Strategy Easyjet
2.1Strategy EasyJet has adopted its business model from Southwest Airlines from the United
states. It is adapted to the European market trough further cost cutting measures. Important points
in this business model are high aircraft utilization, short times on airport, charging for not
needed extras and put much efforts in keeping the operating costs low. The key words in the
strategy of Easy jet are low price and no frill based on Porter s generic strategies (2.1.1)
(appendix XX). This states for: Simple price, simple service Unified aircraft and cheaper airports
Maximize utilization and internet Strong branding and charm of entrepreneurship Economy of
scale and dense networks Low price and no frill business... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No frills strategy combines a low price with a lower perceived product and/or service and focus
on the price sensitive market segment. For EasyJet this means that in order to reduce the price,
the consumer receives less services like a drink and meal on the aircraft during flight. Long term
strategyThe most recent long term strategy of EasyJet is given in the annual report and accounts
of 2011. Five points are mentioned in this report: Safety Focus on costumer Operational
excellence Commitment of employees Financial discipline Ad 1Safety and sustainability EasyJet
claims to never compromise their commitment to safety. Safety is the company s first priority
and they will continually strive to improve their sustainability. Internal procedures and processes
help to maintain no significant incidents occur. At the same time the airliner increases his on
time performance. The relative young fleet of EasyJet with mostly the Airbus 319 is a way they
take for confidential safety issue. Safety and in a way efficiency helps to reduce the cost. This is
seen as an important part of the strategy of EasyJet. Ad2Focus on costumer This long term
strategy is based on the strive to satisfy the consumer so they will recommend EasyJet to other
possible consumers. This is also achieved by focusing on the network development by improving

Lake Erie College Essay
Running head: SHORT TITLE
Title
Jazmine Banks
Lake Erie College
In the United States, the political system is dominated by two parties, democrats and republicans.
These organizations promote an idea and policy to win electrons. Over time these two parties
ideology switched rolls and changed. This paper will explain how they differ and favor one
another. It will also explain how they have changed over time. In July of 1854, the Republican Party
was formed. This group was created by a group of men who belonged to various splinter parties
(PBS.). These founders had opposed slavery, which made many of the republicans were liberal.
Within the Republican Party came former whigs and former free soil democrats to form majorities
in nearly every Northern state. In 1860 when Abraham Lincoln, republican candidate, became the
president, slavery was abolished. Then as time had progressed and the 1900s came strolling in,
republicans embraced social conservatism (Wiki). Where the democrats became more so liberal.
President Franklin E. Roosevelt came along and presented the New Deal. This drew in many of the
new democratic party. The New Deal became the response of the Great Depression. Many of the
conservative republicans did not favor this deal because Roosevelt was spending a lot more money
than the amount of taxes coming in, which put them in a disadvantage. Republicans also had
complained that the New Deal

Persuasive Essay On Japanese American Internment
Would you want to be locked up in an internment camp for 3 years? Japanese Americans were
interned for 3 years and lost all of their possessions because of the potential threat they posed of
espionage and tyranny. Japanese Americans were put into internment camps out of an act of racism
by the U.S. people. Japanese Americans were legal citizens at birth. Under the constitution if they
were born in the U.S. than they were by law a legal citizen. They went to programs such as school
just like any other person and they were lawfully a citizen. They were having their rights violated
when the U.S. took the nearly 75,000 American born Japanese Americans to internment camps.
Their rights were violated so what the U.S. did was an unlawful act against the constitution.... Show

America took all of their stuff besides a few small belongings and forcibly moved all of them to
internment camps. That denies the constitution under the fourth amendment where it specifically
states, No belongings or personal items shall be taken or seized in any way without the proper
search warrant or reason to do so. The U.S. took the stuff of the Japanese Americans without the
proper warrants, so that makes another reason why it was unconstitutional for the U.S. to take the
stuff of the Japanese Americans. Although Japanese Americans rights were violated, people at
this time didn t know if they posed a potential threat to the U.S. or not. For all they knew the
Japanese Americans could have a secret organization dedicated to helping and coordinating
Japanese attacks. The hysteria was there at this time, so it may look like a bad thing now that
they got interned but people didn t know what they were or could be doing. Even though the rights
of Japanese Americans may look like they would have been violated, nowadays back then people
did not know what they were capable

The Role Of Immigrants In A Summers Reading
From the information we can understand that in the beginning of the 20th century large numbers
of immigrants came to New York City searching for more desirable life for themselves and their
future generations, the American middle class dream. In addition, these people believed that if
they work hard and have faith in themselves, they will be able to achieve a great life full of
satisfaction.
This idea is clearly reflected in A Summers Reading, the story is set in a poor immigrant
neighborhood in New York City. We know the characters are immigrants from their names.
(Cattanzara is Italian and Stoyonovich is probably Slavic). George wants to attain the American
Dream. He wants a nice house with a porch on a street with trees. He is, however

Ponyboy Character Analysis
Sometimes people judge a book by its cover. Ponyboy from The Outsiders was a person that was
judged by many people. He is in a gang, they call themselves the greasers. They are poorer than the
Socs and the middle class. When people see them they immediately think, dirty troublemakers but
they are more like a group of friendshanging out. They are like one big family and very few of
them from the gang actually start trouble. Being that Ponyboy is a greaser, people think that he
is a troublemaker and a bad person but that is not the case. Ponyboy is a unique young man that
does not start trouble and does not like fighting. He is also a very good friend. I can say that I
am most like him because I find that we have very many things in common when it comes to
identity and personality. He is a nice person who s smart in school and that is what sets him apart
from the rest of his gang. Although he may not think properly when he s out of school and it leads
him to trouble, he still keeps his good grades and respect towards others.
Ponyboy is a very good friend. He has a friend named Johnny who is also a greaser. Johnny is
going through so much throughout the story. He runs away from his home because he heard his
mother and father fighting like they always do. He goes to the park and he says, I can t take much
more. I ll kill myself or something. Johnny hated that his parents fought so much and he didn t want
to be around it. His parents were neglectful and abusive, both

