Cleopatra
Cleopatra had a very extraordinary life. She was born into royalty and became a ruler at a very young
age due to her father s death. She was married four times, first to her two younger brothers, third to
Julius Caesar and fourth to Marc Antony. She had four children with both Julius Caesar and marc
Antony. Cleopatra also had 5 siblings. Later on, in life, Cleopatra committed suicide.
Cleopatra was born in 69 BC in Alexandria, Egypt (Cleopatra: The Woman Behind the Name.) Her
parents were Ptolemy Auletes (Cleopatra: The Woman Behind the Name) and Cleopatra V (
Klimczak.) She had five siblings, two older sisters and a younger sister, also two brothers, Cleopatra

Cleopatra chose to go back to Egypt. On her way back to Egypt she made a stop in Cyprus which had
been granted to her younger sister Arsinoe and her younger brother and co ruler Ptolemy XIV, in order
to ensure that she was known as their true ruler. As Cleopatra arrived in Egypt she immediately took
steps to consolidate her rule. A document dated July 26 44 BC, Ptolemy XIV s name appeared, but
after that date he disappeared many say that Cleopatra ordered for him to be poisoned and it is notable
that around this time she dropped the epithet brother loving from her titles. Cleopatra confirmed her
son by Julius Caesar, Caesarion, co regent. Cleopatra also continued to build the Caesareum in honor
of Caesar. In Dendera, Caesarion was depicted in front of images of Cleopatra, asserting him as the
primary ruler (Ancient Egypt Online.) Cleopatra and Marc Antony spent the winter of 41 to 40 BC in
Alexandria. In the spring of 40 BC, Marc Antony left Cleopatra to return home. Marc Antony did not
see her for four years. Fulvia, Antony s ex wife had gotten into a movement against his wife Octavian
over veteran s allotments of land. In the meantime Cleopatra had given birth to twins, a boy and a girl.
Their twin children were officially recognized by Antony and were given names of Alexander Helios
and Cleopatra Selene. Marc Antony gave her much land which was very essential to Egypt. He gave
her Cyprus, the Cilician coast, Phoenicia, Coele Syria, and Judea and Arabia. In 34 BC, Antony had a
campaign into Armenia which had been successful and financially rewarding. Antony celebrated his
triumph with a parade. He presented himself as the New Dionysus. Ptolemy XV (Caesarion) was
made the co ruler with his mother and was also called the King of Kings, Cleopatra was called the
Queen of Kings, Alexander was named Great

Motivation Is Life
Motivation is continuity for life. While there are many difficulties in life they can be overcome.
Motivation is our value of life. There is not a single person with ought the ability to motivated, unless
they are dead.
Moving on in life is easier with motivation. In an article by Chris Jones Roger Ebert fought through
cancer and had motivation to live. That is true no matter what our problems, our health, our
circumstances. We must try . (Jones 34) Roger Ebert was a fighter of cancer who was motivated not to
give up even on his deathbed and had lived to see another day. Steve Jobs was another survivor of
cancer in his article he learned to live and appreciated seeing another day I had the surgery and I m
fine now . (Job21) Jobs once went awry, but after his recovery he saw life differently and I hope it s
the closets I get for a few more decades . The families who lost loved one during the September 11
attacks, in an article by Amanda Ripley, wanted to move on after receiving what they felt they
deserved. I feel like I am entitled to something . (Ripley13) Those families were motivated to receive
the funding that their family member was worth in order to move on with their lives. Each one of
these people with the help of motivation was inspired to move on, given that they had the right amount
of time to do it.
Yet, the exact struggle that some may have with motivation is the short amount of time given on this
Earth. In An article by Chris Jones Roger Ebert s lifetime

Favorite Moments Research Paper
Some of my favorite moments in the past three years have been at summer camps. First two at Camp
Foster in Okoboji, Iowa; the third at Camp Chief Ouray in Colorado. It s difficult to pick one or two of
my favorite moments from these three years, but one thing is certain, I learned more from my three
years working with kids than any life experiences thus far. People often ask me, why do you enjoy
working with kids? The best answer I can think of is simple. I love working with kids because it s
challenging. The challenge is twofold, kids are in constant need of justification, and kids push you to
think creatively. Anyone that has experience with kids knows a child s favorite question is why? Why
is it their favorite? (See what I did there?) It s their favorite question because their actions need
justification. If you are unable to provide adequate justification and purpose for doing a task, good
luck! Every camp counselor, parent, and teacher knows the worst way to respond to a question is
because I said so . This constant desire for justification provides you with plenty of ... Show more

They try to use an arithmetic approach. If you know what the problem is, you can solve for x. This
process is very logical and systematic. Most adults can look at the facts and solve systematically.
When kids look at a problem they see the facts and challenge the intellectual basis for these
assumptions. They think, why do we need to do it that way? Is there another way we can achieve the
same end? In other words, they look at the math problem and say, why can t we change the variables?
For kids, everything is in play. I believe our faith, along with many other areas, requires us to be
childlike. It seems as if we always fall short. We need more of it! We need to look at problems,
identify the variables, justify the variables, change the variables with poor justification, and

The Computer And The Computers
Jaciya Wade
Professor Kruse

16 March 2016
The computer is one of the most used electronics in everyday life. The internet and the computer
connects one place to another, Japan to Alaska, Canada to South America and so on. What is never
thought of is the programs that go into the websites that are used on a regular basis, Facebook, twitter
and Instagram. Without them there would be a complete disconnect between every continent, country,
and city. No outside information would cycle in or out and trade of any kind, be it information or the
discovery of more resources, would be reduced to a snail s pace. The same could be said for the
information that doctors that work in laboratories and architects that build homes use, without the
different computer programs and the internet, the services they provide would basically become non
existent. Computer programs are very important to prevent loss of life, such as the programs used in
hospitals for life support or programs used to determine whether or not there is electricity going
through a downed powerline. For example, at Ameren there is a program that is ranked as a class 1
system which means that if field employees didn t have access this program it could lead to loss of life
(Boyd). Becoming a computer programmer has many benefits such as compensation, job satisfaction,
and telecommuting, but every job has cons some of which are the current job outlook, health hazards
and general computer security.

Johns Reflection And Gibbs Reflection in Nursing Practice
Introduction: In this essay, I will discuss several issues that seem to bind nursing practice with
questions of ethics, sociology and management. Reflective practice is an important aspect of nursing
management and in this essay we discuss implications of discrimination in nursing care and examine
the importance of anti discriminatory perspectives in nursing. In this paper, the case study I will
elaborate is of an elderly woman who was of a non British ethnic origin and spoke little English. A
junior nurse visited her home to provide care but her attitude towards the patient has been
discriminatory and abrupt, a situation that calls for serious reflection on the issues of racial
discrimination at the clinical setting. The patient was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gustaffson and Fagerberg point out that reflective practice has relevance for clinical practice as by
understanding the contents of nurses reflections, it is also possible to understand the advantages of
reflective practice and how and when such measures should be used by the nurses for further
professional development. Fairley (2005) gives a consultant nurse perspective of a clinical role in
critical care unit that has evolved as a central feature of all surgical high dependency units (SDHU) in
large teaching hospital trusts. Advanced nursing practice is perceived not as the acquisition and
application of technical procedures which are usually undertaken by doctors, but also an integration of
medicine and nursing where holistic nursing assessment and symptom focused physical examination
go hand in hand. Fairley presents a reflective account of practical problems encountered relating to
role integration, professional autonomy, legal and consent issues, non medical prescribing, and role
evaluation (Fairley, 2005). The paper successfully describes a model of nursing applied to high
dependency units integrating the role of the advanced nurse practitioner within the medical and
clinical team an reflective practice plays an important role by being the main method of evaluation of
a consultant nurse perspective. In a

The Tax Reform Act Of 1997
There are only two things assured in this world: death and taxes. Whether you re a corporate employee
or an entrepreneur, you will have to pay your taxes. For every entrepreneur, taxation is a very crucial
factor in their financial investment s decision making process because the lower the tax burden the
higher the revenue which equivalently paid out in forms of wages and salaries or dividends (Lynn,
2015).
The word tax comes from the latin word taxo which means I estimate. It varies from different
countries and how they are paid. In the Philippines, taxes can be grouped to national taxes and local
taxes. National taxes are those based on the Tax Reform Act of 1997 also known as the Republic Act
No. 8424. The Tariff and Custom Code of the Philippines which levied the import and export tariffs
(Republic Act No. 1937) may be considered as a national government tax.
Under this group, we have the capital gain tax, documentary stamp tax, donor s tax, estate tax, income
tax, percentage tax, value added tax and excise tax. A capital gain tax is a tax imposed on the earnings
of a seller has gained from the sale of his/her capital assets (Castillo, 2015). In identifying the capital
assets, we need to understand that the word capital assets mean property held by the taxpayer (Tax
Code Section 39). Documentary stamp tax is an excise tax levied on documents, instruments, loan
agreements and paper evidencing the acceptance, assignment, sale or transfer of an obligation, rights,

