Final year project proposal
TITLE
PRIVATE EQUITY/VENTURE CAPITAL
INTRODUCTION
This section will give a short introduction to this dissertation, by identifying a context for the
placement of the research in terms of the literature and also why this topic is worthy of research. An
overview of the private equity industry will be given, followed by the research objectives,
contributions and targeted audience.
This paper examines the effect of private equity industry on the performances of portfolio companies
in the UK. Private equity is a capital or an asset in operating companies that are not publicly traded.
Private equity firms create investment funds that receive capital from investors known as limited
partners. It is medium to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The private equity investors known as the general partners, use their capital along with the money
borrowed from banks, to buy companies that they believe could be notably more successful with the
right combination of talent, strategy and capital. Private Equity investment market has been the fastest
growing market in the past 15 years for corporate finance, compared to other markets such as the
public equity and bond markets. George (1996) wrote a book called ?The economics of the private
equity market that examines the reasons for the market s unpredictable growth over the past fifteen
years and highlights the key features of that growth. It examines the economic basis of the private
equity market, analyzes the market s current role and development in corporate finance, and describes
the market s institutional structure. However despite its rapid growth and increased significant for
corporate finance, it has received little attention in the academic literature or press.
Joshua Lerner, 1994 wrote a book called ?The Syndication of Venture Capital Investments in which he
said that Between 1980 and 1994, the amount of private equity outstanding rose from less than $5
billion to $100 billion. This study examines the reasons for the market s incredible growth between

The Spiritual and Physical Dimensions in The Birthmark Essay
The Spiritual and Physical Dimensions in The Birthmark
Fred Allen Wolf notes in Taking the Quantum Leap that it was not until the 20th century that scientists
realized that to observe is to disturb, for observation breaks the wholeness of nature. If observing
disturbs, then when a scientist tampers and tries to perfect nature the result can only be disastrous. The
goal of most scientists is to observe and understand the mysteries of nature. Nathaniel Hawthorne
realized that the scientists of the 19th century were beginning to challenge the traditional views of
science and man. The traditional view of man holds that man is both material and spiritual.
Advancements in science led some scientists to begin to think that man was only ... Show more

This is evidenced when the narrator makes reference to the fact that Aylmer had studied the wonders
of the human frame, and attempted to fathom the very process by which Nature assimilates all her
precious influences from earth and air, (2). Aylmer did not want to accept the reality that there was a
mystery of life that was beyond our understanding and ability to manipulate. According to the
narrator, Aylmer had long laid aside in unwilling recognition of the truth that our great creative
Mother, while she amuses us with apparently working in the broadest sunshine, is careful to keep her
own secrets, (2). He laid aside the reality of the real spiritual world that lies beyond the grasp of man
because he was unwilling to face his own limitations as a man and scientist. As he embarked on his
plan to perfect Georgiana, he continued to lay aside the truth because the truth lay in the path of his
proposed scheme for the treatment of Georgiana, (2). William E. Grant comments that Aylmer is the
archetype for all Hawthorne s scientists, since he represents both what is best and what is worst about
all of them, (3). His goal was honorable, that is to rid Georgiana of her defect, his denial of the truth,
that his abilities were in fact limited, was his downfall. It isn t till later, that we see a glimpse that he
has begun to recognize his limitations as he faces the reality of a real and powerful spiritual world.

Hicks And The Is Lm Curve
Dan Hill AAEC 8210 December 1st, 2015 Hicks and the IS LM Curve While J.R. Hicks received the
Nobel Prize for many of his accomplishments in both macroeconomic and microeconomic research,
his development of what he then called the SI LL model, but is now more famously known as the IS
LM model, was one of his greatest feats. The IS LM model was Hicks reduction of aggregate demand
analysis done by John Maynard Keynes in his book titled The General Theory of Employment,
Interest, and Money published in 1936. The model s purpose was to explain investor decisions
dependent on money availability and interest rates in the goods and services market and assets market.
The IS LM model now plays an integral role in both general macroeconomic understanding and policy
analysis. IS LM stands for investment savings and liquidity money, and can be represented graphically
by a downward sloping curve for IS and an upward sloping curve for LM. In the IS curve, anywhere
along the curve represents a point where interest rate and income satisfy that total spending equals the
economy s total output (real income). Total spending/demand is determined by adding together
consumer expenditure, investment, government expenditure, and net exports (investment being the
only endogenous variable among the four). In this equation, the assumptions are that; consumer
spending is increasing with more disposable income, investment is increasing as interest rates
increase, and exports are increasing with

Fair Value Accounting vs. Historical Cost Accounting
Paul Jaijairam, Bronx Community College, City University of New York, USA
ABSTRACT This paper reviews fair value accounting method relative to historical cost accounting.
Although both methods are widely used by entities in computing their income and financial positions,
there is controversy over superiority. Historical cost accounting reports assets and liabilities at the
initial price they were exchanged for at the time of the transaction. Conversely, fair value accounting
quotes the prevailing price in the market. Nevertheless, while both methods of accounting affect
financial statements, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Determining the true market value of an asset is sometimes controversial, especially for assets that do
not have active and liquid markets. By definition, the fair value does not need the existence of an
active market. In case of market inexistence, IASB offers guideline that looks at the type of assets or
liabilities. For instance, for property, plant and equipment, depreciated replacement cost is
recommended if market based evidence is unascertainable. For biological assets (animals and plants),
IASB suggest the use of discounted present values of future cash flows (Weetman, 2011). Later, FASB
introduced FASB ASC 820 Fair Value Measurements and Disclosures (SFAS 157) (Zyla, 2010). The
main aim of this statement is to offer additional guidance and information on issues that relate to fair
value and its measurement. FASB ASC 820 Fair Value Measurements, in technical terms, does not
bring in any new accounting principle rather it provides financial analysts and auditors with additional
information on how the FASB intends fair value to be measure in any instance it is required in
financial reporting (Zyla, 2010). The FAS 159 the Fair Value Option(FVO) on Financial Assets and
Financial Liabilities brings in the fair value option that a company may use in their first and
successive measurements of their particular financial liabilities and

Ww1 Lab Report
Early October 1917: The returning Canadians who fought at Ypres in 1915 and 1916 are shocked at
the scenes in the salient.
Everything is destroyed, nothing green remains.
The dead of the earlier battles are everywhere and the ground is a maze of interconnected, water filled
shell holes. Canadian soldiers have heard rumours about the upcoming battle and are unnerved.
October 17, 1917: Canadian engineers and pioneers begin to extend the transport system, construct
artillery positions and move ammunition and supplies to the front, all in preparation for the coming
battles. They work amidst continuous shelling, gas attacks and the most horrendous conditions
possible.

