These two positions are the Baker and the Assistant Store Manager position. The managers are trying
to determine the best method for evaluating the positions within the organization.
Baker s Position There are two methods that are being tested for this position to evaluate this
employee s job performance. These methods are the factor comparison and the point method. Both of
these methods could be effective for evaluating this position. Both of these methods are based on the
employee s skills. They are based on the skills of the individual only, not compared to other s skills
within the organization. However, using these methods could also be difficult to assess the baker s
skill level. Research would have to be done using other stores comparable to Kudler Fine Foods and
their skilled baker s. This research would have to collect data that would give the manager s at Kudler
an idea of what the job performance level should be as a baker.
Assistant Store Manager There are two methods that are being considered to evaluate this position.
They are the ranking and factor comparison method. The ranking method could be effective because
the ranking could be completed by other Kudler employees. Determining the ranking system, could be
based on previous assistant store manager employees at Kudler s. Their job performance level is based
on what impact they have on the organization as a whole and what they can do to improve the
organization. The disadvantage

How Did The Economic Changes During The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes between the period from
1760 to 1820 and 1840. The Industrial Revolution marked a major turning point in history, it involved
going from hand production methods to machines. Textiles were the dominant industry in this time in
terms of employment and value of output, they were also the first to use the modern production
methods. Although life was much easier, building production, population and wealth remarkably
increased for the nation, the industrial revolution also proved harmful. Pollution increased, and the
biggest problem was the conditions for the workers. Although, the working conditions improved over
time due to reformers taking action.

Upper Extremity Robotic Analysis
As of 2016, approximately 795,000 people have experienced a stroke, with an individual experiencing
a stroke nearly every 40 seconds (Mozaffarian et al., 2016). The American Heart Association (2013)
predicts that the number of individuals who will have a stroke will increase 20% by 2030. The
increased prevalence of stroke may lead to serious issues in daily functioning for individuals;
therefore, stroke interventions that address functional impairments are crucial. Upper extremity
robotics is a relatively novel occupational therapy (OT) intervention for stroke rehabilitation, so
critical examination of the effect of robotics to address body structure/function impairments, activity
limitations, and participation restrictions is required (World ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Occupational therapists working with the stroke population use activity analysis and observation skills
to identify and analyze the functional impairments that result in activity limitations (McHugh
Pendleton Schultz Krohn, 2011). Established and effective OT interventions, such as repetitive task
training (RTP) and constraint induced movement therapy (CIMT), are used to address functional
impairments in the stroke population (Nilsen, Gillen, Arbesman, Lieberman, 2015; Wolf et al., 2006).
According to the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (2012), 60.7% of
registered OTs provide rehabilitation services to individuals who had been diagnosed with a Cerebral
Vascular Accident (CVA). A systematic review (Nilsen et al., 2015) found that the responsibilities of
an occupational therapist include administering a variety of assessments to create an occupational
profile when treating an individual following a stroke. One example of an OT assessment that
measures participation, one s involvement in a life situation (WHO, 2001), is the Canadian
Occupational Performance Measure (COPM), which asks the client to identify up to five occupations
he or she would like improve performance for, and rate his or her perceived performance and
satisfaction of these occupations (Law et al., 2014). Performance skills and client factors are often
evaluated with Fugl Meyer Assessment and the Action Research Arm Test to further assess
functionality of the upper extremity with respect to neuromusculoskeletal functions, sensory functions,
and motor skills (Fugl Meyer, Jaasko, Leyman, Olsson, Steglind, 1975; Lyle, 1981; Nilsen et al.,

A New Progressive Movement And Naji Essay
The lives of Abu Ali al Kilawi and Naji were drastically changed by the rapid modernization of Syria
for Ali and Iraq for Naji. Abu and Naji s lives changed in unique ways of one another, considering the
different ways the two states modernized, the influences of the country occupying them and the social
and economic statuses of the men within those states. In order to understand the ways in which Abu
and Naji s lives changed it is necessary to analyze the way in which the community evolved during the
time of modernization, the specific role the two individuals held within the community before the
development, and finally connect these two ideas and interpret how the individuals lives were
subsequently affected by modernization. Abu loses his status and role to play in society to a new
progressive movement and Naji faces discrimination based on his Jewish faith because of the
spreading anti semitic ideology. First, understanding the way in which the community in Syria was set
up and how it worked during the time of modernization is essential. At the beginning of modernizing
Syria, was a failed revolution against the French military. This failure morphed popular opinion on
how to progress forward as a nation. Rather than attempting to dispel the French from Syria, Syrians
decided it was their only option to work side by side with the French through diplomacy. This new
found group built strictly on forming diplomatic relationships with the French government became

A Crumby Story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears
Oh boy, you ll never guess what kind of story that goddam sonuvabitch Stradlater told me. It has to be
the phoniest story I ve ever heard, and I m actually not lying this time. Anyways, you re not going to
believe me so I don t even know why I m telling ya, but here it is, the same goddam thing that
Stradlater told me. I suppose I should start at the beginning of the story, it only makes sense.
Anyways, he started the story by telling me about some phony girl named Goldilocks or something
and these three very sore bears who lived in a small house in the middle of the forest. I hate when I
hear about others who are poorer than me. It bothers me when others don t have the same advantages
as me. It depresses the hell out of me, it really does. Anyways, you wouldn t think anybody would be
living way the hell out in the goddam forest, but here they were. Honestly who still believes in this
fairy tale crap anymore. Allie, my younger brother you know the one I told you about. He used to love
hearing fairy tales and stories, he really did. Me, not so much especially the crumby ones. It bothers
me when parents tell their kids these stories with phony characters and phony plots, if you want to
know the truth. The characters are always so goddam crumby, they re worst than the actors in movies.
They never act like real people, but I guess that s why they re called fairy tales.

