Role Of Accountability And Control System
VI.Accountability and Control System, How to Control the Policy Implementation that may Occur
Hazards and also Accountability in the Process of Policy Implementation Best efforts to overcome
forest and land fire through preventing before it occurs, minimizing the impact, and minimizing
forest and land fire extension area. According to Ministry for National and Development Planning,
there are three things that need to be done first to prevent forest fires and land. First, reviewing the
business permits that have been issued by the Government for forestry and plantation; second
enforcing on business compliance with regulations and policies related to efforts to control land
and forest fire; and third the need for an early warning system (EWS) in the prevention and control
of forest and land fire. Early Warning System (EWS) on prevention and control of forest and land
fire is a system that contains information about the potential or predictions related to land and forest
fires in one location at a certain time. This system has been developed by various agencies with a
variety of methods. But the most important thing and should be encouraged is the implementation
of the use of such information at the site level by local governments and communities. Each of
ministry and agency independently has made efforts to control forest and land fires in accordance
with the duties and functions as ministry or technical institutions. Still according to the Ministry for

My Native Costume By Gentileschi
Once, there was a woman who claimed that her identity is like the spirit of Caesar. She was raped
when she was nineteen, and public condemned her of losing her virtue, even though virtue is not a
woman s consumable good that can be achieved by purity or lost by accident. This reaction is
similar to that of school teacher in the poem of MartГn Espada, My Native Costume. In the poem,
the teacher asks the writer to wear traditional costume for the students even though the writer
defines himself as a lawyer. She is full of prejudice that Puerto Rican people will always wear
traditional clothes, but she rather thinks that she is doing a good job for her students while saying
the children want to see a native costume (Espada). Probably the public... Show more content on

Judith Slaying Holofernes is one of her masterpieces that has been acknowledged as a proper piece
to understand the main characteristics of her painting style. Carol Strickland, an American art
historian, explains that this painting shows how Gentileschi depicted her subject into the style of
Caravaggio, who was her father s teacher and famous for dramatic lightning (Strickland, 47). Based
on these facts, some critics conjecture that Gentileschi may just have borrowed the dramatic story
from the Book of Judith to express her technique that resembled that of Caravaggio. They argue that
it is unreasonable and too subjective to relate Judith Slaying Holofernes with the identity of
Gentileschi. Identity of Gentileschi, however, cannot be separated with the story of Judith and the
painting Judith Slaying Holofernes because Gentileschi s identity severely resembles that of Judith.
Their struggle, success leaded by their capacity, and destruction of the gender stereotypes are main
common aspects that Judith and Gentileschi share. These qualities further prove how Artemisia
Gentileschi was an ideal feminist who asserted her freedom inside an unfair

Sexism In Society
Sexism, racism, and violence have been a part of the world since the beginning of time.
Everyday, it is clear that issues such as these continue to play a role in the lives of many people.
Our society has moved forward in the direction towards ending racism, sexism, and violence, but
these changes still do not meet the standard of decency. Despite the modern movement for
women s rights being implemented into today s society, as well as efforts to eliminate racism and
violent language, humanity needs to become more progressive in order to create a truly equal
society. Violence in language gives the general public the image that violence is tolerable, while
also promoting brutality. Language guidelines from the North York Women Teacher s Association
alter violent phrases such as, get away with murder into its alternative, avoid consequences.
Violence has made its way into modern language where the majority of people do not necessarily
try to stop it. According to Michiko Kakutani, a Pulitzer Prize winning literary critic, the
prohibition of certain words, phrases, and ideas is advanced in the cause of building a... Show more

Sexism in modern life is men receiving a higher salary than women for just being men. The idea
that women cannot be strong while being independent is absurd. Society uses harsh language
towards women as if the negativity in the words have a neutral tone and meaning, when in fact
they represent the very reason why women are still viewed as weaker and dependent upon men.
Sexism will not cease to exist unless the degrading of women stops. According to Kakutani s The
Word Police, the 1991 edition of the Random House Webster s Dictionary includes linguistic
mutations to avoid sexism, such as the change from women to womyn, and waiter or waitress to
waitron. This shows how some communities have accepted that both genders should be equally
treated and

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Daycare
Fretting over the best way to mind your little one when you are away at work is commonplace
for most working moms. Choosing the right child care and ensuring your child is in safe hands is
in no doubt a hard nut to crack; and once a right choice is made, mothers are liable to be more
relaxed and confident at work.
The family system in Nigeria gives room to having family members around to help with childcare.
It is the norm to always have grannies (paternal and maternal), aunties, and even nieces at hand to
assist in taking care of your little one but in a situation where this isn t possible, getting the right
childcare is unavoidable.
When thinking about childcare the very first question that comes to mind is Nanny or Daycare?
Any of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With your child at a daycare, rushing to make pickups and drop offs to and fro work can really be
time consuming and tiring. A day careoption also means you have to run a rigid work schedule in
compliance with the operational hours of the crГЁche where your child is enrolled (no after hours
or impromptu babysitting).
In choosing a daycare option for your child s care, it s important that you lookout for only
registered day care centres that meet government standards and policies. To also ease the burden,
it s advised that your selected crГЁche should be within the proximity of your office location. By
this, drop offs and pickups are easier and you can also make unannounced visits to the centre for
periodic checks.
Giving a child one on one attention in early childhood is important but early interaction with
other kids is also very needful and should not be overlooked. An only child or firstborn that had
personalized nanny care is more likely to have a bit of difficulty interacting with other kids or
adjusting to the outside world (my daughter is a classic example due to the nature of my job at
her time of birth, she enjoyed dedicated nanny care till she was 20 months old, and thus became
very fussy around other people. Getting her involved with kids her age at outings or in church, and
settling her into school was an almost impossible

Dan Savage Character Analysis
Just by looking at him, you aren t going to know that Dan Savage is a newspaper column writer for
The Stranger, that founded It Gets Better, a multimedia organization to inspire and assist LGBTQ+
youth.
People need heroes because everyone needs somebody to look up to. Dan is my hero because not
only is he standing up for a community, but he doesn t have to do anything about the problems in
the community if he doesn t feel like doing it.
In my own opinion, Dan Savage holds the characteristic of brave. He shows bravery when he
stands up for who and what he believes in and that takes bravery since there will always be people
against him and his beliefs in some way or another so he has to be brave enough to stay standing
and to continue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He shows compassion by reaching out and helping LGBTQ+ youth with problems they face like
bullying, family rejection, and self harm. I feel that he shows sympathy and/or empathy for the
problems the youth of this community are facing, since he is part of the community himself, and
may have gone through the same problems.
Now, your opinion may be different from mine, and you may not think that Dan could be described
as unprejudiced. Although, he has shown the trait of unprejudiced by starting the It Gets Better
organization. If he was Prejudiced, the organization most likely never would have started. It may
have even been started, but for the complete opposite reason; to go against LGBTQ+ youth, rather
than be for them. However, the past statements are not the case, and he started the organization with
the intent of helping the individuals that need it.
People need heroes because everyone needs somebody to look up to. Dan Savage is my hero on
account of him being brave, compassionate, and unprejudiced. Considering all of the above, Dan
Savage, newspaper column writer for The Stranger, that started the It Gets Better organization for
LGBTQ+ youth, is my hero. Seeing that he holds traits that go towards my definition of the word,
Hero; A leader who can stand up and care about what they believe in without other people s