Sarbanes Oxley Act Pros And Cons
At first, the Sarbanes Oxley Act is the U.S. law about to protect investors from the possibility of
deceptive accounting activity by a corporation and improving fraudulent a financial report. The act
commands strict reforms to improve financial disclosures from corporations and prevent accounting
fraud. The act requires to companies because it increases the credibility of the companies financial
statements from investors. The act defined to restore investor s confidence in the financial market

At first, it can increase the reliability of the financial statements because outside of the company
auditors prove the financial reports are correct, so investors are persuaded the financial information
by the reports. Reliability of the financial statements is affected by investment and the company s
profit. Moreover, a company pays more attention to make financial statements and take more time to
editing the financial information to making it correctly because the financial statements must be
true for investors. Furthermore, the financial reports have the minimizing the errors because the
company spends much time to editing and check it many times to find the mistakes and fix it to
make a complete financial report. On the other hand, the Sarbanes Oxley Act has weak point that is
companies must spend much money on the act such as paying for auditors and internal control
software. Thus, many business people argue about the act is a success or a failure because it has
some advantage and disadvantage like these points, but the act is valuable because it has more

Management And Marketing Models Of Aravind Eye Hospital
Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai, India, was founded in 1976 with a goal to offer quality eye
care at a reasonable cost. Now as of 1992 there are three locations with a total of 1,224 beds and
around 200,000 patients addressed per year. While these numbers are impressive relative to the
starting point of the organization, if they continue unchanged it would take approximately 100
years for Aravind to clear the backlog of 20 million blind eyes currently in India, longer with
approximately another 2 million blind eyes being added to that number each year. The sheer
quantity is clearly is a problem for Aravind to address its mission of eradicating needless blindness
in India, and that is not even accounting for any of the outstanding issues existing in the current
operational, management and marketing models of the organization. Aravind Eye Hospitalhas
certainly made many achievements since its formation, but further investigation on improvements
and innovations must be made in order for the organization to stay relevant to its mission moving
into the future.
Aravind has many critical components that contribute to the success it has had so far in addressing
the organization s mission statement and creating social value. One of the key features is Dr.
Venkataswamy (Dr. V.), who is the ophthalmic surgeon that founded and built up Aravind with the
mission of eradicating needless blindness in India. Dr. V. is the dynamic driver of the organization,

Mother Combing Her Child s Hair
It can be hard to pinpoint what exactly makes a bond between a mother and a child so special.
Artist Mary Cassatt skillfully captures this bond in her paintings, and her artwork Mother
Combing Her Child s Hair is no exception. On the right side of the painting, a mother is sitting in
a green and yellow chair with a small blond girl, about 2 or 3 years old, on her lap. One of the
mothers hands holds a comb with which she is combing her daughter s shoulder length hair. The
mother s other hand is on the daughter s chin, stabilizing her head. The daughter has a dreamy
expression on her face as she stares contentedly off into the distance. The mother has a kind, gentle
expression on her face while she focuses on making her daughter s hair pretty. The left half of the
paintinghas a mirror that reflects the mother, daughter, a window and cabinet. In the painting
Mother Combing Her Child s Hair, Cassatt shows the close bond of a mother and child by using
pastel colors, soft, loose brushstrokes, physical closeness throughout the painting, and a quiet
everyday scene.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most prominent colors, yellow and green, are on the wall, chair, and frame of the mirror.
The rosy orange is dabbed on the cheeks of the mother and child and on the back cushion of the
seat the mother is sitting in. The light brown is in the mother s hair and on the wall reflected in
the mirror. The repetition of these main colors help draw the viewer s eye around the painting.
Pastel colors are associated with babies, so these pastel colors are fitting for the little girl in the
picture. In addition, pastel colors help create a peaceful, pleasant, sweet mood, portraying the
calmness of this scene and the bond between the mother and

Summary Of Greg Mortenson s Three Cups Of Tea
A Book of Lies Greg Mortenson, co author of Three Cups of Tea, has been under many
controversial assumptions recently. His book contains stories of attempting to climb the Pakistani
mountain K 2, discovering deprived friendly villages, and building schools all across Afghanistan.
Although this novel is supposedly said to be nonfiction, how much of it is actually true?
Mortenson must have been too busy with all of his factual speeches to realize that one day
someone might see right through his dishonesty. Mortenson s corruption is due to his mendacity,
his abuse of money and partnership, and his two faced personality. Half of Three Cups of Tea was
merely a liewaiting to be discovered. Not to break apart his book completely, Mortenson did in fact

Although Greg Mortenson dedicates his life to building schools and helping kids, he still
continues to deny factual accusations that he has not been straightforward about his stories or
his progress. One thing Mortenson fails to mention about all of the fascinating and life
threatening adventures that take place in the book is that they are mostly make believe. Indeed,
many of the events occur in Three Cups of Tea are only a figment of Mortenson s imagination.
In the book, Mortenson is said to have promised a school to a village named Korphe that he
supposedly found on accident after his failed effort to climb K 2. In reality, Mortenson had
actually promised the village of Khane a school in 1993. Even though he assured the people of
Khane a school before even discovering Korphe, Mortenson built the school in Korphe first. In

The Cost Of A College Education
Often students don t believe they can afford college. Their parents don t have the money to assist
them and they know working a part time job isn t going to cover the cost of a college education.
These students should have the same opportunities as everyone else which is why the government
has setup some programs for students that are in need of financial assistance.
Many students may wonder what kinds of federal grants are available. There are a number of
grants available; some of these are Federal Pell grants, Federal Supplemental Educational
Opportunity Grants (FSEOG), Teach Education (TEACH) grants, and Iraq and Afghanistan Service
Grants. These grants are offered by the US Department of Education(ED). These programs ... Show