Pressure Distribution Around Symmetrical Aerofoilc
Pressure Distribution around a Symmetric Aerofoil
Abstract:
The following report is based on an experiment conducted to calculate the lift curve slope for a
symmetrical aerofoil subjected to varying angles of attack. Pressure readings were taken at different
points on the upper and lower surface of the aerofoil. The report concludes that maximum lift is
generated between 12 º 15º, which is also the stall point. It also states that region close to the leading
edge contributes most to the lift force.
Introduction:
This experiment is designed to measure the static pressure distribution around a symmetric aerofoil,
find the normal force and hence to determine the lift curve slope.
For zero angle of attack the pressure distribution is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the graphs above it can be seen that maximum suction for all the angles (except 4º) exists at
Hole 1, which is 1.27 mm from the leading edge on the upper surface. The angle of attack at which
most suction is achieved is 11º where the CP value reaches 3.0; and it increases as the angle of attack
is increased or decreased from 11º.
The CP values at the trailing edge vary for different angles. They all range between 0 and 0.5. It is
maximum at 4º and 0º while it is minimum at 16º.
For all positive angles, the lowest CP values are found around 1.27 mm from the leading edge on the
upper surface while the highest CP values are found around 2.29mm from the leading edge on the
lower surface of the aerofoil. Such that, the maximum differences in the CP values exists at these
points, which are closest to the leading edge. The bigger the difference between CP values the greater
the lift force as the suction is maximum. Therefore, it can be concluded that the region close to the
leading edge of the aerofoil contributes most to the lift force.
The Lift Coefficient CL is calculated using the graphs 1 6. In this report counting the squares method
is used to calculate the area between the curves for pressure distribution on the upper surface and
lower surface. The area gives the lift coefficient at particular angles

Watching TV Does More Harmful Things to People than Good...
Watching TV is an experience that most people do for almost all the time. Some people believe that
watching TV does more good things to people than harmful things, but other people say that it does
more harmful things to people than good things. The people who say that TV does more harmful
things than good things are doctors who know about things that are good and bad in people s health
and the people who say that TV is good for you are the people who watch a lot of TV. Since doctors
can help cure people and know what is good for people, this would mean that the doctors are correct
about TV harming people than the people who watch a lot of TV who believe that TV can do good
things to other people. Watching TV does more harmful things to people than good things because it
can cause them people to imitate bad behavior on TV, it can cause people to have health problems, and
that it can people s time away from doing activities that help them become successful in their life.
People who watch a lot of tv think that they are not harmed by the TV but this however is not true.
Doctors who know what s good for people say that watching TV can cause a lot of harm to people
since it can cause people to have behavior problems and can cause them to not feel well from their
health. One way that TV can do more harmful things than good things is that it can cause people who
watch a lot of TV to imitate bad behavior on TV. According to KidsHealth.org, it said that TV

Analysis Of Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince
Matt Hodel
Dante
Ms. Harlow
7 May 2012
Perversions of Hell in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince J. K. Rowling, along with many other
modern fantasy authors, owes a great deal to Dante in the formulation of her best selling series.
Though the subject matter she undertakes a magical world of witchcraft and wizardry would have, in
Dante s eyes, landed her in the eighth circle of the Inferno, fourth pouch, Rowling would arguably
have been unable to create the magical universe of Harry Potter without immense inspiration from The
Divine Comedy. In an overly simplistic picture, Voldemort might be thought of as a representation of
Satan, arrogantly believing that he has the power to conquer the whole wizarding community, let alone
the entire world, with his magical faculties. Indeed, similar to Satan, Voldemort exemplifies the
damning qualities of greed, wrath, violence, deceit, and betrayal every step of the way on his path to
power.
Nevertheless, Rowling s most visible debts to Dante appear in the aura given off by the darker scenes
of her novels. Such chapters evoke a feeling unquestionably reminiscent of The Inferno to anyone
familiar with Dante s work. Specifically, near the end of the sixth installment of the series is a chapter
in which Dumbledore, a Virgil figure, takes Harry, the Dante to Dumbledore s Virgil, on an attempt to
destroy the first of seven horcruxes. The chapter alludes to Canto III of The Inferno through a series of
direct contrasts with

Disabled In The Game Of Thrones Stereotypes
The Disabled in the Game of Thrones Bringing Elsewhere Home: A Song of Ice and Fire s Ethics of
Disability by Pascal J. Massie and Lauryn S. Mayer focuses on the disabled in the popular book and tv
series Game of Thrones. Season one episode 4 of the Game of Thrones titled, Cripples, Bastards and
Broken Things , features several characters that suffer from either an internal or external disability.
However, the primary two examples of disabled characters are Bran Stark and Tyrion Lannister. Both
characters suffer from very different disabilities, and unfortunately they live in a pseudo medieval
society in which disabilities are highly frowned upon. Their social status in society is highly afflicted
by their handicaps, but they are also lucky that they are from noble houses that help elevate their
status. Both characters have and develop different ways to deal with their handicap. Bran Stark, is bed
ridden after suffering a horrible fall from a tower that caused him to be paralyzed from the waist
down. Although not shown in this episode, Bran was pushed from the tower due to the fact that he had
seen something he was not meant to see. Bran is crushed by his disability at first, it makes him feel
quite useless as he has to get carried around from place to place. Furthermore it greatly hinders his
childhood dream of becoming a noble warrior and prevents him from climbing, which is one of his
greatest passions. Bran first sees his newfound disability as a setback but

The Best Research Approach For Sanitarium Market Research
Assignment 2
Di Zhang
110069398
Scenario 1
Discussion of target respondents:
The target respondent of Sanitarium is customers who did purchase so good coconut milk in the last
12 month. As the objective for this research is aiming to gain an understanding of who is buying their
so good coconut milk, how they are using, how they view so good coconut milk and if they use other
sanitarium products. And other group of target respondent would be sales people who work in the
market for Sanitarium products, because their feedback is also important to achieve the research
objectives.
Discussion of research approach:
The best research approach for Sanitarium market research would be the combination of qualitative
and quantitative method. Qualitative research is a broad umbrella term that cover a wide range of
techniques and philosophies. In broad terms, qualitative research is an approach that allows you to
examine people s experiences in detail information, it include method such as in depth interview,
focus groups, content analysis etc. (Frederick, 2015) Quantitative research method quantifies data and
focus on a large number of data, it meet the objective of the research project as to find out the number
of best sell product. Similarly, using primary data is the dedicated to the problem at hand, also it is
very useful for face to face interview (Zikumund 2014)
Discussion of method:
For Sanitarium, a combination of questionnaire and focus groups interview would be ideal to

Three Model Hydraulic Movements
We built three model hydraulic lifts using syringes with pistons of different areas and metal wall
plates. The syringes act as hydraulic cylinders.
First we built the model lifts, which involves attaching the top of another syringe s piston to the back
of a metal plate with epoxy and then connecting the master syringe to the slave syringe with tubing.
Every lift had a 12 cubic centimeter (cc) master hydraulic cylinder but each had one of three different
other hydraulic cylinders: 12 cc, 35 cc, and 60 cc.
You will use water as the hydraulic fluid.
Prepare the metal plates. The metal plates will hold the weights while the other piston will lift the
plate and the weights.

how much weight it takes to fall with the 12 cc syringe. Start with a small weight and try increasingly

Record the weight of the material in your lab notebook
Make sure the master piston is pulled out all the way, so the piston is all the way down.
Set the materials on the plate. Smoothly depress the master piston, delivering all of the hydraulic fluid,
or water, from the master syringe to the other syringe. As the master piston is depressed, and the
hydraulic fluid is delivered, the piston and the metal plate will rise.
Pull the master piston back out all the way, fully lowering the other piston.
Increase the weight by about 100 grams until it falls.
You may find that with heavier weights, with the piston fully extended, the vise may start to tumble.
Repeat two more times for a total of three trials. Before each trial, pull the master piston out and bring
the hydraulic fluid back into the master syringe and

The Issues Of Antibiotics Misuse
In NURN 422, I researched and discussed the serious implications of antibiotics misuse, and explored
ways to educate patients (and parents in pediatrics) about their proper use in order to counteract the
long term problem it is creating.
In recent years, overuse of antibiotics have been in the spotlight due to the fact that bacterial infections
are becoming resistant (Centers for Disease Control Prevention [CDC], 2014). The healthcare industry
s inappropriate prescribing habits have been a significant part of the problem. This includes
prescribing antibiotics as a just in case basis, prescription based on symptom criteria, patients
demanding for a fast relief of symptoms, and unsuitable use of broad spectrum antibiotics without
determining if there is an actual clinical need for it (CDC, 2011). Having knowledge of what is being
treated, educating providers, patients and parents of pediatric patients on the use of these medications
will have a major impact on lowering abuse and/or overuse of antibiotics. Nurses can and should be at
the forefront of this issue and take a lead in the education of patients and parents.

