Yoga Research Paper
Yoga
1.1 Introduction
The word Yoga (/ˈjoʊɡə/) in Sanskrit means to bind, to join, to yoke as well as union, communion.
Traditionally it is a spiritual, mental as well as a physical practice or discipline which originated in
India. In the west yoga is often perceived and taught as a pure physical training.
It thus means the yoking of all the powers of the body, mind and soul to God; it means the disciplining
of the intellect, the mind, the emotions, the will, which that Yoga presupposes; it means a poise of the
soul which enables one to look at life in all its aspects.
(Mahadev Desai, The Gita according to Ghandi, Light on yoga, page 1)

1.2 Asanas
Asana practice and yoga practice are not one and the same. Asana is but one part of what yoga is
about. (see 1.1 introduction).
Asana practice covers the main task of hatha yoga (see 1.3 different approaches to yoga) and is the
third part of Patañjali s eight steps to attain the highest state of consciousness.
Traditionally āsana means sitting condition or posture , it contributes to the steadiness of the body and
the mind and to a sense of well being. The term posture does not fully cover the meaning of āsana
though. In a posture the state of mind is not of importance. Postures are created and held below the
level of consciousness. e.g.: involuntary lifting of the shoulders while under stress, although the
person is sitting quite comfortably in a chair.
Asana is acquired voluntarily. A thought process is avoided, one is supposed to concentrate on the
breathing or the universe while maintaining the āsana. In āsanas exercises the muscles, joints and
nerves while being maintained in a steady manner. When āsanas are done accordingly, the eyes are
closed or looking to the ground and the facial muscles are relaxed which contributes to

Different Training Methods Are Affective
Some of the different training methods are affective in there own way, but can they be used for
continuing employees? One of the great perks of having the business simulation is that it can be used
for all employees, new and seasoned, to be able to develop further knowledge. With simulations they
do not all have to be complex, like having all the business processes of the organization. The
simulation could simply have specific skills related to them. These concepts could include
communication, feedback, leadership and team skills, problem solving, decision making, managing
resources, budgeting, and the list continues. Essentially every department can have its own business
simulation game to learn the processes necessary. This allows the company to move individuals
internally and allow for growth within the company. Say they have an individual who has been doing
accounting for the company and want to promote them to finance manger, they can use a business
simulation game to have them better understand the tasks they will be performing as a finance
manager before having them go into it blind. Another example could be that the company has noticed
there is some lack of communication going on between the manager and his employees. The simulator
could enhance the mangers understanding of how to communicate stronger, which can improve the
satisfaction of employees. Being able to take the simulation and adjust it to the necessary processes
that the company is looking to use for

Reasons for increase in the costs of HD in the past 10 years: The cost of dialyzers for HD ranges from
$1000 to $5000 per year. Other items that factor into the cost of HD are additional facility costs such
as maintenance and utilities, and the costs of transportation to and from the HD facility. Additional
costs associated with dialysis are physician fees, medications, laboratory and other diagnostic
investigations and hospitalizations. Hospitalization costs contribute substantially to total expenditures
for dialysis patients Room costs and in patient dialysis costs account for nearly half of the cost of
hospitalizations for dialysis patients. Some evidence suggests that hospitalization costs are lower for

One factor to consider in reviewing the economic assessments of dialysis modalities is the perspective
taken for the analysis. Relevant perspectives include patient, dialysis facility or provider, physician,
payer, dialysis manufacturing industry, government and society as a whole. The costs to payers,
facilities and physicians are most likely to affect practice patterns such as modality selection. Costs to
society and patients or families are less likely to influence practices
Costs are generally described in four categories: direct medical costs, direct non medical costs,
indirect costs and intangible costs. Direct medical costs of dialysis include staffing costs, physician
fees or salary, costs of dialyzers and tubing in HD, costs of solutions and tubing in PD, costs
associated with radiology, laboratory and medications, capital costs of HD machines and PD cyclers,
costs of hospitalizations and costs of outpatient consultations from other specialties. Direct non
medical costs may vary widely in different parts of the world but tend to be highest in more developed
economies. Direct non medical costs include building costs, facility utilities and other overhead costs.

Persuasive Essay About Animator
Introduction Animations, cartoons and movies we watch every day. Ever since I was little I have loved
to watch these collections of pictures move across a screen, all the work that has gone into making the
wonderful piece of entertainment. I have wanted to be an animator for a good time now, having
decided that in freshman year; before then I had hoped to be a video game designer, though the two
jobs do have some similarities I felt that an animator would better fit what I would love to do. I have
many reasons as to why I feel I chose this job, but simply I want it because I love cartoons and
movies, these things that have shaped a majority of my life. The job itself would be tough, having to
work with and coordinate with many others to get a project done, to be able to pull through to the end
of a project. It entails having to be determined and professional, to be a team player, and to be a hard
worker. My goals for this job are to work on cartoons and movies, to bring people entertainment and
hopefully something they enjoy as much as I enjoy them. I hope to maybe one day have come up with
my own cartoon, or to at least work on a big movie I could be proud of. My career goal would be to be
seen as a talented animator who works on wonderful productions, and maybe become a lead animator
one day.
Career related Information Animation jobs usually require a bachelor s degree in fine arts, computer
graphics, animation, or a related field (BLS). Typically to get a job one does

Lender Of Last Resort Essay
The Lender of Last Resort
1. What is the Lender of Last Resort (LOLR)?
The term Lender of Last Resort stems from the French phrase dernier ressort . The first recorded use
of the term Lender of Last Resort originates from a document called Observations on the
Establishment of the Bank of England written in 1797 by Sir Francis Baring in which he refers to the
Bank of England the function of dernier ressort .
The Lender of Last Resort is ordinarily a country s central bank. It offers loans to financial institutions
(including commercial banks) that encounter financial difficulties or are near bankruptcy. In other
words, The Lender of Last Resort provides liquidity to otherwise illiquid or insolvent financial
institutions that can t meet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Among saving possible failing financial institutions, other goals of this institution includes preventing
possible panic from spreading to the populace, preventing possible bank runs from happening also
avoiding bankruptcy spreading from one bank to another due to liquidity issues.
Possible scenarios in which the Lender of Last Resort is needed in order to help or save commercial
institutions include financial crises, bank runs (when a substantial number of people withdraw their
deposits or demand exchanging their deposits into government bonds or precious metals) or bank
panics (when many bank runs occur in a short period of time).
2. Worldwide Lenders of Last Resort
The function of Lender of Last Resort differs from country to country. One of the most used financial
institution as the Lender of Last Resort is the central bank.
In the USA for example, the Lender of Last Resort is represented by the Federal Reserve. The main
purpose of the Federal Reserve is to help provide liquidity to financial institutions that are illiquid, at
the point of bankruptcy and to stop illiquid banks to start bank panics.
In the United Kingdom, the Bank of England serves as the Lender of Last Resort whilst in New
Zealand we have the Reserve Bank of New Zealand which acts as the central bank and Lender of Last