Again the 3rd Division is short of its objective, but it secures additional ground and is now on drier
land.
Heavy losses are suffered in this attack, particularly by Princess Patricia s Canadian Light Infantry
(PPCLI) and the 49th Battalion.
The 4th Division also launches a three pronged attack from the stronghold it had established partway
up Passchendaele Ridge.
They have great difficulty determining where they are to attack:
All landmarks shown on reference maps had been obliterated; roads, trees and most buildings were
reduced to dust. Nonetheless, the attack goes according to plan.
Although suffering heavy casualties, they capture a series of fortified buildings Vienna Cottages and
Crest Farm both near Passchendaele.
November 6, 1917: The Canadians are now on drier land and Passchendaele Village is only 100
metres away.
The depleted battalions of the 3rd and 4th Battalions are withdrawn and their replacements are fresh
soldiers from the 1st and 2nd. The 1st Division, emerging from the Bellevue Spur, is to attack
Passchendaele Ridge from the north.
The 3rd Battalion from Toronto protects the northern flank of the assault by seizing a fortified farm
that was pouring machine gun fire into the Canadian attack.
This allows everything to go as planned and the 1st Division s assault is a huge success.
The 2nd Division s assault is directly

Democracy In Law Enforcement
People talk about law enforcement need training on how to talk to traffic violators and individuals in
general. Police face obstacles daily during and after work. The news media is part of the issue police
face. Example: officer shot an unarmed suspect for no reason. The police should have talked to the
person before he killed him. The news report half of the stories that are not true, but the news
personnel never apologize. Democracy is people s sovereignty. (Szelely, C. 2016). In the public eyes,
the first impression is to prejudge the officer. The most important rule of the day for officers is to save
someone life and return home to your family. The police and the public need to join forces and work

Speech About Flamingo
Flamingos are a type of wading bird that live in areas of large shallow lakes, lagoons, mangrove
swamps, tidal flats, and sandy islands.
Flamingos are famous for their bright pink feathers, stilt like legs, and S shaped neck.
Flamingos tend to live a long life in the wild though with an average of 20 to 30 years. In captivity
some of them have lived up to 40 years.
There are six species of flamingo: greater flamingo, lesser flamingo, Chilean flamingo, Andean
flamingo,
James (or puna) flamingo and American (or Caribbean) flamingo.
The most widespread flamingo is the Greater flamingo found in areas of Africa, Southern Europe and
South,
Southwest Asia. The Lesser flamingo is the most numerous and lives in the Great Rift Valley of Africa

Flight speed of a flock of flamingos can reach 50 to 60 kilometer per hour (31 to 37 miles per hour).
Flamingos have been known to fly 500 to 600 kilometers (311 373 miiles) each night between
habitats.
The majority of lakes where flamingos live have extremely high salt concentrations. The only source
of fresh water for some of these birds comes from boiling geysers. Flamingos are capable of drinking
water at temperatures that approach the boiling point.
They excrete salt through salt glands in the nostrils. Flamingos eat larva, small insects, blue green and
red algae, mollusks, crustaceans and small fish.
A flamingo s pink or reddish feather, leg, and facial coloration come from a diet high in alpha and beta
carotenoid pigments, including canthaxanthin. The richest sources of carotenoids are found in the
algae and various invertebrates that make up the bulk of a flamingo s diet.
Scientists aren t sure why do flamingos stand on one leg. There is less heat lost through the leg if it is
tucked next to the bird s body; however, this behavior is also seen in hot climates. Another explanation
is more mundane: it s probably a comfortable position for

The Planned Parenthood Debate
The U.S. Senate blocked a bill to defund Planned Parenthood and channel federal dollars to other
health care providers and community health centers that do not perform abortions on Monday.
The bill calling for defunding of Planned Parenthood was introduced by Freshman Senator Joni Ernst,
R Iowa, who ran an anti abortion campaign last year.
The American taxpayer should not be asked to fund an organization like Planned Parenthood that has
shown a sheer disdain for human dignity and complete disregard for women and their babies, she said
on Monday in a floor speech.
The vote on the bill was 53 46, 7 votes short of the 60 votes required to proceed and for debate to open
on the bill. The votes fell mostly along party lines.
Planned Parenthood provides health care services besides abortion like cervical cancer screenings,
contraception, testing for sexually transmitted diseases, and birth control counseling to approximately
2.7 million women a year at over 700 affiliated health centers across the country. It receives more than
$500 million a year in Medicaid reimbursements and $60 million in grants for family planning
services. However, U.S. law prohibits the use of federal funds to perform abortions. Donated fetal
tissue also cannot be sold for profit. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sex Segregation
Sex segregation is one of the most visible signs of inequality in the labor force. Throughout history,
women have been socially and professionally unequal to men. Women were expected to be confined
to the home in order to take care of the children and do the required chores, while the man of the
house was granted the luxury of experiencing the world by working to provide for the family. Women
were long considered naturally weaker than men, squeamish, and unable to perform work requiring
muscular or intellectual development. This ignored the fact that caring for children and doing such
tasks as milking cows and washing clothes also required heavy, sustained labor. (Compton s

same affect occurs for boys when look at the separation of masculinity and femininity. One of the first
solutions to be made in order to correct sex segregation in the workplace is by properly educating
students on the labor market. Due to the fact that women are already disadvantaged when it comes to
education, a stride needs to be made when focusing on career education. We continue to bolster sex
segregation by limiting women s interest, knowledge and preparation for occupations that have been
predominantly labeled male. Another solution to this societal issue could be the implementation of a
critical mass throughout male dominant occupations. This would

Essay on District Budget Design
In a time of financial hard ships, balancing a districts budget has become increasingly difficult. As a
school board member for the Peoria School district it is important and crucial to effective budget
decision making to be educated on the school districts budget design and delegated responsibilities
within the system. These decisions need to be made based on the protection of public funds and
property. The legal responsibility for such protection rests solely with the board of education in each
school district (Brimley, Verstengen, Garfield, 2012, pg. 332). Areas vital to this effective decision

Superintendent and School Board s Responsibilities The superintendent, by law in some states and by
assignment in others, is the executive officer charged with carrying out the programs that the budget
authorizes (Brimley, Verstengen, Garfield, 2012, pg. 284). Some of these responsibilities are delegated
within the business staff and district administrators. The school boards responsibility for operating
schools carries with it stated and implied powers for the protection of public funds and property
(Brimley, Verstengen, Garfield, 2012, pg. 332). The board will be presented the budget upon
completion and their job is to approve the budget. If they do not approve, they must give
administrative staff ideas on how to approve the plan in order for them to approve it. The principals
are chief financial officer at the school level (Brimley, Verstengen, Garfield, 2012). The principal will
carry out the plan and distribute money according to the needs of his or her school. The principal will
establish a two sided budget and ledger sheet with all receipts and expenditures along with monthly
reports that will be reported to the district office (Brimley, Verstengen, Garfield, 2012). Decentralize

Ordinary By Susan Griffin Summary
What we see on the outside is not always what is felt or endured on the inside. The real truth about a
person can be hidden, manipulated, sometimes even forgotten in the back of the person s mind. This
truth is masked, and it is not always easy to be unearthed. This is ordinary. There is not one person on
this planet that does not have a sort of mask obscuring a truth or secret that is unknown to the people
around them. People living before our generation, like the Himmlers, had secrets. People living now

troublesome marriage but many critics said the saying could also mean that the guest always got the

How Is Diction Used In Literature
A character s usage of words can create not only emotions for others, but for their own as well.
Throughout Indian and Pakistani literature, a character s emotions on him or herself is expressed
throughout the experience of the past. Through their literature, authors wrote their stories through the

