Caesar Augustus
History is made up of individuals who were just living the life they wanted to live. Their actions
ended up making an impact on our world as we know it. At the time they probably had no clue that
the actions they put forth in their time would eventually lead up to the world we know today. Their
life events may not have been grand, but they were enough to make an impact. Caesar Augustus is
one example of a person in history who led a successful life.
Born Gaius Octavius on September 23, 63 B.C., in Velletri, Italy. Augustus was a sickly child with
few connections. Although, one connection he did have was being the great nephew of Julius Caesar
. Augustus was known by three different names throughout his life. From birth to 44 B.C. he
was known as Octavius, in 44 B.C. he was adopted and changed his name to Octavian and in 26
B.C. he was named Augustus by the Roman Senate. His father worked as a senator and governor
of the Roman Republic, and passed away when Augustus was four years old; Caesar s niece Atai
was his mother. In his younger years, his grandmother Julia Ceasaris helped raise him; she was the
sister of Julius Caesar.
Augustus took on the Roman sign of manhood of wearing the toga at age 16, and began taking on
responsibilities through his family connections. At the time Rome was dangerous and engulfed in a
civil war, one faction of the war was led by

The Many Languages of Australia and New Zealand
As of 2013, there are many languages spoken both in Australia and New Zealand. Having a history
dating as far as the 18th century, both countries constitute the Austral realm. Within its many
aspects, one of the most notorious is its language. Known by the humorous effect some of its
sentences and words provoke in people, the languageof the Austral realm has helped shape the
identity of Australia as well as New Zealandand has become an essential spectrum of their culture.
In spite of its variations and the reasons behind its current status, this research paper will be
focusing upon the four main languages of the Austral realm: English, New Zealand s and Australia
s sign language, Australian Indigenous language and the Maori language in New Zealand. Each
language has impacted the Austral realm in its own way and will be viewed both individually and
in comparison within the realm s two states. English s history, what constitutes the signs in New
Zealand s sign language, Australian accent... all of them are part of a culture both beautiful and
unique and should, therefore, be treated with the same care as one would treat any relic.
The Austral realm s languages are viewed by its people as more than only an idiom. Its evolution
throughout decades of history has transformed both Australia and New Zealand into a unique
society, filled with a mixture of words and idioms such as go for a burn and dog s breakfast, both of
which exemplifies some of the reasons of the worldwide

How Did The Bubonic Plague Impact The Byzantine Empire
The Byzantine Empire can be brought back all the way to 330 AD. It was created by Constantine I,
he wanted to have Constantinople stand as the new Roman capital. The Byzantine Empire lasted
until 1453. This is increasingly impressive since it suffered through a strand of the Bubonic Plague.
This plague took the name of the Justinian Plague, named after the ruler Justinian the First (527 565
CE) who was in reign during the first outbreak (History). Procopius, the historian of the Byzantine
Empireduring this time, said in his book that nearly 25% of the population had died from the
disease (Ancient History Encyclopedia). The plague impacted the Byzantine Empire, during the 225
years that it was around, economically, and politically. The plague

Simon Monologue
Stockton Street ran straight through the middle of Chinatown. The smoking sewers billowed up
like the buildings surrounding. On this crisp, cold San Fran morning, Simon wheeled his mother
through the maze of their small apartment. Stacks of wooden chairs, china sets, hatboxes, and
lanterns towered and leaned above. Simon rolled his mom to the small window to watch and
preoccupy her with the passing pedestrians. In this cluttered small, apartment above their shop is
where she spent most of her days, alone.
Simon plodded down the creaking steps of their apartment, descending into the eclectic antique shop
where he busied himself with the tasks (and his recent takes) of the day. Simon shifted about the
shop, murmuring to himself as he continuously ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Simon s soul was still with the small woman trapped in a maze of smoke and mirrors.
The floorboards creaked in response as Simons mother wheeled back and forth, from the window
and back to the head of the stairs. Her sad eyes glinted in the dusky light.
She hadn t eaten all day and had to use the bathroom, but where was Simon?
Simon s soul felt heavy, and wet like he was wearing wool and decided to go for a swim. The
darkness pushed in on him. Shapes appeared, forming larger than life images of the things he had
stolen. He was filled with an overwhelming sense of guilt.
The smoky voice interrupted his berating monologue, I ll make a deal with you .
His hair lay flat as he turned about in a crazed frenzy. Ok... I I mean yes.
His eyes widened in disbelief as the voice echoed her proposition.
He floated about in the unsettling situation, and finally made a choice.
You can take it, just make sure she s okay...
A deal is a deal. The voice slithered through the thick darkness.
Simon never came back home. His mother gave up for the day and went to bed. The next day a
small Asian woman came into Simon and his mother s house. She made breakfast and woke the
mother and explained, Simon sent me. We had a

The Roles Of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba In The 19th Century
When Sri Shirdi Sai Baba incarnated as Avatar, whole galaxy of saints also had to take birth and
function as saints, as spiritualcollaborators or adjuncts of Sri Sai Baba in the divine drama during
the later half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.Naturally our curiosity is
awakened at this point. Sri Shirdi Sai Baba wasone of the Five Perfect Masters: who then were
the other Four Perfect Masters?Aiyer has not given answer to it directly, but in his book Perfect
Masters he gaveprofiles of Upasani Baba, Tajuddin Baba, Baba Jan, Narsing Maharaj and Meher
Bababesides Sri Shirdi Sai Baba. That means, he mentioned five instead of four Perfect
Masters.Bhardawaj cited a very interesting revelation in this connection:

If youthink him to be a Yavan, He looked like a pious Hindu. No one definitely knewwhether He
was a Hindu or a Mohammedan. He celebrated the Hindu festival of Rama Navami with all due
formalities and at the same time permitted the sandal procession of the Mohammedans. ...If you
call Him Hindu, He always lived inthe masjid; if Mohammedan, He always had the dhuni, (the
sacred fire) and the following things which are contrary to Mohammedan religion, i.e., grinding
on th echakki handmill, blowing of the sankh(conch), ringing bells, oblation in the fire, bhajan,
givingof food and worshipping of Baba s feet by means of arghya (water) were alwaysallowed
there. If you think that He was a Mohammedan, the best of Brahmins and Agnihotris, leaving
aside their orthodox ways, fell prostrate at his feet. Sai Baba wassuch a saint, who saw no
difference between caste and creed and even beings andbeings. He took meat and fish with
Fakirs, but did not grumble when dogs touchedthe dishes with their mouth. ...How could He,
who even in dreams never warded off cats and dogs by harsh words and signs, refuse food to poor
and helpless people. He saw divinity in all beings. Friends and foes were alike to Him. He even
obliged the evil doer and was the same in prosperity and adversity. No doubt ever touchedHim. 22
Thus we can see that Sri Shirdi Sai Baba was indeed a unique saint.
The Galaxy of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba s Contemporary Saints
There were 54 or 56 saints who were the contemporaries of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba and were in
contact with Him in some way or the other and about whom Ihave been able to discover some
valuable information from Sai Literature and other spiritual literature of his times.

