Example Of Autobiographical Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Example of Autobiographical Essay" can be both challenging
and rewarding. On one hand, the task requires introspection, self-reflection, and a deep
understanding of one's life experiences. On the other hand, it demands the ability to articulate
those experiences in a coherent and engaging manner.
Crafting an autobiographical essay involves more than just narrating a sequence of events from
your life; it requires careful consideration of the significant moments, influences, and lessons that
have shaped your identity. This process often involves revisiting personal memories, exploring
emotions, and evaluating the impact of various life events.
The difficulty lies not only in the emotional and psychological aspects but also in the
technicalities of effective essay writing. It's crucial to maintain a balance between providing
enough detail to make the narrative compelling and avoiding unnecessary information that may
dilute the main theme. Additionally, capturing the reader's attention from the beginning and
sustaining it throughout the essay requires skillful storytelling.
Moreover, maintaining objectivity while narrating personal experiences can be challenging.
Striking the right tone is crucial to ensure that the essay doesn't come across as overly
sentimental or detached. Finding the right words to convey your thoughts and emotions
accurately adds another layer of complexity.
Editing and revising play a significant role in refining an autobiographical essay. It's important to
review the content for coherence, clarity, and flow, while also checking for grammatical and
structural errors. This process may involve multiple drafts and revisions to achieve the desired
level of quality.
In conclusion, writing an autobiographical essay is a demanding but enriching task that requires a
blend of self-awareness, storytelling skills, and attention to detail. It is a journey into one's past, a
process of self-discovery, and an opportunity to share personal insights with others.
For those seeking assistance with similar essays or other writing tasks, there are resources

The Biological Feeling Of Hunger
Attention and focus is required as a college student and generally in everyday life.
Attention to simple and mundane tasks can affect an individual when it concerns
work and school and any possible relationship held.
Eating motivation has so many factors. Some people eat when they are actually
hungry while others eat out of boredom. Some people eat while socializing while
some individuals eat due to stressful events experienced, just as mentioned by Dr.
Penton in Behavioral Neuroscience (2015). The biological feeling of hunger comes
from a structure in the brain called the hypothalamus. There are two areas of the
hypothalamus that control hunger. The lateral hypothalamus causes the feeling of
hunger while the ventromedial hypothalamus creates the feeling of satiety (Pinel,
2015).
Homeostasis is an adaptive, behavioral response to nutrient deficiencies, metabolic
imbalances, and other threats to the internal milieu in order to maintain certain
critical survival variables at optimal levels. Imbalances are prone to occur in a
fasting state, moving the body away from homeostasis. Our bodies have adapted to
store fat in case we would possibly encounter a harsh winter, periods of famine, and
in order to be able to reproduce. There is a standard set point and detection system
our bodies aim to keep at all costs. The detection system is responsible in recognizing
deviation from the set point and doing anything possible in efforts of getting the body
back to a homeostatic state

Superman Unethical
The original Superman is by far the most ethical superhero depicted to date. He is,
as they say, the super man. By choosing to only use his powers for the good of the
people, he is a perfect example of moral goodness and ethics. Superman possesses the
powers of flight, superhuman strength, x ray vision, heat vision, and the mind of an
absolute genius. In the original comics, Supermannever lost a battle, and never killed
any of his villains. While fighting may be seen as unethical, he is doing this for the
purpose of serving society and helping people. Fighting is nature and although
fighting itself is not ethical, the reasons for doing so can be. For as long as history
has been recorded, humans have fought for just about anything, because this world
has always been about survival of the fittest. Superman fighting his villains doesn t
make him unethical because he is not taking their lives. Superman believes it is
not his choice as to who lives or dies which is why when he fought Lex Luthor, his
mortal enemy, he refused to kill him. He had him arrested instead. In Superman s
eyes there will always be a better alternative than killing someone. It is not in his
character to kill. With every power that he possesses, Superman could literally be
the end all be all of this planet. Superman could have crushed Batman to pieces with
only one punch. He could literally take over the world as villains like to say, but
morally chooses to utilize his power for the greater good.
Clive Bell And The Formalist Theory Essay
Clive Bell and the Formalist Theory
Art is a recurring form of human practice. Some have argued that all human societies
have shown evidence of artistic activities. (Carroll 5)
Man has long created art, this much is certain. However, man has never ultimately
defined art. There are so many things which qualify as art and as many qualities to
each piece that trying to find answers only seems result in more questions. The
formalist theory of art, as present by Clive Bell, makes an attempt at defining art and
answering many of these questions. Below is a discussion of the formalist theory; its
definition, its strengths, and its weaknesses as evidenced by the work of Clive Bell.
Clive Bell theorizes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is based on the Common Denominator Argument, which is put forth by Noel
Carroll. This is one of the same arguments that Bell puts forward, Carroll simply
elucidates the matter.
...the Common Denominator Argument . This argument begins with the
unexceptionable presupposition that if anything is to count as a necessary condition
of art status, then it must be a property had by every artwork. (Carroll 111).
Carroll believes that some things are art, some things are not art, and their must be a
factor common to all art which differentiates it from not art because the two things
are clearly distinct.
Formalism is in some ways an advantageous theory of art. It has advantages over
both representationalism and expressionism. Representationalism is the theory of
art that in order for something to qualify as art, it must be representative of its
content. Thus, a drawing of a tree is representative of a tree because it obviously
resembles a tree. The matter goes beyond that though; works of art may even be
representative via metaphor, common qualities with subject, or fiat. If a work of art
is classified as art via metaphor, its content is a metaphor for the actual object. Thus,
in Peter and the Wolf each of the instruments is a metaphor for the subjects they
represent. An oboe is not a duck, but both can make a quacking

Struggles Of The Clay By Isabel Allende
Struggles in the Clay Isabel Allende is the author of the story And of Clay Are We
Created. Allende wrote a story, based on a real event, about three main characters.
These characters are each in different positions in the story. In their respective
position each carry something with them. They each carry a struggleand each struggle
builds off the last. Allende reveals three different struggles, each revealed in
correlation with the struggle before it, starting with Azucena s given struggle, Rolf
s struggle revealed through A s, and the narrator s revealed because of Rolf s
continued struggle. The first and most apparent struggle belongs to Azucena. Her
struggle is caused by a real natural disaster that took place. A landslide of water and
earth sweeps over Azucena s home in an attempt to swallow it whole. Azucena is
one of those trapped and waiting for rescue from those who have come to help. She
was found protruding from the mudpit, eyes wide open, calling soundlessly
(Allende 355). Why is her struggle so difficult? She is trapped, with her rescuers
unable to help her. Despite all those around trying to help, they just don t have the
proper equipment and manpower. Not only that, she also has all this attention on her
setting her up to be the symbol of the disaster. She has lost much not only struggling
outside, but also in. She is trapped in mud and has had her family die around her. To
her, the struggle to survive seems futile, and in the end it is. The next

In 1902, Cuba peacefully gained independence from the United States. A few years
earlier, the U.S. had aided Cuban rebels in exorcising Spain from the colony. In 1898,
after three years of fighting, Spain signed a peace treaty with the U.S. relinquishing
its hold on Cuba, but no Cuban delegates were present. However, the Teller
Amendment (4th Article of the Joint Resolution) confirmed that the U.S. would not
permanently remain in Cuba. Cubans lobbied for an early execution of the Joint
Resolution. After much resistance in the U.S., the Cuban Constitutional Convention
met in 1900. Then, in 1901, the Cuban Constitution was completed, including an

Bratt as a teenager when they (both orphans) had lived at Mrs. Faulkner s boarding
house. At the time, Edith was 19 and Tolkien, or Ronald (as his friends called him),
was 16. Edith and Ronald were inseparable, but she distracted him from his studies.
When Father Francis, Ronald s guardian, discovered their relationship, he forbade
Ronald from seeing Edith until he was 21 and moved Tolkien and his younger
brother to different lodging. At the time, Ronald was 17 but did as he was told and
once again focused on his studies. Several years later, the minute the clock struck
midnight on his 21st birthday, Ronald wrote a letter to Edith declaring his
unending love. Edith wrote back with the shocking news that she was engaged to
someone else. Tolkien went to visit her and the two went on a walk. On that walk,
Ronald convinced Edith to break off the engagement and marry him instead. Finally,

he was sent to France as a signaling officer in WWI. In 1925, J.R.R. Tolkien moved

Informative Essay On Violins
Albert Einstein once said, A table, a chair, a bowl of fruit, and a violin; what else
does a man need to be happy? The violin produces a very beautiful sound which
depends on neither the violinist nor the violin. Its long history consists of its known
creators and musicians, the process of its creation, and the types of violins.
The people that make violins are called luthiers (luth ee ers). The earliest known
Italian luthiers were Andrea Amati (1505 ?), Gasparo da Salo (1540 09), and
Giovanni Maggini (1579 30). Most people agree that Amati is the first luthier.
Furthermore, some composers were Arcangelo Corelli (1653 13) who was known for
developing the concerto grosso , a trio, which has two violins and a cello, is
accompanied by an orchestra. Niccolo Paganini (1782 40) was called The Devil s
Violinist for his extreme virtuosity and Antonio Vivaldi (1678 41) is most famous for

