Analysis Of Rolf Strootman, Courts And Elites In The...
In Rolf Strootman s, Courts and Elites in the Hellenistic Empires, he discusses the Kingdoms of the
Hellenistic era, there courts, how kingdoms were developed, the importance of military might,
emphasis of the king as a war hero, king viewed as a liberator of cities and the development of
diplomatic relations with the cities that are being governed by the kings.1 Strootman looks at three
kingdoms to explain how the kingdoms in this empire function, they are the Ptolemies, Antigonids,
and the Seleukids. In these empires, Strootman explains how the kingdoms were mostly nomadic,
in the way that the court would constantly move around and follow the king where ever he went.2
So Strootman makes the case that the courts were not defined by a... Show more content on

Kingdoms in this era were subject to imperial claims (other than by the emperor), making the role
of emperor not absolute and in constant struggle to maintain control over, through negotiations or
confrontations.5
In this book, Strootman elaborates on how there are two essential diagrams for exposing political
assertiveness during the Hellenistic period shedding light on the function of imperialism, the first
describes the court as a political structure used to assert power but this idea is rivaled with the
importance of the theater and the important role it played in to support the role of the king and
his court against the courts of others. The other is describing capital and cities as tools of a power
play made by those of power (the king and his courtiers).6 These arguments as Strootman exposes
to the reader that based off of the ideas of Norbert Elias, Jurgen von Kruedener and Charles Tilly,
we are able to better understand the function of court during this era.7 Kruedener as mentioned by
Strootman explains how the role of favor with the king was vital to the attainment of power within
the kingdom, disbursement of land holdings, duties of offices and this was all done through
exposure before the king through the instrument of court. Although the king and his court

Signs Miracles Paper
SIGNS AND MIRACLES PAPER
Liberty University, November 27th , 2011
Introduction
Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of His disciples that are not written in this
book. But these are written so that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by
believing you may have life in His name. John 20:30 31 (HCSB)
In the Gospel of John there are eight recorded sign miracles that Jesus Christ performed. This paper
will briefly describe each miracle and how it reveals the deity of Jesus Christ.
Turning of Water into Wine
The first miracle Jesus performed was changing water into wine. He and His disciples arrived at a
wedding celebration that was already in progress. Mary, the mother of Jesus, came to Him and ...

He knew these people were not following Him because of who He was, but because of the
miracles they had seen or heard He had performed. Nevertheless, Jesus saw their need for food.
Jesus knew how He would handle the situation, but before He told His disciples, Andrew brought
a small boy and his lunch to Jesus. Although Andrew s had little faith concerning what could be
done with it, Jesus used his small faith and turned that tiny lunch into a feast for all the people.
He first prayed over the meal, which showed His dependence upon the Father.[7] This miracle
displayed Jesus power over food and His willingness to use whatever we willingly offer.[8] Jesus
tells the people I am the bread of life; he who comes to me will certainly not hunger, and he who
believes in me will certainly not thirst, ever. (John 6:35) Jesus claim to be the bread of life further
reveals His deity. As Morris says, The bread symbolism is complex, but clearly Jesus is the supplier
of our deepest needs. [9]
Jesus Walking on the Water
The next miracle recorded occurred later that same day. The disciples were waiting for Jesus,
who had withdrawn for prayer, before they set sail across the Sea of Galilee. He had not arrived
by dark, so they left without Him and set sail into a storm. Halfway through the journey, the sea
was raging and the disciples were afraid. Then Jesus came toward them, walking on the water, and

The Cherokee Indians
Introduction:
Have you ever heard of the Cherokee Indians? Sure you have! Just as a reminder, they are the
biggest tribe, and most known of out of all the Indian tribes there has ever been in the southeast.
They are very important to American History and helped shaped us to be the Americans we are
today, which is clearly what I ll be explaining in this paper. Throughout the paper, I ll tell you
everything you need to know about the Cherokee Indians and continue to relate to the thesis.
What was their shelter like?
To start off, most people figure that the Cherokee Indians lived in tee pees, but they did not. They
lived in homes built out of mud and other materials around. By the 1700s they lived in cozy log
cabins that they had built themselves. Although most of them lived in cabins, a tiny population
lived in clapboard houses. Other than the help from Sweden, the log cabins you and me see in the
Untied States of America in our daily life s originated from the Cherokee Indians! Isn t that cool?!
Where were they located?
The Cherokee Indians were mainly know for living in the southeastern part of the United States of
America. But they had moved around several different areas before they discovered their so
thought forever home. They lived there until they were forced to leave to Oklahoma during the
trail of tears. Lots of us have heard of the Smokey Mountains, and the Smokey Mountains is where
the Cherokee Indians were famous for living at. Now the area they

Pediatric Nurse Advantages And Disadvantages
The things I know about being a pediatric nurse is they are nurses that deal with children. They
care for children all the way through their adolescents. To become one you are required to get
your registered nurse license. You can get your associates or you can earn your bachelor s
degree. They earn an average of $33.23 and hour, depending on how experienced you are. I
know that becoming a nurse has a lot of pros and cons. From getting accepted into nursing school
to studying your butt off to make good grades. I would love to know more about other nurses
experience with becoming a nurse and how it has affected their lives. I would also like to know
more about the things nurses are required to do and what a usual day at the hospital is like.
Pediatric Nurse At any moment of the day a child is brought into this world. In order to make
sure these babies stay healthy, pediatric nurses are hired to care for the children. Pediatric nurses
have a high responsibility in the medical field. They work with children until their adulthood,
they provide screenings, and help with childhood diseases. There are many advantages as well as
disadvantages in becoming a pediatric nurse. Their are very important steps into becoming a
pediatric nurse as well. Although there are many advantages there are also several disadvantages
to this job. Such as dealing with emotional stress. Pediatric nurses work with babies most of the
time so it is very rare for them not to get attach to them. It can be

Timothy Tebow Reflection
Now, Timothy Tebow isn t a regular author, instead of telling non fiction stories, he worked to
write inspiring messages that uplifted the people around him ( Through). After he found
direction in his life again, he became so excited that he couldn t keep this wisdom to himself. So
how did he let the world know to never give up? In 2011 he released his first book titled Through
My Eyes ( Through). It would be in this book where Tebow would discuss everything about his
life in a very unique way. In Through My Eyes, Tebow would discuss everything about his life
up to that point, but that is not the main purpose of this story ( Through). It s within this
autobiography that he would discuss: religion, not giving up on life, how everyone is worth
more than they think, and to not give up on oneself when everyone else has ( Through). Tebow
would use his awesome literary skills to uplift and inspire everyone around him, rather than just
telling a simple story that not everyone may care about ( Through). It is in this manner that Tim
Tebow can gain a following where he can spread the good word of Jesus Christ and to let
everyone know that they are not alone in this world. In 2012, Tim Tebow was dropped by the
Jets and that was pretty much the end of his football career. For the next four years, Tebow would
go on to do missionary work to spread the word about his Lord and Savior. Along with this, he
would also make appearances on ESPN to do guest broadcasts and such.

