Adam Smith Biography
The influence that philosophers have upon each other no intellectual historian will doubt. I don t think
it would be erroneous to say that Adam Smith admired Isaac Newton and imitated his method. In
discussing Isaac Newton s mechanical system of the universe, Smith praised Newton for scientifically
proving irregular and regular planetary motion by connecting celestial and terrestrial phenomena with
the principle of gravity. Smith writes, it was the greatest and most admirable improvement that was
ever made in philosophy. Furthermore he writes that Newton s principles have a degree of firmness
and solidity that we should in vain look for in any other system. In Skinner and Campbell s biography
of Adam Smith, they argue that Smith would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Again, in his criticism, Smith stresses that all systems even systems of thought are like machines.
Smith writes: Systems in many respects resemble machines. A machine is a little system, created to
perform, as well as to connect together, in reality, those different movements and effects which the
artist has occasion for. A system is an imaginary machine invented to connect together in the fancy
those different movements and effects which are already performed. Also, Smith appears to be pleased
with the ability of Newton to explain phenomena that appeared unexplainable, by deducing it from
one principle known to mankind. Contrasting the methods of Aristotle with the methods of Newton in

A Survey Of Secondary Care Pharmacist Independent
A Survey of Secondary Care Pharmacist Independent Prescribers in the West Midlands
Proposal summary
The implementation of pharmacist independent prescribing is an emerging area in healthcare with the
potential to optimise access to medicines. However the actual role of independent prescribers [IP] in
practice is poorly understood and under represented in literature. Current interest in funding for
pharmacist IP by Health Education West Midlands [HEWM] is a major driver behind this research. It
is hoped that this research may be used to help support future investment policies within the West
Midlands [WM].
This undergraduate descriptive observational study aims to identify the role and assess the views of
pharmacist IP working in acute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However non medical prescribing [NMP] is a growing area within healthcare that has evolved over
the last fifteen years. The aims of NMP are to improve patient care, allow easier patient access to
medicines, increase patient choice, to better utilise the skills of healthcare professionals and introduce
flexible team working across the NHS.1 NMP was first considered following The Crown Report 1999,
in which it was suggested that specific professional groups including pharmacists should prescribe
from a restricted formulary for specific conditions.2 This was followed by the NHS Plan 20003 which
set out policy for the development of NMP. Legal changes in 2003 allowed for the development of
supplementary prescribing [SP] for pharmacists.3
By the spring of 2005 there were over 240 pharmacist SP4 and the barriers to SP began to be
recognised. As stated by Hughes et al these included financial and organisational problems, a general
lack of awareness into the role as well as over bureaucracy of the clinical management plan.5
Consultations in 2005 evaluated the option of further extending the prescribing role of pharmacists to
allow patients greater access to healthcare services and pharmacist knowledge.1 Legal changes in
2006 introduced independent prescribing for pharmacists, enabling the prescribing of any licensed
medicine for any medical condition

Donald Trump Xenophobic
The recent inauguration of President Donald Trump garnered much controversy and uproar as
protestor became violent and mass confusion overcame the streets. The sounds of screams and tear gas
bombs overshadowing the history being made with the swearing of the 45th President of the United
States. Among the crowd of protesters were celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Madonna, Katy Perry,
Zendaya, and Scarlett Johansson. These celebrities feverishly protested the swearing in of a president
that many see as a racist, misogynistic, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, islamophobic, xenophobic,

Fast Food Culture
I) Emergence
The fast food culture emerged as early as the 19th century. During the Industrial Revolution, a large
workforce was required to work for 10 to 12 hours a day. With so much work to be done, fast food
was the idea of a quick and easy lunch.
In India, fast food culture emerged in the decades after independence, starting from the 1950 s. Eating
at home used to be a significant aspect of Indian culture, so the change was gradual. Over a period of
time, with a growth in the number of nuclear families, economic growth and increasing per capita
income as well as globalization, fast food culture gained prominence. Women were shifting from their
conventional roles of managing the household and taking care of the children. With growth in ... Show

This requires a high degree of food engineering , the use of additives and processing techniques that
substantially alter the food from its original form and reduce its nutritional value.
The Indians living in the cities have completely forgotten about their traditional Indian dishes and took
to the Western fast food culture. A survey conducted by a leading Indian newspaper says that over 23
per cent of the children in Delhi are obese. One hopes that this estimate is not true; if it is, one
shudders to think of the numbers in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Gurgaon and other
nouveau riche cities with their fast prevailing mall culture and fast food attractions.
Here is a typical scene from one such mall in Hyderabad. It has a 4 movie multiplex theatre,
surrounded by 40 odd fast food kiosks and 20 odd shops that sell clothing, perfumes and jewellery,
music and video CDs and DVDs. Not one of them sells traditional Indian meals or snacks. And the
mall, like 20 others in the city, is filled with thousands of youngsters who obviously have enough to
spend. We did not have such scenes in India twenty years ago, but this mall and fast food culture is
expanding explosively across India. This too is part of the globalization of India, a part that causes
great concern about the health of its citizens.
Today, the world is witnessing a total

