1. Essays On Education System
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essays on Education System" poses a multifaceted
challenge, requiring a delicate balance of research, critical analysis, and thoughtful articulation.
The intricacy lies in navigating through the myriad aspects of the education system – its
historical evolution, current structures, challenges, and potential future trajectories.
To begin, one must delve into extensive research to comprehend the diverse educational models
across the globe, from traditional systems to contemporary approaches. This involves exploring
educational philosophies, policies, and the socio-economic factors influencing the development
of these systems. The complexity deepens when addressing the dynamic nature of educational
paradigms, constantly shaped by technological advancements, cultural shifts, and evolving
pedagogical theories.
Analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the education system further complicates the task.
Identifying and critiquing issues such as accessibility, inclusivity, and the effectiveness of
different methodologies requires a nuanced perspective. Additionally, discussing the impact of
external factors like socio-economic disparities and global trends adds another layer of intricacy
to the essay.
Moreover, the essay must offer potential solutions or improvements to the existing education
system. Proposing reforms demands a thorough understanding of the political, cultural, and
economic contexts in which these changes would occur. Crafting a well-supported argument for
change involves synthesizing information from various disciplines, including sociology,
psychology, and economics.
Articulating these insights in a coherent and engaging manner is yet another challenge. The essay
should maintain a logical flow, transitioning seamlessly between historical context, current
challenges, and future possibilities. Ensuring that each point is substantiated with credible
sources and coherent reasoning demands meticulous attention to detail.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Essays on Education System" is a demanding task that
requires an in-depth exploration of educational landscapes, critical analysis, and effective
communication. The intricate nature of the topic necessitates a comprehensive understanding of
diverse disciplines and a keen awareness of the ever-evolving nature of education. It is not
merely an exercise in stringing words together but a thoughtful and analytical endeavor.

An assembly line is the arrangement of equipment, manpower and machines in
different stages of production in an effort to develop a finished product (Smith,

snacks and cakes. Due to the rising demands of cupcakes across the world, there has
been a dire need to increase its supply. As a result, many stakeholders in the food
industry have developed a number of strategies with which to enhance better
production of cupcakes (Smith, 2011).

3. Advantages Of Direct Democracy
Direct Democracy There is a lot of controversy over which government is the best,
and honestly I don t think there really is a best form of government but I believe
there that some are better than others. Direct Democracy definitely has its flaws, it
is the best option open to us at this time. It gives the people the power to get what
they want. America is already a form of Democracy, it s a Representative Democracy.
So direct Democracyis not too far fetched.
Direct democracy, also known as pure democracy, is where the people vote to on or
form consensus on policy initiatives directly. The word democracy literally means
rule by the people . The United States today is a representative democracy. Which is

We want rights, freedom, and equality. But we also need some sort of structure. As
people we need a say in how we live our lives but we cannot just do as we please.
We can t have the government gaining too much power but we need to still be
controlled. Harmony in all aspects is what we are sought after, we want and need
a balance. Direct democracy is a way to get citizens involved and united. It helps
keep the government transparent, you cannot make promises to the people and
then not keep them because you run the risk of the people removing you from
power. It holds everyone accountable, the officials to do what they promised and to
fix the problems within society and the people to keep their government going in
the right direction. The individual is foolish, the species is wise. (Burke). Together
we are better. There are also some pros to having a direct democracy, when the
people want to see change, they appeal and they vote. Which would truly be a
government for the people, by the people , protecting our interests. There is a checks
and balances system that makes sure the power gets distributed. Democracy also
promotes equality, allows for change, doesn t put too much power in the hands

Introduction :
By the end of Mubarak s rule, the legalised political opposition in Egypt was already
a mirror to the regime it was presumed to challenge: discreditable, central, aging and
undemocratic.
Systematic state repression and internal divisions fragmented the opposition and
deviated it from the role assumed by its counterparts in liberal democracies. Instead of
competitive interaction with the regime, the legal opposition stationed itself as an
integral part of the authoritarian polity. Years of regime opposition dynamics ended
with the latter s alignment with the regime and becoming more of a domesticated
opposition. This clientelist relationship was necessary for the survival of the semi
authoritarian regime. It enabled it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The 1990s were labeled as Egypt s deliberalisation period (Stacher, 2004).
They were regarded as the years when the regime gave birth to new forms of
authoritarianism that do not fit into classic categories of one party, military, or
personal dictatorship (Schedler, 2002).
Since the publication of Huntington s Third Wave in 1991, many analysts have
anticipated a democratic transition to occur in Egypt.
Indicators of the progress of the democratization process in Egypt included the
emergence of thousands of civil society groups, legal political parties, and
numerous newspapers, as well as the increasing role of the judiciary and rule of law.
Yet, despite the arguments that Egypt s managed process has a democratic endgame,
the 1990s witnessed a rollback of civil society and political opposition.
The deliberalisation process began in the early 1990s and was initially directed at
Islamist activism and political aspirations. When the regime successfully dealt with
the Islamists, it began to curtail its own weak opposition parties. Of the sixteen
legalized opposition parties in Egypt, seven have been closed since 1998. The regime
also prevented prominent independent members of parliament from using already
existing parties to challenge the ruling party (Stacher, 2004).
As Kienle (1998) argues: Since the
7. Community Of Practice
Introduction
As our world becomes increasingly complex, it is important for today s leaders to
develop a network of committed individuals who are willing to share knowledge and
wisdom, challenge beliefs, and invest in each other s success. These networks or
communities of practice take many different forms, such as professional learning
communities (PLC), professional learning networks (PLN), mentoring, coaching,
social media groups, or social media chats. Even though each community may take
many different shapes and forms, they share common characteristics, such as a
mutual interest, meaningful interaction, and the investment of time. Although
communities of practice require a significant investment of time, interaction, and

