Greek Word Devil
Devil
The word devil is defined as an evil spirit, a devil, the devil, false God, demon, diabolical person. The
word originated from Latin word diabolus . In Hebrew another term used for the word devil is Satan,
which means accuser slanderer. The Latin word is from the religious Greek word diabolos, Jewish and
Christians use the term Devil and Satan or Lucifer. The devil is depicted as an evil being, that is often
pictured obtaining a human form but with a tail and horns. The bible first mentions the devil to be a
serpent in the garden of Eden persuading Eve to eat the fruit from forbidden tree knowledge of good
and evil in the book of Genesis 3:14; And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast

Etiquette And Ejustice Behavior In Society
Etiquette is the customary code of polite behavior in society or among members of a particular
profession or group and it is very important because it shows other people respect and consideration. It
also makes them happy that we are with them. Without proper etiquette, people would act less like
people, and more like animals. Being polite and courteous means considering how others are feeling,
which can mean the difference between success and failure between many aspects of life.
The basics of proper etiquette, surely everyone has heard. Some examples of basic proper etiquette are
taking your elbows off the table if they make the table rock, putting your napkin in your lap, using the
flatware beginning from the farthest from the plate, and of course, do not chew with your mouth full.
Other examples that should be practiced more are arriving on time, keeping personal space, and acting
like a gentleman/lady.
In one culture, what may be excellent etiquette, may be shocking in another. Etiquette evolves within
culture. For example, in Hausa culture, eating while standing is seen as offensively casual and ill
mannered, insulting the host ad showing lack of respect for the food is known as eating with the devil.
In China, taking the last item of food without offering it to others first is insulting to the host s
generosity.
Communicating also involves etiquette because a successful business relies on communication in
order to establish partnerships and market to

Fantasia Movie Comparison
Absolute film was a movement created by a group of artists in Germany in the 1920 s (Wikipedia).
Hans Richter, Walter Ruttman, Oskar Fischinger, and Viking Eggeling were the pioneers who created
absolute film, and all of them had artistic backgrounds besides Fischinger. Most cinematic projects
have a story line, and something you follow through, but with absolute film it is quite the opposite.
Absolute film depended solely on the artist s vision and imagination for the film. It was a remarkable
revolution in cinema, that a film could be created simply off a visual spectacle with aid from auditory
music. No story line, no characters, nothing... just random images, colors, shapes flowing on the
screen to music made to evoke imagination. Fantasia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They can make it as simple and just colors flashing across the screen with no music, or as complex as
something as Fantasia. I think it s necessary because without it an expressional type of film wouldn t
exist, but I don t think filmmaking is dependent on absolute film. There were films before absolute
film and films after, but I do think it helped show a more creative side to cinema. It helped aid in
making history in cinema, and provided a different outlook to certain film features. Without absolute
film, so new film techniques might not have been discovered till way later, so I think ultimately it
helped grow the cinema field and knowledge. I am not sure why Walt Disney would put an absolute
film in a children s production. Even though Fantasia wasn t as weird as Mothlight, I feel like children
would have a hard time being interested in a film with no characters, or plot. On the other hand,
children do have short spans of attention, and sometimes can t understand difficult story lines because
of their age, so maybe this film would be interesting to them. I think Walt Disney motivation to put an
absolute film in a children s production was to simply spark

part of the interviewing process, was so impressed with Nesbitt s overall interview that at the end they
shook hands and he stated We are very impressed with you young man! How would you like a
position with our firm? To which he replies I d be honored! . After the interview, when Nesbitt was

connected to the People s Party, and thus did a vast amount of work for that party. Where as Nesbitt,
was never one to shrink from political debate , supported the Freedom Party. Which lead to the men

now stood with the law firm after their heated discussion. One week after the interview he received a
letter informing him that although he impressed them, the could not hire him because of his strong
affiliation with the Freedom party . Also, stating that if they were to hire him they would stand to lose
upwards of 50% of our valued clientele, should we begin courting ties with the Freedom Party. The
first, and most obvious course of action that Nesbitt is likely to try and take would be to sue for
discrimination. They denied him a job that he had an extremely successful interview for, and

