K M Mani The Fall Of A Political Behemoth
K M Mani: The fall of a political behemoth.
The mightier they are, the harder they fall . This idiom rings true to the core in the
case of K M Mani, the doyen of Kerala politics. One of the most powerful figures in
contemporary Kerala politics, he was admired across the political spectrum. In fact
even hardened political opponents used to call him Mani sir in an apparent show
of respect. Grapevine goes that even the former President, K R Narayanan
addressed him by that name. It will be difficult to believe that the man who had to
resign after being in the eye of a storm over a bar bribery scandal had the highest
political stock in the state barely a year ago, political parties of various hues, from
the left, right, and center of the political spectrum were fighting each other to court
him. Everyone was seeing him as a CM prospect. While CPM saw him as the ... Show

A firebrand youth leader in the 60s, he switched to Kerala congress when it was
formed under KM George after a split in the Congress party in 1964. He won his first
elections the very next year from Pala, a constituency synonymous with his name,
having represented it without a break ever since. Mani s first tryst with executive
power came in 1974 when he was sworn in as the Finance minister in the Achuta
Menon government. A political genius par excellence, he gradually became all
powerful in his party by ruthlessly sidelining rival power centers [even engineering
splits when it suited him] and served as a minister for over 20 years. He even gave
a new definition to proletariat by proclaiming that everyone who toils hard to
belong to the class rather than the Marxist definition of involving only those
working under a capitalist for wages. A man, who handled various portfolios, he
managed to stamp his own hallmark everywhere and was regarded as an

Raising Children In The Twenty First Century
Raising kids in the twenty first century challenges parents more than ever. Culture
calls out to kids, wanting to form them, while many parents want their kids to grow
up with a biblical background and faith based set of values. So how can a parent ride
against the tide of culture to raise strong kids with strong faith? Church attendance
certainly makes a different, but parents need to be parents, and they need to use the
resources that we have available today.
Consult your local Christian book store, or even the Christian section of a secular
book store. You will be amazed at the resources out there that can give you the
answers you need to help raising your children.
Both parents should seek out additional resources. Many times just the
Theme Of The Great Enigma
In The Great Enigma: new collected poems written by Tomas Tranströmer and
translated by Robin Fulton, Tranströmer uses storms in a number of his poems to
communicate ideas. In A Winter Night (p68) Tranströmer uses two storms in
conjunction to communicate the idea of global consciousness. In Downpour over the
Interior (p88) Tranströmer uses a stormto show how the past and the present are
linked, and also demonstrates the idea of global consciousness. To help convey these
ideas, Tranströmer uses a variety of poetic devices such as personification,
metaphor, contrast and many others to reinforce and emphasise these ideas by
drawing the reader s attention to key phrases which give meaning.

Tranströmer uses the storm to instil the moment of reflection on the past and as the
medium to the past. In the first stanza Tranströmer personifies the storm with the
rain is hammering, and The thunder rumbles, a cacophonous and plangent
combination which gives an ominous feel to the storm. The storm is personified
further with the use of the following words; roar, strikes, clap, whisper and bellow.
In stanzas 9 and 11 the storm whispers to the mud and the thunder is described as a
child s voice, suggesting the storm trying to communicate an indistinct message as a
child does, but is lacks vocabulary and coherent articulation. The need for headlights
in the middle of a summer day indicates very heavy rain, giving us a sense of the
magnitude of the storm, with people pulling over to wait for it to pass. In the second
stanza Tranströmer writes smoke pours down chimneys a striking image showing
that things that normally come out are going in, hiding from the storm. This is
reinforced by All living things huddle... A movement inwards, feel life stronger.
When the man in the poem pulls over, he feels a vulnerability to the storm and his
The Diagnostic Achievements Of Gene Wilder
Gene Wilder, who established himself as one of America s foremost comic actors
with his delightfully neurotic performances in three films directed by Mel Brooks;
his eccentric star turn in the family classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory ;
and his winning chemistry with Richard Pryor in the box office smash Stir Crazy,
died on Sunday night at his home in Stamford, Conn. He was 83.
Eric Weissmann, who was Mr. Wilder s lawyer for many years, confirmed the death.
A nephew, Jordan Walker Pearlman, said that the cause was complications of
Alzheimer s disease.
Mr. Wilder s rule for comedywas simple: Don t try to make it funny; try to make it

Wilder was an accomplished stage actor as well as a screenwriter, a novelist and
the director of four movies in which he starred. (He directed, he once said, in order
to protect what I wrote, which I wrote in order to act. ) But he was best known for
playing roles on the big screen that might have been ripped from the pages of the
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
He made his movie debut in 1967 in Arthur Penn s celebrated crime drama, Bonnie
and Clyde, in which he was memorably hysterical as an undertaker kidnapped by
the notorious Depression era bank robbers played by Faye Dunaway and Warren
Beatty. He was even more hysterical, and even more memorable, a year later in The
Producers, Mr. Brooks s first film and the basis of his later Broadway hit.
Mr. Wilder played the security blanket clutching accountant Leo Bloom, who
discovers how to make more money on a bad Broadway show than on a good one:

country with the leftover cash. Unhappily for Bloom and his fellow schemer, Max

Introduction. My Relationship Development Paper Is About
INTRODUCTION
My relationship development paper is about a girl named Breana Young; our
friendship was for about 3 years. The current stage is terminated.
INITIATING
I had first met Breana in the fifth grade; although we weren t in the same class, I
had met her at recess. The elementary school we went to was pretty small so
everyone in the same grade nearly knew everyone. We would occasionally make
awkward eye contact but never have actual conversation. Fast forward to the eighth
grade, Breana was friends with an old friend of mine named Nina, so I was seeing
her more and more often. Now that Nina and Breana had become friends, Breana
would sometimes eat lunch with Nina and I. She seemed pretty cool; I didn t know
her very well so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although we had two of the same classes and saw each other every day, we d only
speak in forensic science because we sat next to each other. Throughout forensic
science we d exchange laughs about the teachers we had and other students. One
day Breana called me by surprise, I wasn t expecting this because we usually only
spoke in school or texted each other about school work. During the conversation we
were discussing the upcoming homecoming dance and we began to talk about our
family dynamic and what our home life is like. As we were on the phone Breana
asked me to join her at Eleanor Roosevelt s homecoming football game, this was
the first time we had ever hung out with each other outside of school. After the
game her mom picked us up, this was the first time I had ever met her; after her
mom picked us up we had gone to her aunt s house where I had met more of her
family.
According to Johari s window the open box has grown larger because we are now
exchanging personal information and more details about each other. The hidden box
is still there because I m not fully comfortable with her yet and haven t spent much
time with her outside of school. The blind box exists because it contains Breana s first
impression about me and other feelings about me that I m unaware of.
INTENSIFYING
As my junior year was coming to an end I realized that I made a new friend, Breana.
It was to my surprise because I had a

they moved to California where both worked and raised a family. In the 60 s they

My granny instilled my love of books and reading. Every night she would read me
the same story before bed. A book that I still cherish, the little golden book version of
Heidi. I believed I could be Heidi and my granny encourage my imagination, sewing
me clothes like Heidi wore in the pages of my book. My imagination and love of
reading grew and she encouraged it always. In her home, there were bookshelves and
boxes filled with books and as soon as I learned how I began to read to her.
My granny was the only person in my family to have a college degree. I am the
second because of her. From middle school on we talked about college, where I
would go, and what I would do when I grew up. Parents encourage careers that lead
to the greatest profit, mine were no different. My granny never encouraged me to
choose a career based on the profit. She only encouraged me to choose what made
me happy. Life had it s own plan and some things changed how my educational
journey would pan out, but that didn t make it impossible. Because of her I knew

