Effects Of Restrictive Contraceptive Legislation On...
Effects of Restrictive Contraceptive Legislation on Unintentional Teenage Pregnancy
Danielle Assibu Gilmore
Frontier Nursing University
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of restrictive contraceptive legislation on
unintended teenage pregnancy. Teenage pregnancy has declined steadily over the past 40 years,
however in the past decade the rate of pregnancy among adolescents is rising. Restrictive
contraceptive legislation such as abstinence only education, mandatory waiting periods, parental
notification laws, or Medicaid funding restrictions could all play a part in the increase of pregnancy in
teenagers. One study found funding for abstinence only education programs were linked to increased
birth rates among black and white adolescents (Yang Gaydos, 2010). Another study found restrictive
contraceptive legislation resulted in higher unintended pregnancy rates among adolescents. The
implication of this review is state and federal policies should focus on improving education regarding
contraception use and forming policies which improve access to abortion.
Keywords: teenage pregnancy, unintended pregnancy, contraception legislation
Effects of Restrictive Contraceptive Legislation on Unintentional Teenage Pregnancy Legislation
dictates the degree of access teenagers have to contraception and in the event of pregnancy,
termination services. It is therefore important to understand the impact of legislation on the occurrence

The composer
Orff Carl, born July 10, 1895 at Munich Germany and died March 29 1982. He is known for his

Including his best known secular oratorio Carmina Burana, his trilogy is completed with Catulli

However, after the introduction, the orchestra is kept in a deep register, repeating the simple melody,
which depicts a sense of solemnity. During the climax part, the strong percussion, the stings, the
mixed choirs, and the brass have knitted the mightiness of the fortune, interacting with the text.
In Veris late facies, after using a bird call as an introductory, a slowly rising melody depicted a
reawakening from a cold winter. The sound of triangle acts like symbol of brightness.
In Ego sum abbas, this is a drunken piece, with the percussion, brass, male choir and baritone, it

Jingxiu Nunnery Ancient India
14. Jingxiu Nunnery (Um retreat, Buddhist Convent)
Jingxiu Nunnery was located outside ancient city at the Outside West Gate Street. Prior to the Great

from the ancient city and around villages, even Baili Island and other distant pilgrims came here often,

Introduction As we glance at the evolution of nursing we begin to realize that the practice of today has
been built upon 140 years of research that is responsible for the growth and development of evidenced
based practice. This paper will explore several theories from Florence Nightingale to today s theorist
in sequence to visualize the development of our current nursing practice Each theorist has its own
unique conceptual model that propels our profession to think differently when applied to our practice.
Evidenced based practice is therefore a deliberate, intellectual activity by which the practice of
nursing is approached in an orderly, systematic manner also known as the nursing process (Walker

According to Dr. Teruko Takahashi of Japan, he noted that nursing science is a unique human science
which focuses on phenomena related to human health (George, 2011). Dr. Brian Millar of Great
Britain noted nursing science as the body of knowledge developed from questions raised by nurses
and investigated by them, concerning the relationship of the human health environment (George,
2011). Therefore, nursing is both an art and a science that have derived concepts that leads to further
research, new theories and evidence based practice (Walker amp; Avant, 2011). Influences on Nursing
Holistic care is the hallmark of nursing practice. It is said that to treat disease we must look at the
whole person, spiritually, physically and psychologically. The classical definition of holism is that
people are multidimensional. They are interacting wholes and more than the sum of their parts
(Hancock, 2000). Focusing on holistic care when planning new developments and writing guidelines
or policies is all to the good but is only meaningful if patients perceive that they receive holistic care
from the staff with whom they have contact (Willis, 2002). Patients who receive holistic care may
respond better to treatment because they perceive their whole being as being cared for. Ultimately,
nursing as a science has been influenced by other disciplines such as philosophy, religion,

Cyanide Research Paper
After thoroughly reading this week s material, the specific weapon I have chosen is a chemical
compound such as sodium or potassium cyanides. I have chosen cyanides to be a potential weapon
used, simply because it is a more discrete way to harm mass casualties. According to the CIA, typical
plots focus on poisoning foods or spreading the agent on surfaces to poison via skin contact (CIA
2007). This weapons characteristics is usually described as a salt like material that range from a white
to yellow colored salt. These two specific cyanides are usually used to poison food or drinks, but can
be used with alternative methods. Cyanide salts can be used to penetrate the skin and infect the body
that way, or used as a contact poison. Other examples of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At high doses, cyanides cause immediate collapse. Medical treatments are available, but they need to
be used immediately for severely exposed victims. The accessibility of cyanide is extremely high. In
fact, cyanide is already naturally found in many plants and foods, such as cassava. From my personal
experiences and knowledge, cyanide is manufactured in cigarette smoke, textiles, and plastics. Due to
all of the natural and man made items cyanide is found in, it would seem too easy to gather a large
quantity. With the information provided above, one could only assume that the consequences of
cyanide would result in a great amount of harm. George Washington University s Paul M. Maniscalo
and Donald Wash states, the United States currently lacks an antidote with a favorable risk: benefit
ratio for administration at the scene of a mass casualty incident (Paul M. Maniscalo and Donald Wash,

1. Using the historical data as a guide (Exhibit 6.1), construct a pro forma (forecasted) profit and loss
statement for the clinic s average month for all of 2010 assuming the status quo. With no change in
volume (utilization), is the clinic projected to make a profit?
With no change in volume of 45 patient visits per day, the clinic is not projected to make a profit.
45 patient visits per day x 30 days in a month = 1,350 visits per month x 12 month =
16,200 visits per year
Using the average data given (2010) of 45 patients per day, average $130 revenue per patient, and a

USING JAN/FEB 2010 MONTHLY AVERAGE DATA
With the new marketing program, there should be an additional 27.9 ≅ 28 visits per day.
Calculation:
$7,000 for new marketing program per month
$3.50 variable costs of treating each patient

