Differences Between The Conservative Parties Policies And...
In Great Britain, there are several key political parties such as the Conservative Party, the Labour
Party, the Liberal Democrats and the Green Party. Each of these parties have many different
views, ideologies and policies that they believe would make Britain the best that it could be.
However only one of the many parties are able to get into government and implement what they
believe to be the best policies for the people of Britain. In this essay I will be looking at the
differences between the Conservative Parties policies and the Labour Parties policies as each of
these parties have very different views in how Great Britain should be governed. The Conservative

The Conservative party believes that the tax in Britain is too low and should be increased. They
believe that every household should pay a proportionate amount of tax based on the amount
they receive in income. The Conservatives are looking to introduce a policy where they cut
income tax for families allowing them to keep more of the money that they earn. This will
provide households with a better chance of providing for their families as they will have more
money to put towards them. (The Conservative Party Website, 2016) The Labour Party has a
very different view on the way that the people of Britain should be taxed. They believe that
British households should be taxed more if they earn over a certain amount of money. In Labours
2015 party manifesto they claim that they would make a fairer tax system where if people earned
over ВЈ150,000 a year then they would pay more in tax. (The Labour Party Website, 2016) This
would mean that the people who earn less would be able to keep more of their money as they
would not be paying as much tax as the people who earn more and in theory it would make the
poorer wealthier. The difference between the Conservative Party and the Labour Party s view on
tax is rather different. The Conservative party take the approach that everyone should pay tax but
everyone will all pay the same amount whereas the Labour Party want to increase the

Examples Of Misrepresentations In Haitian Poetry
Poetry have been a major tool for many Haitian writers to express the triumphs that they have and
are recently faced with, addressing misrepresentations that may have developed about Haiti, and to
give them a sense of hope and encouragement. In most Haitian poems you see the correlation of
these actions taking place in the defense of Haiti. Haiti has been a country who overcame many
obstacles such as; slavery, the Haitian revolution, recently the earthquake are continuing to go
through many more obstacles. Haiti as a whole have been a country for many years that have
been up lifting each other in various way, and poetry have been one of many of those ways.
Patrick Sylvain, Emmanuel Ejen, Devorah Major, and Rudwaan are examples of Haitian poets
who paint a picture in a positive light or even to portray a message of truth. In their poems Ports
of Sorrow , We be Spirit People , Haiti: Statistics of loss and WONGOL all are poems with
similar messages in different aspects of light. The poem Ports of Sorrow by Patrick Sylvain is a
poem about the pain that was developed from the earthquake in Haiti and morn the lives of the
people that were lost and a beautiful country that was destroyed. We be Spirit People by
Rudwaan is based on the Haitian revolutionary war, which was a war fought by enslaved Haitian
who defeated Napoleons army, Spanish and English as well and as a result in 1804 Haiti became
the first black independent country in the world. This poem sheds light on

Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents
In the novel How The Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents by Julia Alvarez; Sandra Sandi Garcia, the
second eldest daughter of the Garcia family. An accent is something that embodies you, but it
does not have to be a physical aspect of oneself. It can be a talent that let s others know who you
are what is special about you. To lose one s accent is to lose something that represents oneself; a
symbol of who that person is. Sandi s accent was her artwork. When she was forced to go to the
art class with her cousins and broke her arm, in this her moment she lost her accent. Fasting
forward to the future Sandi just wants to fit it with her sisters and look like them. Their is a

Art was the one thing that set her apart from her sisters and her other family members. This
made her feel special, as if she was the only person that possessed this ability. In the moments
before Sandi broke her arm she was peering into Don Jose s shed watching him work on his
sculpture while being chained to the shed. Don Jose begins to use Sandi s face for inspiration on
his sculpture. In this moment she is being broken from her previous self to then become the
person someone else choose for her to be. Breaking her arm is symbolic of breaking who is she
at this point in her childhood. Even after she broke her arm, it had to be broken again so that it
was able to heal the correct way. Sandi s accent was further broken at this point causing her to
heal as a new person. The experience of being unable to perform her passion made her rethink the
person she wanted to be when her cast was removed. When the cast was removed Sandi no longer
had the longing desire to create art; her previous self being broken and forgotten. Something that

Cinematography Research Paper
The Importance of Cinematography
Without studying the details of film, one may ask what is cinematography. Cinematography is the
art of making motion pictures. There are many features that go on in making a film. A
cinematographer has a big role in making the film come together with certain camera movements
and lighting elements. Cinematography is one of the most important aspects of film. People should
be more interested in cinematography because there are so many intricate details that go into
making a film special and that is because of and camera angles and movements, color, and different
types of shots.
When breaking down cinematography, a cinematographer should first analyze what he/she wants to
do with the the different shots, scenes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of these shots include, extreme close up (ECU), medium shot (MS), establishing shot
(ES), and long shot (LS). Extreme close up is what a person may assume it is. It is used in
filmmaking to focus on a particular detail of a subject. In many cases, ECUs are very intimate
and are best used cautiously. Medium shot, also known as waist shot, is also what it sounds like.
It is a shot from a medium distance and includes the body from the knees or waist up. An
establishing shot may be one that people aren t as familiar with. An establishing shot is a usually
long shot in film or video used at the beginning of a sequence to establish an overview of the
scene that follows (Merriam Webster). One other shot a cinematographer should consider using is
a long shot. A LS is a shot from a great distance, which makes people seem to appear more like
shapes then people. This type of shot is used to emphasize the environment and setting of a

Affirmative Action Essay
Affirmative action is the nation s most ambitious attempt to redress its long history of racial and

establishment of this policy, society is plagued with the issues of whether affirmative action is
necessary, whether it is a benefit or detriment to society, and why it incites rather then eases the
nation s internal dilemmas after so many years of having been in effect. In the following paragraphs

Analysis of The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks
For this month s book report I read a book called The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks.
This book was about a boy named Omri and his small Indian toy.
For Omri s birthday he received a small Indian toy from a friend and a small cupboard from his
brother. Omri put his Indian in the cupboard and to his surprise when he opened the cupboard the
Indian toy had come to life.
Omri has to keep his Indian a secret for fear of an adult finding out. When Omri told his friend
Patrick about the toy, Patrick wanted his own. Omri thought it was a bad idea but brought the toy to
life anyway. When Omri brought Patrick s cowboy toy to life, Patrick was very excited, but Omri ...

I think that a story about something that could never happen in real life always is more interesting
and attracts more readers.
The author described things well in this book, but this book was a bit easy to read because she
didn t use difficult words. This sometimes would not allow for you to know exactly how she meant
for things to appear.
The setting of this story is in modern day England. The book did not really describe what time
period it was supposed to be, but it seemed relatively modern. I think the book was set in a
moderately sized town, because Omri walked to school everyday, and if it were a big city this
would be an impossible task for a young boy. The setting wasn t very important to the book because
most of the story was about people and not necessarily their environment.
There were many characters in this book. The main character in this book was Omri. Omri was
a normal young boy who was interested in playing cowboys and Indians, and other games like
that. His friend, Patrick, was interested in the same things, but Patrick wasn t as nice and he was a
bit bossy and pushy. He forced Omri into making a live toy for him. Omri had a brother named
Adiel. Adiel didn t like Omri that much and one time in the story he hid Omri s cupboard because
he thought Omri had taken his football shorts. Another character in this book was the headmaster.
The headmaster was a very strict person, but he wasn t unkind.