Pittsburgh Music History
Throughout Pittsburgh history, the area has produced many acclaimed musicians
and music organizations that have created music that has been enjoyed across
America. Pittsburgh is a city of music with a history in Jazz, Classical, Pop, Doo
Wop, Rock, and most currently Rap. Many of Pittsburgh s old musicians are award
winning performers and song writers who have sold millions of records. Their music
can now be heard on movies, TV, and even Broadway shows. These famous artists
would be nothing without their teachers, producers, music promoters, managers, and
radio personalities. This essay will take a look back into the roots of Pittsburgh to

In the 1840 s Pittsburgh s growing working class wanted more entertainment. To
meet this demand there was an increase in construction of new music halls over the
next two decades. The new theaters included the Melodeon Theatre, Lafayette

the new Masonic Hall, and the Eagle Ice Cream Saloon that launched the career of
Stephen Foster. It all began with Stephen Foster. His songs Oh! Susanna and
Camptown Races remain fairly popular today. Foster is acknowledged as father of
American music. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970, and
he was also inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2010.
Following him in the first signs of pop music was Adam Wade, Vaughn Monroe,

many more were Pittsburgh natives.
A baby boomer generation of rock artists emerged from Pittsburgh during the 1960 s

A Short Note On The Giant Tower Builder
Nimrod the Giant Tower Builder When we think of typology in the Old testament,
we think of types of Christ. The sacrifice of the Passover lamb is a classic example.
Passages in the New Testament (see 1 Cor. 5:7; John 1:29; 1 Peter 1:19) verify
typology as a legitimate form of biblical interpretation. But what about passages in
the Old Testament that seem to clearly indicate a Christ type that are not officially
sanctioned by the New Testament writers? There are many types of Christ not
specifically mentioned in the New Testament that are clearly types of Christ.
Joseph is a classic example. Any internet search of Joseph/typology will give
plenteous prolepses of Christ. The question arises then, what of Antichrist types?
Judas, Antiochus Epiphanes, Nimrod and King Herod and are some of many
examples. In the book of Esther, we have the reckless and violent Haman, a type of
Antichrist in direct conflict and bitter envy against Mordecai, a type of Christ. In
this chapter, the focus is on Nimrod. He is: A.) One of the clearer examples of
Antichrist typology and B.) Clearly a type of Trump as well. In Genesis chapter 10,
it says that Nimrod became a mighty one as well as a mighty hunter before the Lord.
The ancient rabbis tell us that this statement means that Nimrod went out from the
presence of the Lord, in the sense that he turned his back upon God and His truth, and
became a hunter of souls . Seeking to turn multitudes of men away from God and
unto himself. (The
Technology in Life
In the past people have difficult life because of many things and technology is one
of them .As we know, technology is very important in our life for many reasons, it
makes life easy, save the time and improve the quality . Day to day we see new
technology and suitable for everyone , so no thing stay as it is.If we aske old man
or woman will know how they suffered because of having poor of technology. In the
futuremany types of technology will change and comes with new ideas. That is whey
every country takes care of the technology. Omanis also go ahead for this and it want
to be the best. In this project I will talk about the future of technology in Oman and
how it will be effective .
when we talk about technology ,that means we human are talking about something
that made the life of easy and us do a lot of things in a short time . so my point is
technology is too important in this geuiration.
As we know, Oman has good technology and it provides the citizens with technology.
But we want do this plan improve technology and develop it by studding it here in
Oman and making new inventions by support the students. If we do this plan, we will
have great strong technology in future. That what we really want, strong future by
technology. So we have to start the plan right now.
Last point, Technology has effected human to good way. Because technology has
advantages more than disadvantage. advantages for future technology in Oman to

Enterprise content management (ECM) is the strategy of managing the content across
an organization, so that it can be retrieved from the database whenever it s required.
These content can be structured or unstructured and its very required for an
organization for its smooth running of process(Xue Yahya, 2012). Below figure
represents the steps involved in an ECM system of an organization.
Fig1.
Earlier the ECM systems were deployed in on premise systems with servers residing
behind the company firewall (ADOCS, 2015). Although it has the advantage of
control of security, easy integration, independent of internet etc. It was much costly
particularly in maintenance and was very time consuming for an upgrade or system
expansion. The scalability options were limited and the size of the document
continues to increase and there the storage requirement.
To address all the above issues of an on premise ECM system, organization started
opting for an off premises deployment like in cloud. Cloud computing as defined by

What Is an American Essay
What is an American Introduction Although the present day American is a totally
a different person, at the close of the Revolutionary War the same individual was a
European immigrant impacted by the nature of the American continent. In St. Jean
de Crevecoeur s perspective, an American is a race that results from a mixture of
Swedes, Dutch, French, Irish, Scotch, and Englishmen (48). This race consists of
unique type of people who are not governed by laws as strict as they experienced in
Europe. They are a breed of people who had no home and no country in Europe.

This is a society in which neither social class barriers nor economic class problems

everyone. In this society, the rich and the poor are not that apart as in Europe,
everyone is united by a mild government, with everyone respecting the law and
having no fear of power given that they are all equitable. The American is a new
man who is neither a European, nor his direct descendant. He is a strange mix of
blood which cannot be found in any other country. The American is described as a
person whose grandfather was an Englishman, his mother was Dutch and who has
married a Frenchwoman. The American is a person who has left behind all his
ancient manners and prejudices, and has received new ones from the mode of life
he has embraced, the rank he holds and the government he obeys. A person
becomes an American after being received in the broad lap of the great Alma

service economy. This is primarily due to the increasing importance and share of the
service sector in the economies of most developed and developing countries. In fact,
the growth of the service sector has long been considered as indicative of a country s

Trifles, By Susan Glaspell Essay
Susan Glaspell s one act play Trifles is based on the murder investigation of John
Wright. Minnie Wright s isolation and the death of her canary are the major factors
that led to the murder of her husband. Glaspell stresses the perceived supremacy of
males when investigating the murder by giving the men lead roles in the
investigation and by making fun of the triflesthat the women are choosing to observe.
It is ironic because the ordinary items observed by the women were thought of as
trifles to the men, but these items would have actually have aided in solving the
murdercase. Glaspell uses various forms of irony and symbolism to emphasize the
dominance of men, Minnie Wright s state of isolation, and many other key aspects of
the murder in her play Trifles.
The title of the play Trifles is used as a symbol to describe the way that women are
viewed in the eyes of men. At the time of the play, males viewed women as trifles.
Trifles are described as items that are of little importance or significance (Wakefield).
The title could also be used as a symbol to signify the importance of the so called
trifles that the women were studying during the murder investigation. It is quite
ironic because the common items observed my the women were thought to be useless
to the men, while after combining further information about the murder investigation,
these items would have been key to solving the case. Although they help Mrs. Wright
by hiding any items that could have

Guns Are Not
What we can do? The big question is guns. People say the guns are the big
problem. But the truth is it is not the guns it is the people. They say that guns are the
things that kill people but let s be honest guns can t kill people. It the the person

never kill one person but it is the person behind the gun that is the one. They are the
one that puts a bullet in inside the gun and the one that ames it and fires it at the
person to kill them. Then is when the government goes and states that guns kill
people. But is a car or airplane do the same things but you never see the world say

some individuals who have grown accustomed to a certain way of doing things, as
well as a feeling of being overwhelmed with new functionalities and a sense that their

