Parkour In College
In this paper I am going to write about stuff I like. First I m going to talk about parkour. If you
don t know parkour is an activity that requires a lot of endurance and agility. The main point of
parkour is to get to point A to point B the fastest... while looking cool.I ve been working on
parkour a lot in the woods, in my house, at school but I have yet to master it. There is an
academy in Minnesota but it s like an hour drive so my mom won t take me. The academy works
on fighting and running away skills. I ve got pretty good at parkour but I still need to learn how to
do flips off ledges and stuff. I sometimes think about living in a big city and doing parkour or stunts.
If it hasn t been clear yet but I want to be a stunt man when I grow ... Show more content on

If you don t know D D is a role playing game where you can do whatever you want. First you create
a character and you can make how strong you are or if you re a wizard or a rogue or a knight. You
play it with dice and a dungeon master. The dungeon master controls the game with their
imagination, like if you re walking through a forest the dungeon master can say a pack of goblins
attack you. How you play is let s say you see a pond with a frog on a rock, what do you do? You
could kill the frog by throwing your sword at it but that s a tricky shot so you take a twenty sided
die and you ll have to roll a ten or higher. The main point of the game is to do an objective like kill
an evil wizard or free a world from an evil overlord. You can basically do whatever you want as
long as the physics of your character allow it. My character is a rogue that used to be a criminal, i
m very acrobatic and I am awesome.
The last thing I am going to talk about is my social standing. Now I wouldn t say I m in the Emo
group but at our age it s the closest thing to it. Now I wouldn t say i m emo I am more scene.
Scene is a group like emo but it s more colorful and more happy than emo. My family has kind of
inherited the emo friend group phase, we all have been in the emo group at some point in our

Ancient Sumer s History
Sumer s history began long before humans invented writing to record historical events. Much of
what we know of pre historic Sumer was found in archeological ruins, which told of a people who
gradually switched from a hunting and gathering society to a settled, agriculture based culture. As
agriculture could produce a surplus of food, people found they could devote their time to other
work besides that in the fields. A surplus of food could also sustain a larger population, which
congregated at first in small villages. As time went on, many small villages became the first cities,
one of them being Eridu, according to the Mesopotamians themselves. Scholars, however, consider
Uruk to be the first city in history. Other Sumerian cities include... Show more content on

came the first villages and the beginning of towns. By 3500 B.C. the Sumerian city states began
forming, all centered around temples to the gods. By this time, Sumerian people had invented
writing, the wheel, irrigation and water control and sailboats. One of the names for Mesopotamia is
the cradle of civilization, as the land between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers was the birthplace of
civilization as we know it.
Sumer s city states were first ruled by priest kings known as Ensi. As society grew more complex,
however, and city states began battling over land and water rights, a secular kingship began, with
the rule of a city state in the hands of Lugal, or strong man. The Lugal supervised wars and
oversaw important trade with other lands. Trade brought in goods such as metal ores that were
unobtainable in Sumer itself. It was probably the necessity of record keeping in long distance trade
that spurred the development of cuneiform writing.
While the archeological record reveals the life of common Sumerians, the Sumerian King List
provides some detail of Sumer s kings. The King List, a cuneiform document that lists and briefly
describes all the kings of the region beginning with Etana of Kish, who ruled c. 3100 B.C. A scribe
in the city of Lagash wrote the document around 2100 B.C. at the instigation of a king who wished
to legitimate his rule by connecting his name with the known kings and their great

Now That This Paper Has Evaluated Aquinas’S Summa Contra
Now that this paper has evaluated Aquinas s Summa Contra Gentiles, it will move on to evaluate
his next important work. In the years 1265 1274 Aquinas wrote what is considered one of his most
prominent works, The Summa Theologiae. In Summa Theologiae (also known as Suma Theologica
or simply Summa), Aquinas gave five proofs for the existenceof God. This paper will first tell why
these proofs are necessary then describe the proofs in themselves. These proofs are necessary
because Aquinas believed that the existence of God is not self evident. A self evident proposition
is one in which the predicate forms part of what is meant by the subject (PUT, 103). Meaning that
God exists is not self evident because we cannot grasp divine essence... Show more content on

Therefore anything that is in the process of changing cannot change itself so one thing is changed
by another which in turn is changed by yet another (Clark, 122). Eventually, this stream of change
has to stop somewhere or else there would be no first cause of change and consequently no
subsequent causes. So when we come to the first cause that is not changed by anything else,
Aquinas believed it is what we understand to be God (Clark, 122 123).
The second proof is derived from the nature of causation. Aquinas thought that in the natural world
we find causes in a natural order of succession. We never see something causing itself because if
we did then it would be pre existing and this would be impossible (Clark, 123). Every first cause
impacts an intermediate (there can be many intermediates) which then impacts a last. You cannot
take out any one cause without getting rid of its effects (Clark, 123). So you cannot take out the
first cause without losing the intermediates and last causes that follow. Thus Aquinas thought that
we must suppose a first cause, which is God (Clark, 123). The third proof addresses the issue of
what is unnecessary and what is unnecessary. Our experience has shown us that in life there are
things that are necessary and things that are unnecessary. Things that are

There was no wind and no clouds that morning, just still air and cold sunshine. The hair in my
nostrils froze almost immediately. When I took a deep breath, my lungs only filled up halfway.
I opened the tailgate to excited whines and whimpers. I never go skiing without Jackson and
Hailey: my two best friends, my yin and yang of dogs. Some of you might know Jackson. He s
the oversized sheepdog and something else with the great big nose and the bark that will shatter
glass. He gets out and about more than I do. People I ve never seen before come by my house daily
and call him by name. He s all grace, and he s tireless; he won t go skiing with me unless I let
him lead. Hailey is not so graceful, and her body seems in constant indecision when she runs.
When we ski she stays behind me, and on the downhills she tries to sneak rides on my skis.
The dogs ran circles in the chest high snow while I inventoried my backpack one more time to
make sure I had everything I needed. My sleeping bag, my Thermarest, my stove, Alex s bivvy
sack, matches, lighting paste, flashlight, knife. I brought three pairs of long underwear tops and

Book Study Update
Book Study Update The book that was chosen for my book study was Blythe s(1999), Akenfield:
Portrait of an English Village. I have chosen this book because of my many connections to
England. Several years ago, I was provided the opportunity to undertake graduate studies at
Westfield House, and attached House of Fitzwilliam College which is part of Cambridge
University. During my time in Cambridge, I was able to travel the country and visit many of
the places my ancestors called home. Having a cousin who still resides in Kettering, due North
of London, and parents who have just retired from living in Wales, I have a long appreciation for
the people and heritage of this small country. It is these appreciations that have lead me to my
choice of Blythe s (1999) book. After having ordered the book through Amazon, I finally received
my copy on Friday. I have been able to navigate through the introduction and first two chapters of
the book. Akenfield, is not the name of an actual village, but is rather a pen name given to this
East Anglian village as a means of protecting the identities of those involved in the study (Blythe,
1999). Blythe describes his book as quest for the voice of Akenfield, Suffolk through a talk that
covers half a century of farming slump and the beginning of what is being called the second
agricultural revolution (Blythe,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Use of Mathematics in the Medical Field Essay
The medical field is a very interesting career field. There are hundreds of different occupations
within this field, including anything from saving a fragile newborn baby s life to prescribing
antibiotics to a relatively healthy adult. No two occupations are exactly alike, but each one is
equally important. Although there are several job variations in medicine, they all have at least one
thing in common. Every occupation within the medical field relies heavily on mathematics.
Elementary mathematics, geometry and algebra are all obviously crucial to advancing in new
technology, saving lives and curing diseases. However, most people do not realize the importance

