The poem, God s Grandeur by Gerard Manley Hopkins is an Italian sonnet, which closely follows the traditional
Italian rhyme of ABBAABBA, and then CDCDCD. (Shmoop) There are also several words throughout the poem that
rhyme within themselves. For example God, rod, trod, shod all rhyme. Gerard Hopkins liked to use sprung rhythm in
which the stressed and unstressed syllables have a complicated relationship, and the message desired from the reader
can change the rhythm. (Shmoop) Sprung rhythm allows each person to read the poem differently and take away what
they wish. The speaker of this poem has lost faith in humanity and their treatment of the world God had granted us.
However, in the second half of the poem, the speaker shows his views of the world and its connection to God.
In the first stanza of God s Grandeur, the speaker is amazed at the greatness of God. However, he is dismayed by the
way people treat God s creation. God himself directed humans to care for their world. Genesis 2:15 says, The Lord
God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. (Genesis) Mankind s treatment of
the Earth obviously did not measure up to the standard that the speaker has envisioned. This is clearly visible in lines
four through seven, Why do men then now not reck his rod? Generations have trod, have trod, have trod; and all is
seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil; and wears man s smudge and shares man s smell. (God s) The

Information Administration As A Critical Field Of...
the train of information administration has to learn itself as its center of examination and review, it by the by gives
careful consideration to controls that most straightforwardly and searchingly look at and educate addresses about
information, and its inceptions and nature. This methodological inadequacy is an inquisitive inconsistency that
thwarts the development of learning about information and hampers potential reasonable improvements, and
advancements in learning administration rehearse. By looking to the latest improvements in epistemology, the theory
of science, and related teaches on the quickly moving edge of the psychological sciences, an especially wealthier and
more fascinating picture of learning rises than that which goes as money in contemporary exchange and verbal
confrontation. The methodological assets made accessible by these branches of request along these lines have
suggestions for the rational improvement and expansion of information administration as a critical field of scholarly
and down to earth application. Presentation As indicated by Heaven s Gate adherents, their insight about the unrivaled
outsider race came mainly from the outsiders themselves who appeared as human educators. Be that as it may, once
getting to be human, the outsider educators were stripped of their past recollections and information. All that stayed
for them was a foggy picture of the larger amount, which they attempted to pass on to their human understudies.

Visit To Hawaii
There is always one place someone wants to go visit from hearing about it from a friend or seeing pictures online. The
place I want to visit over any place in the entire world is Hawaii because of all the tropical foods, sunny beaches and
so many activities to do. Such as, hiking to a waterfall and jumping in or going on a tour around the island in a
helicopter.
One reason I want to visit Hawaii is because the beaches look amazing, and the beaches have so many things to do. If
I went I would go to the beaches on the bay first, to practice surfing and play games on the beach. I would play wiffle
ball, ultimate Frisbee and pass a football around, or lacrosse ball. Wiffle ball is a lot of fun because I hit the ball to the
ground a lot, so I dive to get the base. Ultimate frisbee is hard to play on the beach because of the wind, so I dive to
catch almost every throw. After a couple of days I d switch to the ocean side of Hawaii to go body boarding, boogie
boarding, and surfing. Boogie boarding is more fun with bigger waves because I get to ride the wave for a longer
time. Bodyboarding is tough for me to catch a wave, but is amazing once I finally catch one. Surfing is a little tricky
to stand up and is much easier for me to stay up once I get the hang of it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Coconuts are delicious and can be great to eat on the beach because they re drinkable and edible . The coconut is great
as a cup or use it as a decoration in my hotel or house. Pineapples are grown in Hawaii naturally so they are fresh and
would taste amazing. Also, I could put them on a kabob and roast them over a fire and have that a dinner. If I were to
hold a party or get together, pineapples would be great to put on toothpicks and serve them. Or as a target and hit the
pineapple with a lacrosse ball to increase my

Adult Supervision
The concern of whether elementary school age children should require adult supervision, or should be trusted alone
has been discussed. For parents, the task of providing care and attention for their children while juggling their other
responsibilities as parents, has become complex and debate whether it is appropriate to leave children on their own.
Many tend to believe, that young children should be supervised at all times, while others opine that children need their
space. The reality is, elementary school age children require a balance of adult supervision as needed depending on
scenarios, but as well as their time of independence when time permits based on the scenario and a bond of trust.
Adult supervision is possible, if not already, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Supervision of children should be a norm that parents and their adolescents should be accustomed to. Not only does
supervision offer a protective barrier to assure that children are safe, but as well aid in establishing a bond of trust
between adults and kids. Aside from establishing a bond, the supervision of children has statistically proven that cases
of kidnapping and sexual assault committed against children have gone down due to the increase of administration
over children. In scenarios such these, where a child is left at a park on their own with no adult, such as Deborah
Harrell s case of leaving her nine year old daughter alone at a park as she went to work, adult supervision is required.
If any harm was to occur to Harrell s daughter, such as an injury, kidnap attempt, or even sexual assault, the lack of
adult attention would have been the cause as to why a tragedy could have occurred. Despite the fact that ..data
indicates that child abuse reports tend to go down over the summer.. (Belinda Luscombe), it does not suggest that
child abuse cases do not occur. Cooperation

Analysis Of The BookPost Office, By Charles Bukowski
Rain, Sleet, Snow and Booze Post Office, By Charles Bukowski, is the self revelation of Henry Chinaski, the main
character of the book. The narration of working as a post carrier and clerk in Post Office are fascinating but can
sometimes be as unchanging and a bit unexciting as mail sorting. Entering the world as a mail carrier through
Bukowski s alter ego, Henry Chinaski and uncover the eccentricity of his various routes, his fellow workers and the
people he delivers to. Throughout the book Bukowski takes you through life of a postal employee, how he lives life
and the women he meets. Therefore, cultural Studies will describe different human experiences and how it affects
everyday life. Henry Chinaski as a character is crude and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It seems as though Chinaski has died and went to post office hell. The average day at the post office is just full of
mindless tasks while Chinaski battles with elements, the dogs and the people who seem hell bent on making his life
impossible. Bukowski begins to capture the sheer drudgery, the mind numbingly, boring tasks, the petty office
politics, and the endless rules that range from how often Chinaski can use the toilet to where he can place his hat. On
the other hand, scrap any ideas of Chinaski being a victim. When he gets off work, he drinks all night long, and his
normal state of affairs is to begin the day with a hangover. It is hard to feel sorry for Chinaski in spite of the fact that
he hates his job, and this is because our anti hero is always funny and he is not out to please anyone. It never occurs to
Chinaski to worry about what people think of him. It is with woman that he is arguably his most reprehensible. When
the novel begins it says he is with Betty, his shack job, a woman who is absence and goes to work, therefore frees
Chinaski for his opportunistic sexual encounters. Chinaski believes woman are objects no more, no less. They are
mostly describe by their body parts, and to Chinaski, the bigger the better. Eventually Betty, his shack job, says she
has had about as much as she can

