preferences because I am going to sell products which are consumed every day. After defining the

potential customers, and therefore maximize sales as well as create brand awareness and brand

After setting up the functional units, I had to decide on which product I would purchase and
sell. At that point, my strategy was to build a factory to purchase raw materials and to make
them products in order to sell them through my department store. Therefore, I decided to make
and sell Milk, Tv Dinner, Strawberry, and apple Crisp. When the department store started
operating, as a manager I had to plan and act even more carefully than before. As my new firm
entered into the market I had to offer my products in lower prices considering of course the short
run cost, in order to push the demand for these products up and increase sales as well as profits
and brand name in the long run. By time, and as the demand and brand were increasing I started to
increase the prices respectively. I had to advertise my products heavily because they were new

market demand, upon current and new competitors and their strategies as well as for new markets
and even new products and suppliers if they could offer better

Essay On Pro Life
Abortion is one the most controversial topics in the United States. The issue at hand is should
abortion be legal or not. It is highly debated with in both media and politics. According to
History Channel, Supreme Court legalizes abortion , in 1973 the U.S. Supreme Court Case Roe
V. Wade ruled that women have the constitutional right to privacy, thus legalizing abortion. This
law gave women the right to terminate a pregnancy during the first two trimesters. This sparked
huge controversy between pro life and pro choice believers. Both pro life and pro choice have
numerous arguments to justify their opinions. In a report done by WebMD, Abortion Reasons
Women Choose Abortion, nine out of ten abortions are performed within the first twelve weeks.
Abortion should be legal because it is a women s constitutional right, mental and physical health,
and other. Women have the right to choose what to do with their bodies and or self. The most
common phrase said is My Body, My Choice women have rights just like men do. We are
surrounded by rights. We all must make choices in our lives based on what we believe is safe and
best for ourselves at that time. Thus, women have that right to decide to have an abortion or not. A
common argument between pro life and pro choice believers is abortion considered murder.

The Human Relations Movement Of George Elton Mayo
Managers throughout history have been interested in studying ways to increase productivity. For
example, Frederick Taylor began the movement of scientific management in the 1880 s. Scientific
management looked to improve productivity through means of scientific analysis of worker s tasks
and work processes rather than the old rule of thumb (Taylor, 1914). Taylor believed that he could
maximize worker efficiency and productivity through focusing on workers specific hand motions
and patterns. After this period, beginning in about the 1930 s, managers looked to take productivity
to yet another level by studying worker physiology and motivation. This new movement came to be
known as the human relations movement. George Elton Mayo is credited with founding the
human relations movement. Mayo conducted an experiment in the 1920 s and 1930 s know as the
Hawthorne study. Two of the main aspects of the study centered around illumination in the work
place and varying levels of break time and work hours (Wickström, 2000). The illumination study
consisted of four different experiments over the course of three years. In each experiement, there
was a control group and a study group. In the varying studies, the researchers experimented with
varying levels of light and varying sequences of increasing and decreasing the level of light (
Hawthorne effect). Throughout the experiments, researchers would often find patterns of increased
productivity, leading them to believe that they had

National Park Service History
In the words of the iconic Ron Swanson, from the hit show series Parks and Recreation, the
national parks service is probably the only branch of government worth a damn. All thanks to the
work of several individuals, backed by an entire government, this national treasure will soon
celebrate its one hundredth birthday. The idea of the National Parks Service was first
conceptualized in 1872 when Congress established what is now Yellowstone National Parkas a
public park or pleasuring ground for the benefit and enjoyment of the people. under the Act of
March 1, 1872. The notion began years before with some of the first European settlers that were
captivated by the beauty and worked to protect it. Since then, the system has grown to include
natural, historic, and recreation areas in every region. However, it wasn t until August 25, 1916

Correlation Between Media Multitasking And The Differences...
Abstract
This article investigates the correlation between media multitasking and the differences of working
memory and long term memory in heavy media multitaskers and low media multitaskers. The data
was collected from one hundred forty three participants ranging in ages from 18 35. The study was
conducted from the Stanford University community. The researchers of this study explore the
possibilities of multitasking in relation to working and long term memory. The results showed that
there were four significant findings. A limitation of this study was that the correlation of student
academic outcome and media multitasking was used only by a correlation design study. Although,
this design suggests that a relationship exist between two variables, the study cannot prove that one
variable had a negative or positive effect change in another variable. Keywords: media multitasking

Essay about How Justified Were President Lincoln’s...
How Justified Were President Lincoln s Wartime Decisions?
In a time of war, it is necessary for the President to enforce limits on the power of individuals.
President Lincoln was entirely justified in limiting rights during the wartime situation to protect the
nation. It was also necessary for him to increase the size of the federal army in order for the North
to have any possibility of winning the war. Lincoln had to do all that he could to keep the Border
States, each of which the Union could not afford to lose. Setting limits on the rights of individuals
was unavoidable for President Lincoln, because Copperheads posed a significant threat to the Union.

C., would become enemy territory. If the line between the North and South shifted further north, the
Union would lose many people, jobs, and railroad lines. President Lincoln needed Kentucky
because it supplied much of the iron, gunpowder, and grain for the South. Slavery still existed in
the Border States, which could be used to lure the Confederate States back. Lincoln s priority was
to preserve the Union. Keeping Maryland, Missouri, Kentucky, Delaware, and West Virginia may
have made it possible.
It was entirely necessary for Lincoln to limit the rights of individuals. Northerners who
sympathized with the South, also called Copperheads , openly attacked President Lincoln and the
draft in newspapers, magazines, and their words. They often shipped goods to the South. Their
actions may have posed a threat to the Union and could have lead to the loss of Border States. To
prevent this, Lincoln arranged for supervised voting, and rightfully suspended Habeas Corpus and
free speech. Those who threatened the North by outwardly speaking against the Union could be
jailed immediately.
In order to protect the nation, President Lincoln was entirely justified in suspending rights during
the wartime situation. The North would have had no chance of victory over the Confederacy s
superior military had Lincoln not supported our small, inexperienced army. It was also crucial that
the President kept the slave holding Border States to be able to lure the

The High Price of Urban Sprawl Essay
Urban sprawl is a social pattern describing the way cities continue to grow outward
uncontrollably. People who do not want to live in an urban atmosphere often seek refuge in
suburban areas that have access to metropolitan areas. As more people follow this trend the
suburban areas slowly become developed and new areas must be sought for people to inhabit. This
leaves some city workers commuting in trains, cars, or even buses for hours. Urbansprawlis not the
luxury that it seems to be but actually a social pattern with a great deal of costs.

