Analysis Of Snow White And The Seven Drawfs
The film of Snow White and the Seven Drawfs (1938) is directed by David Hand (supervising) an
animated musical fantasy that film produced by Walt Disney Productions and originally released by
RKO Radio Pictures. The film shows the audience how heroism is the major theme because there are
good individuals (i.e. the seven dwarfs, the forest animal and the prince) around whom we can count
on to do the right thing even when we are in trouble. Surprisingly, the film story is slightly told
differently from the original story written by the Grimm brothers. In effect, Disney removes scenes
such as [a mother] eating the lungs and liver of her supposedly dead daughter because that the
animated film is addressed to young children(Davis, 2009). Not mention, young children would not
understand why a mother would want to kill her own daughter out of jealousy. The movie Snow White
and the Seven Drawfs has many themes but heroism is the main focus in this paper. In short, heroism
is established through costumes, acting style, and lighting.
Heroes are dressed in costumes. This is shown in The Evil Queen s Death scene in which the animal
sense danger and after attempting to drive [the Witch] away, rush to the mine to fetch the dwarfs,
where they try to warn them.nWhen Sleepy suggests that the Queen has found Snow White, the
dwarfs rush home to find that the Witch has succeeded in poisoning the princess and it s about to
leave. The dwarfs chase the Witch into the mountains and she reaches the cliff. [The Witch] attempts
to crush the dwarfs with a boulder nut a flash of lightning causes her to fall from the cliff and be
crushed by the boulder herself (The Disney Wiki). The seven dwarfs costumes are different colored
stocking caps, tunic, leggings with a black belt with a rectangular outlined buckle, and medieval style
shoes.
After, the handsome Prince arrives in a custom wearing a red cape, a blue tunic over a white shirt with
gray pants, a dagger sheathed at his left hip and boots to kiss Snow White to break the spell of the
Sleeping Death. The heroism theme is established in costumes to become the best version of yourself
and approachable to those in need.
The heroism theme comes through the acting style in Snow White

Tale Of Two Cities Inhumanity Essay
In France, the years between 1789 and 1799 were a time of thoughtless inhumanity and brutality
toward fellow man. These inhumane acts are carried through the by Revolutionaries and the nobility
of France in these years and the years leading up to the French Revolution. The best illustration of the
inhumanity felt and shown during this time is A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. Dickens uses
metaphors as symbols throughout this book to exemplify his theme of thoughtlessness toward people
from other people. Dickens develops these metaphors throughout the novel and manipulates them to
fit different circumstances. He uses every day objects and ideas and makes them personifications of
the Revolution and their unsympathetic mindsets and agendas. The symbols of the scarecrows and the
birds of fine song and feather, the sea, and the wine represent the theme of inhumanity in Charles
Dickens A Tale of Two Cities. The scarecrows and the birds of fine song and feather represent the
relationship between the peasants and the nobles and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The scarecrows are the starving peasants and the birds of fine song and feather are the lucky nobles.
These two were ruthless to one another form the beginning, with their conflicting interests. The sea
and its mighty waves crash up onto the shores of the nobles and knock down their high horses. The
sea is a wild force, and cannot be contained by human force. The wine is the blood of the Revolution
and the insanity of the people who spilled it. Both the wine and the blood it presents give the drinker a
sense of drunkenness. The inhumanity in A Tale of Two Cities can only be seen by those who know
the future. In the time that the acts of inhumanity take place they seem like deserved acts, when in
reality, they are as malicious and heartless as murdering your best

A Report Based On Tweedie And Martinov- Bennie
Introduction This report is based on Tweedie and Martinov Bennie (2015), Integrated Reporting (IR),
double edged from a perspective of critical sustainability, and pointed out three key distinctive goals
as well as strategies. The report seeks to have an insight into IR with an application of accounting
theory, and discuss the performance of CPAAustralia regarding IR. The report will be divided into
four parts. Institutional Theory and Stakeholder Theory will be utilized to examine IR practices in the
Part I and Part II. By reviewing 2014 IR of CPAAustralia, their performance related to the three
distinctive goals raised by Tweedie and Martinov Bennie will be discussed in the Part III and IV. Part I
The reasons of adopting Integrated Reporting Institutional Theory IR is considered to promote a more
cohesive and efficient approach to corporate reporting and aims to improve the quality of information
available to providers of financial capital to enable a more efficient and productive allocation of
capital (Consultation Draft of the Framework, 2013). As what Eccles and Krzus (2010, p. 3) advised,
IR makes it possible to counter integration deficiency that most organisations have. They provide
various separate documents, disclosing financial, social and environment responsibilities without
linkage. On the other hand, by IR, the report would gain commitment to the environment, social
recognition and a more efficient management system (Dragu and Tiron

Emerging English Learners
Homes all across Australia speak more than one language. This includes the large amount of
Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander languages and dialects present across the country. The growing
diversity of Australia is reflected in the amount of students who are classified as EAL/D learners.
EAL/D learners are students whose first language is either a dialect or language other than English.
Children are taught their first language/s (L1) at home this is known as their mother tongue. Children
may be taught two languages at once from the time of infancy this is called bilingualism. Regardless
of what these languages are each and every children will learn the same way. The learning process is
done gradually and takes at least 8 years to become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These students may find it very difficult to participate in English tasks and will quickly tire when
constantly having to converse in English.
Emerging English learners have a basic knowledge of English and also know other language or
dialects. These students are more capable of participating in classroom tasks and contributing to
discussions. However they still struggle with written and oral tasks and need a lot more concentration
than those with English as their first language.
Developing English learners have a clearer understanding of English and actively participate in
classroom tasks. With this higher knowledge of English they are able to concentrate for longer periods
and have a developing proficiency in written English. These students can also create longer pieces of
spoken or written language. However are still grasping the English rules of grammar and expanding
their vocabulary.
Consolidating English learners have a sound proficiency in English and are able to concentrate on all
classroom tasks including extensive teacher talks. These students also have knowledge of the
production of different structures and purposes of written and oral English and are able to produce

