Evil In Dance Mom
Evil is something in our world that is very overlooked and not talked about. To be evil is to encourage
harm or hate toward another person other than yourself. But Why is there evil? If a person is evil, are
they born evil? Or what makes a person evil? There has always been a constant feud between the
nature vs. nurture debacle. The say that nature theory holds that genetic influence over abstract traits
however, it is nurture that affects our behavioral innocence. People, places, and our experiences can
affect how we act towards others. How behavior is a huge factor when dealing with other people. It
can affect how we treat others and how others treat us.
The traits of being evil can be seen in people from all over the world. The characteristics ... Show

inflicts upon her students can cause long term effects and may affect her and her company in the long

young teens may seem themselves as unloved, neglected, or view themselves as less than a person.
Because the mind is still developing, verbal abuse can undermine your child s self esteem, damage his
ability to trust and form relationships . This may seem like a mediocre problem in the dance industry
however, whether on stage or off stage a child s innocence or sense of confidence is important for their
performance on stage and their performance off stage. Self esteem and confidence is important at a

Essay Comparing Othello And Enduring Love
In Othello , A Streetcar named Desire and Enduring Love , a recognised, recurring theme is lack of
communication. This theme appears in most of the relationships presented in the three literary
examples, and often this flaw causes damage to several relationships such as: Blanche and Stella s
sisterhood, Clarissa and Joe s physical relationship, and Othello and Desdemona s romantic
relationship. In this essay, it will be investigated whether this lack of communication, both verbal and
non verbal, is the overall reason that these relationships appear flawed.
In each of the plays respectively, there is at least one character whose major flaw is lack of
communication. In Othello , by William Shakespeare, the main character Othello is the one ... Show

This is not necessarily completely Jed s fault but also falls on the shoulders of Joe, who refused
throughout the novel to talk about the situation thoroughly. When it is suggested by Jed that he, Joe
and Clarissa all meet to talk about Jed s love for Joe, Joe stubbornly refuses, yet this conversation
could have solved many of their relationships future problems. Had Joe gone through with this
meeting, he could have properly spoken with Jed about their relationship and with the aid of Clarissa
could have helped Jed understand that his feelings were actually not returned by Joe. Instead, Joe gets
angry at Jed but doesn t completely cut himself off like he should have if he really wanted to get rid of
him, but almost becomes as obsessed with Jed as Jed is with Joe. This in turn makes Jed believe more
and more that Joe actually does return his feelings but is suppressing them, causing Jed to become
increasingly determined to convince Joe of his love, to such an extent that it damages his mental
health. Due to Joe s confusing behaviour towards Jed, Jed becomes confused and delusional about

Review Of Veelas The Veela
Veelas: The Veela are a race of semi human, semi magical humanoids reminiscent of the Sirens of
Greek mythology. Little is known about their biology; they appear to be young, beautiful humans.
Their looks and especially their dance is magically seductive to almost all male beings, which causes
them to perform strange actions in order to get nearer to them. Veela are thought to have their own
type of magic which does not require a wand. When Veela are angry, however, they transform into
something more like Harpies their faces turn into cruel beaked bird heads while long scaly wings burst
from their shoulders, and they can launch balls of fire from their hands. Veela seem to be quite an
irascible race. Veela hair is a magical substance, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Vampires have an aversion to garlic and the sun and can be kept at bay by its presence. Vampires are
able to live longer than Muggles. Given some Wizarding attitudes towards Half breeds and other
creatures (such as vampires, werewolves, and hags), the Guidelines for the treatment of non wizard
part humans stop discrimination and prejudice against them. Specifically with the treatment of
vampires, and prohibits them from being killed arbitrarily. In order for a a human to become a vampire
a blood transferal must accord. Here on G M we will avoid diving into half vampires.
Werewolves: A werewolf is a human being who, upon the complete rising of the full moon, becomes a
fearsome and deadly near wolf. This condition is caused by infection with lycanthropy, also known as
werewolfry. Werewolves appear in the form of a wolf but, there are distinctions between them and
regular wolves. A mixture of powdered silver and dittany applied to a fresh bite will seal the wound
and allow the victim to live on as a werewolf, although tragic tales are told of witches and wizards
begging for death rather than becoming werewolves. The Wolfsbane Potion, invented by Damocles,
allows the werewolf to keep their human mind during transformation. A werewolf cannot chose
whether or not to transform and will no longer remember who they are and would kill even their best
friend given the opportunity once transformed.

Kofi Annan Finding Common Ground
In American society, two individuals often join hands and collaborate regardless of their different
characteristics. Even though their identities may clash with each others and be absolute opposites,
their union remains unaffected. Their combined strength enables them to complete many tasks. In the
unit of Finding Common Ground, the selections focuses on the citizens of America to explore this
concept of being unified despite diversity. Kofi Annan sums up this unit by saying, [People] may have
different religions, different languages, different colored skin, but [they] all belong to one human race,
in which he expresses that though people are carry differences, they have the potential to unite. The
main messages of this unit coincide with his words because the texts highlight that the people of any
country can unify and be strong as a group if they have the resolve to do so. Ultimately, a nation

Themes In The Namesake By Jhumpa Lahiri
I The Namesake introduces people who leave behind their families and the familiar heat of India to
build a new life in America a cold and a bleak land of strangers. Jhumpa Lahiri weaves a story
spanning three decades of geographically and culturally displaced Bengali family, comprising the
parents Ashoke and Ashima first generation immigrants who had migrated to the U.S.A. from Calcutta
in search of greener pastures and their children Gogol and Sonia the second generation immigrants.
Personal identity is what makes one the person he/she is. It is the way one sees himself and the
network of values and convictions that structure his/her life. At the beginning of The Namesake the
issue of name as a matter of identity is presented. As Ashima s water breaks she calls out to Ashoke,
but does not use his name. It s not the type of thing Bengali wives do. Like a kiss or a caress in a
Hindi movie, a husband s name is something intimate and therefore unspoken, cleverly patched over (
Lahiri 2003: 2). Bengali nomenclature grants every single person two names, a pet name daknam and
a good name bhalonam. Friends and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Namesake it occurs mainly due to the language and pronunciation of Orientals. Before Gogol s
birth Patty asks Ashima Hoping for a boy or a girl? she replied as long as there are ten finger and ten

can also mean fingers, a toe toes. This mistake pains her almost as much her last contraction (Lahiri
2003: 7). Gogol realized this discrimination at the American departmental store when his parents are
not properly attended and the cashier s smirk at his parents accent. The salesman prefers to direct his
conversation to Gogol as if Ashima and Ashoke were incompetent or