This means more traffic on highways, more people crowding on to trains and buses etc. Simple
economic principles enable us to see why commuting will get more and more expensive in the
future.
In terms of motor vehicles, first more space will be needed to accommodate more vehicles on the
road. The United States citizens are going to have to pay for larger highways if the government
decides more highways or larger highways are needed. Although more or larger highways might
seem plausible to cure a traffic problem, more money will be needed to maintain these highways.
This could very well mean either more tolls on highways or tolls that cost more money, raising the
price of the daily commute. Once these cars reach their destination they must have a place to be
parked. Car centric cities suffer from parking problems in places where there is already so much
money put towards building parking decks or lots. The Newspaper USA today has an article
called, Cars Drive Up the Costs of Urban Sprawl that states, In addition to eating up more human
time and motor fuel, car centric cities require greater expenditures on transportation and
infrastructure expenses that chip a way at a region s economic potential... auto dependent US cities

An Analysis Of Childs Of America
Aurora levins Morales s poem, Childs of America tackles the complex issue of social diversity in
the United States, a country made up of immigrants. Specially, it explores an American with a
family tree that reaches all around the world. Morales describes how the rich cultural diversity of
the American people are an important similarity with many other diverse nations.
In her opening paragraph, Aurora Levins Morales introduces the main idea of the poem: that she is
a multicultural immigrant and that America is the great country that it is today because of
immigrants. I am a child of the Americas, a light skinned mestiza of the Caribbean, a child of many
diaspora, born into this continent at a crossroad. I am a U.S. Puerto Rican Jew, a product of the
ghettos of a New York I have never known [...] (Morales 1174). She sees her herself as a Child of
Americas into a continent at a crossroad. And also sees herself as a combination of cultures. These
various influences are what America is the diverse nation that it is today.
Morales talks about Puerto Rican cultures by explaining what Caribbean people like to do: eat,
sing, how they have different ways to dance and enjoy different types of music. I am CaribeГ±a,
island grown. Spanish is in my flesh, ripples from my tongue, lodge in my lodge in my hips; the
language of garlic and mangoes, [...] (Morales 1174). She associates with those specific tastes and
her home culture. Food is an important element of cultural identity.

happy to open his arms to the Trojans, as he believed in a prophecy that stated that it was meant
to be that his daughter had to get married to a foreigner. It only made sense for the King to
welcome the Trojans, as by doing so he would increase the chances of the prophecy being
fulfilled. While this was the King s hopes plan s, his wife Amata wanted Lavania to marry the King
of Rutilians, Turnus who ruled an ethnic group in Italy. The conflict rose when King Latinus

Unraveling The Meaning Of `` Kill The Indian, Save The Man...
Unraveling the meaning of Kill the Indian, Save the Man
There are so many different definitions of the word racism, but how does each peron define it?
One individual, Richard Henry Pratt, clearly knew how to thoroughly define the word,
Segregating any class or race of people apart from the rest of the people kills the progress of the
segregated people or makes their growth very slow (Howard 2016). Unfortunately, we are still
living in the repercussion of Pratt s word. The United States history is full of examples that have led
to the ethnocentric development of the country. One of the most remote examples of this
ethnocentric belief is displayed with the construction of off reservation boarding schools for Native
Americans first started in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, by former general, Richard Henry Pratt. The
purpose of the schools was to strip Native Americans of their cultural traditions and teach them the
skills necessary to function in American Society. Pratt keyed this belief with the saying Kill the
Indian, save the man, in order to justify his reasons to assimilate the Indians to the white culture.
However, were the American Indians really forced to assimilate because society wanted to help
them, or because they wanted America to be solely made of true Americans with American culture?
How was the assimilation of the Indians satisfactory when it created cultural genocide? Having
assimilated the Indian man did not save him, it merely replaced him.

Argumentative Essay On Human Cloning
Human cloning is threatening our society. Yes it has benefits but with these benefits there s a
risk. First and foremost i disagree with cloning because, it hasn t developed yet and it can take a
lot of tries before getting a human being to this earth. On the other hand, animals have been cloned
since the beginning of this technology. They have a 70% chance of being born safely but that is
not the same for humans the percentage to clone a human is 20% to 40% which is not even past
birth. There has been a lot of failure on cloningbut maybe one day it will be perfected. But over
the years cloning has increased at a more stable rate. This new cloning technology can really
wrong because, you re basically make a robot just in a human form factor. One good thing about
cloning is that they can clone certain organ cells and damaged tissue. But to do something like
that it s 50,000 dollars which only certain people can afford. That s why is not extremely
common to hear someone say that they have cloned a tissue or an organ. However cloning is not
cheap it s expensive but is it worth it? Favorably, it all depends on what you would like to clone
and does it have a value to your day to day life. Supposing that you want to clone your dog or cat
the estimated price is from 25,000 thousand dollars and it can reach higher pricing. People who
have the money to do these sort of things must have been with that pet for a long time and that
pet means a lot to them. However when you re cloning a pet yes they are going to have the same
characteristics as the one who passed away. Although it won t feel the same as having your
original pet. In my opinion people are doing this because it s an outlet for them to forget how their
pet and pretend like it s still there with them. Part of these people don t even think on what they are
doing because they are so inlove with their animals. They should really think about cloning pets and
them make a decision. But if it means a lot to them then they should do it at there own risk. Know
in an article named What happened to cloning? They are stating that back in the 2000 s they
thought of banning cloning but politicians could not agree at what stage of development cloning

Prompt 3: The central conflict of the book Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides is gender identity which
is shown through Calliope s struggle with determining and accepting her true gender as a
hermaphrodite. The conflict also affects other characters as it causes grief, confusion, and leads to.
Calliope s first encounter with her gender identity crisis was when she develops feelings and
sexual attraction to the Object which is stated in Jerome knew what I was, as suddenly I did,
too, for the first time clearly understood that I wasn t a girl but something in between. I knew this
from how natural it had felt to enter Rex Reese s body, how right it felt, and I knew this from the
shocked expression on Jerome s face (375). The experience of having intercourse with Jerome
and fantasizing being in Rex s position shows that Calliope isn t just a female but something in
between and that adds more to her suspicion and confusion of her actual gender. This also affects
other characters as it leads up to Calliope having a sexual relationship with the Object which
reveals the Object s true feelings towards Calliope and her actual sexuality. She also has another
encounter with her gender identity when she discovers that she s biologically a boy who had
been raised as a girl. In the file by Dr. Luce, it describes Calliope s condition with the description

Medea, By Euripides The Catcher Of The Myth Of Jason And...
Playwright, Euripides, composes the tragedy, Medea, on the bases of the myth of Jason and
Medea in around 400 BC. Medea portrays the position of women within that time period in Greek
culture. The Greeks did not see women as equal citizens within the time period of Medea s
composition. The Greek culture considered women as submissive servants, whom did not have a
place in politics. Women in that period of history were greatly dependent of their husbands. The
author, Euripides, capitalizes on this social inequality through his characters. Medeaexpresses this
inequality by saying, It is a bitter thing to be a woman. (Act I, 226) She then compares both
genders using analogies within her expression of rage. Medea, the protagonist and focal character
within the play, struggles with her sanity as a result of her husband, Jasons many betrayals.
Focusing on her ultimate goal, Jason s demise, she vows to get revenge on all of those who are
the cause of her to suffer great emotional pain. Death is my wish, For myself, my enemies, my

the manipulation, betrayal, and other sufferings inflicted by her own husband, Medea invokes her
revenge, which in the end deprives Medea of her home, sanity, and children.
The tragedy begins with Medea mourning aloud her laments of self pity. She is easily replaced by

into all sorts of trouble unless you re monitoring BP continuously.
I ve heard lately that there s a trend towards using fewer a lines it seems silly (and painful) to
have your patient get stuck what seems like twelve times in a shift for labs and ABGs. Remember
that it s always been our unit s policy for nurses to send ABGs after every vent change, or for any
clinical change that the patient makes.
Update this has changed a little: ABGs probably don t seem to be necessary for vent changes that
are only going to affect oxygenation: changes in FiO2 or PEEP, since the O2 sat will keep you