This American (Working) Life
What is your average workweek? According to the Organisation for Economic Co operation and
Development over sixty six percent of women and eighty eight percent of men in America work over
40 hours each week (4). Yet not everyone receives overtime pay. Executives, teachers, managers and
others are not required by law to receive overtime pay (U.S. Cong. Federal Labor). These and other
professions are labeled exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. An exempt profession, when put on
a salary, is not protected by the FLSA and can work as many hours as required with no extra
compensation. According to a new bill, S. 1747 The Computer Professionals Update Act , legislators
would extend these exemptions to other IT professions (27 31). In a ... Show more content on

There really is no reason that any law should not be clear. And it should help the poor. However, one
of the main problems with increasing exceptions to the FLSA is that if an employee is being paid the
minimum salary for an exempted worker, they are within a whisper of the poverty line.
The original language pertaining to anyone working with computers was first introduced in 1990. An
be labeled exempt one would have to be paid an hourly rate and paid no less than six and a half times
the minimum wage. In 1996 the rate was adjusted to a fixed rate of $27.63 an hour(U.S. Cong. Small
Business). It was only small decrease from the previous rate at the time. But then in 2004 the language
was further changed. While it was a small change the impact was huge. Instead of only being exempt
if you were paid an hourly rate, you could also now be exempt if you were paid a salary (National
Archives and Records 69:79). The minimum salary rate has not changed since then and remains at 455
a week (United States. Dept. of Labor). To now be exempt as a system developer or systems analyst
you can either be paid $27.63 per hour or a salary of $455 per week. The difference is in those wages
is astounding though. At the fore mentioned hourly rate for a 40 hour work week, you would earn
$57,470.04 a year. Though if a company decided to pay the minimum salary rate,, they would only
make $23,660 a year and would receive no extra

Pluto s Life As A Planet
Pluto s life as a planet was very short, lasting only 75 years which is less than a third of its orbital
period. While Pluto independently orbits the sun in a spheroidal shape two classifications for being
considered a planet Pluto lost its title with the discovery of Eris. Pluto also travels on a different plane
than the rest of the planets, and because it has an extremely elliptical orbit, it occasionally crosses
Neptune s orbital path and, therefore, is occasionally closer to Earth than Neptune (Countdown, 2011).
As a dwarf planet Pluto is the only binary planet in the system due to one of its five moons being half
of its size.
Pluto, the ninth planet in our solar system, was mourned by many when astronomers decided in 2006
that it did not fit the definition of a planet. With the discovery of Eris (a dwarf planet bigger than
Pluto) in 2005, it is easy to understand why astronomers finally ruled out Pluto as a planet. However,
there has been a debate as to whether or not Pluto should be allowed back. The biggest downside to
claiming Pluto as a planet again is that astronomers will have to classify other dwarf planets as a part
of our solar system, forcing children to memorize at least 25 planets instead of eight (Lemonick,
2014). Whether or not it becomes a planet again, we will still be expanding our knowledge of the
dwarf planet and its moons, as well as its impact in our solar system.
The discovery of Pluto is quite interesting considering Lowell s dedication to

Mr. Van Gogh s Starry Night
Desmond Tutu says, Hope is being able to see there is light despite all of the darkness. HOPE. That is
the first word that entered my mind when I saw Starry night painted by Mr. Van Gogh. Even Mr. Van
Gogh mostly used dark colors to his art, the sky which dominated a lot of space in the canvas brings
peacefulness in the painting. The dim light coming from the houses in the village and the church
standing in the middle of it added to the peaceful glow of the painting. The painting reminds me of
how long time ago, people accustomed to sleep and live like that. So simple yet full of peace. The
peacefulness that is difficult to seek by now. In the midst of our circumstances in life and the way we
live right now. Why hope? Because of the outstanding

Go Set A Watchman Conflict Analysis
A major conflict in Go Set a Watchman is the epiphany/reality check that Jean Louise goes through.

This sense of colorblindness is not entirely true. She makes some racist remarks, thus showing how

Theories Of Communicative Competence In Language Teaching
1.1 Preliminaries
Communicative language teaching (CLT) which was mainly developed from social science and
humanities beyond language teaching concerns, has been followed for nearly three decades. Hymes
from the linguistic anthropology (1971) and Habermas (1984) from social philosophy point of view,
proposed different notions of communicative competence in CLT to be used in language teaching and
assessment. Communicative competence, as Richards (1985) claimed, includes knowledge of the
grammar, vocabulary of the language, rules of speaking, knowing how to use and respond to different
types of speech acts and knowing how to use language appropriately. It is believed that the goal of
second language teaching should be communicative competence, and it should include the ability to
use language appropriately in social contexts in order to perform communicative functions and the
ability to combine utterances and communicative functions according to the principles of discourse
(Loveday, 1982; Canale Swain, 1980). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Hymes in 1960s, to function successfully in society, an individual must be able to use
appropriate language in a given situation and understand the social language hints of others, and also
an individual must have the ability to combine one s own social knowledge with contextual
information to understand the intended meaning of someone s utterance which is known as
pragmatics. Pragmalinguistics that is part of pragmatics, applies to more linguistics features of
pragmatics; in other words, it mostly focuses on the way which linguistic forms of a language are used
to obtain certain pragmatic purposes (Thomas,