Different Stages Of Cell Division
1) Cell division is typically explained through the progression of 4 distinct phases, G1, S, G2, and M,
and can be tracked through CDK complex concentration ranges. CDKs are cyclin dependent kinases,
which regulate the cell cycle of eukaryotic cells; as suggested by the name, protein kinases are an
enzyme that is dependent on cyclin for the regulation of cell division through the addition of
phosphate groups. The different stages of the cell cycle correlate with different levels of cyclin and act
as a threshold that once reached, triggers a phase transition. For example, for a cell to move out of G2
phase into M phase, Cyclin B interacts with the CDK1 complex, and causes phosphorylation to
stimulate the phase shift; however, if the stage is not complete, the whole process slows down to
accommodate the discrepancy in CDK complexes (Nelson Education, figure 9.17, page 191). This can
be caused by several things, such as the presence of damaged or deformed DNA, or externally through
contact inhibition, where a delay in phase shift is caused by partial or incomplete contact of all cells. If
there is only partial cell contact, contact inhibition will typically prevent progression past the G1
phase until there is complete cell contact, which can be reflected in variable levels of the CDK
complex(Nelson Education, page 191). Overall, CDK regulates cell division through the combination
of CDK and cyclin, the activation of protein via a phosphate group that triggers a phase change,

John Bowlby And Mary Ainsworth s Attachment Theories
John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth s attachment theories derive from the idea that in early
development infants develop different attachment behaviors in relation to their caregivers. This
emotional bond between an infant and their parents can have an enduring impact on future
relationships throughout an individual s life. Research has shown that there does not have to be a
biological component for an infant to bond with a parent. Instead the bond or attachment is related to
quality and quantity of interaction between parent and child. (Boyd, Bee, p. 130) There are four main
attachment styles; secure attachment, insecure/avoidant attachment, insecure/ambivalent attachment,
and insecure/disorganized attachment. (Boyd, Bee, p. 133) Each of the four attachment styles come
with a variety of associated characteristics and behaviors. For example: a child who develops a secure
attachment will be an active explorer, easily soothed, and prefers their mother over a stranger. In
comparison an infant who develops an insecure/avoidant attachment avoid contact with their mother
and has no preference in interaction with their mother over a stranger. Insecure children will not resist
interaction from their mother, but they do not seek. Infants who have secure attachment will often seek
contact and interaction with their mother. (Boyd, Bee, p. 133) Growing up I had a very nurturing and
loving environment. Even though I am one of seven children my needs were always met by my

Just by looking at the way it works, one will most likely say that one is mathematically inclined if one

solve them once the cubes have been scrambled. According to Estevez (2015), Depending on whether
you figure it out yourself or get help from tutorials, there are many benefits in learning something new
and in this case, there are many benefits in learning how to solve the Rubik s cube. For starters, it s no
secret that learning something new helps promote a healthy and happy brain. Each time you learn a
new skill you are rewiring the parts of your brain by connecting neurons. The older we get, the easier
it is to allow ourselves to fall into patterns. We know a certain route to get to a destination and more
often than not we follow the same route rather than look for a new way. There is nothing wrong with
that, but if you take measures to always stay on the hunt for learning, you will create a healthier future
for yourself. The Rubik s cube is the perfect example. The Rubik s Cube also serves as a
representation of life. We face problems daily and work through them to get through the day

Effects Of Stereotyping In The Workplace
Stereotyping, in general, is the perception of individuals or groups based on preconceived notions
about what is generally accepted as true about that person or group rooted in their background
(DuBrin, 2009). Stereotyping can encompass ethnicity, religion, culture, race, age, or gender.
Stereotyping within the workplace often leads to discriminatory practices perpetuating common
negative effects. Based off of these preconceived notions about people sometimes is propagated by
employees within an organization usually where the culture promotes or open displays instances of
discrimination, whether it be intentional or not.
The overreaching conclusion is that stereotyping causes low morale and sense of worth to the

The Evolution Of The 1960s Protest Song
The evolution of the 1960s protest song has typically been associated with Joni Mitchell, but the
expanding range of protest songs in the 1970s defines her continued presence as a leader in terms of
environmental activism. More than just a vestige of the late 1960s, Mitchell continued to write protest
songs long after many other artists from the 1960s had changed their lyrical content. In the mellow
turn of early 1970s country rock and folk music, Mitchell represented a new environmental shift that
moved away from the proto typical antiwar songs of the 1960s. Mitchell, along with other musicians
of this era, defined a shifting musical focus on songwriting and musical presentation during the early
1970as:
The early to mid 1970s would become known for a mellow turn toward country rock, production
heavy supergroups, and envieronmental songs like Big Yellow Taxi (1970). Even the Beach Boys took
their turn at envieronmental critique, releasing Don t Go Near the Water in 1971 (Weglarz xviii).
In this musical critique, the soft rock appeal of Mitchell s song represented a shift away from the hard
rock sound of the 1960s, but with the gritty directness of lyrics that challenged the chemical pollution
of DDT usage in modern farming techniques. The hard edge of envieronmental critiques was certain
masked by the gentle nature of Mitchell s voice, but the reality of chemical engineering as a threat to
the environment is interjected through her flowing melodic structures:

It has its foundation in the theory of variation (understanding common and special causes) and was
one of the key tools developed by Walter Shewhart in the 1920s. The primary tools used in SPC are
graphical, including Pareto analysis, control charts and run charts. It is crucial for QI teams and
researchers to understand variation in data to avoid making errors in interpretation, though in practice,
many QI teams do not have sufficient biostatistical training to be able to interpret their data with
confidence. The practical power of SPC is that people who are not statisticians can bring significant
statistical rigor to their quantitative data in an intuitive format by understanding just a few simple,
pattern based rules to distinguish special cause variation (i.e., signals) from common cause variation
(i.e., noise). Distinguishing special and common cause variation is critical to understanding whether
changes you are making result in improvement (i.e., is there a signal of change present?). Among all
of the SPC tools, control charts have the most power to distinguish common from special cause
variation. Control charts plot data over time (time on the x axis) and include a measure of central
tendency (centerline, mean) and upper and lower control limits (plus/minus 3 sigma of the mean). The
control limits reflect the natural variation in the data or the extent of the

Psychoactive Drugs Affects The Body
Psychoactive drugs are a substance that change and affect the consciousness, mood, behavior of the
person taking these drugs. The powerful effect that psychoactive drugs have on the brain is caused by
the chemicals in these substances that can replicate the chemicals found in the brain. These chemicals
are designed to be able to imitate the functions of chemicals in the brain; they act primarily in the
central nervous system affecting the neurons in the brain. There is an interruption in communication of
neurons which affects our bodies in different ways; some can stimulate activity in the CNS, while
others can depress and decrease the activity. There are many different types of drugs that can change
the brain chemistry in this way, two of these are narcotics and stimulants. Psychoactive drugs change
the way people that take them feel about things, narcotics in particular change the way people feel
about pain being that this substance is used to relieve pain. This opiate is highly proficient in relieving

definitely raises the need of organizing, storing and analyzing it, not only in spread sheets controlled
by humans, by relying more on the computational powers of the field of informatics. Aligning the
growth of computer science with the increasing need of managing biological data has given rise to the
field of bioinformatics, which is generally defined as the intersection of biology, computer science and
information technology (1).
Looking back at the origin and history of bioinformatics, the concept of keeping and storing biological
data has started as early as the emergence of the famous Mendelian experiements. After he cross
fertilized flowers with different colors but from similar species, he started keeping record of his
genetic observations. In 1973, DNA cloning was invented by Herbert Boyer and Stanely Cohen in