Aging Process Essay
Aging Process The first article I chose to read was about grief, and how to cope with it. The loss of a
loved one cause s great stress can temporarily interfere with concentration, decision making, and work
performance. With enough support and help, grief can promote personal growth of all of those
involved in the process. According to this article, grief can be triggered by extreme isolation,
depression, or other additive behaviors. Other indicators that show one who is dealing with grief may
include quick replacement of the lost relationship or avoidance of any reminder of or imitation of the
deceased. Many people who experience these symptoms need some sort of intervention by health care
professionals. According to this article, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These can go from sleep deprivation, and loss of appetite, to social withdrawal. Although these articles
both discuss grief and loss, they differ in certain ways. The first article talked more about the different
types of grief, and described the characteristics of them individually. The first article also discussed
the effects of a person who is not involved in care giving to their loved on who is terminally ill. I felt
that the second article talked more about the most basic type of grief in full detail. The second article,
as opposed to the first article, went into detail about the physical features that also accompany grief. I
also think that the second article talked about more broad concepts of grief, where as the first article
was more specific in its focus on grief. I really enjoyed the articles that I read. I aspire to become a
grief and loss counselor one day, so I felt that these articles really pertained to what I am interested in.
I think that they explained things very easy, in words that I could actually comprehend. I believe that
grief and loss counselors are very important in society; everyone at some point will lose someone they
love, and may need the special support of a professional. I also found this topic to be of relevance
because my best friends father just passed away about a month ago. I have been helping her mourn

The Evolution Of Video Games
The Evolution of Video Games
FULL OUTLINE
Specific Purpose: To inform my guidance about the evolution of video games.
Central Idea: Video games have evolved over time as technology has advanced from 8 bit 2D graphics
to the high quality of games they have become today.
Introduction:
I. As a kid we all had that favorite video game, whether it was Super Mario Bros., Pokémon, or Crash
Bandicoot.
II. As we have grown up we have watched the video games we used to play evolve to what is out there
now and then turn to previews of what is upcoming in video games.
III. With each new generation of game consoles along come new games that grew to be very popular.

B. A game to show off ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A. It was the first home video game console system. 1. 12 Games were included with each system. 2.
Customers could buy extra games by packs of 6 or individually.
B. A few months later, in November of 1972 Pong was created.
1. Allan Alcorn, a worker of Atari, created Pong which was the first video game that had great success.
2. Pong was created based on an idea from in the game Magnavox Odyssey.
3. Because of this, Atari had a lawsuit filed against them, but was later handled. C. The best selling
gaming console of its time, would be the NES, also known as the Nintendo Entertainment System.
1. It was also named by IGN the single greatest video game console in history.
2. The NES has a 72 pin design that you would plug into the system to play games.
3. The most well known game for the NES is Super Mario Brothers. 1. Gameplay, graphics, and sound
were the best that NES could go. 2. Quoted an article from the Academic Questions, VerBruggen
states By far, the single biggest factor driving the evolution of video games is technology. For decades
from the earliest games until the early 1990s almost all video games were two dimensional. 3. As
technology became more advanced, the games and consoles became more complex into the 3D games
today.
(Transition: If you don t remember playing the older games as much, maybe you will recognize some
of the games around today.)

The Drive shared, It wasn t until the late 1920s that safety glass, windshields, were introduced. After

there are also so many technology changes that made installing auto glass safer and making
advertising a little more challenging. In 2003 Chris Loberg started Loberg s Auto Glass and Repair

Comp 2 Class Reflection
Writing is a skill that needs to be practiced. Before this class, I didn t care about the writing because
my high school teachers didn t care about my writing, as long as I turn a paper, I would be fine. Now,
at the end of my Comp 2 class, I can assure I have improved my skills. From simply using MLA 8th
format to writing an ethnography, this class has helped me get a more advanced writing style to
accomplish the requirements that higher education requires. First of all, before this class my MLA
formatting was wrong. For example, instead of writing Prof. Webb I wrote Pamela Webb, another
example is the class, instead of writing ENGL 1231 201 I wrote ENGL 1231, Section 201. I made
these mistakes because instead of asking a professor for help, I thought to ask Google was good
enough to get the knowledge and skills to write a good essay. Now instead of using Google for the
answer, I try to ask and get in touch with my professors whenever I have questions, so I can do my
assignments as my professors want them. I have never taken criticism good, so it was hard for me

decide where I stand according to my topic, so I can have a good argument for why I believe that is
right. Finally, this class will be beneficial not only in my academic life but also in my professional.
Now that I have the skills to write a paper my future classes will be easier when I have to write a

How America s High Tech Sweatshops could lead to Brain Drain in the tech industry
Economic globalization has created an international skilled labor race, where developed countries,
compete for best and brightest human capital to advance their economies. By utilizing selective
immigration policies, these economically advanced countries target highly educated, and skilled labor
in foreign countries to meet their changing economic needs. The United States is no different and has

Character Analysis Of King Kong
King Kong is exciting screenplay that does a great job at demonstrating what the characters are
feeling. When the writers wanted to illustrate fear, they do so by painting an image terror, and makes it
relatable. By making a scene relatable, it helps with the understanding of the character s motives, and
gives insight to the kind of person that character is. By having a complex villain such as King Kong,
one battles the urge to root for Kong, as well as wanting him to ceased. While writers do an overall
great job with the development of the characters, where they lacks is in love story between Darrow
and Driscoll. By not successfully developing the relationship between Darrow and Driscoll in the
beginning, love between the two feels rushed, which therefore makes it challenging to care about their
relationship. Overall King Kong is a well written screenplay, that shows does a great job at showing
what the characters are feeling throughout.
Where the writers of the screenplay succeed is in illustrating the emotion that the character is feeling
at that moment. If one does not do this successfully, it makes it hard to invest in the characters, and
understand the situation of the scene. An example of this is when Carl and the ship crew approach
Skull Island. As they are approaching the undiscovered island, the writers describe this thick fog that
the characters enter (47). By doing this, the writers demonstrates imagery to describe the dark and
eerie place. As the characters are unable to see through the fog, they start to become afraid, as they
fear of the unknown. An example of this being expressed is when one of the ship crew members
Hayes yells captain, you don t know where the hell you re going (49)! Panic and terror possess the
characters, and the writers do a great of showing it.
The writers do a great job with the development of King Kong and making him a complex character.
At first, King Kong appears to be the stereotypical monster/villain that only kills and destroys, but
later in the story, King Kong shows a different side of him that a character such as himself usually
does not display. A moment where the complexity of King Kong s character is shown is when Ann and
Kong have their first real