Without time spent interacting and developing relationships with a group of
individuals, we fail to establish the trust that is necessary for growth to occur. Time
helps develop the trust which is required to challenge our thinking, motivate us to
learn from others, and cultivate growth. A good example of this occurred during the
time of Jesus three year ministry on earth. He invested a substantial amount of time
mentoring, coaching, and challenging his disciples to adequately prepare them to
share the gospel throughout Europe and Asia.
In our fast paced society, finding time is a difficult task; however, throughout my
interviews with leaders from various professions, I have been reminded me of the
correlation between time and growth. Not only is time essential for developing trust,
but it is also critical to growth. Many of the leaders I interviewed have learned to
spent significant amounts of time disciplining themselves practice their skills, learn
from others, and challenge their beliefs. Although I have always enjoyed learning, I
have found that I have isolated myself in my learning experiences. At times, I have
ignored and failed to appreciate the contributions of others. My ignorance has blinded
me from trying new ideas, challenging old beliefs, and trusting others enough to

8. Three Times In China
Three Times: Republican, China, Socialist, China, and Post Mao China Introduction
The twentieth century was not only transformational but also traumatic for China just
like other societies. Notably, the prevalence of warfare in China was high throughout
the century. In addition to war, dramatic peacetime economic and social changes
characterized the country s twentieth century. These shifts often resulted from official
policies related to redistribution of property, collectivism experiments, and land
reforms. China s early cinema industry represented these changes through films such
as the Goddess, the Red Detachment Woman, and Farewell my Concubine. Each of
these films represented societal shifts in the country during three unique historical
periods. For instance, the Goddess is a representation of the economic, social, and
political changes in the country during the Republic China period. Similarly, the
Red Detachment of Women epitomizes China during the socialist era. Finally, the
film Farewell my Concubine depicts the Chinese society during the Post Mao age.
The paper will provide a comprehensive analysis besides comparing the social,
cultural, and historical aspects of the Chinese society based on these films. Republic

Being a young carer for someone who has a physical disability can be very
overwhelming so it is important that the young carers needs are being met. Taking a
break from caring such as going away on holiday, this would be the time for the
young carer to relax and just look after themselves for a short period of time, not
worrying about no one but themselves.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is extremely important for a young carer as they
tend to forget about their own health because they are focused on the person they
are caring for. Ways the young carer could maintain a healthy lifestyle is, making
sure they have a balanced diet, making sure they do some form of exercise for 30
minutes a day and to even attend screenings every once in a while at their local
doctors to make sure there isn t any medical problems to be addressed.
Having a social life is definitely something what a young carer should fit into their
lifestyle. A social life can consist of going out for meals, meeting up with a group of
friends, going out doing fun activities and going out on night s outs. Having a social
life would be something the young carer could look forward to and most importantly
the young carer would feel like a normal teenager having fun.
Staying in education is very important for a young carer. Getting an education would
lead the young carer to become successful and get good job. Young carers would

The 1970s for the United States of America was a time of recession, war and a world
famous government scandal. The war in Vietnam left the people of the nation in
disarray and turmoil. The government took a great deal of abuse from the people with
the decisions made during the Vietnam War. President Nixon attempted different
strategies than used before to end the VietnamWar with little success. The public s
image of the government was distorted when the Watergate Scandal was made public

The people saw how dirty the politicians can be and lost a great deal of respect for
the government. The Watergate Scandal displayed criminal acts which involved
the President and high ranking officials. The after effects showed the balance shift
from the Republican to the Democratic Party with the voters. Most of the voters
were disgusted with Nixon s actions and leaned to the Democratic Party for
restructuring. The Watergate Scandal also led to the people blaming the
government of other issues like inflation, recession and energy cost. The story of
Watergate is a complex and deep one full of intrigue and back room deals, public
politics and personal motivations (Evans, 2002). The people of the nation
witnessed President Nixon abuse the power of presidency and his actions plague
the political practices to this day. In conclusion, the 1970s were a time in history
that will be remembered for many years to come. The Vietnam War was full of
controversy and frustrated the American pride the country obtained after World War

11. Relationship Between Marketing And Customer Value
INTRODUCTION
This paper aims to explain the relationship between marketing and customer value
and their relevance when promoting and ensuring customer satisfaction. It will
discuss marketing as a business philosophy and its importance in organisations. The
concept of customer value will also be examined and its significance to the success of
a product. Throughout the paper, the Apple Watch will be drawn on to further explore
the concepts and to put them into context.
Marketing has been defined in a number of ways. Kotler (1983,p.7) defined
marketing as a human activity directed at satisfying needs and wants through
exchange processes. He felt this encapsulated the fundamentals of marketing and
went on to present the basic concepts of needs, a state of felt deprivation, that are
plentiful and complex, they include basics such as food or clothing, wants which
he described as an expression of human needs, shaped by a person s culture or
individual development (Kotler, 1972, p. 8), demands, wants that are backed by
buyer power, exchanges, the act of obtaining a desired object from someone by
offering something in return. (Kotler, 1972, p. 10), an exchange can also occur
between a person and a television program (Bagozzi, 1975) and transactions, a trade
of values between any two parties. The main aim of Kotler s definition was to
highlight the importance of customer satisfaction, and the significance of needs and
wants.

Herman Meville s novel Moby Dick delineates the audacious journey of Captain
Ahab and his crew aboard the Pequod as they hunt for the infamous White Whale.
With Ahab at the helm, the quest is one of revenge, as Ahab s leg was taken by
Moby Dick some years prior to this fateful voyage. However, throughout the
journey, the crew of the Pequod questions the rationality of pursuing the most
viciously lethal creature to ever inhabit the sea. Since Ahab knows fully well of his
inability to slay Moby Dick without the help of a crew, he utilizes his immense
rhetorical skill in order to convince them to continue on the path to their watery
graves. His usage of hyperbole, diction, logical fallacies and personification allows
the mad captain to reassure his crew that their journey will be a profitable one....

