Lying In The Truth For The Liar
Margaret Moran Dressen Hour 6 05/26/18
The Truth for the Liar Although lying is sometimes used as an easy way out of trouble or a quick save
from having to admit something you don t want to , lying and hiding things can actually ruin
relationships by leaving the receiver of the lie questioning why was it necessary to lie. In relationships
of all types, there is a mutual trust that is set between the two persons , that trust started off weak but
then over time developed into a wonderful relationship. A relationship needs to have trust in order to
completely flourish and have a long lasting friendship. According to Christine Hammond from

Lying is still a part of history that repeats itself , we have not learned yet that our government should
be honest and truthful with the entire population. Reflecting back on the 2 years since Donald Trump
has been elected , the lies do seem to follow him like a swarm of angry bees. Numerous amounts of
time there has been speculation regarding the validity of the things that Trump says. Trump has come
in contact with many significant problems that have played major roles in degrading his respect as a
president , whether that might be the trouble with stormy daniels , putin and the sexual accusations by
women who he had met. Trump really lowers his respect when he also makes racist remarks towards
many minorities in the United States which has also led him to be seen as the more unfavorable
president. How does that affect our country? The president of the United States should be considerate
for all of the world s people, these other countries must be looking at the United States thinking what
have we been doing. Back to the subject of lying , Donald Trump has so much money and is so
famous that often we just completely forget the wrongful things that he is capable of doing. If Trump
were more upfront and honest, we just might have a brighter

Essay On 80 s Culture
Culture of the 80s
The 1980s represented a change known as the glory days, something no one has seen since the 1920s.
The exciting fast paced lifestyle is what captured most americans hearts. Life in general brought
something new to society between new consumer goods and expanding cultures. In the end the 80s
brought music, dance, television, movies, famous figures, and literature that would forever shape
America.
Changes in music were inspired by social and political issues at the time. It was most definitely a
politically charged decade:cold war, unemployment, poverty in homes. Many artists used music as a
form of escapism and or to get a point across. In 1981 MTV launched its first music video, Video

Famous movies for kids were GI JOE, Smurfs, and Alvin and the Chipmunks. These films brought in
a large amount of revenue that companies decided to make action figures of their characters. Many
family sitcoms were made especially for the families such as, Growing Pains, Alf, The Cosby Show
and many more. Hollywood had plenty of money from 1980s movies, but they wanted to convert
americans money into cold, hard cash. The most famous 80s classic movies were The Little Mermaid
and The Color Purple. Writers and producers new just how to make something from scratch and turn it
into a masterpiece for everyone to enjoy and love.
Famous political and social figures were very important in their 80s because they sculpted the culture
in today s era. Sticking through scandal and triumph, tragedy and joy, we re left with a decade full of
memorable figures, some of which have broken through the millennium barrier and are still with us
today. (Pia Sooney) Movie star icon, Tom Cruise won many awards, starred in many movies and
influenced society with his hollywood face. The political figures were Jimmy Carter, George Bush,
and Ronald Reagan. Each of these presidents helped the crisis that america had been in from the cold

Oral Tradition And Oral Traditions
Imagine being able to tell stories for generations to come without ever having to write down a single
word. Oral tradition is used to pass stories down from generation to generation through different forms
of communication without any writing system. Oral tradition stories are told by word of mouth,
riddles, storytelling, and songs. It cannot be changed although the narrator might embellish it. Oral
tradition is how Africans perceived the past. The significance of oral Tradition is due to the stories
holding so much information and knowledge. Oral tradition contributed to understanding pre colonial
history because the pre colonial Africa was influenced by two major movements which are the
expansion of islam and the dispersion of the bantu. Oral tradition gave us the perspective as to why the
expansion and dispersion took place. Oral tradition has its strengths and weaknesses. A strength of oral
tradition is that it is being told from word of mouth and more people will listen to a good storyteller
than to go read a book about the history. However, a weakness of oral tradition is that many of the
stories get forgotten, left out, or embellished. With each re telling the story gets further and further
away from the original. Oral tradition is a primary way of conveying culture and is a way of life in
African history.
Oral traditions are historical traditions passed down by word of mouth from one generation to another
without written instruction. Oral tradition was used during

Ipl Business Model
IPL
The Indian Premier League is a T20 cricket competition promoted by the BCCI and is modelled on the
same lines as football s EPL or basketball s NBA. It works on franchise system wherein the teams
(presently 8; going up to 10 from the next season) representing different cities are auctioned and the
highest bidder is awarded the rights to own and run the team for ten years.
Over a span of just three years, it has become a business phenomenon, even overshadowing what it
stands for, that is cricket, involving leading business groups, bollywood stars and the entire nation
alike.
IPL as a business model has following major stakeholders:

expense the franchises entail is on account of running and maintaining the teams.
Apart from the above mentioned, a franchise may earn or lose some money during the buying or
selling of players among franchises.
Sponsors inflow: No direct revenue generated through IPL.
Sponsors outflow: Sponsors have a lot as stake as top of the line slots can go for up to $17k per spot.