Jazz vs. Rock: Focusing on the Differences in Instrumentation, Rhythm, and Difficulty
Jazz emerged in New Orleans around 1900. Largely admired by the black communities at first, Jazz
attracted a more diverse audience as it spread. Years later, Rock surfaced and began to take over the
world. Although rock was related to Jazz early on, it quickly veered off into its own direction
specifically during the post war era. Currently, commonalities exist between the two genres, however
the differences in instrumentation, rhythm, and difficulty are the focal points that separate one from
the other.
Jazz bands started with violin, guitar, string bass, and sometimes a wind instrument. ... Show more

Branching into its own genre, rock adopted hard hitting notes using electric guitars, drums, and bass
with lyrics that for some became the defining aspect of rock music. The rhythm is known to be slower
and more regular offering the audience a chance to dance. Elton John was a rock icon with lyrics that
were understood and made you want to move. Crocodile Rock is a prime example of easily
understood lyrics and a rhythm that made you dance: ...while the other kids were rocking round the
clock, we were hopping and bopping to the crocodile rock. The strong pulse allowed even the most
rhythmically challenged to follow along. Lastly, Rock is easier to play due to arranged music and a
lack of collective improvisation. Rock doesn t require much concentration but rather encourages the
audience to let go and have a good time.
To conclude, rock was closely related to jazz music in its start. As time went on, the movement to
electric guitar, drums, and bass led rock on its own path. Even today, rock continues to dominate the
world. Jazz has taken a seat in the background but still is alive in areas such as New Orleans. No
matter the differences, music is needed to get us from one day to the next. Jazz and rock both have the
power to motivate and inspire anybody it touches. As Louis Armstrong says, If it wasn t for jazz, there
never would have been rock n

Coronary Artery Disease
Heart disease, also known as the silent killer , is one of the most common causes of death worldwide,
though many people live with this disease for many years without knowing it. Types of heart diseases
include coronary artery disease, cardiomyopath, valvular heart disease, pericardial disease, and
congenital heart disease. The most common type of heart disease is coronary artery disease. Coronary
artery disease (CAD) is when the arteries that supplies blood for the heart muscle gradually hardens
and thickens (artherosclorosis) because of the buildup from salt, fat, cholesterol and other substances
(plaque) on their inner walls. This process leaves the heart with a lack of oxygen and blood, forcing it

In other words, less than 1% of the people who die are brain dead. A person who is brain dead means
he/she has an irreversible damage in the brain, causing the brain to lose its functions. There are two
definitions of death in Australia. One of them refers to brain death, and the other is defined as,
Irreversible cessation of circulation of the blood (cardiac death the heart stops forever) .
Before a heart may be taken from an organ donor, his/her family would have to give consent under
very short circumstances. This is a very hard decision for families to make because many people
fantasize about brain dead people coming back to life again. Many people have these thoughts,
because a person who is brain dead may seem perfectly normal while lying on the hospital bed with
normal skin colour and continuous breathing.
If the donor s family agrees to donate his/her heart, a transplant may be performed within a few hours.
The drawback after a heart transplant is that the new heart may be rejected by the immune system or
other organs, causing the immune system to send out antibodies to destroy the new heart. Rejections
of the heart may lead to symptoms like dizziness, vomiting, chest pain, shortness of breath and fever
above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pros
We need to understand that lives were lost at San Bernardino and there are bad people in the society,
who continually try to disturb the peace and harmony in the society, negatively impacting the

Psychological Theories Of Violence
Psychological theories of violence examine the internal characteristics that influence criminal
behavior. From this perspective, criminal behavior is viewed as a product of psychological deficits in
development, biological predispositions, psychopathic personality traits, environmental influences,
learned behavior, and overall, one s mental processing of a situation. Though this theory ignores the
situational factors of an event that might influence criminal behavior and focuses on the individual
psyche. A crime of passion, for instance, is a crime motivated by situational factors. It is a type of
violence committed in the moment as a result of anger, frustration, and anxiety. Although the
described emotions are a form of internal expression which accumulated in reaction to the situation,
the psychological theory of violence examines the perpetrators processing of the event leading to the
crime itself rather than the external factors that might have been present to provoke the emotions. ...

