Why I Am Interested Of Taking The Chromatin, Epigenetics,...
No man s knowledge can go beyond his experience , this statement by John Locke captures the
essence of why I am interested in taking the Chromatin, Epigenetics, and Gene Expression course. I
have always had a lifelong thirst for knowledge. As a child I was always asking questions about why
or how things worked. I would always tinker with things, taking them apart and reassembling them. I
questioned pretty much everything and longed to be able to do experiments and find solutions to
unanswered questions on my own. In high school, I volunteered, participated in athletics, held
leadership roles in several clubs, and also worked part time. Despite my many extracurricular
activities, I never lost my thirst for knowledge and academic success remained my foremost goal. To
challenge myself I enrolled in the most advanced courses available and took classes offered from a
nearby community college, I graduated with both a high school diploma and an Associate s Degree.
Motivated by my life experiences, I began my collegiate career at Virginia Tech (VT) as a biological
sciences major. In short time I decided that I would pursue a dual degree, adding psychology on as
another major. It was at VT that I would get my first opportunities to further my experience alongside
my knowledge. This experience would come in the form of research. As a freshman I worked in the
laboratory of Dr. Karen Brewer. I conducted synthesis, purification and characterization of
organometallics and refined key

Most Dominant Energy System Used In Football
Bradley et al. (2014) states that female footballers cover less high speed running distance than their

Caracal Research Paper
Interesting Facts about the Caracal
There are many people who might know much about the caracal; however there are many interesting
facts to note about this cat. The caracal is also known by the name desert lynx, African lynx, Persian
lynx and Asian lynx; however they are not members of the lynx family, rather they are from the
Felidae family.
The name caracal translates to mean black ear, borrowed from the Turkish language. This is because
the caracal has long hairy tufts on the ears, and it is longer than that of other cats. This makes them
noticeable and so when they go hunting, they will often flatten the ears so as to prevent their prey
from noticing them.
Even though they hunt for prey, interestingly the caracals will also eat plants ... Show more content on

The cubs will stay hidden in a den until they are about one month old and that is when they gradually
start going outside the den.
They are born blind and will stay blind for up to ten days after which their eyes open. They start eating
meat when they are 2 months old and they become sexually mature at 1 year, after this they start
becoming independent and may leave their mother shortly after. Once they leave, they will go away to
establish their own territory, living a solitary lifestyle just like other adult caracals.
Conservation of the caracal
The caracals occur in a widely spread manner across various locations in the world and as such they
are not considered to be threatened and they are therefore taken to be of least concern. The main
threats for the caracal come in the form of habitat loss due to climate change and human activities,
being killed by human beings due to the threat they pose to livestock and being killed by larger cats
and other animals that view them as competition for prey such as lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas.
However, there are areas in which the caracal is protected so as to prevent humans from killing them
at will so as to protect their

Essay about A Review of the Opening Sequence of Pretty Woman
A Review of the Opening Sequence of Pretty Woman
Pretty Woman is a romantic comedy, which is based on the stories of Cinderella, the Prince and the
Pauper and My fair lady. The film was produced in 1990 and directed by Garry Marshall. It is set in
the Hollywood hills and the rough Hollywood Boulevard. Richard Gere and Julia Roberts play the two
main characters, Vivien Ward and Edward Lewis. Edward is a wealthy man who is respected and
admired by others. Whereas Vivien is a lot poorer. Her only way of earning money is by her job as a
prostitute in Hollywood Boulevard.
In the film the music is very important. At the beginning it is set at a party. It is Edward s party so it is
very posh and classy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are also wearing lots of expensive jewellery like gold necklaces, bracelets, rings etc. Just by
looking at the people at the party you can tell straight away that they have lots of money and can
afford to buy expensive clothes and jewellery for parties.
When you first see Edward he is upstairs in his office away from the party. The walls in his office are
just plain white with not a lot of decoration and he is wearing a plain grey suit which is quite dull and
lifeless this is a signifier that he is a businessman and that he doesn t like to wear bright colourful
clothes and that he prefers to stay wearing neutral colours.
In contrast the first time we see Vivien we can see straight away that she lives a completely different
lifestyle to Edward. The first part we see of her that we see is her underwear when she is just waking
up. We don t see her face until the next shot of her when she is getting out of bed. When she gets up
she puts on some jewellery but it looks very cheap and tacky, this contrasts which the type of
jewellery the people at Edward s party were wearing. Once Vivien is out of bed we see what sort of
clothes she wears at night when she is out on the Hollywood Boulevard. She puts on an all in one
outfit which is a white top which is very short and very tight on her. It is attached to