Thoreau Rhetorical Analysis
In Thoreau s speech From Resistance to Civil Government, the most famous sentence might be: If
one HONEST man, in this State of Massachusetts, ceasing to hold slaves, were actually to
withdraw from this co partnership, and be locked up in the country jail, therefor, it would be the
abolition of slavery in America. Well, if I were to standing by him at that moment, there is one
question I want to ask him: you, as the one HONEST man, has visited the jail already, then are you
still giving this speech? Why hasn t slaverybe abolished by now? Therefore, we can see that
although Thoreau advocates for the power of individual changes, he knows it is going to take
collective effort for any significant changes to happen. Everyone knows, including him, that one
person s withdraw of support from the governmentcan never result in abolition; it will take a
thousand people. However, Thoreau recognizes that because of this way of thinking, people have
been seeing themselves as a dispensable agent. They will never take action if they keep waiting
for more people to get on board in the revolution. Thus, to break this death cycle, Thoreau tries to
shift people s attention away from believing that majority effort is needed, and instead makes
people believe that one single personis all it takes to change everything, even though it was in fact
not the case. The first step Thoreau takes to foster people s beliefs of their own power, is to
compare government as an machine that has friction . By equating the government as just a
machine, Thoreau invites his audience to see government as an artificial invention whose entire
existence is to function and serve people s need. Then, Thoreau asserts that when the machine is a
little friction , people can ignore it, because it is still in their best interest to keep it running; but
when the friction comes to have its machine , we need to repair this machine. Obviously, he think it
was the time to take action immediately against slavery and the Mexican war. In order to
encourage people to stop paying taxes immediately, he has to eliminate people s fear toward acting
against the authority. So Thoreau uses this metaphor as a illusion to debunk the fearsome image of
government

Miss Brill Commentary
Miss Brill by Katherine Mansfield illustrates the story of a woman who goes out out on a Sunday
afternoon and sees the world as a play, with everyone and herself acting out their roles. She wears a
fur which the author mentions throughout the story, and Miss Brill s realization of her loneliness is
only shown at the end of the story as she takes it off. Mansfield employs the techniques of
characterization, imagery, and motifs to express the theme of human alienation in society.
Mansfield uses the technique of characterization to express how the character Miss Brill is eccentric,
judgmental, and in denial of herself, that she isn t what she thinks she is. Miss Brill is
characterized as jubilant, as she describes her fur as a little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Once they insult her fur, Miss Brill doesn t express her feelings of alienation from society, but the
description of her room added to her crying exhibits a significant change in mood from the
beginning of the short story, when she was excited to spend her afternoon on the bench.
Miss Brill s fur is a motif throughout the story, making significance as it is what Miss Brill puts
on as her mask to go out and try to fit in. At the beginning, Miss Brill had taken it out of its box
that afternoon, shaken out the moth powder, given it a good brush, and rubbed the life back into
the dim little eyes. Mansfield illustrates Miss Brill s peppiness, and she is as happy to wear her
own fur as she is to go out on her Sunday afternoons to take part in the play and act like she has a
place in society; even though others don t see her the same way she sees herself. She had
previously described her fur as luxurious, admiring it, though the young girl she was admiring
says It s her fu ur which is so funny, ... It s exactly like a fried whiting. . Miss Brill thinks she s a
part of the play and has confidence when she wears the fur, but other characters don t see the
same way she does. Mansfield shows the reader that what Miss Brill thinks is not necessarily true,
as the story is told in third person limited. Miss Brill s mask that she puts on is her fur, and when
she goes home, she turns back into the person she really is. Mansfield

The Theory Of Reasoned Action
Following this, (2) The Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) was developed by both Martin
Fishbein and Icek Ajzen, and it is one of the three classic persuasion models of psychology, and is
also used in communication discourse as a theory of understanding persuasive messages. It explains
the relationship between attitudes and behaviors with human action. This theory is also used to
predict how people will behave based on his/hers pre existing attitudes and behavioral intentions.
The decision to engage in a particular behavioris based on the outcomes the individual expects will
come as a result of performing the behavior. Behavioral intent is allegedly created or caused by two
main factors, which include our attitudes and our subjective norms. Some key constructs for this
theory include; attitude toward the behavior (outcome expectations and value of outcome
expectations), subjective norms (beliefs of others, and desire to comply with others). Last, we have
the (3) Theory of Planned Behavior. The Theory of Planned Behavior, also known as (TPB), is a
concept proposed by Icek Ajzen that link beliefs and behavior. It was added to the Theory of
Reasoned action to address the inadequacies of the existing model. It is one of the most influential
and popular conceptual frameworks for the study of human actions. This theory proposes a model,
which can measure how human actions are guided and details the determinants of an individual s
decision to enact a particular behavior. Attitudes,

Several kinds of social media are around nowadays, however, not all of them are effective in

Benefit from Social media
In the first place, what type of company dose use social media? Even though social media is
prominent in business nowadays, it is not for all business. For example, if a company in niche
market has business with only a few customers, a direct communication or advertising is more
efficient and effective rather than using social media. Furthermore, using social media has some
risks too, such as illegal act or the abuse of social media by employees. Thus a company has to
ensure the environment is managed in accordance with use of social media.
Social media will bring an enormous profit to a company once the right social media is used in the
right way and right place. There are four benefits of using social media,
Low cost and higher spread rate of information
Raising brand awareness

Illegal Immigration Is An Example Of One Of Many Things...
Introduction
Illegal immigration is defined as the journey of people through nationwide borders in a way that
violates the immigration regulations. Most states have many illegal immigrants. Immigration, as
well as illegal immigration, is overwhelmingly rising, from a minor to a wealthier country. On the
other hand, illegal immigrants tend not to be the poorest in the residents they move away from.
Illegal immigration has many negative and positive effects everywhere it is.
Crime is an example of one of many things illegal immigration has an effect on. The Rio Grande
valley is affected in many ways because of the effects illegal immigration brings, some of those
effects include public effects, financial effects, political effects, environmental effects among
others. There s many sides to the problems Illegal immigration brings, not only does it affect people
living there but it mostly affects all the other immigrants wanting a better life for themselves.

The pathos that Mock uses also leads to imagery because she is showing the audience how
people today view Christmas as a season with Frosty the snowman and Rudolph instead of it
being viewed as the birth of Christ. As Mock explains that the supreme court decided that the
government could place Christian symbols on buildings for holiday purposes she uses irony to
point out her views on this. Mock wonders, why such government displays are necessary asks do
Christians really need baby Jesus on the courthouse steps to remind them of his birth? This is irony
because she is informing the audience of why it is necessary for Christianity symbols to be
displayed everywhere when Christians should already be celebrating the birth of Jesus and talk
about it among their family. Irony is used to inform the audience that the state and church should be
separated because there is no point in the government wasting money to show that they support the
Christmas season. Overall Mock purpose is to persuade the audience that Christian symbols should

Race In The Last Of The Mohicans
The issue of race is an important idea in The Last of the Mohicans and can be shown through the
characters view of a person and obedience and goodness and intelligence and how they act. Each

and whether they are seen as intelligent or not. Also, there could be inter Indian racismwith the

Our first question is does race determine whether a character is good or bad? In the book, we see the

the Huron who are bad and are attacking the Mohicans.

Summary Of Terwilliger Bunts One By Annie Dillard
In Terwillinger Bunts One, Annie Dillard illustrates her childhood life while living with her
mother. While spending time with her mother and father, Dillard recalls her father listening to the
ball game. When the announcer of the ball game cries with passion, Terwilliger bunts one! Dillard
s mother starts repeating the phrase multiple times with passion. Dillard states that her mother
often used quirky sayings or different dialect to show that her and her sister did not know
everything. Dillard s mother would repeatedly use different sayings and phrasing to keep her
family on their toes. Dillard states that in the end everything her mother had done had a purpose to

Dillard recalls her mother stirring things up by stating, When without forethought she gave a

almost a sense of her mother not having a care in the world. Dillard later on describes her
mother by stating, She dearly loved to fluster people by throwing out a game s rules at whim
when she was getting bored, losing in a dull sort of way, and when everybody else was taking it
too seriously. If you turned your back, she moved the checkers around on the board. This shows
how quirky and fun loving Dillard s mother acted. The lessons that can be learned by these simple
actions are to not take everything so seriously, and to not care what others thought. While imagery

Persuasive Essay On Energy Conservation
I am not surprised that the jury is still out on the convenience and comfort of energy conservation
since the confidence in coal, oil and nuclear power has been shaken over the years. The extraction
methods used in fracking and shale oil reserves should be under investigation by United States
because he landowners are constantly approached by unscrupulous companies eager to drill for oil
and natural gasbut with no clean up requirement enforced by the state and federal laws. The
New York Times articles outlines concerns and doubts as a result of this natural gas rush.
California, Colorado and a host other states are rushing to join the United States natural gas
boom. I believe that the shift from coal to gas is a great investment not to be ignored by the
United States, China and other developing countries. Errors are great opportunities to ensure the
efficient transferring of knowledge. Liquid energy is part of our life and ignoring the importance
will not solve the problems that can arise from faulty extracting methods. Our ancestors over a
century ago considered natural gas a waste product in oil fields however the discovery of a large
gas Vautor Laplaceliere 2
Field in the Panhandle in 1918 opened avenues for its use in the manufacturing of car tires and
home heating. Nevertheless coal, oil, and nuclear power remained the important source of energy.

