Essay about The Revolutionary War
The Revolutionary War
The Revolutionary War started on April 19, 1775 at Lexington and Concord. America was very much
unprepared with no central government or army. The congress stepped up as the government and
began to organize an army. The Revolutionary War did not end until September 3, 1783 with the
signing of the final peace treaty between America and Great Britain. The victory in the Revolution
War led to the birth of a new independent nation. After the Revolution it was a time of cooperation.
People in the nation were focusing on building a government, migrating west and their new found
freedom. Military actions were more in surrounding areas mainly France, Mexico and Britain. In 1798

After the first battle of the Civil War the Upper states in the South also seceded. Abraham Lincoln was
able to persuade Maryland, Delaware, Kentucky, and Missouri to stay in the Union. By doing this
Lincoln gained access to the river systems in Kentucky and Missouri that led into the heart of the
South. This control effected the 1862 invasions of the south, which provided the North with most of
its early military successes. The Civil War was total trench warfare. Technology was the main event
that influenced total trench warfare. Technology led to ideas such as strategy, weapons, and
transportation. It wasn t until 1865 the Civil War ended with the surrender of the South s army. The
Civil War was an event that impacted the United States greatly economically, politically and socially.
This impact called for great reconstruction after the Civil War.
*Political Constitutional Developments After the American Revolution ended there was a debate on if
all ties should be broken with Britain. Support for American Independence rode strong up into 1776.
Thomas Paine wrote a pamphlet, Common Sense. This pamphlet rebelled against King George III and
argues for complete Independence of the American colonies. On July 4, 1776, a Declaration of
Independence was adopted stating the colonies freedom from Britain. The time after the Revolution
was a period of political reconstruction. A time were State franchises were developed and

Summary Of Giorgio Agamben s Homo Sacer
Giorgio Agamben s book Homo Sacer begins by addressing the topics of bare life and meaningful
socially contextualized life in relation to the philosophical terms of zoē and bios respectively.
Agamben toys with the idea that sovereignty naturally coincides with bios, whereas zoē is only
included in politics in the form of exception. (Agamben 10) This assertion runs parralel to the idea of
atavism, which is essentially the principle that humans can often revert to primal and ancestral
behaviors when left unchecked by society. This reversion is generally regarded as a violent and
undesirable; philsophers such as Hobbes would certainly feel that atavism is partially responsible for
the life of man being solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short, which is a core thematic component of
his work Leviathan. (Hobbes 78) Despite Agamben and Hobbes s shared notion that primitive
behaviors fall outside the natural sphere of politics and are relatively negative, there is a strong case to
be made for atavism s role in positive human sociopolitical structures. One such positive instance is
familial structures. Although the concept of sovereignty can be expressed through the father figure and
paternal subjugation, and the concept of bare life can be established philosphically by the figure of the
mother and an individual s birth, it it nontheless true that human beings seek out families and attempt
to live in concordance with their parents , siblings , and childrens needs and desires

The durability of clay has brought forth an immense abundance of Greek pottery, a craft mastered by
Athenian artists. Archeologists have found hundreds of varieties in creation, shape, function, style, and
artwork in Archaic vases. The museum has been blessed with one of these priceless artifacts; it is the
duty of this establishment to accumulate as much data as possible surrounding the vase. In first
identifying technique, dimensions, and condition, as well as describing shape, ornament, and figural
scenery, one may then begin to analyze the vase. This serves the general purpose of understanding
where the artifact stands in Greek culture and history. Through the examination and research of figural
scenes, it is then possible to compare ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His four legs stand more relaxed than those of the centaur to his right, who lunges forward towards a
human enemy. This centaur differs from the first in that he faces away from the viewer; his bare back
is exposed, and in his right hand he grasps the front of the spear. However, his left arm is open,
exposing the palm of his left hand. The third centaur is bearded and is shown in profile. Facing the
humans to his left, he stands on his hind legs, recoils in defense, and holds his spear behind his head
with both hands. His left hand grasps the front of the spear, and his right hand grasps the back of the
spear. To his right there is a small insect like figure, with two sets of wing pairs protruding from its
upper section and legs jutting from its lower section.
Of the human figures, the first is male and faces the two centaurs to the left of the viewer. Also
lunging forward, he plants his front foot as the heel of his back foot rises. His hair is shorter than that
of the centaurs, and he holds the Boeotian variation of the hoplite shield that covers his mouth and
chin. This shield is decorated with the outline of a turtle. The restored condition of the body leaves his
clothing, or lack thereof, indistinguishable. It is also hard to discern whether he or the character to his
right is holding a sword, which is short and points downward. The next figure, also human, lunges in
the opposite direction. He is bearded and mustached, and lion skin is draped around

Essay on Aphra Behn s Oroonoko – Slaughter of the Human...
Oroonoko Slaughter of the Human Spirit
Aphra Behn introduces her characters in Oroonoko as beautiful people who possess a pure, innocent
love. Behn does this in an effort to make her readers feel and question. Her poetic description of their
emotions magnify the horror of the final scene. Behn s romantic love story is brought to a tragic end
through brutality and death. Why did she choose such an ending? Her decision to have Oroonoko take
the life of his wife and unborn child leaves her audience questioning. Was what they had love? If not,
what was it? What had killed their innocence?
The story of Oroonoko and Imoinda began with him approaching her and ended with the cut of his
knife. Oroonoko both began and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tiger dies without a fight.
After he had conquered the beast, he takes his knife and cuts open her heart. Tis a Notion commonly
receiv d with us, That nothing can receive a Wound in the Heart and Live; but when the Heart of this
courageous Animal was taken out, there were Seven Bullets of Lead in it, and the Wounds seem d up
with great scars. (pg. 46) Just as Oroonoko killed this beast, slavery had killed Oroonoko. The tiger
stands as a symbol of Oroonoko, a creature both fierce and fearful. Why is it that Oroonoko had
finally lost his power? Why was he now fearful?
Throughout the story, Oroonoko encounters many hardships. He loses his wife to the King, is
convinced that the King has killed Imoinda, and is sold into slavery. However, through all this
Oroonoko continues onward. He still has his hope and control. He still feels as though he has some
power. He can determine his own future. He has a choice. Like the tiger, his heart had been struck
with many bullets, but he continued to live. However, this strong man was not without weakness. His
weakness was Imoinda. Her Griefs were so many Darts in the Great Heart of Oroonoko. He knew that
he was going to die after leading the slave revolt. He couldn t stand the thought of leaving her behind.
Imagining her alone with her new born child helpless under the power of the master was the arrow
that finally took Oroonoko s life, the arrow that

aspects of Figure 1 2 increased by a factor of 100 relative to Figure 1 1? Did the height increase by
that amount? The diameter? The area? Figure 1 2 widened the view allowing for 1 mile of diameter to