The Downside Of Downsizing Analysis
According to the article, The Downside of Downsizing, Caela Farren, points out that companies no
longer have loyalty to their workers; therefore, it is no surprise that workers no longer look to remain
in jobs long term. Farren also believes that companies need to look beyond the bottom line and see
that it is the human factor that makes the company successful (Farren, 2008). Receiving notice that
your position will be impacted by a reduction in force, downsizing, or outsourcing, regardless of what
it is called, it has the same effect and that is a loss of employment and security. Reports of job loss in
2015 indicate that close to180,000 people have been eliminated by mass layoffs from large companies.
The news reports that there are more cuts still to come before year end. What is causing all these
people to lose their jobs? Bankruptcies, restructuring, divestitures to focus on mainstay products, and
reduction in federal budgets have all been listed as reasons for the job losses (Zillman, 2015). ... Show

Wildlife Protection And Commercial Interests
Introduction
Throughout history, the battle between conserving the wildlife around us and the need for commercial
interests has led to many arguments. Wildlife protection refers to the practice of wild plant and animal
species and their habitats. A commercial interest encompasses a company with the purpose of
expanding or producing goods or services that are to be consumed by customers. When the road to
expansion first started, most people did not worry about cutting down a tree to build a home or
railroad. Now, however, the argument over what is moral and what is necessary has led to the question
of whether or not a wild animal should be protected or their habitat cut down in order to make more
room for housing or oil pipelines or other man made things. In this paper, I will be presenting
alternative positions on the topic of the differing priorities of wildlife protection and commercial
interests.
Perspective 1: Pro Wildlife Protection A conservationist is someone who advocates or acts for the
protection and preservation of the environment and wildlife. This particular group of people would
argue that protecting the existing wildlife is more important than other commercial interests.
To begin, conservationists would argue that wildlife has already deteriorated so much and so people
must conserve natural habitats for future generations of both people and animals to enjoy. For
example, there are 41,415 species currently on the International Union Conservation of Nature s

Michael Hiltzik, a Las Vegas Times columnist, is a slap in the face, capital oriented, theme based
writer that shares many of the same views that I do, politically, economically, socially, and most
importantly, entertainmentwise. My favorite part is always the second paragraph, which is generally a
flat out slice of facts with a side of some cold, hard truth that hits people like windshield wipers hit

that have to do with the latest movie or the current sports teams and still manages to tie them into how
they fluctuate the stock market. The stock market has always been an interest of mine since my

Kesha s Song Praying
I chose the song Praying by Kesha for chapter twelve. In 2014, Kesha signed an exclusive contract
with Dr. Luke. By 2014, Kesha began a lawsuit against Dr. Luke for having an unlawful contract. Dr.
Luke s contract enabled him to control every aspect of her life. The lawsuit claimed that Dr. Luke
verbally, physically, sexually, and emotionally abused her to the point where she almost lost her life.
In 2017, after being freed from the contract, Kesha released Praying to express the impact Dr. Luke
had on her. I am relating this song to the misuses of power and influence found in chapter twelve.
Chapter twelve specifically contains information about sexual harassment and different types of
bullying. Kesha s song, Praying, expresses abuse

Mao Effects
In order to fully understand the effects of Mao in power, we must first understand those in power
before him. Before Mao and his Chinese revolution to the end of the Chinese civil war in 1949, China
s leading party was the Chinese Nationalist Party (also known as KMT). In 1912, Yuan Shikai became
president of the KMT and soon began to ignore the parliament and make his own decisions. This,
inadvertently, started the degradation of the KMT and the result was widespread corruption. This
resulted in exploitation of the working class (around 90% of the population), and prioritised the
middle and higher class, completely disregarding the welfare of the workers and peasants who
powered the nation. Poor management in rural areas and heavy tax resulted ... Show more content on

During Mao s time, this right was almost none existent as many different types of propaganda
circulated mainstream media as shown in Source 8, a poster with the caption chairman Mao gives us
happy lives . This implies that a family cannot be happy without the chairman and how could they
possibly have been happy from before their time. The photograph shows a happy nuclear family but
the main point is the large portrait of Mao himself which is the size of the mother s torso. This is also
further depicted in source 12 which states in 1984, the Chinese government instructed publishers not
to produce any more works on the Cultural Revolution. The Cultural Revolution was the largest
blunder a political party could make as it paralyzed China politically and significantly affected the
country economically and also resulted in the death of millions, because Mao had forced uneducated
farmers to produce steel and there was little to no focus on agriculture. This shows the CPC in a harsh
light. It has all but been removed from the memories of those who were there in person. This removes
the people s right to be able to have access to any information. And in 2006, Chinese schools would
not focus on the negative aspects of the country s past . This illustrates no change in thirty