Advantages Of Urbanization In China
The urbanization in China
As Joseph E Stiglitz who won the Nobel economic prize said, Two forces will shape the 21st
century: urbanisation in China and technological innovation in the US. Urbanization is such an
important issue for China and the world. Research figures indicate the urbanization rate has grown
to 45% from 13% since 1949 and the government estimates it will increase to 60% in 2030. Some
researchers have shown urbanization in China was very successful and got many great
accomplishments. On the other side, many other researchers also revealed critical opinions to what
it has done in the past. They also worried about the future of urbanization in China. Through this
report, This report will examine what benefits and disadvantages did urbanization process bring to
China and How is the future of it.
QпјљWhy did China keep focusing on urbanization as one of the top agenda items?
So far, twenty five of the world s largest 100 cities are in China. After Chinese economic reform,
those first 14 opening harbour cities and 4 special economic zones set great examples for other
cities. With developing and growing of those cities and a big influx of investments from overseas
investors, there were more and more occupation opportunities be required. Then people from
counties and the countryside began to move to cities for better lives so that the manpower engine
was formed which was based on the large population of China. Cheap and endless manpower
helped cities developed

The Hero s Journey In Literature
Throughout our lifetime, we are each tested and challenged in different ways, with an abundance
of these scenarios presenting a hero someone who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding
achievements; or noble qualities. This hero goes through the hero cycle; a series of events that
describes the heros journey and their experience. Some examples of the hero cycle include the call
to adventure, the approach of the challenge, and the reward. The hero cycle is important in
literature because it allows the story to flow cohesively and thus be able to be followed and
understood easily. It also tends to make the story more interesting for the reader leaving them
wondering what the hero is going to have to endure later on. In life, the existence... Show more

In this event there was no trophy given out or the arm of a demon to display in a mead hall. For the
paramedics, part of the reward was knowing they were able to help a family and do their job
successfully. But the greatest reward of all, was knowing my friend was alive and he was going
to be okay. Cliche, I know, but experiencing this first hand, I ve learned not to take any day or
anybody for granted. You never know what someone else is truly going through or what each
day has in store for you. This event has taught both my friend and I a lot of life lessons which I m
thankful we learned at an early age however, I desperately wish we would have learned it a very
different way. To be heroic, you do not need to have super powers or fight off bad guys. All you
need to do is be a role model and provide assistance or a sense of safety to others. Knowing the
hero cycle can also help us with our own challenges. It teaches us we are going to be tested and
go through our own trials and we will have to come up with our own approach for the
circumstance. However, there will often be a mentor or allies that will help us along the way to
reach our reward and soon enough the whole ordeal will be over and we will have learned the
lessons life intended us to and come out stronger than we

An Analysis Of Everyday Ambassador, By Kate Otto
First and foremost, the novel Everyday Ambassador, by Kate Otto, opens the eyes of many, and
makes people realise that there are four simple values they can add into their everyday lives to
make a difference. By adding these values into your life you could make a difference for not only
yourself but for your neighbors, community, and maybe even the world. An everyday ambassador
has to have focus, empathy, humility, and patience. By realizing you wantto make a change you are
already on the journey to becoming an everyday ambassador.
First, one value that you should take a look into adding into your life is focus. Focus is when you
have your interest and attention on one certain object or task. By allowing focus into your everyday
habits ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Third, another value needed to be on the path to be an everyday ambassador is humility.
Humility is knowing we are important and equal to everybody else around us no matter what
age, skin color, or religion they have. We should not have to wake up everyday and get likes on
social media to feel important. We shouldn t compare our lives to others and put people down
because they are different than us. Having humility allows you to realize that it is okay to not be
an expert at everything and know that sometimes you can t contribute as much as others. But
knowing that, allows you to find aspects of your life where you can help and make a difference.
You should be putting yourself into situations where you can help change the world even if it is
one small step at a time. By doing this you can become an everyday ambassador.
Lastly, the fourth and final value you need to have to become an everyday ambassador is patience.
Patience is the ability to overcome annoyance when confronted with some kind of delay of
results. This has become a very distinct problem with people as we have every answer we could
ever want at our fingertips. By having patience in your life and letting yourself know that results
could take a while puts you on the path to becoming an everyday ambassador. You need to know
,
especially if you want to help change people s lives or change the world, that seeing results could
take a very long time. However, if you do have the patience

1.Reviewing GM s financial information in GM Exhibit 1 and its stock price in GM Exhibit 2,
when do you first see signs of GM s impending financial distress?
The sign of GM s impending financial distress is first seen in 2005. GM reported a net loss of
more than $10 billion and has continued to post annual losses since that time with losses reaching
almost $31 billion in 2008. GM s cash flow from operations in 2005 was a negative $16.8 billion.
Reviewing GM s stock price, we can see that the stock price also decreased dramatically started in
2004 to 2008. In 2005, GM s stock traded around $19 per share and reached the lowest of $1.45 per

Cellular Boundaries Are Permeable
In biology, I learned that cellular boundaries can be permeable. Initially, this concept was
intriguing in and of itself, that cells can release and absorb information to perform necessary
functions. Three years later, that particular biology class and the principle it revealed has held a
place in my mind. The phrase boundaries are permeable returns to my thoughts at odd times, not
always bearing the original scientific connotation. Most often, the phrase returns when there is an
overlap in subject matter, an opportunity to bridge ideas that were previously considered distinct to
respective areas of study. The three words have remained with me, serving to analogize the ability
to effectively apply information across disciplines, something I wish to accomplish on my career
path. In my academic experience, there is a striking difference between the classroom... Show more

