Perpendicular, Parallel Or Perpendicular Line Analysis
The activity shown on clip number one entails on students trying to identify perpendicular, parallel, or
intersecting lines on a street map. As I circulated from group to group I noticed that Miranda s group
had written down the wrong answer for W 36th and Broadway, she had written down perpendicular
lines, when the right answer was intersecting lines. Since this task is done in group, they collectively
agreed on the answer. During video clip number one at 33:40 I explained, West 36th, so if you cannot
actually see it, you can use your fingers, West 36th and Broadway you move down the street, are they
going to connect at some point? Mirada said, yes. And if they connect are they going to be an
intersecting line or perpendicular line? Miranda

Realism And Pursuit Of National Interests
Realism is an approach to international politics that is based on the importance of power politics and
the pursuit of national interests (Heywood, 2000). According to this school of thought, the
international realm is a moral free ambience in which the state is seen as a rational and uniform player
which finds itself in constant conflict with the other states of the system due to the lack of a
comprehensive world government, i.e. an international anarchy (Oldemeinen, 2010). Realism is
directly contrasting to romanticism or idealism, as it offers a cold and calculating picture of how the
world functions, which is often seen as pessimistic. From an international relations perspective,
realism portrays global politics in a homogeneous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also wrote that the standard of justice depends on the equality of power to compel and that in fact
the strong do what they have the power to do and the weak accept what they have to accept. The
Melians believed that they would have the gods by their side because their position is morally just,
whereas the Athenians opposed with the view that it is the natural order of life for the strong to
dominate the weak. For Thucydides, international relations allow the rich and powerful to do as they
please and force the weak to suffer as they must (Hellenic Resources Network). One of the first
classical realists in this newly established province was Morgenthau, who would have the largest
impact on the field. In his book Politics Among Nations, 1948, Morgenthau produced a report of
political realism that would dominate the study of international relations for decades to come.
According to Morgenthau, realism is concerned with how the world actually is, rather than how it
ought to be; it is an empirical rather than a normative paradigm. In time, the intellectual hegemony of
Morgenthau s classical realism was succeeded by the emergence of neorealism by Kenneth Waltz. In
his book Theory of International Politics, 1979, Waltz sought to develop systematic and scientific
realism, which divided the theory into classical realism and neorealism (Pashakhanlou, 2009). Hans

Rough Patch
While going through a rough patch in my life, I knew that I need to get back to my roots so I decided
to enroll in the agriculture program in high school. After about two weeks I certainly wanted to show
an animal, so I asked my mother if I could, at that point she asked me what I wanted to show. I told
her I wanted to show a pig. Of course she did not want me to show a pig, which she was afraid she
was going to end up having to raise. After begging and pleading, even promising that I would do extra
chores, I won. We started looking at different breeds of pigs. My mother, on the other hand thought all
pigs were pink. I really wanted a Hereford, but we couldn t find any breeders that were even close to
Oklahoma, so I settled for a Hampshire. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So it felt like it was way below freezing outside; it had to be one of the most terrifying days of my life,
and it was a two day show. I passed out twice before eight o clock that morning. As we arrived and I
started to prepare my pen, that s when I saw the show ring for the first time. I just wanted to leave at
that point, but my dad told me that my little sisters were looking up to me to do this, so that they could
do it too. When he told me that I know that I had to just suck it up and go out there and do the best I
could. I went back to my pen and started feeding and watering Lola, then I went to change clothes. It
was time to show so we headed to the ring. They put me and Lola in a small pen right outside the
show ring. I was scared and I knew she was too. The gate opened I went to walk in and she took off
running around like a chicken with its head cut off around the show ring. After a few minutes, which
seemed like an hour or two, I got her back under control. We were sifted as a result of her
shenanigans, but the judge told me what he would fix on her. I also found out that I didn t have all the
things that I need, so I built myself a show

Vasculitis Essay
By Jonas Wilson, Ing. Med.
Vasculitis affecting large arteries
A large vessel essentially refers to the aorta and its largest branches that are directed to the head and
neck and the extremities. The hallmark in terms of pathology with large vessel vasculitides is that
chronic inflammatory lesions are primarily found inside of the walls of vessels and not on the outside.
This is a key distinction that can be used in order to separate large vessel from small vessel
pathologies, which present with inflammation on the outside of the vessel wall in addition to being
found within. The two main large artery vasculitides that will be discussed below are giant cell
arteritis (GCA) and Takayasu disease.
Giant cell arteritis
Also known as temporal arteritis or Horton s arteritis, giant cell arteritis is a fairly common systemic
vasculitide with a higher prevalence in women and peak incidence almost exclusively after the fifth
decade of life. GCA typically has a gradual onset, but an abrupt one is not unheard of. Most of its
clinical manifestations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other arteries such as the postauricular, facial and occipital may also be enlarged, with fairly frequent
claudication (pain induced by movement due to vessel obstruction) of the jaw. Due to the intense
vessel occlusion associated with GCA and the resulting complication of blindness in up to 20% of
patients, the condition is considered a medical emergency. Ocular manifestations also indicate
increased risk for central nervous system complications such as ischemic stroke. Steroid therapy with
calcium and vitamin D supplements is the cornerstone of treatment for GCA. Moreover, in terms of
prognosis, there is no associated increase in mortality of patients that are treated with timely diagnosis

Ethnocentrism And Ethnocentrism In Japan
Ethnocentrism: Ethnic Homogeneity In many ways, Japan has been looked upon as a strangely
homogeneous society for much of its modern history. And for some, it stands as one of the most
homogeneous nation in the world. However, when looking at Japan as a whole, and considering
whether or not it homogeneity is a problem, or just another cultural phenomenon, one must look
towards the root cause of homogeneism in Japan. In Japan s past, it has has been questioned, as well
as assumed, that the growth of Japans homogeneous viewpoint was put forward by the government of
Japan, and was done so by circulating false accusations of its lineage. Which these false stories of
lineage, Japan has grown in its ethnocentric views and ways. Ethnocentrism, or ... Show more content