Partly because of their size, MNCs tend to dominate the sectors in which they specialize. As a result,

many arguments have been proposed on this subject alone ( ). This paper will be used to illustrate the
opportunities created by MNCs for less developed countries. A historical account will be presented

Racing Is Not Just Driving Essay
Racing is not just Driving
Driving in circles is often one of the first things that comes to mind when someone hears race car
driver. However, driving in circles is nowhere near a complete explanation of what a race car driver
can do. Most people know race car drivers drive with the purpose of going fast. That their goal when
driving a race car is to get from point A to point B as fast as possible. What they don t understand is
why they drive endless loops of a racing circuit to improve previous lap times by milliseconds. Or
how they became the drivers they became, and the difficulty behind becoming a race car driver. This
passion for racing is something that few understand, and race car drivers have difficulty explaining to
others. It s almost as if they are looking into a different boxcar than most people. Often when people
think of a race car driver, they think, Can t anyone drive a car? or Oh driving in circles like NASCAR?
That must be easy. These answers couldn t be farther from the reality, and it s astonishing how
unknown the world of auto racing is to many people. Racing is not just driving per se. Racing is the
art of driving fast with a bunch of other like minded idiots, who all risk their lives for no other reason
other than to beat the next guy. Racing is entirely different from driving on the street in a countless
number of ways.
Throughout this paper a street driver will refer to someone who is not a race car driver, and a race car

The Hippocampus And Its Effects On Patients With Depression
The hippocampus is smaller in patients with depression. The smaller hippocampus is thought to be
diminished because of a persistent exposure to stress hormones, like cortisol, which impacts the
growth of nerve cells. The hippocampus is highly susceptible to stress, perhaps because the protracted
ontogeny or the high amount of glucocorticoid receptors (Uma Rao et al.; 2010). The longer the
patient has depression, or the more episodes of depression the patient experiences, the smaller the
hippocampal volumes become. Stress correlates with the smaller hippocampus, researchers used
twenty nine patients with depression, twenty two patients with severe depression and thirty two
control patients. All patients were around the same age, physically healthy, alcohol and drug free, and
did not have any other kind of mental illness like bi polar disorder, autism, or schizophrenia.
Structural imagery was used to obtain the images of each patients entire brain. Then an image was
aligned with the anterior commissure and posterior commissure as well as the borders of the left and
right hippocampus. From the MRI scans and using a formula the hippocampal volumes were figured.
All of the patients were followed up on, every 6 months for up to five years. The results were

compared to the control subjects. The left hippocampus of the patients was smaller by 4.9% and 4.2%,

Information Gathered About Graphics Programming Essay
Introduction
The topic of this report will contain information gathered about graphics programming. Specifically
using the programming language, C# (pronounced C Sharp). C# is used by many programmers and it
is a modern and simple programming language and a perfect language that develops applications with
graphical capabilities.
Graphics in programming plays an important part in any C# application that is being developed. For
example, if you are developing an Image application, you may want to use Bitmaps, which is a
representation of a picture using pixels on a window. This is only one example of the many
possibilities of using graphics in C#. So I can assume that you will have prior knowledge and
experience of the C# Language as I will be focusing on four specific classes for working with graphics
that include the PictureBox Class, Image Class, Bitmap Class and Graphics Class.
A class can be defined as a blueprint for a type of object. It consists of methods and variables. In .net
windows forms namespace, it already includes a number of classes for developing graphical
applications. One way to access these Graphical capabilities you ll need to use the System.Drawing
namespace, this will give you access to Graphics Device Interface (GDI). GDI is essentially a
Microsoft Windows API that produces and runs graphical components and outputs these components
on to peripherals like your monitor and printers ( Windows GDI, n.d). There is not much theory
involved in C#