Great Halifax Explosion Case Study
On December 6 1917, hundreds were left dead in Halifax, Nova Scotia due to a human error quick to
be immortalized. CBC news says the Imo, a Belgian relief vessel that left the Halifax Harbor behind
schedule on the morning of December 6. Another vessel the Mont Blank, a cargo ship leaded with
explosive materials, was entering. The Captain of the Imo disregarded the laws of the sea, going over
the speed limit for the narrows of the harbor and traversing it from the wrong direction. Both the Imo
and Mont Blank moved toward each other, each unwilling to change course. The ships made evasive
maneuvers at the same time, causing the vessels to scrape against each other; the sparks from the
collision set aflame the explosive materials aboard the Mont ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The very existence of disaster photography proves this. Voyeur as defined by the Oxford Dictionary is
a person who enjoys seeing the pain or distress of others. Why would humans continuously
photograph others suffering if they did not gain some pleasure from it? Photographers might say that
the motives of disaster photography are to document and expose horrors around the world. The
intention of the photographer about how the photo should be received and how it is actually received
can be quite different. An example of how humanity s voyeuristic tendencies effects how viewers react
to a photo is given by Susan Sontag in her book Regarding the Pain of Others. When photographs of
suffering are staged, people are surprised to learn they were staged, and always disappointed instead
of celebrating the fact that the suffering was not real (55). This disappointment is felt because of the
need to observe genuine suffering. The photos of the Halifax disaster used to make postcards are real
and it is because of humanity s voyeuristic tendencies that there is a market for these snapshots of

The Impacts of Boccaccio s Writing Style on the Tone of...
Boccaccio s Decameron is a masterpiece of early 14th century European literature; its bawdiness and
its sheer wit are a wonderful, funny indicator of what life was like in 14th century Italy. However, the
central framing device of the book itself the Black Plague, which ravaged Europe around the time of
the book s setting and publication plays a somber but vital role in this important work. The importance
of the plague to the story is no less evident than in the introduction, which demonstrates the awesome
power of the sickness. Boccaccio s account of the plague during the time it hit Florence is often
compared to real accounts and additional sources of information about the Black Plague, but it is often
left wanting due to Boccaccio s penchant for embellishment and dramatic flair. Furthermore,
Boccaccio s emphasis in the introduction of the Black Plague was often on the unstoppability and
sheer terror of the disease, including how swiftly it spread throughout the country and people s
helplessness in treating it. Boccaccio s writing style is very dramatic and humorous, with a particular
emphasis on philosophy as it pertains to luck. The following analysis will weigh the introduction of
the Decameron according to these criteria. Boccaccio starts the Decameron with an introduction that
immediately demonstrates his artistic and dramatic flair Every time I stop to consider your natural
inclination to pity, most gracious ladies, I recognize that you will find the opening

October 27, 2015 TAX FILE MEMORANDUM FROM Student ID # 646070 SUBJECT Katie and
William Charitable Contribution FACTS Recently, Katie and William had a baby named Georgina.
The couple is very famous and collectively worth $300,000,000. On December 3, 2015, the couple
decided to sell the first photos of their newborn baby for $15,000,000 to a national magazine. Katie
and William plan to donate all of the proceeds to the American Red Cross. They wish to complete this
transaction as soon as possible because the paparazzi has been harassing the family. In 2015, the
couple will have a combined adjusted gross income of $8,000,000, without any proceeds from baby
pictures, and will file jointly. Katie and William are expected to be in a similar taxable income
situation in future years and tax rates are not expected to change. ISSUE What are the tax implications
if the couple sells the photos for $15,000,000 and then claim a charitable contribution deduction on
their 2015 joint tax return? Are there any planning strategies to reduce the tax impact of the
transaction? CONCLUSION Katie and William would first have to recognize the $15,000,000
proceeds from the sale of the photo as income along with the couple s combined adjusted gross
income of $8,000,000 for 2015. They will be limited to deducting only $11,500,000 of their charitable
contribution in 2015 because of the 50 percent limitation of adjusted gross income. The remaining

“The American Dream has become a death sentence of...
The American Dream has become a death sentence of drudgery, consumerism, and fatalism: a garage
sale where the best of the human spirit is bartered away for comfort, obedience and trinkets. It s
unequivocally absurd. Zoltan Istvan. In both This Side of Paradise and This Beautiful and Damned, F.
Scott Fitzgerald comments on the corruption of the American Dream. Throughout the beautiful text
and prose of his first and second novels, respectively, Fitzgerald mocks the ghastly nightmare the
American Dream has become. The former follows the story of the downfall of a wealthy, promising
young man struggling to gain romantic success, who enlists in the army along the way, to a poverty
stricken alcoholic struggling to now gain romantic and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The whole idea of rags to riches embodied the work ethic of the 1920s and previous decades as the
idyllic Golden Age of flappers and mobsters thrived. However, the ideology was flawed in itself that
people were striving for money and not happiness. The average American assumed that happiness was
money and were therefore obsessed with the culture of the attaining money. While this was also
mostly a time of attempted moral reinvigoration in the older generations, baring the Prohibition and
all, many would do whatever they could to get what they wanted, which in most cases was money to
buy nice things. Everyone s goal was to become extravagantly wealthy or to die trying. The saddest
part of it all is many went to the grave unable to fulfill their actually quite impossible dream.
Fitzgerald presents these stories in the format of citizens who are already wealthy and actually living
the American Dream so as to make it more glamorous than having seen the grueling work done by
some close relative. This almost further empowers the culture of materialism as it sets the scene, only
to deplore it as the books go on. These people start out pampered and are presumed to become even
more wealthy and powerful but spiral downward as they fail to find happiness in their lavish lifestyles.
In This Side of Paradise, this is exactly the case. In one aspect, Amory Blaine is already

