How To Write A Personal Essay About My American Culture
As an American who has Russian parents and was born in Israel, I have always been engaged in
multiple cultures. My parents have put emphasis on preserving our Russian heritage while
encouraging me to immerse myself in American culture. As I stand at the threshold of entering
college, I am thrilled by the prospect of becoming acquainted with yet another cultural sphere. Being
fluent in both Russian and English has been transformative. Over the course of my life, I have read
Pushkin and Hughes, Dostoyevsky and Dickens, Pasternak and Hemingway. Through literature, I have
been able to gain insight into the defining themes of two fundamentally different cultures. I have
understood the tumults of post revolutionary Russia and the dejection of ... Show more content on

After leaving the Soviet Union and gaining freedom of religion, my parents became devout Russian
Orthodox Christians. Nearly every Sunday of my life has been spent in church. My parents have
encouraged me to become an active member of my parish: I used my knowledge of Russian to learn
the Slavonic alphabet in order to read epistles, psalms, and prayers during each service. Reading these
texts over and over again has woven the tenets of my faith into my being. The principle that has
resonated with me most is my golden rule that one should not judge others. This mandate to keep an
open mind is an integral part of my identity. I strive to accept people and their ideas at face value
without any animosity. The golden rule makes it possible for me to consider new perspectives without
compromising my own beliefs. When I meet someone who holds a viewpoint that differs from mine, I
consider these ideas based on their merit, rather than simply putting up a blustering defense of my
own views. Listening with an open mind enables me to find the inherent goodness in every person I
meet and blend my traditional views with contemporary ideas into a centrist

Applying Adult Learning Theory Through Character Analysis...
Abstract
This assignment explores the learning theories of Mezirow and Bandura through the character analysis
of Malcolm X, portrayed by actor Denzel Washington from the film Malcolm X . The focus is to
examine the theoretical perspective of adult learning theories transformative learning and that of social
learning and how they impact character learning and development.
Applying Adult Learning Theory through A character Analysis
The film Malcolm X, produced by Worth, written and directed by Lee (1992) portrays the life of civil
right s leader Malcolm X as he makes his transformational journey from street hustling, jail, and
imprisonment to later emerging as a leader for social change. While in prison, X becomes heavily ...

For example, experiences that would later serve as the foundation for transformative learning begins
to occur for Little, X s name at birth (Malcolm, 1992) when he begins his journey as a child. After
having lost his father to a tragic death, forcefully separated from his mother and siblings, and having
witnessed various injustices enacted against African Americans, he fostered a deep hatred for
European Americans (1992). Having been reared by foster parents who offered limited guidance, X
enters into a life of perpetual crime becoming a master mind of the streets. (Malcolm, 1992). Using his
knowledge to further his life of crime, he ultimately becomes a bi product of his environment (Worth
Lee, 1992). Consequently, his life style landed him in prison. These series of events put X in a position
for transformative learning to occur; however, before he entered into the transformative learning
developmental stage, he underwent another phase in his learning experience referred to by Bandura
(1986) as social learning.
While in prison, X encounters former leader of the Islam nation, Elijah Mohammed. Before embracing
the movement, X steadied Mohammed and his followers and soon became attracted to their
mannerisms, persona, and the hate message they proclaimed about the European American race. He
readily transformed to Islam and became a devoted practitioner. Through his newly

Don Delillo White Noise
Ethical Relation in Don DeLillo s White Noise : A Levinasian Approach
Abstract:
In his writings, Emmanuel Levinas has described Face to Face relation as a relation not reducible to
compression and believes it is this encounter of the face that puts responsibility to the other on our
shoulders and stops us from perusing selfish desires. In this essay through a Levinasian study of Don
DeLillo s White Noise I want to show, how the people of the society, in this work, are inattentive to
the Face to Face relation which, alongside their self centered attitudes, leads the protagonist to
destructive actions, who finds comfort only after his realization of such relation with the Other.