Antigone, Star Wars, and the Good Life
Sophocles s play Antigone promotes a good life that, through careful analysis, is very similar to
the Stoic theory of the good life. Antigone is a story about the members of the ancient Theban
aristocracy vying for control of themselves and others; however, in its core it contains an
exploration of the good life, that is trying to investigate what values will allow one to get what
they want out of life. A group of philosophers, also of Greek origin, produced a theory of this
topic; this group of thinkers is called the Stoics. Concerning the good life they had two main
values, from which they believe a good life can originate. The first of the two is finding
happiness from inner resources, or trying not to depend on things around you such as wealth or
adventure to give you a sense of happiness. The second facet is that of not worrying about things
that are out of your control, as there is no use. Antigone brings to stage these topics, and shows
characters who either live according to them, and exit with a good life, and others who deny
these, and end the play living in a bad life. Therefore the play shows through example, that Stoic
values will lead to a positive way of living, and living against the values will lead to you not
getting everything out of life. The two main characters in this tragedy are Creon, the king of
Thebes, and uncle of the other character Antigone, the daughter of the last king of the same city
Thebes. Creon does not live according to the values of

Constructing and Reconstructing Essay
1.Woody Holton reveals the motives of the Founding Fathers depend widely on individual
judgment of the terms under the Articles of Confederation. Holton claims that historians
excessively rely on sources by the Federalist which reveals a prejudiced Federalist view (Hollitz,
110). Woody Holton uses the writings of James Madisonand Alexander Hamiltonto expose the
Founding Fathers deeper motives in writing the Constitution. The Founding Fathers were frustrated
because state legislatures had been given in to popular demands to reduce taxes and increase the
money supply (for relief from the recession). While citizens were behind on their taxes; states were
unable to pay interest on bonds, which crippled the government operations... Show more content on

The Federalist Paper No. 10 argues that a republic is capable of controlling the effects of faction,
more than a democracy. The reason is that a system of representation is more capable of
protecting the rights of the individuals, as well as being able to balance the needs of the public
good. James Madison views many advantages of a republic over a pure democracy. A republic,
Madison writes, is different from a democracy because its government is placed in the hands of
delegates, and as a result of this, it can be extended over a larger area. The idea is that in a large
republic there will be more fit characters to choose from for each delegate (Hollitz, 106). The
chosen elites as representatives of the people will be more helpful to the public good than by
the people themselves. Also, the fact that each representative is chosen from a larger number of
citizens should make the vicious arts (Hollitz, 107). For instance, in a larger republic a corrupt
delegate would need to bribe many more people in order to win an election than in a small
republic, making it more difficult for unworthy candidates. Second, the same advantage which a
republic has over a pure democracy in controlling the effects of faction by a larger over a small
republic (Hollitz, 107). Madison explains the failure of democracy for not understanding the need
of the public good. Another flaw that Madison identifies in a democracy is that it allows
individuals to be their own

Karrie J. Koesel s Religious Freedom And Restriction In China
Mahatma Gandhi once said, Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to
make mistakes. If this were true, freedom would lose its importance. It must be remembered,
freedom s importance comes from its virtue, because true freedom and virtue go hand in hand.
When people do whatever they want without consequences, it takes away from the rights of others
Americans, therefore, losing its virtue and importance. If individuals were free to make wrong
decisions, how much people would really be free? True freedom derives from the virtues and
morals of America, which is the reason why it is important to every American. True freedom is
important because of its morals, protections, religious freedom, universality, and strong work...

In 1963, thirty fifth President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, made this point in his speech,
Address on Civil Rights , to address a situation of two black boys who needed guards to protect
them in their University. Kennedy s main point was that the discrimination on African
Americans was no longer a political issue but a moral one. In light of this, he called for
Americans to think over the incident and explained that all men are created equal and should be
free. In addition, the author goes on to say that all Americans, even those of color, should enjoy
the same rights as any American and be treated just as fair. Furthermore, the African American
was not given the same rights or treatment; they were not free. He calls upon the issue in a moral
light and claims that the nation will not be fully free until all its citizens are free (Kennedy). To
explain, his point was that they cannot call this nation the land of the free if they excluded
people based on skin color. Given these points, Kennedy called for action to make the country a
place of equal freedom, as well as point out all he had done to desegregate. He concluded by
asking for the support of every citizen in making the country a place of freedom for everyone.
Americans can see the change in freedom, from what is was then to what it is now. When Kennedy
made this speech, America did not quite have true freedom. It lacked universality. One

There is one part in the movie that really made this movie one of the most impactful movies I have
ever seen. He made a poem and presented it to his psychiatrist. It read:
Who will cry for the little boy lost and all alone
Who will cry for the little boy abandoned without his own
Who will cry for the little boy he cried himself to sleep
Who will cry for the little boy who never had for keeps
Who will cry for the little boy who walked a burning sand
Who will cry for the little boy the boy inside the man
Who will cry for the little boy who knew well hurt and pain
Who will cry for the little boy who died and died again
Who will cry for the little boy a good boy he tried to be
Who will cry for the little boy who cries inside of me
This poem has a true meaning behind it. The meaning of it is of Antwone when he was little. He
would cry himself to sleep. He would get beaten over an over again. It just kept building up and
finally he cried for help on the inside. Luckily he got help from his psychiatrist before it was too
late. The last quote from the movie that made it such an impactful movie was, You are the champ,
you have beaten everyone who has beaten you In the end I think that Antwone Fisher is the most
impacting movie someone will ever see. Throughout

Sports Programs At The Youth And High School Game Level
Concussion in Athletes
Every athlete is affected in some way by the potential risk of a concussion during practice or in a
game from youth leagues up to the professional level of play. My writing will focus equally on
concussions in football athletes at all levels. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC), has created training courses for coaches and athletic administrators. These training
programs assist in the awareness and preparedness of what actions to take should concussions
occur during practices or on game day. The courses demonstrate how to use the return to play rules
to keep the athletes from more serious injury. Because many are attracted to sport programs at a
young age, prevention is the primary focus at the youth and high school game level. Educating
young athletes is the most effective way to reduce concussions in any sport.
CDC and USA Football has partnered with football leagues to ensure that this educational skill set
on blocking and tackling is taught to every player. For this purpose, the athlete should retain the
knowledge and information to extend from youth training to college/university, then to the
professional play in the National Football League (NFL), or the American Football League (AFL).
The athlete will have learned these life saving concepts. Also, they will be more teachable at a
higher level in Heads Up Concussion training and testing. This is why coaching and training are
the best approaches to reducing concussion in