Compare And Contrast Two Different Approaches To Cognitive...
Compare and Contrast two different approaches to Cognitive Psychology
This essay will be focused on two different approaches to cognitive psychology: Cognitive
Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience. Cognitive Neuropsychology is concerned with the
patterns of cognitive performance and emphasis on the cognitive effects of brain damaged patients
who suffered lesions, injuries or diseases, providing vest information on normal human cognition.
(Eysenck and Keane 2015, p.5) Whereas cognitive neuroscience involves in depth study of our brain
and behaviours. As the brain contains numerous neurones and is so complicated, the cognitive
neuroscience emphasis on the biological side of the brain and focuses on the lobes that are divided
from the cerebral cortex.
The main similarity of cognitive neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience is that they are both
interested in brain damaged patients and believe that different areas of the brain are highly specialised.
For example, one of the main theoretical assumptions of cognitive neuropsychology states modularity
, which means the modules in the cognitive system function independently, or separately of each other.
(Eysenck and Keane 2015, p.6) In addition, it is also explained that these modules do show domain
specificity , meaning the modules responds only to the specific kinds of stimuli but not the others.
Compare to cognitive neuroscience, it is believed that modules , as well as hubs are associated with

Most of the Black people were enslaved in the south. So in other words civil right leaders were asking

Participant Observation in Anthropology
Participant observation is a method of collecting information and data about a culture and is carried
out by the researcher immersing themselves in the culture they observing. The researcher becomes
known in the community, getting to know and understand the culture in a more intimate and detailed
way than would be possible from any other approach. This is done by observing and participating in
the community s daily activities. The method is so effective because the researcher is able to directly
approach the people in the community in a natural context as opposed to taking the participant out of
their environment. The aim of participant observation is to gain an understanding the subject s life

Schensul, Schensul and LeCompte (1999) offer many reasons for using the participant observation
method in research. These reasons include allowing the researcher to create relationships with
informants and with the community, assisting the researcher in getting a feel for how different aspects
of the community are organised and how they are valued, as well as how those in the community
depend on each other. Observation and immersion in the culture also allows the anthropologist to
become known to the members of the community, and easing facilitation of the research process.
DeWalt and DeWalt (2002) argue that the goal of the participant observation method is to develop a
holistic understanding of the phenomena under study that is as objective and accurate as possible
(DeWalt and DeWalt 2002 p.92). They also believe that the validity of the anthropologists study can
be increased by participant observation, as the direct and inclusive nature of the method helps the
researcher to gain a more in depth understanding of the situation and the people being studied. When
interviews, analyses, questionnaires and other quantitative methods are used in conjunction with
observation, the validity of the study increases as more intimate and accurate information can be
obtained, and hypotheses can be tested. The results from participant observation can be

HVAC technicians got their name because they specialize in the installation and repair of heating,

you simply want a job that you know you will enjoy. One of the upsides of a career in HVAC is that
you can do it without an expensive degree. Many technicians do choose to have some sort of formal
training though, which generally comes in the form of a post secondary degree from a technical or

two years. One of the best factors to look at when choosing a career path is the potential for growth of
the chosen field. The outlook for HVAC is certainly looking up. According to the (BLS), the

The Last Star Character Analysis
Effort Determines the Outcome
Rick Yancey s science fiction novel, The Last Star, takes place in a modern day society where the
government has become corrupted and is now working against the human race. Most of the people left
after the 5 waves, barely even try to stay alive. They know the odds of surviving is a lot to a little, so
they think what is the point of staying alive a week longer. Although, a group of 6 people try their
hardest and their best to stay alive. These 6 people are probably the only 6 people in their world that is
trying to stay alive. And because they try their best, they end up surviving much longer than other
people. This suggests that a possible theme for Rick Yancey s The Last Star is that however much ...

That gave Cassie the time to set the trap into motion. Because she thought and took in her
surroundings, she was able to escape the silencer and return to Ringer. In the ache of time grinding to
a crawl, the power line falls from the prey s hand in a graceful, sweeping arc. The light sparks off
exposed wires as they descend languidly as snow. The line that gracefully falls slips through the
silencer s fingers. The light glints off the wires as the touch ground, silently, like falling snow (Yancey
298). This shows how Cassie took in her surroundings and came up with a better way to handle her
situation. She knew how once a silencer, you are faster, stronger, and better in every physical way. She
knew she would be beaten if she tried to run, so she decided to eliminate the silencer. This is important
because it helps show another critical example of how the theme fits this story. The theme fits this
scene because Cassie tried her best to create a trap that would work against the silencer, and because
she put so much effort into it, she ended up succeeding and returning to Ringer. This refers back to the
theme, because Cassie did exactly what the theme is. When a problem was handed to her, she tried her
best to solve it, and in return her solution worked.