Reflection Of Jose Rizal Play
The play was not what I expected. The characters, the plot surpassed my expectations. The play was
excellent. It was really worth my money and time. I read about Rizal s sacrifices but to actually see it
with my eyes was an eye opener and truly moved my heart. Reading and seeing are actually different
things. I m not a fan of historical movies or even play but this one was actually different from any
other. It is a different experience when you saw the events straight out from your history book and I
was caught off guard with the experience presented to me by this play. And, when the audience left the
hall, each one of them brought home different life lessons and realizations on the life of Rizal.
Since we all have a background of the life of Rizal, I thought that the play was predictable but I was
really amazed with the play because you can really see the hard work of each character, the efforts
they ve put. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We have this admiration of the work in the West that we watched their films, buy their products, and
eat their food that we sometimes lost our identity on the way. We idolized them too much that we are
blinded that ours is much better than theirs. Jose Rizal was our national hero because he loved the
country. That love drove him to fight. The message of the play was also, fight for our freedom, fight
for what we think is right. So in every decision our government made, we must be updated as to keep
us well informed with what s happening in our society. The play is an eye opener to every people who
turned blind on the injustices and prejudices of our society. As Rizal once quoted, Ang kabataan ay
ang pag asa ng bayan , it is up to us to stand our ground and fight. Even with the burial of Marcos,
students went out and rallied. Teenagers posted about their thoughts and opinions in the social media,
standing up on their own. Rizal placed his trust on us, and it is in our hands not to put his trust on

Desalination Plant Research Paper
As the drought bakes its way toward a fourth year, the state has a string of secret weapons in the
works that could supply millions of gallons of new drinking water and help stave off disaster:
desalination plants.
Seventeen plants are in planning stages along the coast to convert salt water from the ocean or bays,
including one near Concord that would serve every major water agency in the Bay Area.
That plant is tentatively targeted to open in 2020, but could be kick started earlier in an emergency,
officials say and once online, would gush at least 20 million gallons a day of drinkable water.
Starting up this string of desalination plants would be no easy skate, though.

critics who say they are too expensive to run, kill fish as they ... Show more content on

Two hours north of Sand City, there is cautious enthusiasm for the $150 million Bay Area Regional
Desalination Plant as well as serious reservations.
The biggest water agencies in the area, including San Francisco s, have been developing the plant
since 2003 and ran a successful small pilot version of it three years ago to make sure the location

Disagreements on the Negotiation Process of the Camp David...
Many disagreements would arise in the negotiation process of the Camp David Summit that would
lead it to be unsuccessful. Disagreements such as the division of territory, the dispute over Jerusalem,
Security and Refugee arrangements arose in the negotiations. However, most of the criticism for the
failure at Camp David Summit was not pressed on toward the disagreement, it was pressed on
Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat. In this paper, it will mention about blaming Arafat,
disagreement on the right of return , Disagreement on Land swap, and disagreement on the proposed
map as the reason for the failure at Camp David Summit. Most of the criticism for the failure at Camp
David negotiations was pressed on the Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat. He was the main
reason that the summit failed. In Norman G. Finkelstein s The Camp David II Negotiations: How
Dennis Ross Proved the Palestinians Aborted the Peace Process , Finkelstein wrote that the reason for
the Camp David failure is that Arafat did nothing during the negotiation; he made no concessions
while Barak made huge concessions. Norman G. Finkelstein wrote:
The essence of Ross s explanation for Camp David s failure, repeatedly set forth, is that whereas
Barak made huge concessions at Camp David, Arafat, having a tendency to pocket (p. 686), made
none: we kept moving toward

Strategic Leadership And Different Levels Of Business...
1.0 Strategic Leadership Styles
Strategy is the direction and scope of an organisation over the long term: which achieves advantage
for the organisation through its configuration of resources within a challenging environment, to meet
the needs of markets and to fulfill stakeholder expectations . (Johnson and Scholes, 1999)

Human Resource Management (SHRM) to deliver the corporate strategy (Schuler and Jackson, 2005;
2007, Stroh and Caligiuri, 1998, Hendry and Pettigrew, 1986) while aligning the needs interests of the
stakeholders internal (employees/managers), connected (financers, customers those in the supply