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich
One Day in the life of Ivan Denisovich was the first novel written by the Nobel laureate Alexandr
Solzhenitsyn. It revolves around one day in the life of an inmate in a Gulag , which was a name given
to the forced labor camps in the Soviet Union. The novel is set during the winter of 1951 when the
Soviet Union was under the communist rule of Joseph Stalin. The novel can be seen as an
autobiographical account of Solzhenitsyn s life as the author was arrested for making derogatory
remarks about Stalin, following which he spent a long time in prisons and labor camps very similar to
the one described in the novel. The novel has been written in the first person narrative through the
eyes of Ivan Denisovich who is serving his eighth year of his ten year sentence. Shukhov, as Ivan

by bribing corrupt officials. The others would tend to turn very desperate. An example of this is of a
prisoner called Fetiukov, who is despised and referred to as the Jackal by his fellow prisoners. He
would lick the leftovers of the other zeks and would beg for almost anything he could get, in turn
losing his self respect and dignity among the members of his squad. There was also a lot of corruption
in the kitchens. The cooks would eat as much as their belly would , and offer extra helpings to those

The Theory Of Head Start Program
Head Start is a federally funded, education development program that was created in 1965. The
program provides education and services for eligible children from low income families. Head Start s
philosophy focuses on the development of social emotional, physical and mental health, nutrition, and
working with families and the community and stated low income people should help plan and run
their own programs (p. 41 42). Head Start has truly expanded their resources over the years by
providing a full school year for ages 3 6 years old and offering services such as health screenings,
referrals, and social services (p. 42). Most importantly, each and every Head Start program must
follow the federal Head Start Program Performace Standards that address all areas of development (p.
42). The program is truly committed to support low income families and creating an education system
that supports all aspects of the child. Urie Bronfenbrenner was one of the founders of Head Start and
adapted the Ecological Theory. The theory describes how social and cultural contexts influence a child
s development. Those contexts would include social, political, legal, and economic systems (p. 131).
According to Bronfenbrenner, he believed each system influenced eachother as well as the growth of
the child. He also believes in the importance of family, peers, community, culture, society, and the
time period (p. 131). The theory relates to the Head Start program because it discusses how society

Cause And Effect Essay On Chilean Earthquake
1 Introduction:
A natural hazard is an extreme event that occurs naturally and causes harm to humans or other things
we care about, while a Geomorphic hazard is that originating from the lithosphere including, volcanic
eruption, earthquake and tsunamis. An earthquake is a sudden violent shaking of the ground, typically
showing great destruction. This report will focus on the Great Chilean earthquake. I will report and
examine the causes, details, effects including, social, environmental and economical. I will also
examine what has been done to prepare, prevent and minimise the hazard and suggest ways to further
minimise the effects of this hazard.

Artificial Intelligence in Gibson s Idoru and Oshii s Ghost in the Shell Introduction If people knew
what scientists are up to, they would not be sleeping as calmly as they do today. If only they knew,
they would read more carefully what the cyberpunk authors have to say. The purpose of this work is
not only to compare the pictures of Artificial Intelligence (hereafter referred to simply as AI) included
in two major works of cyberpunk genre, but also to show the connection between those images and
the reality we all live in or its nearest future. So what is the future of AI depicted in cyberpunk works
like? And if, as Sterling suggests, science fiction writers pass on a cautionary message to the ... Show

A useful addition to it is provided by the author who is considered one of the founders of the genre,
William Gibson. In one of his interviews he stated that it is about the present. It s not really about an
imagined future. It s a way of trying to come to terms with the awe and terror inspired . . . by the
world in which we live (Anonymous collective work). This opinion is in accordance with the opening
quotation from Sterling. Both opinions, too, answer the question of why the examples from this
particular genre were chosen for the sake of comparison shown in this very work. Indeed, there is a
reason for doing this: the resemblance to reality cyberpunk works bear. Obviously, there are other
genre specific features that characterize cyberpunk: like the presence of the Internet (that is often
combined into one entity with virtual reality and takes up different names: Cyberspace, Matrix,
Multiverse, partly because it was invented in cyberpunk literature before it was invented in reality and
named the Internet) or the influence of almighty organizations in the form of international
corporations or mafia like criminal orders of different kinds. These elements, too, appear in the works
described herein, but they are just other elements of a picture already defined. Defining Basic Notions:

Dbq Essay On Sweatshops
Sweatshops are factories that are used around the world that major brand companies use to make
products. These factories have gained media attention and controversy for the long hours and low pay
given to the workers. Many people say to boycott these factories because of the latter reasons, but
consumers shouldn t boycott companies that make sweatshop products. The first reason consumers
shouldn t boycott these products would be people actually deliberately take these jobs because in
developing countries most jobs don t pay that much. The second reason consumers shouldn t boycott
sweatshop products would be that it allows a lot of people in the developing worlds to rise out of
poverty. To summarize, consumers do not have the ethical responsibility to boycott products made in
sweatshops. As stated in the previous paragraph, people actually take these jobs willingly because in