Luthiers create the strings out of gut wound with aluminum, silver, steel, or perlon,
nylon, or wire. They use quarter sawn maple for the back, ribs/sides, and neck of
the violin. The linings are made of spruce, willow, purfling (different woods), or
fiber (thick paper, cardboard). Luthiers use ebony for the fingerboard, pegs, plastic for
the chinrest, or metal for the tailpiece, fine tuners and maple wood for the bridge. The
parts of the violin are the scroll, the pegs for tightening the strings and tuning, the
pegbox, the nut, the neck, the fingerboard for playing notes, the upper bout, the
waist, the f holes for amplified sound, the lower bout, the bridge to convey the
vibrations from the string to the body, the fine tuners to tune, the tailpiece to hold the

I could not imagine how Tim O Brien, and the hundreds of thousands of people felt
when they received their draft notices. All I can do is imagine the initial panic and
disbelief. I don t believe that I would respond calmly and just accept the fact that
the military basically owned me for the duration of the Vietnam War. But I don t
know if I would have the courage that Tim O Brien talks about in The Things They
Carried to dodge the draft and flee to Canada. The only thing I can compare this to
is when I almost quit the football team. I wanted to quit because I was too small and

Raskolnikov Hero Essay
At first glance, Raskolnikov seems the opposite of a hero. He murders a defenseless
old woman, then insists he has done nothing wrong. Still, his conscience torments
him: He worries about his actions, his family, and the nation in which he lives.
Because he thinks deeply about moral problems, Raskolnikov is ultimately able to
commit brave acts, turning himself into the police and atoning for his sinful past.
Though Raskolnikov spends most of the novelin a decidedly non heroic state, his
keen, searching conscience allows him to attain grace in the closing epilogue and he
ends the novel a hero.
To be sure, Raskolnikov engages in numerous unheroic thoughts and deeds. Toward
the beginning of the novel, he attacks and kills the moneylender Alyona Ivanovna.
He tells himself he has behaved admirably; by his perverse logic, moneylenders are
so cruel that they do not deserve to live. Crime? he says. What crime? He likens
Alyona Ivanova to a louse that has sucked the life sap from the poor, and claims that

The guilt he feels after killing Alyona Ivanovna is the most brutal punishment in the
novel. Even the police investigator, Porfiry Petrovich, admires Raskolnikov for his
finely tuned sensibilities. His conscience causes him to worry not just about his own
sins, but also about the sins of nineteenth century Russia. He refuses to marry,
seeing the institution as deeply flawed and imbalanced, and he forbids his sister to
marry Luzhin because such a marriage would reduce her to a servant. The status of
Russian women enrages him and his heart aches for Sonya, who prostitutes herself to
feed her family. Tormented, he dreams of a poor, weak horse that gets crushed in the
street. To Raskolnikov, the horse represents Russia s starving masses, sacrificed in the
name of progress. These moments of bitterness and idealism show that Raskolnikov

One of the biggest CSR activities McDonald s is involved in is the Ronald
McDonald House Charities. Ronald McDonald House Charities has been around
since 1974 and has provided vital resources and compassionate care to children and
their families being served by leading hospitals worldwide. This program mainly
focuses on helping families cover medical expenses and hospitalization fees for
their children if they cannot afford proper health care coverage. The Ronald
McDonald House Charities offers access to highly specialized medical treatment.
Even if said treatment is thousands of miles away from home, McDonald s provides
housing for families so that they can stay near or at the hospital that their child is
staying at.
In addition to healthcare, Ronald McDonald House Charities has a mobile program in
which they essentially have a hospital on wheels and can deliver healthcare to certain
geographical areas. An example of this could be providing vaccinations to a poorly

Colin Powell, A Natural Storyteller
Get mad, then get over it. Simply put and educational at the same time. Colin Powell
had a way with words that would draw the reader s mind into capturing what that
simple phrase meant. As a result, Colin wrote a book with multitude of intelligence,
quirkiness, hystericalness, life changing stories, lessons, and guidelines on how to be

his stories mentioned in this chapter of the book came from a military experience.
The abutting few chapters talked about are simple, but biggest missed concepts of
being not only a great person but leader in charge. A few of the best chapters are,
Know yourself, be yourself, trust your people, mutual respect, and kindness works

would be how to act and be responsible human beings. This is a paramount concept,
because periodically this is left out of an exceptional leader. This is one step that
could help compose a decent leader, into a leader that everybody wishes to be.
Another key chapter, Take care of the troops is about how to aid your troops to be
mentally, physically, and emotionally prepared for anything. One thought that was

The Effect Of Metal Chelation On Latin
Introduction
Chelate means claw in Latin. Metal Chelation is a process when a polyvalent metal
ion form covalent bonds with a drug and binds tightly to form a 5 or 6 membered
ring. 5 and 6 membered ring structure are very stable because their bond angle has
no ring strain. Thus, when a compound is chelated, it will not be able to pass through
the biological membrane, in another words, it will not be metabolise by the body but
to be pass through the renal without being absorbed and being excreted though urine.
Essential metal such as magnesium, iron, calcium and zinc are easily found in many
food source and is vital to be included as part of our diet as these trace elements are
helping our body enzymes, hormones and cells to work. Insufficient intake of trace
minerals can cause symptoms of nutritional deficiency. (Glusker,1999) At certain
times, these metal are also use as an active ingredient or excipients in pharmaceutical
industry.

Reclining Mouflon Analysis
Once humans entered the agrarian age, they began to create more than just tools for
survival. Previously, humans had hunted for their food, taking down gigantic beasts
with sharpened stones. Upon discovering they could grow and harvest food, these
peoples shifted from a nomadic lifestyle to a settled one. Due to this change, human
tribes were able to advance into a civilization. These people then had the leisure to
think, create and imagine, and one of the many culminations from this new era was
art.
One such work would be the Reclining Mouflon originating from the Mature
Harappan period in the Indus River Valley a time in which the crops such as wheat
and barley were introduced. The Reclining Mouflon sculpture, carved out of marble,
is 28 cm long. Instead of the portable figurines and statuettes created from earlier
ages, the Reclining Mouflon is a much larger in comparison. This evidence shows

complications that may arise from this heart failure therapy. LVAD dysfunction can
originate from the inflow cannula. The misalignment and increase pump flow can
cause the walls of the LV to be sucked down towards the cannula resulting in
obstruction of inlet flow. We will see this first from the parasternal long axis view.
When applying Doppler to the inflow cannula, the characteristic of the flow pattern
can represent obstruction or thrombus within the cannula. Flow pattern showing

As a result of the improvement in medicine, more and more people are able to live
with congestive heart failure than ever before. With that being said, there are more
patients who have lived longer because of the opportunity to have an LVAD
implantation. Seeing an LVAD patient in the Echocardiography lab has become a
common occurrence in the recent years. It is important for sonographers to be
knowledgeable and to continue their education, as echo plays an important role in
assessing the LVADs and native heart s function.
This report has allowed us to have an exceptional understanding of LVADs and the
advanced sonographic technique needed to fully evaluate its function. With this
found knowledge, we can confidently enter an LVAD exam knowing what is
required of us. Before a patient receives an LVAD, an important area to evaluate is

The West Side Story Musical Analysis
The musical, the west side story, is by Arthur Laurents. This musical was inspired
by William Shakespeare s play Romeo and Juliet. Some of the songs in this musical
are Jet Song, Something s coming, and A Dance at the Gym. This story is set in an
Upper West Side neighborhood in New York city. It was also set in the mid 1950s.
This musical is about two teenage gangs. One of the gangs is a white American gang,
the jets, led by Riff and the other gang is a Puerto Rican gang, the sharks, led by
Bernardo. These two gangs often get in fights and do not like each other. The jets
planned a fight at a dance with the sharks. They ask Tony, the co founder of the
gang, friend of Riff, and previous gang member, to come. At first Tony did not want

Georgia Vs. Dixon Case Analysis
Throughout history one can look through cases to find where race played a part tin
the conviction and sentencing of a case. However, in the case of Georgia vs. Dixon
did race play a part in convicting Dixon? Did the jury know what they were doing?
Was the sentencing initial to give a harsher charge? By looking at the facts of the
case, legally defining all the charges, and explain the outcome and the issues that
surrounded the case one can answer the basis of these questions.
Facts of Case
Marcus Dixon on the outside appeared to be an outstanding student with a 3.96
GPA, a full ride football scholarship, and respect from many of his peers and
teachers. Dixon in 2003 was accused of raping a white fifteen year old female and
losing her virginity to him. During the trail two other women came forward admitting
that Marcus exposed himself to them. On May 15, 2003, a jury found Dixon guilty of
statutory rape and aggravated child molestation, but acquitted him of all other charges
including rape, sexual battery, false imprisonment, and aggravated assault. As
required by Georgia s mandatory sentencing laws, Dixon received a sentence of
fifteen years to serve ten for the aggravated child molestation conviction. (Manton,
2013, pg.778) Although the jury found Marcus guilty they unwittingly knew what the

