Theme Of A Wrinkle In Time
A Wrinkle in Time By Madeleine L Engle is a classic novel about a girl, Meg, her brother, Charles
Wallace, and their friend, Calvin go on an adventure to find their dad, Mr. Murry. Since they couldn t
do it alone, three mystical beings helped them by doing something called tessering. At last, they arrive
at a planet where everyone is the same, Camazotz. IT controls everyone on Camazotz and IT
controlled Charles Wallace. To avoid being controlled, they tesser away from Camazotz. Eventually,
they go back to Camazotz to save Charles Wallace with love. That s why I think that the theme is love
and the message is love overcomes evil. When they arrived on Camazotz, some may think that they
could never save Mr. Murry because they could never fight through IT. Usually, people would get
hypnotized by IT. But Meg and Charles loved him, so they weren t going to back down. So they used
their love to persevere and save Mr. Murry. In the process, Charles gets mind controlled by IT. This
shows how much Charles Wallace loves Meg, Calvin, and Mr. Murry. You can obviously tell that the

Meg wanted to see her father because she loves him. When Meg went to go back to save Charles

he would still be safe. He wouldn t need to worry about anything. Although some many agree with
this, Charles Wallace would get bored and would want to be reunited with his family. You can clearly
see that being mind controlled by IT is similar to being trapped in a box. So then the message is

In the article titled Dying to Work there is an excellent quote given by Rep. Kolbe says, There are no
two countries in the world that share a border where the economic disparities are greater than between
the U.S. and Mexico. (AZ Republic, 2002) My paper draws on the information from the Worldwide
Refugee Information: Country Report: Mexico written in 2000 and the article titled Dying to Work:

Although the USCR tries to help all the people that they possibly can, it would be impossible for them
to help all the refugees that are currently in Mexico. USCR (2002) quoted that there were 432 asylum
seekers filed in Mexico, which is an increase of over 50 percent from 2002. As Mexico remains to day
to continue to be a poverty stricken country, the percentage rate will continue to increase, as will the
illegal immigrants that cross the border each day to search for hope, because they are unable to obtain
refugee status.
For illegal immigrants, it is very dangerous for them to come across. They are risking their lives and
their families lives in search for work. In the deserts that they cross are robbers, murders, no water and
no food. The AZ Republic (2003) estimated that in a year s time, approximately one million people
will get caught trying to sneak illegally into the U.S., and over 1000 will die. According to the USCR
(2002), in July, Mexico began a campaign to amplify the immigration enforcement at the southern
border. The called their campaign Plan Sur , and it was aimed at stopping numerous illegal immigrants
from stepping foot into the U.S. After September 11, hundreds more were deployed to watch the
border from illegal immigrants. Also, The INS has the border wired with high tech gizmos and

Archetypes In The Mist Analysis
Tragedy can be shown with great archetypes. Director Michael Apted used archetypes in Gorillas in
the Mist to show tragedy. Diane Fossey, the tragic hero is put on a quest after seeing Dr. Louis Leaky s
presentation on Gorillas in Africa. She is called to action but in the end falls to a stronger enemy.
Tragedy can be shown using many different archetypes. One type of archetype used was plot. This is
shown by Diane leaving her normal life. As Diane does by going to Africa to study the Gorillas. These
wild creatures intrigue her. She wants to learn all the have to give. This is her quest and the plot to the
story. She wants to save these creatures from poachers. Her life goal is to save them. she must be
courageous and survive in this new place. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In detail Diane is the tragic hero. For example she is an innocent women, who face harsh and
unexpected conditions. She was not prepared for what was coming. This woman had no experience
but in the other hand was determined and passionate about the gorillas. Even though she is determined
she will still fall in the end since she is a tragic hero. Her mentor and the man who got her quest
started was Dr. Louis Leaky. He was an anthropologist who showed her the gorillas in Africa in his
presentation. He even helped her get to Africa and start her quest. When she got there she met
Sembaragre who was a tracker. He is her loyal side kick who will go to anywhere with her. He is an
honest man and Diane can trust him. She also befriends the photographer, Bob Campbell. At first she
dislikes him because the animals didn t like him. On the contrary she became very close to him and
they fall in love. These archetypes help develop the story and make it more

The Interrelationships Between Hospitality And Wider...
P 1.1 Discuss the interrelationships between hospitality and wider travel and tourism businesses The
hospitality and leisure industry hug a variety of sectors and businesses across hotels, restaurants and
restaurants, travel and tourism, gaming, sport and leisure. The sector is reliant on the consumer
confidence and business sentiment and is facing rising pressure to deliver innovation, value and
quality. Hospitality is that business that helps people to feel welcome, relaxed and to enjoy
themselves. It is all about customer service and providing the best quality and experience possible for
the customers. (Discover Hospitality, 2012) The accommodation sector is about giving a warm
welcome and taking the time to give customers a great experience. This sector includes all businesses
that provide a place to sleep as part of their offer to the guests, including hotels, lodges, motels,
backpackers, holiday parks and serviced apartments. This sector works closely next to some other
sectors within the hospitality industry. People frequently enter this moving sector from the fast food
(quick service) outlets, restaurants, bars, cafes, pubs, catering or food services. Hotels were always
major providers of food services, entertainment (business and conference services), leisure and
sporting. (Cooper and Shepherd, 1998) Accommodation subsectors Hotels the most important