One example of this happened back in the 1970 s and 1980 s when Japan only accepted a small
number of refugee s from Vietnam and other nations in the southern parts of Asia. Yet at the same time
Japan was bringing in labor for Korea and China before and during World War II. Like stated before,
once Japan felt itself become a weaker force in the world, and its own view of itself suffered,
ethnocentrism strived. Things started to change. Japan let in less cheep labor and less refugees as a
way to preserve its pureness. Another argument made by Japan when asked why they had refused to
bring in refugees at this time is very much the same argument made by Japan s establishment today.
The reason Japan accepts so little refugees and the like is that the mono ethnic Japanese society has no
tradition of accepting outsiders. However, as stated previously, the case before World War II showed
the opposite. To put things into todays perspective, over the last few years, Japan has accepted about
2,560 refugees from around the world, while the United Kingdom has accepted 117,161 refugees as of
2015. Keeping in mind that the UK measures slightly less in square meters than Japan, so the reason
cannot be made that there is no room. Whether or not Japan is accepting refugees from outside of

Defining Macbeth in William Shakespeare s Play Essay
Defining Macbeth in William Shakespeare s Play
The character of Macbeth is a classic example of a Shakespearean tragic hero. There are many factors,
which contribute to the degeneration of Macbeth of which three will be discussed. The three points,
which contribute greatly to Macbeth s degeneration, are the prophecies, which were told to him by the
witches, Lady Macbeth s influence and manipulation of Macbeth s judgment, and finally Macbeth s
long time ambition which drove his desire to be king. Under these influences Macbeth s character
degenerates from a noble, brave, loyal man to violent, murdering, tyrant individual.

When Duncan is asleep, his two chamberlains
Will I with wine and wassail, so convince ,
When in swinish sleep

What cannot you and I perform upon
The unguarded Duncan?
Macbeth is in struggle with his conscience but is goaded by Lady Macbeth to proceed with the murder
when she questions his manhood. Macbeth s image of himself forces him to reply,
I dare do all that may become a man;
Who dares do more, is none
As soon as Macbeth has performed the treasonous deed he immediately regrets his wrongdoing. At
this point of the play the audience can note the change in Macbeth s character. Macbeth s first murder
was a trying experience for him, however after the first murder; killing seemed to be the only solution
to maintain his reign of the people of Scotland. Therefore, it was Lady Macbeth who introduced the
concept of murder to Macbeth as the shortest way to obtain the crown that was prophesied by the
witches.
Macbeth s ambition also influenced his journey form hero to villain. However, Macbeth s ambition
had not been strong enough for him to kill the King. He declares,
I have no spur

If the medication to render the patient s unconsciousness fails, awareness occurs. The patients may
feel pain, while the pain and sleep medication fail the paralytic agent doesn t, making it impossible for
the patient to communicate this dire situation to the surgeon/anesthesiologist. This awareness occurs
infrequently, and the timespan and the harshness vary. Patients may or may not feel pain. Some just
feel lots of pressure. It is estimated that 1 2 in every 1000 general anesthesia patients experience some
level of awareness. Common cause of anesthesia awareness is insufficient anesthesia and equipment
failure of misuse. Using a deep anesthetic during high risk emergency surgeries may not be in the best
interest of the patient. In these situations, awareness might not be completely avoidable. There are
stages of Awareness. Gradual suppression of cognitive function. The 4 stages of awareness during
general anesthesia are conscious awareness with explicit memory, with this it may or may not be
associated with pain but includes a state of helplessness. Some patients can go on to develop severe
unexplained psychiatric disorder. Consciousness without memory and, subconscious awareness

Singapore Education System or Sports Program
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Singapore is known internationally for its strong education system. It has been described as world
leading . The nation s many successes are found in the competitive edge of its people and governance
but never in the area of sports. Since its independence in 1965, education and sports have been
instrumental in the nation building process. This approach is likely a deliberate attempt to build a
national culture and identity in a multi cultural society. Sports and education provides a unifying
ground and equality of opportunities for citizens to strive for a better future as well as to bond with a
common interest. Sports as a social unification instrument have been ironically criticized for the
nation s inability to produce high performing athletes. To expedite the nation s sporting success, the
Foreign Sports Talent (FST) scheme was introduced and frequently reviewed (The Straits Time, 2003,
Committee of supply 2011, Foo, 2013). The implication of this scheme infiltrated into the school s
sporting scene that was replicated in school s offering sport scholarships to foreign students even
though their academic grades are not comparable to meet Singapore education standards. It is evident
that citizens are not supportive of the scheme and the desire of Singaporeans is to develop home
grown talents.
As part of the economic development strategy, sports profile in Singapore was given renewed
attention when the country won the right to host the inaugural Youth

Logical Data Model
Part 2: Logical Data Model and its DBMS Products:
2.1 Logical Data Model:
A logical data model is a data model for a particular problem are presented related to a specific data
management technology. Without being specific to a particular DBMS product, it describes the data as
much as details (Watt and Eng 2014). As we mentioned before, there is another type of DBMS
involved in the logical data model such as hierarchical data model and network data model, which will
be discussed in the following.
2.2 Hierarchical data models and its products:

2.3 Network data models and its products:
Network DBMS is a database that describes a flexible way of presentation in forms of objects and
their relationships, which was created by Charles Bachman and improved into standard form in
1961(Watt and Eng 2014).
The Frist product based on network data model is Raima Database Manager (RDM). RDM is an
embedded database management system that can be used in embedded systems. It was created by
Raima Company in 1984 and it was one of the first microcomputer network model database
management, which is provided for C language applications (RAIMA 2017). The most recent
functions involve database mirroring use to support highly available (HA) systems, database
replication, multi version concurrency with read only transactions and etc. (RAIMA 2017). RDM
Server includes the following functional features. First, it is a kind of transaction file server that
supports the processing and managing of database files on a given medium (RAIMA 2017), which can
also be considered as a database controller. Second, its database unions provide a consistent view of
various identically structured databases(RAIMA 2017), which providing a single appearance of the
large database. This could increase the processing capacity. Another feature could be introduced is
encryption (RAIMA 2017). RDM requires all data to be encrypted before it is transferred through a
network and enter the database files, which ensure the security of the