Women Of The American Civil War
In Mothers of Invention, Drew Gilpin Faust has written a wonderful history of the Women of the
Slaveholding South in the American Civil War . This informative study allows the reader to get a
look into the life of privileged white women of the south. Faust uses diaries, political documents,
newspapers and personal letters, to give the reader to experience things through the eyes and in the
words of the women themselves. Faust presents a number of southern women whose lives were
changed by the societal upheavals caused by the civil war. The book, proficiently explains how the
civil War influenced and changed the advantaged and cultured women of the slave holding south. It
is successful at examining how gender and race deteriorated and then altered from the beginning
through the end of the military operation. The introduction leading into chapter one depicts the
platform for which these women experienced before the war and leads the reader through the
unavoidable changes that occurred out of necessity. Foust frameworks their relationships in society
before the firing at Fort Sumter and rationalizes that from the very beginning, many women realize
that their lives would be forever transformed. A major theme initiated in chapter one and
successively intertwined throughout the book, is that of social differences between the women of
the north from that of the south and how it correlated to their responses to the war. Most Affluent
women of the south defined themselves in

What Kind Of Asian Are You Essay
Where are you from? Are you Chinese by chance? Are you really Vietnamese? In the poem What
Kind of Asian Are You? Alex Dang tells us why these questions could annoy someone. He also
addresses the stereotypes good or bad and prejudices Asians or any other race faces using allusions
and many other literary and sound devices like imagery in his poem. The many things he talks
about Asians could be applied to other races and that other races could connect with.
Alex uses allusion and rhyme to show that when someone asks people what is their race. People feel
that they are being marginalized and are only judged upon by their race s culture. For example
every time you confuse me with some other nationality that I might share similar feature to is
stripping away my individuality. (line66 68) Shows the readers that talking only about their
nationality will make the person feel that s the only thing they are. All that matters is the color of
their skin and where they re from while nothing that they ve done or achieved matters.

With this line Alex talks about the violent history of racismto Asians. Many other races have

Pathophysiology Of Sleep
Introduction In the past few years, cell phones and tablets have begun to take over people s

texting, tweeting, or even just playing games. Not only do these devices effect our social lives,
but they also affect how we sleep at night and how much sleep we get. Sleep is very important in

The blue light from electronics, pass through the retina into a part of the hypothalamus (the area
of the brain that controls several sleep activities) and delay the release of the sleep inducing
hormone, melatonin (WebMD). The light from the screens throws off the body s natural sleep
and wake system, also known as the circadian rhythm. The circadian rhythm tells the body when
to release melatonin; the chemical that tells the body when to sleep, as well as serotonin; the
chemical that tells the body when to wake up. The brain releases melatonin when the sun goes
down to begin to prepare the body to go to sleep, blue light reverses the effects of melatonin and
wakes the brain back up. Serotonin is released when the sun comes up to wake the brain up and
make the body alert and ready for the day, if the person does not get enough sleep then the
serotonin levels will be low and they will be less awake and alert. According to Harvard Health,
when blue light begins to throw off the circadian rhythm, the risk for cancer begins to increase
and the risk for obesity increases as well. However, blue light is beneficial during the day as it
boosts energy and mood as well as alertness, at night blue light has the same affect, which is why it
keeps the brain awake. Blue light is in many energy efficient lights, which stimulate the brain as

What Would a Massive Hurricane Mean To NYC
In my community of New York City it is unlikely for a major hurricane to hit. It s only happened

Studying the Energy Industry in University
I am interested in the scientific, economical and business aspects of the energy industry, as they
not only have a big impact on our daily lives, but our future. I know that I would like to be part of
this important and growing enterprise in a way that connects science and business. I would l be
happy to study either at University, while developing my skills of the other simultaneously.
Geology is a science that fascinates me as am hugely interested in how and why Earth was formed
the way it was, and the factors involved, from the beginning to the present day. As oil and gas
supplies run out, renewable energy that can provide large amounts of power is becoming sought
after, and geology is a field that contributes hugely to the energy sector and is certainly needed
for renewable energy as well as fossil fuels. Another reason I love geology is the fact that there
are so many different types: glaciology, hydrology, meteorology etc., all of which I am keen to
learn about, particularly geochemistry as it studies at a molecular level. Likewise, the biology
involved also fascinates me, as it includes learning about how geological change affects life on
earth.
However, without business management, the energy industry would not be able to operate and
make the money needed for funding valuable research that could help solve our future problems. I
feel that having good business skills gives you the ability to think strategically and make the best
decisions.

Paradise Lost Analysis
Paradise Lost is an epic poem written by John Milton other uses this epic poem to depict the
integral scenes, or rather, experiences that lead up to the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden. In
the Bible, as well as all prominent, and popular religious works; there is a clear distinction as to
who the reader should be cheering for throughout their readings. However, John Miltons Paradise
Losthas turned this concept on its head. Rather than placing the focus onto Adam, Eve, or even God
himself Milton instead chooses to place the main focus on to Satan. The Fallen Angels, and Satan
are meant to be are antagonists within this epic poem. But, do they start out this way?
Satan is usually conveyed as a villain, yet the Satan we see within Paradise Lost, and Paradise
Regained is flushed out in a similar fashion to protagonist s within other prevalent written works
in the last few centuries. As William Blake concluded in his critique of Paradise Lost: he
(Milton) was a true poet and of the devil s party without knowing it . However, John Milton does
not continue on this path in portraying the devil s so heroically in his second Epic poem
Paradise Regained (Nafi, 23). The Satan that we knew in Paradise Lost; who was known for his
wit, intelligence, and persuasive attitude appear to no longer exist. It s as if his character is
downplayed as we progress through the rest from the later books of Paradise Lost, and continue
on to Paradise Regained. Satan, who poetically danced within the dreams of Eve, and planted the

There are several major points in which we are able to see the progression of Satan as a fleshed

important for us to analyze major plot points throughout the twelve books of Paradise Lost. As
John Milton was a devout religious man throughout his life, and this concert is clear throughout his

Southwest Airlines and Its Business Strategy
Corporate Strategy
Southwest Airlines faced many barriers to entry from the fierce competition of other airlines in the
industry. Though competition was fierce, Southwest Airlines managed to succeed by doing things
differently. Their mission was to provide affordable air travel to those who would not normally fly.
Contradictory to the rest of the airline industry, Southwest maintained a profit while keeping its
fares low. Southwest was unique to the industry in two ways. They focused on the short haul
traveler and used a point to point method of flight connections.
The short haul traveler is the backbone in which Southwest was built upon. The market for short

attention to in developing strategies to measure the objectives of learning and growth perspective:
human factor, Information factors, and organizational factors.
Competitive corporate environment it is important that companies pay attention to their employees
abilities to perform their duties. What is actually important is for companies to continuously study
not only how they can perform well for the customers but they also have to address the issue on
how they can maintain a highly effective staff. To achieve this they should have strategies in place
to measure their employees skills, knowledge, and attitude. This will assist in better planning
strategies needed to have an effective retention program in place to measure the learning and

In this age where technology plays an important role in how corporations are run, it is important for

NCAA Football Playoff System
Thesis: The Bowl Championship Series (BCS) formula has been used to determine the top twenty
five teams in NCAA Division I college since 1998. Many think this system is inadequate and
should be changed. The alternative is a playoff system that would give more of the top teams a
chance to be named the NCAA football National Champion.