Critical Role In Crime Statistics
Over centuries there has been a great deal of discussion concerning problems that relate to criminals,
crime, and the in succession of justice in the United States. The desire to have factual information has
been a concern for a long time. According to Hurst (2013:277), the Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI) has been keeping track of all crimes in the United States. Crime rates are categorized and stored
in a crime index. The FBI crime Index stores every property and violent crime report in the world. By
utilizing standard definitions and procedures established by national programs the information is
placed in the form of a statistical value to inform citizens of crime rating in their communities.
Criminal statistics has become a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, they also have their limitations and don t procure statistics useful for local crime prevention,
often ignore offenses against children and do not count offenders brought before the criminal justice
system. Problems also lie in interpreting data that is supposed to provide prolific information.
Statistics can be used to make the government look good, to see how successful a police force is and
used by the media to create moral panics. One issue with characterizing the current crime statistics is
the perception about racial groups that affect individuals fears and views of crime ratings.
Another critical problem that plays a role in crime statistics is racial stereotyping. Hurst (2013:277)
suggests that racial stereotyping and fear may affect crime reports which lead to racial profiling.
Consequently, cities have attendance to provide crime rates solely based on misleading bias
information. A big issue when it comes down to stereotyping is that people tend to believe that in a lot
of black areas, the crime rate is affected by high levels of crime. In studying the social consequence of
inequality, evidence has shown that perception is a reality when it comes to socio economic

Rhetorical Analysis Of The Clock Shadows And Dark...
Aristotelian mimesis dictates that the art produced by our culture and society is an imitation of our
reality. If so, then our contemporary entertainment era overstocked in brooding, morally ambiguous
anti heroes bearing five o clock shadows and dark and gritty narratives are a reflection of the flawed
and unrelenting modern day reality that we inhabit. This age of morally gray storytelling is a stark
contrast to the idealistic depictions of American society and traditional family values found throughout
various 1950s television (Museum of Broadcast Communications). The force behind this shift from a
rather jubilant, dreamlike state of Cold War era media, to the grim and cynical state of present day
film, television, and music can thus be interpreted by some romanticists with a longing for the good ol
days as a decline of virtues and goodness in American society. However, the goodness of America
found in 1950s media was hardly a true reflection of reality. Through the further development of mass
media and communications in the following decades, however, American audiences were then able to
see passed the goodness from the shelter of their own homes (Murray). The realities that went into the
lenses of news cameras, and out the screens of black and white television tubes exposed the horrors of
war in Vietnam and the injustice towards nonviolent Black protestors to the archetypical nuclear
families of America, distorting their idealized perceptions of American

Economic Platform For The Philippines
Economic Platform for the Philippines economic growth in the trade sector Brooks (2014) states that
in 2008, the entire Southeast Asian economy received roughly less than half as much foreign direct
investment as China did. Four years later, they pulled to within spitting distance. Why is there a
sudden surge of international interest in this particular region? It is because ASEAN s five core
countries Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand have been growing faster than any
other regional grouping in the world over the past 5 years, with Philippines standing out in particular
because of its impressive 6.6% economic growth rate as of 2012. The Philippines is now one of the
fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia, going from a developing market to what is considered
now as an emerging market in a global scale because of the competency of trade in the Philippines. To
properly define trade, it is a basic economic concept that involves multiple parties participating in the
voluntary negotiation and then the exchange of one s goods and services for desired goods and
services that someone else possesses (Trade, 2003). Trade has been occurring around the world for
centuries and the purpose of it is to address the problem of coincidence of wants. Generally, there are
two forms of trade: Foreign and Domestic Trade. Akrani (2011) states that foreign trade is the
exchange of goods and services between different countries. It is further divided into 3 groups:

Cause Concussions In Soccer
The game of soccer requires many crucial aspects to fully understand and control the game to where
you can shine your brightest, however, with the banning of heading the ball, it may delay your
progress. With the new US soccer guidelines on heading the soccer ball being banned from being
taught till the age of 14, it seems to be quite ridiculous. From being friends with many who play
soccer and to having entire family members coming from a background of play soccer and heading in
balls, it may come to be a shock. Many of the best soccer players in the world such as Cristiano
Ronaldo and Lionel Messi started playing at such a young age and went through the many mechanics
that go forth with soccer including heading which have contributed heavily towards their careers.
Though heading in soccer may cause concussions at certain times, it doesn t conclude the fact that a
significant amount of concussions are caused by the physicality of the sport. Soccer is a contact sport
which entails for a concussion to occur at a type of dynamic. I believe that heading in soccer should
not be banned due to the reasons of the physicality that is involved in soccer and as well as heading
not being the major indication of concussions during play and as well as chances of getting a
concussion through heading the ball. The world of soccer is an immense sport with millions of fans
and athletes that are all over the playing this interesting game, however, what if you take away

Quantitative Research. Essay
Statement 1
Proverbs 25:2 says, It is the glory of God to conseal things, but the glory of kings is to search things
out. Qualitative research focuses on deeper issues and asked the questions of how, when and why
people do things. Quantitative research behaves in a quantified since and assigns numerical values to
responses and measure statics. With this said Proverbs, the bible verse, supports that research methods
can be Godly. I interpret that verse as meaning that it is important to know and confirm in your mind
that you know something, but it is better to research the topic in a biblical since rather thas a secular or

Statement 2
Quantitative research methods are best because they use quantity data to obtain results from the
population of interest. This for example can be bases on what the majority feels. The method uses
measures in the view and opinion of others and who feels them the most or less. This method can be
chosen at random representing the population of interest. They collect their data by telephone
interviews, online questionnaires, and sometimes on the street. This is usually the final and best
method to go to when choosing a course of action. This is best to research something further and
usually comes after Qualitative research. 1 Chronicles 29:17 I know, my God, that you examine our

Hollow Men Imagery
This is an interesting work as it threw me in a loop trying to understand the imagery. His speaking of
Hollow Men create an imagery of scarecrows with straw in their hats. He speaks of hollow men who
are stuffed, seemingly contradicting himself in the first sentence until he mentions the hats filled with
straw. He seemingly speaks of scarecrows as they represent the human form but are lifeless, empty,
stuffed with hay. I am listening to the story these Hollow Men mean to tell me, they whisper so softly
the narrator compares it to wind in dry grass or rats feet scurrying along over broken glass. The next
part the Hollow Men describe themselves as shape without form, shade without color, paralyzed force,
gesture without motion. Each of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These others seem to acknowledge the Hollow Men as nothing more than scarecrows rather than what
they really are. I learn here that the hollow men are in fact spirits or lost, violent souls. Our Hollow
Men appear to have not crossed over, as if they re in limbo. Previously they are mentioned as
something yet nothing, meaning that these hollow men are just people who have lost their humanity or
the qualities that made them human. The Hollow Men are frightened to meet the gaze of the spirits
who cross as if they think they are beneath these others. Until the Hollow Man tells me that the
kingdom is unlike paradise, there is a tree swinging, and voices are in the wind s singing more distant
and more solemn than a fading star. He seems to have a fixation on eyes as if they are important as he
explains There, the eyes are Sunlight on a broken column . Now this imagery appeared to me as a
fractured incoherent mess as it said eyes were like sunlight cast onto a broken column, but I came to
the conclusion that the eyes see truth and truth can be mostly be compared to light as like light helps
you see and understand so does truth. These eyes see the Hollow Men for what they truly are and the
Hollow Men are terrified of the image they see. The Hollow Men live in an incomprehensible world
and are terrified of knowing how things truly are so they stay