Andrew Marvell, “to His Coy Mistress”
Andrew Marvell, To His Coy Mistress In To His Coy Mistress the speaker carefully constructs a subtle
and logical argument as to why his addressee should sexually unite with him. The speaker attempts
this proposition through finesse in manipulating reason, form and imagery. The reasoning employed
would be familiar to a reader educated in Renaissance England, as it is reminiscent of classical
philosophical logic, entailing a statement, a counter statement and a resolution. In line with this
method Marvell s speaker codes his argument in classical imagery. To understand this argument I will
be approaching the poem in three clearly defined sections, which are denoted in the poem with
indented lines. The first of these section ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next section runs from lines 21 to 32, here the speaker moves away from the hypothetical to
reality but retains the melodramatic language used in the previous section to sustain the tenacity of his
points. Time here is portrayed as chasing the speaker as opposed to being something the speaker is in
control of as in the end of the last section. This is done using the image of a winged chariot (l.22), this
has classical associations with Greek mythology which relates to his form of argument. The meter of
the poem is restrictively regular, this structure emphasises the idea that time is constantly progressing;
reflecting the speaker s argument. Space is no longer inhabited by images of movement and life like
the rivers previously mentioned but instead: before us lie / Deserts of vast eternity (ll. 23 4). The
desert has strong connotations with deathliness, an issue that the speaker gruesomely develops upon
and progresses within this section. The speaker implies on lines 26 7 that the only exploration of the
mistress s body that will be undertaken will be by the worms that are decomposing her body if she
remains in her coy state. This thought that her sexuality should not be wasted is elaborated upon with
a crude pun on line 29: And your quaint honor turn to dust which, as the Norton Anthology of Poetry
explains in the footnote, is a play on the Middle English noun queynte which means female genitals.

Was Bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki Necessary to End World...
Plan of Investigation During the time period when Franklin D. Roosevelt was in office, it was during
WWII. Japan attacked the U.S. on Dec. 7, 1941 and was known as Pearl Harbor. When that happened,
Roosevelt did not hesitate to ask Congress to officially declare war on Japan. During the war, there
was a proposal of an atomic bomb landing over Hiroshima and Nagasaki to finalize the war. To this
day there is still controversy that if that atomic bomb was actually necessary to end the war, because
of the number of innocent casualties suffered from the Japanese. The aim of this investigation is to
answer the question: To what extent was the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki necessary to end the
war with Japan? To answer this question, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eisenhower, Japan was already defeated and dropping the bomb was completely unnecessary . Also
throughout the article (Why Hiroshima could have been avoided), by it shows what the comments
from Henry H. Arnold, Commanding General of the U.S. Army Air Forces, had commented on what
he thought of the whole situation. Arnold stated, The Japanese position was hopeless even before the
first atomic bomb fell because the Japanese had lost control of their own air. and also when he
remarked, It always appeared to us, atomic bomb or no atomic bomb, the Japanese were already on
the verge of collapse (Freeman 1). Although, it can be arguable that Japan was strong and would not
go down without a fight and it was just out of the question for them to show that they will surrender
and that the U.S. dropped the atomic bomb in fact to as well save a million American lives (Freeman
1). Even though some may have the perspective of it this way, there is not real factual data on that
vision, plus Japan was already at breakpoint because the Japanese were already short on many
resources and were bound to give in eventually and could no longer last in the war. Some of these
things consisted of food shortages but primarily oil (Weber 1). You could simply notice that the U.S.
may have done this out of revenge simply for what happened at Pearl Harbor but not to end the war.
The war ended in Europe in May 8, 1945, but they did not drop the bomb until 90 days later

Kant On Morality
We will be concerned with Kant s theory on morality and rather or not it is convincing. I will argue
about on how the good will is The only thing that is absolutely good, good in itself and without

wicked acts. Sometimes we assume that if we are successful in life and happy then that s all we need,
but in order to be successful we need integrity and recognition that can steer us in the direction of

My Favourite Friend
It was a pleasant day,I can plainly recall that ,not long ago,we were in class 8th then. The sun was at
the highest point, shining gay,and we three,Arpita Varshneya,Pragati and I,were there in the sun
devising a plan to take revenge on our so called teaser friend, Rishika, the award winning prankster
and our friend from the next door, class 8 B. Friendship with this girl was a kind of compromise for
we three, for she lived in our colony and had known us since childhood.Although, she seemed nice by
her talks,as any new person might be mistaken for her being a nice girl, her other side was known only
to her friends. As I mentioned earlier, she was literally an award winning prankster, the dupes, the
unfortunates who had been fair games of this trickster, must surely have cussed her of her goofy
antics. We have been friends since first grade, but her this side was exposed to me first only when one
day she tried on her favourite magician s,Julius Dein s,trick on me and under the trick s name, ate my
whole pizza. Since then, arpita, pragati and I have always been the victims of her tricks. It was just a
day before that when she, at pragati s birthday party, threw the whole big cake on her face in over
excitement; wretched, we had to survive without the cake on birthday!Back before that, when we were
leaving for home after our coaching class, she perforated the tyre of my bicycle and I had to drag my
bicycle all the way home. And not to forget about the April fools day, such a fearful day