Essay On Nick Carraway In The Great Gatsby
In the novel, Nick is portrayed as a careful and considerate individual. He helped get Gatsby and Daisy together,
showing he cares for both of them. Therefore, showing how considerate Nick is. Although, in the movie, Nick is
portrayed in both past and present tense. In present tense, we have a broken Nick Carraway. He admitted himself into
a sanitarium because he is morbidly alcoholic . From that moment on, Nick opens up to his doctor about the moment
he met Gatsby till present day. In flashback scenes, Nick is happy and unconflicted. He also had a sense of innocence.

Next, Jay Gatsby in both novel and movie, is portrayed as a rich, charismatic, popular man with a deep infatuation
with Daisy. Although, in the movie, it seemed as though Gatsby was obsessed with Daisy. For example, constantly
staring at the telephone in his house waiting for Daisy to call him. At the beginning of the movie, it was heartfelt.
Finally, two sweethearts meet again. But Gatsby takes it up a notch or two, to the point where I felt as though he was
obsessed with keeping her so intertwined with his life whether she loved him or not. There s a scene in both the novel
and the movie where Gatsby and Tom are verbally fighting. In the novel, they settle down at the end and go their
separate ways. Although, in the movie, much of the dialogue is the same, but the ending is what surprised me. Gatsby
grabbed Tom by the collar of his shirt, held his fist up as if he were about to punch him, then screamed shut up! in a
childish manner. Thus, leading me to feel as if the novel version of Gatsby was more of a man than the movie version
of Gatsby ever could

Ryan Loftus Not Your Father s Barbershop

but barber shops have steadily remained the same. Ryan talked about how his shop will be different and will appeal to

this idea because of wearing glasses and being uncomfortable while trying to use his pillows. Although the student did
not state why they thought this idea was important he still showed passion about this business. I believe Colby s
business should be funded if the quality of the pillow is as true as he claims. Also, if the business plan is elaborate and
well thought out. Colby s non verbal skills were great throughout his presentation which is why I am giving him a 3

consistent eye contact, and not looking at his notes often. Although he did make many movements and gestures during
this quick presentation most of these movements enhanced his overall presentation. He also made minor mistakes
during the presentation, and when he did make mistakes he did not let it affect his rhythm as it was solid throughout.
My suggestions would be to minimize his movements slightly, and have eye contact throughout the whole
presentation. I am giving Colby a 3 for enthusiasm because he showed interest in his product, but he could have been

Rupert Murdoch s War On Journalism
In the documentary Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch s War On Journalism , Fox News began as a seemingly innocent, right
winged, news channel, with the slogan We Report. You Decide. However, as time moved on from the first airing of
the news channel, it was as if Fox had followed a more biased and corrupted route than what had been proposed. It
primarily discusses how Fox News, and perhaps other popular media news outlets, have begun to actively misinform
their viewers for personal or business gain. Originally, Rupert Murdoch, a news corporation CEO, was deemed as the
overall instructor of what was to be represented on the Fox outlet. However, at the time of his ownership, the news
outlet was said to have had zero news value. Therefore, as Roger Ailes, a former media strategist for several
Republican presidential campaigns, joined, and inevitably took over the channel, Fox News began to evolve into
something called fair and balanced news reporting. Unfortunately, fair and balanced was far from the truth. In fact,
after several examinations performed by both journalists and former Fox News contributors, it was discovered Fox
News had been continuously using sinister tricks, such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Disadvantages Of Robotics
IN THE early 20th century the future seemed bright for horse employment. Within 50 years cars and tractors made
short work of equine livelihoods. Some futurists see a cautionary tale for humanity in the fate of the horse: it was
economically indispensable until it wasn t. The common retort to such concerns is that humans are far more
cognitively adaptable than beasts of burden. Yet as robots grow more nimble, humans look increasingly vulnerable. A
new working paper concludes that, between 1990 and 2007, each industrial robot added per thousand workers reduced
employment in America by nearly six workers. Humanity may not be sent out to pasture, but the parallel with horses
is still uncomfortably close. Robots are just one small part of the technological wave squeezing people. The
International Federation of Robotics defines industrial robots as machines that are automatically controlled and re
programmable; single purpose equipment does not count. The worldwide population of such creatures is below 2m;
America has slightly fewer than two robots per 1,000 workers (Europe has a bit more than two). But their numbers are
growing, as is the range of tasks they can tackle, so findings of robot driven job loss are worth taking seriously. The
paper s authors, Daron Acemoglu of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Pascual Restrepo of Boston
University, are careful to exclude confounding causes as best they can. Their results are not driven by a few robot

Episodic Memory
As teachers, we are here to educate our students in our areas, but how do we know when students actually understand
and learn the information being taught? Marilee Sprenger (1998) said memory is the only way to verify learning .
After researching the parts of the brain and learning how it processes information, her statement is true. Memory is
the process by which we retain the knowledge and skills for the future (Sousa, 2011). According to Sprenger (1998),
there a five separate memory lanes: semantic, episodic, procedural, automatic, and emotional. Semantic memory deals
with words and is the most difficult because you must process it repeatedly for long term effects. Episodic memory is
location driven. The procedural memory is your how to memory. Automatic memory ... Show more content on