Bill Vilona, of the Pensacola News Journal wrote, All of us in the equity conferences believe the
BCS has worked; it has done what it s supposed to do. It s not perfect, but I don t think anything is
perfect. The Bowl Championship Series should be changed to a playoff system. The BCS does a
great job of utilizing all the statistics and polls to establish the top twenty five teams in the nation.
On the other hand the top two teams are the ones who attend the national championship and that
is where the BCS system is unfair. For Example, Alex Giles wrote in his Article The Proposed
Marriage of the BCS and a Playoff Format , In 2000, the BCS ranked Oklahoma Jerzy 6
#1 and Florida State #2 at seasons end, despite the fact that Miami was ranked #2 in the both the
AP and the coaches poll and had beaten the Seminoles (Florida State) during the regular season.
Ranking problems like that one that happened in 2000 are why the BCS system should modify to a
playoff system. The BCS is a somewhat confusing and often controversial system (Vilona). The top
twenty five teams in Division I football battle each and every week for a better spot in the
rankings. Most of the time it comes down to the last week of season play to determine which two
teams will progress into the national championship game. The top teams should be given an
opportunity to earn their way into the championship

Different Types Of Protocol Identifiers
A protocol identifier is nothing but the name of the protocol to be used to fetch the resource, e.g.
https://www.youtube.com/.The example uses the HyperText Transfer Protocol over SSL
(Secure Socket Layer) (HTTPs), which is TCP/IP protocol used by Web servers to transfer and
display Web content securely. The data transferred is encrypted so that it cannot be read by
anyone except the recipient. (HTTPs) is just one of many different protocols used to access
different types of resources on the net. Several other prefixes exist as listed below:
1.HTTP a webpage, website directory, or another file available over HTTP
2.FTP a file or directory of files available to download from an FTP server
3.NEWS a discussion located within a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The difference is that a URI can be used to describe a file s name or location, or both, while a URL
specifically defines a resource s location.
URL PARAMETERS
The first part of the URL is called a Protocol Identifier and it indicates what protocol to use, and the
second part is called a Resource Name and it specifies the IP Addressor the domain name where
the resource is located. The protocol identifier and the resource name are separated by a colon
and two forward slashes. Each time the client taps on the connection URL finds the archive to
be recovered. URL Parameters are parameters whose values are set dynamically in a page s
URL, and can be accessed by its template and its data sources. This makes pages incredibly
dynamic, enabling a single page to power an endless number of views. This very page, for
example, sets a parameter in the last bit of its URL (url parameters), which is then used to filter
a data source that fetches the appropriate entry from the Concepts section. Every individual
Concept view on this site is thus powered by a single page. You can insert URL parameters into
your URLs so that your URLs track information about a click. URL parameters are made of a key
and a value separated by an equals sign (=) and joined by an ampersand ( ). The first parameter
always comes after a question mark in a URL. For example, http://example.com?product=1234

All About My Brother Essay
If there is something that cannot be disputed by any single individual is the prevalence of
disabilities in the world. What people may not be so informed upon is the types of handicaps that
exist and how those who either have them or know people that do, deal with them. Having
disabilities in the past used to come with much negativity and discrimination for people generally
weren t accepting and cognizant of all the possible elements of life. However, with the increased
availability of literature on the matter, more people have started to become aware and realize that
handicaps shouldn t be viewed in this demeaning manner, in turn, they are becoming more
understanding and compassionate. Impressions start young, so it is extremely beneficial for the

the Major Leagues six decades before Robinson. Although faced with similar trials in each of their

The Evolution of Graphic Design
When graphic design began, it was much simpler than it is today. Most people consider graphic
design to be done only on computers and fancy operating systems, when in fact graphic design in
much more complex than that. Graphic design has its roots in early caveman drawings using stone,
organic paints and charcoal. Since these early humans had no to little verbal communication, logic
dictates that they would have to communicate instead with a plethora of symbols and graphic
representations of ideas. As time progressed, the methods of visual communication, as well as
verbal communication, evolved. Materials in graphic designbecame more refined such as digital or
traditional printing. Some of the milestones in graphic design were the invention of printing
presses, text based design such as Typography, molds, and computers. As new technology made
the expression and sharing of art possible, those who chose to create art formed new styles and
ideas that also evolved.
Artistic molds were one of the first revolutionary things to come about in graphic design. The
molds allowed for the mass production of certain objects, letters, or shapes that would otherwise
take several hours to even days to be created. Once the molds were created, they could then be
used to replicate their shape by filing them with clay, stone, cement, ink and other artistic materials.
The molds can be made in varying shapes and sizes, allowing for artists to create precise works
from different templates. Molds

Advantages Of Outsourcing And Outsourcing
Introduction
In 1876 Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone which enabled people to communicate with
one another in an efficient manner. Since then technology has advanced at a rapid pace allowing
people to be more connected than ever before. For example, a person working for Pepsi Co in
Houston can easily connect with their counterpart in London or Mumbai. The invention of the
internet has allowed business to communicate across the world within seconds thus creating a
global economy that depends on one another.
Globalization is defined as the process of international integration arising from the interchange of
world views, products, ideas and other aspects of culture. A global economy allows companies to
source their product or service from around the world. This enables business by giving them more
options and resources to grow their business. However, globalization comes with its own set of
questions and problems. Companies that do business worldwide have to constantly deal with
shipping, customs, politics, and cultural barriers. This paper will be centered on the advantages and
disadvantages of offshoring and outsourcing. Furthermore, we will discuss some of the factors and
trends that are affecting offshoring and outsourcing.
Outsourcing vs. Offshoring

misconceptions. The terms outsourcing and offshoring are used almost synonymously in today s

13th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment
The 13th Pennsylvania Reserves Regiment (42nd Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment) were said to be
superior marksmen, and during the first year of the Civil War, they distinguished themselves as
fighters and sharpshooters. They were organized into the 149th and 150th Regiments of the
Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. Their most important contribution to the Battle of Gettysburg
occurred on McPherson s Ridge on July 1, 1863, where they fought one of the most desperate
actions of the battle. During the battle, the regimentdrew heavy artillery fire from Confederate
guns. The shellfire was unremitting. The regiment held their ground and put up the fight of their
life until the Union line collapsed and the Confederates forced them to fall back. The Bucktails
defense at McPherson s Ridge bought valuable time for more Union units to arrive in the area and
deploy for the ultimate Union victory at Gettysburg. The 143rd PA Volunteer regiment known as
the Bucktail Regiment is one of Pennsylvania s most well known Civil War units. The regiment

