Similarities Between Christianity And Judaism
There are hundreds or even thousands different religions allover the world, but only several of them
are global. Two of them, Christioanity and Judaism, have its believers on each continent, and during
its history experienced persecutions from others. Despite, there are a lot of differences between
these religions, Christianityand Judaism are similar.
Both Christianity and Judaism are monotheistic. It means that believers of these religions believe in
one God who is a creator of the world. Christians have the Holly Bible, which is a book that
describes, a history of the religion, prophecies, and the rules of life. Jews, similarly, have their holly
book and they call it Torah. Christianity, like Judaism have the same important place called

Different Forms Of Co Teaching
Lauren Dursky and I decided that we would implement different forms of co teaching for different
subjects. It did not seem efficient to use the same method for each subject, so we decided to vary
the instruction. For math, we decided to use station teaching. This allows students to discover a true
understanding of each concept through different activities. This style of co teachingalso allows each
teacher to incorporate his or her own unique perspective into the classroom. This style could be
challenging for math because it requires extra planning and you have to make sure both teachers
are teaching similar methods at the same time so movement from one station to the next is
smooth. We then decided to use the teaming method for history. The teaming method allows both
teachers to present their own views to the class and bounce ideas off of each other (The Power of
2, 2005). Instead of using textbooks to teach history, we decided to take a concept and explore its
significance through events and debates. We would start off by each presenting a different point of
view on a single event and have students divide into two groups based on their initial thoughts.
Each teacher would then lead their portion of the class through research and constructing a debate.
After a couple days spent learning about the situation and preparing an argument, the two halves of
the class would debate.
For language arts we decided to use the parallel teaching method. This method allows for small

With regard to the relationship between government spending and private consumption, two
opponent points of view can be found. The first one states that there is a relation of substitution
between government spending and private consumption. However, the other one concludes that
government spending and private consumption are complements. Therefore, it can be easily seen
that it is a controversial issue for both economists and policy makers. According to the literature,
several studies have been done to test the relationship between government spending and private
consumption in the context of industrialized countries, OECD countries, and some Asian countries.
Of course, Egypt was not one of these studied cases. Moreover, when a study was done to
investigate this point of research in the context of a group of African countries (Anoruo 2005) that
performed a panel data analysis for 24 countries; Unfortunately, Egypt was not included in this panel
data analysis. As a result, there is a gap in the literature of testing the relationship between
government spending and private consumption for Egypt. Consequently, this study aims to provide
an answer to this important question; does government spending substitute or complement private
consumption in Egypt? Literature Review: Surveying the literature of testing the relationship

Vineland Adaptive Behavior Analysis
Scott is a 6 year old student who is currently in 1st grade. He has several behaviors that has been
identified by both his parents and classroom teachers. Some of his most noted behaviors has been
aggression, depression, lack of attention, and withdrawal. He shows aggression by breaking
objects, and physically attacking other students as well as staff members. He shows signs of
depression when he screams and becomes easily frustrated. Scotts has trouble with attending
because he often become distracted as noted. Scotts hyperactivity becomes evident as he screams
out and shows very little control over himself or emotions and interrupts adults when he is excited.
Finally, Scott displays the coping mechanism of withdrawal by avoiding activities... Show more

I believe that utilizing the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Assessment will provide a clearer picture
of Scott. The Vineland test would be the most appropriate test to give Scott because the Vineland
test is used to measure personal and social skills from birth to adulthood (Manohari, Raman,
Ashok, 2013). It is important to note that Scott is in 1st grade and there is very limited academic
pattern for him. Taking this assessment will allow teachers and parents to obtain a greater
interpretation of Scott. The assessed adaptive behavior done by Vineland is communication, living
skills, socialization, and motor. According to the case study these are also the domains in which
the parents and teachers have concerns. Because there is a family history of ADHD Vineland
remains an appropriate choice of assessment because it addresses intellectual and developmental
disabilities as well as autism spectrum disorder and ADHD. Vineland also provides educational and
treatment plans (Manohari, Raman, Ashok, 2013). Therefore, it is necessary that all aspects of a
student development are looked at in order to make a n appropriate diagnosis. This includes
language, social skills, attention, behavior, mood, academic skills, social skills, play skills and
motor skills (Manohari, Raman, Ashok, 2013). Having a thorough assessment allows for all areas
of development to be addressed to obtain a clear picture of the student. Because Scott sensory
processing is a concern these difficulties interfere with his participation in classroom activities,

Use Of Lingustic Instruments For Object Oriented Analysis
Title: HOW TO USE LINGUSTIC INSTRUMENTS FOR OBJECT ORIENTED ANALYSIS
SUMMARY: In software engineering today day we are using this object oriented analysis in
many ways and in many places because it makes us easy to understand the code and the concepts
of the project. There are many theories and methodologies came to explain the object oriented
concepts to make it more easier to understand but the none of them explained the concepts of
paradigm in this document the authors came to overcome the paradigm problem. Actually this
object oriented analysis helps the developers to have a clean explanation and to overcome with
the problems faced by the users. Even though it s useful in many ways but it is mostly depended
on the experience of the developer that makes the organizations to use it slow and it is not use
repeatedly and its mostly depended on the experience of the software engineer only, to overcome
this problem the authors came out with the semi formula model which can make the organizations
to run systematically with object oriented concepts this paper discuses about the steps and criteria
to identify the key words of the program in object oriented method to overcome the textual
description problem of the object oriented analysis. Previously the several authors came with
several object oriented paradigms to explain the textual problem but they were not much succeeded

Essay about The Flight Path of Airplanes Over Neighborhoods
The Flight Path of Airplanes Over Neighborhoods The houses can t be unbuilt, and the airports
can t be torn down. But maybe the fences can be mended. Robbie Sherwood In the past 10 years,
many cities across the country have outgrown the planner s expectations. Unfortunately the airports
that were built 20 or more years ago, have not grown with the cities. Phoenix has tripled in size in
the past 10 years. The tripling of air traffichas not had anywhere to go. The same two runways that
have been serving the city since 1935 when the airportwas built have been extremely over loaded.
It is not just happening in Phoenix, a few years ago Denverreceived a new airport to relieve the
overflow of traffic from the older Stapelton... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The airspace is always changing to support more and more traffic. The older airport system is
not able to support the increased traffic. If all the sides were looked at, the advantages to having
a strong air travel system in a large city far outweigh the drawbacks. When the busiest two
runway airport in the world (Phoenix), has to go through 7 years of red tape bureaucracy to get
a runway built, something is wrong with the picture. The procedure should be modified so that
changes can be made to the facility when it needs to, not 10 years later. The way to get this done
is that we need to start an awareness campaign to let our government know what we want. We live
with a democratic government, so we should take advantage of it to speak out for something we
want. The most effective way of making our congressman aware of the issue is through a writing
campaign. We need to write and have our friends write to get the word out that airports are needed.
If the rule makers are aware that there are many people that do want aviation, it might speed up
the process. Speaking about airport expansion, There are only 3 runways expansion projects in the
country right now on the drawing board, Phoenix, Orlando, and Cleveland. It takes an
extraordinarily large amount of red tape to get a runway built, or lengthened (Sullivan 10 27 98).