One point of their argument is companies exploit poor people in developing countries as said in
document 1. However, this doesn t apply to every sweatshop just a few and most people that work at
sweatshop factories taking these jobs willingly and were confused as to why people wanted to shut
down their workplaces as stated in an interview with some sweatshop workers in China. Another main
point of their argument is that conditions in these factories are abusive and horrible. However, again
many people take these jobs willingly meaning that they really don t care about these conditions
because they need money. Finally they believe that boycotting sweatshops will do something good for
the world. In the video it makes a very good point that at least sweatshops are doing something to end
global poverty while the people who are trying to boycott these sweatshops may think they are doing
something but in reality they aren t doing anything to help end global

The Effects Of Prenatal Care On Children
Discussion
Traditionally, pregnancy is a celebrated occasion but for women who live in poverty this life changing
event can be wrought with uncertainty and apprehension. Typically, new mothers living in poverty are
most likely already facing multiple stressors such as unemployment, unfavorable living conditions,
substandard environment and threats of violence. Additionally, the increased physical demands and
need for supplemental financial resources consistent with a new pregnancy are more likely to leave a
mother living in poverty feeling overwhelmed and depressed. One of the ways expanded Medicaid
coverage can reduce this burden is by facilitating improved access to medical care for both the mother
and her unborn child.
Multiple definitive studies have proven that mothers who have access to adequate prenatal care have
fewer miscarriages, less birth defects and give birth to healthier babies. The United States, despite
being one of the richest countries in the world has a lower rate of infant survival when compared to
other developed nations and decreased access to prenatal care exacerbates this statistic. Prenatal care
not only gives new mothers access to medical, education and nutritional resources but serves an
opportunity to identify babies at risk for delivering preterm or suffer from low birth weight (Alexander
Cornely, 1986). Data derived from the 1980 National Natality Survey associated a higher instance of
low birth weight with inadequate prenatal

What we see on the outside is not always what is felt or endured on the inside. The real truth about a
person can be hidden, manipulated, sometimes even forgotten in the back of the person s mind. This
truth is masked, and it is not always easy to be unearthed. This is ordinary. There is not one person on
this planet that does not have a sort of mask obscuring a truth or secret that is unknown to the people
around them. People living before our generation, like the Himmlers, had secrets. People living now

Uses of Voice Over Internet Protocol
VOIP: Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) can be defined as a series of technologies and technique
that is used for release of voice communications and multimedia through Internet Protocol networks.
In some cases, this technique is referred to as a means of converting analog audio signals into digital
data that can be delivered through an Internet Protocol. The use of the technique is attributed to its
ability to transform standard Internet connection into a platform for free phone calls. In the past few
years, Voice over Internet Protocol has emerged as an innovative technology with the capability of
completely transforming phone systems across the globe. As a result, VoIP providers have not only
existed for a considerable period of time but are also growing steadily. However, the use of VoIP to
rework modern phone systems is characterized by several advantages and disadvantages.
Use of VoIP: The use of Voice over Internet Protocol is primarily an intelligent re invention of the
wheel in the world s phone systems. Generally, this technique involves transmitting voice information
in digital format in distinct packets instead of using the conventional circuit committed protocols of
the public switched telephone network ( VoIP (voice over IP) , n.d.). This technique was developed
following initiatives by major equipment providers to enhance the use of standard measures for
transmitting voice and video using Internet Protocol within an intranet and across the public

The Mistakes Of Hester Prynne And Monica Lewinsky
Public humiliation has changed immensely weighing heavily on the creation of the internet
introducing the idea of online cyberbullying as opposed to scaffolding in a town square. As modern
society revels in putting people on a public pedestal, the scaffold that Hester Prynne is put onto marks
her as no longer a person with feelings, just as a negative figure people look upon to make themselves
feel higher. After the news broke of Monica Lewinsky s scandal, people no longer recognized her as a
young adult who makes mistakes, but was treated like a person with no emotions and incapable of
being affected by her mistakes. As the story went on throughout the internet, she was only represented
as a person through the mistake she made just as Hester Prynne was recognized for the crime she
committed. Publicly shaming Hester Prynne and Monica Lewinsky is and was a way for people to

The Uniform Crime Report And Crime Statistics
The Uniform Crime Report represents police reported crime statistics. It includes a number of reported
offences, actual offences, offences cleared by charge, and offences cleared otherwise (Morden, H. K.
and Palys, T., 2015). The police reported crime statistics best represent the positivist perspective. It is
not biased, and complete, accurate, and standardized to facilitate temporal and spatial comparisons
(Morden, H. K. and Palys, T., 2015). It also believes that Criminal Code reflects society s collective
social values, and therefore considers crime statistics generated by the criminal justice system and
governmental agencies such as Statistics Canada unbiased measures of societal crime and criminality

