The Fate Of The Corps
Lewis E. Morris novel, The Fate of the Corps: What Became of the Lewis and Clark Explorers
after the Expedition, encompasses the events that had preceded Lewis and Clark s expedition of
the American West. Readers of diverse backgrounds have read Morris book and have produced
reviews for those seeking insight of his book. These reviews vary from those written by and for
scholars, and those written for the everyday reader interested in Morris book. By reading multiple
scholarly reviews of Morris novel, one can become acquainted with the various differences and
similarities between reviews provided by those with reputable background knowledge on the Lewis
and Clark Expedition. It is evident that the two scholarly reviews by Jay Buckley... Show more

Guice provides readers with brief, focused summaries and criticisms of the information that he
found to be noteworthy. In contrast, Buckley reviews the book as a whole without delving too far
into specific details.
A part from how these two reviews are organized, both authors introduce the subject at hand very
similarly. The first topic mentioned in both reviews is the difficulty that must be met when
researching and writing information on about thirty different people. For example, Guice begins
his review by stating, It must be difficult to find a book more appropriately titled or challenging
to organize. Thirty three people including Sacagawea, her mixed blood infant Jean Baptist
Charbonneau, and William Clark s slave York... (Guice 678). Buckley writes a similar introduction
that states, Other than a few biographies on the principal characters of the Corps of Discovery,
knowing what happened to the other three dozen individuals after their return has been piecemeal
at best and haphazard at worst. (Buckley 99). Both authors introduce their reviews on the same
topic, and how they write their introductory statements sets the tone for the rest of the review.
These elements in both reviews are reiterated in their conclusions which as coincidentally are as
both similar to each other as their introductions are. Both Buckley and Guice begin to end their
reviews with specific criticisms they have with Morris book, and finally conclude their reviews by

The Secession Of The United States
In November, 1860, Abraham Lincoln was elected U.S. President with only 40 per cent of the
popular vote. South Carolina had threatened to secede from the Union if Lincoln won the
election. The state made good their threat by seceding from the Union on December 20, 1860.
Mississippi and Florida followed in early January, 1861. The Alabama State Legislature directed
Governor A. B. Moore to call a state convention in Montgomery on January 7, 1861, to debate
the question of secession from the Union. On January 11, after four days of hot debate, an
ordinance of secession was adopted by a vote of 61 39 and Alabama became the fourth state to
secede from the Union. The two delegates from Lauderdale County voted against secession as did
most of the delegates from North Alabama.
Anticipating secession, several counties in North Alabama, East Tennessee, North Georgia, and
North Mississippi talked of forming a neutral state called Nickajack if secession passed. Nothing
came of the talk. However thousands of Alabamians, mostly from the northern counties, enlisted in
the Union Army. There were six white Union regiments raised in Alabama: 1st Alabama Cavalry,
1st Heavy Artillery Battery, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Infantry Regiments. Many others left the state
to join Union units, or they joined Union units as they passed through the state. Many former
Lauderdale County slaves left their owner s plantation and joined U.S. regiments (i.e., the U.S.

Red Figure Technique ( Herakles And The Nemean Lion )
Although these two vessels, one in the Black figure technique (Theseus and the Minotaur) and the
other in Red figure technique (Herakles and the Nemean Lion), have very distinct styles and
techniques, they also have key similarities, that with closer analysis, reveal more about Greek
values than was originally known. Showing us how Greek art had not only developed over time,
but also providing an understanding as to why Greeksfound scenes of heroes battling monsters so
popular. However, before we can begin to discuss why Greeks found scenes of heroes battling
monsters so popular, we must first explore the two vessels individually (without the artwork).
Firstly, the Black figure jar (Theseus and the Minotaur). With further research, we find the title of
this work is, Attic Black Figure Neck Amphora, and it is attributed to Group E (workshop of
Exekias), dated approximately 550 B.C.E. Athens, Greece. The medium is terracotta, and it is an
amphora, meaning a storage jar, most likely used to store wine or oil. Similarly, the Red figure jar
(Herakles and the Nemean Lion) was also made of terracotta, but instead of storing wine or oil, it
is said to have been a hydria, meaning it was more like a water pitcher. Titled the Attic Red
Figure Kalpis , we find that the artist was probably an Aegisthus painter, who lived in Athens,
Greece, around 470 B.C.E. As previously stated, both vessels were terracotta jars, however, in
order to achieve the black figure, and red figure

Our Group Formation By Frank H. Bouldin
Our group formation was initiated around two weeks before the tipping point project was
assigned. Dylan Thorpe had just presented his personal project, a remote controlled P 51 based
off of the historic P 51 named Dallas Doll that was flown by Frank H. Bouldin. At the end of the
school day Dylan gave a demonstration flight for his R/C, around one hundred and fifty people
came to watch the ten minute long flight. The following Monday while he was riding home on
the bus he realized how he could adapt his personal project into a tipping point project. He
brought up his idea with Kyran McLeod, a fellow R/C pilot whose personal project had been an R
/C quadcopter. Kyran had attended Dylan s demonstration flight the week before, helping out with...

Any other option would take time to plan and put into practice, time that we would not be able to
spare if we were going to gather data and then complete the three requirements of the Tipping Point
project on time.
After we were informed that the project would require a second option we decided that selling
papercraft models would be a possibility. The problem with the papercraft models being that they
take a large amount of time to create and they re relatively valueless to the market of high school
scholars in which they would be distributed. The high schoolers that would be in our market
most likley aren t very interested in paper aircraft models. As stated in Gladwell s book The
Tipping Point, The messenger matters: messengers are what makes something spread. But the
content of the message matters too. (Gladwell, 92). We figured that remote controlled aircraft
would be significantly stickier than small paper aircraft. A second problem would be the cost of
producing the models, not only would it take a new sheet of paper per model, it would also use a
large amount of toner, a resource that isn t exactly cheap.
We decided that the success of their project would be measured by the amount of people who
came to watch the show. David would use a counting tool to measure this variable, then we would
use this data to decide whether or not people lost interest in the airshows over time, or if it

Appiah The Ethics Of Identity
Written by Ghanaian American philosopher Kwame Anthony Appiah, The Ethics of Identity
distinctively examines the true meanings of heavy and often abstract social topics such as
individuality and identity by constantly referring to John Stuart Mill s philosophical yet liberal
concepts and ideas. Although the book contains a narrative side, it also has a formation of
arguments that precisely present Appiah s points. The idea that we search and pursue our
individuality in the world that shapes us is one that Appiah tends to focus on throughout the text. In
relation to the idea of identity, this essay will explore and connect Appiah and Mill s views on this
idea to one of, if not the most, influential musical composers in history: Ludwig Van... Show more

Basically, a selfish form of individualism is possible, and some people may have an identity that
only benefits their own desires. One may consider Beethoven s personal individuality to be
rather selfish. Sure, Beethoven influenced music as he made it transition from the classical era
to the romantic era, and he was the bridge between the two worlds. However, it is arguable that
he composed his well known and ground breaking music only to satisfy himself as he was an
unmarried man who always lived alone His lack of normal interaction made him a miserable
man. The clear connection between Beethoven s deafness and Appiah is that sometimes identity
is a concept that we can t always choose. It can sometimes come to us as we continue on with
life, so we have to accept our fate. An example of this would be when Appiah mentioned how
John Mill fell in love with a married woman named Harriet Taylor. She understood him because
she, herself, was also a philosopher. Mill and Taylor had a platonic relationship that lasted for 20
years, but after her husband died, they lived together as a man and a woman by marriage for a
few decades. Furthermore, although Beethoven fell in love with multiple young women (who
were his music students), the most notable one was yet another married woman named Antonie
Brentano. She was the only woman as far as we know ever to return Beethoven s love. This
brings me to the point that both Beethoven and Mill didn t choose who they fell in love with.
Nobody would have planned to fall in love with another man s wife and spend the next two
decades in a nerve racking mГ©nage Г trois. (6). Appiah is saying that sometimes plans that an
individual makes in life don t always work out. They can go against a person s true, and falling in
love is something one can t

The Pros And Cons Of The Human Genome Project
In this essay I am going to be talking about what the Human Genome Project is and how it has
benefited society.
(3)The Human Genome project focuses on identifying, sequencing and mapping all genes in the
human body. Also to develop faster methods for sequencing DNA. It is an international research
project that celebrated its 27th anniversary on 1 October 2017. In comparison, the Human Genome
Project can be compared to the Apollo project which brought humanity to the moon.
(3)The idea of the Human Genome Project came from an undergraduate researcher for the Thomas
Hunt Morgan lab called Alfred Sturtevant, who, in 1911, had to map the genes of fruit flies so that
he could manage his data. This would then mean that the Morgan lab can track the results through
generations of scientists because they would have his results which they could compare future
experiments to. This would then lead to the results being more accurate as they would have a set of
results to relate to once they have completed the experiments. Therefore, this would mean that it
would make their results would be more reliable.
(3)The Human Genome Project has revealed that there are around 20, 500 genes in the human
body. Because of this, the whole sequence of genes in the human body can be used to identify the
locations of other genes in the human body. This would lead to scientists having a better
understanding of how many genes are in the human body. Therefore it would suggest that the
sequence of genes