King Lear Adaptations
I think that the National Theater s King Lear was the more effective play. This is for two
reasons, because it was had more hidden details and had better acting. These two features made
the play easier to watch and more entertaining.
First off, the National Theater s play had more hidden details that gave the viewers subtle
clues as to the setting and characters, a great example of showing instead of telling which made
the play much more interesting. An example of this was the microphone for Cordelia and her
future husband was pointed to his side, even though Cordelia was there alone. This shows the lack
of respect that women were given, King Lear was symbolically giving away land to a non existent
husband over his blood borne daughter. This reveals how little he ... Show more content on

The National Theater s King Lear had other intricacies such as
King Lear hitting Reagan s rear shows that his love might be one of an inappropriate nature and
reveals some of his character traits.
Secondly, in the National Theater s adaptation of King Lear, I felt the actors and actresses
had better acting. King Lear was shown as being crazier and more short tempered which makes
his descent into madness later on more believable. It also shows that he is prone to overreacting
as he flips over tables when he feels unsatisfied, this leads the viewer to see why it made sense in
his mind to banish Cordelia. In Olivier s play, King Lear is shown as much more level headed which
makes it out of character for him to banish Cordelia and even hold the contest in the first place. As
well, in the National Theater s King Lear the sisters Goneril and Reagan were portrayed more
realistically. Goneril delivered her speech with a hint of nervousness, which would be likely given
her father s unpredictableness and how important this was. She had to hope that her

Diffusion of Osmosis through a Membrane
Introduction
The aim of these experiments are to determine the diffusion of osmosis through a selectively
permeable membrane by using a solute and determining the rate at which concentration moves from
an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration and marking the time taken from
the starting point to the end point. Membranes can be impermeable to larger molecules such as
ions and proteins to pass through where permeable membranes will allow hydrophobic molecules
such as lipids and small molecules like oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide to pass through.
The motive force for the movement of water is the differences in osmotic pressure between ... Show

The percentage indicates the number of grams of solute per 100ml of solution. Secondly, to
assemble the funnel apparatus, you will have to obtain a section of membrane and keep it wet.
And then you will need to place the membrane of the mouth of the funnel and secure it with an
elastic band, then fold the membrane over the first elastic band and secure it with second elastic
band. Make sure the membrane is tight over the mouth of the funnel and it should not leak. The
membrane should not be allowed to get dry during this experiment. Then you need to add one
drop of food colouring to your sugar solution and by doing this it will make it easier to identify
the solution in the tube of the thistle funnel. Then you have to suspend the funnel in the beaker
with the mouth of the funnel about 2cm off the bottom of the beaker. Once done this, you will
pour distilled water into the beaker until the water level is 1cm above the lower rim of the funnel.
When you are making the control, you use a dropper to fill the funnel with coloured distilled
water to the first mark which is the lowest point. When you are making the experiments, you use a
dropper to fill the funnel to just below the first mark with the sugar solution and remember the
volume used. You need to watch the movement of the solution and when it reaches the first mark,
make a note of the time because this will be the starting point. The funnel will be marked at 1mm
intervals so allow the solution to rise to exactly 10 mm and make a note of this time. Once you
have done the first replicate empty both funnels and examine the membranes for damage and then
do 2 more replicates using both funnels and both funnels will contain the sugar

Billy Elliot And Bent It Like Beckham
Everybody has dreams, but sometimes those dreams are difficult to realize because those dreams
don t match with the values and customs of the society they are in .The message presented in the
movies Bent it like Beckham, directed by Gurinder Chadha (2002) and Billy Elliot, directed by
Stephen Daldry(2000) is the rebellion of the main characters against their own culture to pursue
their dream. The theme is shown through cultural settings and the comparison of the relationship
between Jesse and Tony with the relationship between Billy and Michael. First of all, the cultural
context of both films is a huge obstacle to the main characters dream. Jess comes from an Indian

situation, Jackie put all his hopes on his son by sending him to school and box classes because of
their poor financial situation. In both films, the family of the main characters want their child to

This part of your exam is worth 30 points.
Using the provided network diagram, write a program that finds the shortest path routing using the

2.Provide a Word document with screenshots that explains how your program incorporates the
Bellman Ford algorithm. Ensure you explain and show how you incorporated the iterative process
and determined when the routing table for your node was optimum. You can incorporate your
outputs into this document; however, you must identify where in your source code you print the
results required in deliverable 1 above.
This algorithm calculates the shortest path using the bottom up approach. The Bellman Ford
algorithm using a relaxation formula and calculates the path between each edge and iterates for V 1
times using this formula to finally calculate the shortest path. We are assuming that there are no
negative weight cycle in the network.
It starts by calculating the shortest path between one node at first, then it checks for the path
between two nodes, and so on proceeds in each iteration. I have put the outer loop as V 1, where V
is the total number of vertices that is present in the network. In our case, V=6. Therefore, there must
be V 1, which is 5 iterations to obtain the optimal shortest path to each of the node from the source
node.
The below shown highlighted screenshot is the comparison relaxation formula used to check at
each edge.
If we iterate through all the edges one more time, and still get the shortest path, this means that there
is a negative weight cycle in the network. Hence,

More than The Drum Beat
O.M.G, I love that beat. The few years I have spent in the United States of Americas, more generally
in the western culture, it is very common to hear young people embrace such phrases in
appreciating music. In non western culture, music is always created for very specific purposes and
one cannot just love that beat. Music is more than just the beat, rhythm and a sing along melody. In
this paper, I will compare the traditional purpose of music and the culture of the drum in Native
American and Ugandan tribes. Dr. Peck, in her book, Native American Music, defines culture as

American popular culture of the Cold War period is associated with the ideas of non conformity
among those who do not possess much power in the society. As it can be seen from the Chapter 12
in Major Problems in American Popular Culture, the two groups associated with rebellion are
teenagers/schoolchildren and young females. Clearly, these two cases are quite different, provided
the concerns around the behaviours of school kids are mostly linked to delinquency, while young
femalepopular culture is often criticised for the excessive sexual liberation. Nevertheless, increased
interest in sex is also a concern for the critics of teenager popular culture, primarily, comic books
that, in the views of many, promoted violence and sexuality. However,

Essay about Big Business In The Gilded Age
The late 19th century and early 20th century, dubbed the Gilded Age by writer Mark Twain, was
a time of great growth and change in every aspect of the United States, and even more so for big
business. It was this age that gave birth to many of the important modern business practices we
take for granted today, and those in charge of business at the time were considered revolutionaries,
whether it was for the good of the people or the good of themselves. The exact period of time in
which the Gilded Ageoccurred is ever debatable, but most historians can at least agree that it
started within the 20 years after the Civil War ended and lasted until the early 1920s. (West) The
Gilded Age itself was characterized by the beginnings of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This law forced the railroads to report to the federal government before making important decisions
like how much to charge customers. The railroad companies were outraged and used the defense
that their monopolies were almost automatically formed, but there was nothing they could do since
the law was federal. (Moritz 19 24, 28) Telegraph grids were another technological advancement of
the Gilded Age. For the first time in history, transcontinental communication was possible. People
could now find out about news from across the nation within minutes of it happening, instead of
days as it sometimes took before. Businesses took advantage of this by building plants and factories
all across the country, hiring managers for each individual outfit, and communicating among each
location with ease. (Sinclair 75) Telegraph lines were also a nurturing point for one of the most
famous business tycoons of the Gilded Age, Andrew Carnegie. (Carnegie 653) Carnegie not only
got his start as a young Irish immigrant working as a railroad telegraph operator, his first major
corporation was the Keystone Telegraph Company, in which he acquired the Pacific and Atlantic
Telegraph Company. Carnegie thought of giving up on business after having moderate success, but