The Beginning and the End of the Weekend
The Beginning and the End of the Weekend.
Before the 1870 s, the week end was just that. Week end. The week end was Saturday night, not
Sunday. Sunday was considered the first day of the week, not the week end, week end or weekend.
It was not for work or fun, it was for worship, a day of rest. Now It s week days and weekend , as
Rybczynski points out in Waiting for the Weekend (35). We call the first day of the week, Monday,
but it is in fact, Sunday.
There was no such thing as the weekend as we know it until the 1870 s. Workers put in up to 16
hours a day, 7 days a week, according to Krissy Clark s, A Weekend History Lesson, labor
organizers worked with the government to get shorter hours and better working conditions and
better pay. These kinds of changes did not easily come back then, some protesters lost their lives
for publicly speaking about it and others in riots. Men were insisting on having time to do
whatever they wanted, whether it be with their families, get more education or just leisure
according to historian Michael Feldberg from Clark. Clark also points out a bumper sticker made
by artist Ricardo Levins Morales that says The labor movement. The folks who brought you the
weekend.
The weekend was actually brought about by several things: The unions coming in, pushing for
what history.com calls a working man s holiday. In the 1870 s there just happened to be a lot of

How Is Technology Changing Tv Narrative
As Alan Coren once joked, Television is more interesting than people. If it were not, we would
have people standing in the corners of our rooms ( Alan Coren Quotes ). From Good Morning
America to Gossip Girl, television offers its viewers an immense variety of programs to keep its
audience not only entertained but also glued to their TV set for hours everyday. Throughout his
video, How is Technology Changing TV Narrative, Mike Rugnetta uses a multitude of comedic
examples to argue that televisionnarratives are more complex today because of time shifting
technology. Mike Rugnetta is the host of the Idea Channel, a PBS web series, as well as a
performance lecturer for Meme Factory where he educates people about the Internet ( Mike
Rugnetta: Ask Meme Another ). In his Idea Channel videos, Rugnetta is able to use unconventional
methods to educate his audience. Although pop up cartoons and comedic input weakens his
organization, Rugnetta s style of interaction engages his audience effectively through his ability to
address his audience s questions and make the audience understand the information through humor.
Rugnetta s use of pop up cartoons and humor allows him to take complex theories and make them
simpler for his audience to understand. Rugnetta s idea that TV shows are written in series rather
than episodes today because of new time shifting technology can not only be uninteresting but also
puzzling for his viewers. However, Rugnetta introduces this idea by suggesting

Common Misunderstanding about Buddhism
A common misunderstanding of about Buddhism exist today, especially in the concept of
reincarnation. Since the origin of Buddhism derived from India where most people practice
Hinduism during that time, the common misunderstanding is that many people believes that when
one passed on and reincarnate, the individual possess the same souls as the one before. This is
wrong because the Buddhismdoes not believed in a permanent self in one s body.
The doctrine of Buddhism is to attain enlightenment and be released from the cycle of rebirth and
death, thus attaining Nirvana. Whereas, the doctrine of Hinduism was to escape the cycle of
reincarnation, and attain salvation. In Buddhism, rebirth occurs as a result of ignorance in the
unconscious life stream at the time of death. This term means a mind containing illusion and
defilement such as frustration, greed and selfishness are among them. The unconscious life stream
is considered to be endless stream of energy stretching back into the past and future. It is sometimes
known as the Mind.
Karma, being a powerful energy act upon the unconscious life stream and a rebirth occurs. This new
Rebirth does not occur with the any similar characteristic as the previous person had, because these
characteristics were completely erased during death. The only thing during the rebirth of the person
is the Mind. The mind is also an insubstantial energy, in other words it neither physical nor is it
spiritual properties but supernatural energy

material it s made from.
I would highly recommend this swing set for very young children. It s made of heavy plastic,
and the entire swing set has rounded edges, which ensures your child s safety. This swing set is
not expensive at all, but will last for quite some time. It s not really the type of swing set that will
grow with your child, it s really only meant for toddler years. But, that s okay because the price is
very low and it will last you as long as you need it to. It s really a great deal and your toddlers will
love it.

Cheerleading Discourse Community
A discourse community is is a group of people who share a set of discourses, understood as basic

groups of people can be considered a discourse community. One in particular being Cheerleading.
Whether it be competitive, high school, collegiate or NFL cheerleading, they all have similar
common goals and communications skills.
I have found multiple blogs and websites that talk about cheerleading as a discourse community,
and I came up with the topic as a personal want. I have always wanted to be a cheerleader, but
never had the opportunity to do so. I thought it would be a good idea to write about it to expand
my knowledge on the sport. Cheerleading was described in a blog, a community that has certain
goals that are primarily set by the captain or the coach of the group; intercommunication amongst
the members and the coach; it gives you a way to participate when giving and sharing new ideas
and when it comes to the goals; there is a specific lexis that only this community uses; there is a
level of expertise when it comes to the different positions associated within this community; and last
but not least, there are communication expectations when it comes to delivering specific topics.

