Object Analysis Oinochoe
Billie Ingram Sofokleous bi387 Object Description
The object is an Ancient Greek ceramic pot known as an Attic vase produced using clay. Having
looked on the British Museum database, a stamnos 1 vase used for storing liquids. The vase was
decorated using a fine clay slip...a liquid mixture of clay and water which would eventually turn black
during the firing process 2.
The shape of the vase is squat and a rounded hollow shape with stout handles that curl upwards to help
with handling. It looks to be high sided and broad shouldered for a functional purpose. It has a low
foot and low red waved patterned neck described as maeanders 3 and lip. After looking on the British
Museum website, the image is seen with a decorative lid that is substantial to ensure the protection of
its contents. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Creating A Distributed Operating Systems That Support...
Abstract IT industry being one of the major development areas, many people choose their career in it.
To support all range of industries i.e., from small scale to large scale, cloud computing emerged which
reduces the efforts both physically and with regard to capital investment. Depending on the length of
work that one would like to choose with, cloud computing offers four types of delivery models
namely, public cloud , private cloud , community cloud and hybrid cloud . User is also free to choose
the amount of control one would like to have on their data that is stored in the cloud. The cloud
providers offer three types of services which give users different types of permissions. More
permissions the user hold, the more control and privacy obtained on the data. The data being shared
among the open space is less secured. Cloud computing involving different technologies like
networks, databases, operating systems and many other, has enormous security issues. In perspective
to the designing of a distributed operating systems that support cloud computing, resource scheduling,
transaction management, load balancing, concurrency control, memory management are some of the
major issues that are to be considered. Scalability, loss of data, performance also stand as the other
major concerns due to the heavy growth of organizations which are using the cloud. This paper
discusses about the several mechanisms that are to be undertaken to improve the functionality of the
operating

Barbary Coast War Essay
The Barbary Coast War We ve finally put those pirates to a stop. It was all hard effort for our warriors.
The cause of this conflict may have been because of how powerful we were after the revolutionary
war. This warfare was along the Mediterranean Sea. For some reason, the Barbary States, such as
Tunisia, Algiers, Morocco, and Tripoli, felt that the American merchant ships should ve been
destroyed. They also felt that the sailors aboard the merchant ships should ve been held ransom. So as
the years continued, they would attack American and European ships which traded certain goods
around Europe. European governments decided to pay the Barbary States tribute, which was money
paid to another country in return ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were many battles on the coast of the Barbary States. One major battle took place on February
16, 1804, along the Tripoli harbor. The U.S warship Philadelphia began to sink near the Tripoli coast.
Its sailors were already held captive, as the pirates tried to use the ship. There was about 307 of the
sailors who were held captive. There was a great chance that the pirates were from Tripoli. Lieutenant
Stephen Decatur, a well known leading sailor, saw this as a problem. Even though the pirates had
already took the ship, he didn t want them to use Philadelphia. Lieutenant Decatur decided to burn
down the Philadelphia so that it wouldn t be used by the pirates. The American sailors were still
aboard and imprisoned by the pirates as Decatur burned it down. He had no choice but to destroy the
ship led by the cruel pirates. This was a major battle of the Barbary Coast War and is very popular
today. Though it was a major battle, it wasn t the end of The Barbary Wars. The ending of the wars
was a joyful ending. Earlier this year, a small clan of American marines marched 600 miles through
the rough Sahara and captured Tripoli. This was a major victory that inspired the U.S to have
confidence with foreign threats to our security and our

ENVIRONMENT OF BUSINESS
ASSIGNMENT
Describe 6 Forces that Operation
Managers go for or look out for in the Environment of their Businesses or Organizations.
There are many forces that Operations managers go for or look for in their business environments.
They Include:
1. Threat of New Entrants
The easier it is for new companies to enter the industry, the more cut throat competition there will be.
Factors that can limit the threat of new entrants are known as barriers to entry. Some examples
include:
Existing loyalty to major brands
Incentives for using a particular buyer (such as frequent shopper programs)
High fixed costs
Scarcity of resources
Government restrictions or legislation
Entry protection ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

3. Power of Suppliers
This is how much pressure suppliers can place on a business. If one supplier has a large enough
impact to affect a company s margins and volumes, then they hold substantial power. Here are a few
reasons that suppliers might have power:
There are very few suppliers of a particular product
There are no substitutes
The product is extremely important to the buyer, they cannot do without it
The supplying industry has a higher profitability than the buying industry
Supplier switching costs relative to firm switching costs
Degree of differentiation of inputs
Presence of substitute inputs
Supplier concentration to firm concentration ratio
Threat of forward integration by suppliers relative to the threat of backward integration by firms
Cost of inputs relative to selling price of the product
4. Power of Buyers/ Customers
This is how much pressure customers can place on a business. If one customer has a large enough
impact to affect a company s margins and volumes, then they hold substantial power. Here are a few
reasons that customers might have power
Small number of buyers
Purchases of large volumes
Switching to another (competitive) product is simple
The product is not extremely important to the buyer, they can do without it for a period of time.

