On 24 September 1907, the first 12 sheep, 2 rams and 10 ewes, arrived on board a freight ship at
Swakopmund, which at that time still had a harbour. These sheep were imported to Namibia by the
German government. About 750 Karakuls were imported to Namibia from Asia at the beginning
of the previous century. From there the breed also spread to the Northern Cape and surrounding
areas. Indigenous sheep breeds like the Blackhead Persian and the Namaqua Afrikaner were
especially suitable for the upgrading of the Karakul. The numbers of Karakul increased rapidly
until it reached its peak of more than 5 million for Namibia and South Africa in 1979.

entering the cascade. The pressure difference between the blade pressure surface and the blade
suction surface induces tip leakage flow, which increases heat transfer in the blade tip region. In
this paper, the three dimensional flow and heat transfer are examined for an internally cooled blade
cascade with tip injection using numerical technique. The three dimensional turbulent flow was
obtained by solving Reynolds averaged Navier Stokes equations and the energy equation. The

of our snap judgements and split second decisions. He explains the influential strength of our
subconscious that controls our intuitions and perceptions that translates into our daily actions.
These daily actions occur via thorough thinking or through a simple technique Gladwell calls,
thin slicing . Specifically, this technique showcases how an individual can extract in depth

These factors are only to be associated with your average four door sedan and/or light truck.
These do not include your 18 wheelers, heavy trucks, or the gas guzzling vans that emit more
carbon dioxide into the air and are also on the road more today than ever have been before. Cars
are readily and easily obtainable more so now than ever have been. This creates more fuel to be
burned up in which produces more toxins to be constantly released into the atmosphere. In fact,
according to Scientific American cars relate as much as 30 gallons of GHG, while only driving
3 miles. These miles can be correlated with something just as simple as your average work
commute. According to the United States Census Bureau, Nearly 600,000 full time workers had
megacommutes of at least 90 minutes and 50 miles. Those workers alone would each be releasing
up to 500 gallons of GHG. These can be considered some of the bigger factors that the greenhouse
gasses have taken a toll on.