Literary Analysis Of Romeo And Juliet
Formal Literary Analysis Romeo and Juliet To be wronged is nothing, unless you continue to
remember it. In Romeo and juliet by Shakespeare we see two households being torn apart by an
ancient grudge, but is almost resolved due to Romeo, a Montague and Juliet, a Capulet. Shakespeare
uses the destructive nature of holding grudges in Romeo and Juliet to further the plot of the story, and
and to also further character development. Shakespeare uses the destructive nature of holding grudges
in Romeo and Juliet to further the plot and character development. Early in the play the reader sees
that both the Capulets and the Montagues have an Ancient Grudge . this is seen when Tybalt, of house

As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee. Have at thee, coward! (1.5.60 62). Tybalt starts to put tension

What Is My Inspiration Essay
Inspiration doesn t mean trying to impersonate your idol. It means that they have left an impact on
your life that has moved you so much that you make it your quest to pass on that impact to others, so
that they are inspired to do the same. The cycle will go on forever. I have been inspired by number of
people ranging from members of my family, friends, to great personalities who obviously do not know
of my existence on this planet! Some of them are so influential that their motivation and determination
will enable me to reach greater heights. A few inspire me to do better in anticipation that I will make
them proud. In all this, there has been a special personality who has helped me to perceive the brighter
side of striving to achieve excellence.

Money is not a matter of heart; it is a matter of the mind. If you have the will power, you can live
without craving for money. This is what I would like the leaders of today to incorporate into their
lives. This is the main reason Jamsetji thrived. He did not care about the size of his wallet at the end of
his day. He only cared about whether or not he did something for the citizens of the nation.

The superior capabilities of knowledge management systems provide an opportunity for the business
to engage the most effective components and recognize the importance of communication to make
informed, accurate decisions (McGrath, 2001). This system can organize the company s knowledge
resources, knowledge obtaining, organizing, and applying to make a sound routine the will enforce
effectiveness (Niu, 2008). The dynamic function of knowledge management to create, capture, and
apply knowledge to achieve an organization s objective will allow them to be more profitable and
successful (Zucker, 1986). In addition to increasing profits, the system can be also used to reduce
costs and enhance research and development (DeTienne Jackson, 2001). With all of these advantages,
it would be wasteful for a company to not employ knowledge management. As seen in the Discovery
Communications, Inc. example, the company can attribute their new productivity levels and increase
in ease of securing documents to the knowledge management system that put into place by Carefree
Technology. Like Discovery Communications, Inc., knowledge management is so popular today
because companies can collect, process and share knowledge to ignite employees creativity which in
turn will make the business grow. Wenhong and Jianhua (2009) explained the core of knowledge

K2 And Spice
Synthetic cannabis, commonly known as K2 and spice , is a designer drug created to serve as a legal
alternative to marijuana. This recreational drug is simple to obtain in head shops and by internet order.
Marketing for spice is commonly disguised as an herbal compound including the brand name which
also serves as the classification of the synthetic cannabinoid based on structural modifications. Some
examples include CP for cycloexyphenol, AM for alkyl or N methylpiperidine replacements, JWH,
HU, and many more. Similarly to marijuana, K2 is typically smoked via water pipe, within cigarette
paper, or converted into a liquid for placement into electronic cigarettes for inhalation. 1 Synthetic
cannabinoids were created to bind the same receptors as the active compound in marijuana, Δ9
tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2 to obtain the psychotropic effects
such as euphoria. CB1 receptors are located within the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, basal ganglia,

Mercury Contamination
Mercury Mercury is a chemical element of heavy silver and white metal that is liquid at ordinary
temperatures. The main use of mercury is the making of thermometers and barometers. Sometimes
mercury is used as an electrode in the production of batteries. Mercury can be very toxic and harmful
to the human body. If inhaled it can cause destruction to the nervous, digestive, and immune systems
and can even be fatal. Mercury is found in many natural sources such as volcanos, forest fires, and
fossil fuels (coal and petroleum). Studies show power plants to be the largest source of mercury in the
United States. Humans can prevent mercury contamination in several ways. When shopping for items
such as thermometers, try to get them mercury free.