Analysis Of Donald Trump s Politics As A Vocation
In the days following the United States presidential election, many Americans voiced their disbelief
that Donald Trump, a man longtime considered a political joke and nuisance, won the election. But
despite his brashness, entire lack of eloquence, and discriminatory tendencies, Trump was in fact
elected. Many of Trump s supporters attribute his success to his fundamentally different approach to
politics and leadership. Max Webers lecture, Politics as a Vocation, provides an explanation of
how Trump s campaign was successful, why he is perceived as refreshing and different by his
supporters, and how these same supporters were able to overlook Trump s flaws. Weber defines in
his lecture, three ideal types of authority; traditional, legal, and charismatic. Traditional authority
can be associated with Hillary Clinton and her institutionalized style of politics, while Trump is
aligned with charismatic authority. Trump s charismatic leadership style contrasts the traditional
American political approach which contributes to the perception of him as working against the
status quo rather than for it. Weber s description of how... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be sure, Weber s description of charismatic leadership does not account for all of the forces at
play during the election, but his theory does shed light on why many individuals view Trump s
style of leadership as different and necessary in this current political moment. Weber s discussion of
the charismatic leader as an infallible authority with a perceived legitimate claim of power
highlights why Trump supporters endorsed his rhetoric despite its many logical, political, and
ethical flaws. Yet, according to Weber, Trump s current style of leadership and authority cannot last
in the long term. This may be a comforting or concerning notion, but nonetheless, sheds light on
what may occur during the Trump

To His Coy Mistress Rhetorical Analysis
In the 1600 s when Andrew Marvell was alive, the estimated life expectancy was a lot shorter
than it is in the present. Marvell s poem To His Coy Mistress is a dramatic monologue about not
having enough time in his life to enjoy his mistress. Even if he lived a longer life there would
never be enough time. The poem as a whole consists of forty six lines and is filled with imagery.
The images that are invoked by the narrator are in no way ordinary in their description. They
rouse compelling feelings of yearning and want. It also brings a persuasive feeling to the table.
The persuasiveness would not be as affective without the superb work of imagery used by Andrew
Marvell. The first two lines of the poem Had we but world enough, and time,/ This coyness, lady,
were no crime allows the reader to see into the mind of the narrator for a brief moment. He thinks
he is the victim of the Lady s reserved nature. He wants to persuade her to have sex with him
while using reverse psychology to prompt her to think it is her own fault for not doing it in the
first place. Instead of using phrases that give images of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The imagery in these lines goes to the narrator and mistress primal instincts and how they should
act on those. The word amorous means a person is more inclined to sexual love. It is in this line
that we really see the lust the narrator has for the mistress. He just doesn t understand that this
woman will not give up her virginity for him even though her time is running out. They should not
hold back the emotion between them while they have the time to do so. At every pore with instant
fires,/ Now let us sport us while we may (36 37) this lines imagery refers back to the dust and ashes
in the second stanza. The question arises that the fire burning within them could ultimately lead to
the death of both the narrator and mistress in the

Is Bridget jones nothing more than Pride and Prejudice in...
Love and marriage is the theme of the best selling book Bridget Jones Diary by Helen Fielding
and the critically acclaimed novel Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. There are numerous
similarities between the two yet they are set in different eras. Despite this, the young women in
both texts have to deal with family and people in their social circles pressurising them to meet the
ideal man or love interest.
Each story revolves around the main female characters, Bridget Jones and Elizabeth Bennet. In pride
prejudice, the financial status of the women was more of an issue when it came to finding an ideal
partner, than it was in Bridget Jones Diary. The Bennets were not very financially secure, so Mrs
Bennet would arrange or attend parties ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nowadays, this has changed as Bridget s love life with her boyfriend Daniel Cleaver, affects no
one but herself and she is not concerned how her relationship with him will affect her parents.
In both texts the men have very high expectations of the women they want to date or court, and
seem to disregard women who do not reach these standards. An example of this is when Bridget
overhears Mark Darcy talking about her to his mother remarking on how inappropriate her
language is and how dependable she is on alcohol and cigarettes. Mother I do not need a blind
date. Particularly not with some verbally incontinent spinster who drinks like a fish, smokes like
a chimney and dresses like her mother. Mark doesn t want to be associated or fixed up with Bridget
as she does not fit his ideal.
Equally, Mr Darcy tells his friend Mr Bingley how outspoken and rude the Bennet girls are, and
how he dislikes the family. He makes this known to Elizabeth by refusing to dance with her.
Indeed, sir, I have not the least intention of dancing. I entreat you not to suppose that I moved this
way in order to beg for a partner. Mr Darcy replied with this, when asked if he would like to dance
with her.
Mr Darcy feels Elizabeth is of a lower status than himself, and looks down on her for that, in the
same way that Mark does on Bridget preferring to keep friendship with his more likely partner
Natasha his work colleague.
Bridget feels personally, that she is

The Government As An Intermediate Agency
The government is an intermediate agency which has the main, though by no means the exclusive,
responsibility for society s adherence to the principles which favour increased autonomy and
respect for people s choices.
When one thinks about the work of governments throughout history, they look like extremely
obnoxious, or at least dangerous, artefacts, for which the need, and, consequently, the conditions
and limits, require moral justification. The mere fact that the government prescribes something to
us does not morally justify our doing it (though it may prudentially justify it, and therefore, in
some cases it may morally excuse it). The decision to obey a government must be an autonomous
one one that, like any decision which can affect other people, we should justify on the basis of a
freely accepted moral principle. But if this is so, to what extent are we really obeying the
government and not simply governing ourselves? And if the moral person always governs himself,
what, for him, is the moral relevance of having a government (besides solving co ordination
problems or altering the factual setting)?
The era of wars and terrorism was followed by segregation, racial sub ordination, and complacence.
One report written by senior civil servants in 1934 for the Department of Health actually suggested
that the eugenics policies of the Nazi Germany should be adopted in the UK. In 1927 Westminster

Questions On Teaching And Classical Players
This article discusses 8 vital things to remember as improvisers whether advanced or just getting
started:
1. Your technique is probably miles ahead of your ability to think.
This isn t just true for classical players. I ve known lots and lots (and lots) of jazz players who
have let their technique run the show as opposed to their brains.
Happens all the time.
With players who are just beginning to improvise, this is vital to keep in mind. Slow down! Even at
furious tempi, you can long meter melodic phrases that dance and skip over the fast tempo thinking
them in real time. And you can have great precision and musicality in doing so.
FYI, most players who play so fast you are asking yourself how can they think that stuff in real
time probably aren t really thinking that stuff in real time. Most are performing a memorized, yet
impressive move. Sort of a human software, sub routine call. To me, not the real thing.
Personally, I d rather listen to simple ideas that are inspired than impressive, over thought, over
prepared ideas any day. Particularly when they are masquerading as
improvisation.
2. You will be playing unexpected notes (mistakes) in the best of situations.
Yes, I know, we re supposed to KNOW what we are doing. But to get good at anything, we have to
stretch, and stretching means taking risks, and taking risks means making mistakes.
Over time, you really will be able to hear a melody and execute it flawlessly. But by then, you ll be

Boating Research Paper
Summer brings great weather which means an increase in recreational boating activity, there can
be many dangers while boating, both from forces outside your boat and from things on your boat.
Here are some suggestions for staying safe on the water during the boating season. The number
one tip for staying safe out on the water is to always wear a life jacket while boating. You should
make sure that there are enough personal flotation devices (PFDs) readily accessible on your boat
for everyone out on the water with you. PFDs must be Coast Guard approved, in good and

The fire extinguisher should be mounted somewhere readily accessible and away from the galley

problems from you gasoline system as well. If your boat uses gasoline for electrical generation,
mechanical power, or propulsion, then you need a ventilation system. Depending on your boat, you
ll either need a natural ventilation system (a supply opening or an exhaust opening) or a powered
ventilation system. Check with the Coast Guard for information on your boat. In order to avoid
carbon monoxide poisoning, carry a carbon monoxide detector. The gas, which is odorless and
colorless, can kill in minutes. Sources of carbon monoxide include improperly vented exhaust or
combustion, ranging from fires to barbecue grills. Before you head out on the water, always
check the weather forecast. Calm seas can turn into rough waters. Listen carefully to all weather
and storm advisories. Your life raft should be checked annually to make sure it s in good working
condition. A friend or family member should always know your trip plans before you leave. They

Wheel Alignment
Wheel Alignment | Mechanics Lewisville, TX
The jolt to a vehicle s suspension from hitting a large pothole or a curb can throw your car s
wheels out of alignment and damage your tires over time. When a vehicle s front end is out of
alignment, tires will wear unevenly and handling problems are possible. Furthermore, a misaligned
front end can increase wear and tear on front suspension components, increasing the cost of repairs.
Safe driving depends on preventive care and maintenance of the vehicle, including wheel alignment
and the tires. Properly maintained tires improve the steering, braking, and traction of the vehicle.