Essay about It s Time to Reform the Endangered Species Act
It s Time to Reform the Endangered Species Act
In 1973, Congress passed the Endangered Species Act. The Act was passed in response to findings by
Congress that growth and development were responsible for the extinction of species of fish, wildlife
and plants.
This Act was to provide programs to protect species identified as either endangered or threatened. It
also mandated Federal agencies and departments to protect endangered and threatened species in their
own operations, as well as work with State and local agencies to further promote conservation and
protection of identified species.
By the definition of the Endangered Species Act, a species covered by the legislation is either
classified Endangered if threatened with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They felt Recovery plans all too often manage for extinction rather than for survival .
The National Wildlife Institute has published Conservation Under the Endangered Species Act: A
Promise Broken . Their critique of the Act includes questioning the programs undertaken as a result of
the Act have played sufficient roles in the recovery of species that were delisted, as well as
questioning the allocation of funding to programs intended to aid listed species.
The National Endangered Species Act Reform Coalition is questioning the effectiveness of the Act, as
well as its impact on people. Pointing to the poor progress of removing species from the Endangered
and Threatened lists, the group calls on reform of the Act, to reform the methods for determining
eligibility for listing, opening the listing and regulatory processes of the Act to include participation
from all groups affected by the legislation, and providing more incentives for private citizens and
businesses to pro actively participate in conservation of listed species.
MY OPINION
While well intended, the Act has some shortcomings, as indicated by the lack of progress in getting
species off the list. This indicates that the programs that are part of the Act are failing to accomplish
their mandated objective.
Also, while biodiversity is crucial to protect, there are natural processes

Book Review: The Culture of Fear: Why Americans are Afraid of the Wrong Things
The Culture of Fear originally published in 1999 but was updated and enlarged for its tenth

vice provost at the University of Southern California. He claims that many Americans concerns and
fears are largely unfounded; therefore, his book is focused on the question of why America happens to
be a nation where fear is highly captivated in most of our social media and seeks to find how and why
people become fearful to certain aspects of society. In his book Glassner also examines and exposes

Essay about Andrew Jackson, an Ideal President for America
Andrew Jackson, seventh president of the United States of America, can be debated as either a good
president or bad president. But if one were to weigh out the positives and negatives of Andrew
Jackson s presidency, one would realize that his positives outweigh his negatives for a variety of
historic facts. Andrew Jackson was a good president because he represented the majority of America s
people by being a common, prevented a civil war when South Carolina threatened to secede from the
nation, and because he technically found or instigated the two major parties used in America today
(Democratic and Republican). Many Jackson oppositionists despise him because of he is a hypocrite,

Jackson is very important because he created or instigated the two dominant political parties we use
today (democratic and republican). The beliefs in these parties switched several times in history but
initially Jackson was a democrat. The major beliefs in democrats in the 1820s 1850s were the beliefs
in a small national government, pro states rights, and a strict interpretation of the constitution. The
republicans (initially known as the Whigs) essentially opposed all of Jackson s beliefs and therefore
had more or less the complete opposite beliefs of the democrats. By starting these two political parties,
he started the way people would categorize political candidates throughout the rest of American
history. There are many who are against Andrew Jackson because he is a hypocrite. An example of
this is how Jackson states he is against slavery but still owned slaves. One has to understand that
America was founded on hypocrisy. Essentially what Jackson is trying to do is to make compromises
on situations so he can support both sides of an argument to represent as many people as possible.
Conclusively Jackson was a great president because he represented the people of America by being a
common man, overcame huge obstacles such as keeping South Carolina from seceding, and by
forming the two most popular political parties used in America today, the Democrats and the
Republicans. Those who argue that Jackson was a bad president simply

Imperialism In Nigeria
The history of Nigeria has been reshaped and affected by the presence of external sources interfering
with Nigerian culture and tradition. Europeans often colonized Nigeria for its central role in the slave
trade, as well as for land and valuable resources. In particular, British occupation and Imperialization
has had a significant impact on the country s history. Colonization benefited the Nigerian people
considerably, allowing the British to then likewise benefit. The British did manage to create for
themselves a hefty profit, and the Nigerian people did also reap the benefits of British colonization.
However, the British did not always rule justly and fairly, eventually leading to the collapse of British
influence in Nigeria.

For instance, directly after the British took control of Nigeria they split it up into two territories, the
Protectorate of Northern Nigeria and the Protectorate of Southern Nigeria. This creates a country that
is literally divided, increasing political and ethnic tensions. This system of governing Nigeria had built
in contradictions, forcing the Nigerian government into a sophisticated form of local government.
While colonization encouraged industry in Nigeria it also forced many people in the country to
migrate to work elsewhere (Falola 17), away from their tribes and culture into more industrialized
cities. The British were constantly paranoid of a possible revolt from the Nigerian peoples, so to
prevent any united opposition to its authority, the British adopted a divide and conquer policy (Falola
40), keeping Nigerian groups separate from one another as much as possible. This only increased the
amount of tribal and cultural diversity, which during this time period usually resulted in disagreements
leading to war. Western culture and education by Christian missionaries was not always accepted, it
often was strongly resisted by Muslim leaders (Falola 67), again only creating additional problems
among the peoples. Because Western education and Christianity spread rapidly in the south and not

Analysis Of Eliezer Wiesel s Night
Eliezer Wiesel is a Nobel Prize winning writer, teacher and activist known for the novel Night, in
which he recounts his experiences surviving the Holocaust. After he was freed from Buchenwald in
1945, Wiesel went on to study at the Sorbonne in France from 1948 1951 and took up journalism,
writing for the French and the Israeli publications. His friend, Francois Mauriac encouraged him to
write about his experiences in the camps; Wiesel then published in Yiddish the memoir And the World
Would Remain Silent in 1956. The book was shortened and published in France as La Nuit, and as
Night for English readers in 1960. The memoir became an acclaimed bestseller, translated up to 30
languages, and is considered an influential work on the terrors of the Holocaust. Night was later
followed by two novels, Dawn (1961) and Day (1962), to form a trilogy that looked closely at
humankind s destructive treatment of one another. Teaching was one of Wiesel s passion, having been
appointed in the mid 1970s as Boston University s Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities. He
also taught Judaic studies at the City University of New York, and served as a visiting scholar at Yale.
Wiesel went on to write dozens of books, including Town of Luck (1962), The Gates of the Forest

and the memoir All Rivers Run to the Sea (1995). Wiesel has also become a respected international