An Ode To The User-Friendly Pencil
Old school conquers new school: A personal response to An Ode to the User Friendly Pencil
Technology is upgrading itself and is, perhaps, taking over the world. From virtual reality to
supercomputers, people are depending more on technology in their everyday lives, but is it necessary?
Technology has reached the point where Samsung phones are becoming C4 explosives and 4K
televisions do not display 4K quality. In An Ode to the User Friendly Pencil by Bonnie Laing, she
explains how a simple pencil that we use in our everyday lives is better than a complex computer that
is technologically advanced, and through her ironic tone and economic line of reasoning, she gets that
message across to her readers which I firmly agree on. In her essay, she utilizes irony to add a
sarcastic tone in her essay, making the essay more enjoyable for readers to read. An example of this is
the use of computer jargon to explain why the pencil is the better tool. Laing states how the software

because without a user, a computer is just a sitting duck without the proper programming. It needs to
be programmed to perform certain tasks or it needs a user to give it something to do in order to be
useful, which is what software engineers do for a living. From taking computer science, I can tell you
it is not an easy task, but rather, a hardworking one since we wrestle with the OS rather than the

Research Paper On Freshwater Invertebrates
While most people thinking of invertebrates for the aquarium are thinking of marine invertebrates,
there are a surprising number of freshwater invertebrates that make excellent tank inhabitants. Many
freshwater invertebrates do not require large amounts of space, making them ideal for Nano tanks or
even goldfish bowls. Some eat algae or uneaten fish food, while others are stunningly beautiful.
Sometimes such useful attributes even belong to the same creature. However, freshwater invertebrates
don t always have the same requirements as fish and the requirements differ considerably between
different species.
Freshwater Shrimp
Freshwater shrimp are probably the most decorative freshwater invertebrates. There are many species,
each with its own color pattern and mode of life. As most species are small, they do not require much
space. Freshwater shrimp are harassed or eaten by many fish species so tank mates must be considered

April 10, 2016 Determining pH
Introduction:
In this Lab report we will be using Red Cabbage extract as an indicator to determine the pH of
substances. The purpose of this experiment is to see if and how base and acids react. Indicators are
chemicals that change color depending on the pH solution that they are dissolved in. This experiment
will determine which items we use to determine ph. The pH of a solution indicates its acidity or
alkalinity. There is a ph. scale that determines if the items such as lemons or bleach are an acid or a
base. I have chosen to use red cabbage in this experiment so that I can know the range of the item that

Buffer solutions needed are in test tubes. Then get seven test tubes and place them in a rack and label
them. Place 3 ml of buffer into the (test tube 1 should be put in 1). I then put the appreciate amount in
I each tube. Then added 1.5 mL of red cabbage juice to each tube. Then I covered the tubes with Para
film and mixed thoroughly and waited until I saw changes if there were any.
Results:
The results of my experiment were as follows the pH of 2 has a pink color and the ph. of 12 had a blue
color. As I go down the chart the pH turned darker as I got to 6 and higher. See the figure 1 for the
changes in the color as you go from a pH of 2 to 12. As I got to 10 it was still a green blue color.
Figure 1
Discussion:
I have found out that the any number below 7 is more acidic such as lemons and bananas. I have found
that in conducting this experiment that cabbage juice was more acidic when added to the Ph. of 6 or
less within the buffer solution. Greater with the more Alkaline. There is more acid which makes the
solution a red to pink color and then it goes to neutral then it go to green than to blue as the level gets

Guns, Germs And Steel Essay
Guns, Germs and Steel
By Jared Diamond
In the book Guns, Germs and Steel Jared Diamond who is a biophysics scientist and a psychologist,
set out on a journey to find out the reason behind great achievements and conquest of the Europeans.
What is the secret of success of Europeans? His hypothesis was very original and at first looked very
simple, it was guns, germs and steel. The journey of Diamond took over 30 years and helped him
answer the main questions of human history and what is it that separates humans today from rich and
poor and from haves and have not s. To do this he had to go back when everyone was equal.
His quest started off in New Guinea when he was asked by Yali a New Guinean politician a question:
why you white ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Diamond believes that the main reason why people were able to create such a great civilization in
Middle East is because they had over produced food so people were able to specialize in labor and
produce military, leaders, architects, art and such. But why New Guineans were not able to do the
same?
Middle East had familiarized itself with farming, which in turn made it possible for people to advance
in agriculture which gave them large amounts of food. They were able to spend less time gathering the
food as it was farmed close to their homes. Another important aspect is that planting the wheat and
barley was very simple, all it took was to spread the seed around the field. New Guineans learned
about farming as well but they were not as fortunate as Middle East to have plants that grew from
seeds, instead they had to dig an individual hole for each plant and then plant each plant separate.
Once again they were not as efficient as Middle East. Middle East started to develop large
communities and build cities and had great advantages. They were economically stable and had build
militaries first for self defense and later to be used to conquer and expand. For thousands of years
Middle East was booming but it all came to a stop. They had over used their land and water resources
and followed by a drought they were forced to migrate and find a new place. They migrated towards
west and east and stayed in the same latitudinal region, therefore the

The Law And Common Law
INTRODUCTION
In the field of using another person or and organisations land under the bind of a contractual
agreement is normally in place to clearly state and establish each parties rights and obligations to each
other and indeed to the property. Common law has a role to place in relation to these tenancies
whether they be residential or commercial as far as trying to protect tenants and newer legislations are
always geared towards protecting the rights of tenants, this is very important considering the current
backdrop and trend towards renting property in the United Kingdom as opposed to homeownership.
Common law does not have the same reputation in relation to advocating tenants rights and are best