Why Is The Death Penalty Right Or Wrong
Look into the mirror and know, you could be next. A criminal could walk through your door at any
moment, and do God awful things to you. The death penalty is our greatest form of fear; it might scare
a criminal not to viciously commit murder. Only 31 states have the death penalty, although all states
should have it (ProCon). Why should a killer be allowed to sit in prison, living, while their victims are
dead? On this issue, people who oppose the death penalty say that the death penalty is inhumane
(Zakeri). Although I understand their point of view, this is ultimately a question of right or wrong.
Religion, financial strain on taxpayers, and victim s rights, are just a few of the reasons that capital
punishment should be supported. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is unconditionally true. Furthermore, if a man meticulously plans out a murder, commits it, then
he should be put to death. Capital Punishment is used to put cold blooded psychopaths away, and to
have their lives taken away. Taxpayers on average pay about $90,000 more per year for each prisoner
on death row (Death Penalty Information Center). Kansas legislators found that death penalty cases
cost citizens about $1.26 million per case (Amnesty International). In Maryland, the average cost of a
case is $3 million (Death Penalty Information Center). However some people argue that it is alright
for us to pay taxes on murderers, they are clearly wrong; I protest that we should not pay taxes on
killers, because our money could go to better things such as, schools. highways, and medicine
(Feingold). Although some people comment that life in prison is a more severe punishment than being
put to death, I beg to differ, because of the fact that killers are still living, and their victims are not
(ProCon). It is funny how people on death row live a life of leisure, even though they slayed a human
being. Danny Hembree Jr., killed 17 year old Heather Catterion, wrote a letter to the Gaston Gazelein
Newspaper, in North Carolina, gloating about his life in luxury on death row. He said that he watches
television in the air conditioning, takes naps at will, eats three hot meals a day, and reads whenever he

Implied Repealand Essay
The first issue of constitutional propriety that arises in this problem is whether the Scottish
Government has the authority to block the UK Parliament from re reserving powers returned to the
UK after leaving the EU. The matters that are currently reserved by the UK parliament are laid out in
Schedule 5 of the Scotland act 1998 and include: defence, immigration, foreign policy and many
more. The process of leaving the EU, through the triggering of Article 50, and the subsequent Great
Repeal Bill would result in the immediate repeal of the European Communities Act 1972 thus ending
the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice in Britain.
The 1972 act was signed into law to allow the UK to join the European Economic Community, which

This would be the case unless the UK parliament expressly repealed, or amended schedule 5 of the
Scotland Act 1998 to reserve more powers.
If the UK parliament were to repeal the Scotland act in order to re reserve powers, it would have to do
so explicitly because the Scotland Act is a constitutional piece of legislation. In BH v The Lord
Advocate, Lord Hope said in his judgement that the Scotland Act can only be expressly repealed; it
cannot be impliedly repealed; that is because of its fundamental constitutional nature .
The notion of constitutional legislation requiring explicit repeal and not simply being repealable
through the constitutional doctrine of implied repeal was first discussed in R v Thoburn. The doctrine
of implied repeal means that, where two pieces of primary legislation appear to be in conflict, the
more recent legislation impliedly repeals the earlier one. However, in R v Thoburn, Lord Justice Laws
surmised that there are some pieces of legislation so fundamentally important to the UK constitution
that they cannot be impliedly repealed. Laws included both the Scotland Act 1998 and the European
Communities Act 1972 on his list of constitutional statutes. He deemed that if acts such as these were
to be repealed, then they should be done so expressly. This hierarchical view of parliamentary acts,

Steel During The Second Industrial Revolution
The second Industrial Revolution was an era that created many inventions off of the first Industrial
Revolution, which included refining techniques to chemicals, electricity, transportation, and
production engineering to name a few. One of the most highly technological innovations of the second
Industrial Revolution, however, was the innovation of steel. Steel was used before the second
Industrial Revolution, but was mainly used to make swords and weapons by blacksmiths. Before the
second Industrial Revolution Henry Bessemer writes in his autobiography, At that date there was no
steel suitable for structural purposes . At the time, anything structural, including railways, buildings,

Moving-Average Temperature Equations
It is difficult to apply any meaning to this variability from the moving average temperature but
someone could make reasonable assumptions about why this difference in variability exists. One such
assumption could be because you cannot give the entire globe a single temperature. It is, naturally, an
aggregation of many localized temperatures, which must be averaged or at least used to calculate a
median to negate the effect of outliers. The aggregated global calculation inherently smooths out the
impacts of localized variances on the variability of the overall global value. Observation summary:

certain that the regression model represented by the trend line better fits the global temperature data
than the model for the Seattle temperature data. This matches the observation we can see in the graph
of greater dips and rises in the line representing the data set. It is reasonable to assume that, with more
data, we may be more likely to see a change in the direction of the trend line for Seattle (at only 68%
fit) than we would for the global trend line. This may affect data trends regarding how Seattle warms
in relation to the rest of the globe. Observation Summary: We should continue to collect data over
time in order to see if a better fit emerges and the trend line changes. Aggregated Interpretation of