Dixon it is hard to argue that race played a significant factor in convicting and
sentencing Dixon. The was irrefutable evidence that he was guilty and admitted to
having sex with the minor. Even though, if the sex was consensual Dixon did in fact
commit the crime and was dropped of most of the harsher charges. Although the
prosecution used the law to punish Dixon to the upmost extent of the law the jury
nor the judge played a fact in using his race against him. This is evident in
considering the realities of the case, describing all the accusations, and describing the
after effect that bounded the

Gender Roles In Remember The Titans
Most people don t realize that the media play up the stereotypes and gender roles
that are out there. We don t realize that the movies and television shows we watch
feed into the stereotypes and gender roles that we believe in. Remember the Titans,
directed by Boaz Yakin, tells the story about a high school football coach, Herman
Boone, attempting to integrate T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria in 1971.
Boone coming to T.C. Williams High School really upset many parents and
students. When the parents of the football players found out he was going to be
helping the head coach, Bill Yoast, many were fuming with anger. Why? Because
he is African American. Parents did not want their children playing African
American children in sports or sitting next to them in classrooms. This movie is
based on a true story and the film challenges everything we claim we know about
discrimination and racism in school. Boone and his family face horrible
experiences when moving to Alexandria. When moving to the neighborhood, many
neighbors were so upset but many were also happy that he didn t back down. He
was offered the head coach position but turned it down because he felt it would be
incredibly disrespectful to Coach Yoast. Boone Yoast agreed to make the
relationship work. The African American students meet with Coach Boone in the
gym, the meeting turns into a disaster when Coach Yoast and the white students
arrive and disturb the meeting. Gerry Bertier was one of the students among the
crowd of white students to interrupt. I m Gerry Bertier. I m the only All America
you got on this team. If you want us to play for you, you reserve over half the
positions ...we don t need any of your people on defense we re already set. said by
Gary Bertier to Coach Boone. Boone makes it clear that all players will be on the
team regardless of the color of their skin. Many stereotypes come into play at this
point in the movie. The coaches gather up all the players so they can go to training
camp at Gettysburg College, while gathering the students on a bus, Boone makes the
players sit next to each other. Neither one of the ethnic groups like this very much.
Once they get to the camp, they get paired to room together. One of the
The Anglo-Saxon Era
VFrom the Anglo Saxon Era till the Present Time
The Anglo Saxon refers to the settlers from the German regions of Angeln and
Saxony, who made their way over to Britain after the fall of the Roman Empire
around AD 410. Thus, paved the way to be known as the Anglo Saxon Era. But I, the
author of this essay, will simply discuss the Anglo Saxon s similarities and differences
with the present modern time, specifically in three areas. And these areas would be
gender roles, language and social conduct. Gender roles in the Anglo Saxon Era are
very distant to each other. Men, who are usually the strong warriors, are of the
dominant gender in the society. They were the symbol of heroism for being brave
and strong. They were the ones who fought in wars, fighting for their society. Men
were also the central leaders, as kings and rulers. Also, they were the ones to ... Show

But still, there are similarities between the Anglo Saxon Era and the modern times.
The Anglo Saxon had chieftains, who led men to military expeditions, which is
similar with the generals of the modern time. They also had the Mead Halls, which
is the home for the society s king, which is similar with Malacanang
Palace(Philippines) or the White House(US). But the Anglo Saxons had freedom in
not showing up warrants, which is different from the present time for warrants, that
are still required as of today, are needed to prove that they authorized people from the
government. As of to the laws of the present time that are encoded in thick books, the
Anglo Saxons laws were written in the vernacular. But the Anglo Saxons had a feudal
system, which is likely present till now. It is the system for people, who were found
guilty, are set to a monetary value for their lives from imprisonment. It is the same
with the current punishment of today, the only difference is that, wealth and status
matter to Anglo Saxons while to the present times, not
Nothing Can Be Good or Evil in Itself Essay
Nothing Can Be Good or Evil in Itself
Truth, beauty, and goodness are not eternal, objective realities which man
discovers, but are the creative products of the human mind as it exercises its will
to power . In other words, man is a creator of values. (Nietzsche) So what is good
and evil, but that defined by man and therefore a purely subjective concept. Could
we, society, have one without the other? By determining what is good, we in turn
determine what is evil. How do we know what they are; that is if they really exist?
One must first try to define what good and evil are before attempting to question their
existence.
What is good? Is it the selfless act of a volunteer at a homeless shelter or an honest

His actions were good, not just because they were intended to be good for the whole
society, but because society viewed them as being for the good.
Good must also be addressed in terms not related to human actions. In the eyes of
our society, a flower would be undoubtedly considered good, or a symbol of good.
However, there is nothing in a flower that makes it good, other than its ability to be
pleasing to society. The flower does not have the ability to make an overt decision to
cause evil; therefore we view it as being good. Of course, Webster s dictionary doesn t
quite cover this concept of good and tends to cause some confusion when addressing
it.
So, what is evil? Is it Hitler s near annihilation of the Jewish people during World
War II or the senseless massacre at Ti enneman Square on mainland China? Again
we turn to Webster s dictionary, which states evil as causing distress or harm, a
source of sorrow, and the fact of suffering, misfortune, and wrongdoing. (Merriam
Webster) Evil would be any intention to cause an undesirable effect upon one s self
or on another person. So by saying that the intentions of a person are not to cause
good we automatically assume that they are out to cause evil.
For instance, religious and political leaders of Dr. Martin Luther King s time
resisted all efforts on his part toward equality because he would be attempting to
change an accepted way of life. King
The Importance Of Probiotics In The Gut
Overall health and well being can be affected by the bacteria in the gut, and an
imbalance in the digestive system can cause changes in the body and manifest as any
number of ailments, including abdominal discomfort, irritable bowel syndrome,
crohn s disease skin and ulcerative colitis. Gut health and immune systemclosely
linked, and while bacteria are important for digestion, it can also have an effect on
hormone levels, stress and metabolism. Both good and bad bacteria are found in the
gut, and it is vital to feed and supply the beneficial bacteria in order to maintain good
health. Probiotics can play a role in bringing balance to the bacteria in the gut and
prevent the development of diseases, by boosting the immune system, which in turn,
promotes good health. There are a number of probioticproducts on the market that
provide different benefits. Lets look at the top five probiotics and what they can do
for your health.
What are Probiotics?
According to the Mayo Clinic, probiotics are good bacteria that are either the same
as or similar to the bacteria that occur naturally in your body. Probiotics can be found
in some food supplements, and works by decreasing the number of bad bacteria in
your gut that can cause infections or inflammation and restoring bacterial balance.

An Abridged Story Of My Life
An Abridged Story of My Life I was born with a curious mind. When I was four
years old, I enjoyed dissecting insects. It was fun exploring the structures of living
organisms. Sometimes the grasshoppers I caught will blow a black liquid bubble
from their mouths, which looked like it permanently stained the grass hopper s
upper body when popped. That practice sounds cruel, but I wanted to know the
physical differences between humans and arthropods. During that same age, the
importance of religion intrigued me. I wondered the reason people devoted
themselves entirely to a religious book, that according to the religious believers,
was created by God. My mom always told me, God is a God, because he has never
performed a sin . After my mom telling me those controversial words, I did not
understand why my Catholic Bible book said that the people who have broken
some of the ten testaments from the Bible would go to hell. Why would they go to
hell? I thought God supposed to always do the right thing, but not forgiving
someone is the wrong thing, right? Clearly, religion was a very confusing topic to
me when I was a girl. Soon, I started to go to school at Forman Elementary. It was a
fascinating experience. I enjoyed competing with other students in extracurricular
activities. My personal favorite were the spelling bee, art, music, math, and science
competitions. The school was full of surprises. In my classes, I would learn how to
draw weird illustrations called the alphabet. My
Sexual Dysfunctions
However when sexual dysfunctions are treated the dysfunctions typically will begin
to dissipate. The individual may feel more aroused and the urge for sexual
fulfillment. These results will vary depending on the treatment plan that is put in
place by the physician and the patient. Some treatments can induce permanent
recoveries, and others may only offer situational cures (such as Viagra). Once a
treatment plan is in place a physician can monitor the progression or regression of a
sexual dysfunctions by regular visits and conducting physical examinations as well as
labs. If the patient needed psychological interventions then a repeat psychological
evaluation can be a helpful indicator to determine if the treatment is working. The

