Communist Party And Its Muslim Minorities
On September 23rd 2014, China found the prominent Uyghur scholar Ilham Tohti guilty of
separatism and sentenced him to life in prison. This ruling came as a shock to the international
community, for he has been the foremost advocate of peacefully resolving Uyghur ethnic unrest in
China. Ilham Tohti is an ethnically Uyghur economist, professor, writer, and public intellectual who
has been spearheading the vanguard of cultivating mutual understanding and respect amongst Han
and Uyghur Chinese. He has been steadfast on working within the system to finding a solution that
will be mutually beneficial for the Communist Party and the Uyghur ethnic minorities in Xinjiang,
home to many of China s ethnic Turkic Muslims. Even in the face of adversity, he has been
outspoken and quick to criticize the missteps of the Communist Party s governance and policies
towards Xinjiang province and its Muslim minorities. Due to that, the CCP views him as a threat,
rather than a solution, to the extreme affairs of episodic ethnic and political unrest in Xinjiang.
With the growing resentment from the Uyghur populous towards government s policies, the
tensions in the Xinjiang region between Muslim Uyghur minorities and Han Chinesehave escalated
to waves of terrorist attacks around China, with the recent stabbing in Kunming, being dubbed as
China s 9/11 . In response, the CCP has imposed a more oppressive campaign to crackdown on the
separatists and stabilize the region. In this plight,

Master Harold and the Boys by Athol Fugard
In a play, rituals are a series of actions performed by people in a normal situation; thus, the
performers undergo a change from ordinary performers into a community of participants. To ensure
that the drama reflects a real ritual, characters must abandon their normalcies and assume different
roles. In Master Harold ... and the boys and Endgameby Athol Fugard and Samuel Beckett,
respectively, relationships are developed for mutual gain; they promote personal welfare,
satisfaction, and gain. The ritualistic method by which the characters converse reveals the absurdity
and necessity of relationships.
In Master Harold ... and the boys, Sam and Willie, two black waiters who work for Hally s
mother at a tea shop in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, practice for the ballroom dancing
competition and the performance of it, which represents a world without collisions . Sam and
Willie see dancing as a way to get away from [their] lives, the oppression, and the past , to escape
societal boundaries without any hindrances bad relationships, oppression, and other societal vices
that keep individuals from freedom. The dancing signifies the search for happiness and hope,
despite hate. Sam suggests trying to learn to dance like champions, not beginners . Hally develops
the idea of dancing into a political debate and views dancing as a way of releasing primitive
notions . His interpretation of dancing demonstrates his incapability to see beyond what he s been
taught. The mild banter between

The Substitute Perspectives On Tongue And Character By...
This writing audit will talk about the substitute perspectives on tongue and character by
Thornborrow, Edwards, Weber and Horner, and their viewpoints. The thought is to contemplate,
look at and show the refinements and comparable qualities as talked about by these author s, and
state whether I agree or vary their work. Essentially, I will express why Tabouret Keller s work
differs in an approach to manage tongueand character.
Lingo and identity is generally perceived as who and what we appear to be, and where we start
from. Thornborrow states that one of the focal ways we have of setting up our identity, is through
our use of vernacular (1999). So also, Edwards (2009) states that the tongue we use shapes a basic
bit of our sentiment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As showed by Edwards (2009), everyone is used to supplement, language and vernacular
assortments that reveal speakers enlistments particularly talk gatherings, social classes, ethnic and
national get togethers. Weber and Horner (2012) says that in any given place and time, a couple of
lingos will be viewed as being more useful resources than others, in a way that by and large depends
upon the particular setting we are in. Besides, Thornborrow (1999) states that identity is
multifaceted, people switch into different parts at different conditions in different conditions.
Moreover she says that a couple of arrangements of lingo are more regarded than others, and what
considers the famous shape can change the particular condition and kind of phonetic development.
Along these lines, people for the most part substitute their technique for discourse dependent on
where they get themselves geographically.
Weber and Horner (2012) states that we generally order different people by stamping them, trying
to settle some individual s character, lessening it to a lone focus part that totals up his or her
identity in our eyes. Likewise, Thornborrow (1999) says that social groupings, or characteristics of
character, are frequently constrained on a couple of get togethers by others. She communicates that
a person s social identity is not something that you can essentially choose alone, it is also bound up
with how others see you . Edwards (2009) says that

What Is Locke s Argument For The Existence Of Spinoza
Similarly to the way Spinoza took the terms given by Descartes to an extreme, Berkeley did with
Locke. When Locke argued for the existence of a substratum holding our perceptions of
phenomena together, he defined the substratum as something, I know not what. Berkeley, found
that notion to be preposterous and a blatant contradiction. It is unintelligible to claim to have a
coherent idea of something that is by definition, impossible to have an idea of it. Besides, even
if it were remotely possible to form an idea of substance there would be no reason to believe
there could ever be such a thing in existence. It is not impossible for all of our perceptions to
exist without the presence of a material substance. Berkeley goes on to reject Locke s distinction
between secondary and primary qualities; because he feels that if anyone took the time to really
read about it, then they would realize they are the same thing. In Berkeley s opinion it is a

Berkeley was not naГЇve enough to believe things disappeared and popped back into existence
depending on whether or not a human mind was actively perceiving it. He knew we did not
possess that kind of power. Also, that we do not always have complete control of our
perceptions of impressions. He defines real things as things that possesses qualities of coherence,
order, steadiness, etc. It is unwise to believe ideas of real things can be anything but a perception
in a mind. Since there is an undeniable uniformity it is not determined by our will (like our
imagination is) our ideas of real things are imprinted onto our senses by the goodness and wisdom
of that governing spirit whose will constitutes the laws of nature, (pp.453) making it possible for a

Galatians 6 Analysis
Amenably, in Galatians 5, 6, Paul explicates the outcome of justification by grace through faith is
spiritual freedom. Paul appealed to the Galatians to persevere in their freedom, and not become
ensnared in the slavery of Mosaic Law. Christian independence is not a justification to appease one
s lower nature, rather a prospect to love one another. Such freedom does not isolate one from life s
struggles. In actuality, it may strengthen the battle concerning the Spirit and the flesh. Nonetheless,
the flesh remains crucified with Christ, consequently the Spirit bears His fruit as in love, joy, and
peace in the natural life of the believer. Inspirationally, Paul chronicled the epistle to the Galatians

density. It has long been criticized for its bad air quality compared to its advanced economy. With
the recently hazardous air pollution in China mainland, HK has been affected as well for its
geographic neighborhood. The Air quality readings recently (PM2.5: 60Вµg/mВі) have exceeded
the loose local standard (50Вµg/mВі), 3 times of WHO s recommended standards (20Вµg/mВі).

