have been turned down, had the door slammed in their
faces or have been told, No . But it is this rejection that helps people get back on their feet. Sometimes
it is this rejection that builds strength and character in the person. In the movie Edward Scissorhands,
Tim Burton (the director) has shown that rejection affects everyone, but it can help to make some
people stronger and brings out a side of the person that wasn t there before. People are rejected every
day, sometimes based purely on how they look or act. In today s society, it is quite common for people
to be refused, if they decide to be different. In Edward Scissorhands Edward is looked at as though he

Jaws
When most of the world hears the iconic song from the movie Jaws, their mind automatically shifts to
images of giant sharks and severed limbs. Thanks to the film, many people boycotted beaches and
mothers strictly kept their children away from open waters; triggering a massive cloud of fear and
ignorance that would consume most, if not all, of the world. Jaws coated the general public s
perception of sharks with a curtain of blood and fear, vilifying them for decades to come. With the
films debut in 1975, it kick started a tidal wave of mass hysteria and paranoia, and as a result the
public s attitudes on sharks plummeted as fast and as deep as the titanic. Not many people ... Show

While most people were gathering their torches and sharpening their pitch forks, set on destroying the
oceans equivalent of a troll, those of a different nature began to group together and invest countless
amounts of time and money to learn more about them. In the wake of Jaws, a whole constellation of
dedicated shark research programs were begun or renewed. This resulted in numerous scientific
conferences to allow researchers to share their results and collaborate on more ambitious projects.
Rather than putting their prime focus on shark attacks, these meetings concentrated on shark
systematics, physiology, life history, ecology, fisheries management and conservation. It is doubtful
that this much fascination, be it fearful or curious, and funding would have had been available to
support modern shark research had it not been for Jaws. In fact, Authors Nancy Knowlton, and Wend
Benchly, states in an article on Smithsonian.com called, The State of Sharks, 40 years after, that Rules
and policies were designed to protect sharks includes shark sanctuaries, banning of shark fining (the
taking of just the valuable fins and discarding the often still living shark), prohibitions on selling and
shipping of shark products and changes in fishing gear that reduce the likelihood of sharks being
caught by mistake. Wendy Benchly is the wife to Peter Bradford Benchly, author of Jaws.

Research has proven that those under the age of twenty one are more likely to be heavy or binge
drinkers and more specifically, twenty two percent of all students under the age of twenty one are
binge drinkers. There are many beliefs on what is to blame for the irresponsible drinking habits of
these teenagers. One popular belief is that because they re not drinking with other adults or
experienced drinkers they are not being guided into the proper direction to being responsible drinkers.
However, the main reason is the lack of education on the topic. D.A.R.E. ® is a program executed
through local Police Stations that does a Drug Abuse Resistance Education program for a large array
of age groups. The program teaches the students about the decisions they have to make in the future
and the harms of drugs and alcohol and they teach students in the elementary, middle, and high
schools all across the nation. The problem with this program is that they only present their education
program once through the course of every student s public school experience.
There is a program that is far better than D.A.R.E. ® that can be paired with or implemented in the

The Boxing Day Tsunami And The Real World Tsunami
Tsunamis are unfortunate events that humanity will have to deal with for eternity. They one of the
most versatile forms of a natural disaster, as they can be caused by a rockslide, underwater earthquake,
certain volcanic eruptions, or a high velocity impact of a sizeable object within a body of water (1).
The media and scientific research has done a sufficient job in covering real world tsunamis and relief
efforts, which in turn has help trigger natural human curiosity regarding the subject. The film industry
has capitalized off of this, and has made a numerous amount of movies either based on, or featuring
these devastating waves. As depicted through real events and in the movies, tsunamis generally
behave in the same manner, yet each one has a different speed and height due to various factors.
Furthermore, every location of possible impact treats the way they prepare and react to a disaster
differently. Through the examination of the real life Boxing Day Tsunami, and the fictional tsunami in
Roar Uthaug s The Wave, these claims can be further expanded upon and reinforced.
December 26, 2004 is a date that will live in infamy, and has personal value for millions of people
around the world. What started out as a fine day in Southeast Asia, would turn into a catastrophic
nightmare that would go on to be dubbed the Boxing Day Tsunami. The tsunami was triggered by an
underwater earthquake that ranks fourth all time in terms of seismic measurements. On a portion of

The Cherokee Kid Research Paper
The Apache Kid, also known as Haskay bay nay ntayl from birth, was a White Mountain Apache. He

Special Needs Trust Essay
A Special Needs Trust in Southington CT, often referred to as a Supplemental Needs Trust in
Southington CT, is a special type of trust intended for use with individuals who are either mentally or
physically disabled. The trust is written in a manner that allows the individual to use property reserved
for his or her benefit, without interfering with their ability to obtain essential government benefits that
are needs based. In addition, the trust offers administrative benefits, by allowing the holding and
management of property intended for use by the beneficiary in situations where he or she doesn t have
the proper legal capacity to manage their financial matters. The Preservation Of Government Benefits
Many benefits provided by the government are handled on a need basis. As a result, individuals who
have a number of assets may find they don t qualify for the assistance they need. They are then forced
to sell the assets to obtain the needed care and, when the assets are depleted, the government programs
step in. The supplemental needs trust preserves these assets while allowing the individual to obtain
government assistance. When included in a trust of this type, the assets do not count for the purpose of
needs based benefits. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Power Of Power In Lord Of The Flies By J. D. Salinger
There is a famous quote by David Brin which states: It is said that power corrupts. But actually it s
more true that power attracts the corruptible. The sane are usually attracted by other things than power.
This quote means that not everyone can be corrupted, but sometimes, people are too weak to handle
the pressure. Additionally, power comes in many forms, but one way that really stands out is when it
boils down to influence on other people. Furthermore, in real life and in novels, power often corrupts
people and characters. In both the novels Lord of the Flies by William Golding and Catcher in the Rye
by J.D Salinger, power has the ability to bring out the worst qualities in human nature in the
antagonists, a concept that can be also be applied.