The Problem Of Children Intelligence Test Scores
Nowadays, the global is facing the same pressure in early childhood education; many countries
education system start to teach children academic skills at progressively younger age; because of
the concerns about falling behind peers in their later the school aged. However, these early
accelerated preschool programs do not necessarily guarantee future academic success. Even worse,
that may cause children s social and emotional problems in the future (Marcon, 2002). More and
more researchers suggest that through engagement in The Vygotskian theory of make believe play,
young children will be on the right track of cognitive development, then master necessary
prerequisites of academic skills.
During the past decades, many types of research ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the article, Accelerating Cognitive Development: Helpful or Harmful to Children? Lois Nelson
argued that accelerate cognitive developmental program could indeed produce short term gains, but
these gains can t maintain for the longer term. Even worse, any benefits of acceleration were shortly
retained only in childhood year, but this will make effects on decreasing motivation for learning in
later life (Nelson, 1973, p. 257). As for children who have been pushed to learn the inappropriate
concept, those pushed will let children losing interests in learning new things.
Beyond being fun for children, make believe play has been considered as a necessary early
childhood activity. During playing, kids pretend different roles, and they may need to incorporate
with others to imagine various circumstances and regulate themselves by following rules of the
game scene.
Vygotsky viewed make believe play as a sole, broadly influential zone of proximal development
where children s learning takes place within. The make believe play makes kids trying out full
various challenging skills in the way to advance children themselves (Vygotsky, 1933/ 1978). In
Vygotsky theory, make believe play is the core to lead children learning development; it helps
children to create an imaginary situations and make them act before thinking. While children are
pretending, they changed the meaning of usual things by creating

Similarities Between Good Country People And A Good Man Is...
In Flannery O Connor s two short stories, Good Country People and A Good Man is Hard to Find
, Marxist and feminist aspects of both pieces are prominent in how the protagonist women and
antagonist men reaffirm these perspectives. For example, the grandmother and Hulga represents a
delusional upper class that views itself differently from the rest of the world, and the Misfit along
with Manley Pointer represent the masculine reality to that delusion. The grandmother s family
represents the way things actually are and serve as a scapegoat for her to pass judgment on,
whereas Mrs. Freeman, the housekeeper from Good Country People concentrates on the ghastly
reality that the supposed good country people idealize.

Moreover, the grandma from A Good Man is Hard to Find and Hulga from Good Country People
parallel in several ways. While the grandma dresses as an upper class lady, believing to be
morally superior to everyone, Hulga also believes she is better than most people because of her
PhD. in philosophy. Their feelings of isolation coupled with the two s moral superiority complexes
make them supremely scathing women to be reckoned with, and most of the words that come out
of their mouth are harsh with little regard to how their ill chosen words affect others. However, one
stark difference separates the two characters. Hulga possesses an insane amount of knowledge and
has no one to converse with. Her mother and Mrs. Freeman would both rather entertain platitudes
about the good country life than be involved in stimulating conversation about anything of interest
to Hulga. This is also where the grandma and Hulga truly diverge, as one can easily infer that the
grandma would rather indulge in frivolous and upper class conversations about nothing of
importance than look introspectively at herself and her own existence. Additionally, these defining
attributes made it easy for both women to be taken advantage

A Primate s Memoir, By American Biologist
(1)The book, A Primate s Memoir, by American biologist, Robert Sapolsky is divided into four
parts. These four parts detail the stages of both his research of the behavior of a troop of African
baboons and his unintentional research of human behavior as to himself through his encounters
and experiences as a young researcher in Kenya, Africa for the first time. Sapolsky names the four
parts of his book to describe the four stages of a baboons growth. Ultimately, these parts also
reflect Sapolsky s personal growth and transformation as he journeys through Africa and studies
the baboon troop. Since, at the outset of his research, the baboons he will study seem to be around
this age, Part 1 is labeled The Adolescent Years . As he is both a rather naГ
Їve and untested young
man as well as a new researcher on his first trip to Kenya, these are also adolescent years for
Sapolsky. In his youthful inexperience and naivete, he manages to get kidnapped and become
broke, homeless, and scammed out of money by people falsely claiming they were in need. As
with the baboons, for Sapolsky, adolescence is a rough journey but lessons learned the hard way
are an effective means of instilling an understanding that one s ability to survive depends on an
ability to comprehend how one s environment operates and must be navigated. In the end, lessons
learned in adolescence help provide the guidelines and skills for coping with future challenges that

Different Aspects That Go Into Making A Business...
There are many different aspects that go into making a business successful. Businesses need a
strong vision, great leaders within the organization, strong sales, a successful sales team, a steady
stream of revenue as well as a way to produce the revenue or sales coming in. Two important
aspects of business that are not always brought up, is profit and the costto operate the organization.
Often times managers only look at the net profit or net revenue on their Profit and Loss statements
without breaking down the numbers or cost of doing business. Even if an organization is successful
and has a great profit margin at the end of the month, quarter or year, does not mean they do not
need to analyze the cost of the operations. Analyzing those costscannot only help an organization
become profitable, when they are unprofitable, but can make them more profitable even if they
show a healthy profit. Finding ways to cut cost or become more efficient with the operations can
lead an organization in the right direction when it comes to their finances (Ahmed, S., 2016).
When small businesses are involved they need to pay close attention to their cost and controlling
their cost. Profit planning is one way to manage cost and use the budget to create ways for the
managers to recognize how to work cheaper and more efficiently. One small miss step with over
purchasing or overages on production time or inventory can cost a small business money, when this
happens it can directly affect their

What does Scout learn about Maycomb and its inhabitants during the trial? Through witnessing

Ewell, Tom Robinson, Dolphus Raymond and her own father, Atticus. Bob Ewell is the villain

his family. However, in the trial itself he is depicted as a very unpleasant person, not only by his

Prior to the trial, Scout only knows Dolphus Raymond through the rumours that revolve around
him: he always drinks whisky out of a sack which supposedly provides an explanation for why he
s got a coloured woman and all sorts of mixed chillum ; he owns all one side of a river bank...and
he s from a real old family to boot. But through meeting Dolphus with Dill, Scout is informed
that he pretends to be an alcoholic because it was the only way the Maycomb would accept him.
He says this was so because they could not grasp a sane white person ever living with coloured
folks. This interlude with Dolphus Raymond at the beginning of chapter 20 foreshadows Atticus
s views, expressed later, that black people are people like everyone else. Scout and the readers
learn that we shouldn t judge people by appearances. Although she judges Dolphus by his
reputation, her opinion changes after she has met him something that sadly the white jury of the
trial is incapable of doing regarding Tom Robinson. This scene underlines the prejudices of the
white community, with hints that if a white person loves a black person they have to have an
excuse for it and with Scout discovers more about the simple hell people give other people. The
trial reveals a lot of hidden traits of Atticus, even the littlest things seeming abnormal to Scout and

Blue Skies Irving Berlin Meaning
Blue Skies was one of the songs written by Irving Berlin months after the birth of his first child,
daughter Mary Ellin, in 1926. This piece came during a time of transition in Berlin s life, and the
song itself has transcend many centuries, adapting to the style of each time. It is important to
explore the differences between the periodical versions of BlueSkies ; however, the underlying
message of the song remains constant throughout time. The lyrics of Irving Berlin s Blue Skies

the song to portray a hopeful outlook toward the future, while it s depressing mood brings this hope

Symbolism In The Tell-Tale Heart
The effects of symbolism Many stories whether long or short generally have symbols with more
profound meanings. These symbols can impact and shape the story in various ways. The stories
read in class have great importance of symbols. In the short stories The Tell Tale Heart (TTH), by
Edgar Allen Poe and We can get that for you Wholesale (WCGTW), by Neil Gaiman the characters

Name: Institution: Course: Instructor: Date: The Conversion of Solar (PV) Energy into
Hydrogen Gas for Fuel Cells. Introduction Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems convert sunlight into
direct current. For this to be achieved, semi conducting materials would be required to induce
the photovoltaic effect. A photovoltaic system comprises solar panels, each fitted with a
number of solar cells that supply solar energy to the system. In the absence of sunlight, solar
power would be available for household or commercial lighting applications (Ratlamwala 86).
This paper examines the feasibility of converting solar PV electricity into hydrogen for fuel cells
based on: cost of hydrogen production (per kilogram), the quantity of solar power required to
generate hydrogen (per kilogram), the feasibility of the technology in the UAE amid the costs
and efficiencies of the system components. Question 1 Just like the rest of the world, the United
Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Middle East have intensified efforts to curb the global warming
menace. Several independent studies (e.g. Harder 790 Radhi 18) have pointed out that
overdependence on fossil fuels tends to heighten global warming. At a glance, hydrogen can be
considered as an ideal substitute to fossil fuels. Hydrogen provides about three times of renewable
energy harnessed from natural gas. When hydrogen is used in energy production, pure water is
emitted as the sole by product of the process (Radhi 12).