Essay about Motivation for Work
Work is a positive thing for many people. To some people, it may be described as a place to escape
from the kids, or even a time consumption thing for a single or retired person, but most importantly it
is what we do in order to provide for our families and ourselves. Work is something that we all will
experience at one time or another during our lives. There are several reasons why a person goes to
work. These reasons can be better explained as work motivation . Work motivation can be defined as
the inner forces that make us work and want to work harder to achieve personal or organizational
goals (George Jones, 2005). There are two different types of motivation; intrinsic and extrinsic. When

On the other hand, things like total accomplishment motivate Aberdeen s employees; they thrive on
bettering the work environment, learning new skills and getting to participate in group leadership.
You could say that the main difference between the Aberdeen and Green River plants have mostly to
do with which type of motivational reasoning each have. Aberdeen employees are motivated for
intrinsic reasons. They continue to work hard for the satisfaction of the entire company doing well, as
Green River employees do things for extrinsic reasons. They are only concerned with doing only what
it takes to make more money.
There are several different ways an employer can motivate their employee s: job design goals,
performance appraisal, pay, and career development. Job design is the process of envisioning and
defining specific work systems for a particular job, and deciding what techniques, procedures, and
equipment that it will take to do the job (George Jones, 2005). Job design plays an important role in
enhancing motivational levels in the workplace. It seems that if you can break jobs down individually
and make them simpler to understand do, then people are more apt to do them effectively. With this in
mind, I would like to recommend that Green River s management break their jobs down into steps to
help simplify and make for better production. Developing goals and teams, as well as teaching them to

Remote Access Disadvantages
Remote access has become a common part of many corporate networks, mainly because of the
advance in telecommuting. Many companies have employees who rarely come to the office and work
from home full time. These employees work from home or on the road including at coffee shops,
libraries and various other locations. This means that the users need access to corporate resources
using the internet. According to the book Fundamentals of information systems security by Kim, D.,
Solomon, M. (2018), this remote access management system is tricky because you have to allow
corporate employees access they need across public data network, but keep attackers out of these
potential open doors. Nevertheless, remote access has become very popular in recent years with the
advance of the technology system.
Organizations allow remote access to their internal environment for several reasons. For example,
working from home provides a greater freedom regarding work hours and locations. Most importantly
employees tend to work longer hours from home than from the office (Doyle, 2017). Remote work
forces employees to be more independent and self directed. This means that working from home
increases employee empowerment and makes you more productive because there is less distraction of
the usual office space. There are also benefits to employers. For example, according to Doyle (2017),
telecommuters tend to be happier in their jobs, and are most likely to stay with their company. It also

The Importance Of Football In The World
By the second half of the Nineteenth Century, the first club and sports federation was established (

In order to deal with this issue, as well as stadia were equipped to welcome television broadcasting

outlets in the stands were provided. That was the start of the concept of fan zones (Fig.8), especially
by 1970 s, when the market saw the appearance of the specialized and dedicated sports architecture
practice (Santo, Mildner, 2010), which produced new image of fans facilities with amenities (greater

Changes In The Middle Ages
The Middle Ages
The Middle Ages was a time of prosperity, innovation, and growth of Europe. It lasted between 1000
A.D.E to 1500 A.D.E. Many things were invented that helped revolutionize Europe and some still help
us today. It was the time of new agriculture, the revival of trade, the growth of cities, the rise of
industry and guilds, papal states, new rulers, new religious orders, new architecture, universities,
vernacular literature, and The Black Death.
In the Early Middle Ages, Europe had a small population. In the High Middle Ages, the population
doubled from 38 million to 74 million people. This made the need for food and farms increase
dramatically. Food production increased due to a couple of key factors. One of the factors being ...

They were followed by craftspeople and artisans. In the 1100s and the 1200s, the old Roman cities
came alive with new population and growth. Medieval cities were small compared to ancient or

very large, the biggest cities had around 80,000 people. Most towns were closely tied near the land
because they depended on the food grown near the surrounding manors.
The development of guilds happened. A guild was a group of craftspeople with a certain skill. Guilds
played a big role in the economic life of cities. By the 1200s there was a guild for almost every craft
and separate guilds for specialized groups of merchants, such as dealers in silk, spices, or wool. Craft
guilds directed almost every aspect of the production process. They set the standards for the quality of
the articles produced, specific methods of production to be used, and even fixed the price at which the
finished goods could be sold. Guilds also determined the number of people who could enter a specific
trade and the procedure they must follow to do so.
Since the 5th century, the popes of the Catholic Church had claimed supremacy over the affairs of the
Church. They had also gained control of territories in central Italy that came to be known as the Papal