It did not ask police to report victim or incident characteristics, had limited number of offence codes,
and had no ability to add offence codes for new crimes (such as cybercrime) created through
legislation (Morden, H. K. and Palys, T., 2015). Due to the fact that the Uniform Crime Report is
reported by the police, there has to be a witness that is willing to call the police and report the crime.
In many cases, because of cultural differences, the crime may not even be recognized as illegal
(Morden, H. K. and Palys, T., 2015). For example, money is stolen from a person, but that person
doesn t recognize it or think that he/she might have lost it (Morden, H. K. and Palys, T., 2015). Even
after the police decides to respond to the crime, the police can decide whether or not they want to clear
this case according to the seriousness of the crime. In some cases, the police let go of the offender
because they don t think it s worth it to write a long report on it (Morden, H. K. and Palys, T., 2015).
In the end, the official statistic is reduced as a result of the crime funnel, which is the number of cases
that are filtered out in the criminal justice process (Morden, H. K. and Palys, T., 2015).
Besides the Uniform Crime Report, there are other ways to measure crime. The victimization survey
in which a sample of citizen is asked to answer information about experiences with crime and the
criminal justice system using a cross sectional

Neuman Systems Model
Neuman systems model. The NSM identifies that any system has boundaries meant to protect a single
client, family, or social issue within the system (Neuman Fawcett, 2011). The model is dynamic with a
continuum of variables that influence the stability of the system. The influence, such as stressors, can
alter the system or restore the system. A principle of the NSM is optimal wellness represented as the
greatest degree of system stability (Neuman Fawcett, 2011). The NSM theory asserts nursing to care
for a complex systsem, requiring an approach to assimilate and adapt into the system. The NSM
utilizes the internal and external cues of the environment to influence the system. The nature of the
system determines the complexity of the system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
NSM depicts stress and reaction to the stability of stress on the system. A patient and/or family
reaction to the transition from oncology care to hypervigilance in primary care can experience stress,
most often as psychological distress. The repeated cyclical nature of the response to the stresses of
changed home life, family functioning, body image, handling daily activities, or connecting with a
support group changes the client. The ideal of NSM is to attain optimal stability and reach a new
developmental level (Neuman Fawcett, 2011). NSM fits the need of the PICO project through the
interpretation of concepts and the dynamic nature of stressors and reactions to the basic structure
(patient and/or family). A key component in utilization of the NSM for screening psychological
distress after oncology care, is self report of the instability of transition to a new lifestyle. Cancer
related psychological distress is widespread (Hoffman, 2012). The distress can remain hidden as
priorities in cancer rehabilitation and family adjustment take place. The initial stressor of the cancer
diagnosis creates a change in the patient and/or family (basic structure functioning and energy
resources), however after cancer treatment (variables), the client system (patient and/or family) still is
adjusting to change (lines of resistance). Patients and families may not go back to their prior life
(environment) but transition into a new

we get all our knowledge from our genes. It s the biological side to this theory but, there s also an
environmental side to this theory. The environmental side is the nurture portion to this theory. Nurture
says that we get all of our knowledge through experiences. Also where, who, and how we grow up.
The Bad Seed does support the Nature Nurture Theory because it provides evidence that it could be
nature or nurture in Rhoda s situation. This movie provides a great example of nature because
Christine, Rhonda s mother, find s out she was adopted and that Bessie Denker, her biological mother,
was a well known killer. Christine

Dear White People Race
I went and researched all four movies Athena Cinema, on Court Street, has to offer. I chose Dear
White People because the title itself focuses on race. The term racism is defined as an irrational belief
in the superiority of a given group, nation, or people usually one s own. Dear White People is the
name of a controversial radio program where Samantha White broadcasted. Samantha White is a
college student at Winchester University. Samantha White s scandalous radio show is blown of out
proportion throughout the university s college students. At the beginning of the movie, Samantha