Symptoms And Treatment Of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Essay
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as ALS or sometimes called Lou Gehrig s Disease, is a
progressive neurological disease affecting the nerves that control voluntary muscle movement. It is the
most common type of motor neuron disease. The body isn t able to operate as it normally does due to
the muscles weakening overtime. As the disease progresses, it starts to damage nerves of other vital
areas of the body. When the body isn t able to breath the way it should causing respiratory failure and
other things start to go wrong, the body has no choice, but to shut down and die. (ALS Association)
Lou Gehrig s disease came into public awareness from a famous New York Yankees baseball player
who was forced to retire after developing the disease and died two years later. It was originally
discovered in 1869 by a French neurologist named Jean Martin Charcot. He was the first man to be
able to connect motor neurons in the spinal cord to the ALS disease. (Medical News Today)
The name Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis is derived from Greek origin. Amyotrophic broken down
with A meaning no, myo referring to muscles, and trophic meaning nourishment. The three roots equal
the meaning of no muscle nourishment . When muscles lose their nourishment, they are not able to
stay strong and can withhold their shape. Lateral being the spinal cord and its position to the body and
sclerosis is defined as abnormal hardening of body tissue. When body tissue is hardened, it is not able

Dr.Strangelove Film Analysis Essay example
Introduction
In 1964, Stanley Kubrick released Dr. Strangelove or: How I learned to stop worrying and love the
bomb to both critical and commercial praise. The historical context surrounding the film s release was
at the height of the Cold War, just over a year after the Cuban Missile Crisis as the Vietnam War was
beginning to escalate. While based on a more serious book, Red Alert by Peter George, it was soon
transformed into a black comedy that parodied the absurdity of global nuclear destruction and the
mentality of the Cold War. While not as overtly anti war as his third film Paths of Glory, Kubrick still
manages to show the ridiculousness of nuclear war while linking two basic male instincts together, sex
and the desire to kill. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ripper s paranoia about denying women his essence clarifies the connection between war and sex.
While Strangelove admits that women are essential to the survival of mankind, the motivations of
women are suspicious. Ripper s decision to attack Russia when he was unprovoked is symbolic of his
fear of being attacked. He has become paranoid that the same infringement he performs on others
might fall on him. The constant waiting creates a life of its own within his mind and a sense of deep
apprehension that the same people he has abused will take their revenge. In his office, Ripper is
usually shot in high contrast lighting. A lighting effect that is shown largely in melodramas and
tragedies to show, evil, fear and the unknown, all of which the character embodies. The overbearing
masculinity of most of the characters is balanced by Mandrake and the Presidents, who are decidedly
feminist when handling the conflicts and attitudes about war. Mandrake plays a passive role when
dealing with Ripper. He listens to Rippers outrageous ideas, being careful not to upset him. He is also
very reluctant to help fire Rippers machine gun and tries desperately to convince him to recall the
planes or hand over the code. The President tries every possible diplomatic solution to quell the
military problem. He speaks to the Russian Premier in a feminist manner to try and avoid
confrontation. His approach to the

Nanabozho s Acceptance Of Ethnic Myth
Ethnic Myth Myth, a myth is a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a
people or explaining something natural that a culture believes. Myths are very important to religion
and they help to define different cultures through storytelling and legends. Personally I had many
different myths to choose from, having a very mixed background. I chose a tale that meant something
to me and my family, the myth of how the rainbow was made. This legend is a Native American tale,
told by the Tohono O odham people. Its very light and happy that s one of the reasons why it was told
to me was a kid. This myth may seem like just a children s story but it has a deeper meaning that
anyone can interpret for themselves. First of all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone can have their own opinion, but for me I think the lesson or moral of this tale is to go with
the flow and to have fun, also to not be a downer and to not rain on others parades because in the end
the ones having fun could do something amazing. This myth demonstrated that to me because the two
little birds were just having fun and playing their games when Nanabozho scolded them for having a
good time, and when the birds continued and didn t listen to him being a downer they ended up
creating something beautiful that even Nanabozho himself couldn t deny was incredible, so you
should never listen to others who are trying to hold you back from having a blast and just being silly
and fun. The origin and history of this myth is mostly unknown, no one really knows how this story
came to be and when, but people do know that this tale originated from the Ojibwe Nation and was
retold by S. E. Schlosser. After that other tribes started to adopt the myth of how the rainbow was
made, including my tribe the Tohono O odham Nation. People also know that this tale is very old that
s one of the reasons why no one knows when it was created because it was so long ago. So the
background and origin of this myth is for the most part a

The Neolithic Revolution, A Llist of Events
Unit 1: 1. Fire was one of the most important early technological innovation. Fire made surviving
through the cold months possible. It was also useful for cooking foods. Spears were useful for hunters
and gatherers. It helped catch and kill their prey. After the industrial revolution, innovations such as
the plow helped in agriculture to speed the process and not have to do each individual task by hand. 2.
The Neolithic Revolution was the start of agriculture. Due to it causing a surplus of good production,
specialized jobs were introduced. If one person has the ability to produce enough food for the entire
community, then everyone else can focus on different jobs. Along with time to focus on jobs, time for
recreation was introduced giving people more free time. Another long term effect of the Neolithic
Revolution was that land was thought of as property because people began living in the same place for
longer periods of time. 3. The Neolithic Revolution was responsible for food surplus that gave people
the opportunity to develop new technologies. Plows and hoes advanced agriculture greatly.
Agriculture meant people didn t have to move around following their food, but instead, stay in one
place. This brought on the construction of stable homes and buildings. 4. A state is a nation of people
unified based on their culture. Leaders such as King Hammurabi, Nebuchaddnezzar, King Menes, and
Queen Hatshepsut ruled these states and were supported by 5. Culture was what

My topic of interest is in memory; to be more exact it s on the phenomenon of false memory. False
memories are memories someone remembers but in truly did not occur or happened in the way
remembered. I was interested in the topic truthfully because I watch a lot of SUV on TV, and while the
cases may not be real I feel like people do have scenarios similar to the cases. There was one episode
in which a rape victim had identified the person she believed had attacked her, with so much certainty
she KNEW it was he. Needless to say, it had turned out she mistook the person who attacked her with
someone who had similar features. In a Ted Talk by Elizabeth Loftus she states examples of people

The Riot At Christie Pits
Today Canada is known as one of the most accepting and multicultural countries in the world. We
view ourselves as accepting and open to other cultures and nationalities. This view is not only held by
Canadians, but Canada is widely regarded by people worldwide as open and accepting. While this is
very true today, this has not always been the case. When we look to our past we see some moments in
our history which do not reflect the image that we have today. One of these moments is the riot at
Christie Pits. Although this riot was a huge incident, it was only the tip of the iceberg. It was the
culmination of years of anti Semitism in Toronto and racism, and was merely the climax of a much
deeper problem. The 1930s in Canada saw a spike in anti Semitism akin to nothing that has happened
before and nothing that has happened after. There were Swastika clubs formed and youth wearing
swastika badges in the east end of Toronto. In Quebec, there was a party modeled after the Nazi party,
called the Parti National Social Chrétien. While there is debate as to what were the reasons for this,
there can be no debate that this was a dark time in Canada s history and is in no way reflective of what
Canada is today. However, in order to prevent these horrible occurrences from happening in the future,
it is important to understand the causes of these events. This paper seeks to explore and understand
some of the main causes of the anti Semitism in Canada in the 1930s which culminated in the