Ibjectages And Disadvantages Of A Relational Database...
A relational database management system is based on the relational model described by E.F. Codd.
Data is stored in tables, in the form of rows and columns and the relationhips between these tables is
also stored in the form of a table.
The tables, which contain data stored in rows and columns are made using SQL. Before storing data, it
is essential to identify relationships among them. This is done so using an Entity Relationship diagram
which is a graphical representation that identifies relationships among the various tables.
Advantages
Authorization: RDBMS allows the database controller to allow and restrict features to specific
database users based on their accessibility level. This way confidential data can be accessed by only

An object database is a database management system that incorporates all the important Object
oriented concepts. These concepts include Abstract Data Types, Encapsulation, Inheritance,
Polymorphism among others.
Objects in an OODBMS consist of Attributes and Methods. Attributes are data that define traits of an
objects whereas Methods define the working of an object.
Advantages
Enriched modeling capabilities: The object oriented data model allows the real world to be modeled
more closely.
Code Reusability: The object oriented features allow the high reusability of code. For example, when
a new object is created, it will inherit all the attributes and methods of the class of which it is an object
of, in addition to all the parent classes of that class.
Capable of handling a large variety of data types: OODBMS is capable of storing data having a

Grenier, Esq. Tolman Sr. alleges that Grenier did not properly handle the sale of his property, 175
Central Street, Georgetown, MA. During the sale Tolman alleges that Grenier was deceitful, unethical,

Historical Context Of The Treaty Of Versailles
Treaty of Versailles: Historical Context Ninety eight years ago, after the fighting of World War I
subsided, the Treaty of Versailles ( the Treaty ) was signed at the Palace of Versailles in France by the
Allied powers and Germany. The compromise of the Treaty is that it ended World War I. The conflict
of the Treaty is that it fed the German s hate for the Allied Powers and, in turn, was the cause of World
War II. In their hearts was a stern resolution that the fiasco of November 11, 1918, would not be
repeated for all serious people in America, as in all nations, remembered that much hailed Versailles

David Lloyd George, the Prime minister of Britain, Georges Clemenceau, the French Prime Minister,
and the Italian Prime Minister, Vittoria Orlando, made up the Big Three that wrote the Treaty.
Woodrow Wilson, the United States president at the time, also took part in the writing of the Treaty
although, out of his fourteen points, only one made it into the Treaty because the European leaders had
a different agenda. Germany would also be involved, although not in the writing process, but would be
most affected by the provisions of the Treaty.

Figurative Language In The Jungle By Richard Connell
Richard Connell uses figurative language in the story to add richness and spark by using metaphors
and similes. Part of the American Culture is slang which is metaphors and similes. It s just how we
talk and communicate. Even in a story with a scary, mysterious type of mood we can still have slang. I
will explain some of the metaphors and similes throughout the story and how they add the richness the
story s needs. When Richard Connell quotes trying to peer through the dank tropical night that was
palpable as it pressed its thick warm blackness in upon the yacht. , he uses the key phrases such as
pressed its thick warm blackness in upon the yacht . This key phrase is showing a detailed way to say
that it was getting dark and into the night. But instead of being unimaginative and dull, Connell

Managerial Functions Of A Manager
In an organization, manager is someone who coordinates and oversees the work of other people so that
organizational goals can be accomplished. (Robbins, Bergman, Stagg Coulter, 2012, p.10) Managers
play an important role as the organization requires their skills to overcome the challenges in chaotic
times. Besides, manager is vital to make sure all the work activities operate smoothly and thus achieve
the goals efficiency and effectively. There is said to be three specific categorization schemes which are
functions, roles and skills to describe what managers exactly needed to do at each level of
management. Firstly, there are four managerial functions as identified in Henri Fayol s research that
underlying the framework of a manager s jobs which are planning, organizing, leading and
controlling. Planning as the first step in managerial functions requires the managers to develop
strategies and plans to define and aim at some organization s goals. (Education Portal, 2014) The
managers are also responsible for determining and allocating the limited resources. This is called as
organizing function. Next, in the leading function, managers involve in communicating, motivating,
encouraging and inspiriting his subordinates towards higher productivity. (Education Portal, 2014)