The underlying causes for certain forms of the dysfunctions are known, while others
are not. Ways that this understanding can be improved include more research through
brain mapping using am fMRI. By determining what areas of the brain control or send
the desire/arousal signals to the sexual organs can improve in some cases improve
sexual functioning. Another option is to continue to understand the functions of the
different sections of the brain that are not functioning properly that contribute to other
mental disorders that are linked to sexual dysfunctions. When there is a clear
understanding of how the brain works there is a better chance of improving sexual
dysfunctions or curing them all together. There are many types of sexual dysfunction
disorders that are caused by physiological disorders, medications, certain medical
conditions, injury and/or brain surgery. The only way to better understand and treat
sexual dysfunction disorders is to continue to examine the neurological causes to gain
a better understanding of the inner working of the brain that are attached to sexual
Shootings And Burglary-Personal Narrative
Why is this happening?
I m sure you have probably heard about the shootings and burglary that have
happened recently. If not, you re about to. March 25 police were called to Bellagio
Hotel in Las Vegas with reports of an active shooter. Well, it turns out, those reports
were false. But what did happen was, masked robbers broke into the high end
jewelry and watch store of the hotel. You may be asking So what, these things
happen more than you think. Yeah, well, the robbers were wearing character masks,
nice dark suits or tuxedos, and armed with sledge hammers. An image a witness

This type of thing reminds me of something being pulled straight from there. This
is ridiculous. Why are we having problems with people copying video games? I
don t know if that was the insinuation of it or if they were copying past burglaries,
either way it is not acceptable. Yes, yes, I know, we cannot stop nor prevent all
crime. But we do have a problem in the shadows somewhere, it needs to be found.
Then we have the Las Vegas strip shooting, also on March 25, injuring 1 and
killing 1. Sources say the shooter was a man in his 50 s, who has mental health
issues, who opened fire with a handgun. This was probably not preventable very
easily, but I want to know how he got the gun, and if he knew what he was doing. If
so, what was he trying to accomplish? Was he diagnosed with the mental health issues
if he had doctor?
Now the shooting in the Cincinnati, Ohio nightclub. One dead, fourteen wounded.

The September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, now referred to as 9/11, were a series of
coordinated, well planned suicide attacks that involved the use of hijacked
passenger jets as a means of destruction . The suicide bombers used the passenger
jets as bombs, and ran into the World Trade Center Towers of New York, the
Pentagon, and a fourth plane that did not make it to its destination, hit the ground in
Pennsylvania. These sudden attacks came as a shock to the people and government
of the USA. The attacks affected not only the United States, but the entire world felt
the aftershock of the event. It specifically affected the United States economy and

265 people died on the hijacked planes, 2650 people died from inside the World
Trade Centers, 343 firefighters died while trying to save others, and 125 people
died at the Pentagon. Days after the twin towers had collapsed people were still
searching for the miracle of hope, that they would once again find their loved ones
alive. Amidst all the panic, it was hard for people to step back and realize that
there was a very slim chance that they would find the person they were looking for.
The after effects of the tragedy involved searching for bodies amongst the rubble of
what was left of the World Trade CenterTowers and of the Pentagon. As people
witnessed the first and second planes fly into the trade centers, they saw the
buildings shatter to pieces, and watched as people desperate to escape from the peril
jumped out into the streets below. It was hard to put all of these images behind them.
These images affect the way the human mind functions. Humans are a unique
species, one that feels sorrow, pain, and loss. The psychological effects of such
trauma will affect people for the rest of their lives.
The effects of 9/11 did lots of damage as it tore the country apart over racism, but it
also brought the people of the United States together. Almost all Americans felt
prouder than ever about the country they lived in. Surveys showcased that patriotic
feelings were higher than ever before among all ethnic groups. People from all over
America came down to New York and

Chad Christian Clift is not working tirelessly in a restaurant or traveling, he likes to
spend some of his free time sky diving. This extreme adventure sport has a
reputation for being both loved and feared by many. For those who have already
experienced the thrill of falling through the sky, there is no doubt that the
experience is one of a kind. Others, however, have been intrigued by the concept,
but are too afraid to give it a go. Clift explains that a first time sky diving
experience does not have to be scary, especially since it will be a tandem jump. In a
tandem sky dive, the person jumping is literally attached via a harness to

charge of the technicalities of the jump. All the jumper needs to do is spread their

anyone in good health can do it with ease. When you sky dive, the most
complicated part of the trip will be the paperwork that must be filled out prior to
jumping, and getting suited up and harnessed. Special suits are worn to help the
professional or individual diver adjust for wind, drag, and lift. These suits are
comfortable, though not very stylish. After that it is all clear skies according to

Eight Critical Thinking Guidelines Into My Posts
In each module, I have tried to incorporate the eight critical thinking guidelines into
my posts. In particular, I have tried to be willing to wonder about each topic, and I
have always tried to ask relevant questions to keep the discussion going. I feel as
though I was able to embody this guideline well in Module Five. My first instinct
was to completely dismiss hypnotism and hypnotherapy, but I allowed myself to
wonder about the possibility of both being real. In my research, I discovered that
hypnotherapy was indeed a viable option for some disorders, which I would never
have learned had I kept my mind closed. In my responses I definitely tried to keep
the discussion going by asking questions that would allow the original poster to
elaborate upon their opinions. Most of all, I attempted to ask questions that would
allow for further discussion, not just a simple agreement or disagreement with my
statements. Rather than taking my fellow students statements as fact, I wondered
about the absolute truth of their statements. For example, Sara Walsh discussed the
similarity of hypnosis and placebo, and in my response I wondered if ...the
comparison between hypnotherapy and a placebo effect necessarily negate the
effects of hypnotherapy? In allowing myself to wonder about hypnotherapy, it
opened my mind to a whole new set of questions and opinions, and I think this is
vital in critical thinking. If I were to believe hypnotherapy were real, what would
influence the
Black Men In The Scottsboro Boys
The communist party was all for supporting black people having a self government
and self determination even though some weren t in favor of this cause. Also due
to the rise of the communist party there was an increase in political effort to
protect the lives of African Americans. The communist party was able to help save
the lives of nine young black men from execution. This case was known as the
Scottsboro Boys ; in Alabama there were nine African American teenagers that
were arrested in 1931 for supposably involved in raping two white women on a
train. The teenagers were accused, convicted and were soon to face the death
penalty. Luckily for them the many African Americans from the communist party
supported them, the support system these boys had was amazing, this case
offered these young men an opportunity to play roles in the in the defense of black
men and the struggle they face against class and racial oppression. This case was
also a very personal case to the boy s families because they understood what it felt
like for their own husbands and children getting accused of raping someone and
they also feared that they would also get lynched. In 1933 about a thousand black

nine young men. In the end the case was successful and the boys were taken out of
custody. Because everyone came together for a good cause the boys escaped

Structural Research of Canyonlands National Park, Utah
Essay
Canyonlands National Park, immense amounts of wilderness and rock, is located
at the heart of the Colorado Plateau (Canyonlands National Park Geology). Millions
of years have formed specific features to the rock and surrounding wilderness that
make it so special. Throughout the park, you will find that the sedimentary rock has
formed many features such as hundreds of colorful canyons, mesas, buttes, fins,
arches, and spires. The Green and Colorado rivers have played a major role in the
formation of many of these features. These rivers cut through the park forming two
massive canyons. This further splits the park into three distinct zones. Island in the

All three sections of Canyonlands has its own distinct features that attract so much
attention every year but what many would love to know is how has this immense
landscape come to be? By analyzing the structure (i.e. faults, folds, tectonic plates),
we have one manner in which to answer this question. Internal forces of the Earth
reach and break through the surface to form volcanoes, mountains, plateaus, and
many other topographical features which may later cause these layers to tip, fold,
warp, or fracture. Faults play a major role in the formation of landscapes. So, by first
looking at faults, hopefully we can come closer to truly understanding how
Canyonlands National Park has come to be. On plateaus such as the Colorado
Plateau, faults and weak rock tend to be synonymous in their locations. Faults, which
are cracks or fractures in Earth s crust, form when internal heat forces and pressure
from underground forces shifts the plates, thus creating stress within the plate. Faults
commonly occur in elevated regions such as the Rocky Mountain region (which
includes the Colorado Plateau and Canyonlands National Park). As previously
mentioned, faults tend to be surrounded by weak rock. Therefore, a river or other
flowing water easily cuts through this
Explain The Internal And External Challenges Of The...
This article has demonstrated the fortunes of Australian union movement by focusing
on the historical movement of Australian union, core internal and external challenges
faced and their key responses. Throughout history, Australian union has created a
unique system of compulsory conciliation and arbitration a century ago, which
provided full recognition and strategic benefits for all participating unions. However,
from 2000s, membership declined rapidly due to the changing composition of the
workforce. Namely, from 1980s, unions failed to respond structural changes in
economy favouring industries and low density occupation, which initially driven by
the deregulation of financial market and exchange rate that sieged currency. In this
case, Labour government... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From early 2006, WorkChoices legislation has claimed to invoke protection against
unfair dismissal for employees and prioritized individual contracts to undercut award