Final memory is emotional memory, which connects back to the amygdala where all your emotions lay. Effective
teaching uses strategies to help students recognize patterns and then make the required connections to process the new
working memories so they can travel into the brain s long term storage areas (Willis, 2007). The first strategy I will do
in my classroom is to provide down time in between learning episodes. I teach in block scheduling and I ve come to
realize that students remember best what comes first, then when comes last, but tend to forget everything in the
middle. If I break my block time into four sections, since high school students can handle about 20 minutes in
working memory, I give students time to process the information being taught. The down time would be a brain break.
During the brain breaks students could be

Western Imperialism and Modern East Asia Essay example
Western imperialism in East Asia caused many tribulations for China, Japan, and Korea but also helped them to
become contemporary nations. The East Asian countries were tremendously affected by unequal treaties,
extraterritoriality, and above all, technology. Great Britain encroached upon China their greed for open trade with the
Chinese empire resulting in the deterioration of the Chinese culture, which led to the emergence of a modernized
civilization. Japan was co subjugated by Russia and the United States so that the trade routes of these western
countries could extend into the east, which resulted in the foundation of industrialization in Modern East Asia. Finally,
the spread of western Christianity and influential neighbors, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Chinese traders began exchanging tea and silver to The East India Company for a return of Bengali opium imports.
Consequently, as the opium addicts rose, so did the supply and demand of exports from Great Britain to China. The
ensuing drug trafficking accordingly corrupted many Chinese officials. The opium cartel held by The East India
Company made other British agents unhappy, as they too wanted trading monopolies with China in areas such as
industrialized textiles. By 1834, Great Britain directed Lord Napier to bypass the commerce authority in China, the
Cohong, and negotiate matters of trade with China s governor general who declined any business agreements for the
reason that the Chinese saw no reason to sully their dignity by dealing with barbarians . (pp. 298) Hence, in 1839,
when Imperial Commissioner Lin Zexu arrived in the Chinese trading port of Guangzhou to suppress the opium
transfer, war broke out between Great Britain and China. Commissioner Zexu was successful in eradicating the opium
from the port, yet the Opium War was a defeat for the Chinese and their morality. Queen Victoria of Great Britain
quickly retaliated on China and gained British compensation to their exported commodities and an agreement from
China for the repayment to British peddlers for their destroyed property. Chinese officials were also forced to not only
expand Western trade giving British merchants direct access to the Qing court

Philosophy of Literacy Instruction
Literacy Defined
Literacy embraces reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Integrating all of these into a literacy program is key.
Teachers must provide endless and ongoing opportunities for their student to read, write, listen, and speak.
There are many components that make up literacy. In order to effectively teach students these components the teacher
must model the concept for the students. As teachers, we can t expect or assume that the student already knows what
we expect of them. Modeling gives students a basis of what to go by. Modeling is the first and most important step in
order for the students to gain mastery of a concept. A teacher must also undergo guided practice with the students. A
teacher should always ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For every area of development that I need to address with a student I will make sure that I have at least two positives
to go along with it. This will not bring a child down.
Another important part of my literacy program will be communication with home. I will send home newsletters and
have school meetings where the parents are invited to attend. I will always keep the parents/guardians informed on
everything we are doing in class. I will send home praise notes rather than just negative notes on students.
In my classroom I will have a specific outline as to what a literacy lesson will look like. Each lesson will focus on
reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I will have a set behavior management plan that will be followed at all
times. I will always introduce a lesson by activating prior knowledge, motivating the student, and by stating the
objectives. I will always model for the students what it is that they are expected to do. The students will always
undergo guided practice before they set off on their own to do something. Then when I am sure that the students
understand I will have them independently practice. Once the concept is mastered I will assess each student to be sure
that they can apply what they have learned.
When my students pick up a book they will automatically know what to do. I will teach the students to always predict
before they read. I will have the students look at the title and the picture on the

Examples Of Dishonest In The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby is an exceptional piece of American literature written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, in 1925. It follows the
story of 32 year old Jay Gatsby, from the perspective of newcomer Nick Carraway. He moves to West Egg, and settles
down next to Gatsby, who throws lavish parties for the neighborhood. Eventually, we find out that Gatsby is pining
away for Daisy Buchanan, his love five years previous. He pursues her, but it turns out to be his pitfall. In the end,
Daisy accidentally hits someone, for which Gatsby takes the blame and gets shot while swimming by the husband of
the woman Daisy hit. The tragic ending can be attributed to one person; Jay Gatsby. He was responsible for this
terrible tragedy because he lied about his character, he refused to deal with the present situation, and he ruined Tom
and Daisy s marriage.
Gatsby is responsible for his own regrettable ending because of his dishonesty and deception. He was dishonest about
a lot of things. He lied about his job, his past, and does nothing to dismiss the wild rumors surrounding him. Two of
these include that he was a German spy, and that he killed a man once. When they first met when Gatsby was as a
poor soldier, he was dishonest to Daisy about his wealth as well. She said he acted rich , and he did not correct her.
This leads to the whole misunderstanding and rage at the end of the novel when Jay is exposed by Tom for how he
made his money. If he had been honest about how he came to be rich, then there would

my very hardest to be nice to everybody, but sometimes my temper gets the best of me. We had the best summer this
past year. All four of us basically lived at each other s houses. We were at the pool almost every day, and if we were
not at the pool we were lying in bed watching movies. This was the happiest I had ever been. We were all just
genuinely happy. Towards the end of the summer, Kat, Sam and I were hanging out a lot more and starting to keep our
distance from Jo. Once school started the three of us really started hanging out a lot more and we had our own group
message. We never saw Jo any more because none of us had classes with her. Soon she started to notice and would
just text us things like missing you guys and we need to hang out, I feel like we never talk anymore. Us three would
always give her one word responses and never really show interest. Even though we

