Implementation of SMT Concept in Intel Processor Essay
The main idea of this article is implementation of SMT concept in Intel processor which is based on
efficient use of limited amount of processor resources such that at OS and software level it is seems
just like multiple processors are running multiple processes. It is less costly and more efficient.
Sharing policy is also playing an important role in performance improvement. Background: In order to
improve processor performance following traditional approaches like higher clock speeds, instruction
level parallelism, and cache hierarchies were used. But now thread level parallelism is also taken into
consideration. Higher clock speed: Achieve by microarchitecture pipelining to finer granularities
known as superpipelining. Large number of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hyperthreading technology architecture: Hyperthreading technology makes a single physical
processor appear to be multiple logical processors at OS level. From a microarchitecture perspective,
it means that instructions will persist and execute simultaneously on shared execution resources. Die
size and complexity: Hyperthreading technology is resource efficient and deliver a large performance
improvement at minimal cost because it entails only a small increase in die size (is due to a second
architectural state, additional control logic, and replication of a few key processor resources) due to
limited replication of physical processor resources. Microarchitecture choices and tradeoffs: To share
resources, we chose among possible sharing schemes that included partition threshold full sharing
Partition: In a partitioned resource, each logical processor can use only half the entries. Resource
partitioning is simple and low complex. It works best for the major pipeline queues in the in order
pipeline. Threshold: Another way of sharing resources is to limit the maximum resource usage. This
scheme puts a threshold on the number of resource entries a logical processor can have. Full sharing:
The most flexible mechanism for resource sharing, do not limit the maximum

Product Life Cycle ( Plc )
Product Life Cycle (PLC) Introduction: A new product goes through a set of different stages said to be
product life cycle. The product life cycle proceeds through multiple phases, involves many
professional disciplines, and requires many skills, tools and processes. By explaining the product life
cycle stages, we clearly define the phase, each with its own characteristics that will have different
impact on each reader depending on their particular situation. We discuss introduction, growth,
maturity and decline. Once the product is designed and put into the market, the offering should be
managed efficiently for the buyers to get value from it. Before entering into any market complete
analysis is carried out by the industry for both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The boom is on. This is the beginning of Stage 2 the market growth stage. At this point potential
competitors who have been watching developments during Stage I jump into the fray. The first ones to
get in are generally those with an exceptionally effective used apple policy. Some enter the market
with carbon copies of the originator s product. Others make functional and design improvements. And
at this point product and brand differentiation begin to develop. The ensuing fight for the consumer s
patronage poses to the originating producing an entirely new set of problems. Instead of seeking ways
of getting consumers to try the product, the originator now faces the more compelling problem of
getting them to prefer his brand. This generally requires important changes in marketing strategies and
methods. But the policies and tactics now adopted will be neither freely the sole choice of the
originating producer, nor as experimental as they might have been during Stage I. The presence of
competitors, both dictates and limits what can easily be tried such as, for example, testing what is the
best price level or the best channel of distribution. As the rate of consumer acceptance accelerates, it
generally becomes increasingly easy to open new distribution channels and retail outlets. The
consequent filling of distribution pipelines generally causes the entire industry s factory sales to rise
more rapidly than store sales. This creates an

Funding Recreational Areas Into The Scholarship
Beyond conservation then, lies the sense that historians have frequently neglected to incorporate how
preservation of specific recreational areas into their scholarship. This is vital considering that without
this frame of reference, conservation is lost within the idea that it is separate from nature. As an
attempt to explain this neglect is the awareness that One group of critics has suggested that the
complexity and stochasticity of natural processes invariably complicate attempts to preserve
wilderness, creating an additional layer suggestive of the thought that scholars shy away from
integrating specific instances of land use in their studies. As Paul Sutter suggests, past historians have
frequently and inadvertently written about conservation, especially in the case of wilderness, as a form
of enclosure. In doing so, Sutter s work correlates with Jacoby s considering that conservation has
been viewed as a worthwhile endeavor, while neglecting to comprehend the ramifications it had on
certain groups. Perhaps most interesting in Sutter s argument, is the traditional method of examining
conservation as a part of the Progressive Movement, leading historians to consider that nature is
simply a human paradigm, and that the ties between nature and humans are not as significant as they
appear.
Paramount to Sutter s argument is his association between conservation and Benton MacKaye. The
author frequently uses MacKaye to illustrate public/private partnerships as have other

The Miami Heat-Personal Narrative
It all started mid January a few years back. My father asked me if I wanted to go to an Atlanta Hawks
basketball game because, the Miami Heat would be in town to play. So of course I said yes! He ended
up getting four tickets through his company which meant Amazing seats that were pretty much court
side. Dad told me I could invite anyone I wanted and that he was inviting my friend Anthony s Dad
Tony. Tony was quite the character not one you d look up to but cool to hangout with. He was about a
foot shorter than me, bald, and couldn t say no to a drink. The next day in weight training I asked my
buddy Rj if he was down to go to the Hawks vs Heat game in which he uttered the obvious yes. So a

It was slam packed but luckily we got through security fairly quick. We sat down and watched the
game go back and forth the lead switching from team to team. We all got hungry so we headed to the
concessions stands and all the card readers were messed up. This caused an astronomical line at the
ATM which we were sadly in. The only place the card machine was working was the Royal Crown bar
which Tony had went and got his fair share of drinks. Eventually we decided to go sit back down and
finish the game. The heat won by a landslide which came to no surprise. Then we made the pilgrimage
back to Tonys home. Driving back we stopped and Hooters to eat because it was the only place open
at midnight around where we were. We left at 1 am and got to Tonys house to drop him off about 30

