Virtual Reality And Its Effects On The Future
For countless years humanity has strived for the next innovation of the future. One of these
extraordinary breakthroughs has been Virtual Reality. Gaming companies across our vast world have
been working restlessly for many years to achieve what was once thought impossible. Working
towards finally being able to place someone in a world where anything and everything is purely
circumstantial and subject to change. The potential of virtual reality is limitless; it could quite possibly
change everything we know. Virtual reality could provide new approaches to cure a multitude of
mental illnesses and disorders as well as assist in physical therapy. Aside from the beneficial effects it
could have in the medical field it could be ground breaking to the recreational aspects of society
sending humanity leaps and bounds into the future. Virtual reality will definitely completely change
and dominate the economic and business landscape.
The effects that virtual reality could have on the medical field leave even the brightest of minds
speechless. The potential virtual reality holds for the medical field is unparalleled, this new technology
changes previously inconceivable ideas into viable solutions to serious and complex issues. Surgeons
and medical students could perform surgeries in a virtual reality to find the best approach toward the
procedure Virtual reality provides medical and dental students a safe and controlled environment to
practice surgeries and procedures, allowing them

The Tactics Of Combat Civil Wars And Instill Peace
The three main tactics used to combat civil wars and instill peace in an area are peacekeeping, peace
enforcement, and counterinsurgency. The first tactic I will address is peacekeeping. Once the two
parties of a conflict have agreed to a truce, peacekeepers will come in to guarantee the implementation
of the truce and try to maintain peace. The duty of peacekeepers is not only [to] monitoring troops, but
also with human rights monitoring, protecting and delivering humanitarian aid, demobilizing and
retraining troops, reforming police forces, protecting civilians, reforming legal systems, assisting in
economic reconstruction, and sometimes administering the entire state until a new government can
take over. In other words, after civil wars, peacekeepers are often charged not only with military
monitoring duties, but with reforming the essential institutions of the state (Peacekeeping, Peace
Enforcement, and UN Reform Lise Morjé Howard, P 1 2). There are three ways that peacekeepers are
able to use their power in order to succeed. These three ways include coercion, inducement, and
persuasion. Coercion involves a display of power, like swagger, to wield off attacks. Troops use
swagger in several scenarios. One of the most common times the use of swagger will occur is during
policing, where troops will patrol the area. Since one of the main doctrines of peacekeeping involves
not using force, this type of coercion has been deemed useful. Even though the majority of the time

Civilization Vs Civilization Essay
The sun sets on a magnificent secluded island with rushing ocean waves, warm lagoons, exotic fruits,
and more privacy than one could imagine that is, until a plane filled with dozens of boys aged six to
twelve comes crashing down from the sky. Lord of the Flies, a novel by William Golding, starts on the
boys dream island, a place with plenty of food to eat, plenty of friends to play with, and plenty of
freedom, considering that there are no grownups for miles. The novel exhibits a theme centered
around civilization. William Golding s use of symbolism in the forms of the conch shell, the character,
Jack, and Piggy s glasses create the theme that the perfect civilization doesn t exist.
The conch, a shell used to call other members of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next symbol, Jack, stands for savagery. Jack started on the island as the head of a small choir and
left as the chief of a savage tribe. Jack s tribe believed that hurting and killing was a better way to
control a society rather than rules and reasoning. Jack begins to become savage when he applies a face
paint mask to successfully hunt a pig. Golding writes, He capered toward Bill, and the mask was a
thing on its own, behind which Jack hid, liberated from shame and self consciousness. (83). The face
paint allowed Jack to embody a savage hunter, his desire to kill a pig becoming an obsession, and once
he killed, he craved drawing blood from whatever and whoever he could. The fundamentals of Jack s
society rely on using force to achieve what is necessary. Robert states, I don t know. He didn t say. He
got angry and made us tie Wilfred up. He s been he giggled excitedly he s been tied for hours, waiting
(223). Tying Wilfred up shows Jack s affinity towards harming others for no reason, exemplifying a
savage mentality simply for his own benefit of being viewed as powerful. His civilization revolves
around killing and threatening, forcing the boys into the group and making them pay in their own
blood to leave. Jack represents savagery because of the way he acts: he harms others for no reason and
is far too eager to draw blood. His tribe, run by savagery, is not

The American Automobile Industry
The American Auto Industry has flourished ever since it s uprising in the early 1900s. Although the
blueprint for the modern automobile was perfected in Germany and France in the late 1800s,
Americans dominated the industry in the first half of the twentieth century. Henry Ford innovated
mass production techniques that became standard, with Ford, General Motors and Chrysler emerging
as the Big Three auto companies by the 1920s (Foner Garraty 1991). But this industry has always
been one of the leading industries for environmental issues and hazards around the world, especially
in the United States. Many of the issues in this industry include: global competition, new technology
for powering the product, the effects of emission on the environment and the government s response,
as well as consumer opinions about the product.
Much like any industry, the American automobile industry is subject to global competition. As stated
earlier, the automobile was first perfected in Germany and France. In 1995, the United States and
Japan made a trade agreement that provided more dealer outlets and allowed easier replacement part
selling in each other s countries (Nauss 1995). This makes auto parts and auto replacement parts for
Japanese cars easier to access in the United States and vice versa. Not only does this provide for more
US jobs, but it also provides for more Japanese jobs in the auto industry (Nauss 1995)! But
furthermore, it increases the global competition. Japanese

Silgrim In The Canterbury Tales
At the end of the 14th century, England s first great poet, Geoffrey Chaucer assembled a collection of
over twenty stories into the novel The Canterbury Tales. During the Hundred Years War, Chaucer
composed these tales in Middle English. The Canterbury Tales is a collection of fictional stories
presented by a group of English men and women as they travel along on a religious pilgrimage. The
purpose of this trek was to seek the martyred saint s blessings and to express thanks to the saint for
helping them live through such harsh winter conditions. Throughout the General Prologue, Chaucer
creates a challenge for the pilgrims as they embark on their expedition to the shrine of Saint Thomas
Becket at the Canterbury Cathedral as a way to provide entertainment. For this tale telling contest,
each pilgrim would tell four tales: two on the way to the Canterbury Cathedral and two on the return
home. Upon their return, the best storyteller would receive a free meal at the Tabard Inn, courtesy of
the other pilgrims, as a reward. The device of a springtime pilgrimage provided Chaucer with a
diverse range of characters and experiences, with him being both a narrator and an observer
(123HelpMe). Chaucer gives vivid detail of each member of the pilgrimage in order to set a frame for
the tales that follow. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of Chaucer s characters end their stories by wishing the rest of the compaignye, or company,
well (SparkNotes). Friendships among knights were an incredibly important part of chivalry, the code
of conduct that the knights were supposed to obey. Friendships between two knights that develop into
rivalry play vital roles in many of the tales throughout this work. This can be seen in The Knight s
Tale , the Miller s tale , and also the Pardoner s

Harper Lee, The Sentry By Wilfred Owen, And Good Guys Dead...
Countless authors, all throughout time, can be seen to write about their passions, their experiences or
their opinions on a certain topic. The question has been asked: do any of these authors early life
experiences or the time setting when they grew up in have any impact on why the writer developed the
work? A range of authors and texts are being covered in this report and the content will vary from
World War One experiences to more recent times of racial segregation in America. This report has
been formed to answer questions and form relationships between authors and the reason(s) or any
influence(s) as to why the following authors have developed their work: Harper Lee, Wilfred Owens,
Ernest Hemingway. I decided to investigate the following texts: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee,
The Sentry by Wilfred Owen, To Good Guys Dead by Ernest Hemingway. If the aim is to find out
whether early life experiences of these authors or the time setting when they grew up in promoted or
influenced the development of their work, three questions must be asked for an accurate conclusion to
be drawn: How heavily did the Harper Lee s early life experiences influence her writing? Where there
any government influences that impacted on the authors writing? Why exactly did the author write the
text?
Question one How heavily did the Harper Lee s early life experiences influence her writing?