An Article On Turning Water
Turning water to ice is a relatively long process from start to finish. Is there a way to speed up this
process by simply changing the water temperature?
Problem statement: If an average person needs ice in a hurry, is there a way to speed it up? Would they
be able to make ice faster by using cold water or would they be better off using hot water? If adjusting
the water temperature by a couple of degrees will this provide ice quicker; would it be worth trying?
The following experiment will address this question and the results of using different water
temperatures will include a more expedient way for the average person to make ice.
Literature Review
Even though freezing water seems like a pretty basic concept by many people; a lot actually goes on
within this so called simple process. There have been many experiments that examined the scientific
process of freezing water.
Nature International weekly journal of science had an article about freezing water and how it the
process was so complicated that it had never been successfully simulated by a computer. In this
experiment the experimenter was noticing how larger bodies of water would start to freeze throughout
nature when the water would start to cool until finally freezing to ice. The complicated problem is
when the water starts to cool and the hydrogen bonding between the individual water molecules yield
a disordered three dimensional hydrogen bond network. The experimenter noticed that using different

Hawkins uses a four phase model grid for tracking process. Phase1 is where the counselor listens to

The Importance Of Freedom Of Speech And Religion In Public...
In the Department of Education s guidelines, it states that students can express their religious beliefs in
their assignments including homework, written work, artwork, and oral assignments free from
discrimination by classmates or teachers (Constitutionally Protected Prayer, 2005). Assignments
cannot be marked down due to religious content and must be judged by ordinary academic standards if
the student has complied to the assignment guidelines. Public schools must follow constitutional law
regarding freedom of speech and religion considering student work and students must understand they
are under certain limitations when it comes to expressing themselves in the classroom.
Procedures from the U.S. department of Education constitutionally protecting prayer and beliefs in
public k 12 schools are mandatory. In the early 2000 s, a school in New York was subject to
discrimination because a kindergarten student completed a poster project that was censored by the
teacher for religious themes. The family claimed it was a violation of the establishment clause, and
freedom of speech by inhibiting the religious expression of the poster. The teacher claimed to have
instructed the students to create a poster project based on the information covered in the class, though
the parents were not informed of this. Therefore, this was not a justified claim to inhibition of
religious freedom or freedom of speech. The project should not have included any religious themes

Rappers Vs Griots
Many argue that the past griot s and the rappers of today in Africa, are as different as an apple and
orange. *You have those who believe the foundation of both practices are one hundred percent
different. Everything that makes a griot who they are, is completely the opposite of what shapes an
African rapper. *On contrast, there are also those who presume that the message and way of execution
are the same for both lyracis. *The belief that the two are different, mostly comes from those of older
age, or who have a lineage of griots that backtrack throughout the years. *While those who believe the
opposite, are of younger age and have more modern day experiences. So although socially, the African
griot and rapper are on two different platforms, the message and ways of expression are tantamount,
however, the fundamentals are contrasting. As time progressed and rappers begin to make appearances
in the 1990 s, griots were still in full effect. Just as the griots openly criticize politicians and protest
the conditions of community, rappers do the same. For example, if the issue was unemployment, it

*However, just like the modern day griot s (rappers), classic griots don t just sing, but they also rap.
So just as social issues and hymns are performed by the griot and the rapper, they are also done in the
style of rap. But of course, many rappers and griots in Africa sing to give a softer approach to the
audience. *For example, when singing about a particularly melancholy part of African history, a song
may be presented. This is also exercised by the rappers of Africa. However, sometimes just as a
camera tell a thousand word, so does an instrument. The emotion and force that goes into playing can
tell a full story. The principle is completely understood by the griots and rapper of the past and the

High School Freshman Students
Now that I have been at Northview High School for have a year, I would tell the next year s student

a big part of your high school career and you need the preparation and dedication to graduate and go
somewhere far in life. The only way I think people can really do well in school is by doing their
homework. Even though I don t like homework, it really helped me get the grades I wanted.
Homework helps you with the tests and quizzes even if you don t know it yet. Homework is a big part

The Prince And The Pauper Social Class
The Prince and the Pauper talk about family relationships. Social class and learning to adapt proves to
be difficult for Tom and Edward. The prince thinks playing in the mud would be great fun and the
pauper thinks being the next king will be the ultimate life. In the Prince and the Pauper, Mark Twain
uses an abundant amount of strategies to emphasize the difference between the two boys.
As a matter of fact, unlike Edward, Tom has next to nothing and is used to having to beg for money on
the streets. Tom s childhood was rough, he was beaten and punished by his father and grandmother if
he didn t produce enough money on the streets begging. Tom was ...a boy was born to a poor family of