This particular grant is a grant that requires the student to take certain kinds of classes to receive
the grant. Once the TEACH grant is awarded, the student is required to obtain a certain type of job
for a certain amount of time to prevent the grant from turning into a loan. This particular grant was
established to assist students with college that plan to become a teacher in a high ended field in a
low income area. By accepting this grant, if you fail to teach for a certain amount of time the grant
will turn into a direct subsidized loan that you will have to pay back.
Lastly, there are programs and funds available to our former military members. The Iraq and
Afghanistan service grant is for students that had a parent or guardian that died due to serving in a
military service in Iraq or Afghanistan. Much like other federal grants, Iraq and Afghanistan
service members are provided grant money to be used for college or career school students. This
money is to assist in paying for their educational expenses.
Another question you may hear often is, what steps should you take in applying for federal
grants? There is two steps to applying for federal grants. Well the first step you will take in
getting a federal grant is to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). FAFSA is
income based and normally if you have a low income, and

Safety Enforcement By Police And The Fire Department Essay
There are two images. Imagine you are walking down the sidewalk next to your home, and you
see a small boy riding a bike. The child accidentally hits a curb with the bike, and falls over,
scraping his head on the concrete. You see a nasty gash, and quickly help the boy stop the bleeding
while determining if it is a life threatening injury. Depending on what you find, you might call for
an ambulance, or if it is not threatening, you might just walk the boy back to his home and help him
back to his parents. In either case, you have demonstrated social responsibility. However, there is
another image. Imagine you are busy filing papers in your office. You happen to glance at your
phone and see a notification from your news source reporting a wildfire outbreak about 50 miles
away. In this case, all you can do is remain updated as to what is happening, and be vigilant to
obey safety enforcement by police and the fire department. That is the normal apex of an
individual s social responsibility in such a circumstance. On the other hand, professional privilege
has a significant role in this, especially in the context of publicrelations. It is the expectation of
public relationsand media sources to report the happenings with accuracy and promptness. By
looking more closely at professional privilege and social responsibility in context of public
relations, one should be able to gain a better understanding as to how they relate to each other. As

The Building Of A Nation
The building of a nation is a complex and lengthy process. There is no step by step plan, nor a
prescribed formula. It is a combination of features, structures and socially constructed norms. A
nation is an intrinsically ambiguous term. Questions consistently arise like, who defines a nation?
and what defines a nation? The building of a nation explicitly links with the modern state, ethnicity
and industrialisation. Ethnicity is a key feature of this and synonymous with identity, it is the most
important factor in the forming of a nation. In analysing identity through language and religion, we
will find that it is vital to the stability of the state that there is common linguistic understanding and
a respect of religious differences. This will allow us to look at identity, language, centre periphery
and religion, before concluding that identity and ethnicity the most important features of nation
building. Nation building, from the Treaty of Westphalia up until 1900s, was based upon building
bigger nations out of smaller ones. Most simply, a nation is bound together by a sense of belonging
and a shared common good. Often this definition becomes blurred, and it is in the challenging of
one of these elements that a nation fails. Imperialism (and, in the late nineteenth century,
unification) was present and saw smaller entities being combined to build larger ones. Post WWI,
the trend was away from Empires of many ethnicities and instead towards smaller, ethnically

The Veldt And Greed
Greed: How Much is Too Much? Greed naturally drives people to acquire more land, wealth, and
power, but it sometimes drives them too far. Even if they acknowledge their greed, they usually
choose to ignore it and continue their quest for more. Greed blurs the line between the things the
characters want and need in the two stories, How Much Land Does A Man Need? by Leo Tolstoy
and Ray Bradbury s The Veldt . Although the characters in these stories may recognize their
excessive greed, they choose to ignore it which directly leads to their downfall. Although the
characters in the story have more than enough to survive, they are still driven by the natural human

Should Trophys Be Allowed In Kids Sports
Is giving kids participation trophies beneficial to children, or motivation killers? Many people
all around the U.S. have their opinions for both sides of the discussion. James Harrison,
linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, has weighed in on this topic. In many people s eyes, his
beliefs make a lot of sense, they understand where he s coming from and what he is speaking
about. Carol Dweck also made a statement to NPR about her belief s on the topic. There are

These kids are a cancer to teams. Everyone knows that there are always kids with bad attitudes
that do not care; therefore, kids that act like this do not deserve to have a participation trophy.
They do not care about the team and some of them are very impertinent. There are even some
people that are there because their parents force them to play. There parents may have been really
good athletes, but their kids are not always the best. Those kids are not respectful to the team, so
why should they get a trophy for that?
Finally, kids that are given participation trophies are given the wrong idea. Fifty seven percent of
people said only winners deserve to have participation trophies, giving out participation trophies is
tantamount to giving kids the wrong praise, and giving kids with bad attitudes and not a care in
the world is not a good idea. These kids need to realize that they need
to earn things that are given to them. James Harrison had every right to take those trophies away
from his kids. He is making those kids want to work harder and strive to earn a real trophy one
day. Maybe one day they will end up like him and win a super bowl. That is when they are able to
be given a trophy. When kids try their hardest and earn these trophies, that is when they should be

The International Accounting Standards Board Essay
The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and U.S. Financial Accounting
Standards Board (FASB) have been working on convergence of U.S. GAAP and IFRS since
2002, but it has been a challenging process on combining the standards between U.S. GAAP and
IFRS, especially when there are two set of approaches on standards, where U.S. GAAP is rules
based and IFRS is principles based. The U.S. GAAP is rules based by following a set of
guidelines opposed to IFRS, is principles based by having an objectives of good reporting and
provides the best judgement on the guidance to a specific circumstance. It takes a lot of effort to
converge accounting standards between U.S. GAAP and IFRS, such as training personnel on the
new policies and procedures, updating the accounting policies, improving a new information
system, and updating internal control procedures, which you can see the reason American
companies is reluctant on this transition. Just like any new updates in standards, it has its issue and
difficulty as in the cost of transition, the resources to make the changes, and a period where
financial reporting will be unable to have the comparability for financial statement users. Bottom
line, transition is a messy process and have its complexity. The table 1 below summarized the six
accounts analyzed earlier; these accounts show the impact on American companies financial