Essay on How To Wash A Car
How to wash a car
There is many different ways to wash a car, but here is the correct way that generally works for the
majority of people. Washing a car thoroughly takes five different steps to complete a clean exterior.
Step1: Wheels are a good place to start, because the cleaning products for wheels work best on dry
surfaces. Spray on the solution as directed by the instructions, and see if the dirt and dust is removed.
Use a little more spray in bad areas to help get the wheels completely clean. Try and get all road grime
and grease off of the wheels. Use a soft brush to clean cracks and crevices on the wheels, but don t
scrub too hard. If you have alloy wheels, make sure that the cleaner is safe for the clear coat that may
be on it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next fill the bucket with the recommended ratio of water and soap. Using hot water will affect the cars
wax so be sure to use cool water. Don t use more soap than the instructions say to use, because more
soap removes more wax. If possible use less soap to help save your car.
Step4: Since there s more dirt on a car s sides and panels, use two plans. First, work from top to
bottom of the car. Secondly, switch to a separate mitt or towel when getting to the bottom of the car,
where there are dirtier areas. Switching to different mitts or towels keeps scratches to a minimum that
is why it is important to do so. Thoroughly wet down the section of the car about to be washed, and
dunk the cleaning mitt or soft cotton towel into the soap bucket. Wipe gently cleaning the roof, hood,
and trunk of the car. Make sure to dunk the mitt or towel frequently, and shake it in the soap bucket to
let the grime wash out. Rinse each surface after it s been washed by lightly misting it off with the
hose. Rinsing as you finish washing is very important. Don t wash a section and then leave it to wash
another section this is very bad practice. The dirty soap can dry on the surface of the car, and then you
re back where you started!
Step5: Dry the surfaces of the car in the same order that you washed them. Move the towels around
gently not to scratch anything. Take a clean cotton towel or chamois and lay it on the surface to blot
up the water. Switch

The Field Of Medicine Study Biology
[T]raditional education has students focusing on one career at a time, generally encompassing a very
specific field of interest. Students interested in the field of medicine study biology and don t generally
study much outside of science. Or, students interested in music study musical theory and learn several
different instruments they don t cross over into other fields of thought. This type of learning, however,
really doesn t reflect the way the world works. It doesn t even properly reflect human experience:
many students are puzzled when it comes to choosing a field of study. They settle on one because
there hasn t been an option available that combines their interests in a practical way, or it simply isn t
shown to them.
The interactions of this world, however, revolve around many different fields of thought combining
and working together. People nowadays need to be educated in a way that properly represents this
experience: the big picture experience. They need to be able to look to the future, expand horizons,
and combine fields of interest and thought to reach a new level of innovation in today s world.
In the fall of 2014, a new undergraduate program was created for just this kind of education. The
University of Southern California has established the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy
for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation thanks to a $70 million gift from Jimmy Ioving
and Andre Dr. Dre Young. This new program represents everything that

WOW, that is a lot of patients! This week s lessons discusses the evolving role of the school nurse not
only attending the students needs but involvement in policy making activities at both the local and
state levels (CCN, 2015) The question proposed in this week s lesson regarding some of the roles for
the community health nurses is also applicable to the school nurse. The school nurse is the clinician,
case manager, advocate, educator, researcher, administrator, change agent, case finder, coordinator and
consultant in order to meet the complex needs of students.
According to Nies McEwen, many of today s health challenges are different from those of the past and
include behaviors and risks linked to the leading causes of death such as heart disease, injuries, and
cancer. In the suburb that I live in there has been no violence reported by students in the school system
that my daughter is a fifth grade teacher. I think the locale of the school system can increase potential
risk for violence. In the school system that my daughter is a teacher she says that they deal more with
behavior problems and lack of parental involvement in the child s progress. There are more students
that are being treated with mental illness at such an early age. She had one child that was diagnoses as
a bipolar. There have been several cases of child abuse that she has had to report. She feels a

I ve chosen the Starbucks Corporation on which to do my case assignment for the session. I first
became interested in Starbucks while working on a paper for a previous marketing class. I became
intrigued at the entrepreneurial spirit that such a large corporation had managed to maintain
throughout its massive expansion. Starbucks corporation, unlike many of its now defunct rivals, has
done an outstanding job since its meager beginnings in 1970 with the execution of its strategic
process; resulting in it currently owning 40% of the specialty coffee market and boosting annual sales
exceeding $7 billion according to Burt Helm. Historic successes and recent turmoil within the
company, including a near 40% decline in 2007 in profits (Sullivan ... Show more content on

Essentially what Falletta is saying is that by determining what or where an organization is at, as far as
infrastructure, procedures, leadership, etc. its leadership can determine what changes need to be made
to achieve the desired objectives. Another important benefit of conducting analysis is that Diagnosis
confirms that a problem actually exists (Faletta 3). In conducting such an analysis, a business can
search out the underlying or root causes and then use this information to inform members on how to
make the necessary changes. A third point to consider is to look at the business as one whole entity
and not the sum of its individual parts. Faletta states that business analysis should occur similar to the
medical profession in which a physician takes a holistic view of the patient. They do not simply look
at a runny nose and bad cough and think that there must be a problem with the individual s nose and
lungs. They look at all symptoms, how they are related, and what course of action is required to
remedy all associated symptoms of a common cold. A final important reason to conduct analysis is to
determine if the changes made to the organization are actually working. Mavis Gallant once stated,
Success can only be measured in the terms of distance traveled . Such is the case with business, unless
the business knows its starting point, it can have no way to determine if it s

School Lunch Programs For Children
Every day, millions of school children around the world take advantage of school lunch programs.
Depending on the financial situation of their families, some of these students may qualify to get these
lunches for free. For the poorest children, this may be the only meal they get all day. For the rest of the
children who are not living in poverty, these program allow them to purchase a hot meal during school
at a very low price. While these school lunch programs help out countless students in many countries
around the world, there are numerous problems associated with them. Often, standards for food
preparation are not high enough. In countries like America, these lunches commonly lack the proper
nutrition children need. Instead, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For many of these children, this may be the only meal they get all day. While this program could be a
life saver for millions, it is plagued with problems that pose a serious threat to the students. Various
insects are commonly found in the food, including worms. In addition, larger animals including lizards
have also been found, causing 16 students to feel dizzy. Worse still, in 2013, at least 22 children were
dead after poison in the school lunch, with dozens more hospitalized. By nightfall...officials said they
believed they had found the cause: cooking oil stored in a container formerly used for insecticides
(Harris). The problem with school lunches in India is the lack of proper storage facilities (Chatterjee).
The schools lacked the finances to have dry locations to store grain, and as a result, a lot had to be
stored in the open. Once it starts raining, the bugs move in. Additionally, the people living in these
parts of India cannot afford to throw things away. As a result, everything is reused, especially.
Unfortunately, the insecticide container was not marked properly, and therefore food products were
stored inside. The government of India had good intentions when starting this free school lunch
program. Without doubt, it prevented many children from starving to death, and set minimum
guidelines for the number of calories and protein that lunches