Questions On The Motives Of Ministry
Section 3 The Motives of Ministry Lesson 1: Your Relationship with Jesus Christ Maintaining your
relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing you should hold onto. If you lose that, then it
is guaranteed that you will not be an effective minister. There is no way that you can operate under the
agape love and not know Jesus Christ for yourself. How can one explain the character of Jesus Christ
if you have not discovered them for yourself? Remain true to who God has called you to be. Ministry
does not begin with a love for people. It begins with a love for God and then that love overflows to the
children of God. If we minister to God s people only out of a humanistic love for people we will be
people pleasers rather ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you have ever been to a restaurant where they have a front cashier, like McDonalds or Wendy s, it is
the job of that front cashier to serve the customers as they enter into the building. If you are new and
just walk in from the streets, you will not be able to stand behind the counter and serve without
knowing the policy or the expectations from that company. For example, when going to Chick Fila,
for a while they were the only restaurant that will end their services with the statement, it was a
pleasure serving you or it was my pleasure . After leaving, I felt that I was not a burden to them or that
they enjoyed their job. So every time I go, I automatically expect to hear that phrase at the end. Now,
what if someone new walked in not knowing that was something they tell their customers. They could
change the entire atmosphere on how they serve and it would be noticed. Training, workshops,
meetings allow employees to stay up to date with the owner s policy. It allows them to remain in the
vision of the company. The same with you as a minister or preacher, you have to maintain your
relationship with God through prayer, fasting, studying and more in order to remain confident that you
are exactly where God wants you to be. Not only that, but to evaluate if you are becoming more of a
people pleaser or are you still a God pleaser . Don t feel bad if that is the case, because we have all

The Stuxnet Virus
The Stuxnet Virus
Abstract:
What diplomacy could not achieve, sanctions could not silent, and for which a military option was not
viable, a cyber attack quietly accomplished.
Kim Zetter an investigative reporter with Wired Magazine online calls Stuxnet, a piece of software
that would ultimately make history as the world s first real cyberweapon. (Zetter, 2011, sec. 1)
In his article, Is Stuxnet the best malware ever? Gregg Keizer of Computer World says:

or Israel, that Israeli intelligence tested aspects of the worm using centrifuges identical to Iran s at
Israel s Dimona complex. Even Siemens the German company cooperated with Idaho National
Laboratories in the US to identify the vulnerabilities of computer controllers that the company sells to
operate industrial machinery around the world. Not too long afterwards, those very vulnerabilities
were exploited by Stuxnet.
2. Why a Cyber Attack?
Cyber warfare requires intellect not military might and a country does not have to be a military
superpower to wage a cyber attack. Cyber attack tracks are much easier to cover and are easily
attributable to another entity. While cyber attacks are only recently been declared by our military and
political leadership as acts of war, compared to an actual physical military attack on another country
life can go on as usual for most of the citizens on both sides of the conflict without the slightest idea
that their country is at war. It does not cost billions of dollars to run or manage and is hardly a long
term commitment of hundreds of thousands of troops and the logistics to support them and their
equipment at the front lines. In case of Iran, a cyber attack was the most viable option available to
global powers because the Iranian regime did not hesitate to make threats against the United States
and Israel should it have been attacked militarily to make it stop trying to produce nuclear

reside in our community s assisted living facility, and for their desire to impact the residents, their
families and over time the community at large with the love of Jesus Christ. We appreciate the
confidence and support bestowed upon us in designing a ministry plan to care for both member and

volunteered to visit on a regular basis to walk outside with residents, and continue their walks and
friendships inside in inclement weather.
3. The strength trainer at our church has volunteered to teach and assist residents in their use of
weights and then lead a time of weight training on an ongoing basis as a part of this ministry. He will
also train other members to assist and lead in this area of ministry. Included with his strength training
he plans to talk about the strength found in Jesus Christ.
4. A dance instructor at our church has volunteered to do flexibility training along with teaching line
dancing, even with a wheel chair section, and then hold dances every other month.
Conclusion
The improvements in offerings related to the area of exercise fulfill the ministry purpose of helping
residents have a better quality of life, and the overall purpose of encouraging them through an
expression of God s love while pointing people to the hope found in Jesus Christ.

Fort Lauderdale s Plastic And Reconstructive Surgeon
Fort Lauderdale s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. John Michael Thomassen can use chin
implants to increase the size of the chin or he can reduce the size and/or projection of a patient s chin
with a chin reduction surgery. With both of these procedures, Dr. Thomassen provides his patients
with a natural looking chin that is more proportionate to his or her other facial features.
The Chin Plays an Important Role in the Proportions of the Face
The chin greatly affects the overall appearance of the face; furthermore, the chin also plays an
important role in the way the patient s facial profile looks. For example, a chin that is proportionately
too small for the other features of the face can cause the size of the nose and forehead to be
exaggerated. Dr. John Michael Thomassen offers chin augmentation procedures with and without chin
implants to the men and women of Fort Lauderdale, and its surrounding communities.
Chin Implants Are Used in Fort Lauderdale to Address a Weak Chin
Dr. Thomassen frequently performs chin augmentation procedures using chin implants to correct a
chin that is lacking adequate projection. This chin characteristic is referred to as a weak chin. When a
patient has a weak chin, his or her nose and forehead appear larger than they truly are.
Chin Implant Surgery Can Be Combined with Other Plastic Surgery Procedures
Just as with nose reshaping surgery, a chin augmentation procedure with a chin implant can make

Miss Strangeworth Quotes
People aren t always who they seem to be. In The Possibility of Evil, by Shirley Jackson, this idea is
explored in story form. One character, Miss Strangeworth, is the literary representation of this idea;
She is polite and nice in person, but at the same time, she anonymously writes hurtful letters that
spread false rumors to the whole town.
Firstly, Miss Strangeworth s character can be analyzed by considering what she says and does. She is,
without a shadow of a doubt, incredibly conceited. She believes she is above everyone else, and she
thinks she is more important that she actually is. This is evidenced by the following quote: ...And she
sometimes found herself thinking the town belonged to her. How could someone think an entire town
belongs to them without being conceited? Additionally, she is fairly judgemental to others. Evidence
being the following quote: Miss Strangeworth hated sloppiness. For reference, Miss Strangeworth was
speaking about a clearly distressed woman whose hair was slightly disheveled. Who could judge
others so quickly without being conceited? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

believing that the entire town belongs to her, she refuses to let anything go, even something as small
as a rose: Miss Strangeworth never gave away any of her roses, although the tourists often asked her.
She simply couldn t stand the idea of anything from her town being brought the outside world. The
thought of her roses being brought out of her town to far away places disturbed her, and she refused to
allow it. Considering the above, she can be described as both innocent and

British Imperialism in India Essay
Englishmen.. have given the people of India the greatest human blessing peace. (Dutt). Merely coming
to India in the 1600s to trade, the British East India Company established trading outposts. After
ridding of French influence in India during the Seven Years War and having Indians mutiny against
British rule, Britain gained full control of India. India has been under the imperialist control of the
British until their independence in 1947. British imperialism caused some negative effects on India
through poverty and persecution, but retained more of a positive impact due to its massive
improvements in the modernization of India and the overall improvement of Indian civilization.
Despite impacting India very positively, imperialism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another way modernization is illustrated in India is through agriculture and industry, notwithstanding
the effects it had on Indians. Industry guided India to a much stronger economy, arguably guiding
them to holding a spot in the top ten economies in the world (O.I). Irrigation cultivated approximately
30 million acres, awarding the country great agricultural wealth. Along with wealth also came a
disappearance of the famines in India. Collectively, the country of India as a whole benefited from this
modernization as it set a higher standard of living for the population. As India s modernization
developed, the entire civilization of India improved remarkably. The country s improvement of
civilization is exemplified through it s establishment of schools and law. Western education was
introduced by Britain and laws were well made with courts that enforce them. (Doc 3). One should
take into account the speaker of this document because Romesh Dutt is an Indian like any other, yet he
praises the British for what they have done to contribute to the development of India. In addition to
these establishments is Britain bringing finer ideals of humanity to India. Infanticide, the killing of
female babies, was brought to a halt as well as participation in the slave trade (Doc 5). Without the
interference of Britain, these inhumane actions would be prevalent throughout India and the country
would suffer from a bad reputation. These

