Essay Justice
Justice
Every action or decision we make is either justifiable or unjustifiable.
Justice is usually decided by society or the quot;norm. quot; The quot;norm quot; changes from one
society to another. However, there are always laws that can be broken, consequences that must
follow, and punishment that must be imparted. Justice can be seen in two different ways, social and
criminal. Justice is in the eye of the beholder because we all have different attitudes about right and
wrong.
Criminal justice is a term that refers to the area of social laws which a group of people deem
valuable in order for the day to day mechanics of society to function. When these laws are broken,

No matter what verdict would have been handed down, someone, somewhere would have been
unsatisfied. If Shively were sentenced to be executed, then his family and friends would have had
to fight for justice until the day he died. As the verdict of quot;not guilty quot; arrived,
Paterson s family, many police officers, and friends of the family cried for justice. Yet, justice had
been served.
Equal and satisfying justice has always been a problem. On May 30, 1939 a group of Texas
Rangers decided to ambush and murder two people they wanted to destroy. They shot seventy
five bullets into a man named Clyde and fifty four deadly bullets into a young lady named
Bonnie. Of course, this is the famous story of the outlaw couple, Bonnie and Clyde. This action
branched across the guaranteed right to due process. Another incident of the criminal justice s
injustices occurred when the ATF decided to arrest David Koresh and his followers. We know
how this story ends. The ATF was the reason that many people died and was probably the cause of
the Oklahoma City bombing.
A more recent incident is one that was taped by a helicopter. A group of illegal Mexican
immigrants were trying to get to the land of freedom and justice for all. After arriving they were
hunted down by the border patrol in
California. After the border patrol caught them they beat them up. This group of Mexicans were
beat up for attempting to

Literary Devices InThe Sound Of Thunder, By Ray Bradbury
Watch Out! As they fight for their survival. In the short story, The Sound of Thunder, by Ray
Bradbury, is about a man going into a time machine to hunt a T Rex. He was traveling along with
his other companions through the time machine to meet the T Rex. They ended up encountering
many obstacles as they re on their journey. Although people don t pay attention to what they re
doing even if it s the smallest things, it can lead up to a consequence as shown in literary devices
such as; simile, metaphor, and repetition.
At first, Bradbury uses simile as a way to illustrate a comparison of unlike things reflecting to the
character s actions. Simile is an expression comparing one thing to another using the words, like,
or as. In the short story, Eckels and the company travelled back 60 millions years ago. Travis
warned everyone to not step off the path, and began to talk consistently about the consequences if
you would step off the path. As Travis was talking about the consequences, it was brought up that
if you step on a mouse, and you leave your print, like a Grand Canyon, across Eternity (Bradbury,
22). This shows us that Travis said this, but meant that if you make any changes in the past, even
the smallest ones, it can result into something disastrous in the future. It compares the effects of
stepping on a mouse to that at the Grand Canyon, which shows the resemblance. This is one of the
many similes used, but another comparing literary device is used as well in the

Who Is Ethan Edwards Comanche
Throughout the story of The Searchers John Wayne s character Ethan Edwards must face many
trials. Starting with losing the Civil War three years before the movie starts, and his brother and

shortly after his arrival, and they take his nieces. He goes on a revenge trip, in which the
comanche continue to evade him for five years before he can catch up to them. And finally he has
to deal with the idea that his niece has herself become a comanche. Ethan Edwards is a fairly

However as time goes by, as weeks become months, then eventually years, Ethen becomes more
desperate in his attempt to find Debbie, as he starts offering rewards for anybody who could give
him a lead as to where she is. His desperation perhaps stems greatly from the fact that thought the
movie it becomes increasingly clear that she might end up succumbing to becoming comanche
herself via Stockholm syndrome. The idea her becoming a comanche would be unbearable to him,
and he says throughout The Searchers, much to protest of his sidekick Martin Pauley, that he
would put her down if that were the case. This fear of her turning on them is only made worse by
women who become fully comanche on their

Reducing Dropout Rates
Each year 3 million students are dropping out of school (Joseph). Many presidents in the past
have passed acts to help and encourage students to stay in school but it has not helped because so
many students still drop out each year (Joseph). Lowering the dropout rates will improve the lives
of many and will benefit the economy. This will require a lot of work because millions are
dropping out each year but by improving the school programs and adding programs to schools this
will help these individuals that could be at risk for dropping out of school (Joseph). Although it
would require additional taxpayer funding, the US government should implement programs in the
public school system that target drop out rates in urban communities and populations of
impoverished students in order to improve the quality of life for these individuals and better
prepare them for their future.

By expanding the programs it can help play a positive effect on a students success (Smink). There
are so many programs that help out in cities and communities, if there is more programs in places
where it is more required the dropout rates will decrease. If the expansion of the programs include
dropout prevention strategies and tie their skills to a career and should include the parents so
they can support their childrens path to success (Smink). Students should be aware the life that
waits for them if they choose to dropout of school. Fewer and fewer blue collar jobs are available
as time goes by for students who do not go to higher education (Eichler). Blue collar jobs are the
jobs that high school dropouts go to in order to get food on their table. Technology is advancing and

Outweighs Its Prejudicial Effect On People V. Albarran Essay
outweighs its prejudicial effect. People v. Albarran (2007) 149 Cal.App.4th 214, 223. We will not
disturb a trial court s exercise of discretion under Section 352 unless it exceeds the bounds of
reason. People v. Funes (1994) 23 Cal.App.4th 1506, 1519.
Rodriguez contends that court abused its discretion under Evidence Code 352 and violated his
right to due process and fair trial when it admitted of evidence showing his previous gang
membership with the Mongol Motorcycle Club. ~(AB 14)~ He claims that evidence of gang
membership unduly prejudiced the jury against him, remarking that identification of the Mongols
was completely unnecessary and did not strengthen the inference that Rodriguez had a motive for
the shooting ~(AB 14, ARB 5)~ We therefore review the record in the light most favorable to the
judgment to determine whether the evidence of gang membership was more probative than
prejudicial with respect to the charges against Mr. Rodriguez.
1.2 The Relevant Gang Evidence was More Probative than Prejudicial
Rodriguez cites Albarran to support his appeal. In that case, the defendant gang member was
charged with attempted murder, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, and attempted kidnapping for

Executive summary
Companies over the world are striving to become multinationals. Globalisation and corresponding
developments in transport and communication technologies have helped companies achieve this
objective and find worldwide markets. Needless to say, aspiring companies need research and
knowledge about markets to back their willingness to expand to foreign markets. All markets are
different and pose different challenges to operate. For instance, each product has its own unique
selling preposition and a one size fits all strategy is not applicable across the global markets. It is
important to have knowledge about factors such as people s potential to buy the product, ... Show

Emily Dickinson Paradox
Emily Dickinson was born on December 10, 1830, and died on May 15, 1886. During these 55
years, she wrote nearly 1,800 poems. Very few of these poems were published during her life,
most of them only being discovered by her sister after Dickinson s death (Crash Course). Nearly
all of her poems are highly complex, either having allegorical qualities or contradicting themselves.
In fact, Dickinson s poetrywas so contradictory that she has been regarded as the poet of paradox .
Growing up, the poet claimed to be haunted by the menace of death(Crash Course) and therefore
wrote many poems about death, immortality, and time. She also wrote a lot about religion, often
going back and forth between theism and atheism. She also wrote often about... Show more content