Paul Revere s Ride Essay
Many citizens living in America may have heard about the poem Paul Revere s ride on April 18,
1775. It was written by a famous American poet called Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, after 85
years of actual Paul Revere s ride . Paul Revere s Ride is one of the famous topics we can easily
found while studying 1700 s time of American History. Among, the recorded documents about
Paul Revere s ride there are two, the most famous documents, the one I just mentioned and Paul
Revere s letter to Jeremy Belknap . The poem Paul Revere s ride is also well known documents
about Paul Revere s ride, but Paul Revere s letter to Jeremy Belknap written by Paul Revere,

the part Listen, my children , you can notice that the actual speaker is twinkly eyed, and sharp

to a shout, having full of excitement every time, which may drop integrity by decreasing
concentration of the readers. Similarly, it s hard to suppose that all the facts in the poem are

when in fact Revere was captured outside of Lexington and never reached Concord although his
companion Dr. Prescott did. An unproved or false collective beliefs are being used to justify Paul

Under the Black Umbrella and Japanese Colonization of Korea
The Japanese occupied Korea in 1910 after many years of struggle between different countries.
Throughout the centuries there were multiple events that lead to this colonization. The events
became disordered in 1864, when King Kojong ascended to the throne. He was too young, so his
father Taewon gun became the de facto ruler. His goals were to re establish the power of the
government, develop a policy of national exclusionism and continue to persecute the Catholics.
During his rule, western men came in search of trade, but the Taewon gun refused them. Japan
repeatedly made attempts to establish political relations with Koreabut they continually refused. In
return the Japanese declared war on Korea. Meanwhile, the Taewon gun felt as if he... Show more

He says It was disgusting, I almost threw up. But when you are so hungry, what can you do? We
just ate the rest of the soup, (62). These farmers were slaves to the Japanese and were not getting

Japanese did not take control over Korea, then the Korean economy would have bankrupted without
such financial aid from Japan. In order for them to get out of their financial trouble the Japanese
helped Korea progress in agriculture, energy, transportation, communications systems, and
commercial distribution. The transformation process allowed Koreans to acquire more jobs and
perform other jobs more efficiently. The country was modernized with new roads, railroads, cable
lines and new schools.
In the beginning, modernization was not much of a positive idea. In the story of Kim Sangsun,
he discussed how he wanted to be a truck driver, but it was impossible for civilians to run their
own truck driving business. He stated this because, Japan had started the war with China and had
taken all of the available trucks to the front, (68). As the economy grew civilians were forced
away from their small farms to work in factories. Mainly the building of new transportation and
industry was designed to exploit Korean resources for the benefit of Japan. Since this was mainly
not beneficial to Koreans, this was a negative

Special Prison Populations
Corrections are an important part of the criminal justice system and they work in concert with
law enforcement and the courts. Citizens in the United States expect criminals to be monitored,
with some in secured facilities, so they will not fear of becoming continual victim of crime. To
illustrate this expectation further, there are 2.5 million individuals on probation or parole and 1
million individuals in jails or prisons (Morris Tonry, 2013, p. 370). However, does every individual
confined in jails and prisons still need to be there or is there a better way to deal with certain
special prisonpopulations? Due to the large number of prisoners within the correctional system,
certain special populations of inmates do not receive the rehabilitation or care needed to
successfully reintegrate back into society. Additionally, these special populations create an undue
burden on the correctional system in terms of financial costs associated with their confinement.
There are changes that can be made to the criminal justicesystem to accommodate special
populations of inmates. This paper will explore the alternative... Show more content on

Between 1900 and 2000, the life expectancy in this country has risen from 47 to 78 years of age
(Rikard Rosenberg, 2013, p. 404). Although the older population has grown from 4% to 13% in the
United States during the same period, the elder prison population has grown substantially. For
example, between 1994 and 1998, Texas saw an 86% increase in the elderly prison populations
while California expects to see a 200% increase by 2020 (Rikard Rosenberg, 2013, p. 404). When
determining the need to incarcerate an elderly individual, several costly considerations must be
made. Elderly inmates require more medical care compared to the younger prisoners and special
accommodations must be consider for older inmates (Rikard Rosenberg, 2013, p.

My Partner And I Chose The Film The Lion King
My partner and I chose the film The Lion King. This Disney animated feature from 1994 follows
the adventures of Simba, a young lion voiced by Jonathan Taylor Thomas (Home Improvement).
He is joined by his father, Mufasa voiced by the great James Earl Jones (Star Wars) and his
corrupt, uncle Scar who is voiced by one of the all time favorites Jeremy Irons (The Man from
the Iron Mask). Scar wants to be king and overthrow Mufasa and comes up with a plan to lure
Simba and his father into a stampede of wildebeests. Simba escapes, but his father Mufasa is
killed. Simba soon finds himself chased out of his kingdom and paired with two new friends
Timon and Pumbaa. His friends are Timon a meerkat voiced by Nathan Lane (The Producers)
and Pumbaa is a warthog voiced by Ernie Sabella (Mouse Hunt). The story ultimately leads to
Simba, now an adult being voiced by Matthew Broderick (Godzilla), returning to take back his
homeland back from Scar with the help of his friends. Of the characters in the film, we see
Simba and his friend Nala as lion cubs in the start of the film. Simba and Nala are both roughly
six to eight months old, which is roughly ten years old for humans. ( Animal Ages ). Simba, born
into privilege, is being groomed by his father in the beginning on how to rule his future kingdom.

they compare developmentally to the average ten year old. This age would put Simba and Nala in

Rudyard Oakman s Influence On An American Culture
Rudyard Coltman got his start at the Eltrym Theater in Baker City, OR. This tiny, pastel art deco
theater would be the jumping off point for a small business empire.
The year is 1975, and the film industry s catalyst is Steven Spielberg s Jaws. Millions of people
packed into air conditioned theaters to escape the summer heat, and thus the summer blockbuster,
and an American tradition, is born. Along with mall culture and fast food, summer movie going
seems inherent to the culture of the United States, indicative of the values of mass consumption as
well as the prioritization of convenience.
Enter another American value: fiscal localism. Also known as: Buy Local, Eat Local, Go Local.

Media Influence Media
How does the media influence elections and politics
During the past 20 years, the media has experienced massive changes in terms of the platforms it
appears in as well as the audience it reaches. While traditional forms of media such as
newspapers, television, are considered to be more controlled, with the newly occurring and vastly
growing online media, information reaches more people and in a rapid pace never seen before.
This essay will describe how new occurrences have gained media the power to actively re enforce
(however not to the extent of shaping) political public opinion.
Firstly, in order to understand the major influence that the media has on politics and elections, one
should understand what the term media includes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And usually, once the public deems certain issues as of most importance, they are quickly initiated
to legislature. Going back to the Cold Warand Vietnam, we can see how media coverage the
Vietnam War inspired peace movement activists to take over the streets and demand the withdrawal
of foreign (mostly American) troops from Vietnam.
Undeniably, political candidates and the media, have always had intense interactions. The world of
media and the world of politics have a symbiotic relationship ; without the media politicians would
find it extremely hard to make their voices heard, while the media has a duty of encouraging
democracy and people s involvement in important matters, therefore media s involvement in the
world of politics is inevitable.
Curran wisely said; Media owners and politicians are so interlocked (that) media can t be
independent (2002.) A.J. Liebling also expressed his disapproval with his words; Freedom of the
press is guaranteed only to those who own one.
Certainly, the changes in technology have affected our attention spans and focuses. News articles
are becoming shorter and are often dominated by visual content. Big fonts, bright and shocking
pictures win more clicks , and it is not rarely that images and videos of politicians/political events
are the centre of intense discussion. Research has shown that visual communication conveys

The Grapes Of Wrath And Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway
The mid twentieth century represents a turbulent period of history in the western world from the
devastating effects of the Great Depression that began in 1929 to the bloodshed of World War II,
people were forced to adapt to unfamiliar and changing circumstances. The effects of these events
were especially felt in the United States and Britain, and the two countries set the scene for John
Steinbecks The Grapes of Wrathand Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway. The Grapes of Wrath
recounts the tale of the Joad family, farm owners who, after being forced off their land by big
business, head west to California in search of work only to find discrimination and further
hardship. Their story exemplifies the struggles faced by low income families unequipped to deal
with the changing reality of the American economy and reveals the nature of big business and
unregulated capitalism. At first glance, it seems that Mrs. Dalloway tells a very different story.
Clarissa Dalloway, a wealthy London woman, is spending her day planning one of her extravagant
parties. Although its characters are not struggling to find their next meal, through a stream of
consciousness style and an array of unique and complex characters the novel tackles many of the
same problems seen in The Grapes of Wrath. As these two nations face and recover from their
respective crises, Steinbeck s The Grapes of Wrath and Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway highlight the
changing ways in which the American and British people interact with

Miasma, or bad air, is once thought to cause cholera during the cholera epidemic of the 19th
century (Cholera epidemics in the 19th century, n.d.). Epidemiologist John Snow disproved the
widely popular miasma belief and cholera is now understood to be an infectious disease caused by
the bacterium Vibrio cholerae (Tuthil, 2003). V. cholerae is a Gram negative, monotrichous bacillus
bacterium. Epidemic choleracan only be caused by two serogroups, serogroups O1 and serogroup
O139 Vibrio cholerae (Finkelstein, 1996). Cholera is transmitted by the fecal oral route through the

everyone. The IMU was heavily involved with organizing many of the firms and institutions in
the area and was active in local politics. They had represented the workers at the large auto parts

and majority rule for determining whether a firm s employees were to unionize; and (3) creating

The Taft Hartley Act (Labor Management Relations Act) was passed in 1947. This act prohibited
union unfair labor practices and lists the rights of employees as union members and rights of
employers. The First Amendment permits both employers and employees to exercise free speech
by electioneering during union organization.
As the study guide states, statute and case law have defined a series of unfair practices that
employers and unions may not engage in during electioneering for a union certification election.
Some unfair employer labor practices include 1) interference with union organizing efforts, 2)
interference with employees efforts for mutual aid, 3) tion of a labor organization, 4) support for