Teenagers from non intact families were more likely to be sexually active and had higher rates

also found that children who were in a single parent or step parent home by the time they were

Importance Of Volunteering In Healthcare
Internships, Volunteering, and Certifications
I have conducted some research that pertains to facilities management in healthcare. The majority

certifications.
Internships and Volunteering

however able to find a few programs from local hospitals that offer internships in facility

The Eugenics Of The Word Eugenics
The word eugenics was first derived from the Greek word eugenes which means well born. The
goal of eugenics is to create and breed the utmost superior person through selection while picking
out the good traits and eliminating the bad ones. Eugenics is the study of using methods to improve
genetics by selective breeding (Eugenics, 2009). This came about because of the thought of being
able to tell the difference between inferior and superior human beings. In 1883 the word eugenics
was first used to talk about the science of heredity and good breeding. The scientist Gregor Mendel
had cross breeded pea plants and found patterns that were relative to humans such as color and
height. After the knowledge of this study came to be, other scientists began to use the word
eugenics. Because of Mendel s study the concept of genes became introduced. Charles Davenport, a
widely respected scientist, was first to say that certain characteristics were superior to others such as
intelligence, cleanliness, hard work and many more. Davenport founded the Eugenics Record
Office in 1910 (Eugenics, 2009). According to a publication, the goal of eugenics was to improve
the natural, physical, mental and temperamental qualities of the human family (Eugenics, 2009).
After these studies, eugenics researchers believed that if mating was controlled, conditions such as
psychiatric illness, physical disabilities and mental retardation could be eliminated.

The Structure and Function Of Arteries, Veins and Capillaries
The Structure and Function Of Arteries, Veins and Capillaries
In its route from the heart to the tissues, the blood passes through channels of six foremost types:
elastic arteries, muscular arteries, arterioles, capillaries, venules and veins. I intend to explore the
structure and function of arteries, veins and capillaries. When an artery branches into smaller and
smaller vessels, eventually the blood vessel is too small to see with the naked eye. At that point, it
is called an arteriole. Likewise, a venule is a microscopic vein.
Arteries
All arteries are comprised of three different layers but the proportion and structure of each varies
with the size and function of the particular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Arteries, because of their elastic nature can stretch with systole or relax with diastole. Their
elastic property allows the arteries to oppose the force of the flow. The arteries can control (help
form a pulsatile) the flow so that when blood reaches the arterioles and eventually the capillaries
the stream of blood is milder. The wall of the arterioles contains less elastic fibres because the
blood pressure within the arterioles is lower. Arterioles have more smooth muscle cells than large
arteries, which allow blood to pass through them and on to the capillaries efficiently because
friction is reduced.
Veins =====
Veins and venules are similar in structure to arteries and arterioles, however veins have a wider
inner diameter, which means that they can hold a larger volume of blood. Since it would be
unworkable to get all the blood back to the heart as quickly as it left the heart (because there is no
pumping mechanism to do so); veins have to be able to hold more blood than arteries. The veins
provide a storage area for our blood, which is why the diameter of the veins is larger than the
artery diameter. At any given time, the majority of our blood is within our veins.
Veins have a thinner smooth muscle layer that allows for the expansion of the vessels and minimize
resistance by reducing

Love s Negative Influence in Life
Love, a beautiful feeling one can experience in life. It brings happiness in one s life. When
someone is in love, we think it will have positive effect and bring happiness in individual s life.
However, this is not the case for main characters of Faulkner s A Rose for Emily , and Zora Neale
Hurston s Sweat . Both short stories reveal that the effect of love can be negative, even deadly.
Delia Jones of Sweat by Zora Neale Hurston, and Emily Grierson of A Rose for Emily by
William Faulkner, are unclear between love and hatred with no clear answer, towards the direct
male influence and control in their lives. The male dominance in their lives has created lots of
problems in their lives; however, they display ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The relationship of Delia Jones makes sense to reader as it is an image of some of marriages in
today s world. In the short story, Delia Jones has faced various hardships with her terrible
husband. Sykes is mean, unfaithful, and cruel man. He always beats Delia just for no reason.
Two months after the wedding, he had given her the first brutal beating (Hurston 733). He
always thinks of his wife as an ugly and skinny. Therefore, He has a love affair with another
woman named Bertha. This upsets Delia because Sykes only lovea Bertha because she is fat,
and hate her, because she is skinny. As she carries on her laundry business and church activities,
he returns to the arms of the mistress whose curves excite him more than his wife s spare
strength (Ryan 72). The actions of Sykes Jones destroy the motivation and desire of her way of
living. She later starts defending herself by beginning to voice against her husband. Delia starts
defending herself and home when she yelled, that ole snaggle toothed black woman you runnin
with ain t comin heah to pile up on mah sweat and blood. You ain t paid for nothin on this place,
and Ah m gointer stay right heah till Ah m toted out foot foremost (Hurston 733). However, Emily
Grierson relationship with Homer Barron is very confusing. Although, it is not clearly states in the
short story, but Miss Emily loves for Homer

to help him commit murder. Phillip thinks it is a good idea, but then when the boys are under
question, Phillip breaks down and starts regretting his actions and even confesses to the murder
because he feels so bad. In Ropetwo Friends Phillip and Brandon commit the act of murder to an

Rupert then says that he does not know what society is going to do to the boys when they find out
about the murder, and that they will probably die. In the Short Film Rope by Alfred Hitchcock,
Phillip is the character that goes through the most change, first because Brandon starts to make
bizarre comments that make him sound like he is bragging about the murder .Second because he
realizes they will get caught because Rupert knows about the murder, both of these things make
him change and regret the murder.Phillip first changes and starts to regret the murder, when
Brandon starts making odd comments about their murder of David, which leads Phillip to wonder
why they murdered him in the first place. When the murder is committed Brandon starts making
comments that make it seem almost as if he is bragging about it. One thing Brandon says is,
Nobody commits a murder just for the experiment of committing it, nobody except us. This really
leaves Phillip to realize why did they really kill David, did they really have a justifiable reason to

