survival being the main theme of the novel, the characters in The Road to Winter exhibit their
exceptional and awful capabilities when their survival is threatened. Despite characters living in
seclusion, they will go to any means to protect their own survival. Furthermore, when Finn, Rose
or Kas lives are threatened, alternate characters will rise to their assistance, completing formidable
acts of bravery to save them. Finally, Ramage displays his awful capabilities, threatening others
survival, if his own leadership is jeopardised.
With characters in the novel living in hiding as a result of the constant threat that the Wilder s
pose, they need to abandon their seclusion to protect their own lives, despite the possible

Not every family is as picture perfect as they seem. In my family, we like to take family photos

Internal auditors (IA) assess how well risks are being managed in an organization, how the
organization is being governed and how well internal control systems and processes are working.
They report their findings to senior management, highlighting and advising management where
improvements in systems controls and processes are necessary.
By evaluating an organization s risk management and assisting management in improvement of
internal controls, IA s help management to clearly show stakeholders that they are managing the
organization well.
Different from external auditors, IA s work within an organization and their work can vary
depending on the business requirements. They do not only look at financial risks and statements
but at a range of issues that are key to a company s survival

In his essay The Rhetoric of The Image, Roland Barthes explores the relationship between image
and meaning. He centres his discussion around the advertisement as advertising is a medium in
which there is an intended message being sent to the viewer. Barthes puts forward that if an image
contains signs, in advertising the signs are full , as these signs are formed with the viewer in mind
so that the intended message is not missed.

My First Semester Of English
Throughout my first semester of English in college I have gained a significant amount of
knowledge in writing. Each writing assignment encouraged me to use and try new approaches to
writing. They also encouraged me to a take my writings a step further than the previous papers I
have written before. My writingis more academic and formal rather than casual and informal. I have
taken the tools that I have learned throughout the semester and articulated those tools into each
writing project. With many hours of dedication to my papers as a whole, the time that I spent was a
time for learningand advancing the skills and tools I already had from high school.