Effects Of Racial Bias On Multiracial Individuals
Cognitive Psychology Essentialism and Racial Bias Jointly Contribute to the Categorization of
Multiracial Individuals
In the United States, racism and stereotype bias is an important issue that we still struggle with today
and it impacts how we understand each other. Throughout U.S history, people that were mixed (part
white and part black) were typically identified as Black. Arnold Ho, Susan Gelman and Steven
Roberts, U M professors of psychology published a scientific article (Ho et al., 2015) looking into the
cognitive backgrounds behind how an individual categorizes other individuals based on race. They
performed studies on categorization on how we categorize multiracial individuals. The study
combined research on racial existentialism, existentialism meaning ideals and negative bias in order to
explain the difference in the way people categorize multiracial individuals as black over white . Their
findings suggest that categorization biases, also known as hypodescent, influence how we categorize
multiracial individuals. The study asserts that Black White multiracial individuals in the United States
are categorized as Black (hypo descent categorization). The basis of this categorization is socially
motivated. In essence, the interplay between the anti Black bias and psychological existentialism leads
to hypo descent categorization. According to the authors, psychological essentialism is the belief that
particular group members share common distinct characteristics

The African Queen Essays
THE AFRICAN QUEEN Short Summary: quot; The African Queen quot; is the tale of two
companions with different personalities who develop an untrustworthy love affair as they travel
together downriver in Africa around the start of World War I. They struggle against the climate, the
river, the bugs, the Germans and, most of all, against each other. In the course of much misery, they
develop love and respect for each other. Detailed Summary: In September 1914, the German
occupying forces hold East Africa. The story starts in a small village that is overlorded by a stuffy
British missionary, Reverent Samuel Sayer and his spinster, prudish sister Rose Sayer, who is utterly
devoted to her brother. Rose is also very naive and pious. She ... Show more content on

Rose, who is now resolute and strong willed, wants to strike back against the Germans. She plans to

quot;. At first, Charlie doesn t want to support that patriotic plan. Rose tries to change his views by
accusing him permanently of not helping their country. That shows effects and Charlie agrees to her
plan. They start their travel down to the river. At first they are polite and tolerant to each other. After
Charlie has drunk his gin, he suggests that they each could take a bath in the river. During the night, a
rain storm soacks Charlie, who must sleep on the open deck, while Rose sleeps on the lower deck.
After they passed a series of dangerous rapids, Charlie expects that Rose will think over her plan, but
it turns out that this was not correct. On the contrary: Rose wishes more dangerous rapids because she
wants to learn how to steer the quot;African Queen quot;. She is developing a kind of love for the
quot;African Queen quot;. After some drinks Charlie reneges on his promise to destroy the German
warship. He says that it is an absurd idea because the fort at Shona has sharpshooters and snipers,
which they have to pass during the day. Rose accuses him of being a liar and a coward. Charlie gets

Tracheal Replacement Report
The background of this report is based on the controversy surrounding thoracic surgeon, Paolo
Macchiarini. Macchiarini grew a reputation as a star surgeon for his work involving ground breaking
trachea transplants. He was viewed as a forerunner in the field of regenerative medicine using both
synthetic and biological scaffolds as trachea transplants. The transplants were seeded with the patients
own stem cells taken from bone marrow and placed in a machine where it rotated in a solution
designed to encourage cell growth. The impression was that the cells would divide and turn into
tracheal cells. These plastic trachea transplants proved deadly for his patients. Of the seven patients

The indications for tracheal replacement are lesions a region in an organ or tissue which has suffered
damage through injury or disease that can t be resected and reconstructed safely with end to end
anastomosis or long segment congenital stenosis, which cannot be effectively managed with slide or
patch tracheoplasty , (Haykal et al., 2014). Acquired lesions include malignancy, traumatic injury, and
subglottic or tracheal stenosis. The general limits for safe resection are about one half of the tracheal
length in adults and one third in small children. Very lengthy lesions that cannot be safely removed
and reconstructed primarily are managed palliatively with long term T tubes or stents. The clinical
course of these patients is usually complicated with multiple infections and frequent hospital
admissions. Therefore, a safe and dependable tracheal replacement remains an important unmet

Liam Carlos Williams Accomplishments

he faced many tragedies not only in his career but in his poetry as well. Williams overcome these
difficulties and they made him even more remarkable and influential to this day for his life, career, and

The speaker the many of Spring and All is a man from an older generation. This can be verified in
lines 5 6 and 12 13, where it states, muddy fields/ brown with dried weeds/ dead, brown leaves/
leafless vines . Many see this poem s speaker as an older man because he uses a small vocabulary
when describing the dead, brown leaves in line 12. In line 1 2 it implies By the road to the contagious
hospital/ under the surge of the blue . So in line two when it states under the surge of the blue in many
people s eyes it looks like the poem is meant for an older generation because of the vast vocabulary
the speaker uses. In the same poem Spring and All the attitude toward the subject of the poem that the
speaker conveys is rough as they explain how the outside looks cold and uncertain before spring
enters the new world. Evidence of this is in lines 16 19 where it says They enter the new world naked,/
cold, uncertain of all/ save that they enter. All about them/ the cold familiar wind . Many people would
also say that the author wrote this poem to explain what spring looks like when approaching and how
it looks like a disaster before spring blooms into the new world. In lines 24 27 it shows how the birth
of spring looks like a disaster by stating But now the stark dignity of/ entrance still, the profound/ has