He uses Tribes to convey the idea that before western civilization the human race lived and functioned
as tribes. In tribes laws and physical money were not present. Instead tribes used favor and grew food
for the entire community. As time progressed tourist invaded tribes and locked the food. With food
being locked away tourist were able to control tribes and create a system in which work was used to

Contrary to Takers who have greatly influenced modern day society. Ishmael shines light on Leavers .
Leavers are people who lived with a purpose greater than the lust of exterior objects. They understood
the importance of planting and cultivating seeds for a large fruitful harvest that fed all of their people.
Leavers simply approach agriculture differently than takers. Leavers however were forced to become

The Best Key Performance Indicators For The Godiva Monitor...
In my opinion, the five best key performance indicators for the Godiva to monitor and measure on
their ecommerce website are: number of unique visitors, bounce rate, conversion rate, average order
value, and repeat customer rate.
Unique visitors counts are important in determining between new versus returning site user traffic.
This data is helpful for counting hits to the landing page, and beneficial in counting hits to other pages
within the site as well. High traffic, and high returning traffic numbers are indicative of a healthy on
line business. The more frequently a user visits the site, the more opportunity that they have to make a
purchase. George Blitzer of Kommerzen.com indicates that more than one third of traffic should
represent repeat visitors. He also notes that rewarding these visitors with a loyalty program is a great
incentive to keep them coming back.
The bounce rate will provide Godiva with the number of times a site visitor leaves their website right
away. The bounce rate is calculated by the number of website page visitors that do not engage with the
page (do not click on links, or interact with the page) before abandoning the page, divided by the total
number of visits to the page within a given time frame. When the bounce rate rises, Godiva knows that
either the site user entered the page by accident, or the site user was not interested in what they saw. A
rise in bounce rate may potentially be caused by a redesign of a website page, unappealing

Comparison Between Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber Of Fleet...
The first movie ever made was The Horse in Motion which was created by Eadweard Muybridge in
1878. I hope to see people talk about the events that happen in the movie, and how they end up
affecting the events of the story. In my speech I will analyze multiple movies, the elements in them,
and how the actions of the characters in them affect the story. I choose to do it this way, so people can
have some examples, and know things to look for. There are two movies I will mainly focus on they
are Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Pulp Fiction. I will also talk about other
movies, but they are not my main focus. I will do this do hopeful convince you that there is more to a
movie then what you can see. I shall begin every analyzation of the movies will a short summary of
them. Now with further ado I shall give a short short summary of Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber
of fleet street. There are three characters i m going to focus on in Sweeney Todd, and they are
Sweeney Todd, Lucy, and Johanna. Sweeney Todd AKA Benjamin Barker is a barber on Fleet street in
London. Lucy is Todd s wife that s her main point for now. Johanna is their daughter. Early in the
story Benjamin gets sent away by the judge who wants Lucy for himself. Lucy is then alone, and is
sent to a masquerade by the judge s assistant. Where something bad happens to her. She then later
poisons herself. Johanna was taken away by the judge and he adopted her. Fifteen years past and
Benjamin Barker comes back as Sweeney Todd. He also bring alongs Anthony who helped him on his
travels. He goes back to where is barber shop was, and meets Ms.Lovett. She tells him that Lucy
poisoned herself. Todds like i m gonna kill that judge, Which he ends up doing. Also Ms.Lovett makes
the meat pies out of humans. Now that you know the parts of the story that you need to know i can
begin the analysis. There is a crazed lady outside where Johanna is kept. Anthony talks to her and he
asked who is that lady in the window, and she knew that that was Johanna. She is then seen outside of
Ms. Lovett s meat pie shop, and says she see that sign of the devil outside of it. Ms.Lovett kicks her

Causes Of Crime Against Humanity
A crime against humanity is a crime that causes human suffering or death on a very large scale.
Genocide is an example of this. Genocide is the killing of large groups of people or ethnic groups.
There have been many cases of genocide s in the last hundreds of years and there are still some cases
of genocide presently happening in our world. Some example s of genocide or crimes against
humanity within the past 100 years consist of the Holocaust, the Rwandan Genocide s, and the Islamic
State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
First off, starting in 1939 was the Holocaust. Millions of Jews were killed off by the Nazi s, ran by
Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler had some bad experiences as a child and he blamed the Jewish peoples for
most of those. This made him gain a great hate for Jews and thought that the world would be a better
place with a master race made up of Aryan s. But not only did he want a master race, he wanted a lot
more land for his army and followers to live on. He did this by invading the Sudetenland, Poland to
make East Prussia part of mainland Germany, and remilitarized the Rhineland. This caused many
other countries anger, causing them the push back at Germany. This was the start of World War II. The
reason I bring up all of this information is to show the reasons for which other countries, such as USA,
Canada, Britain, Russia, France and many others responded to this situation in the ways that they did.
These other countries didn t like the mass genocide that Hitler was