Stereotypes In Hailee Steinfeld s Most Girls
Can I be a girl without wearing the stereotypical girly clothes? Hailee Steinfeld s song Most Girls
talks about the two types of girls that exist. The first one is the girly girl that wear cute items:
skirts, dresses, heels, tight clothing, and piercings on the body. She is very pretty since she wears make
up, while the second on is a tomboy that dresses casual clothes, doesn t care what they wear, and is
most likely bisexual or lesbian. She defines these types by their wardrobe, actions, and how they want
to succeed in life through their own unique way. Society tells them that is how a girl should portray
herself. No matter how you act or dress, at the end of the day you are a girl and no one can tell you
otherwise. The artist is a female and her style can be girly and tomboyish because that s who she is.
When I first heard this song I felt like I was finally understood that I am a girl without those
stereotypes. This song helped me realize I should be comfortable with myself and knowing not all
girls, like myself, feel that they have to live up to the stereotypical expectation of being a girly girl and
shouldn t define by any stereotypes, free to live by her own expectation, not society. First time I heard
this song on the radio I was filled with so much enjoyment thinking it was my birthday and the
attention was all on me. I thought back to when I was a kid, I hated wearing skirts, dresses, Skorts
(shorts attach under a skirt) and wearing cute petite shoes. I was forced to wear these items, but mostly
I wore T shirts, jeans, sweats, and Chuck Taylor Converse in white, black, gray, black and white all the
time. I felt wearing sweatpants, looking like a princess was the person I felt comfortable as. My
grandma hated taking me shopping because I never wanted to go to the extremely girly section. I felt
like I was in a world of bubble gum with so much pink, unicorns, and all that girly stuff. I do not hate
pink, but I m not too fond of it. She tried to shape me into this cute little girl who loves dolls, pink,
and everything girly like my sister. I am not a little doll that she commands to wear and do whatever
she wants. I didn t know how to be the proper girl my grandma wanted me to be because I was

Comparing Katha Pollitt s Why Boys Don T Play With Dolls
It is no lie when it s said that media influences human decisions. For adults, it could be the newest
fashion trends. Perhaps which restaurant has the highest rating and seems to be the most luxurious.
For children, it s the same. Nobody is spared from society and the media s norms. The media, society,
and even human nature in itself affect children s decisions in some shape or form. While this can
sometimes influence children in a positive way, it also limits children the ability to be free in decision
making. In the article, Why Boys Don t Play With Dolls the author, Katha Pollitt, emphasizes that
gender roles and gender stereotypes in children are actually a product of parental influence and society
s influence. It is not children who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A boy can start out loving to play with something usually meant for girls, such as a barbie. This is
entirely possible but then why don t we see this happening in society? It s because with time, the
children are exposed to negative provocation on how barbies are meant for girls. This type of exposure
eventually stop him from liking barbies, and shifting to playing with something more boyish . One of
the best examples of this happening is seen in the short story, Boys vs Girls , by Alice Munro. The
story follows the take of a rural farm girl who feels like she should have the freedom to do what boys
can do. The girl is stubborn and was able to keep her resolve at first. She defied those who believe she
should just give up and behave like a lady . However, how much negativity can a person take before
feeling isolated and hopeless. This is exactly what happened to this rural farm girl. Her resolve was
eroded away by constant verbal harassment. She was told again and again to give up, and just behave
like how a girl suppose to. In the end she finally gave in, and even stated, I guess I really am just a girl
. (Munro 44) This story is an example that with enough influence, a child can be forced to conform to
gender roles. The children then believe that gender roles are the right way to

Complex Adaptive Systems ( Cass ) And The Relationships...
Introduction
Complexity science is the study of complex adaptive systems (CASs) and the relationships that occur
within them. CASs are a function of what has previously occurred, what is currently occurring, and
are open to energy and information from the environment all around them (Chaffee McNeill, 2007).
The boundaries that define theses systems are fuzzy; each individual is their own CAS that is
influenced by a multitude of other CASs, all of which may belong to increasingly larger CASs. The
health care system is a CAS in and of itself that is made of a multitude of smaller CASs hospitals,
floors, units, and individuals. There are a many characteristics that help to make up and define what a
CAS is. Understanding these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While extremely beneficial, this tool can also become a hindrance when supplies are not restocked or
are placed in the wrong location. Another important member of this floor is the charge nurse who acts
as a liaison between patients, nurses, shifts, and hospital administrators. The charge nurse does not
have a set of patients assigned to them specifically, but helps nurses to get caught up when they fall
behind and acts in a generalized way to keep the floor functioning. The floor receptionist helps to
direct patient calls to the appropriate personnel, but this person is only present at certain times during
the day. Also visiting at any given time are physicians, chaplains, respiratory therapists, wound nurses,
IV therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and a variety of other hospital personnel.
With all of these individuals coming and going, this floor is constantly abuzz with movement as
everyone works together to help the patients who populate this floor receive the health care they need.
CAS 1 Simple Rules Applied Locally
Because of its status as a CAS, there are certain defining characteristics of this floor that when
examined closely can help us to get a better picture of how it functions. Simple rules applied locally
help to keep the CAS organized and moving appropriately. According to Plsek and Greenhalg (2001),
simple rules are present in almost everything we do; they help us to

Christian Worldview Essay
At any given point in time, and with any given human being, an individual s opinion and behavior
expose their worldview by demonstrating their perception of what they believe to be true. The
worldview of every person has a comprehensive perspective of reality in every aspect of life. It is
important to note that a person s worldview might not actually possess the truth, but it is their truth,
and that is what makes it their worldview. Consequently, one s personal understanding seeps into
every matter of one s life and the lives of others, both in private and public issues. Furthermore, the
essence of an established worldview is shaped by external influences such as one s cultural
environment, upbringing, companions, and the media. As a result of differing and incompatible

Essay on Climate Change and The Rise in Sea Level
On a recent afternoon, Scott McKenzie watched torrential rains and a murky tide swallow the street
outside his dog grooming salon. Within minutes, much of this stretch of chic South Beach was flooded

According to the World Bank Development Report 2013 there has been an increase in global surface

Recent studies (such as Wigley and Raper, 1987) have shown that 2 to 5 centimeters in sea level rise,
in the period of 1880 1985, can be explained by thermal expansion (Warrick, 1990). Moreover, studies
(such as Meier, 1984) have found evidence that 2 6 centimeters of sea level rise can be explained by
the melting of glaciers (Warrick, 1990). According to the International Programme for Climate
Change s estimates sea level will rise between 0.3 and 1.0 meter by 2100, with a best guess estimate
of 0.5 meter (World Resources, 1998 99). A rise in sea level will most likely affect coastal, deltaic, and
low lying populations and ecosystems. Still, more of global coastal areas are being developed for the
demand of growing populations. According to World Resources (1998 99), sixteen of the world s
largest cities with populations of more than 10 million are located in coastal zones. Coastal areas in
particular will be affected severely in terms of beach and coastal erosion, permanent inundation,
temporary flooding, and increased water salinity among other things are possible environmental
consequences of sea level rise. For the United Kingdom a 1 meter/yr cliff retreat rate would increase