Full Cream Milk Lab Report
Full cream milk was used in the experiment as a source of triglyceride lipid. Triglyceride lipids can be hydrolyzed to
form glycerol and fatty acid as shown in the equation below.
Triglyceride + 3 water → glycerol + 3 fatty acid
The enzyme lipase acts as a biological catalyst where it provides an alternative energy pathway for the hydrolysis of
triglycerides. This will lower the energy barrier, the activation energy needed, for this reaction. Hence the reaction
will take place at a higher rate since lesser energy is needed. This hydrolysis reaction occurs in the duodenum which
is an alkaline environment. This makes the optimum pH, which the lipase works most efficiently in. be alkaline as
well. Sodium carbonate solution is used to provide the alkaline environment as it is a relatively strong base. When
sodium carbonate is added to water to form the solution, sodium hydroxide, a base, is formed as shown in the
equation below.
Na2CO3 + H2O → 2NaOH + CO2 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the alimentary canal has a generally hydrophilic medium. This causes the lipid molecules to coalesce into a
very big lipid globule. This globule has a very small surface area to volume ratio and hence the hydrolysis of this
globule would be extremely inefficient even with the presence of lipase. Therefore bile is secreted to emulsify the
globules. Bile is produced by hepatocyte cells and stored in the gall bladder below the liver. Bile is secreted into the
duodenum via the bile duct. Bile molecules have a hydrophilic and a hydrophobic end. This allows them to insert
themselves between lipid molecules and thus prevent them from coalescing1. This forms many small lipid globules
with a high surface area to volume ratio instead of one large molecule with a low ratio, allowing the lipids to be
hydrolyzed more

Polar Bear Is The Largest Land Carnivore
There may be other bears in the arctic, but the polar bear is the largest land carnivore in the Arctic wilderness. The
polar bear may look like any other bear, but they are unique in their own way, such as their characteristics and
behavior . The polar bear, has unique characteristics that make it stand out the most compared to the other bears in its
taxonomic group. The taxonomic group that the polar bear falls under is the Ursidae Group ( Tanya Dewey and Phil
Myers). Breaking it down even further it goes down to genus, the genus of the polar bear is Ursus and it is derived
from the latin word ursus, meaning bear. It includes the widely distributed brown bear, polar bear, and black bear.
Next, the species for polar bears are maritimus, which means sea bear (Tanya Dewey and Phil Myer). The polar bears
taxonomic group, genus, and species are all important because they are widely diverse compared to the other bears in
the group. Each bear in the Ursidae Group is unique, but they all have a lot in common. Bears are strong animals that
vary in sizes, but they all have the same strength. They can range from twenty five to sixty five kilograms or up to
eight hundred kilograms (Tanya Dewey and Phil Myers). In the wild it is most common for the males to be larger than
their female counterparts, sometimes in the wild there could be a male that is twice the size of the female. When
looking at each bear some characteristics that show on each one. Some include;

Diane Ravitch s Essentials Of Good Education
In the article Essentials of Good Education by Diane Ravitch, she discusses theories around the subject of the
education system in the United States. Throughout this essay, it rejects the idea of standardized testing. This meaning
that kids are not being taught fully what they need to be taught. It also presents the issue of the perceptions of students
in the system by legislatures.
Diane Ravitch is an educational historian and policy analyst, who believes that standardized education is not a smart
form of learning. The author s purpose in writing this article is to provide information about the value of arts
education, and tell them the threats that standardized testing provides. The author seems to be targeting people who

subject.
The author has many weaknesses and strengths. As said before, the author lacks the differing of other viewpoints and
also more facts. Although, the author does a great job of of clarifying her passion for the subject and making it clear
that this is an emotional subject on her part. She provides the right information to prove that she is confident in this
subject, but not enough information to prove that other people have a different viewpoint on the subject.
The Essentials of Good Education by Diane Ravitch provides the proper information for one to believe the issues our
modern public schools face. Public schools should teach students all material, no matter what is being tested. All
students got out and explore different subjects in college, therefore teaching all material will help students get through

The Importance Of Stereotypes In Literature
Stereotypes run rampant in the literary world today. It is much easier to write a stereotypical character because of the
reader expects them to act or respond a certain way and does not require an explanation of their motivation. But much
like Chimamanda Adichie warns, Show a people as only one thing over and over again, and that is what they become
(Adichie 00:09:25 00:09:37). But this issue is often addressed in reference to the protagonist. The hero is always
white; the hero is always attractive. The hero never disserves to suffer. Single stories do not just refer to the physical
characteristics of the character, though in can and often does. The heroes all tend to look the same so we associate
goodness with that specific physical description, but motivations can be just as misleading. All the heroes do good
things because they lived the same experiences, so these experiences make someone good. Also society remains so
focused on the single story surrounding the protagonist, it often forgets the other main component of a story, the
antagonist. But by dissecting the possible motivations for the villains, as my adaption does, I hope to explore the
different avenues to villainy and in turn disrupt their single story. Both nature and nurture can cause a person to do
and say the things they do in later life regardless of whether these things are good or bad. In my adaptation, both
Bluebeard and the evil queen have a corrupted source of nurture. Bluebeard s dad murders a

The Conservative Project Upholds The Best System Of...
It is essential for people to receive the wealth and resources they have earned for the amount of work they have
contributed. That is a fact of society that is undisputable from almost every perspective. This concept, however, is not
exclusive to just the majority of society. In several ways, one can argue that it is not just for the majority to have
control over private property rights. That is why I believe that the conservative project upholds the best system of
distributing wealth and ownership. Both liberal and conservative perspectives believe in the idea that management of
capital, as well as the economic system, should be handled by a group of leaders in the public and private world. This
is a shared belief between these two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to lecture 10, Capital and Liberal Ideology, it is stated that The United States was the first country created
on the basis of liberal ideology, the first country whose very justification for being created and existing came from
liberal ideology. The founding document of the United States, the US Declaration of Independence (1776) by
American revolutionary leader Thomas Jefferson, is based upon the most important founding document of liberalism.
The liberal agenda focuses more on actively helping the majority of the population through programs that aid the
poor, sick, and elderly. These have historically been paid for by taxing the working population, with wealthier citizens
paying a greater share. As seen in Lecture 55, Using Racism to Hide the Transfer of the White Majority s Labor to
Capital, there was a social program set up in 1866, which was the Freedmen s Bureau. The premise of this social
program was to help transition ex slaves from slavery to wage labor. This movement allowed capital to form in the
hands of these ex slaves. And as said, It also performed some welfare state functions, such as education and
rudimentary medicine, and was later used by the Republicans to try to secure some rights for blacks. Liberals also
focus on the regulation of major corporations through minimum wage laws and worker safety regulations. The key
defining aspect of contemporary conservatism is the opposition to major social programs