Explain How Different Types of Transitions Can Affect...
There are many different types of transitions during life between the ages of 0 19. Some are common,
happening to most, if not all children. Others are less common, happening to fewer (a minority)
children. All changes can affect children and young people in some way. If children are able to be
given the opportunity to ask questions, and discuss changes and events then this could help lessen any
anxieties and negative effects on their development. Four main types of transitions are below. 1.
Emotional Transitions. Obviously children s emotions are affected by their relationships and personal
experiences, if their main relationships are unsettled then they will be wary of forming future trusting
relationships with adults, e.g. if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even with discussion, young people may not actually want to move, they could regress i.e. revert to
bedwetting after the move, until they settle in. They could become sullen or argumentative (after all,
you moved even though they didn t want to!), tearful, emotional, angry and resentful or a mixture of
some/all of these. If things can be discussed before, they may actually move viewing it all as a new
chapter, huge adventure and really exciting event. Things such as changing activities in class can also
be explained before hand, at the start of the session to lessen the arguments, or sulks when an
absorbed child is asked to change what they are doing! 3. Intellectual Transitions. Intellectual
transitions include changes such as starting primary school, moving classes, key stages or up to
secondary school. Also leaving school and moving on to further education or employment. These can
all be very stressful changes for some pupils, others however, may be more than ready for the next big
step in their educational lives. Obviously, these transitions are all planned, and known about in
advance so parents and teachers are able to discuss any issue, and provide support to nervous children.
Our primary school has policies and procedures to make each stage less nerve wracking for children.
In our last half term of the school year each child will be told which class room they are going to be

Two ancient civilizations with rich history. Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece. They have also been
the center of my interest for the longest time. Said civilizations have many similarities and differences.
Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece have many similarities. For example, they re both countries that
are still around today. Both civilizations had vast polytheistic mythologies that they believed
controlled the events and aspects of life, and offerings were to be made to appease them. Both held
hygiene in high regard, surprisingly. Also, the civilizations had breathtaking architecture that was
revolutionary. Ancient Egypt and Greece both created their very own writing system, both of which

The Crime Of Money Laundering
1.0 Background of study
Over a long period of time, corruption has been the focal point of every government, media and
academics globally. Through money laundering, proceeds of crime can be disguised. Proceeds of
crime can simply be put as money earned from profit oriented crime. The methods used are many and
highly complicated. Corruption is one of the organised crime which is said to be primarily associated
with the laundering of proceeds through money laundering. Technological tools accord further
chances for individuals to employ money laundering as a process of cleaning up dirty money and
obscure the trail leading back to the underlying crime.
The crime of money laundering has been illustrated by many as the means of support for many crimes
and is a main threat to the economic and social security of societies. These activities have become a
global problem in the second half of the 20th century similar to the fiery increase of drug trade. The
term has been extensively acknowledged and popularly being employed globally.
Often, as it is known that the origins of criminal proceeds were from drug trafficking, many law
enforcers have now expanded their application to offences such as human trafficking, cybercrime,
illegal arms sales and smuggling. Many countries such as Malaysia, United Kingdom, Australia,
United States of America and Switzerland have given due consideration over prevention of money
laundering, especially in relation to corruption.

Child Sexual Abuse In The Bluest Eye By Toni Morrison
Child sexual abuse before the 1970s was secretive and socially unspeakable. It was only after 1970s
that it became legally punishable. Toni Morrison raised this issue in her novel The Bluest Eye
speaking about the unspeakable. Second wave feminism brought sexual abuse and violence against
women to the forefront making them public and political issues.
Child abuse is a complex phenomenon with multiple causes and occurs in a range of situations and
circumstances. Children are abused by people in a position of power above them. Child abuse is
nothing but the oppression of the weak by the powerful. Children are weaker physically than their
oppressors and so can be overpowered easily. If they are bold enough to raise their voice they are

Sexual Education Is Important Today
Sexuality plays a major role in everyone s life, and it is a part of being human regardless of the gender,
age, race, or religion. Everyone has their way of expressing their sexuality, either with thoughts and
fantasy, or with their sexual partners. Sexuality could be controlled or ruled by the person s desires,
and whatever they fantasize is what fits their hidden personality. Also, religion and education could
control their thoughts into disliking some acts of the sexual activities, like anal or oral sex, some
religions or parents try to put them in the X zone; which make the person grow up with the attitude of
forbidding those sexual acts or seeing them as unacceptable in religious and psychological
perspectives. Education is something important to everyone in their lifetime, sexual education is
important today because it teaches an important topic of sexuality. Due to all the sexual illnesses that
invaded the world even in the Middle East, considered as a province environment. Alfred Kinsey
started the sexual education when he founded the Institute for Sex Research, in 1947 in Indiana
University. Even though sex wasn t a common subject at that time, he was brave enough to research
and get the education that people needed for a better and healthy sexual life. Also, If I was Alfred
Kinsey in this time period, I would need to explore the body image issues. Body image issue is when a

The Walking Dead Video Game
The game by Telltale known as, The Walking Dead , places the player in morally ambiguous situations
where the player thinks their actions are responsible (inter(re)activity) and feel that exact

Inter(re)activity, Empathy and Complicity in The Walking Dead Video Game. , suggests this morel
conundrum on how games [have the] ability to involve the player in the game world through
inter(re)activity (Smethurst and Craps). There lyes a misconception in the game The Walking Dead
where the player is introduced to believe the players decisions effect a different outcome to how the
storyline will turn out.
We must first look at the article by Smethurst and Craps to show how the game pulls the player in
emotionally. The article discuses complicity, where inter(re)activity and empathy come hand in hand
in engaging the player. The player, more often than none, feel[s] as though they are complicit in the
perpetration of traumatic events (Smethurst and Craps). The deaths, however, are already planned out
and each is [a result] of the player s malign intentions or their lack of skill; if [they] succeed, it is
because the player has navigated Lee through the game s levels adroitly (Smethurst and Craps). The

Pope Urban II Proclaims a Crusade Pope Urban II was very persuasive in his speech. He tells the

A Feather Dipped in Gold in Movie Miracle
A Feather Dipped In Gold
On February 22, 1980, the United States men s national hockey team beat the Soviet Union National
team at the Winter Olympics taking place at Lake Placid, New York. To this day, that upset is
considered by many to be the greatest moment in sports history. It was such an awe inspiring moment,
that it earned the nickname, The Miracle On Ice . As such, it should be no surprise that a movie
portraying that miracle was made. The movie, aptly called Miracle, chronicles the assembly of the
team as seen fit by Coach Herb Brooks, and the trials and glory of the young team. It really is a one of
the great underdog stories, a story about coming together and reaching for the stars or gold in this
case. The movie is also a great depiction of relationships. From initiating to maintaining them, this
movie covers it. In this essay, I will detail three different types of relationships that were presented in
Miracle.
The friendship between the guys on Team U.S.A. took a while to cultivate. The players were fresh out
of college which meant most of them had either played together or against each other. What should
have been forgotten collegiate rivalries were not. The poster boys for the continued hostilities were
Jack O Callahan of Boston College and Rob McClanahan of the University of Minnesota. Jack O
Callahan was still holding a grudge over a Championship game in college that had been played against
Rob McClanahan s team. That led to a somewhat

Similarities Between Jay Caratby And The Great Gatsby
The 1920s was a period of economic prosperity, and the rejection of the moral values of the Victorian
Age. The Great Gatsby is a period piece that reflects all values from the access of drinking to social
climate of working on wall street in New York, and partying every night. The economic age was
named the Jazz Age. Within writing books and creating an image F. Scott Fitzgerald coined the Jazz
Age. The characters that represent these qualities the most within the book are Jay Gatsby and Nick
Carraway.
Jay Gatsby is the lead character in The Great Gatsby . Gatsby is a deeply flawed man, dishonest and
vulgar, whose extraordinary optimism and power to transform his dreams into reality make him great
nonetheless. His dream was to make enough money in order to marry Daisy Buchanan, he was in love
with everything Daisy was. In the novel it states, He hadn t once ceased looking at Daisy, and I think
he revalued everything in his house according to the measure of response it drew from her well loved
eyes. Sometimes, too, he stared around at his possessions in a dazed way, as though in her actual and
astounding presence none of it was any longer real. Once he nearly toppled down a flight of stairs.
Jay Gatsby in Nick s eyes was the best thing that came out of his residence in New York. ...I wanted
no more riotous excursions with privileged glimpses into the human heart. Only Gatsby, the man who
gives his name to this book, was exempt from my reaction Gatsby, who represented everything for
which I have an unaffected scorn. Nick had always felt something special about Gatsby and his
personality. If personality is an unbroken series of unsuccessful gestures, then there was something
gorgeous about him, some heightened sensitivity to the promises of life, as if he were related to one of
those intricate machines that register earthquakes ten thousand miles away.
Gatsby was a man who was in many ways preyed on because of his success. The novel says, No
Gatsby turned out alright at the end; it is what preyed on Gatsby, what foul dust floated in the wake of
his dreams that temporarily closed out my interest in the abortive sorrows and short winded elations of
men. Despite some questionable business

Critical Analysis Of David Leonhardt s Driverless Cars...
Humans trust other humans more than the advanced technology we have today. People grow up with
this and feel it to be very true. One to expand on this theory, author David Leonhardt, wrote Driverless
Cars Made Me Nervous. Then I Tried One, published in 2017 in the New York Times, and he
effectively argues how driverless cars are not as bad as they seem. Leonhardt effectively persuades
human car drivers by connecting with them logically through his personal testimony, grammatical
person, and research data. This opinion editorial is very effective through Leonhard s personal
experience driving a semi driverless car, thus the audience is more persuaded. Throughout the OP ED
the author uses his emotions in a cheerful way to calm the audience. However, every human has
questioned the technology of self driving cars, The author relates to the reader through this.
Leonhardt got to drive a Volvo s90 sedan (semi selfless car). Though his experiences he testifies to the
audience that self driving cars are not as scary as they seem. He says, My own experience also leads
me to think that attitudes may change quickly. One of the more powerful forces in human psychology
is known as the familiarity principle. After people have experience with something, they usually feel
more positively about it. Humans generally seem to feel more safe about something if they know other

No. Because before The Wagon Mound, the court was in favour of the direct consequence test which
can be seen in Re Polemis and Furness, Withy Co Ltd. However, the test rests on the fault principle
rather than compensation , whereby once a person is established to have committed a tort, he has to
bear all the losses that arises as a consequence thereof. Consequently, the court uses the reasonable

considered good law.