Similarly to doctors and pharmacists, nurses also rely on the metric system and are required to
convert measurements quickly. Many nurses deal with this daily through calculating IV drip
rates. Most IV bags contain one thousand cubic centimeters of fluid. A doctor may order his/her
nurse to administer one thousand cubic centimeters every 8 hours. This may not seem too
difficult, but in order to do this a nurse has to precisely calculate the drip rate of the machine so
that the patient gets the required amount of medication in the time frame the doctor suggests. In
contrast, a smaller bag of IV fluid may require instruction to give a patient five hundred
milligrams every thirty minutes (Boyd). Before calculating the drip rate of the small bag, a nurse
would have to convert the original cubic centimeters to milligrams. Just as important as
conversions, ratios and proportions also play a huge role in the medical field. Nurses use ratios
and proportions when giving medication based on their patient s weight and height. A doctor may
give the order 25 mcg/kg/min. If a patient weighs 114 pounds, how many milligrams of medication
should he/she be given per hour? To figure this, his/her nurse would begin by changing micrograms
into milligrams. If one microgram is equal to 0.001 milligrams, the nurse can find the amount of
milligrams in twenty five micrograms by setting up a

been raised in a musical family, was an amateur astronomer who enjoyed charting the sky in

Disadvantages Of Enlightened Despotism
Some of the traits most associated with enlightened despotism include many types of reforms
inspired by the Enlightenment made by absolute monarchs, these reforms were of social,
economic, legal, and educational, and religious tolerance. These reforms did not allow for the
question of their central power, or of the accepted social class order. I believe this form of
government to an extent could work with today s political climate, as it has been going. Although,
rule, entirely of the monarch, would eventually fall, and absolute power would bring mostly
disadvantages. Religious toleration is something that is needed within all societies, as it should be

Information Technology Issues And Procedures
The information technology issues and procedures involved in ensuring a successful business
contingency plan revolve around the effective system analysis and design process. The phases of
system analysis and design involved include preliminary study, feasibility study, system analysis,
system design, coding/programming, testing, implementation and finally maintenance. Preliminary
study is the first step, and it involves just a brief study of the business system to be put in place.
This enables the developers to have an overview of how the physical system will be. Once the
management approves the preliminary study, feasibility study commences. This process estimates
the operational, economical, technical and scheduled effectiveness of the system to users. System
analysis involves breaking down the entire business process into smaller processes and doing a
detailed study on them. This is with a view to understanding how information flows to improve the
system processes (Williams, Hardy Holgate, 2013). System design is the most vital phase where
the system analysis logic is implemented into a physical system. System design process
commences with the general design; where costs of the system building blocks are estimated. Then
finally the detailed design process is implemented which involves designing output and input of the
system data. Programmers then code the system design into a workable code Testing then follows;
where a system test run is done to identify and remove

Environment Values And Values
The environment impacts human beings negatively and positively in many aspects. The
environment provides humans many things from things like water, air, nutrients, water cycling for
agriculture and disease prevention or recreation. These things are give to humans for free, so why
do not we value the environment. The environment provides us with many things which we need
to survive on day to day basis, which is one of the reason why I valueanother environment. The
second reason being the instrumental value, meaning that being in and seeing nature bring people
satisfaction. To me being nature helps me keep my mental wellness positive if there are any issues
or negative problems, which I am unable to resolve. Being in nature gives me that satisfaction and
promotes me to solve them. Second being the intrinsic valuethat nature can stand alone. I believe
this because humans came to earth, environment existed before. The environment could sustain and
preserve it self before, it is due to humans activities that is destroying the environment.
We all acquire beliefs and values from many sources. We all react differently to life experiences
which ultimately influences the way in which we see and interpret the world around us. The
following factors of schooling system, parents and government/ health safety sector, have
influenced me to the see environment in such perspective. The first factor is schooling system
because education plays a big role in a person s perception, behaviour

Rory Gilmore Character Analysis
When I think of a character that is like me I think of the character Rory Gilmore from the 2000
tv show Gilmore Girls. She starts as a 16 year old girl who dreams of getting into Harvard
University. Rory works so hard to keep her grades up and to keep a healthy relationship with her
mother. When she faces difficult situations in life, she remains kind and dependent. She is always
there for her best friends, relationships, and her family. Lorelai Gilmore is the mother of Rory.
Rory s relationship with her mother is the kind of relationship I have with my mother. They have
always had the same taste in music, movies, and lots of coffee. Rory depends on her mother just
as much as her mother depends on her. When Rory was born it was only her

My Most Memorable Moment In My Life
The definition of fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is
dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. One of my most memorable moments of my life was
the first time I went to Disney Land I was terrified but because of this trip I found out how to face
my fears.
The loud sounds of flying planes over me reminded me one of the scariest things I ve seen on tv
crashing in a plane. I didn t want to even go near the plane but I had to my parents paid
thousands for me to go on this trip so I stepped forward on the flimsy bridge that connects the
loud airport to the metal coffin plane. I knew I was a wimp but I had enough respect to do what
my parents wanted me to do. Flight to Las Angeles now departing. Were those the last words I
would hear besides me screaming to my death? The plane took off it wasn t bad at all maybe I
wouldn t die but time will tell. After an hour on the plane I realized I was going to be ok. Two
hours had passed and I really enjoyed this then over the loud speaker, Now landing in Las
Angeles please tighten seat belts as we land. The pilot stated. The landing, the death of me? But
when we touched the ground it wasn t bad felt a mild bump that was all more fun than scary. On
the way off the plane I looked into the cockpit that might be me one day. That was the day I came
over my fear of planes and actually made me want to be a pilot soaring over the skies seeing the
tiny people this became my dream.
We checked into our hotel and stayed their for the night thinking about the experince I had on
the plane, and thinking about the rides I would go on tomorrow. Most kids would be excited
and thrilled but my ten year old self a coward self was scared. The next day we went on a bus to
the front gates of Disney Land. I entered very anxious for if I would puke or as my mind seemed
set on dyeing. They said this place was magical I made up this stupid thing where if I would step
on certain tiles on the road I would be fine. I stepped up to Splash Mountain still only stepping on
the red tiles of the road. I climbed the walk way to the top of the mountain and stepped into the log
flume ride. I thought I might drown in the foot of water fall off the ride and