The Green Party Research Paper
The Green Party took off heading to Western Europe and would soon find itself at the other side of the
world and hit the United States. It became extremely popular in Germany, turning from the Value
Party to Die Grnen (the Greens). It was considered the mother of all Green Parties (Arthur) and was
given a strong presence there and later gained many seats. The party still routed in environmentalism
focused on the climate change and global warming lost a lot of popularity to the citizens captivated
with a strong patriotism and little care for the environment. It later teamed up with the Social
Democratic Party but when it began to fail in the polls Germany went back to the conservative
Christian Democratic Party. About 5 years after the Green ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Morality Of God In The Genesis Creation Story And Genesis
Throughout the first Genesis creation story and the Exodus narrative, God demonstrates the love and
concern He has for His people by performing immense acts of hesed. In Genesis, for example, God
creates the world so that human beings can love it and love one another, as they were created with his
image in mind. In Exodus, the Israelites try God s patience again and again, but even still, he
continues to help them and leads them to the Promise Land. Time and time again, God demonstrates
his merciful attitude towards the human race by giving them countless opportunities to be His people.
In Second Isaiah, God is again depicted as showing mercy and love by trying to redeem the Israelites
in preparation for Him to become the God of all nations. Second Isaiah uses recurring examples from
Genesis and Exodus to demonstrate what God has already done for us, and now, what he wants to do
next. In the first Genesis creation story, God already is demonstrating his commitment to the people.
In the Old Testament, it is made evident that the creator is the redeemer, and God s acts of creation are
a sign of his pledge of redemption. The same God who created the beauty of the world and the human
race will also be the God who redeems that human race. In the Book of Isaiah, God speaks through the
prophet and says, My own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand spread out the
heavens...The Lord s chosen ally will carry out his purpose against Babylon (Isa 48:13 14).

Wireless Communication And Control System
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION WITH BCI
Abstract
A Brain Computer Interface is a communication and control system in which human mind can be
translated to the external world without the help of the normal output pathways of muscles and nerves.
Each time we do something or think about doing something, our brain generates distinct signals.
These signals corresponding to an activity, has a pattern. Finding this pattern is a challenging job and
is the main task of any Brain Computer Interface. A BCI acquires these signals from the brain of a
user in the form of Electroencephalography (EEG). Then after pre processing, feature extraction and
classification, it translates these signals into meaningful commands or instructions to drive a device or
application. Electroencephalography is used to record electrical fields that represent the brain signals
and are generated due to the local brain function.
Most of the applications today are only used in computers and just focus on the realization of direction
strategies. To meet the potential increasing user s needs and explore interacting processes with people
s mental states, we design an application that maps signals from the human brain and performs
operations like calling, messaging, gaming and photography. The brain signals are mapped and stored
to create different commands using a series of refined signal processing procedures. These commands
are declared and defined to perform the above mentioned operations like calling, messaging,

Analysis Of Angry Birds Match
What is Angry Birds Match?
Angry Birds Match is Rovio Games sixteenth entry in their ever popular series of action puzzle games
for mobile and tablet devices. The game launched for iOS on November 11th, 2016 and on Android on
August 31st, 2017. The app is available for download on all current iOS and Android devices (later
than Android 5.0). The game also ties into the recently released feature film The Angry Birds Movie
(2016) and its tie in television series, Blues.
The main storyline of this game focuses on you rescuing Hatchlings from pigs by solving puzzles. The
Bad Piggies want to disrupt the eternal party of the Hatchlings via some well placed petty theft for
mysterious, spiteful reasons as yet unknown. This injustice is resolved by you clearing levels to return
the Hatchling s stuff and things to their rightful owners.
Unlike some of the previous games in the series, this entry is a casual gaming puzzler similar in style
to Candy Crush. The gameplay focuses heavily on three in a row tile matching. You must clear your
way through an enormous series of challenge maps across many worlds, stretching to more than 1000
levels. There are many different objectives for each map. These range from simply removing all the
pigs from play to placing different tiles together to reach a set number of combos.
The main game differs quite a bit from Candy Crush, however. If you ve ever played Tetris, Dig Dug,
or Bubble Bobble, you may recognise a few of the casual gaming mechanics here.
Early on, your main objectives will be centred on finding a way to pop the green piggies (the natural
enemy of the enraged avian) by completing block combinations next to them. Features such as glass,
mud, glue, crates, and bricks and some additional objectives will make it harder for you to beat levels
as you progress. Bird based special attacks can also be used to clear levels. Chaining blocks together
in certain ways will cause Red, Chuck, and Bomb to materialise into play. Each has their own style of
special ability with which to use to clear the field.
New to this game is a shop, reward chests, and unique loot. You can progress through purchasing
items with a currency system based around coins and gems. Buying or

The Transformation Of The Land In O Pioneers, By Willa Cather
According to National Geographic, 40% of the Earth today is farmland soil being manipulated to feed
the 7.6 billion human beings on this world. We have taken over this world like ants swarming to a
piece of rotting fruit, without much thought to the organisms that have been on Earth long before us.
Our lives may be easier in that we do not have to forge for our food or water anymore, but with the
stress of today s world, was the tradeoff worth the natural land? Willa Cather s novel, O Pioneers!
brings attention to the way we choose to use the land, whether it is in our best interests, the land s, or
both. The characters in O Pioneers! demonstrate how in order to maintain a successful relationship
with the land we live on, it is necessary to be able to both adapt to the land and mold it to fit our
physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The land around us provides us with food, water, shelter, and
nutrients, but we cannot live in an untouched environment. We must mold the land to meet our
physical needs, yet we cannot be too ruthless and overwork the land. In O Pioneers! the farmers settle
on the Divide, farming and forcing the land to produce the food they needed to survive, but the
majority of the farmers have no luck. After a full twenty years, the tables finally turn and Alexandra
explains to Carl how she has become rich from doing almost nothing at all: We hadn t any of us much
to do with it, Carl. The land did it. It had its little joke. It pretended to be poor