The Fertile Crescent is where the start of civilization occurred, and it is often called the cradle of

The domestication of plants and animals was significant because it allowed people to settle and
eliminated the need to be nomads in search for new resources. Mesopotamia was located in the Fertile
Crescent where the land was perfect for successful farming, and it was where the domestication of
plants and animals started which allowed civilization to grow and thrive, (Jamieson Ancient

specialized labor, according to Jamieson, the production of an agricultural surplus allowed segments
of the population to be diverted to other areas or projects, leading to developments in new industries
(such as pottery production, stone carving and metalwork), (Jamieson Ancient Mesopotamia:

The And On Startup Valuations
A How To on Startup Valuations
Valuations are often referred to as an art, rather than a science. An outsider to the field would assume
that there was one precise way to set the value for a growing company, but in the end it comes to
preference. Each company is different with assets that are unique and not easily compared to others.
At a baseline level, a valuation matters because it determines the share of the company [entrepreneurs]
have to give away to an investor in exchange for money (Vital 2013). With billions of dollars on the
line in a valuation, different methods are employed to determine accurate valuations. Proposed
methods can vary based on company type, stage of funding, and many other characteristics. Bill
Payne, long time angel investor, offers four popular methods as a starting point for startup valuation.
These span from the Venture Capital Method in which valuations get their basis from potential return
rates from exit events, the Berkus Method in which monetary standards are set against the progress a
startup has made in commercialization, to the Scorecard Valuation Process in which the company is
compared in a certain region and vertical range based on a set of characteristics, finally the Risk
Factor Summation Method in which characteristics are again inspected in terms of what is expected in
the future (Hudson 2015) .
While in the process of determining companies to fund, Venture Capital firms examine some of these

disadvantages of cable, fibre, wireless in terms of bandwidth, location, security, reliability, set up,

Describe what the user will mainly use a specific LAN for When the first computers were made, they

components, it is now easier than ever for different computers to connect to each other in a LAN

A LAN is a network of computers in a specific area interconnect using a variety of network media. For
example, WBHS LAN are all the computers connected to the WBHS network via Ethernet, Wi fi or
other. This is different from a WAN (Wide area network) which extends to a much wider area such as
a town, city and country. LAN are usually more restricted in access and more numerous.
LAN are used at WBHS to connect all the schofols desktops, servers, all in ones, printers, laptops and
many other devices to each other. For students using BYOD, this gives them access to restricted Wi

Over The Garden Wall Mood Analysis
Setting the Mood: How Over the Garden Wall Mastered Mood In literature, there are several concepts
that are essential to good works. Without these key concepts, the work has no meaning. Some of these
concepts reign supreme over others, such as theme, narrative, and style, while others play a
background role in the story. One of the most important and often overlooked background function of
a piece of literary work is the mood of a piece. You can find mood in several places, and there are
countless examples throughout literature, but without knowing what it is, mood can be a very difficult
concept to grasp or even notice in a piece. Mood is an essential piece that every writer of any form of
literature, whether it be written for the screen, the stage, or in a novel, must seriously consider and
stay true to in order for great work to be created. In order to illustrate the importance of good mood
setting, we will be taking a look at a personal favorite of mine, the miniseries Over the Garden Wall,
which manages to combine several elements to create a near perfect example of mood. Before we can
effectively examine a good example of mood setting, we first must look deeper into what mood is in
the context of literature. Mood is defined as the literary element that evokes a certain feeling or
emotion within the reader. Mood can be conveyed in a novel through several different methods,
including setting, diction, theme, and tone. When we approach a visual medium, such as a

Steve Jobs as a Transformational leader
A transformational leader is a person that lays his/her goals out and takes extraordinary measures to
accomplish them. Their goals usually focus on the well being of the situation and their people. They
strive to change the views of others and convince followers that the ethical behavior is morally correct
of the leader s. An example of an exceptional leader would be Steve Jobs, the current CEO/co founder
of Apple Inc. Jobs is considered a leading figurehead in both the entertainment and computer industry.

During the past 50 years the autocratic style has been used less and less and criticized more often. It is
well known that a company who demonstrates this philosophy will have higher turnover and increased
absenteeism than other companies. Now companies adopt the more modern permissive and interactive
style. However Job s may never be outmatched by a single entity but due to his unique and aggressive
style he single handedly enhanced an entire organization, something the world never anticipated.
When comparing Jobs to historical thinkers it is evident that he clearly shadows Niccolo Machiavelli.
Machiavelli s The Prince is a highly controversial book that outlines Machiavelli s idea on effective
leadership. In the pre industrial era Machiavelli wrote this piece to give advice on how a prince would
stay in power, to keep power, and how to obtain power. An important issue that Machiavelli touches
on is the idea on how princes should keep faith. Machiavelli suggests whether it would be better to be
loved or feared. He notes it is much safer to be feared than loved (The Prince, 4). As mentioned
earlier, Jobs runs his company in a very autocratic sense where the current executives are more feared
by Jobs rather then anything else in the company. When comparing Jobs to Machiavelli it is apparent
that they both possess similar traits. Job s