Reaction Paper On Preposition
Preposition is a part of a sentence. Without a preposition, a sentence may not carry any meaning
even. A sentence may fail to give its complete meaning without a preposition. It is the most
commonly used functional word in sentences. A preposition is placed anywhere in a sentence.
According to the rules of forming a sentence, a sentence does not end with preposition. The usage
of preposition at the end of sentence is not grammatically correct, still, it is used. It is permissible
in the modern times. A preposition that comes at the end of sentence is called stranded

Preposition may be of a word or phrase,
e.g. (of words) at, in, on, etc.
e.g. (of phrases)
In spite of , on account of, instead of, etc. At times a preposition functions as a modifier. (I.e. as an
adjective or as an adverb)
e.g.
We arrived at 12 0 clock. (Adverb)
The news about him is not true. (Adjective)
The word preposition has its origin from a Latin word praepositia meaning placed before that is
pre positioned. It is placed before a noun, a pronoun, or a phrase. It shows or explains its temporal
or logical relationship of an object (a noun, a pronoun, or a phrase)
with some other noun or pronoun or adjective or phrase in sentences. Preposition tells or gives the
information or idea on the relationship between nouns or pronouns or something else. It tells, in
what relation a noun or a pronoun stands in regard to something else in a sentence.
The cat is under the table.
Here the preposition under is placed before the noun table and explains in what way the noun cat
stands in relation to the other noun table, in other words, the preposition under, explains in what

Negative Impression And Negative Impressions Essay
Fpositive impression and negative impression. Positive impressions are known as an impression
that results in accumulating dirt underneath the sole of the shoes and then depositing on a clean
surface. Negative impressions are known as impressions that are made by clean shoe stepping on a
dirty surface, thus removing dust from the surface where the shoesole made contact (1, 4). In figure
1, you can see the footwearimpression on a hard surface and soft surface resulting from positive
and negative impressions. The first area of comparison is the design on the outsole that is
produced, but there are thousands of outsole designs that are being produced. The details on
each sole vary from each other and each design has different sizes. Meaning, different types of
shoes are made with a different style of an outsole and each size has its own outsole design,
which gives further distinct characteristics to the outsole design even if the shoe is in the same
size. The resulting physical differences in the size and shape qualities of the sole is of additional
comparative usefulness in connecting or disassociating scene impressions with suspect s footwear.
In case, if a shoe has a plain outsole, then the physical size and shape is taken into account and can
still associate the suspect by comparing it with the impression lifted off from the crime scene. In
contrast, if a shoe s outsole has a design, physical size and shape can be taken into account to

The Little League Of The Baseball Cap
From a young age, girls and boys are separated in all walks of life; none is truer than in sports,
especially baseball. In 1939 Little League Baseball was founded for anyone between the ages of 5
and 18; leading with their motto Courage, Character, and Loyalty. This idea of courage was
especially true in the year 1950, when Kathryn Johnston tucker her hair under her baseballcap, took
on the nickname Tubby and posed as a boy for her local teams tryouts. It was not until after she
made the team that Kathryn revealed her true identity, leaving the local league no choice but to
allow her play. In just one year after that incident, the Little League regulations were changed (as

In 2009, Jennifer Ring, wrote an article titled Baseball Is War ; in this article she references how

playing baseball is still news. Parents who arrive at a youth baseball game and unfold their
portable chairs are still, in 2009, surprised by the presence of a ponytail (Ring, 12). It is not until
something as simple as a girl on a baseball field is old news , that we will be able to say, we are
equal. Perhaps Ring is right on the second page of her article where she states that, The battle is
cultural, not legal . It has been a females legal right since 1973 to play baseball, yet we see it less
and less as the years go on. During the 19th century, women s teams at six different colleges as
well as other outside sources began playing baseball. Baseball was a chance for these women to
step out side of their comfort zone almost and gain a freedom that they otherwise did not have
before. Martha Brady states it best with her quote from article Creating Safe Spaces and
Building Social Assets for Young Women in the Developing World When she says, To a degree,
being involved in sports appears to work against the repressive effects of conformity and
femininity and allows girls access to the more action oriented realm of adolescence that is
typically enjoyed by boys (Brady, 42). During this time a couple women stood out and began to

This can be seen in 1984, as the government s political figure, Big Brother, provides protection
and comfort to the citizens. Big Brother can be seen all across the city on posters and is
frequently talked about between the people of Oceania. Big brother assures safety and
happiness to the citizens as well as Winston towards the end of the novel, But it was all right,
everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He
loved Big Brother (Orwell 298). This shows how Winston thinks about the possible dangers his
family was in and how tough it was for them. After, pondering about this subject for some time, he
comes to the realization that he does not need to be sad because Big Brother is always watching
over him. Winston, along with many of the others, feel that Big Brother is always watching them,
which gives them a sense of safety and security in the way that they do not have anything to worry
about. Another example of how Oceania can be looked at as a utopia is how no crime ever occurs
within their society and country. This is proven in the fact that anyone who tries or have
attempted to rebel against the government have been vaporized and the history of their existence
has been completely changed. This can be seen when Winston questions his job of editing
Oceania s history, And the Records Department, after all, was itself only a single branch of the
Ministry of Truth, whose primary job was not to reconstruct the past but to supply the citizens
of Oceania with newspapers, films, textbooks, telescreen programs, plays, novels (Orwell 42

all of the negativity and rebellious acts have been removed from their history. Oceania provides
the people an enjoyable and worry free life because all of the crime in the society

Growing Up In Poverty Research Paper

Growing Up in Poverty
It can be argued that an individual s economic status is one of the most important aspects of a
person s place in society, almost more than race, gender, or religion. Poverty can be defined as a
state of being extremely poor. In the United States and many other areas throughout the world there
are many individuals who lack enough money to provide the basic necessities of life. Poverty is a
chronic condition and so many children who grow up in it will face the effects over their lifetime.
I see the main effects of growing up in poverty being poor health, a high risk for teen pregnancy,
and the lack of education.
Poor health is a direct effect of growing up in poverty because children in low economic families
may not have access to adequate medical coverage. If a child doesn t have health insurance or if
the family doesn t have money to see a physician, the child will not have the recommended
checkups or immunizations that help ensure a child is healthy. When a child grows up in poverty
the child is more likely to be underdeveloped. Some studies show that poor nutrition and higher
stress levels can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When teenage girls grow up in poverty, they may end up pregnant and flee a poor household.
Furthermore, teenagers who grow up in poverty have less access to sex education classes, birth
control, and condoms, which can increase the chances of having a baby at a young age. Girls that
grow up in an impoverished household can become pregnant at an early age, and without the
financial means to support the child, the girl will continue to live in poverty as an adult trying to
make ends meet and take care of a child. A lack of money and health care coverage will prevent
the child from receiving treatment and prevention for medical conditions. This is a vicious cycle
that can carry from generation to

Buffalo Soldiers
The focal point of my paper will be on the changes in the United States (US) armed forces over
the last century. I chose to compare the Buffalo Soldiers, who existed from 1867 1896, and their
experiences with the current state of the US armed forces. I was drawn to author, ZZ Packer s
Buffalo Soldiers because of my experience in the US armed services and, as I read the book it
became clear that the US armed services today is very different from what it was at the time when
the Buffalo Soldiers existed. I served honorably in both the United States Air Force and United
States Army from 1985 2001, and my experiences are in stark contrast to the experiences of the
Buffalo Soldiers.

