Essay Writing On Environment
Writing an essay on the subject of the environment poses its own set of challenges, requiring a
delicate balance between scientific accuracy, social relevance, and literary finesse. First and
foremost, delving into the complexities of environmental issues demands a comprehensive
understanding of the subject matter. Navigating through the intricate web of climate change,
pollution, biodiversity loss, and sustainable development requires a thorough grasp of scientific
concepts, statistics, and real-world examples.
Moreover, the task becomes challenging due to the dynamic nature of environmental concerns.
New developments, scientific findings, and global events continually reshape the landscape of
environmental discourse. Staying current with the latest research and incorporating these insights
into the essay adds another layer of complexity.
The challenge further intensifies when attempting to strike a balance between raising awareness
about environmental issues and inspiring action. An effective essay on the environment should
not only inform but also motivate readers to reflect on their own behaviors and advocate for
positive change. Crafting a persuasive narrative that resonates with diverse audiences while
avoiding a didactic tone requires finesse and a deep understanding of human psychology.
Additionally, essayists must grapple with the ethical considerations inherent in environmental
discussions. Topics like environmental justice, the impact of human activities on vulnerable
communities, and the intersectionality of environmental issues necessitate a nuanced and
empathetic approach. Addressing these facets requires a heightened sensitivity to diverse
perspectives and a commitment to inclusivity.
Finally, the challenge lies in weaving all these elements into a coherent and engaging essay that
captivates the reader's attention from the introduction to the conclusion. The artistry of language,
the flow of ideas, and the ability to communicate complex concepts in an accessible manner are
essential components of successful environmental essays.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the environment is a formidable task that demands a
multidimensional skill set. The writer must navigate scientific intricacies, stay abreast of current
developments, balance persuasion with information, confront ethical considerations, and master
the art of storytelling. The challenge is not just in documenting the state of the environment but
in inspiring change and fostering a deeper connection between the reader and the world they
inhabit.

We Zamyatin Analysis
We, by Yevgeny Zamyatin, took place 200 years in the future in the city called

and numbers as their name instead of their own birth name, and everything single
thing they did was controlled nobody really had their own freedom. During the

whole story, and the main two things that stood out was how he put all his trust
and love into somebody and ended up getting betrayed, and as well how they lived

I felt that D 503 getting betrayed by I 330 was karma for him working with the
United Nations, and being the designer of the integral and having power didn t
make it any better. As a reader you could understand in a sense on why I 330 acted
the way she did towards D 503 and didn t want to love him the way he did towards
her, because he had so much power and everything she does could be used against
her so that s why also see why it is understandable that I 330 didn t really open up to
him throughout the story, and ended up using his own power against himself and
for the wrong reasons, because she would betray him and get him to do fulfill all of
her wishes, rather than to get betrayed by D 503 and get her love taken for granted.
Like the expression that everybody in this society once heard before, It s a dog eat

Decision Making And The Prospect Theory
Introduction
Decision making is the act of choosing the best solution to a problem depending on
its value and the preferences of the decision maker. In the first part of this essay, we
will explore the Expected Utility theory and the Prospect Theory, which are
normative and descriptive approaches to making decisions with inherent risks. The
first part of the essay argues that Expected Utility Theory is a less viable hypothesis
to decision making and is fundamentally flawed compared to the Prospect Theory in
description and function. Prospect theory is a better model for decision making
because firstly, decisions are not often made objectively and can be affected by
decision weights. Secondly, individuals are not risk averse as suggested by the utility
theory, but are instead loss averse. Lastly, individuals evaluate decisions not by their
final resting utility, but instead they react dependently based on their reference point.
The second part of the essay will delve into the topic of heuristics that emerge in
investment decision making. The main biases that investors make include disposition
effect, anchoring and adjustments bias and overconfidence.
Part 1.
Expected utility theory states what rational decision makers should do in order to
maximise their utility. On the other hand, Prospect Theory describes how individuals
make decisions when faced with perceived risk and uncertainty. Utility can be
explained by how much an individual values an extra unit of wealth.

Ruakura has been recognised as a long term growth cell for growing populations
through employment, industrial and lifestyle opportunities within Hamilton City (O

Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga, therefore is seen as an ideal location for growth
hub and portfacilities, due to the access between ports of Auckland and Tauranga
(Tainui Group Holdings 2016). This area is located within the urban rural fringe,
across 822 hectare (refer to Figure 1). Due to this location, urban development is
prohibited within the area, according to the operative district plan rules. This
develops the issue of the plan change through Tainui Group Holdings Limited and
Chedworth Properties Limited aiming to proceed with development of the inland port
in this area (Environmental Protection Authority 2013). Through the proposed plan
change, it pursues to add objectives, and policies to the District Plan that allows for
urban development, therefore removing the prohibited activity status of urban
development from the plan (Turner Kyle 2014). There are many stakeholders, and
individuals involved through this development and plan change consent. These

I Want You For The Us Army Poster Analysis
I Want You for the U.S. Army Posters are splashy, large format images, which are
accompanied by a short text. Usually, the purposes of the posters are to agitate,
advertise, inform, or teach people. Posters from World War I and World War II often
used metaphors, different figures, events, and places. During the First World War
propaganda posters were enormously widespread. Artists used them to agitate people
to conscription, subscriptions to war loans, and aid to the wounded soldiers. One of
the most important posters from World War Iand World War II is I Want You for U.S.
Army by James Mantgomery Flagg. This poster is very influential because of its
figure, the message, and the effect on the people.

Essay On Data Breaching
Referring to an article by Identity Force, there were investigations found that there
was an act of data breaching involved in the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (Daitch 2017).
This tool is used when college students are attentively trying to complete a Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Not until March 2017, is when
federal officials observed what was actually going on and took down the tool. In
this case of data breaching, it was said that identity thieves pulled personal
information outside of the tax system to steal additional data (2017). It s already a

The DRT allows students and parents to access their Adjusted Gross Income (AGI)
information through an interface with the IRS to complete the FAFSA by
transferring the AGI information directly into their FAFSA application form
(2016). This is one of the main reasons why it was very easy for these cyber
terrorists to get ahold of viable information. There had been a few attempted
accesses to the individual AGI, following September 2016, which led to an arrest
that same year. This administration is still continuing criminal investigations of this
activity and looking over evidence obtained from the investigations of the e
Authentication misuse to determine if the FAFSA and DRT criminal activity were
ever launched by the same people or groups. At one point, there was evidence found
as far back as February 2016, where the person involved in the e Authentication
investigation discussed the availability of AGI information using FAFSA and the
DRT. Then after looking at a whole other file of information and email addresses,
there is decent evidence that shows the same people and groups engaged in criminal
activity on the e Authentication portal are involved in this misuse of the FAFSA and
the DRT.

Berkeley Pit Disaster
Introduction
When one hears someone say the word Berkeley , there are many different ideas
that come to one s mind, such as Berkeley as in a girl s name, the famous Berkeley
University, and much more; however, of the many Berkeley s in this world, it is
evident that the Berkeley Pit is of the most serious environmental problem. A former
open pit copper mine, Berkeley Pit, is now one of the most closely observed disaster
in our nature today.
The cause of the development of the chemical disaster traces back to the 1950s. As
the Industrial Revolution took place, mining took a significant role in city life.
According to the Berkeley Pit Public Education Committee, in 1955, copper prices ...

Ultimately, about 1,000,000,000 tons of material were mined from the Berkeley Pit
(Wikipedia, 2015). Therefore, the local problem of specifically finding an
alternative to underground mining was solved successfully. Although this original
problem was solved, this brought about another serious issue that still continues
today. No longer being able to extract a good amount from the mines anymore, the
mines of Berkeley Pit were finally closed. Now, until this point of time, the
Berkeley Pit was just a gigantic hole in the ground, but soon enough the pit started
to fill with groundwater. To keep the pit from flooding, the Anaconda Company had
to install water pumps in which inhibited the rapid rate of the filling of water. By
1983, however, they eventually shut down all the water pumps and left the pit
unattended. The metals and minerals still in the presence of the mine dissolved into
the groundwater and rain and created a body of water that is as toxic as lemon juice.
No fish or organisms, except for algae, could survive such extreme toxicity.
How Science was applied To be more specific, one must learn more about the
relationship between the process in which this disaster with chemicals happened and
the toxicology. As stated by Pellicori, Gammons, and Poulson in 2005, the Berkley
Pit when they analyzed the sample mine water from the acidic pit, they looked into

The Importance Of Cleaning The USPS Fort Worth
Often a refresh is the first step in advocating for a building s potential. Cleaning a
building shows people that you care, said Sarah Holder. Both the actual and
perceived value of the building is raised. Hidden gems are exposed, as the
architecture s best assets are revealed in a better light. And, significantly, it is the
exterior that is the first to impress, the first to send the message that a property is
worth the investment. Holder attributes this heightened perceived value as a the
positive impact of a clean, smiling face.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Anti Dynasty In The...
The issue I chose to reflect upon is about the political dynasties present in the
Philippines. I am not one to be interested in the government and its inner workings.
I don t watch the news, nor do I read the papers, but this topic is relevant to society
and is appealing to me. While doing my research, I was shocked to know that the
anti political dynasty bill has already been a subject that has been debated on in
the 1987 Constitutional Commission. Commissioner Vicente Foz started the
debate when he proposed the prohibition of political dynasties in the Philippines.
The opposition however was led by Commissioner Teodulo Navidad saying that
this would be declining the people their power to choose and elect their governors.
After a series of more debates and arguments, stating the disadvantages and
advantages, the proposal was rejected. In the year 2011, Sen. Miriam Defensor
Santiago resurfaced the anti dynasty bill using the previous arguments for the
passage of the bill, yet the anti dynasty bill did not get anywhere again. The
proposal by Foz was rejected, but that was in 1987. Now, 28 years later, in the year
2015, we have different perspectives and opinions. The anti dynasty bill has surfaced
yet again. Has our views about... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Jim Jones Shooting Essay
Jim Jones had many jobs before he became leader of the peoples temple. As a child
he spent much of his time alone. He began preaching at 10 years old after going on
weekly trips to church with a neighbor of his. He continued his strong religious
beliefs when moved to Indianapolis with his mother. Jones became a minister at a
local church and held racially integrated services to the church s displeasure.
During the mid 1950 s Jones opened his first church of The People s Temple while
still living in Indiana. As the cult grew in the 60 s Jones relocated to Northern
California and soon after opened churches in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Followers of the People s Temple often referred to him as father or Dad .