Parallels In Our World and the World of The Giver
The story in The Giver by Lois Lowry takes place in a community that is not normal. People
cannot see color, it is an offense for somebody to touch others, and the community assigns people
jobs and children. This unnamed community shown through Jonas eye, the main character in this
novel, is a perfect society. There is no war, crime, and hunger. Most readers might take it for
granted that the community in The Giver differs from the real society. However, there are several
affinities between the society in present day and that in this fiction: estrangement of elderly people,
suffering of surrogate mothers, and wanting of euthanasia.
The first similarity is that elderly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That job has very little honor in this community. Three years, Three births and that s all. After
that they are Laborers for the rest of their adult lives, until the day that they enter the House of
the Old... The Birthmothers never even get to see new children (p. 22). Today, some women
decide to become surrogate mothers of other women s babies because of several reasons, such as
sympathy for the couples who cannot have children of their own or financial reason. However, to
carry other women s children gives surrogate moms great senses of responsibility. They writhe in
not only soreness of body, but also agony of mentality. The psychological pain by giving their
babies to other women is greater than that of body. Thus, some surrogate mothers refuse to give up
their babies sometimes.
The third similarity is that some people want to embrace euthanasia in any society. Here is the
release in the community. The release is not a natural death, but the end of life by human being.
Nevertheless, some people want to be released from the community. He made a lovely good bye

through the special door in the Releasing Room. But you should have seen his look. Pure
happiness, I d call it (p. 32). Roberto does not fear his release, but waits for it. Of course, some
people might say that he probably does not know actual release. He obviously knows the

A Feather Dipped in Gold in Movie Miracle
A Feather Dipped In Gold
On February 22, 1980, the United States men s national hockey team beat the Soviet Union
National team at the Winter Olympics taking place at Lake Placid, New York. To this day, that
upset is considered by many to be the greatest moment in sports history. It was such an awe
inspiring moment, that it earned the nickname, The Miracle On Ice . As such, it should be no
surprise that a movie portraying that miracle was made. The movie, aptly called Miracle, chronicles
the assembly of the team as seen fit by Coach Herb Brooks, and the trials and glory of the young
team. It really is a one of the great underdog stories, a story about coming together and reaching
for the stars or gold in this case. The movie is also a great depiction of relationships. From initiating
to maintaining them, this movie covers it. In this essay, I will detail three different types of
relationships that were presented in Miracle.
The friendship between the guys on Team U.S.A. took a while to cultivate. The players were
fresh out of college which meant most of them had either played together or against each other.
What should have been forgotten collegiate rivalries were not. The poster boys for the continued
hostilities were Jack O Callahan of Boston College and Rob McClanahan of the University of
Minnesota. Jack O Callahan was still holding a grudge over a Championship game in college that
had been played against Rob McClanahan s team. That led to a somewhat

Poverty In Ayesha Says, By William Jaco
It s no secret that poverty affects minorities not only here in America but abroad as well. Our
inner cities see the blunt of legal system; with African American males incarcerated at a rate of
4,347 per 100,000 as of 2010(Shaefer Wu Edin 89) . Ayesha Jaco, sister to rapper Lupe fiasco,
wrote the spoken word poem Ayesha Says to shed light on injustices of a system that
overwhelmingly affects minorities. Ayesha s poem directly addresses issues that have been not
only plaguing the black community, but also compares the povertywe see here with the poverty we
seen in conflict ridden countries. Things like police brutality and the school to prison pipeline
leading to mass incarcerations of minorities overall, poverty and how it systematically affects
minorities, and how people of all races and creeds are coming together to fight these injustices. She
reflects on how these things impact communities and force a season of change among the people
afflicted.
Ayesha s starting lines Englewood or Egypt, Bedstuy or Baghdad...the west bank or the westside
of Chicago(Ayesha) , alludes to comparisons between impoverished nations overseas to
impoverished areas of our country that generally occupied by minorities. This gets the ball rolling
on the crux of problems that people in the ghetto face, poverty being one of them. One of these
results of poverty that Ayesha mentions are that of food deserts. Wright defines Food Deserts , low
income communities with a poverty rate of 20% or

Three Diagnostic Procedure Analysis
Three diagnostic procedures for conditions of the eye
1.Corneal transplant is a surgical procedure where some part of the patient s cornea (layer that
covers the coloring part of the eye) will be removed and replaced with a donor. This type of
procedure is used if the cornea been damaged either from injury or infections. The patient will be
under a local anesthesia (numbness of the eye) and medication to help the patient to relax. The
surgeon will be using a special instrument to remove the damaged cornea and replaces it with the
new cornea. The surgeon will use a special thread to connect the new cornea. After the surgery is
completed the patient will be taking medication to help control pain and to prevent infection.

Enjoy.
Wonderful. She d brought Sarah to help her, not... frolic her time away with John. She picked up

Sarah rolled over and looked at John. She s a virgin.
That I gathered. An endangered species here in New York. What is she, thirty? John snickered.
Prude.

She s dating your brother? John asked. Mmm, he rubbed her leg, making his way up her thigh. I

I must try harder. I have to keep him interested.
Oh, man, I forgot the beer. Keep that thought will ya? John asked as he jumped up and left the room.