The Importance Of Learning Experience
The nursing profession encourages lifelong update learning (NMC, 2010), and student nurses, as
adult learners and aspiring professionals, need to start developing themselves within the culture of
lifelong learning in the workplace and take responsibility for their learning (Hinchliff, 2004). This is
possible with effective communication in sharing appropriate experience, skills, and knowledge to
facilitate best practice and enhance learningopportunities (NMC, 2008).
The purpose of this essay is to analyse a specific episode of learning event that I have been
involved in practice setting which my mentor was the teacher. I will explore teaching style and
learning theories related to this experience. In addition, an action plan will be formulated and
presented in appendices to explore on how the learning event will impact on the registrant and
highlight key development areas to overcome. The learning experience that I will be looking at in
this essay is the safe administration of intramuscular depot injections taught by my mentor. Nursing
and Midwifery council (2009) considered administering intramuscular injection as an essential
component of nursing training for pre registration student nurses. Therefore, confidently learning
how to administer this form of injection is important for promoting safety and the quality of care
delivered to the public (NMC,2015). It is the role of the mentor to facilitate student learning in
achieving this essential skill required for registration (Ness et al, 2010).
Learning is defined by Howard (2009) as any event that brings about a relatively permanent change
in behaviour, resulting from either experience or practice. Knowles (2005, 2011) also sees learning
as a structured, premeditated means of trying ideas which are relevant to problems or challenges.
It is important that teacher established student preferred learning style prior to teaching event in
order to promote effective learning (Pritchad, 2013). West et al (2007) state that learning style
preferences influence how a learner understands and interprets teaching experience. Mentor need to
know that students have diverse types of learning styles as not all students learn in the same way,
therefore, understanding

Gallipoli Movie Review Essay
The film Gallipoli takes place during World War I s Gallipoli campaign in 1915. The two main
characters in the film are Archy and Frank. Archy and Frank are from Western Australia and they
both enlist to fight in Gallipoli. Archy is an extremely fast runner who meets Frank at an athletics
competition. We can see from the beginning that Archy is eager to join the war. After being turned
down because he was underage, he goes to Perth, anxious for someone to accept him into the light
horsemen. Frank, however, is skeptical about Australians wanting to join the war. He tells Archy
that it s not our war to fight . Despite this statement, Frank eventually joins up into the Infantry.

Archy and Frank stick together through all of the war training exercises in Egypt and they fight
together on the front at Gallipoli.
Another element of mate ship is shown in the last part of the film. When the final battle of
Gallipoli approaches, Archy persuades Major Barton to assign Frank as his runner because Archy
knows that Frank does not have as much commitment as he does on the fighting service. Archy
gets Frank a safer position and decided to sacrifice his own life for his best mate. (Gammage)
Some more ideals that are glorified in the film are bravery and honor. The experiences at Gallipoli
gave Australians a new identity which made them distinguishable from any other nation. At the
start of the film we see that almost everyone wants to enlist in the war. Although many Australian
men enlist totally naive to the dangers awaiting them, once they are in Gallipoli they fight
fearlessly, with the attitude that they are doing it for their country. Anyone who is studying
Australian history would do well to watch this film. The film is historically accurate which means
that students can use it as a direct source of information and evidence. The fact that the film is
portrayed as a dramatized story makes the many aspects of Australia and its participation of World
War I much easier to understand than a any text book would. (Broadbent)
The film creates a feeling of empathy which

the nasal cavity and makes its way to the olfactory receptors. These olfactory receptors are located
in the olfactory epithelium and contain many bipolar neurons. These receptors send processes to
the epithelium where it divides into 10 to 20 cilia. Molecules of odor then must dissolve in the
mucus and stimulate the receptors in the cilia, which detect aromatic molecules. Next, each
olfactory receptor cell sends an axon into the olfactory bulb, which is located at the end of the
olfactory tract. Here, it forms synapse with dendrites of mitral cells (neurons of olfactory bulb),
which takes place in the dendritic and axonal aborizations, called the olfactory glomeruli. From
there, the axons travel to the rest of the brain, some terminating in the ipsilateral forebrain and
contralateral olfactory bulb.
Furthermore, the axons of the olfactory tract project to either the amygdala, piriform cortex (region
of limbic cortex) and the entorhinal cortex (region of the limbic cortex). From the amygdala,
information then is sent to the hypothalamus. The entorhinal cortex sends its information to the
hippocampus. The piriform cortex takes its information to the hypothalamus and orbitofrontal cortex

Reproductive Rights
Introduction
There is a time bomb that is ready to go off, possibly within our lifetime; this device is constructed
not by terrorist but by an ever increasing world population. In an effort to combat its own
population problem, China has promoted policies with the intent of slowing down the growth rate
of that nation s approximately 1.3 billion people. The population policies that are be ing adopted
raise fundamental issues concerning human rights. Does a government have the right to place
limits on the size of the family through official policies? The answer to that question is No! The

China s official policy concerning the size of the family by its mere existence is a viola tion of

I have seen firsthand the effects of China s, One Child policy. I was in China over the summer of
2015 attending a summer camp sponsored by the Confucius Institute at CCD on the campus of The
University of Jinan. I encountered with a lot of students my age and I noticed that the majority of
them are an only child with an exception of one who had two other siblings; meaning that the
family had to pay the government for two extra children. The students and I were talking about our
families and I mentioned that I have three other siblings and their reaction was that of shock due to

My Mother In My Life
I can still remember her cooking food on a red hot range top; her hand sitting gently on her hip
as she stirred the boiling macaroni with a wooden spoon. Her long hair was curled behind her
ears on either side. It shone brightly from the sunlight coming in the open kitchen window; and
the cool summer breeze flowed over her like a butterfly. My mom always looked so beautiful
and happy, even when doing the dullest of tasks. Most of the things I can recollect from my
childhood are about my mom: moments I spent with her, places we went, and things we talked
about. Being an only child, my life revolved around her. She was my best friend and was always
there for me when I needed her; she still is. She is one of the few people who are incredibly
important in my life.My mom is the person I credit for inspiring me and raising me to be the
person I amtoday. She taught me how to love, be non judgmental, and be kind. I can remember a
few instances when someone had betrayed her, or was rude to her, and she just smiled and
brushed it off. She always told me that there s no reason to hold a grudge against someone. Being
upset over someone is not worth your time and energy. So, she would just continue on with her
life, being as grateful to be alive as ever. Another thing she taught me was responsibility, probably
the hard way. One afternoon after I returned home from school, I greeted her as I always had, and
scurried into the office room to try and complete a

Heathrow Terminal 5 Risk Management Essay
Introduction
Work on the London Heathrow terminal 5(T5) began in 2002 after a 4 year public enquiry. It took
six years to build at a cost of ВЈ4.3bn. The facility, situated on a 251hectar site had 6000 people
working on site at any one time (Health and Safety Executive, 2005). It boasts of 30,000 square
meters of glass walls, has 60 new aircraft stands and includes 13km of tunnels which were bored for
baggage handling and rail links (BBC, 2007a).
This report will be evaluating the project risk management in the construction of T5 airport. It will
start with a brief background on Heathrow terminal 5. The report will then take a critical look at
some of the British Airport Authority s (BAA) method of risk allocation and identification. It...