Hip Hop And Its Effects
Hip Hop Global Attractions Hip Hop in the most popular genre of music between all African American communities,
not just in America, but worldwide. Hip Hop has expanded itself into music, fashion, advertisement, movies, and it s
given many rappers, and those associated with the genre, the chance to influence their communities, societies and
their culture in general, but commercial Hip Hop in the U.S. has branded Hip Hop in a negative way. (The Young and
The Hip Hop, Hip Hop Culture Center in Harlem, 2012, Web, Oct. 27, 2014) This is all due to the negative imagery
and negative lyrics like the term nigga, negative implications of Hip Hop include exploiting black adolescent girls,
promoting unhealthy lifestyles, and implying that the open use of the word nigga is not harmful. Hip Hop has become
a global phenomenon where it has evolved from a genre of music to a lifestyle for the African American community.
One negative global implication that commercial Hip Hop in the U.S. produces is the characterization of young black
women in four different personas: Diva, Hoe, Gold Digger, and Bad Bitch. When young black women hear music and
see music videos that promote sexual conduct, they take on one of the different personas that is illustrated in the
music and treat themselves as sexual objects. This characterizations affects the black community worldwide because
this causes young black girls to be more sexually active at a much younger age, this results in teen pregnancies and

civilization. It s clear from Shaw and Holloway s reactions that this mysterious painting is what the archaeologists
were searching for. Once the painting is identified they do an in depth pattern recognition search of images from other
sites and discover global evidence of paleocontact. Soon Shaw and Holloway are sent on a undisclosed mission with a
group of explorers. After flying at light speed to a planet trillions of miles away from Earth the group of explorers
discover a spot they believe to be signs of civilization. After a brief moment of investigating they find conclusive
evidence. Nevertheless, many of these explorers have ulterior motive for being there, one mainly being the Weyland
Corporation. The Weyland corporation believes that this sight is where the human race actually came from. Discovery
soon turns to a fight for there life once they are discovered. Prometheus although it was filled with many thrilling
scenes it has many errors in its plot line pertaining to there archeological practices. First judging off of the first scene

Post Revolutionary America By Rosemarie Zagarri
The story of post revolutionary America, writes Rosemarie Zagarri, is the story of how American women and men
sought to define and ultimately to limit and restrict the expansive ideals they had so successfully deployed against
Britain. In this excerpt from Revolutionary Backlash, Zagarri depicts the extreme radicalism of the American
Revolution, while also suggesting that there were some constraints to its extremism. Unlike the normal way of life in
European government and society, Americans desired a nation in which the inherent rights and freedoms of
individuals were recognized and respected. While these rights and freedoms were ultimately achieved, many groups
of people were still left out. Women of all kinds, people of color, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the concept that only wealthy white men are free individuals was a common idea in European customs, many
people argue that the American Revolution was not radical in terms of Locke s theory. Despite his inclusion of
property within his argument, Locke still contends for the natural rights of all individuals. He does not include the
right to own property with the intentions of excluding women, colored people, or poor men. Locke s meaning is not
that only people with property have natural rights; instead, he includes the term property to claim that individuals of
every race, class, and background have the right to ownership, just as all individuals have the right to life and liberty.
Locke s idea is notably different from the normal concepts about liberty that encompassed European culture during
that time. Therefore, in regards to Locke s theory, the American Revolution was radical. In addition, the way in which
gender roles were altered during the American Revolution provides evidence of its radicalism. Traditionally, women
of any color had no place within the realms of politics in European culture. Strictly white men of wealth were allowed
to participate in government activities. Zagarri points out that the American Revolution triggered a continuing
argument over the rights of upper class white women in American culture and their

The Oceans Of The Ocean
Oceans are bodies of saline water that make up for much of the Earth s hydrosphere. Approximately, oceans cover
71% of Earth s surface and 90% of the Earth s biosphere. There are five oceans that cover our globe Pacific, Atlantic,
Indian, Southern or Antarctic and Arctic. In spite of all the water surrounding us, we know very little of the oceans
and the life within them. The mysteries are awe inducing as well as leave you in fear.
1. Unknown sounds.
In 1997, NOAA hydrophones picked up one of the loudest sounds ever recorded off the southern coast of South
America the Bloop was recorded by two hydrophones nearly 3,000 miles (4,800 kilometres) apart. Another sound
named Julia was recorded in 1999. According to NOAA, the most likely explanation for these two sounds is that it
was the sound of a large iceberg fracturing.
2. Underwater rivers.
When seawater dribbles through thick layers of salt, the salt dissolves and forms depressions in the seafloor. That
dissolved salt makes the water in that area denser and it settles into the depressions. These underwater lakes and
rivers, also called brine pools, are similar to land based rivers they have shorelines, and even waves.
3. Milky Sea Phenomenon.
The Milky Sea Phenomenon, most common in the Indian Ocean occurs on account of bioluminescent bacterial action.
These cause the water to turn blue, which to the naked eye appear as milky white in colour in the darkness. The Milky
Sea phenomenon has been recognized to be in

Investigating Factors That Affect The Police Of Policing...
2.1 Introduction
This chapter deals with a review of the literature on the topic of research to determine factors that affect the
effectiveness of the police in policing regarding race and corruption.
2.2 The problem exists in contemporary society
Many researches have raised concern over racism and police indulging in other criminal activities, especially
corruption the United Kingdom, but contemporary research has been more specific when dealing with race matter, the
scope has been so wide in that various scholars have found it important to explore it more to fight its prevalence. The
racism in the police is a not matter which should be kept in secret; the prejudice is very visible in the public domain
(Benson, 2010). The police approach to an issue is purely biased, the way police officers approach to white people is
different from the way they tackle the same to a black person, minority ethnics and Asian person (Weitzer, 2008). The
society has been socialized in a manner that the level of prejudice is used to define characters of a different race.
These definitions in most cases amount to hatred actions. The issue of concern is where to run for justice now that
police are part of this society. Due to this, many violence ends up unreported, In 2013/2014, the number of defendants
who were referred by the police to Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for a charging decision for racially and racially
aggravated crimes rose by 14.17% from the previous year to 12,184, and out of