Positive Aspects of Medical Marijuana Essay
Marijuana is the common name for a drug comprised of the leaves and flowering tops of the Indian
hemp plant, cannabis sativa, which can be smoked or eaten for unique feelings. The active ingredient
of marijuana, known as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), is concentrated in the flowering tops of the
Indian hemp plant. In the USA, the legality of marijuana, found to be medically useful by some, has
been a controversial topic for decades (Nahas 1). Today, the 5,000 year medical history of cannabis
has been almost forgotten.
Cannabis sativa has been used therapeutically from the earliest records to the present day. Although
the Chinese and East Indian cultures knew about the properties of this drug from very early times, the

As the AIDS epidemic became prevalent, patients began to use marijuana to decrease the pain caused
by AIDS and AIDS related diseases (Randall and O Leary 200). These new medical uses of cannabis
led to wider folk experimentation. The use of marijuana in the symptomatic treatment of convulsive
disorders, migraine, insomnia, and dysmenorrhea was rediscovered. During Richard Nixon s
campaign on the drug war in the 1970 s, beginning with the establishment of the Office of Drug Abuse
Law
Enforcement (ODALE), marijuana was then confined to Schedule I under the Controlled
Substances Act. This classified marijuana as a drug that has a high potential for abuse, lacks an
accepted medical use, and is unsafe for use under medical supervision (Miller

In November 1996, California endorsed a change in the state s drug laws that contradicted the Drug
Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Office of National Drug
Control Policy (ONDCP). California voters approved Proposition 215, an initiative that made
marijuana legally available as a medicine in the United States for the first time in two generations.
Under the new law, patients or their caregivers who possess or cultivate marijuana for medical
treatment recommended by a doctor would not be subject to criminal prosecution. The
recommendation may be either written or oral and doctors cannot be penalized by the state for making

The Scientific Theory Of Evolution
Since the beginning of time, there have been hundreds if not thousands of myths, legends, and beliefs
of how the human race has come to be. Over the past hundred years, once thought to be candid beliefs
are being pushed around by the scientific theory of evolution. The Bible was written over 1500 years
ago without any scientific backing. Because of its widespread popularity, most people believe it is
correct. When a majority of people believe in something most tend to stay and not wonder off because
of what people will think of them if they do not believe in the same things. While the theory of
evolution has scientific evidence and is relatively new in comparison, it only has around fifteen
percent of the United States. Most will turn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This leads to the first point, Charles Darwin s theory of evolution. His theory states that organism
change over a long period of time making them more suited for their environment. When an organism
has a trait that makes it more likely to survive in its environment while the other organisms die off and
are not able to reproduce is called natural selection. Today there are many signs that a person has, that
show that humans have evolved from a very early stage of man. The very early stage of man was a
bipedal ape like creature that lived in Africa. Archaeologist found a skeletal structure of what is know
to be the oldest know finding of a prehistoric human, lucy. Lucy was found on November 24, 1974.
She is around three point one eight million years old according to carbon dating. One of the major
push factors that show that lucy is a common ancestor of man is that it can walk on legs. As in a
modern human s skeleton, Lucy s bones are rife with evidence clearly pointing to bipedality. Her
distal femur shows several traits unique to bipedality. The shaft is angled relative to the condyles
(knee joint surfaces), which allows bipeds to balance on one leg at a time during locomotion. There is
a prominent patellar lip to keep the patella (knee cap) from dislocating due to this angle. Her condyles
are large and are thus adapted to handling the added weight that results from shifting from four limbs
to two (Michael Hagelberg).

Smoking is an addiction that can lead to very serious health threats, including lung disease, cancer and
stroke. The Campaign for Tobacco Free Children reports startling statistics regarding teen smoking:
Every year more than 300,000 kids under the age of 18 start smoking. Approximately 30 percent of
these new adolescent smokers will die from smoking related causes. Understanding the influences that
cause teens to smoke may help parents find a way to approach their teens so that they won t want to

Peer Pressure
As a part of teens everyday lives, peer pressure can be a strong influence when it comes to smoking

Miranda V. Arizona Case
Introduction The United States Constitution is the framework of our legal system. It provides its
citizens undeniable rights, and federal and state substantive and procedural laws must be obeyed while
not conflicting with the citizens rights in the Constitution. Among these rights are the 5th and 6th
amendments. The 5th amendment states that a person has the right to a grand jury and cannot be tried
twice for the same crime. The 5th amendment further states that person cannot be the witness of
his/her own crime (U.S. Const. Amend. V). The 6th amendment is related to the rights of criminal
defendants. The 6th amendment guarantees criminal defendants with the right to a public trial, the
right to a lawyer, and the right to know the charges and evidence against them (U.S. Const. Amend.

As Martha Ballard writes in her diary, A womans work is never Done as the Song says and Happy is

useful and skilled labor, though it was often derided, mocked, or overlooked. However, the work of
women varied greatly, due to location, social class, race, time period, and more. This essay will focus
on two very different groups of women, early female settlers of the Chesapeake area during the
seventeenth century and the Native American women of the Iroquois Confederacy, spread across
northeastern New York and Ontario during the same time period. Through the analysis, the necessity
of the study of women s work will become evident; it aids historians in understanding women s past:
including gender perceptions, the myriad of experiences faced by different women, and the changes

Though traditional history books paint the workers in the United States as all male, the women were
very much a part of the labor force. However, the way in which labor affected gender roles very much
differed. In some examples, work broke down gender roles. In the rice fields, both male and female
African slaves were forced to work side by side. This is interesting because in rice producing countries
of Africa, women were the sole producers of rice. On the other hand, the British had seen agriculture

the Zhou Dynasty from 1046 226 BCE. China eventually will fall under three more Dynasty s; Qin,