Donald Trump Controversial News
1. The Controversial news topic I have chosen is the speech in which Donald Trump made horrible
remarks about the Mexican people and how he disrespected every Mexican person in America. Donald
Trump first launched his campaign in Spanish in which he tried to gain Spanish supporters but in a
following speech he blatantly changed course and insulted Mexicans when he said that Mexico has
many problems and they are bringing it to the United States. He later went on to say that they are
bringing drugs ,crime and rapists , This statement put the famous business man in hot water and made
many people angry including the Latino Community , average Americans and even his fellow
republican candidates. Many had claimed that trumps need for attention went

Free Essay On Shakespeare s Macbeth-Personal Narrative
So, what is it? The soft spoken male murmured as he sat down across from the other as Ohta sat
between them. The air seemed to grow thicker with anticipation as dull black eyes stared into vibrant
green, trying to reap out the information they desired to obtain. Taking one of the sweets, Shimura bit
into it, savoring the fluffy vanilla taste of the soufflé.
Tanaka. Don t pressure him. He is, after all, a loyal customer. The fierce golden brown gaze was no
better than the dull black one. His eyes were like a tiger waiting to pounce on its prey as soon as it
made a single movement. Shimura stared back at both of the waiting gazes with his unmoving one,
then a bubble of laughter left his throat and out his mouth then it was cut off, tension filled the
atmosphere once more as his vibrant green eyes sharpened as he confessed what was about to happen.

Koyaanisqatsi Life Out Of Balance Analysis
In the 1982 film by Godfrey Reggio, Ron Fricke and Philip Glass, Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of Balance,
the filmmakers use imagery and music rather than dialogue to convey emotion, time and meaning. The
images in the film is primarily time lapse and slow motion footage of natural landscapes in the United
States, cities and human machinery/development. It requires skill and experience to create a film with
no dialogue that can effectively convey a message. Without words it would also be challenging
creating climax and convey time. The filmmakers of Koyaanisqatsi creatively used contrast in images
to display time passing and to build or lesson the drama to transition to the next scene. In photography
and filmmaking contrast refers to the difference in tones from the lightest tone to the darkest tone.
Throughout the film there are many aerial shots of canyons especially in chapter two, Organic. The
first canyon image in the movie is an aerial shot of what looks like the Grand Canyon. There is uneven
rock formation rows in front of each other. The sunlight is coming from behind the camera, creating
deep shadows on the front of the first valley and it creates deep shadows on the valley behind it. This
shot moves very slowly across this area and then cuts to several close up shots of parts of the canyon,
these images are low contrast they are mostly orange without distinct harsh shadows. After the
closeups, there are more aerial shots of the canyon. With each shot the valleys get shallower and the
contrast lowers. The shadows are less distinct as the land flattens, the land also has more and greener
as it gets flatter, one of the last canyon shot we see before the transition to the next chapter shows the
sun rising over completely flat desert like land in the area. For this chapter the filmmakers used
regression of contrast to create transition from one scene to the next. The flattening in land with the
lowering in contrast also shows time and how what used to be vibrant, with harsh and distinct lines
and shadows can fade and erode into flat land with no depth and no contrast. The next chapter is
named clouds, they use water to transition from dry harsh land to the flowing clouds in the sky. The
film shows rushing

The setting takes place in present day Texas throughout the whole novel. The setting takes place in
modern day Texas. The main characters are Sunny Reynolds the main detective who was 13 years old,
Jasmine Reynolds Sunny s older sister who was loved by everyone and known the perfect child. She
was reported dead when there was a fire in the building that she was in, but was never dead because

We heard her grab her bag from Jazz s room, her shoes on the stairs, the door slams, and the station

reader) care about the characters because she was very sweet to care for Sunny s mother who seemed
lost without her perfect child, Jasmine. Also, the description stated that this girl was used to leaving,
which sunk my heart because she didn t know where her home was, and she was used to being kicked
out, especially because she didn t have her own family to go back too. Stop stealing lives, and go back
to your own. I don t know who that is, the girl stated in a sad tone (130). This also made me wonder
where she was going to go, and what she was going to do after she left the bus station. At this point of
the novel, the author takes away all of the hatred for this character, and really digs down with details
and tone, to care for this

The Rationale For The Choice Of Title Essay
1.0 Title and the Rationale for the Choice of Title The title of this training program is Say No to
Sexual Harassment . Sexual harassment means undesirable or unwelcome sexual conduct which
makes people feel annoyed, embarrassed or scared (University of Minnesota 2015). Normally, female
employees are most likely to be the pity victims of sexual harassment. However, male employees can
be the victims too. Appendix 5 shows the snapshot of statistics about sexual harassment in the
workplace.
For most female today, it is important to get a job in order to be successful and independent women. It
is a transformation from past decades. The amount of female employees in the workplace is getting
more and more. In Malaysia, female employees consist of 38.60 % of total labor force in 2013. By
comparing to 1990, involvement of women in the workplace has increased 1.1% (Trading Economics
2015). Appendix 6 shows the percentages of female workforce in the workplace in Malaysia in
different years. Since involvement of women in the workplace is getting more and more, we believe
that sexual harassment against female employees will increase.
The aim of this training program is to help trainees understand sexual harassment more in the
workplace. Sexual harassment is part of the sex discrimination (Australian Human Rights Commission
2015). Sexual harassment in the workplace becomes a common issue in this world. Therefore, sexual
harassment training must give to all

FINANCING RECOMMENDATION
SEPTEMBER 1997
1. PURPOSE

These two offers came from 1) a fund consortium led by Robertson Stephens Omega Fund ( RSC )

of wireless technology which had recently gone IPO.