The Destruction Of Nature In The Lord Of The Rings
...Nobody Cares For The Woods... : An Analysis Of The Destruction Of Nature In The Lord Of The
Rings If it has passed from the high and the beautiful to darkness and ruin, that was of old the fate of
Arda Marred... J.R.R. Tolkien Literature has brought awareness to the issue of the destruction of the
environment over the past century. The imagination s ability to capture this sense of holiness may also
help in a revisioning of the natural world, [in] a growing field of study called ecocriticism (Brawley
292). Many of the writers of the century used this perspective to change the views of the greater
population. For ecocritics, literature is a means to a paradigm shift... [which] replaces anthropocentric
worldviews with ecocentric worldviews, where the environment is viewed with respect (Brawley
293). The awareness helps people learn that ...[they] are living in an ecocrisis, where climate change,
extinction of species, deforestation, and overpopulation are threats to our survival... (Brawley 292).
One of the major people to take up this new form of criticism was J.R.R. Tolkien. The author always
had an affinity for trees. He explains, I am (obviously) much in love with plants and above all trees,
and have always been; and I find human maltreatment of them as hard to bear as some find ill
treatment of animals (Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien 220). Tolkien s short story Leaf By Niggle... is... about

My Wife Is A Market Analyst For A Financial Firm
My wife is a market analyst for a financial firm in Southern California. She has described to me what
it is like on the trading floor when the market takes a significant dip, or even something as bad as a
crash, on more than a few occasions. Reports come in, numbers start tumbling, and for a brief time
everyone just stares at their computer screens trying to take in all the implications of what those
numbers mean, what can be done, and how bad the situation actually is. And, obviously, some people
lose their heads. There is cursing. There is a sense of doom and a certain degree of fatalistic thinking.
Wherever you were watching the Notre Dame football team give up 36 unanswered points in 17
minutes and 45 seconds of game action between the 2nd and third quarters, you were most likely
going through a very similar experience. It was swift. It was definitive. It was hard to watch. Luckily,
the market always corrects, and the same can be done for the Notre Dame team. But, the overview of
the situation as of today is not pretty. Trending Up Notre Dame Passing Game: If you ve got stock in
the Notre Dame receivers or DeShone Kizer, you re looking pretty darn good right now. Not simply
because of the way they have played in the first three contests, but what is likely to take place over the
remainder of the season. It s become exceedingly clear that Notre Dame, on any given Saturday, will
be required to score at least five touchdowns to win football games. It is also

Emily Dickinson Poetry Analysis
Han Wei
Katherine O Callaghan
Intro to study of literature
15th November 2017
Negotiation Between Death and Eternity in Emily Dickinson s Poems
Emily Dickinson lost her father on June 16, 1874 (Sewall 69). The sudden loss of her father stunned
her and she wrote in a letter that she was wondering where he is. Without any body, I keep thinking.
What kind can that be (Letter, 471). When Dickinson s mother passed away in November of 1882,
Dickinson also wrote in a letter about her wonder at her fate and she was seeking what it means
(Letter, 815). The wonder in both letters shows that Emily Dickinson is a person who looks inward for
the mystery of death. Many of her poems convey her preoccupation with death, concern with
immortality and doubts about fulfillment beyond the grave. I will analyze I heard a Fly buzz when I
died (591) and Because I could not stop for Death (479), both of which deal with the death and
eternity. These two poems reflect the conflicting attitudes of Emily Dickinson towards afterlife.
In I heard a Fly buzz when I died (591), the narrator describes the last moments of her life and the
moment of her death. The poem begins with a startling statement that describes the moment of her
death, making readers know that she has already died. In the first stanza, it is so quiet that the narrator
can hear a fly, leading to a contrast between the stillness and the fly s buzz. And there is a simile that
the contrast is likened to the stillness in the air and heaves of storm. The simile here not only
emphasizes the silence in the room, but also leads to a further metaphor. The simile adds meaning
back onto the stillness in the room that the stillness connotes the process of death.
In the second stanza, the narrator s attention falls upon the mourners around her. She sees the
onlookers in terms of sight and sound. Their strained eyes and gathered breath imply that they have
waited for the last Onset (), which is the final moment of death, for a long time. And they are prepared
for the arrival of the King , who is the personification of death.
In the third verse, the narrator s keepsakes () have been signed away () and assigned. However, the
poem implies that what is given away

The Life Of Narcissa Whiteman
The life of Narcissa Whiteman:
1. Discuss the background, marriage, and goals of Narcissa Whitman.
Narcissa grew up in a devoted Presbyterian family, in a village of Prattsburg, New York. Narcissa was
an enthusiastic and highly influenced young woman, reading popular biographies of American
missionaries in the 19th century. Influenced by Harriet Newell, an evangelist who traveled and worked
in India, Narcissa was captivated by Harriet s spiritual struggles, letters and sermons. As a young
teenager, she felt life was slipping away, time was wasted, as she was ready to adventure out and start
ministering the word of God. 19th century American missions, was influenced by the cultural attitudes
and practices within their culture. Not interested in children, marriage and traditional lifestyles,
Narcissa struggled being a single woman, in a man s world. She knew the way to a missionary
appointment meant she would have to marry. Luckily enough, she slightly knew someone, who had
the same goals and same need of marriage, in order to find placement within the American Board of
Commissioners for Foreign Missions (ABCFM), an organization dealing with foreign missionary
efforts. Years had passed, and eventually, Narcissa and Marcus Whitman would marry (February
1836), allowing their ultimate dream of missionary work to begin. With means to an end, Narcissa s
goals would be met by wedlock. Narcissa s goals were to leave instantly, head west and bring to life,

The Controversial Issue Of Euthanasia
Euthanasia
For a long time, euthanasia has been a controversial issue in countries all around the globe. However,
with active technological progress, this topic becomes more urgent than 50 years ago. Undoubtedly, it
is influenced by many factors. One of the leading debatable points is the invention and improvement
of artificial life support devices. It is impossible to overestimate the importance of this theme as it is
related to the most important value of each person their life and lives of their loved ones. Moreover, it
is a morally difficult moment to highlight such an issue in a society with the help of specialists of
various profiles: doctors, psychologists, priests, and lawyers. Thus, euthanasia is still a taboo that