  • 2. The poem, God’s Grandeur by Gerard Manley Hopkins is an... The poem, God s Grandeur by Gerard Manley Hopkins is an Italian sonnet, which closely follows the traditional Italian rhyme of ABBAABBA, and then CDCDCD. (Shmoop) There are also several words throughout the poem that rhyme within themselves. For example God, rod, trod, shod all rhyme. Gerard Hopkins liked to use sprung rhythm in which the stressed and unstressed syllables have a complicated relationship, and the message desired from the reader can change the rhythm. (Shmoop) Sprung rhythm allows each person to read the poem differently and take away what they wish. The speaker of this poem has lost faith in humanity and their treatment of the world God had granted us. However, in the second half of the poem, the speaker shows his views of the world and its connection to God. In the first stanza of God s Grandeur, the speaker is amazed at the greatness of God. However, he is dismayed by the way people treat God s creation. God himself directed humans to care for their world. Genesis 2:15 says, The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. (Genesis) Mankind s treatment of the Earth obviously did not measure up to the standard that the speaker has envisioned. This is clearly visible in lines four through seven, Why do men then now not reck his rod? Generations have trod, have trod, have trod; and all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil; and wears man s smudge and shares man s smell. (God s) The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Information Administration As A Critical Field Of... the train of information administration has to learn itself as its center of examination and review, it by the by gives careful consideration to controls that most straightforwardly and searchingly look at and educate addresses about information, and its inceptions and nature. This methodological inadequacy is an inquisitive inconsistency that thwarts the development of learning about information and hampers potential reasonable improvements, and advancements in learning administration rehearse. By looking to the latest improvements in epistemology, the theory of science, and related teaches on the quickly moving edge of the psychological sciences, an especially wealthier and more fascinating picture of learning rises than that which goes as money in contemporary exchange and verbal confrontation. The methodological assets made accessible by these branches of request along these lines have suggestions for the rational improvement and expansion of information administration as a critical field of scholarly and down to earth application. • 7. Visit To Hawaii There is always one place someone wants to go visit from hearing about it from a friend or seeing pictures online. The place I want to visit over any place in the entire world is Hawaii because of all the tropical foods, sunny beaches and so many activities to do. Such as, hiking to a waterfall and jumping in or going on a tour around the island in a helicopter. One reason I want to visit Hawaii is because the beaches look amazing, and the beaches have so many things to do. If I went I would go to the beaches on the bay first, to practice surfing and play games on the beach. I would play wiffle ball, ultimate Frisbee and pass a football around, or lacrosse ball. Wiffle ball is a lot of fun because I hit the ball to the ground a lot, so I dive to get the base. Ultimate frisbee is hard to play on the beach because of the wind, so I dive to catch almost every throw. After a couple of days I d switch to the ocean side of Hawaii to go body boarding, boogie boarding, and surfing. Boogie boarding is more fun with bigger waves because I get to ride the wave for a longer time. Bodyboarding is tough for me to catch a wave, but is amazing once I finally catch one. Surfing is a little tricky to stand up and is much easier for me to stay up once I get the hang of it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 8. Adult Supervision The concern of whether elementary school age children should require adult supervision, or should be trusted alone has been discussed. For parents, the task of providing care and attention for their children while juggling their other responsibilities as parents, has become complex and debate whether it is appropriate to leave children on their own. Many tend to believe, that young children should be supervised at all times, while others opine that children need their space. The reality is, elementary school age children require a balance of adult supervision as needed depending on scenarios, but as well as their time of independence when time permits based on the scenario and a bond of trust. Adult supervision is possible, if not already, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Supervision of children should be a norm that parents and their adolescents should be accustomed to. Not only does supervision offer a protective barrier to assure that children are safe, but as well aid in establishing a bond of trust between adults and kids. Aside from establishing a bond, the supervision of children has statistically proven that cases of kidnapping and sexual assault committed against children have gone down due to the increase of administration over children. In scenarios such these, where a child is left at a park on their own with no adult, such as Deborah Harrell s case of leaving her nine year old daughter alone at a park as she went to work, adult supervision is required. If any harm was to occur to Harrell s daughter, such as an injury, kidnap attempt, or even sexual assault, the lack of adult attention would have been the cause as to why a tragedy could have occurred. Despite the fact that ..data indicates that child abuse reports tend to go down over the summer.. (Belinda Luscombe), it does not suggest that child abuse cases do not occur. Cooperation ... It seems as though Chinaski has died and went to post office hell. The average day at the post office is just full of mindless tasks while Chinaski battles with elements, the dogs and the people who seem hell bent on making his life impossible. Bukowski begins to capture the sheer drudgery, the mind numbingly, boring tasks, the petty office politics, and the endless rules that range from how often Chinaski can use the toilet to where he can place his hat. On the other hand, scrap any ideas of Chinaski being a victim. When he gets off work, he drinks all night long, and his normal state of affairs is to begin the day with a hangover. It is hard to feel sorry for Chinaski in spite of the fact that he hates his job, and this is because our anti hero is always funny and he is not out to please anyone. It never occurs to Chinaski to worry about what people think of him. It is with woman that he is arguably his most reprehensible. When the novel begins it says he is with Betty, his shack job, a woman who is absence and goes to work, therefore frees Chinaski for his opportunistic sexual encounters. There s a scene in both the novel and the movie where Gatsby and Tom are verbally fighting. In the novel, they settle down at the end and go their separate ways. Although, in the movie, much of the dialogue is the same, but the ending is what surprised me. • 13. Rupert Murdoch s War On Journalism In the documentary Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch s War On Journalism , Fox News began as a seemingly innocent, right winged, news channel, with the slogan We Report. You Decide. However, as time moved on from the first airing of the news channel, it was as if Fox had followed a more biased and corrupted route than what had been proposed. It primarily discusses how Fox News, and perhaps other popular media news outlets, have begun to actively misinform their viewers for personal or business gain. Originally, Rupert Murdoch, a news corporation CEO, was deemed as the overall instructor of what was to be represented on the Fox outlet. However, at the time of his ownership, the news outlet was said to have had zero news value. Therefore, as Roger Ailes, a former media strategist for several Republican presidential