The Deployment Of Cloud Technology
Deployment of cloud technology is becoming ever more dependent on corporations to
implement in order to remain competitive in this internet age driven business world. Numerous
factors must be taken into consideration to make an informed decision on whether or not cloud
deployment is the optimal choice. Every new technology pose significant and unforeseen risks
and is my responsibility to evaluate the cost risk assessment as the CISO of www.imagine if
you.org and provide my results to my management as requested. Good afternoon boss. I m glad
you came to me before moving ahead with a final decision. Implementing the deployment of
cloud technology within our organization provides a lot of advantages, however, at the same
time, it also greatly increases cybersecurity risks that should be carefully considered before an
educated and ethical decision can be reached. Security is the number one concern and priority
when migrating to a cloud environment. First order of business is who or how we are going to
house it. Choosing a hosting vendor is a crucial decision that, if chosen incorrectly, could make our
data easily comprisable on an unsecured cloud. Exposure of this critical data compromises the
entire intent resulting in a useless waste of time, resources, and money at a minimum. To ensure the
vendors are qualified, in my professional opinion, these questions must all be true. Does the vendor

How an OEMS helps Buy Side firms move beyond the three quotes framework
Jay Zhu
Financial institutions are acting as fiduciaries to their investors and clients. In the execution
process, buy side traders need to demonstrate reasonable steps to determine a best execution
condition, follow their defined firm level best execution trading policy and perform fair dealing to
all client accounts on trades. Broker dealers are obligated to provide best execution opportunities to
buy side clients as well. In the US market, both SEC and FINRA have articulated the responsibility
of broker dealers to provide best executions that are reasonably available. According to CFA
institute s trade management guidelines, best execution is defined as the trading process firms
apply that seeks to maximize the value of a client s portfolio within the client s stated investment
objectives and constraints .
In the recent development of the EU s MiFID II regulation, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
set out additional guidelines on best execution, in its Conduct of Business Sourcebook (COBS 11).
Trading venues, System Internalisers, and liquidity providers are required to publish data relating
to execution quality free of cost. Firms have to publish their top five execution venues annually, and
demonstrate they have complied with the execution policies of both their clients and relevant
regulatory authorities, according to ESMA regulatory technical standards (RTS). It asks firms to take

Free College Should Not Be Free
When a child turns 5, they are required to start going to school until they turn 18, which is when
they graduate high school. From the point of graduating high school, there is a pressure on
students to go to college and get a degree. This is relevant today because most graduates from high
school go to straight collegeto get the career they strive for. Colleges should be free because it
causes more focus on education, most careers require a college degree and provide new
opportunities for children.
College should not be free all because taxes would go through the roof and would create a
vicious cycle of fighting for careers between people. With making college free for everyone, ...
taxes will go up and all property owners whether they have college age children or not will, in
fact, pay for the free college (Norton). There s no way America could survive with taxes going
higher. With taxes going up, once you get out of college and find a job you start paying free
college taxes even though you already finished college. Other problem with college being free,
there will be people getting the same degree as each other, which would lead to them to fighting
for the same career. This can lead to many people being out of a career and create an outspread of
people going back to college to study a different major to start a different career path, but this
creates a cycle. But with that being said free college provides great opportunities for children to get
the education they

Islamic Women In America Brooks Summary
There are many political, religious, and cultural factors that shape the lives of Islamic women
many of them are completely different than factors in the lives of American women. Islam is one
of the world s fastest growing religions; however, Brooks argues that Islam s holiest texts have
been misused to justify the repression of women, and how male pride and power have warped the
original message of this once liberating faith. The book also shows these factors have slowly been
taking away women s rights, rather than furthering them.
The specific topic of this book is the oppression of women. Its overall purpose is to understand the
women behind the veils and why the Muslim women take up the hijab. The purpose is also to show

The major primary source she uses is the Koran that was transmitted by God through the prophet
Muhammad. Brooks also uses the story of Khomeini and the story of the queen as biographical and
historical accounts. An important biographical account is the one about Faezeh Hashemi and what
she did for the women s Olympics and sporting events.
Brooks uses the sources to bring the thesis together and to help get her point across about the
oppression of Islamic women and the pride and power of their male figures. An Islamic law states
that women are not to commit adultery, but their husband can have more than one wife. When
Brooks learned the story of Rehab and Mohamed and how Mohamed left Rehab for Fatima, it
really opened her eyes on how different the treatment of married women of the Islamic world.
She also learned how a woman was confined to the house unless escorted by a male figure, but a
man could go about what he does every day. As Brooks was trying to check into the hotel, the
clerk said she couldn t because she was not with a male figure and so she was kicked out of the
hotel. Brooks tone was different at many points in the book. When she found out that she saw
how the women had to be covered up all of the time, I could sense a little rage in her voice. When
she was listening to the story of Rehab and Mohamed she had a

3. Would you choose to centralize the recruitmentfunction? Why or why not?
Yes I would recommend centralization of recruitment function among different units because of
following advantages:
a) Uniform record keeping systems
b) Better internal mobility for employees
c) Job rotation of employees enhances their skills
d) Cost of recruitment is reduced due to combining of requirements and increased efficiency, such
as software and administration cost
e) Uniform corporate identity among employees and public
f) Easier for candidates as they have to apply through one window and also attend interview only

uniform based on common recruitment function.
4. If you recommend a centralized recruiting office, what services would it provide?
a) Receive labour recruitments with specifications from various units.
b) Maintain common database of potential candidates.

Definition Essay On What Makes A Hunter
What Makes a Hunter? The google definition of a hunter is, a person that hunts. Although, there is
more to it than that. There are specific things that define a hunter. Throughout this essay, I wish to
explain what makes a hunter, as far as defining characteristics one must obtain, such as patience,
having that killer drive, skills, and being knowledgeable.
Hunters have to have patience. You have to be able to wait for the animal that you are hunting. It s
not always going to be fast pace. Animals can be very unpredictable. There are times where the
conditions will be in your favor, but things don t go as planned. It can be pretty upsetting at times,
but a true hunter knows, good things come to those who wait.
Having the drive to succeed is another thing that a hunter has. They keep going and persevere
through hard obstacles. When the going gets tough, keep on trudging. Part of having that drive,
is being fearless. There can be many dangers while hunting. An example of some dangers are
predators, such as wolves and bears. During this 2015 deer hunting season, I saw an extraordinary
pack of wolves. I was sitting in my stand around 8 o clock or so and saw some movement off to my
left. Bringing my scope up, I looked through it hoping to see a deer. It was not however. I saw a

Having knowledge of animals is key. There are many different species of animals that are available
to hunt. A hunter has knowledge of the species that he/she hunts. You ve also got to know the laws

hunter. There are things in nature that animals look for such as nuts and berries. Therefore knowing
where those things are, can help a hunter when it comes time for the actual hunt. You have to know
how weather can affect movement of animals as well. Hunters know what kind of equipment to use

Top off the water level so that it can be drawn in through the skimmers. Next, turn on the pump
and check that the filter, skimmers, and drains are all working. Do not be too concerned if the
water from the circulation is discolored initially. Run the filter for several hours and vacuum out
any remaining debris as necessary. Backwash the filter and top up with fresh water.
Next, you are ready to add the chemicals. Check the ph level and get it as near as possible to 7.4.

Now that the warm weather has passed, it is time to winterize your pool. First, thoroughly
backwash the filter and clean the strainer. Check the ph level and get it as close to 7.4 as possible.