The Progressive Era ( 1900-1919 )
The Progressive Era (1900 1919) presented solutions to the social, political, and economic changes in
the United States of America which had surfaced in the framework of the rapid changes produced
during the Industrial Revolution and the growth of modern capitalism in America. Many progressives
believed that these changes marked the end of the old order and invited the beginning of a new era fit
for the industrial age. Others believed that these changes marked a necessity for improvement rather
than complete eradication. Regardless, American citizens utilized their ability to enrich social
circumstances, both politically and morally, to guarantee social justice around 1865 1929. In a general
sense, the conservative goals of this period substantiated the Liberal developments passed by
Progressive leaders. Corresponding to the definition of conservatism, a political philosophy based on
tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to
abrupt change , the triumph of Conservatism existed in a sense that efforts were made to maintain
established philosophies vital to an industrial social order. The Progressive leaders essentially wanted
to perpetuate Liberal reform to bring upon general conservatism. Therefore, the 19th century can truly
be defined by both the triumph of conservatism and the success of progressives. An array of
accomplishments from the Progressive s battle were conservative in nature. The fight against

Low Income Housing Development Essay
When real estate development focuses on implementing sustainable low income housing projects that
help address the economic and social needs of society, it has invested in a long term and in demand
project. When one thinks of low income housing, one tends to think of section 8 and automatically
invasions crime, unsanitary living conditions, and an overcrowded and loud environment. Why is this
the natural assumption and vision one gets? The answer is because for many years low income
housing has brought forth residents with high stress and desperate character. Communities with higher
morale and fatter wallets reject the opportunity for low income families to live amongst there
neighborhood, forcing low income development to be consistently established in the less desirable and
high crime rate areas. What if we could hide/blend low income housing amongst a desirable
neighborhood with new construction and more energy efficient designing? By developing a project for
new construction that is open to the general public and is also available for state assisted families who
meet low income needs, we can design an aesthetically pleasing community residents of any class will

Acid Rain Experiment
The Conodoguinet Creek is a 101 mile tributary of the Susquehanna River in south central
Pennsylvania. Recently, a group of East Pennsboro 8th grade students went to the Conodoguinet
Creek in Acri Meadow Park to test it for pollution. The two main causes of water pollution are
eutrophication and acid rain. Eutrophication is excessive richness of nutrients in a body of water,
frequently due to runoff from land, which causes a dense growth of plant life and death of animal life
from lack of oxygen. Acid rain is mainly caused by a chemical reaction that starts when compounds
such as sulfur and nitrogen are released into the air. It can come in many forms such as rain, snow, and
hail. Three experiments that were done to test for pollution are counting ... Show more content on

This experiment uses the pH scale to determine the purity of the water. The pH scale measures acidity
and alkalinity or base. Acidity is the level of acid in a substance and alkalinity is a measure of the
capacity of solution to neutralize an acid. The pH scale goes from 0 to 14. A reading of 0 to 6 is an
acid reading and a reading of 8 to 14 is an alkaline reading. For one of the acidity tests the students
had to get a rock from the creek and pour acid on it. If the rock bubbles and makes a sizzling sound,
then it neutralizes acid. Neutralizing means rendering something ineffective or harmless by applying
an opposite force or effect. In this case, the acid is neutralizing the alkaline on the rock. Limestone
neutralizes acid and sandstone doesn t. The show that the creek has a neutral pH of 7 and 69.1% of the
rocks collected neutralize acid. Another test was an alkalinity test which shows that the creek has
about 13 ppm. This means that the majority of the rocks neutralize acid rain, keeping the water

Colonial Indian Relations And The Impact On Colonization
COLONIAL INDIAN RELATIONS AND THE IMPACT ON COLONIZATION Jacquelyn Henry
University of Texas at Arlington HIST 1311 701: History of the United States to 1865 September 6,
2016 When discussing colonization, it is often asserted that European settlers contributed a variety of
foreign changes, both negative and positive, to the local natives. Things such as plants, domesticated
animals, advances in weaponry, European fashion, religion and foreign disease were just a few of the
new concepts introduced to the Indians. It is easy to look at Europeans as vilified strangers in a new
land taking that what does not belong to them, such as land, resources, and at times, even people.
What if we were to look at things from a different perspective? What roles did the Indians play to
impact the creation of the European colonies? Early relations amongst the natives and settlers
exhibited a fluid balance of conflict and cooperation that facilitated, for both parties, economic
opportunities based on trade, safety in the form of treaties and allies, and the potential gain of power.
When establishing colonies, many Europeans did so on the premise that the new lands would provide
a source of economic gain via flourishing crops, gainful resources, or sought after precious metals,
and while this is true on some measures, another important source of revenue would come in the form
of trade amongst the natives. With the influx of colonists came the new desire for foreign goods. The

Writing Signs
Remembering as a little girl my mother and I used to drive down the road and she would always point

learning how to read and write is going to be your most powerful weapon. My earliest memories about
reading and writing were very pleasant for me. In a way I guess, you could even say that some of
these experiences were even significate to me. It was the first time in my life that I can truly remember
feeling amusing about learning. It was the little things she did. Mom would purchase picture book and

influenced me through the sound of her voice how strong and soft her words would hit the surface

Waking up to a new not promised day is always special. I would jump out of bed say my prayers and
every time I got into the car with my Mom it was like an automatic game we would play, pushing the

would travel forever in my mind. Mom words were, getting lost is half the fun. She made learning fun

Changing The Driving Age To 18 Essay
Sweet 16 is all about getting the perfect car, having the biggest party, and looking forward to the

Today there have been many talks about changing the driving age from 16 to 18. Although rising the
driving age could possibly have many pros, there also is very many cons to the situation. In my
opinion, changing the driving age is a terrible idea because, when you turn 18 you go off to college

on their parents to transport them around until they re legally considered adults, and finally being in

Rising the driving age would not only stress teenagers out it will put a financial burden on their
parents. Many people say 16 is too young to operate a motor vehicle. In my opinion 16 is the best age
to start learning the rules of the road and learning the responsibilities that come with driving. Raising
the driving age would mean that 18 year olds would have to learn to move out on their own away from
home, start looking for career paths they would like to take in life, and on top of all of that learn the
rules of the road. I feel as if that is way too much to take on all at once. Furthermore, not everyone s
parent can afford/be able to transport them around that long. A lot of 18 year old get jobs, go to
sporting events, and attend high school until graduation. Parents can t and shouldn t be forced to drive
their adult around wherever they need to go and take time out of their day or work schedule because
the state feels that being 16 or 17 is way too you to drive. I feel as if 16 year olds are old enough to
work, then they should be old enough to take themselves to and from