In getting all parties involved to work as part of an integrated team, the risk identification process
would have involved a larger number of people and increased the identified sources of risk for the
project. This fundamental relationship between project parties played a huge role in the success of
the project with regards to time and cost. (Davies et al, 2009)
Another area that BAA also identified as a major source of risk going into the project was the
Information Technology (IT) systems that would go into T5. The head of systems for BAA, Nick
Gaines stressed that the IT systems represented the largest risk to the entire project ( Illet,
2006).This is further supported by the fact that T5 underwent 6 months of testing prior to it s
opening, most of which was to do with its IT systems integration including the baggage system
(BBC, 2007b)
Risk allocation
As mentioned in the introduction, allocating risk in financial terms to different parties is
encouraged as good practice.BAA however took on an entirely different approach to their
allocation of risk by choosing to take on all the risk. They went against the normal convention of
contractual agreements which are normally reactive in their nature and mostly end up with a focus
on each party involved claiming against the other for any extra

Making The Best Of The Worst Situation Poem Analysis
There is an Italian proverb that states, Since the house is on fire, let us warm ourselves. People
might chuckle when they hear that the first time, but what it actually means is try to make the best
of the worst situation. This is very important for people to remember in society today, especially
since many people go through rough times and just mourn over their situation instead of staying
positive. Also some people don t recognize how grateful they should be for the things they have.
This proverb can be seen in Martin Luther King, Jr., Helen Keller, the recovery and volunteers who
contributed in the Joplin tornado, and even in a poem by Tirzah Conway, called Making the Best
of a Bad Situation. One man who made the best of a bad situation was Martin Luther King, Jr.

day. Another line in this poem is, I was having me a terrible day, Everyone grumbling at work;
No one had nothing nice to say, And my boss was being quite a jerk (Conway). This quote shows
that people can be rude for no apparent reason. Also people could tell this lady is having a pretty
bad day. The next line says, I figured that was the best way, For me to get back at them; By
wishing them a happy day, And not being hasty to condemn (Conway). This quote shows even
though this person was having a bad day at work with her grumpy co workers she continued to be
positive. This poem makes the best of a bad situation because this person stayed positive through

What Was The Impact Of The Bus Boycott
The Bus Boycott of 1955 1956 was a U.S Civil Rights movement that took place in Montgomery,
Alabama. African Americans all over Montgomery refused to ride the city bus to demonstrate a
peaceful protest against racial segregation. Four days before the protest, an African American
women, Rosa Park, refused to leave her seat on the busfor a white man. This led to her arrest and
finement; this triggered the boycott to begin. This event was one of the many Civil Rights
movement. This caused many important figures to become involved, such as Martin Luther King

The main objective and goals for the black to accomplish from the protest are to receive well and
respected treatment by the bus operators and its riders. Also, that riders are free to sit as
anywhere as they like on a first come, first served standard. They wanted the blacks to be able to
be seated from the back toward the front of the bus and vise versa for the whites. Finally, they
demanded that Negro bus operators were employed on mainly Negro routes. Throughout the
protest, their main focus shifted to abolishing segregation altogether. King made this pretty clear
during his speech he once gave called I Have A Dream. during 1963. one day right there in
Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and
white girls as sisters and brothers. (King). Throughout this process, the blacks did face a lot of
negative effects. Many African Americans boycotters and riders were shot throughout this event.
Many were found dead in mainly dark areas and alleys of the city. Violence went on with bombing
and murder. African Americanchurches were bombed as a threat towards Black boycotters. Ralph

The scandal surrounding President Richard Nixon, and a break in at the Democratic National
Headquarters. The story began of May of 1972, when a group of people on Nixon s reelection
committee broke into the headquarters and installed wire tapes, microphones, and stole copies
of secret documents. However, the microphones and wiretaps did not work, so on June 17, a
group of five men broke into the headquarters to install new ones. The men were caught and
arrested, but the mystery was why they did this. Eventually, it was clear that Nixon was closely
related to these burglars, and the judge of their trial, along with others, decided to do some more
investigation. It was revealed that Nixon had secret tapes of every conversation in the oval
office, and although he tried to resist, he was eventually ordered by the Supreme Court to give
them up. Richard Nixon resigned on August 5, 1974, after he was impeached by the House of
Representatives on July 27, 1974. The reason this relates to Spotlight, is because most of the
investigative work was done by two journalists from the Washington Post, Bob Woodward and
Carl Bernstein. Without them and their brilliant investigative work, the connections between the
robbers and the White House would not have been made. They even won a Pulitzer Prize for
their story on Watergate, because of its massive impact. Their effort and method of investigating
has become a model for all other investigative journalists to follow in order to show the world the
truth. The Spotlight team s work was very similar to that of Woodward and Bernstein s, and won a

Crop Yield And Juice Quality
4.1 Crop yield and juice quality
Soil sickness of sugarcane monoculture, expressed as a reduction of cane yield, stalk diameter and
biomass when sugarcane is cultivated on the same soil sequentially, is one of the foremost
problems in sugarcane production, particularly in field conditions (Li et al. 2015; Li and Yang,
2015). Sugarcane is an important crop in Guangxi, China, but due to its long duration annual
economic returns tend to be lower than some other crops. Intercropping of short duration crops with
sugarcane could increase benefits. Our result showed that lower sugarcane yield under monoculture
system in both the locations, but intercropping systems had minor enhancement although it is not
statistically significant. Moreover, sugarcane with soybean intercropping had higher productivity
than monoculture and sugarcane with peanut. These results indicated that intercropping sugarcane
with soybean was beneficial for sugarcane yield and soil sickness relieving. The same yield
promoting effect had also been observed in sugarcane potato (Singh et al. 2010), soybean
sugarcane intercropping (Yang et al. 2013) and sugarcane cassava intercropping (Li et al. 2015).
Thereafter, quality of cane juice was also showed no significant effect with intercropping and these
results also correlated with previous research on sugarcane intercropping (Yang et al. 2013).
However, intercrops selection should carefully consider the excessive risk of inter specific

Computer Hacking Is The Scale Of The Problem Essay
Computer hacking has been becoming more and more of a threat in recent years and is being
brought to the public eye more often. Large and small corporations alike, as well as individuals
are at risk of losing personal information to hackers, opening up doors to cyber attacks and theft.
Statistics show that half of American adults have been hacked this year alone (Pagliery). Security
experts and law enforcement say that hackers are actively scanning merchants networks for ways to
gain remote access to their systems. The Department of homeland Security and Secret service
recently, estimated that more than 1,000 businesses in the United States had been infected with
malware programmed to siphon payment card details from cash registers. It is believed that many
of these companies had no idea they were breached and sharing the information of thousands of
customer s credit cardinformation. A main reason for concern with cybercrime is the scale of the
problem. If it were a series of on off events people might be less concerned with it however, it is an
ongoing problem.
Just a few days ago for example, hackers broke into the debit and credit card payment networks
of two of the nation s most popular food chains: Albertson s and SuperValu. Impacted by this
breach are all of the stores related to these chains including: Acme, Jewel Osco, Shaw s, and Star
Markets, as well as Cub Foods, Hornbacher s, Shop N Save, and Shoppers Food and Pharmacy