Different Perspectives of Human Resource Departments
As I was doing my research and going through loads of articles and factsheet about Human Resource
Development, I came across these different perspectives about HRD. For example, DeS imone Harris
(1998:3) make the comment that Human Resource Development is a relatively new term, but not a
new concept . McGoldrick and Stewart (1996:1) tell us that HRD is a relatively new concept that has
yet to become fully established and accepted, either within professional practice or as a focus of
academic enquiry. The role of HR based from CIPD Personnel Standard Lead Body states: To
contribute to the short and long term success of organisations, by forming and managing the
environment in which people s individual and collective contributions are maximised . Human
Resource Department is also dependable for making human resource policies that will help an or

and training as well as its commitments in relation to regulation and corporate governance. For
example, the correct allowable leave of absence of an employee or other benefits, it will normally be
necessary to meet provisions within employment contracts. The establishment of an HR Policy, which
sets out obligations, standards of behavior and document disciplinary procedures, is now the standard
approach to meeting these obligations. HRD (Human Resource Development) also focuses on

Personal Reflection Of Journalism As An Elective Class
When I first selected Journalism as my Elective class I would be challenged in ways I had never
experienced in the conventional classroom before. After a full year of the class, I found that while this
was demonstrated to be true, the real challenge came from learning how to channel my self motivation
and intrinsic passion as opposed to external pressures like harsh due dates and grading. I have never
before in my life been given the opportunity to write about my passions and interests for a grade, nor
have I had the chance to write on behalf of a respected school institution. My motivations in
journalism were essentially flipped from those of the conventional classroom, where my grades are
motivated by the institutional pressures of the school, and my actual learning of the subject is
motivated by my personal interest in the class. Instead in journalism, my grades are dependent on my
personal interests, and my actual learning of the subject is dependent on the institutional pressures of
working for such an esteemed organization. This has provided me with a much more realistic
educational experience, relative to the professional world, as I am motivated internally to produce
content at the job of my choice and externally to conform to the expectations of my employer. I chose
to take journalism to see if I could accountably manage my work without many of the guidelines and
structure presented in most classes, and I feel that, 12+ quality articles later, I have

Brandon Teena s Life and Court Case
Brandon Teena was a twenty one year old transgender man: a person who was born female but who
identifies as a male, who was brutally raped and murdered in 1993. After a few friends found out he
was transgender they raped him, beat him relentlessly and then later shot him at a friends home for
filling a police report. His story brought national attention to transgender people and is the inspiration
for two films and a book. His life was not in vain and he still lives on in his story and the hearts and
minds of many.

The hate crime of Brandon brought national attention to the ideal and possibility that someone would
want to change their gender. For many people, this was their first time even hearing about trans people
and the violence against trans people. After his death, his identity was challenged and argued even
though there are quotes from him saying he felt like a man trapped inside a woman s body. As Karina
Eileraas puts it Transgender violence targets both men and women, but Brandon Teena s case
highlights its particularly brutal effects on FTM transgender individuals. Boys Don t Cry provides a
clear political incentive to integrate feminist, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender concerns in the
analysis of violence against women...Serious risks accompany any attempt to invest the body with
particular truths about gender and sexuality . Brandon was not fully accepted in life or given the
support he needed but he is remembered in death and his story continues to inspire many people
whether trans or not.

World War One ( Wwi )
World War One (WWI) is an important event in history and impacted history in a great way for four
years during 1914 to 1918. It is known as the Great War because the French, British, and Germans did
not know there would be another world war in history. The events occurring through August and July
of 1914 had catalysts to help the war build up its stockpile. The war was a conflict between the Allied
Powers (France, Russia, Britain, Italy and the United States), and the Central Powers (Germany,
Austria Hungary and the Ottoman Empire). The main causes of WWI was the rise in nationalism,
which was very strong in Germany becoming a leading factor, economic imperialism, and the
assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in 1914 who was heir to the Austro Hungarian throne. In
Germany, William II, the King of Prussia and emperor of Germany, was not a good leader, but he
exhibited aggressiveness. The rise of German nationalism was exerting influence to the state during
his ruling. During his reign, the Farmer s League was organized in the 1890s, and they influenced
farmers and the rural masses to mobilize against the Jews (they were jealous of the Jews and hated
them due to racism and because they were successful with business enterprises). Anti Semitism was an
idea created by Adolf Hitler, which his ideas caused a lot of racism and conflict. The Navy league and
Pan German League laid a foundation for German nationalism for WWI. By 1914, Germany was the
strongest and highest