Norm Violation Essay
I believe what Garfinkel means in background assumptions is how we commonly go throughout the
day and the order we do things in. In my norm violation I am going to not follow the order my culture
eats dinner in. The norm violation I decided to do is ordering dessert first at a restaurant. This is a norm
violation because you are suppose to order your appetizer first, then your entree and lastly your
dessert. I decided that Fender s Diner would be an excellent place to do my experiment. I dine here a
good bit and usually order their salads so this will be different for me. Fenders Diner is a locally
owned restaurant known for its 1950 s Rock n Roll American theme. On a Sunday after church lets out
is when I decided to do to do my ethnomethodology experiment. I also brought my sister who is
known for her sweet tooth. As we sit down at our table our slightly overweight waiter immediately
greets us. We order chocolate milkshakes and our waiter smiles and says, Wait! No lemon water this
time? This is the first reaction we received. It made me feel a little nervous because if he is already
reacting to our drinks, how is he going to react to the rest of the dinner. After we receive our
milkshakes we ordered our ice cream brownie delux. Our waiter laughs and asks if that would be all. I
explain to him that we would still like an entree but that we want our dessert first. We then order a
burger and some fries. He then warns us that we may start looking like him if we keep this up this diet.

Fashion Imagery Research Paper
We have expressions which refer to the idea that we may experience time as subjectively happening at
different speeds. For example, A watched pot never boils. But, we generally take the view that,
objectively, an hour is an hour is an hour and all things move forward at the same pace.
Yet, in fiction, time passing at different rates is a relatively common concept. Perhaps this intrigues us
because of real world experiences which fit that concept in some sense.
When you look at signs and symbols, a common phenomenon is that imagery initially comes from real
world items in a relatively literal manner but, over time, the symbols are kept even though technology
moves on and the thing it refers to is no longer in use. Here are a couple of ... Show more content on

this, the story has taken up half a year of real time . This, naturally, is going to affect both how quickly
you can develop the overall narrative and how contemporary you can make it. However, all characters

Pakistan Is An Essential Element For Agriculture
Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world with essentially an agricultural based
economy. Water is an absolutely essential element for agriculture. However, Pakistan s inability to
plan for its future, and currently having poor infrastructure, outdated irrigation system and its internal
politics has placed it on a disastrous path towards water scarcity. The apathy in the role played by the
various stakeholders and the water institution that deals with the water allocation and its distribution
has really been substandard to say the least. In essence it s been the management aspect that has been
the core reason why Pakistan finds itself in current disastrous situation today as far as water scarcity is
concerned.

This involves all levels of stakeholder integration to solve the issue of water scarcity.
In order to fix Pakistan problems of water scarcity, one first need to look at its geography, thus
enabling us not only to understand the basic physical system such as water cycle, but also to determine
the physical and cultural characteristics of the region. The other important aspect to understand is the
administrative setup within Pakistan, which basically refers to the political structure of the
governmental setup inside Pakistan. The next key step is to talk about water management in Pakistan
using a theoretical lens to analyze the role of different stakeholders in the country and problems faced
by the water sector.
a) Pakistan s water geography:

Similarities Between Dreams And Dreams
One of the interesting differences between the two is that often, we are aware of watching a film, but
not that we are in a dream, which is an important difference that can have interesting consequences for
answering if a dream is a fiction. Lastly, Curry argues that in dreams we have a bi sociative character,
meaning that we have both the sense of being in the dream and being a spectator in it, this is an
interesting phenomenon, however, I think that this also exists in normal everyday experience in the
form of reflexive awareness. By reflexive awareness, I mean that we can have an awareness that we
are aware, so this phenomenon is not exclusive to dreams. Looking at the similarities between film
and dreams is an interesting avenue to examine the question, but does not give a full enough evidence
to show that dreams are indeed fictions, nor does it answer the question if a dream is even like a film,
all it shows is that they have similarities. However, it is possible to think of a dream as a film, if you
imagine a device that can record your dreams and then project it onto a screen and watch the dream on
the screen then the dream would act as if it were a film, having the same similarities as mentioned
above. But, there would also be a lot lost in the translation as well, such as the bi sociative character
(Curry), and the ability to feel so much in a dream. But due to the ease in which it is possible to
imagine a dream as a film, it strengthens the argument for a

The Farmers Alliance, founded by Charles W. Macune in 1875, had similar focus as the National

farmers from the South and Midwest joined the Alliance movement in the year 1886, as tenancy rates

Piaget s Stage Theory of Cognitive Development
The Piaget s Theory
The Piaget s stage theory of cognitive development is also known as the stage theory. It introduces
that, in the expansion of our thinking, we act through an organized and certain sequence of steps.
However, the theory focuses not only on compassionate how the children obtain knowledge, but
likewise on the discernment of the substance of intelligence. According to the Piaget s theory of
cognitive development, there are two stages in the thinking pattern of a 3 year old preschooler and 9
year old student. They are the preoperational stage for the 2 to 7 year old and the concrete operations
stage for the 9 year old. The preoperational stage (three years old preschooler), this is where a new
child can intellectually perform and signify to the objects and issues with the quarrel or the images,
and they can act. The concrete operations (nine year old student), where a child is at the stage and
deliver the ability to maintain, reserve their thinking, and analyze the objects in conditions of their
many parts. However, they can also assume logically and understand comparison, but only about the
concrete events. Firstly, the stage of pre operational, which lasts until about age seven, in which the
children have the ability of many feats that they could not achieve prior. For instance, they commence

Mr. Giblin s The Riddle Of The Rosetta Stone
Mr. Giblin makes it very clear from his text, The Riddle of The Rosetta Stone, that in his mind, the
scholar Jean Francois Champollion, is the greatest contributor to solving the riddle of the Rosetta

providing in depth information on the life of Champollion both before and after his work on the stone.
Giblin provides vivid detail about stone and uses strong language to emphasize to his reader how
significant the discovery of the stone was. His viewpoint is made clear by his description of the stone

important the writing and symbols on the stone are by saying they, gave 19th century scholars their
first key to the secrets of ancient Egypt. In his view, of all the languages written on the stone, the most
important writing was the Egyptian writing. He discusses how each scholar was eager to be the first to

Self-Presentation In Tamburlaine
When language serves as a tool for characterization, two fundamental distinctions must be established:
whether the verbal forms of self presentation remain implicit or explicit and whether the implicit form
of self presentation is voluntary or involuntary. Explicit self presentation occurs when a figure
consciously outlines its picture of itself and this may happen in the context of either monologue or
dialogue. The information received from the character in this way is not objective or trustful and
should be evaluated as elements of a subjectively coloured form of self presentation. In examples of
explicit self presentation within a dialogue, there is a deceiving factor embodied in the strategic
intentions of the speaker who frequently ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The praise on Zenocrate shows close affinities with Elizabethan poetic conventions in its structure, in
the repetition of the metrically regular lines in which Zenocrate s name is introduced, and in its
imagery. It is a highly lyrical description it opens with references to nature s participation in
Tamburlaine s feelings, watery cheeks, aire, earth and goes on to speak of Zenocrate s imminent death.
It ends with five parallel visions which show the loving sympathy and grief of the angels, of the