Dyeing your hair for the first time can be a wonderful experience. To avoid any disappointment, we
will be providing you some tips to avoid any unpleasant surprise for this first experience.
Buy enough dye
Depending on the length of your hair and also your desired color, you might need to purchase more
than one box of hair dye. For instance if you have shoulder length hair, you might want to ensure that
you have 3 or 4 boxes of hair dyes at hand. It is better that you have more than enough dye rather than
panicking halfway during your dyeing session.
Choose the correct formula
Not all hair dyes are created equal and it is important that you choose the one that best suits you.

This will avoid any unnecessary strain on your hair and also minimize the amount of upkeep you
need. You can gradually go for darker colors if you want but keep it real for the first time. Also
choosing a lighter color will allow you to make corrections in case you do not like it. It is easier to
darken hair in case you do not like it.
Skin tone
When choosing a color for the first time make sure that you choose a shade that is appropriate for your
skin tone. Some people just want their hair to look like their friends without paying attention to their
own skin color. Browse the web for celebrities that have similar skin tone with you and check out their
hair color. Choose something that is appropriate and not just fashionable.
Do not wash your hair
It is easier to dye unwashed hair because the natural oil found in your scalp protect it from any harsh
chemical irritant. If you know that you are going to dye your hair soon just skip washing your hair. At
the same time, this facilitates combing which can be useful for even color distribution.

notable handicap. To achieve such an end, preimplantation genetic diagnosis is sometimes offered to
the minority of persons who have in vitro fertilization. Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is a
technique used to test for certain genetic abnormalities in embryos produced by in vitro fertilization
prior to implantation in the uterus. The screening for genetic defects occurs at the six to ten cell stage
of embryonic development. Using polymerase chain reaction, the cellular DNA is tested for
chromosomal abnormalities or genetic mutations. The embryos found to have serious genetic
disorders are either discarded or frozen indefinitely. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They feel that prospective parents should have the right to use existing embryo screening tests to
determine all possible characteristics of offspring. Unless a tangible harm to specific individuals can
be evidenced, those of this belief argue that selection of offspring traits is a liberty all parents should
have (Harris 185). George Annas, chairman of the Health Law Department at the Boston University
School of Public Health, writes from this viewpoint, Prenatal tests become a consumer product, and as
with other consumer products it should be up to the individual whether or not to buy the product, and
physicians and companies should be free to advertise and sell the product in any misleading way
(Annas 265). Annas fears that such an attitude will make parents more likely to perceive their children
as products rather than people. Another likely harm may be that prenatal testing will only be a feasible
option for the wealthy. If the likelihood of genetic disease in the wealthy decreases and other citizens
do not have access to PGD, will genetic disease perhaps be associated only with the economically
unprivileged? Others may argue that parents already try to shape their children in certain ways, and
adding the genetic dimension to their influence would not be very different. For example, Robertson
writes: Parents now have wide discretion to enhance offspring traits after birth with actions that range
from the purely social and educative, such as special tutors and training camps, to the physio
medico...such actions may give the child advantages over other children, exacerbate class and
socioeconomic differences, and risk treating the child like a product or object to serve the parent s
interests. Yet they fall within a parent s discretion in rearing offspring, and could not constitutionally
be banned (Robertson 164). PGD is perfectly permissible in terms of law,

Biochemical Causes Of Depression Research Paper
There is no single cause for depression. Depression can be caused by one or more factors. Some
people are more likely to have depression than others. There are different reasons that attempt to
explain this predisposition: Inheritance: There is an increased risk of clinical depression when there is
a family history of the disease, indicating they may have inherited a biological predisposition. This
risk is somewhat higher for people with bipolar disorder. However, not all people who have a family
history will have the disease. In addition, severe depression can also occur in people who have no
family history of the disease. This suggests that there are additional factors that can cause depression,
whether biochemical or environmental stressors, and other psychosocial factors. ... Show more content

It is known, for example, that people with severe depression typically have imbalances of certain
chemicals in the brain, known as neurotransmitters. In addition, sleep patterns, which are affected by
the biochemistry of the body, are generally different in people with depressive disorders. Depression
can be induced or alleviated with certain medications, and some hormones can alter moods. What is
not yet known is whether the biochemical imbalance of depression are genetic or is caused by stress,

These terrorist groups use murder, bombs, threats, and other violent acts to get their way politically.