The Taming Of The Shrew By William Shakespeare
Many women do not like being controlled. In the past, women were oppressed because they were not
allowed to work and control aspects of their lifestyle, such as working themselves, rather they were
forced to marry and depend on their spouses. William Shakespeare chose to present this concept
through Katherina s character in the play The Taming of The Shrew. Throughout the play, Katherina is
seems to be untamable due to the manner in which she is first introduced, her attitude changes too
abruptly for it to be convincing, and that she is either putting on an act or she s just scared. In the first
scene when Katherina was introduced, it was made clear that she is not a submissive person; she is in
fact very abrasive. In the Elizabethan era, it is custom that if a family had two daughters the one that is
older would have to marry first. In this story, several men want to marry Katherina however she does
not want to be wed. During their first interaction with Katherina, her suitors are instantly aware of her
temper. Katherina then tells her father she does not want to be embarrassed in front of the men.
Hortensio makes a comment about her temper which Katherina responds to with I faith, sir, you shall
never need to fear. I wis it is not halfway to her heart (1.1.62 63). This shows that Katherina does not
have any intention of marrying any of the men interested in her. Katherina s decision not only affects
her, but her sister Bianca. Bianca is not able to marry anyone

Qualitative Interview Essay
Ahead of our call, here is an outline of our initial thinking on themes and issues to explore in the
qualitative interviews. This is based on our thinking to date about the aims the project and our reading
of your existing research.
It would be useful to get your take on the ideas, and then we can turn these into a discussion guide for
the interviews.
Overall thoughts
It is worth flagging a few overall points and observations:
 This research needs to balance your larger, company wide goal overcoming negativity toward for
profit companies working in the education field with dynamics present in your local, target areas.
 Pearson s existing research covers many motifs and values, from the importance of digital learning
to how Pearson s scale can be leveraged to strengthen its brand. In this research, we should attempt to
tease out which of these concepts work or has been changed given recent political events, like Brexit.
 We are conscious of how recent events, like the Every Student Achieves acts or presidential
campaign, might impact perceptions in the current education field for the foreseeable future. We will
need to understand these current perceptions, as well as future and past views about the role of for
profits in education.
 We need to ensure a number of questions can replicated across our different research instruments
and targets, to quantify them and allow for more holistic analysis.

Immigration And The Immigration Act Of 1903
Introduction Immigration to the US has always been a complex phenomenon involving the
development of different people from different nations, cultures, and has added to the United State s
rich history. Immigration has brought both benefits and consequences to the United States in forms of
economic stability and opportunity, mass settlements of foreign peoples, but also culture clash all
resulting in the US attempt to curb immigration with the passing of several legislations. Many
attempts to curb immigration were taken by US Congress with the passing of the Chinese Exclusion
Act in 1882, and the Immigration Act of 1903; all used to insure specific laws and boundaries set on
immigrants. Heavy resentment against immigrants in the US pushed Congress for limitations that
brought many tensions against races like the Irish and Chinese. To capture the true essence of
immigration and its responses by the State, one must make a critical effort in analyzing the historical
patterns of migration to the New World, including the United States. It begins with colonial America
when large populations of people, mainly English, French, German, and Spanish migrated to America
with a deliberate intent to exploit the people, land, and resulting in the creation of caste system of
subjugation. This first set of immigrants to America would be later considered as Old Immigrants,
being differentiated from New Immigrants that would later come in time. As a result of the conquest
of Mexico,

Health Disparities Essay
There are three categories that summarize health disparities in the U.S. The first is disparities that have
a social or economic cause rather than a biological cause. An example of this would be that the death
rates of black American men are 26 percent higher than that of white men. Also, the death rates of
black American woman are 19 percent higher than that of white women. An explanation for this is
because blacks have a lower socioeconomic status than white. The reason for this is because blacks
are more likely than white to never graduate high school, or graduate high school but not go to college
(Barr, 43). Therefore, those with low socioeconomic status can t afford to go to the doctor which
results in a health disparity. The second category

Aaron Feuerstein A Socially Responsible Owner
The evening of December 11, 1995, was a special time for Aaron Feuerstein, CEO of Malden Mills. A
small surprise 70th birthday party quietly was held in his honor at a local Boston restaurant. But
Feuerstein s life took a dramatic turn that evening for a different reason: A boiler at his company s
plant exploded, setting off a fire that injured 33employees and destroyed three of the factory s century
old buildings. Malden Mills was a privately owned firm, with Feuerstein owning a majority share. The
firm was located in a small Massachusetts town, Methuen, and employed nearly 3,000 people in the
economically depressed area. The fire was a devastating blow for the community. According ... Show

The Bank of Boston donated $50,000, the company s union sent $100,000, and the Chamber of

customers promised to stick with the company and wait for them to rebuild and regain their
production capacity rather than switch to a competitor.
Just eight months after the fire, three of the four production lines at Malden Mills were fully
operational and all but 500 of the nearly 2,400 employees were back to work in the factory. But
unexpected downturns in the apparel industry challenged the wisdom of Feuerstein s actions. By 1998,
employees at Malden Mills experienced steady layoffs and the firm acquired $120 million in debt.
Under the leadership of new chief operating officer Gerald Bowe, following the values of the
company s founder, Malden Mills experienced a turnaround in 1999. Hourly employee recalls
numbered 1,500, bringing the total number of employees back to the level at the time of fire.
Government and overseas contracts countered the decline in sales in the competitive domestic market,
and Malden Mills appeared to be recovering from its financial setbacks as the firm entered the twenty
first century. Aaron Feuerstein s commitment to both the company s economic and social mission and
goals appeared to have emerged from ashes intact.