The days leading up to the suicides are vastly important in Jones twisted reasoning in
the decision to make over 900 people commit suicide in the town pavilion. It started
after reports of sexual, mental and physical abuse in Jonestown had been reported to
the US government. After hearing this news Congressman Leo Ryan was flown
into Guyana on November 14th with 31 others including news reporters,
photographers and worried relatives of The People s Temple members. Entry into
Jonestown was denied for three days before the group was welcomed into the town
with dinner and entertainment for the night on November 17th 1978. Throughout
the night members of the group were handed notes from Jonestown citizens asking
for help defecting from the cult. The next day the visitors began to leave
Jonestown with the defecting members of the cult, this sent Jones into a panic, he
believed that the end was near for himself and The Peoples Temple. Jones sent
gunmen to kill the congressman and other visitors before they could leave, only a
handful of 5 people were shot and killed, including Leo Ryan. Jones then called for a

the minaret calling the people to pray. Before one prays, a purification ritual will
take place. This ritual is that a person must wash themselves in clean running water,
in the order of hands, mouth, nose, face, arms and then wet hands are run over the
head and neck, then the ears and finally the feet. During the prayer it also involves
specific postures which are standing, stooping, kneeling and also sitting. Whilst
kneeling, the forehead and chin must be touching the ground. This is all known as
rakah specific words and postures. The prayers may be said anywhere that is
sanitary. They will be opened, shoes must be removed and the individual will always

The Notebook By Nicholas Sparks Essay
A romantic drama film is a genre that explores the difficult aspects that come with
love. The plot usually includes two people that are in love that can t be together the
way they want to be due to obstacles. The obstacles in a romantic drama film can
include a family s disapproval, to forbidden love, to one s own psychological
restrictions. The Notebook is a movie based on a best selling novel that was
written by author Nicholas Sparks. This is a love story that is composed of a series
of obstacles between two young people that are madly in love with each other. It
perfectly fits and displays the criteria for a successful romantic drama film because it
includes the complexity of love, and elicits emotions.
In The Notebook there are countless obstacles between the two main characters that
are in love. This allows the movie to fit into the drama aspect of the genre,
displaying the complexity of their love. Complex love includes the drama, and
difficulties of a relationship, while still being closely connected to the romantic parts
of a relationship. This is prevalent in The Notebook. Allie and Noah, played by well
known actors Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, were two people from different
social classes. Allie was from a wealthy, privileged upper class family while Noah
was making around 40 cents an hour at a lumber yard job. While love is not
confined to the amount of money that each person has, in the 1940 s, which is the
setting of the movie, social class played an

implications for business of external growth as compared with organic growth.
Organic growth is when a firm expands its existing capacity or range of activities
by extending its premises or building new factories for example. External growth
however is when two or more businesses come together via a merger or a take over.
There are many implications of external growth. One of the main implications is the
ignorance of the different cultures supported by the two different firms. It involves a

managers having little time. This reflects on poor leadership and unclear ... Show

Poor communication between people at each level in the organisation and the other

Gender and Social Norms in Shakespeare s As You Like It...
Gender and Social Norms in As You Like It
Shakespeare based his comedy As You Like It primarily on three other works. Its
plot follows the basic structure of Rosalynde, published in 1590 by Thomas Lodge.
The Tale of Gamelyn, written by an unknown author in the mid fourteenth century,
is a violent Middle English narrative that was found among Chaucer s papers and
provides further details for Shakespeare s work. With the Forest of Ardenne serving
as an escape for our main characters, Shakespeare takes his details from the
countless Robin Hood ballads popular in Medieval England. This paper will examine
how Shakespeare s adaptations and alterations of emphasis and plot from these source
works have turned our attention to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the final paragraph, Lodge reinforces his focus on men:
Here Gentlemen may you see in EUPHUES GOLDEN LEGACIE, that such as neglect
their fathers precepts, incurre much preiudice; that diuision in Nature as it is a
blemish in nurture...concorde sweetest conclusion, and amitie betwixt brothers more
forceable than fortune.
This moral, pointed out to us in the last paragraph of Renaissance writing, says
nothing about the matters of interaction between men and women, only the
interaction between brothers. The women in the plot are deemphasized. In As You
Like It, Shakespeare breaks all convention and a female character delivers the epilog
and speaks directly to the women calling them to action. The playwright goes so far
as to have Rosalind address the women audience members first. Shakespeare clearly
alters his plot to place primary emphasis on the women s roles in his play, how they
effect change and how they move and affect a world dominated by men.
Lodge s Rosalynde lives in a world where human behavior is repeatedly explained
by reference to long lists of infallible precepts that are said to determine our
reactions, not as a reaction to what other people have done or how they feel about
each other (Stout 279). Shakespeare views love as grounded in mutual behavior, and
the interaction between people helps make possible what will happen in the future. In
Lodge, a common explanation for a character s actions is some sort

Lucrative Energy Sector: Uranium Nuclear Power
Nuclear Power is like the unloved child of renewable energy, it only gets noticed
when it does something wrong, it has so much potential! Anonymous Nuclear
Energy in Canada accounts for over half the nations energy supply. This large
amount of output is dependent on the sustainability of the plant production and
government policy towards it. With many of the Kilowatt Hours (KwH) being
exported to nations across the sea (World Nuclear Association 2013). Exports have
skyrocketed due to our position on a global scale of uranium supply, second behind
Russia. Canadian industries and production campaigns use Nuclear Energy as their
main supply. About 59% of Canada s electricity comes from nuclear power, with 19
reactors mostly in Ontario providing 13.5 GWe of power capacity (World Nuclear
Association 2013). Currently there are nuclear plants active in Pickering, Darlington
and Bruce.
The Characteristics Of Andrew Carnegie
Andrew Carnegie became one of the wealthiest men in the entire world, primarily
due to his steel company. He lived from 1835 to 1919, and his industry grew in the
time of the Gilded Age, a period marked by industrial and economic growth. Carnegie
had many different attributes, making it difficult for historians to characterize him.
Some argue that he was a robber baron (someone who uses immoral techniques to
gain wealth), a philanthropist (someone who donates money for the good of others),
or a captain of industry (someone who becomes very rich through business). While
aspects of the robber baron and philanthropist characterizations are true, Carnegie was
a successful businessman first and foremost. Carnegie was an intelligent and

He made his successful workers into his partners, as [n]othing delighted Carnegie
more than to see the man whom he had lifted from a puddler s furnace develop into
a millionaire. This motivation likely stemmed from his own poor upbringing and
success in life. In his essay titled Gospel of Wealth, Carnegie encouraged wealthy
people to give money to the public and suggested seven fields in which to invest
the money. In another essay, called The Advantages of Poverty, he provided insight
into one of his motivations for philanthropy, by claiming wealthy philanthropists
can find refuge from self questioning in the thought of the much greater portion of
their means which is being spent on others. Carnegie also believed that when his
mind was solely preoccupied with making the largest possible amount of money as
quickly as possible, he was degrad[ing himself] beyond hope of permanent
recovery. Carnegie was particularly interested in giving libraries to various towns,
but this quickly became a business like gift. First, there was an application process
the town had to go through. Then, only gifting the building of the library, Carnegie
would demand that the town collect taxes to pay for the books and maintain the
library (which usually cost every year about 10% of the amount of money
Carnegie donated). However, Carnegie s library giving had a pattern. After he
broke up the union in Braddock, he gifted that town a library. In a response to a
letter from Homestead asking for a gift, he replied if Homestead would only do
something for him, he would be pleased to build a library there. Towns were so
afraid that libraries signified their destruction that 225 towns refused Carnegie s
offer of a library, as his offer was more threat than promise. Indeed, they could expect