The History Of Product Design
The history of product design is a fickle subject. Through the years, the wheel has been invented and
re invented many a time. That is because design is fluid. But at the same time, design is constant.
Often the past inspires the present. Even more, the ideas of what the future can hold can end up
creating the future of design. These design ideas can be seen trickling into both the works of Vico
Magistretti and James Dyson. Often it is said that no one creates anything new anymore. It is true that
you can t reinvent the wheel, but it can certainly be seen that designs from the past often inspire the
future of design. Designs by Vico Magistretti in the 20th century have similar aesthetics to the designs
of James Dyson, a 21st century inventor, and designer. Designs of James Dyson show that the present
is rooted in the past. Designs and products of Vico Magistretti show that simple designs are timeless.
Designs and products of James Dyson show that basic design philosophies are often repeated through
time.
Vico Magistretti is best known not just as an industrial designer, but as an architect as well. It actually
seems like a natural combination. Even Frank Lloyd Wright is known to have designed the entire
living experience surrounding his architectural planning. While Magistretti did not so far as to even
design the clothes the homeowners were to wear, it only makes sense that Magistretti would envision
his designs housed within yet another one of his designs.

1) Select a technology from 1850 to the present. Describe how it has affected productivity
A technology that comes to mind is server virtualization. We use them every day in the government as
we work toward going green, lower cost, increasing productivity. Since the migration to the virtual
servers we were able to cut paper files by ¾. We use a digital contract file now instead of a 6 pile
folder with hundreds of page. Another reason the army has choosing to go this way is so it can spread
the cost of maintenance and repair across several customers with shared servers. This results in a

(3) The computer especially the PC is believed to be responsible for much of the increased
productivity in the 1990s. What do think will be the next big thing to have a major impact on national

The next big thing that will have a major impact on the national and global productivity is the
advancements in wireless technology. In today s time there are millions of mobile professionals
worldwide due to the major strides that the wireless community has taken. Organizations use wireless
technologies to solve every day problems and create an advantage over their companion. Using
wireless technologies help them work more productively, by having better customer satisfaction,
which means an increase of sales. Organization is finding that wireless has provided more flexibility
to configure an office and can improve both the productivity and the moral in the work place.

Limitations Of Social Identity Theory
Introduction
Social identity theory proposed by Tajfel Turner (2004) is a theory of group membership and
behaviour which has made significant contributions in explaining in group favouritism, out group
denigration, competition and other interactions of an individual among social groups (Korte, 2007;
Brown, 2000; Tajfel Turner, 2004). Social identity theory can be defined as an individual s sense of
who they are based on the group that they belong to through a process of self categorisation and
depersonalisation (Tajfel Turner, 2004). In this essay, I will define social identity theory through its
three mental processes involved in group evaluation which are: social identification which is a process
whereby we are placed into certain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, a female individual who believes in feminism will most likely identify higher with a
group of feminists than a group of females that are ant feminist. This strength in social identification
leads to in group favouritism whereby members see the members of their group in a positive manner
and see members of other groups in a negative or denigrative manner (Swann Jr et al., 2009). Through
the process of depersonalisation. self categorisation and group membership, an individual develops a
social identity that serves as a social cognitive schema for behaviours that are related to the group
(Korte, 2007; Swann Jr et al., 2009).
Depersonalisation occurs when an individual identifies with a certain group as he/she adopts the group
s identity wherein his/her personal identity takes less priority and he/she tends to downplay his/her s
own personal attributes in favour of acquiring the group s attributes (Swann Jr et al., 2009; Korte,
2007). An individual constructs meaning of this social identity through self categorisation and adopts
the appropriate behaviour that is expected and utilised within the group (Korte, 2007). This further
suggests that individuals have the tendency to display behaviours that the group they identify with
displays even if it conflicts with their personal identity (Korte, 2007). Also, the more salient an
individual s social identity, the more likely the

Personal Political Beliefs
The saying the personal is political or the private is political is theory that was used as a rallying
slogan for second wave feminism as well for a student movement. This theory started as a way to
change the nuclear family values and now it has developed into something more for feminism and for
political ideologies being closely interconnected. Personally, I completely agree with the statement
that the personal is political . It would be hard, in my opinion, to separate your personal beliefs on
your political ideologies. That is like saying you love chocolate but not chocolate cake, even though
they are basically the same things. One s personal beliefs must influence their political beliefs and vice
versa. For example, I would personally never have an abortion, but I believe everyone has the right to
be able to choose for themselves, because I respect that everyone has a choice. Which is why I would
choose to vote for a pro choice candidate, because of my beliefs. This is an extremely important
notion to understand. Politics are vastly important. If more people understood this idea, then I believe
more people would become involved in politics. There is no way to separate one s opinions and
political ideas, because our opinions on those topics stem from the political ideas and the fact that we
have to choose either one or the other. All the hot topics have become highly politicized, so how could
one not have an opinion on them? One cannot be indifferent on healthcare,