The Chinese Expansion And Territorial Claims Within The...
The Chinese expansion and territorial claims in the South China Sea is escalating tensions with
surrounding countries and the United States. As the National Security Council summons to discuss
this matter, I embrace the role of the Secretary of Defense. A brief explanation of this job is, Under the
President, who is also Commander in Chief, the Secretary of Defense exercises authority, direction,
and control over the Department, which includes the separately organized military departments of
Army, Navy, and Air Force, the Joint Chiefs of Staff providing military advice, the unified and
specified combatant commands, and various defense agencies established for specific purposes
(unt.edu). Furthermore, it is important to understand that persons in the position of Secretary Defense
are a member of the cabinet, appointed by the president. This piece of information is pivotal in order
to fathom the idea that the Secretary of Defense is subject to modification with every transformation
of administration, hence sanctioning only a small amount of continuity in military strategy. The
responsibility coveted by the Secretary of Defense at this conference that can be inferred from the
duties outlined above is, collaboration with all constituents of the Department of the Defense in the
direction of providing the best recommendation regarding resolution of the tensions over the South
China Sea. The focal point of this recommendation will be a military strategy and the manner in which

More employees are converting to telecommuting due to a variety of reasons. The current business
paradigm shift recognizes that space and time no longer contractually define the mode and nature of
work. Workers do not have to go to where the work is instead, work is now sent to where the workers
are in homes, satellite offices, and neighborhood work centers, (Nyaanga, 2012). Author Solomon
makes a valid point in his article since many people do not want to do the daily commute five to six
days a week. Not only does it waste actual work time, money for transportation, but also the
convenience capabilities for employees. The convenience certainly applies to employees who do not
live close to the office setting or live in a very populated area with heavy traffic.
Telecommuting Advantages
For over 30 years, the workplace has undergone a series of transformations such as the integration of
technology into business work design, product innovation, development, processes, performance,
delivery, productivity, creativity, competitiveness, and worker flexibility, (Nyaanga, 2012). Having the
technology accessible to the Intel of employee s homes enables more employees to have the

Painting The Exterior And Interior Of The House
Like Claude Monet, colours may or may not be your daylong obsession, but as someone receptive to
the subtle tonal changes you are bound to feel the absence of the same in your surrounding most
acutely. For that simple reason, you cannot simply imagine living in a home devoid of colours.
Painting the exterior and interior of the house
To transform your house into an elegant and comfortable home, you need the assistance of many
qualified personnel including professional painters. Professional painters in %{city} play a significant
role in improving the quality and liveability of the newly built structure you are about to call home.
The necessity of painting the exterior of the house as well as the interior ones is driven by aesthetic
considerations. But that is not the only reason behind opting for professional wall painting. There are
several other benefits that we hardly take a note of. High quality exterior paint increases the life of the
masonry work. Your house becomes better equipped to withstand the elements of nature.
Right colour scheme augments the curb appeal of your house. Colours have considerable social and
cultural impact too. Vibrantly colourful houses typical to St John s in Newfoundland and Labrador or
Lunenburg in Nova Scotia are not so common in other parts of the country. By their colourful nature
you can identify these cities instantly. It would be difficult to imagine a lacklustre building in middle
of St John s and Lunenberg.

Essay on Hair Loss Treatments
An effective hair loss treatment can proceed after indentifying the cause of hair loss.
Hair loss is a condition affecting both men and women. There are several causes of hair loss. In men,
hereditary factors play an important role in hair loss. Such a condition is termed as male pattern
baldness or androgenetic alopecia. This is linked to elevated levels of DHT in the scalp. This is
characterized by hair loss in the temples and top regions of head and presence of thinning hairs
elsewhere.
Ageing also causes some hair loss naturally. The side effects of some drugs also results in hair loss.

the blood vessels, which helps stimulate hair growth.
It increases the supply of nutrients to hair follicles and also prevents the shrinkage of hair follicles.
This helps in preventing hair loss and promotes hair re growth. Minoxidil helps in opening up the
potassium channels. This has been found for preventing hair loss in males and females.
Minoxidil acts best for hair loss occurring in the crown region of the scalp.

Similarities Between Theatre And Hospitality Industry
Comparing theatre and the hospitality industry is like comparing apples and oranges they have a
surprising amount of similarities while retaining their own individual characteristics. Theatre is the art
of performing on stage. Employees have a wide range of skills in order to produce a performance that
guests will enjoy. On the opposite side of the spectrum, hospitality involves restaurant and hotel
management, event planning, and tourism. Much of the industry is centered around providing the best
experience possible for customers, as is theatre. While hospitality workers are not actors or crew
members, employees in both industries strive to provide the best experience for their guests. Both
theatre and hospitality offer intangible goods and services, require a great amount of practice outside

Dr. Strangelove, Attitudes Towards the Atomic Bomb and Cold War
Less than two years after the United States society had been scared almost to death by the Cuban
Missile Crisis, 1964 the movie Dr. Strangelove was released to the movie theatres and showed the
country the end of the world. Advertised as the film of the era, Dr. Strangelove severely teased the
President, the entire military defense establishment, and the rhetoric of the Cold War. At that time, the
nation that was living through the stress of the nuclear arms race, and had confronted the real outlook
of nuclear war. The satiric treatment of the nation s leaders was a release from deep doubts and
pressures. The Cold War is well known not only for its long assignation among the two super powers,
the U.S. and the Soviet Union, but also because of the delicate physical pressure that nuclear power
brought to the global stage.
Viewed, however, in its context of the Cold War and nuclear proliferation, the conditions of the Cold
War made it different than former international wars, because it was the first conflict that could
hypothetically lead to enormous, global destruction. Without the hazards of nuclear power, the Cold
War wouldn t have differed much from previous historical conflicts between powerful states. Stanley