Similarly, euthanasia means the facilitating the onset of death and the cessation of the suffering of
terminally ill patients (with their consent or with the consent of relatives or guardians). In
jurisprudence, it is the satisfaction of the request of an incurably diseased patient about the
accomplishment of his death. This concept applies not only to people but also to animals, for whose
life the owners are responsible. However, these definitions still do not give a complete picture of the
concept of euthanasia as none of them includes all possible situations of application of this method. To
unify this concept, it is necessary to mean the deliberate actions of a medical worker with regard to
ask of a patient or his official deputies to stop physical or mental suffering, that is, life.
There are two types of euthanasia. First of all, it can be divided into voluntary and involuntary
methods. In the first case, a mercy killing is a specific request of a capable patient. This means that it
is a balanced decision of an adequate person that is based on the own desire and values. Involuntary
euthanasia is committed with an incapacitated patient in accordance with the decision of relatives.
Such a person is in an inadequate state and cannot express strong consent or disagreement. For
example, a patient has a serious mental illness or he is on artificial life support devices.
Also, euthanasia

Physical activity has been proven to stimulate various brain chemicals that can leave us feeling happy
and relaxed. Dr. Mary de Groot of Indiana University ran a study on the link of depression and
diabetes with exercise. With the diabetes patients, she had them perform a 12 week exercise and
cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) intervention program. The group that exercised showed
improvements both in depression and in blood sugar levels. (Weir) Working out consistently can also
help tremendously with our self esteem and confidence. Exercise can boost our energy by improving
our endurance and muscle strength that can benefit us in daily life situations such as at work or school.
It may seem counter intuitive to say, but expending energy can help us gain more energy. It can help
your cardiovascular system work more effectively by delivering oxygen and nutrients to your tissues.
More than 90% of studies indicate that exercise increases energy for nearly every group, ranging from
sedentary to healthy adults to cancer patients. Exercise can also make us sleep more efficiently by
being able to fall asleep faster and reach an even deeper sleep. This effect happens over time the more
consistent we exercise. Research has shown that exercise has a long term effect on sleep, but having
quality sleep has a short term effect on our

The Importance Of Writing
There are many actions, characteristics, and goals that are set throughout life that help people become
literate in something, whether it is in a sport, a school subject, or a hobby. Recognizing any strengths
or weaknesses and setting out to make them better are also a large part in one s journey to becoming
who they are today. Subjects such as language arts are especially helpful when doing this and help
bring out the voices of writers and readers, young and old. For me, the activities and decisions I have
made up to this point, including reading and writing, have made me the person that I am today.
Reflecting on this and my personality, strengths, and weaknesses have also contributed to my growth

Writing is something that comes naturally to me. I am a creative person and can use my ideas to easily
write an essay or narrative and make my thoughts and points clear. I can also use my creativity to
make a sentence or piece of evidence flow with the rest of my writing piece. In addition, I am always
looking for new ways to make my writing better and I am driven to do so. My strengths in writing are
especially shown when writing a fiction or realistic fiction story where I can make up my own
characters and my own plot, even if I am instructed to follow a specific guideline or prompt. It is
easier for me because I can visualize how I want a story to turn out and how the characters react to
certain points in the plot. However, essays are a little harder for me. I can convey my ideas and
evidence easily, but creating conclusions and creating a strong thesis is a challenge for me. So, I
would like to work on making my conclusions and thesis statements stronger so that I can be even
better at writing essays. Achieving this would ultimately make me a better writer overall and would
even benefit other types of essays or stories I may have to write in the future. Lastly, one other activity
I am literate in is reading. Reading has been something I have been exceptional at since I was very
young, and my family definitely had a considerably large influence on this. For instance, when I was
less than 1 year old my mother would read books to me, and I ended up

You will meet many heroes in your lifetime and you probably can t tell by looking at them. A hero is
someone who had put themselves in a risky situation with the intent of helping others. Most of the
population believes that heroes have to wear a big red cape or fly to be a hero, but those aren t the only
heroes out there. Another criteria that people put on heros are that they had to be recognized in text
books to be heros. Heroes are everyday people who have sacrificed for others, they are shoved face

to be brave for 20 minutes, if they are trying to speak out against the system they don t get silenced by

Abstract This paper explores the complications associated with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) including
altered tissue perfusion. Altered tissue perfusion occurs as a result of DM and can cause many
complications such as diabetic foot ulcers. Although altered tissue perfusion is not the only cause of
ulcers, it contributes to the acceleration and degeneration of tissue once an ulcer forms. This paper

Small arteries in diabetic patients experience changes due to increased atherosclerosis. Tissue
perfusion depends upon fasting plasma glucose and fasting insulin levels which are also dependent
upon how sensitive the patient is to the insulin. Increased permeability to large molecules such as
albumin is increased in diabetes, which can be associated with hyperglycemia (Levy, et al., 2008).
Studies have shown patients with type 2 diabetes experience decreased coronary flow which is related
to hemoglobin A1C and fasting plasma glucose levels (Marketou, et al., 2008). Mild insulin resistance
can also be associated with a decrease in coronary flow. In addition, a decrease in myocardial
perfusion in diabetic patients is related to decreased blood flow. An impairment in peripheral
circulation leads to ischemia, which is associated with pain in the lower legs called intermittent
claudication, which may result in lacerations of the feet (Levy, et al., 2008). Peripheral vascular
disease (PVD) can cause thrombosis of the arteries causing tissue death. Gangrene from Diabetes
Mellitus (DM) can lead to amputations beginning in the toes and moving into the foot (Lemone,
Burke, Bauldoff, 2011).
Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that has become an epidemic as it effects more and more the
population each year. DM is a group of metabolic diseases, stemmed from the Endocrine systems,