Group Observation Of Group Behaviors
Group Observation At the beginning of the group, the facilitator asked the clients to identify group
norms. The clients identified these group norms and wrote them on the white board; raise your hand,
no crosstalk or side conversations, stay awake, be respectful of peers/facilitator and property, keep
things discussed in group confidential and be willing to participate and offer support when needed.
The group facilitator followed the Seeking Safety session format which is explained in the Seeking
Safety: A treatment manual for PTSD and Substance Abuse written by Lisa M. Najavits. The session
format includes four steps; 1) check in, 2) quotation, 3) relate the topic to patients lives and 4) check
out (Najavits, n.d., p. 147 169).
The goal of the check in step is to find out how clients are doing and should not take more than five
minutes per participant. The check in consists of four questions that clients may answer if they are
willing to do so; how are you feeling, what good coping have you done, describe your substance used
and any other unsafe behavior, and did you complete your commitment? The facilitator informed the
clients that the check in process is optional and did not pressure clients to participate. From the
observer perspective, this seemed to empower the clients and give them choice. All the clients present
in the group were willing to participate in the check in process.
The next step in the session format is to read the quotation. Each topic in the

Essay On Thomas Bruce
Who s is it Anyways? Thomas Bruce, the seventh earl of Elgin took 56 pieces of the Parthenon s
frieze, 15 mesotopes, and 17 pediment sculptures along with a caryatid and a column from a nearby
temple, the erechtheion (Brysac, 74). Thomas had permits to take the pieces for he believed that they
needed rescued . Some say he was stealing. On the way to England some of the pieces sank and
remained for a few years before being restored. Then, in 1938, Lord Duveen ordered for the pieces to
be prepared for display. Tools and other hard items were used to get a lot of the grime off of the statue.
However the technique caused some breakage. Later, St. Clair decided that the honey brown color that
was originally on the pieces should be put back onto the statues. Before any restoration could be done
Britain went into World War II; therefore, they were restored underground during this time. Also,
clamps were added to the temple to try and restore it, but it ended up rusting and cracking the

because they are from Greece and that is the original name. The Elgin Marbles are only named that
because the owner changed it and the Britains know that as its name now. I believe that the marbles no

So what we need to do is convert each number into binary and then use the number defined by the

Give one reason why PPP uses byte stuffing instead of bit stuffing? Tanenbaum(2011) states that the
primary reason behind this is that PPP is byte oriented. While HDLC is still in use to a limited extent,
it was created before the Internet as part of the OSI model. The internet itself is byte oriented, so it
follows that PPP (as a protocol designed for the internet) would use byte stuffing instead of bit

The Cuban Revolution In Nicaragua
stated the necessity of the Soviet Union and Cuba to become allies, and this move would also

One of the first areas in Latin America to be affected by the Cuban Revolution was the small Central
American country of Nicaragua. Cuba prior to the Cuban Revolution, was under a dictator and many
people lived in poverty, and in the 1960s Nicaragua was faced with same problem. The fact that Cuba
was successful in their revolution, inspired the Nicaraguan Revolution. Nicaragua like Cuba had

Introduction to Porter s five forces. Michael Porter s five forces model is in light of the comprehension
that a corporate philosophy should meet the opportunities and dangers in the affiliation s external
surroundings. Especially, forceful strategy should base on a cognizance of industry structures and the
way they change. The Porter s Five Forces model is an outside looking in forte unit technique
contraption that is used to make an examination of the captivating quality or estimation of an industry
structure. The Competitive Forces examination is made by the ID of 5 noteworthy centered forces:
The section of contenders (how straightforward or troublesome is it for new members to start to fight,
which limits do exist) The danger of substitutes (how straightforward can our thing or organization be
substituted, especially less costly) The wrangling power of buyers (how strong is the position of
buyers, would they have the capacity to collaborate to demand tremendous volumes) The Original