The Overall Growth And Development Of C.p
Introduction C.P. is a 14 year old male that this nursing student saw on January 19, 2016 who was
admitted to Renown Health s pediatric floor to determine the cause of his cyclical vomiting. C.P.
has a secondary diagnoses of autism spectrum disorder. In this paper, I will discuss the overall
growth and development of C.P. based on four developmental theorists and other children in his age
range.
Overview of Growth and Development Growth generally refers to an increase in the physical
size of a whole or any of its parts or an increase in the number and size of cell. Development is
generally considered to be a continuous, orderly series of conditions leading to activities, new
motives for activities, and patterns of behavior (James, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
51). C.P. is fourteen years old, he is categorized in the adolescence stage and age grouping.
Parameters of growth provide information on how the child should normally grow. Data in the
determination of normal includes weight, height, and head circumference. It is suggested that these
should be measured at regular intervals throughout childhood to ensure the child is on track for
normal growth (James, et al, 2013, p. 51).
Factors influencing growth and development include genetics, environment, culture, nutrition,
health status, and family. Each factor contains information as to how the child s growth and
development can be affected (James, et al, 2013, pp. 52 54).
Developmental Theorists and Theories Freud s stages of psychosexual development. Freud believed
that early childhood experiences provide unconscious motivation for actions later in life (Freud,
1960). The basis of Freud s psychosexual theory is certain parts of the body assume
psychological significance as the focus of sexual energy throughout the development of the child
(James, et al, 2013, p. 57). Freud s work may help to explain normal behavior that parents may
confuse with abnormal behavior, and it also may provide a good foundation for sex education
(James, et al, 2013, p. 57). The stages of this theory include oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital

Mrs Helenne Alving And Ghosts
Plenty published by David Hare in 1978 and Ghosts published by Henrik Ibsen in 1881, might
have almost a gap of hundred years in publication, but they are both plays that attest the
intertemporal issue of society s pressure on the woman. In the notes of A Doll s house, in 1878,
Ibsen writes A woman cannot be herself in contemporary society, it is an exclusively male society
with laws drafted by men, and with counsel and judges who judge feminine conduct from the male
point of view. The femaleprotagonist in Ghosts, Mrs Helene Alving, has been influenced by the
society s need of forming womenthat are first, obedient daughters, then, obedient wives, dutiful
mothers, but in general, obedient individuals of that society s ideals, conventions and traditions. In
Plenty, the audience gets to examine years of Susan Traherne s life, from her World War II
activity as a courier in the French Renaissance to her emotional privation in the post Suez British
plenty . Even after the war, Susan cannot sustain a fulfilling life since the society s ideals and
conventions disharmonize with her own opinions and purpose. The common element between Mrs
Alving and Susan is that as women they are expected to fit into a certain role in the real life,
directed by the society itself, a life that diminishes their personal fulfilment.
To begin with, Ghosts is a play that does not solely examine the society s pressure on the women,
but the impact of society on every individual regardless of gender.

Bandura (1977) Social Learning Theory: Albert Bandura s Social Learning Theory believes that
learning occurs in a social context through observation, imitation, and direct instruction. It
comprises of attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation.*Attention *Retention
*Reproduction *Motivation*Attention this implies that to accurately learn by observation, a
person must pay attention to the person doing the modeling and should steer away from any
possible distraction. *Retention this is a poignant part of the social learning process as the
behavior may have been observed, but it is not always remembered which thus prevents imitation
or mimicry (McLeod, 2006). *Reproduction this is the process where the student practices the
recently learned behavior, and it is majorly dependent on the physical capabilities of the observer to
reproduce the behavior. *Motivation a person has to value the benefit of continuously performing
the action. Therefore, this development is often driven by positive reinforcement for demonstrating
the behavior correctly or punishment for applying the behavior inappropriately (Sincero, 2011).
Bandura s Social Learning Theory has been used to understand the behavior of children in a social
setting. For example, a new student who observes how his/her peers

that there would be six players on each side that would rotate around the court throughout the

officials declared that a team could only hit the ball three times before sending it to the other

The Helsinki Act of 1975 was one of the major accomplishments for the Brezhnev administration.
The signing of the act would consolidate a dГ©tente era between the USSR, its satellites and the

In the USSR s view the term dissident represents a cunning propaganda maneuver, intended to

chaos among the men in Julius Caesar. Next, Mark Antony s betrayal towards the Senate boosts
the illogicality up to a whole new level. Lastly, the betrayal within the main characters conclusively
ends most of the chaos and the play. Now that the structure for how betrayal is tied to the
characters is laid out, now it s time to state how all that can tie... Show more content on

First, once Cassius kills himself, the men begin to grieve. When Cassius commits suicide, which
is his betrayal to himself, the men begin to settle their tomfoolery. Due to the men s betrayal to
one another during their war, this leads to a misunderstanding, which ultimately led to Cassius
death. Second, once Portia commits suicide, this eases Brutus motivation for betrayal because of
his wife s death. Even if Brutus brushes off her death, it really was one of the assets that drove
him off the deep end. Portia s death goes hand in hand with Brutus which ultimately ended the
men acting so absurd. Lastly, due to Brutus suicide, this ends all the absurdity amongst the men.
Once Brutus runs on his sword this sets the final peace, mainly because there is no one else to
betray. This example clearly states how betrayal leads to complete chaos, once there is no one else
to betray there s finally peace. In conclusion, the betrayal that had happened amongst the men and
Romans (suicide) in the play was what conclusively ended most of the chaos. With self betrayal
being represented with suicide, after a good amount of characters commit suicide, there isn t anyone
else to betray. So this ultimately ends the

How Does Maggie Vandermeer Use Social Media
Maggie Vandermeer dwells in a contemporary society where proficiency in regards to social
media is a rather dominant feature, especially in her search for a job and as an attempt to
conform. As Maggie is not familiar with such social media s, especially in comparison to the
younger generation, this renders Maggie somewhat of a misfit and continues her path of
solitude, as she has no friends or a job. Although Maggie routinely uses her cell phone to text or
tweet, she has not yet integrated herself to this contemporary society, as the younger generation
is remarkably adept with social media. Moreover, Maggie isn t conversant with the proper
norms that belong to social media. For example, at the beginning of the story, Maggie is woken
up by her daughter, Lacey Vandermeer, who sends her a text at 1:27 AM. Next, she begins to
Twitter stalk Lacey s page until she discovers Lacey s presumed lover named Dane Davis, and
begins to stalk him as well. Maggie also seems to prefer face to face interactions, rather than
communication with some sort of social media. This preference differentiates her from the younger
generation, as they tend to prefer communicating through social media. For example, When Lacey
suggests how she does not need to come over, Maggie insists on the value of face to face
interaction. The point was to have a visit with you, Maggie says (Cullen, 36). When Maggie attends
her job interviews, the interviewers, who are of that younger generation, stress the

Essay about The Notorious Al Capone
The popular image of the 1920s is of an alcohol soaked, jazz enriched, and senseless society that
was full of crime. Morally minded citizens tried to solve the growing problem of drunkenness by
pushing their efforts to end this behavior. This crusade gained steam in 1920 when the US
outlawed the manufacture and sale of liquor which was amended into the Constitution. What was
supposed to end this wild behavior of mindless drinking and crime spawned new economic
problems and gang wars in major cities around America. What was known as the prohibition era
entrenched a network of organized crime with some of the most notorious minds and of these
included the most well known, Al Capone. Capone began to take over the Chicagoarea in 1925 as a