Grade Retention Controversy
Grade retention, better known as staying back , being held back or repeating , has been the topic of
much debate within the educational system. The controversy which surrounds this long standing
issue has been reinforced by such topics as the recent endorsement of academic standards.
Research indicates that the rate of retention has increased by approximately 40% in the last 20
years with as many as 15% of all American studentsheld back each year and 30 50% held back at
least once before ninth grade (Dawson, 1998). These discouraging statistics pose copious problems

Annually, it is estimated that roughly 15% of students are retained, representing approximately
2.4 million children (Jimerson, 2001; Mattison, 2000). In general, children who repeat a grade
are 30% more likely to drop out of school as compared to their promoted peers and the retention
trend is increasing, up approximately 12% from 1980 to 1992 (Owings amp; Magliaro, 1998).
Retained students have an approximately 60% chance of dropping out of school by the 12th
grade and those students who have been retained twice increase their chance to 90% (Parker,
2001). Rumberger (1995) identified grade retention as the single most powerful predictor of
dropping out. It is estimated that 40% of the total number of repeaters are from the lowest SES
brackets compared to only 8.5% from the highest SES groups (Owings amp; Magliaro, 1998).
Research by Meisels (1993) discovered that more than two thirds of all retentions occur before
fourth grade. These discouraging statistics also come at an enormous expense; grade retention costs
approximately 10 billion dollars per year (Natale, 1991).
To counteract the discouraging data about grade retention, many school systems have instilled the
policy of social promotion. The recent negativism surrounding the tradition of repeating a grade
portends a return to social promotion. Social promotion, the antithesis of grade retention, is the
automatic passing of a student on to the next grade at the end of the school year, despite his or her

This quote was said right before the narrator and Tyler engaged into a fight. This quote was the

lost a form of his power by listening to what Tyler had told him. The narrator had the option of
being independent by not hitting Tyler and engaging into a fight, but the power Tyler had over
him was overbearing for him to stop. Once the narrator asks Tyler to stay at his home, this is a
defining moment of where Tyler has more control of the narrator by letting him into his home.
This moment also shows how the narrator is losing power by moving into the house of the man

Essay On Similarities Between The Rome And Han Dynasty
Rome and China were some of the oldest and most well known countries in the ancient world. The
Han dynasty was a long lasting dynasty in China s history, and the Roman Empire had a long and
strong rule. Like the rules of these empires, the falls of these empires were very impressive. Several
similarities to the falls of these empires are apparent. One is the fact that they were both invaded by
other tribes that threatened their power. Another was the government corruption that weakened
them from the inside. And the last, yet very common is historical societies was taxes and economic
reasons.
Apparent strongly in both empires near the end was invading tribes. The Roman Empire had been
suffering from intrusions by German tribes for many centuries. They had both endured many wins
and defeats until one force would scatter and weaken the roman empire once and for all. The
deciding force in this scenario was the Huns. Afraid that the Huns would attack them, the Germans
sought refuge in the Roman Empire, with Rome begrudgingly agreeing to let them settle on some
empty land. Neither side held up the bargain, however, and they ended up fighting in 378 C.E. in
the battle of Adrianople. This battle was considered as one of the most decisive battles in history.
The Huns also effected the Chinese in the Han dynasty as well, in a way. These battles took place in
the Han Xiongnu War. Starting around 133 B.C.E., the Xiongnu fought the Han in the western area

When commercial television is discussing and prevailing such dominant discourses about ideas of
marriage, terrorism, socio economic statuses, mental health, politics and other cultures, it has the
ability to disempower difference through only explaining these issues from one view point of

other cultures can misguide Australian attitudes and viewpoints, to further reaffirm certain
prejudices or biases by only being exposed to the negative actions of a group (Jacobs Kershen
2011). This Symbolic violence can describe minorities in a way that leaves them voiceless,
ignored and condemned through media and the views of larger society (Venzo Hess 2013). When
ethnic minorities are shown in a prominent role on commercial television or a news segment, it is
usually in relation to crime and disorder or from being a perceived social threat to the Australian
culture or way of life (Phillips 2011). Although all broadcastingmedia need to follow protocols
within their policies to avoid representing ethnic and religious communities in ways that are
discriminatory within their practice, it is still conducted in a way that disempowers these
communities and maintains the prejudices against them (Phillips 2011). An example of this is how

Currently, the curriculum implemented throughout Farmington Municipal Schools District for the
multiply impaired special education programs fails to effectively equip students in the area of life
skills and other areas of development such as sensory, fine motor and gross motor. It relies heavily
on worksheets, which focus on the subjects of math and reading. While basic math problems and
phonics and phonemic awareness are essential to a student s academic development, such skills
cannot be mastered by students severely disabled and there is nothing offered in the curriculum for
students who are blind, autistic or suffering from a severe neurological disorder (Comprehensive

Shared reading, for example, is an integral part of an instructional routine in which the students
and teacher interact. In other words, it does not require the use of a student s hand to use a pencil
or crayon. Instead, every student would be able to share the reading of a text with the support of
the teacher. The teacher would read aloud using vocal expression while students follow along
either by listening or following along while holding a book (Comprehensive Curriculum, 2015).
While a supplemental curriculum would need to be designed in order to meet the needs of every
student within a special education room, there may be some resistance from the district, as they
prefer all teachers to use a universal curriculum and not individualize it. However, due to the fact
that not all students have the same disability or limitations, they cannot be expected to participate
in a universal curriculum, as it will be limited in its ability to accommodate for every student s
individual needs (An Introduction,

Jackson Pollock Research Paper
The abstract expressionist whose work I admire the most is the work of Jackson Pollock. He
was born on January 28, 1912 in Cody, Wyoming. He was an influential American Painter, and
the leading force behind the abstract expressionist movement in the art world (Barbara Moore).
When Pollock was 8, his father, who was an abusive alcoholic, left the family, and Pollock s
older brother, Charles, became like a father to him. While the family was living in Los Angeles,
Pollock discovered his passion for art. After some time Pollock became addicted to drinking. He
tried to resolve his problems by working to keep him busy. But despite being busy with work,
Pollock could not stop drinking. In 1942, Pollock met Lee Krasner, a Jewish contemporary artist
and an established painter, at a party. She later visited Pollock at his studio and was impressed with
his art. They soon became... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But fame was not good for Pollock. Having troubles with close friends and the public he instead,
went back to drinking heavily. Concerned for Pollock s well being, Krasner called on Pollock s
mother to help. Her presence helped to stabilize Pollock, and he began to paint again
(Biography.com). He completed his masterpiece, The Deep, during this period. But as the demand
from collectors for Pollock s art grew, so too did the pressure he felt, and with it his alcoholism.
Overwhelmed with Pollock s needs, Krasner was also unable to work. Their marriage became
troubled, and Pollock s health was failing (John Seed). By 1956, he had quit painting, and his
marriage was basically ruined. Krasner left for Paris to give Pollock space. Just after 10 p.m. on
August 11, 1956, Pollock, who had been drinking, crashed his car into a tree less than a mile from
his home. Pollock was thrown 50 feet into the air and into a birch tree. He died immediately

Pros And Cons Of Global Corruption
Global Corruption
Corruption can be defined as the abuse of entrusted power for private gain. It can be classified as
grand, petty and political, depending on the amounts of money lost and the sector where it occurs.
Bribery, extortion and embezzlement are the three principle versions of corruption. For instance,
an employee of a firm who is in charge of purchasing functions takes some amount of money from
a supplier (bribery), in which that same employee ensures the payment for the products to be above
the usual price. Then the residuary amount between the actual price and the turgid price after
bribery would get siphoned off by the employee and the supplier (embezzlement). If it s the case of
political corruption, an exemplifying scenario can be, some government officials use their positions
to extort payments from some government regulated firms. Expectably, economic corruption
impairs development and political corruption depraves prospering governance. Unfortunately, both
of these types of corruption continuously persist all around the world .
Every year, Transparency Internationalpublishes a Global Corruption Index analyzing each country
s projected corruption predicated on the scope of bribery, illegitimate government expenditures and
absence of anti corruption regulations . For the last few decades, some countries have been
continuously occupying the end of the list together. By the end of last year, the top three most
corrupted countries were Afghanistan, Somalia and North Korea. Almost all of Afghanistan s
widespread corruption is connected to misuse of aid money that was provided to the country by
international entities. The Afghan government in 2012 promised to put efforts to diminish the
problem, however because of the fact that public officials are the largest beneficiaries from
corruption, there is not much of significant improvements has been made towards corruption
reduction . Somalia has experienced similar issues as well. One of the World Bank reports showed
that within the matter of 2 years, the aid money that Somalia received which is around $130
million . Furthermore, Somalia s private companies have been reportedly paying certain fees to the
government officials in exchange of