Essay About Vacation In The Caribbean Vacation
Choosing vacations destinations can become a stressful process. However, if the goal is to find
locations outside of the United States and wan to travel to countries in the Caribbean and Latin
America I have a few suggestions for you. Negril, Jamaica and Cancun Mexico are among the best
vacations spots I have ever visited. The beaches, the accommodations, and the food is amazing in
both countries.
Negril, Jamaica was the second place out of the United States I vacationed. The resort I stayed in
was a five star all inclusive adult only resort named Swept Away. The accommodations in Swept
Away were astonishing. I stayed in a bungalow styled room separate from the main resort rooms.
The bungalow was located on the beach near the shoreline. The room was huge. In it there was a
queen size bed made of wood and two lounge chairs. The bedding was bright white linen and the
cushions on the lounge chairs were made of the same bright white linen. Large white mosquito
net was draped around the bed. The white bedding, cushions and mosquito net gave the room a
nice calm and romantic feeling. Also, there was a balcony adjacent to the room. The balcony had
a white linen sofa and two end tables made of wood. The view from the balcony was of the
beautiful blue oceans and beach.
The beaches in Negril bore light brown almost beige colored sand. The sand felt like soft little
pebbles between your toes when stepped on. Most of the time mellow calypso or reggae music

The Positive Effects Of Violence And Violence In Video Games
Henry Jenkins states that the worst thing a kid can say about homework is that it is too hard.
The worst thing a kid can say about a video game is that it is too easy, meaning the harder the
game, the better the experience. The Psychological group reports that more than 90% of children
in the U.S. play video games. Among the kids between the ages of 12 and 17, the number rises to
97%. Eighty five percent or more of video games on the market contain violence. CBS says that
within reviewing more than 150 research papers, the task force found a consistent relationship
between the games and the increase in aggressive behavior. August 12, 2013 Adam Lanza shot 26
people in Newtown, Connecticut at Sandy Hook Elementary school. Investigators went looking
around at addresses in Adams GPS to find out that he went to a theatre quit often and found out that
he went to a theatre and played one specific arcade gameevery time he showed up. A few times the
manager had to unplug the game just to have him leave the theatre before closing. Violent video
games are active while watching tv is passive. People learn better when they are actively
involved. Players of violent games are more likely to identify with a violent character. Violent
games directly reward violent behavior such as by awarding points or by allowing players to
advance to the next games level. In some games, players are rewarded through verbal praise such
as hearing the words Nice Shot! after killing the enemy. It is well known that rewarding behavior
increases its frequency. The video gameindustry is the fourth largest entertainment industry in the
world. Many as 97% of U.S. kids age 12 17 play video games, contributing to the $21.53 billion
domestic video game industry. More than half of the 50 top selling video games contain
violence. In 2008 video game sales peaked with almost 300 million units being sold. Of that
amount 28% were rated teen by ESRB (entertainment software rating board) and five percent rated
mature. In 2004, teen related games made up 33% of all games manufactured and produced while
mature rated made up 12%. By 2007 teen rated made up only 20% and mature made up six percent.

During the transition stage, I expect to experience various aspects stemming from storming the

Quiet storming. Because of the topic of the group, I expect members to be able to relate to each

storming where members will avoid engaging in the conversation. There might be a conflict within
them between how much they wish to share. When I see members exhibiting this type of behavior
in the group, I will mention that they have been quiet for a while and ask them if they wish to share.
Resistance. If members express resistance and are not ready to share about certain topics at this
moment, I will let them know that it is okay and that we can come back to it another time. Because
the group will still be getting acquainted with one another, I do not want to push any members to

Deception, whether intentional or not, did occur. The shareholders had a right to know the
financial state of WorldCom. In Ebber s defense, he had unscrupulous bed fellows on this board.
Their intentions are also at question especially regarding their eagerness to grant Mr. Ebbers a
breathtaking loan for $341 million dollar at an interest rate of 2% to shield the instability of the
company s financial situation from shareholders. There were also some concerns whether such
loans were ethical from the Security Exchange Commission Enforcement official Seth Taube. He
stated that large loans to senior executives are commonly sweetheart deals involving interest
rates that constitute a poor return on company assets. Federal prosecutors in New York cited
Ebbers s expensive lifestyle, and his overspending, as a motive to hide WorldCom s mounting
financial troubles. The impropriety associated with the largest loan any publicly traded company
has lent to one of its officers in recent memory is evident. Unfortunately, if Ebbers had pressed the
matter and sold his stock, he would have escaped the bankruptcy financially whole, but Ebbers
honestly thought WorldCom would recover. The series of clever manipulations to bury almost $4

Elizabethan Entertainment Essay
In Elizabethan England, before the theatre was accepted, there were various forms of
entertainment. Whether one lived in a small town or the great city of London, dances were very
popular, as well as meeting with friends at the local pub for sing alongs. Chess, checkers and tennis
also happened to be popular games at the time, along with hunting, fencing and bear baiting for the
upper class. However, once the Globe Theatrewas introduced in 1599, new standards for human fun
and enjoyment were created (Mabillard). Because of the Globe Theatre, talented actors, and brilliant
playwrights such as William Shakespeare, the world of entertainment has forever been changed.
Before the world of theatre was popular, acting and plays were considered taboo. Elizabethan
people loved entertainment. Feasts, fairs, and festivals were all common occurrences throughout
the year, a lot of which were dictated by the Church and religious affiliations. Whenever there was
something to celebrate, such as a betrothal, wedding, or a victory, the people of Elizabethan
England were always eager to oblige. Linda Alchin writes that court entertainment was often a
regular, nightly occurrence combined with feasts, jousts and banquets often accompanied by music
and dancing (Alchin). All classes seemed to delight in the vicious form of entertainment known as
bear baiting, but it was without doubt Queen Elizabeth s favourite pastime. Dogs would be pitted
against bears or bulls and onlookers would gather

