Day 9, September 1, A.D 78. I awoke, feet sore, mouth dry. All of the sudden, I hear growling
noises! Oh... It s just my stomach, again. I exclaimed. This is how I wake up every morning on
the roads of Pompeii, my new home. My pockets empty, nothing much on me. You can tell I am
not the richest of folks, I am in fact the lowest class. Life isn t very fun being a slave but
hopefully that will change soon, currently, I am not respected, no one ever makes eye contact
with me and whenever I say hi, they just tilt up their head in a cocky way and ignore me. I am
also treated like trash and call me names push me around, I feel different. The only people who

When I awoke in the middle of the night I went outside on the ledge and looked along the shore,
peaceful and quiet except for the small waves crashing ashore. As I turn my head to go back
inside I saw an orange, red flare in the night sky. It was on the volcano! Magma was oozing out
of it like an overflowing bath. I quickly ran inside and grabbed all my valuables and rushed out
the door, I stole someone s canoe (I m not sure who s). I then took my oar and pushed the boat out
with a loud grunt. It let out a loud squeak as I hopped in, I haven t been in one of these for months!
I thought to myself. It was shaking as if the earth was too, it was a struggle to get out in the water
but I made it safe, all in one piece. It was dark and gloomy and the moment had a horrifying tone
to it. I couldn t see past the surface of the water it seemed like I was on top of a layer of coal. I
tried to sleep but the rocking of the boat was against that idea so I stayed awake and waited until
morning. When the sun started to rise, a dark ashy cloud started to fill the sky, just as I thought
it was over, the horrifying feeling struck again. The sky started lighting up and let out loud roars,
lightning was upon us. Though it was morning, it felt like midnight, except, no moon, no light,
nothing except me and my boat... That suddenly changed though, along with the roaring I
started hearing cries of terror as flying cinders with a size ranging from pebbles to boulders
started plunging into the water. It was hard to notice what was going on but I knew Vesuvius
was erupting and people were dropping like flies. I tried to remain calm but it was a struggle. All of

A relational database is designed to comply with a term called normalization. Normalization is a
process of organizing tables to minimize the redundancy in the database. The design of a relational
database decreases the amount of space the database uses in a system. The relational database uses
fields to help reduce redundancy in the tables. Relational designed database use the relational
value in fields, an example would be a field for Book_ISBN and a field with Title_ISBN, could be
limited to just one field naming the ISBN (Safari).
If the book store does not have experience building a relational database they should (call an
expert) practice with sample data to identify any problems in the initial design. Once they have
all the problems worked out, the bookstore can move onto building their real database. At first a

thought of is the programs that go into the websites that are used on a regular basis, Facebook,
twitter and Instagram. Without them there would be a complete disconnect between every
continent, country, and city. No outside information would cycle in or out and trade of any kind,
be it information or the discovery of more resources, would be reduced to a snail s pace. The same
could be said for the information that doctors that work in laboratories and architects that build
homes use, without the different computer programs and the internet, the services they provide
would basically become non existent. Computer programs are very important to prevent loss of
life, such as the programs used in hospitals for life support or programs used to determine
whether or not there is electricity going through a downed powerline. For example, at Ameren
there is a program that is ranked as a class 1 system which means that if field employees didn t have

The fuzzy logic controller is responsible for controlling the length of the green time according to
the traffic conditions. The state machine controls the sequence of states that the fuzzy traffic
controller should cycle through. There is one state for each phase of the traffic light. There is one

Edgar Allan Poe s The Black Cat
He doesn t know what to do. He s going crazy and can t control himself. He needs help. Can
anyone stop him? In The Black Cat, Edgar Allan Poe shows the narrator s perverseness that takes
over the character s mind which leads him to making the wrong decisions. The main character
drinks too much to the point where he cuts out one of his cat s eye. After hanging it, another cat
appears and acts like the first one which annoyed him to the point where his anger and
perverseness is out of control causing him to attempt to murder his cat not only failing but killing
his wife instead. Poe uses symbolism, irony, and simile to reveal that the main character s

The spirit of perverseness continued to take control of the narrator s brain causing him to abuse
his pets and wife when he knows he shouldn t be doing it and it s wrong. He does it anyways
because he doesn t control the perverseness inside of him telling his mind to do it. It explains the
quote because the perverseness that he has inside of him is getting out of hand and controlling
him. He doesn t put a stop to it so he s doing the actions he knows he shouldn t be doing in the
first place. It shows that not just alcohol but other stuff like your feelings and emotions can take

Overcoming My Obstacles
Throughout life, many individuals encounter things in their life that they find difficult to
overcome. Many of which overcome such obstacles quickly, while others fail to overcome them at

Starting college, I thought I would have the same experience as did in middle school and high school
, it turns out that was the complete opposite. The people that I ve met in the two years of me
attending John Tyler never saw me as a person with a disability nor have they ever stared at me.
However, there were some instances where some people, including teachers, thought that I
broke my legs so I had to explain to them that I was born with a disability. Other than that, the
friends that I ve made while being in college has gotten to know me rather than look at me