Lord Byron And Childe Harold s Pilgrimage By Samuel Taylor...
If you want an inside glimpse into the man that Lord Byron was, all you need to do is pick up
some of his prose. In any of his pieces, there s a raw sense of emotion and vulnerability that no
other Romantic shows. William Blake wrote of nature and religion. William Wordsworth wrote of
the beauty of nature and how it made him feel in hindsight. Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote of the
supernatural and a sense of peace that eventually fades away. All of those Romantic poets used a
piece of their life in their works, whether large or small, but not to the extent that Lord Byron did.
The way that Byron pours his personal life into the prose without overtly putting himself in there,
putting in emotion and internal dialogue without being too... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Another important part in Childe Harold s Pilgrimage, Byron unknowingly gives the first
glimpse into what would later be referred to as the Byronic Hero. The Byronic Hero is usually a
man who is smart and cunning. He s sophisticated, moody, and anti authority. He s an arrogant,
cynical exile who knew himself the most unfit Of men to heard with Man; with whom he held
Little in common (lines 100 102) and engages in self destructive behavior including sex, drugs,
and alcohol. He was Proud though in desolation; which could find A life within itself, to breathe
without mankind (lines 107 108) which shows that the Byronic hero did not need anyone else.
While this describes most of Byron s characters, it also describes clichГ©d love interests in
modern day teen novels and a classic trope in film and television. By describing himself and
drawing upon himself for inspiration, Byron created something so iconic and unwavering that,
very likely, will never die down. While Byron is himself the original Byronic Hero, other
Romantics did not follow his footsteps: a fever at the core, Fatal to him who bears, to all who ever
bore, (lines 377 378) most Byronic Heroes die relatively young, in a blaze of flames and rebellious
greatness. Blake and Wordsworth died at 70 and 80 years of age, respectively. Byron, however, died
at the age of 36 fighting in

Zora Neale Hurston Essay
On March 21, 1924, the National Urban League, spearheaded by Charles Johnson, held a dinner
to introduce new literary talent to New York City s black community. This dinner party resulted
in the Survey Graphic, a magazine whose attention was upon social and cultural pluralism, to
publish a special Harlem edition, which would feature the works of Harlem s black writers and
was to be edited by Alain Locke. Locke, a literary scholar, black philosopher, professor and
authority on black culture, later expanded the Harlem special edition of the Survey Graphic into
and anthology he titled The New Negro. Soon, the very cultural movement Survey Graphic hoped
to shine light upon would be recognized as the New Negro Movement but later this... Show more

At the age of three John Hurston moved the family to Eatonville, where he would become mayor
of the small town of 125. Eatonville was like no other town in the United States during the last
years of the Nineteenth century (Hemenway). In 1863, Eatonville was one of the first all black
towns to be chartered after the emancipation proclamation and in 1887 was the first of these
towns to be incorporated. Her childhood here shaped her ideas and reality and, as would later be
seen in her writing, would shape her views on race. The wonderful life in utopian Eatonville was
lost after the death of her mother in 1904, which led the young Zora Neale Hurston away from the
halls of academics and into domestics. Her father quickly remarried a woman that Hurston did
not like and had left the household at age 14, first caring after her brother s children and later as
a domestic servant in Baltimore. It was here in Baltimore where Hurston reentered academia,
enrolling in the Morgan Academy, a High School operated by what is now Morgan State
University. Upon graduation, Hurston enrolled at Howard University in Washington where
Hurston s life would forever be changed. It was at Howard University in 1918 where she met a
young Alain Locke who further inspired her strong pride in black heritage and also inspired her to
pursue a literary career.
In 1921, Hurston published her first short story, John

soldier hear an incoming propeller driven aircraft. That aircraft coming on station to provide Search

Music Influence On Music
Music is an art form and cultural activity that has been enjoyed for centuries by many generations
of humans. As time goes on, music preferences change and along with that, the way individuals
consume music also changes. Firstly, looking at my age group; we were born in the 2000 s and
this is also when the Internet had just come out. The internet and the development of other
technologies, facilitated the shift to digital music consumption for this generation. For example,
Spotify is a music streaming service that was released in 2008 and has become very popular
among this generation. Many other music streaming services have followed Spotify such as Apple
Music, as many consumers like to have access to a wide array of songs through the web, which
helps them avoid the inconvenience of having to download all the music. Also, portable music
players such as the iPod Nanoare really enjoyed by people in my age group, as it allows them to
have access to their music from practically anywhere. Finally, another advancement that has
really been enjoyed by consumers in my age group are wireless headphones. Although stereo
headphones have been around since the 1950 s, products like the Apple s AirPods are popular
with individuals in my age group, as many are looking for wireless electronics. Secondly, looking
at my parent s age group, they had many sources of music consumption. My parents listened to
music through cassettes, CDs, and vinyl s through their childhood to young adulthood. Vinyl
records first came out in the 1950 s, about a decade before my parents were born, but they still
spent a lot of time listening to music through vinyl turntables which they had at their homes. To this
day, they have some at my home, due to the amazing sound quality they deliver. Cassette tapes
were also released in the 1960 s, so my parents also listened to them through cassette players. My
father tells me he owned the Sony Walkmanwhen he was younger, and that was the portable music
device of their time. Finally, when CD s came out in the 1980 s, my parents tell me that they used
them a lot and to this day, still use them to play music when in the car sometimes. Also, in terms of
headphones, they used a fair bit of stereo headphones

Immigration Negative Essay
Immigration is a touchy subject for many people in the United States, and it seems like depending
on which side of the political spectrum one falls there will be some radically different answers
given as to whether it benefits or harms the American economy. This dilemma has been one faced
by new Americans almost as long as the United States has existed, with fierce anti immigrant
feelings extending back to the days of the Know Nothings and beyond. This paper will seek to set
the record right, and will show that immigrationis actually a good thing for the American economy,
providing evidence that is strong enough to convince readers from any side of the political aisle.
Immigrants, traditionally, have filled a key niche in the American economy by taking on roles
that other American citizens might not necessarily want to do, or that they will do but for a
significantly higher pay. It is important to remember that, during the founding days of this
country, and especially of this city, many of the jobs that were needed to actually get things done
were manned by immigrants. Many of these jobs were given to Irish and Italians, men and
women who had come fresh from Europe in search of a new life, and through their contributions
we were able to build and expand in ways never before expected. Great feats like the Empire State
Building, the Transcontinental Railway, and others, were all accomplished as a result of immigrant
labor.
These lower paying jobs are still crucial to

Macromolecules In Research
Polymer is a compound consisting of long chain molecules, each molecule made up of repeating
unit connected together by a covalent bond. Most polymers are based on carbon and are therefore
considered organic chemicals. Groover (2011) suggests that ?the word polymer is derived from
Greek, poly and meros, meaning many and parts, respectively. Some scientists prefer to use the
word macromolecules or large molecules, instead of polymer?. The polymers are created by
connecting many small molecules forms together to make molecules are large. The small units are
called monomers. The atoms in molecules use covalent bond to connect together; and these atoms
are connected a polymer is considered to be the links of the chain. Carraher (2010) states