He then followed with saying, who doesn t, in this case he was honest because most of the
American citizens were also violating these drinking laws by going to, speakeasies, (Bootleg:
Murder, Moonshine, and the Lawless Years of Prohibition, pg 92). These underground or
hidden buildings would be the major source of income for Capone during the years of
prohibition. Politicians, law enforcement and regular citizens would visit these establishments to
grab a drink then the next day fight for enforcement of prohibition. The corrupt enforcement of
these laws extended the longevity of this era and rose the power of Capone and his accomplices.
Capone was already rising in power in the 1920s but the 18th amendment fueled rise of violence
in Capone like yeast in bread. Knowing that law enforcement would crackdown on his illegal
business, he made sure local, state and federal officials were on his payroll to look the other
way. He virtually paid off every official in the districts where his breweries were set up. This
granted him and his breweries legal immunity. By bribing the crooked law enforcement in his
area, he could plan raids to destroy other rival gang s illegal establishments. Federal agents who
did not take bribes and continued to enforce the law were prevented by locals who tipped off
gangsters. Every year, Capone paid officials a hulking 15 million dollars but this money did

Becoming A Graduate Education For Engineering
As rightly said by Nikola Tesla, We crave for new sensations but soon become indifferent to
them. The wonders of yesterday are today common occurrences . The sweeping changes in the
Technological world with the advent of Electronics have made the role of electrical and
electronics engineering a really indispensable one. My fascination for engineering was from an
early stage though not a conscious one. It has been my deepest desire to be a part of this
proliferating community. While my Bachelor s degree has given me a well rounded strong
fundamental platform and exposure in the Electrical and Electronics field, I am keen to pursue
Graduate education to advance my knowledge as well as contribute to specific areas in Electronics
and advancements in technology. I thereby seek to pursue graduate studies in Electrical Engineering
at University of Texas at Dallas.
I use this opportunity to elucidate my career objectives and give in quintessence of my educational
background. Since my school days, I have been interested in mathematics and physical sciences.
My scholastic record has been meritorious right through school and higher secondary education. I
did my schooling from Sarathi School, where I achieved a rare feat of scoring full marks in
Mathematics and secured 88.8%. With my propensity towards mathematics and physics, I chose
Mathematics Physics Chemistry as my group for post secondary education, wherefrom I secured an
impressive 94.7%. This performance helped me in getting

Analysis Of The Story Going Back Home
As people journey through life, they discover many qualities they hold that make them unique and
interesting. These qualities differentiate them from others, and help form their identity. In the
stories we have read in class, such as Going Back Home , written by Toyomi Igus and Michele
Wood, Nei Um Lung, Ma? by May Yee, and The Jade Peony by Wayson Choy, the characters
hobbies, beliefs, and familyroots make them unique and interesting. Due to many factors, including
different experiences in life, an individual develops many aspects in their identity that are different
from others.
Hobbies, which are adopted and changed throughout one s life, express who an individual is.
There are many different reasons as to why people adopt hobbies. It may be a way to pass the
time, to express their likes and dislikes, or a way for them to channel their emotions. In the story
Going Back Home , the narrator explains how the painter, Michelle Wood, expressed her life and
her ancestors lives through her art. She created self portraits to show different aspects of her life,
her grandparents lives, and a blue musician s life, utilizing the colours, patterns, and objects to
depict their hardships, culture, and opportunities. The house and fence represent the foundations of
my past. The boards are my life lessons the crooked ones are the tragedies and the hardships. I am

A Shopper s Drug Mart Queuing System
The topic of this report is an analysis of a Shopper s Drug Mart queuing system. At Shoppers
Drug Mart, there are multiple places where queues are formed; regular check out line, beauty
check out line, at the pharmacy and at the post office. For this analysis, we only looked at the two
different check out lines, the set of regular servers near the front of the store and also the check out
line for the beauty department. At this location, we noticed there were only two cashiers (servers)
handling all the transactions for the regular check out line at the timewe went. There was only one
cashier (server) at the beauty department handling all the transactions done for beauty products.

How the data was collected was using a stopwatch at 00:00 (zero minutes and zero seconds). The
stopwatch began and we waited for the first customer to arrive. The first customer arrived 00:36 or
36 seconds after the stopwatch began to run, hence that is their inter arrival time. Customer 1
departed at 1:18 from when the stopwatch ran. By taking the difference between the departure clock
time and arrival clock time, service time was calculated. This was done for all 15 customers.
Arrival times and departure timesare in clock time because we observed their arrivals and
departures by viewing a stopwatch. The final clock time noted is 11:36 (so 11 minutes and 36
seconds from when the clock first began) and that is the same time the final customer (customer 15)
departed.
After observing and collecting data regarding the regular check out line, many values were
calculated, including; average arrival rate, average service rate, average expected number of
customers in the system, average expected number of customers in a queue, average expected
number of customers in service, average expected time a customer spends in the system, average
expected time a customer spends waiting in the queue and the average expected time a customer
spends being serviced. Because the regular check out line had 2 servers, the queuing model utilized
was M/M/2/GD/в€

Description Of My First Concert
First Concert Going to Pittsburgh and my first concert was by far the most enjoyable event in
my life. I had never been to a concert before. I heard about concert trips from my friends, and
everything they said about going to a concert was true, from the positive feelings to having a
hoarse throat. Having that hoarse throat may sound weird, but it shows that the participant sang
all night. It sounded like somebody rubbed sandpaper on their vocal cords. I will never regret
that small and irritating pain in my throat, though, because it was worth it. If anyone ever goes
to a concert with friends, the trip will be one of the greatest points of their lives. The beginning
of this whole event started back near the middle of April. I was on my phone, and I saw there
was a Chance The Rapper tour. Three of my close friends, David, Gage, and Gracie, also enjoy
Chance The Rapper music. There was a concert date in Pittsburgh; therefore, I told my friends
we should go, and they agreed. I said we should do it on May 20 because it was two days after
summer break started. My friend David bought tickets for all of us and his dad because he had
to supervise us, for the PPG Paints Arena at Pittsburgh. The next day we saw him and we repaid
him. I was ecstatic because I was going to see my favorite rapper and attend my first concert. It
started off with Gracie, David, and Gage and me going but then after two weeks Gracie could not
go so we had a slight problem. She could not go because there

times a family is forced to overcome. Two very important women in the Walls family s life impact

weird route of doing so. He picks Jeannette up and throws her in the deep part of the water and
says, Sink or swim! (pg. 66) The way Erma raised Rex is also a big factor in why he isn t very
self sufficient. Grandma Smith also influenced Rose Mary in a negative way but also in a

Understanding The New Kingdom Of Egypt
Understanding the New Kingdom of Egypt
Perhaps no other culture has intrigued the human imagination as that of ancient Egypt. From the
Ancient Greeks, who treated Egypt with venerable respect, to Alexander the Great, and Napoleon,
who felt it was imperative to go there, few other cultures have represented so much of universal
value to all humans. The purpose of this paper is to present a brief survey of the ancient New
Kingdom of Egypt. An emphasis on scholarly views will focus on culture, agriculture, Nubian
Pharaohs, religion, and war. Of particular interest is the manner in which this historical knowledge
is repeatedly made relevant in today s world.
Culture
Spanning approximately 1550 to 1070 BCE, the New Kingdom of Egypt represents a golden age,
one which was almost the opposite of the Middle Kingdom of Egypt in terms of its
accomplishments. Some of the most prestigious names of ancient Egypt come from this period, such
as Hatsetshup, the female pharaoh, Thutmose III, Ramses II, the last warrior pharaoh of the New
Kingdom, King Akhenaten, the sun worshipper, his beloved wife Nefertiti, and Tutankhamun, the
much celebrated boy king.
There is no probable way to estimate the amount of highly valued art and artifacts that have been
discovered and taken out of Egypt. Whether by contract, government arrangement or smuggling, the
allure of Egyptian art and culture has mesmerized every other culture that beheld it. Only the size of
the pyramids themselves, or the New Kingdom