But if he had visited ten years ago, it might have been closer to 50 cents. As India has become more
productive over the last few decades, wages in the tradable sector (IT) rose, pulling up wages in the
nontradable sector (waiters), and the currency has appreciated. There is a still a major price difference
D.C. and Delhi. One dollar will pay for much less stuff in America than its equivalent in rupees will
buy in India. But as Indian exports continue to grow, one should expect Shyam s lunch to get more
and more expensive.
There is much more to price levels than the Nanny Effect. Much, much, much more. Restrictive urban
policy raises the price of rent in similarly productive cities. Energy policies and levies raise or lower
the price of gas. Tariffs raise the price of imports. On a nation by nation basis, taxes restrain demand
and subsidies increase supply on an idiosyncratic basis.
But perhaps the easiest way to mess with Balassa and Samuelson is for a government to manipulate
foreign exchange rates. China, for example, is famous for pegging its currency to the U.S. dollar to
make its exports more competitive. As a result, services in China are probably cheaper than they
would be if the government weren t actively trying to depreciate the currency. If you re happily

Netball Research Paper
Netball:
At the elite level, netball is a skilled and fast paced game. It requires the use of the anaerobic systems
that are assisted by the aerobic system during recovery aster short bursts of play (AIS Sports Nutrition,
2013). The game consists of seven players on court at any one time, that are limited to a particular
court space, depending on their position. The game consists of four, fifteen minute quarters with three
minute breaks between the first and second quarter, then again between the third and four quarters. A
five minute break occurs at half time.
Nature of the Activity:
Netball is predominately a running sport, with multiple short, explosive sprints incorporated to lose
the defending player and receive the ball from the attacking teammates. However, this solely depends
in the position of the player. As players are limited to particular areas of the court, the activities and
the intensity at which they are performed differ.

However, for repeated high intensity runs and jumps throughout a quarter of netball, in which in
movement lasts longer than 10 seconds, the anaerobic glycolysis pathway energy system would be

periods of Greek art. This three terms are Geometric, Archaic and Classical. The Geometric period

Artists would manipulate the antagonist in a way that was abnormal or unnatural. The optimal
example to use is the scene of Theseus and the Minotaur depicted on an attic vase. The Minotaur was
a being with the head of a bull and the body of a man or known as being part man and part bull.
Because the character of the Minotaur is so outstanding it aids in the telling of the story. The fourth
way to make sure a myth was portrayed correctly was to include an abnormal set of circumstances that
provoked an unforgettable scene. An example of this technique is in a section of the Odyssey. This is
when Odysseus is grasping hold of the under bellow of a ram to escape the cyclops, Polyphemus. This
unusual scene helps this myth become very much unforgettable. The finale artistry that was used was
the clarifications through a mythological series. With this method the artist would need to illustrate
other actions or adventures the character had completed. The clarifications through mythological cycle
can be seen by observing, The deeds of Theseus . This is a large cup that depicts the significant actions
Theseus preformed throughout his

King Henry Viii Influence
King Henry VIII was one of the most infamous monarchs in English History. King Henry VIII gained
legitimacy through the Elitist Theory and the power from his father, he gained power the Coercion
Theory and the killing of his wives, and he retained authority through the Machiavellian Theory and
becoming Protestant. King Henry VIII used the power from his father successfully which led him to
gaining legitimacy. Henry also took advantage of the killing of his wives in order to show power.
Finally, King Henry VIII became Protestant in order to retain authority. The first step in his journey to
retain authority was to gain legitimacy. Legitimacy, the first step of many steps to retaining authority.
As understood by most social scientists, political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And among these forces Machiavelli was one. In history, then, as opposed to history play, Machiavelli
s influence may have been more direct; but, in any event, Machiavellianism is a valid and serviceable
term for describing the harsher political ambience of Henry VIII, especially as it applies, in turn, to
Buckingham, Wolsey, and Henry (McBride 1977). King Henry created the Church of England just to
get an annulment with one of his wives because the Pope of the Catholic Church would not do it
again, so he became his own pope.Henry also became Protestant for the same reason. King Henry kept
getting married for only two reasons, getting a son and gaining a coalition. He went against the
Church for his own self interest... to get an annulment with his wife to just get a new wife whom he
would probably just kill or divorce. Also, King Henry VIII created the Act of Supremacy to gain
authority in which took authority from the Pope of the Church of England, and also made him Supreme
Head of the Church of England. This effectively stripped all of the authority the Pope held in England
and gave it to Henry VIII. Also because of the Act of Supremacy Henry VIII gained a new title:
Supreme Head of the Church of England (Gillaspie 2008). King Henry used the acts, methods, and
theories to retain his