Analysis Of Patricia Hill Collins s Black Feminists
Among the central claims of black feminists is the inseparability of the structures and
systems of gender, race, and class. Most black feminists deny it is possible for
women to focus exclusively on their oppression as women. On the contrary, each
woman needs to understand how everything about her provides part of the
explanation for her subordinate status. In Black Feminist Thought, Patricia Hill
Collinsexplores the words and ideas of Black feminist intellectuals as well as those
African American women outside academia. In reclaiming and legitimizing the ideas
of women of such diverse backgrounds, Collins demonstrates that there is indeed a
distinct philosophical tradition among African American women that is both
Afrocentric and feminist in its themes and approaches. According to Collins, African
American women inhabit a sex/genderhierarchy in which inequalities of race and
social class have been sexualized. By examining the links between sexuality and
power, Collins reveals how important controlling Black women s sexuality has
been to the effective operation of domination overall. In other words, Collins
claims that sexuality becomes a domain of restriction and repression when it is tied
to race, class, and gender. Comparably, in her book Imposing Decency: The Politics
of Sexuality and Race, Eileen J. Suarez Findlay, exposes the race related double
standards of sexual norms and practices in Puerto Rico. Findlay, examines concepts
of honor based on gendered and
What Is The Role Of Monastic Issues In Preserving Roman...
This historical study will examine the problems of monastic issues in preservation of
roman civilization and the problem of Christian conversions for pagan societies in
Europe during the early Medieval period of Europe. The purpose of European
monasteries was to act in accordance with the Church of Rome s policy to preserve
Roman traditions in government and Christian practices in primarily pagan tribal
communities. During this time, the primary writings of St. Benedict define the
purpose of the monasteryto spread Christianityas a source of religious power
throughout Europe. More so, the role of monastic culture in Europe society defines
the preservation of roman administration and culture throughout areas considered to
be barbaric , such as the German tribal kingdom along the Rhine that St. Columban
describes in the Boat Song. In addition to preserving Christian society in the Roman
Catholic model, the writings of St. Columba define the monastic rules of the early
medieval monastery as a vehicle to promote Roman Catholic cultural values as a
replacement for the polder pagan tribal models found throughout Europe. In essence,
the successful rise of Roman Catholic monasteries in the early medieval period define
the problems of preserving Roman civilization and by converting pagans that monks
had to endure within European pagan culture. The preservation of Roman culture and
administration was a crucial problem for monks during the 5th and 6th centuries

Nuclear Fission Impact
The Impact of Nuclear Fission and Reactors on the Environment
Overview
Nuclear fission is a reaction in which heavy nuclei, such as Uranium and Plutonium,
are broken into smaller nuclei releasing heat, which is transformed into another form
of energy such as, mechanical or electrical. For a long time people have been using
nuclear fission as an efficient and sustainable source of energy. However, the use of
this form of energy is associated with a unique set of consequences including
environmental, social and ethical. In this paper I will discuss nuclear energy and its
impact on the environment.
History of Nuclear Fission (Reactors)
The discovery of nuclear energy goes back to 1980, when Henri Becquerel was
investigating phosphorescent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are tow types of waste produced from nuclear fission: high level waste and
low level waste. High level waste consists of used uranium rods that can no longer
be used for energy or produced into other elements. The majority of low level waste
consists of water and used equipment from the nuclear reactors. Both types of
waste are highly toxic and it was estimated that about 200,000 cubic meters of low
level waste and about 10,000 cubic meters of high level waste are produced world
wide each year. These wastes are usually encapsulated in multi layer containers that
are buried in deep geological areas (Figure 5). According to the European Union
(EU) calculation, the disposal of low level waste costs about $2,200/ cubic meters
and high level waste costs over $100,000/ cubic meters annually (Storage and
Disposal, 2015).
In addition to the cost, these wastes may affect future generation by escaping into the
environment due to natural phenomena such as earthquakes and tsunamis. Therefore
the authorities should set stringent rules and regulations regarding nuclear programs
to improve nuclear safety and enhance risk management (Xiang,
The Pipeline Is A Proposed Crude Oil Pipeline
Keystone pipeline is a proposed crude oil pipeline that would be built from
Hardisty, Alberta all way through Steele, Nebraska. It would stretch for 1,179
miles and it would transport up to 830,000 barrels of oil per day. The project was
proposed by Trans Canada to the United States government in 2005 and since then, it
has been a controversial subject between the two neighbouring countries. The
company argues that the pipeline would support more than 42,000 direct and
indirect jobs while reducing American dependence on foreign oil by 40%. The
president has the veto power over the decision on keystone and so far nothing has
been agreed on with both parties. The project is currently being reviewed by the U.S
senate.
One of the main issues ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The biggest damaging impact from oil sands doesn t come from transporting it, but
rather the energy required to extract oil from the tar sands. Oil sands are among the
greenhouse gas intensive forms of petroleum to produce (NASA Climatologist
Hansen, 2012).
The other issue with Trans Canada s project is the use of eminent domain
throughout the affected population. Eminent domain is a process of taking private
property for public use. Some critics argue that it unusual for a foreign company to
use an eminent domain in another country. I have not seen a single group speak up
about eminent domain on behalf of farmers and ranchers (Jane Kleeb, 2015). Jane
is the founder of anti keystone group bold Nebraska, a supporting group of
Nebraska s landowners that are currently holding their own against Trans Canada
access of their land. The group argues that the pipeline would generally benefit
only tar sands oil companies in Alberta by using eminent domains that don t apply
as public use . Keystone isn t like a bridge or highway, things that are built for
general public use (Domina, 2011). Nebraska has become a tough battleground for
Trans Canada eminent domain s issues as it is the only state in which landowners
have successfully stood their ground against the company. Some of the landowners in
those particular states can only hold for so long and eventually settle with Trans
Canada as
Taking a Look at the Turitea Aviation Company
SWOT analysis of Turitea Aviation
Strengths
Johnny Johnson
From the beginning, the company has had a strong reputation for being an excellent
Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul organisation. Johnny Johnson who is credited to
being an extremely efficient worker, and has the ability to thoroughly plan his next
move is still an employee at Turitea Aviation. He has twice served on the board and
is a valuable employee to the company. Johnson can be considered a strength to the
company for the following reasons;
He can be directly linked to the early success of the company. This indicates that he
is a competent employee who may have the ability in aiding the new CEO to
bringing Turitea Aviation back to its former glory.
He has been noted to have a consultative management style . In a company that has
just been through the stress associated with a resignation of an undesirable leader,
Johnsons management will be extremely beneficial for repairing and adopting a
new company culture. Employees will be looking for someone to lead/someone to
follow. Johnson, a senior employee, encourages staff to approach him for
information and advice. This will make staff fell as though he is one of the team not
an individual that is above everyone else as Edgar may have been perceived.

Exoplanet Research Paper
Definition of a planet
In its resolution in 2006, the IAU classified the solar system bodies into three distinct
categories:
(1) A planet is a celestial body that: (a) is in orbit around the Sun, (b) has sufficient
mass for its self gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a
hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, and (c) has cleared the neighborhood
around its orbit;
(2) A dwarf planetis a celestial body that: (a) is in orbit around the Sun, (b) has
sufficient mass for its self gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a
hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, (c) has not cleared the neighborhood

It can either be revolving around a stellar remnant or brown dwarf. The planet can
also be a rogue planet (which do not orbit around a star) and can be considered as an
exoplanet.
Exoplanet classification is facilitated by the fact that a distinction in mass between
planets and smaller bodies is not yet relevant. In contrast, nomenclature is
complicated by the problems of distinguishing planets from brown dwarfs. The IAU
2003 recommendation, by the working group on extrasolar planets (IAU, 2003) is:
(1) Objects with true masses below the limiting mass for thermonuclear fusion of
deuterium (currently calculated to be 13MJUPITER for objects of solar metallicity)
that orbit stars or stellar remnants are planets (no matter how they formed). The
minimum mass required for an extrasolar object to be considered a planet should be
the same as that used in the solar system;
(2) Sub stellar objects with true masses above the limiting mass for thermonuclear
fusion of deuterium are brown dwarfs, no matter how they formed nor where they are

Birt Hogg DubГ© (BHD) syndrome (OMIM 135150) is a rare, autosomal
dominant, hamartoma disorder which is characterized by benign tumours of the hair

renal neoplasia. BHD was first described in 1977 by three Canadian doctors Birt,

pneumothorax for BHD affected individuals, which they postulated to be due to the
presence of pulmonary cysts (Zbar et al.

CHAPTER1. INTRODUCTION
Introduction
Time is one of the major factors in learning .In order for learners to achieve success
in any field, they need time to learn ,practice and apply what they have learned to
fulfill goals (Farbman ,A N). Educational institutes in the US nowadays are trying to
improve the quality of the education offered to students, therefor, there is a growing
concern on how to use educational resources effectively such as time in learning.
Previous researches indicated that there is a direct relation between the amount of
time given to instruction and learning. This paper contributes to this growing
literature on the effect of the long time spending in the educational institutes on
students performance and achievement. In order to examine the impact of long
instructional hours on student success and performance an action research project
has been conducted at the ELS center in Murfreesboro. Aim of the Research
The main of this research is to investigate the students perspectives concerning the
long instructional hours in the ELS Center.
The Research Objectives The objectives of the project is to identify the advantages
and the disadvantages of the long working hours in the ELS center as well as offering
suggestions for alternative scheduling to improve the quality of education offered by
the center and might also increase students productivity and performance in the future.