Ahab will hear nothing of this and in turn counters with a monologue, pushing his
rhetorical prowess to the limits as he convinces the crew to tarry on towards their
final destination. Ahab s use of hyperbole in this section creates a tremendous
sense of gravity towards the situation. He stakes the claim that his final showdown
with Moby Dick, Twas rehearsed by thee and me a billion years before this ocean

severity the mission holds to him by using the word billion as opposed to a smaller

14. The Major Functional Unit Of Living Organisms Essay
Cells are the major functional unit of living organisms. Each component of a cell
plays a vital role and the cytoskeleton is just as important as any other organelle.
Without the cytoskeleton a cell would have no structure. The cytoskeleton is
composed of microtubules, actin filaments, and intermediate filaments, which are
necessary for reproduction, maturation, and survival of plant cells (1). The primary
function of the cytoskeletonis to provide framework for the celland help support
development and movement throughout the cell (2). The cytoskeleton contributes an
overall structure for each cell, however different plants use the cytoskeleton for many
different functions depending on how the microtubules and microfilaments are
arranged. The cytoskeleton provides a plant with organogenesis, cell shape, regulates
the speed of mitochondria, functions in plant gravitropism, and maintains organelle
partitioning in single cell C4 plants. One of the most influential functions of the plant
cytoskeleton is the development of multicellular organs, otherwise known as
organogenesis. The main components of the cytoskeleton; microtubules and actin
filaments are needed for secondary cell wall structures that are formed by vascular
cells. They are also used for plasmodesmata, which allows plant cells to communicate
and this is important for the organization of cellular behavior that occurs during
organogenesis (1). As a plant cell undergoes mitosis, after going through anaphase the
15. Counting Bells Knelling Classes To A Close Literary Devices
The word choice in the first stanza, Heaney, starts off by giving a sense of isolation.
He says, I sat all morning in the college sick bay (l. 1). This instantly strains away
any positive thoughts that one might have had from simply reading the title. Starting
off a mid term break in the sick bay doesn t exactly give the best start to the vacation.
Also in this line of the first stanzayou can see that Heaney had a since of isolation in
the morning before he went home for, what seems to be, a less than spectacular
mid term break. There are also a couple of literary devices used in the first stanza.
In line two there is alliteration and symbolism used. The line goes counting bells
knelling classes to a close. Knell commonly refers to a bell that is rung solemnly
for funerals and mourning of death. That can be seen as a symbol foreshadowing
what is yet to come later in the poem when the reader learns that Heaney s brother
had been ran over by a car. Bells knelling and classes to a close (l. 2) are alliteration.
It is alliteration because the cl s are the same sound and they occur very close to
each other. The word choice in line four, when the specific time of two o clock is

in a sense it is verbal irony as well. It is a euphemism because saying it was a hard

16. Porphyria s Lover Essay
Robert Browning s poem, Porphyria s Lover, is a dramatic monologue which
focuses on gender inequalities in England. Browning effectively exemplifies the
males desire to dominate women in all spheres of life during the Victorian Era
through the speaker s state of mind, psychology, and actions. The patriarchal society
of Victorian England suppressed the female identity and sexuality, by objectifying
women and treating them as inferior. In the beginning, Browning shows how
dominant Porphyria is by controlling the speaker s body and making him do things:
She put my arm around her waist/And made her smooth white shoulder bare (16
17). This is the exact opposite of what one would expect to see in the typical
Victorian home. Once Porphyria confesses her love for the narrator, she finally
expresses the kind of dependence the narrator desires, resulting in the speaker taking
control... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, the speaker objectifies his lover and refers to her as it, as if she has
now lost her importance: And I, it s love, am gained instead! (55). According to the
speaker, this is how the relationship between a man and woman should be; there is
not a mutual domination, but only the man has the power to decide what happens.
Moreover, he reinforces his belief that what he did was right, by ending the poem
with a reference to a power higher than social influences: God. He says that, God
has not said a word! (60), effectively providing proof that this is what God wants; he
didn t object to what the man did because he was right. Furthermore, in Deborah
Gorham s work, The Victorian Girl and the Feminine Ideal, Gorham articulates on the
central female role in the early and mid Victorian years: accepting limits and
restraints, and recognizing male superiority

think what you say, and what you do are in harmony. Describing happiness can seem
as ambiguous as accomplishing and achieving it. Without help, we as different
individuals all have the same want happiness. However, the satisfaction in life can not
be defined through just one definition or study. The concept of happinessand it s
sources have been defined through religious, psychological and abstract ground.
People in general are happier when they are around a set of people that uplifts them,
because psychologically their happiness is affected by their environment. Happiness

There is not a true definition of the fulfilled enjoyment of life, because it all
depends on the individual, what they strive to have with happiness. In today s
world, it seems as though everyone is searching for happiness. We re looking for it
when we struggle to achieve that elusive work/life balance (Cox 1). Happiness is
as complicated as a recipe can be. Take this individual, mix them with a hint of
pleasure, add the principles of engagement to enhance the flavor of the morals and
top it all off with their purpose and meaning. This recipe is happiness within a
person. Happiness comes from within. Happiness is a state of internal fulfillment.
Happiness is not the result of external events. We labor under the misconception
that external events are within our control (Harrison 6). Stephanie Harrison s
article in the Huffington Post Why Happiness Comes From Within talks about
how the definition of what true happiness is defined through what we see it is.
From this article, it is learned that the best way to to view happiness is by looking
at what makes a human happy. People often look at other outlooks amongst society,
because there is always going to be someone better than them. For example, people
want to live the life of what they see on Instagram, because they feel that all of these
materialistic things make a person happy. We all like to think that happiness is being
on an island in the hot sun, but what we fail to realize is
18. Death of the Literate World in Ray Bradbury s The
Pedestrian
Ray Bradbury s short story, The Pedestrian, shows the not too distant future in a very
unfavorable light. The thinking world has been eaten away by the convenience that
is high technology. This decay is represented by the fate that befalls Leonard Mead.
Though only an isolated incident, it foreshadows the end of thinking, literatesociety.
The world in the year 2053 is populated by people who are more dead than alive.
Their technology has made them very lazy. Walking has become obsolete, as the title
of the story indicates. Leonard Mead is not a pedestrian; he is, in a city of three
million people (105), the pedestrian. Walking had become so uncommon, that the
sidewalk was vanishing under flowers and grass (104 105). Bradbury ... Show more