Now lower the water level so that it is below the skimmers. This allows pressure to be

They mostly focused on grammar and basic math; this was actually based on concepts of

was also the concern of children forced into the workforce too early in the factories.
However, the educational system has changed to make it harder to receive an education almost
as much as it has changed to make an education more accessible. Recent skyrockets in tuition
have made paying for college a challenge. Even families in the middle class with six digit
incomes find it nearly impossible to pay for four years of college (What s the Price Tag). This
problem is compounded when families expect multiple children to attend college. America s
school system, especially at the tertiary level, needs to be improved in order for students to
receive the education they deserve for the tuition they pay. Education is not the only thing that is
changing; the job market is also undergoing major changes. Jobs in today s world are requiring a

Diverse Personal Encounters With Non State Armed Actors
Diverse personal encounters with non state armed actors animate my research agenda, and I
seek to discern the meaning of a picture formed by pieces of a puzzle collected during my years
of military service. As a peacekeeper in Kosovo, I witnessed how a random rifle shot could
spark a series of reprisals across invisible lines that separated villages. My soldiers and I were
almost powerless to stop them. On one hand, our legal mandate prevented our ability to take
direct action. One the other, we understood so little about our adversaries we did not fully know
which action to take. Subsequent experiences leading soldiers during counterinsurgency efforts in
both Iraq and Afghanistan immersed me again in the turmoil created by overlapping networks of
non state armed groups competing for economic, social, and political power. Each incident
revealed another piece of the puzzle, but the picture it formed remained unclear. I started to
wonder if the pieces actually fit, or if I was putting them together incorrectly. I intuitively sensed
the ascendant role of non state armed actors in Kosovo. However, my experiences in Iraq and
Afghanistan crystalized in me the desire to explore the broader political and social ramifications of
the rising influence of non state armed groups. I began to ponder the strategic impact of their
decisions and actions on the long term evolution of political institutions. What are the consequences

Fallacies In The Logical Structure Of The Argument
What is logic? What is a fallacy? Well both, logic and fallacy almost mean the same thing or even
relate to one another. According to quora.com, a fallacy is a pattern of reasoning that is always
wrong. This is due to a flaw in the logical structure of the argument which renders the argument
invalid. However, there are many fallacies out there but the three main ones. First, there is appeal to
authority, Second, there is begging the question. Third, there is attacking the person. It is important
for a student to understand fallacies as well as logicand how they relate to each other.
To begin with, the first main fallacy is when the writer is appealing to authority. According to

According to www.logicallyfallacious.com, the definition of attacking the person is when Attacking
the person making the argument, rather than the argument itself, when the attack on the person is

person talking is being attacked personally is attacked by thing that do not relate to the subject

Mcdonald s Liability
Essentially, Ritenbaugh expressed that God s word shows that He holds people accountable for
liability when people have careless disregard towards other people.
Conclusions
The case of Liebeck v. McDonald s clearly illustrates that companies must be mindful of not
harming consumers through defective provides, because consumers that are harmed by products,
have the ability to successfully win awards to be compensated for damages. With that in mind, it is
recommended that Divine Coffee Shops reduce coffee temperatures. According to the Burn
Foundation (2016), to eliminate the risk of burns, hot liquids should not be served beyond 160
degrees. The full article published by the Burn Foundation can be found here: http:/
/www.burnfoundation.org/programs/resource.cfm?c=1 a=3. To ensure that our customers are
protected, we must implement a policy of checking the temperature of the coffee, before serving
customers. The case of Liebeck v. McDonald s was been repeatedly cited as an example of
frivolous litigation in the United States. However, to Stella Liebeck, the lawsuit was not frivolous.

How Manh s Influence On The Classroom
In this extract, we can see that Manh has attempted to encourage the students to volunteer to
share their story after 10 minutes of discussion. However the way Manh frames his turn can hint
at the unequal identities of speakers in this context. The teacher s power exertion seems apparent
as there is a sequence of Wh question who used in the turn. Moreover the use of direct object me
(line 34 36) is interesting as it signifies the dominance of teacher s agency. Instead of choosing
more collective direct objects such as tell us or tell the whole class , the use of tell me can make
the classroom discussion become merely the conversation between the teacher and the selected
student. This can potentially create a nervous environment for the students. It is noted that although
the teacher has initiated many questions, there are no answers from the students. There are also
2.5s and 4s gaps in line 36 which shows the student s unwillingness to take part. The student s
unwillingness has led to Manh s power exertion, which is clearly seen in line 37. Using the first
condition in addition with personal pronoun I suggesting agency, Manh puts emphasis on the
possible consequence of being selected by the teacher if the students do not voluntarily take part in
the speaking activity. This is not interpreted as a threat but rather a reminding of what Manh is
capable of doing as a teacher, which can be linked to the teacher s identity as someone powerful
who can nominate next

Middle Childhood Attachment
The enduring impact of early security of attachment has later challenges of adaptation and

early attachment insecurity were more prone to symptoms of aggression, depression and general

Deloitte s Diagnosis Of Sks
Deloitte s Diagnosis of SKS: During the planning meeting, the Deloitte Consulting Group correctly
identified some of the key issues hindering SKS Manufacturing s performance. For starters, we
believe that Wattley Davis correctly recommended a multi pronged approach to fix the SKS short
term business and manufacturing problems. Like Deloitte, our team also identified problems with
the firm s cost structure and inventory levels that could be alleviated by synchronizing the
production and procurement processes. The Consulting Group structured goals to develop
scheduling rules, relieve severe bottlenecks, and reduce the need for buffer inventory. Also, the
Deloitte Touche team s goal to design and implement a pull based synchronous manufacturing,
originally a 12 week plan, can and will definitely help SKS integrate and increase efficiency across
all business departments. However, with only six weeks remaining in the engagement period,
efforts must now be focused on resolving the firm s shortage of cash flows and high inventory
levels. Key Issues SKS Manufacturing Faces: (1) A Cash flow shortage (2) Poor business
integration across the firm s departments (3) The Production and Procurement processes affecting
on time delivery Problem Summary: Due to a lack of internal integration and effective control
systems to oversee procurement and production, SKS Manufacturing has seen higher inventory