Examples Of Romanticism In Grendel Chapter 4
One movement I observed throughout chapter 4 of Grendel is romanticism. Romanticism is an
intellectual movement that where the artist s emotions toward his audience is the true. In addition,
Gardener described how people showed the positive aspects of the world through creative ideas such
as music, poetry, and images. On page 49, Gardener s use of romanticism is when Grendel noticed
how the Shaper reshaped the world. In addition, He stared strange eyed at the mindless world and
turns dry sticks to gold (Gardener). This quote clearly exemplifies romanticism to show that the
Shaper had influenced the Danes about the positive world he envisioned after the war in Chapter 3. In
order to show his vision that he said through his songs, he brought the idea of a new meadhall that

He knew the Shaper was tricking the people to believe in him. Another example of Gardner s use of
romanticism is the Shaper told the story about the ancient feud between two brothers which split the
entire world between darkness and light (Gardener, pg. 50). This quote exemplifies romanticism as the
allegory of Cain and Abel. The Shaper represented Cain as darkness and Abel as the light. Grendel
honestly admitted he was the dark side because he was a descendant of Cain. Because the Shaper s
words were powerful, it made Grendel depressed. He knew that he was cursed by God, due to the
curse he inherited from Cain. However, he looked at the corpse where the man was slaughtered by a
group of men in order to conclude that both him and men were sinful and imperfect. As proof, Grendel
had seen humans kill each other throughout chapter 1 4. As the darkness is increased through Grendel
s heart, Grendel now feels the Shaper s foolishness towards tricking the humans, foreseeing a plan to
destroy humanity. John Gardner implemented romanticism in order to show that romanticism can lead
people to

An Analysis of The Pilgrim’s Progress Essay
A question has arisen concerning the conflicts used in John Bunyan s The Pilgrims Progress; the first
half of the book was originally published in sixteen seventy eight while the second half was published
in sixteen eighty four. Guilt, deception, shame, and fear are all major conflicts the author uses that
challenge the main characters, Christian and Christiana, on their journey to the celestial city. Perhaps
the hardest conflict Bunyan has Christian and his wife face is guilt. John Bunyan s books have been
some of the most popular books in Christian society. The novel itself has even been called second to
the bible. (Second is referring to the number of copies that have been sold.) While the book itself has

The modern version of the book is similar to a combination of old world and modern English. Pilgrim
s Progress uses hymns as a foreshadowing event alluding to a minor character s demise or a good
event. John Bunyan starts the book off as if the narrator is sleeping and has a dream. He also uses
imagery from the bible which includes the celestial city and the river of death. Bunyan grew up in a
home that was poor but he still had a love for the gospel. At one point in his life he was arrested for
preaching the gospel without being licensed to preach. The story is written in first person so it is read
like the story is being told to the reader. The limitations of the narrator would most likely be that he is
not able to describe the feelings of the dream characters with enough accuracy. The reason for this is
the narrator is experiencing a dream but he is not actually feeling the feelings that the dream character
is feeling. The language of the book itself started off in old English but has been updated throughout
the ages so that it is in modern English. A limitation the narrator has is he does not know what will
happen in the future and he cannot influence the outcome of the story. An example of symbolism
would be the burden that Christian has to carry on part of his journey. His burden represents the sins
that he has committed and the burden will only fall

Quentin Tarantino Blood, gore, and a lot of language; you will find this is most Quentin Tarantino

fantastic screenplay writer, but he also pushes the limit of intense plots of drama, and mostly violence.

unique directors/writers, today. Born March 27, 1963, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Quentin Jerome

This is an amazing achievement, and it is astonishing, with his lack of education. The movies that
Tarantino makes are not just violent, but have a great storyline, which he writes. His most famous
movies include: Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, From Dusk Till Dawn, Kill Bill Vol. 1 2, and the
newest one, Inglourious Basterds (IMDb). Other, less famous ones are: Jackie Brown and Grindhouse
(a double feature consisting of Planet Terror, and Death Proof) (IMDb). To this day, people still talk
about how great of a movie Pulp Fiction is. These movies are well known for their graphic violence,
and sometimes profanity. Most violence in Tarantino s movies is of shootings, but not in all cases. In
Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction the violence consists of graphic, detailed, hard to watch gun scenes.
These are exceptionally gory, and are usually on screen. In his Kill Bill series, it is mostly death by
sword, the weapon of choice for the main character. Inglourious Basterds is a whole different ball
field. No pun intended, since a man is beaten to death with a baseball bat in this particular movie. The
deaths vary from graphic shootings, with lots of blood splatter, to carving swastikas into men s heads,
to shooting an already dead man s face apart in explicit, extremely life like detail. The twisted mind of
Quentin Tarantino allows him to write, direct, and watch these scenes with no sort of cringe, but