Midsummer Night s Dream) Examples of true love in literature can be found in a myriad of oeuvres
and opuses. It is extremely popular in the contemporary era to include romance in a novel. An
exemplary case of an instance of true love in modern writing would be the affiliation of Eddard Stark
and Catelyn Tully in George R. R. Martin s A Game of Thrones. These two characters share an intense
romance, and never sincerely stop loving one another. Moreover, in the aforementioned author s A

To begin, Hermia and Lysander s romance, as detailed in A Midsummer Night s Dream, is true, as this
love is both gradual and exceedingly organic. Unlike Helena and Demetrius s fake and fallacious love,
the romantic passion between Hermia and Lysander is genuine. It was not the fairy king, Oberon, who
made them fall deeply in love with each other, as is the case with the former pair of paramours.
Instead, Hermia and Lysander fell in love naturally, and in a gradual fashion. This proves their love to
be true, as a person cannot fall in love with another in a brief period of time. Love is piecemeal, and
takes numerous hours, if not years, for two people to become paramours. This is not true of the
romance between Helena and Demetrius, as the two fell in love in a single instant. Demetrius was
bewitched by Oberon s magical elixir, and that is the only reason why the youth dotes on Helena.
Before he was given the potion by the fairy king, Demetrius utterly detested Helena and loathed her.
In truth, Demetrius did not even wish to see the girl, and was said to become sick merely upon seeing
Helena. Therefore, it was only because of Oberon s involvement that those two people fell in love.
Thus, their love is not true, and is entirely fictitious and fraudulent. In addition, the love between
Hermia and Lysander relied on no involvement from Oberon to form. The fairy king s influence
played no part in making them fall in love. While it is true that Lysander was given

The Vice Presidential debate, held at Longwood University on October 4th, was between the
Democratic candidate, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, and Republican candidate, Indiana Governor Mike
Pence. Specific issues were asked about by the moderator, Elaine Quijano, such as specific qualities of
the candidates that would make them good leaders if tragedy were to occur. However, the candidates
used much of their allotted time to target the opposing presidential candidate and would then interrupt
their opponent multiple times throughout their answer. Comparing the citizenship qualification of the
United States to Germany may be helpful in solving the current immigration problems facing our
country. The Vice Presidential debate showed the differences in opinion on immigration; the
Republican campaign looks to build on the current enforcement only policies and the Democratic
campaign seeks to secure the country while attempting to help immigrants and their families.
The Republican candidate, Donald Trump, has shown an openly negative opinion of immigration,
specifically of Muslims and Mexicans. The common remark people remember is Trump s promise to
build a massive border wall, which would be devastating to the economy. Mike Pence focused his
reply to the question of immigration on the safety of American citizens being the top priority. He also
stated that their party would suspend the Syrian refugee program because it is too complicated to
know if a person is associated with the Islamic

Code Of The Inner City Analysis
Life in the Inner City In the novel Code of the Street: Decency, Violence, and the Moral Life of the
Inner City written by Elijah Anderson, Elijah discusses how the environment and the economy affects
the choices that youths in the inner city make. Elijah argues that the inner city black America is
extremely violent, but he also asserts that there is this code individuals in these areas need to
understand in order not to be harmed. Elijah supports this code using interviews and personal stories
from individuals living in the inner cities. An important key point to remember from this novel is that
violence happens because of the socioeconomic issues that surround these cities. In order for Elijah to
explain what life in the inner city is like, he engaged in participant observation, direct observation, and
conducted interviews in the state of Philadelphia. He used these methods to support the ... Show more

The interviews that Elijah conducted helped understand that there are many challenges individuals
face in these communities. In addition, most of the key points Elijah explains in this novel can be
compared to the things that people go through when involved in gangs. In every urban neighborhood,
there are two different types of families, decent and street. Street oriented families consist of
individuals that lack education, are involved in violence, and underground activities. Street oriented
individuals are seen as bad people and low life individuals. On the other hand, decent families are
those who work hard for things and influence others to do good in life. Although decent families are
surrounded by illegal activities, they try to look away from it and take the right path towards success.

Dennis Rodman
The person I decide to do my psychology study on is Dennis Roman, I decided to pick him to do my
study would is because he is well known to have a lot of psychological problems. Some of his
psychological problems are the reason that made him an even bigger star than he was just off his
accomplishments. Some people could even argue the fact by some of his bizarre events he was able to
generate a bigger salary for NBA contract as well too. By fully understanding Dennis Rodman we,
will know who he is, where he comes from, then ask what makes him do the things he does, and why
he does it? Dennis Rodman was originally born on May 13, 1961 in ... Show more content on

This was the new start of his bad boy and bizarre attitude that garnered a great deal of attention to him
through the media when he was traded to the San Antonio Spurs. When he first arrived to the Spurs he
started coloring his hair strange colors. He stayed highlighted in the media by pulling antics like
saying he was getting married, inviting the media there, and walking down the wedding isle wearing a
brides` dress and said, I am marrying myself. Dennis also started piecing and tattooing all over his
body as well; he also was in the media for two of his most popular relationship with Carmen Electra
and Madonna. He was known for doing interviews at odd places like at gay bars. Even from 1997
2004 he was involve with wrestling even wrestling with fellow NBA Star Karl Malone, and generally
teaming up with wrestling phenomenon Hulk Hogan. His bizarre antics landed him a couple movie
deals earning quite a few huge paychecks in the box office. Take what you want from Dennis Rodman,
even with all the bizarre antics, he brought phenomenal skills set to the NBA no matter what team he
played for the, Piston, Spurs, Bulls, Lakers, and Mavericks. His contributions to teams helped win the
NBA Finals 5 times, two with the Detroit Pistons (1989 1990) and three with the Chicago Bulls (1996

What Is The Moral Of Frankenstein
The message, merits, and moral implications of Mary Shelley s Frankenstein have been long debated
and discussed. Many recurring themes which are apt to surface in these conversations are those such
as the woes of artificial creation and the man is not God argument. These themes have been so
thoroughly explored and exploited that this essay could not possibly generate and original thought
within the realms covered by these topics. In order to formulate something remotely fresh and at least
relatively interesting, this essay seeks to shift the focus to the less explored dilemmas which Shelley
may have purposely or subconsciously woven into the classic novel. The very fact that Mary Shelley
is a woman casts the already remarkable tale ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having shown that Shelley intended for Victor to play the role of mother in her analogy, focus will
now shift to the ultimate point of the novel: The nurturing provided by a mother (Victor), is the most
necessary and vital experience of a child s life and directly affects the person he becomes. From the
very beginning, Victor shirks the responsibility of nurture and literally runs from it. As the creature
awakes he exclaims: breathless horror and disgust filled my heart. Unable to endure the aspect of the
being I had created; I rushed out of the room (Shelley 58). The Monster then immediately assumes the
role of infant in the relationship as Victor says, His eyes were fixed on me. His jaws opened, and he
muttered some inarticulate sounds, while a grin wrinkled his cheeks (Shelley 59). In the normal
human realm this situation would be met with a dozen tear filled eyes seeking to hold and coddle the
creation. Unfortunately for the Monster, no such treatment is offered by Victor. Frankenstein leaves
the Monster to fend for himself. The horrible consequences of this lack of nurturing follow with
intensity and frequency. This is proven by the rapidly building sense of confusion and loneliness
within the monster. Feelings which are only multiplied by society s general rejection of him. The
Monster laments to Victor upon their reunion on these feelings, no distinct ideas occupied my mind:
all was confused. I felt light, and