The Causes of Poverty in the Developing World Essay
The Causes of Poverty in the Developing World
Many LDCВЎВ¦s have been badly affected by wars. There have been many civil wars in Africa,
caused by European empire building in the nineteenth century. Several African races were joined
into one country, but half a race was left in another country. These countries were still artificial
countries after they achieved independence. One race was often badly treated by the ruling race,
which resulted in civil war. This also happened in Europe since the various parts of Yugoslavia
were given independence. LDCВЎВ¦s also suffer from wars between different countries, such as:
Ethiopia and Somalia, Afghanistan and Russia. There are wars caused by corruption and political
differences too, for example: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These natural disasters are earthquakes, floods, droughts and volcanic eruptions. Thousands of
homes and acres of precious farmland can be destroyed by an earthquake or a flood. If there is no
rain, the crops will not grow unless the farmers have the wealth to sink wells, install pumps and
organise an irrigation system.
Debt
Most LDCВЎВ¦s are forced to borrow money from the banks of developed countries to survive
and begin to develop. These banks charge interest, so that a less developed country has to pay more
in interest than it earns in foreign currency. In the early 70ВЎВ¦s, Chile borrowed 3.9 billion
dollars. By 1982, Chile had paid 12.8 billion dollars in interest and still owed money.
The extra 9 billion dollars should have been used to speed up ChileВЎВ¦s development, but instead
it went to countries that are already rich.
Cash crops
The only way for many LDCВЎВ¦s to make enough money for their debts is to grow cash crops.
Cash crops are grown to be sold rather than consumption. Cotton, Coffee, tea and tobacco are
grown to sell to the developed world. Many people in LDCВЎВ¦s are starving because land is used
to grown cash crops instead of food.
World poverty concerns us all as we depend on each other. For example, if we want the Sudanese
to grow cotton for our clothes, we must make sure they have enough food to survive on.

The Film I Will Be Evaluating A Sprawling Two Part Sex...
The film I will be evaluating is Nymphomaniac a sprawling two part sex drama that blurs the line
between art and porn. It follows a sex addict named Joe as she s found battered in an alleyway by
an older bachelor named Seligman. In explaining how she came to be in such a condition,
flashback scenes unfold in chapters introduced by snapping witty dialogue between Joe and
Seligman. It begins with Joe throughout her teenage years, when she first begins to discover her
insatiable sexual appetite. Then through her adult life as she is pushed out of normal society. The
film whips through a wide range of topics, such as genderrole conformity, consent, and, metal
dysfunction.
To begin with Joe is a self described nymphomaniac, which is a former term for excessive sexual
desire in a woman, which may lead to promiscuous sexual behavior. Most psychologists have

much larger problem. I like the title and think it was a fascinating and intentional plot related
choice by Von trier, for this reason that Joe does display other issues like low self esteem,
loneliness, and, attachment avoidance. I like the title it made me think about how we use words.
Furthermore, this movie is touted as a pro feminist love

Senate Meetings Between The Republican And Democrat Party...
While watching the committee meetings between the Republican and Democrat party
committee I noticed many things that were the same while also observing many things that
were different. Every four years, the Democratic Party puts together our party platform, the
ideas and beliefs that govern our party as a whole. Not only does each party take certain stances
on specific issues , they also have a different guidelines and atmospheres surrounding them that
affects their decisions. Republicans are normally more conservative, their primary focus is
directed more towards a limited influence on government and a dominant foreign policy. They
are also for religion, anti beauracracy , and pro military. As to where Democrats are considered
to be more liberal and adhere to more improving the quality of people lives to achieve equality.
Although there were a handful of things to pick from that were different with each party they
were similar in how they incorporated their policy s and laws. They both voted by raise of hands
and saying yay or neigh to the topic. The first committee video I decided to watch was the
Republican committee, which was a short video compared to democratic video. During the video
they spoke about the first amendment, and asked delegate Wilson to present his ideas. they

The Italian Mafia In The 1920 s
The promise of work and land inspired the immigration of the early 1900 s. The increased
immigration of Europeans greatly shaped the American public. Newcomers settled together,
creating distinct racial neighborhoods across the nation. Many of these culturally defined
neighborhoods can be seen in New York. Millions of Italian immigrants came to America during
this surge of migration, many settling in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, appropriately
known as Little Italy (Bryan Web). The immigrants were not well received. They were viewed
as scum filling the ghettos, affecting the job market, and threatening the American way of life.
Their poor reputations were also fueled by the crime that had traveled with them. Aside from the
rich culture and tradition, that had developed within the streets of Manhattan s Little Italy, the
Italian American Mafia was formed. The Sicilian Mafiosi escaped to the US after being attacked
by the fascist regime, bringing with them mob culture (History Wed). The Italian Mafia is a
secret society affiliated with organized crime and family ties. In the 1920 s The American Mafia,

Negligence And The Negligence Tort Essay
Introduction
Negligence is conduct causing damage to another, in breach of the defendant s duty of care owed
to the other (pg 425 Terry and Giugni (8.10).) This definition states the defendant is responsible
towards the plaintiff, if a breach of recognized standard of duty is not adhered to and the plaintiff
suffers an injury as a result. A liability may incur if the resulting injury could have been prevented
or foreseen. The defendants and plaintiffs both have their opinions and views towards the negligence
tort, and it will be looked into further detail in the Jack and Thea Holiday Tour case.
In order to completely understand the liability in negligence, there must be reasonable
foreseeability present which includes three main elements of negligence They are Duty of Care,
Breach of Duty and Remoteness of Damage (pg436 437 (8.220) Terry and Giugni) In addition the
plaintiff must also satisfy the four traditional elements of negligence in order to have a claim; (pg
431 (8.140) Terry and Giugni)
Part A
Duty of care
In the tort of negligence it is important to recall the 1932 House of Lords case, Donoghue v
Stevenson AC 562 (pg. 435 (8.200) Terry and Giugni). The case outlined that duty of care must be
shown towards the other, as if the other does not anticipate the risk, they would potentially suffer
injury or death. According to the law, Priscilla Tours is liable for any maltreatment caused by their
tours towards its customers, hence why Jack and Thea have the

The large male panda s can get up to 250 pounds, and be 2 feet long. The male panda s are indeed
larger than the females. These bears can live up to 20 years in the wild. Even though, there are
environmental conflicts that are reducing their lifespan.
Reasons for the Decline of the Panda Bear
Unfortunately, for the panda bear they are on a endangered list. There are several reasons that it
is difficult for the survival of these bears. The females can ovulate during the Spring time, which
becomes a very small window for growth. They are literally only able to ovulate 2 3 days a year.
That s right. So, this is already a challenge for them. Plus, the female panda can only give birth to 2
and 1 usually dies.
They are approximately 1,600 panda bears that live in the wild all over the world. However, there
are more panda s in China than anywhere else. With this being said, and China s continual growth,
this, causes destruction to the panda s habitat. China uses bamboo for construction and therefore,
removes the main source of food for the panda bear.