Emily Grierson Patriarchy
Throughout the history of society, specifically during the years prior to the era of feminism, people
have place women as the weaker gender. In literature , there have been many instances where women
have been outshined and neglected by men because their works or contribution s are deemed to be
inferior and noncompliant in the eyes of men. Men are seen as autocratic ruler of a household and thus
they feel it s their responsibility to constantly overlook and protect women due to their inferiority that
society has placed on them, as a result, men feel superior to women. Nevertheless, men are not
mindful of the effects and outcomes of their patriarchal domination on women: depression, losing
touch of reality, isolation, and worst of all, losing their sanity. An example in literature that displays
this type of structure of society where women can become victims of patriarchal conditions takes
place in the short stories A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner and The Yellowpaper by Charlotte
Perkins Gilman. Both women, the main character Emily Grierson from Faulkner s story and the
narrator from Gilman s story, though they have different circumstances, are similar in a unique way as
they are both held back by the male figures in their households within the patriarchal society, and as a
result, they lose touch within each of their societies and are forced to insanity. Feminists have
described patriarchy as a system of oppression to women. Second wave feminists, who

Japanese Internment Camps Essay
A day that will live in infamy or more widely known as Pearl Harbor occurred on December 7th,
1941. The Japanese had attacked the American military base at Pearl Harbor, which is near Oahu. The
Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships,
and more than 300 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and
another 1,000 were wounded. This caused the US to enter WWII, as well as caused a fear on the West
coast of the US because of the dense population of Japanese Americans that are found there. The
status regarding Japanese Americans was changed rapidly after this event and they were thought to
want to cause harm to the US because we declared war against the axis powers, which included Japan
for revenge for Pearl Harbor. Approximately 2 months after Pearl Harbor was bombed, Roosevelt
signed Executive Order 9066, which caused the relocation of these Japanese Americans into

Colorado, and Arkansas. In my opinion, The internment of the Japanese Americans in camps was
unconstitutional and immoral because you could not prove the threatening intentions that these
Japanese people had towards the US. We can t read peoples minds, so these reasons for imprisonment

The State Of Dignity
George Santayana once said, Our dignity is not in what we do, but what we understand . The term
dignity is defined as a state of being worthy of honor or respect and self respect. Dignity is an
important characteristic to have. Without dignity, one does not have the strength and self respect
needed to do what is best for them. My cousin, Dianna, is dignified because she handles herself with
grace, she walked away from a toxic relationship, and she responds to hate with love.
Dianna handles herself with grace. She only wears clothing that portrays her as a proper lady. Her
closet consists of pencil skirts and blouses. Dianna has fantastic manners, which help her maintain an
aura of grace. She is likely to help someone in need before she helps herself. Dianna always speaks
nice words. She is a firm believer that words reflect the soul; she uses her words to enlighten ... Show

While it is difficult to not return the feelings, Dianna chooses to respond to hate with love. If someone
says something rude to her, she says something nice back. She is nice regardless of what they say or
do. Dianna understands that it is common for someone to hate, so she forgives them. She will forgive
someone even though their actions or words were deliberate. Most importantly, Dianna ignores their
hate. She finds that it is easier to simply ignore someone who is negative and focus on the positive
people.
Dianna is a dignified person. She handles herself with grace. Dianna always dresses like a lady, has
the best manners, and speaks nice words to help her keep her grace. Dianna walked away from a toxic
relationship. This was very brave of her to do as it can be scary to leave a part of your life behind.
Finally, Dianna responds to hate with love. She has methods of keeping her life positive. Dignity is
one characteristic that defines who you are. It is important to keep your dignity, even in tough

Presley Gender Roles Essay
According to our text, gender is the sense of being male or female... gender refers to the social
perceptions of maleness or femaleness. All cultures prescribe gender roles for males and females, but
these roles differ greatly between one culture to another (Feldman, 2016, p. 190).
The first time that Presley was really faced with gender related choices occurred just after she turned
four years old. It was a typical gender related choice scenario about what toys to play with. She was
trying to choose between playing with trucks, dolls, cooking toys or action figures. My partner and I
made a choice to not inflict our ideas on her ideas but to offer her the information she would need to
make informed choices. Regardless of the gender appropriateness, we chose to show her that men and
women can do the same things. For example, females can be tough and play sports and males can
cook and clean. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this point my partner and I began trying to point out all of the things that men and women can both
do as well as changing out everyday stereotypical roles. For example, he has begun to help more with
the housework so that Presley can see that boys can cook and clean too.
At six and a half years old, it becomes clear that Presley identifies with me as the same sex parent
more than she does with my partner. She is more interested in doing the things that I do but luckily I
take on a variety of gender role tasks that allow her to see that women can do things that are
sometimes thought to be masculine. I encourage her to be a helper/ observer but I also encourage her
to engage in other traditionally masculine activities such as playing

harmfull an argument can become. Also this book showed me how harmfull an event like this civil

World War II. The discussion will include an examination of the artwork of three artists. Two artists
will have worked during the Great Depression and one artist will have been an Abstract Expressionist.
In discussing the artists work, a description of each work and its style will be included. An

The painting includes a woman and a man with a house in the background. The woman is clothed in
appears to be an apron and she has a look on her face that resembles a look someone has when they
are mad. The man is clothed in overalls and holding a pitchfork as if telling the viewer to go to work.
The house is of Gothic architecture with flowers on the porch that is meant to represent the idea if you
want something you have to work for it.
Purpose of Artwork The Great Depression caused artists to create images that depicted a society of
individuals who were hard workers. Images were set in an atmosphere that was, both, recognizable
and relatable. Art was being created by all races therefore the government realized the impact it was
having and they sought to promote social reform. During this time industry executives wanted to
convey a message to society that they had the workers best interest at heart. Artists used murals to
depict images of trade, industry, and mill work. These workers were influenced by the murals because
it was something that made them feel like they were respected. This respect had a positive impact and
therefore was a contributing factor to social reform.
Conclusion
Creations of art during The Great Depression couldn t have been more perfect than the works by
Maynard Dixon and Grant Wood. In a style dubbed social realism Maynard Dixon created Springtime