Beveridge Report On The Welfare State
This essay will discuss the key points of the Beveridge report (1942), and evaluate the significance of
the report on the welfare state. In November 1942, William Beveridge presented a report called, Social
Insurance and Allied Services to parliament. This was a summary of principles to improve upon the
existing welfare benefits system, to benefit working people and the population. The document
proposed a new system to be operated by one governing agency, called Social Security. This would be
put in place by the state after World War 2 had ended. Overall Beveridge created the most
revolutionary document in our history. Beveridge has played a significant role in evolving the Welfare

Administration The Social Insurance scheme would need to make big changes to the administration
process for this scheme to run smoothly and be successful. Beveridge wanted every worker to obtain
one insurance document weekly, rather than two. He saw this as an opportunity for the new system to
be under one governing agency called The Ministry of Social Security. The new system also
implemented classes to the National Insurance scheme, such as: Class I for employees: Class II for
Employers, traders, self employed and any other independent workers: Class III Housewives (this has
now been amended for all people of working age, who have had a break in employment, or earn too
little for it to be recorded): Class IV Others of working age or not working (self employed).
The National Insurance scheme is still in force today, some changes have since been made to the
insurance classes, but it still has the same point. The class you pay depends on your employment
status and how much you earn, and whether you have any gaps in your National Insurance record. A
great way to make the National Insurance more functional was changing the original two piece
document just to one. Over 20 million people received these documents, so in essence this saved time,
money and paperwork. Beveridge s overall goal was to set in motion a strong Social Insurance
Scheme that was functional and up to date, benefiting all involved to make the

Military Trade Patterns
U.S. Military Engagement And Trade Patterns. Why is trade and war happening at the same time?
There are many theories that try to explain this events happening at the same time and place.

explains the trading during war exported from the U.S to all over the world. It explains in detail why
trade was going on during war, benefits to our nation with the export and import of textiles , it helped
U.S troops defeat the Barbary pirates. Trade during war has been happening since early times dating

Yet , and of course, one nation gets greater benefits than the rest. U.S is a big and rich nation big part
of it is due to trading. As it can be seen, U.S is in war while trading, yet pirate attacks were a huge
setback for America costing te 20% of America s budget which was a huge amount of money to spend
on the pirates. In Fact most of their trading occurs while being in war. This is because the U.S always
wants to be the nation that benefits the most. In the long run this desire creates problems and leads to
issues among nations involved in this bias trade. Above all, this taboo event benefits the U.S army
greatly. While U.S trading with nations occurs, the U.S gets an advantage by controlling some of the

Emmett slept with his niece. Emmett lived off his sister. Emmett seduced high school girls. He had
killed babies in Vietnam. But he was popular, and Emmett didn t care what some people said (In
Country 31). Her father died in the Vietnam war before she was born and she begins to wonder what
was his personality like or what kind of conversations did he carry when he was alive. Many family
members described Sam s father as a very funny and charismatic person. Sam s mother left her in
Hopewell to stay with her Uncle Emmett and got married to a man that lived in Lexington and started
a new family. Her mother left the town because she was trying to fill in that void or erase the hurt she
experienced from the passing of Sam s father. In Charger, a teenage boy battles his emotions and races
along the interstate from state to state searching for answers as to why his father abandoned him and
his mother without notice. He undergoes a few challenges and psychological obstacles as he tries to
find justification for why his dad left abruptly with no explanation, I m so depressed, I m liable to just

Rosenberg Trial Research Paper
In The Rosenberg Trial, every witness we heard from, accused Julius as a spy, even his good friend,
Max Elitcher. Julius tried to get Max to pass information, but he was not the only one who said that
Julius tried to get in contact with. Elizabeth Bentley recieved many phone calls from a man named
Julius. Although, Julius said David Greenglass has used his name before. David Greenglass is the
brother in law of Julius. David Greenglass was apart of the Manhatten Project, and traded scetches of
the atomic bomb for five hundred dollars, therefore he proved he may not be as innocent as we think
he is. His wife, Ruth Greenglass, was also in contact with Julius. She said Julius had been in contact
witht the Russians. She engaged her husband in espionage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He is a drunk who did not know the Rosenburgs. He paid Amercian spies to gain information. He was
the one that paid David Greenglass for the setches of the Manhatten Project. The FBI later found
everything, which sentenced him to thirty years in prison. Hary proved he may be guilty for
espionage, as well as every other person who was a witness. In this trial, I do not think anyone is
completely innocent. Everyone admitted something bad that they had done. Every witness I have
mentioned admitted they were apart of the communist party. They all were in contact with spies. This
leaves me questioning how would an average person have contact with a spy? The two that were
accused, spoke. Although Julius admitted to being a communist once, his wife, Ethel, said she never
was. Julius had been fired due to the fact that he used to be communist. To be clear, he had already left
the communist party. Later on, he addmitted he admires the USSR. He denied ever having ties on a
deal with David Greenglass, although there were witnesses. I believe Julius was not saying enough,
therefore making him seem like he was not innocent. If there would have been less people speaking
against Julius, I would believe that Julius may have been innocent, but for some reason, there were
five people speaking against him. They all had something to say about Julius trying to pass on
information. He obviously obtained information that he was not entitled to have, making it a

lovers with the wide range of action it makes available.
Seemingly attempting to cater to all audiences, is the The Olympic Slots worthy of the gold medal?
There is only one way to find out!
Into the heart of competition
As you could tell from the name, The Olympic Slots is designed to be a online casino homage to the
real Olympic Games. As this is the case, there are plenty of Olympic themed symbols to be found in
this game. The game also uses a really attractive and simple user interface. Visually, iSoftBet probably
aren t considered one of the most prolific online slots developers out there, however, there is certainly
an argument that the release of The Olympic Slots could change that image. Simply put, The ... Show