Instituting such change as self managed work teams or participative decision making
can threaten middle managers and supervisors, and a change to resource allocations
that could possibly mean a cut in staff size or a reduction in budget will definitely be
seen as a threat by those groups within an organization that are in control of sizable
resources (Explore HR, n.d.). There are numerous ways to decrease, or mitigate
resistance to change; some of which are: * Education and Communication *
Participation and Involvement * Building Support and Commitment * Manipulation
and Co option * Coercion Of the ones mentioned here, most believe education and
communication are among the top methods of mitigating and overcoming resistance
to change. Communicating and educating your personnel and organization with
regard to the change in advance can aid employees in visualizing the logic in the
change effort, which can be extremely beneficial to reducing resistance as it can
alleviate the possibility of unsubstantiated and inaccurate rumors relating to the
effects of the change on the organization. Participation and involvement is also
extremely important, because when employees are actually involved in the change
effort they are generally more likely to accept it, rather than resist it. Building support
and commitment is essential on the part of management throughout the change
process. The support of management will help employees cope with fear and
Closed Flue Pipe Investigation
Closed Flue Pipe Experiment
Abstract
The wind instrument I will be researching in this experiment will be the pipe organ,
commonly used in cathedrals and churches. Pipe organs produce sound by pushing
pressurized air through a set of flue pipes.
Flue pipes usually have a circular cross section and are mostly made of wood or
metal. One pipe can only produce one pitch, so to produce a range of pitches an
organ will have multiple sets of pipes called stops. Organs can have as little as 12
pipes to as many as 20,000.
Introduction
All wind instruments rely on the vibration of air to produce sound. They all have
some sort of pipe or tube in which standing air resonates and produces a fundamental
frequency. This frequency of the sound... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Discussion
After looking at the results, it is easy to see that as pipe got shorter, the fundamental
frequency increases. A 0.340m length pipe gave a frequency of 236Hz, while a
0.100m length pipe gave a frequency of 714Hz.
Conclusion
The results shown above prove the proposed theory to be correct.
If I were to do this experiment in the future I would use multiple pipes of different
lengths rather than using a piston to alter the length. I think this would give more
accurate results. I would also consider using pipes of different materials to see if it
has any effect on the results.

The Legal Issue Of Sam And Matt
STEP 1: Identify the legal issue The legal issue is whether agreement of Sam and
Matt is valid to form a legally enforceable contract. STEP 2: Explain the rule(s) of
law with reference to relevant authority. To form a legally enforceable contract,
agreement, intention and consideration are the three main elements. If one or more
of the elements are not established then no contract is deemed to exist at law
(Monterosso 2014). The elements of intention to be legally bound and of agreement
are assumed to exist. The element that needs to be discussed here is whether a valid
agreement exists between Sam and Matt. An agreement is only legally enforceable
if the parties enter into a valid agreement where a valid offer is made and acceptance

An exception to the general rule is the postal acceptance rule which states if it is
contemplated that post may be a means by which the offer is accepted, the offer
will be deemed accepted at the time a properly addressed letter is put into the hands
of the post office, and a binding contract is formed at the time when and the place
where the letter of acceptance is posted (Duperouzel, 2014, p49). This was seen in
the case of Adams v Lindsell (1818) in which Lindsell wrote to Adams offering to
sell him some wool and asked for a reply in the course of post . The letter was
delayed in the post. On receiving the letter, Adams posted a letter of acceptance the
same day. After Adams had posted the letter of acceptance, but before Lindsell had
received it, Lindsell on sold the wool to a third party. Adams sued for breach of
contract. The court had to decide whether the agreement between Adams and Lindsell
reached prior to Lindsell on selling the wool to the third party. The court held that the
agreement was made at the moment Adam posted the acceptance letter to Lindsell
regarding to the postal acceptance rule. Furthermore, Lindsell who asked for reply in
the course of post , was in no position to refuse that the method of acceptance used by
Adams was effective. The postal acceptance rule is not applicable for instantaneous
methods of communication, which are email, fax, telephone and facsimile. However,
if both parties agreed upon electronic communication
My Own Passion For Working With Young Children
Growing up I have been fortunate enough to have been taught by some truly
inspirational teachers and I am well aware of the effect they have had on my life and
the choices I have made subsequently. My own passion for working with young
children extends from wanting to emulate those role models and have the same
impact on other children.
I have always known that I wanted to work with children; from the age of eleven I
knew that I wanted to become a primary school teaching. I am still as committed
now as I was then of achieving that goal. If being passionate, nurturing, focused and
determinate is what you require then I am most certainly suited for this position. I
am a hardworking, confident and trustworthy person with a keen desire to become
a primary school teacher. Having spent two full terms independently managing a
class, I have gained excellent first hand experience and an increased confidence in
my own abilities. I consider myself to be a very well organized, reliable and
enthusiastic individual who can not only work extremely well as part of a team but
also remain professional under stressful circumstances. From September 2011 to
January 2014 I have worked both voluntarily and paid at many primary and secondary
schools within Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. This has given me great experience
on how to support the teaching and learning of children right from Key stage 1
through to key stage 3. During this time I worked very closely with many class
teachers,
Pros And Cons Of Diagnostic Testing
The diagnostic tools that I have seen used at the clinic where I do my practicum
includes incision and drainage (I D) of the abscesses, rapid strep throat testing,
influenza swab, urine dip stick testing, and slit lamp examination. These diagnostic
testing provide quick result that aids with the diagnosis of the patients. The
advantages of the I D include pain and discomfort relief and faster healing time and
its disadvantages an increased risk for cellulitis and the reappearance of the pus in
incision site when the incision site is not large enough (Domino, Baldor, Golding,
Stephens, 2017). In terms of rapid strep throat testing, the pros include the ability to
know the next course of action in a matter of five (5) minutes and ensure that the
patient receive appropriate treatment. The cons include the chances of having a false
positive or false negative result if not properly collected and if correctly swabbed, the
discomfort that the patient feels. In addition, if the result is negative and the
constitutional symptoms show otherwise, sending the culture to the main hospitalto
determine the other strains of the Streptococcus would take approximately 3 days and
may cause... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the stick that is used to swab needs to go all the way to the nasopharynx,
some patients do not tolerate it very well. There is an increased risk of spreading
the virus due to the uncontrollable sneezing that results from the swab. On a
positive note, unnecessary testing is avoided if the patients are low risk and shows
obvious signs and symptoms of the flu and the duration of their illness. As Lab Tests
Online Australasia (2018) stated, the test should be done as soon as possible so that
the virus strain that shed during the first few days is determined. An anti viral
medication (Tamiflu) for influenza A B is given during the first 48 hours of
symptom onset if that is the case, otherwise it would not be
Network Built For Local Area Networks Essay
WANs are systems built for information exchange that connects computers from
anywhere in the world across the globe. A wide area network (WAN) is generally
used by large corporations or organizations. WANs are very useful to these sorts of
associations because it easily allows them to deploy data from their computers to
disseminate offices. Large organizations that use multiple facilities usually end up
using WANs. Smaller businesses are increasingly using WANs as well. They are
able to use WANs if they have at least two secluded sites. WAN usually connects two
or more LANs together. LAN stands for local area networks. The internetthat we all
use is very much considered a WAN. WANs have existed for many years. They are
methodical and controlled much differently from other types of telecommunication
systems. WANs are very similar to LANs because they serve almost the same
purpose. WANs are still a bit more intricate than LANs of course. In order for a user
to use WAN, they first would have to subscribe to a telecommunication providers
service. The organizations that choose to use WANs do not own or control any of the
communication lines that connect the secluded network systems to other computers.
WANs are not used to connect individual computers with each other. They were built
to link different LANs together. When the WAN connects the LANs to each other this
is called internetwork. Routers and remote bridges play a part to the internetwork as
A Report On The Company Embraer
The company Embraer has made a major investment in the Phenom 300. It s design