As a nine year old child, Ender should be happy and energized, but what the reader sees through the
novel, Ender gets less like a child and the pressure from before, even though relieved, does still take a

Question: Examine the process of state creation in India through the lens of the short story Toba Tek
Singh written by Saadat Hasan Manto
Toba Tek Singh, a story about India s partition after independence written by Saadat Hasan Manto,
gives the readers an insight into the harsh realities of the process of state creation. Through the non
judgmental and sardonic tone of the narrative, Toba Tek Singh compels the reader to think deeper
about India s birth as a nation. India s partition into two different countries purely on the basis of
religion (Manto, 2011, p. 70) gives us a reality check into how willing we are to accommodate
diversity. Toba Tek Singh urges the readers to ponder over the fact that state creation is an issue
beyond the mere geographical demarcation of borders, because it does not account for the
unquantifiable sentiments that the process affects, as well as propagates.
State creation involves political ideas and the struggle for power taking precedence, with little or no
regard for the opinion of citizens. This means that the state is not being conceived as the sum total of
its people and their interests, but a framework within which power can be exercised. This is evident in
the very first line of the story which says that India and Pakistan had decided to exchange their
lunatics, in the very same way in which they had exchanged their criminals (Manto, 2011, p.70). It

they realize he is not a threat to them, and they quickly became friends with him. This is shown when
the Reardan crowd cheered Junior on after seeing the way the Indians treated him at the first

Polychlorinated Biphenyls Essay
Introduction: I will expound on my point of view in environmentalist interest group to discuss the

inland oil spill catastrophe. The Enbridge pipeline that cracked in Michigan conveyed grimy tar sands
oil from Ontario. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

particularly oil and poisonous metals, regardless of whether the asset is an aquifer, a waterway, a
lowland, a wild rice bed or a lake, despite what is said in the purposeful publicity battles that are slyly
created from the blameworthy mining, vitality or oil organizations whose defective innovation can be
capable. Oil based commodities and overwhelming metals are both equipped for gliding on, blending
with or sinking underneath the water therefore streaming a long way past the mouth of the stream,
connecting to the shoreline or potentially sinking into the slop at the base.
Point of View:
The water, soil and air in the range where mechanical spills happen can be required to stay
contaminated always, similarly as the dangerous metals found in coal powder tailings lakes and coal
let go plants can decimate groups as their lethal ooze and smoke harm the downstream and downwind