If the thrust angle is not zero the steering wheel will not be centered. Fifth Gear mechanics in

The importance of a four wheel alignment was not realized until front wheel drive vehicles

Essay on The Affect of Child Labor on the World
The Affect of Child Labor on the World
Introduction
Child labor is a very hot topic in today s world. The problems associated with child labor have
always been a part of life but thanks to Globalization, everyone is now more aware of the child
labor issues that exist. Whether an individual is in favor or against child labor the fact is that child
labor affects everyone, because child labor affects the global economy. Children who work play a
big role in the economy because they produce goods and are paid wages just like adults; they are an
active participant of the work force.

Children in the work force are not necessarily a bad thing. Some children by free want and like
to work, but the potential for exploitation and violation of civil rights can be very high in the
some work places. As mentioned earlier children in many cases work to help their family and
the experience can be a very pleasant one. This all depends on many things such as the age of
the child, the hours worked, the conditions, and the ability to still attend school. On the other
hand many children are forced into work. With bonded labor a family in need of money would
be given advanced payment and then turn over a child to work for the employer to repay this
debit. Most of the time it is nearly impossible for the child to pay off this debit because the
interest that is deducted forms the child s earnings is very large. There are also other forms of
slavery that children must endure such as being denied the right to leave the workplace or being
confined and beaten by the employer. Other adverse conditions that some children face are working
extremely long hours and handling dangerous materials such as chemicals, pesticides. These
conditions are usually seen by children who work in mines and agriculture. Some of the after
affects that children who work in these kinds of conditions face could

hence, everyone will find their own definition of what is funny. Though, there are usually socially
acceptable things to laugh at and to not within a community. For example, in America, it is not
socially acceptable to laugh if you find out someone has died, or if someone is severely injured.

Benefits of Cloning Essay
Benefits of Cloning
What if while walking down the street you encountered someone who looked exactly like you?
Would you stare in amazement or would your heart be filled with fear? At first some people may
look upon the idea of cloning with disgust and question themselves if humans should play God
while others would be interested and study the many possibilities that cloning offers. This illustrates
the path that cloning has taken over the latter part of the twentieth century. At first, when cloning
was brought up in conversations, people tended to fearfully think of an army of identical persons
marching across the earth in hopes of ruling humans. This and many other absurd notions of clones
stem from science fiction movies and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since then people think that biologists are cloning both human and other mammal s embryos only
to see how far they can push the scientific envelope, but in fact there are many legitimate reasons
for investigating cloning. Embryologists believe that research into cloning could help improve the
life of future generations. Cancer research is possibly the most important reason for embryo cloning
they argue. Oncologists believe that embryonic study will advance understanding of the rapid cell
growth of cancer. Cancer cells develop at approximately the same phenomenal speed as embryonic
cells do. By studying the embryonic cell growth, scientists may be able to determine how to stop
rapid cell division, and also stop cancer growth in turn (Hyde 15). Another important area of
embryo cloning research is embryonic stem cell development. Stem cells are undifferentiated cells
that can develop into almost any type of cell in the body. These cells are not attacked by a person s
immune system, because of their fast development and undifferentiated status (Wilmut 4). Many
doctors believe that these stem cells could be used in treatments for brain and nervous system
damage.
Perhaps a more questionable use of cloned embryos is for spare parts and hormones. Production of
transgenic farm animals to make organs to transplant in humans with organ failure has been heavily
researched. Companies

For Whom The Bell Tolls Rhetorical Analysis
Times of war have a way of stripping people of their empathy. In For Whom the Bell Tolls, Ernest
Hemingway discusses the topic of ethical decay and its effect on people during the Spanish Civil
War. Ultimately, he produces a message that brings awareness to the inhumanity that humans
perpetrate in response to a conflict of interests. He examines this topic through the
characterization of Maria, Lieutenant Berrendo, and Robert Jordan. Maria is an important
character who has lost her innocence against her will. In one of her first major interactions with
Robert, Maria goes dead in his arms, [saying] But things were done to me... by various [people] ...

blasphemies (Hemingway 318). The captain s behavior is seen by his troops as a sin which
they regularly confessed (Hemingway 318). Here, Berrendo bears firsthand witness to the moral
decay that is the result of the civil war, as his captain slanders an invisible enemy in a way that is
sinful. Just as the Guardia was driven by hatred to tear apart Maria s village, the captain is
driven to slander the Virgen because of his hatred for his Communist enemies. In turn, his moral
compass decays and he begins down the same path of inhumane activity as the Guardia. The only
difference in this scene is that Berrendo is cognizant at least of the captain s immediate ethical

Berrendo to keep his faith and maintain his personal morality even as morality itself collapses in
the battle around him. Indeed, Berrendo keeps his faith until the end of this scene, when he is

Choosing An Agent For A Fun Ride
My husband and I knew we were going to be in for a fun ride since we were first time home
buyers. For some time we had been preparing for this immense steep to take. Before we even
knew it, it was time to purchase a home. We had done some home searching online, looking at
the different price ranges of homes, their locations, and the square footage, crime rates for
different areas, schools among others. We thought we were ready. Choosing an Agent to help us
in the process was an easy task, it only took a couple of phones calls. Knowing what we wanted
in a house was also an easy task; we had a price range and our list of what our dream house would
need to have was fairly simple. Three houses we re on our list; a cottage style home, a very
particular ghostly house and our now home. The first home was a warm and inviting cottage style
home. Its light blue chipped paint, showed that this house had not been vacated or taken care of
for some time, its red foreclose sign in the yard clarified it. The first thing you could noticed as you
walked through the arched framed front door was the wood flooring throughout the dining and
living room. The house had three rooms, one in each level of the house; main, second and basement.
The spacious master bedroomwas upstairs, with more windows than walls. We loved it, all that
bright sunlight gave the impression that the room was bigger than already was. The other bedroom

United States And The Open Skies Agreements Essay
The United States has numerous Open Skies agreements with most countries around the globe. The
agreements allow foreign airlines to fly to the U.S. with few, if any, restrictions from the U.S.
government and U.S. carriers to fly to foreign countries, also with little or no government
restrictions. However, many of the U.S. carriers, such as Delta, American, and United, believe that
the Open Skies agreements have some major loopholes, allowing the few subsidized airlines, such
as Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Etihad, to fly to the United States, as well as numerous other
countries across the globe, at lower operating costs than their non subsidized competition have to
pay for the same route. These agreements also allow the practice of fifth freedom operations. Fifth
freedom operations permit one airlineto fly from their home country to another participating
country, drop off and pick up passengers, fly to a second participating country and then fly the
whole route in reverse. These routes are known as fifth freedom routes. Since they oppose the idea
of fifth freedom routes, Delta, American, and United [the U.S. Three] all want the U.S.
government to limit the number of flights these Persian Gulf carriers can operate to the U.S.