The Importance Of Plagiarism
In the growing age of the internet, it has become easier and easier for students to plagiarize. In many
ways plagiarism hasn t changed at all, it is still a shortcut students may take to get a paper or
assignment done as fast as possible. It can sometimes be difficult to recognize what plagiarism is and
why it is such an inexcusable action. Understanding plagiarism is one key to becoming a better writer:
knowing what plagiarism is, the importance of documentation and when to use MLA or APA.
Plagiarism is the theft of someone s written work and claiming it as your own. Today, the temptation
for students to cheat is even more pervasive, with seemingly every idea about everything just a few
finger taps away (Miller). As it becomes easier to plagiarize it can become harder to distinguish what
plagiarism is. Plagiarism can be done on everything from music, images, and videos. Copying
someone else s sentence structures is also considered plagiarism. Plagiarism can have harsh
consequences if there is lots of money involved. It is also an extremely serious offense when it comes
to academics and if caught you can be expelled from school.
When using another person s words in your own paper you must use proper documentation. By using
proper documentation you can utilize another person s ideas without plagiarizing. It is even possible to
self plagiarize your own work. Why not? They were my words. I was their author. I assumed I could
employ them as I pleased (Carnett). Taking

Reflective Beliefs Of AquinasTeaching On The Eucharist
Aquinas teaching on the Eucharist has offered many new and distinctive insights to me. One of these
insights is when Aquinas asks the question whether one should distinguish the two ways of eating
Christ s body. The two ways are spiritually and sacramentally. His opponents argue there is no need to
and I thought the same as well, because eating the bread and drinking the wine would encompass both.
However, after reading Aquinas I answer , it became clear to me that there is a twofold division
between the sacrament itself and the effect of it. An example my professor gave is if a mouse ate some
bread and wine. The mouse is not mindful and because of that, it only participated in the physical
aspect of the Eucharist, but not with its effect. You must be mindful to appreciate the symbols of bread
and wine or there will be more harm than good if you are not attentive of what God is doing. A quote
from Aquinas that helped me understand this better is when he says, but the sacramental eating that
does not secure the effect is contrasted with spiritual eating, just as the imperfect, which does not
attain perfection of its species, is contrasted with the perfect (ST 3.80.1). What he means by this is that
just by merely participating in the sacrament alone without the effect is like doing something in an
imperfect way. The perfect way of doing this is by complete eating, which is receiving both the visible
and invisible effects. Aquinas also offers some strong arguments against

Political Rhetoric Vs. Foreign Policy
It is no longer appropriate to say, China is quickly emerging as a global superpower. The fact is China
is just that. Realizing this the United States of America has attempted to once again turn its focus
eastward. Continuing problems at home and in the Middle East however have made doing so difficult.
Additionally more and more frequently attempts at influencing the ongoing narrative in the Asia
Pacific region have been rebuffed. Even allies have found strength in the emergence of a system that
fails to conform to previously prescribed methods and ideals. This leads to a fundamental question
America must answer quickly. Has the growing hypocrisy of idealistic political rhetoric versus actual
foreign policy finally undermined American credibility with developing nations, or for the purposes of
this paper more specifically China? The answer is yes. In a world made much smaller by the
instantaneous connections of digital communications a state such as America cannot hope to proclaim
its own brainchild the internet open to all while at the same time subtly manipulating its use via the
Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers or ICANN. Neither can America lend its
support to the growing consensus that Climate Change is one of the most perilous natural uncertainties
to face humanity in recorded history without leading the way in dramatically reducing its
contributions to CO2 emissions. In such a world it is impossible to court brutal, authoritarian

This theme appears in most of the relationships presented in the three literary examples, and often this flaw causes damage to several relationships such as: Blanche and Stella s sisterhood, Clarissa and Joe s physical relationship, and Othello and Desdemona s romantic relationship. In this essay, it will be investigated whether this lack of communication, both verbal and non verbal, is the overall reason that these relationships appear flawed. Themes In The Namesake By Jhumpa Lahiri I The Namesake introduces people who leave behind their families and the familiar heat of India to build a new life in America a cold and a bleak land of strangers. Jhumpa Lahiri weaves a story spanning three decades of geographically and culturally displaced Bengali family, comprising the parents Ashoke and Ashima first generation immigrants who had migrated to the U.S.A. from Calcutta in search of greener pastures and their children Gogol and Sonia the second generation immigrants. Personal identity is what makes one the person he/she is. It is the way one sees himself and the network of values and convictions that structure his/her life. At the beginning of The Namesake the issue of name as a matter of identity is presented. As Ashima s water breaks she calls out to Ashoke, but does not use his name. It s not the type of thing Bengali wives do. Like a kiss or a caress in a Hindi movie, a husband s name is something intimate and therefore unspoken, cleverly patched over ( Lahiri 2003: 2). • 7. Different Stages Of Cell Division 1) Cell division is typically explained through the progression of 4 distinct phases, G1, S, G2, and M, and can be tracked through CDK complex concentration ranges. CDKs are cyclin dependent kinases, which regulate the cell cycle of eukaryotic cells; as suggested by the name, protein kinases are an enzyme that is dependent on cyclin for the regulation of cell division through the addition of phosphate groups. The different stages of the cell cycle correlate with different levels of cyclin and act as a threshold that once reached, triggers a phase transition. For example, for a cell to move out of G2 phase into M phase, Cyclin B interacts with the CDK1 complex, and causes phosphorylation to stimulate the phase shift; however, if the stage is not complete, the whole process slows down to accommodate the discrepancy in CDK complexes (Nelson Education, figure 9.17, page 191). This can be caused by several things, such as the presence of damaged or deformed DNA, or externally through contact inhibition, where a delay in phase shift is caused by partial or incomplete contact of all cells. If there is only partial cell contact, contact inhibition will typically prevent progression past the G1 phase until there is complete cell contact, which can be reflected in variable levels of the CDK complex(Nelson Education, page 191). Overall, CDK regulates cell division through the combination of CDK and cyclin, the activation of protein via a phosphate group that triggers a phase change, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