Infanticide Is The Killing Of An Infant
This paper discusses whether it is ever permissible to commit infanticide or not. Infanticide is the
killing of an infant or the practice of killing newborn infants. It is a difficult subject to discuss since
infanticide seems morally repugnant at first glimpse, though it becomes increasingly complicated as
we reflect on particular nuances in real world cases.
ROADMAP:
I argue that it is impermissible to commit infanticide under any circumstance since committing murder
of a person under any circumstance is wrong. Infanticide in simple words is the murder of a newborn
infant. There is no difference between killing a newborn and a fully grown adult. Both of them can be
defined as persons since they both possess a human essence that makes ... Show more content on

Hence, fully grown adults differ from infants due to the fact that they value life and have the capacity
to retain their memories and personal identity. They can engage in rational thought and appreciate
their existence. Infants aren t even capable of grasping their existence, leave alone any memories.
Hence, they shouldn t even be considered to be persons.
However, this objection isn t valid since eventually even infants will develop the capability to think,
retain memories and value life since abilities are developmental in nature. Also, if rationality and self
awareness define personhood and determine the moral significance of persons, then there are many
fully grown adults who can be disqualified as persons, for example an adult under coma. According to
this argument, since comatose patients are unconscious and can t rationally think at the time, killing
them would be permissible too.
ARGUMENT
I argue that infanticide is impermissible under any circumstance. I will support my stance by arguing
against Peter Singer s argument that supports the infanticide of disabled infants. In Taking Life:
Humans, Singer states that if we can morally kill a disabled fetus that has no self consciousness, it
follows that we can morally kill a disabled infant that has no self consciousness. Take note that Singer
argues in favor of committing infanticide of only disabled infants if it serves the interests of the
parents. He does not argue that it is right to

The Importance Of Greek Culture
Examining a culture one is not accustomed to can create a new found interest in the want to
experience different ways of life. Greeks value family, hospitality, patriotism, spirituality, their
homeland, conversing with one another and stranger alike, the beauty of the land, and the feeling of
being home. Traveling outside of the United States, wherever it may be, broadens a person s
prospective of what different cultures deem meaningful in life. I am beyond grateful and excited to
learn a new way of life and to be able to incorporate these new experiences into the American
customs.
Thinking about the traditional Greek person, I typically think blonde hair, blue eyes, and tall stature.
Conversely, this could not be farther from the truth. Racial mixing came as a result of many centuries
of war and hardships between foreign regions. A few things that remain persistent in a Greek is the
curiosity of all aspects of life, the feeling and need for adventure, and a warm heart. Despite racial
mixing, the traditions of Greek ancestry live on in the lives of the people that fill Greece today.
Another component that emphasizes the Greek person is the land. It is rather easy to acknowledge the
beauty of the Greek landscape, but fully accepting the impact it has on someone is another story. The
soil that Greece is built upon is said to be poor, but the sight of the landscape is known to be
breathtaking. I had never really thought about the land shaping the lives of the people who call

Five Tenets Of Management

Management 3318

Five Tenets of Management The business world is a far different place in the beginning of the 21st
century than it was at the beginning of the 20th century. Globalization is occurring at an ever
increasing pace. The speed with which people can communicate and with which people and goods can
travel has fundamentally altered the perception of distance. People of different cultures are finding it
easier than ever to move for work. Businesses are finding that the diversity of their workforces are
increasing at a rapid rate. Management and leadership have to be able to change and adapt for a
business to be successful in this swiftly changing environment. The best way for a business to succeed
is to implement a Total Quality Management approach that strictly adheres to five principles,
otherwise known as pillars. Total Quality Management (TQM) is not a new management style, nor is
it an Asian management style. The roots of TQM can be traced back to two Americans, William
Deming and Joseph Juran. American organizations were not interested in learning new management
techniques, so Deming and Juran traveled to Asia. The Japanese, desperate for a recovery after WWII,
latched on to the roots of TQM and grew it into the management style that TQM is recognized as
today. The last few decades have seen TQM labeled an Asian management style because the Japanese
and other Asian countries became so adept at utilizing TQM s

8 Thresholds In Big History
In the Big History, there are 8 thresholds; in Genesis 1 there are 7 days. The similarities between the
thresholds and days of creation have similarities literally and metaphorically. The Big Bang, the
emergence of matter forming planets and life; the first day, the creation of heaven and earth. Just like
the Big Bang, the first day created the ability for life to emerge. The stars light up, the second day,
God created light. Although the light God created on the second day is metaphorically goodness, He
created light. Before light, earth was a void, no form, engulfed by darkness. God brings light. Then He
brings day and night, but without stars and the sun; this is when the creation story becomes separated
from the Big History. God then created oceans and land, and then plants and trees; God creates these
things before the sun and stars. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What if the day and night is the separation between good and evil. History shows that humans
measure their days and nights based on the sun. If there was no sun, what kind of day and night was
it? Were these beginnings days and nights, God s time and not the human measured time? God
continues, He then creates the sun and the stars; the formation of new elements and a solar system.
God then created fish and birds, animals that live in the sea and animals that fly above land; the
creation story is thus relinked to Big History. God continues to create more organisms and animals.
Then on the sixth day, man and woman were created. In the creation story, there is not days that show
the emergence of agriculture or industrial ideas. God rests on the seventh day. The seventh day can be
seen as the future, but I like to think the seventh day is when collective learning emerges and that there
is will be always be an invisible eighth day. The eighth day would represent the