Dickinson was obsessed with the concept of death. While this probably was a consequence of
her poor mental health, it allowed her to imagine death in many different ways. For example in
her arguably most famous poem Because I could not stop for Death she sees Death as a suitor,
taking her away as his bride. Another notable example is in I heard a Fly buzz when I died :
There interposed a Fly with Blue uncertain stumbling Buzz (Dickinson). In this poem there are
two interpretations of who this fly could represent: God or Death. No matter who the fly
represents, however, they still serve the same purpose: to guide the narrator into a peaceful death.
Another common theme in Dickinson s poems regarding death is the value of sight. To
Dickinson, sight often is an allegory for observation or life. For example, in I heard a Fly buzz
when I died the last stanza discusses the narrator looses sight. Between the light and me And then
the Windows failed and then I could not see to see (Dickinson). In this stanza, the narrator discusses
how the fly gets between them and their line of sight. At the very end, there is a dash and nothing
following it shows the sudden absence of thought that occurs after

Technical Perfection
Why a certified personal trainer nutrition specialist are a must!!
It is always advantageous to hire a certified personal trainer in the quest of staying fit. One can be
subjected to a variety of benefits if catered to by a personal trainer. They include:
Pinpoint Accuracy
Technical Perfection can be achieved during workout if the services of a certified personal trainer
is acquired by an individual. Often we think that we are providing our best inputs during our
workout sessions but the expected results are not met. This can be because of the prevalence of
technical glitches which we cannot voluntarily figure out. For instance, how much or how little the
knee should be bent and what weights to exactly bear at what time is not something that we can
accurately estimate with our restricted knowledge. A certified personal trainer will guide an
individual in such a situation by ensuring technical perfection, and as a result, satisfactory results
can be achieved in double quick time.

This is because we don t know how to manage our weight. Increase of fat can be for a variety of

how long does the individual sleeps, how much intake of cold water does the individual have, etc
among others are aspects that a specialist considers.
Education
A nutrition specialist, above everything else, informs and educates the individual about the
nuances of different kinds of food. How much food is good for the body and in what proportion is
something that gets efficiently answered. As a result, the individidual in the future, does not take
decisions regarding his/her diet based on popular beliefs or baseless rumours. Instead, the diet chart

Realists Vs. Scientific Theory
.Convergent realists often argue for their position by pointing to the increasing success of science.
This requires that there be a reasonable inference from a scientific theory s success to its
approximate truth. The argument that realists are trying to make is that the best explanation of a
scientific theorys success is that it is true. Larry Laudan refutes the realists argument from the
success of science. To do this, he characterize his opposition as Convergent Epistemological
Realism. Convergent realism is a theory about the nature and history of science.
Laudan identifies five central claims for convergent epistemological realism.
R1) Scientific theories (at least in the mature sciences) are typically approximately true ... Show

The empirical success of science (in the sense of giving detailed explanations and accurate
predictions) accordingly provides striking empirical confirmation for realism.
According to Laudan, convergent epistemological realism involves two abductive arguments by
realists.
Argument 1: Inference to the best explanation from R1, R2, and R5.
P1: If scientific theories are approximately true, they will typically be empirically successful;
P2: If the central terms in scientific theories genuinely refer, those theories will generally be
empirically successful.
P3: Scientific theories are empirically successful.
C: (Probably) Theories are approximately true and their terms genuinely refer.
Argument 2: Inference to the best explanation from R3 and R5.
P1: If the earlier theories in a mature science are approximately true and if the central terms of
those theories genuinely refer, then later more successful theories in the same science will preserve
the earlier theories as limiting cases;
P2: Scientists seek to preserve earlier theories as limiting cases and generally succeed.
C: (Probably) Earlier theories in a mature science are approximately true and genuinely referential.
For his refutation of argument 1, Laudan (addressing Putnam) states that the realist seemingly
requires claims S1 S4.

Proposal for Quality of Work Life
A STUDY ON QUALITY OF WORK LIFE IN MANUFACTURING SECTOR INTRODUCTION
Human resources play a very important role in success of an organization and thus, management of
human resource assumes importance. Many aspects affect the management of human resources.
One such aspect is Quality of Work Life (QWL). It is a philosophy, a set of principles, which holds
that people are the most important resource in the organization as they are trustworthy, responsible
and capable of making valuable contribution and they should be treated with dignity and respect .
The elements that are relevant to an individual s quality of work life include the task, the physical
work environment, social environment within the organization, Administrative system and... Show

In this context, subjective well being is seen as drawing upon both work and non work aspects
of life. However, more complex models of an individual s experience in the workplace often
appear to be set aside in an Endeavour to simplify the process of trying to measuring stress or
some similarly apparently discrete entity. It may be, however, that the consideration of the
bigger, more complex picture is essential, if targeted, effective action is to be taken to address
quality of working life or any of it s sub components in such a way as to produce real benefits, be
they for the individual or the organization. Whilst Quality of Life has been more widely studied
(4), Quality of working life, remains relatively unexplored and unexplained. A review of the
literature reveals relatively little on quality of working life. Where quality of working life has
been explored, writers differ in their views on its core constituents. It is argued that the whole is
greater than the sum of the parts as regards Quality of working Life, and, therefore, the failure to
attend to the bigger picture may lead to the failure of interventions which tackle only one aspect. A
clearer understanding of the inter relationship of the various facets of quality of working life offers
the opportunity for improved analysis of cause and effect in the workplace....This consideration of

why Winnie foster is lonely because she is telling the toad why should you have to be cooped up

And on page 13 I picked that certain detail of why she was lonely because it states she is outside

How Does George Orwell Use Literary Techniques In 1984
1984 Essay
In his novel 1984, how does George Orwell use literary techniques in order to position readers to
consider Government Control?
1984 is a novel that was published by George Orwell in 1949. Orwell uses different literary
techniques throughout the novel to show the reader how he saw the future in thirty five years time.
To show manipulation, power, rebellionand loyalty, Orwell uses different literary techniques to
show the reader the key ideas of the novel. The reader can tell from the start of the novel that the
novel has a boring and bleak society because the first few words of the novel read It was a bright
cold day (Orwell, 1949) which shows that it is not a happy society. The novel was set in Oceania,
1984 which would have been the future at the time the novel was written, since 1984 was written in
1948.
Manipulation is a big part of 1984. Orwell uses many different techniques to show every way the
government is controlling the people both psychologically and physically as shown in detail
through Winston. There is proof of this when Orwell uses repetition when Winston starts shouting