Authors can convey abstract ideas or non existent characters to life with the assistance of rhetorical

Pointing towards the king s chamber covered in blood, Macbeth acknowledges the dagger s
presence and communicates with it. With mixed feelings, Macbeth encounters contradicting
thoughts on executing the king in effort to gain power. The dagger symbolizes Macbeth s bloody

creates a motif of deception throughout the play. Closely related with apostrophe, personification is
a rhetorical device used to give human characteristics to objects, inanimate ideas, and animals.
Apostrophe is a term used when a speaker directly addresses someone or something that is not

personified, given human characteristics, with human abilities to dance. Thus, we can say that the

and history. As a foreigner who never had the opportunity to talk to someone older than 50; it s a
pleasure to see how thing will end up. Initially, I am not expecting much nor less from the
conversations, but to my wonders, it opened my eye quite a bit to how different culture have a
different style of generationcore values and perspectives in life. And as a Thailand born Taiwanese
college student who flew all the way from Asia to America, this is a blessing to experience.
My intergenerational partner, Carolyn Zeiger, is 73 years young and a retired licensed
psychologist. She used to work as a meditative practitioner for individuals who has Parkinson s
Disease. Carolyn is a Silent, and I am glad that we have something in common even before we
meet in person. As the students pair up with their intergenerational partner, I scanned the room
attempting to find a lady with short white hair and a pair of glasses (Based on her photo I saw in
the intergenerational webpage). Like a child looking for his parents, I spotted Carolyn, and she
made eye contact with me. She is a bit shorter than me, and her voice is astoundingly calm and
soothing. Both of us introduced ourselves, and we sat down to further talk about our lives. My first
impression was that my partner is highly educated,

Similarities Between The Tempest And Frankenstein
Affection blossoms day by day for most relationships, but not all. While some people remain joyful
and pleased in their relationships, Frankenstein and his creature in Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
and Prospero and Caliban in The Tempest by Shakespeare once showed these characteristics, but
conflicts began to grow that turned into complete hatred. As a result of the disputes, it identified
how the creators are similar, how the creation of the creatures are comparable, and how the
relationships between the creator and the creature in each story are related.
To start off, Frankensteinand Prospero share many unique qualities within their stories.
Frankenstein made his creature to be powerful amongst all other human beings. Nonetheless, he

The creature responded to Dr. Frankenstein and said, I was benevolent and good; misery made
me a fiend. Make me happy, and I shall again be virtuous. Frankenstein replied, Begone! I will not
hear you. There can be no community between you and me; we are enemies. Begone, or let us try
our strength in a fight, in which one must fall. The creature states that misery caused him to be
furious, but the goodness inside him never went away when it comes to Dr. Frankenstein. On the
other hand, the creator said that they are no longer acquaintances, but rather rivals. The same
scenario can be said for Prospero and Caliban. Caliban reacted to Prospero s evil doings by using
his knowledge against him. Caliban s maleficent tone claimed, Which first was mine own king,
and here you sty me... You taught me language, and my profit on t Is I know how to curse. The
red plague rid you For learning me your language! He mentions that Prospero was once his king,
which he had great respect for. Nevertheless, Caliban uses his intelligence taught from Prospero as
both revenge and satisfaction.
In conclusion, Frankenstein s and Prospero s similarities and the creation of the creature s, in
Frankenstein, and Caliban s, in The Tempest, similarities all affect the inclusive relationships as a
whole between creator and creature. Their companionship began as joyous and solicitous, but the
creators turned into vile characters, opposing their own partners that they once cared for

United States Of The African American Male Students Essay
Upon the premise of further exploration, Mari Ann Roberts found a definition of what is meant to
care for underachieving African American male students. Roberts surveyed eight African American
teachers to attain their point of view of what it meant to care for their students which included
informing them about how to survive in the racismof the United States of America that they will
and are exposed to (Roberts 456). The discussion of political clarity was addressed by several
teachers to help students understand the importance of education and emphasized that they
believed, for Black people, academic achievement would eventually equal equality (Roberts 458).
It should be noted the research identified teachers believed: informing the students about socio
political/colour talk matters helped them to understand as African Americans you have to work
harder to make it in the U.S (Roberts 458). Finally, this study points out students needed to be
pushed to work harder and encouraged to change their demeanor to not give Caucasians reason to
hurt them in any fashion as far as advancing academically (Roberts 458). Several participants
encouraged and demonstrated code switching suggesting
Students change their speech, dress or behaviour to reflect a more Europeanised or neutral
background for the purposes of occupational or educational advancement. The moral implications of
encouraging students to act outside themselves are complex, as are the cultural connotations of

Case Study Questions
1: How do the IT investment strategies and focus of FedEx and its main competitor UPS differ?
Which Company has the better strategy? Why?
The chief information officer of FedEx, Rob Carter states that the IT investment strategies are
customer based technologies. FedEx focuses less on operational technology and more on revenue
generating, customer satisfaction, and strategic advantage technology (O’Brien 43). UPS
is a much larger company that focuses on operations and the bottom line. UPS is constantly playing
catch up with FedEx by mimicking their strategic advantage technology to stay in competition. This
means FedEx always has a head start or the upper hand in the competitive advantage.
FedEx has the best ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Is this a good vision for FedEx? Why or why not? How vital is IT to this definition of FedEx S
business? Use examples from the case to illustrate your answer.
The idea that Carter believes FedEx is in the business of engineering time is a good business
vision for FedEx because the world and its technology is always changing. With technology comes
managing and engineering time, keeping up with the changes in the society we live in. This is a
good vision for FedEx because when society changes, FedEx acts upon it, communicates and keeps
moving forward. They keep up with society and technology changes by innovating new ideas to
remain competitive. FedEx believes in offering solutions that allow you to engineer time so things
can happen that weren’t able to happen in the past (Carter/O’Brien 44).
Information technology is very important to this definition of FedEx’s business.
Information technology is seen as a competitive advantage for FedEx. FedEx’s main and
biggest competitor is UPS, and in second is DHL. Both companies are continually trying to make
the challenges harder for FedEx and in particular CIO Rob Carter. UPS and FedEx have been at
battle on technology especially customer based technology. “We tend to focus slightly less
on operational technology. We focus a little more on revenue generating, customer satisfaction
generating, strategic advantage technology (Carter/O’Brien Pg. 43). Carter believes in

Characteristics Of Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) was developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan in the 1980 s based on
her biosocial theory of borderline personality disorder (BPD; Linehan, 1993a, 1993b). DBT utilizes
a number of therapeutic techniques and skill development to target deficits in emotion regulation
and monitoring affective states. An important underlying assumption of DBT is that emotionally
vulnerable individuals learn maladaptive coping strategies (i.e., parasuicidal behaviours) as a way
to mitigate strong emotional reactions. Therefore, DBT attempts to develop more adaptive coping
strategies that encourage a person to build a life that they experience as worth living (Behavioral
Tech, 2017).
The fundamental components of traditional DBT are based upon cognitive behavioral therapy
(CBT), acceptance, and dialectics (Linehan, 1993a). DBT implements traditional CBT techniques
that emphasize change, including skills training, exposure therapy, as well as cognitive and
contingency therapy (Linehan, 1993b; Rathus Miller, 2002). However, Linehan et al. (1991)
recognized that when clients were provided CBT alone, they often became distressed and dropped
out of treatment. This dilemma led Linehan to identify that when there was a balance between
change and validation, clients were far more likely to engage as well as remain in treatment
(Linehan et al., 1991). Accordingly, validation and acceptance became another principal component
of DBT, with a focus of developing a balance between

Guyana Research Paper
Guyana, South America
Guyana is a sovereign state located on the North East corner of South America. Guyana, which is
bordered by the Atlantic ocean, Brazil, Suriname and Venezuela; is the fourth smallest country in
South America and the only english speaking region of South America. Due to its strong cultural
and historical ties with the caribbean community, Guyana is considered a member of the west
indies. Guyana s main economic assets have always been their rainforest, sugarcane plantations,
rice fields, bauxite and gold; however the country remains to be one of the poorest countries in
South America. As of 2015 Guyana was ranked 127 on the Human Development Index (HDI) with
35% of the population below the poverty line.
When Guyana gained independence in 1966, the country was economically dependent on
agriculture and mining, specifically sugarcane, bauxite and gold. During the 1970s, all mining and
agriculture were own and controlled by the government. Government control was only reduced in
the 1990s when a privatization program was introduced. By the early 21st century, the government

Social Stigmas Of Asian Parenting
Social Stigmas of Asian Parenting are True
Just walking through the courtyard of Brigham Young University, you are surrounded by
outstanding, intelligent students who were leaders in their communities and are firm in their faith.
Students hail from all four corners of the world from the diverse United States to blissful Asia; yet,
only 1.4% of BYU students are of Asian ethnicity. The Asian population may be small at the
university; but, Asian stereotypes continue to permeate all forms of media coloring our perception
of our classmates from the East. Have you ever wondered why are they so smart at math? How do
all of them know how to play the piano? Why does receiving anything less than an A grade brew
feelings of failure? Many Asians attribute these stereotypes to their upbringing and parents
expectations. In The Wall Street Journal article Why Chinese Mothers Are Superior , Amy Chua
presented her viewpoint that the Asian parenting style to raise successful children outranks the
Western ideals for parenting. But, are Asians really more superior than Westerners at parenting?
Through personal vignettes and poignant diction, Chua builds logos, pathos, and ethos to write a
convincing article on how Asian parenting styles are effective. So what is like being an Asian
parent?
Chua, a first generation Asian American, establishes the readers trust by consistently using stories
from her personal life, ranging from her own mother calling her garbage and then her American
friends