Essay on Early Childhood Education and its Impact on...
Early Childhood Education and its Impact on Technology
Early childhood education is a time where young children develop important learning skills. Young
children, aged birth through approximately 8 years (young children, 2004) interact with one another to
develop social and even motor skills that they will carry with them later in life. Development in young
children involves the early years in a child s physical, social emotional, language, and cognitive
development (Baur, 1998).
Developmental aspects can be assessed by technology. Technology is growing everyday in our society,
it is becoming a big factor in the use of early childhood education.

Developmental areas include social and emotional, language, motor, cognition, and in addition a child
will make approaches towards learning as well (Davis, 1998). Language development is very
important during this time and computers help since children are exposed to them for reading and
writing purposes. Also, it gives opportunities for them to be motivated to interact with other children if
they are in groups. Research has shown that computer play encourages longer more complex speech
and development of fluency (Baur, 1998). Cognitively, technology use is connected to children and the
use of it can lead to greater motivation and self direction. Development is very important socially, and
placing children in groups or pairs helps interaction between their peers. This helps increased levels of
spoken communication and cooperation that were demonstrated in a study.
Study of five and six year olds and how they learned in a computer enrich environment
Learning development during early childhood education is very critical. How children learn is also
very important and looked at by many researchers. A study was recently performed to look at how
kindergartener s learn in a computer classroom setting. The study was to explore children s peer
dynamics in a seven week learning experience for two hours per day in a computer based technology
rich classroom. The study was performed with nine boys and nine girls from ages five to

Tres Riches Heures Of Jean Duc De Berry AndPoet On A...
To begin, the two paintings have in common is the obvious aspects of the settings being outside. Also,
they both show sign of civilization with people being the subject and having some sort of housing in
the works. February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry and Poet on a Mountain Top , also have
some similarities in their brush work, there is amazing in the nature and settings of these two
paintings. Finally, both works have some type of inscription on them. These two pieces do not have
much in common aside from a few things, their contrasts will be up for discussion next.
The first difference spotted between these two is that Poet on a Mountain Top , is in black and white,
and February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry is painted in color. Aside from that, February,
Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry , is part of a prayer book and Poet on a Mountain Top is a
literati painting, meaning that it was not painted for money but was just meant for someone else to
have. Next, Poet on a Mountain Top has a scholar in the picture finding the spirit in nature, and,
February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry expresses what it is like to a peasant in the winter.
Also, Poet on a Mountain Top has a poem inscribed on it, while, February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean
Duc de Berry has a zodiac calendar inscribed on the top. In, February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc
de Berry it gives more of a depressing feel with the peasants losing their crops

Analysis Of The Poem Beloved Renegade
Beloved Renegade. The title itself seems contradictory; one has a hard time fathoming that a person so
treacherous as a renegade could earn the affections denoted by beloved. Such is the title, however, of a
certain work first presented by the Paul Taylor Dance Company in 2008. Beloved Renegade depicts
the death of poet Walt Whitman. It tastefully transfigures the power of his poetry into movement. As
its title foreshadows, the performance teems with contrasts. Dark and light. Fast and slow. Body and
soul. Throughout the piece, pale costumes glide prominently against black backdrops. Movement
fluctuates between vivacious and dreamlike. Lighting dips from bright, to shadowed, and back again.
The music, Francis Poulenc s Gloria, dips along with it. Such devices contrast the peace of death with
the anguish of leaving our world. Taylor communicates this central idea through two universal human
experiences: love, and suffering. The first moments of the work prepare us for these themes. The lights
go up on Whitman, our poet, alone. The opening chords allow three figures to move behind him. They
move slowly, deliberately, as memories or dreams might move. First, a man. He is suffering. He is
wounded. He stumbles gracefully from our sight. Next, a couple. The man lifts the woman with
apparent ease as they drift across the stage. These characters will reappear later, and we will learn that
they are in love, but for now it is time for Walt to introduce us to the world as he sees it.

relating closely to our daily lives. In The Scretape Letters there are four main characters Screwtape,
Wormwood, the patient, and the woman The plot of the story is a description of the everyday work of
a demon taking over the life of an average human. Throughout the story Wormwood, screwtape s
nephew, is attempting to acquire the soul of the patient for the duration of his life. We see only from
the viewpoint of Screwtape, viewing only his opinions. During the plot the patient goes through many
trails and tribulations just as Wormwood did, trying to gain a soul. The patient is first a man distracted
from God by life. Screwtape first tells Wormwood to use the patients s weakenesses against him to
keep him away from God. We see this continue to go on throughout the plot. The patient is converted

Growth Of Monetary And India
GROWTH OF MONETARY AGGREGATES IN INDIA IN POST REFORM PERIOD (1990 91 to
2014 15)
Nandini Sud
ABSTRACT
Money supply plays a pivotal role in an economy in terms of affecting its prices, output, exchange
rate, etc. In a developing economy like India where development efforts are majorly made through
government expenditure, money supply in the economy tends to increase rapidly, which may cause
over expansion of money supply. Thus, there arises a need for comprehensive study of monetary
aggregates and their components to regulate money supply which provides a base for conducting
monetary policy in the economy. The present study is an attempt to analyze the growth in various
monetary aggregates and their components for India in the post reform period of 1990 91 to 2014 15.
INTRODUCTION Money supply is one of the most important macroeconomic variable in an
economy and plays a pivotal role in its economic growth and development. Along with being an
important determinant of price stability, money supply also asserts substantial influence on the
economy s output, employment, exchange rate, foreign trade, etc. In a developing economy like India,
most of the development activities are undertaken by incurring government expenditure (such as
enhancing infrastructure, providing quality education and healthcare, programs for agriculture and
MSME s, etc.) which causes a rapid increase in money supply and may also lead to its over expansion.
However, if the dual objective of economic

In the results section, five drugs with highest centrality value and five drugs with lowest centrality
value were presented in tables with the corresponding first level ATC code. However, all three
centrality measures (degree, betweenness, and closeness) did not show a fixed pattern. Drugs that
acquire high centrality value do not necessarily be identified with top seven ATC code (N, C, J, S, D,
A, R) and vice versa, except for ATC code for drugs with the highest five closeness centrality value
happened to be in the top group. This could suggest there is possibility of drug interactions from
various therapeutic classes.
From Figure 7, majority of drugs lie on the left side of distribution, i.e. low degrees, and this could
imply that drug interactions were likely to be evenly distributed in the drug side effect network.
Justification of this matter can be inferred from the network itself, where there was one massive
component with 356 drugs (out of 424 drugs). Drugs with the highest and lowest degree are carteolol
and ginkgo respectively. Therefore, in the region with a lot of overlapping nodes in Figure 5, carteolol
is difficult to be spotted due to high number of adjacent edges connected to it. For ginkgo, it possesses
a low degree centrality value since ginkgo is connected only to hydroxychloroquine by Group 2
interaction (i.e. drugs with similar structures or targets).

Harry And Strange Logic Of Book Discounters
1. Harry and Strange Logic of Book Discounters Harry Potter books sold out immediately on multiple
discount offers from different bookshop. There was lot of book shops which were selling the book on
cheaper and discounted prices. They went on with this offer since a lot of people were coming to buy
that book and they will sell it on margin prices, the prices were competitive and the number of copies
sold in millions. On the launch of this book the book sellers gave out 40 percent discount, since the
author was known and had a lot of fan following. Even the independent book sellers were selling this
book with additional services. They didn t drop down the price for the book but instead gave a few
added services to their customers. Books stores usually know the best sellers and they are well
familiar with the fan following of the different authors. They devise out a strategy which covers all
their expenses and sell the book on a price where they still get away making profit. 2. Variable price

for a cold fizzy drink is heightened in the summer s hot days so the machine is stimulated by heat

Innovations In The Byzantine Empire
The Byzantine Empire strengthened through legal innovations such as the creation of the Code of
Justinian. The code was a collection up many edicts and rulings regarding law by previous emperors,
which unified and organized the empire. Prior to the code, the Byzantine Empire s laws were
multitudinous and very confusing. Furthermore, military innovations saved the capital from the Arabs
who laid a major siege. A napalm like weapon called Greek fire was used to destroy Arab ships at the
coasts. This new weapon contained chemicals that ignited as it touched water. It helped drive back the
Arab naval forces. Also, the empire expanded religious innovations through the building of new
churches such as the Hagia Sophia. It was an achievement for Christianity and engineering. No other
building in the world at the time could support a dome so large. However, it later became a mosque
when the Ottoman Turks conquered the Byzantine Empire. Caesaropapism became evident in
Byzantine Empire as it incorporated the state and the church in society. However, the state was
superior than the church. For example, the emperor appointed the leaders of the church ... Show more

this. The state made a government monopoly through the manufacturing of silk in imperial factories.
They became the sole provider of silk in the Byzantine Empire. However, merchants were allowed to

coinage played a huge role to the empire s trade, because it allowed organization within the empire