Strategic/Business fit between CellTech and Metapath.
4. ANALYSIS
Comparing the term sheet of the offer from RSC and TCV consortium to that of CellTech, RSC and
TCV s PCPT had a much more dilutive impact to Metapath upon exit.
Under liquidation, the term sheet stipulates that the Series E investors is entitled to claim its initial
investment of $10.75 million plus any accrued but unpaid dividend. Any proceeds after this claim will
then be distributed to all common and Series E Preferred shareholders on an as converted pro rata
basis. This double dipping means that RSC will not only recover its initial investment of $5 millions,
but also enjoys the convertible benefits.
As a result, if the sale occurs before 2000, the profitability for A D tranches will be negatively
impacted by the preferred characteristic in the Series E. However if the sale occurs after 2000, A and
B tranches will be gradually redeemed on an annual basis, which will leave C and D tranches to be
mostly impacted adversely by the preferred characteristic in the Series E stock.
Under the circumstance of an IPO, tranches C, D and E will convert to common at their negotiated
prices while A B will be redeemed.
However, on the flip side, the price offered by RSC and TCV consortium was $6, which was
significantly higher than the first three rounds of financing (tranches A,B and C) at

Sight Gags and Charlie Chaplin Essay
Sight Gags and Charlie Chaplin
We have all seen it done before, either in real life or in the movies. A situation is funny because of the
misinterpretation of someone s actions or the complete conflict of what a situation seems to be and
what it really is. People come into contact with sight gags all the time. One might be trying to be
sneaky and hide something and then when someone looks, one pretends to be doing something else
not to get caught. One could also pantomime using an umbrella as a baseball bat. These are both basic
forms of sight gags.
Sight gags are an essential part of comedy, especially the silent comedies of Charlie Chaplin s time. A
sight gag is a visual form of comedy. In this form of comedy, the actors rely on ... Show more content

The accuser, however, had not seen that Chaplin had put the money in her pocket in the first place.
This misunderstanding makes the scene funny when the man tells the woman to check her pockets and
she is overjoyed to find money.
The second sight gag discussed is the mimed metaphor, which is when an actor uses pantomime as a
gag. For this, the actor uses an object that is very recognizable and pantomimes something that is not
its proper use. This is a kind of visual simile, and is generally used in silent films more than sound
films. The mimed metaphor is different from the mutual interface gag in that there are not multiple
points of view to consider, they often do not result in mishaps, and commonly deal with objects rather
than events. The mimed metaphor is used in the film The Count, in which at one point Chaplin s
character uses his cane like a pool cue in order to hit an object off the table.
At the beginning of The Immigrant Chaplin s character is hanging over the side of the boat. The
audience gets the impression that he is seasick, however we soon learn that he is actually just fishing.
This is a perfect example of switch image. In the beginning, the audience is led to believe one thing,
but with the revelation of new details we soon realize that our perception of the situation was wrong,
and generally our perception changes to something

How Has Hip-Hop Changed In The 80 s
Hip Hop has changed over the decades some of these decades include the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.

assessment of a student s ability to pay for college. Unfortunately, the former remains the case today.
In fact, according to the United States National Economic Council, twelve of the top fifteen strategies
for students to maximize their aid eligibility involves manipulating their family s measured assets
(10). This quote highlights the fact that students and families are exploiting acknowledged flaws in an
application which must be addressed in some manner. Furthermore, it shows that this fraud is actually
being encouraged as a legitimate action. It also speaks to the negative perception of the FAFSA given
that families find the system

Use Of Automatic Mode Of A Dslr ( Digital Single Lens...
Introduction
Imagine yourself standing on one of the seven wonders in the world. Surrounded by the symbolic
scenery you wish to seal up the beauty forever, but you re struggling due to a lack of knowledge of
how to function a DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera. This user guide will teach you how to use
a DSLR camera from the fundamentals, along with in depth knowledge of the profession functions
using the three most important pillars in photography; Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO.
Automatic Mode
1.1 What is Automatic Mode
Automatic mode is when the camera self selects the most appropriate settings for the chosen situation.
It determines for you all of the functions such as shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance (WB),
etc. All that is required for you to do then is point and shoot. [1]
1.2 How to Access and Operate Automatic Mode
1. Turn on your camera
2. Twist the mode dial until the green symbol auto lines up with the white marker and your LCD
screen displays the correct mode. (Figure 1,2)
3. Select a target and press the shutter button to capture.
Programme Mode
2.1 What is Programme Mode
Above we have discussed about the most basic mode auto mode. Programme mode is one step more
complicated than auto mode. It also self selects the shutter speed, aperture, WB and etc for a given
situation but the ISO is able to be manually manipulated.
2.2 How to Access and Operate Programme mode
1. With your camera turned on, twist the mode dial so that the

Why We Need The Military
We must never forget why we have, and why we need our military. Our armed forces exist solely to
ensure our nation is safe, so that each and every one of us can sleep soundly at night, knowing we
have guardians at the gate, said Allen West,a retired Army lieutenant colonel and a former member of
the House of Representatives. He explained America s need for a strong military perfectly in this
quote. The United States depends on their military to protect them from all different kinds of threats
like cyber warfare or terrorist attacks.
In order to see why an increase in military spending is needed, one must look at the damaged
equipment, the need for new and improved equipment and then look at what it would take to defeat
ISIS.
After the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the amount of damaged equipment was immense. The Army
and the Marine Corps lost about 40 percent of their ground equipment from the wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan. The military still needs to replace some of the damaged equipment from the end of the
Iraq war in 2011. Some of the vehicles got blasted by bombs, others got covered up by desert sand,