What Does The Flowers Symbolize In The Goblin Market
In The Goblin Market by Christina Rossetti, sisters Laura and Lizzie hear the sounds of the
goblin fruit market and try to ignore the enticing calls of the goblin men it at first. However, Laura

Lizzie s warning not too. Once she gets there the goblinmen off her their fruit, but she does not

exchange for the goblin fruit. After eating the fruit, however, Laura starts to waste away. Lizzie
gets worried about her sister and decides to go to the market and see what has caused her sister
to wither away. When she gets there the goblin men try to tempt her the way they did Laura, but
Lizzie does not allow it. The goblin men turn violent towards her and stuffs fruit in her mouth, but
she refuses to open her mouth; therefore, they get juice all over her. Lizzie returns home covered
in juice and allows Laura to kiss the juice off her cheeks. Though the sisterly love Lizzie shows

The Importance Of Ring Fencing And Loss Absorbency
To establish a more effective and competitive UK banking system, the 2011 report of the
Independent Commission on Banking (ICB) has come up with different recommendations, the
ICB was chaired by Sir John Vickers, this is why the report is also called the Vickers Report .
These recommendations are mainly based on strengthening the stability of the banking system
by a combination of measures on the structure and the ability to absorb losses of the banks. It is
suggested that some degree of structural separation between investment banking and retail
banking is necessary, not only because it can resolve banks in trouble easier, but also avoiding
the banking services affecting by international shocks which is beyond the control of the local
authorities. On the other hand, banks with a greater loss absorbing capacity will definitely be
helpful in strengthening the stability of the banking system. This paper will be focusing on the
proposals for ring fencing and loss absorbency, explaining what these proposals are about and
how can they make changes to the banking system. Then by comparing the differences of ring
fencing from other structural reform, and realizing the effect of the loss absorbency on the
banking system, analysis from different views will be made for drawing up a conclusion on
whether these proposals can successfully achieve the ultimate goal, which is creating a legal and
more stable basis for UK banking in a long term. The general idea of the proposal

Value Of America
Values of America
Jennifer Song

July 17, 2015 Values of America
Many things influence the values a person holds. Culture, religion, government, and people
influence it. Values are important and lasting beliefs or ideals shared by the members of a culture
about what I good or bad and desirable or undesirable (What are Values). America has many values,
but three most popular ones are family, freedom, and equality. They are the three most common
things a person can hear about and talk about. America was founded on these three values.
America s value of family comes from the American dream. American s are fiercely loyal to their
family and close friends. American s believe that family takes care of family and they believe
parents are supposed to raise, educate, protect, and guide their children into being proper adults.
In the textbook it says, family members often go out of their way to make personal sacrifices so
others will be happy and successful (Vissing 6). This quote represents what American s believe
family members should do for each other. Family is taught from an early age by parents. It is
something that each generation passes down to the next generation. Violence towards family
member is not only looked down upon, it has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Declaration of Independence was written so we could cut ties with the British and be a free
independent nation. It was written to give American citizens their right to be free and express their
opinions and thoughts. America is known as the land of opportunities because America doesn t
discriminate and judge. America welcomes anyone who decides to immigrate over to pursue the
American dream. Americans do not believe that anyone has any special advantages of
disadvantages. They believe hard work, dedication, and time are the only three things needed to

Liberation Theology Essay
Introduction According to Enns (2008), liberation theology attempts to infer the holy writ through
the plight of the poor. This movement originated from South America in the early 1950s when
Marxism was the most popular theory among the poor. It was a response to the ill treatment and
poverty facing the ordinary people. It dealt with the issue of distribution of wealth among people in
order to upgrade the economic status in life. This movement had strong Romanian Catholic roots
bolstered in Colombia in 1968 at a conference where, the bishops proposed a merger between the
Karl Marx teachings with those of Jesus Christ. Liberation theology support was immense but
various critiques across the religious framework (Novak, 1991). This movement... Show more

However, emergence of negative results due to black liberation was evident. This is because the
theory tends to separate the black and white Christian communities thus enhancing racism which is
not religious or biblical. By critically analysing the biblical way of life, a level of unity among the
people who share the same doctrine of Christ is expected. Black Liberation Theology initially
intended to assist the black community, but in reality it ended up hurting the more. It promoted
negative values for instance: racial tension, victimization, and Marxism ultimately leading to more
oppression. Latin American Liberation Theology The liberation theory originally developed from
ideologies and activities instigated by the Catholic missionaries in the colonial Latin America.
Latin American Liberation Theology says that there is oppression and exploitation of poor people
by the rich capitalist nations. The Latin people developed the theology by radical interpretation of
the bible biased to the people. The inclusion of armed pastors was one of the characteristics that
brought this movement in the limelight. This yearning for change got spurred by armed revolution.
This is why; so many churches had people carrying guns and other weapons to shoe how they were
fighting for their liberation. Critique of the Latin American Liberation Theology Latin American
Liberation Theology is one of the theologies that had a lot of impact on the

Eastern Europe Essay
Eastern Europe s geography allowed and encouraged many diverse people to easily conquer its
land. The history of Eastern Europe has been marked by migration, foreign conquest, war and
revolution. The region is home to a mix of diverse people who have often battled with each other
and many foreigners
As a buffer and crossroads, Eastern Europe reaches from Central Europe to Russia. Also, it reaches
from the Baltic Sea and through the Balkan Peninsula. Much of the region lies on the European
plain . Its main rivers, the Danube and the Vistula allowed goods and cultural influences to travel
along river routes. This led to the Balkans in the south feeling the impact of the Byzantine empire
and the Muslim Ottoman empire. Because of the ease of its accessibility, Eastern Europe was the
perfect target for neighboring groups of people, whether they were peaceful or looking to take over.