4 The fourth kind of license and the most important in relation to the unique factors that a court in
Northern Ireland will take into consideration in distinguishing between a lease and a license is a
contractual licence. A contractual licence which is more relevant in this case is in effect permission to
use or occupy land or property, this type of licence derives from an implied contract. The licensee
does not have a legal estate however, A license normally infers occupational rights similar to that a
hotel owner has over a guest, due to the level of control that the hotel owner exercises over their
property the guest will not have an exclusive possession of the room they occupy and are seen
ultimately as lodgers or a licensee.
While there are the four different forms of licence it is vital to note that it is a very basic different
between all four which has been recognised law for a long time. If we view a licence in a historical
context we see it has long been established that is does not grant exclusive possession. Property
passeth no interest nor alters or transfers property in anything, but only makes an action lawful, which
without it had been unlawful Vaughan, Thomas v Sorrell ([1673] EWHC (KB) J85)
Those in possession of a license at most have exclusive occupation and do not have the statutory
protection of tenure under the (Rent Act 1977) which a lease holder enjoys. It must be noted that a
licence holder will have a

The Free Image Hosting Website
Anyone that is hip to the internet probably knows about Imgur. The free image hosting website lets
you share, upload and embed images without even using an account. Because of this, it has gained a
loyal following and is now the go to website to quickly share a picture, meme of GIF.
Reddit is mostly responsible for launching the image hosting website into the forefront however, it s
not without its faults. Limitations exist for both websites and have inspired the release of alternative
options. Quite a few of them are out there so let s get down to brass tax and narrow it down to 10.
1. SMUG MUG: IMGUR FOR PRO S AND SMUG REDDIT PEOPLE
SmugMug is still a relative underdog. It does not have a giant community like Imgur or Flickr.
Addiontaly, it lacks 500px. That being said, it does have some amazing tools for the pro photographer.
For anyone that s really serious about putting pictures up for sale, SmugMug is the way to go.
Imgur is great for the average Reddit neckbeard, but there s more to life than just posting dank memes
on Reddit. Some people actually want to contribute their art online and perhaps even make a profit
from it. Smug Mug lets photographers create custom galleries to show off your work in a unique way.
The free trial is a bit limited but opting for the paid subscription will definitely be worth it.
2. DEVIANT ART: IMGUR FOR ARTISTS NOT FOR REDDIT
For those looking to post cat memes and pun jokes, look no further than Reddit. However, any

The Untold Stories Through the Lenses of the ARVN Soldiers...
The Vietnam War began in December in 1956 and ended in April 1975. Initially the war was between
North Vietnam and South Vietnam but they both formed allies. North Vietnam s allies were the Soviet
Union, China, and other communist allies, while South Vietnam s allies were anti communist
countries like the United States. The United States entered the war and sought the help of the South
Vietnamese army (ARVN). Despite the US collaborating with the ARVNs, the ARVNs were
constantly belittled and were not recognized for their contributions. Therefore, because the U.S. failed
to work effectively with the ARVNs, it may have cost the Americans the war. In other words, if the

David Mar in the, Vietnam 1945 The Quest for Power, explained how significant this year was for the
Vietnamese, while the French, Japanese, Chinese, British, and Americans fought for control over
Indochina. The Vietnamese quickly discovered they could publish, organize, and demonstrate in favor
of a national independence, as long as they did not hinder Japanese defense preparations. As a result of
the multiple countries trying to gain control of Vietnam, Vietnam went from a colonial state, a royal
government to a democratic republic. By the end of 1945, these political convolutions finally became
things of the past. For eighty years, the French worked to seemingly transform Vietnam into a Paris
replica, calling it Indochina and taking advantage of all its peoples and resources. Ho Chi Minh
declared himself president on September 2 and announced the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (Marr,
1997). Once Ho Chi Minh proclaimed Vietnam s Declaration of Independence, he called on the allies
to recognize the Vietnamese people s rights to independence and to be a liberated country. However,
not long after Vietnam gained their independence did the United States declare war. Although Vietnam
was able to withstand a thousand years of Chinese ruling, they suffered enormously during the
Vietnam War. However, one has to question who won or lost the Vietnam War. This question has
plagued many Americans and other people. Despite who won or lost the war and whether the Vietnam

Cheating Is A Hot Topic
Cheating
Introduction
Cheating is a hot topic these days. There is much pressure on a student or child to perform well in
class. Not only does the pressure build academically, but physically on the sports field. As parents, are
we encouraging this behavior because we want our student to do well and achieve the end goal of
being recognized or to receive a scholarship? I see it happening and depending on who the
child/parent is, I might say something, because the end result could result horribly. I can remember a
time, and I am dating myself here, back in high school, I remember it distinctly. I was a sophomore at
Portage Northern High School. I was sitting in Mr. Sterner s Spanish class and we are about to take a
test. Let me advice, Spanish was not a fun class, especially when it is not as interactive as the classes
our children are attending today. Our teachers/professors have learned a few things since the 80 s.
However, I am preparing for a test and yes, I cheated. I purposely wrote answers on the top of my note
book where it just shows indentations of the words I needed. Did I get caught?, YES! Mr. Sterner
pulled me aside after class and directly asked if I did. I wasn t going to lie, but flat out told him that I
did not feel confident or prepared for this exam. I knew others were cheating, but I was one that got
caught and remorse did set in. I was probably more fearful of my parents finding out than anything
else. Yikes! Looking back, I would have a