Difference Between Football And American Football
American football vs European football (soccer)
On November 1869, Princeton and Rutgers played the first intercollegiate football game in New
Brunswick, New Jersey, using a soccer style game with rules adapted from the London Football
Association (Michael Oriard 2017). American football is a combination of two English sport, rugby
and soccer. In term of popularity, soccer is most popular sport in the world, whereas American football
is only popular in the United States. American Football and soccer have differences such as the
protections gears, the shape of the ball, the way they score points and numbers of leagues. The
comparison between American Football and soccer reveals that soccer is easier to understand and
safer than American Football. Firstly, Injuries is a very common thing in both sports, but American
Football have a very high rate of injuries compare to soccer. American Football is a physical and
violent sports that requires physical and mental strength, according to a study, football players had the
highest injury rate, with 4.36 injuries per 1,000 athlete exposures. Concussions are one of the most
common injuries in football, a research shows that more than 40 percent of retired NFL players had

The Complexity Of Vessity Insanity In William...
The word Renaissance means rebirth and is used to represent a period in which there was tremendous
growth in literature, poetry, and drama. During that time, there were many great playwrights; one of
them was William Shakespeare, who wrote different genres of play, such as comedy, tragedy, and
histories. One of his famous tragedies play is Hamlet, which based on Prince Hamlet s revengeful plan
against his uncle, King Claudius. However, some critics question Hamlet s insanity and they believe
Hamlet is actually pretending to be insane. The purpose of this essay is to examine the extent to which
the character, Hamlet, is insane. Despite different critics opinions regarding Hamlet s insanity, it

He only feels grief and sorrow because his father s death is too sudden that he does not know how to
handle and response. Yet, the death of Hamlet s father is one of the factors that cause Hamlet to
become insane.
Hamlet s mother marriage with King Claudius is another reason that indirectly contributes to Hamlet s
insanity. This is because Hamlet s mother, Gertrude, marries to his father s brother quickly after his
father has just died. Hamlet simply thinks his mother s remarriage to King Claudius is disgusting
because it is incest and he thinks his mother has betrayed his father. According to Johnson Samuel, he
argues it is necessary to evaluate character Gertrude in order to understand how her remarriage to
Claudius eventually leads to his son madness (Johnson). First of all, one of the critics, Niamh J. O
Leary, thinks Shakespeare depicts Gertrude as an independent woman who is able to make her own
judgments and overcome panics. This is because when King s Hamlet dies, it does not take Gertrude a
long time to recover as she marries to his husband s brother quickly. Moreover, Niamh argues
Gertrude decides to marry King Claudius because she wants to protect his son. She needs to protect
his son because she knows Claudius has murdered her husband (O Learny). In the play, audiences can
see Hamlet describes his mother, Gertrude as a disloyal woman who betrays her husband. It is this
betrayal that causes Hamlet to become insane when he confronts his

Casey At Bat Analysis
In the poem Casey at Bat and story David and Goliath, a comparison of David and Casey shows
differences and similarities. Here is how they are both alike. Casey and David are both alike because
they both had a battle and they felt like they were going to win that battle. I know this because in the
articles it said that the people knew that Casey was going to hit the ball and if the people believe that
means that Casey would believe. It also said in one of the articles that David felt like he was going to
win because he had God on his side. So if David believed that he was going to win because of God
and Casey believed he was going to win because of the people cheering for him that means that they
both have a reason to feel like they are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Casey up to Bat his battle was to hit the ball and he struck out. In David and Goliath David s battle
was to kill Goliath and he did. If one struck out and the other killed a giant that means that one lost
their battle and the other didn t. Another way I think they are different is because Casey boasted and
David did not. In Casey up to bat it said that Casey said that pitch isn t my style. In David and Goliath
it said that David said that he was going to win because God was on his side. This proves that Casey
boasted and David did not because if you watch something go by you think that it s not good enough
then that is boasting because not everything is going to be perfect. David did not boast because he had
a reason to think that he was going to win and he didn t act like he was all that. The last reason why I
think they are different is because David was judged in a bad way and Casey was judged in a good
way. In David and Goliath it said that David s brothers called him a brat. Casey was judged in a good
way because in Casey up to bat it said that everyone thought that he was going to hit. If you get called
a brat that is offensive so that would be a bad judgement. If everyone believes that you are going to hit
the baseball that would be a good judgement because people trust you.In the poem Casey at Bat and
story David and Goliath, a comparison of David and

Drag Queens Perform Gender
This project is focused on drag queens and the extent to which they perform gender. Many scholars
have looked at the performance of gender within the context of the gender binary. Many scholars, feel
that drag breaks down this binary whereas others feel that the binary and heteronormativity are
perpetuated by and instilled within drag. Regardless of the debate, it goes without question that drag
queens perform gender on stage.
The topic of drag queens performing gender is sociologically important for a variety of reasons. One
of the simplest is that there is not much literature or research on this topic and in a time where
transgender matters are a red button issue in the United States; I think it is important to highlight
another and somewhat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tauches states that gender is a socially constructed term and our behavior is supposed to be contingent
on our gender identity. The gender binary, being either female or male, allows people to easily
determine the sex of someone else. Butler feels that drag disrupts this binary and heteronormativity.
By performing a gender that may not match the anatomy underneath the costume, a queen makes it
hard to distinguish gender and blurs the lines of the binary. Tauches also states that gender is based on
what is considered legitimate or correct for a certain sex. This notion is prevalent throughout the
works of Bishop, Mann and Horowitz. Each work shows, to a certain extent, how heteronormativity
dictates not only how drag queens perform gender, but how they are perceived. In Bishop s work, drag
queens are viewed as less than in some cases because they do not perform the correct masculine
standard. In Mann s work, Suzanne performs gender by using stereotypical feminine Southern
language that is considered polite or correct for the regional location. In Horowitz s work, queens
emulate the hegemonic feminine standard while performing. Contingent upon the work of Bishop,
Mann and Horowitz, Tauches might state that drag queens perform the socially constructed ideal of
gender and the behavioral characteristics that accompany the gender being

Batman And Batman
Inspired, but Independent
Both Batwoman and Batman are vigilantes in the fictional city of Gotham. The characters mostly exist
in the comics to help each other. With Batwoman being initially created to set her partner s sexuality
record straight, they take off to work together. Their existence in Gotham as Batman and Batwoman,
albeit being illegal, is much need by the residents who suffer in the hands of the highly skilled
criminals such as the Joker who have mastered their techniques. The police department is simply
lacking in comparison to the skills of the criminals and they cannot help but watch as the residents get
terrorized. Furthermore, neither Batwoman nor Batman work for the government, hence their crime
solving is not biased ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Batwoman is comparable to a female version of Batman in the American comic book series, DC
Comics. Her character is played secretly by Katherine Kane, who, just like Batman, masks her face
during the nights to fight crime. Just as Batman, she is a successful entrepreneur who has devoted her
wealth and skills to fighting crime. Again similarly, Batwoman does not possess any superpowers and
relies on her military trainings to combat crime. In short, both vigilante characters wear the bat
costume to fight crime in Gotham. Nonetheless, Batwoman is an entirely independent superhero with
her own ways and rulebooks.
Both Batman and Batwoman are victims of crime and the pain and loss suffered from the criminal acts
is their mutual driving force. Batman, at a young age, lost both of his parents in a robbery shootout.
When the crime happened, he did not know what to do he simply watched as his parents bodies lay
lifeless by the road. The image was forever imprinted on the boy s mind. He could not, no matter how
hard he tried, to stop recounting the night he became an orphan. After school and running a successful
business, Wayne feels that he is ready to give back to the city by fighting criminals.
Just like Batman, Batwoman is driven by pain and vengeance. She shares in Batman s painful
sentiment of loss as she herself lost a parent and a sister. At the age twelve, on her birthday, Kate, her
twin sister and her mother were kidnapped, but her mother and supposedly her sister