Bird Life In The Daintree Rainforest
Evolution is the process by which a population shows heritable genetic changes over a period of time.
Hypothetically, a unique bird adapted to the rainforest and passed on those traits to the next
generation. This bird lacks feathers, swims, and uses its extra sharp beak in order to survive in a rainy,
humid, and tropical environment with other animals. If the bird lives in the Daintree Rainforest, it
would have to adapt to an average of 2013 mm of rain per year, about 120 days of rain each year, and
floods due to the heavy rain. With this abundance of water, flora and fauna thrive. Fruit, flowers,
insects and spiders, baby opossums, and lizards are available for our featherless bird. Although, it

What Does Forgetting A Memory Represent
Possible thesis: Current situations are a result of the past, but the true events of the past are subject to
distortion from time and human manipulation.
Historical Background
Setting: Macondo
Founded by Jose Arcadio Buendia, the town of Macondo experiences growth and decay throughout
the course of the novel. Initially the world untouched by humanity at large and was so recent [that]
many things lacked names (Marquez 1). This state purity quickly disappears as ripples of political
unrest begin to affect Macondo, inciting a revolution. The town s isolated nature makes it fall victim
to the imperialistic hegemony of outsiders (Gray). Macondo acts as symbol for much of the political
and economic unrest that Latin American countries experienced in the nineteenth and twentieth
centuries.
Setting: Ayemenem
It s set in twentieth century Kerala region of India. This area still contains a strong Marxist sentiment

The Reflection Of Being A Group Of My Friends
On Friday October 20, I decided that it would be the perfect opportunity to observe a group of my
friends. I chose this group because I have known them for a number of years now, and I have never
allowed myself the opportunity to truly observe them, and I felt this would be a perfectly fascinating
opportunity to examine them from a pure sociological perspective. I have enjoyed their company, and
who they all are, but I thought it would be interesting to see how our group functions and tends to
interact with one another. Each and every one of these particular members of my friend group are
rather intriguing. They are all very intelligent people with a decent sense of humor, and complex
personalities all around. I expected to discover some interesting things about my friends, as I have
observed them before, but never like this. I was hopeful, that I might discover some further insight
that might explain how our groups tends to function. I felt encouraged to analyze certain aspects of
their individual personalities, and to see how they interact with one another to form our group
dynamic, utilizing the dramaturgical perspective. In addition, I specifically concentrated my efforts on
looking at four elements of theater which are: costumes, actors, audience, and script. In order to best
lay a foundation for the scene that I observed, I will describe what it was specifically that I observed
on this particular occasion. I arrived at my friend Aisha s house on Friday evening, as we planned on
having a little get together with two of our mutual friends Kayla, and Brittany. All three of them were
already there by the time I got there, as I had work that evening. When I stepped inside, they were all
standing around Aisha s counter giggling, and talking about a new guy that Brittany had met earlier in
the day. All three of them were dressed pretty casually, as Brittany and Kayla both had on sweaters
and jeans. Aisha was dressed a little more formally, as she was wearing her work clothes still, which
included a skirt, white blouse, and heels. Aisha stood tall above the rest of us, and is the oldest being

Bitter Is The New Black Analysis
Bitter is the New Black I chose to read the first in a series of memoirs authored by Jen Lancaster,

about how her life drastically changed after the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. The largest
change being that she was terminated from her place of work, making her lavish way of living no

The Late And Post Renaissance
The late and post renaissance was a time dominated by the Medici family, but many other Italian
families had their time in power. As the late renaissance ended and the post renaissance era started, the
Corsini family gained power and influence under the Medici. With banks in England, offices around
Europe, and palazzos in Italy, the family made fast and large steps toward gaining influence and
relevance in Italy. While they earned respect on the financial side, they also progressed on the
religious side, thus earning them nearly the same amount of power and influence as their Medici
counterparts. The Corsini family maintained their status during the Medici rule by developing a high

Currently in the United states there are over 18,000 firearm laws in place. The first federally mandated
firearm law was the National Firearm Act of 1934. This firearm act, which is still in place today,
required a Federal Firearms License to be obtained by anyone in the business of buying, selling, and

with the Secretary of the Treasury. NFA firearms at the creation of the NFA included rifles and
shotguns with a barrel length under 18 inches, machine guns, and firearm silencers. To purchase any
of these firearms a $200.00 tax was imposed on every transaction with one of these firearms in an
effort to prevent criminals from purchasing such firearms as they were said to have been popular with