Theme Of The Autobiography Of An Ex-Colored Man
In The Autobiography of an Ex Colored Man written by James Weldon Johnson, the theme that builds
up throughout the novel is identity is shaped by many different aspects, and, at times, it can be hard to
find. The main character, James Weldon Johnson, goes through multiple different aspects of society
with hardships and difficulties while he is finding who he is. In order to find his identity, James finds
out that he is a black man; he encounters many hardships; wonders if his passion is with music; and, in
the end, comes to identify himself as a white man.
Growing up Johnson is known by all, except his mother, that he is a white man. He is treated as a
white individual with white privileges. This doesn t really change until his second term of his first
year in school. The principal comes to talk to the students. When he requests this, he asks for all white
students to stand up. James stands, but his teacher says you sit down for the present, and rise with the

Essay Comparing The Epic Of Gilgamesh And The Book Of Genesis
Between the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Book of Genesis from the Hebrew Bible, there are
conspicuous similarities in their stories. First and foremost, these pieces of literature share an account
of a world flood. In Tablet XI of the Epic of Gilgamesh the flood story is recounted, where Ea, a God
of many chooses to divulge the disaster ahead to a male figure, Utanapishtim, although the flood sent
by Enil is not meant to be survived by anyone. In some similarity, God favors Noah and provides him
instructions of what to do for preparation of the flood. Utanapishtim is not told of the reason for the
flood, meanwhile, God s reason for the flood in Genesis was that the Lord saw the wickedness in the
human race and because of that He regretted having made the human on earth (Puchner et al 163). ...

Discrepancies between these boats are their size and shape. Ea instructed Utanapishtim how to build

shall make it: three hundred cubits, the ark s length; fifty cubits its width; thirty cubits, its height.
(Puchner et al. 163). Similarly, both righteous men were informed to load the arc with their families
and a sampling of animals, Ea ordered Take aboard the boat seed of all living things (Puchner 143)
and God spoke, Come into the ark, you and all your household...Of every clean animal take you seven
pairs, each with its mate (Puchner 163). The main characters in both stories agreed what their God
asked of them, for example, Utanapishtim responded: Your command, my lord, exactly as you did said

Adaptation of Donkey
Introduction
Scientists such as Charles Darwin, Jean Baptiste Lamarck and Alfred Russel Wallace among others
who studied evolution have suggested that all organisms evolved from simpler forms to the more
complex forms that exist today. They base their evidence on environmental and climatic changes.
Charles Darwin claims that as the environment and climate change, so do the organisms in the
affected region (Jackson Groves, 2015). The main idea of evolution is so that the animals may be able
to cope with the current conditions. If the organisms structure and morphological structure do not
modify themselves with the changing conditions, then these animals are bound to perish. To

Habitat
Domestic donkeys are used to moderate tropical and terrestrial weather. As such, they can be found in
most regions of the world. They prefer the warm and dry areas, with low and sparse vegetation.
Role of the Donkey in the Ecology The donkey plays a huge role in the environment that cannot go
unnoticed. First, for the balance of nature to be complete, a given habitat must have bacteria,
herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, and scavengers. In this hierarchy, donkey occupies the herbivore
slot as their food is mainly grass. Donkeys eat grass and produce dung, which is used by bacteria for
decomposition. Also, they play a huge role as the beast of burden, where they help man to transport
his goods from one place to another. Also, in some instances, donkeys could be used to transport man
himself. My home area experiences quite warm weather conditions which allow grass to grow
properly. This makes the donkeys thrive properly without any struggle. Since they are domesticated,
their owners ensure that they supplement the grass with other feeds such as fodder crops. With this,
their survival is secure. However, there are people who expose them to more work than they can bear.

While they enjoy many of the same personal rights and freedoms as other adults, teachers are held to a
high personal standard due to their interactions with children and the importance that they serve as

in order to get her job back. Feasibly, a professional organization could assist her in her efforts as well.
Essex surmises, It is important to note that when criminal activity involving teachers does not result in
conviction, school boards may still bring charges against the teacher strictly for school related
purposes (Essex, 2016, p. 267). Essex also states, The school district may address the teachers
behavior from the standpoint of fitness to teach, irrespective of whether a conviction is sustained
through the courts, simply because the standard of proof is higher to sustain a conviction than it is to
dismiss a teacher (Essex, 2016, p. 267). Regardless of whether she was convicted or not, the courts

Negative Effects Of China s One Child Policy
The one child policy has also created a generation of missing girls . Examining China s census data
from 1980 to 2000 counted approximately 12.8 million fewer females in the cohorts born between
those years than would be expected if China had experienced normal sex ratios at birth. Another
estimated 50 million Chinese women have gone unaccounted for in birth rate and mortality data. The
missing girls phenomenon is another unintended consequence that arose out the one child policy.
These missing girls are missing in several ways. The 12.8 million fewer females were likely never
born or victims of infanticide. The other millions of missing girls are girls who do not exist in the
figurative sense. They are very much alive and living in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first generation of women living in the wake of the one child policy became mothers who now
had the opportunity to return to school and/or the job market. These women showed that they could
work and maintain a good family like simultaneously, and their success helped change attitudes about
the role of women. The one child policy gave women the opportunity to change gender roles because
the role they would take on as a mother took up a smaller portion of their lives. This generation also
helped show other women that daughters could provide for their parents in the same fashion as sons.
Sons were not necessary to provide elder support. It also gave women more control over their lives
because they became more independent from the role of motherhood. This has resulted a much greater
number of women participating in the work force. Women make up 49% of China s population and
46% of the workforce. Traditionally, women stayed at home with the children while their husbands
went out and worked. Women made up a small percent of the workforce in comparison with the
percentage of women in the general population. Although the CCP, encouraged women to participate
in the workforce and promoted feminist ideals, the burden of childrearing made it impossible for
women to take advantage of the