A Reflection Of Human Setting In Into The Wild And The...
Novels and storybooks comprise a reflection of human character and individuals in the society. They
are a mirror through which the audience is able to infer lessons which promote their sustainability in
life. Similarly, films are a reflection of a particular viewpoint in the society. Conversely, the film Into
the Wild and the novel Tracks offer insight on an element of human life. They explore the human
setting and collectively conclude that we should all try to escape society. Principally, based on the
premises set forth by the film and the novel, it is our inherent responsibility to isolate ourselves from
those who are around us.
To begin, the theme of isolation comprises a pervasive element in both the novel and the film.
Isolation refers to the distancing of oneself from their communities or peers. In In to the Wild the main
character, Christopher, commits himself to a journey through the isolated wild (Penn 2007). He
renounces his previous affiliations and sets out into the wild with nothing but a journal on existence in
the wild. In the journal, he views himself as a heroic loner and thus contends: You can do anything.
You can go anywhere. Money, power is an illusion. It s up here. You can be here. Me and You (Penn
2007). His commitment to the wild is predicated on the feelings of freedom that were triggered upon
his access into the wild. Equally, the novel Tracks captures the story of Robyn Davidson who leaves

Founding Fathers Hypocritical
The founding fathers may have been smart but they were lacking of important human qualities.
Compared to some of the world leaders we have today, that s no question. Despite being that smart,
you would think they would try not to be hypocritical, when writing one of the most important
document in the history of the United States. The constitution s preamble is hypocritical, it was then
and it is now, but more so in 1789. The Preamble was hypocritical in 1789 because of the voting
system that the US had, when the Preamble says Insure domestic Tranquility , and when the Preamble
says We the people.
The founding fathers brought in a system of voting for their leader, this system was very corrupt at the
time of 1789, and made the preamble look even more hypocritical. The major reason that this made
the Preamble look bad is because the Preamble said We the people, the word people, means ... group
of human beings (men or women or children) collectively The main word in the definition is human,
this means everyone. The last time I checked, only rich property owning white guys could vote in the
US states in 1789, excluding Virginia where women could vote. There are also other reasons for the
voting system making the Preamble hypocritical, like the fact that the Preamble says they will secure
the Blessings of Liberty for ourselves... this is hypocritical because the voting system only let some
people secure their blessings, like bankers and merchants, the other people

Gainsborough, A Story of a Painter and an Era Essay
Gainsborough, A Story of a Painter and an Era
To be able to appraise the originality of eighteenth century English art, one must recognize its
importance in history. A great painter to research is Thomas Gainsborough. His artwork was an
important aspect of the art community of the middle seventeen hundreds. His paintings seem to bring
brightness and color to a period in art that needed his creative boost. His combination of portrait
paintings along with beautiful landscapes was not recognized in his time, but would be recognized as
remarkable later in history.
Thomas Gainsborough was born in 1727 in the town of Sudbury in Suffolk (Internet 1). He grew up as
the son of a woodworking father and his mother was a teacher. He had 7 ... Show more content on

This did not interest Gainsborough; he enjoyed being able to paint subjects outdoors (Internet 4). He
was fond of drawing trees grass and other objects that would not be found in an indoor studio. He was
not the first to draw backgrounds in his paintings; many have done this before him. His task was to
paint a background that was just as important as the subjects do but not distract either. By painting
outdoors, his paintings became much more colorful that most paintings of the past (Woodall 32).
Brighter paintings were much improvement over the paintings of the past. They were very eye
appealing and much more noticeable. Gainsborough s untrained painter s eye did not effect the
outcome of his paintings; he was painting from his heart. He painted whatever his eyes saw; in most
cases the outcome of his paintings were a perfect mix of background and foreground. People began to
start noticing his artwork even though he did not have a degree or formal education in art; this was
very promising to the young painter. His work slowly moved up into the great artwork of the city. His
name was becoming known all around. He can begin his career with the bright colors he added to the
scenery of the painting.
One superb example of where the colors and scenery effected a painting is in the painting Mr. and
Mrs. Andrews. In my first examination of the painting, many questions were brought up. One question

Advocacy Competences of School Counselors
Advocacy is one of the major roles for professional school counselors. The concept of advocacy is the
tradition of professional counselors, but the role of advocacy in school counseling was not valued until
the recent times. The purpose of this paper is to give a reflection about the article on school counseling
in order to show and describe the advocacy competencies of school counselors. The article was written
by Jerry Trusty and Duane Brown. The article was set to provide a structure that helps to
conceptualize advocacy in order to develop advocacy competencies. School counselors have a key
role in advocating for academic success for each student in the school. The advocacy makes the
counselors have a leadership role in encouraging and promoting school reforms. The advocacy efforts
of school counselors aim to eliminate obstacles preventing the development of students and to create
chances for all students to learn. It also aims to ensure students have access to the school curriculum
that fits their needs. School counselors collaborate with other people within and outside the school to
assist students meet their learning needs. In addition, advocacy promotes positive and systematic
change in schools (Trusty Brown, 2005). The advocacy competencies according to Trusty and Brown
s article were designed from literature reviews, personal experiences as school counselors. They
categorized them into three groups, that is, counselor s dispositions, knowledge and skills.