The main purpose of this visit was to cut and burn the buckthorn trees which have dominated the

this area were mostly young with population of high density in certain areas and the range of their
occupied area was from entrance of the forest up to one quarter of the area at the end of the savanna.
The buckthorns were cut and by aligning them on the fire place against the direction of the wind then

The Latin word is from the religious Greek word diabolos, Jewish and Christians use the term Devil and Satan or Lucifer. • 3. Etiquette And Ejustice Behavior In Society Etiquette is the customary code of polite behavior in society or among members of a particular profession or group and it is very important because it shows other people respect and consideration. It also makes them happy that we are with them. Without proper etiquette, people would act less like people, and more like animals. Being polite and courteous means considering how others are feeling, which can mean the difference between success and failure between many aspects of life. The basics of proper etiquette, surely everyone has heard. Some examples of basic proper etiquette are taking your elbows off the table if they make the table rock, putting your napkin in your lap, using the flatware beginning from the farthest from the plate, and of course, do not chew with your mouth full. Other examples that should be practiced more are arriving on time, keeping personal space, and acting like a gentleman/lady. In one culture, what may be excellent etiquette, may be shocking in another. Etiquette evolves within culture. For example, in Hausa culture, eating while standing is seen as offensively casual and ill mannered, insulting the host ad showing lack of respect for the food is known as eating with the devil. In China, taking the last item of food without offering it to others first is insulting to the host s generosity. Communicating also involves etiquette because a successful business relies on communication in order to establish partnerships and market to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Fantasia Movie Comparison Absolute film was a movement created by a group of artists in Germany in the 1920 s (Wikipedia). Hans Richter, Walter Ruttman, Oskar Fischinger, and Viking Eggeling were the pioneers who created absolute film, and all of them had artistic backgrounds besides Fischinger. Most cinematic projects have a story line, and something you follow through, but with absolute film it is quite the opposite. Absolute film depended solely on the artist s vision and imagination for the film. It was a remarkable revolution in cinema, that a film could be created simply off a visual spectacle with aid from auditory music. No story line, no characters, nothing... just random images, colors, shapes flowing on the screen to music made to evoke imagination. Fantasia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They can make it as simple and just colors flashing across the screen with no music, or as complex as something as Fantasia. I think it s necessary because without it an expressional type of film wouldn t exist, but I don t think filmmaking is dependent on absolute film. There were films before absolute film and films after, but I do think it helped show a more creative side to cinema. It helped aid in making history in cinema, and provided a different outlook to certain film features. Without absolute film, so new film techniques might not have been discovered till way later, so I think ultimately it helped grow the cinema field and knowledge. I am not sure why Walt Disney would put an absolute film in a children s production. Even though Fantasia wasn t as weird as Mothlight, I feel like children would have a hard time being interested in a film with no characters, or plot. On the other hand, children do have short spans of attention, and sometimes can t understand difficult story lines because of their age, so maybe this film would be interesting to them. I think Walt Disney motivation to put an absolute film in a children s production was to simply spark ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also, stating that if they were to hire him they would stand to lose upwards of 50% of our valued clientele, should we begin courting ties with the Freedom Party. Artificial Intelligence in Gibson s Idoru and Oshii s Ghost in the Shell Introduction If people knew what scientists are up to, they would not be sleeping as calmly as they do today. If only they knew, they would read more carefully what the cyberpunk authors have to say. The purpose of this work is not only to compare the pictures of Artificial Intelligence (hereafter referred to simply as AI) included in two major works of cyberpunk genre, but also to show the connection between those images and the reality we all live in or its nearest future. So what is the future of AI depicted in cyberpunk works like? And if, as Sterling suggests, science fiction writers pass on a cautionary message to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A useful addition to it is provided by the author who is considered one of the founders of the genre, William Gibson. In one of his interviews he stated that it is about the present. It s not really about an imagined future. It s a way of trying to come to terms with the awe and terror inspired . . . by the world in which we live (Anonymous collective work). This opinion is in accordance with the opening quotation from Sterling. Both opinions, too, answer the question of why the examples from this particular genre were chosen for the sake of comparison shown in this very work. Indeed, there is a reason for doing this: the resemblance to reality cyberpunk works bear. Obviously, there are other genre specific features that characterize cyberpunk: like the presence of the Internet (that is often combined into one entity with virtual reality and takes up different names: Cyberspace, Matrix, Multiverse, partly because it was invented in cyberpunk literature before it was invented in reality and named the Internet) or the influence of almighty organizations in the form of international corporations or mafia like criminal orders of different kinds. These elements, too, appear in the works described herein, but they are just other elements of a picture already