Informative Essay On Coral Reefs
In the news reporters often talk about the effects of global warming as if they are anywhere from
five to one hundred years off in the future. Those dangers like unpredictable and catastrophic
weather patterns may not pose a major threat to human populations yet. However, for the
inhabitants of earth s coralreefs, the planet s constant warming immediately endangers thousands
of species. While coral reefs occupy only a small fraction of the ocean s floor, they account for
roughly one fourth of the world s marine life. Coral itself, which in large part comprises coral
reefs is made up of thousands of tiny polyps that cling together and secrete a hard outer coating
binding the individual polyps together (Jaap, 212 213). Generally coral make up the vast majority
of all reefs, but soft bodied organisms like anemones litter the sea bed as well. Coral reefs
seemingly eternal balance with man is now in jeopardy, as small things like clownfish infertility
and massive coral population loss begin to snowball, eventually leading to human casualties. These
vibrant structures made up of millions of years of development do not face potential threats from
global warming. The existing threats are imminent.
As mentioned, sea anemones accompany coral on the bottom of the earth s enormous seas. While
this may be true, anatomically they are greatly different from hard bodied corals. They cling to
rocks on the seabed using the bottom of their bodies, Their pedal disc, which functions a lot

Antigone Vs Duccio
The most important difference between MaestГ and Antigone is the message that each portrays to
society. Duccio di Buoninsegna s series of individualized paintings depicting the Virgin Mary
display her as a central figure that is respected and possibly worshiped by both men and women.
Sophocles play on the other hand displays female oppression through his main character and the
lack of dedication to religion by men. I think this is an important differencebecause each work of art
exposes the beliefs that each artist conveys about their individualized society. Even though there are
many distinctions between Duccio s MaestГ and Sophocles Antigone, I believe that the most
important difference is the message that each... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For starters, Antigone was created in 441 BCE Athens, a city state in Ancient Greece, where the
only thing more powerful than a man s pride in Athens political system was preserving their
egos. During this time, it was evident that the women were firmly wedged underneath the thumb
of Athenian men. The playwright s tragedy encompasses this several times through his
characters. He writes, As far as she s concerned, we bear no guilt. But she s lost her place living
here with us, (Sophocles Excerpt 4). In this quote Antigone s uncle, King Creon ostracizes his
niece because she disobeyed his demands when she performed a burial custom for her brother,
Polyneices. This quote assists in proving that one of the major messages of Sophocles play is the
domination of Athenian men over women. During Sophocles life, Athenian females were not able
to attend the plays, defend themselves in court, choose who they would marry, or spend their
money freely. This idea was reinforced in his play by showing the harshness of Antigone s
treatment by King Creon, exhibiting that females were not equal and certainly did not have the
same liberties as men did. The

Morality In Kate Chopin s The Awakening
Value is a subjective domain. What is insignificant to one is priceless to another. In that
subjectivity, one tends to measure value in cost what would you give for this? Some things come
cheap, a minute of your day, a dollar of your savings. Others demand more, a piece of your soul,
your mortal life altogether.
In Kate Chopin s revolutionary final masterpiece, The Awakening, Edna Pontellier is a young
married mother of two in luxurious nineteenth century New Orleans. Finding herself walled in by
the oppression of patriarchal standards for a woman of means, Edna struggles with her identity
and values. She watches as the women around her revel in their roles as wives and mothers, as
they play their roles with the ease of ministering angels. Unable, or rather unwilling, to submit to
these arbitrary posts, Edna ends her life in a manner as theatrical as it is tragic. She drowns herself
in the ocean of the resort her family summers at. As she feels herself slipping into the anesthetic lull
of death, Edna believes she is escaping the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To Madame Pontellier, an existence in the shackles of so called domestic felicity is worse than no
life at all. In death she takes ownership of her fate, sealing it for herself. This final act defines
Edna, by revealing not only her values but how calamitously far she will go to protect them.
Edna values herself, her freedom, her own identity. In light of Edna s sacrifice, the values of the
surrounding characters come to light as well. Leonce, her husband, values obedience and social
convention, as does Edna s friend, Madame Ratignolle. She serves as a foil to Edna in her aptitude
for domestic pursuits as Edna struggles to even keep the appearance of contentment. Edna s mentor
and the town eccentric, Mme Reisz s values become clear in her refusal to conform to standard
accordances. Both she and Edna prioritize their independence above all

What A Stereotypical Dance World !
What a Stereotypical Dance World! There are many different worlds on this planet we live on
called Earth. Everyone alive lives in some kind of little world of their own. There is the celebrity
world, the Disney World, Wally world , lots of different sports worlds, scholastic worlds, and so
many others. There is a particular world that some live in, and that is the World of Dance. When you
are a part of that world, you literally live and breathe it. Every aspect of the dance culture is
wrapped up in that world. To those looking in from the outside it is beautiful, filled with lights,
lovely costumes, mesmerizing music, and graceful movements.
Perhaps the very first image the general public would see in their mind s eye, upon hearing the
word dancer , is that of a darling little five year old girl in a pretty pink tutu and delicate ballet
slippers stepping into her local dance studio for the first time. Take someone a little deeper into
that thought, and they might see an overly thin, pale sixteen year old young woman, with
collarbones and ribs showing working herself almost to death to earn a minor part in a dance
chorus. Suggest that someone describe a dancer in the height of their career, and you might hear
of a Prima Ballerina with the Moscow Ballet. Ask someone to visualize a dancer in later years,
and they might picture an older woman with a greying bun atop her head, leading a class or
perhaps helping younger dancer perfect a performance, who is likely ailing