I successfully recruited many men and women of multicultural backgrounds by relating my
experiences in the army to them, and many of them have gone on to have brilliant careers in the
United States armed services. As an African American service connected veteran I know that my
experiences in the United States military are not unique. Many African Americans and many
soldiers of all ethnic groups have inspired others to follow their path and that of the early pioneers.
The greatest example of change for minorities in the US Armed Services over time is exemplified
by General Colin Luther Powell, an African Caribbean American with an impeccable career as a
statesman and a retired United States Army four star general. During his stint in the army, General
Powell went on to reach the highest rank that an army officer in the United States Armed Services
could reach, that of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who advise the US Government in

The Devil In The White City By Erick Larson
The Devil in the White City Analysis Paper
The Devil in the White City a novel written by Erick Larson, a book that consisted of a national
wonder in the Chicago World Columbian Exposition of 1893 or better known as the Chicago
world fair, as well with the fair goer predating murders committed by the famous serial killer
Dr.H.H.Holmes. Larson uses contrast between Chief architect of the Chicago World Fair Daniel
Hudson Burnham and serial killer H.H.Holmes. Larson then brings out juxtaposition between the
White City and the Black City (World fair vs. Chicago). Larson uses detailed imagery on the visual
of the fair.
In the time, famous architect Daniel Hudson Burnham won everybody s hearts and trust through
the idea of the Chicago World s Exposition (World Fair). While in the dark Holmes held his place
as a scum to the reader, an attractive, sick in the head pest. Through Larson s use of contrast

Jeffersonian Republicanism vs. Jacksonian Democracy
Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson were two influential political figures in two very different
eras, ranging from 1800 1808 and 1808 1840 respectively, that established two very different
political philosophies. Each formed their own system that helped shape the way people think about
American government. Liberalism is a political philosophy that goes against the established status
quo at the time in order for change, where as a conservative is one which adheres to principles
established by that same status quo. The Jeffersonian Republicans image of the common man was

Jackson forced thousands of Native Americans to march from Georgia to Oklahoma on the

establishment of public education. They believed that schools restricted individual liberty by
interfering with parental responsibility. The importance of the Jacksonian Era was not that the gap
between rich and poor had narrowed, but that there were now few barriers that prevented people
from gaining wealth and power. Because Jackson eradicated the Indian threat (a major concern for
common people), and belittled the importance education, his party symbolized that a man could
come from nothing, and become president, which was a source of inspiration and hope for the
common man. Both Jefferson and Jackson did what they felt would economically benefit the
common man however Jeffersons maintenance of the Hamiltonian economic system, which
benefited the upper class, did less for the common man then Jackson, who advocated for the ideals
of economic success for all. Jefferson encouraged State banks and was originally opposed to the

A Brief Note On Israeli And Japanese Pregnancy Processes
Tsipy Ivry s book on Israeli and Japanese pregnancy processes is an important work towards
feminist anthropology and the study of pregnancy and birth in anthropology. The focuses of
pregnancies brought to term in Israel and Japan, and the U.S. have many differences. The
importance of genetic testing in the U.S. and Israel, and the lack of importance of it in Japan is
very interesting and culturally based. In an updated paper from 2011, Rayna Rapp expands on
birthing practices and childbearing in New York City, in regards to genetic testing. Rapp also
spread their studies into how western reproductive technology has spread to developing nations
and the phenomena of wealthy westerners heading to less economically developed countries for
IVF, stem cell, and other reproductive treatments and services. For example, embryotic tissue is
regarded differently and more secularly in India than many Euro American discourses and thus
many seek medical treatment in India that are from other countries. The IVF process greatly
effects marriages and depending upon its success further impacts partnerships and marriages, as
well as gendered expectations of motherhood and fatherhood. Many women in rural countries, in
good health, will donate their eggs too for monetary gain. Furthermore, IVF can be complicated by
cultural and religious beliefs and practices. For example, in Israel traditional IVF is banned but
obtaining eggs from other non Jewish women is permitted, or in Sharia Iran, the

Analyzing Erikson s Psychosocial Development Theory
Erikson was a theorist who focused on his theory for psychosocial development. The article
Psychosocial Identity Development Theories, highlights the keys points and idea of Erikson s
psychosocial theory. Erikson was very focused on the idea of ego identity and obtaining full
potential. His theory or model stats that, identity formation is based on overcoming conflicts that
individuals encounter during adolescent and early childhood. (Karkouti, 2014, p.257) He believed
that all people must endure certain conflicts in their lives, and then overcome them in order to
obtain their ego identity. The idea of psychosocial development is focused on social conflicts, and
environmental factors. In the psychosocial model that Erikson created, it places people into eight
stages. In order for someone to move on to the next stage, they must first overcome the conflict
presented to them in the stage that they are in. A well established identity will get stronger the
more that conflict is successfully resolved. The eight stages are basic trust versus mistrust,
autonomy versus shame and doubt, initiative verses guilt, industry versus inferiority, identity versus
identity diffusion, intimacy versus isolation, generativity versus stagnation, and ego integrity
versus despair. In this article, it not only focuses on the main idea for psychosocial development,
but it continues by then saying that the theory has two criticisms, stages are descriptive and they
are difficult to be empirically