As we can observe from graph 1, the key stakeholders are 3 groups: Government departments

competitors (other EV automakers, like Nissan).
Among the key stakeholders, government departments could be the key role of decision making.
They have the willingness of adopting EV taxi / bus under current urgent circumstances, but BYD

the start and success of the project, such as the quantity of new dedicated taxi licenses or
enforcement of taxi replacement; bus line adjustments and old vehicle replacement; monetary and
other non monetary incentives. As we mentioned in table 2, their influences and

Introduction:
Afferent neurons are sensory neurons that conduct signals toward the central nervous system (CNS)
and are specialized in sensing heat, pressure, and chemicals (Saladin, 2011). These neurons send
information about stimuli to the CNS and are located everywhere in the body but always end up in
the brain and spinal cord (Saladin, 2011). Afferent neurons also send information about internal and
external environmental factors to the CNS. (Sherwood, 2014). Efferent neurons lead to muscle
cells, and send signals away from the CNS (Saladin, 2011). These neurons send signals to
effectors like muscle and gland cells that carry out the function of the received response (Saladin,
2011). The cerebral cortex in the forebrain has special senses and general senses (Saladin, 2011).
Some of these senses include smell, hearing, equilibrium, vision, touch, pressure, temperature, and
pain. These all deal with sensory awareness and motor control. (Saladin, 2011). The spinal cord is
located between the afferent and efferent fibers pf the peripheral nervous system (PNS) which
serves two important roles (Sherwood, 2014). The first is a connection from the brain to the rest of
the body to send and receive

Effects and implications of coalition governments on the political scenario in India
Abstract:
Parliamentary democracies ruled by multiparty cabinets make foreign policy decisions in a fairly
unique institutional context, complicated by the politics of coalition government. Recent research
suggests that this context is associated with foreign policy behaviors that are quite distinct in
character from foreign policy made by single party cabinets. In particular, coalitions tend to engage
in more extreme (both more peaceful and more aggressive) and more committed foreign policies.
In this paper, we examine the reasons behind extreme foreign policy choices by coalition cabinets.

In the 2004 Indian elections, the INC won the largest number of Lok Sabha seats and formed a
government with a coalition called the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), supported by various
parties. In the 2009 Lok Sabha Elections, it won again with a surprising majority, the INC itself
winning more than 200 seats.
At the federal level, India is the most populous democracy in the world while many neighboring
countries witness frequent coups; Indian democracy has been suspended only once. Nevertheless,
Indian politics is often described as chaotic. More than a fifth of parliament members face criminal
charges and is not unheard of that most state assembly seats are held by convicted criminals.
Corruption in India is common rather corruption and crime are the qualifications for being a
politician in India.
What is a collation Government?
A coalition government is one in which several political parties must cooperate in order to run a
country or region. A coalition government is often times considered a very weak form of
government because there is no majority party. In such cases, the only way policy gets approved is
by making concessions, hence the forming of a coalition.
A coalition government, also known as a coalition cabinet, can be one of the most entertaining, and
volatile, forms of government. Often, it may be hard to know how an issue is going to turn out,
unlike countries where there are only

Original Sin In The Bible
One of the most commonly known stories of the Bible is the story of Adam and Eve. The story is
contained within that of Genesis, and a crucial moment in this tale is the moment Eve is tempted
by the serpent to go against God s will. This crucial moment is known as original sin, as this
moment is when both Adam and Evefall from God s favor into the suffering and sin that is present
in our modern world. The tribulations that we were exempt from previously were now instated in
our dominion due to this original sin. However, while reading this Biblestory, I did not truly
understand this insight. While analyzing and reading the actual story for the first time, I gained
more insight into this original sin, and God s almighty power over all,... Show more content on

In Milton s Paradise Lost, Satan is characterized as a vengeful fallen angel who, while attempting
to rile his fallen army once again to battle, constantly battles with the inner despair and sorrow he
feels due to his loss against God. Satan struggles to fully realize God s almighty power against
the fallen angels, although the point is made by multiple different fellow commanders. Satan
then focuses his destruction upon God s creation, humans. He believes that by introducing sin to
them, he will grieve God. The epic poem ends the second book with Satan s ascent into Heaven
to trick Adam and Eve. In Paradise Lost, the book s message states that when humans are given
the choice between sin and salvation, the choice of salvation and return to God s grace makes
God s power even stronger than any evil s. Paradise Lost reinstates the insights I claimed through
the story in the Bible, that we must be aware of the choices we make between good or bad, and
that if we are drawn into temptations and sin, God s salvation is always more powerful than any
temporary luxury that temptation

Ethical issues and decision
As a project manager, the most important rule I have to obey is to be honest.
Obviously, I will not go with the dishonest suggestion provided by my team member. If we send a
demo version to the client, I strongly believe that the hospital will apply the prognostic system to
their patients even after our warnings. Basically, I need to consider our company s reputation. If the
demo system used by mental health care services and it causes accidents, such as misinput of

I refuse to send the defective version to the mental health care services, not only because of our
reputation and ethics towards patients, but also the responsibility we have to take if some serious
results appear. Our company may have to face lawsuit and punished according to the contract. Also,
it may pose threat to my future career.
Generally, the only benefit brought by the demo version is the punctual delivery, while many
potential risks accompany with it. Therefore, after deliberateness, I will not accept the suggestion

Female Harassment In The Military Essay
Women in the U.S. military have always had a tough row to hoe ; those women who literally broke
ground, opened doors, and made the choice of a military career easier for those who followed, were
the beginning. Today the fight is continuing. Inequality and sexual harassment towards women
continues to persist, because the militaryВЎВ¦s leadership when faced with the option of ill repute
or justice ignores justice.
Women deserve fair treatment, a non hostile environment, and a chance to further their careers on
an equal footing with man. The fact that harassment, discrimination, and sexual assaults are still
occurring in our esteemed military in such numbers is appalling. The militaryВЎВ¦s overall

ВЎВ§By precluding women from the core functions of the military, they define women as marginal

In 1994, the annual Navy wide Personnel Survey included questions on womenВЎВ¦s role for the
first time. Some 65 percent of officers and almost 50 percent of enlisted respondents said they did
not think women were fully accepted in combat roles. While approximately 80 percent said
harassment was not tolerated at their command, almost half of all respondents disagreed that
everyone is treated equally in promotions and advancements.
Some of this is based on the presumed physical and psychological characteristics of women, which
may interfere with their performances in combat rich situations. For example: the physical strength
of women. People believe that women are not strong enough to lift and carry heavy equipment or
wounded fellow soldiers and that they lack endurance to perform these tasks over a lengthened
period. In addition, there is the idea that women cannot perform strenuous tasks quickly, like
loading heavy shells into a weapon. Moreover, combat is not for the weak and slow. Although
allowing women in combat remains a top priority, women are now serving in virtually every other

Essay on Whistleblowing
Sharon Watkins earned her 15 minutes of fame the honest way, as the Enron employee who blew
the lid off of then CEO Ken Lay s debauchery. But for every celebrated whistleblower, there are
hundreds who remain in the shadows. And for good Samaritans who do tell their tale, the price they
pay can be exorbitant.
Whistleblowers perform in many careers and are found at all levels of an organization: scientists
and secretaries, lawyers and paralegals, managers and staff, security personnel and computer
specialists, etc. They are as varied in age, ethnic background, education, profession, sex, and income
as the population at large. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The whistleblower him or herself must be carefully scrutinized. What are the personal and the
professional reputations of the whistleblower? What is the motive driving the whistleblower? Is it
to benefit the client or the organization, or is it a need for attention or revenge? Is the
whistleblower s cause seen as legitimate and significant by trustworthy colleagues and friends? Is
the whistleblower aware of the potential consequences of blowing the whistle and still willing to
accept responsibility for actions taken?
Unfortunately, during most of this century many people equated whistleblowers with tattle tales.
For instance, until the early 1980s, legal indices often listed the law of whistleblowing under the
word snitch or informant. During the Nixon era, much of that negative attitude changed. With the
advent of Watergate, the public began to recognize the service whistleblowers were providing to
taxpayers at great risk to themselves.
Further, whistleblowing impacts not just the whistleblower but also their family and friends.
Although whistleblowers have many different backgrounds, skills,

The Dispossessed John Analysis
In the novels The Dispossessed by Ursula LeGuin and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, the two
protagonists, Shevek and John, share keen interests in exploring foreign worlds. However, their
dissatisfaction with the social and economic conditions of their foreign communities compels them
to rebel against local authority, as they strive to reveal the dystopian qualities of their societies to
their citizens. While both protagonists grow up in isolation, Shevek emerges successful in his cause