The Internet Service Providers Are Not Allowed...
The whole idea of net neutrality is that it allows Americans to be able to access everything. It doesn t
matter the source; internet services providers are not allowed discriminate against specific websites.
The problem that Americans wanted to address was that companies were doing . They specifically
wanted to address how companies were hindering with the websites they could access and what
cannot . Americans did notice and turned to the federal government specifically the Federal
Communications Commission to step in (The FCC is an independent government agency) and resolve
this national issue. They asked the FCC to codify the presumption of network neutrality into actual
regulations to prevent the Internet Service Providers from engaging in preferential or discriminatory
treatment for financial gain or just because they felt like it (Public Knowledge). In other words,
Americans wanted to stop ISP s to stop hindering with the content they access for financial gain , they
needed a gatekeeper to prevent ISP s from doing this and in so the FCC created the Open Internet
Order in 2010. In fact, the FCC enacted the Open Internet Order in 2010 to prevent large
telecommunications firms like Verizon and Comcast from stifling competition and innovation online (
Public Knowledge). If there were no neutrality rules, Internet Service Providers can prevent users
from seeing certain websites just by slowing the speed for services like Netflix and Hulu and even

The brain is a mass of soft, spongy, pinkish gray nerve tissue that is estimated to weigh about 2.65
pounds or 1.2 kg in an adult human being. (Farlex, 2018) Billions of nerve cells are what the brain is
made of, each being intricately connected to one another. The connection to the body is by way of the
spinal cord which is also a part of the central nervous system. The brain comprises the nerve centers,
which control many involuntary functions, such as circulation, temperature regulation, and respiration,

Abstract:
Absences of public spaces affect people except who jump from 5 stars hotels to 5 stars resorts.
Unfortunately, the majority of Lebanon s beaches are being transferred from public to private.
Because this privatization influenced low and medium income people, activists acted toward it so
government took measures but institutions barely amend it.
This paper will tackle how the public opinion affects, shapes, and provides solutions.

Cultures and climates differs all over the world, but people are the same. They will gather in public if

Beaches are public spaces that gathered people to swim, splash the waves, watch, and surf. It is the
place where individuals from all social status meet, while it is being privatized for economic purpose.
Unfortunately, the majority cannot even afford the entrance fees, while public beaches became
countable and away from the city. So how public opinion is dealing with privatizing public beaches?

Graham Greene s The Human Factor and Kazuo Ishiguro s The...
The twentieth century is the century with the greatest loss of human life in the history of civilization.
It was a time of mistrust and espionage. To be loyal is defined as faithful to one s oath, commitments,
or obligations (OED). Some loyalties are bought, while others are earned. Earned loyalty tends to last
while loyalty that is bought tends to fade. Two books, The Human Factor by Graham Greene and The
Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro show this difference. While both characters demonstrate
external loyalty, Stevens loyalty was purchased, and Castle s was earned. Castle s genuine loyalty
allows him to risk his life, while Stevens loyalty is only compliance. Stevens, in The Remains of the
Day, lives only to serve. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He uses fullfilled , even though he is not really doing anything to accomplish the tasks. He sees this
man as everything that matters. Even after doing all he can in service he still believes that will not be
enough. He has to live through someone else. However, there is a deeper reason why he gives such
allegiance: his loyalties must be deeper. Stevens true loyalty is to the idea of being a butler. He spends
much of his life debating with himself about what makes a great butler. He has dedicated his life
heavily to that idea. He does everything in his power to achieve being an ideal butler. These ideals are
rooted so deep in his brain, there is no way around it. It is as if he has built a dam in his mind, and all
emotions are kept out. Occasionally, some cracks in the wall let hints of emotion leak through, but
they are always quickly plugged back up. This dam is so efficient, that he does not even realize it is

butler has become his identity. He believes, It is important that one be attired at such times in a

The Importance Of Belissa s Speech To Transcending
Fear is inevitable , I have to accept that, but I cannot allow it to paralyze me . How should you conquer
fear? You should conquer fear by facing it face straight on. For example , entering into high school as
a freshman was the greatest fear because of the new system, new school, new people, and new
teachers. Then, how I faced it , was by just simply talking and asking questions and getting put under
pressure because later you would feel happy and very comfortable about yourself. Conquering fear
leads you to transform or to transcend. You might be wondering what is transforming or transcending?
Well , transforming is a major change in the person or something about the person appearance . Then,
transcending is to pass beyond the limits ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Examples Of Prejudice In A Passage To India
A Passage to India: Race, Inequlity and Suppression
A rape trial unveils more than an ethic issue, but an ethnic opposition. In A Passage to India, the rape
trial of Adela Quest to Dr. Aziz aggravates the opposition between the British and Indians, at the same
time, crystalising how nationalism as well as colonialism thoroughly lead everyone in India to be
powerless. Under the colonial system, no room is for individuality or individualism with everyone
struggling for defining themselves, not by the complexity and diversity of personalities and mindsets,
but a collective identity of being either British or Indian. In other words, in colonized India,
individuality is highly suppressed by the prejudiced stereotypes and social norms caused by the ...

Examples Of Light In Macbeth
In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, light and dark imagery is used throughout the story in
order to show the difference and symbolism between good and evil. Light represents innocence, truth
and purity while darkness is used to represent cruelty, guilt and corruption. Towards the end of the
play, Shakespeare correlates the ideas of both lightness and darkness to portray life and death.
Ultimately, they represent good and evil. Shakespeare uses these two themes to drive the plot and
story forward in order to create conflict, twists and symbolism. In the first act of Macbeth, Malcolm is
given the title as King Duncan s successor meaning he is next in line to the throne. The imagery of
light is first used to portray the bravery and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using a candles flame as a representation of life and light. When Macbeth discovers the news about
the death of his wide, Lady Macbeth, he comes to realize that life itself is meaningless and pointless as
it does not last for a long time and can be easily blown out, referring back to the candle and its
vulnerability and fragility. And all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death. Out, out,
brief candle! Life s but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by and idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing (Act
5 sc 5). Finally, the final use of imagery related to the theme of darkness and light is seen when
Macbeth begin his soliloquy by comparing his life to a lighted candle. The flame of the candle is a
metaphor for short life or sudden death and it demonstrates how our reality is nothing but emptiness
and darkness. Our very existence is merely just a brief moment of light and life, the flame of a candle.
We are surrounded by darkness before birth as well as after death. We believe that our desires and
ambition has great meaning, but once that candle is blown out, our aspirations are meaningless. This is
what Macbeth is referring to in the quote, telling us that he wishes that his flame burns out as well;
losing all interest in everything he aspired to be and earn.