Mid Term Report
From the study of week four material which is family roles. It can be noticed that how roles for
women changed during the time. As we have already discuss plenty of the historical issue, for this
reach paper, i want to talk something more relevant, some situation just happened in this century.
The first thing I want to talk is One Child Policy, which is a population control method of People s
Republic of China. It establish in 1950s, and been treated as one of the basic policy in China. Chinese
government try to use this method to control the baby boom after the World War II. As the population
rose further during the sixties and seventies, China found it increasingly difficult to feed everyone.
Had the population growth remained unchecked, no one knows what kind of unrest or civil war would
have shaped up. Not only has China managed to contain its population growth with the one child
policy but it has managed to become a superpower with healthy citizens. (NLCATP) China claims that
it has prevented or averted four hundred million births in the last three decades, that s much more than
the population of the United States.China s manpower was an advantage back at the time when Mao
initiated rapid development and industrialization. Even today, China is the most populous country and
the manufacturing hub of the world. One child

Endosulfan Literature Review
Impact of Endosulfan on Male Reproductive functions a review
ABSTRACT
Endosulfan is an organochlorine insecticide and acaracide used to control a broad range of insect and
arthropod pests on a wide variety of crops in many agrosystems. It can cause acute and chronic
toxicity. Endosulfan is a neurotoxin, haematoxin, genotoxin and nephrotoxin. Toxicity of this
insecticide on reproductive organs is confirmed. So this article reviews experimental and
epidemiological studies of reproductive toxicity of endosulfan in males. The Literature search was
carried on PubMed for the years 1994 2014. Twelve experimental studies and two human studies on
Male Reproductive Toxicity induced by endosulfan were identified. Based on the findings, it suggest
that endosulfan can affect the male reproductive system and also that these effects are likely to be
larger if exposure occurs during the developmental phase. Further investigation of endosulfan as
reproductive toxicant is warranted.

The Red Army
The Red Army Right after the October 1917 Bolshevik Revolution, an army was established and took
the official name of Workers and Peasants Red Army (It was only renamed Soviet Army in 1946). The
Red army was absolutely essential for the Communists to stop several coalition armies attacking the
new Communist regime. During WW I, a huge Imperial Russian army (estimated at 19 million
soldiers and officers representing over 15% of the Russian population) had been fighting Germany on
the Eastern front with little success. Under equipped, poorly trained and supervised, it had lost close to
9 million soldiers through desertions, deaths, wounded or prisoners. In July 1918, upon Lenin s order,
the Romanov Imperial family was assassinated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These squads had instructions to shoot retreating soldiers or possible deserters (note that such squads
had been in history already deployed within the Roman Empire conquests as well as in Napoleonic
battles). To ensure political compliance with Bolsheviks principles, each battalion had at his helm a
Political Commissar in charge not only of educating the troops, but also holding the responsibility to
counter sign all decisions from high level officers. By October 1919, all three White armies (vastly
outnumbered by the Red army troops) had been defeated. One could say that Trotsky saved the Soviet
regime from falling into oblivion. Another primary element of the Red army dominance is most
probably the effective use of well crafted posters. These did impress by and large naive illiterate
peasants soldiers trusting the new Bolshevik regime would bring them a better future. We should not
forget that peasants were deeply religious and used to worship God and his Saints praying in front of
colourful icons. In a sense, through well crafted posters, Bolsheviks used successfully this Russian
cultural attribute to win commitment from the peasant soldiers

The Period Of The Edo Era
During the Tokugawa era Noh continued to be an aristocratic art form supported by the shogun, the
feudal aristocrats or daimyo, as well as several wealthy and more sophisticated commoners. While
kabuki and joruri, popular to the middle class, focused on new and experimental entertainment, Noh
strived to preserve its established high standards and historic authenticity and remained mostly
unchanged throughout the era. To capture the essence of performances given by great masters, every
detail in movements and positions is reproduced by others, generally resulting in an increasingly slow,
ceremonial tempo.
The fall of the Tokugawa shogunate in 1868 and the formation of a new government resulted in the
end of financial support for Noh, and the entire field experienced major, financial crisis. Shortly after
the Meiji Restoration, both the number of Noh performers and Noh stages greatly diminished for some
time.
The support from the imperial government was eventually regained due to Noh s appeal to foreign
diplomats. The companies that remained active throughout the Meiji era also significantly broadened
Noh s reach by catering to the public, performing at theatres in major cities such as Tokyo and Osaka.
Spreading the knowledge about Noh and gathering knowledge from other types of drama. (Japan)

Pros And Cons Of Substance Dualism
The argument of the two articles is that substance dualism (sometimes aka Cartesian Dualism) is not a
viable theory. Substance dualism is the theory that the immaterial mind and the material body are
separate substances with independent existences. The authors shined light on how substance dualism
has flaws and how the substantial soul cannot exist distinct from the physical body. In the article A
Buddhist take on Gilbert Ryle s Theory of Mind , author Chien Te Lin used Ryle s views, along with

The Character Of Don Giovanni
Don Giovanni is the protagonist of one of the most famous Mozart s operas. Mozart s protagonist is
based of the Spanish tale s character named Don Juan, a famous womanizer. According to Cambridge
Dictionary, a hero is defined as a person admire for bravery, great achievements, or good qualities, [1]
it can be said that Don Giovanni is brave, at his standards has some great achievements, and has some
good qualities such as fearlessness, courage, and firm to his beliefs. One of the main reasons why
some people label Don Giovanni as a villain is because at the beginning of the opera Donna Anna
claims that Giovanni has raped her and then calls him a murder when he kills her father. When taken a
closer look at those specific scenes, such claims are less credible. Instead of being afraid like a usual
rape victim, she seems furious. The claim of rape gets even more questionable when Donna Anna s
first recrimination is betrayer, instead of rapist. It gives the impression that she appears to be angry at
the fact that he is leaving her. Describing Don Giovanni as a murder also seems to be inaccurate. It has
to be clarified that killing someone in a duel is not a murder. Donna s father was the one who
challenged Don Giovanni. He clearly knew that the only outcome was for one of them to die, and that
there was a chance that it could be him. It is also important to take into account that Giovanni
repeatedly refused to fight. Music helps to describe the characters, Every character stands out in the
musical picture. [3] It can be an indication of how he is portrayed as a hero. Mozart shows Don
Giovanni as courageous, strong and confident. When analyzing music, it can notice that Giovanni gets
great music. Mozart provides Don Giovanni with an aria that explicitly embraces his philosophy of
enjoying life: the famous champagne aria, Finch han dal vino. [2] This music is presented as full of
life and celebration which means that Don is shown as the force of life. It can be also be deduced who
Don is by contrasting his character with other s. Mozart also tells us who Don Giovanni is by telling
us who he is not. [3] Leporello is depicted as a character who is a whiner, coward, and a follower. In