Inflammatory Bowel Disease Essay
The term Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a general name given to a few disorders that all
fall under the category of inflamed intestines (they become red and swollen.) This is usually due to
a reaction the body causes against its own intestinal tissue. The two most common types of
Inflammatory Bowel Disease are Ulcerative Colitis(UC) and Crohn s Disease (CD). Crohn s disease
can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract; however, it more commonly affects the small
intestine or colon. Inflammatory Bowel Disease is a chronic disease, which means that it lasts a

People who suffer from Crohn s disease may also suffer the same risks of colon cancer, but
typically only if the entire colon is affected. There are also rare extra intestinal cases of
Inflammatory Bowel Disease that occur in organs other that the intestinal tract. These symptoms
may include arthritis, liver and kidney disorders, bone loss, and more.
In cases of children suffering from Inflammatory Bowel Disease, it may also delay puberty. This is
due to the body not absorbing all of the nutrients from their food. They may also suffer from fever,
fatigue, and weight loss.
One symptom that is not definite, but may help decide what form of IBD is present, is where the
pain in the abdomen is located. Typically Ulcerative Colitis patients experience pain in the lower
left section of the abdomen, while Crohn s Disease patients tend to suffer from pain in the lower
right section of the abdomen. With Ulcerative Colitis, bleeding from the rectum during bowel
movements is very common, and bleeding is much less common in patients with Crohn s Disease.
(Tresca, 2009)
While Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn s Disease share similar symptoms, they are treated different
medically. There are cases where the diagnosis of one form of Inflammatory Bowel Disease over
the other is very difficult.

The Effects Of Dyslexia On Children With Dyslexia Essay
Many learning disabilities world wide are over looked if a child doesn t learn at the rate of the
other children, but a teacher might assume that the student is mentally challenged. That might not
be the case. Students world wide struggle with the learning disability known as dyslexia.
Dyslexia is known for the way it twists words and numbers in ones head. It s almost as if the
persons mind is playing a trick on itself. The person might read the text backward or even say his
or her thoughts backwards. Just because one has dyslexiadoes not mean that he or she cannot
major in any specific major. Someone with dyslexia may choose which ever major he or she may
like, although it will be harder for the person and so they will have to put more time in and work
harder than everyone else. This is true in nursing students with dyslexia; they have to put more hard
work in than anyone else and yet they still might not be where they want to be.
In the article Experience of Nursing Students with Dyslexia on Clinical Placement by Christopher
McPheat, the author informs people that students with dyslexia need more help in the clinical
setting. He writes with a serious tone to let the audience know that this is not a light situation and
to take it very seriously. Although there is no greater risk of harm with nurses in dyslexia, they still
need more help. McPheat gives suggestions of how they could get help. The author who is a staff
nurse has credibility writing this article because

Theories of Psychology Essay
1. Theories of Multiple Intelligences: Howard Gardner proposed the theory of multiple
intelligences in his book, Frames of Mind in 1983 (Smith, 2006). Initially, Gardner spoke of seven
intelligences and later added two. The first two are considered fundamental and most revered in the
public school system, they are Linguistic intelligence and Logical Mathematic intelligence.
Linguistic intelligence includes the capability to use, speak and learn languages and words. Logical
Mathematic intelligence is the skill of working proficiently with numbers. Musical intelligence is
the ability of performing, recognizing, and writing music. Bodily Kinesthetic intelligence is
utilizing the mind and the body together to solve problems. Visual Spatial... Show more content on

When asked what season of the year, you would arrive at the conclusion that it is winter.
Availability Heuristics is when we base a conclusion or decision on the first thing that comes to
mind (Roberts, 2006). For example, if you were asked what disease affects cigarette smokers
most often? The first thing that comes to our mind is cancer because it is the disease that is
spoken of most often in association with cigarettes. However, according to the American Heart
Association (2008) heart disease affects cigarette smokers more often than cancer. Framing is

fixedness occurs when one cannot see other uses for common items (Roberts, 2006). For
example, you need a bucket to carry water for your flowers, you do not have a bucket but you do
have a garbage can, so what do you do? Think outside the box and use the garbage can.
Confirmation bias occurs when we seek out only the information that backs up the choice that we

Which Colony Was The First Colony
It was just the beginning of the new world in 1607 when the first colony was settled by the
British. More than one hundred years later King George the second granted a charter allowing
James Oglethorpe and others to establish last of the thirteen colonies. Georgia, a Proprietary
colony consisted of the land that was unclaimed between the Spanish and South Carolina. James
s idea was to use Georgia as a place to send prisoners who owed a debt to the British to the new
world since they were accumulating space in their prisons. The reasoning behind this idea was
due to him having a friend owing money that he couldn t pay because he was in jail and dying
since the prison s condition were terrible. So they would have an opportunity to pay off their...

Most common among this colony was Baptist and Anglican. At times it depended what you
learned because of where you live. Mass was also held in their meetinghouse. They would
usually spend a whole day at a church due to them believing religion deserved dedication for a
day. Only one religion was banned which was Catholicism. The reasoning for this being was the
Spanish was mainly catholic and if you practiced it you could have suspected as a Spaniard.
Another concern was that if there were ever a dilemma between the lands Catholics might
sympathize with the Spanish. Solely on the fact for just having the same religion. However
eventually over time it was allowed to be praticeUnlike the other twelve colonies that were led
by a royal governor, when the settlers reached the colony James Oglethorpe was the only leader
and governor for while. He eventually had to focus on more on defending South Carolina and
his own colony from the Spanish in Florida. Although Georgia had trustees who ruled from
England, Oglethorpe was one of them. Everyone worked to support their and their families
needs. As far as education boys would learn from their parents or have a tutor. If their parents
didn t teach them they would attend schools which were small because not many attended.
Unfortunately, girls didn t have the same opportunities not even if they got older, only males had
a right to an education. The southern colonies had a great advantage with the weather and plains.
So agriculture blossomed and succeed. Tobacco was the first crop raised by the Southern
colonies. On plantation slaves were the one to harvest crops like tobacco, cotton, and other
natural resources. Also developing lumber, rice and indigo. They were sold as cash crops which
were greatly profited from since transporting was so easy due to many waterways.

Margaret Atwood s Surfacing Essay
Margaret Atwood s Surfacing
Throughout the book the narrator constantly intertwines the past and present as though it is side
by side. Atwood shows this in the opening sentence I can t believe I m on this road again . The
use of the adjective again reveals the narrator has been in this place in an earlier life. The narrator
seems to repress a lot of her past and continuously contradicts herself, which at times confuses the
reader as we can not tell whether she is talking about her past or her present and whether she
regards it as home as she says Now were on home ground foreign territory .
This links in with one of the key divisions in the story between the
Americans and the Canadians that is portrayed throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This links in with when the narrator says I never identified it as mine and all the time it was in
me I felt like an incubator , as a mother she should not be feeling this way suggesting she lacks the
emotional intelligence as a nurturer and a lover, which is ironic as later we find she never actually
gave birth to this child.
Another key point of the narrators division from her emotion is when she refers to her child as it .
This impersonal singular pronoun reiterates the protagonist s lack of sentiment. This also links in
with chapter 3 as the narrator reveals her relationship with Joe as predominantly sexual cool he
called it, was the way I took off my clothes and put them on again later very smoothly as if I wee
feeling no emotion reiterating her lack of emotion/affection.
In chapter three we see the conflict between the two languages of
French and English starting to arise. On page twenty we see the first utterance occurring when the
waitress in the restaurants utters
Amburger impersonating the protagonist s English dialect. The narrator then states This is border
country . In this simple sentence it is clear to see the notion of division twenty protagonist holds.
The protagonist seems to be somewhat paranoid as to whether she belongs in this place.
Again on page t we see the narrator being placed in a paradoxical position when she thinks if you
live in a place you should speak the language. But this isn t where I