Prince Boleslaw of Cracow issued a charter to protect the liberties of Jews. In response, Jewish
villages were common in Poland. Religious influences and people were spreading at a rapid rate.
This caused many kingdoms to develop that would battle for power in the near future. Roman
Catholic missionaries converted many West Slavs in Poland in the 900s. The first Polish king
was crowned, but to survive, Poland frequently had to battle Germans, Russians, and Mongols.
Queen Jadwiga and Duke Wladyslaw Jagiello of Lithuania s marriage began Poland s greatest
age. However, political power in Poland shifted to the nobles because of liberum veto or free
veto in which the vote of a single nobel could block the passage of a law. Because of their lack of
a strong central government, Poland lithuania declined. Because Poland did not take strong stand
against invaders they declined after a short lived

The View Of Toledo By El Greco
The View of Toledo by El Greco reflects Nick s perspective on the contrasting qualities of the East
and West Egg. When describing the East, he seems in awe, using adjectives with strongly positive
connotations the East excited me the most... I was most keenly aware of its superiority to the
...towns beyond the Ohio (Fitzgerald 167). After the First World War, Nick and his Lost Generation
returned feeling restless and seeking for change. With the excitement and energy the Roaring 20 s
brought to New York, Nick and many other young members were attracted to the vivacious city.
The grandiose expeditions of these young Americans and their determination for materialistic
success creates a gap in the socio economic society, between those who lived

A Spirited Away
Exemplar: Spirited Away Spirited Away is the story of a young hero named Chihiro. When
making the journey to her new home, a detour into a sketchy amusement park sends Chihiro
away from her world and into the spirit world. Our hero is suddenly faced with a dilemma; her
parents are pigs (both literally and metaphorically), and the tunnel connecting the human world
and the spirit world has been blocked. In order to return to her world safely alongside her parents,
Chihiro must survive in the spirit world and play by its rules. Our hero faces great challenges and
trials, like... getting a job? And... confronting your boss? How about remembering to eat so that
you don t disappear?... The spirit world is oddly similar to reality huh. Anyways,... Show more

In the end, we see the results of Chihiro s growth as a character as she faces the Witch Yubaba in
the final confrontation. She not only completes her initial quest, but also finishes the side quest,
allowing her to become a much more mature individual as compared to her state of being at the
beginning of the film. Spirited Awaydraws upon many mythic themes, and the ones that I will be
talking about are Symbolism and Sacred Spaces. One of the symbols that we are first introduced
to in Spirited Away is water. When our hero starts to transition into the world of spirits,
something happens off screen. Water suddenly blocks the tunnel that connects the human world
and the spirit world. Water also appears to magically surround the perimeter of the bathhouse at
its base. Water is also used in the bathhouse to rejuvenate and cleanse spirits that enter. And
finally, water comes up again when we see a flashback of what seems to be Chihiro drowning in
a river. So what s up with water? Well, throughout the film, water is used to symbolize freedom
and captivity. It serves as a literal object that blocks Chihiro s path back to the human world, and
also limits movement around the spirit world (we see that Chihiro has to utilize a train system in
order to move around the spirit world freely). However, water isn t all that bad. In the scene where
Chihiro is faced with the responsibility to clean the stink spirit, inordinate amounts of

Role Of Accountability And Control System VI.Accountability and Control System, How to Control the Policy Implementation that may Occur Hazards and also Accountability in the Process of Policy Implementation Best efforts to overcome forest and land fire through preventing before it occurs, minimizing the impact, and minimizing forest and land fire extension area. According to Ministry for National and Development Planning, there are three things that need to be done first to prevent forest fires and land. First, reviewing the business permits that have been issued by the Government for forestry and plantation; second enforcing on business compliance with regulations and policies related to efforts to control land and forest fire; and third the need for an early warning system (EWS) in the prevention and control of forest and land fire. Early Warning System (EWS) on prevention and control of forest and land fire is a system that contains information about the potential or predictions related to land and forest fires in one location at a certain time. This system has been developed by various agencies with a variety of methods. But the most important thing and should be encouraged is the implementation of the use of such information at the site level by local governments and communities. Each of ministry and agency independently has made efforts to control forest and land fires in accordance with the duties and functions as ministry or technical institutions. Still according to the Ministry for National ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. My Native Costume By Gentileschi Once, there was a woman who claimed that her identity is like the spirit of Caesar. She was raped when she was nineteen, and public condemned her of losing her virtue, even though virtue is not a woman s consumable good that can be achieved by purity or lost by accident. This reaction is similar to that of school teacher in the poem of MartГn Espada, My Native Costume. In the poem, the teacher asks the writer to wear traditional costume for the students even though the writer defines himself as a lawyer. She is full of prejudice that Puerto Rican people will always wear traditional clothes, but she rather thinks that she is doing a good job for her students while saying the children want to see a native costume (Espada). Judith Slaying Holofernes is one of her masterpieces that has been acknowledged as a proper piece to understand the main characteristics of her painting style. Carol Strickland, an American art historian, explains that this painting shows how Gentileschi depicted her subject into the style of Caravaggio, who was her father s teacher and famous for dramatic lightning (Strickland, 47). Based on these facts, some critics conjecture that Gentileschi may just have borrowed the dramatic story from the Book of Judith to express her technique that resembled that of Caravaggio. They argue that it is unreasonable and too subjective to relate Judith Slaying Holofernes with the identity of Gentileschi. Identity of Gentileschi, however, cannot be separated with the story of Judith and the painting Judith Slaying Holofernes because Gentileschi s identity severely resembles that of Judith. Their struggle, success leaded by their capacity, and destruction of the gender stereotypes are main common aspects that Judith and Gentileschi share. These qualities further prove how Artemisia Gentileschi was an ideal feminist who asserted her freedom inside an unfair ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Sexism In Society Sexism, racism, and violence have been a part of the world since the beginning of time. Everyday, it is clear that issues such as these continue to play a role in the lives of many people. Our society has moved forward in the direction towards ending racism, sexism, and violence, but these changes still do not meet the standard of decency. Despite the modern movement for women s rights being implemented into today s society, as well as efforts to eliminate racism and violent language, humanity needs to become more progressive in order to create a truly equal society. Violence in language gives the general public the image that violence is tolerable, while also promoting brutality. Language guidelines from the North York Women Teacher s Association alter violent phrases such as, get away with murder into its alternative, avoid consequences. Violence has made its way into modern language where the majority of people do not necessarily try to stop it. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sexism in modern life is men receiving a higher salary than women for just being men. The idea that women cannot be strong while being independent is absurd. Society uses harsh language towards women as if the negativity in the words have a neutral tone and meaning, when in fact they represent the very reason why women are still viewed as weaker and dependent upon men. Sexism will not cease to exist unless the degrading of women stops. According to Kakutani s The Word Police, the 1991 edition of the Random House Webster s Dictionary includes linguistic mutations to avoid sexism, such as the change from women to womyn, and waiter or waitress to waitron. This shows how some communities have accepted that both genders should be equally treated and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Daycare Fretting over the best way to mind your little one when you are away at work is commonplace for most working moms. Choosing the right child care and ensuring your child is in safe hands is in no doubt a hard nut to crack; and once a right choice is made, mothers are liable to be more relaxed and confident at work. The family system in Nigeria gives room to having family members around to help with childcare. It is the norm to always have grannies (paternal and maternal), aunties, and even nieces at hand to assist in taking care of your little one but in a situation where this isn t possible, getting the right childcare is unavoidable. When thinking about childcare the very first question that comes to mind is Nanny or Daycare? Any of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With your child at a daycare, rushing to make pickups and drop offs to and fro work can really be time consuming and tiring. A day careoption also means you have to run a rigid work schedule in compliance with the operational hours of the crГЁche where your child is enrolled (no after hours or impromptu babysitting). In choosing a daycare option for your child s care, it s important that you lookout for only registered day care centres that meet government standards and policies. To also ease the burden, it s advised that your selected crГЁche should be within the proximity of your office location. By this, drop offs and pickups are easier and you can also make unannounced visits to the centre for periodic checks. Giving a child one on one attention in early childhood is important but early interaction with other kids is also very needful and should not be overlooked. An only child or firstborn that had personalized nanny care is more likely to have a bit of difficulty interacting with other kids or adjusting to the outside world (my daughter is a classic example due to the nature of my job at her time of birth, she enjoyed dedicated nanny care till she was 20 months old, and thus became very fussy around other people. Dan is my hero because not only is he standing up for a community, but he doesn t have to do anything about the problems in the community if he doesn t feel like doing it. Now, your opinion may be different from mine, and you may not think that Dan could be described as unprejudiced. • 9. King Lear Adaptations I think that the National Theater s King Lear was the more effective play. This is for two reasons, because it was had more hidden details and had better acting. These two features made the play easier to watch and more entertaining. First off, the National Theater s play had more hidden details that gave the viewers subtle clues as to the setting and characters, a great example of showing instead of telling which made the play much more interesting. An example of this was the microphone for Cordelia and her future husband was pointed to his side, even though Cordelia was there alone. This shows the lack of respect that women were given, King Lear was symbolically giving away land to a non existent husband over his blood borne daughter. This reveals how little he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The National Theater s King Lear had other intricacies such as King Lear hitting Reagan s rear shows that his love might be one of an inappropriate nature and reveals some of his character traits. Secondly, in the National Theater s adaptation of King Lear, I felt the actors and actresses had better acting. King Lear was shown as being crazier and more short tempered which makes his descent into madness later on more believable. It also shows that he is prone to overreacting as he flips over tables when he feels unsatisfied, this leads the viewer to see why it made sense in his mind to banish Cordelia. In Olivier s play, King Lear is shown as much more level headed which makes it out of character for him to banish Cordelia and even hold the contest in the first place. As well, in the National Theater s King Lear the sisters Goneril and Reagan were portrayed more realistically. Goneril delivered her speech with a hint of nervousness, which would be likely given her father s unpredictableness and how important this was. She had to hope that her