My First Year Of Running Track
Seventh grade, a time of adolescence, an awkward period in which we start growing from a kid to a
young adult, in which the mature person hasn t kicked in yet. A period in time to try new things
and it was my first year of running track. One reason I decided to join was because I had a passion
for sports (mostly basketball), and my best friends convinced me join the team and if I didn t I
would probably be hanging out by myself after school. Three of my best friends consisted of
Dekembae but we called him DK for short, Minkyu, and Jay. Dekembae was mixed kid who had a
single braid on his head which would often be called a turd . Minkyu was Korean, and was often
made fun of by the shape of his head which was square, and Jay who was also Korean was so short
he would often get confused for a fourth grader. Then there was me an average height kid full of
baby teeth, and full of jokes. Dating back to a cloudy, and gloomy school day in middle school I
started to feel very sick. It felt as if someone was doing jumping jacks inside my stomach, and I
had a headache the size of a grapefruit. After school I gear up to go to track practice thinking I
would take it easy, however my track coach had a different plan in mind. He announces that we
are going to be walking over to Crissy field to run from the beginning to the end of the trail, and
back. Being the naive kid I am, I feel as if I could make it there and back, not knowing the run
would be almost four and a half miles long ! The

My Internship With Battle Born Progress
Administrative Intern: My Internship with Battle Born Progress
As an administrative intern for Battle Born Progress, I ve developed a plethora of professional
skills that have facilitated my understanding on how the political process works, particularly with
campaigns. In the early part of my internship, I was learning the organizational structure of Battle
Born Progress as a public relations firm. As a non profit organization, Battle Born Progress seeks to
strengthen the progressive community of Nevada through strategic communications and
mobilization techniques in order to provide a fair opportunity for everyone to succeed. Since
other organizations recognize the public relations value of Battle Born Progress, they will often
times compensate Battle Born Progress in exchange for running their social media accounts. As an
administrative intern, I was primary in charge of running social media for Battle Born Progress
and its partners. Although the first couple of weeks were challenging, I became confident in my
ability to effectively communicate the appropriate message to each of our partner s social media
accounts. Furthermore, since this was an election year, I was taught a combination of
administrative and campaign skills. This paper will be examining the chronological order of my
internship at Battle Born Progress from August of 2016 to December of 2016.
In the first couple days of my internship, I was learning how to properly use social media using

Mary Bethune The Road To Education
The Road to Education Mary Bethune once said, The drums of Africa still beat in my heart.
They will not let me rest while there is a single negro boy or girl without a chance to prove his
worth. On July 10, 1875 in South Carolina an inspiration was born upon us. Out of the 17
siblings, she was the 15th. Mary s parents were former slaves so she was raised in poverty. She
was the first of her family to attend school. Her teacher, Miss Wilson, inspired her to grow into
more education. Thats where we will begin, with her beginning road to education. Mary Bethune
was a black rights activist and fought for women s rights. In other words she stood for black

Models Of Development Effort Estimation
Models of Development Effort Estimation
Introduction
Development effort estimation is often among the first steps when considering a software
engineering project. Estimation is crucial for determining the value of a project: whether it will be
a project that is able to be completed, a project that is worth pursuing, and a project that is
economically justified. A reasonable and informed cost estimate can only be reported to a customer
after effort estimation analysis has been performed.
Formal models, created to improve the accuracy of effort estimation, date back as early as the
1960s when computer software was still in its youth. In recent decades, more flexible alternatives
to the hard and fast formal models have been offered. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

New techniques simply haven t improved the results much. Jorgensen says that comparisons
between estimation accuracy between now and the 1980s show about the same figures.3
There are two main categories of software development effort estimation: model based estimation
and expert judgment, with model based estimation often broken up into subcategories. The first part
of this paper will discuss the most traditional techniques for model based estimation using statistical
regression analysis. Then, the value of expert analysis will be discussed. Next, newer methods of
modeling and estimating development effort will be examined, followed by a look at effort
estimation in the agile field.
Early Models: Regression and Function Point Analysis
Model based effort estimation for software development began with research conducted in the mid
sixties identifying characteristics of software projects. At first, partial models based on the
researched attributes were used. Software development was still young and the push for efficiency
in software creation had not caught up to the focus on hardware. As software complexity continued
to rise in the seventies, more advanced and complicated models were produced.4
Parametric regression models are among the earliest types of models used for software effort
estimation.5 They have also been one of the most studied

Battle Of Midway Essay
Define the Battle (who, when, where) On June 4, 1942, only six months after the Japanese attack
on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, the United States defeated Japan throughout a 4 day battle
(until June 7) in one of the most decisive naval battles of World War II. This battle s location was
primarily the island of Midway Atoll, which is roughly 1,300 miles northwest of Oahu, Hawaii.
Recognitions in part to major advances in code breaking, the United Stateswas able to preempt and
counter Japan s planned ambush of its few remaining aircraft carriers, inflicting permanent damage
on the Japanese Navy. An important turning point in the Pacific campaign, the victory allowed the
United States and its allies to move into an offensive position.
The Mission
One of Japan s main goals during WWII was to remove the United States as a Pacific power in
order to gain territory in East Asia. Japan hoped to defeat the US Pacific Fleet and use Midway as a

You might think of this as The Battle of Midway, Round Two. Fought near the island of Saipan
in the Marianas group, the Battle of the Philippine Sea set the rebuilt Japanese carrier force,
commanded by Vice Admiral Jisaburo Ozawa, against Admiral Spruance s Fifth Fleet. Both
navies had studied the Battle of Midway, and both had learned from it, but it was only the U.S.
Navy that had created a carrier force that could advance deep into enemy territory and defeat
both land based and carrier based air forces. In two days of multiple air battles, the Japanese lost
over 90% of the aircraft that they had used against Spruance s carriers and surface ships.
Philippine Sea was the last gasp of the Japanese fleet s carrier aviators. At the end of October
1944, after its defeat at the Battle of Leyte Gulf, the Japanese navy began using kamikaze (suicide)
attacks in an effort to compensate for the defeat of its carrier

Compare And Contrast The Sniper And Where Have You Gone...
Copious bullets, like that of torrential downpour, reign over the battlefield; a setting in which man
created through dispute, engulfs each and every individual caught within it. Some are immediately
spun into a downward spiral, while with others, it hits them in the midst even if they have built an
immunity to wars ways. Two fictional characters, both sharing a similar atmosphere, experience the
true affects to warin their own ways. Although war never changes, the individuals do, no matter the
situation. This is exemplified through the fictional tales, told by Liam O Flaherty s The Sniper, as
well as Tim O Brien s Where Have You Gone Charming Billy, and as the main characters are to
each their own story, they bear contradistinction to one another in the aspect of war, personality, and

War covets the aspect of man that is man itself, for it craves to morph them into mere objects and
targets. For many soldiers, they succumb to such a fate; being depleted their ability to feel
immediate emotion, they develop primitive, animalistic urges of bloodlust during a time of
bloodshed. The aspects of war gravely impacts a person, and as such can be seen in O Flaherty s
character the sniper, as well as seen in O Brien s character Private Paul Berlin. The sniper is a
victim to the war s cold, emotionless embrace. A Republican soldier, he is, divided from his
brothers in arms on the other side, the ones called the Free Staters. Nonetheless, under the
circumstances, they all are pawns to Dublin s chess table of a civil war, being played at the mercy

A Evolution Of The Late Jurassic
Charophytes are green algae that have been found in fresh water to moderately brackish water
environments. Their gyrogonites are minute oval or round calcareous bodies that represent the
calcified parts of the oogonium i. e. the female reproductive organs. Most of the plant consists of
organic matter that decays shortly after death. Under some circumstances the stems and branches
of the plant become calcified and are also preserved in the geologic record. In the absence of the
planktonic and benthonic foraminifers, ostracodes and charophytes becomes valuable
biostratigraphic tool for geologic analysis and interpretation (Carbonel, 1988; Colin Lethiers, 1988;
Martin Closas Schudack, 1996, Schudack, 2000 2006). Moreover the charophytes have been the
focus of intensive work since the early 1960, since it was hope to obtain valuable information on the
dating, biostratigraphic and paleoecology of the strata (Schudack, 2002 2004). The present study
attempts a comprehensive biostratigraphic evolution of the Late JurassicEarly Cretaceoussequence
at Messak escarpment based on the stratigraphic distribution of the charophytes species as this
type of microfossils have not been studied before in Libya as well as the study area has never
been studied for charophytes beforehand. On the basis of the stratigraphic distribution of
charophytes it is possible to subdivide the Late Jurassic Early Cretaceoussequence into four
assemblage zones. These are described in ascending

Gambling Should be Legalized.
Gambling should be legalized
What is gambling? According to www.dictionary.com gambling is taking a risk in the hope of
gaining an advantage or a benefit. Gambling has been around for centuries and has been dated
way back to 1492. People have been gambling in America ever since America was found. There
are numerous underground cards clubs and casinos all over the country and in major cities.
People gamble on everything: sports evens, dice, and cards. Even though people gamble every
day in the United States, it is still illegal. People do gamble everyday, so why is it not legal.
Gambling should be legalized.
There are tons of ways to gamble. Anybody can pretty much gamble or make a bet on anything.
Some major games though are cards. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gambling is the only thing that is going for Las Vegas. With out gambling no one would go, and
look at how much money Las Vegas is bring in off of the tourists coming from all over the world,
all because of gambling.
So when people do gamble where does the money go? Where gambling in legal money gets
divided up. 84% returned to the public, 15% for commission, and 1% breakage or surplus
(Freeman 167). This shows that at the racetracks 84% go back to the people who are gambling,
15% goes to the brokers, and 1% is the breakage or surplus. That is how the money works in the
racetracks. Each state deals with the money differently though.
These percentages include the deductions for monies for both Track and State. Each state has laws
specifying the division of this percentage between Track and State. Some states use a sliding scale.
The higher the volume of business, the higher the percentage paid to the state (Freeman 166).
As shown here the state taxes are included. Also, commission is used in all racetracks, and this
provided jobs for many people.
Another good reason why gambling should be legalized is because people can make a ton of
money. If people would be smart about things they could maximizes their profits. These people
are called pros. Professional poker players, like Johnny Moss, make all their money from playing
cards. Gambling, if done right, can be easy pickings for people.