A Storied Market Leader Facing Competitive Pressures
Ice Fili A storied market leader facing competitive pressures To: Senior Management, Ice Fili
February 12, 2012 Current Situation Ice Fili was able to maintain its leading position in the Russian
ice cream industry during volatile times. However, it now faces even tougher challenges that
threaten its future prospects: reduction in ice cream consumption, emergence of cost efficient
regional players, and the lack of a quality distribution system. After analyzing the situation, we
recommend a strategy that aims to grow sales through the earning of market share, and improving
the distribution network. Porter s Five Forces Model Industry Rivalry Industry rivalry is high. The
ice cream industry is fragmented; 300 producers... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To succeed in this strategy, Ice Fili needs to do two things. First, it needs to broadcast its
commitment to follow the legacy of the traditional Russian ice cream makers and inspire
consumers to cherish and value traditional Russian ice cream making method, thus creating
stronger brand equity. Second, Ice Fili needs to restructure its current distribution system. Nestle
already has its products twice as available as Ice Fili. Summation of Key Problems 1)
Competition: Baskin amp; Robbins and Haagen Dazs have already become incumbents in the
premium ice cream space. Regional players have a big cost advantage so a price war or a move
into a low cost strategy would be difficult. 2) Distribution: Ice Fili s products have fairly limited
availability. Distribution was also highlighted as a factor for the failure of other players in the
Russian ice cream market Reccomendation Possible Strategies The main goal of our
recommendation is to stop the decline of Ice Fili s return on equity which has fallen from 27.3%
in 1996 to 14.4% in 2001 (Figure 1, Appendix). We will look to do this through a combination of
sales growth and margin expansion. We outline several possible options, and choose one which
looks to be the most optimal: 1) Focus on a low cost approach to grow sales 2) Focus on restaurants

A Son s Campaign Speech Analysis
Thank you. Thank you very much. You have all been very kind to Donald and me, to our young
son, Barron, and to our whole family. It s a very nice welcome, and we are excited to be with
you at this historic convention. (CHEERS, APPLAUSE) I m so proud of your choice for
president of the United States, my husband, Donald J. Trump! (CHEERS, APPLAUSE) And I
can assure you he s moved by this great honor. The 2016 Republican primaries were fierce and
started with many candidates, 17 to be exact. And I know that Donald agrees with me when I
mention how talented all of them are. They deserve the respect and gratitude from all of us.

you have turned this unlikely campaign into a movement that is still gaining in strength and

come together in a national campaign like no other. (CHEERS, APPLAUSE) The race will be
hard fought all the way to November. There will be good times and hard times and unexpected
turns. It would not be a Trump contest without excitement and drama. (APPLAUSE) But trust
throughout it all my husband will remain focused on only one thing: this beautiful country that
he loves so much. (APPLAUSE) If I m honored to serve as first lady, I will use that wonderful
privilege to try to help people in our country who need it the most. One of the many causes dear to
my heart is helping children and women. You judge society by how it treats its citizens. We must

A Summary On Charismatic Faith And Ministry
Summary of Charismatic Faith and Ministry
Charismatic Faith and Ministry is a comprehensive book of Charismatic Systematic Theology. The
first three quarters of the book were a brief dissection of systematic theology, much of what we
have studied in other classes, but in a more condensed form. The belief system expressed by Dr.
Daniel Thimell was no great departure from most conservative, reformed, evangelical orthodoxy
except for the addition of the Charismatic.
I believe the real meat of the book started with chapter eleven, Charismatic Ministry. Here Thimell
continues his systematic approach to the book, but now switches to the rest of the story, the work
of the Holy Spirit in our lives today. Thimell takes a very academic and cerebral approach to the
gospel. His lack of personal encounters and stories are evidence to that fact. However, this is a
refreshing approach that presents the gospel with just the basic facts and not many frills. I believe
that Thimell s purpose in writing this book was not to give an exhaustive book on Charismatic
Theology, but to show how Charismata fit within his systematic theology. Thimell showed that
Charismata is not an appendix to the Bible, but an integral and many times overlooked theology
that interweaves through the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation.
It seems that Dr. Thimell tries to relate to the reader on a more personal level with his connections
with Star Wars and the WWJD analogy. Both concepts are points well taken and

Competitive Strategic Approaches used by Starbuck Essay
Starbucks Case
Each company has what sets it apart from other companies in the same industry. This ideology
excludes not Starbuck. Starbuck has a history and right from its inception, the founders wanted
something that would offer fine coffee to the society that settled in Seattle. This has all along been
the case. To accentuate this phenomenon, there was a time Howard Schultz had to travel to Italy to
explore more of the Italian coffee tastes offered in Italy coffee bars and come back to customize
the same in America. Unfortunately, upon his return he resigned from Starbuck and formed his
own company. However, a few years after he formed his company, Starbuck went on sale and this
led Howard Schultz and other investors to mobilize ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Starbucks believes that its clients needs, or rather preferences, are diverse and if it has to make a
difference from the standard products their competitors are offering, then it has to diverse the
products and the services offered. In ensuring that this is happening, Starbucks offer diverse
products and ensures too that the methods it uses to distribute these different products is also
diverse. Note it has successively served airlines, hotels learning institutions, select retailers and
many more diverse customers. Much focus is given on how every customer is served as this keeps
them coming back. This is something Howard Schultz himself had to get down into it and thus he
taught his employees on how to be friendly to the customers. The employees friendliness
established an emotional attachment with the clients; something that was achieved through
employee trainings.
Differentiation demands that every product be great and unique on its own way. In making this
strategy work best for the company, Starbucks commits itself into training all its stakeholders so
that the product s quality is improved indefinitely. At Starbuck you do not just take coffee but also
the value of what you buy is improved by other auxiliary services they offer like accessing Wi Fi
and paid sites.
Starbucks social Responsibility
Like other responsible companies, Starbucks also takes part in social responsibility activities.

