How can the aesthetics of pop music be measured? From person to person tastes in music differ
greatly and the effect that music has on ones self can be very abstract, so how can the aesthetics of a
classification of music, pop, that is: simple, predictable and repetitious be measured? The most

Born on December 26, 1893, Mao Zedong was the founding leader of the People s Republic of China
and ruled as the Chairman of the Communist Party of China from 1949 up until he died on September

Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution (Joseph, 1986) which have left many critics arguing that

occurred at the age of 16. The first scene begins on the hilltop where Lame Deer had been brought by
Chest, the medicine man. Lame Deer has been left all alone on the hilltop for 4 days nights with no

Opinion
This in my opinion was a very interesting account of American Indian rituals. Lame Deer did a great
job on comparing and contrasting the white folks way of life with his own. He told us how Indian
children are typically never left alone which gives us a better understanding on why he was so afraid
of being alone on the hilltop. I feel like in this story I really got a better understanding of the Indian
way of life. They seem to be very tight knit group who value tradition above everything. Family seems
to be the most important theme as demonstrated by his grandmothers willingness to cut forty pieces of
her own flesh in order to make the rattle. This whole aspect about them is admirable but at the same
time I feel like they don t really take any actual logic into account. The whole vision determines your
life labor seem really fallible in my opinion. I can t really relate to this story in the sense that I have
never really experienced any of these things as im not a Sioux. I do think though that this story can be
related into our modern world in the sense that many kids are pushed into choosing a life career at a
relatively young age. Lame Deer was only 16 at the time but that is only a mere two years younger

the audience. This helped develop the storyline as it helped the audience get to know the characters

Normally done to music, stylist movement is fun, holds almost endless possibilities and is a very
effective technique to use.
In our piece, the elves used stylised movement to show a dance off after smashing the magic snow
globe. They were positioned on centre/left centre stage. The dance had accurate timing and a fast
speed. The dance was choreographed and involved no sound. This added lots of comedy and taught
me how to use dance in a stylised movement piece.

The section of this Chapter that I found to be interesting was Operant Conditioning. It was interesting
how we can train and produce a behavior that is more probable to recur with positive and negative
reinforcements. When we are presented with a positive reinforcer, we strengthen the probability that a
response will recur (pg 114). For example, when we are training a dog to do tricks, we reward the dog
with a treat every time the trick is performed correctly. With negative reinforcers we use unpleasant
stimuli that strengthens a behavior by their removal (pg 115). When teach a dog to heel, we may use a
harness around the dogs body. When the dog is pulling away, the harness creates an uncomfortable
pressure. When the dog is walking in the right spot that pressure is then remove. With negative
reinforcement we hope that the dog will get to a point that it avoids the pressure and and heels by our

what the punishment is for. If receiving too much positive punishment the dog could become fearful of
its trainer as oppose to learning his actions are wrong. Our own attitudes and behavior could also