Religion In The Autobiography Of Miss Jane Pittman
Many people in today s world believe there is a higher power and practice a religion. Some exhibit
true religious behaviors of peace and kindness, whereas other individuals hurt innocent people,
claiming that they did it in the name of their deity. In The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman,
religion is a common theme. Jane practiced Christianity like much of the south, but she was genuine in
her religion. In an earlier part of the book when she and Ned are trying to get to Ohio, they came
across an ornery woman whom reluctantly served them water. She told them that if she wasn t a God
fearing Christian she d kill them because she hated them. Jane Pittman was more of a true Christian
than the ornery Christian woman because Jane worshiped God out of love, she was very accepting of
others, and she was able to bounce back from hard times.
Jane became a Christian during the later years of her life and she always felt that God was protecting
and watching over her. She believed He had sent Joe Louis and Jackie Robinson for the purpose of
showing the world that skin color doesn t matter. Jane was also a true Christian because she believed
the message that God stood for. The ornery Christian woman was God fearing because she wanted to
kill the freed slaves, but since the Ten Commandments state that killing is a sin and she didn t want to

Contrary to Wilson s decrepit car garage, the auto repair industry changed rapidly in growth as well as
in jobs during the early twentieth century, while further straddling a wedge within the social hierarchy
as automobiles became more widespread in usage. The automobile industry became an oligopoly with
the formation of the Big Three: Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler (controlling 70% of the industry),
as the rest produced luxury vehicles for the upper class (Batchelor). Companies such as Ford evolved
their vehicles, such as introducing interchangeable parts, enabling the expansion of tools used by

believing they were all ignorant due to their lack of technological knowledge, and thus could be

example, Hudson Motor Company had car manuals telling their wealthy customers to be patient with

My First Day Of An American School
Topic: My first day in an American school
Specific Purpose: To tell a story about the my experience in the United States school system compare
to the Jamaican school system.
Thesis Statement: We should appreciate what we have before we lose it because the grass is not
always greener on the other side.
I.Introduction
a.After living in Jamaica for 15 years and 9 months, I went to live with my mother in Central Islip in
Long Island New York. It was sad to leave behind all my friends and my old school, but this would be
a fresh start to find new friends and to go to a new school.
b.I was very excited to start my new school after seeing how cool school seemed on TV. The no school
uniform, having lockers, walking out of class when the bell rung even is the teacher is still talking and
school buses. School seemed like a dreamland on TV compare to the strict school I was leaving.
I. Main point 1
a.my school was just a 6 minute walk for my house so I didn t get to experience the school bus ride.
My little sister who went to school in America all her life, helped me map out how to get to my first
three classes on a school map they gave me during registration.when I walked through the big glass
doors, my mood went from being excited to nervous. The main hallway was a big circle and you had
to walk in one direction during the period changes. I was overwhelmed by the 100s of kids in the

Endocrine vs. Nervous System
Endocrine Vs Nervous System
The endocrine system acts with nervous system to coordinate the body s activities.
Both systems enable cells to communicate with others by using chemical messengers.
The endocrine system uses chemical messengers called hormones that are transported by the
circulatory system (blood). They act on target cells that may be anywhere in the body.
The endocrine system is slower than the nervous system because hormones must travel through the
circulatory system to reach their target.
Target cells have receptors that are specific to the signaling molecules. The binding of hormones to the
receptors on or within the target cell produces a response by the target cell. The chemical messengers
used by the nervous system ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alcohol inhibits the release of ADH, causing the kidneys to produce dilute urine.
Control of the Anterior Pituitary
The hypothalamus produces hormones that travel in blood vessels to the anterior pituitary, stimulating
it to produce other hormones.
The hormones produced by the hypothalamus are called hypothalamic releasing hormones. The
anterior pituitary produces at least six different hormones. Each one is produced in response to a
specific hypothalamic releasing hormone.
The blood vessel that carries hypothalamic releasing hormones from the hypothalamus to the pituitary
is called a portal vein because it connects two capillary beds. One capillary bed is in the hypothalamus
and the other is in the anterior pituitary.
Release inhibiting hormones produced by the hypothalamus inhibit the pituitary from secreting its
hormones. Example
The pituitary is stimulated to release growth hormone (GH) by growth hromone releasing hormone
(GHRH) produced in the hypothalamus. It is inhibited from releasing growth hormone by growth
hormone release inhibiting hormone(GHRIH), also produced by the hypothalamus. Six different
hormones produced by the anterior lobe will be studied here. Three of these have direct effects on the
body, the other three control other glands. Anterior Pituitary Hormones that Directly Affect the Body

of diverse eras or prompting an absence of comprehension. Updike wrote this story to demonstrate the

Socrates has a unique position in the history of philosophy. On one hand he is the most influential on
another he is the least known. In his later life he is seen to stalk the streets barefoot, to spite
shoemakers. He went about arguing and questioning people and revealing inconsistencies in their
beliefs. He began teaching students but never accepted payments for doing so. This was possible
because of the inheritance left by his father. Socrates wrote nothing of himself so we are dependent
upon the works of both his students and associates who present a view as close to ... Show more

The shaky past of Athens, after the loss of the war against the Spartans and the overthrow of the
democracy they loved and fought for caused suspicion in Socrates who had association to Critas, a
bloodthirsty tyrant in an oligarchy called the Thirty Tyrants From a harmless town character Socrates
influence on the youth of Athens was being questioned.
Socrates was brought into the courts under charges of impiety and corruption of minors. Socrates did
not believe in the divinities of the city state. The punishment decided upon was an execution, in the
hope that Socrates would choose exile, a punishment that would have satisfied the jury.
Socrates takes the death penalty in stride, as a man of almost 70 years he would rather die honorably
than waste away in his older years. He claims that he will receive free meals, an honor kept only for
athletes who win at the Olympic games.
The execution of Socrates is not justified. The charges that were brought against Socrates had taught
all his adult life, without molestation, in a state that was well known for its democracy and fairness.
The Athenians were not brutal people and executions were rare. Socrates had to drink a poisonous
hemlock in order to die, a non brutal method of death. We must understand Athens past in order to
make judgment. I believe that the form of punishment was very extreme in this impressionable city
and very uncommon and unalike the portrayed view of the typical Athenian. Socrates

Santa Ana Winds are Meaningful to Authors Joan Didion in...
The Santa Ana winds obviously mean a great deal to Didion and Thomas which is why they regard it
as sort of a powerful force in nature. In The Santa Ana by Joan Didion, the wind is portrayed as a
force that deprives people of happiness. This concept is highlighted when she states that to live with
the Santa Anna is to accept . . . a deeply mechanistic view of human behavior. In Brush Fire by Linda
Thomas, it is portrayed more like a normal power of nature. Her concept is highlighted when she
brings up the fact that the chaparral plant burns due to the winds but then it returns in the spring which
symbolizes regrowth. Throughout their essays, both authors use diction as well as syntax to persuade
their perspective audiences.