Irony In Flannery O Connor s Good Country People
Unlike Alanis Morissette, Flannery O Connor used irony in a much subtler fashion in her work. O
Conner s unique use of literary tools is one reason she is considered one of the best short story authors
of the 20th century (Biography.com ). O Connor s use of irony is especially evident in the short story
Good Country People. Equally important is O Connor s use of clichés. The typical cliché lacks any
substance. Ironically, clichés expressed in Good Country People depict abstract ideas. O Connor s
unique combination of clichés and irony forces readers discern deeper concepts within the text.
However, the readers ability to grasp these concepts hinges on paying close attention to the character
depictions of Mrs. Hopewell, Hulga Hopewell, and Manely Pointer. ... Show more content on

Hopewell s character is restricted to the use of clichés such as that is life and nothing is perfect (O
Connor). Mrs. Hopewell s use of clichés extends beyond dialogue. For Mrs. Hopewell, clichés
represent her frame of mind. Mrs. Hopewell implies that she has an optimistic nature and is always
hoping for the best (Kirk 73). Although harmless on the surface, this perspective makes Mrs.
Hopewell blindly optimistic. Throughout the short story, Mrs. Hopewell correlates good country
people to the salt of the earth . Mrs. Freeman and her two daughters, Glynese and Carramae, are her
primary examples of good country people. Mrs. Hopewell does not miss an opportunity

The Effects Of Alcohol On Alcohol Abuse Essay
Dependance on alcohol has been around ever since its creation and records of writing existed. From
Biblical commandments clearly restricting the drink due to its destructive and addictive nature to the
celebrities on tv screens and music devices glorifying the substance, alcohol has always been part of
various cultures. Being the number one drug problem in the U.S with over 12 million people
reportedly being alcoholics and of those 7 million being binge drinkers between the ages 12 20, it
comes as no surprise that beneath its shiny and glamorous exterior, this drink comes with its set of
problems ( Alcohol Abuse Statistics. ). In American society today many people think that being an
alcoholic simply stems from laziness and the lack of will to simply stop. There is much more to this
disorder than having one too many drinks at a bar that people are either ignorant to or just ignore for
the sake of judging other individuals. Just like famous English philosopher,William Penn, said: All
excess is ill, but drunkenness is of the worst sort. It spoils health, dismounts the mind, and unmans
men. It reveals secrets, is quarrelsome, lascivious, impudent, dangerous and mad. ( Alcoholism
Quotes. ). So with all these consequences associated with alcohol, why do people drink? What is
alcoholism? Who does it affect? Why does it happen? How can it be solved? Dependance on alcohol,
otherwise known as alcoholism is defined as a treatable chronic disease where your body becomes

Julius Ceaser Essay
Julius Ceaser Julius Caesar Julius Caesar was born on July 13th in 100B.C. His full name is Gaius
Julius Caesar, which was the same as his father s name. Julius Caesar was the most famous Roman
general and was one of the most influential political and military leaders in history. He helped
establish the vast Roman Empire. Caesar gained all his power in four different areas. Those areas are
politics, government, religion, and in the military. Using these amazing powers he controlled many
aspects of Roman life. In 84B.C. Caesar married Cornelia, the daughter of Lucis Cornelius Cinna, a
noble who was Marious associate in revolution. Lucis Cornelius Sulla demanded they divorce in 83,
but Caesar refused, risking his job and his life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They gained control of Rome but soon split up by rivalries.
Crassus died fighting in the East and Caesar went to Gaul and Britain. Pompey feared Caesar s power
and allied himself to the Senate. Between 58B.C. and 49B.C. Caesar conquered more territory in Gaul.
He also led two expeditions to Britain. Caesar was going to seize power in Rome. He crushed an army
led by Pompey. This left Caesar in charge of the military in Rome. It also signified the end of the
Roman Republic. In 44B.C he was appointed dictator for life and in the same year was assassinated.
Before his death he introduced reforms that helped strengthen Rome and protect his own power. He
distributed land and money to the poor and granted Roman citizenship to people in provinces outside
Italy. He also reduced unemployment by creating many building projects and increased the soldiers
pay. He introduced a new calendar that was more accurate. It was based on the Hellenistic astronomy.
It was called the Julian Calendar and was used in Europe until 1582A.D. Even though the Senate and
Assembly of tribes continued to exist, he still had total power.
However many people referred to him as a tyrant and that he was destroying the Republic. Other
people were jealous of all his popularity. Whatever the reason, on March 15th 44B.C. a group of
conspirators that were led by Gaius Cassius and Marcus Brutus stabbed Julius Caesar