Defender Of The Faith By Philip Roth
Defender of faith, is a complex, capably envisioned story depicting a contention of loyalties and
portraying the trouble of being a better than average and impartial individual in a world assail with
contradicting needs. In the short story Defender of the faith by Philip Roth, we are confronted with
several different conflicts: man vs. himself, as Sergeant Marx is struggling to decide whether he
should be a military man, or a Jewish man; man versus man, with Grossbart continually difficult
power and osmosis into the military; and man versus society, as Sergeant Marx is stressed over how
his choices will be gotten in the military group. These contentions all lead to a general topic. The
general subject being, that in life, on occasion, individuals may come in struggle with other people
who like to endeavor certain things or circumstances further bolstering their own good fortune. It
might be difficult to choose how to manage these circumstances, particularly in the event that you
wind up in a circumstance including a situation.
I believe Roth treats religion as a very serious and delicate subject. Roth treats religion as something
that shouldn t be made as something that should define us. Roth is attempting the set out the
establishment that religion is going to have influence yet it s not the principle idea that makes a man, it
s his activities. Roth utilizes Judaism with battle ready belief system to show how individuals living

The Gross Clinic Painting Analysis
In this essay I will be depicting and comparing two of the most well known anatomical paintings of all
time. The first painting is The Gross Clinic by Thomas Eakins an oil painting canvas from 1875 drew
in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The second painting is The Anatomy Lesson by Rembrandt is also an
oil painting canvas but drew in 1632 the Dutch Baroque era. Both paintings depict surgeons at work
dissecting features of dead bodies for experimental studies for groups of fellow surgeons and students.

In this painting the bright red blood colors from the surgeon s fingers and scalpel, and the gruesome
fresh incision is fascinating, as well as repulsive, and confusing since it is so hard to read the detailed
position of the patient s body. Never the less some viewers admired Eakins s precision of detailed
composition, color, and praised his convincing creation space as well as form, although many were
revoked by what was considered inartistic and horribly disgusting realism. Where as in The Anatomy
Lesson it has been pointed out several times that this painting does not actually depict the dissection
taking place in real life. There are many details that point this out. For one in the scene there does not
seem to be a crowd in the anatomy theater as we would normally see in a real depiction. The second
point is that in all of Amsterdam anatomy lessons there is an abundance of the lack of instruments for
the dissection taken place, also there is an absence of the preparator who has the task of preparing the
body for the lesson that will be taking place. This was considered to be a low end and bloody task,
which Dr. Tulp would not be expected to take care of. Finally the dissection itself is very unrealistic in
which this is before any available preservation methods for the dead, the abdomen, which were most

Madrid, where he spent the remaining time of his life there and served Queen Maria Barbara. He
composed his 555 well known keyboard sonatas for the queen during this period of time. These pieces
were mostly written to be played on the harpsichord or the early pianofortes. Although most of the
sonatas were composed in pairs, the D major sonatas, often performed together, formed a rare triptych
of three sonatas. Sonata in D Major, K.491 is the second piece of the triptych, which was composed in
1756 1757. Similar to most of his other sonatas, Sonata in D major is in the binary form (AB AB). The

The Rural Women of India
An ideal society functions according to a system whereby individuals both contribute to and benefit
from economic and social developments in society. The well being of a social group is largely
dependent on its economic position in society, which in turn is determined by the group s financial
condition, its educational and employment opportunities, and by the legal rights afforded to it. The
group under discussion here, rural women, has been disadvantaged in terms of privilege and
opportunities, but has nevertheless contributed considerably to economic growth and social
development in India. An example of rural success is the story of Humsana. Humsana is a Dalit

avenues of help, and the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, entitles women to receive free legal
services. Also literacy rates and education enrolment rates are both increasing, albeit slowly. The
Committee of Unemployment identifies rural women as one of the social groups most vulnerable to
unemployment and underemployment. The decline of cottage industries from the Industrial
Revolution in the 18th century onwards has resulted in the large scale unemployment of various
artisans whose skills have now become obsolete. The Green Revolution and subsequent technological
changes have further disadvantaged rural, female workers who have limited access to training
opportunities. The societal pressures that compel women to reside with their husbands or fathers has
resulted in a loss of occupational mobility. Unequal division of household responsibilities limit the
time rural women can devote to work. Rural women lack access to capital, as village money lenders
are often exploitive, and are often denied control of finances and ownership of land. Thus, every input
of production a rural woman may utilise, including her own labour or entrepreneurship, is rendered
useless. The

Confederate Army Morality
The Confederate Army Moral over matter? The Civil War was a fight to the death on the principle of
setting another man free. It was a brutal for year battle, Union VS Confederacy, Yankees VS Rebels,
pledging their last measure. The Civil War is one of the most famous wars in the world. Most Civil
War information focuses on the victors, the Union/Yankees. The cause of this war began with the
Compromise of 1850 which tried to maintain political balance between free and slave states in
Congress. However, the election of 1860 was the final straw, causing the separation of the northern
and southern states. The southern states seceded because they feared Abraham Lincoln, now president,
would abolish slavery thus causing the Civil War. The Civil War began in 1861 at Fort Sumter and
ended when General Robert E. Lee surrendered at Appomattox Courthouse in 1865. While the
Confederacy had undeniably talented generals, their well known arrogance may have been the cause
of their demise.