Immigrants of German, Irish, Scottish, and Welsh descent were moving to the North Carolina
backcountry that the English colonists were fleeing to from New England high land prices, which
increased the population of the area. This seemed ideal because the backcountry land was cheap and

Shay s Rebellion of Massachusetts was caused from post war recession, lack of payment of army

CHAPTER THREE
FLOW ASSURANCE MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES
As stated earlier in the introductory part of this work, Flow assurance challenges are indeed a great
concern to the oil and gas industry. Starting from the formation, through processing and sales, flow
assurance management strategies has to be carefully designed in order to prevent having problems
with fluid flow.
Remediation of hydrates or wax in flowlines and pipelines poses greater challenge and loss of money
to the oil industry. This is because, blockage point location is a difficult job itself at first, and if
blockage is far away from an access point, such as riser, it may be difficult to reach it with chemicals

Thermodynamic inhibitors are chemical compounds added in high concentrations (10 60wt.%) to alter
the hydrate and wax formation and deposition conditions. This is still the widest method used
worldwide, but its associated costs, environmental concerns and operational complexity have made
researchers look for different approach to the problem (J.E Paez et al 2001). Injection of chemical is
used for pipelines with length ranging from 10 km to 200 km (Gudmundsson 2012 and Ilahi 2006).
Chemical hydrate inhibitors can be grouped into two main categories: The Thermodynamic Hydrate

Glucose Concentration In Glucose Lab Report
Lukasz Kowalski, 7912483, Biological and Forensic Sciences Group G
Determining glucose concentration in urine sample using spectrophotometer and GOD PAP assay.
Introduction
The aim of this experiment was to determine if glucose is present in the urine sample and determine
its concentration. Comparison between different methods of concentration determination has been
carried out as a part of experiment.
Glucose is main energy source for every human. It is commonly found in blood and can be stored in
liver and skeletal muscles in form of glycogen (Graham 2018). Structural wise, it is a hexose that
occurs in the nature in a D form and has 16 stereoisomers. It has been isolated for the first time by
Andreas Marggraf in 1747 (Martini 2014). As a monosaccharide, it is a part of polysaccharides such
as lactose, sucrose, maltose, cellulose and glycogen. Glucose is the most common aldohexose amongst
living organisms because of its low glycation rate (Bunn 1981).
As a crucial energy source, glucose should not be excreted in any way. However, if blood glucose
level too high and body is not able to reabsorb it, the glucose can be excreted in the urine. It is mainly
indicative of diabetes mellitus (Graham 2018).
Spectrophotometry is a method of measurement of matter absorbance at different wave radiation
frequencies and lengths (Houck 2015). It covers the magnetic spectrum from 185nm to 15000nm

What Is The Meaning Of Double Effect
The meaning of double of effect can be quite controversial. The principle of double effect teaches that
one might perform a good action even if foreseen that a bad effect might occur (Becker, n.d).
However, this is based on four principles which involves that the action has to be good itself, that the
bad result was not directly intended, that the good result is not a direct casual result from the bad
result, and that the good result is proportionate to the bad result (Becker, n.d). In this case of the

In some people with ALS, the parts of the brain that allow us to think, remember, and learn also are
affected by the disease (Labby). C. Strictly speaking, ALS involves degeneration and death of both
upper and lower motor neurons. While most patients have clear loss of both types of motor neurons,
some patients have greater loss of upper motor neurons, while other patients have greater loss of lower
motor. These differences do not change the diagnosis. In these circumstances, the more general term
motor neuron disease is appropriate (MDA). D. According to the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy
Association), the diagnosis of ALS is a clinical diagnosis, meaning there is no specific test for it.
Often, tests will be administered to rule out illnesses with similar symptoms. These may include an
MRI of the brain or spinal cord, an electromyography (EMG) study of nerve and muscle function, and
a variety of blood and urine tests. (Transition: Now that we know a little about what ALS is, let s talk
a little bit about who can get ALS .) II. Who can be affected by ALS. A. Although this disease can
strike anyone, it is extremely rare in kids. According to the ALS Association, most people who

Nationalist movements have been present since the start of colonial rule and the eminent failure of
these nationalist movements before the onset of World War Two have not gone un noticed by
historians. nationalism is linked with the idea of progress, a progress which man himself can induce or

they governed ensure that the local people would not demand for the sovereignty of their state.
However a select few revolutionaries formed nationalist movements in order to regain the

Twenty one year olds are mature enough to make important decisions such as voting. Most countries
around the world have established a voting age. Voting is a topic of heated debate in the United States
due to difference of opinions between the democrat and republican parties. In the United States the
voting age has been reduced from twenty one years old to eighteen years old. Even though the voting
age was reduced, some people have been lobbying in order to reduce the voting age to sixteen.
Reducing the legal age for voting is a bad idea, because the younger generation lacks the capability of
having an informed decision for voting. Although some people believed that the legal voting age
should be lower than eighteen, on the other hand others believe it should be returned to twenty one.
The legal voting age should be returned to twenty one because the majority of people over twenty one
are more educated about politics than an eighteen year old. People who are over twenty one are not
easily influenced by people s opinions and are more capable of evaluating future outcomes.
The legal voting age should be returned to twenty one, because people over twenty one are more
educated about politics. People under the age of twenty one tend to focus more on social media and
school. However, most people under the age of twenty one do not understand how much politics and
government affects their life. If you go to any college campus and talk with eighteen year old student,
you may find out