Aircraft has to not only be designed for reliability but also for maintenance. Basic
maintenance intervals are 12 months or 600 flight hours. The aircraft s MSG 3

third generation L 3 SmartProbes eliminate unneeded tubes and pipes between
probes and ADC boxes. All antennas and other external sensors can be easily

they are mounted in dry canisters so they may be changed without defueling the

The Go-Between
The Go Between
1. Overview
This book is a memory story: a man in his sixties looks back on his boyhood of the
middle class boy recalling the events that took place on a summer visit to an
aristocratic family in Norfolk in the 1900 s. The author uses double narrative, the
young Leo s actions told by the older Leo, and it shows us how it has affected his life
Firsttly, I ll introduce the main characters, their functions and relationships, then I
ll give you a small summary of the story, followed by the main themes and their
symbolic elements, and finally the style of the book. Leo Colston has two different
aspects, he s the narrator of the book, a man of about sixty year old, and he s a dried
up man inside. Leo is a young boy of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Disillusioned, he took his revenge changing one of the messages. The day of Leo s
birthday, Marian is late and her mother goes to look for her: the lovers end up to be
discovered. Pregnant, Marian is humiliated in front of everybody. Ted committed
suicide. Leo is disappointed about life, fidelity and love. Remembering that summer,
he wants to know what happened to Marian and goes back to Brandham Castle.
There, he s charged of his last message: telling to Marian s grandson how beautiful
and true her love with Ted was. The narrator has never married; perhaps does he still
love her?
There are a lot of important themes in this book, the most evident is the discovery
of sexuality and of the grown ups world of a teenage boy, the loss of his innocence.
He is scarred sexually and emotionally by his summer experience. At the end of the
book, he has turned into an emotionally hollow adult. Another main theme is past and
memory, L. P. Hartley begins The Go Between: with The past is a foreign country.
They do things differently there.
This book is memory like in The Glass Menagerie; it is a look through the dusty
memory of a sixty years old man. Another key theme is class distinction and its
warping effects upon the life of one small boy. He s from a disadvantaged family
and is invited in an aristocratic family. The father and the fiancГ© are aware of the
girl s affair with the farmer, but do nothing about it. They are
Termite Lab
The effect of pens on the Reticulitermes flavipes termite Abstract This experiment
was constructed to determine which type of writing utensil the termites were most
attracted to and why. The experiment was performed by placing two separate
circles (one red papermate and one lead pencil) on a piece of paper to see what line
is favored by the termite. The termite was placed on the lead pencil path first, and
then on the red papermate pen path to count how many seconds the termite remained
on or followed the pathway. The termite stayed on the red papermate line for a much
more significant time than on the lead pencil line. The presence of insect pheromones

During each of five (5) trials a different Reticulitermes flavipes was used. In the
course of the first trial the termite was placed on the red papermate pen path,
timing the termite with a stop watch, the insect stayed on the path for the complete
thirty seconds. Then the same termite was placed on the pencil path, and stayed
for a total of zero seconds. During the second trial a new termite was placed on the
red papermate pen line it also stayed on the path for the maximum thirty seconds.
Later the same termite was placed on the lead pencil path and reacted just like the
first termite, walked away from the pencil path. It was very odd that during the
third trial the termite did react to the lead pencil circle for 10 (ten) seconds,
meaning it followed the path of the pencil for that time. In the fourth and fifth trial
the termite did the same thing as the first and second termites they followed only the
red papermate pen path and walked away from the lead pencil circle. Results The
table below shows all the results from the experiment and even some extra
information. The table displays the mean of the times the termites stayed on the
pencil and papermate circles. It also displays the amount of trials used in the
experiment. |t Test: Two Sample Assuming Equal Variances | | |
Examples Of Political Zionism
When it comes to Zionism, it is the belief that the Jews constitute a nation and that
they deserve the rights of other such groups, including the freedom to return to what
they consider their ancestral homeland, the land of Israel. When it comes to Political
Zionism, it is the belief that Jews should form and maintain a state for themselves.
Every Jew does not consider themselves a Zionist; some identify solely with the
countries where they are citizens, reject altogether the idea of nationalism. On the
other hand, not every Zionist is a Jew; some Christians believe that the restoration of
Jewsto Palestinemust precede the second coming of Christ. Political Zionism did not
start with much, if any support. Some called nationalism a form of
The Negative Effects Of Social Justice
Mary Wollstonecraft, famous activist for women s rights in the late seventeen
hundreds declares, It is Justice not charity that is wanting in the world. The difference
between justice and charity can shape the way Americans live and think. For
instance, charity is appeasing the effects of injustice, while justice roots out the
problem and hopefully demolishes it. However, today in America people scream the
word discriminationor White privilege believing that it is the answer to all their
problems. They scream for social justicethat was supposedly never given to them.
They say these terms blaming others for their problems instead of looking at
themselves. The need for reparation for the past feeds their desire for social justice
and equality in everything. The new Social Justice movement has harmful effects
on America because it divides society, focuses on improbable equality, and pushes
one down to bring others up. White privilege, the concept of being at advantage
due to skin color has been the bases for arguments on improbable equal
opportunities in the fight for social justice. According to Su L. Boatright Horowitz,
author of Difficult Times for College Students of Color: Teaching White Students
about White Privilege Provides Hope for Change, white privilege is real and
growing in colleges in America causing white students to be ahead of the game.
Nevertheless, this belief is one sided. Where is the white privilege to those white

The Pros And Cons Of The WWII
Even though the United States emerged as a clear victor of World War I, many
Americans after the war felt that their involvement in the conflict had been a mistake
(Markus Schoof, The American Experience During World War II, slide 3). This
belief, however, did not deter the country from engaging in many other international
affairs in the future, most importantly the WWII and the Cold War. Right from the
Manifest Destiny, which led to expand its empire at home and abroad, to the World
War I, the country had come a long way from being somewhat a lonely land to a
global superpower of the 20th century. Its influence in the international arena grew
unprecedently after its commitment to the World War II, and like they say, the rest is
history. If the WWII was a resounding success to the American legacy, what followed,
the Cold War, put many implications on the American diplomatic relations with the
Soviet Unionand to the world. Although the rising Fascism in Europe and the
Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor drove the U.S. to enter the WWII, historians over
the years have laid equal blames on both nations for starting the Cold War. These two
events helped in shaping up many domestic and foreign policies for the U.S.
It is interesting how the U.S. decided to fight world war for the second time despite
many oppositions. As mentioned above, the U.S. collusion in the World War I
brought mixed reactions among the citizens about the wars in general. On the other
hand, the country was

Galileo s Discontent With Aristotelian Philosophy
1)What was Galileo s discontent with Aristotelian mechanics in De Motu?
According to Aristotelian philosophy, he believes that there is no effect without
cause; therefore, there is no motion without a force. In this theory, an object that is
falling down is known for the force that is cause by the weight and it is pushing
down the object; however, the resistance is the medium such as air or water. The
objects that fall are looking for their natural place; therefore, large objects contain
greater concentrations of heavy elements and it causes them to fall faster than small
objects. In fact, Galileo did not believe that all of the large hailstones were falling
from farther up in the sky; therefore, he decided to test his own theory and disagree...