Chiari Malformation Research Paper
There are 4 different types of Chiari malformations. Type 1 is the most common and occurs when
the cerebellar tonsil is found below the forman magnum; usually affecting older children or adults
and is the only type of malformation that can be acquired. Type II involves both the brainstem and
cerebellum below the forman magnum, this type is usually associated with other diseases such as
spina bifidaand myelomeningocele. This is usually found in children and this type is responsible for
the name Arnold Chiari malformation. Type III is the most severe it results in the cerebellum and
the brainstem producing a pouch like structure that protrudes from the back of the head and upper
neck. This pouch contains brain matter and causes severe neurological deficits. Finally, Type IV is
extremely uncommon and involves the complete underdevelopment of the cerebellum ( Different ,

There are several causes that can be associated with a Chiari malformation. Some of those causes
are associates with a structural defect of the spinal cord during fetal development, injury, or even a

Maltese Falcon Movie Book Comparison Essay

The Maltese Falcon Comparison
Samuel Spade of The Maltese Falcon novel by Dashiell Hammett is quite different from Samuel
Spade of The Maltese Falcon motion picture. The book was written a good decade before that
version of the movie was produced and in a much more casual time period. The novel focuses on
making Sam out to be a more complex character than the movie does. He is not just the good guy
as he is portrayed more so in the movie. The time period may have had a lot to do with the
differences between the 1941 movie and the book, published in 1929. The first thing to consider
is that the late 1920 s were a much more relaxed, party era, while the early 1940 s were an era of
strict decorum. While ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another striking difference between the novel and the film is the portrayal of the femme fatale
antihero Brigid O Shaughnessy. The book, once again in stride with the time period it was
published in, portrays her as a very sexually charged woman, someone who is without a doubt
willing to use her sexuality to her advantage in any situation. An example of her comfort with
her sexuality is seen when she strips in a bathroom for Spade and In her mien was pride without
defiance or embarrassment (196). The movie, however, shows her in a more traditional role of a
woman, someone who uses her femininity to her advantage, playing the poor helpless girl more
often. Instead of having Brigid strip in the movie, she merely pleads with Sam, begging him to
believe that she did not take the money. In its entirety, The Maltese Falcon novel reflects a more
evolved character in both Sam Spade and Brigid O Shaughnessy. Each character is real enough to
know that right decisions aren t always clear and that sometimes no one can be trusted, as is
seen when Spade searches Brigid s room or strip searches her. While the Sam Spade of the
movie still reserved his doubts about people he met, he was a much less multi faceted character,
one who could still make all the right choices and by the end of the story save the day. At the same
time, the novel begs the question by the end of the story did Sam Spade make the right decision?

The Supreme Court Decisions Shape Our Country s Future
There is absolutely no resistance to the idea that the Supreme Court s decisions shape our
country s future. Decisions like Brown v Board of Education, or Obergefell v Hodges have
dramatically changed some laws and restrictions seem as derogatory and contrary to our
equalitarian society. The question that many people pose however, is why some Supreme Court
decisions implemented almost immediately, and others take a while to even gain some sense of
traction. Expert opinions differ, but they all almost revolve around the idea that political
inclination often determine implementation and respect of laws. Others say resistance to
Supreme Court decisions stem from the parties involved and their interests. Needless to say,
almost every theory and opinion in this case bear some truth. By The People, For The Congress
As we all know, Congress is one of the three bodies of our government that is elected by the
people. This often give the congress some type of legitimacy as lawmakers pretend to carry out
the wishes of their constituents. We have however seen many instances where personal political
gains trumped the wishes of the people. One main reason why Supreme Court rulings are ignored
is the political agenda of congressmen and women. Senator Cruz who happens to be one of the
current s court enemy, has advocated for restrictions on the Supreme Court simply because some
laws voted were contrary to his ideals, and those of the people who rally behind him. In the recent

The Importance Of Human Nature In Of Mice And Men
Stories and other literary forms are often used to showcase different aspects of human nature. John
Steinbeck uses the story Of Mice and Men to display the truth behind human aspirations and
emotions. Steinbeck exhibits both the kindness and the cruelty that lies within everyone. Through
both symbolism and direct statements, the readers can understand the different struggles and
motives of each character. Of Mice and Men shows the world through the perspective of many
people from different backgrounds, including workers, women, the mentally ill, and colored
people. Though the characters appear drastically different, they all have dreams and yearn to
belong. In Of Mice and Men, Steinbeck is trying to show the importance of friendship, the
impossibility of the American dream, and the discrimination in the 1930 s. Many characters in the
story go without friendship, causing them to feel alone in the world. George and Lennie are the
only characters introduced that stick together. George and Lennie say multiple times that we got a
future. We got somebody to talk to that gives a damn about us (Steinbeck 14). Their friendship is
what makes them different from all of the other men because they have someone else to rely on. On

Causes Of The Roman Empire

Practice Essay #2
The Roman Empire was one of the most powerful and influential empires of ancient history.
Although external strife such as the invasion and attacks from barbarian/Germanic groups
contributed to the collapse of the Roman Empire, the internal problems were the main factors in
the empire s fall because poor hereditary leadership and the empire becoming too large to
administer and manage weakened the empire significantly, which allowed Germanic groups the
vanquish the Roman Empire. The Silk Roads were created by Han Wudi during the Han Dynasty,
and were trade routes that connected China to the West as far as the Mediterranean Sea. Many
items such as religion, disease, technologies, spices, slaves, and animals were traded on these
routes, which helped globalize this time period. Many empires/regions such as China, the Islamic
States, and the Roman/Byzantine Empire used these trade routes to trade their ideas, technologies,
and more. Under the rule of the first Roman emperor, Augustus (also known as Octavian), the Pax
Romana started. It was the start of 200 years of Roman peace and tranquility in the Mediterranean
region with very little military growth. This period is often considered Rome s golden age with an
increase of trade and creation of roads. After the Pax Romana ended, the Roman Empire was split
into two, with the Eastern section becoming the Byzantine Empire and the Western section being
ruled by Maximian.