History Of Air Assault Operations During The Korean War
History of Air Assault
The purpose behind my topic is to simply show a little insight to the beginnings and processes of
how air assault operations came about. The importance aviation played from Korea through
Vietnam and onto the complex battlefield that is being fought today. Throughout history we have
seen what using aviation and specifically utility based aircraft in a role of something more
deliberate such as aerial reconnaissance, troop transport, medevac and logistical missions can do for
the ground force commander and become a combat multiplier.
The military realized the importance of aviation during the Korean Wardue to terrain restrictions
and the ability for men and equipment to move further and move faster to a location regardless
of the terrain, a great asset when it comes to choosing between walking or flying. After Korea and
the beginning of the Vietnam is really when air assault operations took off. The inception of the
Air Cavalry in 1965 turned the tide in what we consider to be the foundation of air assault
operations on a complex battlefield. One of these operations that will be pointed out in this paper is
the battle of Ia Drang Valley which occurred in the fall of 1965 and was received as the first
division air assault victory in recorded history. The scale in which that air assault took place was
unprecedented and had never been seen before.

answer is not so clear cut. Each person s skin, lifestyle and time constraints are different so the
answer will be different from individual to individual. By considering certain key points you can
make sure you select the best type for you.
Straight razors can bring back a feeling of nostalgia and offer a traditional shaving experience. It

They are, however, a lot more convenient to use. Their main benefit is that you can just pick it

your face). The shave is quick and super convenient. Despite this, you can still get a quality
shave; although it won t be as close as a shave from an experienced straight razor user. Their ease
of use is the reason that they are the most popular form of razor today (although they commonly

If you enjoy the act of shaving and love traditional experiences, then providing you have the time

An Example Of Social Observation In The Full House
The social interaction I have chosen to observe is a bit more unorthodox than most, but I feel it
equally as important. The episode in question that I shall be observing is from Season 3 of the
popular sitcom Full House, the episode title being Back to School Blues . Allow me to fill in
some missing details for the setting, the two primary locations that serve as the focal point for
this episode are: The Tanner home, DJ s junior high school (more specifically, the cafeteria), with
a minor focus on backyard lawn golfing tutelage from Mr. Joey Gladstone, and DJ s uncle: Jesse,
the time of day varies between morning to next, with most filler details being skipped. It can be
assumed since the kids are just going back to school, it is most likely on a Monday. One most
prominent example of socialization that I happened to notice in progress was near the end of
the episode, Danny has just stopped his daughter DJ from going to school dressed a certain way,
it is a very tender moment between a father learning to cope with how his little girl is growing
up, but she s not quite an adult, he s learning just as much about the world of teenage parent as
DJ is about fitting in at school with people of a higher age group. A great value is instilled in DJ
during this interaction: be yourself, don t change yourself to suit other people. The effect of this
socialization is almost immediately realized later on when DJ has her second day at school, and
the outcome is a much happier one. Several

Introduction 1.1. The question The most trite yet crucial question in the field of economic growth
and development is: Why are some countries much poorer than others? Traditional neoclassical
growth models, following Solow (1956), Cass (1965) and Koopmans (1965), explain differences
in income per capita in terms of different paths of factor accumulation. In these models, cross
country differences in factor accumulation are due either to differences in saving rates (Solow),
preferences (Cass Koopmans), or other exogenous parameters, such as total factor productivity
growth. In these models there are institutions, for example agents have well defined property rights
and exchange goods and services in markets, but differences in income and growth are not
explained by variation in institutions. The first wave of the more recent incarnations of growth
theory, following Romer (1986) and Lucas (1988) differed in the

Robert Wagner, the state senate majority leader, and Alfred E. Smith created bills which led to
the Factory Investigating Commission Law that passed on June 30, 1911. Outraged citizens
demanded change from Tammany Hall, which was very pro business, only looking out for
people who could give them money. People wanted the government to show that they could
represent all people and all workers, not just the wealthy and privileged. Al Smith and Robert
Wagner set up a factory investigating commission, which brought along many leading reformers,
such as Frances Perkins, who later became the first female Secretary of Labor, Rose

The Factory Investigating Commission had investigations all over the state. They looked at fire

they were amazed to see young girls working twelve to fourteen hour work days. After four years,

Essay On Feral Hog
Feral Hog Release Impacts and Management solutions The devastation of soil, natural habitat and
the destruction of mass farmlands all caused by the notorious feral hogs that has become nature s
neighbor that we have all come to despise. Today I would like to discuss how this resilient species
has impacted the natural environments, and how their population is soaring in numbers; and last I
would like to propose solutions to address the current issues were are facing and how to manage
them. We haven t always endured the dramatic effect of these ghastly creatures. Around three
hundred years ago the Spaniards, during their explorations introduced the hogs to Texas. The hogs
were intended for sustenance and lard for the new settlers here in America. During the fight for
Texas s independence the hogs were left unattended and managed to escape their encasements. That
being said, the hogs began reproducing at an alarming rate; now the feral hog... Show more content

According to the journal article from the University of Nebraska In most states feral swine are
unprotected or classified as an agricultural pest, therefore hunting methods are liberal and swine can
be harvested throughout the year. States where feral swine are classified as game animals rely on
hunter harvest to control or regulate swine populations; however, sport hunting has had negligible
effects on swine population management (Nathan03). This method has seem to be the most
effective, but there are others that can be considered reliable as well. There are methods that are
nonlethal and are effective to satisfy the need to rid these beast from our homes. All of these
methods that have been mentioned are perfectly for eliminating the current threat like creating
fences for prevention and traps and eventually relocation of the animals. This method is less
invasive and barbarian like, they still are targeting the source and preventing further

Dylan Thomas Under Milk Wood Essay
Dylan Thomas Under Milk Wood deals with the simplicity of life, stressing the importance of each
cobble, donkey, [and] goose ; we must rejoice in the simple aspects of life which ultimately make it
so wonderful. There are many characters in the play who would attempt to hide from reality behind
their germ free blinds and sealed window[s] , consuming themselves with insipid activities which do
not bring the joy of the spring sun into their lives. Thomas treats these characters with humour,
subtly suggesting where his sympathies lie; with those characters who rejoice in the loveand the
little aspects of life which make it so much more worth living.