Augustine s doctrine? He understands that God is an author of two books, Nature
and the Scriptures. The idea of Truth was in these two books; however, it ends
differently. Nature was known as the language of mathematical science and it ended
in physical theory. As for the Scriptures, it presents no physical theory; however, it
presents our moral destiny. 5)Why does he think that he proceeds with much greater
piety than his enemies in his astronomical view? He believes that he proceeds with
much greater piety than his enemies because of the way the enemies have suggest
the book without understanding it, weighing it, or reading it. In fact, they used
religion to argument back his beliefs. As for Copernicus, he focuses on the physical
conclusions that were involved with the celestial motions based on the astronomical

Furthermore, he did not ignore the Bible and he did not want to use the Bible
incorrectly. As for the enemies, they keep using biblical passage and ignore the
reason and evidences that he hade provided. These biblical passages are being
misused and it is not valid in his astronomical
The Enigma Code
Everyone has a passion, everyone has a purpose, but more importantly everyone
has an impact. In the beginning of the 20th Century, there was a boy named Alan
Turing who seemed like any other troublesome delinquent, but as he grew he
became one of the most crucial tools for the British Military. Morten Tyldum
directs, The Imitation Game, which is a piece of cinematography created to
illustrate the period of time during WWII where the German use of the Enigma
code, which is an encrypted form of communication, had not yet been solved. This
mystery allowed Germans to communicate freely, without having to worry about
other countries interfering.. The British force attempted to crack the code, but
there were several obstacles that stood in their way that earned the enigma code,
impossible to crack. The decryption of the Enigma code was such a daunting task
primarily because there were millions upon millions of settings for the transmitting
machine, and those attempting to understand had less than 24 hours to crack it, or
else the cycle started over. The movie focuses primarily on the leader of the team
that cracked the code, Alan Turing. It begins post World War II, in an effort to
demonstrate how Turing s sexual orientation lead to his depression and suicide, as
well as to highlight that the life a genius man who saved millions of lives was never
congratulated by anyone other than those who were already close to him. As one
would expect, Hollywood hyperbolized some of the

Major Forces That Are Leading International Firms Essay
There are five major forces that are leading international firms to the globalization of
their operations which includes (1) political (2) technological (3) market (4) cost and
(5) competition. Many firms initiate international operations to gain assess by
combined markets through exporting product or producing within the area.
Technological
According to (Ball, 2011) today s technology has allowed an advance in computers,
communication and an increase flow of ideas. Through the internet and networks
small companies can compete globally.
Markets
Companies use foreign countries to establish a business to avoid having their
competition take their business. With the majority of the population being in foreign
countries, outsourcing helps to generate growth.
Cost
Management utilizes lower cost by moving production lines to foreign countries
because the labor is cheaper, and can also lower other parts of a company value
chain. There is a reduction in the cost of generating and transmitting information as
well as a decline in transportation cost.
Competition
Competition is increasing because of growth in automobiles, computers, and
electronics. Firms are also defending their home markets from foreign competitors by
entering into foreign markets.
There are a number of reasons why a manager may not be able to successfully apply
the specific techniques and concepts learned in his/ her country in other areas of the
world. Each country has its own values, cultures and ethical

Walter Mitty Identity
Both The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Lamb to the Slaughter analyze human s
ways of achieving self acceptance. Walter Mitty s persona is not considered
appropriate by people around him, so as a result, he daydreams to accept his true
character. On the contrary, Mary Maloney s self love is built upon the presence of
her husband, so when he decided to leave, her whole world shattered.
In The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, James Thurber explores the topic of self
acceptance through the protagonist s daydreams, to demonstrate the strategy of
accepting oneself through fantasies when society s values oppose one s behavior. In
Lamb to the Slaughter , Mary Maloney s dependence on Patrick for happiness
implies that one often relies heavily on others in order to attain self acceptance and
adopt a socially fitting identity.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty presents us with a character who finds his escape

were isolated, large, and opaque. One plate had an isolated Phage with some small
and white contaminates near the Phage. The second Agar plate did not have
contaminates, but as stated before, the plaques weren t transparent circles. The large
plaques were faded.
Lab number 7 was successfully completed, but the plaques were big and clumped
together. My partner and I ended up using the plaques from Agar plate number from
lab number 5. It was far from the contaminants in good sized. It was also isolated
from the other plaques. Lab number 8 was a
The Iphone 6 And The Ipad 6
The world has become more technologically advanced than ever before. In today s
society, people have become overly concerned with keeping up with the newest and
hottest gadgets on the market. Like the majority of Americans, I never leave the
house without my smartphone. People have become reliant upon their phones as a
form of communication, navigation, entertainment and much more. September 2014,
Apple CEO Tim Cook released two new, advanced smartphones, the iPhone6 and the
iPhone 6 Plus. Apple fanatics, including myself, had been anticipating the launch of
the new phones for months. Several hardcore fanatics even lined up outside of Apple
stores across the nation anxious to hold Apple s latest release in their hands. [Apple s
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, both smartphones with advanced computing capability,
seem very similar; however, the two differ in size, battery capability, screen
resolution and price.]
The most noticeable difference between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus is the
size difference. The iPhone 6 Plus is the larger of the two phones, leaving the
iPhone 6 noticeably smaller. Both phones differ in height, width, and weight;
however, the depth of the phones is only 0.01 inch different. The iPhone 6 height is
5.44 inches and its width is 2.64 inches. Its larger counterpart, the iPhone 6 Plus, is
6.22 inches in height and 3.06 inches wide. Noticeably, the height difference is
exactly 0.78 inch and the width difference is 0.42 inch. The phones also differ in
Rheumatoid Arthritis and Its Effects on Today’s Society
Rheumatoid Arthritis and Its Effects on Today s Society Today in the United States
there is an estimated 1.3 million people living and dealing with rheumatoid arthritis
(Arthritis Foundation). One might ask, what exactly is rheumatoid arthritis? Well,
rheumatoid arthritis, also commonly known as RA, is a form of inflammatory
disease and an autoimmune disease. If the person is a minor, or below the age of six
teen, then the chronic disease can also go by the name of juvenile arthritis. The
juvenile arthritis is, Defined as chronic inflammation of the synovial joints, with
unknown etiology, which starts before the age of sixteen and persists for at least six
weeks (Hink et al 1). This disease can affect anyone with a functioning immune
system. Out of the 1.3 million people in the United States that have rheumatoid
arthritis, 70% of that number is women (RA.com). Once again there are no certain
reasons as to who receives this disease whether its children, elders, Caucasians,
African Americans, etc. But once they do receive the illness, then it affects them
immensely. The disease is systemic, meaning it can occur throughout the whole body.
It s a chronic disease, so it can t be cured (Arthritis Foundation). The pain, stiffness
and fatigue can affect the entire body. RA occurs when your immune system, the
system that protects your body from outside harm, mistakenly starts attacking healthy
tissue (RA.com). Rheumatoid arthritis is an incurable disease that is affecting

Black Metropolis Analysis
The terms Bronzeville and Black Metropolis can be used interchangeably to signify
the interdependence between the two as an emblematic space for blacks that
attempted to construct a sustainable all black utopia in Chicago. The Black
Metropolis began as a black community instituted from forced segregation that
eventually cultivated the imagined neighborhood of Bronzeville, where black
Chicagoans asserted their collective agency to legitimize their racefor complete
integration. The geographic imaginary of Bronzeville relied heavily on a unified [all
black] community, but intr racial antipathies stemming from cultural and
socioeconomic class differences undermined true racial solidarity leaving a
neighborhood and faction of the black population dispossessed.... Show more content