Neurofibrillary Staining Procedure
Bielschowsky Stain Similar to the Golgi stain, the Bielschowsky stain uses a silver compound, silver
nitrate, as well as ammonium hydroxide to cause silver ions to adhere to the membranes of nervous
tissue. This technique is especially useful in when looking and neurofibrillary tangles and senile
plaque. When dyed, the color of the samples can vary depending on the amount of silver that binds to
particular parts of the specimen. The Bielschowsky stain stains the neurofibrillary tangles, axons, and
plaques a dark brown or black while the background remains yellow. Due to its ability to stain senile
plaques, the stain is commonly used to look at tissues diseased with Alzheimer s disease. Hematoxylin
and Eosin Stain (H E) Indicated by its name, this method of hystogical staining involves two dyes.
The first of which is Hematoxylin. As a basic dye, hematoxylin works as an acidophilic substance.
Because of this, it stains nucleic acids blue and purple. Thus, with this stain the nuclei of cells are
stained blue. The second dye, eosin, is basophilic. Any basic or negatively charged structures, like
proteins with cationic amino acid group, are stained pink. Of the two, eosin tends to be the
overpowering stain, coloring cytoplasmic content, muscle and connective tissues, erythrocytes, and
various other cellular content. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The three Nissl stain dyes are acidophilic in nature and bind to nucleic acids. In addition Nissl stains
are used to see Nissl bodies, or the rough endoplasmic reticulum, in neurons. The Nissl dye has
evolved and now varies in the type of dyes it contains most contain are toluidine blue or cresyl violet
but typically the stains result in the Nissl bodies and nucleic acids colored purple or