STEM Ambassador Essay
I have been working as a STEM Ambassador for my college for over two years and have had many
opportunities to make a difference within the community and be a role model. I believe it is vital to
expose science to children early on, so they can grow up being interested in science and postulate
about how they came make a difference in the world. Growing up, I never had exposure to enough
science coming from a house with no college experience, therefore it wasn t until after I graduated
high school that I realized what I wanted to study. I wish I could go back to high school and take
advantage of opportunities to learn more about science, which has made me want to give back to the
community by hosting opportunities for students. No one had ever

Inevitable Crime In America
It is inevitable crime in America is at an all time high and something needs to be done. I believe the
main thing that can be done to decrease the crime levels in America would be to incorporate
neighborhood watches. Within these neighborhood watches, meeting should be held at least two times
a month with their surrounding neighborhood watch committees. At these local meetings the
community should assign a few individuals to be the community patrol who work with their local
police department. The committee should also help individuals with porch lights, making sure
everyone has a well lit home. If the street lights in the neighborhood aren t working properly, the
committee could work with their city to get the lights fixed. If a neighborhood ... Show more content

The neighborhoods in America make the determining factor as to how someone may turn out. If the
projects, low income, and ghettos in America were clean with well kept streets, buildings that were
actually occupied, and businesses that are actually open for business, this would be an encouragement
to the community. When the communities look horrible it can make a person feel horrible. If your
current surroundings were full of drugs, infestations, alcohol, abuse, and run down buildings, would
you think you would be a college graduate someday? I surely wouldn t. I feel if communities could
work together with the help of the Public Works department, they could have an all hands on deck
week. This would include members of the community as well as the Public Works to clean the streets
first. Then the communities can try to work as one to get the abandoned building either rebuilt, or
refurbished so the community can actually have something it might absolutely need. A nationwide
cleanup would preserve the minds of individuals who are thinking of committing a crime and moving
their attention to making their home a better place. This could be vital to neighborhoods all across
America, not just in the low income or poverty stricken areas, but every neighborhood in America
should implement a clean

American Culture Vs. Other Cultures
Throughout history cultures have come and gone. Cultures from many distinct civilizations and
empires were able to be conceived but yet most became utterly ruined. However certain societies and
cultures were able to thrive for longer periods of times and outlast others. The more sophisticated a
culture was, the greater the influence it had over smaller ones eventually merging together to establish
a strong society; therefore creating a longer lasting culture. How do these cultures develop and
outperform others to survive for long periods of time? Through two factors: how advanced the society
is technologically, socially, economically, and politically and the role of the society in world affairs.
These principles help dictate the how valuable certain cultures are compared to others and ultimately
extend the lifetime of societies and their culture. Since its establishment, the United States has been a
hub for advancement. In Watters article the country has only been around for about 200 years ... Show

It is commonly referred to as the West and has developed into a world superpower in a rather short
amount of time. The U.S. is considered to be a valuable a culture because of how well developed and
advanced it became and its role in the world as a super power. Through technological and societal
advancement, U.S. pharmaceutical corporations were able to discover a new mental issue known as
depression and treat it with certain prescription pills, or SSRIs. The corporations believed that SSRIs
worked with little to no scientific evidence to support the effects of the SSRIs, there is currently no
scientific consensus that depression is linked to serotonin deficiency or that SSRIs restore the brain s
balance (Watters). However, the corporations were correct about how real this mental issue is. Japan s
and the U.S. s perspective of depression