Social Reality And Its Effect On Self Image
The idea that humans internalize their cultures social norms to a degree at which these norms affect
their self image is a long debated argument among many social sciences. From psychology to history,
the idea of socialization has sprung a diverse variety of theories, all proclaiming that their theory is the
answer. All of these social theories provoke questions about social reality. Social reality is a complex
evaluation of what is considered biological reality and what is considered individual cognitive reality.
These realities are created by social interaction thus influencing individual motives and actions, so
how can one theory answer it all. Dennis H. Wrong (1961), an American sociologist and professor of
sociology at New York University, suggests that much like the question of social reality the answer is
complex thus no single theory can correctly affiliate with all the problems surrounding social reality.
Wrong s (1961) reflection on the one sided answer of social reality is argued in his work published by
the American Sociological Review, titled The Over socialization Conception of Man in Modern
Sociology. Wrong states Sociological theory originates in the asking of general questions about man
and society. The answers lose their meaning if they are elaborated without reference to the question, as
has been the case (Wrong 1961:183) Wrong later supports his claim by critiquing two of the leading
theories on socialization, the Freudian view of man and the Hobbesian

Technology Has Great Potential For Improving Animal...
Biosensor technology has great potential for improving animal welfare, health and production
efficiency. The recent increasing incidence of diseases, such as bovine spongiform encephalopathy
(BSE), tuberculosis, brucellosis, mastitis, and foot and mouth, has raised concern in the livestock
industry and in society. Infectious diseases of livestock have major implications not only in animal
welfare and production efficiency but also in human health, and food safety and quality.
Most biosensor developments have been in the biomedical field, where many in vivo applications
demand small sizes. But it is lacking adversely in the field of milking animals and other livestock. The
primary considerations of biosensors were the physical sensor design, fluid transport, optical sensor
configuration, fluid mixing, sampling of the raw milk, and automation. The ideal biosensor would be a
probe, similar to that found in a pH meter. Since the standard enzyme immunoassay identification of
progesterone (EIA) is currently performed and standardized using microtitre plates. This technique was
a starting point and need Ab raised against other innocent animals. Therefore there is an urgent need
for development of artificial and low cost recognition sites for progesterone detection.
Progesterone is known as a hormone of pregnancy . As in cyclic non pregnant animal, the
progesterone level in plasma and milk decreases during follicular phase, which usually commences 17

How Does Shakespeare Create Tension In Romeo And Juliet
A pair of star cross d lovers in the classic tale Romeo and Juliet, is written by the famous playwright
William Shakespeare. In the midst of the Capulet and Montague s ancient grudge and hatred for one
another, Juliet Capulet and Romeo Montague are confronted with a forbidden lust separated by their
family s feud. The story explores love, hatred, death and forgiveness, depicted through the stylistic
features that Shakespeare employs to portray tension between the Montague and Capulet families. The
tale of Romeo and Juliet sees their love trial among an endless brawl of hatred with many
consequences. The opening scene introduces conflict between the two families through their slave s
dialogue, I will bite my thumb at them, which is a disgrace. Shakespeare already establishes within the
first scene the hatred that both families have for each other that even their help and staff cannot stand
one another. Furthermore Shakespeare uses setting to convey the particular hatred Tybalt has for
Romeo when he crashes the Capulet s party. Such a villain is a guest, I will not endure him. As well as
further demonstrates the bad terms both families are on. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shakespeare ironically sets the setting of their blossom of love at the Capulet s party, a place where if
Romeo is seen, they will murder thee , in order to show his sacrifice for their love. Contrary in Juliet s
soliloquy she begs Romeo to deny thy father and refuse thy name. Shakespeare explains that if it was
not for Juliet being a Capulet and similarly, Romeo a Montague, there love would be free to flourish.
On the flip side it also shows the tension between families for their love must be kept secret. A plague
o both your houses foreshadows bad things to come of Romeos love with Juliet in the future that will
see both fighting families suffer great loss. With love and hate battling through the story the only
resolution can be

Analysis Of Does Trying To Be Happy Make Us Unhappy
In Adam Grant s essay entitled Does Trying to Be Happy Make Us Unhappy , in the first sentence the
author claims that in the pursuit of happiness that many try to achieve, that path tends to have the
inverse effect and actually make one unhappy. The author does this with the use of studies that directly
correlate with a story of an individual by the name of Tom, and his struggles in life due to him
focusing on trying to be happy, and that making him unhappy in due. The author starts with this to
draw in readers to understand what it is that the essay will be discussing in future paragraphs. In the
beginning of Adam s essay he stars by leading off with the claim that will be continued to be fought to
be proven throughout the entire essay. The claim is that the more value that people place on happiness,
the less happy they became . He then uses the rest of the second paragraph and the third to tell the
story of a man named Tom, a man who is trying to find happiness. The story goes that Tom became
obsessed with happiness, longing for a career and a culture that would provide the perfect match for
his interests and values. After Tom had graduated from college he moved to several different states
and countries including New York, London,Behind,Germany, Montreal, and Pittsburgh. The use of
this long story is to give plenty of evidence to work towards in further paragraphs and points to help
drive the point. This story is also uses a common technique to give a single extreme story so it seems
as though this is the most common occurrence. The overall main purpose of this chunk of paragraphs
was to give an example that could be dissected and pasted around using the points that would later be
focus points in later paragraphs. After telling the story of Tom, Adam begins to dissect the story by
stating the hook of there being four primary different mistakes that Tom had made. He follows that by
stating the leading point of the paragraph by stating The first blunder was in trying to figure out if he
was happy. When we pursue happiness, our goal is to experience more joy and contentment . This line
will drive the rest of the paragraph into the explanation of the point made. It begins with the author s
idea on how

Essay about Air Pollution in Birmingham, Alabama
Air pollution continues to be a significant problem in the city of Birmingham, as it has been for
decades. No one enjoys walking the streets of Birmingham only to taste or smell the smoke and
particulates in the air, not to mention the damaging effects to one s health. Fortunately, improvements
have been made; forty years ago, residents of Birmingham could not even see the skyline due to the
immense amounts of particulates in the air, but now the skyline is visible on a daily basis. The
noticeable improvement indicates the progress that has been made over the years, but there is still
plenty of room for much needed improvement. Birmingham s air quality is among some of the worst

For decades, the air quality in Birmingham did not meet EPA criteria, but crossed the threshold this
year. This achievement demonstrates the prominent progress made by the industries and residents to
improve air quality.
Although much improvement has been made, there is still more to be done. Spencer states that In
2011, the American Lung Association ranked Birmingham the eight worst city in the nation for
particle pollution, or soot (An Old Cloud of Polluted Air Lifts from Birmingham s Shoulders).
Birmingham s attempts at improving air quality have been valuable, but the air in Birmingham is still
dirty when compared to other industrial cities. Pollution continues to pose an enormous threat to
residents of urban cities worldwide. In the August 2008 Monthly Update, it is stated that
approximately 800,000 deaths each year can be attributed to outdoor air pollution, making pollution
the single most harmful environmental hazard to human health in urban areas (Kallman). The fact that
pollution kills hundreds of thousands of people each year alone portrays just how dangerous living in
these conditions can be. Kallman writes about a study which proves an increase in upper respiratory
diseases, cardiovascular mortality, respiratory mortality, and low birth weights when exposed to air
pollutants (August 2008: Monthly Update). These can be very serious diseases and complications
which, when contracted, can lead to death or very serious illnesses. There

President Franklin D. Roosevelt s Four Freedoms Speech
On January 6, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt spoke to the nation in his annual message to
Congress, known as his State of the Union Address, which came to be known as the Four Freedoms
speech. Roosevelt listed the four freedoms as:
1. Freedom of speech and expression.
2. Freedom of everyone to worship God in his own way.
3. Freedom from want, meaning economic understandings to secure a healthy life during times of
peace.
4. Freedom from fear.
Roosevelt translated fear utilizing international language to mean a reduction of military weapons and
equipment, all over the world, so thoroughly that nations everywhere would be in a position that
would prevent any physical aggression against anyone. It was Roosevelt s intentions that these
freedoms would apply to every nation everywhere in the world. These Four Freedoms were the focus

Descriptive Experience Of Fish
Version 2: 5 fish, mean fish, dead fish, no fish!
I opened the black hatch on the lid of the fish tank. Turning open the lid of the plastic container, I
reached inside and took out a pinch of the musty smelling fish food flakes. I sprinkled the flakes over
the water in the fish tank and watched as the 5 fish swam up, gulping up the thin copper, crimson, and
mahogany colored flakes. I watched until the fish swam away, finished with their meal. I then closed
the hatch, put away and closed the jar of fish food, and walked out of my room. Feeding time was
over. Just a couple days ago, I had been at Petsmart with my family.
The fish tanks at Petsmart were all lined up against the walls, illuminated by blue and violet lights.
Each fish tank held fish of all kinds of different shapes, colors, and sizes. My family had bought 5
glimmering fish, a bag of fish care supplies, and when we got home, my mom and dad took the old
fish tank we had in our garage, and much to my delight, set it up in my room, on top of a low
bookcase.
One day, me and my mom both saw something odd in the fish tank.. One of the fish, a huge fish with
silver colored scales, was pecking at some of the smaller fish, causing a couple of their scales to fall
off and drift around in the water. Me and my sister started calling that fish the, mean fish. Later, I
walked in my room to see that the mean fish was now stuck inside a fishbowl! But technically, the
fishbowl was actually inside the fish tank, just a