Michelle Obama Hillary Clinton
Given the closing in 2016 presidential election, both candidates have been working hard to
convince the citizens of the United States that they are the optimal decision for President. Both,
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have been in constant turmoil in creating promotional
advertisements and speeches as to why they should be chosen to lead the country. Hillary Clinton,
a long time politician and Secretary of State, who received the unequivocal backing of the current
President of the United States and the First Lady. Subsequently, the First Lady gave a speech about
Hillary Clinton advocating her full support. First Lady Michelle Obamautilizes pathos and allusions

The First Lady implements allusion to accordingly compare Secretary Clinton to great leaders
from the past. She achieves this goal, by emphasizing that she wants a leader who truly believes
in the vision that our Founders put forth all those years ago. . . (Obama 22). Michelle Obamas
allusion to the Founding Fathers and their ideals help to establish a connection between Clinton
and the leaders that forged the nation. Including this comparison helps to guide the audience to
collate their knowledge of the Founding Fathers and apply it to Hillary Clinton. This citation
becomes particularly significant when the First Lady uses people that are so highly respected,
such as the Founding Fathers, to compare to Secretary Clinton. As a result, Michelle Obama is
able to successfully enhance the image of Hillary Clinton in the eyes of her audience.
Nevertheless, Michelle Obama also uses allusions to downgrade the image of Clintons
opponent, Donald Trump. The First lady explains how we should never . . .let anyone ever tell
you that this country isn t great, that somehow we need to make it great again (Obama 29).
Michelle Obama ameliorates Clintons image, by alluding to a negative persona of her rival. The
First Lady utilizes Donald Trump s campaign slogan to institute that America is already great
within itself, and the nation does not need Trump to make it great again . This tactic supports
Michelle Obamas claim by altering the audiences view point of Donald Trump and his slogan.
The audience will now perceive Trump as someone who does not believe that America is or could
be great , without him. Therefore, the First Lady accurately alludes to Clintons rival in a
demeaning manner to boost Clintons own image. Michelle Obamas use of allusion aids in
modifying the persona of both candidates to

В…the security of one is the concern of allВ… and this is where collective responsibility comes
in, in which aggression by one state would be countered by collective action by the other state,
embodied in a league of nations.
The League of Nations illustrated the importance the theory have placed on international
institutions to deal with war and the chance for collective problem solving in a many sided forum
(Mingst,2004:63).
Where we could see the weakness of this theory was when the Liberals is seen to have failed to
make the world safe for democracy as President Woodrow Wilson, who authored the covenant of the
League of Nations, claimed it could during WW1, even when its doctrine were institutionalized into
international organizations like the League of Nations and later the United Nations. Mingst also
added that the League of Nations proved incompetent of maintaining collective security and many
questions of the basic goodness of humanity came up, leaving liberalism under intense scrutiny.
These questions made liberalism as a theoretical perspective fall out of favour.
Realism
This theory believes people to be sinful and wicked by nature and man s aggressive power seeking
and lustful nature has implications on the state. Individual in states are organised to act in a unitary
way in pursuit of its own national interest in terms of power (Mingst, 2004:65). Mingst also wrote

The Contract For Sale Of Land
The front page of the 2005 edition of the Contract for the Sale of Land (Standard Contract) deals
with whether or not vacant possession will be provided on settlement. The Contract is either
marked vacant possession or subject to existing tenancy . If no box is marked, then vacant
possession is the default choice. Clause 17.1 of the Standard Contract provides that normally, the
vendor must give the purchaser vacant possessionof the property on completion. There are a few

The judge considered vacant possession includes the right to actual unimpeded physical enjoyment.
Not any physical impediment will amount to breach the vacant possession, but it must be an
impediment which substantially prevents or interferes with the enjoyment of the right of
possession of a substantial part of the property.
By contrast, in Lori Ann Nelson v Lynette Marie Bellamy, certain items were remaining on the land
at completion date, the purchaser rescinded the contract by reason of the fact that there was a
significant amount of rubbish and builder s debris on the property. The court held that the items
were present on the property at completion were not substantial, because such items did not impinge
at all on the living areas, including the courtyard, and did not substantially prevent use of the
undercroft or the side alleys which did not constitute a substantial part of the property.
Similarly leaving furniture, or a large amount of vendor s chattel have been held as breaches of a
vendor s obligation to give physical vacant possession of the property.
1.1Are the parties able and willing to settle?
In Austral Standard Cables Pty Ltd v Walker, the court found that if the purchaser had not stated
that they would not complete due to financial difficultly prior to the settlement, the vendor would
be ready, able and willing to complete. Therefore the vendor s failure to

Hades: King of the Underworld
Around 1100 BC Greek and Roman people began telling myths and stories about Heroes and gods
/goddesses. This was the beginning of Greek Mythology. At first people were told stories about
Heroes and Gods so that they would have someone to believe in and worship. Then Greek
Mythology became a way of teaching lessons to everyone and explaining natural phenomena. One
of the gods that was created out of these myths was Hades. Hades has been called the King of the
Underworld and the Greek God of the Dead. Hades was a very interesting god that, unlike other
gods of the time, was not worshipped but rather feared.

Literary Analysis Of Revelation By Flannery OConnor
Revelation
Among many diseases, judgment is an epidemic virus within the human mind; more dangerously
with the lack of discernment can create a toxic atmosphere and such intoxication is highlighted
within the short story, Revelation, by Flannery O Connor. The story is set in the south, and
revolves around an irrational yet religious character, name Mrs. Turpin, who overlooks her own
flaws to cast judgments on others. The author uses language, irony, and archetypes within the story
to present that judgement is a form of unconscious self deception that causes hypocritical behavior
and ultimately self agitation. The author demonstrates this by having the characters cast judgment
upon each other, which makes the act of passing judgment on to others an infectious disease fed by
society.
The usage of informal language in the beginning of the story, produces transparent characters by
exposing their flaws through their speech. Opening with the reckless announcement addressed
by Mrs.Turpin, I wish I could reduce (3). in front of strangers had marked her hasty character.
This early exposure of her flaw notes the tragedy of her character for being quick to speak, quick
to conclude and quick to judge. As Mrs.Turpin begins to build judgment upon others from Girl
Scout Shoes to bedroom slippers as she expects (5) Mrs.Turpin becomes a false believer,
drowning within her own deceptive conclusion by gripping onto her theory of goodness being
carried by people s shoes. Ultimately,