  • 2. Why I Am Interested Of Taking The Chromatin, Epigenetics,... No man s knowledge can go beyond his experience , this statement by John Locke captures the essence of why I am interested in taking the Chromatin, Epigenetics, and Gene Expression course. I have always had a lifelong thirst for knowledge. As a child I was always asking questions about why or how things worked. I would always tinker with things, taking them apart and reassembling them. I questioned pretty much everything and longed to be able to do experiments and find solutions to unanswered questions on my own. In high school, I volunteered, participated in athletics, held leadership roles in several clubs, and also worked part time. Despite my many extracurricular activities, I never lost my thirst for knowledge and academic success remained my foremost goal. To challenge myself I enrolled in the most advanced courses available and took classes offered from a nearby community college, I graduated with both a high school diploma and an Associate s Degree. Motivated by my life experiences, I began my collegiate career at Virginia Tech (VT) as a biological sciences major. In short time I decided that I would pursue a dual degree, adding psychology on as another major. It was at VT that I would get my first opportunities to further my experience alongside my knowledge. This experience would come in the form of research. As a freshman I worked in the laboratory of Dr. Karen Brewer. I conducted synthesis, purification and characterization of organometallics and refined key ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The caracal is also known by the name desert lynx, African lynx, Persian lynx and Asian lynx; however they are not members of the lynx family, rather they are from the Felidae family. The name caracal translates to mean black ear, borrowed from the Turkish language. This is because the caracal has long hairy tufts on the ears, and it is longer than that of other cats. This makes them noticeable and so when they go hunting, they will often flatten the ears so as to prevent their prey from noticing them. The Downside Of Downsizing Analysis According to the article, The Downside of Downsizing, Caela Farren, points out that companies no longer have loyalty to their workers; therefore, it is no surprise that workers no longer look to remain in jobs long term. Farren also believes that companies need to look beyond the bottom line and see that it is the human factor that makes the company successful (Farren, 2008). • 7. Wildlife Protection And Commercial Interests Introduction Throughout history, the battle between conserving the wildlife around us and the need for commercial interests has led to many arguments. Wildlife protection refers to the practice of wild plant and animal species and their habitats. A commercial interest encompasses a company with the purpose of expanding or producing goods or services that are to be consumed by customers. When the road to expansion first started, most people did not worry about cutting down a tree to build a home or railroad. Now, however, the argument over what is moral and what is necessary has led to the question of whether or not a wild animal should be protected or their habitat cut down in order to make more room for housing or oil pipelines or other man made things. In this paper, I will be presenting alternative positions on the topic of the differing priorities of wildlife protection and commercial interests. Perspective 1: Pro Wildlife Protection A conservationist is someone who advocates or acts for the protection and preservation of the environment and wildlife. This particular group of people would argue that protecting the existing wildlife is more important than other commercial interests. To begin, conservationists would argue that wildlife has already deteriorated so much and so people must conserve natural habitats for future generations of both people and animals to enjoy. Specifically using the programming language, C# (pronounced C Sharp). C# is used by many programmers and it is a modern and simple programming language and a perfect language that develops applications with graphical capabilities. Graphics in programming plays an important part in any C# application that is being developed. For example, if you are developing an Image application, you may want to use Bitmaps, which is a representation of a picture using pixels on a window. This is only one example of the many possibilities of using graphics in C#. So I can assume that you will have prior knowledge and experience of the C# Language as I will be focusing on four specific classes for working with graphics that include the PictureBox Class, Image Class, Bitmap Class and Graphics Class. A class can be defined as a blueprint for a type of object. It consists of methods and variables. Schensul, Schensul and LeCompte (1999) offer many reasons for using the participant observation method in research. These reasons include allowing the researcher to create relationships with informants and with the community, assisting the researcher in getting a feel for how different aspects of the community are organised and how they are valued, as well as how those in the community depend on each other. Observation and immersion in the culture also allows the anthropologist to become known to the members of the community, and easing facilitation of the research process. DeWalt and DeWalt (2002) argue that the goal of the participant observation method is to develop a holistic understanding of the phenomena under study that is as objective and accurate as possible (DeWalt and DeWalt 2002 p.92). They also believe that the validity of the anthropologists study can be increased by participant observation, as the direct and inclusive nature of the method helps the researcher to gain a more in depth understanding of the situation and the people being studied. When interviews, analyses, questionnaires and other quantitative methods are used in conjunction with observation, the validity of the study increases as more intimate and accurate information can be obtained, and hypotheses can be tested. The line that gracefully falls slips through the silencer s fingers. The light glints off the wires as the touch ground, silently, like falling snow (Yancey 298). This shows how Cassie took in her surroundings and came up with a better way to handle her situation. She knew how once a silencer, you are faster, stronger, and better in every physical way. She knew she would be beaten if she tried to run, so she decided to eliminate the silencer. This is important because it helps show another critical example of how the theme fits this story. The theme fits this scene because Cassie tried her best to create a trap that would work against the silencer, and because she put so much effort into it, she ended up succeeding and returning to Ringer. This refers back to the theme, because Cassie did exactly what the theme is. When a problem was handed to her, she tried her best to solve it, and in return her solution worked. To some people, it may be described as a place to escape from the kids, or even a time consumption thing for a single or retired person, but most importantly it is what we do in order to provide for our families and ourselves. Work is something that we all will experience at one time or another during our lives. There are several reasons why a person goes to work. These reasons can be better explained as work motivation .