Parable of the Sadhu Essay
Parable of the Sadhu: Analysis from three general approaches.
The Parable of the Sadhu presents a complex situation which action immediate action
was necessary. Sadhu, an Indian holy man, was discovered naked and barely alive by
a group of multicultural mountaineers during their journey. Each ethnic group did a
little to help the Sadhu, but none assumed full responsibility. Their priority was in
climbing the mountain rather than carrying Sadhu to the village where other people
could help him. Although the conditions of the trip were so that once the
mountaineers went down to the village they might not have been able to come back
up, the author of this essay still feels guilty for what was not done for the Sadhu

They focus on cultivating certain characteristics and look at every situation in terms
of its potential influence on the morale of the person (Donaldson 10). This method,
although much more helpful than utilitarianism, still produces an unclear response.
On one hand, kindness and compassion are both virtues that would be cultivated if
the mountaineers decided to help the Sadhu and carry him to the village. On the other
hand, if mountaineers continue their journey virtues such as courage and
determination would flourish. It is difficult to decide which virtues are more
important than others and therefore, this method is too ambiguous to be applied to
this situation.
Finally, there is deontology, also called non consequentialism. Deontology, in general,
focuses on the motives of the act and the concept of duty (Camenisch 2). Kantian
deontology assesses that there is a Categorical Imperative the highest moral principle
that should govern all human actions. This universal law is stated in two ways:
1) act in a way that one would act with anyone in the same situation, and so that one
does not create an undesirable world and 2) interact with people as human beings
with rights and dignity rather than means to an end (Camenisch 2). This moral
principle would be the most fair and useful in the Sadhu situation. McCoy s friend
mentions in the essay that the mountaineers would have probably acted differently if
the Sadhu were a member of

offer courses for these students, yet they are a forgotten student body. Many
Institutions of Higher learning are lacking in the fiscal infrastructure to support mental
health and wellness issues facing post traditional learners. In many cases post
traditional students are out of sight and consequently out of mind. For some
universities this unique group of students are not only the result of boosting student
enrollment but in many cases offering more sustainability for fiscally unstable
undergraduate and specialized programs. Ironically, Universities provide post
traditional students with little or no attention, support, and coaching strategies for
dealing with personal challenges, managing and navigating in and throughout a
plethora obligations.
At first glance the idea of students ranging from 30 years old and up needing support
with life, time management, mental health and wellness may sound absurd. After all
how did these students get this far in the first place. They are a full grown adults,
operating in their locus of control, with a modicum of mental wherewithal. Right?
You may ponder, what is there to help about?

Deborah Tannen There Is No Unmarked Woman
There is something subtle about attitudes toward women, something that many
people act in accordance to but are only subconsciously aware of. It is the constant
judgment that women face, and it is also something Deborah Tannen noticed while
sitting in an ordinary meeting one day. During that meeting, she found herself
noticing only the females of the room, not the men. Tannen then realized that it was
because The men s styles were unmarked (Tannen 389). While there are standard
hairstyles and clothing for men, there are none for women. Everything that a woman
wears is a reflection of who she is. In her piece titled There Is No Unmarked Woman,
she writes about her experience and concludes that women cannot escape judgment
no matter what they do.

In this piece, Tannen is sad and disappointed that women are still treated differently
than men are. According to Tannen, there is nothing a woman can resort to if she
does not want to be judged. That is, no woman is unmarked . For example, she
states that There is no woman s hair style that can be called standard, that says
nothing about her. The range of women s hair styles is staggering, but a woman
whose hair has no particular style is perceived as not caring about how she looks...
(390). If a woman were to opt for a plain hairstyle, it would still give a message. In
writing about this, Tannen comes to a startling conclusion. She finds that, even today,
women have less

Positive And Negative Effects Of Social Media
Ryff and Keyes (1995) propose psychological well being to be composed of six
elements: self acceptance; positive relations; autonomy; environmental mastery;
purpose in life and a sense of personal growth. This suggests that there are a variety
of ways in which an individual s wellbeing may be affected and provides insight into
how vulnerable individuals can be to environmental factors which may alter their
state of well being. Research proposes that social media an online environment in
which individuals can communicate and share their views with a wide audience
(Kaplan Haenlein, 2010) can have an effect on well being through its implications on
self esteem Valkenburg, Peter Schouten, 2006) as an individual s self esteem may

This insinuates that social media can have both beneficial and detrimental effects on
self esteem. Correlational research has further confirmed that there is a significant
relationship between the type of responses received and self esteem (Greitemeyer,
MГјgge Bollermann, 2014). However, the classification of the feedback as either
positive or negative is problematic as these terms describe a spectrum of feedback.
For example, a like and a comment are both forms of positive feedback, but one
requires more effort than the other so is a more genuine form of feedback.
Therefore these researchers have presented some evidence that social media can
affect self esteem which in turn effects well being and that those effects may be
harmful in nature, providing support for the notion that social media can be bad for
psychological well being in some cases.
On the other hand, longitudinal research has shown that found that positive feedback
on social media from peers was only related to short term increases in self esteem.
This suggests that social media only momentarily alters self esteem and that the
effects of these changes in self esteem are not enduring (Valkenburg, Koutamanis
Vossen, 2017). These conclusions do not provide support for previous research that
suggests that social media has a

Study habits itself affects the Academic performance of students taking up BS

The Looking Glass Reflection
Fantasy will always be more cherished than reality. Our imaginations give way to
disappointment when it s time to buckle down and come back to the real world.
However, for Nellie this is quite the opposite. In Anton Chekhov s The Looking Glass
character development, symbolism, and diction are used to communicate that reality
upsets our expectations.
Character Development is one of the most effective tools used to communicate the
overall theme of The Looking Glass. Character Development is used in The Looking
Glass to show the change of Nellie s perspective from the beginning of her vision to
the end. In this excerpt, Nellie describes what she sees in the mirror It was he, the
destined one, the object of long dreams and hopes. The destined one was for Nellie
everything, the significance of life, personal happiness, career. Nellie s filled with
new found wonder and excitement when she catches a glimpse of what she
presumes to be her future husband. In Nellie s perspective her life has always
been building up to find the perfect man and that man now stands before her in the
mirror. It s apparent that not only did Nellie idolize her husband but she s seems
very naive to not consider all the bad things that come with marriage. Life will test
a relationship between wife and husband Nellie s perspective changes dramatically
towards the end of the book, She looked into the looking glass and saw a pale, tear
stained face. There was no grey background now. I must have fallen asleep, she
thought with a sigh of relief. (Chekhov 7). Nellie has seen the full preview of what
her life is supposed to be and she s horrified. Nellie no longer is a victim of her
own naive complex she fully realizes that life is no picnic. The development of
Nellie s perspective of what seemed like a bright future has been shattered by the
universal fact that reality upsets expectations. We can never be certain of our future
and setting up false hopes is setting yourself up for a rude awakening to reality.
Character development was instrumental to the theme because it proves the point that
our expectations for our future is not certainly not what we will receive no matter
how hard we try to work towards. Chekhov s word choice in this
Patricia Benner
Patricia Benner s Model of Skills Acquisition is a middle range theory was established

career development in order to become a more competent nurse. Benner s theory
looks at the nurse s ability to perform nursing skills and his/her clinical knowledge,
and grades the nurse on a scale of: novice, advanced beginner, competent, proficient,
and expert. Benner s model shows the importance of retaining and rewarding nurses
for their clinical expertise and experience. Brenner s model uses concepts such as
skill acquisition, experience, clinical knowledge, and practical knowledge (McEwen
and Wills, 2014). Benner also states that the nurse should take on certain roles such

Too often I ve seen nurses that are nothing more than task monkeys that just see a
doctor s order and get it done without questioning it or even knowing whether it s

this. That s why it is important for nurses to have the clinical knowledge to be able
to notice when an order is wrong. I believe strongly that nurses should have
mandatory certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, etc. depending on the
unit they are on. Nurses should also be encouraged to pursue other certifications such
as CEN, CCRN, etc. As a nurse manager I would provide nurses with resources and
incentives to go out and earn these certifications in order to continue their education

The Annexation of Texas Essay
The Mexican War of 1846 1848 was one of major importance to U.S. history, but
has since fallen into annals of obscurity. It was the nation s first war fought on
foreign soil: a war that advocated the concept of manifest destiny , the United States
God given right to claim territory for the establishment of a free democratic society
(Stevenson 2009). Even though many historians claim the war was forced on Mexico
by slaveholders greedy for new territory, President John Polk viewed the war as an
opportunity to defend the annexation of Texas, establish the Rio Grande as its
border, and to acquire the Mexican territories of California and New Mexico
(Stevenson 2009).