The Pros And Cons Of The IMF In Pakistan
The IMF has a history with the country of Pakistan which may be viewed as very problematic for the
people of the country depending on who you ask. In my research for one specific problem to write
about pertaining this issue, I decided to encompass the entire project of Pakistan, which to many
would be considered a massive failure on the part of the IMF and the ruling elite class of Pakistan.
Pakistan gained its independence in 1947, and was mostly under martial law until 1984, four years
before the IMF started granting loans to Pakistan that would never be repaid. Despite having a historic
culture and ample natural resources, Pakistan as a country cannot seem to keep it s head above water
financially. Doctor Ehtisham Ahmad of the London School of Economics says, 11 out of 12 IMF
programs since 1988 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first is that they did not come in even increments. Shortly after the loans were given conditions
would stabilize, but then according to Dr. Ehtisham Ahmad, when these inflows declined, the
economy quickly headed towards fiscal and balance of payments crises. (Ahmad, E., Mohammed, A.,
2012). It is hard for industry to ever stabilize when you are constantly battling credit crises. Since the
country can t always meet the conditions of the loans from the IMF, the US has gleefully stepped up to
lend the country money, but at what cost? According to Dr. Ehtisham Ahmad, The foundation of the
relationship with the US is based on Pakistan s strategic location at the mouth of the Persian Gulf .
(Ahmad, E., Mohammed, A., 2012). So the IMF is setting Pakistan up for failure with it s stop and go
lending, allowing the US to enter the picture as a lender in return for certain political favors involving
the land. So in it s series of loans to Pakistan, it has stripped the independence from the country and
helped other nations come in to make decisions involving it s

Perception of the World and False Images from White Noise
Don DeLillo s award winning novel White Noise takes the idea of the supremacy of false images to
the extreme. Through various scenarios, such as the airborne toxic event and the Dylar dilemma,
DeLillo critiques contemporary society s over dependence on false images. The characters in the novel
that exemplify this over dependence appear humorous on one hand, yet tragic on the other. The humor
comes from the novel s characters behaving like cartoon characters who continually get hurt, but keep
coming back for more. The novel s characters keep getting hurt by false images, yet continue to
believe in them, causing the reader to smack his or her head in astonishment. ... Show more content on

Jack, as a department head, must wear a black academic robe while at the college. He likes the idea,
especially the flourish that results from him checking his watch, saying, Decorative gestures add
romance to a life (9). Jack, speaking of Hitler, says, Some people put on a uniform and feel bigger,
stronger, safer (63). I believe he is also talking about himself. Then there is the matter of his name.
Jack, at the advice of the chancellor, had changed his name to J.A.K. Gladney by inventing an extra
initial. The chancellor also told him to gain weight to look more formidable. He wanted me to grow
out into Hitler. If I could become more ugly, he seemed to be suggesting, it would help my career
enormously (17). Jack s false image is thus threefold: his name, his size and his dress. By projecting
this image, Jack feels trustworthy, strong and important. Jack is not the only one projecting false
images. Jack seems to be a magnet for those projecting false images. It was curious how I kept
stumbling into the company of lives in intelligence, he utters when pondering the fact that two of his
ex wives led secret lives (213). I have to wonder if his desire to project a false image attracts him (or
makes him attractive) to those doing likewise. Jack had named his son Heinrich because it was a
forceful name, a strong name. It has a kind of authority (63). Granted Heinrich had no control over his
name at the time it was

The reason why the ready made Laravel templates are mainly for an Admin Panel and not the website
itself
Laravel is open source framework that is available as a free download. It implements the MVC (model
view controller) architecture pattern. Like any other PHP framework Laravel is also feature rich and
offers plenty of functions and tools ready to implement. For example, almost every website requires
an authentication or login system. Laravel has this inbuilt and ready to implement thus saving valuable
development time.
Features of Laravel Framework
Laravel 5.4 was released recently and it came with many new features. Laravel has always been ...

Types of websites developed using Laravel Framework
There are many types of websites that can be build using the Laravel framework. This includes blogs,
content management websites, eCommerce websites, travel websites and many other custom websites.
The website https://www.deltanettravel.gr/ is a travel website for Greece and has been developed
using Laravel. This is a dynamic website with and admin panel and a front end for the visitors.
Another website developed using Laravel is http://myrank.co.in/. This too is a dynamic website and do

that has been developed using Laravel.
There are many types of websites developed using the Laravel Framework, but it usually will not be a
simple website. A simple website that does not have any dynamic features or very few dynamic
features will usually not be developed using Laravel framework or any PHP framework for that
matter.
Hence there are many templates available for the Laravel Admin Panel. These are from popular
websites online like the Code Canyon and Theme Forest and many more. These frameworks allow