Social Effects Of Shintoism
Shintoism evolved out of folk religions, or cults which were developed from tradition and culture of
a community. For example, one of the religion that contributed to Shinto was Shugendo, where they
focused their teachings on pregnancy, childbirth, the location of lost articles, healing, the exorcism
of malevolent spirits, ancestral rites, and pilgrimages. (Jansen), emphasizing on external powers,
especially spirits of a deceased person. Another religion that was founded was Shingaku, the heart
learning religion. Shingaku was founded by Ishida Baigan, whom studied Buddhism, Taoism,
Confucianism, and incorporated those ideas from each religion to form an ultimate school. Due to
the fact that Shintowas based off of other folk religions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the eighteenth century, Buddhist temples had significant political power. The political and
social classes are closely correlated with those of religious ranks. The higher up one may be up in
the hierarchy of social classes, it is more likely that that person is an important figure religiously,
such as a monk or monasteries. Likewise, the temple s attestation was required for marriage,
employment, change of residence, and travel permits (Jansen), therefore the Buddhist temple acted
as a sort of government administration, according to emeritus professor of Japanese history at
Princeton University, Marius B. Jansen. Unlike the Yamatai Koku, men became rulers in each
kingdom that existed within Japan. The gender equality that was present in ancient Japan had
changed and had evolved into a male dominant society. Although Buddhism had a great amount of
political and social power in Japan, it lost its religious followers due to the amount of political
powers it attained after the Meiji Restoration in 1868, as religious ideas were less significant in the
socio political system. Buddhism was veering off into more of a government than it was a religion
to guide people away from suffering. Due to these reasons, many began following a folk religion,
Shintoism, that pierced together ancestor worship, portents, directions, and concern with a
beneficent through capricious nature. (Jensen), unlike what Buddhism had become by the eighteenth

Reflection Paper On Going To A Camp
Going somewhere new without knowing anybody can be very terrifying. I never thought of
going to a place like this. My family heard of this camp from a few of our relatives. I have some
misgivings about this camp, but I am willing to give it a try. I am not involved in my church that
often and this camp is a christian camp so I feel like it is going to be awkward, or maybe I d be
excluded. Camp Shamineau taught me to accept myself for who I am and that everyone else
will too, including God. It is now the day that I am supposed to leave for camp and I notice that I
am extremely nervous. It is in Staples Motley so it took us about an hour to get there. When we
pulled up I observe that there is a great welcoming crew; some on horses, some just jumping and
directing us where to go. We parked the car and when I got out the air smelt like fresh cut grass
and excitement! I started to get scared and nervous of what s to come. I am now at a place that i
d never been in before with people I d never met. I know that everyone that is here most likely
feels the same way. I am feeling alone, and now I definitely didn t want my mom to leave, but
she had to. I gave her a big hug and kiss. I had trust in her when she started to tell me not to worry
and that it was going to be a fun experience. I sat on my bed and watched as more girls walked in.
Some of them were extremely shy, a few excited, a couple nervous, and some scared just like me.
When everyone in my cabin finally

famous songs composed by Beethoven. The opening song included Beethoven s Fifth with a
revised version that lifted the beat and brought more attention to the group. The second song that
was performed was Ode to Joy. This song had Justin Noack on trumpet as a featured soloist. From
there, the band played a shortened version of Scherzo. During this song, soloist Brendan Yuan was

Differences and Similarities Between Malcolm X and Martin...
In history, everyone knows that no two great men are alike. And when you compare Martin
Luther King and Malcolm X, you will know instantly that this is true. There are many differences
between the two, apart from the striking one: that Martin Luther King was a very good statesmen
who delivered moving speeches about peace, freedom and democracy while Malcolm X was a
known eradicator of those who were not of the superior white race. The beliefs of Martin Luther
King and Malcolm X may stem from the fact that their childhoods were vastly different, given that

Cooper vs. Powell I will be exploring the character of Rachel Cooper in comparison to John s
mother, and Icey Spoon. To begin it is clearly Miss Cooper that is much more intelligent and more
of a mother then John s mom can ever be. Miss Cooper has this unique distinction about her
dominant female presence. She is a very strong and smart woman not only the way she handles and
raises the adopted children but because she runs a farm and maintains all the housework that
comes with that. On top of that she has some one on one time with each kid. If you have one
child, making sure you have solo time with that child, too. When the oldest child went off to out

type of man she needed. And when she ran into Harry she had ice cream and it seemed like a

driving force for thought and activity. If conflicts from these stages are not resolved fixations may
occur. If overindulgence at a stage may result in a person remaining at that stage. Certain
personality traits develop from difficulty in one stage or another, for instance the anal stage can give

How Workplace Is An Essential Part Of Professional Life
Modern workplace is a specific and highly changeable sphere where the interests of employees and
employers are highly interconnected and opposed at the same time. Workplace management has
become an important part of any organizations life, especially during the last decades, when people

Dealing with people, making them develop and learn, making them follow the planned agenda and

were rarely investigated and conceptualized. However, it is clear that such important organizations
as the Church or the ancient armies were based on particular practices and concepts. The history of
management normally starts with the Industrial Revolution and the following mass production that
changed the face of the businesses and the world in general.
Each stage of the management theories development brought new ideas about the nature of an
organization, the place and importance of the workplace learning. One of the oldest theories of
management is the Scientific Management theory developed by Frederick Taylor, who tried to
develop the standards of organizations and their tasks. It is followed by the Bureaucratic
Management Theory suggested by Max Weber. This theory mostly concentrated on the types of

Harriet Tubman s Role In The Underground Railroad
The Underground Railroad was a system of individuals who helped escaped slaves to obtain their
freedom in the northern part of the states, even as far as Canada. The Underground Railroad was
the first American civil rights movement (Snodgrass) which managed to operate secretly for more
than fifty years. While there was no actual railroad underground, there was an organized network of
secret routes and houses to help refugee slaves to their freedom.
The Underground Railroad coined this term from similarities as to those of an actual railroad
system. Just as a train has a conductor, the same goes for the Underground Railroad. These
conductors were individuals who helped the runaway slaves obtain their freedom by different
routes of escape. In addition to conductors, there were safe houses ... Show more content on

Harriet Tubman, an escaped slave herself, was known for her role in the rescuing of hundreds of
slaves who were on the run. In the decade before the American Civil War, Tubman guided to
freedom about 300 slaves without ever losing a slave through capture. (Thackeray 82) Harriet
Tubman was so devoted to destroying the slave system which encompassed her family and friends
lives, she eventually ended up helping in the Civil War. In order to help in the Union army, Harriet
Tubman alternated roles as nurse and scout, cook and spy (Larson 18).
The enactment of the Fugitive Slave Law, which was part of the Compromise of 1850, was due
to the success of the Underground Railroad. Hundreds of slaves were escaping each year
towards the North, which in turn was making slavery an unreliable business along the northern
states. The main goal of the Fugitive Slave Law was that it required all of the slaves who had
escaped and were recaptured, are to be returned to their owners. Not only were the escapees being