Mexican President Jose Herrera refused to negotiate (Stevenson 2009). After failed
negotiations with Mexico, Polk ordered General Zachary Taylor to position his
troops in the disputed territory, north of the Rio Grande River. Mexico, seeing this
as an act of aggression struck first and killed several of Tyler s men. After receiving
word of the skirmish, President Polk petitioned congress, claiming Mexico has
invaded our territory, and shed American blood upon the American soil (Tindall Shi
2010, p. 401). In response, congress unanimously passed the resolution and on May
13, 1846, the United States declared war (Tindall Shi 2010).
In addition to Polk s scheme to pull Mexico into war with the United States, he was
also hatching a plan in the west. With the help of John C. Freemont and a group of
American frontiersmen, known as the Bear Flaggers , he organized a revolt
against Mexican rule and liberated most of California before the U.S. invasion
began. Likewise, Both California and New Mexico were occupied by American
forces prior to the assault on northern Mexico. (Tindall Shi 2010). Securing the
territories of Texas, New Mexico, and California ignited widespread support for the
war and re established the national America s sentiment of manifest destiny. (Tindall
Shi 2010).
After the bloody assault into the Mexican heart land and capture of the Mexican

Suffering and Identity in Donne and Wit
One s identity may be questioned when suffering; ultimately suffering is what
creates one s sense of self or what destroys it. The poetry of John Donne and the
play W;t, 1993, by Margaret Edson, both illustrate and explore a sense of suffering
and identity. In John Donne s poetry, suffering, both emotionally and physically
allows the speaker to understand their identity in more depth, in comparison to
Margaret Edson s play, W;t, Vivian s suffering
leads her identity to be stripped away.
In Donne s sonnet, If poysonous mineralls we are shown suffering religiously and

point out that what we see on the western edge of a flat map is also to be found on
the eastern edge, showing that he believes life and death are connected to each

zombie worm, and the yeti crab. Their ways of adaptations allow them to survive in
the intense deep sea environments. First and foremost, every species has different
ways of adapting to the world around them. These simple adaptations allow them to
survive their extreme living environments. One creature has many features that

One of these creatures are the yeti crabs. These crabs live near the thermal vents at
the bottom of the deep sea. Their white color could be due to their obscured
environment. There is a reason these crabs are called yeti crabs . Yetis have hair,
so this would represent the crab s distinct features. As said in the article, these
crabs are Dubbed yeti crabs for their hairy chests and legs, these creatures are new
to science (p.3). This has grown on the crabs over many years to adapt to the
thermal vents around its living space. The yeti crab lives in a mixed climate where
it is very hot and very cold at the same time. When these two temperatures collide,
chemical reactions produce an array of mineral compounds, which many organisms
consider food (p.2). Animals such as the yeti crab depend on chemistry rather than
photosynthesis. Since these crabs are new to science and new to the studies of
scientists, they aren t sure but conjecture that mineral eating bacteria might grow on
the crabs hairs and that the crabs might scoop up the bacteria (p.3). This differs from
the other crabs in the world. Maybe the more the yeti crabs live near the thermal
vents, they will adapt even more and evolve

Battle Of Great Britain Essay
War is horrible, but slavery is worse, and you may be sure that the British people
would rather go down fighting than live in servitude. вЃ· By July 10th, 1940,
Germany had overrun Europe using Blitzkrieg method and then declared war on
Great Britain. This war was the first military campaign in history to be fought
entirely in the air. Conquering all the odds, the Royal Air Forcestood alone and
defeated the German Luftwaffe. Even when facing certain defeat, Britain prevailed.
The leadership of Great Britain, radar, and the Royal Air Force without a doubt were
the three most crucial reasons into why Britain prevailed.
The leadership of Great Britain played an important role to Britain s success during
the Battle of Britain. Winston Churchill and Lord Beaverbrook were two of the most
important people to thank when it comes to Great Britain s success. Winston
Churchill had a defiant attitude and stirring speeches that inspired the nation at a time
when many people thought britain faced certain defeat.В№ Almost a month before the

Radar played a big role in the Dowding system as well. It allowed the RAF to
respond as fast as possible to the incoming german attacks and use the resources of
pilots and aircrafts to their full potential. Radar also gave the Royal Air Force early
warning signs on German attacks or raids. It gave the fighters valuable time to
prepare for German attacks and made sure they were not caught alone and
defenceless. Another benefit of the radar was that the RAF had more than fifty radars
stations in the south of Britain under their possession, which gave them an edge over
Germany throughout the battle. Overall, radar was very effective and it helped Great
Britain have an edge over Germany throughout the entire

Religion Is The Belief And Worship Of A Higher Power
Religion is the belief and worship of a higher power. Every religion is important
and special in their own way. There are three major aspects with religions such as,
beliefs, history, and rituals that all come together to create and shape the ways of a
religion. Today, religion is one of the most violent and controversial reasons behind
some of the most breaking news you see on television. Religionmakes people who
they are and is the foundation for all societies and cultures.
Belief
Christianity is the belief that Jesus is Gods son and that when he died he became the
God, the Son, and the Holy spirit, known as the Trinity. It is believed that if you

History Christianity started about 2000 years ago, in Israel with Jesus Christ and
his faithful group of disciples. Jesus was a Jew and practiced the Jewish faith.
Jesus went around village to village healing and teaching people. Soon men started
to follow him around and called him their teacher, thus they became Jesus
disciples. Jesus taught them about sin and how people have a lost relationship
with God. He gave distinct rules as to what is right and what is wrong, ad issued
out punishments and lessons to enforce his teachings. For example, God needed
Jonah but he ran from God. So in return God prepared a giant whale to swallow
him. Previously stated, people believe that Jesus died on the Roman cross for
everyone s sins and then rose three days later. Christianity is known as the largest
religion in the world. Buddhism sprung in India around the fifth century BC. Buddha
was born as a royal prince in India. By the time he was twenty nine years old is when
he gave up being prince and went into the forest to meditate. Buddha stopped his
meditation after six years to teach about the first Wheel of Dharma. Buddha taught
eighty four teachings throughout his life time. He taught how to live life with peace.
Buddhism today has the third largest membership of all faiths after Christianity and
Islam. Buddha is also know as Siddhartha Gautama or Enlightened One. There is an

Nikola Tesla Personality
Nikola Tesla was an innovative intellectual of the Gilded Age whose ideas were far
ahead of his time. The modern world would be nothing like it is today without Tesla s
insights. He revolutionized the scientific community and the world s knowledge of
electric current, but there were plenty of other interesting facets of his life and career.
He was much more than an engineer, and unfortunately, many of his peers
underestimated him on account of his quirkiness and battle with mental illness.
Tesla was born in Croatia in 1856. Even the day of his birth foreshadowed the
greatness that would result from his life. Tesla was born during a strong storm and
the midwife declared he will be a child of the storm, ( The Extraordinary Life ). From

He indeed suffered mental illness and developed numerous phobias over his
lifetime. Some of his fears can be logically attributed to traumatic events in his life
like his fear of germs. His near death experience with cholera as a teen traces to the
fact that he practiced very strict hygiene, ( The Extraordinary Life ). Others, such
as his phobia of pearls, have no known explanation. That specific fear crippled him
to the point that he refused to speak to women wearing them, ( 8 Things ). He was
known to fixate on his appearance and strictly held the belief that in order to be
successful, one needed to look successful, ( 8 Things), which may go along with
his obsession over pearls. He had a strange obsession with pigeons and spent an
oddly large portion of his daily life feeding and, he claimed, communicating with the
city s pigeons, ( Nikola Tesla), while living in New York. The history books most
often portray him as an isolated person who dedicated his entire life to science, but
this simply is not the entire story. Surprisingly, he was quite the socialite. In his
personal life he was acknowledged as having a terrific sense of humor, ( 8 Things
). He was good friends with Mark Twain, whom he photographed in one of the first
pictures ever lit by phosphorescent light, ( Nikola Tesla ). Mark Twain is said to
have visited Tesla often and even participated in tests for some of Tesla s
inventions. Tesla even threw elaborate parties and knew many of the most famous
people of his day, ( The Extraordinary Life ). Tesla s life and legacy had just as many
high points as it did low points. He was a genius trapped by mental illness but human
Tom Stoppard Analysis
Tom Stoppard and How Both Plays Imply a Similar Message
Philosophical Playwright Tom Stoppard was born TomГЎs StraГјssler on July 3rd,
1937 in ZlГn, Czechoslovakia. He grew up in Singapore as well as in India during
World War II. Stoppard s Biological father was killed in Singapore, so instead of
moving to England in the year of 1946 with his mother and Father, his stepdad had
filled the hole that was left by his father. Tom Stoppard s education took place with
schools in Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire. This was where he became a journalist
working for the Western Daily Press in 1954 through to 1980 as well as the Bristol
Evening World in 1958 through to 1960. In 1962 Stoppard became a theatre critic
for Scene magazine in London and also began writing plays for Television and
Radio shows, including The Dissolution of Dominic Boot in 1964, A Walk on the
Water , televised in 1963, and The Stand Ins , which was later revised as The Real
Inspector Hound in 1968. The play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead , which
was published in 1967, premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1966. This
play had caught the attention of Kenneth Tynan, which brought recognition to the
National Theatre. Not only was it produced at the National Theatre but it was also
produced at the National in 1967 and on Broadway in 1967, winning a Tony Award
for Best Play in America in 1968. In 1972, his play Jumpers , was staged at the
National Theatre and his adaptation of Lorca s The House of
Uranium Vs Plutonium Research Paper
They have always used Uranium and Plutonium isotopes in nuclear power plants to
create energy. These isotopes have lots of hazards however. For example, they run
the risk of having a nuclear meltdown. There is another type of nuclear power that is
a lot less risky and it is called Thorium. Not only is thorium less risky, it is also more
abundant in nature than Uranium. They were testing Thorium at the next generation
nuclear powerplant I was working at. You might be asking, if it is more abundant
and less risky, why are they just now using it? The idea for using thorium has been
around since 1960. In 1973, they were proposals for research in the United States.
These proposals didn t fall through though and that is because of nuclear weapons.