Make sure the membrane is tight over the mouth of the funnel and it should not leak. The membrane should not be allowed to get dry during this experiment. Then you need to add one drop of food colouring to your sugar solution and by doing this it will make it easier to identify the solution in the tube of the thistle funnel. Then you have to suspend the funnel in the beaker with the mouth of the funnel about 2cm off the bottom of the beaker. Once done this, you will pour distilled water into the beaker until the water level is 1cm above the lower rim of the funnel. When you are making the control, you use a dropper to fill the funnel with coloured distilled water to the first mark which is the lowest point. When you are making the experiments, you use a dropper to fill the funnel to just below the first mark with the sugar solution and remember the volume used. You need to watch the movement of the solution and when it reaches the first mark, make a note of the time because this will be the starting point. The funnel will be marked at 1mm intervals so allow the solution to rise to exactly 10 mm and make a note of this time. You can incorporate your outputs into this document; however, you must identify where in your source code you print the results required in deliverable 1 above. This algorithm calculates the shortest path using the bottom up approach. The Bellman Ford algorithm using a relaxation formula and calculates the path between each edge and iterates for V 1 times using this formula to finally calculate the shortest path. We are assuming that there are no negative weight cycle in the network. It starts by calculating the shortest path between one node at first, then it checks for the path between two nodes, and so on proceeds in each iteration. I have put the outer loop as V 1, where V is the total number of vertices that is present in the network. In our case, V=6. Therefore, there must be V 1, which is 5 iterations to obtain the optimal shortest path to each of the node from the source node. The below shown highlighted screenshot is the comparison relaxation formula used to check at each edge. If we iterate through all the edges one more time, and still get the shortest path, this means that there is a negative weight cycle in the network. Hence, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. Essay about Big Business In The Gilded Age The late 19th century and early 20th century, dubbed the Gilded Age by writer Mark Twain, was a time of great growth and change in every aspect of the United States, and even more so for big business. It was this age that gave birth to many of the important modern business practices we take for granted today, and those in charge of business at the time were considered revolutionaries, whether it was for the good of the people or the good of themselves. The exact period of time in which the Gilded Ageoccurred is ever debatable, but most historians can at least agree that it started within the 20 years after the Civil War ended and lasted until the early 1920s. • 19. The Importance Of Learning Experience The nursing profession encourages lifelong update learning (NMC, 2010), and student nurses, as adult learners and aspiring professionals, need to start developing themselves within the culture of lifelong learning in the workplace and take responsibility for their learning (Hinchliff, 2004). This is possible with effective communication in sharing appropriate experience, skills, and knowledge to facilitate best practice and enhance learningopportunities (NMC, 2008). The purpose of this essay is to analyse a specific episode of learning event that I have been involved in practice setting which my mentor was the teacher. I will explore teaching style and learning theories related to this experience. In addition, an action plan will be formulated and presented in appendices to explore on how the learning event will impact on the registrant and highlight key development areas to overcome. The learning experience that I will be looking at in this essay is the safe administration of intramuscular depot injections taught by my mentor. Nursing and Midwifery council (2009) considered administering intramuscular injection as an essential component of nursing training for pre registration student nurses. Therefore, confidently learning how to administer this form of injection is important for promoting safety and the quality of care delivered to the public (NMC,2015). It is the role of the mentor to facilitate student learning in achieving this essential skill required for registration (Ness et al, 2010). Learning is defined by Howard (2009) as any event that brings about a relatively permanent change in behaviour, resulting from either experience or practice. Knowles (2005, 2011) also sees learning as a structured, premeditated means of trying ideas which are relevant to problems or challenges. It is important that teacher established student preferred learning style prior to teaching event in order to promote effective learning (Pritchad, 2013). West et al (2007) state that learning style preferences influence how a learner understands and interprets teaching experience. Sir Charles Sherrington stated that the alpha motor neuron (which is also referred to as the lower motor neuron) is the final common pathway. As psychologists, this notion of the final common pathway being comprised of lower motor neuron axons is very important to us. Considering the above information, why would Sherrington and everyone since refer to the alpha motor neuron as the final common pathway? Incorporate neuroanatomical information about motor systems to support your explanation. The alpha motor... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On top of the nasal cavity, lies the olfactory epithelium (mucous tissue that covers the cribriform plate and contains the cilia necessary for olfactory receptors). The process starts when air enters the nasal cavity and makes its way to the olfactory receptors. These olfactory receptors are located in the olfactory epithelium and contain many bipolar neurons. These receptors send processes to the epithelium where it divides into 10 to 20 cilia. Molecules of odor then must dissolve in the mucus and stimulate the receptors in the cilia, which detect aromatic molecules. Next, each olfactory receptor cell sends an axon into the olfactory bulb, which is located at the end of the olfactory tract. Here, it forms synapse with dendrites of mitral cells (neurons of olfactory bulb), which takes place in the dendritic and axonal aborizations, called the olfactory glomeruli. From there, the axons travel to the rest of the brain, some terminating in the ipsilateral forebrain and contralateral olfactory bulb. Furthermore, the axons of the olfactory tract project to either the amygdala, piriform cortex (region of limbic cortex) and the entorhinal cortex (region of the limbic cortex). From the amygdala, information then is sent to the hypothalamus. The entorhinal cortex sends its information to the hippocampus. My mom always looked so beautiful and happy, even when doing the dullest of tasks. Most of the things I can recollect from my childhood are about my mom: moments I spent with her, places we went, and things we talked about. She is one of the few people who are incredibly important in my life.My mom is the person I credit for inspiring me and raising me to be the person I amtoday. She taught me how to love, be non judgmental, and be kind. I can remember a few instances when someone had betrayed her, or was rude to her, and she just smiled and brushed it off. She always told me that there s no reason to hold a grudge against someone. Being upset over someone is not worth your time and energy. So, she would just continue on with her life, being as grateful to be alive as ever. Another thing she taught me was responsibility, probably the hard way. This fundamental relationship between project parties played a huge role in the success of the project with regards to time and cost. (Davies et al, 2009) Another area that BAA also identified as a major source of risk going into the project was the Information Technology (IT) systems that would go into T5. The head of systems for BAA, Nick Gaines stressed that the IT systems represented the largest risk to the entire project ( Illet, 2006).This is further supported by the fact that T5 underwent 6 months of testing prior to it s opening, most of which was to do with its IT systems integration including the baggage system (BBC, 2007b) Risk allocation As mentioned in the introduction, allocating risk in