Leonard Mead hears nothing but whisperings and murmurs (104) coming from the
open windows he passes. The human voice has become so scarce, Mead hesitates
each time he hears one (104). Clearly Mead yearns to have any sort of conversation
with a real person. Reading has also become a casualty within the technologically
advanced world of the twenty first century. Mead was a writer, but he hadn`t written
in years (105). Dependence on television had created a world in which magazines and
books didn t sell anymore (105). Movie versions of books were as close as these
people came to reading.
The atmosphere is gloomy, with several references to a dying civilization. First, the
story is set in November. It is the beginning of the end. Secondly, Bradbury describes
walking through Mead s neighborhood as not unequal to walking through a
graveyard (104). Another reference to the doomed society is Bradbury s description
of the houses as being tomblike buildings (104).
But among this garbage heap of humanity stands Leonard Mead, a kind of Anti
Christ. Mead represents the last of the thinking human beings. Bradbury s
description of Mead as being alone in this world of 2053, A.D., or as good as alone
(104) is a reference to this situation. It is significant that Mead begins his walk in a
westerly direction (104). Like the sun passing from view, so is the walking, talking,
thinking man. Mead is a

Probability sampling, also known as random sampling, requires that every member of

each member of the population to have an equal opportunity to be chosen, the
sampling method must select members randomly. Probability sampling allows every
facet of the study population to be represented without researcher bias. Four common
sampling designs have been developed for selection of a random sample: simple

Great example you provided. It sounds like a great example of probability sampling
which is also called random sampling where each person chosen to participate each

Cheryl,
I agree with your posting that when dealing with a larger population obtaining
participants can be a very time consuming process and it needs to be taken in
account for when performing your population selection. If we are surveying a
certain element of a reportable disease process I wonder if using the local county
infectious disease data would be possible.
Laisamma,
It sounds like using the stratified random sampling would be a good choice for
using a particular group of people. In stratified random sampling the individuals
conducting the research know some things about the community that is providing
date such as age, gender, ethnicity, and medical diagnosis. This is also a good option
when there is a time restraint to obtain the information that is being gathered. The
survey would also have to be ensured it is written in a way that the average person

20. The Music Of Guns N Roses
Guns N Roses is a heavy metal band that helped the rise of heavy metal as the
mainstream genre in the 1980 s. Their music has a unique sound with influences from
heavy metal and hair metal/glam metal periods. One song that illustrates both of these
musical influences is the song Welcome to the Jungle on the album Appetite for
Destruction.
The members of Guns N Roses got their start as a band in Los Angeles, California.
At the time of their band rising to fame, America was still in the transition of heavy
metal becoming a mainstream genre again. Although metal was present
throughout the 1980 s it was not until the late 80 s when it achieved mainstream
success. The popular music genres at the time were hip hop, electronic music, soft
rock, alternative rock, and pop music. Country music was also a popular genre of
music in the early 1980 s but eventually got less popular. While Guns n Roses were
building up their popularity it took nearly a year to get the gigs they were looking
for. In that year the odds were against the band. They had a hard time when it came
to getting gigs because ... a series of frenzied, violent shows landed the Gunners on
the shit list of everyone, including club owner, rival bands and the press everyone
but the fans, who grew in numbers with each passing gig, (Del, Axl Rose: The
Rolling Stone Interview ). Once they had a large fan base, Tom Zutaut noticed the
bands popularity and decided to sign them to Geffen Records in 1986. Even though

Nitration of Naphthalene
Wed 2/25/2015
Lab report # 1
Abstract:
The purpose of this experiment was to nitrate naphthalene with nitronium ion, which
is formed at low concentration from a reaction of nitric acid and sulfuric acid. The
percent yield from the experiment was 54.4% of the product, and the melting point of
the possible results were 59 В°C for 1 nitronaphthalene, and 78В°C for 2
nitronaphthalene.
Introduction:
Polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons such as naphthalene can be nitrated by the same
methods as benzene derivatives, including the well known mixed acid method that
utilizes a mixture of nitric acid and sulfuric acid. The electrophile is the nitronium
ion, NO2+, which is formed at low concentration by a reaction of ... Show more

The solid was then boiled with 10ml of fresh water for 10minutes. The mixture was
cooled in ice and the product was collected by vacuum filtration. 0.1 of the crude
product was then recrystallized for 5minutes with 5ml of hexane under reflux. The
hot solution was filtered using a preheated filtering paper. Crystallization occurred,
and then the product was collect by vacuum filtration. The product was dried and the
melting and mass were measured of the product, nitro naphthalene.

24. Reflection Paper On Homelessness And Homelessness
When we were first introduced to this assignment, I was both excited and nervous.
I was excited because it gave me the opportunity to step of my comfort zone. I was
also excited to be able to get out into the community and practice some of the social
work skills that we have learned in class. I was nervous because I knew it would be
hard to hear the struggles of a single parent experiencing homelessness. As someone
who was raised by a single parent, I also know how easy it can be to fall into
homelessness. Overall, I think I was more excited about doing this assignment
because I truly did want to hear the stories that single parents experiencing
homelessness wanted to tell.

