scenery of the Antarctic Ocean. On what was supposed to be a normal sailing day, the weather
seemed to turn against them. From the combination of the ice cracking to massive gusts of wind,
the stage appeared as a life or death situation. In the midst of this occurring, an albatrossa legendary
bird arrives and tries to head the ship away from the uncontrollable conditions. Therefore, the
albatrosswas considered a good luck charm by the crew members. Unfortunately, from the Mariner
s lack of judgment, he finalizes this luck by killing the albatross. Through a series of events, the
crew continuously blames the Mariner for all the catastrophes that occur to them after the bird s

Paradise Lost is an epic poem written by John Milton other uses this epic poem to depict the

Paradise Regained (Nafi, 23). The Satan that we knew in Paradise Lost; who was known for his
wit, intelligence, and persuasive attitude appear to no longer exist. It s as if his character is
downplayed as we progress through the rest from the later books of Paradise Lost, and continue
on to Paradise Regained. Satan, who poetically danced within the dreams of Eve, and planted the
seed of curiosity within her head was reduced to an antagonist with a lackluster performance.
There are several major points in which we are able to see the progression of Satan as a fleshed
out character. However, to understand the progression of Satan s development as a character; it is

My Experience Of Writing
As a child, writing was foreign to me. I spent most of my time playing in the grand outdoors with
my sister, or practicing flute or piano indoors. I knew from an early child I wanted to play
music, so I had no time for writing, and no interest in doing it. The only time I ever wrote was
when required for the annual school celebration of author s day. Unlike Orwell, I did not want to
be a writeras a kid; in fact, I wanted nothing to do with it. I, as well, am the middle child of three;
but, I grew up with the constant companionship of my sister. With my sister always by my side, I
had no need to write down what I thought or felt. Soon, my sister was off to middle school, and I
left an empty spot that I began to fill with writing. Eventually, I decided I didn t just want my
stories shared with my sister; I wanted more people to read them. In early adolescence I began
experimenting with short stories; however, containing too many metaphors, similes, and
personification to follow, they always lacked a plot. Naively, I flaunted these stories about, and
read them to all who would listen. My stories of fairies and dragons were perfect to me, but soon
I had annoyed all my family and friends with these ridiculous stories. Not until I received a failing
grade on a school essay did I realize I needed to change my writing style. Unfortunately, my writing

Never in the more than thirty two years of the company s history has turnover been above 5
percent. SAS Institute is located in Cary, in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina. It is
surrounded by numerous pharmaceutical companies, as well as by IBM, Northern Telecom, and
many other high technology and software companies, so SAS people would not have to move
geographically if they wanted to change jobs. How in the world has SAS Institute kept its turnover
so low and succeeded so well in wooing and retaining the talent that has permitted the company to
flourish?
BACKGROUND SAS Institute was founded in 1976 by Dr. James Goodnight, John Sall,
Anthony Barr, and Jane Helwig. Goodnight, today the CEO, was an undergraduate in applied
mathematics at North Carolina State University in the 1960s. The son of a hardware store
owner, he helped pay his way through college by moonlighting as a programmer. After
graduating, Goodnight worked for General Electric on the ground control system for the Apollo
space program before returning to North Carolina State to obtain his doctorate in statistics in
1971. He then joined the faculty on a so called soft money appointment a position in which you
had to go out and get the grants to pay your own salary. Goodnight and Barr, who had worked for
IBM for two years developing an information system for the Pentagon and was now

Reflective Essay On Mental Health
Throughout the past several weeks I have had the opportunity to witness what mental health
really is. Upon starting the mental health unit I was unsure what to expect. I knew I had a
passion deep down for people who have to suffer with the many different mental illnesses. The
two locations my colleagues and I had to opportunity to experience was W3 and W2. W3 is an
addiction recovery unit, and W2 is more of a psych unit. Spending my time at these two units
really opened my eyes to how blessed I am, because someone somewhere has it worse.
For the first several week of the mental health module I spent my time on W3. I enjoyed this unit.
The unit was very solid, and schedule appropriate. I believe that having a great structure for each
day, allows the patients to have a better chance at recovery. I witnessed an Alcoholics Anonymous
meeting for the first time ever. I had always seen these in movies and on TV shows, so it was
interesting to have the opportunity to be able to physically be there and hear the patients thoughts.
Sitting through two AA meetings made me realize that not every has the courage to change, which
was evident as some of the patients did not seem to care. In the Serenity Prayer once written by
Reinhold Niebuhr, it is stated God grant me the serenity to accept things I cannot change; courage
to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference... (Niebuhr, R. Serenity Prayer,
beliefnet.com). This statement is has huge meaning to everyone that reads it because everyone
has gone through something in their life that they could not change, as well as something that
could be changed. Many of the patients of W3 realized that they have made bad decision, but
there is no changing the past, only living for the future. I found that group activities allowed for
many of the patients to realize their self worth, and aided them to create their road to recovery.
My time spent on W2 was a bit different than W3. For starters, the patient complexity is very
different. The patient on the unit are mentally ill, and some of them know they are. W2 also had
group activities however, when I was there, there was no activities that were aiding in their
recovery. On W3 the activity consisted of the patients

flourished, creating a cultural legacy that shaped all areas of Western thinking. Pericles also led the
restoration of the Acropolis and the ambitious construction of the Parthenon (Nardo 10). But
looking beyond their accomplishments, these two historical figures differ greatly in their
motivations and personal conducts. Arguably, two of the most essential traits of a good leader are
integrity and dedication to the common good. Using these qualities as a metric for comparison, we
will see that Henry II falls short while Pericles is clearly deserving of a monument in his honor

Rule 707 was the evidentiary rule focused on in the case. Rule 707 serves the legitimate interest
of ensuring that only reliable evidence is introduced. Here the decision turned on the issue of
whether the defendant is impaired by not being able to use the results from the polygraph to prove
his innocence and to lay the foundation for the reliability on the results. In this case, Rule 707 did
not implicate a sufficiently weighty interest of the accused to raise a constitutional concern under

important role in signaling our hunger. Our stomach produces two hormones that regulate food
intake. Ghrelin (the hunger hormone) tells your brain you need food and Leptin tells your brain
your stomach is full. Your ghrelin levels are high when you have not eaten for a while, which is
why you are hungry when you wake up in the morning. After you eat breakfast, your ghrelin levels
decrease. Studies have shown that H. pylori significantly regulates ghrelin levels and without it,
these levels may be unregulated which can lead to increased appetite and excessive caloric intake.
Studies have shown that those who have been treated by antibiotics to eliminate H. pylori, gained
weight because their ghrelin levels stayed elevated causing them to feel hungry longer therefor
increasing their caloric intake. This example illustrates that we may not really understand the
consequences of the wide use of antibiotics. Obesity could very well be one of those consequences.

When you work in a hospital, many different culture shifts happen week by week, even one day to
the next. This makes it hard for a change of culture to manifest but one change the hospital has
made, manifested perfectly. At our hospital there use to be a no scrub policy, meaning you could
wear any type of scrub color you wanted to. As time went on this made things very hard on patients
and managers, to realize what department the employee was under and what their job title was. The