Is Homicide Ever Justified Essay
Is homicide ever justified? Ordinarily no, but in certain circumstances committing a homicide can
be excused due to insanity or be justified because the situation called for self defense or the
defense of others. As with many aspects of the law, there can be ambiguity present about whether
or not a crime meets the criteria of an excuse or justification, as we have seen in the State v.
Norman 378 S.E.2d 8 (1989) case. At issue in the case is whether the danger that the defendant,
Judy Ann Laws Norman, felt was imminent in order to justify the homicide she committed when
she shot her husband. I believe Norman s actions were justified when she shot her husband given
the extensive instances of domestic abuse that her husband inflicted on her over the course of the

Does the store clerk go to prison for manslaughter? Let s break this situation down into its smaller
parts to better understand why this hypothetical situation is clear cut self defense. The threat was
imminent and present as soon as the perpetrator threatened the clerk and the threat continued to
exist throughout the entire situation until the perpetrator was killed. The perception of the threat
was reasonable since any reasonable person would feel in danger if someone brandished a gun at
them. Finally, the store clerk was entitled to use deadly force to defend himself since the
perpetrator was using deadly force as leverage in the situation. In conclusion, the situation contains
all of the elements of self defense and the store clerk cannot face legal repercussions for the death
of the perpetrator. In my analysis of the homicide that took place in the State v. Norman 378 S.E.2d
8 (1989) case, I find that the situation that occurred is analogous to the store clerk versus the

3 aspects of my soul which I used as the inspiration for my sculpture; responsibility, creativity, and
perfectionist. To demonstrate responsibility, my sculpture has a supporting like figure on one side
which is situated to support the free flowing structure of the leaf like figure on the other side. It
resembles an open hand and which is there to protect the leaf structure from falling over before it

For one, its positioning across the leaf structure was effective at depicting it as a precaution. The
leaf like structure seems to be growing and moving with its free flowing layers, and so the hand
seems to be on the opposite side to prevent the layers from overgrowing and falling under their
own weight. The space between the two objects however indicates that the leaf structure hasn t
fully grown, and so the support is situated there before they reach that length. Secondly, the form
of the hand is very thick and its base extends outwards from the main base, giving it a strong and
stable form which makes it efficient as a support. To a certain degree, this represents the
preparedness required for one to be responsible. Finally, the monochromatic red violet with a
darkly shaded base demonstrates the fixated structure. The black represents the part where the
structure is connected to the ground, which effectively portrays it as a supportive structure. The
colour, form and position of the structure portrays responsibility as it is a precaution and supports
the creative side of me without letting it overgrow and become too drastic, which is one thing I
believe was effective in my

Here Comes Your Man Analysis
When an album enters into the realm of reverence, it is attached with an increasingly difficult to
break shield. The idea that an album established as great could have any sort of faults becomes
something to be scoffed at or ignored. We lose the ability to critique when some sort of consensus
has been achieved. The critical hivemind encourages us to move forward and accept the established
masterpieces as masterpieces. And without a potential for hindsight, the worst portions of albums
belonging to this universal canon are left without scrutiny. This is not to say that a classic album is
automatically bad when it contains a weak moment, either. Though it certainly brings the album in
question down to a level that keeps it away from the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Here Comes Your Man pulls off its musical and lyrical simplicity, La La Love You is so
bogged down by keeping it simple that it is falling apart from the very beginning. Some may say
that the sexually simple Hot Freaks is the weak point of GBV s 1994 lo fi classic, but the
misguided swagger and self confidence guides the flow of the other opening tracks well enough.
This song, which would work better split into three different songs placed elsewhere on the album,
brings the momentum of Bee Thousand to a halt. It s something of a riff on a Post Punk sound, but
bookended by a drum loop on one end and a sitar inflected verse on the other. The drastic difference
between the three sections feels rushed and incomplete certainly something that Guided by Voices
is familiar with, but the strength of their greatest albums allows these incomplete tracks to hide
behind the bigger songs. The stretch of songs between A Good Flying Bird and Closer You Are on

manner that enhances the songs as much as

National Security Vs Homeland Security
The difference between national security and homeland security seems to be ambiguous after

national security. From my perspective, homeland security, falls within the purview of a larger
capacity of national security. Both national securityand homeland security seeks to protect and
defend the nation s interest. One of the goals of national security is to thwart our enemies agenda
by preventing the enemies from threatening the United States, and its partners with weapons of
mass destruction, whereas one of the goals of homeland security is to Protect the United States