Why Should We Not Meet Boo Radley
I predict that the kids in the story will not meet Boo Radley. The first reason I think they will not meet
him is because he might be locked up. I believe he might be locked up because the doors are always
closed, especially on Sunday. You are supposed to keep the door open for fresh air and to seem
friendlier. In the town if your doors are closed, that means there is illness in the town or its cold
outside. Another reason he might be locked up is because he stabbed his dad in the leg with a scissors.
He was three years old when he stabbed his dad in the leg. According to the book his dad ran into the
street yelling that he was killing everyone. He might have been locked up in an asylum for this reason.
The last reason I think Boo was locked up is because Boo and ... Show more content on

The only person seen walking in and out of the house was the other son who lived in Pensacola. The
second reason I think the kids will not meet Boo Radley is because they are scared off him and his
house. I can tell that all the kids are scared because no one will ever go near the Radley house. The
Radley house fascinated Dill, but when he went he would never go past the light pole on the corner.
The kids believed if you wanted to get killed, you could just go and knock on the Radley s front door.
When Jem was dared to touch the Radley house, he ran as fast as possible and his friends could tell he
was very scared. Another big reason that everyone was scared of Boo was because of how he looked.
Boo was very tall, possibly the tallest man in the town, he was about six and a half feet tall. People
believed he ate raw squirrels and cats because his hands were bloodstained. His face was the scariest,
he had a long scary scar across his face, yellow and rotten teeth, his eyes popped, and he even drooled.
The last reason that everyone was scared of Boo is because he watched people through their

Bromoacetanilide Synthesis
a. Discussion of Yields crude, purified, % recovery chemical reasons Synthesis of Stilbene dibromide
The experiment yielded a mass of 0.32g of dibromostilbene thus a difference of 0.6g from the
theoretical resulting in an 85% yield. A result in less than 100% yield may be due to the solvent used
during the filtration process. The solvent could have dissolved some product and thus resulted in the
loss of product during filtration. Synthesis of Bromoacetanilide In the synthesis of bromoacetanilide,
the crude yield was 0.69g and the purified yield was 0.53g (a difference of 0.26g from the theoretical
and resulting in a 67% yield). The recovery of the pure product from the initial crystallization was
77%. The less than 100% yield could have been a result of adding too much hot solvent. Adding too
much would result in a solution that is unsaturated and therefore when cooled, some of the product
remains dissolved in the solvent. This would cause fewer crystals to recrystallize and decrease the
yield. b. Discussion of Physical Properties evidence for correct product Synthesis of Stilbene
dibromide The measured melting point of experimental dibromostilbene was 228.0 231.0°C, a slightly
depressed value from the theoretical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose of recrystallization is purification. Clearly stated by the results, the method worked. After
the second recrystallization, the difference in measured and theoretical melting point decreased and
the range also decreased (went from 3°C to 2°C). A narrow range indicates a more pure product.
However, in both recrystallization steps, the melting points were depressed and again, therefore,
indicative of impurities disrupting the crystal

Firs And The Emancipation Manifesto
Firs is an eighty seven year old servant at Madame Ranevsky s estate. Although he is old, but he is the
only character in the play that shows the positive and happy life in the past in the cherry orchard
estate. In act I Firs comments that now that he has finally seen his boss again he is ready to rest in
peace (p. 6), this being a foreshadow that at the end of the play he will actually die. In act II, Firs
comments on life was better before the serfs were freed, and that even after he, being a slave, was
freed, he stayed and worked on the estate for Madame Ranevsky (p. 22 23). This comment by Firs is a
representation of how the older generation views the emancipation manifesto and doesn t adapt and
accept the change, wishing that things stayed the same. Firs said, And when the Liberation came I ...

No one knows Firs s whereabouts; they all think he went to the hospital. What none of the characters
knew was that Firs was still inside the cherry orchard estate while it was being demolished. The fact
that Firs was forgotten represents the passing of Russia s old order. Although he was loyal to the
family even after the Liberation of the serfs, the family treated him with disloyalty, by leaving him
behind and caring only about their own lives but not caring about his, as well as treated him with
disrespect, by the way Gayef used to talk to him. This was shown in many occasions where Firs was
caring for Gayef s wellbeing, but Gayef responded by, What a plague you are, Firs! (p.22). This
response shows how Gayef has no respect whatsoever for Firs s age, loyalty and the fact that Firs
cares about Gayef and his wellbeing. The finale of the play is Firs s death and the demolishing of the
orchard, which is a portrayal of the change from the old Russia to the new Russia. Firs s ideals and
memories of the old Russia and the past will taken with him to the graves and

Mountain Man Beer Company Case Reco
Recommendation for Mountain Man Beer Company (MMB)
Although the launch of a new product is always going to be a risk, banking on the withering demand
for a single offering is surely not going to alter the fortunes of the Mountain Man Beer Company.
More importantly, light beer is the largest sales opportunity and it is what the market demands,
therefore, to introduce the Mountain Man Light can be a gateway necessary for MMB to attract new
customers and expand its market. Here are a series of recommendations offering to the company in
order to help it successfully launch the Light beer.
First and foremost, it is strongly needed to do additional market research before MMB starts with new
product marketing plan. Several issues should be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the same time, as the Light brand gains market share locally it would grow in popularity through
untraditional advertising: grass roots marketing. And MMB has know for some time, word of mouth
(WOM) advertising is more effective than the traditional, lifestyle advertising other national beer
brands have used to reach young drinkers. MMB also would have strong brand strategy and visual
identification to brand the Light beer, which had achieved with the Lager product line.
Another way to promote the Light beer is sponsorship. MMB would target younger drinking aged
adults at sports venues, especially extreme sports events like rock band concerts, and events popular
with this segment. Sponsoring events where young drinkers are found would increase the likelihood of
grass roots marketing through WOM advertising after the event. Additionally, the marketing campaign
would need maintain the tough standard its Lager beer created while reaching a younger audience:
Mountain Man Light: 19th century tough. 21st century taste. Once an established market has been
tapped in West Virginia Light would need to make its way to other locales where Lager is already
popular: Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, etc. The key to this approach is creating a light beer that tastes good,
is inexpensive enough for younger drinkers to afford, while branding

All the animals lived in An imal Island, the animals sizes went from the height of a giraffe to as small

A design methodology is a structured approach that uses procedures, techniques, tools, and
documentation aids to support and facilitate the process of design.
16.2 Describe the main phases involved database design.
Database design is made up of three main phases: logical and physical database design.
Conceptual database design: the process of constructing a model of the data used in an enterprise,
independent of all physical consideration. It begin with creating conceptual data model for the
enterprise that is entirely independent of implementation details.
Logical database design is the process of constructing a model of the data used in a company based on
a specific data model, but independent of a particular DBMS and other physical considerations.
In the logical database design phase we build the logical representation of the database, which
includes identification of the important entities and relationships, and then translate this representation
to a set of tables. The logical data model is a source of information for the physical design phase,
providing the physical database designer with a vehicle for making tradeoffs that are very important to
the design of an efficient database.
Physical database design is the process of producing a description of the implementation of the
database on secondary storage; it describes the base tables, file organizations, and indexes used to
achieve efficient access to the data, and any