The captain s dreams of the dead suggest that he has lived a long and full life, and the fact that
those in his dreams rejoice in the simple aspects of their lives suggests both that these are the things
they miss the most, and also that Captain Cat knows that these aspects are not to be taken for
granted.
Mog Edwards and Miss Myfanwy Price have an eccentric relationship which, despite being from a
distance, they celebrate and enjoy every day of their relationship until death do us part . The love
they feel, whether or not it is for each other or for the idea of such a relationship, is an integral
part to their lives and, although somewhat strange, it is a blessing that such love is not taken for
granted. Thomas treats the two characters with satire, Mog Edwards being more taken with
economical ideas of business being poorly than that of love as his letters consist for the most part
of financial despair. It is hence perhaps the ease of the relationship which appeals to the couple
the most; love, at a distance, is all they need to be happy, and the fact that they rejoice in such a
relationship is not as humorous an idea as it is satisfying to know that such happy and eternal love
is made the most of to the furthest extent possible.
There are also those characters at the opposite end of the scale who live loveless or dark lives,
denying the reality

Respiratory Syncytial Virus In Healthy Children
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a very common virus that can cause mild cold like
symptoms in adults and older healthy children. It can cause serious respiratory problems in young
babies, especially those babies which are born prematurely, who have diseases of the heart or lung,
or those individuals who are immunocompromised. In adults, it may only produce symptoms of a
common cold, such as a stuffy nose, sore throat, mild headache, cough, fever, etc. As of now,
prevention of RSV infection is limited to the standard infection control practices, such as proper
hand washing and the frequent use of PPE (gowns and gloves). Outbreaks of RSV infections most
frequently begin in the fall and can run all the way into the spring. The most common... Show more

These include the elderly, persons with cardiopulmonary diseases, and immunocompromised
personnel. Upper respiratory tract infections tend to affect older children and young adults.
Additionally, RSV has been identified as the cause of 2 to 5% of adult community acquired
pneumonias. This has led to attack rates in nursing homes to be around 5 to 10% per year, with
substantial rates of pneumonia (10 to 20%) and death (2 to 5%). Diagnosing the RSV infection in
adults has proven to be difficult due to the viral culture and antigen detection being insensitive,
presumably due to the low viral titers present in nasal secretions. The counter for this in
immunosuppressed patients is early bronchoscopy. Also, the treatment of RSV in the geriatric
population is largely supportive, however early therapy with ribavirin and intravenous gamma
globulin has shown improved survival in immunocompromised

Basic Bargain Analysis
The term basic bargain became a relevant term in American during 1947 to 1975 better known as
the Great Prosperity. The country was providing the workers with enough money to buy what
they had produced. This bargain wanted to make sure that the pay of the workers coincided with
their output (p51). It was during this time that mass production and mass consumption went hand
in hand. This was also a time that brought the nation to more than halfway to perfect equality
(p43). One might say that the term basic bargain was one greatly understood by Henry Ford. He
was able to understand that those who work are also those who buy. Being able to contribute to
the cycle of buying the goods and services that others produce, is the main reason Ford increased
his assembly line workers pay to five dollars per eight hour day. He was also able to understand
that if those employees earnings were not sufficient enough to sustain... Show more content on

The problem that halted the growth of the economy is not the lack of jobs but the little pay that
is received to do these jobs. There will be a cycle that comes where there are plenty of jobs and
then times where the jobs are scaries, but again that is not the issue. The issue occurs when
Americans have to take those jobs but accept a lower pay from what they were making before. We
see many people going to college and making out on Wall Street, but while they are making their
share of the ecomoinc growth, those are the bottom are struggling. If we were able to regrow the
economic and redistrube this wealth we can invest the money into educational programs, pubic
universities, job training, and better public transportation. With spending the wealth back out this
way it could provide workers with more bargaining rights to nogiate for higher wages. Intsead
people have allowed the companies to break their bargain power, by cutting benefits, health care,

Essay On Collisions
Reducing the Effects of Collisions
Evaluate the effectiveness of safety features that have been introduced to vehicles in order to
reduce the likelihood and/or effects of collisions.
In a car crash, due to Newton s first law, when the car stops suddenly, the body in the car
continues moving forward at the same velocity of the car was moving previously but the body
does not continue moving at the same velocity as it will hit an object inside the car, such as the
steering wheel or dashboard. This force that is exerted on the body results in serious injuries.
Low speed zone
Due to a low speed zone on crowded roads, this effectively slows down traffic to prevent collisons.

Similarly, when the airbag restrains the body, it provides an equal and opposite force but unlike a
steering wheel, it slowly deflates and also help reduce injuries through spreading the force over
a larger area. Airbags effectively protect the passenger by providing a restraining force over a
large area instead of just the steering wheel or dashboard. Frontal airbags reduce driver fatalities
in frontal crashes by 29 percent and fatalities of front seat passengers age 13 and older by 32
percent. Side airbags that protect the head reduce a car driver s risk of death in driver side
crashes by 37 percent and an SUV driver s risk by 52 percent. NHTSA estimates that as of 2013,
39,886 lives have been saved by frontal airbags. Although, statistics show that deaths among
drivers using both airbags and seat belts are 26% lower than among drivers using seat belts alone.
Through several statistics, airbags have been proven to significantly reduce the number and
severity of injuries and deaths through providing a cushion distributing the force over a large area
and decreasing the force of the passenger or driver hitting the steering wheel or

the patients, illustrates that the treatments is not suitable for patients as the author further
exemplifies a study regarding an experiments where they planted fake memory about alien

control group. This shows that fake memory could produce realistic experiences towards the
patients and could lead to severe consequences. Parts work therapy on the other hand deals with

The Controversy Of Learning English As A Russian Language
Growing up, there were two things I was always embarrassed about. The first, was having to
translate for my parents. They are Russian and came to America in 1991. Learning a new
language in their 30s wasn t one of their priorities but getting money to sustain a family was.
Over the years, my parents picked up bits and pieces of English but not enough to have a
conversation with a sales clerk or the doctor. I would complain that I didn t want to translate. At
a young age, I was embarrassed of them because people would give us looks. In the moment, I
didn t understand why they couldn t speak English. As I grew up, I realized that learning English
is difficult. It has a variety of rules that sometimes contradict themselves. I had no compassion or
respect for my parents. The second thing that embarrassed me was not speaking Russian correctly.
I grew up in a Russian church which means I had to conversate in Russian. I was born in America
but I have Russian heritage. Being born in America means you have to learn two languages at once.
Most of the time, you learn English better than Russian. The reason why that happens is because
we have to attend school that teaches us English. I learned Russian through my parents... Show

have to. Their mom or dad or child is sick and they need medication. They shouldn t feel

Antigone And Creon Analysis
The dramatic play Antigone that Sophocles had formulated, carries out a complex and increasingly
suspenseful plot. Creon, the king of Thebes, establishes a law that deprives Polynices, one of the
two brothers that had died fighting for his rightful seat on the throne, a proper burial due to the
attack of his own city. In response, Polynices sister Antigonedefies this law behind Creons back and
is as a consequence, sentenced to death. Yet, Creon s judgements ultimately lead to his downfall as
he loses all things significant to him in life. Thus, the characters of Antigone and Creon within
Sophoclesplay find themselves in a conflict between their own conceivement of the law, which
mirror the conflict between the divine and state. What Sophocles intends to convey within the
tragic conclusion of both characters is the individuality of law and the correlating misconception
that a wrong or right can be established within its definition.
In constructing the mindsets of Creon and Antigone, whose complexity becomes a backbone to the
intricacy of the play as a whole, Sophocles utilizes both their actions and the dialogue of the
mediators to reveal the treatment and perception of their own preconceived laws. According to
Sam Meisner from the fishbowl discussion, Antigone s sister and Creon s son Haemon acted as the
voices of reason within the plot as both worked to reveal the hidden faults of the favored laws, thus
dubbing them the mediators between the two extremes of the

quantitative and qualitative research approach
The issue of quantitative and qualitative research approach has been discussed widely nowadays.