These are specific effects of window film proposed by them; 1. One square meter of a low e wood
window, the type with the smallest carbon footprint, has a carbon cost of 253 kilograms. The carbon
cost of Solar Gard window film is less than one kilogram per square meter. 2. Solar Gard window film
saves 1001 times more GHG emissions from entering the atmosphere than is used and/or created

the well known factors that are blamed for the global warming. The famous Kyoto Protocol was

Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg
For the love of Money,
People will steal from their brothers,
For the love of money,

People who don t have money

The O Jays
After reading quot; The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg, quot; by Mark Twain, the (above) song
quot; For The Love of Money, quot; by the r amp;b singing group The O Jays resounded fervently in
my head. The song s ongoing message of the ill affects money can have on a person almost parallels
that of Twain s brilliant story of vanity, greed, revenge, and honesty, or should I say dishonesty. The
story displays how much an entire town is willing to forsake in order to obtain that which has been

Vain beyond imagination. quot; (Perkins 379) Although there are other numerous examples that I can
pull from to describe the character of Hadleyburg, none do more to exemplify its character than the
following passage: quot;...this town s honesty is as rotten as mine is; as rotten as yours. It is a mean
town, a hard stingy town, and hasn t a virtue in the world but this honesty it is so celebrated for and so
conceited about... quot; (Perkins 378)
The next example of characterization used by Twain to support the theme of the story comes through
the character of the stranger. Even though the speaker of the story doesn t reveal much about the
stranger, we know that he is a very important character in the work primarily because he sets up the
corruption plot of the story. We know little else about his character besides what we find out in the
beginning of the story when the town offends him in some way that, for what ever reason, the author
chose to leave out of the story. quot;...Hadleyburg had the ill luck of offending a passing stranger...it
would have been well to make an exception in this one s case, for he was a bitter man and revengeful.
quot; (Perkins 372) While this passage lets us know that the stranger is revengeful and bitter, it leaves
us still with little else to go on in terms of his character. We also find out toward the end of the story
that the stranger, whose name might have been Howard L. Stephenson, could

The Presidential Election Of 1980 Essay
On Tuesday, 4 November 1980, The United States presidential election of 1980 was held. The
competition was between incumbent Democratic President Jimmy Carter and his opponent, former
Californian Republican Governor, Ronald Reagan. Reagan, assisted by a falling economy complicated
by inflation and high unemployment, and the Iran hostage crisis, Reagan would win the election in a
sweep, receiving the largest number of electoral votes ever tallied by a presidential candidate not
currently in office. Jimmy Carter, who beat out Edward M. Kennedy for the nomination for
Democratic leader, attacked Reagan as a wild right wing fundamentalist. The former actor, Ronald
Reagan pledged to elevate the cynical mood of the nation, and won a conclusive victory. This election
marked the creation of what was called the Reagan Revolution, and indicated a conservative
repositioning in national government.
Throughout the 1970s, the United States underwent a wrenching period of low economic growth, high
inflation and interest rates, and intermittent energy crises. In the spring and summer of 1979, inflation
was on the rise and various parts of the United States were experiencing energy shortages, Carter was
widely blamed and planned on delivering a major speech about energy conservation, but he thought
the American public did not care for what he had to say. In the mist of all this, Carter went on the
presidential retreat for the bilateral treaty on Camp David. For more than a week, a

Analysis Of Brent Hartinger s The
Author Brent Hartinger has written an interesting novel that explores the duality of man in reference
to an individual s outward appearance compared to their inward appearance. A strong point of this
novel is Middlebrow s willingness to explore new and exciting things, such as going The Geography
Club A.K.A (The Gay Straight Alliance). A weak point of this novel is when Middlebrow meets
random strangers online and engages in sexual activity. Teen s who are searching for their own
identity may find Middlebrow s tale of not only discovering himself, but elevating himself extremely
interesting. The plot of two teens hiding not only their true identity, but an entire Gay Straight Alliance
club from their outside world, until they are labeled outcasts, proves to be the most interesting aspect
of this novel. Although there are numerous good role models within this novel, I believe that Min s
selfless actions of forming the The Geography Club to offer a safe haven for homosexual students
establish her as the novel s true role model. Since this novel deals with heavy drinking and extreme
sexuality exploration, this novel should only be read by fifteen year olds to adults.

What is Self Image?
A person s self image can depend on many factors, to include internal/external and perceived/actual.
Their answer when asked What do you believe people think about you? can provide a very succinct
view of their self image and possibly how it is formed. The concept of self is derived from many traits
usually perceived as demographic information (gender, height, weight, race, etc.) but also other less
measurable components such as personal experiences or internalized judgements from others.
Self image may consist of three types:
1. Self image resulting from how the individual sees himself or herself.
2. Self image resulting from how others see the individual.
3. Self image resulting from how the individual perceives others see him or her.
These three types may or may not be an accurate representation of the person. All, some or none of
them may be true.
Cognitive and social psychologists have given self image a more technical term self schema which
refers to a summary of a person s beliefs, experiences and generalizations about the self. Self schema
is based on many aspects including personal interests, traits and physical characteristics.
Victim mentality
Victims of abuse and manipulation often get trapped into a self image of victimization. The
psychological profile of victimization includes a pervasive sense of helplessness, passivity, loss of
control,

Exploration Of The Clarity Of Nature In Jon Krakauer s...
Postadolescent fog: Krakauer s Exploration of the Clarity of Nature in Into the Wild In the novel Into
the Wild, Jon Krakauer examines many of the theories relating to as why the protagonist, Chris
McCandless decided to venture into the Alaska wilderness. In doing so, he reflects upon his
motivation to climb as well as how his childhood affected these motivations. Krakauer describes this
awkward phase in his life as a thick postadolescent fog (134). While it seems ordinary for someone to
go through this transitional period in which they are entering the threshold of adulthood, the way in
which Krakauer overcomes it is not ordinary. He turns to mountain climbing as a form of escapism
and uses nature as a coping mechanism. Krakauer s reassurance from the effects of climbing is
important because it reveals a reliance on the purity of nature and it s freedom from external opinions.
In response to the claims of McCandless s Alaskan journey being a suicide mission, Krakauer reflects
upon the speculations of McCandless s decisions through a more personal lens. Krakauer finds
resemblance among himself and McCandless through their aversion towards their own parental
figures. While reflecting on these late teenage years, Krakauer describes his postadolescent as a
thick...fog, and he has many implications behind this description (134). Fog hinders the visibility of a
person and makes it challenging to see into the distance. By using the metaphor of the fog, Krakauer
indicates