$5,000 in taxes, a tax credit of $1,000 means that you now owe just $4,000.
With a tax deduction, the deduction is subtracted from your taxable income. In the same $50,000
example, a $1,000 tax deduction means that you know have a $49,000 taxable income. If you are
taxed at the same rate as the previous example, then you would owe $4,900 in taxes. The most
common tax deduction is the personal exemption, which was $4,050 in 2016. Meanwhile, the child tax
credit is the most common tax credit. This worked out to $1,000 in 2016.

Similarities Between Henry III And Absolutism
When kings violated the moral order, they were subject to canon law like other members of the
Church, and could be excommunicated. The pope punished Philip Augustus in this way for the sin of
adultery. Boleslaus of Poland and Henry II of England were disciplined for the murders of St.
Stanislaus and St. Thomas A. Becket. The pope could release a ruler s subjects from their oath of
allegiance, and could even dispose the king. Pope Gregory VII did this in the case of Henry IV in
1080. Innocent IV did it against Frederick II in 1245. The Council of Lyons in 1274 laid down definite
rules about the role of Cardinals in papal elections. On the tenth day after the pope s death they were
to assemble and remain absolutely locked away from the rest of the world in conclave . Cardinal s

  • 2. Essay about The Revolutionary War The Revolutionary War The Revolutionary War started on April 19, 1775 at Lexington and Concord. America was very much unprepared with no central government or army. The congress stepped up as the government and began to organize an army. The Revolutionary War did not end until September 3, 1783 with the signing of the final peace treaty between America and Great Britain. The victory in the Revolution War led to the birth of a new independent nation. After the Revolution it was a time of cooperation. People in the nation were focusing on building a government, migrating west and their new found freedom. Military actions were more in surrounding areas mainly France, Mexico and Britain. In 1798 was the XYZ affair, an event that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the first battle of the Civil War the Upper states in the South also seceded. Abraham Lincoln was able to persuade Maryland, Delaware, Kentucky, and Missouri to stay in the Union. By doing this Lincoln gained access to the river systems in Kentucky and Missouri that led into the heart of the South. This control effected the 1862 invasions of the south, which provided the North with most of its early military successes. The Civil War was total trench warfare. Technology was the main event that influenced total trench warfare. Technology led to ideas such as strategy, weapons, and transportation. It wasn t until 1865 the Civil War ended with the surrender of the South s army. The Civil War was an event that impacted the United States greatly economically, politically and socially. This impact called for great reconstruction after the Civil War. *Political Constitutional Developments After the American Revolution ended there was a debate on if all ties should be broken with Britain. Support for American Independence rode strong up into 1776. Thomas Paine wrote a pamphlet, Common Sense. This pamphlet rebelled against King George III and argues for complete Independence of the American colonies. On July 4, 1776, a Declaration of Independence was adopted stating the colonies freedom from Britain. The time after the Revolution was a period of political reconstruction. A time were State franchises were developed and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Summary Of Giorgio Agamben s Homo Sacer Giorgio Agamben s book Homo Sacer begins by addressing the topics of bare life and meaningful socially contextualized life in relation to the philosophical terms of zoē and bios respectively. Agamben toys with the idea that sovereignty naturally coincides with bios, whereas zoē is only included in politics in the form of exception. (Agamben 10) This assertion runs parralel to the idea of atavism, which is essentially the principle that humans can often revert to primal and ancestral behaviors when left unchecked by society. This reversion is generally regarded as a violent and undesirable; philsophers such as Hobbes would certainly feel that atavism is partially responsible for the life of man being solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short, which is a core thematic component of his work Leviathan. (Hobbes 78) Despite Agamben and Hobbes s shared notion that primitive behaviors fall outside the natural sphere of politics and are relatively negative, there is a strong case to be made for atavism s role in positive human sociopolitical structures. One such positive instance is familial structures. Although the concept of sovereignty can be expressed through the father figure and paternal subjugation, and the concept of bare life can be established philosphically by the figure of the mother and an individual s birth, it it nontheless true that human beings seek out families and attempt to live in concordance with their parents , siblings , and childrens needs and desires ... • 4. Description, Function, Attribution, and Analysis of a... The durability of clay has brought forth an immense abundance of Greek pottery, a craft mastered by Athenian artists. Archeologists have found hundreds of varieties in creation, shape, function, style, and artwork in Archaic vases. The museum has been blessed with one of these priceless artifacts; it is the duty of this establishment to accumulate as much data as possible surrounding the vase. In first identifying technique, dimensions, and condition, as well as describing shape, ornament, and figural scenery, one may then begin to analyze the vase. This serves the general purpose of understanding where the artifact stands in Greek culture and history. Through the examination and research of figural scenes, it is then possible to compare ... This centaur differs from the first in that he faces away from the viewer; his bare back is exposed, and in his right hand he grasps the front of the spear. However, his left arm is open, exposing the palm of his left hand. The third centaur is bearded and is shown in profile. Facing the humans to his left, he stands on his hind legs, recoils in defense, and holds his spear behind his head with both hands. His left hand grasps the front of the spear, and his right hand grasps the back of the spear. To his right there is a small insect like figure, with two sets of wing pairs protruding from its upper section and legs jutting from its lower section. Of the human figures, the first is male and faces the two centaurs to the left of the viewer. Also lunging forward, he plants his front foot as the heel of his back foot rises. His hair is shorter than that of the centaurs, and he holds the Boeotian variation of the hoplite shield that covers his mouth and chin. This shield is decorated with the outline of a turtle. The restored condition of the body leaves his clothing, or lack thereof, indistinguishable. It is also hard to discern whether he or the character to his right is holding a sword, which is short and points downward. The next figure, also human, lunges in the opposite direction. Oroonoko Slaughter of the Human Spirit Aphra Behn introduces her characters in Oroonoko as beautiful people who possess a pure, innocent love. Behn does this in an effort to make her readers feel and question. Her poetic description of their emotions magnify the horror of the final scene. Behn s romantic love story is brought to a tragic end through brutality and death. Why did she choose such an ending? Her decision to have Oroonoko take the life of his wife and unborn child leaves her audience questioning. Was what they had love? If not, what was it? What had killed their innocence? Tis a Notion commonly receiv d with us, That nothing can receive a Wound