  • 3. The Fate Of The Corps Lewis E. Morris novel, The Fate of the Corps: What Became of the Lewis and Clark Explorers after the Expedition, encompasses the events that had preceded Lewis and Clark s expedition of the American West. Readers of diverse backgrounds have read Morris book and have produced reviews for those seeking insight of his book. These reviews vary from those written by and for scholars, and those written for the everyday reader interested in Morris book. By reading multiple scholarly reviews of Morris novel, one can become acquainted with the various differences and similarities between reviews provided by those with reputable background knowledge on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. It is evident that the two scholarly reviews by Jay Buckley... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Guice provides readers with brief, focused summaries and criticisms of the information that he found to be noteworthy. In contrast, Buckley reviews the book as a whole without delving too far into specific details. A part from how these two reviews are organized, both authors introduce the subject at hand very similarly. The first topic mentioned in both reviews is the difficulty that must be met when researching and writing information on about thirty different people. For example, Guice begins his review by stating, It must be difficult to find a book more appropriately titled or challenging to organize. Thirty three people including Sacagawea, her mixed blood infant Jean Baptist Charbonneau, and William Clark s slave York... (Guice 678). Buckley writes a similar introduction that states, Other than a few biographies on the principal characters of the Corps of Discovery, knowing what happened to the other three dozen individuals after their return has been piecemeal at best and haphazard at worst. (Buckley 99). Both authors introduce their reviews on the same topic, and how they write their introductory statements sets the tone for the rest of the review. These elements in both reviews are reiterated in their conclusions which as coincidentally are as both similar to each other as their introductions are. Both Buckley and Guice begin to end their reviews with specific criticisms they have with Morris book, and finally conclude their reviews by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Secession Of The United States In November, 1860, Abraham Lincoln was elected U.S. President with only 40 per cent of the popular vote. South Carolina had threatened to secede from the Union if Lincoln won the election. The state made good their threat by seceding from the Union on December 20, 1860. Mississippi and Florida followed in early January, 1861. The Alabama State Legislature directed Governor A. B. Moore to call a state convention in Montgomery on January 7, 1861, to debate the question of secession from the Union. On January 11, after four days of hot debate, an ordinance of secession was adopted by a vote of 61 39 and Alabama became the fourth state to secede from the Union. The two delegates from Lauderdale County voted against secession as did most of the delegates from North Alabama. Anticipating secession, several counties in North Alabama, East Tennessee, North Georgia, and North Mississippi talked of forming a neutral state called Nickajack if secession passed. Nothing came of the talk. However thousands of Alabamians, mostly from the northern counties, enlisted in the Union Army. There were six white Union regiments raised in Alabama: 1st Alabama Cavalry, 1st Heavy Artillery Battery, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Infantry Regiments. Many others left the state to join Union units, or they joined Union units as they passed through the state. Many former Lauderdale County slaves left their owner s plantation and joined U.S. regiments (i.e., the U.S. 111th Regiment of Colored ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Red Figure Technique ( Herakles And The Nemean Lion ) Although these two vessels, one in the Black figure technique (Theseus and the Minotaur) and the other in Red figure technique (Herakles and the Nemean Lion), have very distinct styles and techniques, they also have key similarities, that with closer analysis, reveal more about Greek values than was originally known. Showing us how Greek art had not only developed over time, but also providing an understanding as to why Greeksfound scenes of heroes battling monsters so popular. However, before we can begin to discuss why Greeks found scenes of heroes battling monsters so popular, we must first explore the two vessels individually (without the artwork). Firstly, the Black figure jar (Theseus and the Minotaur). With further research, we find the title of this work is, Attic Black Figure Neck Amphora, and it is attributed to Group E (workshop of Exekias), dated approximately 550 B.C.E. Athens, Greece. The medium is terracotta, and it is an amphora, meaning a storage jar, most likely used to store wine or oil. Similarly, the Red figure jar (Herakles and the Nemean Lion) was also made of terracotta, but instead of storing wine or oil, it is said to have been a hydria, meaning it was more like a water pitcher. Titled the Attic Red Figure Kalpis , we find that the artist was probably an Aegisthus painter, who lived in Athens, Greece, around 470 B.C.E. As previously stated, both vessels were terracotta jars, however, in order to achieve the black figure, and red figure ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Our Group Formation By Frank H. Bouldin Our group formation was initiated around two weeks before the tipping point project was assigned. Dylan Thorpe had just presented his personal project, a remote controlled P 51 based off of the historic P 51 named Dallas Doll that was flown by Frank H. Bouldin. At the end of the school day Dylan gave a demonstration flight for his R/C, around one hundred and fifty people came to watch the ten minute long flight. The following Monday while he was riding home on the bus he realized how he could adapt his personal project into a tipping point project. He brought up his idea with Kyran McLeod, a fellow R/C pilot whose personal project had been an R /C quadcopter. Kyran had attended Dylan s demonstration flight the week before, helping out with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Any other option would take time to plan and put into practice, time that we would not be able to spare if we were going to gather data and then complete the three requirements of the Tipping Point project on time. After we were informed that the project would require a second option we decided that selling papercraft models would be a possibility. The problem with the papercraft models being that they take a large amount of time to create and they re relatively valueless to the market of high school scholars in which they would be distributed. The high schoolers that would be in our market most likley aren t very interested in paper aircraft models. As stated in Gladwell s book The Tipping Point, The messenger matters: messengers are what makes something spread. But the content of the message matters too. (Gladwell, 92). We figured that remote controlled aircraft would be significantly stickier than small paper aircraft. A second problem would be the cost of producing the models, not only would it take a new sheet of paper per model, it would also use a large amount of toner, a resource that isn t exactly cheap. We decided that the success of their project would be measured by the amount of people who came to watch the show. David would use a counting tool to measure this variable, then we would use this data to decide whether or not people lost interest in the airshows over time, or if it ... • 7. Appiah The Ethics Of Identity Written by Ghanaian American philosopher Kwame Anthony Appiah, The Ethics of Identity distinctively examines the true meanings of heavy and often abstract social topics such as individuality and identity by constantly referring to John Stuart Mill s philosophical yet liberal concepts and ideas. Although the book contains a narrative side, it also has a formation of arguments that precisely present Appiah s points. The idea that we search and pursue our individuality in the world that shapes us is one that Appiah tends to focus on throughout the text. In relation to the idea of identity, this essay will explore and connect Appiah and Mill s views on this idea to one of, if not the most, influential musical composers in history: Ludwig Van... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Basically, a selfish form of individualism is possible, and some people may have an identity that only benefits their own desires. One may consider Beethoven s personal individuality to be rather selfish. Sure, Beethoven influenced music as he made it transition from the classical era to the romantic era, and he was the bridge between the two worlds. However, it is arguable that he composed his well known and ground breaking music only to satisfy himself as he was an unmarried man who always lived alone His lack of normal interaction made him a miserable man. The clear connection between Beethoven s deafness and Appiah is that sometimes identity is a concept that we can t always choose. It can sometimes come to us as we continue on with life, so we have to accept our fate. An example of this would be when Appiah mentioned how John Mill fell in love with a married woman named Harriet Taylor. She understood him because she, herself, was also a philosopher. Mill and Taylor had a platonic relationship that lasted for 20 years, but after her husband died, they lived together as a man and a woman by marriage for a few decades. Furthermore, although Beethoven fell in love with multiple young women (who were his music students), the most notable one was yet another married woman named Antonie Brentano. She was the only woman as far as we know ever to return Beethoven s love. This brings me to the point that both Beethoven and Mill didn t choose who they fell in love with. Nobody would have planned to fall in love with another man s wife and spend the next two decades in a nerve racking mГ©nage Г trois. (6). Appiah is saying that sometimes plans that an individual makes in life don t always work out. They can go against a person s true, and falling in love is something one can t ... • 8. The Pros And Cons Of The Human Genome Project In this essay I am going to be talking about what the Human Genome Project is and how it has benefited society. (3)The Human Genome project focuses on identifying, sequencing and mapping all genes in the human body. Also to develop faster methods for sequencing DNA. It is an international research project that celebrated its 27th anniversary on 1 October 2017. In comparison, the Human Genome Project can be compared to the Apollo project which brought humanity to the moon. (3)The idea of the Human Genome Project came from an undergraduate researcher for the Thomas Hunt Morgan lab called Alfred Sturtevant, who, in 1911, had to map the genes of fruit flies so that he could manage his data. This would then mean that the Morgan lab can track the results through generations of scientists because they would have his results which they could compare future experiments to. This would then lead to the results being more accurate as they would have a set of results to relate to once they have completed the experiments. Therefore, this would mean that it would make their results would be more reliable. (3)The Human Genome Project has revealed that there are around 20, 500 genes in the human body. Because of this, the whole sequence of genes in the human body can be used to identify the locations of other genes in the human body. This would lead to scientists having a better understanding of how many genes are in the human body. Therefore it would suggest that the sequence of genes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, these early accelerated preschool programs do not necessarily guarantee future academic success. Lois Nelson argued that accelerate cognitive developmental program could indeed produce short term gains, but these gains can t maintain for the longer term. Even worse, any benefits of acceleration were shortly retained only in childhood year, but this will make effects on decreasing motivation for learning in later life (Nelson, 1973, p. 257). Beyond being fun for children, make believe play has been considered as a necessary early childhood activity. During playing, kids pretend different roles, and they may need to incorporate with others to imagine various circumstances and regulate themselves by following rules of the game scene. In Flannery O Connor s two short stories, Good Country People and A Good Man is Hard to Find , Marxist and feminist aspects of both pieces are prominent in how the protagonist women and antagonist men reaffirm these perspectives. For example, the grandmother and Hulga represents a delusional upper class that views itself differently from the rest of the world, and the Misfit along with Manley Pointer represent the masculine reality to that delusion. The grandmother s family represents the way things actually are and serve as a scapegoat for her to pass judgment on, whereas Mrs. Freeman, the housekeeper from Good Country People concentrates on the ghastly reality that the supposed good country people idealize. Their feelings of isolation coupled with the two s moral superiority complexes make them supremely scathing women to be reckoned with, and most of the words that come out of their mouth are harsh with little regard to how their ill chosen words affect others. However, one stark difference separates the two characters. Hulga possesses an insane amount of knowledge and has no one to converse with. Her mother and Mrs. Freeman would both rather entertain platitudes about the good country life than be involved in stimulating conversation about anything of interest to Hulga. • 12. A Primate s Memoir, By American Biologist (1)The book, A Primate s Memoir, by American biologist, Robert Sapolsky is divided into four parts. These four parts detail the stages of both his research of the behavior of a troop of African baboons and his unintentional research of human behavior as to himself through his encounters and experiences as a young researcher in Kenya, Africa for the first time. Sapolsky names the four parts of his book to describe the four stages of a baboons growth. Ultimately, these parts also reflect Sapolsky s personal growth and transformation as he journeys through Africa and studies the baboon troop. Since, at the outset of his research, the baboons he will study seem to be around this age, Part 1 is labeled The Adolescent Years . As he is both a rather naГ Їve and untested young man as well as a new researcher on his first trip to Kenya, these are also adolescent years for Sapolsky. In his youthful inexperience and naivete, he manages to get kidnapped and become broke, homeless, and scammed out of money by people falsely claiming they were in need. As with the baboons, for Sapolsky, adolescence is a rough journey but lessons learned the hard way are an effective means of instilling an understanding that one s ability to survive depends on an ability to comprehend how one s environment operates and must be navigated. In the end, lessons learned in adolescence help provide the guidelines and skills for coping with future challenges that both primates and their descendants are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Different Aspects That Go Into Making A Business... There are many different aspects that go into making a business