Constitutional Policing
The Fourth Amendment of the Constitution states:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable
search and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause,
supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched and the persons

This precedent later became known as the fruit of the poisonous tree doctrine, and is an extension of
the exclusionary rule. Mapp v. Ohio, was a landmark case in criminal procedure, in which the United
States Supreme Court decided that evidence obtained in violation of the Fourth Amendment, which
protects against unreasonable searches and seizures, may not be used in state law criminal
prosecutions in state courts, as well, as had previously been the law, as in federal criminal law
prosecutions in federal courts. The Supreme Court accomplished this by use of a principle known as
selective incorporation; in this case this involved the incorporation of the provisions, as construed by
the Court, of the Fourth Amendment which are literally applicable only to actions of the federal
government into the Fourteenth Amendment due process clause which is literally applicable to actions
of the states. On May 23, 1957, police officers in a Cleveland, Ohio suburb received information that a
suspect in a bombing case, as well as some illegal betting equipment, might be found in the home of
Dollree Mapp. Three officers went to the home and asked for permission to enter, but Mapp refused to
admit them without a search warrant. Two officers left, and one remained. Three hours later, the two

also several other factors that have to be considered such as the Assassination of Archduke Franz

Problems Associated With Mobile Phones
Abstract There is a very huge substantial increase in the mobile computers user. There is a very huge
substantial increase in the mobile computer users. There is a necessity to maintain continuous
connectivity between host and the user. Mobile IP is a standard protocol, which allows the mobile
device users to move from one network to another network. The protocol performs three functions:
Agent Discovery, Registration, Tunneling, and Reverse Tunneling. This paper will discuss these four
component protocols in detail and speaks about various terms involved with mobile IP such as Agent
advertisement, correspondent node, link, link layer address, mobility binding, mobility security
association, security parameters index, tunnel, etc. In addition, the paper will also discuss about few
issues in mobile IP concerning security in the network, multicast of packets, route optimization.

Causes Of Hepatitis C
Hepatitis C is a form of liver inflammation caused by the hepacivirus, a member of the Flaviviridae
family. It is a highly infectious blood born disease most commonly transmitted by shared needles
among drug users. According to the CDC it affects approximately 3.9 million Americans and
unfortunately 2.7 million of those individuals are chronically infected. Because the signs and
symptoms may not appear sometimes for up to 20 30 years, many people may die from the chronic
illness as the disease has a higher treatment response in the acute stages. Along with shared needles,
other routes of transmission include tattooing, body piercing, needle sticks in health care setting, and
parental infections during pregnancy and child birth. Uncommonly, transmission can occur through
intercourse with an infected person or sharing personal items, such as razors or toothbrushes, that may
have infected blood on them. There has been question whether breast milk can cause infection,
however, there is currently no evidence of this. Many people may not know they are infected since it
can take years for symptoms to appear and the majority of signs and symptoms typically are related to
other conditions such as stress or influenza. Fever, fatigue, malaise, anorexia, nausea and vomiting,

Encryption Is The Mechanism Of Encoding Data
In a VPN, computers at the ends of the tunnel encrypt data entering the tunnel and decrypt data at the
other end. Encryption is the mechanism of encoding data so that only a device with the correct
decoder will know how to read and use it. Over time, new and better technologies have been
developed to use in networks, which improves the characteristics of VPNs. However, VPN specific
technologies like tunneling protocols, haven t changed much, because current VPNs do an excellent
job at keeping businesses globally connected, with a high level of security. Flexible working
Geographical barriers of companies can be erased with the implementation of VPN. This will enable
employees to work efficiently from home and allow businesses to connect securely with its vendors
and partners. Many organisations started by establishing intranets, which are private internal networks
designed for use only by company employees. By adding a VPN, a business can extend all its intranet
s resources to employees working from remote offices or their homes. Scalability Well designed VPNs
are extensible and scalable. The technology allows its adopters to use an easy to access Internet
infrastructure that grants new users to be added to the network quickly and with no hassle. This means
that organisations are able to acquire large amounts of capacity and usage with adding little or none
additional infrastructure. VPN can in fact expand to accommodate more users and different locations

Extensive Wait Times for Surgeries
Canada s health care system assures universality, portability, and accessibility; disappointingly, not all
Canadians have access to specialists and facilities. Many patients face long wait times or do not have
access to anesthetic and surgical care because the inadequate supply of anaesthesiologists for demand
of Canada s aging population. For instance, a woman experiencing severe pain in her right lower
abdomen may endure excessive wait time to receive pain relief and life saving care. However, surgical

Despite government promises, and the billions of dollars funnelled into the Canadian healthcare
system, the average wait time for surgeries in Ontario is approximately 14.3 weeks (Barua, Rovere

Waste of Tax Dollars
Moreover, hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars are wasted since many Canadians do not have

Could A Machine Be Conscious
1 Could a machine be conscious? This question is often dismissed as simple by those that would say
yes in response. The usual claim made by the pro camp is that man is a biological machine and is
conscious, ergo, a machine is conscious. If we, humans, are truly biological machines and we are at
the same time conscious then I would agree that yes, categorically, a machine could be conscious. But
is it really that simple? I contend that it is a more difficult problem but not that it is a complicated one,
merely one of ambiguity which, once resolved, leads the contemplator to the same conclusion as I do
that in fact, no, a machine could not be conscious. I propose that those who argue the yes case that a