Identifying The Structural Violence And The National...
Another governance framework in the literature is the concept of security (Kamradt Scott 2015,
Kassalow 2001, Kemp et. al 2006, Kirton et al 2014, Mustapha Bangura 2016, Ostergard 2002,
Roderick 2006, Smith et al 2003, and Sy Copley 2014). This can be broken down into two subsets:
first, that disease outbreaks can be national security problems, destabilizing economies and regimes,
and even threatening international peace. Second, that building and strengthening the institutions
to provide health (as well as other services like education, or food) will bring human security,
which is freedom from conflict. Mustapha Bangura (2016), Menon Johansson (2005), and
Wilkinson Leach (2014) describe the structural violence, as decisions made, by the state, over a
long period of time that have led to inequalities in the health systems and can lead to human
insecurity. However, human insecurity and lack of these key resources can lead to destabilization
of the state (conflict).
At the advent of the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, many experts asked why these nations were
unable to identify and contain the spread of the disease early on and why was the international
community slow to respond. It is my view that any developing country (especially fragile, post
conflict states) would have struggled with an epidemic of this nature, not just Sierra Leone and
Liberia. However, as many fragile states have under developed health systems, the real questions
are: why are the health systems

Reaction Rate Of Reaction
Background: A clock reaction generally involves a mixture of solutions that, after a certain amount
of time, displays a sudden colour change. This process demonstrates chemical kinetics in action,
which is the study of chemical processes and rates of reaction where the reaction rate is the speed
at which the chemical reactionproceeds. It is dependent on several factors that rely on one basic
underlying principle called collision theory. In order for a reaction to occur, the reactant molecules
must collide with each other with a certain minimum energy called the activation energy to break
and form the appropriate bonds as well as have the correct orientation when colliding. If the
favourable amount of collisions increase, then the rate of the reaction would increase. However, if
the reactant particles do not collide frequently or collide with less energy than the activation energy,
they bounce apart and the reaction would then proceed slowly or not at all. Concentration is one of
the factors that affects reaction rate. Raising the concentration of the reactants, alters the number of
particles per unit volume. Thus the more molecules present in a given volume, the greater the
probability of them colliding. If they have energies equal to or greater than the activation energy, a
higher concentration would therefore result in an increase in the reaction rate. The opposite is true
if there is a lower concentration of reactant molecules.

The Importance Of Cleaning The USPS Fort Worth
Often a refresh is the first step in advocating for a building s potential. Cleaning a building shows
people that you care, said Sarah Holder. Both the actual and perceived value of the building is
raised. Hidden gems are exposed, as the architecture s best assets are revealed in a better light.
And, significantly, it is the exterior that is the first to impress, the first to send the message that a
property is worth the investment. Holder attributes this heightened perceived value as a the positive
impact of a clean, smiling face.
PROSOCO got that it wasn t about exactly replicating [the original appearance] but, rather, making
a noticeable difference, a homage.

Collaborating with Architectural Restoration Experts [architect s credit]
Although PROSOCO is a national firm, we have a strong network of technical field staff, which
allows the company to work with local teams on regional projects. Teaming with Dallas based
Brown Reynolds Watford Architects (BRW) on USPS Fort Worthwas a privilege, as well as another
opportunity to work with regional experts. For more than 30 years, BRW has been focused on
enhancing the built environment through responsible architecture and innovative design. The firm
is renowned for its creative design solutions that work with the natural context and history of each
site. BRW considers both the cultural and practical values of older buildings and examines why
preservation can be beneficial to both a community s culture and the local economy. It was exactly
this shared sensibility that made our work together in Fort Worth so satisfying.
USPS Fort Worth (Summary)
For more than half a century, USPS Fort Worth has been a great source of pride to the local
citizenry. Between 1933 when it opened and well into the 1980s, the post office serviced a broad

People interpret problem situations from particular standpoints and in terms of distinctive interests.
Fortune and Peters (1995) speaks about complex discursive networks challenging the understanding
of systems, problems and solutions to problems. This system of relationships between people,
activities, and the world is defined by Lave and Wenger (1991), as a Community of Practice, (CoP)
which develops over time and in relation to other central and overlapping communities of practice
and is a fundamental condition for the existence of knowledge. The approach focuses on the social
interactive dimensions of situated learning . As people in the group interact with each other,

Abrahamic Religions Of Judaism, Christianity, And Islam
Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are considered an Abrahamic religion. All stated in the Middle
East near Israel. Abrahamic religions are those religions traced by their adherents to Abraham. All
Abrahamic Religions are considered monotheistic, which is the belief in a single, universal, all
encompassing God. Islam, Christianity, and Judaismbelieve that their sacred texts (or scriptures)
are the Word of God. In Christianity the sacred text is the Bible, For Islam it is the Qur an, and for
Judaism it is the Hebrew Bible or Tanakh.
There exists the expectation of an individual who will herald the end of the world, and/or bring
about the Kingdom of God on Earth. Judaism awaits the coming of the Jewish Messiah.
Christianity awaits the Second Coming of Christ. Islam awaits the coming of Mahdi (Sunnis in
his first incarnation, Shi as the return of Muhammad al Mahdi). The three religions encompass
Gabriel as considered an archangel to Jews and Christian and according to Islam Gabriel is the
angel who revealed the Qur an to Muhammad. The religions also adhere to a pilgrimage which is
considered a spiritual long journey or search of great moral significance. Sometimes, it is a
journey to a sacred place or shrine of importance to a person s beliefs and faith. Islam, Christianity,
and Judaism involve themselves in pilgrimages.
Judaism and Islam have strict dietary laws, with lawful food being called kosher in Judaism and
Halaal in Islam. Christianity developed ritual prohibitions against the consumption of meat (but not
fish) on Fridays, and the Christian calendars prescribe abstinence from some foods at various times
of the year; but these customs vary from place to place and changed over time.
In all cultures, human beings make a lifestyle out of interacting with and pledging their devotion to
what are thought to be spiritual powers. Humans connect themselves with these spiritual powers
which give their lives purpose and meaning. Religion is simply used to guide its followers through
this complicated and diverse realm of human experience. According to the American Heritage
Dictionary, religion is, the belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as
creator and governor of the universe. In