A Better Way Of Life
A Better Way of Life Alcoholism is a disease that affects millions of people all around the world.
Everyday people die from alcoholism, families are split, children and wives are abused, jobs are
lost and good people seem more and more hopeless. According to Mayoclinic.org, an online medical
dictionary, alcoholismcan be described as a pattern of heavy drinking which involves trouble of
controlling the intake of alcohol, still drinking after problems flourish that are caused by our
drinking, having to drink more and more every time to get to the same buzz and having alcohol
withdrawals when you stop or drink less. These are symptoms of a life threatening disease.
Many might say that alcoholism is mind state and could simply be dominated with a strong will
power, this is not the case. A true alcoholic cannot stop drinking on his own and live a happy and
normal life. Alcohol takes control of the mind , the body and the spirit, quitting seems nearly
impossible. According to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence,
(NCADD), this year in the United states it was calculated that around 17.6 Million people drink
alcohol in an abusive way. It also mentions that 88,000 deaths are due an excessive use of alcohol
and 40% of patients in hospitals are being treated for conditions caused by a heavy drinking
lifestyle. It is clear and evident that there is a huge problem, a problem that is ignored by many
who do not see this disease as dangerous as it really is.

Kingdom of God
What exactly is the kingdom of God? How does one recognize the kingdom? Are you in the
kingdom of God? So often, people search for the evidence of the kingdom of God rather than
simply identifying it. In the present day, the stress is evasively put on works and actions rather
than a personal relationship with God. Too many people fall into the trap of participating in as
many activities as they can, living to have their good deeds noticed by others; however, the key
point is entirely missed. It is the innermost intimate part of a person that divulges the power of an
individual s life, not the actions. Jesusmakes this clear in the book of Luke when he states, The
kingdom of Godis not coming with things that can be observed; nor will... Show more content on

This passage contrasts the present and the future magnificence of the kingdom, which is constantly
growing.
The kingdom of God includes everyone: the poor, the gentiles, the outcast, the oppressed, the
women, Samaritans, tax collectors, the sick, and the sinners. Jesus states that the blind receive
their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor
have good news brought to them (Lk. 7:22). If you take this out of the context of which it was
written and it may not seem like a very big deal that some of these groups of people would be
included in the kingdom of God, but in reality, Jesus caused a lot of controversy through
focusing on these neglected and oppressed people. The possession of illnesses and sin created a
greater sense of desperation within the people, this allowed more room for grace to abound in
their lives and explains the reason why miracles took place in their lives more often than the rich
and prestigious upper class. A significant aspect of Jesus teaching was setting people free from sin
and giving them dominion over evil (Drane 149). Jesus constantly breaks down social barriers and
places heavy emphasis on going against the social boundaries that separate the people.
Jesus completely redefines the role of Jewish women, which Luke draws special attention to this
throughout his book. In the Bible, women were of little to no value. They were

Golden Gate Bridge Monuments
Have you ever been to Mt. Rushmore? Or the Gateway Arch? What about the Golden Gate
Bridge? There s one thing these all have in common: they re all monuments that had a lot of
planning go into them. Monuments are built in order for people to remember and honor the past.
Whether it be people or events, there are many factors a group must consider when creating a
monument. Monuments are a physical form of a history book; they help re create and remember
past events and people. When memorializing an event of person, a group of people should consider
cost, design, and text factors when creating a monument.
The cost to build a monument is a huge factor in creating a memorial. The group would have to
create a monument that fits their budget, or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Words can be tricky when they are being placed on a monument. One has to make sure the
quotes are correct. One has to make sure the quotes are perceived how they should be. One has
to make sure names and other words are correctly spelled. Is the monument even going to have
any words on it? All of these contribute to what one must consider when adding words to a
monument. Any sort of word would bring back memories of the event. As stated by Lin, words
can be used to capture a specific moment in time or a single event or a generalized image to
resurrect memories of those lost in a tragic event. This is the goal of any monument at it s purest;
to remember an event as it happened. Words can also depict important saying of the past, as it does
the Gettysburg Address on the Lincoln Memorial (Savage). This is cause for importance because it
prevents those words from being lost or twisted in the pages of history books. Words are of vast
importance when building a monument, as they protect the quotes and people of the past from
being nothing.
Cost, design, and words are only a few factors that should be considered when building a
monument. As proved by prior facts, these by far are the most important as they dictate what people
see and read. Without monuments, the public would have difficulties remembering and honoring
past events and people. Not only that, but it ensures people remember and

Throughout the course of my first semester in the pre pharmacy program, I participated in a class
called Introduction to the Pharmacy Profession. The purpose of the class was to establish general
knowledge about the job of pharmacists and to assist the students with their future plans. The class
introduced many guest speakers who have jobs in all different areas of pharmacy. Before listening to
each speaker in class, the students were asked to write three questions about each specific job based
on the required reading from the APhA Career Pathways Program. The students also participated in
Common Read Events to broaden their knowledge about diversity. After completing the APhA
Career Pathway exercises, I received a total of ten careers that matched my responses. Five of the
pharmacy careers were based off my answers to the forty five questions in the program exercises.
These careers include outpatient health system pharmacy, ambulatory care, mail service pharmacy,
home health care pharmacy, and community health center. The other five pharmacy careers were
based off the factors that I marked as the most important critical factors to my life. These careers
included clinical specialist, ambulatory care, community health center, office based medication
management, and outpatient health system pharmacy. Outpatient health system pharmacy is a
career that matched both my question responses and my most important critical factors.