My thoughts have stayed the same about homelessness; however, I certainly have
started to acknowledge that homelessness is a very real thing. I also try my hardest
to recognize that these individuals are people; therefore, I now make it a point to at
least make eye contact with them on the street.
Social Justice
As I stated before, far too often our society ignores that homelessness is a struggle
for many people. Additionally, our society often thinks these people choose to be
homeless. Terra talked about an incident at a gas station, and how one of the
employees at the gas station said all the people at across the street are drunks and
addicts. She talked about how upset she gets when people have these misconceptions
about people that are struggling with homelessness. Hearing her talk about this broke
my heart because our society should not shame people for being homeless; instead,
we should be looking at solutions to end homelessness. It is a human right to have
basic human needs, yet our society continually provokes their unjust agenda.
Our society also tends to ignore domestic violence, which is something that my
mother and Terra both faced. Terra could not get any help with service providers
because her children and her were not in immediate danger; although, Terra certainly
knew they were in danger. Social justice is helping

It s a good chance that you ll quickly recall the name and talents of singer, actor
Frankie Avalon, no matter your age. Frankie s stellar career embraced three
generations of music, television and motion pictures and was an intrinsic fiber of
American entertainment history. Frankie Avalon was born September 18, 1940 in
The City of Brotherly Love , Philadelphia, PA. He could light the flame and turn up
the heat on nearly every love struck teen girl or adult woman in America! A child
prodigy, Frankie entered local amateur talent contests after he turned 10 and won
them, one after another. In the years that ensued, he continued his musical studies

to Venus, the Roman goddess of love and beauty, to send him a girl to love and one
who will love him. Another of Frankie Avalon s best known songs was Why .
Recorded in 1959, the song went to Number 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 pop

Gender Roles
Do men and women fully understand each other or do their generalizations prevent
them from really understanding what the other is like? In The Wife of Bath s Tale,
Geoffrey Chaucer conveys that it is hard for people to understand the opposite sex.
The tendency of being bias towards a specific gender makes it difficult to reach an
understanding. The struggle of trying to understand each other is also seen in News
Coverage of a Woman s Rights Campaign and The Men we Carry in Our Minds.
In The Wife of Bath s Tale, by Geoffrey Chaucer, a knight shows how difficult it is
to understand the opposite sex. The knight commits a crime and in order to save
his own life he must find the answer to the question What is the thing that women
most desire? (Collections 79 line 79). Answering the question is difficult for the

27. Summary of Thomas Hobbes Self-Love . Essay
Summary of Self Love by Thomas Hobbes
Thomas Hobbes opens with the idea that all animals live within two sets of perpetual
motion. The first being the inborn nature of animals to breath, the pulse and course of
blood, the acquiring of nutrition and the exertion that follows, his vital motions. The
second animal motions are voluntary, to speak, move and go. These voluntary
motions are fueled by ones thought and imagination and are not always apparent to
us. Essentially, Hobbes is saying that our thoughts propel us into motion or endeavor.
When endeavor draws us toward something it is the cause of appetite or desire ,
what it is pushing us from something it is aversion. Appetites and aversions are both

The thought that all men feel that they are greater than the other actually makes them
more alike. Thomas Hobbes then begins to explain that what any one man has
another may take at will. Some men take pleasure in the conquest of what belongs
to another and will take more than they need, while others are content with the
bare essentials. Hobbes states that, because it is in man s nature to increase his
own power it should be allowed. Hobbes states that there are three causes for
quarrels between men, the first being competition and the want for man to gain
from another through violence. The second is diffidence, or a lack of confidence
in one s own ability of worth which in turn causes men to fight for safety, perhaps
to distract another from his insecurities. The third is for the sake of glory, or to
secure his reputation. Thomas Hobbes says that, because all men have a natural
animalistic inclination to fight for what we want and believe we deserve, a
common power , a government or hierarchy of some sort, is vital to maintaining a
semblance of peace. Hobbes muses that, without security outside of us there will be
no industry or commodities, no modern comforts, no society. Without someone to
lord over us in some way our future will be one of continual fear, and danger of
violent death; and the life of man, solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short... (pg. 48).

These things are all part of ocean city s crazy experience.

School Vouchers: Not the Solution
As standardized test scores continue to plummet and our nation falls farther behind
such industrial rivals as Germany, England, Australia and Japan in comparable
education, parents are questioning the current system of education. After being
kicked around the national agenda for decades, the school voucher issue is finally
being emphasized in several state legislatures, as well as in Congress. In the website
titled Vouchers: No, but...Taxpayer Help to Parents will Advance Separation , David
Bahurlich reinforces his support of school vouchers, both publicly and privately
funded, in an attempt to show that vouchers will lead to a better quality of education
for the children in our school system ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are several equally strong arguments for this type of system. In the 70 s, the
primary argument for vouchers was presented by Milton Friedman, who thought
that by taking the money out of the government and putting it into the hands of the
citizens to be spent on their children s education many of the bureaucratic steps
involved in the schooling process would be eliminated, leading to a more efficient
establishment ( Educational Issues , Short Takes ). This efficiency would lower
the overall cost and increase quality, as reforms would be able to occur at a quicker
rate (Recent Education, Henderson). This has given way to the emphasis on the
empowerment of the parents, allowing them to have more input on the education
of their children ( Educational Issues ). Sister Mary Virginia of Santa Teresita
School thinks that it is necessary for us to adopt a system where lower income or
inner city parents are able to send their kids to a school where religious values are
taught, whether those are Christian values or of another religious sect. She further
argues that as it is now, only the children of wealthy families can get a good
education, leaving poorer households unable to pull themselves out of poverty (
Privately Funded ). The California Voucher Initiative follows this line of reasoning
and states that by doing so, there is no added cost burden on the taxpayer, making it
possible to better our schools without shelling out more money to do so