The Natural Disasters Of The United States
While I have listed many natural disasters that one would need to prepare for, what about the
government failing. Many citizens feel that the government is encroaching on our fundamental rights
as Americans. Take for example Jade Helm 15, a military training exercise. While the government is
telling us it s just an exercise so that the everyday citizen can get used to the presence of military in
their neighborhoods and in their towns, is that really what s going on? Or is this just another ploy to
have the government take over the American citizens and it turn into another Hitler debacle? Some
groups suggest that this is a ruse to implement Martial Law on the citizens. On the other hand though
there has been a lot of small terrorist attacks on military bases lately so having the presence of military
in the communities might just be a preemptive measure of what s to come. The cause of the
underlying concerns is that we see instances, like a shooting in Fort Hood by a terrorist, that the
President labels workplace violence. We see the President come to the border in Texas and say it s
safer than it s ever been, Abbott told Austin based NBC affiliate KXAN TV. And so I think it was a
misplaced perception by people in Texas who have problems with the Obama administration and
connected that trust with the Obama administration to the military (Viser). This should be a concern of
American. We should be preparing for government fall out, or even something that is happening

Eros Creation Story
Before everything, there was nothing. It was nothing, yet it was something. A void filled of colour
unimaginable, and smoky mists. This void was called Chaos.
As empty as the Chaos was, it was unexpectedly still inhabited. Inhabited by creatures with an entire
body as bright as snow, and horns that twisted and curled into elegant spirals. They had nimble legs as
long as evergreen trees, and hooves as reflective as silver. These creatures had no name, and not a
single soul is quite sure where they came from. These mystical creatures seemed to have only one
purpose, which was walking. Every second of their lives, they grazed in herds across the Chaos in
straight lines, with no plain goal in sight.
But one day, something peculiar happened. After thousands of steps, the creatures abruptly stopped
their trek; as if time itself had stopped. They stood there for many days, even weeks, waiting. And
when it seemed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being the divine being of love, she had a warm aura, which tingled the remaining creatures peculiarly.
Eros tingling of love morphed the creatures, into animals with backs of gorgeous white fleece, and
smaller legs. Not only that, but it additionally gave them slight tints of black across their body, giving
them a unique patchy look. These creatures became known as sheep, and to this day they graze across
the fields of Earth, fulfilling their old purpose.
Lastly, the final creature altered into Erebus, the troublesome god of darkness. Erebus, seeing all this
new beauty and perfection from the gods, instantly understood his rogue purpose. When Gaia and
Eros finished with the creation of life and Earth, he gave a mischievous smile, and snapped his
fingers. The moment his fingers collided, big chunks of pitch black opal spiralled, and dug itself a
hole deep into the Earth. This pit became Tartarus, the prison for the eternally punished, and the
Afterlife, the place for souls after

union and the numerous problems that the enlargement brings to the other European states, taking into
account the major changes that the monetary union bring. The literature review closes with the
question: how big the European integration should be, as well as the numerous critical appraisals and
the solutions that different authors propose. In order to demonstrate and give an overview of the
research made regarding of the EU enlargement.
In carrying out the review books, journals and websites were consulted. The sources were
pronominally post 2006.
The European Union is a regional integration, born to aggregate the countries survived from the
Second World War and to promote productivity and economic growth. Moreover, to contribute to
defeat the social and financial inequalities between the European countries. It is important to make a
distinction about the reasons that leaded the European Union to enlarge. David Long (2000)
recognises that the EU has expanded numerous times

Guilt, Suffering, Confession and Redemption in Crime and Punishment
You keep lying! screamed Raskolnikov, no longer able to restrain himself. You re lying, you damned
clown! And he flung himself on Porfiry, who retired to the doorway, but without a trace of panic. I
understand everything, everything! He approached Porfiry. You re lying and taunting me so Ill give
myself away You can t give yourself away any more than you have already, Rodion Romanovich, old
man. Why, you ve gone into a state. Don t shout, I ll call my men, sir! (Dostoyevsky, 34)

Both of them had experienced sufferings beyond what one can imagine. Dostoyevsky felt that
suffering gives one the chance of puri6cation and transformation. Through his many ordeals of
suffering, ranging from the near death of his sick children or his epileptic seizures, to his early
imprisonment and exile to Siberia, Dostoyevsky felt that he eventually reached the point of happiness
The way of salvation is the way of suffering could often be heard mumbled from Dostoyevsky s
mouth. For these reasons, critics believe that Raskolnikov may have been a direct symbol of
Dostoyevsky and his suffering. (Kjetsaa, 346 349)
Dostoyevsky most likely modeled Crime and Punishment after his own experiences. Since the two
men s lives had striking similarities, many people believed that was evidence to prove their thinking.
As Raskolnikov was overcome with tremendous suffering, sent to Siberia, and fell madly in love with
a beautiful woman; so did Dostoyevsky within his lifetime. I do believe that the character
(Raskolnikov) was the epitome of Dostoyevsky s life. (Timoney)
Nightmares
Even when Raskolnikov was asleep he received painful messages of others who were suffering, just as
he was. In one particular instance, before the double murder, Raskolnikov is brought back to the
poverty he suffered throughout his childhood. He once again feels a great empathy toward the
suffered, but this time

VITA Reflective Essay
My experience from VITA was different from what I had expected. Initially, I did not know what was
expected from me. It seemed that everything was structured and we had to follow a myriad amount of
rules, but the first day of VITA proved everything wrong. Working with clients, experiencing realistic
situations, is what essentially taught me how to do a successful tax return.
One huge impact I learned instantly is how you communicate with your client. I had to strengthen my
communication skills because I needed to communicate with my clients in vocabulary that I knew
they would understand. Communicating with a fellow peer, who is knowledgeable about taxes, is a
different situation that of when you are speaking with a client. A client most likely doesn t know the
exact, in depth details about taxes, which can lead to complications and confusion, so I had to adjust
my lexicon to fit the clients needs and understanding. Also, working with partners was great. It gave
me an opportunity to work with others and solve problems in a group. Sometimes, when one of us
didn t know the answer, the other one would step in and help. Also, I felt like the class was a gigantic
supportive group because we would ask and answer each other questions, when we a confused about a
topic or area. I am glad that I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sometimes, I felt uncomfortable because I felt subpar because I was not experienced to help clients. I
didn t want the clients to think that I was incompetent or I did not know how to do their tax return.
This experience really captured Cal Poly s motto, Learn by Doing. All the clients that I worked with
understood that I was just a student. Most of the time, they were fascinated we chose to do accounting
because taxes seem revolting to them. Creating a proper relationship was what mattered, because at
the end of the session with the client, they were thankful and grateful that I was here to help, pleasing
me