The statement racial identity and sexual orientation entrap and define us is limiting in that it
pidgeon holes a great variety of types into simplified categories. This essay will explore racial
identity and sexual orientation and exemplify meaning through the use of Joseph Conrad s Heart of
Darkness and Christos Tsiolkas Loaded. Although they hail from different times and cultures, the
characters Marlow and Ari display similarities in behaviours in as such they put themselves in
perilous situations and surround themselves with untrustworthy associates .
One reason why I do not agree with the statement racial identity and sexual orientation entrap and
define us is an individual s self image and circumstance. For example, Marlow lived in the days of
Imperialism. Instead of seeing themselves as interlopers in a new country the Europeans felt a
sense of entitlement. He does not relate to the stereotype and describes the men he works with as

and nothing more, I suspect. They were conquerors, and for that you only want brute force nothing

Homi Bhaba writes that colonial mimicry is the desire for a reformed, recognizable Other, as a
subject of a difference that is almost the same, but not quite (86). The colonizer wants and needs
the colonized to be similar to himself, but not the same. If the native continues to behave in his
traditional ways, he brings no economic gain to the colonizer. But, if the colonized changes too
much and is found to be exactly the same as the colonizer, the colonizer is left with no argument
for his supremacy. As Bhaba puts it, in order to be effective, mimicry must continually produce its

Swot Analysis Walgreens
Walgreens
When forming Walgreens in 1901, Mr. Charles Rudolph Walgreen had a vision of changing
drugstores from humdrum fronts to actual businesses that imparted value to customers. He had
worked in pharmacies before, and he had a vision of what he wanted. However, even he would not

distributor in the United States and its territories. Its headquarters are still in Chicago, and it has
survived in a pharmaceutical industry that has sometimes proved to be tempestuous. In this paper,
the writer shall look at the industry and how the firm has operated in it. It shall also investigate
Walgreens rivals and present an analysis.
Position in the Industry
The firm brings in over $76 billion dollars in revenue. Those are figures from 2014, and as it
goes global, the figures will rise. It currently has more than 8,217 locations in the country and

in the black for most of its existence. Last year it had profits upwards of $ 1 billion. It was a
slight dip from 2013, but that can be attributed to the growth drive on which the firm embarked. It
did spend quite a lot on rebranding in some locations and resetting its store model.

Taking a Look at Polylactic Acid Polymers
Introduction
Investigations into developing a more sustainable and eco friendly aspect of every day life are
becoming a major priority. Without such investigations or developments in not only the food
packaging sectors, but in many other major industries, this planet along with its inhabitants will
surely succumb to the human lust of consumerism and ultimately the waste that such hunger
produces. The implantation of ecofriendly green packaging options would see a sharp decline in
the amount of waste that is produced each year and give the ability to recycle and to produce
new items from previously used packaging. In this report the team discuss the concept of
biodegradable plastics and their future implementation as green food packaging alternatives to
the current form of non eco friendly plastics that are in existing use. Biodegradability refers to a
composites ability to be degraded by bacteria or other living organisms, plastics such as these can
also be susceptible to water and ultraviolet rays as sources of decomposition with this aspect being
discussed within the chapters of this report. As apart of this report, team members assess the