  • 3. The Tactics Of Combat Civil Wars And Instill Peace The three main tactics used to combat civil wars and instill peace in an area are peacekeeping, peace enforcement, and counterinsurgency. The first tactic I will address is peacekeeping. Once the two parties of a conflict have agreed to a truce, peacekeepers will come in to guarantee the implementation of the truce and try to maintain peace. The duty of peacekeepers is not only [to] monitoring troops, but also with human rights monitoring, protecting and delivering humanitarian aid, demobilizing and retraining troops, reforming police forces, protecting civilians, reforming legal systems, assisting in economic reconstruction, and sometimes administering the entire state until a new government can take over. In other words, after civil wars, peacekeepers are often charged not only with military monitoring duties, but with reforming the essential institutions of the state (Peacekeeping, Peace Enforcement, and UN Reform Lise Morjé Howard, P 1 2). There are three ways that peacekeepers are able to use their power in order to succeed. These three ways include coercion, inducement, and persuasion. Coercion involves a display of power, like swagger, to wield off attacks. Troops use swagger in several scenarios. One of the most common times the use of swagger will occur is during policing, where troops will patrol the area. Since one of the main doctrines of peacekeeping involves not using force, this type of coercion has been deemed useful. Even though the majority of the time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Civilization Vs Civilization Essay The sun sets on a magnificent secluded island with rushing ocean waves, warm lagoons, exotic fruits, and more privacy than one could imagine that is, until a plane filled with dozens of boys aged six to twelve comes crashing down from the sky. Lord of the Flies, a novel by William Golding, starts on the boys dream island, a place with plenty of food to eat, plenty of friends to play with, and plenty of freedom, considering that there are no grownups for miles. The novel exhibits a theme centered around civilization. William Golding s use of symbolism in the forms of the conch shell, the character, Jack, and Piggy s glasses create the theme that the perfect civilization doesn t exist. The conch, a shell used to call other members of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The next symbol, Jack, stands for savagery. Jack started on the island as the head of a small choir and left as the chief of a savage tribe. Jack s tribe believed that hurting and killing was a better way to control a society rather than rules and reasoning. Jack begins to become savage when he applies a face paint mask to successfully hunt a pig. Golding writes, He capered toward Bill, and the mask was a thing on its own, behind which Jack hid, liberated from shame and self consciousness. (83). The face paint allowed Jack to embody a savage hunter, his desire to kill a pig becoming an obsession, and once he killed, he craved drawing blood from whatever and whoever he could. The fundamentals of Jack s society rely on using force to achieve what is necessary. Robert states, I don t know. He didn t say. He got angry and made us tie Wilfred up. He s been he giggled excitedly he s been tied for hours, waiting (223). Tying Wilfred up shows Jack s affinity towards harming others for no reason, exemplifying a savage mentality simply for his own benefit of being viewed as powerful. His civilization revolves around killing and threatening, forcing the boys into the group and making them pay in their own blood to leave. Jack represents savagery because of the way he acts: he harms others for no reason and is far too eager to draw blood. His tribe, run by savagery, is not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The American Automobile Industry The American Auto Industry has flourished ever since it s uprising in the early 1900s. Although the blueprint for the modern automobile was perfected in Germany and France in the late 1800s, Americans dominated the industry in the first half of the twentieth century. Henry Ford innovated mass production techniques that became standard, with Ford, General Motors and Chrysler emerging as the Big Three auto companies by the 1920s (Foner Garraty 1991). But this industry has always been one of the leading industries for environmental issues and hazards around the world, especially in the United States. Many of the issues in this industry include: global competition, new technology for powering the product, the effects of emission on the environment and the government s response, as well as consumer opinions about the product. Much like any industry, the American automobile industry is subject to global competition. As stated earlier, the automobile was first perfected in Germany and France. In 1995, the United States and Japan made a trade agreement that provided more dealer outlets and allowed easier replacement part selling in each other s countries (Nauss 1995). This makes auto parts and auto replacement parts for Japanese cars easier to access in the United States and vice versa. Not only does this provide for more US jobs, but it also provides for more Japanese jobs in the auto industry (Nauss 1995)! But furthermore, it increases the global competition. Japanese ... • 6. Silgrim In The Canterbury Tales At the end of the 14th century, England s first great poet, Geoffrey Chaucer assembled a collection of over twenty stories into the novel The Canterbury Tales. During the Hundred Years War, Chaucer composed these tales in Middle English. The Canterbury Tales is a collection of fictional stories presented by a group of English men and women as they travel along on a religious pilgrimage. The purpose of this trek was to seek the martyred saint s blessings and to express thanks to the saint for helping them live through such harsh winter conditions. Throughout the General Prologue, Chaucer creates a challenge for the pilgrims as they embark on their expedition to the shrine of Saint Thomas Becket at the Canterbury Cathedral as a way to provide entertainment. For this tale telling contest, each pilgrim would tell four tales: two on the way to the Canterbury Cathedral and two on the return home. Upon their return, the best storyteller would receive a free meal at the Tabard Inn, courtesy of the other pilgrims, as a reward. The device of a springtime pilgrimage provided Chaucer with a diverse range of characters and experiences, with him being both a narrator and an observer (123HelpMe). Chaucer gives vivid detail of each member of the pilgrimage in order to set a frame for the tales that follow. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Harper Lee, The Sentry By Wilfred Owen, And Good Guys Dead... Countless authors, all throughout time, can be seen to write about their passions, their experiences or their opinions on a certain topic. The question has been asked: do any of these authors early life experiences or the time setting when they grew up in have any impact on why the writer developed the work? A range of authors and texts are being covered in this report and the content will vary from World War One experiences to more recent times of racial segregation in America. This report has been formed to answer questions and form relationships between authors and the reason(s) or any influence(s) as to why the following authors have developed their work: Harper Lee, Wilfred Owens, Ernest Hemingway. I decided to investigate the following texts: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, The Sentry by Wilfred Owen, To Good Guys Dead by Ernest Hemingway. If the aim is to find out whether early life experiences of these authors or the time setting when they grew up in promoted or influenced the development of their work, three questions must be asked for an accurate conclusion to be drawn: How heavily did the Harper Lee s early life experiences influence her writing? Where there any government influences that impacted on the authors writing? Why exactly did the author write the text? Question one How heavily did the Harper Lee s early life experiences influence her writing? Text To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee Harper Lee grew up in the small southwestern Alabama ... • 8. Explain How Different Types of Transitions Can Affect... There are many different types of transitions during life between the ages of 0 19. Some are common, happening to most, if not all children. Others are less common, happening to fewer (a minority) children. All changes can affect children and young people in some way. If children are able to be given the opportunity to ask questions, and discuss changes and events then this could help lessen any anxieties and negative effects on their development. Four main types of transitions are below. 1. Emotional Transitions. Obviously children s emotions are affected by their relationships and personal experiences, if their main relationships are unsettled then they will be wary of forming future trusting relationships with adults, e.g. if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even with discussion, young people may not actually want to move, they could regress i.e. revert to bedwetting after the move, until they settle in. They could become sullen or argumentative (after all, you moved even though they didn t want to!), tearful, emotional, angry and resentful or a mixture of some/all of these. If things can be discussed before, they may actually move viewing it all as a new chapter, huge adventure and really exciting event. Things such as changing activities in class can also be explained before hand, at the start of the session to lessen the arguments, or sulks when an absorbed child is asked to change what they are doing! 3. Intellectual Transitions. Intellectual transitions include changes such as starting primary school, moving classes, key stages or up to secondary school. Also leaving school and moving on to further education or employment. These can all be very stressful changes for some pupils, others however, may be more than ready for the next big step in their educational lives. Obviously, these transitions are all planned, and known about in advance so parents and teachers are able to discuss any issue, and provide support to nervous children. Our primary school has policies and procedures to make each stage less nerve wracking for children. In our last half term of the school year each child will be told which class room they are going to be in, with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Through money laundering, proceeds of crime can be disguised. Proceeds of crime can simply be put as money earned from profit oriented crime. The methods used are many and highly complicated. Corruption is one of the organised crime which is said to be primarily associated with the laundering of proceeds through money laundering. Technological tools accord further chances for individuals to employ money laundering as a process of cleaning up dirty money and obscure the trail leading back to the underlying crime. The crime of money laundering has been illustrated by many as the means of support for many crimes and is a main threat to the economic and social security of societies. These activities have become a global problem in the second half of the 20th century similar to the fiery increase of drug trade. The term has been extensively acknowledged and popularly being employed globally. Often, as it is known that the origins of criminal proceeds were from drug trafficking, many law enforcers have now expanded their application to offences such as human trafficking, cybercrime, illegal arms sales and smuggling. Many countries such as Malaysia, United Kingdom, Australia, United States of America and Switzerland have given due consideration over prevention of money laundering, especially in relation to corruption. • 12. Sexual Education Is Important Today Sexuality plays a major role in everyone s life, and it is a part of being human regardless of the gender, age, race, or religion. Everyone has their way of expressing their sexuality, either with thoughts and fantasy, or with their sexual partners. Sexuality could be controlled or ruled by the person s desires, and whatever they fantasize is what fits their hidden personality. Also, religion and education could control their thoughts into disliking some acts of the sexual activities, like anal or oral sex, some religions or parents try to put them in the X zone; which make the person grow up with the attitude of forbidding those sexual acts or seeing them as unacceptable in religious and psychological perspectives. Education is something important to everyone in their lifetime, sexual education is important today because it teaches an important topic of sexuality. Due to all the sexual illnesses