They are all actions definable in their own right, which, I contend need not be sub categories of, or
allocated to the definition of consciousness and, unlike the hard problem of consciousness which we
will come to shortly, they can be explained by science in a physical context and therefore be
impersonated by machinery. They have physical qualities which are an important distinction in the 3
concept of Artificial Intelligence which claims the ability of machines to achieve consciousness,
arising in theory out of intelligence. The most prominent example of the concept of a machine being
intelligent in the manner of this so called consciousness is the Turing test (Turing, 1950) which, rather
tellingly, was originally called the Imitation Game . The test was designed to see if a machine could
fool a human into thinking it was itself another human, and although somewhat successful with Eliza
(Weizenbaum 1976), the premise was quickly, and I opine correctly, attacked by Searle (1980:417 57)
in his Chinese Room thought experiment, proving that a machine can simulate communication
without understanding and is therefore not thinking in the way humans, or perhaps other living things
do. Humans exhibit the ability to pass tests without understanding the material and, I contend, this is
what a machine simulates, the function of memory, not intelligence. Even if it could fool a

Attack on the Marine Corps Barracks in Beirut
Attack on the Marine Corps Barracks in Beirut Section I On October 23, 1983, a massive explosion
from a 19 ton truck full of explosives attacked military barracks and killed 241 servicemen (including
220 U.S. Marines) in Beirut, Lebanon. The blast was the biggest known non nuclear explosion since
World War II and was the bloodiest day since Iowa Jima, according to Rick Hampson writing in USA
Today. The Marines had been sent to Lebanon as peace keepers, trying to bring some peace to a civil
war that was ongoing in Lebanon. Military observers subsequent to that horrific event have suggested
that this terrorist assault was the beginning of the reign of terror that radical Islamic would continue to

American servicemen was ...a seminal moment on a timeline that led to the 9/11 attacks, to the war the
U.S. waged in Afghanistan (Hampson, 2008). Moreover, Hampson notes that this attack drove the

The company s total debt is in the billions, which was gained because of a buyout in two thousand and
five. Repaying that debt has become increasingly difficult because business has been declining.
Boomey, (2017) states: Toys R Us recently had to shut down some of its stores and let go some of its
corporate employees. The company s competition, which includes Amazon and Walmart have had an
advantage over Toys R Us because they mark down toy prices to attract their customers. But the
competition was only part of their problem. The main cause of the company s debt was the inability to
transform its company digitally. In 2009, the company s e commerce sales amounted to only 4%. The
company s failure to properly set up a digital strategy was their main downfall (Lashinsky, 2017).

Abstract
There is no way to tell of the thousands of people that have been executed, which were innocent.
Since 1973 more than 150 people have been released from prison with evidence of innocence. Studies
have shown that the death penalty has zero to no effect on violent crimes, and it is an amazing waste
of taxpaying money. They were wrongfully imprisoned due to mistaken eyewitness testimony, faulty
forensic science, and false confession as a result of wrongdoing by the police and finally racial biased.
That was just a minimal list of reasons a case could go wrong. There are many reasons why someone
would be against the death penalty. For example, there are strong religious beliefs that one might have,
the death penalty is and expression of the absolute power of the state. As of October 2015 there have
been over 1,414 individuals in this country alone lethally executed. In the issue of the death penalty it
all goes back to whether the death penalty deters future crime. I feel that one solution to this issue
would be to get rid of the death penalty altogether.
Keywords: death penalty, execution, prison, innocent.

The State Of The Texas Education Policy
The current state of the Texas education policy is very complex and its roots can be traced all the way
back to times were there was no equality in the public school system, we can even say it can be traced
as far back to the state s split from Mexico. This was a very problematic situation that began to be
reformed heavily starting in 1954. The legislations that passed to resolve this problem have morphed
the Texas Public education policy into what it is today.
It was because of the split from Mexico that Texas created the Constitution of the Republic of Texas,
which included a clause in it that established a public school system, but it wasn t successful in

While the Texas public school system may not be segregated now it took a lot of court cases to get

Sacrifice In Lucy
Truth has always been preposterous for the worldly wise. Those who engage themselves with a quest
for truth have never been accepted by the world and have been alienated and even put to death. The
life and death of Jesus Christ is an example. The great men like Galileo Galeilei, the renowned
astronomer, and Michael Servetus, the theologian and the first European to correctly describe blood
circulation between heart and lungs, met with almost the same fate. The Hollywood movie Lucy
portrays a similar character whose acquiring of the ultimate knowledge results in her dispersal into the
universe putting an end to her existence as a human being. The paper is an in depth examination of the
life and death of Jesus Christ, born in 6 BC, and Lucy, the heroine of a 21st century Hollywood movie

according to God s holy vow (Milestones). The commitment is from now on, it is for life and the only

Marriages are based on love, they talk about love for one another as Jesus said I give you a new

someone one must be able to completely forgive them, just as Jesus forgave Peter for denying him

What a Story Reveals about the Story Teller Essay
Geoffrey Chaucer wrote the Canterbury Tales from the view of a pilgrim journeying with many other
travelers who all had tales to tell. I believe that the stories told by the characters in Chaucer s book
gives us insight into the individual spinning the tale as well as Chaucer as the inventor of these
characters and author of their stories. There are three main characters whose stories I will be using as
examples: The Knight s Tale, The Miller s Tale, and The Wife of Bath s Tale.
The knight told a tale of love, bravery, chivalry, justice, romance, and adventure. His story included
two cousins and sworn brothers, Palamon and Arcite, who were both enraptured by the love of one
woman, Emily. Emily was related to king Theseus who had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Secondly, it tells us his idea of bravery and devotion. Palamon and Arcite were not willing to give up
Emily to the other, although they had been great friends. The devotion lies not in their friendship, but
in their love of Emily. Likewise, the knight himself had left all to nobly fight for his cause; and still
had such devotion to his faith to join the pilgrimage. With smudges where his armour had left mark;
Just home from service, he had joined our ranks To do his pilgrimage and render thanks (The
Canterbury Tales, p.5). Thirdly, it shows us the knight s ideas of fortune and justice. I believe the
knight was optimistic in a practical sense. He viewed Fortune as a beneficial force of justice which is
reflected in his happy ending of the tale. Although he had a realistic note of sadness, the overall
outcome was good. All the characters prayed to different gods, and all got what they asked for.
Although Arcite wins Emily, he dies before he can claim her and she is later married to Palamon.
Lastly, the tale was constructed with such length and wordiness to convey the intelligence and
education of the speaker the Knight.
This story tells me that Chaucer holds the knight in high regard. As the creator of this character and
his tale, he displays his fondness of the characteristics which he attributes to the knight. Chaucer uses
many great adjectives to describe the knight in the general