in the Heart and Live; but when the Heart of this courageous Animal was taken out, there were Seven Bullets of Lead in it, and the Wounds seem d up with great scars. (pg. 46) Just as Oroonoko killed this beast, slavery had killed Oroonoko. The tiger stands as a symbol of Oroonoko, a creature both fierce and fearful. Why is it that Oroonoko had finally lost his power? Why was he now fearful? Throughout the story, Oroonoko encounters many hardships. He loses his wife to the King, is convinced that the King has killed Imoinda, and is sold into slavery. However, through all this Oroonoko continues onward. He still has his hope and control. He still feels as though he has some power. He can determine his own future. He has a choice. Like the tiger, his heart had been struck with many bullets, but he continued to live. However, this strong man was not without weakness. His weakness was Imoinda. Her Griefs were so many Darts in the Great Heart of Oroonoko. He knew that he was going to die after leading the slave revolt. He couldn t stand the thought of leaving her behind. • 7. Effects Of Racial Bias On Multiracial Individuals Cognitive Psychology Essentialism and Racial Bias Jointly Contribute to the Categorization of Multiracial Individuals In the United States, racism and stereotype bias is an important issue that we still struggle with today and it impacts how we understand each other. Throughout U.S history, people that were mixed (part white and part black) were typically identified as Black. Arnold Ho, Susan Gelman and Steven Roberts, U M professors of psychology published a scientific article (Ho et al., 2015) looking into the cognitive backgrounds behind how an individual categorizes other individuals based on race. They performed studies on categorization on how we categorize multiracial individuals. The study combined research on racial existentialism, existentialism meaning ideals and negative bias in order to explain the difference in the way people categorize multiracial individuals as black over white . Their findings suggest that categorization biases, also known as hypodescent, influence how we categorize multiracial individuals. The study asserts that Black White multiracial individuals in the United States are categorized as Black (hypo descent categorization). The basis of this categorization is socially motivated. In essence, the interplay between the anti Black bias and psychological existentialism leads to hypo descent categorization. According to the authors, psychological essentialism is the belief that particular group members share common distinct characteristics ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Macchiarini grew a reputation as a star surgeon for his work involving ground breaking trachea transplants. He was viewed as a forerunner in the field of regenerative medicine using both synthetic and biological scaffolds as trachea transplants. The transplants were seeded with the patients own stem cells taken from bone marrow and placed in a machine where it rotated in a solution designed to encourage cell growth. • 10. Liam Carlos Williams Accomplishments Williams Carlos Williams once said, If they give you lined paper, write the other way. The meaning of his quote to many, is not to follow in everyone else s footsteps, but make a different path and make different footsteps. THis is why many see Williams as remarkable still to this day. In Williams s life, he faced many tragedies not only in his career but in his poetry as well. This can be verified in lines 5 6 and 12 13, where it states, muddy fields/ brown with dried weeds/ dead, brown leaves/ leafless vines . Many see this poem s speaker as an older man because he uses a small vocabulary when describing the dead, brown leaves in line 12. In line 1 2 it implies By the road to the contagious hospital/ under the surge of the blue . So in line two when it states under the surge of the blue in many people s eyes it looks like the poem is meant for an older generation because of the vast vocabulary the speaker uses. In the same poem Spring and All the attitude toward the subject of the poem that the speaker conveys is rough as they explain how the outside looks cold and uncertain before spring enters the new world. Evidence of this is in lines 16 19 where it says They enter the new world naked,/ cold, uncertain of all/ save that they enter. All about them/ the cold familiar wind . Many people would also say that the author wrote this poem to explain what spring looks like when approaching and how it looks like a disaster before spring blooms into the new world. The Progressive Era ( 1900-1919 ) The Progressive Era (1900 1919) presented solutions to the social, political, and economic changes in the United States of America which had surfaced in the framework of the rapid changes produced during the Industrial Revolution and the growth of modern capitalism in America. Many progressives believed that these changes marked the end of the old order and invited the beginning of a new era fit for the industrial age. Others believed that these changes marked a necessity for improvement rather than complete eradication. Regardless, American citizens utilized their ability to enrich social circumstances, both politically and morally, to guarantee social justice around 1865 1929. In a general sense, the conservative goals of this period substantiated the Liberal developments passed by Progressive leaders. Corresponding to the definition of conservatism, a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt change , the triumph of Conservatism existed in a sense that efforts were made to maintain established philosophies vital to an industrial social order. The Progressive leaders essentially wanted to perpetuate Liberal reform to bring upon general conservatism. Therefore, the 19th century can truly be defined by both the triumph of conservatism and the success of progressives. When one thinks of low income housing, one tends to think of section 8 and automatically invasions crime, unsanitary living conditions, and an overcrowded and loud environment. Why is this the natural assumption and vision one gets? The answer is because for many years low income housing has brought forth residents with high stress and desperate character. Communities with higher morale and fatter wallets reject the opportunity for low income families to live amongst there neighborhood, forcing low income development to be consistently established in the less desirable and high crime rate areas. What if we could hide/blend low income housing amongst a desirable neighborhood with new construction and more energy efficient designing? Recently, a group of East Pennsboro 8th grade students went to the Conodoguinet Creek in Acri Meadow Park to test it for pollution. The two main causes of water pollution are eutrophication and acid rain. Eutrophication is excessive richness of nutrients in a body of water, frequently due to runoff from land, which causes a dense growth of plant life and death of animal life from lack of oxygen. Acid rain is mainly caused by a chemical reaction that starts when compounds such as sulfur and nitrogen are released into the air. It can come in many forms such as rain, snow, and hail. Acidity is the level of acid in a substance and alkalinity is a measure of the capacity of solution to neutralize an acid. The pH scale goes from 0 to 14. A reading of 0 to 6 is an acid reading and a reading of 8 to 14 is an alkaline reading. For one of the acidity tests the students had to get a rock from the creek and pour acid on it. If the rock bubbles and makes a sizzling sound, then it neutralizes acid. Neutralizing means rendering something ineffective or harmless by applying an opposite force or effect. In this case, the acid is neutralizing the alkaline on the rock. Limestone neutralizes acid and sandstone doesn t. The show that the creek has a neutral pH of 7 and 69.1% of the rocks collected neutralize