defined. These factories have gained media attention and controversy for the long hours and low pay given to the workers. Many people say to boycott these factories because of the latter reasons, but consumers shouldn t boycott companies that make sweatshop products. The first reason consumers shouldn t boycott these products would be people actually deliberately take these jobs because in developing countries most jobs don t pay that much. The second reason consumers shouldn t boycott sweatshop products would be that it allows a lot of people in the developing worlds to rise out of poverty. • 14. The Effects Of Prenatal Care On Children Discussion Traditionally, pregnancy is a celebrated occasion but for women who live in poverty this life changing event can be wrought with uncertainty and apprehension. Typically, new mothers living in poverty are most likely already facing multiple stressors such as unemployment, unfavorable living conditions, substandard environment and threats of violence. Additionally, the increased physical demands and need for supplemental financial resources consistent with a new pregnancy are more likely to leave a mother living in poverty feeling overwhelmed and depressed. One of the ways expanded Medicaid coverage can reduce this burden is by facilitating improved access to medical care for both the mother and her unborn child. Multiple definitive studies have proven that mothers who have access to adequate prenatal care have fewer miscarriages, less birth defects and give birth to healthier babies. The United States, despite being one of the richest countries in the world has a lower rate of infant survival when compared to other developed nations and decreased access to prenatal care exacerbates this statistic. Prenatal care not only gives new mothers access to medical, education and nutritional resources but serves an opportunity to identify babies at risk for delivering preterm or suffer from low birth weight (Alexander Cornely, 1986). For example, money is stolen from a person, but that person doesn t recognize it or think that he/she might have lost it (Morden, H. K. and Palys, T., 2015). But at the same time, design is constant. Often the past inspires the present. Even more, the ideas of what the future can hold can end up creating the future of design. These design ideas can be seen trickling into both the works of Vico Magistretti and James Dyson. Often it is said that no one creates anything new anymore. It is true that you can t reinvent the wheel, but it can certainly be seen that designs from the past often inspire the future of design. Designs by Vico Magistretti in the 20th century have similar aesthetics to the designs of James Dyson, a 21st century inventor, and designer. Designs of James Dyson show that the present is rooted in the past. Designs and products of Vico Magistretti show that simple designs are timeless. Designs and products of James Dyson show that basic design philosophies are often repeated through time. Social identity theory can be defined as an individual s sense of who they are based on the group that they belong to through a process of self categorisation and depersonalisation (Tajfel Turner, 2004). This strength in social identification leads to in group favouritism whereby members see the members of their group in a positive manner and see members of other groups in a negative or denigrative manner (Swann Jr et al., 2009). Through the process of depersonalisation. self categorisation and group membership, an individual develops a social identity that serves as a social cognitive schema for behaviours that are related to the group (Korte, 2007; Swann Jr et al., 2009). Depersonalisation occurs when an individual identifies with a certain group as he/she adopts the group s identity wherein his/her personal identity takes less priority and he/she tends to downplay his/her s own personal attributes in favour of acquiring the group s attributes (Swann Jr et al., 2009; Korte, 2007). An individual constructs meaning of this social identity through self categorisation and adopts the appropriate behaviour that is expected and utilised within the group (Korte, 2007). This further suggests that individuals have the tendency to display behaviours that the group they identify with displays even if it conflicts with their personal identity (Korte, 2007). Personal Political Beliefs The saying the personal is political or the private is political is theory that was used as a rallying slogan for second wave feminism as well for a student movement. This theory started as a way to change the nuclear family values and now it has developed into something more for feminism and for political ideologies being closely interconnected. Personally, I completely agree with the statement that the personal is political . It would be hard, in my opinion, to separate your personal beliefs on your political ideologies. That is like saying you love chocolate but not chocolate cake, even though they are basically the same things. One s personal beliefs must influence their political beliefs and vice versa. If more people understood this idea, then I believe more people would become involved in politics. There is no way to separate one s opinions and political ideas, because our opinions on those topics stem from the political ideas and the fact that we have to choose either one or the other. I have enjoyed their company, and who they all are, but I thought it would be interesting to see how our group functions and tends to interact with one another. Each and every one of these particular members of my friend group are rather intriguing. They are all very intelligent people with a decent sense of humor, and complex personalities all around. I expected to discover some interesting things about my friends, as I have observed them before, but never like this. I was hopeful, that I might discover some further insight that might explain how our groups tends to function. I felt encouraged to analyze certain aspects of their individual personalities, and to see how they interact with one another to form our group dynamic, utilizing the dramaturgical perspective. In order to best lay a foundation for the scene that I observed, I will describe what it was specifically that I observed on this particular occasion.