Although they viewed life as short, one has to remember that Ecclesiastes reminds the readers that
there is something after death. Throughout Ecclesiastes, the theme of enjoyment in life without God
points to emptiness. The author of Ecclesiastes is suggesting that an enjoyable life without God is
vanity. Whereas, the Harper s Song does not mention or refer to any gods or to God. It is only
concerned with man s earthly life; it is not concern with one s spiritual life with God unlike the Book
of Ecclesiastes. Ecclesiastes mentions that no one can escapes God s judgment (Ecclesiastes 11:9).

Walt Disneyland Informative Speech
Walt Disney came up with the idea of Disneyland while watching his daughters play on the carrousel
at Griffith Park. The very bench that he envisioned Disneyland on can be found inside the park on
Main Street. The Happiest Place on Earth opened on July 17, 1955. The grand opening of Disneyland
was a complete disaster.
Opening day was supposed to be invitation only. However, many people forged and counterfeited the
tickets. About 30,000 people squeezed through the gates that day.
Nowadays, the park sees hundreds of thousands of people visiting the park each week. The park,
opening with only 18 attractions, was not able to cater to so many people. With the amount of people
sneaking in, food carts and restaurants all ran out of food and over ... Show more content on

Only they are not speakers, they are Smellitzers. They spray out scents such as vanilla or peppermint
to draw you into the shops. The Smellitzers are also used on some rides and attractions to make the
experience seem more realistic.
Walt wanted the park to be spotless at all times and wanted the guests to only see the magical side of
Disneyland. He and The Imagineers created their own color called Go Away Green that they used to
paint the wall around Disneyland, gates, and any unsightly equipment behind attractions. The idea was
that the color is so neutral, that it would go unnoticed by the common eye. The door to Club 33 is also
painted this color.
As Walt Disney said in his speech on opening day, To all who come to this happy place; welcome.
Disneyland is your land. Whether it comes to making your Disneyland experience as realistic as
possible or to the eerie souls that supposedly roam around the park, Walt Disney set out to please all of
his guests and cast members. Each secret of Disneyland was created for a specific reason by Walt
himself, some explained and some will never be known. The secrets live on even after Walt has

The Victoria and Albert Museum created many different ways to interact with the visitors. First, they
created their website to be easily navigated and created interactive exercises such as Design a Wig to
promote their exhibitions. By visitors having fun with creating a wig, it builds anticipation on their
visit and creates more reason to visit the museum. At the museum itself, visitors will be met with the

Gold Rush Negative Effects
Thousands of people migrating west, new opportunities coming their way, heading towards the gold
found in San Francisco. After gold found in the state of California, thousands of people came over
there to mine the gold and get rich, making the Gold Rush largest migration in world history. So many
people came to California that the state became the most diverse state in the United States. Although
there were positive attributes to the Gold Rush, the Gold Rush mostly had a negative effect on
America because of the harsh journey and the ruined landscape.
To begin, the rough journey to migrate west certainly negatively affected the United States of
America. While the american citizens were traveling to the west for gold, an extreme cholera outbreak
developed due to the unsanitary conditions that the migrants had to deal with (Gillon 65). These
people were not at their home where they have supplies and cleaning equipment; they were living in
tents where they had no access to anything like a broom to sweep the floor. If someone got dirty or
sick, they couldn t do anything about other than wash up in the river, which would worsen the cholera
outbreak. A Native American described the scene as a solid mass of wagons and men digging graves
on each side of the river; men dying in their wagons, hallooing and crying and cramping from cholera,
women screaming and hallooing and praying (Gillon 65). Because of the filthy conditions, many
people were screaming and dying from cholera. These people are putting up with so much pain just to
get some gold, which they may not live to see. Hence, because of the long, harsh journey with foul

Integrating Special Education Children
Disadvantages of Integrating Special Education Children in Regular Classrooms Few topics have as
much controversy as inclusion of children with special needs in regular classrooms. Few professionals
question the appropriateness of inclusion of students with disabilities in regular classes. However,
significant debate about which students should form part of the general education classes and the time
they should spend in those classes persists. This has led to two groups, one for, and the other against
inclusion. There are those who think that all students belong to regular education. This group claims
that all students have a right to attend school with their peers and this can only occur within a single
system where all students form the learning community. Secondly, the group claims that all students
can benefit from education through supportive learning in inclusive settings. Third, they cite stigma as
unfavorable to the children s welfare. Lastly, they observe that the approaches used in special classes
do not significantly differ from those used in regular classes (Zwaagstra et al. 13). Conversely, the
other group believes that only students who meet certain standards should be included in regular
classes. The group supports inclusion only under unique conditions. This group observes in regular
classrooms instructors cannot offer some of the services that students with disabilities need.
Additionally, they claim that instructors in regular classrooms may lack the

