I read The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, a 250 page novel published on October 1,
1996. This book can be classified as realistic fiction, but is considered to be a
romance novel due to the heart pulling plot line of two star crossed lovers. My
attention was caught quickly when I saw this book, because I had watched the
movie with my girlfriend which motivated me to read it. It took me about three
days to read behind Mrs. Kosters desk, each day during the same week; it was a quick
and easy read. This work was completely fiction; however, Sparks was inspired by
his wife s beloved grandparents. They had spent over sixty years together, with their
story being shared with Sparks and his wife, inspiration from their lovemade its way

Operant Conditioning Analysis
When I was young, I was very afraid of deep or large bodies of water. I would
scream and thrash and refuse to go into the water deeper than my knees. While
occasionally I still become nervous, I now have mostly overcome this fear. After
analyzing this fear through classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and social
cognitive learning, I have come up with a few explanations for the origin, and
alteration, of this behavior. I first tried to explain my behavior by learning about

Nitobe Inazo and his widely international popular book, influenced the way Japan
was viewed by Americans and the rest of the world during modern times (1900 45).

My beliefs, morals, values, and views on my culture are based upon my upbringing,

There are also indications of increased financial fragility. Internationally, fragility
was evident in the run of financial crises that afflicted the global economy in the late
1990s and early 2000s, and it has surfaced again in the recent U.S. sub prime
mortgage crisis that spread to Europe.
Furthermore, there are serious reservations about the sustainability of the
financialization process. The last two decades have been marked by rapidly rising
household debt income ratios and corporate debt equity ratios. These developments
explain both the system s growth and increasing fragility, but they also indicate
unsustainability because debt constraints must eventually bite. The risk is when this
happens the economy could be vulnerable to debt deflation and prolonged recession.
These macroeconomic concerns are compounded by concerns about income
distribution. Thus, the era of financialization has witnessed a disconnection of wages

from productivity growth, raising serious concerns regarding wage stagnation and
widening income and wealth inequality (Mishel et al. 2007).
The financialization thesis is that these changes in macroeconomic patterns and
income distribution are significantly attributable to financial sector developments.
Those developments have relaxed constraints on access to finance and increased the
influence of the financial sector over the non financial sector. For households this has

Allen Diles, in A Comparison of Nicholas of Pelhrimov and the Taborite Restoration
with Alexander Campbell and the American Restoration Movement, attempts to relate
religious movements that occurred more than four centuries apart: the Taborite
Restoration and the American Restoration. Further focus is place on the leaders of
these movements, Nicholas of Pelhrimov and Alexander Campbell. A connection
between these two men is scarcely made; moreover, many students of religion are
ignorant to the existence of the Taborite Restoration and Nicholas of Pelhrimov. Diles
endeavor to connect these men and the reformation movements they were involved in
was lucrative, as it connected a semi modern movement with a little known medieval
movement, but his presentation of the connection between these movements prevents
the connection from emerging in a manner as compelling as it possibly could have.
Diles composes his article in response to the neglect of the Hussite movement, of
which the Taborites formed the radical wing of, in modern times and the often
exclusion of Nicholas of Pelhrimov, an individual whom he feels was critical, when
the Hussite movement is studied. In his thesis, Diles states, Although Nicholas
himself is obscure to Americans and among scholars of the Stone Campbell
Movement, the Taborite movement is rarely mentioned, and examination of Nicholas
and his movement reveals striking similarities in thought, if not in form, between the

Definition of Problem The problem presented within this particular situation centers
around the high number of sales for the next year being predicted by the sales
department. The owners of the company, Mr. Sparks and Ms. Cash, based on their
experiences, believe these numbers to be unrealistic and want more accurate numbers
to be calculated. However, upon interviewing those within the salesdepartment, it is
found they see no problem in their numbers and are quick to provide reasons for
them. They exhibit a very high level of confidence in their ability to deliver. Lastly,

Developments in Improving Care for People with Special
Needs
How a society treats its disabled is the true measure of a civilization (Chen, 2012).
Such notion may indicate how significant it is for a certain society to be less
ignorant of the disabled. Living with disabilities can be challenging, particularly for
those who live without a solid support system, namely financial support. Despite the
growing population of people with special needs around the globe, the barriers they
have to accessing care, be it from communication to financial constraints, are high
(World Health Organization, 2012). In Brunei, although numerous strategies and
programmes, which aim for the rights of the disabled to be protected, have been
developed, Her Royal Highness Princess Sarah (HRH) asserts that there is still room
for improvements (Rabiatul Kamit, 2013). This essay will thus discuss a series of
developments in improving care for people with special needs, in terms of education,
employment, and welfare.
First of all, because people with disabilities are more likely to attend only special
learning institutions where they are separated from others (Nasrullah El Hakiem,

Hospitalization for any family is a hard situation to deal with, when it is a child in the
hospital the situation because even tougher to handle. Because of the delicate
situation of family members in the hospital it is imperative that the patient does not
obtain any hospital acccuired conditions. One of the most common hospital acquired
infections (HAI) is ventilator assocaited pneumonia (VAP). Although it is commonly
seen in the hospital setting it can have devastating effects, especially on children.
Prevention of VAP is the goal for critical care nurses in all hospitals.

Younger children are more likely to acuire VAP than adults because of their decrease
function of the immune system.
Dental plaque is a main culprit of causing VAP in young patients. The mouth harbors
many bacterias including gram positive and gram negative bacterias. To prevent
ventilator associated pneumonia from dental plaque guidelines have been set up to
decrease the risks. For all infants and children every two hours the oral cavity should
be moistened and the lips should be coated with petroleum jelly. For children with
teeth it is recommended that the teeth be brushed every twelve hours with fluoride
toothpaste, oral cavity suctioning should be done frequently but do not rinse the
mouth. Daily oral care with 0.6% chlorhexidine for children over 6 who have teeth is
also indicated.
There are numerous other techniques used to prevent VAP. Like many respiratory
problems the head of the bed should always be elevated to between 30 and 45
degrees to prevent aspiration of fluids and sputum. The tubing for the ventilator
should only be changed on a as needed basis. The continuous changing of tubes
moves the bacteria and can introduce new bacteria into the respiratory system.
Patients should also receive sedation vacations and prophylaxis medications to
prevent peptic ulcers. Weaning of the mechanical ventilator should also be done as
soon as possible