that invaded the world even in the Middle East, considered as a province environment. Alfred Kinsey started the sexual education when he founded the Institute for Sex Research, in 1947 in Indiana University. Even though sex wasn t a common subject at that time, he was brave enough to research and get the education that people needed for a better and healthy sexual life. There lyes a misconception in the game The Walking Dead where the player is introduced to believe the players decisions effect a different outcome to how the storyline will turn out. A Feather Dipped in Gold in Movie Miracle A Feather Dipped In Gold On February 22, 1980, the United States men s national hockey team beat the Soviet Union National team at the Winter Olympics taking place at Lake Placid, New York. To this day, that upset is considered by many to be the greatest moment in sports history. It was such an awe inspiring moment, that it earned the nickname, The Miracle On Ice . As such, it should be no surprise that a movie portraying that miracle was made. The movie, aptly called Miracle, chronicles the assembly of the team as seen fit by Coach Herb Brooks, and the trials and glory of the young team. It really is a one of the great underdog stories, a story about coming together and reaching for the stars or gold in this case. The movie is also a great depiction of relationships. From initiating to maintaining them, this movie covers it. In this essay, I will detail three different types of relationships that were presented in Miracle. The friendship between the guys on Team U.S.A. took a while to cultivate. The players were fresh out of college which meant most of them had either played together or against each other. What should have been forgotten collegiate rivalries were not. The poster boys for the continued hostilities were Jack O Callahan of Boston College and Rob McClanahan of the University of Minnesota. The Great Gatsby is a period piece that reflects all values from the access of drinking to social climate of working on wall street in New York, and partying every night. The economic age was named the Jazz Age. Within writing books and creating an image F. Scott Fitzgerald coined the Jazz Age. The characters that represent these qualities the most within the book are Jay Gatsby and Nick Carraway. Jay Gatsby is the lead character in The Great Gatsby . Gatsby is a deeply flawed man, dishonest and vulgar, whose extraordinary optimism and power to transform his dreams into reality make him great nonetheless. His dream was to make enough money in order to marry Daisy Buchanan, he was in love with everything Daisy was. In the novel it states, He hadn t once ceased looking at Daisy, and I think he revalued everything in his house according to the measure of response it drew from her well loved eyes. Sometimes, too, he stared around at his possessions in a dazed way, as though in her actual and astounding presence none of it was any longer real. Once he nearly toppled down a flight of stairs. Jay Gatsby in Nick s eyes was the best thing that came out of his residence in New York. ...I wanted no more riotous excursions with privileged glimpses into the human heart. Only Gatsby, the man who gives his name to this book, was exempt from my reaction Gatsby, who represented everything for which I have an unaffected scorn. Nick had always felt something special about Gatsby and his personality. If personality is an unbroken series of unsuccessful gestures, then there was something gorgeous about him, some heightened sensitivity to the promises of life, as if he were related to one of those intricate machines that register earthquakes ten thousand miles away. Gatsby was a man who was in many ways preyed on because of his success. The novel says, No Gatsby turned out alright at the end; it is what preyed on Gatsby, what foul dust floated in the wake of his dreams that temporarily closed out my interest in the abortive sorrows and short winded elations of men. • 21. Critical Analysis Of David Leonhardt s Driverless Cars... Humans trust other humans more than the advanced technology we have today. People grow up with this and feel it to be very true. One to expand on this theory, author David Leonhardt, wrote Driverless Cars Made Me Nervous. Then I Tried One, published in 2017 in the New York Times, and he effectively argues how driverless cars are not as bad as they seem. Leonhardt effectively persuades human car drivers by connecting with them logically through his personal testimony, grammatical person, and research data. This opinion editorial is very effective through Leonhard s personal experience driving a semi driverless car, thus the audience is more persuaded. Throughout the OP ED the author uses his emotions in a cheerful way to calm the audience. However, every human has questioned the technology of self driving cars, The author relates to the reader through this. Leonhardt got to drive a Volvo s90 sedan (semi selfless car). The main purpose of the maxim is to avoid injustice to the plaintiff as otherwise the plaintiff would be required to prove the details of the cause of the accident, which he may not know. As stated by NH Chan JCA in Teoh Guat Looi v Ng Hong Guan, res ipsa loquitur was in essence no more than a common sense approach to the effect of the evidence in certain circumstances. It means that a plaintiff prima facie establishes negligence where it is not possible for him to prove precisely how the accident happened, but on the evidence as it stands, he manages to show that the accident could not have happened without the negligence on the part of the defendant. • 25. Analysis Of The Poem Beloved Renegade Beloved Renegade. The title itself seems contradictory; one has a hard time fathoming that a person so treacherous as a renegade could earn the affections denoted by beloved. Such is the title, however, of a certain work first presented by the Paul Taylor Dance Company in 2008. Beloved Renegade depicts the death of poet Walt Whitman. It tastefully transfigures the power of his poetry into movement. As its title foreshadows, the performance teems with contrasts. Dark and light. Fast and slow. Body and soul. Throughout the piece, pale costumes glide prominently against black backdrops. Movement fluctuates between vivacious and dreamlike. Lighting dips from bright, to shadowed, and back again. The music, Francis Poulenc s Gloria, dips along with it. Such devices contrast the peace of death with the anguish of leaving our world. Taylor communicates this central idea through two universal human experiences: love, and suffering. The first moments of the work prepare us for these themes. The lights go up on Whitman, our poet, alone. The opening chords allow three figures to move behind him. They move slowly, deliberately, as memories or dreams might move. First, a man. He is suffering. He is wounded. He stumbles gracefully from our sight. Next, a couple. The man lifts the woman with apparent ease as they drift across the stage. These characters will reappear later, and we will learn that they are in love, but for now it is time for Walt to introduce us to the world as he sees it. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Thus, there arises a need for comprehensive study of monetary aggregates and their components to regulate money supply which provides a base for conducting monetary policy in the economy. The present study is an attempt to analyze the growth in various monetary aggregates and their components for India in the post reform period of 1990 91 to 2014 15. INTRODUCTION Money supply is one of the most important macroeconomic variable in an economy and plays a pivotal role in its economic growth and development. Along with being an important determinant of price stability, money supply also asserts substantial influence on the economy s output, employment, exchange rate, foreign trade, etc. In a developing economy like India, most of the development activities are undertaken by incurring government expenditure (such as enhancing infrastructure, providing quality education and healthcare, programs for agriculture and MSME s, etc.) which causes a rapid increase in money supply and may also lead to its over expansion. However, all three centrality measures (degree, betweenness, and closeness) did not show a fixed pattern. Drugs that acquire high centrality value do not necessarily be identified with top seven ATC code (N, C, J, S, D, A, R) and vice versa, except for ATC code for drugs with the highest five closeness centrality value happened to be in the top group. This could suggest there is possibility of drug interactions from various therapeutic classes. From Figure 7, majority of drugs lie on the left side of distribution, i.e. low degrees, and this could imply that drug interactions were likely to be evenly distributed in the drug side effect network. Justification of this matter can be inferred from the network itself, where there was one massive component with 356 drugs (out of 424 drugs). Drugs with the highest and lowest degree are carteolol and ginkgo respectively. Therefore, in the region with a lot of overlapping nodes in Figure 5, carteolol is difficult to be spotted due to high number of adjacent edges connected to it. The code was a collection up many edicts and rulings regarding law by previous emperors, which unified and organized the empire. Prior to the code, the Byzantine Empire s laws were multitudinous and very confusing. Furthermore, military innovations saved the capital from the Arabs who laid a major siege. A napalm like weapon called Greek fire was used to destroy Arab ships at the coasts. This new weapon contained chemicals that ignited as it touched water. It helped drive back the Arab naval forces. Also, the empire expanded religious innovations through the building of new churches such as the Hagia Sophia. It was an achievement for Christianity and engineering. • 31. Social Reality And Its Effect On Self Image The idea that humans internalize their cultures social norms to a degree at which these norms affect their self image is a long debated argument among many social sciences. From psychology to history, the idea of socialization has sprung a diverse variety of theories, all proclaiming that their theory is the answer. All of these social theories provoke questions about social reality. Social reality is a complex evaluation of what is considered biological reality and what is considered individual cognitive reality. These realities are created by social interaction thus influencing individual motives and actions, so how can one theory answer it all. Dennis H. Wrong (1961), an American sociologist and professor of sociology at New York University, suggests that much like the question of social reality the answer is complex thus no single theory can correctly affiliate with all the problems surrounding social reality. Wrong s (1961) reflection on the one sided answer of social reality is argued in his work published by the American Sociological Review, titled The Over socialization Conception of Man in Modern Sociology. Wrong states Sociological theory originates in the asking of general questions about man and society. The answers lose their meaning if they are elaborated without reference to the question, as has been the case (Wrong 1961:183) Wrong later supports his claim by critiquing two of the leading theories on socialization, the Freudian view of man and the Hobbesian ... Analysis Of Does Trying To Be Happy Make Us Unhappy In Adam Grant s essay entitled Does Trying to Be Happy Make Us Unhappy , in the first sentence the author claims that in the pursuit of happiness that many try to achieve, that path tends to have the inverse effect and actually make one unhappy. The author does this with the use of studies that directly correlate with a story of an individual by the name of Tom, and his struggles in life due to him focusing on trying to be happy, and that making him unhappy in due. The author starts with this to draw in readers to understand what it is that the essay will be discussing in future paragraphs. In the beginning of Adam s essay he stars by leading off with the claim that will be continued to be fought to be proven throughout the entire essay. The claim is that the more value that people place on happiness, the less happy they became . He then uses the rest of the second paragraph and the third to tell the story of a man named Tom, a man who is trying to find happiness. The story goes that Tom became obsessed with happiness, longing for a career and a culture that would provide the perfect match for his interests and values. After Tom had graduated from college he moved to several different states and countries including New York, London,Behind,Germany, Montreal, and Pittsburgh. The use of this long story is to give plenty of evidence to work towards in further paragraphs and points