Burn Injury
Burn injury is one of the most severe forms of critical illness and is associated with long term
complications. One concern is the long term effects of burn associated metabolic abnormalities in
glucose and lipid metabolism, which lead to the high incidence of morbidity and mortality in this
patient population [1].
Children are more vulnerable than adults to the metabolic abnormalities associated with burns due to
anatomical and physiologic factors and their limited energy reserves compared with adults [2]. Severe
burns are physically and psychologically catastrophic. Burned children have an elevated resting
energy expenditure, muscle weakness, and whole body catabolism, all of which are worsened by
prolonged bed rest and physical inactivity [3, 4]. Burned patients suffer from a concomitant muscle
wasting and negative nitrogen balance. The use of anabolic agents such as recombinant human growth
hormone and oxandrolone results in improved bone mineral content and muscle strength [5].
The role of the skin in maintaining adequate serum vitamin D (VD) levels has been well established
[6]. VD, or calciferol, is a liposoluble prohormone available in two forms: VD2 and VD3. Many
studies have suggested that VD is essential for bone health because of its role in the regulation of
calcium and phosphate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hypovitaminosis D is defined as 25OH D levels 30 ng/ml according to the Endocrine Society [10].
These patients avoid sun exposure due to heat intolerance and the risk of burn scar hyperpigmentation
[11]. Furthermore, biosynthetic function is known to be impaired after burn injury. Various therapeutic
approaches to burn care have been investigated in an attempt to ameliorate these adverse effects of
hypovitaminosis D [12]. One of these therapies is exercise, which has been reported to improve the
functional outcome of burn patients

Why People Believe In Bigfoot
foot Bigfoot is by far one of the most controversial creatures in all of history. Generally, it is described
as a large, hairy, ape like creature. It is reported to have many physical similarities to an ape, however
it walks on two legs like us humans. Just as its name clearly states, Bigfoot is said to have very, very
large feet. The range of its height is between 6 10 feet tall and it is said to be either brownish or
reddish in color. There are many reasons to why people believe in Bigfoot. The most obvious reason is
because of the proof . For hundreds of years people from different nations have claimed to have
spotted or found evidence of the beast out in the wild. The first evidence found in Canada was in the
year 1811, by a man who is said to have found large footprints in the snow, ... Show more content on

One main reason for this is because of the lack of legit proof. The reality is that the vast majorities of
Bigfoot sightings are hoaxes which have been proven to be fake. The small percentage of actual
sightings could easily have been a mistake of seeing some animal on its two legs, or something of that
kind. Also, there has never been actual Bigfoot bones or fossils found anywhere. Basically, there isn t
enough any solid proof to support the fact that Bigfoot actually exists. Personally, I do not believe that
Bigfoot exists. In my opinion, the photographs and video footage people have captured are incredibly
blurry and not very clear to see whether it is an actual beast or a human in some sort of costume. The
evidence that Bigfoot exists is too shaky for me to believe in a creature this controversial. There are no
historical facts that show that a creature like Bigfoot had ever existed. Also, if people believe that
there is a whole species of Bigfoot living in the wild, how come no one has captured one yet or found
out where the species

Investigating The Nine Aspects Of The Research Articles
Introduction; This review seeks to provide an evaluation of the nine aspects of the research articles
given below and the references for these articles are given at the end of the paper. Review has been
done on four articles in order to find relationship between board size and performance of firms in
context of different countries (United Kingdom, Ireland, China and Nigeria). The problems identified
in this paper are listed below; A) Among the other problems author particularly look at this problem;
whether the impact of board size on firm s performance is negative or positive (Article 1) B) how the
institutional environment like property rights influence size and composition of corporate boards in
China (Article 3) C) whether the effect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This paper further tests these following sub problems: A) What is the optimal number of board size in
UK? B) Is there any changes happened in board size and performance relation since 1990s in UK? C)
Is board size determined by firm s specific variables, such as profitability, Tobin s Q and firm size? D)
Whether the performance of board size depend on other characteristics that determine board size. E)
Why UK board plays less monitoring roles? Q3. Q3Theory: author have not discussed any particular
theory which is a drawback of this article. But discussed something which somehow related corporate
governance, boar and structure of board. The primary duty of the boards of director are monitoring
and advising. Author discussed about the advantages and disadvantages of having small and large
board members. And also discussed the importance of having outsiders in the board. Author used three
different performance measurement tools to evaluate firms performance (profitability, Tobin s Q,
ROA). Author provides evidence form different countries (such as, USA, Finland, Switzerland,
Canada, Malaysia) on the relationship between board size and firm performance. Most of the evidence
proved negative relationship between board size and firm performance. Q5 Method; Author used
generalised method of moment (GMM) estimator which allows board size to adjust with past
performance. Various regression model used; Fixed effect model which control unnoticed variables,
GMM estimator.

Essay on The Flawed King in Shakespeare s Henry V
The Flawed King in Shakespeare s Henry V
To turn Henry V into a play glorifying war or a play condemning war would be to presume
Shakespeare s intentions too much. He does both of these and more in his recount of the historical
battle of Agincourt. Although Shakespeare devotes the play to the events leading to war, he
simultaneously gives us insight into the political and private life of a king. It is this unity of two
distinct areas that has turned the play into a critical no man s land, acrimoniously contested and
periodically disfigured by opposing barrages of intellectual artillery (Taylor 1). One may believe that
Henry is the epitome of kingly glory, a disgrace of royalty, or think that Shakespeare himself disliked
Henry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Approaching the play through mere historical reconstruction limits the potential for insight into
society and threatens to create a stagnant historical account. Although the situation to which the play
refers no longer exists, a connection can be made between spectator and stage. The Chorus facilitates
this connection. Shakespeare obviously intended that the Chorus help the audience visualize the
proceedings of history. The Chorus has a dynamic role in inviting each audience member on a journey
through time. They have to assemble for themselves the model ruler of Henry, in accordance with the
instructions given, for it would be falsification of history to pretend that [the play] could contain a
clear cut and unambiguous ideal (Iser 186). The Chorus provides a sense of individual responsibility
in creating an image; a product of the imagination and not a fact of history. The Chorus bridges the
gap between the past and the present. The spectator is encouraged to walk on an illusionary plain with
Henry and share in his experiences.
The communication by the actors is emphasized in this production, as there will be little in terms of
stage decor. The Chorus is a dictionary, so to speak, for this new method of a raw and pure rendition
of Henry V. It is explicit about how much stage and actors will do, how much the audience must do for
itself (Beauman 6).