These control rods are not guaranteed to work. They can be affected in a reactor error.
That is why older reactors could overheat and lose control causing an accident. A
thorium reactor can be instantly shut down by turning off the stream of neutrons.
Shutting down the cycle means stopping the breeding of Th 232 into U 233. This
will keep things from getting any more out of hand. Also, the thorium reactors can be
created to function in a liquid state while the uranium and plutonium reactors cannot.
When the older reactors were heading towards a meltdown, there was no way to
stop the fission reactions. A thorium reactor design called LFTR has a plug at the
bottom of the reactor that melts if the temperature of the reacting fuel gets too high.
If this were to happen, all the hot liquid would fall into a container and the reaction
will stop. That keeps things from getting out of control. Thorium has other benefits
to. Some of those being: less nuclear waste, easier to obtain, and it is harder to create
a bomb with (most would say that s

Chapter 1
MochГ© the Beadle s story is very disturbing. He had experienced horrible
atrocities and risked his life to warn his fellow townspeople. However, the latter did
not believe him yet alone listen to him. They called him the madman. This passage
is hard for the reader, who knows what is going to happen to the Jews later on
(situational irony). MochГ© was also foreshadowing what was going to happen to
the Jews. This warning also brings about the postulation that many Jews could have
escaped the Holocaust had they believed in the some firsthand testimonies.

Never shall I forget that nocturnal silence which deprived me, for all eternity, of the
desire to live. Never shall I forget those moments which murdered my God and my
soul and turned my dreams to dust. Never shall I forget these things, even if I am
condemned to live as long as God Himself. Never. The repetition of the phrase
Never shall I forget really emphasises on and illustrated that what Wiesel is
describing will be engraved in his memory forever, that it is impossible to forget. I
also think that he wants to spread the word about what happened in the holocaust,
raise awareness and make sure that nothing even remotely like it ever happens again.
On page 50, when the Gypsy deportee struck Eliezer s father, Eliezer does not react
at all. Here, Eliezer himself and the reader realise that he has changed, that his new
surroundings have changed him. The inhumane way of treating the Jews has
transformed them too to behave like animals; only fending for themselves and
leaving the others to live their own lives or in this case, die their own deaths.
After that, I had no other name When Eliezer has his number engraved onto his left
arm, he feels a loss of identity. This also contributes to the change in character.
Chapter 4
On page 72, We were no longer afraid of that kind of death shows that the Jews had
already gone through so much that they were not afraid to die from a dropped bomb.
They would have
Astrology Is Not Real Science
Astrology has been around for centuries, and people have used the stars, moon, and

introduced that astrology was replaced. Still, there are people who believe in this
pseudoscience and read their horoscopes diligently. Fortunately, scientists have
evidence to prove astrologyis not a true science. Scientists have different ideas of
why astrology is not considered real science. One point made by Kelly, Janzen,
Saklofske (2017) talks about the consistency of findings. Their article states:
Moreover, there is nothing hinting at the sort of internal consistency that would arise

In study conducted by Carlson (1983) they looked at astrologers and regular
individuals to see if they could (1) guess their chart and (2) the astrologers were

written:
Despite the fact that we worked with some of the best astrologers in the country,
recommended by the advising astrologers for their expertise in astrology and in
their ability to use the CPI, despite the fact that every reasonable suggestion made
by the advising astrologers was worked into the experiment, despite the fact that the
astrologers approved the design and predicted 50% as the minimum effect they
would expect to see, astrology failed to perform at a level better than chance. (p. 18)
This study proved that even the professional astrologers could not match the correct
personality test with the astrological chart better than the fifty fifty chance. This
experiment shows that each person s astrological sign does not describe their
personality, because when the professionals did pick the sign that described their
personality, it was not the correct

What And How The Software Requirement Specification (
Srs...
The debate about what and how the software requirement specification (SRS)
should be made between customers and contractors or suppliers continues. Also
most computer science engineers and researchers agree that, software
requirements specification permits a rigorous assessment of requirements before
design can begin and reduces later redesign. It should also provide a realistic basis
for estimating product costs, risks, and schedules [1], in other words, the SRS is
the step that one would use to find the path to getting one s own goal. Since there
is not a standard for the SRS [14], it is necessary to find the hidden pattern for both
the people who is making the SRS and the people who is reading the SRS.
Furthermore, in software design engineers can refer the SRS as a part of larger
problem solving process which encompasses problem determination and generates
the solution for the problem. Thus, researchers consider that it is highly possible
that the SRS can be classified under the problem solving cycle [2], which engineers
will recognize the problem, re define the problem in terms of making systems,
develop a strategy plan to fix the problem, organize the knowledge of the problem
domain figure out the resources that user s disposal by listing functionalities, monitor
user s implementations, and evaluate the solution for accuracy. In SRS is
unnecessary to follow the exact order but it is highly likely that completed one
section with a problem another problem will pop up in

Essay Writing On Environment

  • 1. Essay Writing On Environment Writing an essay on the subject of the environment poses its own set of challenges, requiring a delicate balance between scientific accuracy, social relevance, and literary finesse. First and foremost, delving into the complexities of environmental issues demands a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Navigating through the intricate web of climate change, pollution, biodiversity loss, and sustainable development requires a thorough grasp of scientific concepts, statistics, and real-world examples. Moreover, the task becomes challenging due to the dynamic nature of environmental concerns. New developments, scientific findings, and global events continually reshape the landscape of environmental discourse. Staying current with the latest research and incorporating these insights into the essay adds another layer of complexity. The challenge further intensifies when attempting to strike a balance between raising awareness about environmental issues and inspiring action. An effective essay on the environment should not only inform but also motivate readers to reflect on their own behaviors and advocate for positive change. Crafting a persuasive narrative that resonates with diverse audiences while avoiding a didactic tone requires finesse and a deep understanding of human psychology. Additionally, essayists must grapple with the ethical considerations inherent in environmental discussions. Topics like environmental justice, the impact of human activities on vulnerable communities, and the intersectionality of environmental issues necessitate a nuanced and empathetic approach. Addressing these facets requires a heightened sensitivity to diverse perspectives and a commitment to inclusivity. Finally, the challenge lies in weaving all these elements into a coherent and engaging essay that captivates the reader's attention from the introduction to the conclusion. The artistry of language, the flow of ideas, and the ability to communicate complex concepts in an accessible manner are essential components of successful environmental essays. In conclusion, crafting an essay on the environment is a formidable task that demands a multidimensional skill set. The writer must navigate scientific intricacies, stay abreast of current developments, balance persuasion with information, confront ethical considerations, and master the art of storytelling. The challenge is not just in documenting the state of the environment but in inspiring change and fostering a deeper connection between the reader and the world they inhabit. For those seeking assistance in tackling such complex topics, it's worth noting that similar essays and more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net. • 2. We Zamyatin Analysis We, by Yevgeny Zamyatin, took place 200 years in the future in the city called One State also it took place after a 200 year war. This was a place that had letters and numbers as their name instead of their own birth name, and everything single thing they did was controlled nobody really had their own freedom. During the novel D 503, the main protagonist, goes through a series of events throughout the whole story, and the main two things that stood out was how he put all his trust and love into somebody and ended up getting betrayed, and as well how they lived in One State compared to how people live in the United States is very different today, from the way people act to how the society is run is a difference. I felt that D 503 getting betrayed by I 330 was karma for him working with the United Nations, and being the designer of the integral and having power didn t make it any better. As a reader you could understand in a sense on why I 330 acted the way she did towards D 503 and didn t want to love him the way he did towards her, because he had so much power and everything she does could be used against her so that s why also see why it is understandable that I 330 didn t really open up to him throughout the story, and ended up using his own power against himself and for the wrong reasons, because she would betray him and get him to do fulfill all of her wishes, rather than to get betrayed by D 503 and get her love taken for granted. Like the expression that everybody in this society once heard before, It s a dog eat dog world . Even at end of the story, everything backfire on I 330 and her underground, I felt like she really didn t have
  • 3. Decision Making And The Prospect Theory Introduction Decision making is the act of choosing the best solution to a problem depending on its value and the preferences of the decision maker. In the first part of this essay, we will explore the Expected Utility theory and the Prospect Theory, which are normative and descriptive approaches to making decisions with inherent risks. The first part of the essay argues that Expected Utility Theory is a less viable hypothesis to decision making and is fundamentally flawed compared to the Prospect Theory in description and function. Prospect theory is a better model for decision making because firstly, decisions are not often made objectively and can be affected by decision weights. Secondly, individuals are not risk averse as suggested by the utility theory, but are instead loss averse. Lastly, individuals evaluate decisions not by their final resting utility, but instead they react dependently based on their reference point. The second part of the essay will delve into the topic of heuristics that emerge in investment decision making. The main biases that investors make include disposition effect, anchoring and adjustments bias and overconfidence. Part 1. Expected utility theory states what rational decision makers should do in order to maximise their utility. On the other hand, Prospect Theory describes how individuals make decisions when faced with perceived risk and uncertainty. Utility can be explained by how much an individual values an extra unit of wealth.