to help drive the point. This story is also uses a common technique to give a single extreme story so it seems as though this is the most common occurrence. The overall main purpose of this chunk of paragraphs was to give an example that could be dissected and pasted around using the points that would later be focus points in later paragraphs. After telling the story of Tom, Adam begins to dissect the story by stating the hook of there being four primary different mistakes that Tom had made. He follows that by stating the leading point of the paragraph by stating The first blunder was in trying to figure out if he was happy. When we pursue happiness, our goal is to experience more joy and contentment . This line will drive the rest of the paragraph into the explanation of the point made. • 40. Dramatic Monologue Sweetie? Where are you going? I heard my mother s faint voice call out from the kitchen. I was standing at the front door, halfway through opening it when I heard her voice. It was Oli s, my best friend s, birthday and her, Angelo, and Dante, were going to Las Vegas to spend her special weekend. Although I ve told and reminded my mom of me leaving over ten times, she is incredibly forgetful. Mom, I ve already told you. I m going out for the weekend, I responded, yelling but my voice monotone. Okay, sweetie, I ll probably be here when you get home. Okay, mom. Love you, I quietly responded, already out of the door and heading to my car. My mother never liked any of the friends that I ve ever made. She always said that they were bad influences. She especially doesn t like Oli. What kind of a name is Oli ? She retorts, or She s too old. How many times has she been held back? My mother scoffs. We re an hour into California when I hear Dante yell out, Oh, my god! causing me to slam on the breaks in the middle of the road. Dante, what the heck?! I raise my voice and turn around in the seat to face Dante who is sitting in the back and on the right. I died, he replies sheepishly, Sorry. Oh my god, Dante, you scared me. Could have gotten into a car crash, but thank god nobody s here. My response makes everybody look around at the openly deserted road. It s just like what you would see out of any horror movie. No cars, no signs, trees almost making up a forest, but not quite surrounding every part of it. I can tell that, like I am, they re all slightly freaked out about it. Hey, Cade, could you start up the car and drive again? I m kind of starting to get freaked out, Oli says in a panic. Yeah, C, I think that we re all kind of freaked out, Dante agrees with ... • 41. Wav File Analysis To compare these two file formats properly, I loaded them both into my iTunes and put them side by side so I could easily click from one to the other. I did this because it is very hard for me to remember the differences between two versions of the same song without hearing the exact same part immediately after each other. Luckily for me, this song has some very distinct changes between its mp3 file and its wav file. However, when I began listening to the mp3 file I had trouble hearing it properly which led me to have to fiddle with volume knobs. When I then loaded the wav file I was completely blown away by the brightness and fullness of the sound as opposed to the trouble I had with the mp3 format. Without that original recording or the one that had the specific deformity, how could I tell what I was hearing? It continues to be a strenuous task for me because, even though I have an understanding of what I am supposed to be hearing, I can not always hear it as everyone else does. Reverberation is the one sound aspect that I can hear pretty consistently since it is the continuation of a sound that can obviously be heard and counted after the beginning of the note. I hear this specifically in the drums and cymbals of this song and it is my favorite feature since it I enjoy reverb the most in the music I listen ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Descriptive Experience Of Fish Version 2: 5 fish, mean fish, dead fish, no fish! I opened the black hatch on the lid of the fish tank. Turning open the lid of the plastic container, I reached inside and took out a pinch of the musty smelling fish food flakes. I sprinkled the flakes over the water in the fish tank and watched as the 5 fish swam up, gulping up the thin copper, crimson, and mahogany colored flakes. I watched until the fish swam away, finished with their meal. I then closed the hatch, put away and closed the jar of fish food, and walked out of my room. Feeding time was over. Just a couple days ago, I had been at Petsmart with my family. The fish tanks at Petsmart were all lined up against the walls, illuminated by blue and violet lights. Each fish tank held fish of all kinds of different shapes, colors, and sizes. My family had bought 5 glimmering fish, a bag of fish care supplies, and when we got home, my mom and dad took the old fish tank we had in our garage, and much to my delight, set it up in my room, on top of a low bookcase. One day, me and my mom both saw something odd in the fish tank.. One of the fish, a huge fish with silver colored scales, was pecking at some of the smaller fish, causing a couple of their scales to fall off and drift around in the water. Me and my sister started calling that fish the, mean fish. Later, I walked in my room to see that the mean fish was now stuck inside a fishbowl! But technically, the fishbowl was actually inside the fish tank, just a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Why Should We Not Meet Boo Radley I predict that the kids in the story will not meet Boo Radley. The first reason I think they will not meet him is because he might be locked up. I believe he might be locked up because the doors are always closed, especially on Sunday. You are supposed to keep the door open for fresh air and to seem friendlier. In the town if your doors are closed, that means there is illness in the town or its cold outside. Another reason he might be locked up is because he stabbed his dad in the leg with a scissors. He was three years old when he stabbed his dad in the leg. According to the book his dad ran into the street yelling that he was killing everyone. He might have been locked up in an asylum for this reason. The last reason I think Boo was locked up is because Boo and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The only person seen walking in and out of the house was the other son who lived in Pensacola. The second reason I think the kids will not meet Boo Radley is because they are scared off him and his house. I can tell that all the kids are scared because no one will ever go near the Radley house. The Radley house fascinated Dill, but when he went he would never go past the light pole on the corner. The kids believed if you wanted to get killed, you could just go and knock on the Radley s front door. When Jem was dared to touch the Radley house, he ran as fast as possible and his friends could tell he was very scared. Another big reason that everyone was scared of Boo was because of how he looked. Boo was very tall, possibly the tallest man in the town, he was about six and a half feet tall. People believed he ate raw squirrels and cats because his hands were bloodstained. His face was the scariest, he had a long scary scar across his face, yellow and rotten teeth, his eyes popped, and he even drooled. • 44. Bromoacetanilide Synthesis a. Discussion of Yields crude, purified, % recovery chemical reasons Synthesis of Stilbene dibromide The experiment yielded a mass of 0.32g of dibromostilbene thus a difference of 0.6g from the theoretical resulting in an 85% yield. A result in less than 100% yield may be due to the solvent used during the filtration process. The solvent could have dissolved some product and thus resulted in the loss of product during filtration. Synthesis of Bromoacetanilide In the synthesis of bromoacetanilide, the crude yield was 0.69g and the purified yield was 0.53g (a difference of 0.26g from the theoretical and resulting in a 67% yield). The recovery of the pure product from the initial crystallization was 77%. The less than 100% yield could have been a result of adding too much hot solvent. Adding too much would result in a solution that is unsaturated and therefore when cooled, some of the product remains dissolved in the solvent. This would cause fewer crystals to recrystallize and decrease the yield. b. • 45. Firs And The Emancipation Manifesto Firs is an eighty seven year old servant at Madame Ranevsky s estate. Although he is old, but he is the only character in the play that shows the positive and happy life in the past in the cherry orchard estate. In act I Firs comments that now that he has finally seen his boss again he is ready to rest in peace (p. 6), this being a foreshadow that at the end of the play he will actually die. In act II, Firs comments on life was better before the serfs were freed, and that even after he, being a slave, was freed, he stayed and worked on the estate for Madame Ranevsky (p. 22 23). This comment by Firs is a representation of how the older generation views the emancipation manifesto and doesn t adapt and accept the change, wishing that things stayed the same. What none of the characters knew was that Firs was still inside the cherry orchard estate while it was being demolished. The fact that Firs was forgotten represents the passing of Russia s old order. Although he was loyal to the family even after the Liberation of the serfs, the family treated him with disloyalty, by leaving him behind and caring only about their own lives but not caring about his, as well as treated him with disrespect, by the way Gayef used to talk to him. This was shown in many occasions where Firs was caring for Gayef s wellbeing, but Gayef responded by, What a plague you are, Firs! (p.22). This response shows how Gayef has no respect whatsoever for Firs s age, loyalty and the fact that Firs cares about Gayef and his wellbeing. The finale of the play is Firs s death and the demolishing of the orchard, which is a portrayal of the change from the old Russia to the new Russia. Mountain Man Beer Company Case Reco Recommendation for Mountain Man Beer Company (MMB) Although the launch of a new product is always going to be a risk, banking on the withering demand for a single offering is surely not going to alter the fortunes of the Mountain Man Beer Company. At the same time, as the Light brand gains market share locally it would grow in popularity through untraditional advertising: grass roots marketing. And MMB has know for some time, word of mouth (WOM) advertising is more effective than the traditional, lifestyle advertising other national beer brands have used to reach young drinkers. MMB also would have strong brand strategy and visual identification to brand the Light beer, which had achieved with the Lager product line. Another way to promote the Light beer is sponsorship. MMB would target younger drinking aged adults at sports venues, especially extreme sports events like rock band concerts, and events popular with this segment. Sponsoring events where young drinkers are found would increase the likelihood of grass roots marketing through WOM advertising after the event. Additionally, the marketing campaign would need maintain the tough standard its Lager beer created while reaching a younger audience: Mountain Man Light: 19th century tough. 21st century taste. A design methodology is a structured approach that uses procedures, techniques, tools, and documentation aids to support and facilitate the process of design. 16.2 Describe the main phases involved database design. Database design is made up of three main phases: logical and physical database design. Conceptual database design: the process of constructing a model of the data used in an enterprise, independent of all physical consideration. It begin with creating conceptual data model for the enterprise that is entirely independent of implementation details. Logical database design is the process of constructing a model of the data used in a company based on a specific data model, but independent of a particular DBMS and other physical considerations. In the logical database design phase we build the logical representation of the database, which includes identification of the important entities and relationships, and then translate this representation to a set of tables. The logical data model is a source of information for the physical design phase, providing the physical database designer with a vehicle for making tradeoffs that are very important to the design of an efficient database. Physical database design is the process of producing a description of the implementation of the database on secondary storage; it describes the base tables, file organizations, and indexes used to achieve efficient access to the data, and any ...