The Term Nigga Is Used By The Younger Members Of The...
The term nigga is commonly used by the younger members of the American society. The term derives
from the racial slur nigger that was used to stigmatize African Americans. Nigger is a noun in the
English language. Nigger is said to be derived from neger which was the English pronunciation of
negre in French which is derived from negro , the Spanish word for black. There is a lot of
controversy around the distinction between the words nigga and nigger. Many feel both are derogative
terms. Some African Americans only find offense if the word is used by someone not particularly in
their ethnic group. While others feel the word is still hurtful and disrespectful. The word nigga is often
considered a term of endearment among the young ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If it was used in a friendly manner as in to identify a friend the word must not be used. For example,
in today s time many rappers in the music industry embrace the word and use it casually. Hip Hop
culture has influenced the mainstream use of this belittling term. The problem with this is that it can
only make racial slurs more socially acceptable. Some people take offense to the use of this word
while others don t care. For instance, in 2001 when Jennifer Lopez released her song I m real featuring
Ja Rule she used the word nigga in the song. For some people they honestly did not mind, but the
majority of people took offense to her use of the word and went crazy about it. She took a lot of flak
for the use of the word although she did not intend to offend anyone she still did because the word is a
racial slur. The only acceptable time the word should be used is to educate people on the historical
context of the word. The history behind the word has a strong shadow over the word which will never
fade, which is why people ought to never forget the history behind the term.
When the Atlantic Slave trade began the term nigger was used to describe black people. Throughout
history, most minority groups were branded by degrading terms. Nigger was and still is a term of
disrespect. Slavery contorted the term from the Spanish definition to its dark degrading hateful insult
for African Americans. This slur

The San Joaquin River Valley Project represents a comprehensive long term effort to restore the flow

The project has not yet fully achieve its goals, but it contains approved results for future
manufacturing. After the approval of the project they have prepared for it and since then they have had
a lot of successes. One of the successes appeared as the salmon experiment, 1,200 salmon got released
for the first time in the river and over 40% of these fish successfully migrated 150 miles downstream
of the river. The project will cost approximately 892 million dollars with an additional 188 million
dollars in levee improvements. The followers of this project believe that the money has continued well
spend but not necessarily true. The project continues in the process, but it has displayed working
characteristics for some of the salmon s migration to different parts of the river. The current drought
California suffers affected the project since it caused a delay. Farmers and near residents think the
project needs reevaluation to put priorities first. Since California expects El Nino projections appear to
affect the San Joaquin Project since we would get more water and easier to continue the project. After
reading multiple articles and gathering research my viewpoint of this plan does not change. I believe
California shouldn t waste the money they have to solve simple problems when they have bigger
problems to solve. Restoring the river affects

Personality Assessment Of Carl G. Jung And Isabel Briggs...
Personality Assessment Paper After completing the assignment for this week, I found that I am of the
introverted, sensing, thinking, and perceiving (ISTP) personality type. This personality type from the
work of Carl G. Jung and Isabel Briggs Myers more commonly known as the Myers Briggs type
indicator suggest a few factors in my personality. The first of these is introversion. Even though this is
often thought of as being a quite type or wallflower, the picture is incomplete. Introversion from
MBIT means dealing with ideas and reacting to those ideas in one s own mind. For the introverted the
large group is less desirable then working alone or with a handful of people they fell comfortable
around. The second marker of the ISTP is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Identifying strength and weakness in any individual is just that, an individual thought. Because people
with an ISTP personality type are drawn toward the action, tuned in to their environment and prefer to
be hands on, there strengths can be ambiguous. Among these preferences in my personality I have
identified three distinct strengths. The first of these strengths is a natural ability to focus on the
surrounding environment. This connection in day to day physical tasks makes athletics and
coordination between mind and body a relatively easy function. The second trait identifiable in me is
the way I interpret information. With an ability to fond connections between cause and effect, and then
apply logic to decode new information the world becomes less of a mystery and can be explained
through this strength. The third and most prominent strength is in problem solving. Delineating from
other natural talents of observation and focus, getting to the root of a problem is often very easy. This
is especially true when faced with a crisis or emergency situation and taking steps to mitigate the
problem is the most important priority. After selecting two other personality types and identifying
there top three strength it is clear that there are some striking dissimilarities in both the exact opposite
of an ISTP personality which is a (ENFJ) and even types with similarities like the (ESFP). The
extrovert, intuitive, felling, judging type has

Indian Ocean Basin Trade
Changes and Continuities of Indian Ocean Trade The Indian Ocean Basin trade was the most
significant trade after the collapse of the Mongols and the Silk Road. During the period circa 600 to
1450 CE the Indian Ocean Basin trade developed into the most important exchange of products and
ideas in the world. During the period the area had numerous technological and religious
developments, however the trade itself didn t change during this time as far as geography and policies

To begin there were many changes during the eight hundred fifty years following 600 CE. In the

The trade of gold, ivory, gems, silver, and manufactured goods made this trade lucrative for Portugal.
The profit margin were so large that it was worth it to conquer the territory and ship it back around the

navy and policy controlling the trade Portugal was not only able to insert itself into the trade but it was
also able to take up glorified piracy in order to increase its already sizable profits. Because of the
continuities of the trade that allowed it to go on for more than eight centuries it was also destroyed by

In conclusion, the Indian Ocean was the definitive trading zone of the world from the early to mid