why people believe quantitative researchapproach is trustworthy than qualitative research approach.
Both quantitative and qualitative researches have been used as research approach recently. (What

Firstly, most of the researchers need to interact with people during collecting data. As researchers
use tools such as questionnaires and interviews to collect data, they must interact with interviewees
during the process. Although both of them ask questions in different ways, they are able to arrive at
the desired answer through interacting with people.
Besides, although qualitative research used verbal data to proceed their research mainly, sometimes
numerical data is used. For instance, to determine how individual feels, opinion data is commonly
used in the progress in qualitative research, using numbers one to five to find how individuals feel.
It is a kind of numerical data since it produce numerical outcome, which researchers use to
summarize the research. In addition, researchers need to use numerical data to support their
hypothesis before conducting their research. If their hypothesis has no data to support, the
credibility of it will be limited. Therefore, numerical data will be used in both of the research to
support their argument.
Moreover, researchers need to use their own data to develop their research and support their
hypothesis. Although second hand resources may helpful to their research, it may be outdated or
not appropriate to the research. Hence, primary data is important for

If you don t know parkour is an activity that requires a lot of endurance and agility. The main point of parkour is to get to point A to point B the fastest... while looking cool.I ve been working on parkour a lot in the woods, in my house, at school but I have yet to master it. There is an academy in Minnesota but it s like an hour drive so my mom won t take me. The academy works on fighting and running away skills. I ve got pretty good at parkour but I still need to learn how to do flips off ledges and stuff. I sometimes think about living in a big city and doing parkour or stunts. First you create a character and you can make how strong you are or if you re a wizard or a rogue or a knight. You play it with dice and a dungeon master. The dungeon master controls the game with their imagination, like if you re walking through a forest the dungeon master can say a pack of goblins attack you. How you play is let s say you see a pond with a frog on a rock, what do you do? You could kill the frog by throwing your sword at it but that s a tricky shot so you take a twenty sided die and you ll have to roll a ten or higher. The main point of the game is to do an objective like kill an evil wizard or free a world from an evil overlord. You can basically do whatever you want as long as the physics of your character allow it. My character is a rogue that used to be a criminal, i m very acrobatic and I am awesome. The last thing I am going to talk about is my social standing. Now I wouldn t say I m in the Emo group but at our age it s the closest thing to it. Now I wouldn t say i m emo I am more scene. • 3. Ancient Sumer s History Sumer s history began long before humans invented writing to record historical events. Much of what we know of pre historic Sumer was found in archeological ruins, which told of a people who gradually switched from a hunting and gathering society to a settled, agriculture based culture. As agriculture could produce a surplus of food, people found they could devote their time to other work besides that in the fields. A surplus of food could also sustain a larger population, which congregated at first in small villages. As time went on, many small villages became the first cities, one of them being Eridu, according to the Mesopotamians themselves. Scholars, however, consider Uruk to be the first city in history. Other Sumerian cities include... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... came the first villages and the beginning of towns. By 3500 B.C. the Sumerian city states began forming, all centered around temples to the gods. By this time, Sumerian people had invented writing, the wheel, irrigation and water control and sailboats. One of the names for Mesopotamia is the cradle of civilization, as the land between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers was the birthplace of civilization as we know it. Sumer s city states were first ruled by priest kings known as Ensi. As society grew more complex, however, and city states began battling over land and water rights, a secular kingship began, with the rule of a city state in the hands of Lugal, or strong man. The Lugal supervised wars and oversaw important trade with other lands. Trade brought in goods such as metal ores that were unobtainable in Sumer itself. It was probably the necessity of record keeping in long distance trade that spurred the development of cuneiform writing. While the archeological record reveals the life of common Sumerians, the Sumerian King List provides some detail of Sumer s kings. The King List, a cuneiform document that lists and briefly describes all the kings of the region beginning with Etana of Kish, who ruled c. 3100 B.C. A scribe in the city of Lagash wrote the document around 2100 B.C. at the instigation of a king who wished to legitimate his rule by connecting his name with the known kings and their great ... • 4. Now That This Paper Has Evaluated Aquinas’S Summa Contra Now that this paper has evaluated Aquinas s Summa Contra Gentiles, it will move on to evaluate his next important work. In the years 1265 1274 Aquinas wrote what is considered one of his most prominent works, The Summa Theologiae. In Summa Theologiae (also known as Suma Theologica or simply Summa), Aquinas gave five proofs for the existenceof God. This paper will first tell why these proofs are necessary then describe the proofs in themselves. These proofs are necessary because Aquinas believed that the existence of God is not self evident. A self evident proposition is one in which the predicate forms part of what is meant by the subject (PUT, 103). Meaning that God exists is not self evident because we cannot grasp divine essence... Therefore anything that is in the process of changing cannot change itself so one thing is changed by another which in turn is changed by yet another (Clark, 122). Eventually, this stream of change has to stop somewhere or else there would be no first cause of change and consequently no subsequent causes. So when we come to the first cause that is not changed by anything else, Aquinas believed it is what we understand to be God (Clark, 122 123). The second proof is derived from the nature of causation. Aquinas thought that in the natural world we find causes in a natural order of succession. We never see something causing itself because if we did then it would be pre existing and this would be impossible (Clark, 123). Every first cause impacts an intermediate (there can be many intermediates) which then impacts a last. You cannot take out any one cause without getting rid of its effects (Clark, 123). So you cannot take out the first cause without losing the intermediates and last causes that follow. Thus Aquinas thought that we must suppose a first cause, which is God (Clark, 123). The third proof addresses the issue of what is unnecessary and what is unnecessary. Our experience has shown us that in life there are things that are necessary and things that are unnecessary. Things that are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Book Study Update Book Study Update The book that was chosen for my book study was Blythe s(1999), Akenfield: Portrait of an English Village. I have chosen this book because of my many connections to England. Several years ago, I was provided the opportunity to undertake graduate studies at Westfield House, and attached House of Fitzwilliam College which is part of Cambridge University. During my time in Cambridge, I was able to travel the country and visit many of the places my ancestors called home. Having a cousin who still resides in Kettering, due North of London, and parents who have just retired from living in Wales, I have a long appreciation for the people and heritage of this small country. It is these appreciations that have lead me to my choice of Blythe s (1999) book. After having ordered the book through Amazon, I finally received my copy on Friday. I have been able to navigate through the introduction and first two chapters of the book. Akenfield, is not the name of an actual village, but is rather a pen name given to this East Anglian village as a means of protecting the identities of those involved in the study (Blythe, 1999). There are hundreds of different occupations within this field, including anything from saving a fragile newborn baby s life to prescribing antibiotics to a relatively healthy adult. No two occupations are exactly alike, but each one is equally important. Although there are several job variations in medicine, they all have at least one thing in common. Every occupation within the medical field relies heavily on mathematics. Elementary mathematics, geometry and algebra are all obviously crucial to advancing in new technology, saving lives and curing diseases. However, most people do not realize the importance math has on simpler tasks performed every day by doctors, nurses, x ray... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similarly to doctors and pharmacists, nurses also rely on the metric system and are required to convert measurements quickly. Many nurses deal with this daily through calculating IV drip rates. Most IV bags contain one thousand cubic centimeters of fluid. A doctor may order his/her nurse to administer one thousand cubic centimeters every 8 hours. This may not seem too difficult, but in order to do this a nurse has to precisely calculate the drip rate of the machine so that the patient gets the required amount of medication in the time frame the doctor suggests. In contrast, a smaller bag of IV fluid may require instruction to give a patient five hundred milligrams every thirty minutes (Boyd). Before calculating the drip rate of the small bag, a nurse would have to convert the original cubic centimeters to milligrams. Just as important as conversions, ratios and proportions also play a huge role in the medical field. Nurses use ratios and proportions when giving medication based on their patient s weight and height. A doctor may give the order 25 mcg/kg/min. If a patient weighs 114 pounds, how many milligrams of medication should he/she be given per hour? To figure this, his/her nurse would begin by changing micrograms into milligrams. If one microgram is equal to 0.001 milligrams, the nurse can find the amount of milligrams in twenty five micrograms by setting up a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Initially, Herschel thought it was a comet because of its slightly askew shape, however upon further exploration he found it to be a planet. Herschel confirmed his discovery by contacting Nevil Maskelyne. Maskelyne was the astronomer royal. Herschel named the planet Georgium Sidus after King George III. Disadvantages Of Enlightened Despotism Some of the traits most associated with enlightened despotism include many types of reforms inspired by the Enlightenment made by absolute monarchs, these reforms were of social, economic, legal, and educational, and religious tolerance. These reforms did not allow for the question of their central power, or of the accepted social class order. I believe this form of government to an extent could work with today s political climate, as it has been going. Information Technology Issues And Procedures The information technology issues and procedures involved in ensuring a successful business contingency plan revolve around the effective system analysis and design process. The phases of system analysis and design involved include preliminary study, feasibility study, system analysis, system design, coding/programming, testing, implementation and finally maintenance. Preliminary study is the first step, and it involves just a brief study of the business system to be put in place. This enables the developers to have an overview of how the physical system will be. Once the management approves the preliminary study, feasibility study commences. This process estimates the operational, economical, technical and scheduled effectiveness of the system to users. System analysis involves breaking down the entire business process into smaller processes and doing a detailed study on them. This is with a view to understanding how information flows to improve the system processes (Williams, Hardy Holgate, 2013). System design is the most vital phase where the system analysis logic is implemented into a physical system. System design process commences with the general design; where costs of the system building blocks are estimated. Then finally the detailed design process is implemented which involves designing output and input of the system data. Programmers then code the system design into a workable code Testing then follows; where a system test run is done to identify and remove ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The environment provides humans many things from things like water, air, nutrients, water cycling for agriculture and disease prevention or recreation. These things are give to humans for free, so why do not we value the environment. The environment provides us with many things which we need to survive on day to day basis, which is one of the reason why I valueanother environment. The second reason being the instrumental value, meaning that being in and seeing nature bring people satisfaction. To me being nature helps me keep my mental wellness positive if there are any issues or negative problems, which I am unable to resolve. Being in nature gives me that satisfaction and promotes me to solve them. Second being the intrinsic valuethat nature can stand alone. I believe this because humans came to earth, environment existed before. The environment could sustain and preserve it self before, it is due to humans activities that is destroying the environment. We all acquire beliefs and values from many sources. We all react differently to life experiences which ultimately influences the way in which we see and interpret the world around us. One of my most memorable moments of my life was the first time I went to Disney Land I was terrified but because of this trip I found out how to face my fears. The loud sounds of flying planes over me reminded me one of the scariest things I ve seen on tv crashing in a plane. I didn t want to even go near the plane but I had to my parents paid thousands for me to go on this trip so I stepped forward on the flimsy bridge that connects the loud airport to the metal coffin plane. I knew I was a wimp but I had enough respect to do what my parents wanted me to do. Flight to Las Angeles now departing. Were those the last words I would hear besides me screaming to my death? The plane took off it wasn t bad at all maybe I wouldn t die but time will tell. After an hour on the plane I realized I was going to be ok. Two hours had passed and I really enjoyed this then over the loud speaker, Now landing in Las Angeles please tighten seat belts as we land. The pilot stated. The landing, the death of me? But when we touched the ground it wasn t bad felt a mild bump that was all more fun than scary. On the way off the plane I looked into the cockpit that might be me one day. That was the day I came over my fear of planes and actually made me want to be a pilot soaring over the skies seeing the tiny people this became my dream. We checked into our hotel and stayed their for the night thinking about the experince I had on the plane, and thinking about the rides I would go on tomorrow. Most kids would be excited and thrilled but my ten year old self a coward self was scared. The next day we went on a bus to the front gates of Disney Land. I entered very anxious for if I would puke or as my mind seemed set on dyeing. They said this place was magical I made up this stupid thing where if I would step on certain tiles on the road I would be fine. • 24. Lord Byron And Childe Harold s Pilgrimage By Samuel Taylor... If you want an inside glimpse into the man that Lord Byron was, all you need to do is pick up some of his prose. In any of his pieces, there s a raw sense of emotion and vulnerability that no other Romantic shows. William Blake wrote of nature and religion. William Wordsworth wrote of the beauty of nature and how it made him feel in hindsight. Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote of the supernatural and a sense of peace that eventually fades away. All of those Romantic poets used a piece of their life in their works, whether large or small, but not to the extent that Lord Byron did. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another important part in Childe Harold s Pilgrimage, Byron unknowingly gives the first glimpse into what would later be referred to as the Byronic Hero. The Byronic Hero is usually a man who is smart and cunning. He s sophisticated, moody, and anti authority. He s an arrogant, cynical exile who knew himself the most unfit Of men to heard with Man; with whom he held Little in common (lines 100 102) and engages in self destructive behavior including sex, drugs, and alcohol. He was Proud though in desolation; which could find A life within itself, to breathe without mankind (lines 107 108) which shows that the Byronic hero did not need anyone else. While this describes most of Byron s characters, it also describes clichГ©d love interests in modern day teen novels and a classic trope in film and television. By describing himself and drawing upon himself for inspiration, Byron created something so iconic and unwavering that, very likely, will never die down. While Byron is himself the original Byronic Hero, other Romantics did not follow his footsteps: a fever at the core, Fatal to him who bears, to all who ever bore, (lines 377 378) most Byronic Heroes die relatively young, in a blaze of flames and rebellious greatness. • 30. Music Influence On Music Music is an art form and cultural activity that has been enjoyed for centuries by many generations of humans. As time goes on, music preferences change and along with that, the way individuals consume music also changes. Firstly, looking at my age group; we were born in