  • 2. Differences Between The Conservative Parties Policies And... In Great Britain, there are several key political parties such as the Conservative Party, the Labour Party, the Liberal Democrats and the Green Party. Each of these parties have many different views, ideologies and policies that they believe would make Britain the best that it could be. However only one of the many parties are able to get into government and implement what they believe to be the best policies for the people of Britain. In this essay I will be looking at the differences between the Conservative Parties policies and the Labour Parties policies as each of these parties have very different views in how Great Britain should be governed. The Conservative Partyare a very right wing party and the Labour Partyare a very left wing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Conservative party believes that the tax in Britain is too low and should be increased. They believe that every household should pay a proportionate amount of tax based on the amount they receive in income. The Conservatives are looking to introduce a policy where they cut income tax for families allowing them to keep more of the money that they earn. This will provide households with a better chance of providing for their families as they will have more money to put towards them. (The Conservative Party Website, 2016) The Labour Party has a very different view on the way that the people of Britain should be taxed. They believe that British households should be taxed more if they earn over a certain amount of money. In Labours 2015 party manifesto they claim that they would make a fairer tax system where if people earned over ВЈ150,000 a year then they would pay more in tax. (The Labour Party Website, 2016) This would mean that the people who earn less would be able to keep more of their money as they would not be paying as much tax as the people who earn more and in theory it would make the poorer wealthier. The difference between the Conservative Party and the Labour Party s view on tax is rather different. The Conservative party take the approach that everyone should pay tax but everyone will all pay the same amount whereas the Labour Party want to increase the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents In the novel How The Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents by Julia Alvarez; Sandra Sandi Garcia, the second eldest daughter of the Garcia family. An accent is something that embodies you, but it does not have to be a physical aspect of oneself. It can be a talent that let s others know who you are what is special about you. To lose one s accent is to lose something that represents oneself; a symbol of who that person is. Sandi s accent was her artwork. When she was forced to go to the art class with her cousins and broke her arm, in this her moment she lost her accent. Fasting forward to the future Sandi just wants to fit it with her sisters and look like them. Their is a drastic change before and after Sandi loses her accent. For Sandra Sandi Garcia... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Art was the one thing that set her apart from her sisters and her other family members. This made her feel special, as if she was the only person that possessed this ability. In the moments before Sandi broke her arm she was peering into Don Jose s shed watching him work on his sculpture while being chained to the shed. Don Jose begins to use Sandi s face for inspiration on his sculpture. In this moment she is being broken from her previous self to then become the person someone else choose for her to be. Breaking her arm is symbolic of breaking who is she at this point in her childhood. Even after she broke her arm, it had to be broken again so that it was able to heal the correct way. Sandi s accent was further broken at this point causing her to heal as a new person. The experience of being unable to perform her passion made her rethink the person she wanted to be when her cast was removed. When the cast was removed Sandi no longer had the longing desire to create art; her previous self being broken and forgotten. There are many features that go on in making a film. A cinematographer has a big role in making the film come together with certain camera movements and lighting elements. Cinematography is one of the most important aspects of film. People should be more interested in cinematography because there are so many intricate details that go into making a film special and that is because of and camera angles and movements, color, and different types of shots. Some of these shots include, extreme close up (ECU), medium shot (MS), establishing shot (ES), and long shot (LS). Extreme close up is what a person may assume it is. It is used in filmmaking to focus on a particular detail of a subject. In many cases, ECUs are very intimate and are best used cautiously. Medium shot, also known as waist shot, is also what it sounds like. It is a shot from a medium distance and includes the body from the knees or waist up. An establishing shot may be one that people aren t as familiar with. An establishing shot is a usually long shot in film or video used at the beginning of a sequence to establish an overview of the scene that follows (Merriam Webster). Analysis of The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks For this month s book report I read a book called The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks. This book was about a boy named Omri and his small Indian toy. For Omri s birthday he received a small Indian toy from a friend and a small cupboard from his brother. Omri put his Indian in the cupboard and to his surprise when he opened the cupboard the Indian toy had come to life. Omri has to keep his Indian a secret for fear of an adult finding out. I think that a story about something that could never happen in real life always is more interesting and attracts more readers. The author described things well in this book, but this book was a bit easy to read because she didn t use difficult words. This sometimes would not allow for you to know exactly how she meant for things to appear. The setting of this story is in modern day England. The book did not really describe what time period it was supposed to be, but it seemed relatively modern. I think the book was set in a moderately sized town, because Omri walked to school everyday, and if it were a big city this would be an impossible task for a young boy. The setting wasn t very important to the book because most of the story was about people and not necessarily their environment. There were many characters in this book. The main character in this book was Omri. Omri was a normal young boy who was interested in playing cowboys and Indians, and other games like that. His friend, Patrick, was interested in the same things, but Patrick wasn t as nice and he was a bit bossy and pushy. He forced Omri into making a live toy for him. Omri had a brother named Adiel. Adiel didn t like Omri that much and one time in the story he hid Omri s cupboard because he thought Omri had taken his football shorts. Another character in this book was the headmaster. • 11. Thoreau Rhetorical Analysis In Thoreau s speech From Resistance to Civil Government, the most famous sentence might be: If one HONEST man, in this State of Massachusetts, ceasing to hold slaves, were actually to withdraw from this co partnership, and be locked up in the country jail, therefor, it would be the abolition of slavery in America. Well, if I were to standing by him at that moment, there is one question I want to ask him: you, as the one HONEST man, has visited the jail already, then are you still giving this speech? Why hasn t slaverybe abolished by now? Therefore, we can see that although Thoreau advocates for the power of individual changes, he knows it is going to take collective effort for any significant changes to happen. Everyone knows, including him, that one person s withdraw of support from the governmentcan never result in abolition; it will take a thousand people. However, Thoreau recognizes that because of this way of thinking, people have been seeing themselves as a dispensable agent. They will never take action if they keep waiting for more people to get on board in the revolution. Thus, to break this death cycle, Thoreau tries to shift people s attention away from believing that majority effort is needed, and instead makes people believe that one single personis all it takes to change everything, even though it was in fact not the case. The first step Thoreau takes to foster people s beliefs of their own power, is to compare government as an machine that has friction . By equating the government as just a machine, Thoreau invites his audience to see government as an artificial invention whose entire existence is to function and serve people s need. Then, Thoreau asserts that when the machine is a little friction , people can ignore it, because it is still in their best interest to keep it running; but when the friction comes to have its machine , we need to repair this machine. Obviously, he think it was the time to take action immediately against slavery and the Mexican war. In order to encourage people to stop paying taxes immediately, he has to eliminate people s fear toward acting against the authority. So Thoreau uses this metaphor as a illusion to debunk the fearsome image of government ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Miss Brill Commentary Miss Brill by Katherine Mansfield illustrates the story of a woman who goes out out on a Sunday afternoon and sees the world as a play, with everyone and herself acting out their roles. She wears a fur which the author mentions throughout the story, and Miss Brill s realization of her loneliness is only shown at the end of the story as she takes it off. Mansfield employs the techniques of characterization, imagery, and motifs to express the theme of human alienation in society. Once they insult her fur, Miss Brill doesn t express her feelings of alienation from society, but the description of her room added to her crying exhibits a significant change in mood from the beginning of the short story, when she was excited to spend her afternoon on the bench. Miss Brill s fur is a motif throughout the story, making significance as it is what Miss Brill puts on as her mask to go out and try to fit in. At the beginning, Miss Brill had taken it out of its box that afternoon, shaken out the moth powder, given it a good brush, and rubbed the life back into the dim little eyes. Mansfield illustrates Miss Brill s peppiness, and she is as happy to wear her own fur as she is to go out on her Sunday afternoons to take part in the play and act like she has a place in society; even though others don t see her the same way she sees herself. She had previously described her fur as luxurious, admiring it, though the young girl she was admiring says It s her fu ur which is so funny, ... It s exactly like a fried whiting. . Miss Brill thinks she s a part of the play and has confidence when she wears the fur, but other characters don t see the same way she does. Miss Brill s mask that she puts on is her fur, and when she goes home, she turns back into the person she really is. Mansfield ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Theory Of Reasoned Action Following this, (2) The Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) was developed by both Martin Fishbein and Icek Ajzen, and it is one of the three classic persuasion models of psychology, and is also used in communication discourse as a theory of understanding persuasive messages. It explains the relationship between attitudes and behaviors with human action. This theory is also used to predict how people will behave based on his/hers pre existing attitudes and behavioral intentions. The decision to engage in a particular behavioris based on the outcomes the individual expects will come as a result of performing the behavior. Behavioral intent is allegedly created or caused by two main factors, which include our attitudes and our subjective norms. Some key constructs for this theory include; attitude toward the behavior (outcome expectations and value of outcome expectations), subjective norms (beliefs of others, and desire to comply with others). Last, we have the (3) Theory of Planned Behavior. The Theory of Planned Behavior, also known as (TPB), is a concept proposed by Icek Ajzen that link beliefs and behavior. It was added to the Theory of Reasoned action to address the inadequacies of the existing model. It is one of the most influential and popular conceptual frameworks for the study of human actions. This theory proposes a model, which can measure how human actions are guided and details the determinants of an individual s decision to enact a particular behavior. Attitudes, ... On the other hand, illegal immigrants tend not to be the poorest in the residents they move away from. Illegal immigration has many negative and positive effects everywhere it is. Mock wonders, why such government displays are necessary asks do Christians really need baby Jesus on the courthouse steps to remind them of his birth? This