Ecocriticism In The Secret Garden By Frances Hodgson Burnett
Introduction
All writers and their critics are stuck with language, and although we cast nature and culture as
opposites, in fact they constantly mingle, like water and soil in a flowing stream (Howarth 69).by
reading this quotation we indicate that nature and culture are essential in human life. In other words,
humanity and environment are one unit, each of them supplements the other. Ecocriticism could be
defined as a literary discipline which seeks to examine the intersections of culture, literature, and
ecology. It also seeks to infer the relationships among nature, the natural processes themselves, and
human conception of the natural world . This paper will regard Frances Hodgson Burnett s novel The
Secret Garden as an ecocritical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the principle of equality the state lines between human and animal are arbitrary and
irrelevant. Moreover, the principle of equality utters that everyone is entitled to equal moral
consideration, irrespective of family, race, nation or species (Garred 137). Therefore, ecocriticism
agreed with the liberationist on the subjectivity and the borders between human and non human
creatures. Hence, the assessment of the way that humans and non human cohabit in the intra textual
system is what the paper seeks to introduce.
The paper will present the role of animals within The Secret Garden. Animals characters are very
essential in the novel and this underscore the interaction between human and animal, which is a
domain in studying and reading any ecocritical text. The paper will discuss two points associated with

Number Three In Dante s Inferno Essay
Number three has a significant role throughout the whole comedy Inferno. The poem is written in a
special form which contains exactly three lines. This can be related to Dante s belief in a special
power of the number three in Christian tradition.
Also, number three has a significant meaning in the content of the comedy. In the beginning Dante
meets three animals a leopard, a lion and she wolf, those beasts represent three types of sins.
When Dante and Virgil get closer to Lucifer, they can see that he has three heads, also in each mouth
he has three greatest sinners in history Judas, Brutus and Cassius.
In the first Canto, Dante tells his story that after he reached the middle of his life journey, he once got
lost in the forest and woke to find myself [Dante] in a dark wood (Inferno, Canto I, 2). Dante got
scared of being alone in the dark until he saw a light. After he rested tired body there for awhile , he

But once you learned to limit yourself by taking on the opinion of an outside source, you are the one
that keeps it alive. If you have a healthy brain, whatever you think is possible for yourself or whatever
you think is not possible for yourself is now on you. Your limitations are self imposed.
Isn t It Time To Question Your Limitations
Most people have the habit of responding to a limiting thought or belief with automatic acceptance; it
is a mental reflex. Why? Somewhere along the way they learned from others that they were limited in
terms of who they could become or what they could do. Isn t it time to notice when you do that and to
begin to question what you learned long ago and now hold as the truth about you? Just because you
believe something now doesn t mean you have to believe it five minutes from now.
When you feel stuck or held back from something you want to change or to begin being or doing,
identify the self imposed belief that tells you you are limited in some way. Ask yourself the simple
question How do I know I can t? When your subconscious gives you the automatic answer, don t just
accept it. Keep probing. Keep the discussion going until you realize the limitation is an illusion.

The Lottery Offers A Wonderful Opportunity
The lottery offers a wonderful opportunity to possibly win millions of dollars. While this might seems
amazing, it might not be as wonderful as imagined. In fact, maybe even the opposite might true as
stated by numerous studies and research done since the 1970s. Lotteries have been reported to have
possibly started all the way back in the Han Dynasty early 200 B.C. The first official record of a
public lottery was in 1434 from the Dutch town of Sluis. The original idea of the lottery was to help
the lower class and fortify townships. It was not until the 1600s when the more modern form of the
lottery came about. Where one would buy a ticket for a small amount with the possibility to win a big
cash purse. Later, around 1890 much scrutiny and distrust surrounded the lottery which eventually led
to the United States stopping sales of tickets and made lotteries illegal. This was in effect until after
World War II and the iconic modern lotteries started to come back into everyday lives. At first it was
just separate state lotteries, but eventually in late 80s and early 90s interstate lotteries emerged which
include the famous Mega Million, originally named The Big Game, and Powerball. Some of the
success for the recent lotteries goes to the more credible system of checking and organizing tickets
called the Marksense system. The allure of the lottery is for a small charge, usually $1 or $2, there is
the possibility of winning millions. While the large majority of those who buy

The Effect Of Soft Tissue Constituent Materials
The goal of this thesis is to identify the effect of soft tissue constituent materials in tissue classification
for the application of breast cancer detection. Hyperelastic parameters may be essential in estimating
large deformation in tissue for the purpose of surgical procedures such as breast brachytherapy. These
properties of human soft tissue play a significant role in diagnosis, screening, and monitoring of
cancer (O Hagan Samani,
2009). On the other hand, elastography is based mainly on the concept of tissue reactions (linear and
nonlinear) to an external source of load such as compression.
Moreover, in most breast examination methods, compression is applied to help detect lesions. In CBE
and BSE, the examiner applies a compressive load to the breast to investigate stiff regions and must
sometimes exert a large deformation to feel lesions in depth. Mammography also uses compression to
reduce breast thickness. Additionally, compressive behavior of human breast biopsies obtained
through lumpectomy (the surgical procedure to remove a cancer or non cancer breast lump with some
surrounding tissues) is of interest to the cancer research agencies in order to distinguish the
mechanical nature of anomalies of the taken biopsy. Despite of the importance of compressive loading
and its contribution to hyperelastic characterization of tissue in

applications of cancer detection, few studies have focused on the behavior of tissue components in
response to compression. The main