Violet Batchelor I believe that one of the most interesting and widely used and seen
human computer interface devices is the desktop. Being only 20 years old, I have
never personally owned a computer that did not have some kind of desktop. I had
never thought to delve into why it was called the desktop until we discussed this in
class. A computers desktop is the place where the user can organize shortcuts to their
different activites. Some examples are a link to an internetpage, a shortcut to
MicrosoftOffice, or a shortcut to My Computer in the file explorer. The desktop was
invented along with the GUI (graphical user interface) and so I personally put it
under the category of the granddaddy of computer interfaces. If you use a modern

You can learn a lot about someone by how their desktop looks and what s in it. A
writer would probably have hundreds of shortcuts to their unfinished screenplays,
while a programmer may also have 100s of shortcuts, but to different coding
projects. The desktop also, as users before the desktop know, makes using a
computer much faster and easier. Instead of having to search (possibly through
command line) for something you may possibly do everyday, you can make a
shortcut to it (and in some cases, your computer will make one for you) and just
click it. I can almost hear the AHA! moment of we ll call it a desktop! I imagine,
especially in the beginning, that the name desktop was the best fit for this interface.
A programmer looked around their desk, thinking what will we call this great new
interface? and they saw their files and papers surrounding them and came to the
logical conclusion that that interface full of their documents and files looked just like

MRI technology is still in its infancy. The first MRI exam on a human being ever
taken was on July 3, 1977. MRI has been in widespread use for less than 20 years
(compared with over 100 years for x rays). There is still a long future for MRI. It is
only the beginning. We can now image in seconds what used to take hours.
Here are a few of the developments:
1. Very small scanners for imaging specific body parts are being developed.
2. Functional brain mapping (scanning a person s brain while he or she is

35. What Is The Similarities Between The Hapolis And Hagia
Sophia
I decided to compare the Pantheon and Hagia Sophia. The Pantheon is in Rome, Italy
and the Hagia Sophia is located in Istanbul, Turkey previously Constantinople. I chose
these structures because the construction of domes fascinates me. How the domes
were constructed is explained in the text, yet the concept still baffles me how people
were actually able to build domes with the technology present then and that the domes
did not collapse on themselves.
The primary similarity between the two works are the massive domes topping them.
The second similarity is that both the Pantheon and the Hagia Sophia served as a
place of worship. The Pantheon was dedicated to all the Roman gods, then was later
donated to the Pope and used as a church. The Hagia Sophia was originally a church
commissioned by the Byzantine emperor, Justinian. ... Show more content on

36. How Payment System All Over The World Has Experienced
A...
INTRODUCTION
Payments system all over the world has experienced a period of dramatic change.
Consumers, businesses, and government are moving away from paper checks and
towards electronic forms of payment. Technological advances and competitive forces
are fundamentally altering the payments landscape, with important implications for
efficiency, safety, and access.
A payment card is a device (embossed plastics) that enables its owner (the
cardholder) to make a payment by electronic funds transfer. This is the technology
reduced the use of cash to purchase goods and services. Payment card allows the
cardholder to pay for goods and services based on the holder s promise to pay for
them. The most common types of payment cards are credit card and debit cards.
Payment cards are usually 85.60 Г— 53.98 mm in size, which complies with the ISO
/IEC 7810 ID 1 standard. They usually also have an embossed card number
conforming with the ISO/IEC 7812 numbering standard.
A payment card is mostly electronically linked to an account or accounts belonging
to the cardholder. These accounts could be deposit accounts, loan or credit accounts,
and the card is a means of authenticating the cardholder. The Wal Mart Visa
/MasterCard honor all cards settlement and the proposed First Data Concord EFS
merger are just two examples of the dynamic forces at work in this industry.
There are different types of payment cards. These are a credit card, debit card, charge

Robert Smith tells the story of how his curiosity about the origins of fondue led him
to find out about the Swiss Cheese Union, how it formed, and this formed a cartel
and led to the creation and popularization of fondue (Smith). Smith recounts meeting
one of the rejected cheese makers, the cheese rebel, who wanted to join the Swiss
Cheese Union and discusses the formation of the cartel and how they used strategic
interdependence to benefit themselves during a time of surplus (Smith). Fondue was
popularized to sell a large amount of cheese to counteract the surplus (Smith). The
Swiss Government was trying to promote economy wide stability by giving the
business subsidies to help with their surplus issue (Smith). Agricultural subsidies and
corruptions in the oligopoly of the swiss cheese union caused the demise of the swiss
cheese union (Smith). Within The Fondue Conspiracy, Smith discusses how the
Swiss Cheese Union worked as an oligopoly to promote their agenda (Smith). Had I
not taken microeconomics, I would not have known what an oligopoly was. Another
topic discussed in the podcast was the economic and political functions of
government, specifically subsidies. I would not have understood what a subsidy if I
had not taken microeconomics. The purpose of this paper is to explain oligopolies
and the economic and political functions of government because they helped me

Food security is defined as when all people have access to enough safe and healthy
food to fit the preferences and needs of each person for a healthy life. Food
sovereignty is one s right to both nutritious and culturally appropriate food through
ecologically safe methods. This means that even if people have foodto eat, it does not
necessarily mean they have food securitynor food sovereignty (Rosenberger 2012:17).
This also means that in a country, the poor must have as much access to nutritious
and culturally relevant food as the wealthy in order to have true food security and
sovereignty.