Psychology Of Fear
Many individuals would agree that at least one thing terrifies them. In fact, there is a whole television
series based on what strange phobias people have. These fears or phobias can range from anything
consisting of being terrified of the dark, to being petrified to simply stand next to a person. People
often wonder what causes a fear. One unique theory as to why these fears develop, is that they are the
effect of a traumatic event that took place in the person s life. In addition, another philosophy is that
fear is the body s natural defense to danger. Whatever the cause may be, fear has the gift to maintain a

Reasonable Occupation Review Paper
Effects of the Realistic Job Previews on Employees Job Satisfaction
Abstract
Reasonable occupation review (RJP) is the presentation of data both positive and negative given to the
forthcoming representative about the occupation and the association. The data gave is expected to give
the practical picture of the association. The part of the data stream is to touch base at a phase where
the desires of the representative and the candidate match. It is being contended that representatives
who are given RJP s amid the enlistment and determination process have higher occupation
fulfillment. Along these lines, the point of this study is to distinguish the connections between
practical work sneak peaks and worker work fulfillment in the associations. ... Show more content on

It is made helpful by utilizing both formal and casual techniques. Its convenience can be surveyed if
the association discovers workforce, which coordinates its necessities.Better enlistment strategies give
an upper hand to the association (Kecia, and Gail, 1999). One of the striking elements of an enlistment
procedure is the capacity to influence an applicant (Quinetta, Collins and Oreg, 2005). It imparts
looked for after and ugly parts of the employment to the occupation candidate before he/she makes a
choice to acknowledge the occupation offer (Champnoise, 2004). Great RJPs give a complete
depiction of the employment (O Nell et al., 2001). It is meant to guarantee that gainful and able
candidates must join the association with a long haul responsibility to the association (Champnoise,
2004). It is normal that a great job practical sneak peak can help in lessening the turnover and the
employing cost (O Nell et al., 2001). RJPs are proposed to give practical employment data. On the off
chance that the data is excessively negative, then it would withhold the possibility to join the
association (Quinetta, Collins, and Oreg, 2005). The data gave ought to be adjusted both positive and
negative data, and the excessively positive data is unsafe for an association (Morse, 2007). RJPs are

The Case Of Terry Vs Ohio
Ever since 1968 and the Supreme Court case of Terry vs Ohio was settled, stop and frisking policies
have been used by police everywhere in the United States. However, lately the use of this tactic,
especially in New York, has raised the questions of whether or not these stop and frisks are actually
helping as well as the question of whether or not these supposed random stops are unbiased. There
have been a great number of arguments for the continuation of stop and frisk policies as well as the
cease of such tactics to lower the crime rate in cities. In New York, these concerns were first brought
to light in the late 1990 s. Throughout this decade, the huge decrease in crime rates had been credited
to the fact that NYPD had taken the stop and frisk policies very seriously. However, near the end of
the decade there were repeated complaints of harassment of minority communities (Gelman). The
people of New York were complaining that the NYPD were stopping people and treating people
differently based on their ethnic background, which brings up the bigger and more disturbing
question; Were the police stopping minorities based on racial bias? To better look at the history of the
practice of stopping and frisking and how it evolved into what it is today, it would be best to more
fully define when it is ok for police officers to stop and frisk people. According to the 4th
Amendment, it is constitutional for police officers to detain and search people if there is

Religion Vs Religion
How religion is represented and interpreted in America is continuously evolving. The Apollo II moon
landing brought about a renewed interpretation of more naturalistic religions such as Paganism in the
late 1960s and early 1970s. However, at the same time, many areas of U.S. law began changing to no
longer reflect religion but a more secular establishment as can be seen in Supreme Court Case Roe v.
Wade (p.277!). In fact, it was once commonplace to have religious symbols, such as the ten
commandments, in government facilities, but as the United States became more religiously diverse
and accepting, the less lenient it s become on violations of the establishment clause of the First
Amendment.
In 1969 Apollo II landed on the moon and transmitted pictures of the Earth back to the public. Seeing
the Earth as a small, spinning blue ball surrounded by darkness spurred the imagination and
conscience of many (Goff Harvey, 2004, p. 124). In the 1970s, many reacted to these scientific
advancements by rejecting modern conveniences and returning to nature. As a result, naturalistic
religions that had been nearly forgotten, such as Paganism and Wicca, were rekindled as well (Goff
Harvey, 2004, p. 125). Despite scientific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

As a child, Beethoven s father pushed him past his limits to be a musician. The young boy s neighbors
accounted for hearing weeping while he played the clavier, standing atop a footstool to reach the keys,
his father beating him for each hesitation or mistake ( Ludwig ). He was flogged on a near daily basis
and locked in the cellar and deprived of sleep for extra hours of practice ( Ludwig ). Due to the
inhuman amount of hours he spent playing music, Beethoven began showing flashes of the creative
imagination that would eventually reach farther than any composer s before or since ( Ludwig ). He