The Importance Of Health Care In Arkansas
Health care in Arkansas is severely limited, but a few changes in the spending of the state s funding
could improve the quality and quantity of health facilities around the state. Making Arkansas general
public more aware of the disparities involving health care within the state could open the door for
filling the needed positions, as Arkansas also has a significant unemployment rate. Robert Bowman,
leading researcher in rural medical education, is quoted as saying, It is no longer about establishing
family medicine as a discipline... It is about the kind of health care delivered in the United States and
our role in shaping the caregiver that will best serve our patients. This is no easy task because the
general awareness of these issues is low (par. 19). It would be much easier to shift federal spending
rather than trying to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Funding more medical programs in Arkansas, and maximizing the knowledge students have about
how to successfully complete a health care program in the state could give students the knowledge
they need to fill the abundance of available health care positions. As of today, there are only two
known programs for education regarding medical professions, and both are in Pulaski County, but
they are aimed at juniors or seniors, and it is hard to find informational health care programs in other
parts of Arkansas, or for younger students in Arkansas (Bureau of Legislative Research 15). The
University of Arkansas is quoted as saying, by 2022, it s estimated that 1,000,000 new jobs will be

Mustang Five Girls
Hamed Rabah Mustang is a Turkish film about five girls growing up in a small and conservative
Turkish town. In this community arranged marriage is common, and the girls are expected to get
wedded to a man their family decides for them. The production then becomes a journey about gaining
freedom, as the two younger sisters try to escape to Istanbul. The title Mustang could be a reference to
the girls desire to free like a horse roaming around the countryside, not meant to be fenced in. This is
similar to the house of the sisters, because slowly the parents put more restrictions on the home to
make it more like a prison. One scene that stood out was at the end of the movie when Lale climbed a
fence to escape her house, and hid on top of it

  • 2. Was Hitler Responsible For The Holocaust Essay In spite of Adolf Hitler s critical role in the Holocaust, he was not directly responsible for the majority of the horrors that the events created. All of Germany had a solid reason for the persecution, if not extreme terrors that it included. After the conclusion of World War One and the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was launched into a massive depression that devastated the country. Those who are suffering are bound to reach a state of anger at some point, and at the beginning they were right to feel this sentiment. The neighboring nations had set unfair and cruel requirements for Germany in the Treaty of Versailles, which ruined their economy, resulting in massive inflation and extreme poverty. Thus, Germany was angry. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many Nazis were unnecessarily cruel to their prisoners and those they watched over. Citizens and Nazis alike participated in Kristallnacht, even though little punishment would follow those who did not take part as long as they did not protest. Mengele, for example, was not required by law to perform cruel and unusual experiments on his people. Eichmann, Himmler, Jeckeln, Ilse Koch. These people were not followers, they were leaders. Ilse Koch skinned her inmates at Buchenwald and used their skins as pillow cushions and book covers. She encouraged the rape, murder, and torture of her girls, thinking it to be great fun (whatculture.com 2). Jeckeln developed a system, force the prisoners to dig a massive ditch, strip, lay down in the ditch, and be shot in their self dug grave (whatculture.com 1). Jeckeln organised Babi Yar, where laughing soldiers beat the Jews to death and shot them in Jeckeln s favorite way. It was said of Babi Yar that, Those who hesitated had their clothes ripped off of them by force, and were kicked and struck with knuckledusters or clubs by the Germans, who seemed to be drunk with fury in a sadistic sort of rage (Anatoli 106). These malevolent people led to horrors not required nor even imagined by Hitler. They came only from the brains of these malicious, sadistic monsters. • 3. Enron Oxley Act ( Sox ) Executive Summary Over the last two decades the consulting practices within the Big Four accounting firms saw a variety of changes take place. This began when the accounting world was faced with multiple scandals around the turn of the century, which prompted the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX). SOX mandated that public accounting firms could no longer provide both audit and consulting services to the same client. This forced the firms to brainstorm new ways to comply with the laws and standards, and overtime they created innovative ways to adhere to regulations. We examine the issues leading up to the new regulations, the Big Four firms reactions to the new regulations, and how consulting rebounded after SOX. We also analyzed what the consulting line of service at the Big Four will look like in the future and discuss why the Big Four firms want to preserve a presence in the consulting business. Overall, our research suggests that the consulting sector is lucrative, and the firms need revenues from non audit clients in order to continue to grow their business. Management Consulting s Fall to SOX The management consulting industry first gained popularity in the 1930s with the demand for advice on finance, strategy, and organizational design because of various government interventions. After World War 2, the development of globalization contributed to the boom in consulting industry.(O Mahoney, 2010) Also, the increasing demand for strategy and information technology ... • 4. A Change Of A Chromosome Number A change in a chromosome number is known as Aneuploidy. Aneuploidy is a genetic condition where an organism acquires fewer or more chromosomes than the normal diploid number. A monosomic organism has one less than the diploid number of chromosomes meaning the human zygote will have 45 chromosomes. A trisomic organism has one more than the diploid number of number of chromosomes i.e. the organism will now have 47 set of chromosome meaning there are three homologous copies of one chromosome. It can develop in many ways. For example, during mitosis a centromere can be deleted as a result a chromosome can be lost. Aneuploidy usually alters the phenotype drastically because it alters chromosome number but not the DNA sequence. Between 75 and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gene alterations on an organism have profound effects on both cellular and physiological levels. Aneuploidy can be present in two ways if its present in only certain cells its known as somatic aneuploidy but its its found in all of the cells then its called constitutional aneuploidy. The effects of constitutional aneuploidy can be lethal. In humans, a condition known as down syndrome is caused is due to third copy of chromosome 21 and a third copy in any autosome will always result in childhood problems. (Hassold TJ, 1984). They can survive but will have significant health problems and will be mentally affected. Also, the absence of any autosomal chromosomes can lead to embryonic death. One of the basic consequences of aneuploidy is the genomic instability. Genomic instability refers to the change initiated during the life cycle of a cell. Genetic instability is hallmark of aneuploidy that leads to wide range of changes in the genome of the organisms. These changes can cause serious effects to the organism these include the chromosome alterations, chromosomal mutations. The Structural rearrangements of chromosomes are thought to develop from the repair of double strand DNA breaks (DSB) by non homologous end joining (NHEJ) pathway and its variant, alternative NHEJ (also known as backup NHEJ) (Quinlan and Hall, 2012). During a cell division, it is believed that genomic instability is minimized by four major mechanisms, which include chromosome segregation in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Silence By Margaret Atwood Silence In the romance Silence, Silence is drawn between which gender to associate herself as. Throughout the story Silence is found drawn between nature and nurture. She shows the reader that gender is not only based on biological aspects. She accomplishes much as a knight and is able to disprove the idea that only men can complete certain tasks, therefor fighting for women rights. Silence struggles with handling certain situations due to her biological gender, and ultimately comes to the conclusion that a persons biological gender overcomes the gender one assumes when nurtured in that fashion. The romance shows the influence of gender in regards to nature and the way one is nurtured, furthermore showing how cross dressing effects gender roles. The ... While this is Sarah Roche Mahdi s translation many others translate Et li values qui est mescine (3785) as the boy who is a girl . This shows that the narrator prefers referring to Silence with a masculine gender. This is also seen through the narrators use of gender pronouns, using he/his to refer to Silence. This passage hints to the reader that in fact appearance, behavior, and accomplishments reveal gender more than Silence s biologically sex. Due to gender being seen as binary in medieval times, Silence struggles determine the appropriate way to behave. This is seen when Queen Eufeme makes advances on him and he is confused on how to react, because his true gender is ambiguous since in society, in medieval times, gender was depended on genitalia and the ability to reproduce. It is obvious to the reader that Silence can not reproduce making his situation with Queen Eufeme so awkward. The theme of suppressing natural impulses is very common is Old French literature. It is seen in Chretien de Troyes Perceval when a hero tries to suppress his impulse for compassion in order to fulfill what he believed to have been courtly behaviors. This is very similar to Silence s situation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