John Bowlby And Mary Ainsworth s Attachment Theories John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth s attachment theories derive from the idea that in early development infants develop different attachment behaviors in relation to their caregivers. This emotional bond between an infant and their parents can have an enduring impact on future relationships throughout an individual s life. Research has shown that there does not have to be a biological component for an infant to bond with a parent. Instead the bond or attachment is related to quality and quantity of interaction between parent and child. (Boyd, Bee, p. 130) There are four main attachment styles; secure attachment, insecure/avoidant attachment, insecure/ambivalent attachment, and insecure/disorganized attachment. (Boyd, Bee, p. 133) Each of the four attachment styles come with a variety of associated characteristics and behaviors. For example: a child who develops a secure attachment will be an active explorer, easily soothed, and prefers their mother over a stranger. In comparison an infant who develops an insecure/avoidant attachment avoid contact with their mother and has no preference in interaction with their mother over a stranger. Insecure children will not resist interaction from their mother, but they do not seek. Infants who have secure attachment will often seek contact and interaction with their mother. More than just a vestige of the late 1960s, Mitchell continued to write protest songs long after many other artists from the 1960s had changed their lyrical content. In the mellow turn of early 1970s country rock and folk music, Mitchell represented a new environmental shift that moved away from the proto typical antiwar songs of the 1960s. Mitchell, along with other musicians of this era, defined a shifting musical focus on songwriting and musical presentation during the early 1970as: The early to mid 1970s would become known for a mellow turn toward country rock, production heavy supergroups, and envieronmental songs like Big Yellow Taxi (1970). It has its foundation in the theory of variation (understanding common and special causes) and was one of the key tools developed by Walter Shewhart in the 1920s. The primary tools used in SPC are graphical, including Pareto analysis, control charts and run charts. It is crucial for QI teams and researchers to understand variation in data to avoid making errors in interpretation, though in practice, many QI teams do not have sufficient biostatistical training to be able to interpret their data with confidence. The practical power of SPC is that people who are not statisticians can bring significant statistical rigor to their quantitative data in an intuitive format by understanding just a few simple, pattern based rules to distinguish special cause variation (i.e., signals) from common cause variation (i.e., noise). Distinguishing special and common cause variation is critical to understanding whether changes you are making result in improvement (i.e., is there a signal of change present?). Among all of the SPC tools, control charts have the most power to distinguish common from special cause variation. (Medical News Today) The name Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis is derived from Greek origin. Amyotrophic broken down with A meaning no, myo referring to muscles, and trophic meaning nourishment. The three roots equal the meaning of no muscle nourishment . When muscles lose their nourishment, they are not able to stay strong and can withhold their shape. • 21. Dr.Strangelove Film Analysis Essay example Introduction In 1964, Stanley Kubrick released Dr. Strangelove or: How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb to both critical and commercial praise. The historical context surrounding the film s release was at the height of the Cold War, just over a year after the Cuban Missile Crisis as the Vietnam War was beginning to escalate. While based on a more serious book, Red Alert by Peter George, it was soon transformed into a black comedy that parodied the absurdity of global nuclear destruction and the mentality of the Cold War. While not as overtly anti war as his third film Paths of Glory, Kubrick still manages to show the ridiculousness of nuclear war while linking two basic male instincts together, sex and the desire to kill. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ripper s paranoia about denying women his essence clarifies the connection between war and sex. While Strangelove admits that women are essential to the survival of mankind, the motivations of women are suspicious. Ripper s decision to attack Russia when he was unprovoked is symbolic of his fear of being attacked. He has become paranoid that the same infringement he performs on others might fall on him. The constant waiting creates a life of its own within his mind and a sense of deep apprehension that the same people he has abused will take their revenge. In his office, Ripper is usually shot in high contrast lighting. A lighting effect that is shown largely in melodramas and tragedies to show, evil, fear and the unknown, all of which the character embodies. The overbearing masculinity of most of the characters is balanced by Mandrake and the Presidents, who are decidedly feminist when handling the conflicts and attitudes about war. Mandrake plays a passive role when dealing with Ripper. He listens to Rippers outrageous ideas, being careful not to upset him. He is also very reluctant to help fire Rippers machine gun and tries desperately to convince him to recall the planes or hand over the code. The President tries every possible diplomatic solution to quell the military problem. He speaks to the Russian Premier in a feminist manner to try and avoid confrontation. His approach to the ... Nanabozho s Acceptance Of Ethnic Myth Ethnic Myth Myth, a myth is a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining something natural that a culture believes. Myths are very important to religion and they help to define different cultures through storytelling and legends. Personally I had many different myths to choose from, having a very mixed background. I chose a tale that meant something to me and my family, the myth of how the rainbow was made. This legend is a Native American tale, told by the Tohono O odham people. Everyone can have their own opinion, but for me I think the lesson or moral of this tale is to go with the flow and to have fun, also to not be a downer and to not rain on others parades because in the end the ones having fun could do something amazing. This myth demonstrated that to me because the two little birds were just having fun and playing their games when Nanabozho scolded them for having a good time, and when the birds continued and didn t listen to him being a downer they ended up creating something beautiful that even Nanabozho himself couldn t deny was incredible, so you should never listen to others who are trying to hold you back from having a blast and just being silly and fun. The origin and history of this myth is mostly unknown, no one really knows how this story came to be and when, but people do know that this tale originated from the Ojibwe Nation and was retold by S. E. Schlosser. After that other tribes started to adopt the myth of how the rainbow was made, including my tribe the Tohono O odham Nation. It was also useful for cooking foods. Spears were useful for hunters and gatherers. It helped catch and kill their prey. After the industrial revolution, innovations such as the plow helped in agriculture to speed the process and not have to do each individual task by hand. 2. The Neolithic Revolution was the start of agriculture. Due to it causing a surplus of good production, specialized jobs were introduced. If one person has the ability to produce enough food for the entire community, then everyone else can focus on different jobs. Along with time to focus on jobs, time for recreation was introduced giving people more free time. Another long term effect of the Neolithic Revolution was that land was thought of as property because people began living in the same place for longer periods of time. 3. We view ourselves as accepting and open to other cultures and nationalities. This view is not only held by Canadians, but Canada is widely regarded by people worldwide as open and accepting. While this is very true today, this has not always been the case. When we look to our past we see some moments in our history which do not reflect the image that we have today. One of these moments is the riot at Christie Pits. Although this riot was a huge incident, it was only the tip of the iceberg. It was the culmination of years of anti Semitism in Toronto and racism, and was merely the climax of a much deeper problem. The 1930s in Canada saw a spike in anti Semitism akin to nothing that has happened before and nothing that has happened after. There were Swastika clubs formed and youth wearing swastika badges in the east end of Toronto. In Quebec, there was a party modeled after the Nazi party, called the Parti National Social Chrétien. While there is debate as to what were the reasons for this, there can be no debate that this was a dark time in Canada s history and is in no way reflective of what Canada is today. However, in order to prevent these horrible occurrences from happening in the future, it is important to understand the causes of these events. Yet, in fiction, time passing at different rates is a relatively common concept. Perhaps this intrigues us because of real world experiences which fit that concept in some sense. • 31. Similarities Between Dreams And Dreams One of the interesting differences between the two is that often, we are aware of watching a film, but not that we are in a dream, which is