. . is lost in embrace, passionate kisses no one seems to notice . Love to some degree can be viewed as
a start of another life , which is why once again the winds allow a cycle to take place. Lastly, Didion
adds to her Pathos by using words and imagery to some degree to highlight the destruction caused by
the winds. The usage of words like death, shot, killed, burn, destruction brings out the ominous tone
prevalent in the piece. Thomas ,though, uses words like passionate and embrace (which makes it seem
like it is a normal occurrence) to add to her Pathos. Thus, both the authors use the three appeals to get
their points across to the audience.
Second, both authors use structured syntax in order to convey their message. Thomas uses a simple
syntax whereas Didion uses more of a complex one. Both of them use varying length of sentences;
however the passages seem to go from general to specific. The evident structure is that they first
describe their environment and the subject in the beginning as well as introduce their message. Then
they move on to give the reader some logic behind these ideas. Finally, they conclude by ending their
narration with a summary of their arguments. Also, they both use first person narration in their pieces.
Thomas seems to have written the entire piece from her own perspective when compared to Didion,
who seems to have used less of her view specifically in the first half of the piece. This perspective

Replacement of Fossil Fuels with Nuclear Energy for Electricity
ABSTRACT
Our nation is on the brink of an energy crisis and alternative means to produce electricity must be
found. Fossil fuel resources are declining sharply and nuclear energy is the leading form of
replacement. Our research shows that the advantages to this new energy source are extraordinary and
that there are many ways to minimize its negative aspects. Due to the overwhelming advantages, we
have concluded that nuclear energy is indeed the best solution to the nation s energy crisis and with
more advanced research and technology any future problems can be solved.

However, it seems
Nuclear Energy for Electricity 3 that with increased research and experimentation the downsides of
nuclear energy could be minimized to such an extent that in the future all electricity could be produced
though nuclear turbines.
RESULTS/DISCUSSION
There are many advantages associated with the usage of nuclear energy for electricity. While nuclear
energy may seem like an expensive replacement for fossil fuels, in the long run it will cost no more
than coal. Though the construction of nuclear power plants is far more expensive and time consuming
than that of coal burning plants, the cost of actually running nuclear plants is far less. In the following
years the total budget will even out to equal that of coal plants. The construction costs of nuclear
plants comes out to be approximately two to six billion dollars (Nuclear energy in the United States,
2003) but according to studies by NEI the average production costs of nuclear energy have been
decreasing in the past decade. In 1987 the price was at 3.63 cents per kilowatt hour but by 2004 the
cost had come down to 1.68 cents per kilowatt hour (Nuclear energy and the environment, February
2005). This low price is not subject to fluctuations as it is not dependent upon foreign politics.
While both coal and nuclear energy cost about the same in the long run, nuclear energy is devoid of

The Role Of Cotton Related Trading In The First And Second...
Conclusion
This paper provided an overview of the cotton and cotton related trading in the first and second
industrial revolution. Through the lens of cotton industry, a clear picture of the development of global
trading system and globalisation can be more clearly projected. Before the first industrial revolution,
the trading system in the world was not that well developed and complicated. The East India
Companies which led by different colonial powers were the main actors on the trading system at that
time, and India was the major exporter of cotton goods which Britain was one of the main cotton
textile importers, since India have geographical advantages, the good quality raw cotton and the

Juxtaposition In The Grapes Of Wrath
The Vines of Vindication
Economic tragedy can seem to be perpetuated at any moment in our world, whether it be The Great
Depression or The Recession of 2008. Even when we are forced into these tragic scenarios, we must
repent from our uncivilized behavior and pledge to propel positive energy. John Steinbeck s The
Grapes of Wrath displays the vindication of the human soul through the device of juxtaposition. The
structure of America had been completely ravaged by The Great Depression, and many people chose
to band together in support of each other starting a new life. Illustrated in the quote from chapter 9 that
states, We ll start over. But you can t start over. Only a baby can start over. You and me why, we re all
that s been (Steinbeck 87), we see how a baby, the paradigm symbol of new life is used to
communicate starting over, and the exemption of the past. Throughout the narrative of the Joad s path
to a new beginning, Steinbeck expresses the same idea when others aid Rose of Sharon in an attempt
to ensure her baby s health: a community of people working together to establish a future in which
them and their world has been bettered. The ability to band ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

US Bombing In Syria
US airstrikes on a village north of the Syrian city of Raqqa killed at least 11 civilians, including four
children and six women, a UK based monitoring group reported Wednesday.
The bombing raid, which was launched just before midnight, is part of a protracted air war being
waged by the US military that has killed and wounded thousands of civilians in both Syria and
neighboring Iraq over the past three years.
In Syria, the airstrikes, ostensibly aimed against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), are being
carried out without any authorization from either the United Nations or the government in Damascus,
making them acts of aggression and war crimes.

the number of US troops operating in the country double over the past few months. Moreover, the

substantive evidence to the Syrian government, to launch an attack that rained 59 cruise missiles on a
Syrian government air base last month.
Meanwhile, US troops are participating in massive military exercises in Jordan, close to the Syrian

The Influence Of Brunelleschi s Dome In Florence
In my studies, I decided to research Brunelleschi s Dome in Florence, Italy, its beginning and
inspiration, and how it was constructed. I was amazed by the building of this structure and how the
idea of such a structure came about. It all started in 1418 when the Florentine Fathers noticed that their
Cathedral had been an open to the sky throughout its existence. They decided to cover this big hole
but had no idea how to do it. They were inspired by the Parthenon and its infrastructure, and wanted to
build a dome to represent their power and spiritual aspiration. They didn t know if their cathedral
could hold the weight of a dome (since the Parthenon was made of concrete), and it it would have to
have major support. None of them knew where to start, so they had a contest to see who could come
up with the best plan and idea to execute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Brunelleschi was a hot head and knew he was a genius. His pride badly influenced the judge s
impression of him and his plan. The competition grew tedious, but Brunelleschi was persistent and
knew his idea would work. He was known for being a genius, because As a boy, during his goldsmith
s apprenticeship, he had mastered drawing and painting, wood carving, sculpture in silver and bronze,
stone setting, niello, and enamel work (Mueller, 2014). With much consent, and much convincing, the
Florentine Fathers gave Brunelleschi a chance to prove his ideas. His plan was this: He wanted to
construct two domes, one within another. This would be done to minimize the scaffolding and the
weight distribution. He would then support the inner dome and with bindings (much like a wooden
barrel has) around using metal, stone and wood. After, to minimize the weight of the dome, he would
then use more porous rock (like volcanic rock) after building for 46 feet. His plan required no timber
scaffolding, and no supports that would be based inside the

where we were arguing back and forth about what is art and what is not art. Many people believe that
Jeff Koons artwork is not considered art, however I believe that his artworks are considered art
because its his own creation and it is a new kind art that we have not seen much of. From our lecture,
Professor Brandon Vickerd talked a little about Jeff Koons, and he stated that Some people would look
at his work as pioneering and of major art historical importance, while others view his work as kitsch:
crass and based on cynical self merchandising. (Taken from PowerPoint). By researching this artist, I
found that basically anything could be considered art as long as you make it your own, original and
make it look interesting.