There is nothing anyone can do if the party decide to do something that the public do not like.
Orwell uses imagery to prove that when Nothing was gone from the room except his mother and
sister ,(Orwell, 1949) this really shows the power that the party had over the people. The real
power of the party was shown at the end of the novel when someone as strong minded as Winston
gave up, he gave up and accepted that he loved Big Brother (Orwell, 1949). Orwell uses self
reflection to recap all of Winston s struggles throughout the novel. The power of government
control has been reached after Orwell proved that someone as rebellious as Winston has accepted

The Pros And Cons Of Altruism
Imagine yourself stumbling upon a horrendous scene. A young woman is seen sprawled on the
ground, her face is bloodied and bruised, and her right leg is twisted at a grotesque angle, evidently
broken. What would you do? Obviously, you help. But why would you help? Undoubtedly, you
wanted to alleviate her distress. But why? Helping others in need and having the urge of wanting to
help somebody who is in need is something that happens at least once in everybody s life. It is a
common thing that even animals help one another mutually, though they expect to gain something
in return. But in some circumstances, helping somebody is not connected to receiving immediate
benefits or these are considered non existent. This prosocial behaviour has caught... Show more

Numeral studies have shown how individuals would help a family member, relative, or someone
they can mirror themselves with, rather than somebody that they have no relation to or does not
have a connection with. (Rushton, 1991) It is fathomable how helping a family, relative or
somebody we are more attached to is a normal reaction. But it is incomprehensible to explain when
humans show compassion towards complete strangers. This altruistic behaviour seemingly suggests
that true altruism could undeniably exist.
Empathy Altruism Model argues that altruism does exist and explains why people help others
even though they are not related. The Empathy Altruism Model, is established on the idea that
emotional response of empathy is produced when an individual is seen to be in need. It could be
argued that the individual feels empathy for the other person who is in need, and being able to
feel and take into consideration of another s feelings, directs the helping behaviour at relieving the
person who is in need and therefore altruism is produced by altruistic reasons . (Cialdini, Brown,

NoSQL databases. NoSQL meets the requirements of the large scale distributed computing
environment, which provides scalability, high availability, high performance and reliability.
NoSQL databases are increasingly used in big data and real time web applications. Using NoSQL
provides the benefit of storing data in schema less structure. NoSQL is not a brand new database
technology; yet, it provides the possibility and flexibility of handling complex semi structured data
and optimizes solutions to different types of data in this massive and data intensive era of large

Analysis Of Suggestions For The Future Of Social Work
Introduction
Technological advancements can seem overwhelming today. Most everyone would agree that
technological progress can be a good thing, but only when it brings solutions to problems. For
instance, it makes us more productive, or it gives us more information more quickly than in the
past. Unfortunately, there can be unintended consequences of technology that are detrimental to us.
The thing that most concerns me is that we may be losing the concept of the importance of human
relationships. When we bury ourselves in technology and cannot live a day, hour or even a minute
without it, we can easily lose sight of interpersonal connections. Email and texting are convenient,
but we sacrifice other forms of communication like body language, a tone of voice and facial
expressions. An interpersonal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We are privileged to be invited into someone s life. We should do everything necessary to protect
boundaries and protect the therapeutic relationship. Secondly, we must be diligent not to exploit the
vulnerable populations we serve. The enduring challenge in social work is to locate and walk what
can be a fine line between valuable innovation that has therapeutic benefits and harmful, possibly
exploitative treatment of vulnerable clients (Reamer, 2013; p. 171).
We are encouraged to be creative in finding new models and methods of meeting the needs of our
clients. We must also be critical thinkers in evaluating our efforts. Good communication is essential
for developing and maintaining positive relationships. We must be diligent to develop therapeutic
working relationships with our clients, and we should listen in order to identify how best to serve
them. Technology can make communication quick and easy, but we must exercise caution. We
must always remember the importance of relationships that human touch and interaction are

They have been married for almost fourteen years and have four children. The model of their
marriage is egalitarian. Both work fulltime and help with raising children and taking care of the
home. I chose to talk with them because I selfishly wanted an excuse to go to lunch with them.
Challenges
Before marriage some of the red flags that Jodie and Shaun said to look for are being too
dependent on a relationship. Each person really needs to be confident in who they are before they
enter the relationship. Another red flag would be domineering personalities. It may appear that
they always want to save you, but in always stepping in, it starts to belittle the other person s
confidence in their own abilities. When asked what some of the challenges were when they first
got married, they mentioned one thing that was very difficult for them was that they did not start
out in their own place. For the first year of their marriage they lived in the basement of Jodie s
parents. They felt a lot of their transition in their marriage didn t occur until they moved out.
Another challenge they talked about was that before you are married you think that you know a
person so well, but through marriage you find that there were a lot of things you didn t know.

ENGL 102 Reflective Essay
When August rolled around the corner I started to get nervous and excited about taking ENGL
102 Research Writing, nervous because writing isn t my strong point and excited because it
would mean learning something new. I have heard the horror stories from other students about
writing ten page papers and couldn t fathom the idea of having to write about one topic for ten
pages long. I remember when I first looked at the syllabus and felt quite over whelmed. After
about a month into the class I realized it wasn t so bad after all, and really started to understand the
whole concept of writingbased off of research. Through exercises, reading, and discussion boards it
was all starting to make sense. The first step in starting a research essay... Show more content on

It s good to pick a topic that you can actually find information on. If the topic you pick doesn t
have any information on it, it ll be hard to write a ten page paper on it. This brings you to the next
step, which would be finding information or sources on the topic that you choose. I have
learned there are five main types of sources: primary sources which presents original words of a
writer, secondary sources which analyzes somebody else s work, objective sources which uses
experiments/survey results, subjective sources which uses blogs and essays, and living sources
from in person interviews or phone calls. When you are finding sources I have learned that there
are unstable sources out there. I figured taking information from a website that wasn t reliable
wasn t really the best thing to do but I never knew it as an unstable source. I now know to use
sources from websites like end with .org, .edu, or .gov. The internet has so many endless and
pointless information that it can be really easy to get off task. It s easier to stay on task if you go
straight to websites that have reliable information. When finding sources it is equally important to

How Breast Cancer has Changed Lives
Breast cancer has a negative impact on American society as it has changed the lives of family
members, friends, and loved ones through the devastating hardships. In 2013 approximately 232,
340 new cases of breast cancer were found. If the numbers of cases stay the same in a ten year
span roughly 2,500,000 people will be diagnosed, unless something is done to prevent or stop this
world phenomenon (Targeted Therapy for Breast CancerPrevention). There is no set date when
breast cancerstarted to impact people; however, today it has been proven to be the number one
form of cancer. Breast cancer is predominantly found in women of all ages but it is not limited to
women, men are also diagnosed with this type of cancer. Breast cancer has a severe impact on
two hundred thousand people per year, leading to the development of hundreds of organizations,
that conduct many studies every day to find a cure; Susan G. Komen and Relay for Life are the
leaders in the field.
Breast cancer s physicality comes in the form of a lump on a woman s breast. Since breast cancer
is the number one form of non skin cancer; it influences many organizations to help victims of this
heinous disease. Breast cancer is not a current issue today; it has plagued modern society since the
1700 s but was not formally diagnosed until much later. Since the 1700 s, however, doctors are
convinced that the best way to treat breast cancer is to remove the breast (Breast Cancer Nursing