Beauvoir Second Sex Analysis
The Second Sex is one of the earliest attempts to confront human history from a feminist perspective.
It won de Beauvoir many admirers and just as many detractors. Today, many regard this massive and
meticulously researched masterwork as not only as pillar of feminist thought but of twentieth century
philosophy in general. It remains to this day one of the foundational texts in philosophy, feminism,
and women s studies. De Beauvoir s primary thesis is that men fundamentally oppress women by
characterizing them, on every level, as the Other, defined exclusively in opposition to men. Man
occupies the role of the self, or subject; woman is the object, the other. He is essential, absolute, and
transcendent. She is inessential, incomplete, and mutilated. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Elements In Frankenstein

and the supernatural to convey points across to the readers. Many of these elements are incorporated
in the novel Frankenstein. This novel is about a scientist named Frankenstein who creates a living
being from dead body parts. The creature is hated by mankind and decides to take revenge upon
Frankenstein and his loved ones. The novel Frankenstein written by Mary Shelley has qualities of a

The monster is constantly getting rejected by society because of his distorted appearance. For
example, At that instant the cottage door was opened, and Felix, Safie, and Agatha entered. Who can
describe their horror and consternation on beholding me? Agatha fainted; and Safie, unable to attend
to her friend, rushed out of the cottage. Felix darted forward, and with supernatural force tore me from
his father, to whose knees I clung... ( Shelley 134). This scene is just part of many rejections the
monster has to endure. Society summarizes his characteristic by his outer appearance, so individuals
assume that the monster is evil. From this moment on, the monster realize that there is no place in
society for him. Thus he turns evil and commits acts of revenge upon his creator. Furthermore, this
topic is elaborately discussed in more detail by a book called Mary Shelley s Wedding Guest written
by Lowe Evans. The author states A motherless, self educated, close observer of human behavior, the
Creature has been rejected by his father and desperately seeks an intimate, enduring relationship with
sympathetic beings (Lowe Evans 53). All of the events that occurred in the story are greatly influenced
by the creator s attitude towards the creature. After being rejected by his own creator, the monster tries
everything he can do to prove that he is an innocent being. However, no matter what he does,
everyone just seems to assume that he is a terrible being existing on Earth only to bring devastation. In
the end, these rejections are the main cause of the creature s

In the field of medicine, the technology has the potential to increase precision and improve the overall
effectiveness of surgical procedures. Some researchers are even studying applications in tissue
engineering such as printing complex cell patterns or organs. As the market continues to mature, look
for well established companies to explore business opportunities in the 3D printing market. The
emergence of large, blue chip players like General Electric (GE) and Ford (F) in the past year further
legitimizes the recent trend in additive manufacturing. General Electric s big bet on 3D printings
intends to support its efforts to grow as a digital industrial company whereas Ford hopes to print low
cost automotive parts at scale. An aggressive push into 3D printing can help revive top and bottom
line performance at a time where both companies have struggled to lift shareholder value. Other
functions of 3D printing range from mass producing footwear, which traditionally relies on low cost
labor in third world countries, to constructing a home. Earlier this year a new robot from MIT built a
dome like structure spanning 50 feet wide and 12 feet high in less than 14 hours. The 3D technology
allowed for faster, cheaper and more adaptable construction, but the long term vision for the project is
to build on Mars. Printing in three dimensions introduces a wealth of opportunities with a broad set of
applications, but one

Symbolism within in A Worn Path
Symbolism is a literary device that uses objects or events that hides the even greater idea beyond what
the text it gives you. For example, the bald eagle may seem like a fascinating bird, but to the eyes of
an American the bald eagle represents freedom. Symbolism can be found throughout our everyday
lives. Shoes have logos that are used to show what brand of shoes ones self is wearing, also money
may seem like just paper, but it can also represent power.
In the short story, A Worn Path, the main character Phoenix Jackson ventures through the forest to get
to her main destination Natchez. Phoenix Jackson is an old, little woman that is blind and needs to be
carrying a cane due to her almost complete blindness. Phoenix Jackson travels through the dangerous
forest alone. On her venture she meets many obstacles such as a crossing a river by walking over a log
that lay across it. During her advances she often drifts into a daydream and dreams about events
happening, but it turns out to be her mind playing games on her. While on her way to Natchez she
encounters a white hunter, the hunter shows no respect for her by calling her granny and even pointing
a gun at old Phoenix herself. During Phoenix s time of living segregation was still prevalent because
in the short story Phoenix makes her way in Natchez and the Anglo Americans call her names such as:
Granny, Grandma, and Old Timer. After making it through the city, Phoenix enters a building that

The World s Largest Religion
Introduction
Christianity is the world s largest religion in number of adherents, accounting to more than 2.1 billion
(around 31.4% as of 2015) and geographical spread in almost every country in the world, there is at
least one Christian community (Green ,2015).
The former religion of the Romans was polytheism based and could not give comfort to the destitute.
The many Gods and Goddesses did not lend themselves to the idea of equality and salvation.
Christianity proclaimed the equality of all people. People were considered equal in Christianity and
the Christian God was the unquestioned authority. This God did not share a pantheon with others, he
was the one and only. The new religion rejected the existing social system of slavery, and thus gave
rise to hope of liberation from oppression of the most desperate people. The religion called for the
reconstruction of the world. It gave hope to slaves, hope for freedom to common people through a
simple and accessible way through the adoption of the doctrine of Christ (Adair, 2008, pp.18 19).
Initially, Christianity spread among the Jews of Palestine and the Mediterranean diaspora of the Jews.
But starting from the first decades, especially through the work of the Apostle Paul, it has acquired a
large number of followers among other nations (Adair, 2008, p.19).