Boston Massacre Happened
What Really Happened at the Boston Massacre It was a cool night in Boston in early march. I was
passing by the customs house while a group of boys began to yell and hollering at some British
soldiers. As the boys continued the soldiers began to fluster, so much to the point that he strikes one of
the boys with his rifle. And as soon as I can blink, I was in the middle of a crowd surrounding the
soldier. As the crowd grew, more soldiers came to his side. The crowd started to get out of control so
one of the soldiers picked up his musket and fired into the crowd and so his allies followed suit with
one of the musket shots nearly missing me. All of the citizens run in all directions and the crowd
nearly trampling children. I returned home and later discovered that the soldiers were placed under
house arrest and soon after taken to jail and charged for the death of several people. As things heated
up in court, more and more British soldiers arrived in Boston. They did this to bring peace to Boston
but it did not do that it all. It did the exact opposite and caused even more chaos. And as chaos spread

Materialism During The Romantic Poem Era
Materialism, toxic to our happiness, yet often ignored. Materialism was a pressing social issue during
the industrial revolution and the Romantic Poem Era. It was written about by many well known
Romantic poets of the time including; Blake, Shelley, Coleridge and Wordsworth. Despite the
extensive development of the world from the times of Romantic Poets to our modern day society,
materialisation is still present. This issue has it s claws sunk into our modern world, with
contemporary artists Madonna, Pink Floyd and AC DC writing about their outlooks on the subject.
Materialism demonstrated by poets during the Romantic Era is still relevant in modern society and

used for the roadbeds. These stonebreakers represent the disenfranchised lower class on whose backs
the modern life was being built upon. The young man in the painting is struggling to move the large

are more modern. The older gentleman, is knelt down, tired from the work. He is breaking the rocks,
while wearing the outfit of a lower class man. What the older man was wearing is the more traditional
style of a peasant with his wooden shoes. The younger man is almost representing a grim of the future,

The Five Classical Cultures Of Greece, Rome, Greece And Rome
When it comes to culture, politics, and society, the five classical civilizations of Greece, Rome, Persia,
India, and China were similar in ways, but also different which made each its own.
Let s talk about Culture first. Religion and its importance is one that most classical civilizations had in
common, but they each also had their own uniqueness. The Greece culture valued education, and
placed emphasis on the importance of human effort. Celebration of human individual achievement and
the ideal human form also was a part of their culture. Philosophy and science emphasized the use of
logic. Greece s religion was based on Polytheism, which was the belief in many Gods; with gods
having very human characteristics. Great seafaring skills, centered on Aegean, and highly developed

Greece interesting. Rome s culture was based on art, literature, philosophy, science derivative from
Greece. Superb engineering and architecture techniques; extensive road, sanitation systems;
monumental architecture buildings, aqueducts, bridges. Polytheism, derivative from Greeks, but
religion was not particularly important to the average Roman; However, Christianity developed during
the Empire period, but didn t become dominant until very late.

Purpose of the Declaration of Independence

A democracy is a system of government controlled by the people, not by one certain group or

leads to the concept that all citizens should have the same rights, responsibilities, and influence in the
governing of their country. In writing the Declaration of Independence Thomas Jefferson was trying to

document was the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson felt that Britain was doing nothing but

equality was more limited than it is today. Certainly, all members of colonial America did not share
equal status. However the concepts of the Declaration of Independence have evolved more fully over

line will control the thyristor gate. When writing a high , the bit line BL is set at low, and both word
lines WL1, WL2 are switched on. At this moment, the thyristor behaves like a forward biased PN
diode. After a write operation, both gates are shut off, and a high state is stored in the thyristor.

The Importance Of Love In Romeo And Juliet
Now many would call Romeo and Juliet the play that teaches us that love, at first sight, is real. While
reading this play the only thing the audience will be able to understand from this story is that love
holds no bounds, that some love is forever. In class, we came to the conclusion that this play is about
immature, naive, stubborn kids who do not understand the concept of what real love is. Their demised
stemmed from a fast paced relationship which bloomed from rejection. Stupidity, naivety,
stubbornness, and immaturity are all traits that may be used to describe Romeo Montague. Now, these
traits shaped Romeo to be the most irresponsible guy ever which lead him and his supposed love to
their demise. Now it is not to be said that Juliet was not at fault, on the contrary, she is also to blame
for their demise because the traits Romeo has she seems to have too. Most of these ideas seem pretty
petty for older people, which is why it weighs so heavy on them, they are children, if they would have
waited to even commence their relationship they would have outgrown most of these traits and their
demise may have been avoided altogether. At the beginning of the play, we see Romeo carry the same
feelings that he expresses for Juliet for someone else. Before there was Juliet in Romeo s life there
was Rosaline, another Capulet. If you see how Romeo expresses his feelings for Rosaline, you can see
that it is the same way he later expresses them for Juliet. An example of this would be

Disadvantages Of Induction Cooking
What is Induction Cooking?
An induction plate consists of an electronic generator that transforms the mains frequency into a high
frequency and an induction coil that creates a magnetic field under the glass when a container whose
base is made from a ferromagnetic material is present.
The magnetic waves produced release heat directly to the base of the container. In the absence of this
ferromagnetic material, the phenomenon does not happen and the machine stops automatically.
The glass plate serves solely as a support for the container and only gets warm.
Advantages of Induction
Induction Cooking is Safer
They don t burn. Since heat is created in the pan itself, the induction plates don t get that hot. No
flame means no grease fires, and no gas means no gas leaks.
Also, thanks to it detector function, the plate automatically detects the presence of pans with
ferromagnetic bases, instantly switching the equipment on or off. This makes it a lot more difficult to
burn yourself as you pour your sautéed vegetables onto a serving plate. It makes it easier to get those
vegetables just right, too...
Induction Offers Greater Precision Cooking
Induction allows you to turn the power and heat up and down instantly. Induction cooktops are as
responsive as gas to a turn of the dial, and they ve got another thing going for them, too: more settings.
Some induction hobs have up to 20 settings for setting the exact desired temperature.
Control to rival gas cooking means induction