The Golden Legend By Nadeem Aslam
The novel The Golden Legend by Nadeem Aslam is one filled with many thought provoking
scenes. The novel follows the misfortune that surrounds Nargis and her friends and family. From
these events I found that religious intolerance was one of the main driving forces behind why the
events occurred. Religious intolerance is when a religious group refuses to tolerate practices or
beliefs based on religious grounds. Throughout the novel there are many references to both
Christian and Islamic prejudices and intolerance towards the other religion. In Pakistan, 97% of the
population are Muslim with the remaining 3% being comprised of other religions including
Christianity and Judaism; contrastingly in the United States, 1% of the population is... Show more

Aslam uses the characters in The Golden Legend to depict a Muslim society where there is peace,
while still displaying the underlying current of religious domination which controls the Islamic
society. Lily and Helen are targeted and receive little respect simply for being Christian. Nargis is
treated to the same hostility, although not to the same extent, because she has befriended and
supports them. This hostility is a catalyst to Nargis, Helen and Imran s
Lisa Curtis (2016) writes about Pakistan s history with regard to religious minorities. She
mentions the drive behind creating a true Islamic state and how this has affected the treatment of
religious minorities. Curtis describes the 1980s as a key period in the establishment of the discord
between Pakistan s Muslims and the country s religious minorities, such as Christians. With the
tightening of blasphemy laws in this period by Zia ul Haq more in a push towards having a single
religion country, resulted in an imbalance of rights between Pakistan s religions. Curtis states that
blasphemy allegations were often fabricated, and still are today, in an attempt to intimidate
minorities. Blasphemy laws are very vague with little detail about what a violation entails. But the
part of the laws that is most related to intolerance is that there is no requirement of evidence for the
charge of blasphemy. This results in many innocent people being accused of blasphemy simply for
their religion. In The Golden

Study Hall Research Paper
As every summer break comes to the bitter end there is always the one thing is around the cover,
school. And with every school year that passes by high schoolers are assigned new classes and
periods but for the majority, one thing they can always count on is study hall. Study hall is a short
period in between classes where you can get schoolannouncements, catch up on homework, study
for a upcoming test, or give yourself a break from the hustle and bustle that takes place during the
school day. Many students enjoy this period for extra time on projects/homework or to give their
mind a break for a small time. Although students enjoy it, some people believe it is a waste of
time that could be spent on classes. I argue that it is a essential time for students to help improve
their overall learningand grades.
Students are constantly working and learning, sometimes they may need a break to process all
that information and to clear their head. That doesn t even include how the time could be valuable
to getting work done which helps everyone. Maybe they need to finish reading a book or need to
apply the finishing touches on a paper/project. In the long run this can make or break a student s
overall education and grade. It s just not a break to do whatever you want, although taking a small

relief, relief that they can give their mind a break or have the time to do their homework so they

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Crowdsourcing
Crowdsourcing is the acquisition of public services in order to contribute to a particular cause. It
thrives on an interesting blend of marketing and public rallying to create business from the
wisdom of the crowd. Since computers have the capacity and prominence to replace and
represent the collections and creations of information, more general purpose crowdsourcing
projects (such as Wikipedia) have become hugely successful. But it can also be utilized to
promote niche interests. An article I ve read, presented by the BBC news, has reported on an
odd project in which playing a video game is supposed to make the world a safer place. In order
to understand how this could possibly be, context must be provided. To be fair, the project is only
in experimental stages.
Security in information technology is obviously a huge issue. Systems created by imperfect
humans can be breached. But there is such a thing as formal verification in which source code
could be tested and proven 100% free from security vulnerabilities. The certainty of this would
be on par with a solid and correct mathematical proof. But performing this duty requires an
extremely rare degree of experience and skill from a software engineer: every aspect of any
source code must be recoded and tested along with every single possibility of input to every
method (or coding function). As the BBC article states, not many people are capable of pulling this
off, and it s also expensive and time consuming. And

It gives students a better understanding of their academic abilities and prevents students from being
powerless in their own education. Grades have served to dehumanize students. Instead of being
seen as full, complete beings they are reduce to A students, C students, and students failing the
class. This judgment is not only made by their teachers but by society as a whole. Parents often
set standards for what their kids grades need to be and punish them if they don t reach the mark.
Friends and classmates compare the results of tests and report cards, making learning into a
competition where some are better than others. Additionally, and perhaps the most disturbingly,
for some students, grades become a reflection of their own worth. It doesn t help that in many
ways our future is defined by our GPA. In a world where grades carry such weight, they can
seem awfully fatalistic. A streak of bad ones can look like the end of a dream career. A friend of
mine is facing just that reality. Her GPA is lower than she expects and lower than what it takes to
get herself to grad school. With the added possibility of disappointing her parents or losing her
scholarship, each assignment is an anxiety provoking threat, which could take her closer to failure.

How are Literacy, Fluency and Reading Comprehension...
Literacy, fluency and reading comprehension all play a crucial role in determining how learners
acquire skills within the classroom. This paper will review a number of scholarly literatures that
give more details about fluency and reading comprehension.
Over a long period of time, the ability of a learner to read educational materials fluently has been
taken as the most thorough learning method through which the learner can acquire literacy. Kuhn,
Schwanenflugel and Meisinger (2010) argue that reading fluency should not only focus on
automatic word recognition as a way to assess the ability of a learner (p. 231). The authors argue
that there should be other methods to assess reading fluency through prosody, which can influence
the rhythm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Learners can have reading partners who can offer them confidence to improve on their reading
skills. By doing so, an instructor offers the learners the chance to nurture their skills in
comprehension, vocabulary, fluency. All these skills are vital for a learner to acquire the
proper educational abilities that can have a lasting impact on the learner s ability. The instructor
can help a learner to succeed in a reading program by offering the learner a chance to decode the
meaning of the words read easily through practice. Pikulski and Chard (2005) argue that reading
fluency can prove to be a vital bridge for a learner to perfect his or her skills in reading
comprehension (p 511). Therefore, the ability of the learner to read the instructional material
fluently is likely to have a direct impact on the same learner s ability to decode the meaning behind
the statement read. Fluency therefore makes it possible for learners to acquire the necessary skills
that can foster their ability to read and understand comprehension easily. Fluency equips a learner
with accurate word recognition abilities that can be central in the way the learner interprets the
meaning that is carried across the literature read. The instructors therefore can help learners
improve on their fluency by offering constant practical reading session, which can give

The And Of The Structure Of Dna
Abstract In 1979 Nobel prize laureate and the co discoverer of the structure of DNA called for a
precise method to gain control over specific classes of neurones leaving the others more of less
unaltered which will allow us to understand more about the profoundly mysterious brain. This was
the first articulated idea of optogenetics, which would lead to the development of one of the most
exciting areas of neuroscience. In 2005 Karl Desseroth and Ed Boyden publishes a paper detailing