The Navy has a new weapon called the electromagnetic railgun. This rail gun is able to shoot bullets
with electricity rather than gunpowder. According to Dailymail.com, the electromagnetic railgun can
fire projectiles six times the speed of sound(Weston Prigg, 2017). Because these railguns only use
electricity, this gets rid of the risks connected with keeping bombs on a ship. Another new weapon the
Navy has been working on, is a laser gun. A laser travels at the speed of light. This would give sailors
better accuracy when they fire instead of guessing how high they have to aim depending on how far
the object is. According to the Navy Times, once in action, the laser weapon only costs about one
dollar per shot (Rathmell,

Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging Functional cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a
diagnostic imaging modality that uses magnetic resonance imaging to assess cardiac function (5). Cine
studies can reconstruct images across several phases of the cardiac cycle. This method of MRI can
measure left ventricular volume, ejection fraction, myocardial contraction, and strain rate (10). MRI
has the ability to provide information on left ventricular function as well as regional profusion
simultaneously (11). The new MRI techniques can also evaluate angiogenesis and myocardial
viability. This has proven to be a valuable tool in diagnosing many heart conditions such as
myocarditis, amyloidosis, and restrictive cardiomyopathy. Technology ... Show more content on

MRI does not expose the patient to radiopharmaceuticals, which gives cardiac MRI an advantage over
nuclear medicine (13). MRI also has better resolution than nuclear medicine. The excellent contrast
resolution of MRI produces a well defined endocardial border (7). MRI does not have the problem of
limited acoustic windows that sometimes inhibits echocardiographic imaging. Although MRI is a
reliable modality for cardiac imaging, there are some limitations to consider with this modality. MRI
is contraindicated for patients implanted devices such as pacemakers or defibrillators. As with MUGA
and SPECT studies, cardiac MRI is not as accurate in patients with cardiac arrhythmias. When
calculating ejection fraction with MRI, it is necessary for the patient hold their breath. This means
poor image quality for studies done on patients who cannot hold their breath. In addition to this, any
variation in the level of inspiration will affect the accuracy of ejection fraction calculations

Metaphor And The Expressions Of Emotion
Metaphor and the Expressions of Emotion
Introduction:
In May 2015, Walt Disney Pictures released the film Inside Out. The film emphasizes the
neuropsychological finding that human emotions affect interpersonal relationships. It shows how
emotions work inside a person s brain and at the same time how these emotions shape a person s outer
life (Keltner Ekman, 2015). In this film, each character is represented by a colour With is conceptual
metaphor theory (Lakoff and Johnson 1980) can be applied. As this representation works with the
theory of conceptual metaphors. Conceptual metaphors are metaphors that we have in our mind that
allow us to produce and understand abstract concepts (Littlemore, 2008). The five main human
emotions that are represented as characters inside an 11 year old girl brain are: Joy represented as a
glowing yellow; Anger as red; Disgust as green; and Fear as purple. The film was released all over the
world, gaining positive reviews from many different cultures. With these positive reviews, the
question is asked are colours emotion metaphors universal? The purpose of this study is to test
whether the cultural experiences of individuals result in different mental representations of colour
emotion metaphors. The colours black, white, red, yellow, and blue were looked at because they are
primary colours and have more colour emotion metaphors associated with them.

Jung The Collective Unconscious
The unconscious is an aspect of the human psyche that still baffles psychologist today. In our
unconscious, we potentially contain repressed memories, desires, and behaviors. The individual
unconsciously executes many of the behaviors or desires. However, there is more to the unconscious
than our personal memories and behaviors. Carl G. Jung, a psychologist, was one of Freud s friends
and student. Jung diverged from Freud because his perception that the unconscious mainly contains
repressed memories. Freud had his understanding of these instinctual behaviors, but mostly dismissed
the concept as insignificant. Although, Freud did not particularly accept the collective unconscious,

These fundamental images have lasted since the far reaches of time. The archetypal images are
concepts regarding nature, interpersonal relationships, religion, and a whole range of other aspects of
human society. For example, we all innately understand the concept of water. This is something that
we are not taught or trained to know and accept. Nevertheless, the idea of water in dreams and visions
has held meaning for men all throughout history. The individual may not be conscious of the
significance from water. Over the course of Jung s life, he studied thousands of dreams comparing and
contrasting their significances and found many common themes, like the concept of water. Now to be
clear the archetypal images are only representations of the inherent archetypes. These images are not
archetypes themselves; they are the experienced expression of the archetype. The archetype itself is an
inherited mode of psychic functioning analogous to inherited behavior patterns. (Sills, 1968)
Therefore, fairy tales and myths are representations of these innate modes of psychic functioning. Carl
Jung understood that we all have these archetypal images in our lives, but an individual can

Industrialization Of America
What factors led to Industrialization of America? Industrialization is growing or development of
industries and factories in a country or region. The United States were far behind most countries in the
1700a 1800s. The US was a young nation and they had no loyalty or respect given to them by any
country at this time. The people of the US wanted change, they wanted respect, and they wanted to be
independent form all of the surrounding countries and civilizations. One of the main things that lead to
the Industrialization of America, was the Embargo Act of 1807. In 1807, Britain began to blockade all
of the United States ports. This infuriated the people of the US because there was no way for the them