As many people know 2007 s Green lantern film didn t do so well as far as the box office was

incredibly inconsistent and although the story plot seemed pretty easily readable from the viewers
perception it was all over the place in inconsistencies. Many reviews were mainly negative many not
liking the tone of the story and choice of villains and characters alongside the Green Lantern. The

The Apotheosis is the moment right before the movie climax s. The Apotheosis is the moment where

point in the movie Hal Jordan the Green Lantern is drawn out to face one of his enemies Hector

Caffeine and Reaction Time

the Problem or Question How does the consumption of caffeine affect the reaction time of the nervous
system? 2) Introduction Purpose of the experiment: To identify the whether or not caffeine increases
or decreases the reaction time of the nervous system. In our experiment, we have decided to use all the
cases which will test how fast a signal from our brain will be sent to our muscles in order to click the
mouse when we see an object or directions on the screen. We know that the commonly used drug,
caffeine, increases the heart rate, thus the increase in blood flow. The question in our experiment is,

When he consumed the 12 oz of coffee, his average reaction time decreased to 344+ 60 milliseconds.
It is quite apparent from the graphs that the average reaction time for every case for each test subject
decreased when absorbing caffeine into their system. Test subjects also consumed the right amount of
caffine, 160mg, which allowed the subject to shorten their reaction time, while the wrong dosage
could impair it. We can also draw from the graphs the relation that the younger the test subjects are,
the quicker their reaction time will be. Also, we can also conclude from the results that males tend to
have a quicker reaction time than females (Daniel s reaction times were faster than Jazmine s, and
Keon s were faster than Mi s). 8) State the conclusion The hypothesis was correct. The effects of
caffeine shortened the reaction time in all of our test subjects. 9) Summary Paragraph The reason why
we were able to correctly devise a hypothesis for the experiment was because of the prior knowledge
we had of the drug, caffeine. Caffeine increases the heart rate, which allows for faster muscle
contractions. Caffeine does not really affect the actual reaction of the nervous system, but rather the
actual contractions of the muscles themselves. This known fact of caffeine is reflected in the
experiment. It shortened the reaction time of our test subjects in every

Antibiotics In The 1940 s
Antibiotics have played an essential role in the fight against diseases and infections since the 1940 s.
Antibiotics are a leading cause for the rise of global average life expectancy in the 20th and 21st
century. They have greatly reduced illnesses and deaths due to diseases. With the introductions of
antibiotics in the 1940 s, like penicillin into clinical practice, formally deadly illnesses became
immediately curable and saved thousands of lives (Yim 2006). Antibiotic use has been beneficial and
when prescribed and taken correctly their effects on patients are exceedingly valuable. However,

antibiotics are designed to kill have adapted, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Little research has been done on human superbugs but even less on antibiotic resistance in animals
and whether the bacteria can be passed on to humans (Press Release 1998). The problem with the
growing number of bacteria that are resistance to available antibiotics, is that there are very few new
antibiotics in development. The financial costs of creating newer and stronger antibiotics are
exceedingly high. Pharmaceutical manufactures either don t have the money or refuse to because of
the small amount of profit they will make from these one off drugs. Research institutes are another
option for new antibiotics but also don t have the sufficient financial support (Kesselheim 2010).
Antibiotic resistant patients require extensive care and there are rare cases that they need complete
isolation. The cost of this intensive care for long periods of time is phenomenal. With growing rates of
resistance cases more isolation units are going to be in need which will cost governments hundreds,
even thousands of dollars to provide (Lansing 2011). The economic factors of antibiotic resistance for
developing world countries are worrying. Some counties health systems have no where near enough
financial support or staff members to help the number of superbug patients (Kaier 2011). The
economic implications of the growing rates of superbug cases is concerning. Globally there is very

Exploitation Of Women In Advertising Research Paper
The exploitation of women in Ads
What are the dangers for the companies to use such types of ads? What are the different reactions of
men and women to this kind of ads ?
Introduction
The exploitation of women in the media has been part of the advertising industry since its beginning,
although the level to which women have been exploited has changed drastically. Advertising is a
highly visible and seemingly controversial agent of socialization (Paff, Lakner, 1997). Indeed, it
appears everywhere in our lives, on television, on the internet, on busses, in our mailbox, in
magazines, and now in the toilets of our favourite restaurants or nightclubs. Jean Kilbourne, one of the

Advertising ideologically shapes our perceptions of beauty and strongly influences our ideas, attitudes
and values within one s culture. Advertisers achieve this powerful and direct communication through
signifying practices which gives meaning to words and images (Kang, 1997). For example, the
exploitation of women is most apparent in TV beer commercials, where the promise of sex and fun is
the norm (Hall, Crum, 1994). For example, the Swedish Bikini Team commercial for Old Milwaukee
beer. In this commercial, large breasted blond women wearing bikinis were portrayed as fun
companions brought in especially to party with very few men.. Through the exploitation of women in
advertisements, this oppression leads to social problems, such the development of eating disorders by
young women attempting to achieve the conditioned idea of the ideal image (Kang, 1997).
A lack of identification which creates negative attitudes
The notion that female products are sold from a male perspective is an important concept because it is
a form of systematic male oppression, that most are aware of, yet still support and surrender to, or at
the very most give minimal opposition. Visual images are especially important when influencing
women s buying behavior as most readers of advertisement look at the illustration, read the headline,
read the body copy, in that order (Kang, 1997). Although, several journal articles, like the

Causes Of Unemployment In Nigeria
Unemployment in some cases is not an individual problem. While some may think that unemployment
is always the beholders fault, in Nigeria however, it is quite the contrary. Raw data and statistics can
show exactly why a country has an unemployment problem. Along with that, causes of unemployment
can be significant to why unemployment is such a critical problem. Even more, the effects of
unemployment hint to the future of any country that struggles with this. With all of this in mind, one
must wonder how much unemployment really affects a country. Sometimes, the cold hard facts will
provide better evidence to why unemployment is more of a problem than some realize. Statistics can
be just as vital to understanding the problem of unemployment. Nigerian unemployment rate has
skyrocketed from 10.4% in the last quarter of 2015 to 14.2% in the respective last quarter in 2016.
That is an increase of 3.8% which is the highest job spike since 2009 ( Nigeria Unemployment Rate
P.1.). 3.8% may not seem like a lot, but since Nigeria has a population of 192 million (10/31/17)
(Nigeria Population LIVE P.1), 7,296,000 became unemployed, making the total amount of people
unemployed 27,264,000. In the previous quarter, the jobless rate was 13.9 percent. Unemployment
Rate in Nigeria averaged 9.76 percent from 2006 until 2016, reaching an all time high of 19.70
percent in the fourth quarter of 2009 and a record low of 5.10 percent in the fourth quarter of 2010 (

that Tulachan did not repeat any pigment while painting this thangka. The vibrant colours he used are
made from natural mineral pigments. The painting also attracted me because of the action packed

Drug Testing In Sports Essay
A dominant problem in sport today is the use of performance enhancing drugs (doping). The
temptation of doping is high because athletes are constantly judged on their performance. However
drug testing is costly; per person, a drug test costs around $700. New Zealand athletes are often
missing out on dreams they have worked a lifetime to fulfill, because of world wide, performance
enhancing drug use. Drug testing has an exorbitant cost. New Zealand s expenditure alone in 2015/16
amounted to $2.962 million. Are these tests even fair and worth the cost? Most athletes consume some
sort of dietary supplement that has no evident effect on performance enhancement, for example, a
simple multivitamin can test positive in a drug test from being on the same production line as a
prohibited substance. An unpublished survey revealed that 93% of elite New Zealand athletes had
ingested at least 3 dietary supplements in the 6 months previous, a risk when drug testing is

Explain How Individuals Are Taught To Become Good Leaders
1. What is your initial reaction to the question, Are leaders born or can they be taught?
I personally thought and think that anyone can be a leader. I feel this way because there are different
kinds of leaders. I also think leaders can be taught by learning from examples set forth from other
great leaders.
2. Now, use the Internet and find at least three articles or sites that discuss leadership. Based on your