In the following years scientists were able to target specific cells such as temperature and
chemicals (alexander et all 2009), however the precision of light is unmatched. In addition light
gives millisecond precision which is very important in optogenetics because of the fast pace of
processes in the brain such as synaptic currents and to allow the addation or deletion of precise
activity patterns The underlying theory of optogenetics is introducing a light sensitive protein to a
specific cell type, then activating the cell with light and observing any changes in function or
cellular behavior. The underling theory of optogenetics is introducing a light sensitive protein to a

SFBT holds that language and words are very important, and that helping clients talk about their
lives in more useful language can lead to positive change. One of the major differences between
SFBT and other psychotherapies is that while SFBT acknowledged that clients tend to come to
therapy to talk about their problems, the SFBT will not encourage them to talk about their
problems, but rather to talk about solutions (Rafter, Evans and Iveson, 2012).
One of the central assumptions of SFBT is that the client will choose the goals for therapy and that
the client themselves have resources which they will use in making changes (Macdonald, 2011).
The therapeutic conversation aims at restoring hope and self esteem, while reducing anxiety to a
point where people become able to think more widely and creatively about solutions. SFBT holds
that high anxiety can restrict cognition and attention to the surrounding environment and that, by
reducing anxiety, it would allow for wider thinking about possible approaches to problems, as well
as mobilizing their existing strengths and resources to address their desired goals (Rafter et al,
2012).

The 17th Amendment Of The United States Constitution
The 17th Amendment The American government was created based on the principle of federalism,
the system of government that establishes a written constitution that divides the powers of
government to a federal and state level. The U.S. Federal Government consists of three branches,
the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. It also utilizes checks and balances so these branches have
equal power. The main goal of federalism is to balance the central government with the state
government, and initially the U.S. Constitution established that the Senate shall be composed of
two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature (US Const. Article I, Section 3). However,
in 1912 the 17th Amendment was ratified, which changed how Senators are elected. Instead of the
people voting for state legislators who elect Senators, the people elected the Senators, making the
election process of Senators a direct democracy. The Framers chose to create a republic instead of
direct democracy in order to prevent social and elite groups from taking power. The 17th
Amendment goes against does not just oppose the Constitution, but it also disputes the ideology of
the American Government as a federal republic. Although most supporters of the 17th Amendment
believe that it serves as a better mechanism for a representative government, it is unconstitutional
because of its opposing qualities against the Framers who created the United Statesgovernment with
the vision of federalism and a republic. The

A Brief Note On Confirmed Cerebrovascular Accident ( Cva )
To assess this patient who has a confirmed cerebrovascular accident (CVA) due to right middle
cerebral artery occlusion, a formal measure that can be utilized is the Ross Information Processing
Assessment Geriatric, Second Edition (RIPA G:2). The RIPA G:2 is used to assess the geriatric
population and can classify, define, and measure their cognitive linguistic deficits (Fogle Ross
Swain, 2012). The RIPA G:2 is a valid assessment measure due to its high reliability and validity
(Fogle Ross Swain, 2012). This assessment includes seven subtests, which incorporate immediate
memory, temporal orientation, spatial orientation, recalling general information, situational
knowledge, categorical vocabulary, and listening comprehension (Fogle Ross Swain, 2012).
The connectionist model describes the different areas of the brain and how they process particular
types of information (Brookshire McNeil, 2015). We have a greater understanding of left
hemispheric damage. For example, if an individual has damage to their posterior inferior third
frontal gyrus of the left hemisphere, they will present with Broca s aphasia, which evidences as

right hemisphere is responsible for, we have yet to understand specific areas precise responsibilities.
Generally, we recognize the right hemisphere is responsible for behavior and cognition, perception,

Why Did Mrs Endo Die?
Introduction
In this essay, I will not only attempt to explain all the factors which may have caused Mrs Endo s
death, but also the causes and results of the 1995 Kobe earthquake.
Background Information
The 1995 Kobe earthquake (known as the Great Hanshin earthquake in Japan) hit Japan on
Tuesday the 17th of January at 5:40 am. It is called the Kobe earthquake , not because the
epicentre of the earthquake was in the Japanese city of Kobe but because Kobe was very much hit
the hardest. In fact, the actual epicentre of the earthquake was in on the northern end of Awaji

When the earthquake hit, it ruptured many underground water pipes, cut many electricity lines,
and made many if the gas pipes explode. Any one of these happening are bad, but when all three
occur at the same time, it causes many disasters. When electricity combines with gas, it causes
massive electrical fires, which are difficult to put out with water, as it has the risk of electric
shock. These fires destroy, but they also take multiple firemen, and many people and supplies to
put out, which distracted from many people (like Mrs Endo) who were trapped or suffocating.
Water conducts electricity, which means, when the water from the pipes combines with broken
electricity lines, anything that touches the water, gets an electric shock. Again, not only does this
injure many people, and make it very difficult for people to get around, but also takes many
supplies, time to fix, and was a major distraction to the emergency services which could ve been

Canada Electoral System
Canadians were subjected to the longest election campaign in modern history when the writs

Harper took a calculated decision positioned to favor the Conservatives as the passage of laws like
the Fair Elections Act increased electionspending limits and disenfranchised certain voters.
Moreover, with the First Past the Post electoral system with single member ridings in Canada where
candidates win seats by getting more votes than any other rival in specific constituencies, the
Conservatives only needed to win more seats than any other party. Unlike in Proportional

used to elect the upper and lower chambers differ, the more diverse the representation would be in
terms of political parties and the more these bodies would claim to represent different dimensions

parties with different seat counts, but more and different parties with different electoral bases

What Are The Challenges Faced By African Americans In The...
The life of African Americans in the 1800 was so harsh and unfair. Their owners would treat
them cruelly and made them work long hours. They were not fed and had no sanitation which

wouldn t even get prosecuted because they were the ones who ruled everything. They separated
many families from husbands, wife s, and children. Those who were not prepared suffered every
day because they were not with their families. Many of them never saw their family again. Two
factors that prompted the growth of the slave trade in half the century before the civil war were
the cash value for slave increased and the slave trade ended. This happened because the legal
importation of slaves to U.s. was ended in 1808. So, selling slaves became a huge business for

Latin America and the Catholic Church Essay
Running head: LATIN AMERICA AND THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
xxxx
HUMN xxx xxxx February 11, 2011
In 1983, Pope John Paul II visited Nicaragua in response to word that a growing alliance between
priests and Marxists revolutionaries was emerging in Latin America. Historically, the Catholic
Church in Europe had taken a strong anti communist stance. And so the emerging alliance troubled
Pope John Paul II despite the fact that priests claimed they were simply doing what Christ would do
in championing the interests of the poor.
When news began spreading throughout Nicaragua that Pope John Paul II would be visiting, the
reform minded Catholics of the country became hopeful that the pope would somehow lend his
support to the revolutionary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
6). But liberation theology, according to conservative critics, is a type of socialist Christianity. Its
philosophical underpinnings suggest that change comes through political activism and even war
and revolution if peaceful means have failed. In addition, liberation theologians view sin as the
root of poverty and capitalism as the most ruinous form of sin on earth. Thus, Liberation
Theologists argue that capitalism should be confronted as pure evil and replaced by a more just
and equitable socialist system. The Pope unequivocally denounced these ideas as ideologically
misguided. Many Nicaraguan Catholics were disappointed with the Pope s position on political
action because they felt like he missed a chance to bolster the revolution and support much needed
change for the people. They had lived under years of tyranny and oppression at the hands of the
conservative regime. And thousands of innocent Nicaraguan citizens had suffered gross social
injustices and even death at the hands of their oppressors. If the Pope had supported their
revolutionary cause, the people would have enjoyed the backing of the Catholic Church. And if that
had occurred, it would have provided the people with a sense of spiritual support in their fight for
freedom and equality. But the Pope s denouncement of Liberation Theology and the