campaigns, joined, and inevitably took over the channel, Fox News began to evolve into something called fair and balanced news reporting. Unfortunately, fair and balanced was far from the truth. In fact, after several examinations performed by both journalists and former Fox News contributors, it was discovered Fox News had been continuously using sinister tricks, such as ... • 14. The Disadvantages Of Robotics IN THE early 20th century the future seemed bright for horse employment. Within 50 years cars and tractors made short work of equine livelihoods. Some futurists see a cautionary tale for humanity in the fate of the horse: it was economically indispensable until it wasn t. The common retort to such concerns is that humans are far more cognitively adaptable than beasts of burden. Yet as robots grow more nimble, humans look increasingly vulnerable. A new working paper concludes that, between 1990 and 2007, each industrial robot added per thousand workers reduced employment in America by nearly six workers. Humanity may not be sent out to pasture, but the parallel with horses is still uncomfortably close. Robots are just one small part of the technological wave squeezing people. The International Federation of Robotics defines industrial robots as machines that are automatically controlled and re programmable; single purpose equipment does not count. The worldwide population of such creatures is below 2m; America has slightly fewer than two robots per 1,000 workers (Europe has a bit more than two). But their numbers are growing, as is the range of tasks they can tackle, so findings of robot driven job loss are worth taking seriously. The paper s authors, Daron Acemoglu of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Pascual Restrepo of Boston University, are careful to exclude confounding causes as best they can. Their results are not driven by a few robot intensive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Episodic Memory As teachers, we are here to educate our students in our areas, but how do we know when students actually understand and learn the information being taught? Marilee Sprenger (1998) said memory is the only way to verify learning . After researching the parts of the brain and learning how it processes information, her statement is true. Memory is the process by which we retain the knowledge and skills for the future (Sousa, 2011). According to Sprenger (1998), there a five separate memory lanes: semantic, episodic, procedural, automatic, and emotional. Semantic memory deals with words and is the most difficult because you must process it repeatedly for long term effects. Episodic memory is location driven. The procedural memory is your how to memory. Automatic memory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Final memory is emotional memory, which connects back to the amygdala where all your emotions lay. Effective teaching uses strategies to help students recognize patterns and then make the required connections to process the new working memories so they can travel into the brain s long term storage areas (Willis, 2007). The first strategy I will do in my classroom is to provide down time in between learning episodes. I teach in block scheduling and I ve come to realize that students remember best what comes first, then when comes last, but tend to forget everything in the middle. If I break my block time into four sections, since high school students can handle about 20 minutes in working memory, I give students time to process the information being taught. Western Imperialism and Modern East Asia Essay example Western imperialism in East Asia caused many tribulations for China, Japan, and Korea but also helped them to become contemporary nations. The East Asian countries were tremendously affected by unequal treaties, extraterritoriality, and above all, technology. Great Britain encroached upon China their greed for open trade with the Chinese empire resulting in the deterioration of the Chinese culture, which led to the emergence of a modernized civilization. By 1834, Great Britain directed Lord Napier to bypass the commerce authority in China, the Cohong, and negotiate matters of trade with China s governor general who declined any business agreements for the reason that the Chinese saw no reason to sully their dignity by dealing with barbarians . (pp. 298) Hence, in 1839, when Imperial Commissioner Lin Zexu arrived in the Chinese trading port of Guangzhou to suppress the opium transfer, war broke out between Great Britain and China. Commissioner Zexu was successful in eradicating the opium from the port, yet the Opium War was a defeat for the Chinese and their morality. Queen Victoria of Great Britain quickly retaliated on China and gained British compensation to their exported commodities and an agreement from China for the repayment to British peddlers for their destroyed property. Chinese officials were also forced to not only expand Western trade giving British merchants direct access to the Qing court ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Philosophy of Literacy Instruction Literacy Defined Literacy embraces reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Integrating all of these into a literacy program is key. Teachers must provide endless and ongoing opportunities for their student to read, write, listen, and speak. There are many components that make up literacy. In order to effectively teach students these components the teacher must model the concept for the students. As teachers, we can t expect or assume that the student already knows what we expect of them. Modeling gives students a basis of what to go by. Modeling is the first and most important step in order for the students to gain mastery of a concept. A teacher must also undergo guided practice with the students. A teacher should always ... I will send home praise notes rather than just negative notes on students. In my classroom I will have a specific outline as to what a literacy lesson will look like. Each lesson will focus on reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I will have a set behavior management plan that will be followed at all times. I will always introduce a lesson by activating prior knowledge, motivating the student, and by stating the objectives. I will always model for the students what it is that they are expected to do. The students will always undergo guided practice before they set off on their own to do something. Then when I am sure that the students understand I will have them independently practice. Once the concept is mastered I will assess each student to be sure that they can apply what they have learned. When my students pick up a book they will automatically know what to do. • 19. Examples Of Dishonest In The Great Gatsby The Great Gatsby is an exceptional piece of American literature written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, in 1925. It follows the story of 32 year old Jay Gatsby, from the perspective of newcomer Nick Carraway. He moves to West Egg, and settles down next to Gatsby, who throws lavish parties for the neighborhood. Eventually, we find out that Gatsby is pining away for Daisy Buchanan, his love five years previous. He pursues her, but it turns out to be his pitfall. In the end, Daisy accidentally hits someone, for which Gatsby takes the blame and gets shot while swimming by the husband of the woman Daisy hit. The tragic ending can be attributed to one person; Jay Gatsby. He was responsible for this terrible tragedy because he lied about his character, he refused to deal with the present situation, and he ruined Tom and Daisy s marriage. Gatsby is responsible for his own regrettable ending because of his dishonesty and deception. He was dishonest about a lot of things. He lied about his job, his past, and does nothing to dismiss the wild rumors surrounding him. Two of these include that he was a German spy, and that he killed a man once. When they first met when Gatsby was as a poor soldier, he was dishonest to Daisy about his wealth as well. She said he acted rich , and he did not correct her. This leads to the