  • 2. Analysis Of Snow White And The Seven Drawfs The film of Snow White and the Seven Drawfs (1938) is directed by David Hand (supervising) an animated musical fantasy that film produced by Walt Disney Productions and originally released by RKO Radio Pictures. The film shows the audience how heroism is the major theme because there are good individuals (i.e. the seven dwarfs, the forest animal and the prince) around whom we can count on to do the right thing even when we are in trouble. Surprisingly, the film story is slightly told differently from the original story written by the Grimm brothers. In effect, Disney removes scenes such as [a mother] eating the lungs and liver of her supposedly dead daughter because that the animated film is addressed to young children(Davis, 2009). Not mention, young children would not understand why a mother would want to kill her own daughter out of jealousy. The movie Snow White and the Seven Drawfs has many themes but heroism is the main focus in this paper. In short, heroism is established through costumes, acting style, and lighting. Heroes are dressed in costumes. This is shown in The Evil Queen s Death scene in which the animal sense danger and after attempting to drive [the Witch] away, rush to the mine to fetch the dwarfs, where they try to warn them.nWhen Sleepy suggests that the Queen has found Snow White, the dwarfs rush home to find that the Witch has succeeded in poisoning the princess and it s about to leave. The dwarfs chase the Witch into the mountains and she reaches the cliff. [The Witch] attempts to crush the dwarfs with a boulder nut a flash of lightning causes her to fall from the cliff and be crushed by the boulder herself (The Disney Wiki). The seven dwarfs costumes are different colored stocking caps, tunic, leggings with a black belt with a rectangular outlined buckle, and medieval style shoes. After, the handsome Prince arrives in a custom wearing a red cape, a blue tunic over a white shirt with gray pants, a dagger sheathed at his left hip and boots to kiss Snow White to break the spell of the Sleeping Death. The heroism theme is established in costumes to become the best version of yourself and approachable to those in need. The heroism theme comes through the acting style in Snow White ... • 3. Tale Of Two Cities Inhumanity Essay In France, the years between 1789 and 1799 were a time of thoughtless inhumanity and brutality toward fellow man. These inhumane acts are carried through the by Revolutionaries and the nobility of France in these years and the years leading up to the French Revolution. The best illustration of the inhumanity felt and shown during this time is A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. Dickens uses metaphors as symbols throughout this book to exemplify his theme of thoughtlessness toward people from other people. Dickens develops these metaphors throughout the novel and manipulates them to fit different circumstances. He uses every day objects and ideas and makes them personifications of the Revolution and their unsympathetic mindsets and agendas. The symbols of the scarecrows and the birds of fine song and feather, the sea, and the wine represent the theme of inhumanity in Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities. The scarecrows and the birds of fine song and feather represent the relationship between the peasants and the nobles and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The scarecrows are the starving peasants and the birds of fine song and feather are the lucky nobles. These two were ruthless to one another form the beginning, with their conflicting interests. The sea and its mighty waves crash up onto the shores of the nobles and knock down their high horses. The sea is a wild force, and cannot be contained by human force. The wine is the blood of the Revolution and the insanity of the people who spilled it. Both the wine and the blood it presents give the drinker a sense of drunkenness. The inhumanity in A Tale of Two Cities can only be seen by those who know the future. In the time that the acts of inhumanity take place they seem like deserved acts, when in reality, they are as malicious and heartless as murdering your best ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Report Based On Tweedie And Martinov- Bennie Introduction This report is based on Tweedie and Martinov Bennie (2015), Integrated Reporting (IR), double edged from a perspective of critical sustainability, and pointed out three key distinctive goals as well as strategies. The report seeks to have an insight into IR with an application of accounting theory, and discuss the performance of CPAAustralia regarding IR. The report will be divided into four parts. Institutional Theory and Stakeholder Theory will be utilized to examine IR practices in the Part I and Part II. By reviewing 2014 IR of CPAAustralia, their performance related to the three distinctive goals raised by Tweedie and Martinov Bennie will be discussed in the Part III and IV. Part I The reasons of adopting Integrated Reporting Institutional Theory IR is considered to promote a more cohesive and efficient approach to corporate reporting and aims to improve the quality of information available to providers of financial capital to enable a more efficient and productive allocation of capital (Consultation Draft of the Framework, 2013). As what Eccles and Krzus (2010, p. 3) advised, IR makes it possible to counter integration deficiency that most organisations have. They provide various separate documents, disclosing financial, social and environment responsibilities without linkage. On the other hand, by IR, the report would gain commitment to the environment, social recognition and a more efficient management system (Dragu and Tiron ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Voyeur as defined by the Oxford Dictionary is a person who enjoys seeing the pain or distress of others. Why would humans continuously photograph others suffering if they did not gain some pleasure from it? Photographers might say that the motives of disaster photography are to document and expose horrors around the world. The intention of the photographer about how the photo should be received and how it is actually received can be quite different. An example of how humanity s voyeuristic tendencies effects how viewers react to a photo is given by Susan Sontag in her book Regarding the Pain of Others. When photographs of suffering are staged, people are surprised to learn they were staged, and always disappointed instead of celebrating the fact that the suffering was not real (55). This disappointment is felt because of the need to observe genuine suffering. The photos of the Halifax disaster used to make postcards are real and it is because of humanity s voyeuristic tendencies that there is a market for these snapshots of ... Boccaccio s Decameron is a masterpiece of early 14th century European literature; its bawdiness and its sheer wit are a wonderful, funny indicator of what life was like in 14th century Italy. However, the central framing device of the book itself the Black Plague, which ravaged Europe around the time of the book s setting and publication plays a somber but vital role in this important work. The importance of the plague to the story is no less evident than in the introduction, which demonstrates the awesome power of the sickness. Boccaccio s account of the plague during the time it hit Florence is often compared to real accounts and additional sources of information about the Black Plague, but it is often left wanting due to Boccaccio s penchant for embellishment and dramatic flair. Furthermore, Boccaccio s emphasis in the introduction of the Black Plague was often on the unstoppability and sheer terror of the disease, including how swiftly it spread throughout the country and people s helplessness in treating it. Boccaccio s writing style is very dramatic and humorous, with a particular emphasis on philosophy as it pertains to luck. The following analysis will weigh the introduction of the Decameron according to these criteria. The Morality Of God In The Genesis Creation Story And Genesis Throughout the first Genesis creation story and the Exodus narrative, God demonstrates the love and concern He has for His people by performing immense acts of hesed. In Genesis, for example, God creates the world so that human beings can love it and love one another, as they were created with his image in mind. In Exodus, the Israelites try God s patience again and again, but even still, he continues to help them and leads them to the Promise Land. Time and time again, God demonstrates his merciful attitude towards the human race by giving them countless opportunities to be His people. In Second Isaiah, God is again depicted as showing mercy and love by trying to redeem the Israelites in preparation for Him to become the God of all nations. • 23. Wireless Communication And Control System WIRELESS COMMUNICATION WITH BCI Abstract A Brain Computer Interface is a communication and control system in which human mind can be translated to the external world without the help of the normal output pathways of muscles and nerves. Each time we do