Ruakura has been recognised as a long term growth cell for growing populations through employment, industrial and lifestyle opportunities within Hamilton City (O Dwyer 2016). It is situated within what is described as the Golden Triangle , between Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga, therefore is seen as an ideal location for growth hub and portfacilities, due to the access between ports of Auckland and Tauranga (Tainui Group Holdings 2016). This area is located within the urban rural fringe, across 822 hectare (refer to Figure 1). Due to this location, urban development is prohibited within the area, according to the operative district plan rules. This develops the issue of the plan change through Tainui Group Holdings Limited and Chedworth Properties Limited aiming to proceed with development of the inland port in this area (Environmental Protection Authority 2013). Through the proposed plan change, it pursues to add objectives, and policies to the District Plan that allows for urban development, therefore removing the prohibited activity status of urban development from the plan (Turner Kyle 2014). There are many stakeholders, and individuals involved through this development and plan change consent. These groups involved include HamiltonCity Council, Tainui Group Holdings Limited and Chedworth Properties limited, as well as many other submitters, from other organisations and affected parties. 1.Analysis 1.1Physical Surroundings The surroundings during the hearing
  • 5. I Want You For The Us Army Poster Analysis I Want You for the U.S. Army Posters are splashy, large format images, which are accompanied by a short text. Usually, the purposes of the posters are to agitate, advertise, inform, or teach people. Posters from World War I and World War II often used metaphors, different figures, events, and places. During the First World War propaganda posters were enormously widespread. Artists used them to agitate people to conscription, subscriptions to war loans, and aid to the wounded soldiers. One of the most important posters from World War Iand World War II is I Want You for U.S. Army by James Mantgomery Flagg. This poster is very influential because of its figure, the message, and the effect on the people. The first thing that took my attention

Essay On Data Breaching Referring to an article by Identity Force, there were investigations found that there was an act of data breaching involved in the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (Daitch 2017). This tool is used when college students are attentively trying to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Not until March 2017, is when federal officials observed what was actually going on and took down the tool. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The DRT allows students and parents to access their Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) information through an interface with the IRS to complete the FAFSA by transferring the AGI information directly into their FAFSA application form (2016). This is one of the main reasons why it was very easy for these cyber terrorists to get ahold of viable information. There had been a few attempted accesses to the individual AGI, following September 2016, which led to an arrest that same year. This administration is still continuing criminal investigations of this activity and looking over evidence obtained from the investigations of the e Authentication misuse to determine if the FAFSA and DRT criminal activity were ever launched by the same people or groups. At one point, there was evidence found as far back as February 2016, where the person involved in the e Authentication investigation discussed the availability of AGI information using FAFSA and the DRT. Then after looking at a whole other file of information and email addresses, there is decent evidence that shows the same people and groups engaged in criminal activity on the e Authentication portal are involved in this misuse of the FAFSA and the DRT. Long Term Ramifications Long term ramifications that could be involved with this threat would be cyber terrorists being able to find a
  • 7. A Brief Note On The California Pit Disaster Hannah Park Period 6 Mrs. Suto Berkeley Pit Disaster Introduction When one hears someone say the word Berkeley , there are many different ideas that come to one s mind, such as Berkeley as in a girl s name, the famous Berkeley University, and much more; however, of the many Berkeley s in this world, it is evident that the Berkeley Pit is of the most serious environmental problem. A former open pit copper mine, Berkeley Pit, is now one of the most closely observed disaster in our nature today. The cause of the development of the chemical disaster traces back to the 1950s. As the Industrial Revolution took place, mining took a significant role in city life. According to the Berkeley Pit Public Education Committee, in 1955, copper prices ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ultimately, about 1,000,000,000 tons of material were mined from the Berkeley Pit (Wikipedia, 2015). Therefore, the local problem of specifically finding an alternative to underground mining was solved successfully. Although this original problem was solved, this brought about another serious issue that still continues today. No longer being able to extract a good amount from the mines anymore, the mines of Berkeley Pit were finally closed. Now, until this point of time, the Berkeley Pit was just a gigantic hole in the ground, but soon enough the pit started to fill with groundwater. To keep the pit from flooding, the Anaconda Company had to install water pumps in which inhibited the rapid rate of the filling of water. By 1983, however, they eventually shut down all the water pumps and left the pit unattended. The metals and minerals still in the presence of the mine dissolved into the groundwater and rain and created a body of water that is as toxic as lemon juice. No fish or organisms, except for algae, could survive such extreme toxicity. How Science was applied To be more specific, one must learn more about the relationship between the process in which this disaster with chemicals happened and the toxicology. As stated by Pellicori, Gammons, and Poulson in 2005, the Berkley Pit when they analyzed the sample mine water from the acidic pit, they looked into geochemical and stable isotopic

I am not one to be interested in the government and its inner workings. I don t watch the news, nor do I read the papers, but this topic is relevant to society and is appealing to me. While doing my research, I was shocked to know that the anti political dynasty bill has already been a subject that has been debated on in the 1987 Constitutional Commission. Commissioner Vicente Foz started the debate when he proposed the prohibition of political dynasties in the Philippines. The opposition however was led by Commissioner Teodulo Navidad saying that this would be declining the people their power to choose and elect their governors. After a series of more debates and arguments, stating the disadvantages and advantages, the proposal was rejected. In the year 2011, Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago resurfaced the anti dynasty bill using the previous arguments for the passage of the bill, yet the anti dynasty bill did not get anywhere again. Entry into Jonestown was denied for three days before the group was welcomed into the town with dinner and entertainment for the night on November 17th 1978. Throughout the night members of the group were handed notes from Jonestown citizens asking for help defecting from the cult. The next day the visitors began to leave Jonestown with the defecting members of the cult, this sent Jones into a panic, he believed that the end was near for himself and The Peoples Temple. This will occur at midday, late afternoon, after sunset and at night. During these breaks a call is made from the minaret calling the people to pray. This ritual is that a person must wash themselves in clean running water, in the order of hands, mouth, nose, face, arms and then wet hands are run over the head and neck, then the ears and finally the feet. During the prayer it also involves specific postures which are standing, stooping, kneeling and also sitting. Whilst kneeling, the forehead and chin must be touching the ground. • 13. The Notebook By Nicholas Sparks Essay A romantic drama film is a genre that explores the difficult aspects that come with love. The plot usually includes two people that are in love that can t be together the way they want to be due to obstacles. The obstacles in a romantic drama film can include a family s disapproval, to forbidden love, to one s own psychological restrictions. The Notebook is a movie based on a best selling novel that was written by author Nicholas Sparks. This is a love story that is composed of a series of obstacles between two young people that are madly in love with each other. It perfectly fits and displays the criteria for a successful romantic drama film because it includes the complexity of love, and elicits emotions. In The Notebook there are countless obstacles between the two main characters that are in love. This allows the movie to fit into the drama aspect of the genre, displaying the complexity of their love. Complex love includes the drama, and difficulties of a relationship, while still being closely connected to the romantic parts of a relationship. This is prevalent in The Notebook. Allie and Noah, played by well known actors Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, were two people from different social classes. Allie was from a wealthy, privileged upper class family while Noah was making around 40 cents an hour at a lumber yard job. While love is not confined to the amount of money that each person has, in the 1940 s, which is the setting of the movie, social class played an

Organic growth is when a firm expands its existing capacity or range of activities by extending its premises or building new factories for example. External growth however is when two or more businesses come together via a merger or a take over. There are many implications of external growth. Its plot follows the basic structure of Rosalynde, published in 1590 by Thomas Lodge. The Tale of Gamelyn, written by an unknown author in the mid fourteenth century, is a violent Middle English narrative that was found among Chaucer s papers and provides further details for Shakespeare s work. With the Forest of Ardenne serving as an escape for our main characters, Shakespeare takes his details from the countless Robin Hood ballads popular in Medieval England. This moral, pointed out to us in the last paragraph of Renaissance writing, says nothing about the matters of interaction between men and women, only the interaction between brothers. The women in the plot are deemphasized. In As You Like It, Shakespeare breaks all convention and a female character delivers the epilog and speaks directly to the women calling them to action. The playwright goes so far as to have Rosalind address the women audience members first. Shakespeare clearly alters his plot to place primary emphasis on the women s roles in his play, how they effect change and how they move and affect a world dominated by men. Lodge s Rosalynde lives in a world where human behavior is repeatedly explained by reference to long lists of infallible precepts that are said to determine our reactions, not as a reaction to what other people have done or how they feel about each other (Stout 279). Shakespeare views love as grounded in mutual behavior, and the interaction between people helps make possible what will happen in the future. In Lodge, a common explanation for a character s actions is some sort