As Mexico remains to day to continue to be a poverty stricken country, the percentage rate will continue to increase, as will the illegal immigrants that cross the border each day to search for hope, because they are unable to obtain refugee status. For illegal immigrants, it is very dangerous for them to come across. They are risking their lives and their families lives in search for work. Andrew Marvell, “to His Coy Mistress” Andrew Marvell, To His Coy Mistress In To His Coy Mistress the speaker carefully constructs a subtle and logical argument as to why his addressee should sexually unite with him. The speaker attempts this proposition through finesse in manipulating reason, form and imagery. The reasoning employed would be familiar to a reader educated in Renaissance England, as it is reminiscent of classical philosophical logic, entailing a statement, a counter statement and a resolution. In line with this method Marvell s speaker codes his argument in classical imagery. To understand this argument I will be approaching the poem in three clearly defined sections, which are denoted in the poem with indented lines. The first of these section ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The next section runs from lines 21 to 32, here the speaker moves away from the hypothetical to reality but retains the melodramatic language used in the previous section to sustain the tenacity of his points. Time here is portrayed as chasing the speaker as opposed to being something the speaker is in control of as in the end of the last section. This is done using the image of a winged chariot (l.22), this has classical associations with Greek mythology which relates to his form of argument. The meter of the poem is restrictively regular, this structure emphasises the idea that time is constantly progressing; reflecting the speaker s argument. Space is no longer inhabited by images of movement and life like the rivers previously mentioned but instead: before us lie / Deserts of vast eternity (ll. 23 4). The desert has strong connotations with deathliness, an issue that the speaker gruesomely develops upon and progresses within this section. The speaker implies on lines 26 7 that the only exploration of the mistress s body that will be undertaken will be by the worms that are decomposing her body if she remains in her coy state. This thought that her sexuality should not be wasted is elaborated upon with a crude pun on line 29: And your quaint honor turn to dust which, as the Norton Anthology of Poetry explains in the footnote, is a play on the Middle English noun queynte which means female genitals. • 7. Was Bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki Necessary to End World... Plan of Investigation During the time period when Franklin D. Roosevelt was in office, it was during WWII. Japan attacked the U.S. on Dec. 7, 1941 and was known as Pearl Harbor. When that happened, Roosevelt did not hesitate to ask Congress to officially declare war on Japan. During the war, there was a proposal of an atomic bomb landing over Hiroshima and Nagasaki to finalize the war. To this day there is still controversy that if that atomic bomb was actually necessary to end the war, because of the number of innocent casualties suffered from the Japanese. Arnold stated, The Japanese position was hopeless even before the first atomic bomb fell because the Japanese had lost control of their own air. and also when he remarked, It always appeared to us, atomic bomb or no atomic bomb, the Japanese were already on the verge of collapse (Freeman 1). Although, it can be arguable that Japan was strong and would not go down without a fight and it was just out of the question for them to show that they will surrender and that the U.S. dropped the atomic bomb in fact to as well save a million American lives (Freeman 1). Even though some may have the perspective of it this way, there is not real factual data on that vision, plus Japan was already at breakpoint because the Japanese were already short on many resources and were bound to give in eventually and could no longer last in the war. Some of these things consisted of food shortages but primarily oil (Weber 1). But if one were to weigh out the positives and negatives of Andrew Jackson s presidency, one would realize that his positives outweigh his negatives for a variety of historic facts. Andrew Jackson was a good president because he represented the majority of America s people by being a common, prevented a civil war when South Carolina threatened to secede from the nation, and because he technically found or instigated the two major parties used in America today (Democratic and Republican). Jackson is very important because he created or instigated the two dominant political parties we use today (democratic and republican). The beliefs in these parties switched several times in history but initially Jackson was a democrat. The major beliefs in democrats in the 1820s 1850s were the beliefs in a small national government, pro states rights, and a strict interpretation of the constitution. The republicans (initially known as the Whigs) essentially opposed all of Jackson s beliefs and therefore had more or less the complete opposite beliefs of the democrats. By starting these two political parties, he started the way people would categorize political candidates throughout the rest of American history. There are many who are against Andrew Jackson because he is a hypocrite. An example of this is how Jackson states he is against slavery but still owned slaves. One has to understand that America was founded on hypocrisy. Essentially what Jackson is trying to do is to make compromises on situations so he can support both sides of an argument to represent as many people as possible. Conclusively Jackson was a great president because he represented the people of America by being a common man, overcame huge obstacles such as keeping South Carolina from seceding, and by forming the two most popular political parties used in America today, the Democrats and the Republicans. They feel that prospective parents should have the right to use existing embryo screening tests to determine all possible characteristics of offspring. Unless a tangible harm to specific individuals can be evidenced, those of this belief argue that selection of offspring traits is a liberty all parents should have (Harris 185). George Annas, chairman of the Health Law Department at the Boston University School of Public Health, writes from this viewpoint, Prenatal tests become a consumer product, and as with other consumer products it should be up to the individual whether or not to buy the product, and physicians and companies should be free to advertise and sell the product in any misleading way (Annas 265). Annas fears that such an attitude will make parents more likely to perceive their children as products rather than people. Another likely harm may be that prenatal testing will only be a feasible option for the wealthy. If the likelihood of genetic disease in the wealthy decreases and other citizens do not have access to PGD, will genetic disease perhaps be associated only with the economically unprivileged? Others may argue that parents already try to shape their children in certain ways, and adding the genetic dimension to their influence would not be very different. For example, Robertson writes: Parents now have wide discretion to enhance offspring traits after birth with actions that range from the purely social and educative, such as special tutors and training camps, to the physio medico...such actions may give the child advantages over other children, exacerbate class and socioeconomic differences, and risk treating the child like a product or object to serve the parent s interests. Beveridge wanted every worker to obtain one insurance document weekly, rather than two. The new system also implemented classes to the National Insurance scheme, such as: Class I for employees: Class II for Employers, traders, self employed and any other independent workers: Class III Housewives (this has now been amended for all people of working age, who have had a break in employment, or earn too little for it to be recorded): Class IV Others of working age or not working (self employed). The National Insurance scheme is still in force today, some changes have since been made to the insurance classes, but it still has the same point. The class you pay depends on your employment status and how much you earn, and whether you have any gaps in your National Insurance record.