The Benefits of Living in a Democracy
When someone thinks about the upper class, the majority of people may think about living in a big
house or driving a nice car. But in truth, as G. William Domhoff explains in his book, Who Rules
America? , there is an upper class that is much more than that. Domhoff describes the upper class as
closely intertwined with the corporate community. He begins by explaining why it is important to
know this, and provides statistics that seem to show how the upper class attempts to influence
corporations. Domhoff states that from grade school to grad school, upper class children are trained to
excel in the corporate level, giving them an advantage in obtaining the highest positions in the
corporate world. Domhoff also explains how the upper class ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As stated before, social clubs and boarding school are very similar due to the fact that they are able to
meet new people that are in the same social status. Domhoff emphasizes this importance because it is
the only things left that people of this upper class is able to retreat to in order to share their ideas and
thoughts. This is shown in a study,
Two separate studies demonstrate the way in which this one club intertwines the upper class wit the
entire corporate community. In 1970, according to the first study, 29% of the top 800 corporations had
at least one officer or director at the Bohemian Grove festivities: in 1980 the figure was 30%.(58)
This figure shows that Domhoff is correct in showing a large number of important corporate
individuals attending this event together. Although one may think that it is possible that many
corporate leaders go to this festival, because it may be hosted by a well known person. In fact, in order
to join the festivities you must be a member of the club. Although the club is very wide known among
the upper class, it is also a very exclusive one. The only middle class individuals, who are members,
are persons who exchange the membership by entertaining its guests. Other than that a person can
only join if you get invited by another member, but can be revoked if other members are against it.

Romanticism In The Romantic Period
The Romanic period held great tools in which to develop personal expression within poetry As
popularity shifted from Neoclassism, a rigid writing form whereby poets and writers were encouraged
to copy those who also shared the poetic platform, to an increased in the importance of the individual
capabilities. Critic Christopher John Murray argues that The idea of poetry as the sincere personal
expression of the individual author emerged as central to the Romantic lyric and to aesthetics and
hermeneutics more generally connected to the increasingly important idea of genius as a uniquely
personal power of creative imagination and expression. This confirms my theory that there during the
Romantic Period there a shift from more social values in literature to a focus now on personal ability .
The importance of asking the question of why and how this shift from Neoclassical to Romantic
happened, is essential in understanding the literature of the time. Not only was the mechanical and
rigid Enlightenment rejected, the new period known as Romantic period ordered for emotional
directness and the overflow of personal feeling. Although Romanticism pathed the way for self
expression, some Poets were still very much favoring rhetoric, Angela Esterhammer comments on
this, Though Romanticism is often considered as the period which saw the emergence of self
expression as a poetic model and an ethos, a good many of the Romantic poets were formally trained
in rhetoric. Romantic

Berliner s article, however, is less compelling than these. In order to explain the blend of the artifact
and the natural settings in the Liubei Ting (流杯亭), she gives an example of a Qianlong period vase
with different designs and glazes, asserting that Qianlong liked contrast and preferred to amalgamate
different design elements together. The evidence, yet, is not solid enough to support this argument.
First, the lecturer does not show her evidence objectively, because she only talks about the feature of a
specific vase, rather than a general type. The type of vase that shows sharp contrast between glaze
colors is the wucai (五彩) ware, developing from the sancai (三彩) technique in the Tang dynasty.
Apart from the mixed color vases, there were a lot of other categories of vases in the Qianlong period.
One dominant type is the blue and white ware. Porcelains with famille rose overglaze enamel
decoration were also popular. This kind has the harmonious combination of colors of green, yellow,
black, and rose with blurry edges between colors. Also, these types of porcelain often have auspicious
themes. For instance, the Blue and White Vase of Soft Paste Porcelain with a Lion and an Eagle (Fig.
2) depicts a theme of longevity and happiness. Presenting unity in both the subject matters and the
glaze colors, these vases do not suggest contrast. Instead of rushing into the conclusion that most
Qianlong period vases show contrasts in design, the speaker should have taken other types of vases
into account. Therefore, it cannot persuasively support the argument against the emperor s propensity
for implementing different elements in design. Neither could it justify Qianlong s conscious choice of
integrating the abstract manmade water channel into the realistic natural landscape