Politics And Power Motifs In Julius Caesar
Abraham Lincoln once stated Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man s
character, give him power. In Lincoln s statement a key term is power, which means the ability or right
to control people or things. Another important term in Lincoln s statement is adversity, which means a
difficult situation or condition. Taken as a whole, Lincoln means that all men can handle a difficult
period by themselves easily, but when someone has power and battles a situation it makes a person
corrupt and harder to handle situations. This is because when you have power it is easier to do the
wrong thing. Furthermore, Lincoln implies in his statement that power defines a person and power can

After analyzing the energy drink market, I came to the conclusion that Red Bull should try to decrease
its price in order to maintain the rising star position in the Boston Consulting Matrix in which it
currently is placed. New Product Development (NPD) is also crucial in order to compete in the

  • 2. Adam Smith Biography The influence that philosophers have upon each other no intellectual historian will doubt. I don t think it would be erroneous to say that Adam Smith admired Isaac Newton and imitated his method. In discussing Isaac Newton s mechanical system of the universe, Smith praised Newton for scientifically proving irregular and regular planetary motion by connecting celestial and terrestrial phenomena with the principle of gravity. Smith writes, it was the greatest and most admirable improvement that was ever made in philosophy. Furthermore he writes that Newton s principles have a degree of firmness and solidity that we should in vain look for in any other system. In Skinner and Campbell s biography of Adam Smith, they argue that Smith would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Again, in his criticism, Smith stresses that all systems even systems of thought are like machines. Smith writes: Systems in many respects resemble machines. A machine is a little system, created to perform, as well as to connect together, in reality, those different movements and effects which the artist has occasion for. A system is an imaginary machine invented to connect together in the fancy those different movements and effects which are already performed. Also, Smith appears to be pleased with the ability of Newton to explain phenomena that appeared unexplainable, by deducing it from one principle known to mankind. A Survey Of Secondary Care Pharmacist Independent A Survey of Secondary Care Pharmacist Independent Prescribers in the West Midlands Proposal summary The implementation of pharmacist independent prescribing is an emerging area in healthcare with the potential to optimise access to medicines. However the actual role of independent prescribers [IP] in practice is poorly understood and under represented in literature. Current interest in funding for pharmacist IP by Health Education West Midlands [HEWM] is a major driver behind this research. It is hoped that this research may be used to help support future investment policies within the West Midlands [WM]. This undergraduate descriptive observational study aims to identify the role and assess the views of pharmacist IP working in acute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However non medical prescribing [NMP] is a growing area within healthcare that has evolved over the last fifteen years. The aims of NMP are to improve patient care, allow easier patient access to medicines, increase patient choice, to better utilise the skills of healthcare professionals and introduce flexible team working across the NHS.1 NMP was first considered following The Crown Report 1999, in which it was suggested that specific professional groups including pharmacists should prescribe from a restricted formulary for specific conditions.2 This was followed by the NHS Plan 20003 which set out policy for the development of NMP. Legal changes in 2003 allowed for the development of supplementary prescribing [SP] for pharmacists.3 By the spring of 2005 there were over 240 pharmacist SP4 and the barriers to SP began to be recognised. As stated by Hughes et al these included financial and organisational problems, a general lack of awareness into the role as well as over bureaucracy of the clinical management plan.5 Consultations in 2005 evaluated the option of further extending the prescribing role of pharmacists to allow patients greater access to healthcare services and pharmacist knowledge.1 Legal changes in 2006 introduced independent prescribing for pharmacists, enabling the prescribing of any licensed medicine for any medical condition ... With so much work to be done, fast food was the idea of a quick and easy lunch. In India, fast food culture emerged in the decades after independence, starting from the 1950 s. Eating at home used to be a significant aspect of Indian culture, so the change was gradual. Over a period of time, with a growth in the number of nuclear families, economic growth and increasing per capita income as well as globalization, fast food culture gained prominence. The Indians living in the cities have completely forgotten about their traditional Indian dishes and took to the Western fast food culture. A survey conducted by a leading Indian newspaper says that over 23 per cent of the children in Delhi are obese. One hopes that this estimate is not true; if it is, one shudders to think of the numbers in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Gurgaon and other nouveau riche cities with their fast prevailing mall culture and fast food attractions. Here is a typical scene from one such mall in Hyderabad. It has a 4 movie multiplex theatre, surrounded by 40 odd fast food kiosks and 20 odd shops that sell clothing, perfumes and jewellery, music and video CDs and DVDs. Not one of them sells traditional Indian meals or snacks. And the mall, like 20 others in the city, is filled with thousands of youngsters who obviously have enough to spend. We did not have such scenes in India twenty years ago, but this mall and fast food culture is expanding explosively across India. This too is part of the globalization of India, a part that causes great concern about the health of its citizens. Today, the world is witnessing a total ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An outsider to the field would assume that there was one precise way to set the value for a growing company, but in the end it comes to preference. Each company is different with assets that are unique and not easily compared to others. At a baseline level, a valuation matters because it determines the share of the company [entrepreneurs] have