  • 4. The Human Relations Movement Of George Elton Mayo Managers throughout history have been interested in studying ways to increase productivity. For example, Frederick Taylor began the movement of scientific management in the 1880 s. Scientific management looked to improve productivity through means of scientific analysis of worker s tasks and work processes rather than the old rule of thumb (Taylor, 1914). Taylor believed that he could maximize worker efficiency and productivity through focusing on workers specific hand motions and patterns. After this period, beginning in about the 1930 s, managers looked to take productivity to yet another level by studying worker physiology and motivation. This new movement came to be known as the human relations movement. George Elton Mayo is credited with founding the human relations movement. Mayo conducted an experiment in the 1920 s and 1930 s know as the Hawthorne study. Two of the main aspects of the study centered around illumination in the work place and varying levels of break time and work hours (WickstrГ¶m, 2000). The illumination study consisted of four different experiments over the course of three years. In each experiement, there was a control group and a study group. In the varying studies, the researchers experimented with varying levels of light and varying sequences of increasing and decreasing the level of light ( Hawthorne effect). Throughout the experiments, researchers would often find patterns of increased productivity, leading them to believe that they had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All thanks to the work of several individuals, backed by an entire government, this national treasure will soon celebrate its one hundredth birthday. The idea of the National Parks Service was first conceptualized in 1872 when Congress established what is now Yellowstone National Parkas a public park or pleasuring ground for the benefit and enjoyment of the people. under the Act of March 1, 1872. The notion began years before with some of the first European settlers that were captivated by the beauty and worked to protect it. Since then, the system has grown to include natural, historic, and recreation areas in every region. What does the manner of his death indicate about Turnus and what does it show about Aeneas? Is Turnus a hero or a victim? The Aeneidby Virgilis a classic poem that describes the way the Trojans survived after the Greeks invaded and destroyed their hometown, Troy. The Poem explains the Trojans movements and how they found the city of Rome that was ruled by King Latinus at the time. The King at the time was happy to open his arms to the Trojans, as he believed in a prophecy that stated that it was meant to be that his daughter had to get married to a foreigner. It only made sense for the King to welcome the Trojans, as by doing so he would increase the chances of the prophecy being fulfilled. Unraveling the meaning of Kill the Indian, Save the Man There are so many different definitions of the word racism, but how does each peron define it? One individual, Richard Henry Pratt, clearly knew how to thoroughly define the word, Segregating any class or race of people apart from the rest of the people kills the progress of the segregated people or makes their growth very slow (Howard 2016). Unfortunately, we are still living in the repercussion of Pratt s word. The United States history is full of examples that have led to the ethnocentric development of the country. One of the most remote examples of this ethnocentric belief is displayed with the construction of off reservation boarding schools for Native Americans first started in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, by former general, Richard Henry Pratt. The purpose of the schools was to strip Native Americans of their cultural traditions and teach them the skills necessary to function in American Society. Pratt keyed this belief with the saying Kill the Indian, save the man, in order to justify his reasons to assimilate the Indians to the white culture. However, were the American Indians really forced to assimilate because society wanted to help them, or because they wanted America to be solely made of true Americans with American culture? How was the assimilation of the Indians satisfactory when it created cultural genocide? Having assimilated the Indian man did not save him, it merely replaced him. There is a ... • 17. Argumentative Essay On Human Cloning Human cloning is threatening our society. Yes it has benefits but with these benefits there s a risk. First and foremost i disagree with cloning because, it hasn t developed yet and it can take a lot of tries before getting a human being to this earth. On the other hand, animals have been cloned since the beginning of this technology. They have a 70% chance of being born safely but that is not the same for humans the percentage to clone a human is 20% to 40% which is not even past birth. There has been a lot of failure on cloningbut maybe one day it will be perfected. But over the years cloning has increased at a more stable rate. This new cloning technology can really wrong because, you re basically make a robot just in a human form factor. One good thing about cloning is that they can clone certain organ cells and damaged tissue. But to do something like that it s 50,000 dollars which only certain people can afford. That s why is not extremely common to hear someone say that they have cloned a tissue or an organ. However cloning is not cheap it s expensive but is it worth it? Favorably, it all depends on what you would like to clone and does it have a value to your day to day life. Supposing that you want to clone your dog or cat the estimated price is from 25,000 thousand dollars and it can reach higher pricing. People who have the money to do these sort of things must have been with that pet for a long time and that pet means a lot to them. However when you re cloning a pet yes they are going to have the same characteristics as the one who passed away. Although it won t feel the same as having your original pet. In my opinion people are doing this because it s an outlet for them to forget how their pet and pretend like it s still there with them. Part of these people don t even think on what they are doing because they are so inlove with their animals. They should really think about cloning pets and them make a decision. But if it means a lot to them then they should do it at there own risk. Know in an article named What happened to cloning? Calliope s first encounter with her gender identity crisis was when she develops feelings and sexual attraction to the Object which is stated in Jerome knew what I was, as suddenly I did, too, for the first time clearly understood that I wasn t a girl but something in between. I knew this from how natural it had felt to enter Rex Reese s body, how right it felt, and I knew this from the shocked expression on Jerome s face (375). The experience of having intercourse with Jerome and fantasizing being in Rex s position shows that Calliope isn t just a female but something in between and that adds more to her suspicion and confusion of her actual gender. This also affects other characters as it leads up to Calliope having a sexual relationship with the Object which reveals the Object s true feelings towards Calliope and her actual sexuality. She also has another encounter with her gender identity when she discovers that she s biologically a boy who had been raised as a girl. In the file by Dr. Luce, it describes Calliope s condition with the description As the girl s gender identity was firmly established as female at that time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. Medea, By Euripides The Catcher Of The Myth Of Jason And... Playwright, Euripides, composes the tragedy, Medea, on the bases of the myth of Jason and Medea in around 400 BC. Medea portrays the position of women within that time period in Greek culture. The Greeks did not see women as equal citizens within the time period of Medea s composition. The Greek culture considered women as submissive servants, whom did not have a place in politics. Women in that period of history were greatly dependent of their husbands. The author, Euripides, capitalizes on this social inequality through his characters. Medeaexpresses this inequality by saying, It is a bitter thing to be a woman. (Act I, 226) She then compares both genders using analogies within her expression of rage. Medea, the protagonist and focal character within the play, struggles with her sanity as a result of her husband, Jasons many betrayals. Focusing on her ultimate goal, Jason s demise, she vows to get revenge on all of those who are the cause of her to suffer great emotional pain. Death is my wish, For myself, my enemies, my children. Destruction. (Act I, 44 44) Having become twisted due to her consumption of rage due to the manipulation, betrayal, and other sufferings inflicted by her own husband, Medea invokes her revenge, which in the end deprives Medea of her home, sanity, and children. The tragedy begins with Medea mourning aloud her laments of self pity. She is easily replaced by her previous husband and father of her two children, Jason, who now enters into a ... Any patient on more than a small amount of any vasoactive drip really needs to have an a line for proper BP management if they re sick enough to be put in the unit and need pressors, then they re sick enough for an a line. Non invasive automatic blood pressure cuffs are useful, but if a person is labile push for an a line. Certain situations absolutely require an a line for BP monitoring: any use of any dose of nipride, for example. • 22. Antigone, Star Wars, and the Good Life Sophocles s play Antigone promotes a good life that, through careful analysis, is very similar to the Stoic theory of the good life. Antigone is a story about the members of the ancient Theban aristocracy vying for control of themselves and others; however, in its core it contains an exploration of the good life, that is trying to investigate what values will allow one to get what they want out of life. A group of philosophers, also of Greek