Chlamydia And Rates Of Diagnosis Essay
Literature Review
Chlamydia Disease and Rates of Diagnosis
Chlamydia is the most common reported STD in the United States. Adolescent are one of the
largest groups diagnosed with chlamydia each year. The literature has shown that females are
diagnosed with chlamydia at higher rates than boys. The percentage of females age 15 to 19 rates
of reported cases of chlamydia are 2941.0 per 100,000 population and males age 15 to 19 reported
cases of chlamydia are 718.3 per 100,000 population (Center for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC, 2015).
Lack of Knowledge
The literature has documented that adolescents lack knowledge and understanding of chlamydia
disease, signs and symptoms, and lack knowledge that chlamydia can be asymptomatic. The
literature has documented that male s knowledge about symptoms of chlamydia are lower than
females. According to Lorimar Hart 2010 adolescent have awareness of chlamydia, knowledge
decreased as questions became increasingly focused on the disease signs and symptoms so that
around half of respondents were unaware of the asymptomatic nature of chlamydia infections. Men
s knowledge of symptoms was consistently lower than women s, with most men failing to identify
unusual discharge as a symptom in men (men 58.3%, female 45.8%, p = 0.019); fewer men knew
unusual discharge was a symptom among women (men 65.3% female 21.4%, p 0.001). The
literature has documented that adolescent that lack knowledge on chlamydia disease, do not

Our Great Nation Analysis
As we stand here today of this great nation, we celebrate, not the winning of sides, but celebrate
the unity of our great country. We have been in a storm of chaos, wanting change, fearing that we
will divide once again, but we will stand firm together to fight for peace and equality. For way too
long, have the capital of our great nation taken the rewards of our government while the people
suffer the cost. Washington has thrived, but the people do not get to share in its success. While we
celebrate our nation s great success, there is still little to celebrate as for struggling families of our
nation s, but this all can change starting right here right now because this is your moment, your
spotlight, and your triumphs. What truly matters right

Fetal Tissues And Its Effects
Fetal tissues are advantageous in medical therapy for a myriad of ways. Most commonly, the fetal
tissue cells would be used to treat neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson s, Huntington s
disease, and Alzheimer s disease. More recent breakthroughs show possibilities of the use of fetal
tissues for diabetes and an assortment of blood and immune disorders. (Bachoud, 2000) Fetal
tissues divide more rapidly than matured tissues, making them better candidates for the
experimental medical therapy. (Fackleman,1995) In addition, by using fetal tissues in the
transplant, the possibility of the host rejecting the transplant is significantly lower than that of the
use of matured tissues. (McCloskey) The objective behind the transplant is to restore the lost
functions in a person ridden with a neurodegenerative and otherwise incurable disease.
(Bensoussan, 2002) There are billions of nerve cells in a human brain. Neurodegenerative diseases,
like Parkinson s and Huntington s disease cause the selective loss of approximately 500,000 cells
in the brain which once performed critical functions. (Bachoud Levi, 2000) The loss of these cells
results in result in devastating, oftentimes fatal symptoms. The course of these disease is often
gradual and occurs over many years, producing an overall deterioration of motor skills and brain
function. While the cause of neurodegenerative diseases has been theorized, the specifics of the
causes are unknown. (Ezzell, 1992) Less than five percent

A Look At Discipleship Within The Millennial Generation...
This paper takes a look at Evangelism in 2016. It will discuss some views based upon studies of
the Millennial Generation and how they evangelize. Over recent years studies have shown that
although Evangelism amongst some generations seem to be declining. Evangelism amongst the
Millennial Generation seems to be exploding. This paper will generate some personal synopsis
based upon my most recent research. It will answer the question by presenting what some
churches are not doing, to bring us to a place of self examination. This is in no way an exhaustive
study, but one that is presented that has caused the writer to take a second look at Evangelism
within her own call. Christ has admonished us in Mark 16:15 Go into all the world, and preach the
gospelto every creature. Finally, it will conclude with a basic summation on what this writer
believes should be the goals of every born again believer.
How to Win the Lost in This Generation
Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore, be wise as serpents and harmless
as doves. Matthew 10:16 I believe when Jesus spoke this to his disciples over 2,000 years ago, the
message has not changed. I believe that he has given us some foundational truths how to share the
Gospel. He was reminding us that we have to be careful. This would seem like a great balancing
act. A serpent is wise, with keen eyesight and is quick to learn. A dove is innocent, meek and
gentle. Jesus saw a necessity in this