After the war was over, it was time for change. The US couldn t get any of the things they needed
because of the Embargo Act of 1807, which stop mostly all of the trade with foreign nations. This
meant the United States needed things such as tools, parts for newly advanced transportation, and
many other items that people needed to make a living. Samuel Salter saw that the US was needing
change, so he constructed in first British style textile factory in the United States, which was in Rhode
Island. This was booming thing in America because it opened up many jobs. Not only did it open up
jobs, these jobs paid at least two times the amount as a farming job. The formation of the factory and
Industrialization in the United States created something new and far between, the Middling class. The
middle class were the people that were neither rich nor poor. Though the Embargo Act and the War of
1812 were mainly focused on in this essay, there are many other things that caused the Industrial
Revolution. The Embargo Act of 1807 sparked the War of 1812, which sparked the beginning of a
period that would change the world forever. The period of Industrialization in the United States of
America was the greatest thing the country has ever seen. The Industrial revolution worked toward
and even created many new ways of transportation. Many different forms of technology were created
to make the working man s life easier.

Enzymatic Resolution of 1 Phenylethanol and Diastereomer Analysis
Objective/Abstract
Enzymatic transesterification reaction was performed to study the resolution of diastereomers using
1H NMR analysis. The stereo selectivity of acylase I, an enzyme, for a 50:50 racemic mixture of 1
phenylethanol was determined. In the first of a two step reaction, 1 phenylethanol was reacted with
vinyl acetate with the help of acylase I to form an ester, unreacted 1 phenylethanol, and vinyl alcohol.
The unreacted 1phenylethanol was separated from the ester by column chromatography and confirmed
by thin layer chromatography (TLC). In the second ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first reaction of this experiment, 1 phenylethanol was reacted with vinyl acetate, using the
acylase I enzyme. The enzyme s chirality results in a preferred reaction with one alcohol enantiomer
over the other. In the second reaction, the unreacted alcohol is reacted with (R) ( ) acetoxyphenylacetic
acid to create a diastereomer. By comparing the 1H NMR spectra of the final product diastereomers,
we can determine which alcohol enantiomer the enzyme preferred to react with.
We relied on column chromatography to separate the unreacted 1 phenylethanol from the phenylethyl
acetate ester. Column chromatography is a useful laboratory technique aimed at separating aqueous
and organic components of a mixture.

For this experiment, the lab was separated into groups of four. Each member of the group was
responsible for using a sample of 1 phenylethanol. The samples used were detailed in the

Application Of An Information System
An Information System (IS) is commonly known as a system composed of people and computers
whose main purpose is to processes or interprets information. In this context, information system
development methodologies (ISDMs) are used to organize the IS development process (Zaied et
al.2003). In the last decades, various well known ISDMs have been established in literatures. For
instance, Agile Methodology, Structured Systems Analysis and Design Methodology(SSADM), Soft
Systems Methodology(SSM), User centered Development Methodology, ETHICS Methodology,
Jackson Systems Development(JSD) and etc. With these high level concepts of methodology for
information system in mind, the rest of this research is focused on selecting a suitable development
approach for the project, and identify the features and current thinking on the selected methodology.
A software development methodology is a structure imposed on the development of a software
product. It is used to structure, plan and control the process of developing an information system
including procedures, techniques, tools and documentation aids. A wide variety of methodologies have
evolved over the years, majority aggress that all these methodologies are distinguished into two
categories Heavyweight or Lightweight. Heavyweight methodologies are also known as traditional
methodologies which approach system development with standard, well defined processes such as
Waterfall, Spiral and Unified Process. Lightweight methodologies

Max Weber And Modern Capitalism
Max Weber (1864 1920), like the sociologists before him, was interested in capitalism. However, he
was interested in what he dubbed Modern Capitalism and how it came to be. Instead of just looking at
the effects of this theory, he contemplated on what allowed it to take place. To an extent, he agrees
with Karl Marx on modern capitalism ability to form, but he takes it a step beyond economic
conditions and adds the element of social/ religious conditions. Weber developed what he called the
spirit of capitalism, which looks at modern capitalism and shows what makes modern capitalism
different from speculative, commercial, adventurous, and political capitalism. He noted that in this
type of capitalism people have a mentality that they need to make as much money as possible, which
requires a particular frame of mind that ... strives systematically and rationally in a calling for
legitimate profit (Weber, 2009, The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, Pg. 80). Thus the
mentality went from working to live to live to work. It was this new ethic that separated modern
capitalism from the rest.
When looking at the features that allowed capitalism to come to fruition, Weber noted that a cause and
effect relationship needs to occur. Weber, like Marx considered objective factors that contributed to
the rise of capitalism. Marx believed that the successful emergence of a new system was made
possible by changes in the economic world. The influx of precious metals from

Hypocrisy In Scarlet Letter
If the truth be told to set one free, then what will a lie do? The answer to this question can be found in
The Scarlet Letter, as a secret torments the soul of a respected minister. In the novel, extreme
hypocrisy is seen in the community s leaders while goodness is found in an adulterer. From this, the
reader learns the value of truth as well as the result of living a lie. Nathaniel Hawthorne instills the
three types of irony to help convey the theme of hypocrisy, and its effects on society and the soul.

community cannot hidden by the deception of the leaders. The Puritans move to America seeking a