Relationship Between Mesopotamian And Greek Gods
Throughout their histories, religion has played a central role in Mesopotamian and Greek culture.
Both peoples built mighty temples and made countless sacrifices in the name of their gods, but the
exact nature of their relationships with their gods remains a mystery. Historians are left to guess at
their customs and traditions from the works they left behind such as Homer s epic poem The Illiad
and the anonymous epic poem the Epic of Gilgamesh. From these texts, it becomes apparent that
the Mesopotamians relationship with their gods was one founded on a sense of respect while the
Greeks was one rooted in fear. Correspondingly, the Mesopotamian gods are more restrained and
nurturing in their interactions with humans while the Greek gods are brash and patronizing, though
neither set of gods is greatly concerned with the wellbeing of mortals. In both cultures, humans and
gods share an undeniable connection in their range and expression of emotion. As such, though
Mesopotamians and Greeks take different approaches to interaction with their gods and vice versa,
the relationship between humans and gods is fundamentally the same in both cultures.
From the human perspective, the Mesopotamians and Greeks share a strong sense of reverence for
their gods. They make regular sacrifices and hold their gods in the highest esteem, but these
sentiments come from different places. The Greeks act primarily out of fear while the
Mesopotamians act more out of a notion of respect. In

Why Salary Caps Are Truly Unfair
The debates have gone on every sense the very first year free agency was introduced. I think
after all this paper is done I truly believe that I will be able to show you evidence on why salary
caps are truly unfair. So let s have some facts that prove my theory with facts from their lives.
Most coaches can look at talent and see potential at such a young age. When coaches see this
they push Athletes to the next level making them ready for the college. That s why you see kids
pushing themselves so hard in the gym, they think they can make it to the league. Look at it this
way, in all sports except baseball, the chances of going pro are less than 2%. So why pay these
guys what they worked their whole entire life for get paid, they honestly deserve it. Let s look at
it this way, Professional athletes have worked their entire life for everything they now have.
Salary caps are not a problem in sports, this has been a very heated debate throughout every year
in sports. There s new free agents every single year, with some of the potential who deserve
more than 300 million dollars over the next 10 years. Then there s some who don t even come
close to making 1 million on a one year deal. Many people sit here and could fire rapid shots on
why salary caps should be established in sports. While others believe that this could stop some
people of what they should be making. Thats besides the point, I 100% believe that salary caps
should be abolished in pro sports. I have some great

Superfreakonomics Essay
As much as I hate reading, because that is all I seem to do at work, surprisingly I enjoyed
reading Superfreakonomics. The book gives you many scenarios on everyday life situations in
which economics is used for example prostitution, cable tv causing more crime, and etc. Levitt
and Dubner are brilliant authors, who wrote a book about some of the most controversial topics
tying it all into economics. How brilliant is that? Economics is one of those topics that many
either love or hate discussing. In the introduction of the book the authors discuss the statistics of
walking drunk vs driving proving with statistical data that pedestrians are more like to be killed
walking drunk and drivers who driver drunk. This was a bit shocking to me due to my own

However, once cable was introduced to those countries like India researchers saw a decrease in
rates of gender selection abortions and an increase women being treated more equally by their
husbands. Seemingly, cable had a positive effect on 3rd world countries such as India but today
things seem to be the reverse. Cable television has more of a negative effect on children and
teenagers with all of the violence and negativity that is seen on tv today. I believe that this is the
case because cable tv programs and video games such as grand theft auto and others place a
perception on children and young adults that creating crimes is okay and easy to get out of,
which is true for the virtual world but not the same for the real world. My question to the creators
is if research show that crimes are more likely to occur by children or teens who watch and or play
violent/crime seeking video games, why isn t there are change to the content? I am sure I can

Readers are able to assemble relations between previous novels they have encountered to help
better understand a character and how their actions, thoughts and behaviors piece together who
they mimicking or who they are by utilizing memories, symbols and patterns in literature.
Specifically, patterns help simplify complex readings by gaining the ability to tie together
certain possibilities and figure out how each detail leads to an outcome a reader has seen before.
This familiarity allows for a more intricate thought process so we are able to pace ourselves with

operations as an entirely separate entity, called the Swallow Coachbuilding Company, in 1935. With
the administrative duties out of the way, and a reorganization of the company complete, Lyons
turned his attention to advertising. He wanted a brand new name for his cars that would capture the
imagination of the motoring enthusiast. The Nelson advertising agency, hired by Lyons to create a
new image for his automobiles, selected the name Jaguar.
The first SS Jaguar 100 was introduced in 1935 and, as the company dropped the SS1 and SS2
product lines, sales for its new unit increased dramatically. The firm s first all steel car was brought
out in 1937. It featured a broader body, overhead valves, and a choice of 3.5, 2.7, or 1.8 litre

A Christmas Carol Character Analysis
You can tell that Scrooge is the main character in the story A Christmas Carol . Scrooge may as
well be known as an astringent aged man that is unfair, plaintive unlikable, unsavory, nihilist well as
very rude. Moreover, Scrooge gainsaid anything that deals with happiness, generosity, up most of
all, Christmas. Everyone in the story seemed to be apprehensive of Scrooge. Consequently, his dead
business partner s ghostcomes and warns him that three different ghosts will try to help him
recover his past and peaceful self. . Scrooge s experience felt fancied. On page one of the first
passage it says Scrooge is the grumpiest grump that ever walked on planet earth. In the text, it
said Scrooge makes him leave (his nephew) but not before he insults his marriage because it is
based on love. I know that is a very excellent reason to back up that he is a very mean and rude
man. Another example from the text says A couple of guys came up asking for donations for
the poor, Scrooge tells them to stuff it. Another fine example of how much he hates Christmas is
Scrooge says it is the one time of year when the clerk is allowed to rob him. It also says, If
someone comes by to carol Scrooge almost hits him in the head with a ruler. I could drive on but
that would be boring... In the second stave, the first of the three spirits, The Ghost Of Christmas
Past comes to try to help Scrooge redeem himself. This spiritwas very laid back and kind of pushy. I