According to the doctrine of Christianity, God is an original entity and a predecessor of the whole

  • 2. Lying In The Truth For The Liar Margaret Moran Dressen Hour 6 05/26/18 The Truth for the Liar Although lying is sometimes used as an easy way out of trouble or a quick save from having to admit something you don t want to , lying and hiding things can actually ruin relationships by leaving the receiver of the lie questioning why was it necessary to lie. In relationships of all types, there is a mutual trust that is set between the two persons , that trust started off weak but then over time developed into a wonderful relationship. A relationship needs to have trust in order to completely flourish and have a long lasting friendship. According to Christine Hammond from psychcentral.com ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lying is still a part of history that repeats itself , we have not learned yet that our government should be honest and truthful with the entire population. Reflecting back on the 2 years since Donald Trump has been elected , the lies do seem to follow him like a swarm of angry bees. Numerous amounts of time there has been speculation regarding the validity of the things that Trump says. Trump has come in contact with many significant problems that have played major roles in degrading his respect as a president , whether that might be the trouble with stormy daniels , putin and the sexual accusations by women who he had met. Trump really lowers his respect when he also makes racist remarks towards many minorities in the United States which has also led him to be seen as the more unfavorable president. How does that affect our country? The president of the United States should be considerate for all of the world s people, these other countries must be looking at the United States thinking what have we been doing. Back to the subject of lying , Donald Trump has so much money and is so famous that often we just completely forget the wrongful things that he is capable of doing. If Trump were more upfront and honest, we just might have a brighter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay On 80 s Culture Culture of the 80s The 1980s represented a change known as the glory days, something no one has seen since the 1920s. The exciting fast paced lifestyle is what captured most americans hearts. Life in general brought something new to society between new consumer goods and expanding cultures. In the end the 80s brought music, dance, television, movies, famous figures, and literature that would forever shape America. Changes in music were inspired by social and political issues at the time. It was most definitely a politically charged decade:cold war, unemployment, poverty in homes. Many artists used music as a form of escapism and or to get a point across. In 1981 MTV launched its first music video, Video Killed the Radio Star by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Oral Tradition And Oral Traditions Imagine being able to tell stories for generations to come without ever having to write down a single word. Oral tradition is used to pass stories down from generation to generation through different forms of communication without any writing system. Oral tradition stories are told by word of mouth, riddles, storytelling, and songs. It cannot be changed although the narrator might embellish it. Oral tradition is how Africans perceived the past. The significance of oral Tradition is due to the stories holding so much information and knowledge. Oral tradition contributed to understanding pre colonial history because the pre colonial Africa was influenced by two major movements which are the expansion of islam and the dispersion of the bantu. Oral tradition gave us the perspective as to why the expansion and dispersion took place. Oral tradition has its strengths and weaknesses. A strength of oral tradition is that it is being told from word of mouth and more people will listen to a good storyteller than to go read a book about the history. However, a weakness of oral tradition is that many of the stories get forgotten, left out, or embellished. With each re telling the story gets further and further away from the original. Oral tradition is a primary way of conveying culture and is a way of life in African history. The O Jays After reading quot; The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg, quot; by Mark Twain, the (above) song quot; For The Love of Money, quot; by the r amp;b singing group The O Jays resounded fervently in my head. The song s ongoing message of the ill affects money can have on a person almost parallels that of Twain s brilliant story of vanity, greed, revenge, and honesty, or should I say dishonesty. Vain beyond imagination. quot; (Perkins 379) Although there are other numerous examples that I can pull from to describe the character of Hadleyburg, none do more to exemplify its character than the following passage: quot;...this town s honesty is as rotten as mine is; as rotten as yours. It is a mean town, a hard stingy town, and hasn t a virtue in the world but this honesty it is so celebrated for and so conceited about... quot; (Perkins 378) The next example of characterization used by Twain to support the theme of the story comes through the character of the stranger. Even though the speaker of the story doesn t reveal much about the stranger, we know that he is a very important character in the work primarily because he sets up the corruption plot of the story. We know little else about his character besides what we find out in the beginning of the story when the town offends him in some way that, for what ever reason, the author chose to leave out of the story. quot;...Hadleyburg had the ill luck of offending a passing stranger...it would have been well to make an exception in this one s case, for he was a bitter man and revengeful. quot; (Perkins 372) While this passage lets us know that the stranger is revengeful and bitter, it leaves us still with little else to go on in terms of his character. • 8. The Presidential Election Of 1980 Essay On Tuesday, 4 November 1980, The United States presidential election of 1980 was held. The competition was between incumbent Democratic President Jimmy Carter and his opponent, former Californian Republican Governor, Ronald Reagan. Reagan, assisted by a falling economy complicated by inflation and high unemployment, and the Iran hostage crisis, Reagan would win the election in a sweep, receiving the largest number of electoral votes ever tallied by a presidential candidate not currently in office. Jimmy Carter, who beat out Edward M. Kennedy for the nomination for Democratic leader, attacked Reagan as a wild right wing fundamentalist. The former actor, Ronald Reagan pledged to elevate the cynical mood of the nation, and won a conclusive victory. This election marked the creation of what was called the Reagan Revolution, and indicated a conservative repositioning in national government. Throughout the 1970s, the United States underwent a wrenching period of low economic growth, high inflation and interest rates, and intermittent energy crises. In the spring and summer of 1979, inflation was on the rise and various parts of the United States were experiencing energy shortages, Carter was widely blamed and planned on delivering a major speech about energy conservation, but he thought the American public did not care for what he had to say. In the mist of all this, Carter went on the presidential retreat for the bilateral treaty on Camp David. For more than a week, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Analysis Of Brent Hartinger s The Author Brent Hartinger has written an interesting novel that explores the duality of man in reference to an individual s outward appearance compared to their inward appearance. A strong point of this novel is Middlebrow s willingness to explore new and exciting