Overall, the main external challenges are caused by financialization which including
restructured product and labour markets, antagonistic employers and legislation
restriction. In addition, internal challenges contained declining in resources and
memberships, which made unions realised that small unions could not survive in a
neoliberal environment. Thus, a structural reform of merger wave would be
embarked to respond a declining density, resulting in increased membership services
and union power. However, union density continued to decline in this circumstance.
Some suggested that amalgamationism was defensive adjustment rather than strategic
reform. More importantly, it was to distract union away from redirecting the control
to the workplace, which was the main issue unions
Comparing A P and An Ounce of Cure Essay
Comparing A P and An Ounce of Cure
If a reader is given two short stories, two stories that are seemingly different on the
surface, to read and compare and contrast, a surprising amount of similarities and
differences can be found. Unless they deal with the same subject matter, most short
stories aren t really related, until some analysis is done. The stories A P, by John
Updike, and An Ounce of Cure, by Alice Munro, are very similar but very different.
One of the mot important similarities between these two stories is the problems the
opposite sex causes for the main character. In A P, Sammy, the main character, quits
his job because he thinks that his boss has mistreated and embarrassed three young
ladies that were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In An Ounce of Cure, the main character and her mother have to use and ounce of
cure to try and make up for the main character s mistakes. If only an ounce of
prevention had been used, there wouldn t have been any of those horrible problems
that arose. These two stories are also very different. The main difference is that
Sammy takes less dramatic measures to resolve his problems than the girl in An
Ounce of Cure. Sammy only quits his job. Since he is young and it is summer
time, he shouldn t have any problems finding another job. The girl in An Ounce of
Cure, however, takes far more drastic measures to solver her problems. She tries to
kill herself, gets drunk, and endangers the lives of the two young children that she
supposed to be watching. Another difference is that An Ounce of Cure has far less
detail in it than in A P. An Ounce of Cure is much longer, but much more
straightforward. It gives the story and a few extra details, but not many. On the other
hand, A P Sammy gives vivid details of everything around him. He paints a very
clear picture of the store, the young ladies, the other shoppers, and his every thought.
Both main characters in these stories have very different attitudes towards
everything. Sammy, in A P, is very self assured. He realizes that he may be making a
mistake halfway through quitting his job, but goes through with it anyway. By
reading into his thoughts, the reader can infer that he is around the ages of
Climate Change Summit
The Unites States of America is currently working to combat climate change in order
to protect people from its effects. By combatting climate change, the USA hopes to
prevent its effects from becoming worse in the future because the USA cares for its
citizens and doesn t want them to keep experiencing the consequences of climate
change. The USA is putting great effort into dealing with climate change and also
hopes that other businesses, organization, and individuals will join them in their
effort (Environmental News Service). One concern the USA has towards climate
change is its cause of natural disasters. Climate change is bringing more natural
disasters by making weather patterns stronger, and weather patterns are becoming
stronger as climate change grows which is bringing more natural disasters such as
hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and drought to the USA (Rice). One example of a
natural disaster that occurred in the USA as a result of climate change is the
tornado in Moore, Oklahoma. In this event, a tornado rated 5 on the Enhanced
Fuijta scale hit Oklahoma and had a negative impact on this city by destroying
many of its houses and buildings also resulting in the destruction of businesses
such as schools (Cable News Network). Another major concern of the USA
towards climate change is that it will cause a rise in the global sea level which will
result in many of its coastal cities to be submerged underwater. There will be a
permanent 4 feet rise in the global sea level
Kinnaman s Analysis
Kinnaman s assessment of how Christians are perceived by non Christians should
motivate us to go back to the drawing board, analyze ourselves, and put a new plan of
action together. Christians should care what outsiders think about them because we
are Christ s ambassadors (Kinnaman, 2007). As noted by Kinnaman (2007), when
outsiders question our motives, it neutralizes their interest in Christianity(p. 69).
Christians should embody love, compassion, patience, forgiveness, and service,
among other things and if this is not the case, then, we are clearly misrepresenting the
love and the grace of the Father (Kinnaman, 2007). Therefore, we cannot stand aloof
from these negative perceptions and pretend there s nothing wrong.
According to Kinnaman
Thomas Galludet Research Paper
Thomas Galludet Thomas Galludet is one of if not the most recognizable name in
American sign language communities. He is a huge part of Deaf culture and
education in America. Thomas Galludet has an interesting story about what led to
this hearing man to become such a champion for the Deaf community and why he is
so well remembered today.
In 1814 when a young Thomas was visiting his family, he noticed a young girl with
no friends. When he went to speak to her about why she wasn t playing with
anyone, he learned she was Deaf and had no way of communicating. Thomas taught
her to spell an object he would point to, and she was delighted. This made Thomas
so happy, he decided he wanted to teach her and others more effectively. The young
girl s parents financed a trip for Thomas to travel to Europe since there were no Deaf
schools in America. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The British school for Deaf would not teach him. So Thomas traveled to France to
learn at the Royal Institution for Deaf. Here he met a wonderful teacher named
Laurent Clerc who taught him French sign language. Galludet was so impressed
with his teacher, he asked if Clerc would come back to America with him to open a
Deaf school.
Galludet and Clerc opened America s first school for the Deaf. They both had
successful careers teaching many Deaf children and adults. Galludet eventually
married one of his students and had eight children. One of his sons was Edward
Galludet who became the first headmaster of America s first ever college for the
Deaf that was later named after his father; Galludet University in Washington D.C.
Thomas Galludet made great strides for Deaf education in America and will always

School Bullying and the Attempts to Prevent it.
School bullying and bullying as a whole has become a growing concern. The need
for more intervention is more recognized, as incidents of bullying and
inappropriate acts towards others occur in places outside of the classroom. This
literature takes a closer look at bullying in schools. Olwesus (2013) states the field
of bullying research is to some extent plagued by problems, disagreements, and
unresolved issues (p.752). Whether if anyone will agree on the root of bullying,
the fact remains that bullying has to be examined at its very core to remedy the
matter before it becomes a bigger concern. There is a dire need for intervention
based programs to be set in place to address the fact the act of bullying has lasting
effects on the bully and the victim. When intervention programs are put into place to
address bullying, the act of bullying decreases due to the gained understanding of the
effects.
What effects does bullying have on the bully and the victim?
Nubia Relationship
Nubia, being one of the earliest civilizations suffered tremendous amounts of
turmoil during it s early existence due to major violence with a similar neighbor,
Egypt. One reason for the Turmoil; Egypt, being one of the most military powerful
civilizations at that time, wanted to exercise aggressive expansions against Nubia to
gain more land. Another reason for violence, would be the need to attain more
goods. This was marked by military raids, expeditions and conquests by the
Egyptians. Even though the two civilizations did go through great periods of peace,
the standstill never lasted because of how harrowing the relationships between the
two civilzations were. Nubia and Egyptwere one of the earliest civilizations of ancient

During the reign of Ramesses II around (1279 1213) BC, Nubia had been a colony
for about two hundred years. Its subjugation was depicted in a painting at the
temple of Ramesses II which was constructed at Beit el Wali in Northern Nubia.
(Fandom, par 11) Nubians fought back against Egyptians as well. Powerful leaders
would rise and establish control over areas of Egypt.
Relationship between Nubia and Egypt changed intensely in the years from 750
730 BC (25th Century). The Kingdom of Kush and the Nubian prince Piankhy
pushed into the north to capture Egypt from the Libyan control and establish their
capital at Thebes. The record of these moving events is contained on a large granite
stela which Piankhy erected in the temple at Gebel Barkal. Having taken immediate
action with his troops in Egypt, Piankhy gave orders for his army in Nubia to
advance into Egypt, with orders to fight ye on sight. ( More reasons for violence
between the two would be the allocation of goods.
The culture of Nubian goods led Egyptian kings to begin a long series of invasions
into Nubia to secure them. Initial efforts to establish trade relations, as well as
military campaigns during the early dynastic period, had set the stage for a more
complex arrangement during the Old Kingdom. (Hawas,
The Life And Accomplishments Of Frederick Douglass
When speaking of how African Americans evolved from being slaves to becoming
free, one must not fail to mention the life and accomplishments of Frederick
Douglass. The actions taken by Frederick Douglas and others that pave the way
were perceived as huge achievements then and now. Negros, as they were called in
the 17th and 18th century where considered nothing more than slaves. Being a slave
did not grant human rights to anything at any time or any place. But Frederick
Douglass had different plans other than only being a slave. Overcoming slavery
would become a life long journey with the thoughts of becoming a free man the
only possible option. Frederick Douglass was born in slavery as Frederick
Augustus Washington Bailey in Talbot County, Maryland. By only knowing his
mother s name and not knowing his date of birth or who his father was, this was
normal for many Negros. This hurdle was only a few of many challenges that were
not only faced by Frederick Douglas but also by many other slave s at this time.
Growing up, Frederick Douglass was a very mild mannered child. He was originally a
house Negro who learned very quickly what roles slaves played in their society.
Slaves were not privileged to anything, they were not privileged to learn to read,
write or know their history, which crippled slaves into centuries of oppression. But
early in his life, Frederick Douglass knew this was not going to be his way of living.
When Douglass was a very young child he lived with his
Speech About Corruption In The Philippines
Opening Sentences: Corruption has always been one of the major problems of the
world especially in politics. It has caused political fights, undermines democracy and
good governance by flouting or even subverting formal processes for each other or
just put in every penny in their pocket from their own countrymen without them even
knowing it. In order to stop these incidents the people should be more educated in
the world of politics so that they can be aware and stop the spread of corruption in