  • 2. Essay Justice Justice Every action or decision we make is either justifiable or unjustifiable. Justice is usually decided by society or the quot;norm. quot; The quot;norm quot; changes from one society to another. However, there are always laws that can be broken, consequences that must follow, and punishment that must be imparted. Justice can be seen in two different ways, social and criminal. Justice is in the eye of the beholder because we all have different attitudes about right and wrong. Criminal justice is a term that refers to the area of social laws which a group of people deem valuable in order for the day to day mechanics of society to function. Equal and satisfying justice has always been a problem. On May 30, 1939 a group of Texas Rangers decided to ambush and murder two people they wanted to destroy. They shot seventy five bullets into a man named Clyde and fifty four deadly bullets into a young lady named Bonnie. Of course, this is the famous story of the outlaw couple, Bonnie and Clyde. This action branched across the guaranteed right to due process. Another incident of the criminal justice s injustices occurred when the ATF decided to arrest David Koresh and his followers. We know how this story ends. The ATF was the reason that many people died and was probably the cause of the Oklahoma City bombing. A more recent incident is one that was taped by a helicopter. • 4. Literary Devices InThe Sound Of Thunder, By Ray Bradbury Watch Out! As they fight for their survival. In the short story, The Sound of Thunder, by Ray Bradbury, is about a man going into a time machine to hunt a T Rex. He was traveling along with his other companions through the time machine to meet the T Rex. They ended up encountering many obstacles as they re on their journey. Although people don t pay attention to what they re doing even if it s the smallest things, it can lead up to a consequence as shown in literary devices such as; simile, metaphor, and repetition. At first, Bradbury uses simile as a way to illustrate a comparison of unlike things reflecting to the character s actions. Simile is an expression comparing one thing to another using the words, like, or as. In the short story, Eckels and the company travelled back 60 millions years ago. Travis warned everyone to not step off the path, and began to talk consistently about the consequences if you would step off the path. As Travis was talking about the consequences, it was brought up that if you step on a mouse, and you leave your print, like a Grand Canyon, across Eternity (Bradbury, 22). This shows us that Travis said this, but meant that if you make any changes in the past, even the smallest ones, it can result into something disastrous in the future. It compares the effects of stepping on a mouse to that at the Grand Canyon, which shows the resemblance. This is one of the many similes used, but another comparing literary device is used as well in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many presidents in the past have passed acts to help and encourage students to stay in school but it has not helped because so many students still drop out each year (Joseph). Rodriguez contends that court abused its discretion under Evidence Code 352 and violated his right to due process and fair trial when it admitted of evidence showing his previous gang membership with the Mongol Motorcycle Club. ~(AB 14)~ He claims that evidence of gang membership unduly prejudiced the jury against him, remarking that identification of the Mongols was completely unnecessary and did not strengthen the inference that Rodriguez had a motive for the shooting ~(AB 14, ARB 5)~ We therefore review the record in the light most favorable to the judgment to determine whether the evidence of gang membership was more probative than prejudicial with respect to the charges against Mr. Rodriguez. 1.2 The Relevant Gang Evidence was More Probative than Prejudicial Rodriguez cites Albarran to support his appeal. Very few of these poems were published during her life, most of them only being discovered by her sister after Dickinson s death (Crash Course). Nearly all of her poems are highly complex, either having allegorical qualities or contradicting themselves. In fact, Dickinson s poetrywas so contradictory that she has been regarded as the poet of paradox . Dickinson was obsessed with the concept of death. While this probably was a consequence of her poor mental health, it allowed her to imagine death in many different ways. Another notable example is in I heard a Fly buzz when I died : There interposed a Fly with Blue uncertain stumbling Buzz (Dickinson). In this poem there are two interpretations of who this fly could represent: God or Death. No matter who the fly represents, however, they still serve the same purpose: to guide the narrator into a peaceful death. Another common theme in Dickinson s poems regarding death is the value of sight. To Dickinson, sight often is an allegory for observation or life. For example, in I heard a Fly buzz when I died the last stanza discusses the narrator looses sight. Between the light and me And then the Windows failed and then I could not see to see (Dickinson). This requires that there be a reasonable inference from a scientific theory s success to its approximate truth. The argument that realists are trying to make is that the best explanation of a scientific theorys success is that it is true. Larry Laudan refutes the realists argument from the success of science. To do this, he characterize his opposition as Convergent Epistemological Realism. Convergent realism is a theory about the nature and history of science. It may be, however, that the consideration of the bigger, more complex picture is essential, if targeted, effective action is to be taken to address quality of working life or any of it s sub components in such a way as to produce real benefits, be they for the individual or the organization. Whilst Quality of Life has been more widely studied (4), Quality of working life, remains relatively unexplored and unexplained. A review of the literature reveals relatively little on quality of working life. Where quality of working life has been explored, writers differ in their views on its core constituents. It is argued that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts as regards Quality of working Life, and, therefore, the failure to attend to the bigger picture may lead to the failure of interventions which tackle only one aspect. Empathy Altruism Model argues that altruism does exist and explains why people help others even though they are not related. The thing that most concerns me is that we may be losing the concept of the importance of human relationships. Jodie is thirty five and Shaun is thirty eight years old. They met while helping with a youth pioneer trek. They have been married for almost fourteen years and have four children. The model of their marriage is egalitarian. Both work fulltime and help with raising children and taking care of the home. I chose to talk with them because I selfishly wanted an excuse to go to lunch with them. Challenges Before marriage some of the red flags that Jodie and Shaun said to look for are being too dependent on a relationship. Each person really needs to be confident in who they are before they enter the relationship. Another red flag would be domineering personalities. It s good to pick a topic that you can actually find information on. If the topic you pick doesn t have any information on it, it ll be hard to write a ten page paper on it. This brings you to the next step, which would be finding information or sources on the topic that you choose. I have learned there are five main types of sources: primary sources which presents original words of a writer, secondary sources which analyzes somebody else s work, objective sources which uses experiments/survey results, subjective sources which uses blogs and essays, and living sources from in person interviews or phone calls. When you are finding sources I have learned that there are unstable sources out there. I figured taking information from a website that wasn t reliable wasn t really the best thing to do but I never knew it as an unstable source. I now know to use sources from websites like end with .org, .edu, or .gov. The internet has so many endless and pointless information that it can be really easy to get off task. How Breast Cancer has Changed Lives Breast cancer has a negative impact on American society as it has changed the lives of family members, friends, and loved ones through the devastating hardships. In 2013 approximately 232, 340 new cases of breast cancer were found. If the numbers of cases stay the same in a ten year span roughly 2,500,000 people will be diagnosed, unless something is done to prevent or stop this world phenomenon (Targeted Therapy for Breast CancerPrevention). There is no set date when breast cancerstarted to impact people; however, today it has been proven to be the number one form of cancer. Breast cancer is predominantly found in women of all ages but it is not limited to women, men are also diagnosed with this type of cancer. Breast cancer has a severe impact on two hundred thousand people per year, leading to the development of hundreds of organizations, that conduct many studies every day to find a cure; Susan G. Komen and Relay for Life are the leaders in the field. Breast cancer s physicality comes in the form of a lump on a woman s breast. Since breast cancer is the number one form of non skin cancer; it influences many organizations to help victims of this heinous disease. Breast cancer is not a current issue today; it has plagued modern society since the 1700 s but was not formally diagnosed until much later. The novel follows the misfortune that surrounds Nargis and her friends and family. From these events I found that religious intolerance was one of the main driving forces behind why the events occurred. Religious intolerance is when a religious group refuses to tolerate practices or beliefs based on religious grounds. Throughout the novel there are many references to both Christian and Islamic prejudices and intolerance towards the other religion. In Pakistan, 97% of the population are Muslim with the remaining 3% being comprised of other religions including Christianity and Judaism; contrastingly in the United States, 1% of the population is... Aslam uses the characters in The Golden Legend to depict a Muslim society where there is peace, while still displaying the underlying current of religious domination which controls the Islamic society. Lily and Helen are targeted and receive little respect simply for being Christian. Nargis is treated to the same hostility, although not to the same extent, because she has befriended and supports them. This hostility is a catalyst to Nargis, Helen and Imran s Lisa Curtis (2016) writes about Pakistan s history with regard to religious minorities. She mentions the drive behind creating a true Islamic state and how this has affected the treatment of religious minorities. Curtis describes the 1980s as a key period in the establishment of the discord between Pakistan s Muslims and the country s religious minorities, such as Christians. With the tightening of blasphemy laws in this period by Zia ul Haq more in a push towards having a single religion country, resulted in an imbalance of rights between Pakistan s religions. Curtis states that blasphemy allegations were often fabricated, and still are today, in an attempt to intimidate minorities. Blasphemy laws are very vague with little detail about what a violation entails. But the part of the laws that is most related to intolerance is that there is no requirement of evidence for the charge of blasphemy. This results in many innocent people being accused of blasphemy simply for their religion. In The Golden ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