financial terms to different parties is encouraged as good practice.BAA however took on an entirely different approach to their allocation of risk by choosing to take on all the risk. People might chuckle when they hear that the first time, but what it actually means is try to make the best of the worst situation. This is very important for people to remember in society today, especially since many people go through rough times and just mourn over their situation instead of staying positive. Also some people don t recognize how grateful they should be for the things they have. This proverb can be seen in Martin Luther King, Jr., Helen Keller, the recovery and volunteers who contributed in the Joplin tornado, and even in a poem by Tirzah Conway, called Making the Best of a Bad Situation. However, the microphones and wiretaps did not work, so on June 17, a group of five men broke into the headquarters to install new ones. The men were caught and arrested, but the mystery was why they did this. Eventually, it was clear that Nixon was closely related to these burglars, and the judge of their trial, along with others, decided to do some more investigation. It was revealed that Nixon had secret tapes of every conversation in the oval office, and although he tried to resist, he was eventually ordered by the Supreme Court to give them up. Richard Nixon resigned on August 5, 1974, after he was impeached by the House of Representatives on July 27, 1974. Large and small corporations alike, as well as individuals are at risk of losing personal information to hackers, opening up doors to cyber attacks and theft. Statistics show that half of American adults have been hacked this year alone (Pagliery). Security experts and law enforcement say that hackers are actively scanning merchants networks for ways to gain remote access to their systems. The Department of homeland Security and Secret service recently, estimated that more than 1,000 businesses in the United States had been infected with malware programmed to siphon payment card details from cash registers. The Importance Of Ring Fencing And Loss Absorbency To establish a more effective and competitive UK banking system, the 2011 report of the Independent Commission on Banking (ICB) has come up with different recommendations, the ICB was chaired by Sir John Vickers, this is why the report is also called the Vickers Report . These recommendations are mainly based on strengthening the stability of the banking system by a combination of measures on the structure and the ability to absorb losses of the banks. It is suggested that some degree of structural separation between investment banking and retail banking is necessary, not only because it can resolve banks in trouble easier, but also avoiding the banking services affecting by international shocks which is beyond the control of the local authorities. On the other hand, banks with a greater loss absorbing capacity will definitely be helpful in strengthening the stability of the banking system. This paper will be focusing on the proposals for ring fencing and loss absorbency, explaining what these proposals are about and how can they make changes to the banking system. Then by comparing the differences of ring fencing from other structural reform, and realizing the effect of the loss absorbency on the banking system, analysis from different views will be made for drawing up a conclusion on whether these proposals can successfully achieve the ultimate goal, which is creating a legal and more stable basis for UK banking in a long term. • 44. Liberation Theology Essay Introduction According to Enns (2008), liberation theology attempts to infer the holy writ through the plight of the poor. This movement originated from South America in the early 1950s when Marxism was the most popular theory among the poor. It was a response to the ill treatment and poverty facing the ordinary people. It dealt with the issue of distribution of wealth among people in order to upgrade the economic status in life. This movement had strong Romanian Catholic roots bolstered in Colombia in 1968 at a conference where, the bishops proposed a merger between the Karl Marx teachings with those of Jesus Christ. Liberation theology support was immense but various critiques across the religious framework (Novak, 1991). This movement... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, emergence of negative results due to black liberation was evident. This is because the theory tends to separate the black and white Christian communities thus enhancing racism which is not religious or biblical. By critically analysing the biblical way of life, a level of unity among the people who share the same doctrine of Christ is expected. Black Liberation Theology initially intended to assist the black community, but in reality it ended up hurting the more. It promoted negative values for instance: racial tension, victimization, and Marxism ultimately leading to more oppression. Latin American Liberation Theology The liberation theory originally developed from ideologies and activities instigated by the Catholic missionaries in the colonial Latin America. Latin American Liberation Theology says that there is oppression and exploitation of poor people by the rich capitalist nations. The Latin people developed the theology by radical interpretation of the bible biased to the people. The inclusion of armed pastors was one of the characteristics that brought this movement in the limelight. This yearning for change got spurred by armed revolution. This is why; so many churches had people carrying guns and other weapons to shoe how they were fighting for their liberation. The history of Eastern Europe has been marked by migration, foreign conquest, war and revolution. The region is home to a mix of diverse people who have often battled with each other and many foreigners As a buffer and crossroads, Eastern Europe reaches from Central Europe to Russia. Also, it reaches from the Baltic Sea and through the Balkan Peninsula. Much of the region lies on the European plain . Its main rivers, the Danube and the Vistula allowed goods and cultural influences to travel along river routes. This led to the Balkans in the south feeling the impact of the Byzantine empire and the Muslim Ottoman empire. • 47. A Spirited Away Exemplar: Spirited Away Spirited Away is the story of a young hero named Chihiro. When making the journey to her new home, a detour into a sketchy amusement park sends Chihiro away from her world and into the spirit world. Our hero is suddenly faced with a dilemma; her parents are pigs (both literally and metaphorically), and the tunnel connecting the human world and the spirit world has been blocked. In order to return to her world safely alongside her parents, Chihiro must survive in the spirit world and play by its rules. Our hero faces great challenges and trials, like... getting a job? And... confronting your boss? How about remembering to eat so that you don t disappear?... The spirit world is oddly similar to reality huh. Anyways,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the end, we see the results of Chihiro s growth as a character as she faces the Witch Yubaba in the final confrontation. She not only completes her initial quest, but also finishes the side quest, allowing her to become a much more mature individual as compared to her state of being at the beginning of the film. Spirited Awaydraws upon many mythic themes, and the ones that I will be talking about are Symbolism and Sacred Spaces. One of the symbols that we are first introduced to in Spirited Away is water. When our hero starts to transition into the world of spirits, something happens off screen. Water suddenly blocks the tunnel that connects the human world and the spirit world. Water also appears to magically surround the perimeter of the bathhouse at its base. Water is also used in the bathhouse to rejuvenate and cleanse spirits that enter. And finally, water comes up again when we see a flashback of what seems to be Chihiro drowning in a river. So what s up with water? Well, throughout the film, water is used to symbolize freedom and captivity. It serves as a literal object that blocks Chihiro s path back to the human world, and also limits movement around the spirit world (we see that Chihiro has to utilize a train system in order to move around the spirit world freely). However, water isn t all that bad. In the scene where Chihiro is faced with the responsibility to clean the stink spirit, inordinate amounts of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
