ABSTRACT
Spatial arrangement in pechay production could be used as an strategic pest management. Three
different spacing were used to determine the effects of spatial arrangement in the population
density of pechay. The spacing were 2.5 x 5 in, 3.5 x 5 in and 5 x 5 in per plant. Collections of insect
pests were done starting five days after transplanting and continued every three days until harvest.
Damage rating and yield were also measured. The spacing of 5 x 5 in per plant significantly
affected the lowest incidence of insect pest, leaf damage and with highest yield. The 5 x 5 in

According to Webster s dictionary, a definition of a hero is a mythological or legendary figure
often of divine descent ( Hero ). The thing with heroes is that they are not all mythological or
legendary figures; in fact, heroes can be almost anyone that holds our admiration towards them for
whatever reason. Any person can be deemed a herofrom the random person seen walking across the
street to one of your relatives, so eloquently it is their journey that they go through that makes them
become the hero. In Joseph Campbells book, Hero with a Thousand Faces, to be a hero you have to
follow along with the steps that Joseph Campbell created called Mystic Hero s Journey. From
the start of the first stage where the Call to Adventure begins it all to the end where the final step

James Lee McDonough was born June 17, 1934, in Nashville, TN. Mr. McDonough is the son of
James W. and Ora Lee McDonough. McDonough married Nancy Sharon Pinkston on May 28,
1957. McDonough and his wife Nancy have three children David, Sharon, Carla. Mr.
McDonough received his bachelor degree at David Lipscomb College in1956. He then went on
to Vanderbilt University to do his graduate work from 1958 60. McDonough received his master
degree at Abilene Christian University in 1961 and at Florida State University in 1966 he
received his PhD. He was a professor at Auburn University upon his retirement in 2000.