Maize is used to make tortillas, which is possibly the most important staple in their
diet. Tortillas are generally eaten with every meal and therefore maize is highly
important to ensure Guatemalan food security (Shriar 2003: 97). Many households
in Guatemala even grow maize themselves; as they believe without maize, one
cannot live. Guatemalan peasants even take pride in cultivating their own maize
and knowing that their tortillas were made from their own crop (Isakson 2009: 749
750). It has become a whole cultural experience for many Guatemalan peoples. It
seems that now Guatemalans identify themselves with the crop of maize, as it is
such an important symbol of their cultural identity. This ability to control their own
production of a culturally acceptable food like maize helps them reach closer to
food sovereignty but they will not fully reach it until the entire agricultural sector
itself is no longer monopolized by a select few

Do you know what sport was established in the 15th and 16th century? Many people
may not realize that the great sport of wrestling was established so long ago.
However, wrestling is much different now than it was when it first came about. Since
the sport of wrestling began, major changes and advancements have come about
which have changed the sport tremendously and made it what it is today. Wrestlingis
one of the oldest sports, and it has a lot of historical background. Wrestling was
established in the 15th and 16th century, but it was not a competitive sport at the
time. There have been cave drawings of wrestling found from 3000 B.C., which
shows that either the sport or at least ideas about the sport have been around for a
long time (Olympic). It was during the pioneer days that wrestling s popularity
began to grow. In Canada, there was a wrestling champion from each of the small
villages and settlements. After the champions were crowned, they would all
compete against each other and whoever won was the best of the best (Wrestling).
A wide variety of people were involved in wrestling, even some presidents,
including Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Washington was good enough
to win a tournament, and at one point in history, there was a style of wrestling
named after him. That style, however, is no longer used in today s sport.Wrestling

whole measure of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:11 13 NIV). There was no
absence of organization in the office of the church.
So why are there so many denominations? Here are a few names of some
denominations that many have choose to worship with. Some of us attend the
Christian Non denomination, Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist or
Wesleyan, Protestant, Pentecostal or Charismatic, and Episcopalian or Anglican,
Jehovah s Witness and Mennonite a few that comes to mind.
I am sure that there are more but I cannot think of them at this time. The
denomination that has the largest membership size in the United States in today s
churches is the Catholic Churches. The Catholic Church is also part of the Christian
Church community that is led by a Pope, the Rome Bishop or
41. Only the Heart
Only The Heart is a novel written by Brian Caswell and David Chiem that tells a
story familiar to many Australians. A Vietnamese family is threatened, pulled apart
by the war in that country. Some of its members disappear; hard earned wealth is lost.
The novel leads the reader to a new understanding of refugees with the demonstrated
views of pain, determination, survival and freedom, which are brought to life
throughout the novel. The fall of Saigon in 1975 provides the momentum for Mai and
her daughters, Phuong and Linh, with Mai s brother Minh, his wife Hoa and their
three sons, to escape the new regime that has transformed their country into a prison.
The novel Only the Heart shows that just because they are refugees they are not ...

She then says Your motherloves you child. Remember that. Always. (Chapter 6,
Fair Exchange, page 67). The situation was dangerous indeed and through Mai s
bond with Phuong and as a mother, protected Phuong from her would be
kidnappers. The use of emotive language in this scene show that Mai truly loved
her daughter. One of the many similes that the writer used was: The world slides
away like a memory and is gone. (Chapter 13, Before the Death of Innocence, page
139). The use of
42. Literary Devices In Stopping By Woods On A Snowy
Evening
Winds, snow, and darkness oh my! A traveler and his noble steed find themselves
on a quest deep in the woods on the darkest snow filled night and thus stopping to
take it all in. An analysis on the Poem by Robert Frost, called Stopping by Woods
on a Snowy Evening . What was the desire of the exhausted traveler to stop and
appreciate the woods that seemed so irresistible? Although his horse questions his
judgment, and the traveler s hidden promise to keep at the end of his destination, he
stops to take in the scenery. With the output given the traveler s journey is not over
when stated that he has miles to go before he sleeps even though he s tired he takes
this moment to reboot his energy in the night air, making his quest about the journey
and then about his previous engagement. The rest of this essay will express the
literary devicesand themes featured in this poem.
This poem grabbed my attention because I was engaged while reading it the whole
time, with the imagery helping to make a perfect scene in my head. Every line
gave another piece to the overall scene and perspective. Each time I have re read
this poem I find something different and a new meaning to each line or a new
literary device used. While reading how dark, cold and big the woods are I never
felt like they were dangerous, maybe a little foreboding at times, but instead the
feeling of the traveler and his horse were welcomed there by the similarities to the
place and that the blanket of snow wrapping
43. Catherine The Great Biography
Catherine the Great, was born on May 2, 1729, in Stettin, Prussia (now Szczecin,
Poland), and became the Russian empress in 1762. During her reign, Russia
expanded its borders, made many political reforms, increased the religious toleration,
and modernized exponentially, earning her the title of Enlightened Despot. She died
on November 17, 1796 in Tsarskoye Selo, or what is now Pushkin.
Catherine, started out as a minor German princess. Her birth name was Sophie
Friederike Auguste, and she grew up in Stettin in a small feudal state called Anhalt
Zebst. Her father, Christian August, was a prince of these insignificant holdings, but
he gained fame for his military service. He served as a general for Frederick William
of Prussia. Princess Johanna ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No finalized laws or reforms came out of the commission, but it was the first time
that Russians from across the empire were able to express their thoughts about the
country s needs and problems. Ultimately, the Nakaz became more known for its
ideas and as a point towards Catherine s ideals and progressive thoughts, rather than
its actual influence on the country s standing.
A skeptic religiously, Catherine tried to diminish the power of the Orthodox Church.
She had given them the land peter had taken back, but she soon changed her mind.
Catherine declared that the church s wealth would belong to the state. To that end,
she made the church part of the state, and therefor all of its holdings, including more
than one million serfs.
At the time of Catherine s coup, Russia was viewed as underdeveloped and covered
in rural farms by many in Europe. She tried to change this negative opinion through
expanding and upgrading the country s educational systems and artist export.
Catherine owned a boarding school established for girls from affluent families in St.
Petersburg, and later called for free schools to be an accessible opportunity for
children in towns all across
44. My View Of America In Today s Society
In today s society each person has a different vision of what America is, should be
or even what it could be. The visions I have for America may be different from
others. It includes visions about what I think of America, the freedom of America,
the relationship of America and other countries, and the religion of people in
America. The first thing I am going to explain is, What do I think of America?
America has people that take care of their community like cleaning up after
themselves, by greeting new people in the community that are from a different state
or even country. The second idea is Freedom of America. We have freedom today
because we have people in all branches of the military such as: Coast Guard, Marines,
Army, Navy, and
45. Effects Of Legalizing Marijuana
There are many great effects on the legalization of marijuana. Marijuana can help
with Medical issues. Marijuana also has different street names like pot, weed, gas,
and etc. Legalizing weed is a controversial topic to all. This paper will compare the
pros like reducing cancer and tax revenue and cons like memory loss of legalizing
marijuana. People want it illegal, others want it legal. Preferably marijuana shall be
legal. Marijuana can help save the United States. Taxes on weed to change how we
live. It can give the government the money we need to fix roads and etcetera. In
Colorado, for example, analyst suggest that taxing the drug could raise between 5 and
22 million dollars annually (Business insider, 2012, Para.7). This means we the
46. Independent Brat
Independent Brat Thinking about this topic I found myself stuck in some aspects.
Taking these tests and thinking about who I am to myself and my peers is not a
regular thing I have thought about before. After assessing, I had learned things about
myself that I have never noticed before, such as how independent I am, my honesty,
my mean side, my less confident sides, and all my weird sides. While taking these
tests I also had thoughtabout how I was brought up into the world. The first
assessment I took was the Self Identity test. I found myself to be independent,
stubborn, to go with the flow, judgmental, a daughter an older sister, and a best
friend. While taking this test I had tried to not think about the bad qualities in myself,
but as I am thinking about who I am to some people... Show more content on