is irony because she is informing the audience of why it is necessary for Christianity symbols to be displayed everywhere when Christians should already be celebrating the birth of Jesus and talk about it among their family. Dillard s mother starts repeating the phrase multiple times with passion. Dillard states that her mother often used quirky sayings or different dialect to show that her and her sister did not know everything. But despite his brashness, entire lack of eloquence, and discriminatory tendencies, Trump was in fact elected. Many of Trump s supporters attribute his success to his fundamentally different approach to politics and leadership. Max Webers lecture, Politics as a Vocation, provides an explanation of how Trump s campaign was successful, why he is perceived as refreshing and different by his supporters, and how these same supporters were able to overlook Trump s flaws. Weber defines in his lecture, three ideal types of authority; traditional, legal, and charismatic. Traditional authority can be associated with Hillary Clinton and her institutionalized style of politics, while Trump is aligned with charismatic authority. Marvell s poem To His Coy Mistress is a dramatic monologue about not having enough time in his life to enjoy his mistress. Even if he lived a longer life there would never be enough time. The poem as a whole consists of forty six lines and is filled with imagery. The images that are invoked by the narrator are in no way ordinary in their description. They rouse compelling feelings of yearning and want. It also brings a persuasive feeling to the table. The persuasiveness would not be as affective without the superb work of imagery used by Andrew Marvell. The first two lines of the poem Had we but world enough, and time,/ This coyness, lady, were no crime allows the reader to see into the mind of the narrator for a brief moment. • 25. The Government As An Intermediate Agency The government is an intermediate agency which has the main, though by no means the exclusive, responsibility for society s adherence to the principles which favour increased autonomy and respect for people s choices. When one thinks about the work of governments throughout history, they look like extremely obnoxious, or at least dangerous, artefacts, for which the need, and, consequently, the conditions and limits, require moral justification. The mere fact that the government prescribes something to us does not morally justify our doing it (though it may prudentially justify it, and therefore, in some cases it may morally excuse it). The decision to obey a government must be an autonomous one one that, like any decision which can affect other people, we should justify on the basis of a freely accepted moral principle. But if this is so, to what extent are we really obeying the government and not simply governing ourselves? And if the moral person always governs himself, what, for him, is the moral relevance of having a government (besides solving co ordination problems or altering the factual setting)? The era of wars and terrorism was followed by segregation, racial sub ordination, and complacence. • 26. Questions On Teaching And Classical Players This article discusses 8 vital things to remember as improvisers whether advanced or just getting started: 1. Your technique is probably miles ahead of your ability to think. This isn t just true for classical players. I ve known lots and lots (and lots) of jazz players who have let their technique run the show as opposed to their brains. Happens all the time. With players who are just beginning to improvise, this is vital to keep in mind. Slow down! Even at furious tempi, you can long meter melodic phrases that dance and skip over the fast tempo thinking them in real time. And you can have great precision and musicality in doing so. FYI, most players who play so fast you are asking yourself how can they think that stuff in real time probably aren t really thinking that stuff in real time. Most are performing a memorized, yet impressive move. Sort of a human software, sub routine call. To me, not the real thing. Personally, I d rather listen to simple ideas that are inspired than impressive, over thought, over prepared ideas any day. Particularly when they are masquerading as improvisation. 2. You will be playing unexpected notes (mistakes) in the best of situations. Yes, I know, we re supposed to KNOW what we are doing. But to get good at anything, we have to stretch, and stretching means taking risks, and taking risks means making mistakes. Over time, you really will be able to hear a melody and execute it flawlessly. But by then, you ll be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first thing you could noticed as you walked through the arched framed front door was the wood flooring throughout the dining and living room. The house had three rooms, one in each level of the house; main, second and basement. The spacious master bedroomwas upstairs, with more windows than walls. We loved it, all that bright sunlight gave the impression that the room was bigger than already was. The other bedroom was smaller but perfect for to be our son s play room. The ... • 38. United States And The Open Skies Agreements Essay The United States has numerous Open Skies agreements with most countries around the globe. The agreements allow foreign airlines to fly to the U.S. with few, if any, restrictions from the U.S. government and U.S. carriers to fly to foreign countries, also with little or no government restrictions. However, many of the U.S. carriers, such as Delta, American, and United, believe that the Open Skies agreements have some major loopholes, allowing the few subsidized airlines, such as Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Etihad, to fly to the United States, as well as numerous other countries across the globe, at lower operating costs than their non subsidized competition have to pay for the same route. These agreements also allow the practice of fifth freedom operations. Fifth freedom operations permit one airlineto fly from their home country to another participating country, drop off and pick up passengers, fly to a second participating country and then fly the whole route in reverse. These routes are known as fifth freedom routes. Since they oppose the idea of fifth freedom routes, Delta, American, and United [the U.S. Three] all want the U.S. government to limit the number of flights these Persian Gulf carriers can operate to the U.S. because they believe that they are losing revenue and customers to this group, known as the Middle East Three. One popular discussion topic is the idea of fifth freedom routes. Ted Reed, a contributor to Forbes magazine, explains to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My intergenerational partner, Carolyn Zeiger, is 73 years young and a retired licensed psychologist. She used to work as a meditative practitioner for individuals who has Parkinson s Disease. Carolyn is a Silent, and I am glad that we have something in common even before we meet in person. As the students pair up with their intergenerational partner, I scanned the room attempting to find a lady with short white hair and a pair of glasses (Based on her photo I saw in the intergenerational webpage). As a result of the disputes, it identified how the creators are similar, how the creation of the creatures are comparable, and how the relationships between the creator and the creature in each story are related. The creature states that misery caused him to be furious, but the goodness inside him never went away when it comes to Dr. Frankenstein. Roberts surveyed eight African American teachers to attain their point of view of what it meant to care for their students which included informing them about how to survive in the racismof the United States of America that they will and are exposed to (Roberts 456). The discussion of political clarity was addressed by several teachers to help students understand the importance of education and emphasized that they believed, for Black people, academic achievement would eventually equal equality (Roberts 458). It should be noted the research identified teachers believed: informing the students about socio political/colour talk matters helped them to understand as African Americans you have to work harder to make it in the U.S (Roberts 458). • 45. Characteristics Of Dialectical Behavior Therapy Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) was developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan in the 1980 s based on her biosocial theory of borderline personality disorder (BPD; Linehan, 1993a, 1993b). DBT utilizes a number of therapeutic techniques and skill development to target deficits in emotion regulation and monitoring affective states. An important underlying assumption of DBT is that emotionally vulnerable individuals learn maladaptive coping strategies (i.e., parasuicidal behaviours) as a way to mitigate strong emotional reactions. Therefore, DBT attempts to develop more adaptive coping strategies that encourage a person to build a life that they experience as worth living (Behavioral Tech, 2017). The fundamental components of traditional DBT are based upon cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance, and dialectics (Linehan, 1993a). DBT implements traditional CBT techniques that emphasize change, including skills training, exposure therapy, as well as cognitive and contingency therapy (Linehan, 1993b; Rathus Miller, 2002). However, Linehan et al. (1991) recognized that when clients were provided CBT alone, they often became distressed and dropped out of treatment. This dilemma led Linehan to identify that when there was a balance between change and validation, clients were far more likely to engage as well as remain in treatment (Linehan et al., 1991). Accordingly, validation and acceptance became another principal component of DBT, with a focus of developing a balance between ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many Asians attribute these stereotypes to their upbringing and parents expectations. But, are Asians really more superior than Westerners at parenting? Through personal vignettes and poignant diction, Chua builds logos, pathos, and ethos to write a convincing article on how Asian parenting styles are effective. So what is like being an Asian parent? However, it now faces even tougher challenges that threaten its future prospects: reduction in ice cream consumption, emergence of cost efficient regional players, and the lack of a quality distribution system. To succeed in this strategy, Ice Fili needs to do two things. First, it needs to broadcast its commitment to follow the legacy of the traditional Russian ice cream makers and inspire consumers to cherish and value traditional Russian ice cream making method, thus creating stronger brand equity. Second, Ice Fili needs to restructure its current distribution system. Nestle already has its products twice as available as Ice Fili. Summation of Key Problems 1) Competition: Baskin amp; Robbins and Haagen Dazs have already become incumbents in the premium ice cream space. Regional players have a big cost advantage so a price war or a move into a low cost strategy would be difficult. 2) Distribution: Ice Fili s products have fairly limited availability. Distribution was also highlighted as a factor for the failure of other players in the Russian ice cream market Reccomendation Possible Strategies The main goal of our recommendation is to stop the decline of Ice Fili s return on equity which has fallen from 27.3% in 1996 to 14.4% in 2001 (Figure 1, Appendix). • 50. A Summary On Charismatic Faith And Ministry Summary of Charismatic Faith and Ministry Charismatic Faith and Ministry is a comprehensive book of Charismatic Systematic Theology. The first three quarters of the book were a brief dissection of systematic theology, much of what we have studied in other classes, but in a more condensed form. The belief system expressed by Dr. Daniel Thimell was no great departure from most conservative, reformed, evangelical orthodoxy except for the addition of the Charismatic. I believe the real meat of the book started with chapter eleven, Charismatic Ministry. Here Thimell continues his systematic approach to the book, but now switches to the rest of the story, the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives today. Thimell takes a very academic and cerebral approach to the gospel. His lack of personal encounters and stories are evidence to that fact. However, this is a refreshing approach that presents the gospel with just the basic facts and not many frills. I believe that Thimell s purpose in writing this book was not to give an exhaustive book on Charismatic Theology, but to show how Charismata fit within his systematic theology. Thimell showed that Charismata is not an appendix to the Bible, but an integral and many times overlooked theology that interweaves through the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. It seems that Dr. Thimell tries to relate to the reader on a more personal level with his connections with Star Wars and the WWJD analogy. Both concepts are points well taken and ...