That is why the people should act as one sharing their values but also wanting them
to be achieved. If we want to stop corruption in the Philippines, we should stop all
corruptions that are happening inside the Philippines. We should fight all the corrupt
Filipinos, whether they are politicians or they are just simply our fellow countrymen.
To the Filipinos these are the values that should be made real. Like stopping the
spread of corruption in the government. The government cannot work without the
people and vice versa it is a relationship that should work both ways and the two
parties meeting halfway or reaching in a understanding because it would be
impossible to stop corruption alone. (John, 2010) And by doing this we become more
aware of corruption in our government officials and the public can help the
government by reporting them and showing disapproval or shunning the corrupt
politicians out of the government. (Martinez, 1999) Corruption deprives the

The Boston Tea Party

Introduction
With the conflict between the British and the colonies intensifying over the rights of
taxation without representation , both sides continued building more tension that
lead up to the Boston Massacre. In this event, the British fired into a crowd of
Boston Citizens killing five colonists and leading to a trial against the British
soldiers. Now with the lack of the colonist s concede to the British demands, this lead
the colonist refusing to pay taxes on imported goods. Which lead to the next step
towards the American Revolutionary War, and the defiance of property The British
Tea Party.
The Dark night
The Boston Tea Party was a protest by the colonists against the Tea Tax that
Parliament passed to monopolize the tea trade in the American colonies. This tax
was to give the East India Company a chance to sell their tea to the colonies, but not
pay taxes to the British. Unfortunately, this made it hard to produce, sell, and ship for
the colonists, which led to the Boston Tea Party against the British Tea Act. The Sons
of Liberty dressed up as Mohawk Indians and started destroying chests of tea by
dumping them into the Boston Harbor.
The Calm Before the Storm
It was on December 16,1773, when three ships arrived in Boston Harbor with tea for
the colonies, they were the Dartmouth, the Eleanor, and the Beaver. Most harbors
were sending the tea back to Britain, but Massachusetts Governor Thomas Hutchinson

The Lives Of Minimum Wage Workers
As an investigative approach to study the lives of minimum wage workers,
journalist Barbara Ehrenreich conducted this research by assuming multiple low
paid positions herself. Her essential goal for this study was to determine how low
paid workers survive on their income. She began her adjustment to the working class
lifestyle by establishing regulations for herself to eliminate any advantages from her
real life that could alleviate her throughout the process. In doing so, she abandoned
all of the luxuries that her middle class career afforded her, such as a comfortable
living environment, fresh quality meals, and working independently. Immersing
herself into this lifestyle allowed her to witness the arduous circumstances of low
wageliving that she could not have experienced otherwise.
After finding a temporary residence in an efficiency apartment within a forty five
minute drive from the prospective employment options in Key West, Florida,
Ehrenreich attempts to find a low paying job that could defray her living expenses.
She applies for multiple jobs and waits a couple of days until she is hired as a
waitress at a restaurant attached to a hotel that she calls Hearthside. During the first
few weeks as a waitress, Ehrenreich is concerned with being an effective worker
and providing a convivial atmosphere for the customers. She soon discovers that the
onerous demands of waitressing can only be alleviated by desensitising herself to the
quality of her work. Upon doing so,

Summary Of Emily Story
Emily s Story
I am sure everybody has read, or seen my posts about this life changing program, and
what it means to me. But many of you do not know my story, and my WHY.
13 years ago on July 19, 2004 I was visiting my family in San Angelo TX. My 1
year old daughter and I were running into town to run a few errands. But before that
I wanted to go out to my mom s house in the country and fill up my daughter s
bottle with soy milk. I pulled up to my mom s house and decided to leave my
daughter in the car while I went in. This was the first miracle and probably the
biggest of my story. I didn t know that at that time that little decision was going to
save her life.

He caught me in the hall way bathroom.
The next thing I remember is feeling like somebody was pinching me all over my
body. I had never seen so much blood in my whole life. It was on the ceiling and all
over the walls. I was fighting him and slipping in blood. I had so much adrenaline
rushing I didn t even know at the time all that blood was mine. I was down on the
floor kicking him as he hovered over me. The toilet had been busted into tiny pieces
and the water was spraying all the way up to the ceiling. I couldn t see there was so
much blood in my eyes. He still repeated he had to kill me. So knowing I couldn t
escape, I made the choice to play dead. I threw my body down and laid as still as I
have ever been in my whole life. All I could think about was my baby outside in the
car.
When his foot steps finally faded away, I found the strength to get up and run. I was
going to make it to the back door in my parents room, and without stopping, bust
through it. I felt like freedom was just outside. I didn t wait long enough. I couldn t
stay on my feet. There was too much blood. I slipped all over my moms ceramic tile.
Again as soon as I reached the back door, I heard him. I screamed so loud. I called
out for my step dad, hoping if I pretended he was outside, he would leave me alone.
It was then I felt his hands around my neck. I gasped for air, but I had none. The last

Remaining Elements Of IIED Against Nicole Kidman (
Nicole )
Sally Thompson (Sally) cannot successfully state a cause of action for IIED against
Nicole Kidman (Nicole). Under Illinois law, in order to claim IIED, it must be proven
that (1) the conduct involved must be truly extreme and outrageous, (2) the actor
must either intend that his conduct will inflict severe emotional distress, or know that
there is at least a high probability that his conduct will cause severe emotional
distress, and (3) the conduct must in fact cause severe emotional distress. [McGrath
at 806].
To prove extreme and outrageous conduct, there are considerations that the conduct
must fulfill.[CITE] First, the power or authority the actor has and whether or the actor
abused that power. {cite]Second, whether the actor had an illegitimate objective
behind their conduct. Third, the actor knows the other person is peculiarly
susceptible to emotional distress. [McGrath at 807]. Lastly, mere words are not
enough for emotional distress; words must be so powerful that a reasonable person
could not be expected to withstand them. [Kolegas at 203].
Remaining Elements of IIED need to expand In addition to extreme and outrageous
conduct, in order to claim IIED it must also be proven that the actor either intended
that his conduct will inflict severe emotional distress, or know that there is at least a

Example Of Autobiographical Essay

  • 1. Example Of Autobiographical Essay Writing an essay on the topic of "Example of Autobiographical Essay" can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, the task requires introspection, self-reflection, and a deep understanding of one's life experiences. On the other hand, it demands the ability to articulate those experiences in a coherent and engaging manner. Crafting an autobiographical essay involves more than just narrating a sequence of events from your life; it requires careful consideration of the significant moments, influences, and lessons that have shaped your identity. This process often involves revisiting personal memories, exploring emotions, and evaluating the impact of various life events. The difficulty lies not only in the emotional and psychological aspects but also in the technicalities of effective essay writing. It's crucial to maintain a balance between providing enough detail to make the narrative compelling and avoiding unnecessary information that may dilute the main theme. Additionally, capturing the reader's attention from the beginning and sustaining it throughout the essay requires skillful storytelling. Moreover, maintaining objectivity while narrating personal experiences can be challenging. Striking the right tone is crucial to ensure that the essay doesn't come across as overly sentimental or detached. Finding the right words to convey your thoughts and emotions accurately adds another layer of complexity. Editing and revising play a significant role in refining an autobiographical essay. It's important to review the content for coherence, clarity, and flow, while also checking for grammatical and structural errors. This process may involve multiple drafts and revisions to achieve the desired level of quality. In conclusion, writing an autobiographical essay is a demanding but enriching task that requires a blend of self-awareness, storytelling skills, and attention to detail. It is a journey into one's past, a process of self-discovery, and an opportunity to share personal insights with others. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or other writing tasks, there are resources available. Services like HelpWriting.net provide support in crafting various types of essays, offering a helping hand for individuals navigating the challenges of expressing their life stories in written form. • 2. The Biological Feeling Of Hunger Attention and focus is required as a college student and generally in everyday life. Attention to simple and mundane tasks can affect an individual when it concerns work and school and any possible relationship held. Eating motivation has so many factors. Some people eat when they are actually hungry while others eat out of boredom. Some people eat while socializing while some individuals eat due to stressful events experienced, just as mentioned by Dr. Penton in Behavioral Neuroscience (2015). The biological feeling of hunger comes from a structure in the brain called the hypothalamus. There are two areas of the hypothalamus that control hunger. The lateral hypothalamus causes the feeling of hunger while the ventromedial hypothalamus creates the feeling of satiety (Pinel, 2015). Homeostasis is an adaptive, behavioral response to nutrient deficiencies, metabolic imbalances, and other threats to the internal milieu in order to maintain certain critical survival variables at optimal levels. Imbalances are prone to occur in a fasting state, moving the body away from homeostasis. Our bodies have adapted to store fat in case we would possibly encounter a harsh winter, periods of famine, and in order to be able to reproduce. There is a standard set point and detection system our bodies aim to keep at all costs. The detection system is responsible in recognizing deviation from the set point and doing anything possible in efforts of getting the body back to a homeostatic state