an important difference that can have interesting consequences for answering if a dream is a fiction. Lastly, Curry argues that in dreams we have a bi sociative character, meaning that we have both the sense of being in the dream and being a spectator in it, this is an interesting phenomenon, however, I think that this also exists in normal everyday experience in the form of reflexive awareness. By reflexive awareness, I mean that we can have an awareness that we are aware, so this phenomenon is not exclusive to dreams. Looking at the similarities between film and dreams is an interesting avenue to examine the question, but does not give a full enough evidence to show that dreams are indeed fictions, nor does it answer the question if a dream is even like a film, all it shows is that they have similarities. However, it is possible to think of a dream as a film, if you imagine a device that can record your dreams and then project it onto a screen and watch the dream on the screen then the dream would act as if it were a film, having the same similarities as mentioned above. But, there would also be a lot lost in the translation as well, such as the bi sociative character (Curry), and the ability to feel so much in a dream. But due to the ease in which it is possible to imagine a dream as a film, it strengthens the argument for a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To begin, Hermia and Lysander s romance, as detailed in A Midsummer Night s Dream, is true, as this love is both gradual and exceedingly organic. Unlike Helena and Demetrius s fake and fallacious love, the romantic passion between Hermia and Lysander is genuine. It was not the fairy king, Oberon, who made them fall deeply in love with each other, as is the case with the former pair of paramours. Instead, Hermia and Lysander fell in love naturally, and in a gradual fashion. This proves their love to be true, as a person cannot fall in love with another in a brief period of time. Love is piecemeal, and takes numerous hours, if not years, for two people to become paramours. This is not true of the romance between Helena and Demetrius, as the two fell in love in a single instant. Demetrius was bewitched by Oberon s magical elixir, and that is the only reason why the youth dotes on Helena. Before he was given the potion by the fairy king, Demetrius utterly detested Helena and loathed her. In truth, Demetrius did not even wish to see the girl, and was said to become sick merely upon seeing Helena. Therefore, it was only because of Oberon s involvement that those two people fell in love. Thus, their love is not true, and is entirely fictitious and fraudulent. On the other hand, decent families are those who work hard for things and influence others to do good in life. • 42. What Is The Moral Of Frankenstein The message, merits, and moral implications of Mary Shelley s Frankenstein have been long debated and discussed. Many recurring themes which are apt to surface in these conversations are those such as the woes of artificial creation and the man is not God argument. These themes have been so thoroughly explored and exploited that this essay could not possibly generate and original thought within the realms covered by these topics. In order to formulate something remotely fresh and at least relatively interesting, this essay seeks to shift the focus to the less explored dilemmas which Shelley may have purposely or subconsciously woven into the classic novel. The very fact that Mary Shelley is a woman casts the already remarkable tale ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Having shown that Shelley intended for Victor to play the role of mother in her analogy, focus will now shift to the ultimate point of the novel: The nurturing provided by a mother (Victor), is the most necessary and vital experience of a child s life and directly affects the person he becomes. From the very beginning, Victor shirks the responsibility of nurture and literally runs from it. As the creature awakes he exclaims: breathless horror and disgust filled my heart. Unable to endure the aspect of the being I had created; I rushed out of the room (Shelley 58). The Monster then immediately assumes the role of infant in the relationship as Victor says, His eyes were fixed on me. His jaws opened, and he muttered some inarticulate sounds, while a grin wrinkled his cheeks (Shelley 59). In the normal human realm this situation would be met with a dozen tear filled eyes seeking to hold and coddle the creation. Unfortunately for the Monster, no such treatment is offered by Victor. Frankenstein leaves the Monster to fend for himself. The horrible consequences of this lack of nurturing follow with intensity and frequency. This is proven by the rapidly building sense of confusion and loneliness within the monster. Feelings which are only multiplied by society s general rejection of him. The Monster laments to Victor upon their reunion on these feelings, no distinct ideas occupied my mind: all was confused. I felt light, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. The Importance Of Plagiarism In the growing age of the internet, it has become easier and easier for students to plagiarize. In many ways plagiarism hasn t changed at all, it is still a shortcut students may take to get a paper or assignment done as fast as possible. It can sometimes be difficult to recognize what plagiarism is and why it is such an inexcusable action. Understanding plagiarism is one key to becoming a better writer: knowing what plagiarism is, the importance of documentation and when to use MLA or APA. Plagiarism is the theft of someone s written work and claiming it as your own. Today, the temptation for students to cheat is even more pervasive, with seemingly every idea about everything just a few finger taps away (Miller). As it becomes easier to plagiarize it can become harder to distinguish what plagiarism is. Plagiarism can be done on everything from music, images, and videos. Copying someone else s sentence structures is also considered plagiarism. Plagiarism can have harsh consequences if there is lots of money involved. It is also an extremely serious offense when it comes to academics and if caught you can be expelled from school. When using another person s words in your own paper you must use proper documentation. By using proper documentation you can utilize another person s ideas without plagiarizing. It is even possible to self plagiarize your own work. Why not? They were my words. I was their author. I assumed I could employ them as I pleased (Carnett). Taking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Reflective Beliefs Of AquinasTeaching On The Eucharist Aquinas teaching on the Eucharist has offered many new and distinctive insights to me. One of these insights is when Aquinas asks the question whether one should distinguish the two ways of eating Christ s body. The two ways are spiritually and sacramentally. His opponents argue there is no need to and I thought the same as well, because eating the bread and drinking the wine would encompass both. However, after reading Aquinas I answer , it became clear to me that there is a twofold division between the sacrament itself and the effect of it. An example my professor gave is if a mouse ate some bread and wine. The mouse is not mindful and because of that, it only participated in the physical aspect of the Eucharist, but not with its effect. You must be mindful to appreciate the symbols of bread and wine or there will be more harm than good if you are not attentive of what God is doing. A quote from Aquinas that helped me understand this better is when he says, but the sacramental eating that does not secure the effect is contrasted with spiritual eating, just as the imperfect, which does not attain perfection of its species, is contrasted with the perfect (ST 3.80.1). What he means by this is that just by merely participating in the sacrament alone without the effect is like doing something in an imperfect way. The perfect way of doing this is by complete eating, which is receiving both the visible and invisible effects. Aquinas also offers some strong arguments against ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Political Rhetoric Vs. Foreign Policy It is no longer appropriate to say, China is quickly emerging as a global superpower. The fact is China is just that. Realizing this the United States of America has attempted to once again turn its focus eastward. Continuing problems at home and in the Middle East however have made doing so difficult. Additionally more and more frequently attempts at influencing the ongoing narrative in the Asia Pacific region have been rebuffed. Even allies have found strength in the emergence of a system that fails to conform to previously prescribed methods and ideals. This leads to a fundamental question America must answer quickly. Has the growing hypocrisy of idealistic political rhetoric versus actual foreign policy finally undermined American credibility with developing nations, or for the purposes of this paper more specifically China? The answer is yes. In a world made much smaller by the instantaneous connections of digital communications a state such as America cannot hope to proclaim its own brainchild the internet open to all while at the same time subtly manipulating its use via the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers or ICANN. Neither can America lend its support to the growing consensus that Climate Change is one of the most perilous natural uncertainties to face humanity in recorded history without leading the way in dramatically reducing its contributions to CO2 emissions. In such a world it is impossible to court brutal, authoritarian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
