During this time, daughters inherit the land from their mother. This shows that men and women did
not completely rely on each other economically. Men and women generally had their own properties
and estates. Sometimes women rejected men coming to visit them at their estates after the relationship
began. On the other hand, men sometimes stopped visiting women. During the Heian era, traditional
marriage was still strong. Also, in some cases, when a man stopped visiting a woman for a while,
another man started visiting the woman. While the new man was still visiting, the old man might come
back to visit the woman; two men might even meet each other. Visiting several women at a time was
not considered rude during this era.
Women were often treated differently according to status. Women of different status often hated each
other and became jealous of each other. In The Tale of Genji, women of the court hated Kiritsubo
because the emperor loved her the most even though Kiritsubo was in a lower position than those

During the Heian era, however, new changes occurred. The growth of a consuming public accelerated
with the development of cities like Heian Kyo. People used to work, even wives of nobles, outside on

The oil spills from an off shore oil rig or tanker can do tremendous damage to the esosystem in the
area of the spill and expand over vast regions to affect coastlines and indigenous wildlife hundreds of
miles away. Cleaning oil spills, especially in a marine environment is important and it is a challenging
task. The methods currently used to clean oil in water can be divided into following categories: using
booms and skimmer; using oil solidifier and dispersants; adding biological agents to speed up the oil
breakdown; or in situ burning of oil spills. However, only the skimmers were designed to recover the
spill oil.1
When oil is skimmed from the surface water, much of the recovered material is water. Thus, the
storage container fill up with more water than the actual oil. For example, a weir skimmer generally
recovers 70% water and 30% oil.1 To help make storage space available for actual oil, the recovered
water may be decanted back into the surface water where it was collected.
The collection of oil using hydrophobic/oleophilic material is preferred because it allows for the
proper disposal of oil and does not cause secondary pollution. The combat global scale water pollution
arising from oil spills and industrial organic pollutant, the development of efficient absorbent material
to efficiently separate and remove oil and organic pollutants from water should be of great
significance in addressing the environmental issue.

It removes the time needed for adaptation and causes a great loss of life in the process. Globally,
millions due to the direct and indirect influences of the little ice age. Every major death event and war
during this period from the black plague to Napoleon s failed campaign into Russia, the French

Probosciger aterrimus, also known as the palm cockatoo, goliath cockatoo, and great black cockatoo,

is often found in New Guinea, Aru Islands and Cape York Peninsula. A bird s beak not only allows it
to eat, but also to groom and feed its offspring. Proboscigar aterrimus has a long, pointed and curved
black beak that exceeds past its mouth. The mouth always remains slightly open, as the lower beak