And with every school year that passes by high schoolers are assigned new classes and periods but for the majority, one thing they can always count on is study hall. Study hall is a short period in between classes where you can get schoolannouncements, catch up on homework, study for a upcoming test, or give yourself a break from the hustle and bustle that takes place during the school day. Many students enjoy this period for extra time on projects/homework or to give their mind a break for a small time. Although students enjoy it, some people believe it is a waste of time that could be spent on classes. I argue that it is a essential time for students to help improve their overall learningand grades. Students are constantly working and learning, sometimes they may need a break to process all that information and to clear their head. That doesn t even include how the time could be valuable to getting work done which helps everyone. Maybe they need to finish reading a book or need to apply the finishing touches on a paper/project. • 25. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Crowdsourcing Crowdsourcing is the acquisition of public services in order to contribute to a particular cause. It thrives on an interesting blend of marketing and public rallying to create business from the wisdom of the crowd. Since computers have the capacity and prominence to replace and represent the collections and creations of information, more general purpose crowdsourcing projects (such as Wikipedia) have become hugely successful. But it can also be utilized to promote niche interests. An article I ve read, presented by the BBC news, has reported on an odd project in which playing a video game is supposed to make the world a safer place. In order to understand how this could possibly be, context must be provided. To be fair, the project is only in experimental stages. Security in information technology is obviously a huge issue. Systems created by imperfect humans can be breached. But there is such a thing as formal verification in which source code could be tested and proven 100% free from security vulnerabilities. The certainty of this would be on par with a solid and correct mathematical proof. But performing this duty requires an extremely rare degree of experience and skill from a software engineer: every aspect of any source code must be recoded and tested along with every single possibility of input to every method (or coding function). As the BBC article states, not many people are capable of pulling this off, and it s also expensive and time consuming. And ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This paper will review a number of scholarly literatures that give more details about fluency and reading comprehension. Over a long period of time, the ability of a learner to read educational materials fluently has been taken as the most thorough learning method through which the learner can acquire literacy. Kuhn, Schwanenflugel and Meisinger (2010) argue that reading fluency should not only focus on automatic word recognition as a way to assess the ability of a learner (p. 231). The authors argue that there should be other methods to assess reading fluency through prosody, which can influence the rhythm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By doing so, an instructor offers the learners the chance to nurture their skills in comprehension, vocabulary, fluency. All these skills are vital for a learner to acquire the proper educational abilities that can have a lasting impact on the learner s ability. The instructor can help a learner to succeed in a reading program by offering the learner a chance to decode the meaning of the words read easily through practice. Pikulski and Chard (2005) argue that reading fluency can prove to be a vital bridge for a learner to perfect his or her skills in reading comprehension (p 511). Therefore, the ability of the learner to read the instructional material fluently is likely to have a direct impact on the same learner s ability to decode the meaning behind the statement read. Fluency therefore makes it possible for learners to acquire the necessary skills that can foster their ability to read and understand comprehension easily. One of the central assumptions of SFBT is that the client will choose the goals for therapy and that the client themselves have resources which they will use in making changes (Macdonald, 2011). The therapeutic conversation aims at restoring hope and self esteem, while reducing anxiety to a point where people become able to think more widely and creatively about solutions. The 17th Amendment Of The United States Constitution The 17th Amendment The American government was created based on the principle of federalism, the system of government that establishes a written constitution that divides the powers of government to a federal and state level. The U.S. Federal Government consists of three branches, the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. It also utilizes checks and balances so these branches have equal power. The main goal of federalism is to balance the central government with the state government, and initially the U.S. Constitution established that the Senate shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature (US Const. Article I, Section 3). However, in 1912 the 17th Amendment was ratified, which changed how Senators are elected. Instead of the people voting for state legislators who elect Senators, the people elected the Senators, making the election process of Senators a direct democracy. The Framers chose to create a republic instead of direct democracy in order to prevent social and elite groups from taking power. The 17th Amendment goes against does not just oppose the Constitution, but it also disputes the ideology of the American Government as a federal republic. Its philosophical underpinnings suggest that change comes through political activism and even war and revolution if peaceful means have failed. In addition, liberation theologians view sin as the root of poverty and capitalism as the most ruinous form of sin on earth. Thus, Liberation Theologists argue that capitalism should be confronted as pure evil and replaced by a more just and equitable socialist system. The Pope unequivocally denounced these ideas as ideologically misguided. Many Nicaraguan Catholics were disappointed with the Pope s position on political action because they felt like he missed a chance to bolster the revolution and support much needed change for the people. And if that had occurred, it would have provided the people with a sense of spiritual support in their fight for freedom and equality. But the Pope s denouncement of Liberation Theology and the ... • 43. Fetal Tissues And Its Effects Fetal tissues are advantageous in medical therapy for a myriad of ways. Most commonly, the fetal tissue cells would be used to treat neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson s, Huntington s disease, and Alzheimer s disease. More recent breakthroughs show possibilities of the use of fetal tissues for diabetes and an assortment of blood and immune disorders. (Bachoud, 2000) Fetal tissues divide more rapidly than matured tissues, making them better candidates for the experimental medical therapy. (Fackleman,1995) In addition, by using fetal tissues in the transplant, the possibility of the host rejecting the transplant is significantly lower than that of the use of matured tissues. (McCloskey) The objective behind the transplant is to restore the lost functions in a person ridden with a neurodegenerative and otherwise incurable disease. (Bensoussan, 2002) There are billions of nerve cells in a human brain. Neurodegenerative diseases, like Parkinson s and Huntington s disease cause the selective loss of approximately 500,000 cells in the brain which once performed critical functions. (Bachoud Levi, 2000) The loss of these cells results in result in devastating, oftentimes fatal symptoms. The course of these disease is often gradual and occurs over many years, producing an overall deterioration of motor skills and brain function. While the cause of neurodegenerative diseases has been theorized, the specifics of the causes are unknown. (Ezzell, 1992) Less than five percent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. A Look At Discipleship Within The Millennial Generation... This paper takes a look at Evangelism in 2016. It will discuss some views based upon studies of the Millennial Generation and how they evangelize. Over recent years studies have shown that although Evangelism amongst some generations seem to be declining. Evangelism amongst the Millennial Generation seems to be exploding. This paper will generate some personal synopsis based upon my most recent research. It will answer the question by presenting what some churches are not doing, to bring us to a place of self examination. This is in no way an exhaustive study, but one that is presented that has caused the writer to take a second look at Evangelism within her own call. Christ has admonished us in Mark 16:15 Go into all the world, and preach the gospelto every creature. Finally, it will conclude with a basic summation on what this writer believes should be the goals of every born again believer. How to Win the Lost in This Generation Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore, be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16 I believe when Jesus spoke this to his disciples over 2,000 years ago, the message has not changed. I believe that he has given us some foundational truths how to share the Gospel. He was reminding us that we have to be careful. This would seem like a great balancing act. A serpent is wise, with keen eyesight and is quick to learn. A dove is innocent, meek and gentle. Jesus saw a necessity in this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