something or think about doing something, our brain generates distinct signals. These signals corresponding to an activity, has a pattern. Finding this pattern is a challenging job and is the main task of any Brain Computer Interface. A BCI acquires these signals from the brain of a user in the form of Electroencephalography (EEG). Then after pre processing, feature extraction and classification, it translates these signals into meaningful commands or instructions to drive a device or application. Electroencephalography is used to record electrical fields that represent the brain signals and are generated due to the local brain function. Most of the applications today are only used in computers and just focus on the realization of direction strategies. To meet the potential increasing user s needs and explore interacting processes with people s mental states, we design an application that maps signals from the human brain and performs operations like calling, messaging, gaming and photography. The brain signals are mapped and stored to create different commands using a series of refined signal processing procedures. The game launched for iOS on November 11th, 2016 and on Android on August 31st, 2017. The app is available for download on all current iOS and Android devices (later than Android 5.0). The game also ties into the recently released feature film The Angry Birds Movie (2016) and its tie in television series, Blues. The main storyline of this game focuses on you rescuing Hatchlings from pigs by solving puzzles. The Bad Piggies want to disrupt the eternal party of the Hatchlings via some well placed petty theft for mysterious, spiteful reasons as yet unknown. This injustice is resolved by you clearing levels to return the Hatchling s stuff and things to their rightful owners. Unlike some of the previous games in the series, this entry is a casual gaming puzzler similar in style to Candy Crush. The gameplay focuses heavily on three in a row tile matching. You must clear your way through an enormous series of challenge maps across many worlds, stretching to more than 1000 levels. There are many different objectives for each map. These range from simply removing all the pigs from play to placing different tiles together to reach a set number of combos. The main game differs quite a bit from Candy Crush, however. If you ve ever played Tetris, Dig Dug, or Bubble Bobble, you may recognise a few of the casual gaming mechanics here. Early on, your main objectives will be centred on finding a way to pop the green piggies (the natural enemy of the enraged avian) by completing block combinations next to them. Features such as glass, mud, glue, crates, and bricks and some additional objectives will make it harder for you to beat levels as you progress. Bird based special attacks can also be used to clear levels. Chaining blocks together in certain ways will cause Red, Chuck, and Bomb to materialise into play. Each has their own style of special ability with which to use to clear the field. New to this game is a shop, reward chests, and unique loot. • 26. The Transformation Of The Land In O Pioneers, By Willa Cather According to National Geographic, 40% of the Earth today is farmland soil being manipulated to feed the 7.6 billion human beings on this world. We have taken over this world like ants swarming to a piece of rotting fruit, without much thought to the organisms that have been on Earth long before us. Our lives may be easier in that we do not have to forge for our food or water anymore, but with the stress of today s world, was the tradeoff worth the natural land? Willa Cather s novel, O Pioneers! brings attention to the way we choose to use the land, whether it is in our best interests, the land s, or both. The characters in O Pioneers! demonstrate how in order to maintain a successful relationship with the land we live on, it is necessary to be able to both adapt to the land and mold it to fit our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The land around us provides us with food, water, shelter, and nutrients, but we cannot live in an untouched environment. Positive Aspects of Medical Marijuana Essay Marijuana is the common name for a drug comprised of the leaves and flowering tops of the Indian hemp plant, cannabis sativa, which can be smoked or eaten for unique feelings. The active ingredient of marijuana, known as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), is concentrated in the flowering tops of the Indian hemp plant. In the USA, the legality of marijuana, found to be medically useful by some, has been a controversial topic for decades (Nahas 1). Today, the 5,000 year medical history of cannabis has been almost forgotten. Cannabis sativa has been used therapeutically from the earliest records to the present day. As the AIDS epidemic became prevalent, patients began to use marijuana to decrease the pain caused by AIDS and AIDS related diseases (Randall and O Leary 200). These new medical uses of cannabis led to wider folk experimentation. The use of marijuana in the symptomatic treatment of convulsive disorders, migraine, insomnia, and dysmenorrhea was rediscovered. During Richard Nixon s campaign on the drug war in the 1970 s, beginning with the establishment of the Office of Drug Abuse Law Enforcement (ODALE), marijuana was then confined to Schedule I under the Controlled Substances Act. This classified marijuana as a drug that has a high potential for abuse, lacks an accepted medical use, and is unsafe for use under medical supervision (Miller 103). In November 1996, California endorsed a change in the state s drug laws that contradicted the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP). California voters approved Proposition 215, an initiative that made marijuana legally available as a medicine in the United States for the first time in two generations. Under the new law, patients or their caregivers who possess or cultivate marijuana for medical treatment recommended by a doctor would not be subject to criminal prosecution. The recommendation may be either written or oral and doctors cannot be penalized by the state for making it. A similar but more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Today there are many signs that a person has, that show that humans have evolved from a very early stage of man. The very early stage of man was a bipedal ape like creature that lived in Africa. Archaeologist found a skeletal structure of what is know to be the oldest know finding of a prehistoric human, lucy. Lucy was found on November 24, 1974. She is around three point one eight million years old according to carbon dating. One of the major push factors that show that lucy is a common ancestor of man is that it can walk on legs. As in a modern human s skeleton, Lucy s bones are rife with evidence clearly pointing to bipedality. Her distal femur shows several traits unique to bipedality. The shaft is angled relative to the condyles (knee joint surfaces), which allows bipeds to balance on one leg at a time during locomotion. There is a prominent patellar lip to keep the patella (knee cap) from dislocating due to this angle. Women, like Ballard, contributed useful and skilled labor, though it was often derided, mocked, or overlooked. However, the work of women varied greatly, due to location, social class, race, time period, and more. This essay will focus on two very different groups of women, early female settlers of the Chesapeake area during the seventeenth century and the Native American women of the Iroquois Confederacy, spread across northeastern New York and Ontario during the same time period. Through the analysis, the necessity of the study of women s work will become evident; it aids historians in understanding women s past: including gender perceptions, the myriad of experiences faced by different women, and the changes over that occurred over time. Though traditional history books paint the workers in the United States as all male, the women were very much a part of the labor force. However, the way in which labor affected gender roles very much differed. In some examples, work broke down gender roles. In the rice fields, both male and female African slaves were forced to work side by side. This is interesting because in rice producing countries of Africa, women were the sole producers of rice. Through the non judgmental and sardonic tone of the narrative, Toba Tek Singh compels the reader to think deeper about India s birth as a nation. India s partition into two different countries purely on the basis of religion (Manto, 2011, p. 70) gives us a reality check into how willing we are to accommodate diversity. Toba Tek Singh urges the readers to ponder over the fact that state creation is an issue beyond the mere geographical demarcation of borders, because it does not account for the unquantifiable sentiments that the process affects, as well as propagates. State creation involves political ideas and the struggle for power taking precedence, with little or no regard for the opinion of citizens. This means that the state is not being conceived as the sum total of its people and their interests, but a framework within which power can be exercised.