acid. Another test was an alkalinity test which shows that the creek has about 13 ppm. Colonial Indian Relations And The Impact On Colonization COLONIAL INDIAN RELATIONS AND THE IMPACT ON COLONIZATION Jacquelyn Henry University of Texas at Arlington HIST 1311 701: History of the United States to 1865 September 6, 2016 When discussing colonization, it is often asserted that European settlers contributed a variety of foreign changes, both negative and positive, to the local natives. Things such as plants, domesticated animals, advances in weaponry, European fashion, religion and foreign disease were just a few of the new concepts introduced to the Indians. It is easy to look at Europeans as vilified strangers in a new land taking that what does not belong to them, such as land, resources, and at times, even people. What if we were to look at things from a different perspective? What roles did the Indians play to impact the creation of the European colonies? Early relations amongst the natives and settlers exhibited a fluid balance of conflict and cooperation that facilitated, for both parties, economic opportunities based on trade, safety in the form of treaties and allies, and the potential gain of power. When establishing colonies, many Europeans did so on the premise that the new lands would provide a source of economic gain via flourishing crops, gainful resources, or sought after precious metals, and while this is true on some measures, another important source of revenue would come in the form of trade amongst the natives. With the influx of colonists came the new desire for foreign goods. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although rising the driving age could possibly have many pros, there also is very many cons to the situation. In my opinion, changing the driving age is a terrible idea because, when you turn 18 you go off to college and that would mean very inexperienced drivers leaving home for the first time, not everyone can rely on their parents to transport them around until they re legally considered adults, and finally being in high school is all about responsibilities and driving ... • 19. Emily Grierson Patriarchy Throughout the history of society, specifically during the years prior to the era of feminism, people have place women as the weaker gender. In literature , there have been many instances where women have been outshined and neglected by men because their works or contribution s are deemed to be inferior and noncompliant in the eyes of men. Men are seen as autocratic ruler of a household and thus they feel it s their responsibility to constantly overlook and protect women due to their inferiority that society has placed on them, as a result, men feel superior to women. Nevertheless, men are not mindful of the effects and outcomes of their patriarchal domination on women: depression, losing touch of reality, isolation, and worst of all, losing their sanity. An example in literature that displays this type of structure of society where women can become victims of patriarchal conditions takes place in the short stories A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner and The Yellowpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Both women, the main character Emily Grierson from Faulkner s story and the narrator from Gilman s story, though they have different circumstances, are similar in a unique way as they are both held back by the male figures in their households within the patriarchal society, and as a result, they lose touch within each of their societies and are forced to insanity. Feminists have described patriarchy as a system of oppression to women. Second wave feminists, who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Japanese had attacked the American military base at Pearl Harbor, which is near Oahu. The Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships, and more than 300 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and another 1,000 were wounded. This caused the US to enter WWII, as well as caused a fear on the West coast of the US because of the dense population of Japanese Americans that are found there. The status regarding Japanese Americans was changed rapidly after this event and they were thought to want to cause harm to the US because we declared war against the axis powers, which included Japan for revenge for Pearl Harbor. Approximately 2 months after Pearl Harbor was bombed, Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, which caused the relocation of these Japanese Americans into internment camps around the US located in places such as California, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado, and Arkansas. In my opinion, The internment of the Japanese Americans in camps was unconstitutional and immoral because you could not prove the threatening intentions that these Japanese people had towards the US. All cultures prescribe gender roles for males and females, but these roles differ greatly between one culture to another (Feldman, 2016, p. 190). The first time that Presley was really faced with gender related choices occurred just after she turned four years old. It was a typical gender related choice scenario about what toys to play with. She was trying to choose between playing with trucks, dolls, cooking toys or action figures. My partner and I made a choice to not inflict our ideas on her ideas but to offer her the information she would need to make informed choices. During WW I, a huge Imperial Russian army (estimated at 19 million soldiers and officers representing over 15% of the Russian population) had been fighting Germany on the Eastern front with little success. The Period Of The Edo Era During the Tokugawa era Noh continued to be an aristocratic art form supported by the shogun, the feudal aristocrats or daimyo, as well as several wealthy and more sophisticated commoners. While kabuki and joruri, popular to the middle class, focused on new and experimental entertainment, Noh strived to preserve its established high standards and historic authenticity and remained mostly unchanged throughout the era. To capture the essence of performances given by great masters, every detail in movements and positions is reproduced by others, generally resulting in an increasingly slow, ceremonial tempo. The fall of the Tokugawa shogunate in 1868 and the formation of a new government resulted in the end of financial support for Noh, and the entire field experienced major, financial crisis. Shortly after the Meiji Restoration, both the number of Noh performers and Noh stages greatly diminished for some time. The support from the imperial government was eventually regained due to Noh s appeal to foreign diplomats. • 32. The Character Of Don Giovanni Don Giovanni is the protagonist of one of the most famous Mozart s operas. Mozart s protagonist is based of the Spanish tale s character named Don Juan, a famous womanizer. According to Cambridge Dictionary, a hero is defined as a person admire for bravery, great achievements, or good qualities, [1] it can be said that Don Giovanni is brave, at his standards has some great achievements, and has some good qualities such as fearlessness, courage, and firm to his beliefs. One of the main reasons why some people label Don Giovanni as a villain is because at the beginning of the opera Donna Anna claims that Giovanni has raped her and then calls him a murder when he kills her father. When taken a closer look at those specific scenes, such claims are less credible. Instead of being afraid like a usual rape victim, she seems furious. The claim of rape gets even more questionable when Donna Anna s first recrimination is betrayer, instead of rapist. It gives the impression that she appears to be angry at the fact that he is leaving her. Describing Don Giovanni as a murder also seems to be inaccurate. It has to be clarified that killing someone in a duel is not a murder. Donna s father was the one who challenged Don Giovanni.