I have my flaws and I know what they are, but why be bothered by ever little things
wrong with you. There are many different reasons for why I am this way and it is
the relationships I have formed over the years. I have some of the best friends I
could ask for even after graduation from high school. My friends are extremely
positive about themselves in a humble way, seeing other people s positivity really
reflects on yourself and how you want to view not only them but yourself. In high
school teens are usually trying to find themselves, they look for the crowd they
want to fit into and id say I found myself an incredible one. As a younger teen I
found it extremely hard to fit in and I was overly shy. But once I found my crowd, I
found myself and fit right in. A positivity in higher self esteemis that my romantic
relationships have never ended badly. I have always stayed friends and in touch
over the years no matter how bad it was. I find myself to not dwindle on the past but
to move on, some things happen for a reason even if its not the best situation or was
the right way to handle
47. Poolcorp Intern
Google defines an intern as a student or trainee who works, sometimes without pay,
at a trade or occupation in order to gain work experience. An intern uses this
opportunity to gain knowledge beyond the classroom. By gaining the real world
experience needed to succeed in the job market, interns make for more competitive
and capable employees. Knowledge and excellence in the classroom can only take
one so far, the internship is where an prospective employee is separated from the
pack. I have already garnered some internship experience at Poolcorp via working
in the Sales Tax Accounting department. Currently, I work as an intern in the
Accounts Payable (AP) department. The AP department manages PoolCorp s
balance sheet paying bills to and receiving payments from PoolCorp s business
partners. As an AP intern my first goal is to excel in every aspect of my job.
Whether that be checking invoices, scanning papers, or just alphabetizing stacks of
bills, I want to do my part to help PoolCorp run as smoothly and efficiently as
possible. I believe that excellence and efficiency are expected so I must fulfill. In
addition, I expect to learn the ins and outs of the department and how it is run from
bottom to top. Furthermore, I would love to learn about how the whole company of
Poolcorp is run: how... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore a good mentor program is crucial to the success of the intern. A good
mentor program consists of laying the groundwork for the intern through teaching
how to do the task at a hand a guiding the intern to perform the task correctly and to
the set standard. A good mentor also corrects the interns mistakes by showing what
the intern did wrong and guiding them in the right direction. A mentor will make or
break the experience that the intern has and gains from the internship; a good mentor
will ensure that the experience had and gained will be
48. Effects Of Institutional Racism
Institutional racism has solidified its position into various aspects of American
society. It has installed itself into employment practices, all levels of education,
healthcare, housing, politics and the criminal justice system. Institutional racism has
made some subtle changes to replace the boldness of slavery and Jim Crow.
However, in educational institutions the effects of racismand discrimination are so
delicate they typically go unnoticed by students of color. Individual racism usually
happens on the personal level where the prejudice is expressed either consciously or
unconsciously while there is some form of interpersonal encounter. When it comes to
institutional racismit is similar to the individual concepts, however policies and
practices are associated with with the belief of racial dominance of one group over
another. It is a powerful system that use race to determine power and
privilege(Reynolds et al., 2010). Even after the desegregation of school, educational
institution are still separated. In Shelby County where I have lived since 1999 there
are schools for minorities, and there are schools for whites. The schools for
minorities in the city of Memphis have police officers walking the halls and there no
books for learning. There are higher numbers of Whites students enrolled in private,
charter, and magnet schools in the more affluent segments of the county. They will be
exposed to the advantages of a proper educationbecause of their race and privilege