  • 2. Analysis Of Rolf Strootman, Courts And Elites In The... In Rolf Strootman s, Courts and Elites in the Hellenistic Empires, he discusses the Kingdoms of the Hellenistic era, there courts, how kingdoms were developed, the importance of military might, emphasis of the king as a war hero, king viewed as a liberator of cities and the development of diplomatic relations with the cities that are being governed by the kings.1 Strootman looks at three kingdoms to explain how the kingdoms in this empire function, they are the Ptolemies, Antigonids, and the Seleukids. In these empires, Strootman explains how the kingdoms were mostly nomadic, in the way that the court would constantly move around and follow the king where ever he went.2 So Strootman makes the case that the courts were not defined by a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kingdoms in this era were subject to imperial claims (other than by the emperor), making the role of emperor not absolute and in constant struggle to maintain control over, through negotiations or confrontations.5 In this book, Strootman elaborates on how there are two essential diagrams for exposing political assertiveness during the Hellenistic period shedding light on the function of imperialism, the first describes the court as a political structure used to assert power but this idea is rivaled with the importance of the theater and the important role it played in to support the role of the king and his court against the courts of others. The other is describing capital and cities as tools of a power play made by those of power (the king and his courtiers).6 These arguments as Strootman exposes to the reader that based off of the ideas of Norbert Elias, Jurgen von Kruedener and Charles Tilly, we are able to better understand the function of court during this era.7 Kruedener as mentioned by Strootman explains how the role of favor with the king was vital to the attainment of power within the kingdom, disbursement of land holdings, duties of offices and this was all done through exposure before the king through the instrument of court. Signs Miracles Paper SIGNS AND MIRACLES PAPER Liberty University, November 27th , 2011 Introduction Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of His disciples that are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing you may have life in His name. John 20:30 31 (HCSB) In the Gospel of John there are eight recorded sign miracles that Jesus Christ performed. This paper will briefly describe each miracle and how it reveals the deity of Jesus Christ. Turning of Water into Wine The first miracle Jesus performed was changing water into wine. He and His disciples arrived at a wedding celebration that was already in progress. Mary, the mother of Jesus, came to Him and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He knew these people were not following Him because of who He was, but because of the miracles they had seen or heard He had performed. Nevertheless, Jesus saw their need for food. Jesus knew how He would handle the situation, but before He told His disciples, Andrew brought a small boy and his lunch to Jesus. Although Andrew s had little faith concerning what could be done with it, Jesus used his small faith and turned that tiny lunch into a feast for all the people. He first prayed over the meal, which showed His dependence upon the Father.[7] This miracle displayed Jesus power over food and His willingness to use whatever we willingly offer.[8] Jesus tells the people I am the bread of life; he who comes to me will certainly not hunger, and he who believes in me will certainly not thirst, ever. (John 6:35) Jesus claim to be the bread of life further reveals His deity. As Morris says, The bread symbolism is complex, but clearly Jesus is the supplier of our deepest needs. [9] Jesus Walking on the Water The next miracle recorded occurred later that same day. The disciples were waiting for Jesus, who had withdrawn for prayer, before they set sail across the Sea of Galilee. He had not arrived by dark, so they left without Him and set sail into a storm. Halfway through the journey, the sea was raging and the disciples were afraid. Then Jesus came toward them, walking on the water, and calmed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Timothy Tebow Reflection Now, Timothy Tebow isn t a regular author, instead of telling non fiction stories, he worked to write inspiring messages that uplifted the people around him ( Through). After he found direction in his life again, he became so excited that he couldn t keep this wisdom to himself. So how did he let the world know to never give up? In 2011 he released his first book titled Through My Eyes ( Through). It would be in this book where Tebow would discuss everything about his life in a very unique way. In Through My Eyes, Tebow would discuss everything about his life up to that point, but that is not the main purpose of this story ( Through). It s within this autobiography that he would discuss: religion, not giving up on life, how everyone is worth more than they think, and to not give up on oneself when everyone else has ( Through). Tebow would use his awesome literary skills to uplift and inspire everyone around him, rather than just telling a simple story that not everyone may care about ( Through). It is in this manner that Tim Tebow can gain a following where he can spread the good word of Jesus Christ and to let everyone know that they are not alone in this world. In 2012, Tim Tebow was dropped by the Jets and that was pretty much the end of his football career. For the next four years, Tebow would go on to do missionary work to spread the word about his Lord and Savior. Along with this, he would also make appearances on ESPN to do guest broadcasts and such. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Hero s Journey In Literature Throughout our lifetime, we are each tested and challenged in different ways, with an abundance of these scenarios presenting a hero someone who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements; or noble qualities. This hero goes through the hero cycle; a series of events that describes the heros journey and their experience. Some examples of the hero cycle include the call to adventure, the approach of the challenge, and the reward. For the paramedics, part of the reward was knowing they were able to help a family and do their job successfully. But the greatest reward of all, was knowing my friend was alive and he was going to be okay. Cliche, I know, but experiencing this first hand, I ve learned not to take any day or anybody for granted. You never know what someone else is truly going through or what each day has in store for you. This event has taught both my friend and I a lot of life lessons which I m thankful we learned at an early age however, I desperately wish we would have learned it a very different way. To be heroic, you do not need to have super powers or fight off bad guys. All you need to do is be a role model and provide assistance or a sense of safety to others. Knowing the hero cycle can also help us with our own challenges. It teaches us we are going to be tested and go through our own trials and we will have to come up with our own approach for the circumstance. However, there will often be a mentor or allies that will help us along the way to reach our reward and soon enough the whole ordeal will be over and we will have learned the lessons life intended us to and come out stronger than we ... We should not have to wake up everyday and get likes on social media to feel important. We shouldn t compare our lives to others and put people down because they are different than us. Having humility allows you to realize that it is okay to not be an expert at everything and know that sometimes you can t contribute as much as others. But knowing that, allows you to find aspects of your life where you can help and make a difference. You should be putting yourself into situations where you can help change the world even if it is one small step at a time. By doing this you can become an everyday ambassador. Lastly, the fourth and final value you need to have to become an everyday ambassador is patience. Patience is the ability to overcome annoyance when confronted with some kind of delay of results. This has become a very distinct problem with people as we have every answer we could ever want at our fingertips. By having patience in your life and letting yourself know that results could take a while puts you on the path to becoming an everyday ambassador. You need to know , especially if you want to help change people s lives or change