My Position On A Statewide Bathroom Policy
In the endeavor to fully describe my position on this particular issue, it is my wish to begin with a
short introduction to the history of myself. I am a straight, married man with many friends from all
walks of life. These friends happen to include everyone from transgendered persons to straight
persons, atheists to polytheists, and everyone in between. I consider myself open minded, but do not
mistake me for liberal minded, as this term does not represent me.
The line between hate and dislike is a rather thin one to say the least. The policy change debate of
which, if I may say, no one was invited to of the private corporation that is the Target store franchise,
is one that should not, and cannot be remarked upon by anyone in public office. There was an article
last week regarding the possibility of Texas adopting a statewide bathroom policy that would require
people to use the latrine that corresponds to their gender at birth.
Perhaps, you, as I did, see the paradox created by the right. To be sticking their nose in business (a
literal, private, business) where it does not belong by enforcing a state governed rule on bathroom
policy is ludicrous. Are these not the same people who complain about government making rules for
private corporations?
My statement earlier regarding the line between hate and dislike is growing ever more relevant. You
see, one can dislike a policy, but due to the politically ethical obligation that comes with holding
public office, that person

In Buried Child, Sam Shepard shows that secrets are hard to keep. In the play, we meet multiple
characters and we soon see that there are secrets in the family. As the play progresses, the readers find

holding several crops that he says he gathered from the backyard. Dodge, his father, states that there
haven t been crops growing out in the back for over thirty years. Also, in the play, the readers never

This brings up issues when Shelly questions the family members about what is real and about what is
fake and starts getting frustrated. Also, the family does not have a good relationship with each other
because there is no trust established and the secrets that they keep create a hostile environment for the
family and for the visitors. When the family was beating around the bush on the topic of the dead
baby, it made the family more intense and everybody became on edge. Haileys and Dodge s
relationship was not good because of the secrets that they held. Hailey did not want Dodge to talk
about their past and if they did not have those kept secrets, then communicating for them would be a
lot easier. Also, not telling Shelly and Vince about the dead baby caused distrust between the family
members and created an environment where no one trusts each other. If the secrets were let out and

the family would arise. It is hard for the family to communicate when all of them know that there is
something deep that the whole family is hiding. In the end, the play shows that everybody has secrets.