Based on the information that I found leadership means a person who is able to motivate, direct others
to achieve goals and inspire along the way. One of the practices that stood out to me was helping
people to achieve what they think is the impossible. Another practice I found to be amazing is being a

Tuc s Decision To The General Strike Of 1926
On May 4, 1926, Britain had a great amount of miner workers walked out on their jobs. This was the
beginning of a General Strike. The strike was called out by the Trade Union. The strike was stared
because owners of different miners wanted to reduce the wages of their workers down by 13 per cent
and with that, they also wanted them to increase their shifts. The TUC s decision to strike was carried
by 3,653,527 votes to 49,911 on May 1st, 1926. Over the following week crowds of workers took to
the streets. The government was not happy with what was going on and decided to act against the
strike. With the media giving awareness to the strike, it caused a huge number of road transport, bus,
docks, printing, chemical, and coal workers to stay off work. However, some middle class people
volunteered, and help get some buses, trains, and electricity working. The strikers acted aggressively
towards that and set out to set a few busses on fire. Police try to calm the strikers which only led to

Essay On Ed s Tall Tales
Humankind fought numerous wars in the twentieth century. In the United States, none affected the
everyday lives of those left at home to the extent that the Second World War did. The government
rationed essential war material, such as rubber, gasoline, and numerous food items. Teens, disabled,
middle aged, and elderly, male and female, kept farms productive and factories turning out munitions
at an unprecedented level. Although people endured hardships, they also found opportunities for
adventure and financial gain. For countless people, the war changed the direction of their lives.1 Their
stories are diverse. Ed s Tall Tales
In the 1960s, during my junior high and high school years, I frequently earned money by working for
our next door neighbors, Ed and Alice Larson. In the winter, I shoveled the snow from their sidewalks
and occasionally, when the snow accumulated from multiple storms, I cleared the snow off their roof.
In the summer, I received seventy five cents each time I mowed their grass. Since Ed provided both
the lawn mower and fuel, I discounted my usual one dollar charge for a lawn of their size.
After moving out of my childhood home, I seldom interacted with Ed and Alice. However, while
visiting my parents in the mid 1970s, Ed and I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition to working on the family farm, the industrious youth earned money by hiring out his
services to neighboring farmers. Ronald, with an interest in and an aptitude for mechanics, soon
marketed these skills by repairing farm machinery. Another job, transporting alcohol from stills
operated by his father and their neighbors, matched aptly with his love for cars and adventure.
Furthermore, while still a teenager, Ronald began an annual routine of riding the rails west to the
apple orchards in Washington, finding seasonal employment as a truck driver and

Figure X.X.X. Photolabile nucleobase protection.
Photolabile nucleobase protection has been used to achieve exquisite control over biological processes
through light regulation, also referred as photocaging. The concept was introduced by Engels (Engels
and Schlaeger, 1977; Engels and Reidys, 1978) and independently by Hofmann (Kaplan et al., 1978).
Watson Crick base pairing is blocked by caging groups, completely preventing oligonucleotide duplex
formation. Duplex formation is restored when irradiated by the light at specfic wavelength.
Photolabile groups when introduced at specific locations render the molecule inactive; however, upon
irradiation with light at particular wavelength, the molecules can be activated (See detailed review by
Shao and Xing, 2010; Tang et al. 2013; Liu and Deiters, 2014). Caging groups can also be introduced
at phosphate, 2 OH, and nucleobases (Tang et al., 2013); however, nucleobase caging has been of
particular interest.
Oligonucleotides containing NVOC protecting groups have used as the photocleavable protecting
group at the N3 position of

Zoot Suit Play Analysis
Jennifer Boretzky English 239 Response Paper #3: Zoot Suit 11/11/15 Zoot Suit In the play Zoot Suit,
it takes place in Los Angeles during World War II and focuses on the Mexican Americans of the time.
It all starts out with Henry Reyna and his 38th Street Gang were in a brawl with their rivalry, the
Downey gang. After their brawl, Henry and his gang decided to go to Sleepy Lagoon, which is a
reservoir where the young crowd went to hang out and socialize with their friends. They had gone to
the Williams Ranch where they had heard noise and mistook that noise for a party, but instead it was
the Downey gang harassing the people at the ranch. Without realizing, one of the members of the

Pierre Elliot Trudeau
As one of the Canada s greatest leaders, Pierre Elliot Trudeau brought change that would change
Canada forever in a positive manner. Although it can be argued that Trudeau s behavior was
outlandish and informal at times, it could be considered charismatic, however, his behavior to politics
was superior. He was inspired to change Canada and make it a better place to live. He did so by
implying the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, multiculturalism, and using laws to make Canada a
better place. Pierre Elliot Trudeau s actions changed Canada for the better. On April 17th, 1982, when
the Charter of Rights and Freedoms was signed into law (_The History of the Charter_), Canadians
lives would change forever. The Canadian Charter of Rights and ... Show more content on

As a result, others who came were often considered foreigners because their race, color, religion, or
customs were different from those of the majority of Canadians (_Attitudes Towards Immigrants_).
Trudeau was the first to imply Multiculturalism in Canada. By implying it, it allowed Canada to be a
much more diverse and equal place. It also promotes respect for peoples distinct cultural identity.
Implying multiculturalism to Canada was one of Trudeau s greatest accomplishments. Pierre Trudeau
was a leader who not only brought change by bringing new laws to Canada, but he changed the way
people viewed other laws. Trudeau listened to the majority, but also protected the rights of the
minority which demonstrates he is a strong leader. He once said Canada will be a strong country when
Canadians of all provinces feel at home in all parts of the country, and when they feel that all Canada
belongs to them. (CBC Archives) Trudeau has always strived for greatness and has been successful in
many cases. As in the FLQ crisis, Trudeau declared a brief period of Martial Law using the War
Measures Act (WMA). By doing this, he completely changed the view of the WMA. It had been
assumed that the WMA would be used in times of crisis, such as famines, depressions, pandemics and
other serious situations that are serious to Canada s well being. However, Trudeau demonstrated how
it can be used

Man Of La Mancha Play Analysis
I was excited going into see this production of Man of La Mancha. I did not really know anything
about it and since I saw it on opening night there was no time to get an ingoing expectation from my
classmates before I saw it. I knew this was a musical, and I really like musicals, but I had never heard
of this one before. One night when I was talking to my mom she said she had seen it before and said
she really liked it; she was even singing part of The Impossible Dream on the phone. I knew
beforehand that they were using the same set from Life is a Dream and I automatically recognized the
set, it was still very different, but a lot of the same things. The lighting was dim as you would expect
going into a theatre. I was shocked at how close the pit was to the audience, since this was the first
musical I had seen in the University Theatre I did not know where to expect the pit to be. It was neat
to be able to look down into the pit before and during the show. Over all the acting was pretty good.
Since this show was a University ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lights were not turned up all the way to enhance the feeling of a prison. One part that really stood
out to me was when the orchestra was playing the overture before the acting began and the lights
flashed to signify a change in the tone of the musical. It was exactly cued with the beat and executed
perfectly. It was just a tiny element of the production, but it just really stuck with me. Aside from of
that, the lights were a helpful cue to what was going on with the characters. When the Knight of
Mirrors was fighting with Don Quixote the lights got very bright to signify Don Quixote s confusion.
Then when the fight was over and Cervantes was lying in the chair the lights got dimmer and almost a
blue shade to show the sickness of Cervantes. Overall, I felt that the lights made an enormous impact
on the overall view of this show and helped to add effects in a positive

Legal Drinking Age
For many of the generations living today, the legal drinking age has always been set at twenty one. In
the 1980 s, it rose from eighteen to twenty one in an attempt to reduce the amount of underage drunk
driving accidents. While the number of traffic fatalities have declined over the past few decades, many
would argue that the law has spawned many new problems as well, such as an increase in alcohol
poisoning deaths and binge drinking.
As previously stated, the primary reason for adjustment to the legal drinking age was to address the
preposterous number of drunk driving accidents. The United States has experienced a decline in all
age groups over the last 25 years and for that, the law has been a success. Although these statistics are
encouraging, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since 1979, the rate of binge drinking has increased 20 percent in non college women and 40 percent
in women who attend college, and this rate continues to rise. College students that are not of age to
drink legally engage in pre game sessions, where the primary goal is to get drunk before attending a
social event. To obtain this goal, the young adults take multiple shots of hard liquor in rapid
succession (McCardell) in locations that are beyond administrative authority. These unsafe and
unhealthy drinking behaviors lead to many short and long term health effects. Drinking is driven away
from responsible adults who could model moderation for young adults and instead driven into risky
settings, heavily weighted with peer pressure and usually not supervised by any non intoxicated
people. While drunk driving is a problem, a study from the National Institute of Alcoholism and
Alcohol Abuse states that of 5,000 deaths involving alcohol in those under the age of 21, more than 60
percent of the fatalities occur off of roadways (McCardell). This includes alcohol poisoning deaths
that result from binge drinking incidents, which between 1998 and 2005 jumped from 779 to 2290
cases in 18 24 year olds (Glaser). These statistics indicate that the primary problem of this age is not
drunk driving, but instead clandestine binge