  • 3. Lake Erie College Essay Running head: SHORT TITLE Title Jazmine Banks Lake Erie College In the United States, the political system is dominated by two parties, democrats and republicans. These organizations promote an idea and policy to win electrons. Over time these two parties ideology switched rolls and changed. This paper will explain how they differ and favor one another. It will also explain how they have changed over time. In July of 1854, the Republican Party was formed. This group was created by a group of men who belonged to various splinter parties (PBS.). These founders had opposed slavery, which made many of the republicans were liberal. Japanese Americans were interned for 3 years and lost all of their possessions because of the potential threat they posed of espionage and tyranny. Japanese Americans were put into internment camps out of an act of racism by the U.S. people. Japanese Americans were legal citizens at birth. Under the constitution if they were born in the U.S. than they were by law a legal citizen. They went to programs such as school just like any other person and they were lawfully a citizen. The U.S. took the stuff of the Japanese Americans without the proper warrants, so that makes another reason why it was unconstitutional for the U.S. to take the stuff of the Japanese Americans. Although Japanese Americans rights were violated, people at this time didn t know if they posed a potential threat to the U.S. or not. For all they knew the Japanese Americans could have a secret organization dedicated to helping and coordinating Japanese attacks. The hysteria was there at this time, so it may look like a bad thing now that they got interned but people didn t know what they were or could be doing. Ethnicity is a key feature of this and synonymous with identity, it is the most important factor in the forming of a nation. In analysing identity through language and religion, we will find that it is vital to the stability of the state that there is common linguistic understanding and a respect of religious differences. This will allow us to look at identity, language, centre periphery and religion, before concluding that identity and ethnicity the most important features of nation building. Nation building, from the Treaty of Westphalia up until 1900s, was based upon building bigger nations out of smaller ones. Most simply, a nation is bound together by a sense of belonging and a shared common good. • 25. Antigone Vs Duccio The most important difference between MaestГ and Antigone is the message that each portrays to society. Duccio di Buoninsegna s series of individualized paintings depicting the Virgin Mary display her as a central figure that is respected and possibly worshiped by both men and women. Sophocles play on the other hand displays female oppression through his main character and the lack of dedication to religion by men. I think this is an important differencebecause each work of art exposes the beliefs that each artist conveys about their individualized society. Even though there are many distinctions between Duccio s MaestГ and Sophocles Antigone, I believe that the most important difference is the message that each... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For starters, Antigone was created in 441 BCE Athens, a city state in Ancient Greece, where the only thing more powerful than a man s pride in Athens political system was preserving their egos. During this time, it was evident that the women were firmly wedged underneath the thumb of Athenian men. The playwright s tragedy encompasses this several times through his characters. He writes, As far as she s concerned, we bear no guilt. But she s lost her place living here with us, (Sophocles Excerpt 4). In this quote Antigone s uncle, King Creon ostracizes his niece because she disobeyed his demands when she performed a burial custom for her brother, Polyneices. This quote assists in proving that one of the major messages of Sophocles play is the domination of Athenian men over women. During Sophocles life, Athenian females were not able to attend the plays, defend themselves in court, choose who they would marry, or spend their money freely. This idea was reinforced in his play by showing the harshness of Antigone s treatment by King Creon, exhibiting that females were not equal and certainly did not have the same liberties as men did. • 26. Morality In Kate Chopin s The Awakening Value is a subjective domain. What is insignificant to one is priceless to another. In that subjectivity, one tends to measure value in cost what would you give for this? Some things come cheap, a minute of your day, a dollar of your savings. Others demand more, a piece of your soul, your mortal life altogether. In Kate Chopin s revolutionary final masterpiece, The Awakening, Edna Pontellier is a young married mother of two in luxurious nineteenth century New Orleans. Finding herself walled in by the oppression of patriarchal standards for a woman of means, Edna struggles with her identity and values. She watches as the women around her revel in their roles as wives and mothers, as they play their roles with the ease of ministering angels. Unable, or rather unwilling, to submit to these arbitrary posts, Edna ends her life in a manner as theatrical as it is tragic. She drowns herself in the ocean of the resort her family summers at. In light of Edna s sacrifice, the values of the surrounding characters come to light as well. Leonce, her husband, values obedience and social convention, as does Edna s friend, Madame Ratignolle. She serves as a foil to Edna in her aptitude for domestic pursuits as Edna struggles to even keep the appearance of contentment. Everyone alive lives in some kind of little world of their own. There is the celebrity world, the Disney World, Wally world , lots of different sports worlds, scholastic worlds, and so many others. There is a particular world that some live in, and that is the World of Dance. When you are a part of that world, you literally live and breathe it. Every aspect of the dance culture is wrapped up in that world. To those looking in from the outside it is beautiful, filled with lights, lovely costumes, mesmerizing music, and graceful movements. Perhaps the very first image the general public would see in their mind s eye, upon hearing the word dancer , is that of a darling little five year old girl in a pretty pink tutu and delicate ballet slippers stepping into her local dance studio for the first time. Take someone a little deeper into that thought, and they might see an overly thin, pale sixteen year old young woman, with collarbones and ribs showing working herself almost to death to earn a minor part in a dance chorus. Suggest that someone describe a dancer in the height of their career, and you might hear of a Prima Ballerina with the Moscow Ballet. Ask someone to visualize a dancer in later years, and they might picture an older woman with a greying bun atop her head, leading a class or perhaps helping younger dancer perfect a performance, who is likely ailing ... These are symptoms of a life threatening disease. Many might say that alcoholism is mind state and could simply be dominated with a strong will power, this is not the case. A true alcoholic cannot stop drinking on his own and live a happy and normal life. Alcohol takes control of the mind , the body and the spirit, quitting seems nearly impossible. According to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, (NCADD), this year in the United states it was calculated that around 17.6 Million people drink alcohol in an abusive way. It also mentions that 88,000 deaths are due an excessive use of alcohol and 40% of patients in hospitals are being treated for conditions caused by a heavy drinking lifestyle. • 29. Kingdom of God What exactly is the kingdom of God? How does one recognize the kingdom? Are you in the kingdom of God? So often, people search for the evidence of the kingdom of God rather than simply identifying it. In the present day, the stress is evasively put on works and actions rather than a personal relationship with God. Too many people fall into the trap of participating in as many activities as they can, living to have their good deeds noticed by others; however, the key point is entirely missed. It is the innermost intimate part of a person that divulges the power of an individual s life, not the actions. Jesusmakes this clear in the book of Luke when he states, The kingdom of Godis not coming with things that can be observed; nor will... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This passage contrasts the present and the future magnificence of the kingdom, which is constantly growing. The kingdom of God includes everyone: the poor, the gentiles, the outcast, the oppressed, the women, Samaritans, tax collectors, the sick, and the sinners. Jesus states that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have good news brought to them (Lk. 7:22). If you take this out of the context of which it was written and it may not seem like a very big deal that some of these groups of people would be included in the kingdom of God, but in reality, Jesus caused a lot of controversy through focusing on these neglected and oppressed people. The possession of illnesses and sin created a greater sense of desperation within the people, this allowed more room for grace to abound in their lives and explains the reason why miracles took place in their lives more often than the rich and prestigious upper class. A significant aspect of Jesus teaching was setting people free from sin and giving them dominion over evil (Drane 149). Jesus constantly breaks down social barriers and places heavy emphasis on going against the social boundaries that separate the people. Jesus completely redefines the role of Jewish women, which Luke draws special attention to this throughout his book. In the Bible, women were of little to no value. They were ... Whether it be people or events, there are many factors a group must consider when creating a monument. Monuments are a physical form of a history book; they help re create and remember past events and people. One has to make sure the quotes are correct. One has to make sure the quotes are perceived how they should be. One has to make sure names and other words are correctly spelled. Is the monument even going to have any words on it? All of these contribute to what one must consider when adding words to a monument. Any sort of word would bring back memories of the event. As stated by Lin, words can be used to capture a specific moment in time or a single event or a generalized image to resurrect memories of those lost in a tragic event. This is the goal of any monument at it s purest; to remember an event as it happened. Words can also depict important saying of the past, as it does the Gettysburg Address on the Lincoln Memorial (Savage). This is cause for importance because it prevents those words from being lost or twisted in the pages of history books. Words are of vast importance when building a monument, as they protect the quotes and people of the past from being nothing. Cost, design, and words are only a few factors that should be considered when building a monument. The colonizer wants and needs the colonized to be similar to himself, but not the same. If the native continues to behave in his traditional ways, he brings no economic gain to the colonizer. But, if the colonized changes too much and is found to be exactly the same as the colonizer, the colonizer is left with no argument for his supremacy.