America, with the American dream, prides itself in its operation of a meritocracy. Meritocracy is the social structure that rewards merit. In the US, the system of meritocracy is designed to provide hope and equal opportunity for people to rise to success. However with the system of meritocracy in place, the United State s income gap continues to rise. What is social psychology, you might ask? In short, it represents and defines an individual s actions when the said individual is placed in a social situation. It also defines how you choose to act, often subconsciously, in the face of others. The science of social psychology is a youthful one, it s existence barely a century old. The real world impacts of this trial are massive: By placing individuals in groups, there bears the risk of conformity overtaking the free will of the group through the want of the individual to fit in, known as normative influence, or the clouding of their judgement through believing that the group has the better answer, known as informational influence. Before my recent clinical placement I had some awareness on how specific illnesses such as CODP could affect a patients breathing, hence impairing quality of life, however I did not realise the impact shortness of breath could have on a patients emotional and physical state. I was aware of the positive effects that oxygen therapy could have on a patient s health and wellbeing, but lacked the necessary knowledge regarding the negative effects of administering an inaccurate amount of oxygen to a patient (NMC 2006e). Oxygen is potentially a dangerous drug if administered inaccurately, for example over oxygenation of a patient suffering from COPD can result in patient fatality (National Patient Safety Agency 2009a). But have you ever thought about why there aren t many recycling bins in public places. The reason for this is that the prices of recycling are booming. In turn, less and less people are wanting to pay these extreme prices. The lack of recycling in public places leads to many problems like high costs of production, loss of resources, land overfill, and numerous more. Because there aren t many recycling bins in public places, people aren t as encouraged to recycle which is harmful for the environment. Some may argue that a greater amount of people recycle because the availability of recycling is increasing year by year. But still, ...according to Ipsos Public Affairs survey, only half of adults recycle daily (Schumaker 1). WIth so few people recycling, there are more ways that we are destroying our environment. Since these adults aren t recycling, our youth will continue to follow their ways and will expand the problem. Teaching children, who are our future, to recycle gives our country a better chance at improving our environment. The ratio from trash bins to recycling bins is yet to be remotely balanced. This resulted in numerous scientific conferences to allow researchers to share their results and collaborate on more ambitious projects. Rather than putting their prime focus on shark attacks, these meetings concentrated on shark systematics, physiology, life history, ecology, fisheries management and conservation. It is doubtful that this much fascination, be it fearful or curious, and funding would have had been available to support modern shark research had it not been for Jaws. In fact, Authors Nancy Knowlton, and Wend Benchly, states in an article on Smithsonian.com called, The State of Sharks, 40 years after, that Rules and policies were designed to protect sharks includes shark sanctuaries, banning of shark fining (the taking of just the valuable fins and discarding the often still living shark), prohibitions on selling and shipping of shark products and changes in fishing gear that reduce the likelihood of sharks being caught by mistake. One popular belief is that because they re not drinking with other adults or experienced drinkers they are not being guided into the proper direction to being responsible drinkers. They one of the most versatile forms of a natural disaster, as they can be caused by a rockslide, underwater earthquake, certain volcanic eruptions, or a high velocity impact of a sizeable object within a body of water (1). The media and scientific research has done a sufficient job in covering real world tsunamis and relief efforts, which in turn has help trigger natural human curiosity regarding the subject. The film industry has capitalized off of this, and has made a numerous amount of movies either based on, or featuring these devastating waves. As depicted through real events and in the movies, tsunamis generally behave in the same manner, yet each one has a different speed and height due to various factors. Furthermore, every location of possible impact treats the way they prepare and react to a disaster differently. Through the examination of the real life Boxing Day Tsunami, and the fictional tsunami in Roar Uthaug s The Wave, these claims can be further expanded upon and reinforced. December 26, 2004 is a date that will live in infamy, and has personal value for millions of people around the world. Special Needs Trust Essay A Special Needs Trust in Southington CT, often referred to as a Supplemental Needs Trust in Southington CT, is a special type of trust intended for use with individuals who are either mentally or physically disabled. The trust is written in a manner that allows the individual to use property reserved for his or her benefit, without interfering with their ability to obtain essential government benefits that are needs based. In addition, the trust offers administrative benefits, by allowing the holding and management of property intended for use by the beneficiary in situations where he or she doesn t have the proper legal capacity to manage their financial matters. The Preservation Of Government Benefits Many benefits provided by the government are handled on a need basis. As a result, individuals