origin, produced a theory of this topic; this group of thinkers is called the Stoics. Concerning the good life they had two main values, from which they believe a good life can originate. The first of the two is finding happiness from inner resources, or trying not to depend on things around you such as wealth or adventure to give you a sense of happiness. The second facet is that of not worrying about things that are out of your control, as there is no use. Antigone brings to stage these topics, and shows characters who either live according to them, and exit with a good life, and others who deny these, and end the play living in a bad life. Therefore the play shows through example, that Stoic values will lead to a positive way of living, and living against the values will lead to you not getting everything out of life. The two main characters in this tragedy are Creon, the king of Thebes, and uncle of the other character Antigone, the daughter of the last king of the same city Thebes. Holton claims that historians excessively rely on sources by the Federalist which reveals a prejudiced Federalist view (Hollitz, 110). Woody Holton uses the writings of James Madisonand Alexander Hamiltonto expose the Founding Fathers deeper motives in writing the Constitution. The Federalist Paper No. 10 argues that a republic is capable of controlling the effects of faction, more than a democracy. The reason is that a system of representation is more capable of protecting the rights of the individuals, as well as being able to balance the needs of the public good. James Madison views many advantages of a republic over a pure democracy. A republic, Madison writes, is different from a democracy because its government is placed in the hands of delegates, and as a result of this, it can be extended over a larger area. The idea is that in a large republic there will be more fit characters to choose from for each delegate (Hollitz, 106). The chosen elites as representatives of the people will be more helpful to the public good than by the people themselves. Also, the fact that each representative is chosen from a larger number of citizens should make the vicious arts (Hollitz, 107). For instance, in a larger republic a corrupt delegate would need to bribe many more people in order to win an election than in a small republic, making it more difficult for unworthy candidates. Second, the same advantage which a republic has over a pure democracy in controlling the effects of faction by a larger over a small republic (Hollitz, 107). In light of this, he called for Americans to think over the incident and explained that all men are created equal and should be free. In addition, the author goes on to say that all Americans, even those of color, should enjoy the same rights as any American and be treated just as fair. Furthermore, the African American was not given the same rights or treatment; they were not free. He calls upon the issue in a moral light and claims that the nation will not be fully free until all its citizens are free (Kennedy). To explain, his point was that they cannot call this nation the land of the free if they excluded people based on skin color. Given these points, Kennedy called for action to make the country a place of equal freedom, as well as point out all he had done to desegregate. He concluded by asking for the support of every citizen in making the country a place of freedom for everyone. Americans can see the change in freedom, from what is was then to what it is now. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has created training courses for coaches and athletic administrators. These training programs assist in the awareness and preparedness of what actions to take should concussions occur during practices or on game day. In the notes of A Doll s house, in 1878, Ibsen writes A woman cannot be herself in contemporary society, it is an exclusively male society with laws drafted by men, and with counsel and judges who judge feminine conduct from the male point of view. It comprises of attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation.*Attention *Retention *Reproduction *Motivation*Attention this implies that to accurately learn by observation, a person must pay attention to the person doing the modeling and should steer away from any possible distraction. *Retention this is a poignant part of the social learning process as the behavior may have been observed, but it is not always remembered which thus prevents imitation or mimicry (McLeod, 2006). *Reproduction this is the process where the student practices the recently learned behavior, and it is majorly dependent on the physical capabilities of the observer to reproduce the behavior. *Motivation a person has to value the benefit of continuously performing the action. Therefore, this development is often driven by positive reinforcement for demonstrating the behavior correctly or punishment for applying the behavior inappropriately (Sincero, 2011). Second, once Portia commits suicide, this eases Brutus motivation for betrayal because of his wife s death. Even if Brutus brushes off her death, it really was one of the assets that drove him off the deep end. Portia s death goes hand in hand with Brutus which ultimately ended the men acting so absurd. Lastly, due to Brutus suicide, this ends all the absurdity amongst the men. Once Brutus runs on his sword this sets the final peace, mainly because there is no one else to betray. Morally minded citizens tried to solve the growing problem of drunkenness by pushing their efforts to end this behavior. The first customer arrived 00:36 or 36 seconds after the stopwatch began to run, hence that is their inter arrival time. Customer 1 departed at 1:18 from when the stopwatch ran. By taking the difference between the departure clock time and arrival clock time, service time was calculated. This was done for all 15 customers. Arrival times and departure timesare in clock time because we observed their arrivals and departures by viewing a stopwatch. The final clock time noted is 11:36 (so 11 minutes and 36 seconds from when the clock first began) and that is the same time the final customer (customer 15) departed. After observing and collecting data regarding the regular check out line, many values were calculated, including; average arrival rate, average service rate, average expected number of customers in the system, average expected number of customers in a queue, average expected number of customers in service, average expected time a customer spends in the system, average expected time a customer spends waiting in the queue and the average expected time a customer spends being serviced. From the Ancient Greeks, who treated Egypt with venerable respect, to Alexander the Great, and Napoleon, who felt it was imperative to go there, few other cultures have represented so much of universal value to all humans. The purpose of this paper is to present a brief survey of the ancient New Kingdom of Egypt. An emphasis on scholarly views will focus on culture, agriculture, Nubian Pharaohs, religion, and war. Of particular interest is the manner in which this historical knowledge is repeatedly made relevant in today s world. Culture Spanning approximately 1550 to 1070 BCE, the New Kingdom of Egypt represents a golden age, one which was almost the opposite of the Middle Kingdom of Egypt in terms of its accomplishments. Some of the most prestigious names of ancient Egypt come from this period, such as Hatsetshup, the female pharaoh, Thutmose III, Ramses II, the last warrior pharaoh of the New Kingdom, King Akhenaten, the sun worshipper, his beloved wife Nefertiti, and Tutankhamun, the much celebrated boy king. Michelle Obamas allusion to the Founding Fathers and their ideals help to establish a connection between Clinton and the leaders that forged the nation. Including this comparison helps to guide the audience to collate their knowledge of the Founding Fathers and apply it to Hillary Clinton. This citation becomes particularly significant when the First Lady uses people that are so highly respected, such as the Founding Fathers, to compare to Secretary Clinton. As a result, Michelle Obama is able to successfully enhance the image of Hillary Clinton in the eyes of her audience. Nevertheless, Michelle Obama also uses allusions to downgrade the image of Clintons opponent, Donald Trump. The First lady explains how we should never . . .let anyone ever tell you that this country isn t great, that somehow we need to make it great again (Obama 29). Michelle Obama ameliorates Clintons image, by alluding to a negative persona of her rival. The First Lady utilizes Donald Trump s campaign slogan to institute that America is already great within itself, and the nation does not need Trump to make it great again . This tactic supports Michelle Obamas claim by altering the audiences view point of Donald Trump and his slogan. • 55. Literary Analysis Of Revelation By Flannery OConnor Revelation Among many diseases, judgment is an epidemic virus within the human mind; more dangerously with the lack of discernment can create a toxic atmosphere and such intoxication is highlighted within the short story, Revelation, by Flannery O Connor. The story is set in the south, and revolves around an irrational yet religious character, name Mrs. Turpin, who overlooks her own flaws to cast judgments on others. The author uses language, irony, and archetypes within the story to present that judgement is a form of unconscious self deception that causes hypocritical behavior and ultimately self agitation. The author demonstrates this by having the characters cast judgment upon each other, which makes the act of passing judgment on to others an infectious disease fed by society. The usage of informal language in the beginning of the story, produces transparent characters by exposing their flaws through their speech. Opening with the reckless announcement addressed by Mrs.Turpin, I wish I could reduce (3). in front of strangers had marked her hasty character. This early exposure of her flaw notes the tragedy of her character for being quick to speak, quick to conclude and quick to judge.