whole misunderstanding and rage at the end of the novel when Jay is exposed by Tom for how he made his money. If he had been honest about how he came to be rich, then there would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Full Cream Milk Lab Report Full cream milk was used in the experiment as a source of triglyceride lipid. Triglyceride lipids can be hydrolyzed to form glycerol and fatty acid as shown in the equation below. Triglyceride + 3 water → glycerol + 3 fatty acid The enzyme lipase acts as a biological catalyst where it provides an alternative energy pathway for the hydrolysis of triglycerides. This will lower the energy barrier, the activation energy needed, for this reaction. Hence the reaction will take place at a higher rate since lesser energy is needed. This hydrolysis reaction occurs in the duodenum which is an alkaline environment. This makes the optimum pH, which the lipase works most efficiently in. be alkaline as well. Sodium carbonate solution is used to provide the alkaline environment as it is a relatively strong base. When sodium carbonate is added to water to form the solution, sodium hydroxide, a base, is formed as shown in the equation below. Na2CO3 + H2O → 2NaOH + CO2 ... Therefore bile is secreted to emulsify the globules. Bile is produced by hepatocyte cells and stored in the gall bladder below the liver. Bile is secreted into the duodenum via the bile duct. Bile molecules have a hydrophilic and a hydrophobic end. This allows them to insert themselves between lipid molecules and thus prevent them from coalescing1. The polar bear, has unique characteristics that make it stand out the most compared to the other bears in its taxonomic group. The taxonomic group that the polar bear falls under is the Ursidae Group ( Tanya Dewey and Phil Myers). Breaking it down even further it goes down to genus, the genus of the polar bear is Ursus and it is derived from the latin word ursus, meaning bear. It includes the widely distributed brown bear, polar bear, and black bear. Next, the species for polar bears are maritimus, which means sea bear (Tanya Dewey and Phil Myer). The polar bears taxonomic group, genus, and species are all important because they are widely diverse compared to the other bears in the group. Each bear in the Ursidae Group is unique, but they all have a lot in common. Bears are strong animals that vary in sizes, but they all have the same strength. They can range from twenty five to sixty five kilograms or up to eight hundred kilograms (Tanya Dewey and Phil Myers). It is much easier to write a stereotypical character because of the reader expects them to act or respond a certain way and does not require an explanation of their motivation. But much like Chimamanda Adichie warns, Show a people as only one thing over and over again, and that is what they become (Adichie 00:09:25 00:09:37). But this issue is often addressed in reference to the protagonist. The hero is always white; the hero is always attractive. The hero never disserves to suffer. Single stories do not just refer to the physical characteristics of the character, though in can and often does. The heroes all tend to look the same so we associate goodness with that specific physical description, but motivations can be just as misleading. All the heroes do good things because they lived the same experiences, so these experiences make someone good. Also society remains so focused on the single story surrounding the protagonist, it often forgets the other main component of a story, the antagonist. But by dissecting the possible motivations for the villains, as my adaption does, I hope to explore the different avenues to villainy and in turn disrupt their single story. Both nature and nurture can cause a person to do and say the things they do in later life regardless of whether these things are good or bad. In this excerpt from Revolutionary Backlash, Zagarri depicts the extreme radicalism of the American Revolution, while also suggesting that there were some constraints to its extremism. While these rights and freedoms were ultimately achieved, many groups of people were still left out. Women of all kinds, people of color, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since the concept that only wealthy white men are free individuals was a common idea in European customs, many people argue that the American Revolution was not radical in terms of Locke s theory. Despite his inclusion of property within his argument, Locke still contends for the natural rights of all individuals. He does not include the right to own property with the intentions of excluding women, colored people, or poor men. Locke s meaning is not that only people with property have natural rights; instead, he includes the term property to claim that individuals of every race, class, and background have the right to ownership, just as all individuals have the right to life and liberty. Locke s idea is notably different from the normal concepts about liberty that encompassed European culture during that time. Therefore, in regards to Locke s theory, the American Revolution was radical. In addition, the way in which gender roles were altered during the American Revolution provides evidence of its radicalism. Traditionally, women of any color had no place within the realms of politics in European culture. Strictly white men of wealth were allowed to participate in government activities. Approximately, oceans cover 71% of Earth s surface and 90% of the Earth s biosphere. There are five oceans that cover our globe Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern or Antarctic and Arctic. In spite of all the water surrounding us, we know very little of the oceans and the life within them. The mysteries are awe inducing as well as leave you in fear. 1. Unknown sounds. In 1997, NOAA hydrophones picked up one of the loudest sounds ever recorded off the southern coast of South America the Bloop was recorded by two hydrophones nearly 3,000 miles (4,800 kilometres) apart. Another sound named Julia was recorded in 1999. According to NOAA, the most likely explanation for these two sounds is that it was the sound of a large iceberg fracturing. 2. Underwater rivers. When seawater dribbles through thick layers of salt, the salt dissolves and forms depressions in the seafloor. That dissolved salt makes the water in that area denser and it settles into the depressions. These underwater lakes and rivers, also called brine pools, are similar to land based rivers they have shorelines, and even waves. 3. Milky Sea Phenomenon. Investigating Factors That Affect The Police Of Policing... 2.1 Introduction This chapter deals with a review of the literature on the topic of research to determine factors that affect the effectiveness of the police in policing regarding race and corruption. 2.2 The problem exists in contemporary society Many researches have raised concern over racism and police indulging in other criminal activities, especially corruption the United Kingdom, but contemporary research has been more specific when dealing with race matter, the scope has been so wide in that various scholars have found it important to explore it more to fight its prevalence. The racism in the police is a not matter which should be kept in secret; the prejudice is very visible in the public domain (Benson, 2010). The police approach to an issue is purely biased, the way police officers approach to white people is different from the way they tackle the same to a black person, minority ethnics and Asian person (Weitzer, 2008). The society has been socialized in a manner that the level of prejudice is used to define characters of a different race. These definitions in most cases amount to hatred actions. The issue of concern is where to run for justice now that police are part of this society. Due to this, many violence ends up unreported, In 2013/2014, the number of defendants who were referred by the police to Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for a charging decision for racially and racially aggravated crimes rose by 14.17% from the previous year to 12,184, and out of ...