things, such as going The Geography Club A.K.A (The Gay Straight Alliance). A weak point of this novel is when Middlebrow meets random strangers online and engages in sexual activity. Teen s who are searching for their own identity may find Middlebrow s tale of not only discovering himself, but elevating himself extremely interesting. The plot of two teens hiding not only their true identity, but an entire Gay Straight Alliance club from their outside world, until they are labeled outcasts, proves to be the most interesting aspect of this novel. Although there are numerous good role models within this novel, I believe that Min s selfless actions of forming the The Geography Club to offer a safe haven for homosexual students establish her as the novel s true role model. Since this novel deals with heavy drinking and extreme sexuality exploration, this novel should only be read by fifteen year olds to adults. • 10. Self Images And Self Image Self Image HERO Training 2015 2 Thomas Cumbie Tuesday, August 18 2015 What is Self Image? A person s self image can depend on many factors, to include internal/external and perceived/actual. Their answer when asked What do you believe people think about you? can provide a very succinct view of their self image and possibly how it is formed. The concept of self is derived from many traits usually perceived as demographic information (gender, height, weight, race, etc.) but also other less measurable components such as personal experiences or internalized judgements from others. Self image may consist of three types: 1. Self image resulting from how the individual sees himself or herself. 2. Self image resulting from how others see the individual. 3. Self image resulting from how the individual perceives others see him or her. These three types may or may not be an accurate representation of the person. All, some or none of them may be true. Cognitive and social psychologists have given self image a more technical term self schema which refers to a summary of a person s beliefs, experiences and generalizations about the self. Self schema is based on many aspects including personal interests, traits and physical characteristics. Victim mentality Victims of abuse and manipulation often get trapped into a self image of victimization. The psychological profile of victimization includes a pervasive sense of helplessness, passivity, loss of control, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In doing so, he reflects upon his motivation to climb as well as how his childhood affected these motivations. Krakauer describes this awkward phase in his life as a thick postadolescent fog (134). While it seems ordinary for someone to go through this transitional period in which they are entering the threshold of adulthood, the way in which Krakauer overcomes it is not ordinary. He turns to mountain climbing as a form of escapism and uses nature as a coping mechanism. Krakauer s reassurance from the effects of climbing is important because it reveals a reliance on the purity of nature and it s freedom from external opinions. In response to the claims of McCandless s Alaskan journey being a suicide mission, Krakauer reflects upon the speculations of McCandless s decisions through a more personal lens. Krakauer finds resemblance among himself and McCandless through their aversion towards their own parental figures. While reflecting on these late teenage years, Krakauer describes his postadolescent as a thick...fog, and he has many implications behind this description (134). This precedent later became known as the fruit of the poisonous tree doctrine, and is an extension of the exclusionary rule. Mapp v. Ohio, was a landmark case in criminal procedure, in which the United States Supreme Court decided that evidence obtained in violation of the Fourth Amendment, which protects against unreasonable searches and seizures, may not be used in state law criminal prosecutions in state courts, as well, as had previously been the law, as in federal criminal law prosecutions in federal courts. The Supreme Court accomplished this by use of a principle known as selective incorporation; in this case this involved the incorporation of the provisions, as construed by the Court, of the Fourth Amendment which are literally applicable only to actions of the federal government into the Fourteenth Amendment due process clause which is literally applicable to actions of the states. On May 23, 1957, police officers in a Cleveland, Ohio suburb received information that a suspect in a bombing case, as well as some illegal betting equipment, might be found in the home of Dollree Mapp. Three officers went to the home and asked for permission to enter, but Mapp refused to admit them without a search warrant. The usual claim made by the pro camp is that man is a biological machine and is conscious, ergo, a machine is conscious. If we, humans, are truly biological machines and we are at the same time conscious then I would agree that yes, categorically, a machine could be conscious. But is it really that simple? I contend that it is a more difficult problem but not that it is a complicated one, merely one of ambiguity which, once resolved, leads the contemplator to the same conclusion as I do that in fact, no, a machine could not be conscious. They have physical qualities which are an important distinction in the 3 concept of Artificial Intelligence which claims the ability of machines to achieve consciousness, arising in theory out of intelligence. The most prominent example of the concept of a machine being intelligent in the manner of this so called consciousness is the Turing test (Turing, 1950) which, rather tellingly, was originally called the Imitation Game . The test was designed to see if a machine could fool a human into thinking it was itself another human, and although somewhat successful with Eliza (Weizenbaum 1976), the premise was quickly, and I opine correctly, attacked by Searle (1980:417 57) in his Chinese Room thought experiment, proving that a machine can simulate communication without understanding and is therefore not thinking in the way humans, or perhaps other living things do. Humans exhibit the ability to pass tests without understanding the material and, I contend, this is what a machine simulates, the function of memory, not intelligence. Even if it could fool a ... I believe that the stories told by the characters in Chaucer s book gives us insight into the individual spinning the tale as well as Chaucer as the inventor of these characters and author of their stories. There are three main characters whose stories I will be using as examples: The Knight s Tale, The Miller s Tale, and The Wife of Bath s Tale. The knight told a tale of love, bravery, chivalry, justice, romance, and adventure. His story included two cousins and sworn brothers, Palamon and Arcite, who were both enraptured by the love of one woman, Emily. Emily was related to king Theseus who had ... With smudges where his armour had left mark; Just home from service, he had joined our ranks To do his pilgrimage and render thanks (The Canterbury Tales, p.5). Thirdly, it shows us the knight s ideas of fortune and justice. I believe the knight was optimistic in a practical sense. He viewed Fortune as a beneficial force of justice which is reflected in his happy ending of the tale. Although he had a realistic note of sadness, the overall outcome was good. All the characters prayed to different gods, and all got what they asked for. Although Arcite wins Emily, he dies before he can claim her and she is later married to Palamon. Lastly, the tale was constructed with such length and wordiness to convey the intelligence and education of the speaker the Knight. This story tells me that Chaucer holds the knight in high regard. As the creator of this character and his tale, he displays his fondness of the characteristics which he attributes to the knight.