to give away to an investor in exchange for money (Vital 2013). With billions of dollars on the line in a valuation, different methods are employed to determine accurate valuations. Proposed methods can vary based on company type, stage of funding, and many other characteristics. Bill Payne, long time angel investor, offers four popular methods as a starting point for startup valuation. These span from the Venture Capital Method in which valuations get their basis from potential return rates from exit events, the Berkus Method in which monetary standards are set against the progress a startup has made in commercialization, to the Scorecard Valuation Process in which the company is compared in a certain region and vertical range based on a set of characteristics, finally the Risk Factor Summation Method in which characteristics are again inspected in terms of what is expected in the future (Hudson 2015) . • 11. Over The Garden Wall Mood Analysis Setting the Mood: How Over the Garden Wall Mastered Mood In literature, there are several concepts that are essential to good works. Without these key concepts, the work has no meaning. Some of these concepts reign supreme over others, such as theme, narrative, and style, while others play a background role in the story. One of the most important and often overlooked background function of a piece of literary work is the mood of a piece. You can find mood in several places, and there are countless examples throughout literature, but without knowing what it is, mood can be a very difficult concept to grasp or even notice in a piece. Mood is an essential piece that every writer of any form of literature, whether it be written for the screen, the stage, or in a novel, must seriously consider and stay true to in order for great work to be created. In order to illustrate the importance of good mood setting, we will be taking a look at a personal favorite of mine, the miniseries Over the Garden Wall, which manages to combine several elements to create a near perfect example of mood. Before we can effectively examine a good example of mood setting, we first must look deeper into what mood is in the context of literature. Mood is defined as the literary element that evokes a certain feeling or emotion within the reader. Mood can be conveyed in a novel through several different methods, including setting, diction, theme, and tone. When we approach a visual medium, such as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However Job s may never be outmatched by a single entity but due to his unique and aggressive style he single handedly enhanced an entire organization, something the world never anticipated. When comparing Jobs to historical thinkers it is evident that he clearly shadows Niccolo Machiavelli. Machiavelli s The Prince is a highly controversial book that outlines Machiavelli s idea on effective leadership. In the pre industrial era Machiavelli wrote this piece to give advice on how a prince would stay in power, to keep power, and how to obtain power. An important issue that Machiavelli touches on is the idea on how princes should keep faith. Machiavelli suggests whether it would be better to be loved or feared. He notes it is much safer to be feared than loved (The Prince, 4). • 13. Infanticide Is The Killing Of An Infant This paper discusses whether it is ever permissible to commit infanticide or not. Infanticide is the killing of an infant or the practice of killing newborn infants. It is a difficult subject to discuss since infanticide seems morally repugnant at first glimpse, though it becomes increasingly complicated as we reflect on particular nuances in real world cases. ROADMAP: I argue that it is impermissible to commit infanticide under any circumstance since committing murder of a person under any circumstance is wrong. Infanticide in simple words is the murder of a newborn infant. There is no difference between killing a newborn and a fully grown adult. Both of them can be defined as persons since they both possess a human essence that makes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hence, fully grown adults differ from infants due to the fact that they value life and have the capacity to retain their memories and personal identity. They can engage in rational thought and appreciate their existence. Infants aren t even capable of grasping their existence, leave alone any memories. Hence, they shouldn t even be considered to be persons. However, this objection isn t valid since eventually even infants will develop the capability to think, retain memories and value life since abilities are developmental in nature. Also, if rationality and self awareness define personhood and determine the moral significance of persons, then there are many fully grown adults who can be disqualified as persons, for example an adult under coma. According to this argument, since comatose patients are unconscious and can t rationally think at the time, killing them would be permissible too. ARGUMENT I argue that infanticide is impermissible under any circumstance. I will support my stance by arguing against Peter Singer s argument that supports the infanticide of disabled infants. In Taking Life: Humans, Singer states that if we can morally kill a disabled fetus that has no self consciousness, it follows that we can morally kill a disabled infant that has no self consciousness. Take note that Singer argues in favor of committing infanticide of only disabled infants if it serves the interests of the parents. He does not argue that it is right to ... Greeks value family, hospitality, patriotism, spirituality, their homeland, conversing with one another and stranger alike, the beauty of the land, and the feeling of being home. Traveling outside of the United States, wherever it may be, broadens a person s prospective of what different cultures deem meaningful in life. I am beyond grateful and excited to learn a new way of life and to be able to incorporate these new experiences into the American customs. Thinking about the traditional Greek person, I typically think blonde hair, blue eyes, and tall stature. Conversely, this could not be farther from the truth. Racial mixing came as a result of many centuries of war and hardships between foreign regions. A few things that remain persistent in a Greek is the curiosity of all aspects of life, the feeling and need for adventure, and a warm heart. Despite racial mixing, the traditions of Greek ancestry live on in the lives of the people that fill Greece today. Another component that emphasizes the Greek person is the land. It is rather easy to acknowledge the beauty of the Greek landscape, but fully accepting the impact it has