A Statement Utter By An Educator
It is not a statement utter by an educator in public, but rather it is a belief that is head and expressed
during faculty meetings, in the teachers, lounge, and even with an intimate partner. Can all children
learn? The question stems from our the educators stress level of what education is. in the ideological
word that allowed us the opportunities to pursue this career, never was it mentioned that education
was not what we thought it was. At the end of the day, even at the best schools, we still question, Are
they getting anything out of it? Education is not a lecture, a study guide, and/or a test. Education is the
process to grow and build the whole student into a scholar. Education is used to imbue students with
choice and opportunity, but I fear that we as educators forget that those choices and those
opportunities are not ours to make. All children can learn, and all children can grow and progress. Not
all children will pursue university, but all children will learn if they are given the space that encourage
them to explore their own beliefs and the trust from their teachers to do so with fear of humiliation. In
many facets of education, districts and school leaders have been trying to determine the best practices
for moving and improving their students. NCLB and Common Core have lead way from a testing and
data driven school to a more focused and clean progress machine that hopefully helps individual
students improve and grow. Programs like Response to

Foreign Aid Effects
The act of cutting spending from other sectors could potentially have a negative impact on the national
security of the United States. One of the most important sectors outside of defense spending related to
boosting the strength of national security is foreign aid. Foreign aid has been used as a tool by the
United States to stabilize weak states and build alliances with states that could potentially become
dangerous adversaries in the future. One of the most significant historic examples of foreign aid was
the Marshall Plan in the aftermath of World War II, a conflict in which much of Europe had been
decimated by the violence of the war and was unable to rebuild without outside aid (Sarkesian 12).
The United States had emerged as the strongest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the statement, Rubio points out that foreign aid is already less than 1% of budget, so cutting it
would not make a major difference in supporting the 54 billion dollar increase in defense spending
(Rubio). This statement highlights the present opposition to Trump, even within his own party, that
understands the immense impact that foreign aid has on boosting national security. Major foreign
leaders, such as the Secretary General of the United Nations, have also spoken against the proposed
foreign aid cut and the devastating effect that it would have on international affairs. The spokesman of
Secretary General Antonio Guterres recently released a statement sharing the view that combating
terrorism and ensuring international security requires more than military spending (Al Jazeera).
President Trump and his cabinet should listen to the concerns of their fellow party members and world
leaders in regards to this stance, as well as study the history of the positive impact that foreign aid has
had on United States national

Trove Videogames Essay
In the world of gaming consoles have grown over the years and one thing PC games had over consoles
was massive multiplier online games (MMO s). Now with the gaming systems getting better MMO s
have started to find their own place on gaming consoles. One in particular is Trove by Trion Worlds.
Trove is a MMO and was originally on the PC but had been recently added to the consoles systems
and has taken off with popularity. To play trove you run around different worlds and as you level you
progress into higher leveled portals to keep leveling yourself to the max level of thirty. While you run
around you will encounter other players who are above you and below you on the level leaderboards
and you can interact with them in a global chat or in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As you complete dungeons, you will be rewarded loot and collecting all of them and taking them to
the loot collector will unlock styles and get the mastery for doing so. Now that you have played all the
characters and have decided to choose the character of your choice, play that character. You will need
to focus on leveling that character and that character only. There is no way to shortcut leveling, the
best way to level is to dungeon farm. Over the world portals, you will see recommended level and
power rank to enter the world. You always want to in the proper world range for your level. Going
higher will not give you more experience and keeping to low on the worlds will not pay out the max
experience you can receive. Another key factor you will notice as you are leveling up your character is
you are unlocking gem slots. This is key to the power rank portion of Trove, and that s why you need
to be level 30 because by doing so you will have unlocked all gem slots and allow you to insert the
maximum number of gems onto that character. After talking about leveling and gems a little I will go
in a little deeper into the matter. To make sure you can get into the desired portals as you level. Your
face, hat, and weapon you should be changing out with the items you pick up from dungeons if it will
give you more power rank. Your end gear type will be called Stellar gear, but you will end up having
to buy that from another player