the world, that seeing results could take a very long time. However, if you do have the patience ... The book, proficiently explains how the civil War influenced and changed the advantaged and cultured women of the slave holding south. The circadian rhythm tells the body when to release melatonin; the chemical that tells the body when to sleep, as well as serotonin; the chemical that tells the body when to wake up. The brain releases melatonin when the sun goes down to begin to prepare the body to go to sleep, blue light reverses the effects of melatonin and wakes the brain back up. Serotonin is released when the sun comes up to wake the brain up and make the body alert and ready for the day, if the person does not get enough sleep then the serotonin levels will be low and they will be less awake and alert. According to Harvard Health, when blue light begins to throw off the circadian rhythm, the risk for cancer begins to increase and the risk for obesity increases as well. • 19. Paradise Lost Analysis Paradise Lost is an epic poem written by John Milton other uses this epic poem to depict the integral scenes, or rather, experiences that lead up to the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden. In the Bible, as well as all prominent, and popular religious works; there is a clear distinction as to who the reader should be cheering for throughout their readings. However, John Miltons Paradise Losthas turned this concept on its head. Rather than placing the focus onto Adam, Eve, or even God himself Milton instead chooses to place the main focus on to Satan. The Fallen Angels, and Satan are meant to be are antagonists within this epic poem. But, do they start out this way? Satan is usually conveyed as a villain, yet the Satan we see within Paradise Lost, and Paradise Regained is flushed out in a similar fashion to protagonist s within other prevalent written works in the last few centuries. As William Blake concluded in his critique of Paradise Lost: he (Milton) was a true poet and of the devil s party without knowing it . However, John Milton does not continue on this path in portraying the devil s so heroically in his second Epic poem Paradise Regained (Nafi, 23). The Satan that we knew in Paradise Lost; who was known for his wit, intelligence, and persuasive attitude appear to no longer exist. It s as if his character is downplayed as we progress through the rest from the later books of Paradise Lost, and continue on to Paradise Regained. Satan, who poetically danced within the dreams of Eve, and planted the seed of curiosity within her head was reduced to an antagonist with a lackluster performance. There are several major points in which we are able to see the progression of Satan as a fleshed out character. However, to understand the progression of Satan s development as a character; it is important for us to analyze major plot points throughout the twelve books of Paradise Lost. As John Milton was a devout religious man throughout his life, and this concert is clear throughout his writings within his various works. Yet, in a peculiar fashion, Paradise Lost introduces the devil, and Satan first. In an ironic twist Satan addressed before Adam, Eve, Jesus, or even God. Once the poem starts we are ... Most people consider graphic design to be done only on computers and fancy operating systems, when in fact graphic design in much more complex than that. Graphic design has its roots in early caveman drawings using stone, organic paints and charcoal. Since these early humans had no to little verbal communication, logic dictates that they would have to communicate instead with a plethora of symbols and graphic representations of ideas. As time progressed, the methods of visual communication, as well as verbal communication, evolved. Materials in graphic designbecame more refined such as digital or traditional printing. Some of the milestones in graphic design were the invention of printing presses, text based design such as Typography, molds, and computers. As new technology made the expression and sharing of art possible, those who chose to create art formed new styles and ideas that also evolved. Artistic molds were one of the first revolutionary things to come about in graphic design. The molds allowed for the mass production of certain objects, letters, or shapes that would otherwise take several hours to even days to be created. Once the molds were created, they could then be used to replicate their shape by filing them with clay, stone, cement, ink and other artistic materials. • 37. The Eugenics Of The Word Eugenics The word eugenics was first derived from the Greek word eugenes which means well born. The goal of eugenics is to create and breed the utmost superior person through selection while picking out the good traits and eliminating the bad ones. Eugenics is the study of using methods to improve genetics by selective breeding (Eugenics, 2009). This came about because of the thought of being able to tell the difference between inferior and superior human beings. In 1883 the word eugenics was first used to talk about the science of heredity and good breeding. The scientist Gregor Mendel had cross breeded pea plants and found patterns that were relative to humans such as color and height. After the knowledge of this study came to be, other scientists began to use the word eugenics. Because of Mendel s study the concept of genes became introduced. Charles Davenport, a widely respected scientist, was first to say that certain characteristics were superior to others such as intelligence, cleanliness, hard work and many more. Davenport founded the Eugenics Record Office in 1910 (Eugenics, 2009). According to a publication, the goal of eugenics was to improve the natural, physical, mental and temperamental qualities of the human family (Eugenics, 2009). The Structure and Function Of Arteries, Veins and Capillaries The Structure and Function Of Arteries, Veins and Capillaries In its route from the heart to the tissues, the blood passes through channels of six foremost types: elastic arteries, muscular arteries, arterioles, capillaries, venules and veins. I intend to explore the structure and function of arteries, veins and capillaries. When an artery branches into smaller and smaller vessels, eventually the blood vessel is too small to see with the naked eye. At that point, it is called an arteriole. Likewise, a venule is a microscopic vein. Arteries All arteries are comprised of three different layers but the proportion and structure of each varies with the size and function of the particular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Arteries, because of their elastic nature can stretch with systole or relax with diastole. Their elastic property allows the arteries to oppose the force of the flow. The arteries can control (help form a pulsatile) the flow so that when blood reaches the arterioles and eventually the capillaries the stream of blood is milder. The wall of the arterioles contains less elastic fibres because the blood pressure within the arterioles is lower. Arterioles have more smooth muscle cells than large arteries, which allow blood to pass through them and on to the capillaries efficiently because friction is reduced. Veins ===== Veins and venules are similar in structure to arteries and arterioles, however veins have a wider inner diameter, which means that they can hold a larger volume of blood. Since it would be unworkable to get all the blood back to the heart as quickly as it left the heart (because there is no pumping mechanism to do so); veins have to be able to hold more blood than arteries. The veins provide a storage area for our blood, which is why the diameter of the veins is larger than the artery diameter. At any given time, the majority of our blood is within our veins. Veins have a thinner smooth muscle layer that allows for the expansion of the vessels and minimize resistance by reducing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Likewise, the temple s attestation was required for marriage, employment, change of residence, and travel permits (Jansen), therefore the Buddhist temple acted as a sort of government administration, according to emeritus professor of Japanese history at Princeton University, Marius B. The gender equality that was present in ancient Japan had changed and had evolved into a male dominant society. Although Buddhism had a great amount of political and social power in Japan, it lost its religious followers due to the amount of political powers it attained after the Meiji Restoration in 1868, as religious ideas were less significant in the socio political system.