Analysis of The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost Essays
Analysis of The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost ?The Road Not Taken? (1916) tells of someone
faced with two of life?s decisions however only one can be chosen. Whichever road is taken will
be final and will determine the direction that their life takes. Frost drives this poem by a calm
and collective narrative, spoken by the traveler of the diverged roads. Who is speaking with
himself trying to convince himself of which road is the better choice. Frost wrote this poem using
standard, modern language. In line one Frost introduces the diverging roads, which are his main
metaphors. Diverging being the key word in this line because it suggests that the traveler must
make a choice. Line two the speaker expresses his grief of not being... Show more content on

The exclamation point after line 13 conveys excitement, but that excitement is severed by his
admission in the following lines. ?way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come
back?(3.14,15). In the final stanza, lines 16 20 the tone of the poem changes completely. This is
the only stanza that begins with a new sentence, indicating that it is a stronger break from the
previous ideas. The speaker puts himself in a future situation discussing his life. What he states
here seems to contradict what he has said earlier. From his future prospective he says that the
paths where different and that he did not choose the one most traveled by. Perhaps he will in the
future actually believe this and he only wishes that he could choose in the present ?the one less
traveled by.?(5.20) ?The Road Not Taken? was structured by Frost to form four quintains. The
majority of the lines contain nine syllables. This structure is maintained through out the poem. The
stanzas are arranged like that of a thought. One continues to undermine the other, much like
decision making. Our first thoughts are always second guessed by our second and so forth until
we make our final decision, which cancels out all that was thought before. This is what Frost
manages to do in the arrangement of his stanzas. Imagery is the primary concept of this work. The
two roads are each described in such a way that the reader can easy picture the

Everyday Use By Alice Walker Analysis
There is something oddly familiar and comforting in the short story Everyday Use by Alice
Walker. Perhaps it is the sweet drawl of southern charm that holds readers attention or maybe it
is the way Walker redefines an insecure character, and transforms them into a character whose
inner persona mirrors that of their own outer strength; nothing reads truer than the character of
Mama. Mama describes herself as a bigger woman, who wears overalls, has calloused hands, and
is not afraid to get them dirty. Mama is hardy and unwavering, she is the very essence of a hard
worker. Mama takes pride in the fact that she can work just as hard as any man and still managed
to raise two daughters. Mama even brags about her masculine strengths and accomplishments
when she disclosed, I can work outside all day, breaking ice to get water for washing; I can eat
pork liver cooked over the open fire minutes after it comes steaming from the hog. One winter I
knocked a bull calf straight in the brain between the eyes with a sledge hammer and had the meat
hung up to chill before nightfall (Walker). Mama has the physical attributes even a man would be
envious of. However, despite all Mamas physical strengths she has never had the courage to hold
her own; not even with her daughter. From the very beginning Mama showed her insecurities and
passive tone as she tried relentlessly to sweep away debris from the yard in an effort to please her
oldest daughter Dee. Mamma even fantasize

My Friends Begged Me At The New Comedy Central Show
My friends begged me to watch the new Comedy Central show. They said it was the funniest
female friendly series they had ever seen. Abbi Abrams and Ilana Wexler (played by Abbi Jacobson
and Ilana Glazer), the shows main characters, get into dialogs and different situations that center
around casual sex and bathroom humor, which bend and break existing gendernorms. After
watching just one episode, I was completely hooked. It became a weekly ritual for my
roommates and I. Abbi and Ilana play brilliantly to the younger generation by using a
combination of intelligence, humor, and far out scenarios that provoke thought and laughter. It s
quite possible the most pure female friendship ever depicted on television (Blair 2014). Abbi and
Ilana are not glamorized, hyper sexualized, or pitted against each other, they are just funny, bright
individuals who are invested in their friendship and themselves. Broad City is something
different, it does not hang on to sexual conduct or make men the center of their day to day life,
Abbi and Ilana are supremely focused on their own lives. What makes this show so empowering is
the fact that their sexuality, gender roles, and behavior are universal and genuine. Because Broad
City depicts women in an equal and realistic state, the humor, language, and behavior come
together to create a program that changes gender expectations and provides a more complete and
open view of women s sexuality.

Next, consider a manufacturer that keeps safety stock for a product it makes. In many
commodity products, profit margins are low. Suppose profit margin is 10%. The chart above
shows the impact of a 10 day supply disruption on profits. Since safety stock can cover for some
of the supply disruption, the higher the safety stock the lower the profit loss. For instance, if
safety stock is 8 days, only 2 days of revenue is lost and hence the profit loss is for 2 days of
sales only. The corresponding profit loss varies from 2% to 4% depending on how high the fixed
costs are. Figure 2 (above) shows that a manufacturer with 75% fixed costs (in some manufacturing
industries such as semiconductors, fixed costs can be very high) can lose more than twice as much

The s Responsibility Of A Fund
In the name of Allah, the most merciful, the most beneficent.
The root word ka fa la in arabic is derived from the meaning take responsibility of . Conjugations
can be seen in Quran in several spots. In surah Ali Imran [3:37] the word is used to indicated
Zakariya s taking responsibility of Mariam. In the Islamic Finance realm, takaful has taken the
meaning of [Islamic] insurance via mutual agreement.
The concept of takaful has been practiced for over a millenia. In theory it takes the form of a
compensation fund. Contributors pay into a fund. In the event of a covered loss, the compensation
fund pays the damaged. Such compensation funds are present in the United States where
consumers deal with professional service providers, such as real estate brokers and doctors, in
which part of the required licensing fee s are placed into the compensation fund. In the event of
malpractice, or fraud, the consumer is reimbursed. Similarly funds are present in other areas as
well, such as unemployment insurance [compensation] and workplace injury [workmans
compensation], in which employees pay into such funds and are compensated in the event of
unemployment or injury.
In theory, the Islamic method of takaful would take a similar form:

Comparing Ancient Vs. Ancient Philosophers
In comparing ancient skeptics Titus Lucretius Carcus and Wang Ch ung they come from two
different backgrounds one of higher education another that had no former learning or training yet

Special fears that shaped their lives and caused them to be superstitious and even skeptical in the

philosophy to see and understand him a little better in why he was skeptical in nature. One of his
philosophy was the theory on the fear of death was that the people should fear sickness and famine
rather than that of the grave or life after. That is not the parts of the body that support life, but the
wind the life giving wind that leaves our body that is death. (R. Latham, 1951). Wang Ch ung

Empire Rising Character Analysis
Michael Briody, one of the bravest characters in Empire Rising, has a history of fighting for
Britain in World War I and also for the IRA during the Irish Civil War. Having a history of
violence made him perfect for moving to New York and becoming an assassin for the IRA.
Briody works on the Empire State Building to cover his illegal action with the IRA. He will later
realize the significance of working on the building. The building gives Briody the chance to figure
out what he really seeks for in life. Later in the novel he falls in lovewith Grace Masterson as they
share a familiar past. His love towards Grace helps him want to make a change in his life and
leave all of his devastating past behind. Through Briody s tough battles and love for Grace, he
realized that he would want to find a change in his life. Briody develops a considerable passion
working on the Empire State Building. He labels the feeling as crazy, but loves knowing that he s
part of building something real for people to admire. Most people might think it s crazy, but I
love the work... (189) This quote further explains how Briody develops the dedication making it
the only thing he looked forward to in the day. The dedication he has creates the personality of
being a hard worker. There came a point in the novel where regardless any injuries was willing to
work. Working on the building was dangerous, even when Briody smashed his finger, it was no

Safety and Hazard Investigation Board, 2007) There are many small and big decisions and
oversights that led to the incident. Underneath all the specific actions or inaction is a blatant
disregard for addressing safety violations and procedures that had been pointed out to BP even
years before this event. The use of outdated equipment and budget cuts also

Buffalo Soldiers
Buffalo Soldiers
The focal point of my paper will be on the changes in the United States (US) armed forces over
the last century. I chose to compare the Buffalo Soldiers, who existed from 1867 1896, and their
experiences with the current state of the US armed forces. I was drawn to author, ZZ Packer s
Buffalo Soldiers because of my experience in the US armed services and, as I read the book it
became clear that the US armed services today is very different from what it was at the time when
the Buffalo Soldiers existed. I served honorably in both the United States Air Force and United
States Army from 1985 2001, and my experiences are in stark contrast to the experiences of the
Buffalo Soldiers.