  • 4. Different Forms Of Co Teaching Lauren Dursky and I decided that we would implement different forms of co teaching for different subjects. It did not seem efficient to use the same method for each subject, so we decided to vary the instruction. For math, we decided to use station teaching. This allows students to discover a true understanding of each concept through different activities. This style of co teachingalso allows each teacher to incorporate his or her own unique perspective into the classroom. This style could be challenging for math because it requires extra planning and you have to make sure both teachers are teaching similar methods at the same time so movement from one station to the next is smooth. We then decided to use the teaming method for history. The teaming method allows both teachers to present their own views to the class and bounce ideas off of each other (The Power of 2, 2005). Instead of using textbooks to teach history, we decided to take a concept and explore its significance through events and debates. We would start off by each presenting a different point of view on a single event and have students divide into two groups based on their initial thoughts. Each teacher would then lead their portion of the class through research and constructing a debate. After a couple days spent learning about the situation and preparing an argument, the two halves of the class would debate. For language arts we decided to use the parallel teaching method. This method allows for small ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With regard to the relationship between government spending and private consumption, two opponent points of view can be found. The first one states that there is a relation of substitution between government spending and private consumption. However, the other one concludes that government spending and private consumption are complements. Therefore, it can be easily seen that it is a controversial issue for both economists and policy makers. According to the literature, several studies have been done to test the relationship between government spending and private consumption in the context of industrialized countries, OECD countries, and some Asian countries. Of course, Egypt was not one of these studied cases. Moreover, when a study was done to investigate this point of research in the context of a group of African countries (Anoruo 2005) that performed a panel data analysis for 24 countries; Unfortunately, Egypt was not included in this panel data analysis. I believe that utilizing the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Assessment will provide a clearer picture of Scott. The Vineland test would be the most appropriate test to give Scott because the Vineland test is used to measure personal and social skills from birth to adulthood (Manohari, Raman, Ashok, 2013). It is important to note that Scott is in 1st grade and there is very limited academic pattern for him. Taking this assessment will allow teachers and parents to obtain a greater interpretation of Scott. The assessed adaptive behavior done by Vineland is communication, living skills, socialization, and motor. According to the case study these are also the domains in which the parents and teachers have concerns. Because there is a family history of ADHD Vineland remains an appropriate choice of assessment because it addresses intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as autism spectrum disorder and ADHD. Vineland also provides educational and treatment plans (Manohari, Raman, Ashok, 2013). Therefore, it is necessary that all aspects of a student development are looked at in order to make a n appropriate diagnosis. This includes language, social skills, attention, behavior, mood, academic skills, social skills, play skills and motor skills (Manohari, Raman, Ashok, 2013). Having a thorough assessment allows for all areas of development to be addressed to obtain a clear picture of the student. Unfortunately the airports that were built 20 or more years ago, have not grown with the cities. Phoenix has tripled in size in the past 10 years. The tripling of air traffichas not had anywhere to go. The same two runways that have been serving the city since 1935 when the airportwas built have been extremely over loaded. If all the sides were looked at, the advantages to having a strong air travel system in a large city far outweigh the drawbacks. When the busiest two runway airport in the world (Phoenix), has to go through 7 years of red tape bureaucracy to get a runway built, something is wrong with the picture. The procedure should be modified so that changes can be made to the facility when it needs to, not 10 years later. The way to get this done is that we need to start an awareness campaign to let our government know what we want. We live with a democratic government, so we should take advantage of it to speak out for something we want. The most effective way of making our congressman aware of the issue is through a writing campaign. We need to write and have our friends write to get the word out that airports are needed. If the rule makers are aware that there are many people that do want aviation, it might speed up the process. Speaking about airport expansion, There are only 3 runways expansion projects in the country right now on the drawing board, Phoenix, Orlando, and Cleveland. Positive impressions are known as an impression that results in accumulating dirt underneath the sole of the shoes and then depositing on a clean surface. Negative impressions are known as impressions that are made by clean shoe stepping on a dirty surface, thus removing dust from the surface where the shoesole made contact (1, 4). In figure 1, you can see the footwearimpression on a hard surface and soft surface resulting from positive and negative impressions. The first area of comparison is the design on the outsole that is produced, but there are thousands of outsole designs that are being produced. The details on each sole vary from each other and each design has different sizes. Meaning, different types of shoes are made with a different style of an outsole and each size has its own outsole design, which gives further distinct characteristics to the outsole design even if the shoe is in the same size. The resulting physical differences in the size and shape qualities of the sole is of additional comparative usefulness in connecting or disassociating scene impressions with suspect s footwear. In case, if a shoe has a plain outsole, then the physical size and shape is taken into account and can still associate the suspect by comparing it with the impression lifted off from the crime scene. Big brother assures safety and happiness to the citizens as well as Winston towards the end of the novel, But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother (Orwell 298). This shows how Winston thinks about the possible dangers his family was in and how tough it was for them. After, pondering about this subject for some time, he comes to the realization that he does not need to be sad because Big Brother is always watching over him. Winston, along with many of the others, feel that Big Brother is always watching them, which gives them a sense of safety and security in the way that they do not have anything to worry about. Another example of how Oceania can be looked at as a utopia is how no crime ever occurs within their society and country. This is proven in the fact that anyone who tries or have attempted to rebel against the government have been vaporized and the history of their existence has been completely changed. Growing Up In Poverty Research Paper English 101 Cause and Effect Essay LeTitia Persinger April 9th, 2018 Growing Up in Poverty It can be argued that an individual s economic status is one of the most important aspects of a person s place in society, almost more than race, gender, or religion. Poverty can be defined as a state of being extremely poor. In the United States and many other areas throughout the world there are many individuals who lack enough money to provide the basic necessities of life. Poverty is a chronic condition and so many children who grow up in it will face the effects over their lifetime. I see the main effects of growing up in poverty being poor health, a high risk for teen pregnancy, and the lack of education. Poor health is a direct effect of growing up in poverty because children in low economic families may not have access to adequate medical coverage. If a child doesn t have health insurance or if the family doesn t have money to see a physician, the child will not have the recommended checkups or immunizations that help ensure a child is healthy. When a child grows up in poverty the child is more likely to be underdeveloped. Some studies show that poor nutrition and higher stress levels can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many African Americans and many soldiers of all ethnic groups have inspired others to follow their path and that of