The Product Life Cycle Model
INTRODUCTION Tourism pattern is not steady but rather unsurprising; Butler s life cycle model
have made it simple for us to comprehend the lifecycle of traveller destination. With his, the product
life cycle (PLC) of five stages which incorporate Exploration, Involvement, Development,
Consolidation, Stagnation, Decline, and Rejuvenation. We will look at that how wellington , Bhutan
and Antarctica lies on the bend of PLC. Different elements have been considered to assess that how
these destinations have come to the point of revival. Discussing the first stage that is Exploration
which could be summed up as a couple quantities of visitors going by an unexplored destination
where they may confront trouble in finding their direction. The following stage being Involvement
where a traveller will take part in meeting neighbourhood individuals where they will discover a spot
to stay, nourishment to eat and use nearby administrations like transportation. Improvement phase is
the phase, where explorers will have a chance to stay in special lodgings, have different restaurant
choices for sustenance. This will be useful for local people as well as they land positions.
Consolidation stage being that in which visitor go in an expansive volume, where they have lodging
choices. In the long run this will prompt a rival in the business sector. Stagnation stage being the

She was born into royalty and became a ruler at a very young age due to her father s death. She was married four times, first to her two younger brothers, third to Julius Caesar and fourth to Marc Antony. She had four children with both Julius Caesar and marc Antony. Cleopatra also had 5 siblings. Later on, in life, Cleopatra committed suicide. Cleopatra was born in 69 BC in Alexandria, Egypt (Cleopatra: The Woman Behind the Name.) On her way back to Egypt she made a stop in Cyprus which had been granted to her younger sister Arsinoe and her younger brother and co ruler Ptolemy XIV, in order to ensure that she was known as their true ruler. As Cleopatra arrived in Egypt she immediately took steps to consolidate her rule. A document dated July 26 44 BC, Ptolemy XIV s name appeared, but after that date he disappeared many say that Cleopatra ordered for him to be poisoned and it is notable that around this time she dropped the epithet brother loving from her titles. Cleopatra confirmed her son by Julius Caesar, Caesarion, co regent. Cleopatra also continued to build the Caesareum in honor of Caesar. In Dendera, Caesarion was depicted in front of images of Cleopatra, asserting him as the primary ruler (Ancient Egypt Online.) Cleopatra and Marc Antony spent the winter of 41 to 40 BC in Alexandria. In the spring of 40 BC, Marc Antony left Cleopatra to return home. Marc Antony did not see her for four years. Fulvia, Antony s ex wife had gotten into a movement against his wife Octavian over veteran s allotments of land. In the meantime Cleopatra had given birth to twins, a boy and a girl. Their twin children were officially recognized by Antony and were given names of Alexander Helios and Cleopatra Selene. Marc Antony gave her much land which was very essential to Egypt. He gave her Cyprus, the Cilician coast, Phoenicia, Coele Syria, and Judea and Arabia. In 34 BC, Antony had a campaign into Armenia which had been successful and financially rewarding. Antony celebrated his triumph with a parade. He presented himself as the New Dionysus. There is not a single person with ought the ability to motivated, unless they are dead. Moving on in life is easier with motivation. In an article by Chris Jones Roger Ebert fought through cancer and had motivation to live. That is true no matter what our problems, our health, our circumstances. We must try . (Jones 34) Roger Ebert was a fighter of cancer who was motivated not to give up even on his deathbed and had lived to see another day. Steve Jobs was another survivor of cancer in his article he learned to live and appreciated seeing another day I had the surgery and I m fine now . The families who lost loved one during the September 11 attacks, in an article by Amanda Ripley, wanted to move on after receiving what they felt they deserved. I feel like I am entitled to something . (Ripley13) Those families were motivated to receive the funding that their family member was worth in order to move on with their lives. Each one of these people with the help of motivation was inspired to move on, given that they had the right amount of time to do it. First two at Camp Foster in Okoboji, Iowa; the third at Camp Chief Ouray in Colorado. It s difficult to pick one or two of my favorite moments from these three years, but one thing is certain, I learned more from my three years working with kids than any life experiences thus far. People often ask me, why do you enjoy working with kids? The best answer I can think of is simple. I love working with kids because it s challenging. The challenge is twofold, kids are in constant need of justification, and kids push you to think creatively. Anyone that has experience with kids knows a child s favorite question is why? Why is it their favorite? (See what I did there?) It s their favorite question because their actions need justification. If you are unable to provide adequate justification and purpose for doing a task, good luck! Every camp counselor, parent, and teacher knows the worst way to respond to a question is because I said so . This constant desire for justification provides you with plenty of ... Most adults can look at the facts and solve systematically. When kids look at a problem they see the facts and challenge the intellectual basis for these assumptions. They think, why do we need to do it that way? Is there another way we can achieve the same end? In other words, they look at the math problem and say, why can t we change the variables? For kids, everything is in play. I believe our faith, along with many other areas, requires us to be childlike. It seems as if we always fall short. We need more of it! • 7. The Computer And The Computers Jaciya Wade Professor Kruse Senior Project 16 March 2016 The computer is one of the most used electronics in everyday life. The internet and the computer connects one place to another, Japan to Alaska, Canada to South America and so on. What is never thought of is the programs that go into the websites that are used on a regular basis, Facebook, twitter and Instagram. Without them there would be a complete disconnect between every continent, country, and city. No outside information would cycle in or out and trade of any kind, be it information or the discovery of more resources, would be reduced to a snail s pace. The same could be said for the information that doctors that work in laboratories and architects that build homes use, without the different computer programs and the internet, the services they provide would basically become non existent. Computer programs are very important to prevent loss of life, such as the programs used in hospitals for life support or programs used to determine whether or not there is electricity going through a downed powerline. For example, at Ameren there is a program that is ranked as a class 1 system which means that if field employees didn t have access this program it could lead to loss of life (Boyd). Becoming a computer programmer has many benefits such as compensation, job satisfaction, and telecommuting, but every job has cons some of which are the current job outlook, health hazards and general computer security. • 9. Johns Reflection And Gibbs Reflection in Nursing Practice Introduction: In this essay, I will discuss several issues that seem to bind nursing practice with questions of ethics, sociology and management. Reflective practice is an important aspect of nursing management and in this essay we discuss implications of discrimination in nursing care and examine the importance of anti discriminatory perspectives in nursing. In this paper, the case study I will elaborate is of an elderly woman who was of a non British ethnic origin and spoke little English. A junior nurse visited her home to provide care but her attitude towards the patient has been discriminatory and abrupt, a situation that calls for serious reflection on the issues of racial discrimination at the clinical setting. The patient was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gustaffson and Fagerberg point out that reflective practice has relevance for clinical practice as by understanding the contents of nurses reflections, it is also possible to understand the advantages of reflective practice and how and when such measures should be used by the nurses for further professional development. Fairley (2005) gives a consultant nurse perspective of a clinical role in critical care unit that has evolved as a central feature of all surgical high dependency units (SDHU) in large teaching hospital trusts. Advanced nursing practice is perceived not as the acquisition and application of technical procedures which are usually undertaken by doctors, but also an integration of medicine and nursing where holistic nursing assessment and symptom focused physical examination go hand in hand. Fairley presents a reflective account of practical problems encountered relating to role integration, professional autonomy, legal and consent issues, non medical prescribing, and role evaluation (Fairley, 2005). The paper successfully describes a model of nursing applied to high dependency units integrating the role of the advanced nurse practitioner within the medical and clinical team an reflective practice plays an important role by being the main method of evaluation of a consultant nurse perspective. • 10. The Tax Reform Act Of 1997 There are only two things assured in this world: death and taxes. Whether you re a corporate employee or an entrepreneur, you will have to pay your taxes. For every entrepreneur, taxation is a very crucial factor in their financial investment s decision making process because the lower the tax burden the higher the revenue which equivalently paid out in forms of wages and salaries or dividends (Lynn, 2015). The word tax comes from the latin word taxo which means I estimate. It varies from different countries and how they are paid. In the Philippines, taxes can be grouped to national taxes and local taxes. National taxes are those based on the Tax Reform Act of 1997 also known as the Republic Act No. 8424. The Tariff and Custom Code of the Philippines which levied the import and export tariffs (Republic Act No. 1937) may be considered as a national government tax. Under this group, we have the capital gain tax, documentary stamp tax, donor s tax, estate tax, income