I successfully recruited many men and women of multicultural backgrounds by relating my
experiences in the army to them, and many of them have gone on to have brilliant careers in the
United States armed services. As an African American service connected veteran I know that my
experiences in the United States military are not unique. Many African Americans and many
soldiers of all ethnic groups have inspired others to follow their path and that of the early pioneers.
The greatest example of change for minorities in the US Armed Services over time is exemplified
by General Colin Luther Powell, an African Caribbean American with an impeccable career as a
statesman and a retired United States Army four star general. During his stint in the army, General
Powell went on to reach the highest rank that an army officer in the United States Armed Services
could reach, that of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who advise the US Government in
matters of armed conflict. I think that General Powell views became known as the Powell
Doctrine by the media associated with the 1990 1991 Gulf War. The Powell Doctrine includes a
list of questions all of which have to be answered affirmatively before military action is taken by
the United States:
1.Is a vital national security interest threatened?
2.Do we have a clear attainable objective?
3.Have the risks and costs been fully and frankly analyzed?
4.Have all other non violent policy means been fully

Increasing Speed Movement Towards The Electronic Health...
Increasing speed movement towards the electronic health records has additional complexity of
the preference from among choices process, in that the number of systems on the market has
raised. However, appointing a system does not have to be a frighten task. The first and most
understandable questions that needs to be acknowledge is placed. Where do we start? Well you
do not start with the merchant. To obtain any major systems investments must being with a
process. Why will you need to set up a method? The act of founding a method or way underrate
financial risk to your facility and prepares you for the migration from paper to the electronic
record. The health care manufacturing is dedicated to goal of improved quality of health care, cost
effectiveness, and patient safety. Applications of the EHR is high on the records of first concern
and is looked at the tools that will far provide to manage this goal. In a conclusion there has been a
thrust by the federal government, professional and physician health care system and alliance, as
well as the health information technology cooperation, to boost doctors and their usual procedures
to transition from paper to an electronic medical records within the EHR form. Also in the middle
those who identify the value of the EHR to accomplish the goals of safety cost effective and quality,

Introduction
Professional Flooring Supply (PFS) is a wholesale distributor of flooring installation supplies
and sundries. PFS currently has 15 branches located in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma,
Colorado, Utah and Idaho. Each of these locations serves as a distribution point for resale
customers as well as a retail store front for flooring installers. PFS was founded in 1977 with a
location in Houston and in Fort Worth Texas. The company remained fairly small until 2005 when
they began expanding rapidly. PFS in the past has always used a hub and spoke model when it
come to distribution of inventory. The majority of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, another major area of concern is when the inventory counts in the system do not match
what is physically on hand in the warehouse. This can occur for a number of different reasons. The
main cause however is poor cycle counting. PFS has implemented the use of cycle counts to insure
that inventory counts are done regularly to make sure everything matches and is correct. These
counts are being done in the middle of the day when the warehouse workers are trying to pull
inventory for deliveries, receiving in inventory, and picking inventory for customers who are there.
As previously mentioned a lot of times these items are not located properly so this worker is
rushing through the list trying to count the goods while performing all the other tasks and often
times misses items that may be in stock, just improperly located. That worker will then have to
write off that inventory causing the purchasing department to reorder the needed quantities to
satisfy customer orders.
Literature Review
The main focus of the solutions needed for PFS revolve around the management of the supply chain
and how that can be made into a more automated process that will lower the amount of possible
manual errors. Talib, Rahman, and Qureshi discuss the similarities of Total Quality Management
(TQM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) and how they each are used in business processes.
They state The extant review of literature revealed that

Sons And Lovers By D. H. Lawrence
Sons and Lovers by D. H. Lawrence is based on the life of a boy named Paul Morel, who is going
through life fighting a battle between his mind and heart. Lawrence wrote Sons and Lovers
during the late 1800s and early 1900s. During that time, the book was not like other books. It was
explicit about topics such as sex and love. His books were ahead of time, and he was quite
influenced by Sigmund Freud. I believe that Freud really influenced lawrence s writing during
Chapters 6 and 7 when Paul is starting to get closer to females, and his mother did not want any
other female to be in Paul s life other than herself, which is one of Freud s early theories on
sexuality, and Sons and Lovers deeply explores and revises of one of Freud s major theories, the
Oedipus complex, such as Paul truly and deeply loves his mother compare to any other women
that he would give of his love for that woman to show that he only wants his mother. Sigmund
Freud was born from 1856, and died in 1939. Freud is the father of psychoanalysis. He continued
to modify his theory over a period of nearly half a century. Psychoanalysis focuses on the
unconscious aspects of personality. According to Freud, the human mind is like an iceberg. It is
mostly hidden in the unconscious. He believed that the conscious level of the mind was similar to
the tip of the iceberg which could be seen, but the unconscious was mysterious and was hidden. The
preconscious consists of that which is not in immediate

Advertising Analysis Of Old Spice
Old Spice The Man Your Man Could Smell Like The Old Spice line of products was created in
1938 and was manufactured by the Shulton Company that was founded in 1934 by William
Lightfoot Schultz. Old Spice is a line of products involving body washes, deodorant and body s
sprays for men. Old Spice aired an advertisement in 2012 that used three solid advertisement
techniques to sell people on their product, they were humor, sex appealand bandwagon. The target
audience for Old Spice is not just men or young boys it is aimed mainly towards women using
phrases like The manyour man could smell like . This advertisement conveys a strong message
about strong personality where a man must not only attractive but needs to be confident by
smelling like a real man. The advertisement uses emotional appeal to influence young women who
value strong qualities in a man. Old Spice uses three advertisement techniques that complement
each other. First would be bandwagon by presenting a celebrity know as Terry Crewswho is a very
well known actor and comedian. By using Terry Cruse in their advertisement, they are conveying
the message that if Terry Cruse uses this product you should too Old Spice has used this tactic is
the past by using very masculine men who a have very large physique. This is appealing to the men
and young boys who are wanting to impress women. Humor and sex appeal also tie into creating
this advertisement, Terry Crews is shirtless throughout the whole advertisement he is

Gustave Caillebotte s Paris Street; Rainy Day Essay
Gustave Caillebotte s Paris Street; Rainy Day
The first thing that strikes me is the size of the work. About seven feet tall and nine feet wide, this
painting dominates its gallery and overwhelms the viewer. The couple in the foreground of the
painting is nearly life size, and with the man poised to take another step it seems he might climb
right over the frame and walk right into the gallery. The bold perspective thrusts the scene outward,
and with details such as the sharply receding roofline of the main building and the acute tilt of the
street, geometric and visual effects are created which push and pull the viewer and instill the
painting with action.
This work is more complex and detailed then one might first imagine, ... Show more content on