The Reader s Workshop pedagogical approach focuses on pinpointing
  • 4. Superman Unethical The original Superman is by far the most ethical superhero depicted to date. He is, as they say, the super man. By choosing to only use his powers for the good of the people, he is a perfect example of moral goodness and ethics. Superman possesses the powers of flight, superhuman strength, x ray vision, heat vision, and the mind of an absolute genius. In the original comics, Supermannever lost a battle, and never killed any of his villains. While fighting may be seen as unethical, he is doing this for the purpose of serving society and helping people. Fighting is nature and although fighting itself is not ethical, the reasons for doing so can be. For as long as history has been recorded, humans have fought for just about anything, because this world has always been about survival of the fittest. Superman fighting his villains doesn t make him unethical because he is not taking their lives. Superman believes it is not his choice as to who lives or dies which is why when he fought Lex Luthor, his mortal enemy, he refused to kill him. He had him arrested instead. In Superman s eyes there will always be a better alternative than killing someone. It is not in his character to kill. With every power that he possesses, Superman could literally be the end all be all of this planet. Superman could have crushed Batman to pieces with only one punch. He could literally take over the world as villains like to say, but morally chooses to utilize his power for the greater good.
  • 5. Clive Bell And The Formalist Theory Essay Clive Bell and the Formalist Theory Art is a recurring form of human practice. Some have argued that all human societies have shown evidence of artistic activities. (Carroll 5) Man has long created art, this much is certain. However, man has never ultimately defined art. There are so many things which qualify as art and as many qualities to each piece that trying to find answers only seems result in more questions. The formalist theory of art, as present by Clive Bell, makes an attempt at defining art and answering many of these questions. Below is a discussion of the formalist theory; its definition, its strengths, and its weaknesses as evidenced by the work of Clive Bell. Clive Bell theorizes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is based on the Common Denominator Argument, which is put forth by Noel Carroll. This is one of the same arguments that Bell puts forward, Carroll simply elucidates the matter. ...the Common Denominator Argument . This argument begins with the unexceptionable presupposition that if anything is to count as a necessary condition of art status, then it must be a property had by every artwork. (Carroll 111). Carroll believes that some things are art, some things are not art, and their must be a factor common to all art which differentiates it from not art because the two things are clearly distinct. Formalism is in some ways an advantageous theory of art. It has advantages over both representationalism and expressionism. Representationalism is the theory of art that in order for something to qualify as art, it must be representative of its content. Thus, a drawing of a tree is representative of a tree because it obviously resembles a tree. The matter goes beyond that though; works of art may even be representative via metaphor, common qualities with subject, or fiat. If a work of art is classified as art via metaphor, its content is a metaphor for the actual object. Thus, in Peter and the Wolf each of the instruments is a metaphor for the subjects they represent. An oboe is not a duck, but both can make a quacking

  • 7. Struggles Of The Clay By Isabel Allende Struggles in the Clay Isabel Allende is the author of the story And of Clay Are We Created. Allende wrote a story, based on a real event, about three main characters. These characters are each in different positions in the story. In their respective position each carry something with them. They each carry a struggleand each struggle builds off the last. Allende reveals three different struggles, each revealed in correlation with the struggle before it, starting with Azucena s given struggle, Rolf s struggle revealed through A s, and the narrator s revealed because of Rolf s continued struggle. The first and most apparent struggle belongs to Azucena. Her struggle is caused by a real natural disaster that took place. A landslide of water and earth sweeps over Azucena s home in an attempt to swallow it whole. Azucena is one of those trapped and waiting for rescue from those who have come to help. She was found protruding from the mudpit, eyes wide open, calling soundlessly (Allende 355). Why is her struggle so difficult? She is trapped, with her rescuers unable to help her. Despite all those around trying to help, they just don t have the proper equipment and manpower. Not only that, she also has all this attention on her setting her up to be the symbol of the disaster. She has lost much not only struggling outside, but also in. She is trapped in mud and has had her family die around her. To her, the struggle to survive seems futile, and in the end it is. The next
  • 8. Essay about Timeline of Tolkien s Life In 1902, Cuba peacefully gained independence from the United States. A few years earlier, the U.S. had aided Cuban rebels in exorcising Spain from the colony. In 1898, after three years of fighting, Spain signed a peace treaty with the U.S. relinquishing its hold on Cuba, but no Cuban delegates were present. However, the Teller Amendment (4th Article of the Joint Resolution) confirmed that the U.S. would not permanently remain in Cuba. Cubans lobbied for an early execution of the Joint Resolution. After much resistance in the U.S., the Cuban Constitutional Convention met in 1900. Then, in 1901, the Cuban Constitution was completed, including an appendix allowing U.S. intervention if needed. Finally, On June 28, 1919, the Treaty of Versailles was signed between Germany and the Allied forces, officially concluding World War I. World War I was known as the first total war because it was fought on land, on sea, and even in the air. WWI was also known as the war to end all wars. Tolkien met Edith Bratt as a teenager when they (both orphans) had lived at Mrs. Faulkner s boarding house. At the time, Edith was 19 and Tolkien, or Ronald (as his friends called him), was 16. Edith and Ronald were inseparable, but she distracted him from his studies. When Father Francis, Ronald s guardian, discovered their relationship, he forbade Ronald from seeing Edith until he was 21 and moved Tolkien and his younger brother to different lodging. At the time, Ronald was 17 but did as he was told and once again focused on his studies. Several years later, the minute the clock struck midnight on his 21st birthday, Ronald wrote a letter to Edith declaring his unending love. Edith wrote back with the shocking news that she was engaged to someone else. Tolkien went to visit her and the two went on a walk. On that walk, Ronald convinced Edith to break off the engagement and marry him instead. Finally, on March 22, 1916, John Ronald Reuel Tolkien married Edith Bratt shortly before he was sent to France as a signaling officer in WWI. In 1925, J.R.R. Tolkien moved to Oxford, his Alma Mater, to
  • 9. Informative Essay On Violins Albert Einstein once said, A table, a chair, a bowl of fruit, and a violin; what else does a man need to be happy? The violin produces a very beautiful sound which depends on neither the violinist nor the violin. Its long history consists of its known creators and musicians, the process of its creation, and the types of violins. The people that make violins are called luthiers (luth ee ers). The earliest known Italian luthiers were Andrea Amati (1505 ?), Gasparo da Salo (1540 09), and Giovanni Maggini (1579 30). Most people agree that Amati is the first luthier. Furthermore, some composers were Arcangelo Corelli (1653 13) who was known for developing the concerto grosso , a trio, which has two violins and a cello, is accompanied by an orchestra. Niccolo Paganini (1782 40) was called The Devil s Violinist for his extreme virtuosity and Antonio Vivaldi (1678 41) is most famous for his four violin concertos that came to be The Four ... • 10. Carried Reader Response I could not imagine how Tim O Brien, and the hundreds of thousands of people felt when they received their draft notices. All I can do is imagine the initial panic and disbelief. I don t believe that I would respond calmly and just accept the fact that the military basically owned me for the duration of the Vietnam War. But I don t know if I would have the courage that Tim O Brien talks about in The Things They Carried to dodge the draft and flee to Canada. The only thing I can compare this to is when I almost quit the football team. I wanted to quit because I was too small and wasn t good enough to play, but I didn t wantmy friends on the team to think I was a quitter. It s just like how Tim didn t want to be known as a deserter but also didn t want to die in a war... I m not built for war. I m a coward. I don t think I would have the guts to kill anyone. I could probably make it through bootcamp and all, but I don t think I could handle all the death and trauma. People come back different after what they ve seen. Even after just hearing what goes on during the war gives me an appreciation for the soldiers who have served. I suppose if I did stick it out and go into the military, I would probably go into the Navy or Coast Guard to avoid the front lines. I would have a higher chance of making it through the war unscathed. Only 2570 men died in the Navy during Vietnam and only seven in the Coast Guard. On one hand, they would pay for me to go to college but on the other hand none of that matters if I don t come back from the
  • 11. Raskolnikov Hero Essay At first glance, Raskolnikov seems the opposite of a hero. He murders a defenseless old woman, then insists he has done nothing wrong. Still, his conscience torments him: He worries about his actions, his family, and the nation in which he lives. Because he thinks deeply about moral problems, Raskolnikov is ultimately able to commit brave acts, turning himself into the police and atoning for his sinful past. Though Raskolnikov spends most of the novelin a decidedly non heroic state, his keen, searching conscience allows him to attain grace in the closing epilogue and he ends the novel a hero. To be sure, Raskolnikov engages in numerous unheroic thoughts and deeds. Toward the beginning of the novel, he attacks and kills the moneylender Alyona Ivanovna. However, there is nothing in a flower that makes it good, other than its ability to be pleasing to society. The flower does not have the ability to make an overt decision to cause evil; therefore we view it as being good. These sudden attacks came as a shock to the people and government of the USA. The attacks affected not only the United States, but the entire world felt the aftershock of the event. It specifically affected the United States economy and sent it on a downward spiral. It had a huge impact on people emotionally. The most... Days after the twin towers had collapsed people were still searching for the miracle of hope, that they would once again find their loved ones alive. Amidst all the panic, it was hard for people to step back and realize that there was a very slim chance that they would find the person they were looking for. The after effects of the tragedy involved searching for bodies amongst the rubble of what was left of the World Trade CenterTowers and of the Pentagon. As people witnessed the first and second planes fly into the trade centers, they saw the buildings shatter to pieces, and watched as people desperate to escape from the peril jumped out into the streets below. It was hard to put all of these images behind them. These images affect the way the human mind functions. Humans are a unique species, one that feels sorrow, pain, and loss. The psychological effects of such trauma will affect people for the rest of their lives. The effects of 9/11 did lots of damage as it tore the country apart over racism, but it also brought the people of the United States together. Almost all Americans felt prouder than ever about the country they lived in. Surveys showcased that patriotic feelings were higher than ever before among all ethnic groups. When you sky dive, the most complicated part of the trip will be the paperwork that must be filled out prior to jumping, and getting suited up and harnessed. Special suits are worn to help the professional or individual diver adjust for wind, drag, and lift. These suits are comfortable, though not very stylish. In particular, I have tried to be willing to wonder about each topic, and I have always tried to ask relevant questions to keep the discussion going. I feel as though I was able to embody this guideline well in Module Five. My first instinct was to completely dismiss hypnotism and hypnotherapy, but I allowed myself to wonder about the possibility of both being real. In my research, I discovered that hypnotherapy was indeed a viable option for some disorders, which I would never have learned had I kept my mind closed. In my responses I definitely tried to keep the discussion going by asking questions that would allow the original poster to elaborate upon their opinions. Most of all, I attempted to ask questions that would allow for further discussion, not just a simple agreement or disagreement with my statements. Rather than taking my fellow students statements as fact, I wondered about the absolute truth of their statements. For example, Sara Walsh discussed the similarity of hypnosis and placebo, and in my response I wondered if ...the comparison between hypnotherapy and a placebo effect necessarily negate the effects of hypnotherapy? In allowing myself to wonder about hypnotherapy, it opened my mind to a whole new set of questions and opinions, and I think this is vital in critical thinking. If I were to believe hypnotherapy were real, what would influence the