Advantages Of Qualitative Research
5 Qualitative Research
5.1 Methodology
As the aim of the research is to identify the relationship between the CSR and the brand trust, focus
group would be the most appropriate approach to collect a diverse range of individuals opinions in a
short time (Rabiee, 2007). Moreover, Focus group would encourage participants to communicate with
each other, which would generate more data which cannot be collected by one to one depth interview,
this could be termed as the group effect (Carey Smith 1994). Morgan Krueger (1993) also point out
that focus group would observe the participants attitude about the social problems.
The objective of qualitative research is to collect the individuals views and support the quantitative
research design. The focus group is considered as a technique, which implements the depth group
interview to collect the data and evaluate the identified variables are relevant for the study (Rabiee,
2007). Richardson Rabiee (2001) argue that participants should be selected according to the following
criteria: First, they have the relevant life experiences and have something to state on the topic. Second,
it would be better that they are not fearful of expressing the opinions among the participants. Third,
they could feel comfortable communicating with each other.
To collect more valuable data, the focus group was divided into two groups, each group has 5

Moreover, it wasn t until my first visit to Dr. Gao that I had truly begun making sense of these

Then, things got out of hand.

  • 2. How To Write A Personal Essay About My American Culture As an American who has Russian parents and was born in Israel, I have always been engaged in multiple cultures. My parents have put emphasis on preserving our Russian heritage while encouraging me to immerse myself in American culture. As I stand at the threshold of entering college, I am thrilled by the prospect of becoming acquainted with yet another cultural sphere. Being fluent in both Russian and English has been transformative. Over the course of my life, I have read Pushkin and Hughes, Dostoyevsky and Dickens, Pasternak and Hemingway. Through literature, I have been able to gain insight into the defining themes of two fundamentally different cultures. I have understood the tumults of post revolutionary Russia and the dejection of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After leaving the Soviet Union and gaining freedom of religion, my parents became devout Russian Orthodox Christians. Nearly every Sunday of my life has been spent in church. My parents have encouraged me to become an active member of my parish: I used my knowledge of Russian to learn the Slavonic alphabet in order to read epistles, psalms, and prayers during each service. Reading these texts over and over again has woven the tenets of my faith into my being. The principle that has resonated with me most is my golden rule that one should not judge others. This mandate to keep an open mind is an integral part of my identity. I strive to accept people and their ideas at face value without any animosity. The golden rule makes it possible for me to consider new perspectives without compromising my own beliefs. When I meet someone who holds a viewpoint that differs from mine, I consider these ideas based on their merit, rather than simply putting up a blustering defense of my own views. Listening with an open mind enables me to find the inherent goodness in every person I meet and blend my traditional views with contemporary ideas into a centrist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Don Delillo White Noise Ethical Relation in Don DeLillo s White Noise : A Levinasian Approach Abstract: In his writings, Emmanuel Levinas has described Face to Face relation as a relation not reducible to compression and believes it is this encounter of the face that puts responsibility to the other on our shoulders and stops us from perusing selfish desires. In this essay through a Levinasian study of Don DeLillo s White Noise I want to show, how the people of the society, in this work, are inattentive to the Face to Face relation which, alongside their self centered attitudes, leads the protagonist to destructive actions, who finds comfort only after his realization of such relation with the Other. • 5. Reflection Of Jose Rizal Play The play was not what I expected. The characters, the plot surpassed my expectations. The play was excellent. It was really worth my money and time. I read about Rizal s sacrifices but to actually see it with my eyes was an eye opener and truly moved my heart. Reading and seeing are actually different things. I m not a fan of historical movies or even play but this one was actually different from any other. It is a different experience when you saw the events straight out from your history book and I was caught off guard with the experience presented to me by this play. And, when the audience left the hall, each one of them brought home different life lessons and realizations on the life of Rizal. Since we all have a background of the life of Rizal, I thought that the play was predictable but I was really amazed with the play because you can really see the hard work of each character, the efforts they ve put. ... We have this admiration of the work in the West that we watched their films, buy their products, and eat their food that we sometimes lost