First, King s larger objective was to dismantle racial segregation in all factions of
society that prevented equal access for all blacks. Therefore, the dream of racial
harmony justified his criticisms of the racial homogenous communities filled with
working class ethnic whites on the Southwest side closed to blacks. By challenging
the discriminatory housing practices that limited entry to these neighborhoods, King
would end the slums by securing access for all blacks. However, King s dream of
racial integration was the antithesis of the Black Metropolis because the geographic
imaginary of Bronzeville relied heavily on racial
Taming Of The Shrew Setting Essay
Stories set in a different era use a setting to support a significant role in the
meaning of the play. Writers use setting as a way to establish values within a work
of literature. In The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare, the era of the
setting is in the 1500s. The setting played a major key in the play because it
connected with the current use of gender roles and courtship in that timeperiod. The
setting shapes the mood and the tone of a story or a play. There was the use of the
1500s renaissance era to symbolize the historical context that influenced the creation
of The Taming of the Shrew. The connection between the time period of the play and
its historical background in the Elizabethan era show the meaning behind the title
that is connected to that era. A Shrew was known for their direct aggressive attitude
towards others. An example of the shrew in the play is Katherine. She is seen as
rude, loud, besides herself and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the play, women are subject to a number of societal codes that make them
inferior to men. They are seen as the weaker sex, marry and bare children at a
young age, and can only participate in housework. They also were not allowed to
step outside of their gender roles while men were seen as the much stronger sex, can
get an education, own all land and property, and have the right to attempt to
subordinate women. Men also tend to have all of the power in relationships. An
example of the gender roles and power dynamic in The Taming of the Shrew is in
Act 5, Scene 2 when we see the use of diction in the way Lucentio, Hortensio, and
Petruchio summon their mistresses. During this interaction, the audience is exposed
to the sense of control Petruchio wants to have over Kate while Lucentio and
Hortensio use words that symbolize politeness and respect for the opposite
Short Essay On Creepers
Creepers
The creeper is one of the most notorious and deadly mob in the game. It has
explosion capabilities. If it senses there is just one block between you, it will start a
1.5 second countdown then explode. Hitting it will move it far away from you and
stops the countdown. In fact it starts cooling down. It will take as much time to cool
down as the amount of time it has counted down before explosion. Creepers will not
explode when near a cat or an ocelot, they ll run away. The best tactic to fight a
creeper is by shooting three fully charged arrows from a distance. You could also
shoot once or twice then finish it off with a sword to save your arrows. While in
water, creepers are generally less powerful. You can easily drown them by placing
two blocks of sand above it. When faced with multiple creepers fight them with an
open door between you. As soon as you attack them, they start their countdowns,
quickly close the door. This removes you from their sight and hence the countdown
aborts. Open the door and quickly attack them again. However, if your reactions are
not fast enough, they might explode. The most important tip when attacking creepers
is distance and keeping out of sight.

They have high heath, around 100 hearts, and spawn once per world. They are
found in the End. Have a helmet or better still a pumpkin as it will stop them from
attacking you if you look at them while wearing one. Have armor and an iron
sword. Coming unprepared to The End, will likely result in your death. If you die,
you spawn as normal at your default spawning point. The Ender Dragon will
approach you when you are at the exit portal frame. It will fire acid at you and if you
kill it, it will play a death animation and drop an exit portal. If you jump in, you
finish the game. There is a Dragon Egg on top of the portal which you can collect to
prove to your mates that you rally killed the
Andrew Rickley Analysis
Careless What separate s a person from their money is when they do not know how
to stop spending, but what keeps a person with money is when they know how to
save. The different stories that I read I learned that most people that come into a
large amount of money do not know how to stop spending. Saving money played
an important role in many people s life that won the lottery, well the ones that didn
t end with them going broke after they won the lottery. Being able to buy a nice
home, car, and treat yourself to the finer things in life is cool. When you don t know
when to stop that is when you have a problem. Reading the article about Andrew
Jack Whittaker a 55 year old West Virginia man that won $315 million by playing the
Powerball,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, when you re playing and thinking about the things that you will be
able to buy with your millions of dollars that you will win, such as that trip that
you have been planning your whole life. Even last week when my class and I
decided to play the lottery; I was thinking about several many things that I will be
able to buy with my millions. On the other hand, most people do not think about the
money that they are spending on the tickets that they are buying. The little dollar
that they are spending starts to add up against them; Think about the other things
that you would be able to do with that dollar such as starting a savings account.
Today, most people do not know the importance of saving money, it seems like the
meaning of saving money has been lost. When I was growing up I always was
taught to save money and not to spend your hard earned money on frivolous things. I
was taught to put half away because you would never know when you will need some
extra cash.
Some people might say that, it s okay to spend your money on things that you always
wanted. We all would want to have that big house or that dream car that we always
dreamed about, but that is when you must draw the line. Going from having your
dream car to having to take the bus is the outcome of being carless with your
money. No one would want to go back down that road; well I know I wouldn t want
The Renaissance Era
The Renaissance Era took place for a time period that lasted for approximately 150
years and during that time significant changes took place. These changes were with
the Arts, Literature, Fashion, and ideals. The entire age can be subdivided into three
phases: from 1350 to 1400 during which discovery of ancient texts and
experimentation with new art forms took place; 1400 to 1500 typified by political
stability in the Italian city states and the creation of recognizable cultural; and 1500
to 1550 dominated by foreign invasion and the diffusion of the Italian Renaissanceto
the rest of western Europe ( Renaissance Society ). The birth of the Renaissance took
place in Italyafter the most destructive plagues that caused enormous loss of life
and this was the Black Plague (Life in Italy). The plague was a tragic time which
killed so many people and was difficult to survive. Despite the plague, the quality of
life for surviving citizens of the Renaissance may have improved ( Renaissance
Society ). Life was still considered hard in those times. Children were vulnerable to
death and diseases and not many survived into adulthood ( Daily Life ). Those that
were born into wealthy families had a better chance of survival. At that time, children
were to act like their parents and they had no rights ( Daily Life ). Within the
Renaissance period the general attitude towards children began to change. These
attitude adjustments can be seen with the changes in the art work
King Tutankhamun
King Tutankhamun (1343 1325 B.C.)
King Tutankhamun lived over 3,300 years ago during a period known as the New
Kingdom. This period of time was called the New Kingdom because it was when
the pharaohs united upper and lower Egypt into one kingdom with the capital being
Memphis near current day Cairo. The reason I chose to write a research paper on
King Tut is because he is one of the most well known pharaohs of ancient Egypt.
Tutankhamun is most well known only by the discovery of his intact tomb in 1922 by
Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon.
King Tut was born in 1343 B.C. into the 18th Dynasty. Early in his life Tutankaten

Not much was known about these tombs and how they were arranged until the
British expedition led by Carter and Carnarvon unearthed the untouched intact tomb
of King Tutankhamun in 1922. This discovery quickly made King Tutankhamun one
of the most famous pharaohs in the history of Egypt. It also changed many of our
beliefs as to the mummification process and how the tombs were arranged.
Carter and Carnarvon discovered King Tutankhamun s tomb in the East Valley of the
Valley of the Kings. It has been recreated several times in museums around the world.
The tomb was actually quite small for a Pharaoh. It was probably built for someone of
lesser importance but at the pharaoh s unexpected death was rushed into modification
to accommodate the pharaoh. The tomb is composed of four chambers: the annex,
antechamber, burial chamber, and treasury. The burial chamber contains wall
paintings as well as the coffin of King Tutankhamun.
Before the opening of the tomb novelist Mari Corelli gave a public warning that
there would be dire consequences for anyone who entered the sealed tomb. Then just
seven weeks after the official opening of the tomb Tutankhamun s Curse struck. On
April 5th, 1923 Lord Carnarvon died and all sorts of