He tilts his umbrella to the right so as to avoid collision with the couple who neither pay him
attention nor show any signs of tilting their umbrella in deference. A green (a color which
stands out) gas lamp separates these three from the rest of the painting, and also divides the
canvas in half. A little further back a lone man is crossing the street, looking down in a manner
which suggests inward thinking but also illustrates the reality of the wet and mucky road on
which one must watch their step. The rest of the figures receive less influence, but a few of
them are certainly worth noting. Directly to the left of the protagonist s head two women walk
away from the viewer. Their symmetry is visually enticing. Also, above the wagon wheel on the
left side of the painting a man is crossing the street. He piqued my attention because of the odd
position of his body and feet it looks as if he is almost doing a jig. Lastly, one might note how the
front couple s umbrella pole occludes a woman s head in the background; she in turn holds an
umbrella that obscures the head of a workman with ladder behind her; a curious compositional
detail to say the least.
The surface of the painting is characterized mostly by relatively broad painterly brushstrokes which
in that singularly impressionistic manner allow the stuff of paint to really show. Even though the
picture appears much more finished and

Essay On Machine Scheduling
Description Of Machine Scheduling
1 1 Definition Of The Scheduling Problem Scheduling is the process of assigning limited
resources to a set of jobs over a period of time. The resources may be machine in a workshop,
runways at an airport and crews at a construction site, as well as processing units in a computing
environment. The jobs may be operation in the production process, take offs and landing at an
airport, stages in a construction project, executions of computer programs[30]. The goal of
scheduling is to assign resources to the jobs such that one or more objective are optimized.
Scheduling becomes an important concern when resources are limited and need to be utilized to
complete many competing jobs efficiently. Many real world scheduling problem are multi objective
by nature. Traditionally, the most common approach has been to combine the multiple objective
into a single scalar value by using weighted aggregating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of such a dimension is the number of the available machine and the way how these
machines are organized. Then one machine sequencing problem is the simplest one: all jobs have
to be processed on single machine and no two jobs can be processed simultaneously. There are
four classes of job shop scheduling problems [30]
1.2.1 Single Machine Scheduling
The single machine scheduling problem involves scheduling a set of jobs to a single resource.
This is accomplished by determining a sequence that includes each job, and it assigns the jobs to
its source. Each job can give a priority, ready time, processing time, and due date. The value of the
performance measure can be computed on the base of this information and the sequence of jobs.
This problem grows in complicity at an exponential rate as the number of jobs to be scheduling

Cavendish s The Blazing World
In Cavendish s The Blazing World, some of the first elements of science fiction were introduced to
the readers at the time of its original publish. Cavendish used what she called her fancies along with
arguments of her natural philosophy to create a different world that related to the one she was in
and the products of her imagination. Thus, sciencefictional elements are introduced. This did not
only give evidence to her philosophical theories but also entertained the idea of them. By bringing
forth the material world within the immaterial Cavendish establishes a solidity in her natural
philosophy. The Blazing World, cannot function without her philosophy, therefore, to elaborate her
belief in the liveliness of matter, she expresses a need... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without mind intertwining itself with matter nature would be too complex for man to fully
understand. The immaterial world cannot be explained without the material world meaning not
only is there truth in Cavendish s philosophy, but also life within matter is important to further
the pursuit of science and natural philosophy. The importance of mind in matter is evident when
the Empress tries to make a world without it and the Duchess tells her your Majesty s mind is
full of rational corporeal motions, and the rational motions of my mind shall assist you by the
help of sensitive expressions (Cavendish 189). The rational corporeal motions the Empress s mind
do not allow for a rational motion of matter, in which matter would be rational with its sense. The
Duchess assists the Empress with sensible expressions that will allow there to be peace within her
immaterial world in nature and society. Creating an immaterial world within an already immaterial
world of Cavendish s mind allows her to express the bottom line of mind in matter. Science fiction
demonstrates the necessity of unity within

Narrative Essay On The Saver Shamed Beganovic
The Saver Muhamed Beganovic It was an original day at school, all the kids were at their classes

like this school because it s more of a nice school. Not a lot of bullying around this school. This
school has improved a lot since the last years with bullying. While the kids were taking a test at