Traditionally it is a spiritual, mental as well as a physical practice or discipline which originated in India. In the west yoga is often perceived and taught as a pure physical training. It thus means the yoking of all the powers of the body, mind and soul to God; it means the disciplining of the intellect, the mind, the emotions, the will, which that Yoga presupposes; it means a poise of the soul which enables one to look at life in all its aspects. Asana practice covers the main task of hatha yoga (see 1.3 different approaches to yoga) and is the third part of Patañjali s eight steps to attain the highest state of consciousness. Traditionally āsana means sitting condition or posture , it contributes to the steadiness of the body and the mind and to a sense of well being. The term posture does not fully cover the meaning of āsana though. In a posture the state of mind is not of importance. Postures are created and held below the level of consciousness. e.g.: involuntary lifting of the shoulders while under stress, although the person is sitting quite comfortably in a chair. Asana is acquired voluntarily. A thought process is avoided, one is supposed to concentrate on the breathing or the universe while maintaining the āsana. In āsanas exercises the muscles, joints and nerves while being maintained in a steady manner. • 3. Different Training Methods Are Affective Some of the different training methods are affective in there own way, but can they be used for continuing employees? One of the great perks of having the business simulation is that it can be used for all employees, new and seasoned, to be able to develop further knowledge. With simulations they do not all have to be complex, like having all the business processes of the organization. The simulation could simply have specific skills related to them. These concepts could include communication, feedback, leadership and team skills, problem solving, decision making, managing resources, budgeting, and the list continues. Essentially every department can have its own business simulation game to learn the processes necessary. This allows the company to move individuals internally and allow for growth within the company. Say they have an individual who has been doing accounting for the company and want to promote them to finance manger, they can use a business simulation game to have them better understand the tasks they will be performing as a finance manager before having them go into it blind. Another example could be that the company has noticed there is some lack of communication going on between the manager and his employees. The simulator could enhance the mangers understanding of how to communicate stronger, which can improve the satisfaction of employees. Being able to take the simulation and adjust it to the necessary processes that the company is looking to use for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Persuasive Essay About Animator Introduction Animations, cartoons and movies we watch every day. Ever since I was little I have loved to watch these collections of pictures move across a screen, all the work that has gone into making the wonderful piece of entertainment. I have wanted to be an animator for a good time now, having decided that in freshman year; before then I had hoped to be a video game designer, though the two jobs do have some similarities I felt that an animator would better fit what I would love to do. I have many reasons as to why I feel I chose this job, but simply I want it because I love cartoons and movies, these things that have shaped a majority of my life. The job itself would be tough, having to work with and coordinate with many others to get a project done, to be able to pull through to the end of a project. It entails having to be determined and professional, to be a team player, and to be a hard worker. My goals for this job are to work on cartoons and movies, to bring people entertainment and hopefully something they enjoy as much as I enjoy them. I hope to maybe one day have come up with my own cartoon, or to at least work on a big movie I could be proud of. My career goal would be to be seen as a talented animator who works on wonderful productions, and maybe become a lead animator one day. Career related Information Animation jobs usually require a bachelor s degree in fine arts, computer graphics, animation, or a related field (BLS). Typically to get a job one does ... • 7. Stereotypes In Hailee Steinfeld s Most Girls Can I be a girl without wearing the stereotypical girly clothes? Hailee Steinfeld s song Most Girls talks about the two types of girls that exist. The first one is the girly girl that wear cute items: skirts, dresses, heels, tight clothing, and piercings on the body. She is very pretty since she wears make up, while the second on is a tomboy that dresses casual clothes, doesn t care what they wear, and is most likely bisexual or lesbian. She defines these types by their wardrobe, actions, and how they want to succeed in life through their own unique way. Society tells them that is how a girl should portray herself. No matter how you act or dress, at the end of the day you are a girl and no one can tell you otherwise. The artist is a female and her style can be girly and tomboyish because that s who she is. When I first heard this song I felt like I was finally understood that I am a girl without those stereotypes. This song helped me realize I should be comfortable with myself and knowing not all girls, like myself, feel that they have to live up to the stereotypical expectation of being a girly girl and shouldn t define by any stereotypes, free to live by her own expectation, not society. First time I heard this song on the radio I was filled with so much enjoyment thinking it was my birthday and the attention was all on me. I thought back to when I was a kid, I hated wearing skirts, dresses, Skorts (shorts attach under a skirt) and wearing cute petite shoes. I was forced to wear these items, but mostly I wore T shirts, jeans, sweats, and Chuck Taylor Converse in white, black, gray, black and white all the time. I felt wearing sweatpants, looking like a princess was the person I felt comfortable as. My grandma hated taking me shopping because I never wanted to go to the extremely girly section. I felt like I was in a world of bubble gum with so much pink, unicorns, and all that girly stuff. I do not hate pink, but I m not too fond of it. This is entirely possible but then why don t we see this happening in society? It s because with time, the children are exposed to negative provocation on how barbies are meant for girls. This type of exposure eventually stop him from liking barbies, and shifting to playing with something more boyish . One of the best examples of this happening is seen in the short story, Boys vs Girls , by Alice Munro. The story follows the take of a rural farm girl who feels like she should have the freedom to do what boys can do. The girl is stubborn and was able to keep her resolve at first. She defied those who believe she should just give up and behave like a lady . However, how much negativity can a person take before feeling isolated and hopeless. This is exactly what happened to this rural farm girl. Her resolve was eroded away by constant verbal harassment. She was told again and again to give up, and just behave like how a girl suppose to. In the end she finally gave in, and even stated, I guess I really am just a girl . (Munro 44) This story is an example that with enough influence, a child can be forced to conform to gender roles. Both systems enable cells to communicate with others by using chemical messengers. The endocrine system uses chemical messengers called hormones that are transported by the circulatory system (blood). They act on target cells that may be anywhere in the body. The endocrine system is slower than the nervous system because hormones must travel through the circulatory system to reach their target. In his later life he is seen to stalk the streets barefoot, to spite shoemakers. He went about arguing and questioning people and revealing inconsistencies in their beliefs. He began teaching students but never accepted payments for doing so. This was possible because of the inheritance left by his father. Socrates wrote nothing of himself so we are dependent upon the works of both his students and associates who present a view as close to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The shaky past of Athens, after the loss of the war against the Spartans and the overthrow of the democracy they loved and fought for caused suspicion in Socrates who had association to Critas, a bloodthirsty tyrant in an oligarchy called the Thirty Tyrants From a harmless town character Socrates influence on the youth of Athens was being questioned. Socrates was brought into the courts under charges of impiety and corruption of minors. Socrates did not believe in the divinities of the city state. The punishment decided upon was an execution, in the hope that Socrates would choose exile, a punishment that would have satisfied the jury. Socrates takes the death penalty in stride, as a man of almost 70 years he would rather die honorably than waste away in his older years. He claims that he will receive free meals, an honor kept only for athletes who win at the Olympic games. The execution of Socrates is not justified. The charges that were brought against Socrates had taught all his adult life, without molestation, in a state that was well known for its democracy and fairness. The Athenians were not brutal people and executions were rare. Socrates had to drink a poisonous hemlock in order to die, a non brutal method of death. We must understand Athens past in order to make judgment. I believe that the form of punishment was very extreme in this impressionable city and very uncommon and unalike the portrayed view of the typical Athenian. Socrates ... • 21. Santa Ana Winds are Meaningful to Authors Joan Didion in... The Santa Ana winds obviously mean a great deal to Didion and Thomas which is why they regard it as sort of a powerful force in nature. In The Santa Ana by Joan Didion, the wind is portrayed as a force that deprives people of happiness. This concept is highlighted when she states that to live with the Santa Anna is to accept . . . a deeply mechanistic view of human behavior. In Brush Fire by Linda Thomas, it is portrayed more like a normal power of nature. Her concept is highlighted when she brings up the fact that the chaparral plant burns due to the winds but then it returns in the spring which symbolizes regrowth. Throughout their essays, both authors use diction as well as syntax to persuade their perspective audiences. First, the ... Love to some degree can be viewed as a start of another life , which is why once again the winds allow a cycle to take place. Lastly, Didion adds to her Pathos by using words and imagery to some degree to highlight the destruction caused by the winds. The usage of words like death, shot, killed, burn, destruction brings out the ominous tone prevalent in the piece. Thomas ,though, uses words like passionate and embrace (which makes it seem like it is a normal occurrence) to add to her Pathos. Thus, both the authors use the three appeals to get their points across to the audience. Second, both authors use structured