Teenage pregnancy has declined steadily over the past 40 years, however in the past decade the rate of pregnancy among adolescents is rising. Restrictive contraceptive legislation such as abstinence only education, mandatory waiting periods, parental notification laws, or Medicaid funding restrictions could all play a part in the increase of pregnancy in teenagers. One study found funding for abstinence only education programs were linked to increased birth rates among black and white adolescents (Yang Gaydos, 2010). Another study found restrictive contraceptive legislation resulted in higher unintended pregnancy rates among adolescents. The implication of this review is state and federal policies should focus on improving education regarding contraception use and forming policies which improve access to abortion. Keywords: teenage pregnancy, unintended pregnancy, contraception legislation Effects of Restrictive Contraceptive Legislation on Unintentional Teenage Pregnancy Legislation dictates the degree of access teenagers have to contraception and in the event of pregnancy, termination services. In Veris late facies, after using a bird call as an introductory, a slowly rising melody depicted a reawakening from a cold winter. The sound of triangle acts like symbol of brightness. In Ego sum abbas, this is a drunken piece, with the percussion, brass, male choir and baritone, it sounds just as absurd as expected. • 17. Character Analysis Of King Kong King Kong is exciting screenplay that does a great job at demonstrating what the characters are feeling. When the writers wanted to illustrate fear, they do so by painting an image terror, and makes it relatable. By making a scene relatable, it helps with the understanding of the character s motives, and gives insight to the kind of person that character is. By having a complex villain such as King Kong, one battles the urge to root for Kong, as well as wanting him to ceased. While writers do an overall great job with the development of the characters, where they lacks is in love story between Darrow and Driscoll. By not successfully developing the relationship between Darrow and Driscoll in the beginning, love between the two feels rushed, which therefore makes it challenging to care about their relationship. Overall King Kong is a well written screenplay, that shows does a great job at showing what the characters are feeling throughout. Where the writers of the screenplay succeed is in illustrating the emotion that the character is feeling at that moment. If one does not do this successfully, it makes it hard to invest in the characters, and understand the situation of the scene. An example of this is when Carl and the ship crew approach Skull Island. As they are approaching the undiscovered island, the writers describe this thick fog that the characters enter (47). By doing this, the writers demonstrates imagery to describe the dark and eerie place. As the characters are unable to see through the fog, they start to become afraid, as they fear of the unknown. An example of this being expressed is when one of the ship crew members Hayes yells captain, you don t know where the hell you re going (49)! Panic and terror possess the characters, and the writers do a great of showing it. The writers do a great job with the development of King Kong and making him a complex character. At first, King Kong appears to be the stereotypical monster/villain that only kills and destroys, but later in the story, King Kong shows a different side of him that a character such as himself usually does not display. After a full year of the class, I found that while this was demonstrated to be true, the real challenge came from learning how to channel my self motivation and intrinsic passion as opposed to external pressures like harsh due dates and grading. • 21. World War One ( Wwi ) World War One (WWI) is an important event in history and impacted history in a great way for four years during 1914 to 1918. It is known as the Great War because the French, British, and Germans did not know there would be another world war in history. The events occurring through August and July of 1914 had catalysts to help the war build up its stockpile. The war was a conflict between the Allied Powers (France, Russia, Britain, Italy and the United States), and the Central Powers (Germany, Austria Hungary and the Ottoman Empire). The main causes of WWI was the rise in nationalism, which was very strong in Germany becoming a leading factor, economic imperialism, and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in 1914 who was heir to the Austro Hungarian throne. In Germany, William II, the King of Prussia and emperor of Germany, was not a good leader, but he exhibited aggressiveness. The range of its height is between 6 10 feet tall and it is said to be either brownish or reddish in color. There are many reasons to why people believe in Bigfoot. The most obvious reason is because of the proof . For hundreds of years people from different nations have claimed to have spotted or found evidence of the beast out in the wild. Also, there has never been actual Bigfoot bones or fossils found anywhere. Basically, there isn t enough any solid proof to support the fact that Bigfoot actually exists. Personally, I do not believe that Bigfoot exists. Essay on The Flawed King in Shakespeare s Henry V The Flawed King in Shakespeare s Henry V To turn Henry V into a play glorifying war or a play condemning war would be to presume Shakespeare s intentions too much. He does both of these and more in his recount of the historical battle of Agincourt. Although Shakespeare devotes the play to the events leading to war, he simultaneously gives us insight into the political and private life of a king. It is this unity of two distinct areas that has turned the play into a critical no man s land, acrimoniously contested and periodically disfigured by opposing barrages of intellectual artillery (Taylor 1). Approaching the play through mere historical reconstruction limits the potential for insight into society and threatens to create a stagnant historical account. Although the situation to which the play refers no longer exists, a connection can be made between spectator and stage. The Chorus facilitates this connection. Shakespeare obviously intended that the Chorus help the audience visualize the proceedings of history. The Chorus has a dynamic role in inviting each audience member on a journey through time. They have to assemble for themselves the model ruler of Henry, in accordance with the instructions given, for it would be falsification of history to pretend that [the play] could contain a clear cut and unambiguous ideal (Iser 186). The Chorus provides a sense of individual responsibility in creating an image; a product of the imagination and not a fact of history. The Chorus bridges the gap between the past and the present. The spectator is encouraged to walk on an illusionary plain with Henry and share in his experiences. The communication by the actors is emphasized in this production, as there will be little in terms of stage decor. Hip Hop culture has influenced the mainstream use of this belittling term. The problem with this is that it can only make racial slurs more socially acceptable. Some people take offense to the use of this word while others don t care. For instance, in 2001 when Jennifer Lopez released her song I m real featuring Ja Rule she used the word nigga in the song. For some people they honestly did not mind, but the majority of people took offense to her use of the word and went crazy about it. She took a lot of flak for the use of the word although she did not intend to offend anyone she still did because the word is a racial slur. The only acceptable time the word should be used is to educate people on the historical context of the word. The history behind the word has a strong shadow over the word which will never fade, which is why people ought to never forget the history behind the term. When the Atlantic Slave trade began the term nigger was used to describe black people. Throughout history, most minority groups were branded by degrading terms. Nigger was and still is a term of disrespect. Slavery contorted the term from the Spanish definition to its dark degrading hateful insult for African Americans. This slur ... After reading the article, River Plan Too Fishy for my Taste Buds by Bill McEwen I chose and decided to use this article because it has plenty of