our identity on the way. The message of the play was also, fight for our freedom, fight for what we think is right. So in every decision our government made, we must be updated as to keep us well informed with what s happening in our society. The play is an eye opener to every people who turned blind on the injustices and prejudices of our society. Desalination Plant Research Paper As the drought bakes its way toward a fourth year, the state has a string of secret weapons in the works that could supply millions of gallons of new drinking water and help stave off disaster: desalination plants. Seventeen plants are in planning stages along the coast to convert salt water from the ocean or bays, including one near Concord that would serve every major water agency in the Bay Area. That plant is tentatively targeted to open in 2020, but could be kick started earlier in an emergency, officials say and once online, would gush at least 20 million gallons a day of drinkable water. Most of the criticism for the failure at Camp David negotiations was pressed on the Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat. He was the main reason that the summit failed. In Norman G. Nt1110 Unit 7 So what we need to do is convert each number into binary and then use the number defined by the subnet mask to pick out the nth most significant bits and then convert the number back to decimal, followed by checking that number against the provided table. 135.46.63.10. In binary this is 10000111.00101110.00111111.00001010. The 135.46 preface points us to one of the Interfaces on the table, which both have a subnet mask of /22. The 22 MSB s of the binary are 10000111.00101110.00111100.00000000. Back to decimal, this is 135.46.60.0, which matches Interface 1, so it is routed there. 135.46.57.14 in binary is 10000111.00101110.00111001.00001110. Again the prefix points us to one of the Interfaces, so we take the 22 MSB s, or 10000111.00101110.00111000.00000000. Back to decimal, this is 135.46.56.0, which points to Interface 0, so that s where it is routed. 135.46.52.2. In binary this is 10000111.00101110.00110100.00000010. • 35. Romanticism In The Romantic Period The Romanic period held great tools in which to develop personal expression within poetry As popularity shifted from Neoclassism, a rigid writing form whereby poets and writers were encouraged to copy those who also shared the poetic platform, to an increased in the importance of the individual capabilities. Critic Christopher John Murray argues that The idea of poetry as the sincere personal expression of the individual author emerged as central to the Romantic lyric and to aesthetics and hermeneutics more generally connected to the increasingly important idea of genius as a uniquely personal power of creative imagination and expression. This confirms my theory that there during the Romantic Period there a shift from more social values in literature to a focus now on personal ability . The importance of asking the question of why and how this shift from Neoclassical to Romantic happened, is essential in understanding the literature of the time. Not only was the mechanical and rigid Enlightenment rejected, the new period known as Romantic period ordered for emotional directness and the overflow of personal feeling. Although Romanticism pathed the way for self expression, some Poets were still very much favoring rhetoric, Angela Esterhammer comments on this, Though Romanticism is often considered as the period which saw the emergence of self expression as a poetic model and an ethos, a good many of the Romantic poets were formally trained in rhetoric. In order to explain the blend of the artifact and the natural settings in the Liubei Ting (流杯亭), she gives an example of a Qianlong period vase with different designs and glazes, asserting that Qianlong liked contrast and preferred to amalgamate different design elements together. The evidence, yet, is not solid enough to support this argument. First, the lecturer does not show her evidence objectively, because she only talks about the feature of a specific vase, rather than a general type. The type of vase that shows sharp contrast between glaze colors is the wucai (五彩) ware, developing from the sancai (三彩) technique in the Tang dynasty. Apart from the mixed color vases, there were a lot of other categories of vases in the Qianlong period. One dominant type is the blue and white ware. Porcelains with famille rose overglaze enamel decoration were also popular. This kind has the harmonious combination of colors of green, yellow, black, and rose with blurry edges between colors. Also, these types of porcelain often have auspicious themes. For instance, the Blue and White Vase of Soft Paste Porcelain with a Lion and an Eagle (Fig. 2) depicts a theme of longevity and happiness. Presenting unity in both the subject matters and the glaze colors, these vases do not suggest contrast. Instead of rushing into the conclusion that most Qianlong period vases show contrasts in design, the speaker should have taken other types of vases into account. Therefore, it cannot persuasively support the argument against the emperor s propensity for implementing different elements in design. Neither could it justify Qianlong s conscious choice of integrating the abstract manmade water channel into the realistic natural landscape ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