successful. Businesses need a strong vision, great leaders within the organization, strong sales, a successful sales team, a steady stream of revenue as well as a way to produce the revenue or sales coming in. Two important aspects of business that are not always brought up, is profit and the costto operate the organization. Often times managers only look at the net profit or net revenue on their Profit and Loss statements without breaking down the numbers or cost of doing business. Even if an organization is successful and has a great profit margin at the end of the month, quarter or year, does not mean they do not need to analyze the cost of the operations. Analyzing those costscannot only help an organization become profitable, when they are unprofitable, but can make them more profitable even if they show a healthy profit. Finding ways to cut cost or become more efficient with the operations can lead an organization in the right direction when it comes to their finances (Ahmed, S., 2016). When small businesses are involved they need to pay close attention to their cost and controlling their cost. Profit planning is one way to manage cost and use the budget to create ways for the managers to recognize how to work cheaper and more efficiently. One small miss step with over purchasing or overages on production time or inventory can cost a small business money, when this happens it can directly affect their ... Through witnessing the trial, Scout learns a lot about Maycomb and its inhabitants, particularly Bob Ewell, Mayella Ewell, Tom Robinson, Dolphus Raymond and her own father, Atticus. Bob Ewell is the villain of the To Kill A Mockingbird and, as a result of the trial, he attempts to get revenge on Atticus and his family. However, in the trial itself he is depicted as a very unpleasant person, not only by his appearance, a little bantam cock of a man but also by his conduct. Scout learns that he drinks and sometimes leaves his family for days, he is violent and he may even be committing incest with Mayella. Atticus establishes that he is left handed and that... But through meeting Dolphus with Dill, Scout is informed that he pretends to be an alcoholic because it was the only way the Maycomb would accept him. He says this was so because they could not grasp a sane white person ever living with coloured folks. This interlude with Dolphus Raymond at the beginning of chapter 20 foreshadows Atticus s views, expressed later, that black people are people like everyone else. Scout and the readers learn that we shouldn t judge people by appearances. Although she judges Dolphus by his reputation, her opinion changes after she has met him something that sadly the white jury of the trial is incapable of doing regarding Tom Robinson. This scene underlines the prejudices of the white community, with hints that if a white person loves a black person they have to have an excuse for it and with Scout discovers more about the simple hell people give other people. Introduction Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems convert sunlight into direct current. For this to be achieved, semi conducting materials would be required to induce the photovoltaic effect. A photovoltaic system comprises solar panels, each fitted with a number of solar cells that supply solar energy to the system. In the absence of sunlight, solar power would be available for household or commercial lighting applications (Ratlamwala 86). This paper examines the feasibility of converting solar PV electricity into hydrogen for fuel cells based on: cost of hydrogen production (per kilogram), the quantity of solar power required to generate hydrogen (per kilogram), the feasibility of the technology in the UAE amid the costs and efficiencies of the system components. Question 1 Just like the rest of the world, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Middle East have intensified efforts to curb the global warming menace. Several independent studies (e.g. Harder 790 Radhi 18) have pointed out that overdependence on fossil fuels tends to heighten global warming. At a glance, hydrogen can be considered as an ideal substitute to fossil fuels. Hydrogen provides about three times of renewable energy harnessed from natural gas. • 33. The Grapes Of Wrath And Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway The mid twentieth century represents a turbulent period of history in the western world from the devastating effects of the Great Depression that began in 1929 to the bloodshed of World War II, people were forced to adapt to unfamiliar and changing circumstances. The effects of these events were especially felt in the United States and Britain, and the two countries set the scene for John Steinbecks The Grapes of Wrathand Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway. The Grapes of Wrath recounts the tale of the Joad family, farm owners who, after being forced off their land by big business, head west to California in search of work only to find discrimination and further hardship. Their story exemplifies the struggles faced by low income families unequipped to deal with the changing reality of the American economy and reveals the nature of big business and unregulated capitalism. At first glance, it seems that Mrs. Dalloway tells a very different story. Clarissa Dalloway, a wealthy London woman, is spending her day planning one of her extravagant parties. Although its characters are not struggling to find their next meal, through a stream of consciousness style and an array of unique and complex characters the novel tackles many of the same problems seen in The Grapes of Wrath. As these two nations face and recover from their respective crises, Steinbeck s The Grapes of Wrath and Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway highlight the changing ways in which the American and British people interact with ... Epidemiologist John Snow disproved the widely popular miasma belief and cholera is now understood to be an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae (Tuthil, 2003). V. cholerae is a Gram negative, monotrichous bacillus bacterium. Epidemic choleracan only be caused by two serogroups, serogroups O1 and serogroup O139 Vibrio cholerae (Finkelstein, 1996). In general, children who repeat a grade are 30% more likely to drop out of school as compared to their promoted peers and the retention trend is increasing, up approximately 12% from 1980 to 1992 (Owings amp; Magliaro, 1998). Retained students have an approximately 60% chance of dropping out of school by the 12th grade and those students who have been retained twice increase their chance to 90% (Parker, 2001). Rumberger (1995) identified grade retention as the single most powerful predictor of dropping out. It is estimated that 40% of the total number of repeaters are from the lowest SES brackets compared to only 8.5% from the highest SES groups (Owings amp; Magliaro, 1998). Research by Meisels (1993) discovered that more than two thirds of all retentions occur before fourth grade. These discouraging statistics also come at an enormous expense; grade retention costs approximately 10 billion dollars per year (Natale, 1991). To counteract the discouraging data about grade retention, many school systems have instilled the policy of social promotion. The Han dynasty was a long lasting dynasty in China s history, and the Roman Empire had a long and strong rule. Like the rules of these empires, the falls of these empires were very impressive. Several similarities to the falls of these empires are apparent. One is the fact that they were both invaded by other tribes that threatened their power. Another was the government corruption that weakened them from the inside. And the last, yet very common is historical societies was taxes and economic reasons. Apparent strongly in both empires near the end was invading tribes. The Roman Empire had been suffering from intrusions by German tribes for many centuries. They had both endured many wins and defeats until one force would scatter and weaken the roman empire once and for all. The deciding force in this scenario was the Huns. Afraid that the Huns would attack them, the Germans sought refuge in the Roman Empire, with Rome begrudgingly agreeing to let them settle on some empty land. Neither side held up the bargain, however, and they ended up fighting in 378 C.E. in the battle of Adrianople. This battle was considered as one of the most decisive battles in history. • 42. Pros And Cons Of Global Corruption Global Corruption Corruption can be defined as the abuse of entrusted power for private gain. It can be classified as grand, petty and political, depending on the amounts of money lost and the sector where it occurs. Bribery, extortion and embezzlement are the three principle versions of corruption. For instance, an employee of a firm who is in charge of purchasing functions takes some amount of money from a supplier (bribery), in which that same employee ensures the payment for the products to be above the usual price. Then the residuary amount between the actual price and the turgid price after bribery would get siphoned off by the employee and the supplier (embezzlement). If it s the case of political corruption, an exemplifying scenario can be, some government officials use their positions to extort payments from some government regulated firms. Expectably, economic corruption impairs development and political corruption depraves prospering governance. Unfortunately, both of these types of corruption continuously persist all around the world . Every year, Transparency Internationalpublishes a Global Corruption Index analyzing each country s projected corruption predicated on the scope of bribery, illegitimate government expenditures and absence of anti corruption regulations . For the last few decades, some countries have been continuously occupying the end of the list together. By the end of last year, the top three most corrupted countries were Afghanistan, Somalia and North Korea. Almost all of Afghanistan s widespread corruption is connected to misuse of aid money that was provided to the country by international entities. The Afghan government in 2012 promised to put efforts to diminish the problem, however because of the fact that public officials are the largest beneficiaries from corruption, there is not much of significant improvements has been made towards corruption reduction . A reasonable and informed cost estimate can only be reported to a customer after effort estimation analysis has been performed. In conclusion, the situation contains all of the elements of self defense and the store clerk cannot face legal repercussions for the death of the perpetrator. In my analysis of the homicide that took place in the State v. Norman 378 S.E.2d 8 (1989) case, I find that the situation that occurred is analogous to the store clerk versus the ... • 53. What Aspects Of Your Soul Were You Trying To Represent In... 1. What aspects of your soul were you trying to represent in your sculpture? There were a total of 3 aspects of my soul which I used as the inspiration for my sculpture; responsibility, creativity, and perfectionist. To demonstrate responsibility, my sculpture has a supporting like figure on one side which is situated to support the free flowing structure of the leaf like figure on the other side. It resembles an open hand and which is there to protect the leaf structure from falling over before it actually does. In addition, the monochromatic colour scheme of red violet with the base being a very dark shade shows the hand structure as being rooted to the ground and very secure. All together the structure acts as a precaution which represents... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For one, its positioning across the leaf structure was effective at depicting it as a precaution. The leaf like structure seems to be growing and moving with its free flowing layers, and so the hand seems to be on the opposite side to prevent the layers from overgrowing and falling under their own weight. The space between the two objects however indicates that the leaf structure hasn t fully grown, and so the support is situated there before they reach that length. Secondly, the form of the hand is very thick and its base extends outwards from the main base, giving it a strong and stable form which makes it efficient as a support. To a certain degree, this represents the preparedness required for one to be responsible. Finally, the monochromatic red violet with a darkly shaded base demonstrates the fixated structure. The black represents the part where the structure is connected to the ground, which effectively portrays it as a supportive structure. The colour, form and position of the structure portrays responsibility as it is a precaution and supports the creative side of me without letting it overgrow and become too drastic, which is one thing I believe was effective in my ... • 54. Here Comes Your Man Analysis When an album enters into the realm of reverence, it is attached with an increasingly difficult to break shield. The idea that an album established as great could have any sort of faults becomes something to be scoffed at or ignored. We lose the ability to critique when some sort of consensus has been achieved. The critical hivemind encourages us to move forward and accept the established masterpieces as masterpieces. And without a potential for hindsight, the worst portions of albums belonging to this universal canon are left without scrutiny. This is not to say that a classic album is automatically bad when it contains a weak moment, either. Though it certainly brings the album in question down to a level that keeps it away from the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Here Comes Your Man pulls off its musical and lyrical simplicity, La La Love You is so bogged down by keeping it simple that it is falling apart from the very beginning. Some may say that the sexually simple Hot Freaks is the weak point of GBV s 1994 lo fi classic, but the misguided swagger and self confidence guides the flow of the other opening tracks well enough. This song, which would work better split into three different songs placed elsewhere on the album, brings the momentum of Bee Thousand to a halt. It s something of a riff on a Post Punk sound, but bookended by a drum loop on one end and a sitar inflected verse on the other. The drastic difference between the three sections feels rushed and incomplete certainly something that Guided by Voices is familiar with, but the strength of their greatest albums allows these incomplete tracks to hide behind the bigger songs. The stretch of songs between A Good Flying Bird and Closer You Are on Alien Lanes, their greatest album, showcases their abilities to sequence their throwaway tracks in a manner that enhances the songs as much as ... • 55. National Security Vs Homeland Security The difference between national security and homeland security seems to be ambiguous after reading the question. However, Newman (2002) indicated that homeland security as a subset of national security. From my perspective, homeland security, falls within the purview of a larger capacity of national security. Both national securityand homeland security seeks to protect and defend the nation s interest. One of the goals of national security is to thwart our enemies agenda by preventing the enemies from threatening the United States, and its partners with weapons of mass destruction, whereas one of the goals of homeland security is to Protect the United States people, the critical infrastructure, and key resources (Caudle, 2009). Hence, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