  • 2. Caesar Augustus Personality Sarah James Instructor Geoffrey Hutcheson History of Western Society I November 26, 2017 Caesar Augustus History is made up of individuals who were just living the life they wanted to live. Their actions ended up making an impact on our world as we know it. At the time they probably had no clue that the actions they put forth in their time would eventually lead up to the world we know today. Their life events may not have been grand, but they were enough to make an impact. Caesar Augustus is one example of a person in history who led a successful life. Born Gaius Octavius on September 23, 63 B.C., in Velletri, Italy. Augustus was a sickly child with few connections. Although, one connection he did have was being the great nephew of Julius Caesar . Augustus was known by three different names throughout his life. From birth to 44 B.C. he was known as Octavius, in 44 B.C. he was adopted and changed his name to Octavian and in 26 B.C. he was named Augustus by the Roman Senate. His father worked as a senator and governor of the Roman Republic, and passed away when Augustus was four years old; Caesar s niece Atai was his mother. In his younger years, his grandmother Julia Ceasaris helped raise him; she was the sister of Julius Caesar. Augustus took on the Roman sign of manhood of wearing the toga at age 16, and began taking on responsibilities through his family connections. At the time Rome was dangerous and engulfed in a civil war, one faction of the war was led by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Many Languages of Australia and New Zealand As of 2013, there are many languages spoken both in Australia and New Zealand. Having a history dating as far as the 18th century, both countries constitute the Austral realm. Within its many aspects, one of the most notorious is its language. Known by the humorous effect some of its sentences and words provoke in people, the languageof the Austral realm has helped shape the identity of Australia as well as New Zealandand has become an essential spectrum of their culture. In spite of its variations and the reasons behind its current status, this research paper will be focusing upon the four main languages of the Austral realm: English, New Zealand s and Australia s sign language, Australian Indigenous language and the Maori language in New Zealand. Each language has impacted the Austral realm in its own way and will be viewed both individually and in comparison within the realm s two states. English s history, what constitutes the signs in New Zealand s sign language, Australian accent... all of them are part of a culture both beautiful and unique and should, therefore, be treated with the same care as one would treat any relic. The Austral realm s languages are viewed by its people as more than only an idiom. Its evolution throughout decades of history has transformed both Australia and New Zealand into a unique society, filled with a mixture of words and idioms such as go for a burn and dog s breakfast, both of which exemplifies some of the reasons of the worldwide ... • 4. How Did The Bubonic Plague Impact The Byzantine Empire The Byzantine Empire can be brought back all the way to 330 AD. It was created by Constantine I, he wanted to have Constantinople stand as the new Roman capital. The Byzantine Empire lasted until 1453. This is increasingly impressive since it suffered through a strand of the Bubonic Plague. This plague took the name of the Justinian Plague, named after the ruler Justinian the First (527 565 CE) who was in reign during the first outbreak (History). Procopius, the historian of the Byzantine Empireduring this time, said in his book that nearly 25% of the population had died from the disease (Ancient History Encyclopedia). The plague impacted the Byzantine Empire, during the 225 years that it was around, economically, and politically. The plague ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Simon Monologue Stockton Street ran straight through the middle of Chinatown. The smoking sewers billowed up like the buildings surrounding. On this crisp, cold San Fran morning, Simon wheeled his mother through the maze of their small apartment. Stacks of wooden chairs, china sets, hatboxes, and lanterns towered and leaned above. Simon rolled his mom to the small window to watch and preoccupy her with the passing pedestrians. In this cluttered small, apartment above their shop is where she spent most of her days, alone. Simon plodded down the creaking steps of their apartment, descending into the eclectic antique shop where he busied himself with the tasks (and his recent takes) of the day. Simon shifted about the shop, murmuring to himself as he continuously ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Simon s soul was still with the small woman trapped in a maze of smoke and mirrors. The floorboards creaked in response as Simons mother wheeled back and forth, from the window and back to the head of the stairs. Her sad eyes glinted in the dusky light. She hadn t eaten all day and had to use the bathroom, but where was Simon? Simon s soul felt heavy, and wet like he was wearing wool and decided to go for a swim. The darkness pushed in on him. Shapes appeared, forming larger than life images of the things he had stolen. The next day a small Asian woman came into Simon and his mother s house. She made breakfast and woke the mother and explained, Simon sent me. We had a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Roles Of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba In The 19th Century When Sri Shirdi Sai Baba incarnated as Avatar, whole galaxy of saints also had to take birth and function as saints, as spiritualcollaborators or adjuncts of Sri Sai Baba in the divine drama during the later half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.Naturally our curiosity is awakened at this point. Sri Shirdi Sai Baba wasone of the Five Perfect Masters: who then were the other Four Perfect Masters?Aiyer has not given answer to it directly, but in his book Perfect Masters he gaveprofiles of Upasani Baba, Tajuddin Baba, Baba Jan, Narsing Maharaj and Meher Bababesides Sri Shirdi Sai Baba. • 7. Essay about Comparing In Our World and the World of The... Parallels In Our World and the World of The Giver The story in The Giver by Lois Lowry takes place in a community that is not normal. People cannot see color, it is an offense for somebody to touch others, and the community assigns people jobs and children. This unnamed community shown through Jonas eye, the main character in this novel, is a perfect society. There is no war, crime, and hunger. Most readers might take it for granted that the community in The Giver differs from the real society. However, there are several affinities between the society in present day and that in this fiction: estrangement of elderly people, suffering of surrogate mothers, and wanting of euthanasia. The first similarity is that elderly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That job has very little honor in this community. Three years, Three births and that s all. After that they are Laborers for the rest of their adult lives, until the day that they enter the House of the Old... The Birthmothers never even get to see new children (p. 22). Today, some women decide to become surrogate mothers of other women s babies because of several reasons, such as sympathy for the couples who cannot have children of their own or financial reason. However, to carry other women s children gives surrogate moms great senses of responsibility. They writhe in not only soreness of body, but also agony of mentality. The psychological pain by giving their babies to other women is greater than that of body. Thus, some surrogate mothers refuse to give up their babies sometimes. The third similarity is that some people want to embrace euthanasia in any society. Here is the release in the community. The release is not a natural death, but the end of life by human being. Nevertheless, some people want to be released from the community. He made a lovely good bye speech... He was thrilled. • 8. A Feather Dipped in Gold in Movie Miracle A Feather Dipped In Gold On February 22, 1980, the United States men s national hockey team beat the Soviet Union National team at the Winter Olympics taking place at Lake Placid, New York. To this day, that upset is considered by many to be the greatest moment in sports history. It was such an awe inspiring moment, that it earned the nickname, The Miracle On Ice . As such, it should be no surprise that a movie portraying that miracle was made. The movie, aptly called Miracle, chronicles the assembly of the team as seen fit