reasonable facts. Bill McEwen emerged as veteran journalist who has worked in various positions for the Bee since 1980. He grew up in the community and knows how everything works. After the approval of the project they have prepared for it and since then they have had a lot of successes. One of the successes appeared as the salmon experiment, 1,200 salmon got released for the first time in the river and over 40% of these fish successfully migrated 150 miles downstream of the river. The project will cost approximately 892 million dollars with an additional 188 million dollars in levee improvements. The followers of this project believe that the money has continued well spend but not necessarily true. The project continues in the process, but it has displayed working characteristics for some of the salmon s migration to different parts of the river. The current drought California suffers affected the project since it caused a delay. Farmers and near residents think the project needs reevaluation to put priorities first. Since California expects El Nino projections appear to affect the San Joaquin Project since we would get more water and easier to continue the project. After reading multiple articles and gathering research my viewpoint of this plan does not change. I believe California shouldn t waste the money they have to solve simple problems when they have bigger problems to solve. Restoring the river affects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Personality Assessment Paper After completing the assignment for this week, I found that I am of the introverted, sensing, thinking, and perceiving (ISTP) personality type. This personality type from the work of Carl G. Jung and Isabel Briggs Myers more commonly known as the Myers Briggs type indicator suggest a few factors in my personality. The first of these is introversion. Even though this is often thought of as being a quite type or wallflower, the picture is incomplete. Introversion from MBIT means dealing with ideas and reacting to those ideas in one s own mind. For the introverted the large group is less desirable then working alone or with a handful of people they fell comfortable around. The second marker of the ISTP is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Identifying strength and weakness in any individual is just that, an individual thought. Because people with an ISTP personality type are drawn toward the action, tuned in to their environment and prefer to be hands on, there strengths can be ambiguous. Among these preferences in my personality I have identified three distinct strengths. The first of these strengths is a natural ability to focus on the surrounding environment. This connection in day to day physical tasks makes athletics and coordination between mind and body a relatively easy function. The second trait identifiable in me is the way I interpret information. With an ability to fond connections between cause and effect, and then apply logic to decode new information the world becomes less of a mystery and can be explained through this strength. The third and most prominent strength is in problem solving. Delineating from other natural talents of observation and focus, getting to the root of a problem is often very easy. This is especially true when faced with a crisis or emergency situation and taking steps to mitigate the problem is the most important priority. After selecting two other personality types and identifying there top three strength it is clear that there are some striking dissimilarities in both the exact opposite of an ISTP personality which is a (ENFJ) and even types with similarities like the (ESFP). • 33. Ecocriticism In The Secret Garden By Frances Hodgson Burnett Introduction All writers and their critics are stuck with language, and although we cast nature and culture as opposites, in fact they constantly mingle, like water and soil in a flowing stream (Howarth 69).by reading this quotation we indicate that nature and culture are essential in human life. In other words, humanity and environment are one unit, each of them supplements the other. Ecocriticism could be defined as a literary discipline which seeks to examine the intersections of culture, literature, and ecology. But once you learned to limit yourself by taking on the opinion of an outside source, you are the one that keeps it alive. If you have a healthy brain, whatever you think is possible for yourself or whatever you think is not possible for yourself is now on you. Your limitations are self imposed. Isn t It Time To Question Your Limitations Most people have the habit of responding to a limiting thought or belief with automatic acceptance; it is a mental reflex. Why? Somewhere along the way they learned from others that they were limited in terms of who they could become or what they could do. Isn t it time to notice when you do that and to begin to question what you learned long ago and now hold as the truth about you? Just because you believe something now doesn t mean you have to believe it five minutes from now. When you feel stuck or held back from something you want to change or to begin being or doing, identify the self imposed belief that tells you you are limited in some way. Ask yourself the simple question How do I know I can t? When your subconscious gives you the automatic answer, don t just accept it. Keep probing. • 37. The Lottery Offers A Wonderful Opportunity The lottery offers a wonderful opportunity to possibly win millions of dollars. While this might seems amazing, it might not be as wonderful as imagined. In fact, maybe even the opposite might true as stated by numerous studies and research done since the 1970s. Lotteries have been reported to have possibly started all the way back in the Han Dynasty early 200 B.C. The first official record of a public lottery was in 1434 from the Dutch town of Sluis. The original idea of the lottery was to help the lower class and fortify townships. It was not until the 1600s when the more modern form of the lottery came about. Where one would buy a ticket for a small amount with the possibility to win a big cash purse. Later, around 1890 much scrutiny and distrust surrounded the lottery which eventually led to the United States stopping sales of tickets and made lotteries illegal. This was in effect until after World War II and the iconic modern lotteries started to come back into everyday lives. At first it was just separate state lotteries, but eventually in late 80s and early 90s interstate lotteries emerged which include the famous Mega Million, originally named The Big Game, and Powerball. Some of the success for the recent lotteries goes to the more credible system of checking and organizing tickets called the Marksense system. The allure of the lottery is for a small charge, usually $1 or $2, there is the possibility of winning millions. While the large majority of those who buy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. The Effect Of Soft Tissue Constituent Materials The goal of this thesis is to identify the effect of soft tissue constituent materials in tissue classification for the application of breast cancer detection. Hyperelastic parameters may be essential in estimating large deformation in tissue for the purpose of surgical procedures such as breast brachytherapy. These properties of human soft tissue play a significant role in diagnosis, screening, and monitoring of cancer (O Hagan Samani, 2009). On the other hand, elastography is based mainly on the concept of tissue reactions (linear and nonlinear) to an external source of load such as compression. Moreover, in most breast examination methods, compression is applied to help detect lesions. In CBE and BSE, the examiner applies a compressive load to the breast to investigate stiff regions and must sometimes exert a large deformation to feel lesions in depth. Mammography also uses compression to reduce breast thickness. Additionally, compressive behavior of human breast biopsies obtained through lumpectomy (the surgical procedure to remove a cancer or non cancer breast lump with some surrounding tissues) is of interest to the cancer research agencies in order to distinguish the mechanical nature of anomalies of the taken biopsy. Despite of the importance of compressive loading and its contribution to hyperelastic characterization of tissue in 9 applications of cancer detection, few studies have focused on the behavior of tissue components in response to compression.