  • 2. K M Mani The Fall Of A Political Behemoth K M Mani: The fall of a political behemoth. The mightier they are, the harder they fall . This idiom rings true to the core in the case of K M Mani, the doyen of Kerala politics. One of the most powerful figures in contemporary Kerala politics, he was admired across the political spectrum. In fact even hardened political opponents used to call him Mani sir in an apparent show of respect. Grapevine goes that even the former President, K R Narayanan addressed him by that name. It will be difficult to believe that the man who had to resign after being in the eye of a storm over a bar bribery scandal had the highest political stock in the state barely a year ago, political parties of various hues, from the left, right, and center of the political spectrum were fighting each other to court him. Everyone was seeing him as a CM prospect. While CPM saw him as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He won his first elections the very next year from Pala, a constituency synonymous with his name, having represented it without a break ever since. Mani s first tryst with executive power came in 1974 when he was sworn in as the Finance minister in the Achuta Menon government. A political genius par excellence, he gradually became all powerful in his party by ruthlessly sidelining rival power centers [even engineering splits when it suited him] and served as a minister for over 20 years. He even gave a new definition to proletariat by proclaiming that everyone who toils hard to belong to the class rather than the Marxist definition of involving only those working under a capitalist for wages. A man, who handled various portfolios, he managed to stamp his own hallmark everywhere and was regarded as an administrator par excellence till all hell broke loose over the Bar corruption
  • 3. Raising Children In The Twenty First Century Raising kids in the twenty first century challenges parents more than ever. Culture calls out to kids, wanting to form them, while many parents want their kids to grow up with a biblical background and faith based set of values. So how can a parent ride against the tide of culture to raise strong kids with strong faith? Church attendance certainly makes a different, but parents need to be parents, and they need to use the resources that we have available today. Consult your local Christian book store, or even the Christian section of a secular book store. You will be amazed at the resources out there that can give you the answers you need to help raising your children. Both parents should seek out additional resources. Many times just the
  • 4. Theme Of The Great Enigma In The Great Enigma: new collected poems written by Tomas TranstrГ¶mer and translated by Robin Fulton, TranstrГ¶mer uses storms in a number of his poems to communicate ideas. In A Winter Night (p68) TranstrГ¶mer uses two storms in conjunction to communicate the idea of global consciousness. In Downpour over the Interior (p88) TranstrГ¶mer uses a stormto show how the past and the present are linked, and also demonstrates the idea of global consciousness. To help convey these ideas, TranstrГ¶mer uses a variety of poetic devices such as personification, metaphor, contrast and many others to reinforce and emphasise these ideas by drawing the reader s attention to key phrases which give meaning. Downpour over the Interior Literal Description Downpour ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... TranstrГ¶mer uses the storm to instil the moment of reflection on the past and as the medium to the past. In the first stanza TranstrГ¶mer personifies the storm with the rain is hammering, and The thunder rumbles, a cacophonous and plangent combination which gives an ominous feel to the storm. The storm is personified further with the use of the following words; roar, strikes, clap, whisper and bellow. In stanzas 9 and 11 the storm whispers to the mud and the thunder is described as a child s voice, suggesting the storm trying to communicate an indistinct message as a child does, but is lacks vocabulary and coherent articulation. The need for headlights in the middle of a summer day indicates very heavy rain, giving us a sense of the magnitude of the storm, with people pulling over to wait for it to pass. In the second stanza TranstrГ¶mer writes smoke pours down chimneys a striking image showing that things that normally come out are going in, hiding from the storm. This is reinforced by All living things huddle... A movement inwards, feel life stronger. When the man in the poem pulls over, he feels a vulnerability to the storm and his
  • 5. The Diagnostic Achievements Of Gene Wilder Gene Wilder, who established himself as one of America s foremost comic actors with his delightfully neurotic performances in three films directed by Mel Brooks; his eccentric star turn in the family classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory ; and his winning chemistry with Richard Pryor in the box office smash Stir Crazy, died on Sunday night at his home in Stamford, Conn. He was 83. Eric Weissmann, who was Mr. Wilder s lawyer for many years, confirmed the death. A nephew, Jordan Walker Pearlman, said that the cause was complications of Alzheimer s disease. Mr. Wilder s rule for comedywas simple: Don t try to make it funny; try to make it real. I m an actor, not a clown, he said more than once. Wilder was an accomplished stage actor as well as a screenwriter, a novelist and the director of four movies in which he starred. (He directed, he once said, in order to protect what I wrote, which I wrote in order to act. ) But he was best known for playing roles on the big screen that might have been ripped from the pages of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. He made his movie debut in 1967 in Arthur Penn s celebrated crime drama, Bonnie and Clyde, in which he was memorably hysterical as an undertaker kidnapped by the notorious Depression era bank robbers played by Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. He was even more hysterical, and even more memorable, a year later in The Producers, Mr. Brooks s first film and the basis of his later Broadway hit. Mr. Wilder played the security blanket clutching accountant Leo Bloom, who discovers how to make more money on a bad Broadway show than on a good one: Find rich backers, stage a production that s guaranteed to fold fast, then flee the country with the leftover cash. Unhappily for Bloom and his fellow schemer, Max Bialystock, played by Zero Mostel, their outrageously tasteless musical, Springtime for Hitler, is a

The current stage is terminated. INITIATING I had first met Breana in the fifth grade; although we weren t in the same class, I had met her at recess. The elementary school we went to was pretty small so everyone in the same grade nearly knew everyone. We would occasionally make awkward eye contact but never have actual conversation. Fast forward to the eighth grade, Breana was friends with an old friend of mine named Nina, so I was seeing her more and more often. Although we had two of the same classes and saw each other every day, we d only speak in forensic science because we sat next to each other. Throughout forensic science we d exchange laughs about the teachers we had and other students. One day Breana called me by surprise, I wasn t expecting this because we usually only spoke in school or texted each other about school work. During the conversation we were discussing the upcoming homecoming dance and we began to talk about our family dynamic and what our home life is like. As we were on the phone Breana asked me to join her at Eleanor Roosevelt s homecoming football game, this was the first time we had ever hung out with each other outside of school. After the game her mom picked us up, this was the first time I had ever met her; after her mom picked us up we had gone to her aunt s house where I had met more of her family. According to Johari s window the open box has grown larger because we are now exchanging personal information and more details about each other. The hidden box is still there because I m not fully comfortable with her yet and haven t spent much time with her outside of school. The blind box exists because it contains Breana s first impression about me and other feelings about me that I m unaware of. • 9. A Short Note On The Giant Tower Builder Nimrod the Giant Tower Builder When we think of typology in the Old testament, we think of types of Christ. The sacrifice of the Passover lamb is a classic example. Passages in the New Testament (see 1 Cor. 5:7; John 1:29; 1 Peter 1:19) verify typology as a legitimate form of biblical interpretation. But what about passages in the Old Testament that seem to clearly indicate a Christ type that are not officially sanctioned by the New Testament writers? There are many types of Christ not specifically mentioned in the New Testament that are clearly types of Christ. Joseph is a classic example. Any internet search of Joseph/typology will give plenteous prolepses of Christ. The question arises then, what of Antichrist types? Judas, Antiochus Epiphanes, Nimrod and King Herod and are some of many examples. In the book of Esther, we have the reckless and violent Haman, a type of Antichrist in direct conflict and bitter envy against Mordecai, a type of Christ. In this chapter, the focus is on Nimrod. He is: A.) One of the clearer examples of Antichrist typology and B.) Clearly a type of Trump as well. In Genesis chapter 10, it says that Nimrod became a mighty one as well as a mighty hunter before the Lord. The ancient rabbis tell us that this statement means that Nimrod went out from the presence of the Lord, in the sense that he turned his back upon God and His truth, and became a hunter of souls . Seeking to turn multitudes of men away from God and unto himself. (The

What Is an American Essay What is an American Introduction Although the present day American is a totally a different person, at the close of the Revolutionary War the same individual was a European immigrant impacted by the nature of the American continent. In St. Jean de Crevecoeur s perspective, an American is a race that results from a mixture of Swedes, Dutch, French, Irish, Scotch, and Englishmen (48). This race consists of unique type of people who are not governed by laws as strict as they experienced in Europe. They are a breed of people who had no home and no country in Europe. Everyone is equal and the resources are shared equitably by everyone. In this society, the rich and the poor are not that apart as in Europe, everyone is united by a mild government, with everyone respecting the law and having no fear of power given that they are all equitable. The American is a new man who is neither a European, nor his direct descendant. He is a strange mix of blood which cannot be found in any other country. The American is described as a person whose grandfather was an Englishman, his mother was Dutch and who has married a Frenchwoman. The American is a person who has left behind all his ancient manners and prejudices, and has received new ones from the mode of life he has embraced, the rank he holds and the government he obeys. A person becomes an American after being received in the broad lap of the great Alma Mater, and he becomes melted down into the new race of men whose posterity and efforts could transform the world in the days to come. The Americans are the pilgrims from the west who have carried a great mass of sciences, arts, industry, and vigor, which began in the east. They were once scattered all over Europe but have been incorporated into one of the best systems of inhabitants in the world. The American is a new person acting upon new principles, forcing him to entertain new ideas and come up with new opinions. He was