  • 2. Communist Party And Its Muslim Minorities On September 23rd 2014, China found the prominent Uyghur scholar Ilham Tohti guilty of separatism and sentenced him to life in prison. This ruling came as a shock to the international community, for he has been the foremost advocate of peacefully resolving Uyghur ethnic unrest in China. Ilham Tohti is an ethnically Uyghur economist, professor, writer, and public intellectual who has been spearheading the vanguard of cultivating mutual understanding and respect amongst Han and Uyghur Chinese. He has been steadfast on working within the system to finding a solution that will be mutually beneficial for the Communist Party and the Uyghur ethnic minorities in Xinjiang, home to many of China s ethnic Turkic Muslims. Even in the face of adversity, he has been outspoken and quick to criticize the missteps of the Communist Party s governance and policies towards Xinjiang province and its Muslim minorities. Due to that, the CCP views him as a threat, rather than a solution, to the extreme affairs of episodic ethnic and political unrest in Xinjiang. With the growing resentment from the Uyghur populous towards government s policies, the tensions in the Xinjiang region between Muslim Uyghur minorities and Han Chinesehave escalated to waves of terrorist attacks around China, with the recent stabbing in Kunming, being dubbed as China s 9/11 . In response, the CCP has imposed a more oppressive campaign to crackdown on the separatists and stabilize the region. In this plight, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The dancing signifies the search for happiness and hope, despite hate. Sam suggests trying to learn to dance like champions, not beginners . • 4. The Substitute Perspectives On Tongue And Character By... This writing audit will talk about the substitute perspectives on tongue and character by Thornborrow, Edwards, Weber and Horner, and their viewpoints. The thought is to contemplate, look at and show the refinements and comparable qualities as talked about by these author s, and state whether I agree or vary their work. Essentially, I will express why Tabouret Keller s work differs in an approach to manage tongueand character. Lingo and identity is generally perceived as who and what we appear to be, and where we start from. Thornborrow states that one of the focal ways we have of setting up our identity, is through our use of vernacular (1999). So also, Edwards (2009) states that the tongue we use shapes a basic bit of our sentiment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Weber and Horner (2012) says that in any given place and time, a couple of lingos will be viewed as being more useful resources than others, in a way that by and large depends upon the particular setting we are in. Besides, Thornborrow (1999) states that identity is multifaceted, people switch into different parts at different conditions in different conditions. Moreover she says that a couple of arrangements of lingo are more regarded than others, and what considers the famous shape can change the particular condition and kind of phonetic development. Along these lines, people for the most part substitute their technique for discourse dependent on where they get themselves geographically. Weber and Horner (2012) states that we generally order different people by stamping them, trying to settle some individual s character, lessening it to a lone focus part that totals up his or her identity in our eyes. Likewise, Thornborrow (1999) says that social groupings, or characteristics of character, are frequently constrained on a couple of get togethers by others. She communicates that a person s social identity is not something that you can essentially choose alone, it is also bound up with how others see you . Edwards (2009) says that ... • 5. What Is Locke s Argument For The Existence Of Spinoza Similarly to the way Spinoza took the terms given by Descartes to an extreme, Berkeley did with Locke. When Locke argued for the existence of a substratum holding our perceptions of phenomena together, he defined the substratum as something, I know not what. Berkeley, found that notion to be preposterous and a blatant contradiction. It is unintelligible to claim to have a coherent idea of something that is by definition, impossible to have an idea of it. Besides, even if it were remotely possible to form an idea of substance there would be no reason to believe there could ever be such a thing in existence. It is not impossible for all of our perceptions to exist without the presence of a material substance. Berkeley goes on to reject Locke s distinction between secondary and primary qualities; because he feels that if anyone took the time to really read about it, then they would realize they are the same thing. In Berkeley s opinion it is a categorical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Berkeley was not naГЇve enough to believe things disappeared and popped back into existence depending on whether or not a human mind was actively perceiving it. He knew we did not possess that kind of power. Also, that we do not always have complete control of our perceptions of impressions. He defines real things as things that possesses qualities of coherence, order, steadiness, etc. It is unwise to believe ideas of real things can be anything but a perception in a mind. Since there is an undeniable uniformity it is not determined by our will (like our imagination is) our ideas of real things are imprinted onto our senses by the goodness and wisdom of that governing spirit whose will constitutes the laws of nature, (pp.453) making it possible for a man to manage ... Paul appealed to the Galatians to persevere in their freedom, and not become ensnared in the slavery of Mosaic Law. Christian independence is not a justification to appease one s lower nature, rather a prospect to love one another. Such freedom does not isolate one from life s struggles. In actuality, it may strengthen the battle concerning the Spirit and the flesh. • 9. How The Nervous System Processes Information And Work How the Nervous System Processes Information and Works Together with Muscles to Coordinate Movement and Behavior in Response to Gathered Information By: Margaret Shaughnessy With Group: Nathan Welch Bonnie Hileman Brianna McCann TA: Debbie Moore Section: 502 Introduction: Afferent neurons are sensory neurons that conduct signals toward the central nervous system (CNS) and are specialized in sensing heat, pressure, and chemicals (Saladin, 2011). These neurons send information about stimuli to the CNS and are located everywhere in the body but always end up in the brain and spinal cord (Saladin, 2011). Afferent neurons also send information about internal and external environmental factors to the CNS. (Sherwood, 2014). Efferent neurons lead to muscle cells, and send signals away from the CNS (Saladin, 2011). These neurons send signals to effectors like muscle and gland cells that carry out the function of the received response (Saladin, 2011). The cerebral cortex in the forebrain has special senses and general senses (Saladin, 2011). Some of these senses include smell, hearing, equilibrium, vision, touch, pressure, temperature, and pain. These all deal with sensory awareness and motor control. (Saladin, 2011). The spinal cord is located between the afferent and efferent fibers pf the peripheral nervous system (PNS) which serves two important roles (Sherwood, 2014). Recent research suggests that this context is associated with foreign policy behaviors that are quite distinct in character from foreign policy made by single party cabinets. The story is contained within that of Genesis, and a crucial moment in this tale is the moment Eve is tempted by the serpent to go against God s will. This crucial moment is known as original sin, as this moment is when both Adam and Evefall from God s favor into the suffering and sin that is present in our modern world. The tribulations that we were exempt from previously were now instated in our dominion due to this original sin. However, while reading this Biblestory, I did not truly understand this insight. In Milton s Paradise Lost, Satan is characterized as a vengeful fallen angel who, while attempting to rile his fallen army once again to battle, constantly battles with the inner despair and sorrow he feels due to his loss against God. Satan struggles to fully realize God s almighty power against the fallen angels, although the point is made by multiple different fellow commanders. Satan then focuses his destruction upon God s creation, humans. He believes that by introducing sin to them, he will grieve God. The epic poem ends the second book with Satan s ascent into Heaven to trick Adam and Eve. In Paradise Lost, the book s message states that when humans are given the choice between sin and salvation, the choice of salvation and return to God s grace makes God s power even stronger than any evil s. Paradise Lost reinstates the insights I claimed through the story in the Bible, that we must be aware of the choices we make between good or bad, and that if we are drawn into temptations and sin, God s salvation is always more powerful than any temporary luxury that temptation ... Some of this is based on the presumed physical and psychological characteristics of women, which may interfere with their performances in combat rich situations. People believe that women are not strong enough to lift and carry heavy equipment or wounded fellow soldiers and that they lack endurance to perform these tasks over a lengthened period. Inflammatory Bowel Disease Essay The term Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a general name given to a few disorders that all fall under the category of inflamed intestines (they become red and swollen.) This is usually due to a reaction the body causes against its own intestinal tissue. The two most common types of Inflammatory Bowel Disease are Ulcerative Colitis(UC) and Crohn s Disease (CD). Crohn s disease can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract; however, it more commonly affects the small intestine or colon. This is due to the body not absorbing all of the nutrients from their food. They may also suffer from fever, fatigue, and weight loss. One symptom that is not definite, but may help decide what form of IBD is present, is where the pain in the abdomen is located. Typically Ulcerative Colitis patients experience pain in the lower left section of the abdomen, while Crohn s Disease patients tend to suffer from pain in the lower right section of the abdomen. With Ulcerative Colitis, bleeding from the rectum during bowel movements is very common, and bleeding is much less common in patients with Crohn s Disease. Another key point of the narrators division from her emotion is when she refers to her child as it . This impersonal singular pronoun reiterates the protagonist s lack of sentiment. This also links in with chapter 3 as the narrator reveals her relationship with Joe as predominantly sexual cool he called it, was the way I took off my clothes and put them on again later very smoothly as if I wee feeling no emotion reiterating her lack of emotion/affection. (1916) tells of someone faced with two of life?s decisions however only one can be chosen. Whichever road is taken will be final and will determine the direction that their life takes. Frost drives this poem by a calm and collective narrative, spoken by the traveler of the diverged roads. Who is speaking with himself trying to convince himself of which road is the better choice. The speaker puts himself in a future situation discussing his life. What he states here seems to contradict what he has said earlier. Perhaps he will in the future actually believe this and he only wishes that he could choose in the present ?the one less traveled by.?