who have a number of assets may find they don t qualify for the assistance they need. They are then forced to sell the assets to obtain the needed care and, when the assets are depleted, the government programs step in. But actually it s more true that power attracts the corruptible. The sane are usually attracted by other things than power. This quote means that not everyone can be corrupted, but sometimes, people are too weak to handle the pressure. Additionally, power comes in many forms, but one way that really stands out is when it boils down to influence on other people. Furthermore, in real life and in novels, power often corrupts people and characters. Romanticism is an intellectual movement that where the artist s emotions toward his audience is the true. In addition, Gardener described how people showed the positive aspects of the world through creative ideas such as music, poetry, and images. On page 49, Gardener s use of romanticism is when Grendel noticed how the Shaper reshaped the world. In addition, He stared strange eyed at the mindless world and turns dry sticks to gold (Gardener). Another example of Gardner s use of romanticism is the Shaper told the story about the ancient feud between two brothers which split the entire world between darkness and light (Gardener, pg. 50). This quote exemplifies romanticism as the allegory of Cain and Abel. The Shaper represented Cain as darkness and Abel as the light. Grendel honestly admitted he was the dark side because he was a descendant of Cain. Because the Shaper s words were powerful, it made Grendel depressed. He knew that he was cursed by God, due to the curse he inherited from Cain. However, he looked at the corpse where the man was slaughtered by a group of men in order to conclude that both him and men were sinful and imperfect. As proof, Grendel had seen humans kill each other throughout chapter 1 4. Guilt, deception, shame, and fear are all major conflicts the author uses that challenge the main characters, Christian and Christiana, on their journey to the celestial city. Perhaps the hardest conflict Bunyan has Christian and his wife face is guilt. John Bunyan s books have been some of the most popular books in Christian society. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The modern version of the book is similar to a combination of old world and modern English. Pilgrim s Progress uses hymns as a foreshadowing event alluding to a minor character s demise or a good event. John Bunyan starts the book off as if the narrator is sleeping and has a dream. He also uses imagery from the bible which includes the celestial city and the river of death. Bunyan grew up in a home that was poor but he still had a love for the gospel. At one point in his life he was arrested for preaching the gospel without being licensed to preach. The story is written in first person so it is read like the story is being told to the reader. The limitations of the narrator would most likely be that he is not able to describe the feelings of the dream characters with enough accuracy. The reason for this is the narrator is experiencing a dream but he is not actually feeling the feelings that the dream character is feeling. The language of the book itself started off in old English but has been updated throughout the ages so that it is in modern English. A limitation the narrator has is he does not know what will happen in the future and he cannot influence the outcome of the story. To this day, people still talk about how great of a movie Pulp Fiction is. These movies are well known for their graphic violence, and sometimes profanity. Most violence in Tarantino s movies is of shootings, but not in all cases. In Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction the violence consists of graphic, detailed, hard to watch gun scenes. These are exceptionally gory, and are usually on screen. In his Kill Bill series, it is mostly death by sword, the weapon of choice for the main character. Inglourious Basterds is a whole different ball field. No pun intended, since a man is beaten to death with a baseball bat in this particular movie. The deaths vary from graphic shootings, with lots of blood splatter, to carving swastikas into men s heads, to shooting an already dead man s face apart in explicit, extremely life like detail. Introduction The aim of this experiment was to determine if glucose is present in the urine sample and determine its concentration. Comparison between different methods of concentration determination has been carried out as a part of experiment. Glucose is main energy source for every human. It is commonly found in blood and can be stored in liver and skeletal muscles in form of glycogen (Graham 2018). Structural wise, it is a hexose that occurs in the nature in a D form and has 16 stereoisomers. It has been isolated for the first time by Andreas Marggraf in 1747 (Martini 2014). As a monosaccharide, it is a part of polysaccharides such as lactose, sucrose, maltose, cellulose and glycogen. Glucose is the most common aldohexose amongst living organisms because of its low glycation rate (Bunn 1981). As a crucial energy source, glucose should not be excreted in any way. However, if blood glucose level too high and body is not able to reabsorb it, the glucose can be excreted in the urine. It is mainly indicative of diabetes mellitus (Graham 2018). The rebellions were traditionally anti monarchy and were spontaneous and reactive, employing religious symbols and reacting against the monarchical government. The peasant rebellions in Thailand did not achieve anything as they were quickly suppressed, showing the intolerance of the colonial powers towards any traditional anti colonial nationalist movements. The radical anti colonial nationalist movements, using violence, strikes and demonstrations were more successful compared to their traditional counterparts, as its actions were much more prominent and it rallied under