Structural Research of Canyonlands National Park, Utah Essay Canyonlands National Park, immense amounts of wilderness and rock, is located at the heart of the Colorado Plateau (Canyonlands National Park Geology). Millions of years have formed specific features to the rock and surrounding wilderness that make it so special. Throughout the park, you will find that the sedimentary rock has formed many features such as hundreds of colorful canyons, mesas, buttes, fins, arches, and spires. The Green and Colorado rivers have played a major role in the formation of many of these features. These rivers cut through the park forming two massive canyons. All three sections of Canyonlands has its own distinct features that attract so much attention every year but what many would love to know is how has this immense landscape come to be? By analyzing the structure (i.e. faults, folds, tectonic plates), we have one manner in which to answer this question. Internal forces of the Earth reach and break through the surface to form volcanoes, mountains, plateaus, and many other topographical features which may later cause these layers to tip, fold, warp, or fracture. Faults play a major role in the formation of landscapes. So, by first looking at faults, hopefully we can come closer to truly understanding how Canyonlands National Park has come to be. On plateaus such as the Colorado Plateau, faults and weak rock tend to be synonymous in their locations. Faults, which are cracks or fractures in Earth s crust, form when internal heat forces and pressure from underground forces shifts the plates, thus creating stress within the plate. Faults commonly occur in elevated regions such as the Rocky Mountain region (which includes the Colorado Plateau and Canyonlands National Park). As previously mentioned, faults tend to be surrounded by weak rock. Therefore, a river or other flowing water easily cuts through this

However, from 2000s, membership declined rapidly due to the changing composition of the workforce. In addition, internal challenges contained declining in resources and memberships, which made unions realised that small unions could not survive in a neoliberal environment. Thus, a structural reform of merger wave would be embarked to respond a declining density, resulting in increased membership services and union power. However, union density continued to decline in this circumstance. Some suggested that amalgamationism was defensive adjustment rather than strategic reform. Kinnaman s Analysis Kinnaman s assessment of how Christians are perceived by non Christians should motivate us to go back to the drawing board, analyze ourselves, and put a new plan of action together. Christians should care what outsiders think about them because we are Christ s ambassadors (Kinnaman, 2007). As noted by Kinnaman (2007), when outsiders question our motives, it neutralizes their interest in Christianity(p. 69). Christians should embody love, compassion, patience, forgiveness, and service, among other things and if this is not the case, then, we are clearly misrepresenting the love and the grace of the Father (Kinnaman, 2007). The Lives Of Minimum Wage Workers As an investigative approach to study the lives of minimum wage workers, journalist Barbara Ehrenreich conducted this research by assuming multiple low paid positions herself. Her essential goal for this study was to determine how low paid workers survive on their income. In doing so, she abandoned all of the luxuries that her middle class career afforded her, such as a comfortable living environment, fresh quality meals, and working independently. Immersing herself into this lifestyle allowed her to witness the arduous circumstances of low wageliving that she could not have experienced otherwise. So we did We climbed it 4 or 5 times each then i wanted to jump off it, I jumped off it first. We jumped off it twice. My third jump was my last jump and the jump that changed my life. On my final jump i landed in 2 cm of snow. That snow wasn t close enough to what we were jumping into a 2 feet of snow kinda ended and i landed on that one spot. My left ankel took most of the impact. When i hit the ground my ankle had a really sharp pain i tried to walk it off but it just got worse and at this time i had no clue what to do. I kept on yelling for my mom and no one came i was scared. I started to yell at my friend. This is when my little brother got to the hill we started to yell at him telling him to go get my mom. When my brother left it felt like hours went by as i sat there in pain. My mother finally showed up they loaded me onto one of the 2 sleds we had and started to pull me. • 53. Summary Of Emily Story Emily s Story I am sure everybody has read, or seen my posts about this life changing program, and what it means to me. But many of you do not know my story, and my WHY. 13 years ago on July 19, 2004 I was visiting my family in San Angelo TX. My 1 year old daughter and I were running into town to run a few errands. But before that I wanted to go out to my mom s house in the country and fill up my daughter s bottle with soy milk. I pulled up to my mom s house and decided to leave my daughter in the car while I went in. This was the first miracle and probably the biggest of my story. I didn t know that at that time that little decision was going to save her life. As I entered through the front door, I saw a man in the distance. I realized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I told him I had a little girl I had to live for. He did not care. He was going to kill me. He caught me in the hall way bathroom. The next thing I remember is feeling like somebody was pinching me all over my body. I had never seen so much blood in my whole life. It was on the ceiling and all over the walls. I was fighting him and slipping in blood. I had so much adrenaline rushing I didn t even know at the time all that blood was mine. I was down on the floor kicking him as he hovered over me. The toilet had been busted into tiny pieces and the water was spraying all the way up to the ceiling. I couldn t see there was so much blood in my eyes. He still repeated he had to kill me. So knowing I couldn t escape, I made the choice to play dead. I threw my body down and laid as still as I have ever been in my whole life. All I could think about was my baby outside in the car. When his foot steps finally faded away, I found the strength to get up and run. I was going to make it to the back door in my parents room, and without stopping, bust through it. I felt like freedom was just outside. I didn t wait long enough. I couldn t stay on my feet. There was too much blood. I slipped all over my moms ceramic tile. Again as soon as I reached the back door, I heard him. I screamed so loud. I called out for my step dad, hoping if I pretended he was outside, he would leave me alone. It was then I felt his hands around my neck. I gasped for air, but I had none. The last thought I

  • 55. Remaining Elements Of IIED Against Nicole Kidman ( Nicole ) Sally Thompson (Sally) cannot successfully state a cause of action for IIED against Nicole Kidman (Nicole). Under Illinois law, in order to claim IIED, it must be proven that (1) the conduct involved must be truly extreme and outrageous, (2) the actor must either intend that his conduct will inflict severe emotional distress, or know that there is at least a high probability that his conduct will cause severe emotional distress, and (3) the conduct must in fact cause severe emotional distress. [McGrath at 806]. To prove extreme and outrageous conduct, there are considerations that the conduct must fulfill.[CITE] First, the power or authority the actor has and whether or the actor abused that power. {cite]Second, whether the actor had an illegitimate objective behind their conduct. Third, the actor knows the other person is peculiarly susceptible to emotional distress. [McGrath at 807]. Lastly, mere words are not enough for emotional distress; words must be so powerful that a reasonable person could not be expected to withstand them. [Kolegas at 203]. Remaining Elements of IIED need to expand In addition to extreme and outrageous conduct, in order to claim IIED it must also be proven that the actor either intended that his conduct will inflict severe emotional distress, or know that there is at least a high probability that his conduct will cause severe emotional distress; and that the conduct must in fact cause severe emotional distress.