To support all range of industries i.e., from small scale to large scale, cloud computing emerged which reduces the efforts both physically and with regard to capital investment. Depending on the length of work that one would like to choose with, cloud computing offers four types of delivery models namely, public cloud , private cloud , community cloud and hybrid cloud . User is also free to choose the amount of control one would like to have on their data that is stored in the cloud. The cloud providers offer three types of services which give users different types of permissions. More permissions the user hold, the more control and privacy obtained on the data. The data being shared among the open space is less secured. Cloud computing involving different technologies like networks, databases, operating systems and many other, has enormous security issues. In perspective to the designing of a distributed operating systems that support cloud computing, resource scheduling, transaction management, load balancing, concurrency control, memory management are some of the major issues that are to be considered. The cause of this conflict may have been because of how powerful we were after the revolutionary war. This warfare was along the Mediterranean Sea. For some reason, the Barbary States, such as Tunisia, Algiers, Morocco, and Tripoli, felt that the American merchant ships should ve been destroyed. They also felt that the sailors aboard the merchant ships should ve been held ransom. So as the years continued, they would attack American and European ships which traded certain goods around Europe. European governments decided to pay the Barbary States tribute, which was money paid to another country in return ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There were many battles on the coast of the Barbary States. One major battle took place on February 16, 1804, along the Tripoli harbor. The U.S warship Philadelphia began to sink near the Tripoli coast. Its sailors were already held captive, as the pirates tried to use the ship. There was about 307 of the sailors who were held captive. There was a great chance that the pirates were from Tripoli. Lieutenant Stephen Decatur, a well known leading sailor, saw this as a problem. Even though the pirates had already took the ship, he didn t want them to use Philadelphia. Lieutenant Decatur decided to burn down the Philadelphia so that it wouldn t be used by the pirates. The American sailors were still aboard and imprisoned by the pirates as Decatur burned it down. He had no choice but to destroy the ship led by the cruel pirates. This was a major battle of the Barbary Coast War and is very popular today. Though it was a major battle, it wasn t the end of The Barbary Wars. The ending of the wars was a joyful ending. Earlier this year, a small clan of American marines marched 600 miles through the rough Sahara and captured Tripoli. Washing a car thoroughly takes five different steps to complete a clean exterior. Step1: Wheels are a good place to start, because the cleaning products for wheels work best on dry surfaces. Spray on the solution as directed by the instructions, and see if the dirt and dust is removed. Use a little more spray in bad areas to help get the wheels completely clean. Try and get all road grime and grease off of the wheels. Use a soft brush to clean cracks and crevices on the wheels, but don t scrub too hard. Step4: Since there s more dirt on a car s sides and panels, use two plans. First, work from top to bottom of the car. Secondly, switch to a separate mitt or towel when getting to the bottom of the car, where there are dirtier areas. Switching to different mitts or towels keeps scratches to a minimum that is why it is important to do so. Thoroughly wet down the section of the car about to be washed, and dunk the cleaning mitt or soft cotton towel into the soap bucket. Wipe gently cleaning the roof, hood, and trunk of the car. Make sure to dunk the mitt or towel frequently, and shake it in the soap bucket to let the grime wash out. Rinse each surface after it s been washed by lightly misting it off with the hose. Rinsing as you finish washing is very important. Don t wash a section and then leave it to wash another section this is very bad practice. The dirty soap can dry on the surface of the car, and then you re back where you started! Step5: Dry the surfaces of the car in the same order that you washed them. Move the towels around gently not to scratch anything. Take a clean cotton towel or chamois and lay it on the surface to blot up the water. Switch ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Students interested in the field of medicine study biology and don t generally study much outside of science. Or, students interested in music study musical theory and learn several different instruments they don t cross over into other fields of thought. This type of learning, however, really doesn t reflect the way the world works. It doesn t even properly reflect human experience: many students are puzzled when it comes to choosing a field of study. They settle on one because there hasn t been an option available that combines their interests in a practical way, or it simply isn t shown to them. The interactions of this world, however, revolve around many different fields of thought combining and working together. People nowadays need to be educated in a way that properly represents this experience: the big picture experience. They need to be able to look to the future, expand horizons, and combine fields of interest and thought to reach a new level of innovation in today s world. In the fall of 2014, a new undergraduate program was created for just this kind of education. Another important benefit of conducting analysis is that Diagnosis confirms that a problem actually exists (Faletta 3). In conducting such an analysis, a business can search out the underlying or root causes and then use this information to inform members on how to make the necessary changes. A third point to consider is to look at the business as one whole entity and not the sum of its individual parts. Faletta states that business analysis should occur similar to the medical profession in which a physician takes a holistic view of the patient. They do not simply look at a runny nose and bad cough and think that there must be a problem with the individual s nose and lungs. They look at all symptoms, how they are related, and what course of action is required to remedy all associated symptoms of a common cold. A final important reason to conduct analysis is to determine if the changes made to the organization are actually working. • 15. The Best Key Performance Indicators For The Godiva Monitor... In my opinion, the five best key performance indicators for the Godiva to monitor and measure on their ecommerce website are: number of unique visitors, bounce rate, conversion rate, average order value, and repeat customer rate. Unique visitors counts are important in determining between new versus returning site user traffic. This data is helpful for counting hits to the landing page, and beneficial in counting hits to other pages within the site as well. High traffic, and high returning traffic numbers are indicative of a healthy on line business. The more frequently a user visits the site, the more opportunity that they have to make a purchase. George Blitzer of Kommerzen.com indicates that more than one third of traffic should represent repeat visitors. He also notes that rewarding these visitors with a loyalty program is a great incentive to keep them coming back. The bounce rate will provide Godiva with the number of times a site visitor leaves their website right away. The bounce rate is calculated by the number of website page visitors that do not engage with the page (do not click on links, or interact with the page) before abandoning the page, divided by the total number of visits to the page within a given time frame. When the bounce rate rises, Godiva knows that either the site user entered the page by accident, or the site user was not interested in what they saw. A rise in bounce rate may potentially be caused by a redesign of a website page, unappealing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 22. Emily Dickinson Poetry Analysis Han Wei Katherine O Callaghan Intro to study of literature 15th November 2017 Negotiation Between Death and Eternity in Emily Dickinson s Poems Emily Dickinson lost her father on June 16, 1874 (Sewall 69). The sudden loss of her father stunned her and she wrote in a letter that she was wondering where he is. Without any body, I keep thinking. What kind can that be (Letter, 471). When Dickinson s mother passed away in November of 1882, Dickinson also wrote in a letter about her wonder at her fate and she was seeking what it means (Letter, 815). The wonder in both letters shows that Emily Dickinson is a person who looks inward for the mystery of death. Many of her poems convey her preoccupation with death, concern with immortality and doubts about fulfillment beyond the grave. I will analyze I heard a Fly buzz when I died (591) and Because I could not stop for Death (479), both of which deal with the death and eternity. These two poems reflect the conflicting attitudes of Emily Dickinson towards afterlife. In I heard a Fly buzz when I died (591), the narrator describes the last moments of her life and the moment of her death. The poem begins with a startling statement that describes the moment of her death, making readers know that she has already died. In the first stanza, it is so quiet that the narrator can hear a fly, leading to a contrast between the stillness and the fly s buzz. And there is a simile that the contrast is likened to the stillness in the air and heaves of storm. The simile here not only emphasizes the silence in the room, but also leads to a further metaphor. The simile adds meaning back onto the stillness in the room that the stillness connotes the process of death. In the second stanza, the narrator s attention falls upon the mourners around her. She sees the onlookers in terms of sight and sound. Their strained eyes and gathered breath imply that they have waited for the last Onset (), which is the final moment of death, for a long time. And they are prepared for the arrival of the King , who is the personification of death. In the third verse, the narrator s keepsakes () have been signed away () and assigned. Similarly, euthanasia means the facilitating the onset of death and the cessation of the suffering of terminally ill patients (with their consent or with the consent of relatives or guardians). In jurisprudence, it is the satisfaction of the request of an incurably diseased patient about the accomplishment of his death. This concept applies not only to people but also to animals, for whose life the owners are responsible. However, these definitions still do not give a complete picture of the concept of euthanasia as none of them includes all possible situations of application of this method. To unify this concept, it is necessary to mean the deliberate actions of a medical worker with regard to ask of a patient or his official deputies to stop physical or mental suffering, that is, life. There are two types of euthanasia. First of all, it can be divided into voluntary and involuntary methods. In the first case, a mercy killing is a specific request of a capable patient. This means that it is a balanced decision of an adequate person that is based on the own desire and values. Involuntary euthanasia is committed with an incapacitated patient in accordance with the decision of relatives. Such a person is in an inadequate state and cannot express strong consent or disagreement. For example, a patient has a serious mental illness or he is on artificial life support devices. In addition, I am always looking for new ways to make my writing better and I am driven to do so. My strengths in writing are especially shown when writing a fiction or realistic fiction story where I can make up my own characters and my own plot, even if I am instructed to follow a specific guideline or prompt. It is easier for me because I can visualize how I want a story to turn out and how the characters react to certain points in the plot. However, essays are a little harder for me. I can convey my ideas and evidence easily, but creating conclusions and creating a strong thesis is a challenge for me. So, I would like to work on making my conclusions and thesis statements stronger so that I can be even better at writing essays. Tissue perfusion depends upon fasting plasma glucose and fasting insulin levels which are also dependent upon how sensitive the patient is to the insulin. Increased permeability to large molecules such as albumin is increased in diabetes, which can be associated with hyperglycemia (Levy, et al., 2008). Studies have shown patients with type 2 diabetes experience decreased coronary flow which is related to hemoglobin A1C and fasting plasma glucose levels (Marketou, et al., 2008). Mild insulin resistance can also be associated with a decrease in coronary flow. In addition, a decrease in myocardial perfusion in diabetic patients is related to decreased blood flow.