the idea of the creation of a nation state. However, the success of the radical anti colonial movement was limited as repression and suppression of any anti colonial movements by the pre war colonial rulers in the respective countries was very swift. • 39. The Voting Age Should Be Legal Twenty one year olds are mature enough to make important decisions such as voting. Most countries around the world have established a voting age. Voting is a topic of heated debate in the United States due to difference of opinions between the democrat and republican parties. In the United States the voting age has been reduced from twenty one years old to eighteen years old. Even though the voting age was reduced, some people have been lobbying in order to reduce the voting age to sixteen. Reducing the legal age for voting is a bad idea, because the younger generation lacks the capability of having an informed decision for voting. Although some people believed that the legal voting age should be lower than eighteen, on the other hand others believe it should be returned to twenty one. The legal voting age should be returned to twenty one because the majority of people over twenty one are more educated about politics than an eighteen year old. People who are over twenty one are not easily influenced by people s opinions and are more capable of evaluating future outcomes. The legal voting age should be returned to twenty one, because people over twenty one are more educated about politics. In my research for one specific problem to write about pertaining this issue, I decided to encompass the entire project of Pakistan, which to many would be considered a massive failure on the part of the IMF and the ruling elite class of Pakistan. Pakistan gained its independence in 1947, and was mostly under martial law until 1984, four years before the IMF started granting loans to Pakistan that would never be repaid. Despite having a historic culture and ample natural resources, Pakistan as a country cannot seem to keep it s head above water financially. Doctor Ehtisham Ahmad of the London School of Economics says, 11 out of 12 IMF programs since 1988 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first is that they did not come in even increments. Shortly after the loans were given conditions would stabilize, but then according to Dr. Ehtisham Ahmad, when these inflows declined, the economy quickly headed towards fiscal and balance of payments crises. (Ahmad, E., Mohammed, A., 2012). It is hard for industry to ever stabilize when you are constantly battling credit crises. Since the country can t always meet the conditions of the loans from the IMF, the US has gleefully stepped up to lend the country money, but at what cost? According to Dr. Ehtisham Ahmad, The foundation of the relationship with the US is based on Pakistan s strategic location at the mouth of the Persian Gulf . (Ahmad, E., Mohammed, A., 2012). So the IMF is setting Pakistan up for failure with it s stop and go lending, allowing the US to enter the picture as a lender in return for certain political favors involving the land. So in it s series of loans to Pakistan, it has stripped the independence from the country and helped other nations come in to make decisions involving it s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Perception of the World and False Images from White Noise... Perception of the World and False Images from White Noise Don DeLillo s award winning novel White Noise takes the idea of the supremacy of false images to the extreme. Through various scenarios, such as the airborne toxic event and the Dylar dilemma, DeLillo critiques contemporary society s over dependence on false images. The characters in the novel that exemplify this over dependence appear humorous on one hand, yet tragic on the other. The humor comes from the novel s characters behaving like cartoon characters who continually get hurt, but keep coming back for more. The novel s characters keep getting hurt by false images, yet continue to believe in them, causing the reader to smack his or her head in astonishment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jack, as a department head, must wear a black academic robe while at the college. Jack, speaking of Hitler, says, Some people put on a uniform and feel bigger, stronger, safer (63). I believe he is also talking about himself. Then there is the matter of his name. Jack, at the advice of the chancellor, had changed his name to J.A.K. Gladney by inventing an extra initial. The chancellor also told him to gain weight to look more formidable. He wanted me to grow out into Hitler. If I could become more ugly, he seemed to be suggesting, it would help my career enormously (17). Jack s false image is thus threefold: his name, his size and his dress. By projecting this image, Jack feels trustworthy, strong and important. Jack is not the only one projecting false images. Jack seems to be a magnet for those projecting false images. It was curious how I kept stumbling into the company of lives in intelligence, he utters when pondering the fact that two of his ex wives led secret lives (213). It has a kind of authority (63). Granted Heinrich had no control over his name at the time it was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Importance Of Health Care In Arkansas Health care in Arkansas is severely limited, but a few changes in the spending of the state s funding could improve the quality and quantity of health facilities around the state. Making Arkansas general public more aware of the disparities involving health care within the state could open the door for filling the needed positions, as Arkansas also has a significant unemployment rate. In this community arranged marriage is common, and the girls are expected to get wedded to a man their family decides for them. The production then becomes a journey about gaining freedom, as the two younger sisters try to escape to Istanbul.