Marius Pontmercy s Rebellion Against The French Government
Marius Pontmercy should not be convicted for his participation in the rebellion against the French
government because it was not a direct assault on the government. First, the friends of Marius were
very involved in the uprising and Marius felt an obligation to support his friends in their cause since
they had been so supportive of him. Second, Marius father, Georges Pontmercy, was a soldier in
Napoleon s army. He was dedicated to a cause he believed in and because Marius had a great respect
for his father, he probably wanted to honor his legacy by following that example determination.
Finally, the night of the uprising was the night Maris learned of Jean Valjean s plan to leave with his
daughter Cosette. Since Marius loved Cosette he was utterly devastated to discover she was leaving
him. This shock caused him to feel as though there were no purpose to his life so his involvement in
the barricade was a way to escape his depression. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Bank Medicini was another bank to be sued by its customers in the US and in Austria. The bank
reported that two of their funds were affected by Madoff s scheme. This resulted in several
consequences, besides the bank being sued, such as going for sale and being under investigation
together with its founder.
Another bank, the Westport National Bank, was sued for helping and enhancing Madoff s fraud. It

The Pros And Cons Of Politicians
Government is said to be necessary to the existence of a civilized society but how could one survive in
a society where the Government isn t civil to a nation. They have consistently failed to keep
Bahamians safe and secure. In Bahamian society cronyism, embezzlement, scandals and corruption
have plagued our unsuccessful governments. They must be held accountable thus, circumstances like
these should result in immediate termination of any politician without exceptions.
The unfair practice by Politicians who provides employment and other favors to individuals has been
skeptic for Bahamian. It is common that once Government changes, many of the staff within the
various ministries will also. In June 2012, The Tribune reported that in less than two months in office,
the current Administration decided not to renew the contracts of eighty Urban Renewal employees.
Thus, eighty persons were left unemployed and eighty families affected due to the actions of the
careless Politicians. Many that campaigned and organized rallies for the Progressive Liberal Party
have been compensated with employment in Government agencies. A similar incident had occurred
back in 2007 when the Opposition (Free ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Nt1310 Unit 3 Project Part 2 Types Of Equipment
Project Part 2: Types of Equipment There are various types of equipment that the company should
look for when considering this network. The first item to look at when considering equipment is the
Operating system and software that we would need. Next, the group took into consideration the type
of server the company needs to make this network a reality. Another thing that we looked at is the
possibility of having ThinClients over regular desktops for all workstations. Of course, it was taken
into consideration that some employees would not want ThinClients. So, we show the type of tower
we plan to place into those spaces, along with any peripheral device for both. Then, we will look at the
network devices that will go into each building that include switches, routers, repeaters, hubs, and
wireless access points. Finally, the group will note guidelines for choosing a local ISP at each site.
Each Item outlined helps to build a network based on the specifications given by the company.
The Operating System
The best operating system for this company running on thin clients would be Linux. Some of the
advantages Linux are the cost. There is zero cost to download and maintain the Linux system. Not
only is Linux free to download on multiple computers, there is also the advantage of updated or