tax, percentage tax, value added tax and excise tax. A capital gain tax is a tax imposed on the earnings of a seller has gained from the sale of his/her capital assets (Castillo, 2015). In identifying the capital assets, we need to understand that the word capital assets mean property held by the taxpayer (Tax Code Section 39). Documentary stamp tax is an excise tax levied on documents, instruments, loan agreements and paper evidencing the acceptance, assignment, sale or transfer of an obligation, rights, or ... • 11. Pressure Distribution Around Symmetrical Aerofoilc Pressure Distribution around a Symmetric Aerofoil Abstract: The following report is based on an experiment conducted to calculate the lift curve slope for a symmetrical aerofoil subjected to varying angles of attack. Pressure readings were taken at different points on the upper and lower surface of the aerofoil. The report concludes that maximum lift is generated between 12 º 15º, which is also the stall point. It also states that region close to the leading edge contributes most to the lift force. Introduction: This experiment is designed to measure the static pressure distribution around a symmetric aerofoil, find the normal force and hence to determine the lift curve slope. For zero angle of attack the pressure distribution is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the graphs above it can be seen that maximum suction for all the angles (except 4º) exists at Hole 1, which is 1.27 mm from the leading edge on the upper surface. The angle of attack at which most suction is achieved is 11º where the CP value reaches 3.0; and it increases as the angle of attack is increased or decreased from 11º. The CP values at the trailing edge vary for different angles. They all range between 0 and 0.5. It is maximum at 4º and 0º while it is minimum at 16º. For all positive angles, the lowest CP values are found around 1.27 mm from the leading edge on the upper surface while the highest CP values are found around 2.29mm from the leading edge on the lower surface of the aerofoil. Such that, the maximum differences in the CP values exists at these points, which are closest to the leading edge. The bigger the difference between CP values the greater the lift force as the suction is maximum. Therefore, it can be concluded that the region close to the leading edge of the aerofoil contributes most to the lift force. The Lift Coefficient CL is calculated using the graphs 1 6. In this report counting the squares method is used to calculate the area between the curves for pressure distribution on the upper surface and lower surface. The area gives the lift coefficient at particular angles ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Watching TV Does More Harmful Things to People than Good... Watching TV is an experience that most people do for almost all the time. Some people believe that watching TV does more good things to people than harmful things, but other people say that it does more harmful things to people than good things. The people who say that TV does more harmful things than good things are doctors who know about things that are good and bad in people s health and the people who say that TV is good for you are the people who watch a lot of TV. Since doctors can help cure people and know what is good for people, this would mean that the doctors are correct about TV harming people than the people who watch a lot of TV who believe that TV can do good things to other people. Watching TV does more harmful things to people than good things because it can cause them people to imitate bad behavior on TV, it can cause people to have health problems, and that it can people s time away from doing activities that help them become successful in their life. People who watch a lot of tv think that they are not harmed by the TV but this however is not true. Doctors who know what s good for people say that watching TV can cause a lot of harm to people since it can cause people to have behavior problems and can cause them to not feel well from their health. One way that TV can do more harmful things than good things is that it can cause people who watch a lot of TV to imitate bad behavior on TV. According to KidsHealth.org, it said that TV ... • 13. Analysis Of Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince Matt Hodel Dante Ms. Harlow 7 May 2012 Perversions of Hell in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince J. K. Rowling, along with many other modern fantasy authors, owes a great deal to Dante in the formulation of her best selling series. Though the subject matter she undertakes a magical world of witchcraft and wizardry would have, in Dante s eyes, landed her in the eighth circle of the Inferno, fourth pouch, Rowling would arguably have been unable to create the magical universe of Harry Potter without immense inspiration from The Divine Comedy. In an overly simplistic picture, Voldemort might be thought of as a representation of Satan, arrogantly believing that he has the power to conquer the whole wizarding community, let alone the entire world, with his magical faculties. Indeed, similar to Satan, Voldemort exemplifies the damning qualities of greed, wrath, violence, deceit, and betrayal every step of the way on his path to power. Nevertheless, Rowling s most visible debts to Dante appear in the aura given off by the darker scenes of her novels. Such chapters evoke a feeling unquestionably reminiscent of The Inferno to anyone familiar with Dante s work. Specifically, near the end of the sixth installment of the series is a chapter in which Dumbledore, a Virgil figure, takes Harry, the Dante to Dumbledore s Virgil, on an attempt to destroy the first of seven horcruxes. The chapter alludes to Canto III of The Inferno through a series of direct contrasts with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Disabled In The Game Of Thrones Stereotypes The Disabled in the Game of Thrones Bringing Elsewhere Home: A Song of Ice and Fire s Ethics of Disability by Pascal J. Massie and Lauryn S. Mayer focuses on the disabled in the popular book and tv series Game of Thrones. Season one episode 4 of the Game of Thrones titled, Cripples, Bastards and Broken Things , features several characters that suffer from either an internal or external disability. However, the primary two examples of disabled characters are Bran Stark and Tyrion Lannister. Both characters suffer from very different disabilities, and unfortunately they live in a pseudo medieval society in which disabilities are highly frowned upon. Their social status in society is highly afflicted by their handicaps, but they are also lucky that they are from noble houses that help elevate their status. Both characters have and develop different ways to deal with their handicap. Bran Stark, is bed ridden after suffering a horrible fall from a tower that caused him to be paralyzed from the waist down. Although not shown in this episode, Bran was pushed from the tower due to the fact that he had seen something he was not meant to see. Bran is crushed by his disability at first, it makes him feel quite useless as he has to get carried around from place to place. Furthermore it greatly hinders his childhood dream of becoming a noble warrior and prevents him from climbing, which is one of his greatest passions. Bran first sees his newfound disability as a setback but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Best Research Approach For Sanitarium Market Research Assignment 2 Di Zhang 110069398 Scenario 1 Discussion of target respondents: The target respondent of Sanitarium is customers who did purchase so good coconut milk in the last 12 month. As the objective for this research is aiming to gain an understanding of who is buying their so good coconut milk, how they are using, how they view so good coconut milk and if they use other sanitarium products. And other group of target respondent would be sales people who work in the market for Sanitarium products, because their feedback is also important to achieve the research objectives. Discussion of research approach: The best research approach for Sanitarium market research would be the combination of qualitative and quantitative method. Qualitative research is a broad umbrella term that cover a wide range of techniques and philosophies. In broad terms, qualitative research is an approach that allows you to examine people s experiences in detail information, it include method such as in depth interview, focus groups, content analysis etc. (Frederick, 2015) Quantitative research method quantifies data and focus on a large number of data, it meet the objective of the research project as to find out the number of best sell product. Similarly, using primary data is the dedicated to the problem at hand, also it is very useful for face to face interview (Zikumund 2014) Discussion of method: For Sanitarium, a combination of questionnaire and focus groups interview would be ideal to ... First we built the model lifts, which involves attaching the top of another syringe s piston to the back of a metal plate with epoxy and then connecting the master syringe to the slave syringe with tubing. Every lift had a 12 cubic centimeter (cc) master hydraulic cylinder but each had one of three different other hydraulic cylinders: 12 cc, 35 cc, and 60 cc. You will use water as the hydraulic fluid. The Issues Of Antibiotics Misuse In NURN 422, I researched and discussed the serious implications of antibiotics misuse, and explored ways to educate patients (and parents in pediatrics) about their proper use in order to counteract the long term problem it is creating. In recent years, overuse of antibiotics have been in the spotlight due to the fact that bacterial infections are becoming resistant (Centers for Disease Control Prevention [CDC], 2014). The healthcare industry s inappropriate prescribing habits have been a significant part of the problem. This includes prescribing antibiotics as a just in case basis, prescription based on symptom criteria, patients demanding for a fast relief of symptoms, and unsuitable use of broad spectrum antibiotics without determining if there is an actual clinical need for it (CDC, 2011). Having knowledge of what is being treated, educating providers, patients and parents of pediatric patients on the use of these medications will have a major impact on lowering abuse and/or overuse of antibiotics. Nurses can and should be at the forefront of this issue and take a lead in the education of patients and parents. *Discussion of the current work process. (PLAN) Criteria: 1) Flowcharts and/or thoroughly describes the current steps of the work process. My quality improvement project, which is to educate patients