the early pioneers. The greatest example of change for minorities in the US Armed Services over time is exemplified by General Colin Luther Powell, an African Caribbean American with an impeccable career as a statesman and a retired United States Army four star general. The Devil In The White City By Erick Larson The Devil in the White City Analysis Paper The Devil in the White City a novel written by Erick Larson, a book that consisted of a national wonder in the Chicago World Columbian Exposition of 1893 or better known as the Chicago world fair, as well with the fair goer predating murders committed by the famous serial killer Dr.H.H.Holmes. Larson uses contrast between Chief architect of the Chicago World Fair Daniel Hudson Burnham and serial killer H.H.Holmes. Larson then brings out juxtaposition between the White City and the Black City (World fair vs. Chicago). Larson uses detailed imagery on the visual of the fair. In the time, famous architect Daniel Hudson Burnham won everybody s hearts and trust through the idea of the Chicago World s Exposition (World Fair). The importance of genetic testing in the U.S. and Israel, and the lack of importance of it in Japan is very interesting and culturally based. Rapp also spread their studies into how western reproductive technology has spread to developing nations and the phenomena of wealthy westerners heading to less economically developed countries for IVF, stem cell, and other reproductive treatments and services. For example, embryotic tissue is regarded differently and more secularly in India than many Euro American discourses and thus many seek medical treatment in India that are from other countries. The IVF process greatly effects marriages and depending upon its success further impacts partnerships and marriages, as well as gendered expectations of motherhood and fatherhood. The article Psychosocial Identity Development Theories, highlights the keys points and idea of Erikson s psychosocial theory. Erikson was very focused on the idea of ego identity and obtaining full potential. His theory or model stats that, identity formation is based on overcoming conflicts that individuals encounter during adolescent and early childhood. (Karkouti, 2014, p.257) He believed that all people must endure certain conflicts in their lives, and then overcome them in order to obtain their ego identity. The idea of psychosocial development is focused on social conflicts, and environmental factors. In the psychosocial model that Erikson created, it places people into eight stages. In order for someone to move on to the next stage, they must first overcome the conflict presented to them in the stage that they are in. A well established identity will get stronger the more that conflict is successfully resolved. The eight stages are basic trust versus mistrust, autonomy versus shame and doubt, initiative verses guilt, industry versus inferiority, identity versus identity diffusion, intimacy versus isolation, generativity versus stagnation, and ego integrity versus despair. The Maltese Falcon Comparison Samuel Spade of The Maltese Falcon novel by Dashiell Hammett is quite different from Samuel Spade of The Maltese Falcon motion picture. The book was written a good decade before that version of the movie was produced and in a much more casual time period. The novel focuses on making Sam out to be a more complex character than the movie does. He is not just the good guy as he is portrayed more so in the movie. The time period may have had a lot to do with the differences between the 1941 movie and the book, published in 1929. The book, once again in stride with the time period it was published in, portrays her as a very sexually charged woman, someone who is without a doubt willing to use her sexuality to her advantage in any situation. An example of her comfort with her sexuality is seen when she strips in a bathroom for Spade and In her mien was pride without defiance or embarrassment (196). The movie, however, shows her in a more traditional role of a woman, someone who uses her femininity to her advantage, playing the poor helpless girl more often. Instead of having Brigid strip in the movie, she merely pleads with Sam, begging him to believe that she did not take the money. Each character is real enough to know that right decisions aren t always clear and that sometimes no one can be trusted, as is seen when Spade searches Brigid s room or strip searches her. While the Sam Spade of the movie still reserved his doubts about people he met, he was a much less multi faceted character, one who could still make all the right choices and by the end of the story save the day. The question that many people pose however, is why some Supreme Court decisions implemented almost immediately, and others take a while to even gain some sense of traction. • 38. Causes Of The Roman Empire Kacie Lee Tomasetti AP World P.6 12/06/17 Practice Essay #2 The Roman Empire was one of the most powerful and influential empires of ancient history. Although external strife such as the invasion and attacks from barbarian/Germanic groups contributed to the collapse of the Roman Empire, the internal problems were the main factors in the empire s fall because poor hereditary leadership and the empire becoming too large to administer and manage weakened the empire significantly, which allowed Germanic groups the vanquish the Roman Empire. The Silk Roads were created by Han Wudi during the Han Dynasty, and were trade routes that connected China to the West as far as the Mediterranean Sea. Many items such as religion, disease, technologies, spices, slaves, and animals were traded on these routes, which helped globalize this time period. Many empires/regions such as China, the Islamic States, and the Roman/Byzantine Empire used these trade routes to trade their ideas, technologies, and more. Under the rule of the first Roman emperor, Augustus (also known as Octavian), the Pax Romana started. It was the start of 200 years of Roman peace and tranquility in the Mediterranean region with very little military growth. Another governance framework in the literature is the concept of security (Kamradt Scott 2015, Kassalow 2001, Kemp et. al 2006, Kirton et al 2014, Mustapha Bangura 2016, Ostergard 2002, Roderick 2006, Smith et al 2003, and Sy Copley 2014). This can be broken down into two subsets: first, that disease outbreaks can be national security problems, destabilizing economies and regimes, and even threatening international peace. Second, that building and strengthening the institutions to provide health (as well as other services like education, or food) will bring human security, which is freedom from conflict. Mustapha Bangura (2016), Menon Johansson (2005), and Wilkinson Leach (2014) describe the structural violence, as decisions made, by the state, over a long period of time that have led to inequalities in the health systems and can lead to human insecurity. However, human insecurity and lack of these key resources can lead to destabilization of the state (conflict). At the advent of the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, many experts asked why these nations were unable to identify and contain the spread of the disease early on and why was the international community slow to respond. It is my view that any developing country (especially fragile, post conflict states) would have struggled with an epidemic of this nature, not just Sierra Leone and Liberia. • 42. Reaction Rate Of Reaction Background: A clock reaction generally involves a mixture of solutions that, after a certain amount of time, displays a sudden colour change. This process demonstrates chemical kinetics in action, which is the study of chemical processes and rates of reaction where the reaction rate is the speed at which the chemical reactionproceeds. It is dependent on several factors that rely on one basic underlying principle called collision theory. In order for a reaction to occur, the reactant molecules must collide with each other with a certain minimum energy called the activation energy to break and form the appropriate bonds as well as have the correct orientation when colliding. If the favourable amount of collisions increase, then the rate of the reaction would increase. However, if the reactant particles do not collide frequently or collide with less energy than the activation energy, they bounce apart and the reaction would then proceed slowly or not at all. Concentration is one of the factors that affects reaction rate. Raising the concentration of the reactants, alters the number of particles per unit volume. Thus the more molecules present in a given volume, the greater the probability of them colliding. If they have energies equal to or greater than the activation energy, a higher concentration would therefore result in an increase in the reaction rate. The opposite is true if there is a lower concentration of reactant molecules. The relationship between rate and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