(5.20) ?The Road Not Taken? was structured by Frost to form four quintains. The majority of the lines contain nine syllables. This structure is maintained through out the poem. The stanzas are arranged like that of a thought. One continues to undermine the other, much like decision making. Our first thoughts are always second guessed by our second and so forth until we make our final decision, which cancels out all that was thought before. Later in the novel he falls in lovewith Grace Masterson as they share a familiar past. His love towards Grace helps him want to make a change in his life and leave all of his devastating past behind. Through Briody s tough battles and love for Grace, he realized that he would want to find a change in his life. Briody develops a considerable passion working on the Empire State Building. He labels the feeling as crazy, but loves knowing that he s part of building something real for people to admire. Most people might think it s crazy, but I love the work... (189) This quote further explains how Briody develops the dedication making it the only thing he looked forward to in the day. The dedication he has creates the personality of being a hard worker. There came a point in the novel where regardless any injuries was willing to work. Working on the building was dangerous, even when Briody smashed his finger, it was no excuse for him to miss work. Recently, their reusable New Shepard rocket was launched into space for the third time, followed by a safe, upright landing. Founder Jeff Bezos described the operation on Twitter as flawless . If Bezos seeks to compete with Elon Musk and SpaceX, that flawless pattern will surely have to continue. BLUE ORIGIN ROCKET LANDS SUCCESSFULLY FOR THIRD TIME Saturday s test flight marked yet another successful landing for Blue Origin s New Shepard rocket. (BP Public Website, 2010) The Texas City Refinery is BP s largest and most complex oil refinery... It was owned and operated by Amoco prior to the merger of BP and Amoco. (Michael P. Broadribb, 2006) Throughout their history, there have been a number of accidents that have been caused by negligence and disregard of safety precautions. Unfortunately many lives have been cut short or seriously injured as a result. My research will focus on the 2005 Texas CityOil Refinery Explosion. I will attempt to look into the ethical implications that surrounded this disaster before and after the event and suggest what BP could have done to prevent the incident then and in the future. What Happened? On March 23, 2005, at 1:20 pm, the BP TexasCity Refinery suffered one of the worst industrial disasters in recent U.S. history. Explosions and fires killed 15 people and injured another 180, alarmed the community, and resulted in financial losses exceeding $1.5 billion. (U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board, 2007) There are many small and big decisions and oversights that led to the incident. Underneath all the specific actions or inaction is a blatant disregard for addressing safety violations and procedures that had been pointed out to BP even years before this event. The use of outdated equipment and budget cuts also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I chose to compare the Buffalo Soldiers, who existed from 1867 1896, and their experiences with the current state of the US armed forces. I was drawn to author, ZZ Packer s Buffalo Soldiers because of my experience in the US armed services and, as I read the book it became clear that the US armed services today is very different from what it was at the time when the Buffalo Soldiers existed. I served honorably in both the United States Air Force and United States Army from 1985 2001, and my experiences are in stark contrast to the experiences of the Buffalo Soldiers. I successfully recruited many men and women of multicultural backgrounds by relating my experiences in the army to them, and many of them have gone on to have brilliant careers in the United States armed services. As an African American service connected veteran I know that my experiences in the United States military are not unique. Many African Americans and many soldiers of all ethnic groups have inspired others to follow their path and that of the early pioneers. The greatest example of change for minorities in the US Armed Services over time is exemplified by General Colin Luther Powell, an African Caribbean American with an impeccable career as a statesman and a retired United States Army four star general. During his stint in the army, General Powell went on to reach the highest rank that an army officer in the United States Armed Services could reach, that of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who advise the US Government in matters of armed conflict. I think that General Powell views became known as the Powell Doctrine by the media associated with the 1990 1991 Gulf War. The Powell Doctrine includes a list of questions all of which have to be answered affirmatively before military action is taken by the United States: 1.Is a vital national security interest threatened? 2.Do we have a clear attainable objective? 3.Have the risks and costs been fully and frankly analyzed? 4.Have all other non violent policy means been fully ... Each of these locations serves as a distribution point for resale customers as well as a retail store front for flooring installers. Finally, another major area of concern is when the inventory counts in the system do not match what is physically on hand in the warehouse. This can occur for a number of different reasons. The main cause however is poor cycle counting. PFS has implemented the use of cycle counts to insure that inventory counts are done regularly to make sure everything matches and is correct. These counts are being done in the middle of the day when the warehouse workers are trying to pull inventory for deliveries, receiving in inventory, and picking inventory for customers who are there. As previously mentioned a lot of times these items are not located properly so this worker is rushing through the list trying to count the goods while performing all the other tasks and often times misses items that may be in stock, just improperly located. That worker will then have to write off that inventory causing the purchasing department to reorder the needed quantities to satisfy customer orders. Literature Review The main focus of the solutions needed for PFS revolve around the management of the supply chain and how that can be made into a more automated process that will lower the amount of possible manual errors. • 48. Sons And Lovers By D. H. Lawrence Sons and Lovers by D. H. Lawrence is based on the life of a boy named Paul Morel, who is going through life fighting a battle between his mind and heart. Lawrence wrote Sons and Lovers during the late 1800s and early 1900s. During that time, the book was not like other books. It was explicit about topics such as sex and love. His books were ahead of time, and he was quite influenced by Sigmund Freud. I believe that Freud really influenced lawrence s writing during Chapters 6 and 7 when Paul is starting to get closer to females, and his mother did not want any other female to be in Paul s life other than herself, which is one of Freud s early theories on sexuality, and Sons and Lovers deeply explores and revises of one of Freud s major theories, the Oedipus complex, such as Paul truly and deeply loves his mother compare to any other women that he would give of his love for that woman to show that he only wants his mother. Sigmund Freud was born from 1856, and died in 1939. Freud is the father of psychoanalysis. He continued to modify his theory over a period of nearly half a century. Psychoanalysis focuses on the unconscious aspects of personality. According to Freud, the human mind is like an iceberg. It is mostly hidden in the unconscious. He believed that the conscious level of the mind was similar to the tip of the iceberg which could be seen, but the unconscious was mysterious and was hidden. The preconscious consists of that which is not in immediate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. Gustave Caillebotte s Paris Street; Rainy Day Essay Gustave Caillebotte s Paris Street; Rainy Day The first thing that strikes me is the size of the work. About seven feet tall and nine feet wide, this painting dominates its gallery and overwhelms the viewer. The couple in the foreground of the painting is nearly life size, and with the man poised to take another step it seems he might climb right over the frame and walk right into the gallery. The bold perspective thrusts the scene outward, and with details such as the sharply receding roofline of the main building and the acute tilt of the street, geometric and visual effects are created which push and pull the viewer and instill the painting with action. This work is more complex and detailed then one might first imagine, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He tilts his umbrella to the right so as to avoid collision with the couple who neither pay him attention nor show any signs of tilting their umbrella in deference. A green (a color which stands out) gas lamp separates these three from the rest of the painting, and also divides the canvas in half. A little further back a lone man is crossing the street, looking down in a manner which suggests inward thinking but also illustrates the reality of the wet and mucky road on which one must watch their step. The rest of the figures receive less influence, but a few of them are certainly worth noting. Directly to the left of the protagonist s head two women walk away from the viewer. Their symmetry is visually enticing. Also, above the wagon wheel on the left side of the painting a man is crossing the street. He piqued my attention because of the odd position of his body and feet it looks as if he is almost doing a jig. Lastly, one might note how the front couple s umbrella pole occludes a woman s head in the background; she in turn holds an umbrella that obscures the head of a workman with ladder behind her; a curious compositional detail to say the least. The surface of the painting is characterized mostly by relatively broad painterly brushstrokes which in that singularly impressionistic manner allow the stuff of paint to really show. • 51. Essay On Machine Scheduling Description Of Machine Scheduling 1 1 Definition Of The Scheduling Problem Scheduling is the process of assigning limited resources to a set of jobs over a period of time. The resources may be machine in a workshop, runways at an airport and crews at a construction site, as well as processing units in a computing environment. The jobs may be operation in the production process, take offs and landing at an airport, stages in a construction project, executions of computer programs[30]. The goal of scheduling is to assign resources to the jobs such that one or more objective are optimized. Scheduling becomes an important concern when resources are limited and need to be utilized to complete many competing jobs efficiently. Many real world scheduling problem are multi objective by nature. An example of such a dimension is the number of the available machine and the way how these machines are organized. There are four classes of job shop scheduling problems [30] 1.2.1 Single Machine Scheduling The single machine scheduling problem involves scheduling a set of jobs to a single resource. This is accomplished by determining a sequence that includes each job, and it assigns the jobs to its source. Each job can give a priority, ready time, processing time, and due date. The value of the performance measure can be computed on the base of this information and the sequence of jobs. This problem grows in complicity at an exponential rate as the number of jobs to be scheduling ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cavendish used what she called her fancies along with arguments of her natural philosophy to create a different world that related to the one she was in and the products of her imagination. Thus, sciencefictional elements are introduced. This did not only give evidence to her philosophical theories but also entertained the idea of them. The importance of mind in matter is evident when the Empress tries to make a world without it and the Duchess tells her your Majesty s mind is full of rational corporeal motions, and the rational motions of my mind shall assist you by the help of sensitive expressions (Cavendish 189). The rational corporeal motions the Empress s mind do not allow for a rational motion of matter, in which matter would be rational with its sense.