on someone is another story. Globalization is occurring at an ever increasing pace. The speed with which people can communicate and with which people and goods can travel has fundamentally altered the perception of distance. People of different cultures are finding it easier than ever to move for work. Businesses are finding that the diversity of their workforces are increasing at a rapid rate. Management and leadership have to be able to change and adapt for a business to be successful in this swiftly changing environment. The best way for a business to succeed is to implement a Total Quality Management approach that strictly adheres to five principles, otherwise known as pillars. Total Quality Management (TQM) is not a new management style, nor is it an Asian management style. The roots of TQM can be traced back to two Americans, William Deming and Joseph Juran. American organizations were not interested in learning new management techniques, so Deming and Juran traveled to Asia. The Japanese, desperate for a recovery after WWII, latched on to the roots of TQM and grew it into the management style that TQM is recognized as today. They are a mirror through which the audience is able to infer lessons which promote their sustainability in life. Similarly, films are a reflection of a particular viewpoint in the society. Conversely, the film Into the Wild and the novel Tracks offer insight on an element of human life. They explore the human setting and collectively conclude that we should all try to escape society. Principally, based on the premises set forth by the film and the novel, it is our inherent responsibility to isolate ourselves from those who are around us. To begin, the theme of isolation comprises a pervasive element in both the novel and the film. Isolation refers to the distancing of oneself from their communities or peers. In In to the Wild the main character, Christopher, commits himself to a journey through the isolated wild (Penn 2007). He renounces his previous affiliations and sets out into the wild with nothing but a journal on existence in the wild. In the journal, he views himself as a heroic loner and thus contends: You can do anything. You can go anywhere. Money, power is an illusion. It s up here. You can be here. Me and You (Penn 2007). The founding fathers brought in a system of voting for their leader, this system was very corrupt at the time of 1789, and made the preamble look even more hypocritical. The last time I checked, only rich property owning white guys could vote in the US states in 1789, excluding Virginia where women could vote. • 29. The Case Of Terry Vs Ohio Ever since 1968 and the Supreme Court case of Terry vs Ohio was settled, stop and frisking policies have been used by police everywhere in the United States. However, lately the use of this tactic, especially in New York, has raised the questions of whether or not these stop and frisks are actually helping as well as the question of whether or not these supposed random stops are unbiased. There have been a great number of arguments for the continuation of stop and frisk policies as well as the cease of such tactics to lower the crime rate in cities. In New York, these concerns were first brought to light in the late 1990 s. Throughout this decade, the huge decrease in crime rates had been credited to the fact that NYPD had taken the stop and frisk policies very seriously. However, near the end of the decade there were repeated complaints of harassment of minority communities (Gelman). The people of New York were complaining that the NYPD were stopping people and treating people differently based on their ethnic background, which brings up the bigger and more disturbing question; Were the police stopping minorities based on racial bias? To better look at the history of the practice of stopping and frisking and how it evolved into what it is today, it would be best to more fully define when it is ok for police officers to stop and frisk people. According to the 4th Amendment, it is constitutional for police officers to detain and search people if there is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. Religion Vs Religion How religion is represented and interpreted in America is continuously evolving. The Apollo II moon landing brought about a renewed interpretation of more naturalistic religions such as Paganism in the late 1960s and early 1970s. However, at the same time, many areas of U.S. law began changing to no longer reflect religion but a more secular establishment as can be seen in Supreme Court Case Roe v. Wade (p.277!). In fact, it was once commonplace to have religious symbols, such as the ten commandments, in government facilities, but as the United States became more religiously diverse and accepting, the less lenient it s become on violations of the establishment clause of the First Amendment. In 1969 Apollo II landed on the moon and transmitted pictures of the Earth back to the public. Seeing the Earth as a small, spinning blue ball surrounded by darkness spurred the imagination and conscience of many (Goff Harvey, 2004, p. 124). In the 1970s, many reacted to these scientific advancements by rejecting modern conveniences and returning to nature. As a result, naturalistic religions that had been nearly forgotten, such as Paganism and Wicca, were rekindled as well (Goff Harvey, 2004, p. 125). Despite scientific ... The young boy s neighbors accounted for hearing weeping while he played the clavier, standing atop a footstool to reach the keys, his father beating him for each hesitation or mistake ( Ludwig ). He was flogged on a near daily basis and locked in the cellar and deprived of sleep for extra hours of practice ( Ludwig ). Due to the inhuman amount of hours he spent playing music, Beethoven began showing flashes of the creative imagination that would eventually reach farther than any composer s before or since ( Ludwig ). • 38. Politics And Power Motifs In Julius Caesar Abraham Lincoln once stated Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man s character, give him power. In Lincoln s statement a key term is power, which means the ability or right to control people or things. Another important term in Lincoln s statement is adversity, which means a difficult situation or condition. Taken as a whole, Lincoln means that all men can handle a difficult period by themselves easily, but when someone has power and battles a situation it makes a person corrupt and harder to handle situations. This is because when you have power it is easier to do the wrong thing. Furthermore, Lincoln implies in his statement that power defines a person and power can change a person, most of the time for the bad.