Hester is able to avoid the internal guilt that Dimmesdale faces. In chapter seventeen, Dimmesdale
proves this by declaring, Else, I should long ago have thrown off these garments of mock holiness,
and have shown myself... Happy are you, Hester, that wear the scarlet letter openly upon your bosom!
(Hawthorne 176) Dimmesdale envys Hester because he sees how she has avoided the intoxicating
shame that possesses the minister. Dimmesdale also says he regrets not giving up his holy position and
exposing himself. However, Dimmesdale could reveal his secret at anytime, but he does not; once

Michael Mann s The Last Of The Mohicans
In 1992, director Michael Mann decided to create a remake of the American classic The Last of the
Mohicans, written by James Fenimore Cooper. The Last of the Mohicans is a novel that takes place
during the French and Indian War. The reader is taken through the story through the last surviving
members of the Mohican tribe and the British as they fight against the French and survive attacks from
the Huron Indians. Though Mann changes some details of the story slightly, the overall story remains
the same. The film follows Hawkeye, Uncas, and Chingachgook as they become involved with the
British fight against the French when a British caravan, set up by the native scout Magua, is attacked
by Huron Indians. They end up having to escort Col. Monroe s daughter s Cora and Alice to the safety

Fashion s Influence On Fashion
When one thinks of a genre they think of a book or a type of music. Genre can be thought of as a
category of art. Fashion is a form of art, artists everyday are creating works that they feel people will
wear and like. Fashion is a huge industry with thousands of designers that makes billions of dollars
per year. Whether people realize it or not, every single person has a sense of style and has their own
taste in clothing. With fashion there are different genres ranging from chic to bohemian to sporty.
Along with different genres of fashion, there are different genres of brands. With these two genres
combined, an examination of the correlation of the brands with the style of fashion will be examined.
The first genre of fashion we are going to examine is a style called chic . Chic is a French word that
means classy. When the word chic crosses my mind, I picture a girl standing in the streets of New
York City dressed up from head to toe looking her finest. Most chic clothes cover the body of the
person wearing them and makes them look a bit classier than others. BB Dakota is a brand that is
considered chic, it is on the lower of the scale of prices of clothes. Most of their clothes have been
seen in top boutiques and in department stores. Celebrities such as Taylor Swift and others have been

Some would say good and some would say evil, some would say that humans are both, unless forced
to take a side. Human s do have good in them, for if they didn t there would be no kindness in the
world, for example taking the time to help a troubled old lady cross a busy street. Of course to be a
human you are going to have a small amount of evil residing inside of you, for all humans have been
selfish at some point in their life. Hopefully, you get the idea now, that I believe that humans are
inherently evil. People can become evil from fear. In the short story The Tell Tale Heart , is about a
man who is filled with loath towards an older man s eyes, I think it was his eye! yes, it was this!... I

As his given job at age 12, he became the new receiver. The old receiver becomes the Giver and
transmits his memories that he was given to Jonas. And during one of his transmutations it was
described like this, She rocked him and rubbed her cheek against his (Lowery pg.123). This was
during a memory the Giver transmuted into Jonas, but in their world now they no longer have any
physical touching in between each other, such as they are not allowed to touch people who are outside
of their family unit, and the families themselves already do not touch each other very often. On a
separate occasion, the Giver was explaining to Jonas about color, There was a time, actually when
flesh was many different colors... We ve never completely mastered Sameness. I suppose the genetic
scientists are still hard at work trying to work the kinks out... (Lowery pg. 94 95). This could show
that the scientists want to make it so that nobody is different for each other, but when they do that,
when they reach total Sameness, it will erase all of the differences of the world, and the differences
between our looks will disappear forever. And they will be cursed to forever look the

Case Study #1 Sunspot, Inc
1. What are the most likely benefits of forming strategic supply alliances with Sunspot s key
suppliers?
A strategic alliance between Sunspot and its key suppliers will result in a relationship based on trust. It
s key for both parties to develop and manage this institutional trust or the alliance will fail. Trust will

This gave rise to the materials management approach to structuring the material portion of an
organization.
Instructor Comments:
3. What should Joan Glass do?
Joan must start with the basics of setting up the materials management organization to provide an
integrated systems approach to the coordination of materials activities and the control of total material
costs. She also needs to evolve the supply chain management structure to encompass the planning and
management of all activities involved in forecasting, sourcing, and procurement and all incoming
logistics management activities. It will create integrated processes throughout the organization. Setting
up a cross functional team will address many supply management related activities. In addition, policy
will need to be established to ensure all parties know their respective roles and expected involvement.
Instructor Comments:
4. Should Glass suggest a materials manager?
Absolutely, she should suggest a materials manager to have control and responsibility for the
purchasing, planning and scheduling, transportation, and warehousing functions. This will optimize
the performance of the materials system resulting in improvements in inventory

Summary Of How Immigrants Changed America
America is filled with diverse people, citizens and immigrants. It s a country that has welcomed many
cultures, languages, and people from different parts of the world. Immigrants are the reasons why
America is changing into a colorful country and it wouldn t be known for it s importance known
today. Significant changes that occur when immigrants come to America are new cultures, changes in
the economy, and changes towards visas and green cards.
Immigrants changed America by bringing in new cultures. In Vincent J. Cannato s article, How
Americans Became Italian, it explains how America gained many things from the Italian culture, such
as food, music, and films. Vincent J. Cannato states, The Italian American experience reminds us that
immigration is a process of transformation for the individuals and for American society. That bilateral
cultural evolution will continue to mold who we are as a nation, (Cannato). Like Italians, many other
countries are shaping America with all the different cultures. Today, Americans combine varying
cultures into their lives.
Next, immigrants changed the economy. In the article, Why American Cities Are Fighting to Attract
Immigrants , Ted Hesson explains the development made in the economy by immigrants. He states
that, Immigrants are creating businesses and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Campbell explains, In the United States, where the general population is nine times larger than Canada

