Music Today On the highway there is always noise. The sound of cars honking and rushing by is
all I can hear. I hit the FM button on my radio. When the radio comes on, I hear a song I have

On 1st of February, 2003, the space shuttle Columbia exploded when it re entered the Earth s
atmosphere after finished a 16 days mission in space. All seven astronauts were dead because of
this incident. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) had stopped the space
shuttle program for more than two years to investigate this tragedy. In the 16 days period, the
astronauts did approximately 80 experiments on different categories, for example, life science and

The University of Texas at Austin is a world renown school with an acceptance rate of 40.2% as
of 2013. Abigail Fisher, a white woman from Texas, sued the University of Texas for racial
discrimination in the university s admission program. Ms. Fisher lost her district court case and
the Fifth Circuit Case three to zero; but the Supreme Court accepted her appeal for another trial.
Due to Ms. Fisher not being able to attend The University of Texas, she was accepted into
Louisiana State University shortly after. At LSU, she filed the lawsuit against the University of
Texas to prohibit the university to use race as a factor in the future admission process. Ms. Fisher
argued that race or ethnicity should not be a factor in the application process because it is simply
unfair. The university responded that using race as a factor is only part of the admission process
and is only used to ensure a large diverse group of students. The University of Texas automatically
admits students in the top ten percent of high schools in the state. The school also used the
affirmative action policy to admit students of other races, even with less credentials, over white
students. While Ms. Fisher was not in the top ten percent of her high school, she still thought that

She watched it die.
At the top of her apartment complex, above families and lovers, perched a figure on the ledge of
the rooftop. It stood above layers of humanity in that complex, liveliness indicated by the lights
shining through the different curtains and blinds covering most of the windows of the complex.
The figure stepped closer to the edge, its head turned to Teresa Sandoval. The silhouette reminded
her of a woman: the harsh wind pulled back its hair and a sheet cascaded down the building.
The smell of red wine and smoke stung her eyes. Teresa stood underneath the one working
streetlight on the entire street: all the other lights flickered. As the figure moved closer to the
edge, the lights flickered even more. The buzzing grew louder. Teresa s cheeks were red from the

Over a year ago, I was diagnosed with a mental illness called bipolar disorder. It wasn t as much
as a shock when they explained it to me, for I always had that slight suspicion that I might be