  • 2. Perpendicular, Parallel Or Perpendicular Line Analysis The activity shown on clip number one entails on students trying to identify perpendicular, parallel, or intersecting lines on a street map. As I circulated from group to group I noticed that Miranda s group had written down the wrong answer for W 36th and Broadway, she had written down perpendicular lines, when the right answer was intersecting lines. Since this task is done in group, they collectively agreed on the answer. During video clip number one at 33:40 I explained, West 36th, so if you cannot actually see it, you can use your fingers, West 36th and Broadway you move down the street, are they going to connect at some point? Mirada said, yes. And if they connect are they going to be an intersecting line or perpendicular line? Miranda ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Realism And Pursuit Of National Interests Realism is an approach to international politics that is based on the importance of power politics and the pursuit of national interests (Heywood, 2000). According to this school of thought, the international realm is a moral free ambience in which the state is seen as a rational and uniform player which finds itself in constant conflict with the other states of the system due to the lack of a comprehensive world government, i.e. an international anarchy (Oldemeinen, 2010). Realism is directly contrasting to romanticism or idealism, as it offers a cold and calculating picture of how the world functions, which is often seen as pessimistic. From an international relations perspective, realism portrays global politics in a homogeneous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He also wrote that the standard of justice depends on the equality of power to compel and that in fact the strong do what they have the power to do and the weak accept what they have to accept. The Melians believed that they would have the gods by their side because their position is morally just, whereas the Athenians opposed with the view that it is the natural order of life for the strong to dominate the weak. For Thucydides, international relations allow the rich and powerful to do as they please and force the weak to suffer as they must (Hellenic Resources Network). One of the first classical realists in this newly established province was Morgenthau, who would have the largest impact on the field. In his book Politics Among Nations, 1948, Morgenthau produced a report of political realism that would dominate the study of international relations for decades to come. According to Morgenthau, realism is concerned with how the world actually is, rather than how it ought to be; it is an empirical rather than a normative paradigm. In time, the intellectual hegemony of Morgenthau s classical realism was succeeded by the emergence of neorealism by Kenneth Waltz. In his book Theory of International Politics, 1979, Waltz sought to develop systematic and scientific realism, which divided the theory into classical realism and neorealism (Pashakhanlou, 2009). • 4. Rough Patch While going through a rough patch in my life, I knew that I need to get back to my roots so I decided to enroll in the agriculture program in high school. After about two weeks I certainly wanted to show an animal, so I asked my mother if I could, at that point she asked me what I wanted to show. I told her I wanted to show a pig. Of course she did not want me to show a pig, which she was afraid she was going to end up having to raise. After begging and pleading, even promising that I would do extra chores, I won. We started looking at different breeds of pigs. My mother, on the other hand thought all pigs were pink. I really wanted a Hereford, but we couldn t find any breeders that were even close to Oklahoma, so I settled for a Hampshire. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So it felt like it was way below freezing outside; it had to be one of the most terrifying days of my life, and it was a two day show. I passed out twice before eight o clock that morning. As we arrived and I started to prepare my pen, that s when I saw the show ring for the first time. I just wanted to leave at that point, but my dad told me that my little sisters were looking up to me to do this, so that they could do it too. When he told me that I know that I had to just suck it up and go out there and do the best I could. I went back to my pen and started feeding and watering Lola, then I went to change clothes. It was time to show so we headed to the ring. They put me and Lola in a small pen right outside the show ring. I was scared and I knew she was too. The gate opened I went to walk in and she took off running around like a chicken with its head cut off around the show ring. After a few minutes, which seemed like an hour or two, I got her back under control. We were sifted as a result of her shenanigans, but the judge told me what he would fix on her. I also found out that I didn t have all the things that I need, so I built myself a show ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Vasculitis Essay By Jonas Wilson, Ing. Med. Vasculitis affecting large arteries A large vessel essentially refers to the aorta and its largest branches that are directed to the head and neck and the extremities. The hallmark in terms of pathology with large vessel vasculitides is that chronic inflammatory lesions are primarily found inside of the walls of vessels and not on the outside. This is a key distinction that can be used in order to separate large vessel from small vessel pathologies, which present with inflammation on the outside of the vessel wall in addition to being found within. • 7. Ethnocentrism And Ethnocentrism In Japan Ethnocentrism: Ethnic Homogeneity In many ways, Japan has been looked upon as a strangely homogeneous society for much of its modern history. And for some, it stands as one of the most homogeneous nation in the world. However, when looking at Japan as a whole, and considering whether or not it homogeneity is a problem, or just another cultural phenomenon, one must look towards the root cause of homogeneism in Japan. In Japan s past, it has has been questioned, as well as assumed, that the growth of Japans homogeneous viewpoint was put forward by the government of Japan, and was done so by circulating false accusations of its lineage. One example of this happened back in the 1970 s and 1980 s when Japan only accepted a small number of refugee s from Vietnam and other nations in the southern parts of Asia. Yet at the same time Japan was bringing in labor for Korea and China before and during World War II. Like stated before, once Japan felt itself become a weaker force in the world, and its own view of itself suffered, ethnocentrism strived. Things started to change. Japan let in less cheep labor and less refugees as a way to preserve its pureness. Another argument made by Japan when asked why they had refused to bring in refugees at this time is very much the same argument made by Japan s establishment today. The reason Japan accepts so little refugees and the like is that the mono ethnic Japanese society has no tradition of accepting outsiders. However, as stated previously, the case before World War II showed the opposite. To put things into todays perspective, over the last few years, Japan has accepted about 2,560 refugees from around the world, while the United Kingdom has accepted 117,161 refugees as of 2015. Keeping in mind that the UK measures slightly less in square meters than Japan, so the reason cannot be made that there is no room. There are many factors, which contribute to the degeneration of Macbeth of which three will be discussed. The three points, which contribute greatly to Macbeth s degeneration, are the prophecies, which were told to him by the witches, Lady Macbeth s influence and manipulation of Macbeth s judgment, and finally Macbeth s long time ambition which drove his desire to be king. Under these influences Macbeth s character degenerates from a noble, brave, loyal man to violent, murdering, tyrant individual. The prophecies, told by the witches, were one of the factors, which ... • 11. Singapore Education System or Sports Program EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Singapore is known internationally for its strong education system. It has been described as world leading . The nation s many successes are found in the competitive edge of its people and governance but never in the area of sports. Since its independence in 1965, education and sports have been instrumental in the nation building process. This approach is likely a deliberate attempt to build a national culture and identity in a multi cultural society. Sports and education provides a unifying ground and equality of opportunities for citizens to strive for a better future as well as to bond with a common interest. Sports as a social unification instrument have been ironically criticized for the nation s inability to produce high performing athletes. To expedite the nation s sporting success, the Foreign Sports Talent (FST) scheme was introduced and frequently reviewed (The Straits Time, 2003, Committee of supply 2011, Foo, 2013). The implication of this scheme infiltrated into the school s sporting scene that was replicated in school s offering sport scholarships to foreign students even though their academic grades are not comparable to meet Singapore education standards. It is evident that citizens are not supportive of the scheme and the desire of Singaporeans is to develop home grown talents. The death penalty is our greatest form of fear; it might scare a criminal not to viciously commit murder. Only 31 states have the death penalty, although all states should have it (ProCon). Why should a killer be allowed to sit in prison, living, while their victims are dead? On this issue, people who oppose the death penalty say that the death penalty is inhumane (Zakeri). Kansas legislators found that death penalty cases cost citizens about $1.26 million per case (Amnesty International). This would be the case unless the UK parliament expressly repealed, or amended schedule 5 of the Scotland Act 1998 to reserve more powers. If the UK parliament were to repeal the Scotland act in order to re reserve powers, it would have to do so explicitly because the Scotland Act is a constitutional piece of legislation. In BH v The Lord Advocate, Lord Hope said in his judgement