The Last Critic That Will Be Evaluated
The last critic that will be evaluated is Margaret B. Wilkerson. During the time that her critical study
was composed, Margaret B. Wilkerson was the Director of the UC Berkeley Center for the Study,
Education, and Advancement of Women. Wilkerson critical analysis is titled A Raisin in the Sun:
Anniversary of an American Classic. Wilkerson s critical analysis discusses the various social,
historical, and artistic factors that have contributed to the play s contemporary relevance and
popularity, with particular focus on script revisions. (Wilkerson 442) Wilkerson states that critics
claimed that plays about the Black experience were seen as unattractive and of temporary or limited
appeal to the theatre audiences. A Raisin in the Sun was different because the play was created at the
right time. Wilkerson stated, The Play s phenomenal reception can be attributed, in part, to its
timeliness, for this dram reflects that moment in U.S. history when the country was poised on the
brink of cataclysmic social and legal upheavals that would forever change its character. (Wilkerson
442) Hansberry happen to respond to Langston Hughes poem A Dream Deferred by making a play
about the struggles and frustrations of a working class Black family living in the South Side of
Chicago post World War II. It is three generations of family members living under one roof. The
apartment is a two bedroom apartment that is shared by five people so it is not only crowded but
unsanitary because of

  • 2. Implementation of SMT Concept in Intel Processor Essay The main idea of this article is implementation of SMT concept in Intel processor which is based on efficient use of limited amount of processor resources such that at OS and software level it is seems just like multiple processors are running multiple processes. It is less costly and more efficient. Sharing policy is also playing an important role in performance improvement. Background: In order to improve processor performance following traditional approaches like higher clock speeds, instruction level parallelism, and cache hierarchies were used. But now thread level parallelism is also taken into consideration. Higher clock speed: Achieve by microarchitecture pipelining to finer granularities known as superpipelining. Large number of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hyperthreading technology architecture: Hyperthreading technology makes a single physical processor appear to be multiple logical processors at OS level. From a microarchitecture perspective, it means that instructions will persist and execute simultaneously on shared execution resources. Die size and complexity: Hyperthreading technology is resource efficient and deliver a large performance improvement at minimal cost because it entails only a small increase in die size (is due to a second architectural state, additional control logic, and replication of a few key processor resources) due to limited replication of physical processor resources. Microarchitecture choices and tradeoffs: To share resources, we chose among possible sharing schemes that included partition threshold full sharing Partition: In a partitioned resource, each logical processor can use only half the entries. Resource partitioning is simple and low complex. It works best for the major pipeline queues in the in order pipeline. Threshold: Another way of sharing resources is to limit the maximum resource usage. This scheme puts a threshold on the number of resource entries a logical processor can have. The product life cycle proceeds through multiple phases, involves many professional disciplines, and requires many skills, tools and processes. By explaining the product life cycle stages, we clearly define the phase, each with its own characteristics that will have different impact on each reader depending on their particular situation. We discuss introduction, growth, maturity and decline. Once the product is designed and put into the market, the offering should be managed efficiently for the buyers to get value from it. Before entering into any market complete analysis is carried out by the industry for both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The boom is on. This is the beginning of Stage 2 the market growth stage. At this point potential competitors who have been watching developments during Stage I jump into the fray. The first ones to get in are generally those with an exceptionally effective used apple policy. Some enter the market with carbon copies of the originator s product. Others make functional and design improvements. And at this point product and brand differentiation begin to develop. The ensuing fight for the consumer s patronage poses to the originating producing an entirely new set of problems. Instead of seeking ways of getting consumers to try the product, the originator now faces the more compelling problem of getting them to prefer his brand. This generally requires important changes in marketing strategies and methods. But the policies and tactics now adopted will be neither freely the sole choice of the originating producer, nor as experimental as they might have been during Stage I. The presence of competitors, both dictates and limits what can easily be tried such as, for example, testing what is the best price level or the best channel of distribution. As the rate of consumer acceptance accelerates, it generally becomes increasingly easy to open new distribution channels and retail outlets. The consequent filling of distribution pipelines generally causes the entire industry s factory sales to rise more rapidly than store sales. This creates an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Funding Recreational Areas Into The Scholarship Beyond conservation then, lies the sense that historians have frequently neglected to incorporate how preservation of specific recreational areas into their scholarship. This is vital considering that without this frame of reference, conservation is lost within the idea that it is separate from nature. As an attempt to explain this neglect is the awareness that One group of critics has suggested that the complexity and stochasticity of natural processes invariably complicate attempts to preserve wilderness, creating an additional layer suggestive of the thought that scholars shy away from integrating specific instances of land use in their studies. As Paul Sutter suggests, past historians have frequently and inadvertently written about conservation, especially in the case of wilderness, as a form of enclosure. In doing so, Sutter s work correlates with Jacoby s considering that conservation has been viewed as a worthwhile endeavor, while neglecting to comprehend the ramifications it had on certain groups. Perhaps most interesting in Sutter s argument, is the traditional method of examining conservation as a part of the Progressive Movement, leading historians to consider that nature is simply a human paradigm, and that the ties between nature and humans are not as significant as they appear. Paramount to Sutter s argument is his association between conservation and Benton MacKaye. The author frequently uses MacKaye to illustrate public/private