The two books The Outsiders and The Wednesday Wars are very similar and diverse in countless
ways. The location, main characters, and influences help demonstrate these similarities and
differences. In the book, The Wednesday Wars, Holling HoodHood lives in Long Island with
what his father likes to think is the perfect family. He is a 13 year old boy who goes to Camillo
Junior High but with this time in history, during the Vietnam War, his life could change. For
Ponyboy Curtis life is almost completely different. Where he lives, life is not the all American
dream. Competition between the Socials and the Greasers is always a constant threat for him and
his gang. Ponyboy Curtis is a greaser like no other. His ability to comprehend school subjects set
him apart from the rest of his gang. In both books you would be able to find similarities in where
they take place, the main characters, and the people who influence their lives. The location of
where each story takes place affect the main characters differently. The setting of The Outsiders is
fun, dangerous, disturbing, and even heart wrenching. Ponyboy describes the town as being
economically split into two parts, East and West. These two parts cause Ponyboy to worry more

Between the years 500 A.D. and 1400 A.D., a time referred to as the Middle Ages occurred in
Europe. This era began as the Roman Empire collapsed, following the disorder that occurred

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a classic Disney movie that most people know the plot to.
Before Walt Disney turned the tale into a movie, Brother Grimm had their own version of the
tale. Although the two stories had the same storyline there are many differences between them.
The main reason for the differences would be the audiences the creators are attracting. In the
Brothers Grimm version of Snow White the tale starts with a queen who wanted a child. She
had said she want a child as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as the wood of the
window frame (83). The queen had given birth to a daughter who had all of the qualities she had
wished for, but died not long after her birth. In Walt Disney s version of Snow White and the
Seven Dwarfs the tale starts out with the evil queen asking the mirror who the fairest one of all.

Tallchief, from the story The Osage Firebird, becomes a great and well known ballerina although
she faces prejudice, criticism, and teasing when she was young. She turned into a great and
successful ballerina because she overcame many obstacles. Rosa Bonheur, from the story A Life
Painting Animals, becomes a great artist and famous for her works of art although she also
faced prejudice and had disagreements with her father. She did not let hurdles slow her down or
stop her from being successful. Both of the women in these stories had to overcome prejudice to
get where they wanted to be in their career. Marie faced prejudice because of her race and where

a good horror movie. I believe there is nothing that can bring a group of friends together like a good

written and directed by Jennifer Kent. This film is a psychological horror, meaning it uses
different twists and tricks to scare you rather than using creepy creatures or gore. The main plot
of this movie is about a widowed mother, named Amelia who is still struggling with the effects
the death of her late husband has on her while she is raising their son, Samuel. The antagonist in

My Grandfather s Lessons I remember when I was young, I loved fishing with my Grandfather

be around when he made jokes, played around, and taught me life lessons. Reeling in fishes was