Carnegie had many different attributes, making it difficult for historians to characterize him. Some argue that he was a robber baron (someone who uses immoral techniques to gain wealth), a philanthropist (someone who donates money for the good of others), or a captain of industry (someone who becomes very rich through business). This motivation likely stemmed from his own poor upbringing and success in life. In his essay titled Gospel of Wealth, Carnegie encouraged wealthy people to give money to the public and suggested seven fields in which to invest the money. In another essay, called The Advantages of Poverty, he provided insight into one of his motivations for philanthropy, by claiming wealthy philanthropists can find refuge from self questioning in the thought of the much greater portion of their means which is being spent on others. Carnegie also believed that when his mind was solely preoccupied with making the largest possible amount of money as quickly as possible, he was degrad[ing himself] beyond hope of permanent recovery. Carnegie was particularly interested in giving libraries to various towns, but this quickly became a business like gift. First, there was an application process the town had to go through. Then, only gifting the building of the library, Carnegie would demand that the town collect taxes to pay for the books and maintain the library (which usually cost every year about 10% of the amount of money Carnegie donated). However, Carnegie s library giving had a pattern. After he broke up the union in Braddock, he gifted that town a library. In a response to a letter from Homestead asking for a gift, he replied if Homestead would only do something for him, he would be pleased to build a library there. Towns were so afraid that libraries signified their destruction that 225 towns refused Carnegie s offer of a library, as his offer was more threat than promise. Most black feminists deny it is possible for women to focus exclusively on their oppression as women. On the contrary, each woman needs to understand how everything about her provides part of the explanation for her subordinate status. In Black Feminist Thought, Patricia Hill Collinsexplores the words and ideas of Black feminist intellectuals as well as those African American women outside academia. In reclaiming and legitimizing the ideas of women of such diverse backgrounds, Collins demonstrates that there is indeed a distinct philosophical tradition among African American women that is both Afrocentric and feminist in its themes and approaches. According to Collins, African American women inhabit a sex/genderhierarchy in which inequalities of race and social class have been sexualized. By examining the links between sexuality and power, Collins reveals how important controlling Black women s sexuality has been to the effective operation of domination overall. In other words, Collins claims that sexuality becomes a domain of restriction and repression when it is tied to race, class, and gender. This historical study will examine the problems of monastic issues in preservation of roman civilization and the problem of Christian conversions for pagan societies in Europe during the early Medieval period of Europe. The purpose of European monasteries was to act in accordance with the Church of Rome s policy to preserve Roman traditions in government and Christian practices in primarily pagan tribal communities. During this time, the primary writings of St. Benedict define the purpose of the monasteryto spread Christianityas a source of religious power throughout Europe. More so, the role of monastic culture in Europe society defines the preservation of roman administration and culture throughout areas considered to be barbaric , such as the German tribal kingdom along the Rhine that St. Columban describes in the Boat Song. In addition to preserving Christian society in the Roman Catholic model, the writings of St. Columba define the monastic rules of the early medieval monastery as a vehicle to promote Roman Catholic cultural values as a replacement for the polder pagan tribal models found throughout Europe. In essence, the successful rise of Roman Catholic monasteries in the early medieval period define the problems of preserving Roman civilization and by converting pagans that monks had to endure within European pagan culture. The preservation of Roman culture and administration was a crucial problem for monks during the 5th and 6th centuries throughout Germany

High level waste consists of used uranium rods that can no longer be used for energy or produced into other elements. The majority of low level waste consists of water and used equipment from the nuclear reactors. Both types of waste are highly toxic and it was estimated that about 200,000 cubic meters of low level waste and about 10,000 cubic meters of high level waste are produced world wide each year. These wastes are usually encapsulated in multi layer containers that are buried in deep geological areas (Figure 5). • 35. The Looking Glass Reflection Fantasy will always be more cherished than reality. Our imaginations give way to disappointment when it s time to buckle down and come back to the real world. However, for Nellie this is quite the opposite. In Anton Chekhov s The Looking Glass character development, symbolism, and diction are used to communicate that reality upsets our expectations. Character Development is one of the most effective tools used to communicate the overall theme of The Looking Glass. Character Development is used in The Looking Glass to show the change of Nellie s perspective from the beginning of her vision to the end. In this excerpt, Nellie describes what she sees in the mirror It was he, the destined one, the object of long dreams and hopes. The destined one was for Nellie everything, the significance of life, personal happiness, career. Nellie s filled with new found wonder and excitement when she catches a glimpse of what she presumes to be her future husband. In Nellie s perspective her life has always been building up to find the perfect man and that man now stands before her in the mirror. It s apparent that not only did Nellie idolize her husband but she s seems very naive to not consider all the bad things that come with marriage. Life will test a relationship between wife and husband Nellie s perspective changes dramatically towards the end of the book, She looked into the looking glass and saw a pale, tear stained face. There was no grey background now. I must have fallen asleep, she thought with a sigh of relief. (Chekhov 7). Nellie has seen the full preview of what her life is supposed to be and she s horrified. Nellie no longer is a victim of her own naive complex she fully realizes that life is no picnic. The development of Nellie s perspective of what seemed like a bright future has been shattered by the universal fact that reality upsets expectations. We can never be certain of our future and setting up false hopes is setting yourself up for a rude awakening to reality. Character development was instrumental to the theme because it proves the point that our expectations for our future is not certainly not what we will receive no matter how hard we try to work towards. Chekhov s word choice in this
  • 36. Patricia Benner Patricia Benner s Model of Skills Acquisition is a middle range theory was established in 1984. Benner thought that it was important for nurses to continue education and career development in order to become a more competent nurse. Benner s theory looks at the nurse s ability to perform nursing skills and his/her clinical knowledge, and grades the nurse on a scale of: novice, advanced beginner, competent, proficient, and expert. Benner s model shows the importance of retaining and rewarding nurses for their clinical expertise and experience. Brenner s model uses concepts such as skill acquisition, experience, clinical knowledge, and practical knowledge (McEwen and Wills, 2014). Benner also states that the nurse should take on certain roles such as, helping, teaching or coaching, diagnostic client monitoring, effective management of rapidly changing situations, administering and monitoring therapeutic interventions and regimens, monitoring and ensuring quality of health care practices, organizational and work role competencies ... Too often I ve seen nurses that are nothing more than task monkeys that just see a doctor s order and get it done without questioning it or even knowing whether it s an error or not. Doctor s make mistakes and nurses should be on the look out for this. That s why it is important for nurses to have the clinical knowledge to be able to notice when an order is wrong. I believe strongly that nurses should have mandatory certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, etc. depending on the unit they are on. Nurses should also be encouraged to pursue other certifications such as CEN, CCRN, etc. As a nurse manager I would provide nurses with resources and incentives to go out and earn these certifications in order to continue their education and bring back their knowledge to the unit by teaching and giving in services on what they

It was the nation s first war fought on foreign soil: a war that advocated the concept of manifest destiny , the United States God given right to claim territory for the establishment of a free democratic society (Stevenson 2009). Even though many historians claim the war was forced on Mexico by slaveholders greedy for new territory, President John Polk viewed the war as an opportunity to defend the annexation of Texas, establish the Rio Grande as its border, and to acquire the Mexican territories of California and New Mexico (Stevenson 2009). After failed negotiations with Mexico, Polk ordered General Zachary Taylor to position his troops in the disputed territory, north of the Rio Grande River. Mexico, seeing this as an act of aggression struck first and killed several of Tyler s men. After receiving word of the skirmish, President Polk petitioned congress, claiming Mexico has invaded our territory, and shed American blood upon the American soil (Tindall Shi 2010, p. 401). In response, congress unanimously passed the resolution and on May 13, 1846, the United States declared war (Tindall Shi 2010). In addition to Polk s scheme to pull Mexico into war with the United States, he was also hatching a plan in the west. With the help of John C. Freemont and a group of American frontiersmen, known as the Bear Flaggers , he organized a revolt against Mexican rule and liberated most of California before the U.S. invasion began. Likewise, Both California and New Mexico were occupied by American forces prior to the assault on northern Mexico. (Tindall Shi 2010). The poetry of John Donne and the play W;t, 1993, by Margaret Edson, both illustrate and explore a sense of suffering and identity. In John Donne s poetry, suffering, both emotionally and physically allows the speaker to understand their identity in more depth, in comparison to Margaret Edson s play, W;t, Vivian s suffering leads her identity to be stripped away. In the final stanza, Donne feels joy at the though of death as he feels he will recover his identity by reuniting with the lord. In the final stanza, he returns to the idea of the first stanza, summing up the poem s central message with the use of a paradox. Therefore that he may raise the Lord throws down. This paradox shows that to rise up to heaven, one must be thrown down by death, so therefore one must suffer to be accepted and united in a place where one s identity is established. • 51. What And How The Software Requirement Specification ( Srs... The debate about what and how the software requirement specification (SRS) should be made between customers and contractors or suppliers continues. Also most computer science engineers and researchers agree that, software requirements specification permits a rigorous assessment of requirements before design can begin and reduces later redesign. It should also provide a realistic basis for estimating product costs, risks, and schedules [1], in other words, the SRS is the step that one would use to find the path to getting one s own goal. Since there is not a standard for the SRS [14], it is necessary to find the hidden pattern for both the people who is making the SRS and the people who is reading the SRS. Furthermore, in software design engineers can refer the SRS as a part of larger problem solving process which encompasses problem determination and generates the solution for the problem. Thus, researchers consider that it is highly possible that the SRS can be classified under the problem solving cycle [2], which engineers will recognize the problem, re define the problem in terms of making systems, develop a strategy plan to fix the problem, organize the knowledge of the problem domain figure out the resources that user s disposal by listing functionalities, monitor user s implementations, and evaluate the solution for accuracy. In SRS is unnecessary to follow the exact order but it is highly likely that completed one section with a problem another problem will pop up in