partnerships as have other ... • 8. Koyaanisqatsi Life Out Of Balance Analysis In the 1982 film by Godfrey Reggio, Ron Fricke and Philip Glass, Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of Balance, the filmmakers use imagery and music rather than dialogue to convey emotion, time and meaning. The images in the film is primarily time lapse and slow motion footage of natural landscapes in the United States, cities and human machinery/development. It requires skill and experience to create a film with no dialogue that can effectively convey a message. Without words it would also be challenging creating climax and convey time. The filmmakers of Koyaanisqatsi creatively used contrast in images to display time passing and to build or lesson the drama to transition to the next scene. In photography and filmmaking contrast refers to the difference in tones from the lightest tone to the darkest tone. Throughout the film there are many aerial shots of canyons especially in chapter two, Organic. The first canyon image in the movie is an aerial shot of what looks like the Grand Canyon. There is uneven rock formation rows in front of each other. The sunlight is coming from behind the camera, creating deep shadows on the front of the first valley and it creates deep shadows on the valley behind it. This shot moves very slowly across this area and then cuts to several close up shots of parts of the canyon, these images are low contrast they are mostly orange without distinct harsh shadows. After the closeups, there are more aerial shots of the canyon. With each shot the valleys get shallower and the contrast lowers. The shadows are less distinct as the land flattens, the land also has more and greener as it gets flatter, one of the last canyon shot we see before the transition to the next chapter shows the sun rising over completely flat desert like land in the area. For this chapter the filmmakers used regression of contrast to create transition from one scene to the next. The flattening in land with the lowering in contrast also shows time and how what used to be vibrant, with harsh and distinct lines and shadows can fade and erode into flat land with no depth and no contrast. The next chapter is named clouds, they use water to transition from dry harsh land to the flowing clouds in the sky. The film shows rushing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Any proceeds after this claim will then be distributed to all common and Series E Preferred shareholders on an as converted pro rata basis. As a result, if the sale occurs before 2000, the profitability for A D tranches will be negatively impacted by the preferred characteristic in the Series E. Under the circumstance of an IPO, tranches C, D and E will convert to common at their negotiated prices while A B will be redeemed. A situation is funny because of the misinterpretation of someone s actions or the complete conflict of what a situation seems to be and what it really is. People come into contact with sight gags all the time. One might be trying to be sneaky and hide something and then when someone looks, one pretends to be doing something else not to get caught. One could also pantomime using an umbrella as a baseball bat. These are both basic forms of sight gags. This misunderstanding makes the scene funny when the man tells the woman to check her pockets and she is overjoyed to find money. The second sight gag discussed is the mimed metaphor, which is when an actor uses pantomime as a gag. For this, the actor uses an object that is very recognizable and pantomimes something that is not its proper use. This is a kind of visual simile, and is generally used in silent films more than sound films. The mimed metaphor is different from the mutual interface gag in that there are not multiple points of view to consider, they often do not result in mishaps, and commonly deal with objects rather than events. The mimed metaphor is used in the film The Count, in which at one point Chaplin s character uses his cane like a pool cue in order to hit an object off the table. At the beginning of The Immigrant Chaplin s character is hanging over the side of the boat. The audience gets the impression that he is seasick, however we soon learn that he is actually just fishing. This is a perfect example of switch image. According to the United States National Economic Council, these questions are complex and largely unverifiable, providing opportunities for gamesmanship, which is not reassuring to students seeking a fair evaluation of their ability to pay for college (2). This gamesmanship is fraud which exists because of questions that are known and acknowledged to be unverifiable. Those questions provide families the ability to illegitimately gain a lower EFC and, despite this, have remained on the FAFSA. The potential for fraud provides students with a choice they should not consider during their search for college funds. The FAFSA should not be a game of who can lie the most effectively, but a fair assessment of a student s ability to pay for college. Unfortunately, the former remains the case today. In fact, according to the United States National Economic Council, twelve of the top fifteen strategies for students to maximize their aid eligibility involves manipulating their family s measured assets (10). This quote highlights the fact that students and families are exploiting acknowledged flaws in an application which must be addressed in some manner. Our armed forces exist solely to ensure our nation is safe, so that each and every one of us can sleep soundly at night, knowing we have guardians at the gate, said Allen West,a retired Army lieutenant colonel and a former member of the House of Representatives. He explained America s need for a strong military perfectly in this quote. The United States depends on their military to protect them from all different kinds of threats like cyber warfare or terrorist attacks. In order to see why an increase in military spending is needed, one must look at the damaged equipment, the need for new and improved equipment and then look at what it would take to defeat ISIS. After the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the amount of damaged equipment was immense. The Army and the Marine Corps lost about 40 percent of their ground equipment from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. MRI has the ability to provide information on left ventricular function as well as regional profusion simultaneously (11). As this representation works with the theory of conceptual metaphors. Conceptual metaphors are metaphors that we have in our mind that allow us to produce and understand abstract concepts (Littlemore, 2008). The five main human emotions that are represented as characters inside an 11 year old girl brain are: Joy represented as a glowing yellow; Anger as red; Disgust as green; and Fear as purple. The film was released all over the world, gaining positive reviews from many different cultures. With these positive reviews, the question is asked are colours emotion metaphors universal? The purpose of this study is to test whether the cultural experiences of individuals result in different mental representations of colour emotion metaphors.