that the Scotland Act can only be expressly repealed; it cannot be impliedly repealed; that is because of its fundamental constitutional nature . The notion of constitutional legislation requiring explicit repeal and not simply being repealable through the constitutional doctrine of implied repeal was first discussed in R v Thoburn. The doctrine of implied repeal means that, where two pieces of primary legislation appear to be in conflict, the more recent legislation impliedly repeals the earlier one. However, in R v Thoburn, Lord Justice Laws surmised that there are some pieces of legislation so fundamentally important to the UK constitution that they cannot be impliedly repealed. Defender Of The Faith By Philip Roth Defender of faith, is a complex, capably envisioned story depicting a contention of loyalties and portraying the trouble of being a better than average and impartial individual in a world assail with contradicting needs. In the short story Defender of the faith by Philip Roth, we are confronted with several different conflicts: man vs. himself, as Sergeant Marx is struggling to decide whether he should be a military man, or a Jewish man; man versus man, with Grossbart continually difficult power and osmosis into the military; and man versus society, as Sergeant Marx is stressed over how his choices will be gotten in the military group. These contentions all lead to a general topic. The general subject being, that in life, on occasion, individuals may come in struggle with other people who like to endeavor certain things or circumstances further bolstering their own good fortune. It might be difficult to choose how to manage these circumstances, particularly in the event that you wind up in a circumstance including a situation. I believe Roth treats religion as a very serious and delicate subject. Roth treats religion as something that shouldn t be made as something that should define us. Roth is attempting the set out the establishment that religion is going to have influence yet it s not the principle idea that makes a man, it s his activities. Roth utilizes Judaism with battle ready belief system to show how individuals living with two strict ways of life together ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Role Of Emotional Disconnection In The Sun Also Rises Monica Milbut Ms. Stonikinis Honors English III 6 March 2015 Emotional Disconnection in The Sun Also Rises The Sun Also Rises is a novel that narrates the life of a group of friends after World War I. It communicates both the physical and emotional tolls that war has on both humans and society. War changes people usually for the worse. In my analysis I will delve into many of the characters pasts with major focus on Lady Brett s. Lady Brett s past acts as a catalyst for her lack of emotional connections in The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway. Jake, unable to have Brett, is infatuated with her to the point where he is ready to to do anything for her in the events that it brings her happiness (188). The first painting is The Gross Clinic by Thomas Eakins an oil painting canvas from 1875 drew in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The second painting is The Anatomy Lesson by Rembrandt is also an oil painting canvas but drew in 1632 the Dutch Baroque era. Both paintings depict surgeons at work dissecting features of dead bodies for experimental studies for groups of fellow surgeons and students. Among some of the most famous paintings of the Dutch Baroque era, The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Tulp was Rembrandt s first large picture and the work where he consolidated his reputation on moving to Amsterdam from Leiden in 1631. In this painting the bright red blood colors from the surgeon s fingers and scalpel, and the gruesome fresh incision is fascinating, as well as repulsive, and confusing since it is so hard to read the detailed position of the patient s body. Never the less some viewers admired Eakins s precision of detailed composition, color, and praised his convincing creation space as well as form, although many were revoked by what was considered inartistic and horribly disgusting realism. Where as in The Anatomy Lesson it has been pointed out several times that this painting does not actually depict the dissection taking place in real life. There are many details that point this out. For one in the scene there does not seem to be a crowd in the anatomy theater as we would normally see in a real depiction. The second point is that in all of Amsterdam anatomy lessons there is an abundance of the lack of instruments for the dissection taken place, also there is an absence of the preparator who has the task of preparing the body for the lesson that will be taking place. This was considered to be a low end and bloody task, which Dr. Tulp would not be expected to take care of. Finally the dissection itself is very unrealistic in which this is before any available preservation methods for the dead, the abdomen, which were most perishable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1733, he moved to Madrid, where he spent the remaining time of his life there and served Queen Maria Barbara. He composed his 555 well known keyboard sonatas for the queen during this period of time. These pieces were mostly written to be played on the harpsichord or the early pianofortes. • 39. The Rural Women of India An ideal society functions according to a system whereby individuals both contribute to and benefit from economic and social developments in society. The well being of a social group is largely dependent on its economic position in society, which in turn is determined by the group s financial condition, its educational and employment opportunities, and by the legal rights afforded to it. The group under discussion here, rural women, has been disadvantaged in terms of privilege and opportunities, but has nevertheless contributed considerably to economic growth and social development in India. Also literacy rates and education enrolment rates are both increasing, albeit slowly. The Committee of Unemployment identifies rural women as one of the social groups most vulnerable to unemployment and underemployment. The decline of cottage industries from the Industrial Revolution in the 18th century onwards has resulted in the large scale unemployment of various artisans whose skills have now become obsolete. The Green Revolution and subsequent technological changes have further disadvantaged rural, female workers who have limited access to training opportunities. The societal pressures that compel women to reside with their husbands or fathers has resulted in a loss of occupational mobility. Unequal division of household responsibilities limit the time rural women can devote to work. Rural women lack access to capital, as village money lenders are often exploitive, and are often denied control of finances and ownership of land. Thus, every input of production a rural woman may utilise, including her own labour or entrepreneurship, is rendered useless. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Confederate Army Morality The Confederate Army Moral over matter? The Civil War was a fight to the death on the principle of setting another man free. It was a brutal for year battle, Union VS Confederacy, Yankees VS Rebels, pledging their last measure. The Civil War is one of the most famous wars in the world. Most Civil War information focuses on the victors, the Union/Yankees. The cause of this war began with the Compromise of 1850 which tried to maintain political balance between free and slave states in Congress. However, the election of 1860 was the final straw, causing the separation of the northern and southern states. The southern states seceded because they feared Abraham Lincoln, now president, would abolish slavery thus causing the Civil War. The Civil War began in 1861 at Fort Sumter and ended when General Robert E. Lee surrendered at Appomattox Courthouse in 1865. While the Confederacy had undeniably talented generals, their well known arrogance may have been the cause of their demise. The Confederate States of America consisted of 11 total Southern states that seceded from the Union, assuming the affairs of a separate government, convinced that their way of life, based on ... • 41. My Position On A Statewide Bathroom Policy In the endeavor to fully describe my position on this particular issue, it is my wish to begin with a short introduction to the history of myself. I am a straight, married man with many friends from all walks of life. These friends happen to include everyone from transgendered persons to straight persons, atheists to polytheists, and everyone in between. I consider myself open minded, but do not mistake me for liberal minded, as this term does not represent me. The line between hate and dislike is a rather thin one to say the least. The policy change debate of which, if I may say, no one was invited to of the private corporation that is the Target store franchise, is one that should not, and cannot be remarked upon by anyone in public office. There was an article last week regarding the possibility of Texas adopting a statewide bathroom policy that would require people to use the latrine that corresponds to their gender at birth. Perhaps, you, as I did, see the paradox created by the right. To be sticking their nose in business (a literal, private, business) where it does not belong by enforcing a state governed rule on bathroom policy is ludicrous. Are these not the same people who complain about government making rules for private corporations? My statement earlier regarding the line between hate and dislike is growing ever more relevant. You see, one can dislike a policy, but due to the politically ethical obligation that comes with holding public office, that person ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When the family was beating around the bush on the topic of the dead baby, it made the family more intense and everybody became on edge. Haileys and Dodge s relationship was not good because of the secrets that they held. Hailey did not want Dodge to talk about their past and if they did not have those kept secrets, then communicating for them would be a lot easier. Also, not telling Shelly and Vince about the dead baby caused distrust between the family members and created an environment where no one trusts each other.