Baker s Position There are two methods that are being tested for this position to evaluate this employee s job performance. These methods are the factor comparison and the point method. Both of these methods could be effective for evaluating this position. Both of these methods are based on the employee s skills. They are based on the skills of the individual only, not compared to other s skills within the organization. However, using these methods could also be difficult to assess the baker s skill level. Research would have to be done using other stores comparable to Kudler Fine Foods and their skilled baker s. This research would have to collect data that would give the manager s at Kudler an idea of what the job performance level should be as a baker. • 5. Upper Extremity Robotic Analysis As of 2016, approximately 795,000 people have experienced a stroke, with an individual experiencing a stroke nearly every 40 seconds (Mozaffarian et al., 2016). The American Heart Association (2013) predicts that the number of individuals who will have a stroke will increase 20% by 2030. The increased prevalence of stroke may lead to serious issues in daily functioning for individuals; therefore, stroke interventions that address functional impairments are crucial. Upper extremity robotics is a relatively novel occupational therapy (OT) intervention for stroke rehabilitation, so critical examination of the effect of robotics to address body structure/function impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions is required (World ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Occupational therapists working with the stroke population use activity analysis and observation skills to identify and analyze the functional impairments that result in activity limitations (McHugh Pendleton Schultz Krohn, 2011). Established and effective OT interventions, such as repetitive task training (RTP) and constraint induced movement therapy (CIMT), are used to address functional impairments in the stroke population (Nilsen, Gillen, Arbesman, Lieberman, 2015; Wolf et al., 2006). According to the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (2012), 60.7% of registered OTs provide rehabilitation services to individuals who had been diagnosed with a Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA). A systematic review (Nilsen et al., 2015) found that the responsibilities of an occupational therapist include administering a variety of assessments to create an occupational profile when treating an individual following a stroke. One example of an OT assessment that measures participation, one s involvement in a life situation (WHO, 2001), is the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM), which asks the client to identify up to five occupations he or she would like improve performance for, and rate his or her perceived performance and satisfaction of these occupations (Law et al., 2014). Performance skills and client factors are often evaluated with Fugl Meyer Assessment and the Action Research Arm Test to further assess functionality of the upper extremity with respect to neuromusculoskeletal functions, sensory functions, and motor skills (Fugl Meyer, Jaasko, Leyman, Olsson, Steglind, 1975; Lyle, 1981; Nilsen et al., ... • 8. A New Progressive Movement And Naji Essay The lives of Abu Ali al Kilawi and Naji were drastically changed by the rapid modernization of Syria for Ali and Iraq for Naji. Abu and Naji s lives changed in unique ways of one another, considering the different ways the two states modernized, the influences of the country occupying them and the social and economic statuses of the men within those states. In order to understand the ways in which Abu and Naji s lives changed it is necessary to analyze the way in which the community evolved during the time of modernization, the specific role the two individuals held within the community before the development, and finally connect these two ideas and interpret how the individuals lives were subsequently affected by modernization. Abu loses his status and role to play in society to a new progressive movement and Naji faces discrimination based on his Jewish faith because of the spreading anti semitic ideology. First, understanding the way in which the community in Syria was set up and how it worked during the time of modernization is essential. At the beginning of modernizing Syria, was a failed revolution against the French military. This failure morphed popular opinion on how to progress forward as a nation. Rather than attempting to dispel the French from Syria, Syrians decided it was their only option to work side by side with the French through diplomacy. This new found group built strictly on forming diplomatic relationships with the French government became called ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Story Of Goldilocks And The Three Bears Zoya Ali Ms. Chinnick ENG3U1 1 November 2016 A Crumby Story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears Oh boy, you ll never guess what kind of story that goddam sonuvabitch Stradlater told me. It has to be the phoniest story I ve ever heard, and I m actually not lying this time. Anyways, you re not going to believe me so I don t even know why I m telling ya, but here it is, the same goddam thing that Stradlater told me. I suppose I should start at the beginning of the story, it only makes sense. Anyways, he started the story by telling me about some phony girl named Goldilocks or something and these three very sore bears who lived in a small house in the middle of the forest. I hate when I hear about others who are poorer than me. It bothers me when others don t have the same advantages as me. It depresses the hell out of me, it really does. Anyways, you wouldn t think anybody would be living way the hell out in the goddam forest, but here they were. Honestly who still believes in this fairy tale crap anymore. Allie, my younger brother you know the one I told you about. He used to love hearing fairy tales and stories, he really did. Me, not so much especially the crumby ones. It bothers me when parents tell their kids these stories with phony characters and phony plots, if you want to know the truth. The characters are always so goddam crumby, they re worst than the actors in movies. They never act like real people, but I guess that s why they re called fairy tales. Anyways, the ... • 10. This American (Working) Life What is your average workweek? According to the Organisation for Economic Co operation and Development over sixty six percent of women and eighty eight percent of men in America work over 40 hours each week (4). Yet not everyone receives overtime pay. Executives, teachers, managers and others are not required by law to receive overtime pay (U.S. Cong. Federal Labor). These and other professions are labeled exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. An exempt profession, when put on a salary, is not protected by the FLSA and can work as many hours as required with no extra compensation. According to a new bill, S. 1747 The Computer Professionals Update Act , legislators would extend these exemptions to other IT professions (27 31). In a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There really is no reason that any law should not be clear. And it should help the poor. However, one of the main problems with increasing exceptions to the FLSA is that if an employee is being paid the minimum salary for an exempted worker, they are within a whisper of the poverty line. The original language pertaining to anyone working with computers was first introduced in 1990. An be labeled exempt one would have to be paid an hourly rate and paid no less than six and a half times the minimum wage. In 1996 the rate was adjusted to a fixed rate of $27.63 an hour(U.S. Cong. Small Business). It was only small decrease from the previous rate at the time. But then in 2004 the language was further changed. While it was a small change the impact was huge. Instead of only being exempt if you were paid an hourly rate, you could also now be exempt if you were paid a salary (National Archives and Records 69:79). The minimum salary rate has not changed since then and remains at 455 a week (United States. Dept. of Labor). To now be exempt as a system developer or systems analyst you can either be paid $27.63 per hour or a salary of $455 per week. The difference is in those wages is astounding