This is primarily due to the increasing importance and share of the service sector in the economies of most developed and developing countries. • 14. Trifles, By Susan Glaspell Essay Susan Glaspell s one act play Trifles is based on the murder investigation of John Wright. Minnie Wright s isolation and the death of her canary are the major factors that led to the murder of her husband. Glaspell stresses the perceived supremacy of males when investigating the murder by giving the men lead roles in the investigation and by making fun of the triflesthat the women are choosing to observe. It is ironic because the ordinary items observed by the women were thought of as trifles to the men, but these items would have actually have aided in solving the murdercase. Glaspell uses various forms of irony and symbolism to emphasize the dominance of men, Minnie Wright s state of isolation, and many other key aspects of the murder in her play Trifles. The title of the play Trifles is used as a symbol to describe the way that women are viewed in the eyes of men. At the time of the play, males viewed women as trifles. Trifles are described as items that are of little importance or significance (Wakefield). The title could also be used as a symbol to signify the importance of the so called trifles that the women were studying during the murder investigation. It is quite ironic because the common items observed my the women were thought to be useless to the men, while after combining further information about the murder investigation, these items would have been key to solving the case. Although they help Mrs. Wright by hiding any items that could have

Organizational Change and Resistance Intervention Organizational Change and Resistance Intervention Honor Student University of Somewhere Organizational Change and Resistance Intervention Growth within any organization brings about a certain amount of change, and this can be unsettling to some individuals who have grown accustomed to a certain way of doing things, as well as a feeling of being overwhelmed with new functionalities and a sense that their once close nit family oriented business has exploded into an organization where they are now just a number on a spreadsheet. This can be the springboard towards resistance to change, but numerous varieties exist, and it is those that might originate from our organization s structure and culture towards our planned changes that I... Instituting such change as self managed work teams or participative decision making can threaten middle managers and supervisors, and a change to resource allocations that could possibly mean a cut in staff size or a reduction in budget will definitely be seen as a threat by those groups within an organization that are in control of sizable resources (Explore HR, n.d.). There are numerous ways to decrease, or mitigate resistance to change; some of which are: * Education and Communication * Participation and Involvement * Building Support and Commitment * Manipulation and Co option * Coercion Of the ones mentioned here, most believe education and communication are among the top methods of mitigating and overcoming resistance to change. Communicating and educating your personnel and organization with regard to the change in advance can aid employees in visualizing the logic in the change effort, which can be extremely beneficial to reducing resistance as it can alleviate the possibility of unsubstantiated and inaccurate rumors relating to the effects of the change on the organization. Participation and involvement is also extremely important, because when employees are actually involved in the change effort they are generally more likely to accept it, rather than resist it. Building support and commitment is essential on the part of management throughout the change process. The support of management will help employees cope with fear and

Closed Flue Pipe Investigation Closed Flue Pipe Experiment Abstract The wind instrument I will be researching in this experiment will be the pipe organ, commonly used in cathedrals and churches. Pipe organs produce sound by pushing pressurized air through a set of flue pipes. Flue pipes usually have a circular cross section and are mostly made of wood or metal. One pipe can only produce one pitch, so to produce a range of pitches an organ will have multiple sets of pipes called stops. Organs can have as little as 12 pipes to as many as 20,000. Introduction All wind instruments rely on the vibration of air to produce sound. They all have some sort of pipe or tube in which standing air resonates and produces a fundamental frequency. This frequency of the sound... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For each length, a sine wave oscillator was used to measure the fundamental frequency. A 0.340m length pipe gave a frequency of 236Hz, while a 0.100m length pipe gave a frequency of 714Hz. Conclusion The results shown above prove the proposed theory to be correct. If I were to do this experiment in the future I would use multiple pipes of different lengths rather than using a piston to alter the length. I think this would give more accurate results. I would also consider using pipes of different materials to see if it has any effect on the results.

STEP 2: Explain the rule(s) of law with reference to relevant authority. To form a legally enforceable contract, agreement, intention and consideration are the three main elements. If one or more of the elements are not established then no contract is deemed to exist at law (Monterosso 2014). The elements of intention to be legally bound and of agreement are assumed to exist. An exception to the general rule is the postal acceptance rule which states if it is contemplated that post may be a means by which the offer is accepted, the offer will be deemed accepted at the time a properly addressed letter is put into the hands of the post office, and a binding contract is formed at the time when and the place where the letter of acceptance is posted (Duperouzel, 2014, p49). This was seen in the case of Adams v Lindsell (1818) in which Lindsell wrote to Adams offering to sell him some wool and asked for a reply in the course of post . The letter was delayed in the post. On receiving the letter, Adams posted a letter of acceptance the same day. After Adams had posted the letter of acceptance, but before Lindsell had received it, Lindsell on sold the wool to a third party. Adams sued for breach of contract. The court had to decide whether the agreement between Adams and Lindsell reached prior to Lindsell on selling the wool to the third party. The court held that the agreement was made at the moment Adam posted the acceptance letter to Lindsell regarding to the postal acceptance rule. Furthermore, Lindsell who asked for reply in the course of post , was in no position to refuse that the method of acceptance used by Adams was effective. The postal acceptance rule is not applicable for instantaneous methods of communication, which are email, fax, telephone and facsimile. However, if both parties agreed upon electronic communication

A wide area network (WAN) is generally used by large corporations or organizations. WANs are very useful to these sorts of associations because it easily allows them to deploy data from their computers to disseminate offices. Large organizations that use multiple facilities usually end up using WANs. Smaller businesses are increasingly using WANs as well. They are able to use WANs if they have at least two secluded sites. WAN usually connects two or more LANs together. LAN stands for local area networks. The internetthat we all use is very much considered a WAN. WANs have existed for many years. They are methodical and controlled much differently from other types of telecommunication systems. WANs are very similar to LANs because they serve almost the same purpose. WANs are still a bit more intricate than LANs of course. In order for a user to use WAN, they first would have to subscribe to a telecommunication providers service. The organizations that choose to use WANs do not own or control any of the communication lines that connect the secluded network systems to other computers. WANs are not used to connect individual computers with each other. They were built to link different LANs together. When the WAN connects the LANs to each other this is called internetwork. Routers and remote bridges play a part to the internetwork as

Right from the Manifest Destiny, which led to expand its empire at home and abroad, to the World War I, the country had come a long way from being somewhat a lonely land to a global superpower of the 20th century. • 46. Short Essay On Creepers Creepers The creeper is one of the most notorious and deadly mob in the game. It has explosion capabilities. If it senses there is just one block between you, it will start a 1.5 second countdown then explode. Hitting it will move it far away from you and stops the countdown. In fact it starts cooling down. It will take as much time to cool down as the amount of time it has counted down before explosion. Creepers will not explode when near a cat or an ocelot, they ll run away. The best tactic to fight a creeper is by shooting three fully charged arrows from a distance. You could also shoot once or twice then finish it off with a sword to save your arrows. While in water, creepers are generally less powerful. You can easily drown them by placing two blocks of sand above it. When faced with multiple creepers fight them with an open door between you. As soon as you attack them, they start their countdowns, quickly close the door. This removes you from their sight and hence the countdown aborts. Open the door and quickly attack them again. However, if your reactions are not fast enough, they might explode. The most important tip when attacking creepers is distance and keeping out of sight. Spiders Spiders are ... When I was growing up I always was taught to save money and not to spend your hard earned money on frivolous things. I was taught to put half away because you would never know when you will need some extra cash. Some people might say that, it s okay to spend your money on things that you always wanted. We all would want to have that big house or that dream car that we always dreamed about, but that is when you must draw the line. Going from having your dream car to having to take the bus is the outcome of being carless with your money. No one would want to go back down that road; well I know I wouldn t want