Private Equity investment market has been the fastest growing market in the past 15 years for corporate finance, compared to other markets such as the public equity and bond markets. George (1996) wrote a book called ?The economics of the private equity market that examines the reasons for the market s unpredictable growth over the past fifteen years and highlights the key features of that growth. It examines the economic basis of the private equity market, analyzes the market s current role and development in corporate finance, and describes the market s institutional structure. However despite its rapid growth and increased significant for corporate finance, it has received little attention in the academic literature or press. Joshua Lerner, 1994 wrote a book called ?The Syndication of Venture Capital Investments in which he said that Between 1980 and 1994, the amount of private equity outstanding rose from less than $5 billion to $100 billion. • 3. The Spiritual and Physical Dimensions in The Birthmark Essay The Spiritual and Physical Dimensions in The Birthmark Fred Allen Wolf notes in Taking the Quantum Leap that it was not until the 20th century that scientists realized that to observe is to disturb, for observation breaks the wholeness of nature. If observing disturbs, then when a scientist tampers and tries to perfect nature the result can only be disastrous. The goal of most scientists is to observe and understand the mysteries of nature. Nathaniel Hawthorne realized that the scientists of the 19th century were beginning to challenge the traditional views of science and man. The traditional view of man holds that man is both material and spiritual. Advancements in science led some scientists to begin to think that man was only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is evidenced when the narrator makes reference to the fact that Aylmer had studied the wonders of the human frame, and attempted to fathom the very process by which Nature assimilates all her precious influences from earth and air, (2). Aylmer did not want to accept the reality that there was a mystery of life that was beyond our understanding and ability to manipulate. According to the narrator, Aylmer had long laid aside in unwilling recognition of the truth that our great creative Mother, while she amuses us with apparently working in the broadest sunshine, is careful to keep her own secrets, (2). He laid aside the reality of the real spiritual world that lies beyond the grasp of man because he was unwilling to face his own limitations as a man and scientist. As he embarked on his plan to perfect Georgiana, he continued to lay aside the truth because the truth lay in the path of his proposed scheme for the treatment of Georgiana, (2). William E. Grant comments that Aylmer is the archetype for all Hawthorne s scientists, since he represents both what is best and what is worst about all of them, (3). His goal was honorable, that is to rid Georgiana of her defect, his denial of the truth, that his abilities were in fact limited, was his downfall. It isn t till later, that we see a glimpse that he has begun to recognize his limitations as he faces the reality of a real and powerful spiritual world. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Hicks And The Is Lm Curve Dan Hill AAEC 8210 December 1st, 2015 Hicks and the IS LM Curve While J.R. Hicks received the Nobel Prize for many of his accomplishments in both macroeconomic and microeconomic research, his development of what he then called the SI LL model, but is now more famously known as the IS LM model, was one of his greatest feats. The IS LM model was Hicks reduction of aggregate demand analysis done by John Maynard Keynes in his book titled The General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money published in 1936. The model s purpose was to explain investor decisions dependent on money availability and interest rates in the goods and services market and assets market. The IS LM model now plays an integral role in both general macroeconomic understanding and policy analysis. IS LM stands for investment savings and liquidity money, and can be represented graphically by a downward sloping curve for IS and an upward sloping curve for LM. In the IS curve, anywhere along the curve represents a point where interest rate and income satisfy that total spending equals the economy s total output (real income). Total spending/demand is determined by adding together consumer expenditure, investment, government expenditure, and net exports (investment being the only endogenous variable among the four). In this equation, the assumptions are that; consumer spending is increasing with more disposable income, investment is increasing as interest rates increase, and exports are increasing with ... Fair Value vs Historic Cost Review of Business Information Systems First Quarter 2013 Volume 17, Number 1 Fair Value Accounting vs. Historical Cost Accounting Paul Jaijairam, Bronx Community College, City University of New York, USA ABSTRACT This paper reviews fair value accounting method relative to historical cost accounting. Although both methods are widely used by entities in computing their income and financial positions, there is controversy over superiority. Historical cost accounting reports assets and liabilities at the initial price they were exchanged for at the time of the transaction. Conversely, fair value accounting quotes the prevailing price in the market. Nevertheless, while both methods of accounting affect financial statements, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Determining the true market value of an asset is sometimes controversial, especially for assets that do not have active and liquid markets. By definition, the fair value does not need the existence of an active market. In case of market inexistence, IASB offers guideline that looks at the type of assets or liabilities. For instance, for property, plant and equipment, depreciated replacement cost is recommended if market based evidence is unascertainable. For biological assets (animals and plants), IASB suggest the use of discounted present values of future cash flows (Weetman, 2011). Later, FASB introduced FASB ASC 820 Fair Value Measurements and Disclosures (SFAS 157) (Zyla, 2010). The main aim of this statement is to offer additional guidance and information on issues that relate to fair value and its measurement. FASB ASC 820 Fair Value Measurements, in technical terms, does not bring in any new accounting principle rather it provides financial analysts and auditors with additional information on how the FASB intends fair value to be measure in any instance it is required in financial reporting (Zyla, 2010). The FAS 159 the Fair Value Option(FVO) on Financial Assets and Financial Liabilities brings in the fair value option that a company may use in their first and successive measurements of their particular financial liabilities and ... Women were expected to be confined to the home in order to take care of the children and do the required chores, while the man of the house was granted the luxury of experiencing the world by working to provide for the family. Women were long considered naturally weaker than men, squeamish, and unable to perform work requiring muscular or intellectual development. Due to the fact that women are already disadvantaged when it comes to education, a stride needs to be made when focusing on career education. • 16. Rhetorical Analysis Of The Clock Shadows And Dark... Aristotelian mimesis dictates that the art produced by our culture and society is an imitation of our reality. If so, then our contemporary entertainment era overstocked in brooding, morally ambiguous anti heroes bearing five o clock shadows and dark and gritty narratives are a reflection of the flawed and unrelenting modern day reality that we inhabit. This age of morally gray storytelling is a stark contrast to the idealistic depictions of American society and traditional family values found throughout various 1950s television (Museum of Broadcast Communications). The force behind this shift from a rather jubilant, dreamlike state of Cold War era media, to the grim and cynical state of present day film, television, and music can thus be interpreted by some romanticists with a longing for the good ol days as a decline of virtues and goodness in American society. However, the goodness of America found in 1950s media was hardly a true reflection of reality. Through the further development of mass media and communications in the following decades, however, American audiences were then able to see passed the goodness from the shelter of their own homes (Murray). It is because ASEAN s five core countries Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand have been growing faster than any other regional grouping in the world over the past 5 years, with Philippines standing out in particular because of its impressive 6.6% economic growth rate as of 2012. The Philippines is now one of the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia, going from a developing market to what is considered now as an emerging market in a global scale because of the competency of trade in the Philippines. To properly define trade, it is a basic economic concept that involves multiple parties participating in the voluntary negotiation and then the exchange of one s goods and services for desired goods and services that someone else possesses (Trade, 2003). Trade has been occurring around the world for centuries and the purpose of it is to address the problem of coincidence of wants. Generally, there are two forms of trade: Foreign and Domestic Trade. He speaks of hollow men who are stuffed, seemingly contradicting himself in the first sentence until he mentions the hats filled with straw. He seemingly speaks of scarecrows as they represent the human form but are lifeless, empty, stuffed with hay. I am listening to the story these Hollow Men mean to tell me, they whisper so softly the narrator compares it to wind in dry grass or rats feet scurrying along over broken glass. Previously they are mentioned as something yet nothing, meaning that these hollow men are just people who have lost their humanity or the qualities that made them human. The Hollow Men are frightened to meet the gaze of the spirits who cross as if they think they are beneath these others. Until the Hollow Man tells me that the kingdom is unlike paradise, there is a tree swinging, and voices are in the wind s singing more distant and more solemn than a fading star. He seems to have a fixation on eyes as if they are important as he explains There, the eyes are Sunlight on a broken column . Questions On The Motives Of Ministry Section 3 The Motives of Ministry Lesson 1: Your Relationship with Jesus Christ Maintaining your relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing you should hold onto. If you lose that, then it is guaranteed that you will not be an effective minister. There is no