the 2000 s and this is also when the Internet had just come out. The internet and the development of other technologies, facilitated the shift to digital music consumption for this generation. For example, Spotify is a music streaming service that was released in 2008 and has become very popular among this generation. Many other music streaming services have followed Spotify such as Apple Music, as many consumers like to have access to a wide array of songs through the web, which helps them avoid the inconvenience of having to download all the music. Also, portable music players such as the iPod Nanoare really enjoyed by people in my age group, as it allows them to have access to their music from practically anywhere. Finally, another advancement that has really been enjoyed by consumers in my age group are wireless headphones. Although stereo headphones have been around since the 1950 s, products like the Apple s AirPods are popular with individuals in my age group, as many are looking for wireless electronics. Secondly, looking at my parent s age group, they had many sources of music consumption. My parents listened to music through cassettes, CDs, and vinyl s through their childhood to young adulthood. Vinyl records first came out in the 1950 s, about a decade before my parents were born, but they still spent a lot of time listening to music through vinyl turntables which they had at their homes. To this day, they have some at my home, due to the amazing sound quality they deliver. Cassette tapes were also released in the 1960 s, so my parents also listened to them through cassette players. My father tells me he owned the Sony Walkmanwhen he was younger, and that was the portable music device of their time. Finally, when CD s came out in the 1980 s, my parents tell me that they used them a lot and to this day, still use them to play music when in the car sometimes. • 31. Immigration Negative Essay Immigration is a touchy subject for many people in the United States, and it seems like depending on which side of the political spectrum one falls there will be some radically different answers given as to whether it benefits or harms the American economy. This dilemma has been one faced by new Americans almost as long as the United States has existed, with fierce anti immigrant feelings extending back to the days of the Know Nothings and beyond. This paper will seek to set the record right, and will show that immigrationis actually a good thing for the American economy, providing evidence that is strong enough to convince readers from any side of the political aisle. Immigrants, traditionally, have filled a key niche in the American economy by taking on roles that other American citizens might not necessarily want to do, or that they will do but for a significantly higher pay. It is important to remember that, during the founding days of this country, and especially of this city, many of the jobs that were needed to actually get things done were manned by immigrants. Many of these jobs were given to Irish and Italians, men and women who had come fresh from Europe in search of a new life, and through their contributions we were able to build and expand in ways never before expected. Great feats like the Empire State Building, the Transcontinental Railway, and others, were all accomplished as a result of immigrant labor. These lower paying jobs are still crucial to ... History Of Air Assault Operations During The Korean War History of Air Assault The purpose behind my topic is to simply show a little insight to the beginnings and processes of how air assault operations came about. The importance aviation played from Korea through Vietnam and onto the complex battlefield that is being fought today. Throughout history we have seen what using aviation and specifically utility based aircraft in a role of something more deliberate such as aerial reconnaissance, troop transport, medevac and logistical missions can do for the ground force commander and become a combat multiplier. The military realized the importance of aviation during the Korean Wardue to terrain restrictions and the ability for men and equipment to move further and move faster to a location regardless of the terrain, a great asset when it comes to choosing between walking or flying. After Korea and the beginning of the Vietnam is really when air assault operations took off. The inception of the Air Cavalry in 1965 turned the tide in what we consider to be the foundation of air assault operations on a complex battlefield. One of these operations that will be pointed out in this paper is the battle of Ia Drang Valley which occurred in the fall of 1965 and was received as the first division air assault victory in recorded history. The episode in question that I shall be observing is from Season 3 of the popular sitcom Full House, the episode title being Back to School Blues . Allow me to fill in some missing details for the setting, the two primary locations that serve as the focal point for this episode are: The Tanner home, DJ s junior high school (more specifically, the cafeteria), with a minor focus on backyard lawn golfing tutelage from Mr. Joey Gladstone, and DJ s uncle: Jesse, the time of day varies between morning to next, with most filler details being skipped. It can be assumed since the kids are just going back to school, it is most likely on a Monday. One most prominent example of socialization that I happened to notice in progress was near the end of the episode, Danny has just stopped his daughter DJ from going to school dressed a certain way, it is a very tender moment between a father learning to cope with how his little girl is growing up, but she s not quite an adult, he s learning just as much about the world of teenage parent as DJ is about fitting in at school with people of a higher age group. A great value is instilled in DJ during this interaction: be yourself, don t change yourself to suit other people. The question The most trite yet crucial question in the field of economic growth and development is: Why are some countries much poorer than others? Traditional neoclassical growth models, following Solow (1956), Cass (1965) and Koopmans (1965), explain differences in income per capita in terms of different paths of factor accumulation. In these models, cross country differences in factor accumulation are due either to differences in saving rates (Solow), preferences (Cass Koopmans), or other exogenous parameters, such as total factor productivity growth. In these models there are institutions, for example agents have well defined property rights and exchange goods and services in markets, but differences in income and growth are not explained by variation in institutions. Mog Edwards and Miss Myfanwy Price have an eccentric relationship which, despite being from a distance, they celebrate and enjoy every day of their relationship until death do us part . The love they feel, whether or not it is for each other or for the idea of such a relationship, is an integral part to their lives and, although somewhat strange, it is a blessing that such love is not taken for granted. Thomas treats the two characters with satire, Mog Edwards being more taken with economical ideas of business being poorly than that of love as his letters consist for the most part of financial despair. It is hence perhaps the ease of the relationship which appeals to the couple the most; love, at a distance, is all they need to be happy, and the fact that they rejoice in such a relationship is not as humorous an idea as it is satisfying to know that such happy and eternal love is made the most of to the furthest extent possible. It was during this time that mass production and mass consumption went hand in hand. This was also a time that brought the nation to more than halfway to perfect equality (p43). One might say that the term basic bargain was one greatly understood by Henry Ford. He was able to understand that those who work are also those who buy. • 53. Antigone And Creon Analysis The dramatic play Antigone that Sophocles had formulated, carries out a complex and increasingly suspenseful plot. Creon, the king of Thebes, establishes a law that deprives Polynices, one of the two brothers that had died fighting for his rightful seat on the throne, a proper burial due to the attack of his own city. In response, Polynices sister Antigonedefies this law behind Creons back and is as a consequence, sentenced to death. Yet, Creon s judgements ultimately lead to his downfall as he loses all things significant to him in life. Thus, the characters of Antigone and Creon within Sophoclesplay find themselves in a conflict between their own conceivement of the law, which mirror the conflict between the divine and state. What Sophocles intends to convey within the tragic conclusion of both characters is the individuality of law and the correlating misconception that a wrong or right can be established within its definition. In constructing the mindsets of Creon and Antigone, whose complexity becomes a backbone to the intricacy of the play as a whole, Sophocles utilizes both their actions and the dialogue of the mediators to reveal the treatment and perception of their own preconceived laws.