by Coach Herb Brooks, and the trials and glory of the young team. It really is a one of the great underdog stories, a story about coming together and reaching for the stars or gold in this case. The movie is also a great depiction of relationships. From initiating to maintaining them, this movie covers it. In this essay, I will detail three different types of relationships that were presented in Miracle. The friendship between the guys on Team U.S.A. took a while to cultivate. The players were fresh out of college which meant most of them had either played together or against each other. What should have been forgotten collegiate rivalries were not. The poster boys for the continued hostilities were Jack O Callahan of Boston College and Rob McClanahan of the University of Minnesota. Jack O Callahan was still holding a grudge over a Championship game in college that had been played against Rob McClanahan s team. That led to a somewhat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Poverty In Ayesha Says, By William Jaco It s no secret that poverty affects minorities not only here in America but abroad as well. Our inner cities see the blunt of legal system; with African American males incarcerated at a rate of 4,347 per 100,000 as of 2010(Shaefer Wu Edin 89) . Ayesha Jaco, sister to rapper Lupe fiasco, wrote the spoken word poem Ayesha Says to shed light on injustices of a system that overwhelmingly affects minorities. Ayesha s poem directly addresses issues that have been not only plaguing the black community, but also compares the povertywe see here with the poverty we seen in conflict ridden countries. Things like police brutality and the school to prison pipeline leading to mass incarcerations of minorities overall, poverty and how it systematically affects minorities, and how people of all races and creeds are coming together to fight these injustices. She reflects on how these things impact communities and force a season of change among the people afflicted. Ayesha s starting lines Englewood or Egypt, Bedstuy or Baghdad...the west bank or the westside of Chicago(Ayesha) , alludes to comparisons between impoverished nations overseas to impoverished areas of our country that generally occupied by minorities. This gets the ball rolling on the crux of problems that people in the ghetto face, poverty being one of them. One of these results of poverty that Ayesha mentions are that of food deserts. Wright defines Food Deserts , low income communities with a poverty rate of 20% or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Implementing the deployment of cloud technology within our organization provides a lot of advantages, however, at the same time, it also greatly increases cybersecurity risks that should be carefully considered before an educated and ethical decision can be reached. Security is the number one concern and priority when migrating to a cloud environment. First order of business is who or how we are going to house it. In the execution process, buy side traders need to demonstrate reasonable steps to determine a best execution condition, follow their defined firm level best execution trading policy and perform fair dealing to all client accounts on trades. From the point of graduating high school, there is a pressure on students to go to college and get a degree. Colleges should be free because it causes more focus on education, most careers require a college degree and provide new opportunities for children. College should not be free all because taxes would go through the roof and would create a vicious cycle of fighting for careers between people. Having the drive to succeed is another thing that a hunter has. They keep going and persevere through hard obstacles. When the going gets tough, keep on trudging. Part of having that drive, is being fearless. There can be many dangers while hunting. An example of some dangers are predators, such as wolves and bears. During this 2015 deer hunting season, I saw an extraordinary pack of wolves. I was sitting in my stand around 8 o clock or so and saw some movement off to my left. On one hand, our legal mandate prevented our ability to take direct action. One the other, we understood so little about our adversaries we did not fully know which action to take. Subsequent experiences leading soldiers during counterinsurgency efforts in both Iraq and Afghanistan immersed me again in the turmoil created by overlapping networks of non state armed groups competing for economic, social, and political power. Each incident revealed another piece of the puzzle, but the picture it formed remained unclear. I started to wonder if the pieces actually fit, or if I was putting them together incorrectly. I intuitively sensed the ascendant role of non state armed actors in Kosovo. However the way Manh frames his turn can hint at the unequal identities of speakers in this context. The teacher s power exertion seems apparent as there is a sequence of Wh question who used in the turn. Moreover the use of direct object me (line 34 36) is interesting as it signifies the dominance of teacher s agency. Instead of choosing more collective direct objects such as tell us or tell the whole class , the use of tell me can make the classroom discussion become merely the conversation between the teacher and the selected student. This can potentially create a nervous environment for the students. It is noted that although the teacher has initiated many questions, there are no answers from the students. There are also 2.5s and 4s gaps in line 36 which shows the student s unwillingness to take part. The student s unwillingness has led to Manh s power exertion, which is clearly seen in line 37. Also, the Deloitte Touche team s goal to design and implement a pull based synchronous manufacturing, originally a 12 week plan, can and will definitely help SKS integrate and increase efficiency across all business departments. There have been many civil wars in Africa, caused by European empire building in the nineteenth century. Several African races were joined into one country, but half a race was left in another country. These countries were still artificial countries after they achieved independence. One race was often badly treated by the ruling race, which resulted in civil war. This also happened in Europe since the various parts of Yugoslavia were given independence. LDCВЎВ¦s also suffer from wars between different countries, such as: Ethiopia and Somalia, Afghanistan and Russia. There are wars caused by corruption and political differences too, for example: ... Thousands of homes and acres of precious farmland can be destroyed by an earthquake or a flood. If there is no rain, the crops will not grow unless the farmers have the wealth to sink wells, install pumps and organise an irrigation system. Debt Most LDCВЎВ¦s are forced to borrow money from the banks of developed countries to survive and begin to develop. These banks charge interest, so that a less developed country has to pay more in interest than it earns in foreign currency. In the early 70ВЎВ¦s, Chile borrowed 3.9 billion dollars. By 1982, Chile had paid 12.8 billion dollars in interest and still owed money. The extra 9 billion dollars should have been used to speed up ChileВЎВ¦s development, but instead it went to countries that are already rich. Cash crops The only way for many LDCВЎВ¦s to make enough money for their debts is to grow cash crops. Cash crops are grown to be sold rather than consumption. Cotton, Coffee, tea and tobacco are grown to sell to the developed world. Many people in LDCВЎВ¦s are starving because land is used to grown cash crops instead of food. World poverty concerns us all as we depend on each other. For example, if we want the Sudanese to grow cotton for our clothes, we must make sure they have enough food to survive on. Both peoples built mighty temples and made countless sacrifices in the name of their gods, but the exact nature of their relationships with their gods remains a mystery. Historians are left to guess at their customs and traditions from the works they left behind such as Homer s epic poem The Illiad and the anonymous epic poem the Epic of Gilgamesh. From these texts, it becomes apparent that the Mesopotamians relationship with their gods was one founded on a sense of respect while the Greeks was one rooted in fear. Correspondingly, the Mesopotamian gods are more restrained and nurturing in their interactions with humans while the Greek gods are brash and patronizing, though neither set of gods is greatly concerned with the wellbeing of mortals. In both cultures, humans and gods share an undeniable connection in their range and expression of emotion.