syntax in order to convey their message. Thomas uses a simple syntax whereas Didion uses more of a complex one. Both of them use varying length of sentences; however the passages seem to go from general to specific. The evident structure is that they first describe their environment and the subject in the beginning as well as introduce their message. Then they move on to give the reader some logic behind these ideas. Finally, they conclude by ending their narration with a summary of their arguments. Also, they both use first person narration in their pieces. Thomas seems to have written the entire piece from her own perspective when compared to Didion, who seems to have used less of her view specifically in the first half of the piece. Replacement of Fossil Fuels with Nuclear Energy for Electricity ABSTRACT Our nation is on the brink of an energy crisis and alternative means to produce electricity must be found. Fossil fuel resources are declining sharply and nuclear energy is the leading form of replacement. Our research shows that the advantages to this new energy source are extraordinary and that there are many ways to minimize its negative aspects. Due to the overwhelming advantages, we have concluded that nuclear energy is indeed the best solution to the nation s energy crisis and with more advanced research and technology any future problems can be solved. However, it seems Nuclear Energy for Electricity 3 that with increased research and experimentation the downsides of nuclear energy could be minimized to such an extent that in the future all electricity could be produced though nuclear turbines. RESULTS/DISCUSSION There are many advantages associated with the usage of nuclear energy for electricity. While nuclear energy may seem like an expensive replacement for fossil fuels, in the long run it will cost no more than coal. Though the construction of nuclear power plants is far more expensive and time consuming than that of coal burning plants, the cost of actually running nuclear plants is far less. In the following years the total budget will even out to equal that of coal plants. The construction costs of nuclear plants comes out to be approximately two to six billion dollars (Nuclear energy in the United States, 2003) but according to studies by NEI the average production costs of nuclear energy have been decreasing in the past decade. In 1987 the price was at 3.63 cents per kilowatt hour but by 2004 the cost had come down to 1.68 cents per kilowatt hour (Nuclear energy and the environment, February 2005). This low price is not subject to fluctuations as it is not dependent upon foreign politics. While both coal and nuclear energy cost about the same in the long run, nuclear energy is devoid of the ... Through the lens of cotton industry, a clear picture of the development of global trading system and globalisation can be more clearly projected. Before the first industrial revolution, the trading system in the world was not that well developed and complicated. The East India Companies which led by different colonial powers were the main actors on the trading system at that time, and India was the major exporter of cotton goods which Britain was one of the main cotton textile importers, since India have geographical advantages, the good quality raw cotton and the advanced textile production knowledge. Juxtaposition In The Grapes Of Wrath The Vines of Vindication Economic tragedy can seem to be perpetuated at any moment in our world, whether it be The Great Depression or The Recession of 2008. Even when we are forced into these tragic scenarios, we must repent from our uncivilized behavior and pledge to propel positive energy. John Steinbeck s The Grapes of Wrath displays the vindication of the human soul through the device of juxtaposition. The structure of America had been completely ravaged by The Great Depression, and many people chose to band together in support of each other starting a new life. Illustrated in the quote from chapter 9 that states, We ll start over. But you can t start over. Only a baby can start over. You and me why, we re all that s been (Steinbeck 87), we see how a baby, the paradigm symbol of new life is used to communicate starting over, and the exemption of the past. Throughout the narrative of the Joad s path to a new beginning, Steinbeck expresses the same idea when others aid Rose of Sharon in an attempt to ensure her baby s health: a community of people working together to establish a future in which them and their world has been bettered. I was amazed by the building of this structure and how the idea of such a structure came about. It all started in 1418 when the Florentine Fathers noticed that their Cathedral had been an open to the sky throughout its existence. They decided to cover this big hole but had no idea how to do it. They were inspired by the Parthenon and its infrastructure, and wanted to build a dome to represent their power and spiritual aspiration. They didn t know if their cathedral could hold the weight of a dome (since the Parthenon was made of concrete), and it it would have to have major support. This would be done to minimize the scaffolding and the weight distribution. He would then support the inner dome and with bindings (much like a wooden barrel has) around using metal, stone and wood. Their demised stemmed from a fast paced relationship which bloomed from rejection. Stupidity, naivety, stubbornness, and immaturity are all traits that may be used to describe Romeo Montague. Now, these traits shaped Romeo to be the most irresponsible guy ever which lead him and his supposed love to their demise. Now it is not to be said that Juliet was not at fault, on the contrary, she is also to blame for their demise because the traits Romeo has she seems to have too. Most of these ideas seem pretty petty for older people, which is why it weighs so heavy on them, they are children, if they would have waited to even commence their relationship they would have outgrown most of these traits and their demise may have been avoided altogether. At the beginning of the play, we see Romeo carry the same feelings that he expresses for Juliet for someone else. Before there was Juliet in Romeo s life there was Rosaline, another Capulet. If you see how Romeo expresses his feelings for Rosaline, you can see that it is the same way he later expresses them for Juliet. An example of this would be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Disadvantages Of Induction Cooking What is Induction Cooking? An induction plate consists of an electronic generator that transforms the mains frequency into a high frequency and an induction coil that creates a magnetic field under the glass when a container whose base is made from a ferromagnetic material is present. The magnetic waves produced release heat directly to the base of the container. In the absence of this ferromagnetic material, the phenomenon does not happen and the machine stops automatically. The glass plate serves solely as a support for the container and only gets warm. Advantages of Induction Induction Cooking is Safer They don t burn. Since heat is created in the pan itself, the induction plates don t get that hot. No flame means no grease fires, and no gas means no gas leaks. Also, thanks to it detector function, the plate automatically detects the presence of pans with ferromagnetic bases, instantly switching the equipment on or off. This makes it a lot more difficult to burn yourself as you pour your sautéed vegetables onto a serving plate. It makes it easier to get those vegetables just right, too... Induction Offers Greater Precision Cooking Induction allows you to turn the power and heat up and down instantly. Induction cooktops are as responsive as gas to a turn of the dial, and they ve got another thing going for them, too: more settings. Some induction hobs have up to 20 settings for setting the exact desired temperature. Control to rival gas cooking means induction ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. A Statement Utter By An Educator It is not a statement utter by an educator in public, but rather it is a belief that is head and expressed during faculty meetings, in the teachers, lounge, and even with an intimate partner. Can all children learn? The question stems from our the educators stress level of what education is. in the ideological word that allowed us the opportunities to pursue this career, never was it mentioned that education was not what we thought it was. At the end of the day, even at the best schools, we still question, Are they getting anything out of it? Education is not a lecture, a study guide, and/or a test. Education is the process to grow and build the whole student into a scholar. Education is used to imbue students with choice and opportunity, but I fear that we as educators forget that those choices and those opportunities are not ours to make. All children can learn, and all children can grow and progress. Not all children will pursue university, but all children will learn if they are given the space that encourage them to explore their own beliefs and the trust from their teachers to do so with fear of humiliation. In many facets of education, districts and school leaders have been trying to determine the best practices for moving and improving their students. NCLB and Common Core have lead way from a testing and data driven school to a more focused and clean progress machine that hopefully helps individual students improve and grow. • 41. Foreign Aid Effects The act of cutting spending from other sectors could potentially have a negative impact on the national security of the United States. One of the most important sectors outside of defense spending related to boosting the strength of national security is foreign aid. Foreign aid has been used as a tool by the United States to stabilize weak states and build alliances with states that could potentially become dangerous adversaries in the future. One of the most significant historic examples of foreign aid was the Marshall Plan in the aftermath of World War II, a conflict in which much of Europe had been decimated by the violence of the war and was unable to rebuild without outside aid (Sarkesian 12). The United States had emerged as the strongest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the statement, Rubio points out that foreign aid is already less than 1% of budget, so cutting it would not make a major difference in supporting the 54 billion dollar increase in defense spending (Rubio). This statement highlights the present opposition to Trump, even within his own party, that understands the immense impact that foreign aid has on boosting national security. Major foreign leaders, such as the Secretary General of the United Nations, have also spoken against the proposed foreign aid cut and the devastating effect that it would have on international affairs. The spokesman of Secretary General Antonio Guterres recently released a statement sharing the view that combating terrorism and ensuring international security requires more than military spending (Al Jazeera). President Trump and his cabinet should listen to the concerns of their fellow party members and world leaders in regards to this stance, as well as study the history of the positive impact that foreign aid has had on United States national ...