though. At the fore mentioned hourly rate for a 40 hour work week, you would earn $57,470.04 a year. Though if a company decided to pay the minimum salary rate,, they would only make $23,660 a year and would receive no extra ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Pluto s Life As A Planet Pluto s life as a planet was very short, lasting only 75 years which is less than a third of its orbital period. While Pluto independently orbits the sun in a spheroidal shape two classifications for being considered a planet Pluto lost its title with the discovery of Eris. Pluto also travels on a different plane than the rest of the planets, and because it has an extremely elliptical orbit, it occasionally crosses Neptune s orbital path and, therefore, is occasionally closer to Earth than Neptune (Countdown, 2011). As a dwarf planet Pluto is the only binary planet in the system due to one of its five moons being half of its size. Pluto, the ninth planet in our solar system, was mourned by many when astronomers decided in 2006 that it did not fit the definition of a planet. With the discovery of Eris (a dwarf planet bigger than Pluto) in 2005, it is easy to understand why astronomers finally ruled out Pluto as a planet. However, there has been a debate as to whether or not Pluto should be allowed back. The biggest downside to claiming Pluto as a planet again is that astronomers will have to classify other dwarf planets as a part of our solar system, forcing children to memorize at least 25 planets instead of eight (Lemonick, 2014). Whether or not it becomes a planet again, we will still be expanding our knowledge of the dwarf planet and its moons, as well as its impact in our solar system. The discovery of Pluto is quite interesting considering Lowell s dedication to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That is the first word that entered my mind when I saw Starry night painted by Mr. Van Gogh. Even Mr. Van Gogh mostly used dark colors to his art, the sky which dominated a lot of space in the canvas brings peacefulness in the painting. The dim light coming from the houses in the village and the church standing in the middle of it added to the peaceful glow of the painting. The painting reminds me of how long time ago, people accustomed to sleep and live like that. So simple yet full of peace. The peacefulness that is difficult to seek by now. In the midst of our circumstances in life and the way we live right now. Why hope? Because of the outstanding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Go Set A Watchman Conflict Analysis A major conflict in Go Set a Watchman is the epiphany/reality check that Jean Louise goes through. She realizes that Maycomb may be in the same location, but almost everything has changed. My aunt is a hostile stranger, my Calpurnia won t have anything to do with me, Hank is insane, and Atticus something s wrong with me, it s something about me. It has to be because all these people cannot have changed. (167) It may have changed physically or metaphorically for example, the home that she grew up in is now an ice cream parlor and Atticus is no longer the hero she thought he was. Atticus was her watchman , her moral guide and leader. He did not change his opinion of the blacks in Maycomb per se, but she is no longer viewing his point of ... Had she insight, could she have pierced the barriers of her highly selective, insular world, she may have discovered that all her life she had been with a visual defect which had gone unnoticed and neglected by herself and by those closest to her: she was born color blind. (122) This sense of colorblindness is not entirely true. She makes some racist remarks, thus showing how growing up in the south influenced her opinion. • 14. Theories Of Communicative Competence In Language Teaching 1.1 Preliminaries Communicative language teaching (CLT) which was mainly developed from social science and humanities beyond language teaching concerns, has been followed for nearly three decades. Hymes from the linguistic anthropology (1971) and Habermas (1984) from social philosophy point of view, proposed different notions of communicative competence in CLT to be used in language teaching and assessment. Communicative competence, as Richards (1985) claimed, includes knowledge of the grammar, vocabulary of the language, rules of speaking, knowing how to use and respond to different types of speech acts and knowing how to use language appropriately. Megan Boyer American Popular Music CU MUS 115 24 Apr. 2016 Jazz vs. Rock: Focusing on the Differences in Instrumentation, Rhythm, and Difficulty Jazz emerged in New Orleans around 1900. Largely admired by the black communities at first, Jazz attracted a more diverse audience as it spread. Years later, Rock surfaced and began to take over the world. Although rock was related to Jazz early on, it quickly veered off into its own direction specifically during the post war era. Currently, commonalities exist between the two genres, however the differences in instrumentation, rhythm, and difficulty are the focal points that separate one from the other. Jazz bands started with violin, guitar, string bass, and sometimes a wind instrument. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Branching into its own genre, rock adopted hard hitting notes using electric guitars, drums, and bass with lyrics that for some became the defining aspect of rock music. The rhythm is known to be slower and more regular offering the audience a chance to dance. Elton John was a rock icon with lyrics that were understood and made you want to move. Crocodile Rock is a prime example of easily understood lyrics and a rhythm that made you dance: ...while the other kids were rocking round the clock, we were hopping and bopping to the crocodile rock. The strong pulse allowed even the most rhythmically challenged to follow along. Lastly, Rock is easier to play due to arranged music and a lack of collective improvisation. Rock doesn t require much concentration but rather encourages the audience to let go and have a good time. To conclude, rock was closely related to jazz music in its start. As time went on, the movement to electric guitar, drums, and bass led rock on its own path. Even today, rock continues to dominate the world. Jazz has taken a seat in the background but still is alive in areas such as New Orleans. No matter the differences, music is needed to get us from one day to the next. Many freshwater invertebrates do not require large amounts of space, making them ideal for Nano tanks or even goldfish bowls. Some eat algae or uneaten fish food, while others are stunningly beautiful. Sometimes such useful attributes even belong to the same creature. However, freshwater invertebrates don t always have the same requirements as fish and the requirements differ considerably between different species. Freshwater Shrimp Freshwater shrimp are probably the most decorative freshwater invertebrates. There are many species, each with its own color pattern and mode of life. As most species are small, they do not require much space. Freshwater shrimp are harassed or eaten by many fish species so tank mates must be considered carefully. Diamond believes that the main reason why people were able to create such a great civilization in Middle East is because they had over produced food so people were able to specialize in labor and produce military, leaders, architects, art and such. But why New Guineans were not able to do the same? Middle East had familiarized itself with farming, which in turn made it possible for people to advance in agriculture which gave them large amounts of food. They were able to spend less time gathering the food as it was farmed close to their homes. Another important aspect is that planting the wheat and barley was very simple, all it took was to spread the seed around the field. New Guineans learned about farming as well but they were not as fortunate as Middle East to have plants that grew from seeds, instead they had to dig an individual hole for each plant and then plant each plant separate. Once again they were not as efficient as Middle East. Middle East started to develop large communities and build cities and had great advantages. They were economically stable and had build militaries first for self defense and later to be used to conquer and expand. For thousands of years Middle East was booming but it all came to a stop.