way that you can operate under the agape love and not know Jesus Christ for yourself. How can one explain the character of Jesus Christ if you have not discovered them for yourself? Remain true to who God has called you to be. Ministry does not begin with a love for people. For example, when going to Chick Fila, for a while they were the only restaurant that will end their services with the statement, it was a pleasure serving you or it was my pleasure . After leaving, I felt that I was not a burden to them or that they enjoyed their job. So every time I go, I automatically expect to hear that phrase at the end. Cyber warfare requires intellect not military might and a country does not have to be a military superpower to wage a cyber attack. Cyber attack tracks are much easier to cover and are easily attributable to another entity. While cyber attacks are only recently been declared by our military and political leadership as acts of war, compared to an actual physical military attack on another country life can go on as usual for most of the citizens on both sides of the conflict without the slightest idea that their country is at war. It does not cost billions of dollars to run or manage and is hardly a long term commitment of hundreds of thousands of troops and the logistics to support them and their equipment at the front lines. One character, Miss Strangeworth, is the literary representation of this idea; She is polite and nice in person, but at the same time, she anonymously writes hurtful letters that spread false rumors to the whole town. Firstly, Miss Strangeworth s character can be analyzed by considering what she says and does. She is, without a shadow of a doubt, incredibly conceited. She believes she is above everyone else, and she thinks she is more important that she actually is. This is evidenced by the following quote: ...And she sometimes found herself thinking the town belonged to her. How could someone think an entire town belongs to them without being conceited? Another way modernization is illustrated in India is through agriculture and industry, notwithstanding the effects it had on Indians. Industry guided India to a much stronger economy, arguably guiding them to holding a spot in the top ten economies in the world (O.I). Irrigation cultivated approximately 30 million acres, awarding the country great agricultural wealth. Along with wealth also came a disappearance of the famines in India. Collectively, the country of India as a whole benefited from this modernization as it set a higher standard of living for the population. As India s modernization developed, the entire civilization of India improved remarkably. The country s improvement of civilization is exemplified through it s establishment of schools and law. Western education was introduced by Britain and laws were well made with courts that enforce them. (Doc 3). • 30. The Taming Of The Shrew By William Shakespeare Many women do not like being controlled. In the past, women were oppressed because they were not allowed to work and control aspects of their lifestyle, such as working themselves, rather they were forced to marry and depend on their spouses. William Shakespeare chose to present this concept through Katherina s character in the play The Taming of The Shrew. Throughout the play, Katherina is seems to be untamable due to the manner in which she is first introduced, her attitude changes too abruptly for it to be convincing, and that she is either putting on an act or she s just scared. In the first scene when Katherina was introduced, it was made clear that she is not a submissive person; she is in fact very abrasive. In the Elizabethan era, it is custom that if a family had two daughters the one that is older would have to marry first. In this story, several men want to marry Katherina however she does not want to be wed. During their first interaction with Katherina, her suitors are instantly aware of her temper. Katherina then tells her father she does not want to be embarrassed in front of the men. Hortensio makes a comment about her temper which Katherina responds to with I faith, sir, you shall never need to fear. I wis it is not halfway to her heart (1.1.62 63). Immigration And The Immigration Act Of 1903 Introduction Immigration to the US has always been a complex phenomenon involving the development of different people from different nations, cultures, and has added to the United State s rich history. Immigration has brought both benefits and consequences to the United States in forms of economic stability and opportunity, mass settlements of foreign peoples, but also culture clash all resulting in the US attempt to curb immigration with the passing of several legislations. Many attempts to curb immigration were taken by US Congress with the passing of the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1882, and the Immigration Act of 1903; all used to insure specific laws and boundaries set on immigrants. Heavy resentment against immigrants in the US pushed Congress for limitations that brought many tensions against races like the Irish and Chinese. To capture the true essence of immigration and its responses by the State, one must make a critical effort in analyzing the historical patterns of migration to the New World, including the United States. It begins with colonial America when large populations of people, mainly English, French, German, and Spanish migrated to America with a deliberate intent to exploit the people, land, and resulting in the creation of caste system of subjugation. Also, the death rates of black American woman are 19 percent higher than that of white women. An explanation for this is because blacks have a lower socioeconomic status than white. • 40. The Natural Disasters Of The United States While I have listed many natural disasters that one would need to prepare for, what about the government failing. Many citizens feel that the government is encroaching on our fundamental rights as Americans. Take for example Jade Helm 15, a military training exercise. While the government is telling us it s just an exercise so that the everyday citizen can get used to the presence of military in their neighborhoods and in their towns, is that really what s going on? Or is this just another ploy to have the government take over the American citizens and it turn into another Hitler debacle? Some groups suggest that this is a ruse to implement Martial Law on the citizens. On the other hand though there has been a lot of small terrorist attacks on military bases lately so having the presence of military in the communities might just be a preemptive measure of what s to come. The cause of the underlying concerns is that we see instances, like a shooting in Fort Hood by a terrorist, that the President labels workplace violence. We see the President come to the border in Texas and say it s safer than it s ever been, Abbott told Austin based NBC affiliate KXAN TV. And so I think it was a misplaced perception by people in Texas who have problems with the Obama administration and connected that trust with the Obama administration to the military (Viser). This should be a concern of American. We should be preparing for government fall out, or even something that is happening ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Eros Creation Story Before everything, there was nothing. It was nothing, yet it was something. A void filled of colour unimaginable, and smoky mists. This void was called Chaos. As empty as the Chaos was, it was unexpectedly still inhabited. Inhabited by creatures with an entire body as bright as snow, and horns that twisted and curled into elegant spirals. They had nimble legs as long as evergreen trees, and hooves as reflective as silver. These creatures had no name, and not a single soul is quite sure where they came from. These mystical creatures seemed to have only one purpose, which was walking. Every second of their lives, they grazed in herds across the Chaos in straight lines, with no plain goal in sight. But one day, something peculiar happened. After thousands of steps, the creatures abruptly stopped their trek; as if time itself had stopped. They stood there for many days, even weeks, waiting. Eros tingling of love morphed the creatures, into animals with backs of gorgeous white fleece, and smaller legs. Not only that, but it additionally gave them slight tints of black across their body, giving them a unique patchy look. These creatures became known as sheep, and to this day they graze across the fields of Earth, fulfilling their old purpose. Lastly, the final creature altered into Erebus, the troublesome god of darkness. Erebus, seeing all this new beauty and perfection from the gods, instantly understood his rogue purpose. When Gaia and Eros finished with the creation of life and Earth, he gave a mischievous smile, and snapped his fingers. The moment his fingers collided, big chunks of pitch black opal spiralled, and dug itself a hole deep into the Earth. This pit became Tartarus, the prison for the eternally punished, and the Afterlife, the place for souls after ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Guilt, Suffering, Confession and Redemption in Crime and Punishment You keep lying! screamed Raskolnikov, no longer able to restrain himself. You re lying, you damned clown! Through his many ordeals of suffering, ranging from the near death of his sick children or his epileptic seizures, to his early imprisonment and exile to Siberia, Dostoyevsky felt that he eventually reached the point of happiness The way of salvation is the way of suffering could often be heard mumbled from Dostoyevsky s mouth. • 45. VITA Reflective Essay My experience from VITA was different from what I had expected. Initially, I did not know what was expected from me. It seemed that everything was structured and we had to follow a myriad amount of rules, but the first day of VITA proved everything wrong. Working with clients, experiencing realistic situations, is what essentially taught me how to do a successful tax return. One huge impact I learned instantly is how you communicate with your client. I had to strengthen my communication skills because I needed to communicate with my clients in vocabulary that I knew they would understand. Communicating with a fellow peer, who is knowledgeable about taxes, is a different situation that of when you are speaking with a client. A client most likely doesn t know the exact, in depth details about taxes, which can lead to complications and confusion, so I had to adjust my lexicon to fit the clients needs and understanding. Also, working with partners was great. It gave me an opportunity to work with others and solve problems in a group. Sometimes, when one of us didn t know the answer, the other one would step in and help. Also, I felt like the class was a gigantic supportive group because we would ask and answer each other questions, when we a confused about a topic or area. I am glad that I ...