in the overuse and/or misuse of antibiotics, will be implemented during the patient flow process. During that time, there were many great playwrights; one of them was William Shakespeare, who wrote different genres of play, such as comedy, tragedy, and histories. One of his famous tragedies play is Hamlet, which based on Prince Hamlet s revengeful plan against his uncle, King Claudius. However, some critics question Hamlet s insanity and they believe Hamlet is actually pretending to be insane. He only feels grief and sorrow because his father s death is too sudden that he does not know how to handle and response. Yet, the death of Hamlet s father is one of the factors that cause Hamlet to become insane. Hamlet s mother marriage with King Claudius is another reason that indirectly contributes to Hamlet s insanity. This is because Hamlet s mother, Gertrude, marries to his father s brother quickly after his father has just died. Hamlet simply thinks his mother s remarriage to King Claudius is disgusting because it is incest and he thinks his mother has betrayed his father. According to Johnson Samuel, he argues it is necessary to evaluate character Gertrude in order to understand how her remarriage to Claudius eventually leads to his son madness (Johnson). First of all, one of the critics, Niamh J. O Leary, thinks Shakespeare depicts Gertrude as an independent woman who is able to make her own judgments and overcome panics. This is because when King s Hamlet dies, it does not take Gertrude a long time to recover as she marries to his husband s brother quickly. Moreover, Niamh argues Gertrude decides to marry King Claudius because she wants to protect his son. She needs to protect his son because she knows Claudius has murdered her husband (O Learny). In the play, audiences can see Hamlet describes his mother, Gertrude as a disloyal woman who betrays her husband. It is this betrayal that causes Hamlet to become insane when he confronts his ... Casey and David are both alike because they both had a battle and they felt like they were going to win that battle. I know this because in the articles it said that the people knew that Casey was going to hit the ball and if the people believe that means that Casey would believe. It also said in one of the articles that David felt like he was going to win because he had God on his side. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Casey up to Bat his battle was to hit the ball and he struck out. In David and Goliath David s battle was to kill Goliath and he did. If one struck out and the other killed a giant that means that one lost their battle and the other didn t. Another way I think they are different is because Casey boasted and David did not. In Casey up to bat it said that Casey said that pitch isn t my style. In David and Goliath it said that David said that he was going to win because God was on his side. This proves that Casey boasted and David did not because if you watch something go by you think that it s not good enough then that is boasting because not everything is going to be perfect. David did not boast because he had a reason to think that he was going to win and he didn t act like he was all that. The last reason why I think they are different is because David was judged in a bad way and Casey was judged in a good way. In David and Goliath it said that David s brothers called him a brat. Casey was judged in a good way because in Casey up to bat it said that everyone thought that he was going to hit. If you get called a brat that is offensive so that would be a bad judgement. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tauches states that gender is a socially constructed term and our behavior is supposed to be contingent on our gender identity. The gender binary, being either female or male, allows people to easily determine the sex of someone else. Butler feels that drag disrupts this binary and heteronormativity. By performing a gender that may not match the anatomy underneath the costume, a queen makes it hard to distinguish gender and blurs the lines of the binary. Tauches also states that gender is based on what is considered legitimate or correct for a certain sex. This notion is prevalent throughout the works of Bishop, Mann and Horowitz. Each work shows, to a certain extent, how heteronormativity dictates not only how drag queens perform gender, but how they are perceived. In Bishop s work, drag queens are viewed as less than in some cases because they do not perform the correct masculine standard. In Mann s work, Suzanne performs gender by using stereotypical feminine Southern language that is considered polite or correct for the regional location. The financial costs of creating newer and stronger antibiotics are exceedingly high. • 37. Drug Testing In Sports Essay A dominant problem in sport today is the use of performance enhancing drugs (doping). The temptation of doping is high because athletes are constantly judged on their performance. However drug testing is costly; per person, a drug test costs around $700. New Zealand athletes are often missing out on dreams they have worked a lifetime to fulfill, because of world wide, performance enhancing drug use. Drug testing has an exorbitant cost. New Zealand s expenditure alone in 2015/16 amounted to $2.962 million. Are these tests even fair and worth the cost? Most athletes consume some sort of dietary supplement that has no evident effect on performance enhancement, for example, a simple multivitamin can test positive in a drug test from being on the same production line as a prohibited substance. An unpublished survey revealed that 93% of elite New Zealand athletes had ingested at least 3 dietary supplements in the 6 months previous, a risk when drug testing is definite. The line between supplement use and an actual performance enhancing drugs ... New Zealand athletes publically exposing cheating are bullied by opposing athletes and media. Programs are urgently needed to be put in place in countries that encourage performance enhancing drug use, to educate young athletes of the danger of doping. Stricter regulations on health and supplement industry, should be enforced on the multi billion dollar companies, whereby they have to prove the safety of their product. These issues need to be addressed by WADA (World Anti doping Agency) urgently. Overall these actions will minimise the disadvantages faced by New Zealand and other honest ... I personally thought and think that anyone can be a leader. I feel this way because there are different kinds of leaders. I also think leaders can be taught by learning from examples set forth from other great leaders. 2. Now, use the Internet and find at least three articles or sites that discuss leadership. Based on your work, how is leadership defined? What are some of the best practices of leaders? Based on the information that I found leadership means a person who is able to motivate, direct others to achieve goals and inspire along the way. One of the practices that stood out to me was helping people to achieve what they think is the impossible. Another practice I found to be amazing is being a leader is lifting others up and serving those who work with you. 3. Explain. I think that most leaders are taught to lead. While a person may have more of an outgoing personality trait than others it does not mean they cannot be great leaders. As long as a individual is open to new learning experiences they are able to lead. I do not think that people are just born to lead, a leader needs real world education and experience. The strike was called out by the Trade Union. In the United States, none affected the everyday lives of those left at home to the extent that the Second World War did. The government rationed essential war material, such as rubber, gasoline, and numerous food items. Teens, disabled, middle aged, and elderly, male and female, kept farms productive and factories turning out munitions at an unprecedented level. Although people endured hardships, they also found opportunities for adventure and financial gain. For countless people, the war changed the direction of their lives.1 Their stories are diverse. Ed s Tall Tales In the 1960s, during my junior high and high school years, I frequently earned money by working for our next door neighbors, Ed and Alice Larson. In the winter, I shoveled the snow from their sidewalks and occasionally, when the snow accumulated from multiple storms, I cleared the snow off their roof. In the summer, I received seventy five cents each time I mowed their grass. Since Ed provided both the lawn mower and fuel, I discounted my usual one dollar charge for a lawn of their size. It also promotes respect for peoples distinct cultural identity. Implying multiculturalism to Canada was one of Trudeau s greatest accomplishments. One night when I was talking to my mom she said she had seen it before and said she really liked it; she was even singing part of The Impossible Dream on the phone. I knew beforehand that they were using the same set from Life is a Dream and I automatically recognized the set, it was still very different, but a lot of the same things. In the 1980 s, it rose from eighteen to twenty one in an attempt to reduce the amount of underage drunk driving accidents. While the number of traffic fatalities have declined over the past few decades, many would argue that the law has spawned many new problems as well, such as an increase in alcohol poisoning deaths and binge drinking. As previously stated, the primary reason for adjustment to the legal drinking age was to address the preposterous number of drunk driving accidents. Since 1979, the rate of binge drinking has increased 20 percent in non college women and 40 percent in women who attend college, and this rate continues to rise. College students that are not of age to drink legally engage in pre game sessions, where the primary goal is to get drunk before attending a social event. To obtain this goal, the young adults take multiple shots of hard liquor in rapid succession (McCardell) in locations that are beyond administrative authority. These unsafe and unhealthy drinking behaviors lead to many short and long term health effects. Drinking is driven away from responsible adults who could model moderation for young adults and instead driven into risky settings, heavily weighted with peer pressure and usually not supervised by any non intoxicated people. While drunk driving is a problem, a study from the National Institute of Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse states that of 5,000 deaths involving alcohol in those under the age of 21, more than 60 percent of the fatalities occur off of roadways (McCardell).
