Senior Mastery Research
Your time is limited, so don t waste it living someone else s life. Don t be trapped by dogma

intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is

what you want to explore and become in your life. Up until then the ideas come from other
places, like your friends or family. The workshop showed us what to do when you get your

When my adult partner and I were thinking of a research question we also wanted something that
I could build a product from. We both went through many ideas of what we were going to do for
a product to answer this research question. The first one was a way that case managers can
catalog the different clients based on the severity of their disability. This was to increase efficiency
in the workplace and a more effective treatment plan for the individuals. The second idea was about
the increase in efficiency and effectiveness and would combine the first idea, and making it more

Federal Marketing Order On Tart Cherries
With recent controversy over the Federal Marketing Order on Tart Cherries, some feel it should
be changed or eliminated. The topic has gone viral from a Facebook post generating an
astonishing 40,000 shares. The farmer, who was outraged with the order, made it seem as though
he had to destroy the oversupply of cherries. Was this even the case? Did he falsify his
information? One thing that s an obvious fact is that the importation of foreign cherries needs to be
regulated, especially if domestic cherries continue to be.
With the recent controversy over the Federal Marketing Order an article has been written by
Jennifer Kiel, an editor for www.FarmProgress.com it explains the difficulties of farming. She has
written numerous articles in relation to the Cherry industry. Therefore, she has a keen sense for the
topic. The publisher is News Watch; the genre is an article within a magazine. The intended
audience is farmers, processors, and general public. The main point is the problem is what is
wrong with the cherry industry. She explains the difficulties of farmers and how many don t want
to go into farming in the future. The purpose is to inform. The main reasons why she wants to
inform the reader is so reader can understand the struggle of modern day cherry farms. The
evidence she used is a first account viewpoint of a farmer and he explained how hard it has
become. He talks about the restriction and the pros/cons of it. She explains viewpoints of both

Community Nursing Plan Paper
Community partners are very important to hosting a community health day focused on
hypertension (HTN). Self management of HTN comes with a high personal and economic cost
(Patros, Schlomann, Schmitke Virgin, 2011). It is critical for community business to support and
help improve the lives of people within their community, by funding events aimed at reducing HTN
healthrisk. A community effort is needed to achieve the goal of healthy people 2010, which is to
increase the proportion of adults with high blood pressure whose blood pressure is controlled
from 25% to 68% (Patros et al., 2011, p.305).

Impact Of Migrations Of Pastoral Peoples On The Middle Ages
Paper 2: Migrations and Pasturalists
Analyze the impact that migrations of pastoral peoples had on the development of civilization from
the Second Wave civilizations to those of the Middle Ages. It is called migration all population
displacements that occurs from a place of origin to another destination and brings a change of
habitual residence in the case of people .The history refers to the great cultural movements,
economic geographical and political that led to massive displacements of the population, both
spontaneous or forced. The development of the first polis also caused a migration from the
countryside to the city then has all civilizations. Mass migrations took place approximately the
third century and eighth century of our era in Europe marking the transition between ancient
history and the Middle Ages that goes by the name of Late Antiquity. Historians often speak of
several phases in these invasions, the role corresponding to the first Germanic peoples (of the third
century to the sixth century), while the latter correspond to the Vikings and the Magyars and the
Arabs (protagonists of the invasion Muslim seventh century and eighth century). The bronze age
witnessed the development and expansion of pastoralism to the central and eastern steppes, the
growth of urban areas in Central Asia oases, and ongoing mutually beneficial commercial activity
between those cultural areas (Christian 902). All these migrations brought drastic consequences in

National Honor Society Greatest Achievements
Getting accepted into the National Honor Society is my proudest achievements to date, and even
though it is not the most outstanding achievement, it was important to me because it transcended
academics. To understand why I m so proud of this achievement, you must first understand the
enigmatic segregation that plagues my school. I attend Gaithersburg High Schoolin Gaithersburg,
Maryland. The city of Gaithersburg is known as the most diverse city in the U.S and this diversity
is well represented at my school. Unfortunately, the diversity in my school is undermined by
segregation between the minority (excluding the Asian students) and the White students (including
the Asian students). Now I m not speaking of segregation in terms of separate water... Show more

many students seek admission. It is looked as one of those clubs that colleges love on your

Markov Chain Model
MODELING CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS
AS MARKOV CHAINS
Phillip E. Pfeifer
Robert L. Carraway f INTRODUCTION
The lifetime value of a customer is an important and useful concept in interactive marketing.
Courtheaux (1986) illustrates its usefulness for a number of managerial problems the most obvious
if not the most important being the budgeting of marketing expenditures for customer acquisition.
It can also be used to help allocate spending across media (mail vs. telephone vs. television),
vehicles (list A vs. list B), and programs (free gift vs. special price), as well as to inform decisions
with respect to retaining existing customers (see, e.g., Hughes, 1997). Jackson

They offer п¬Ѓve such mathematical models, couched in the Dwyer customer retention/migration
classification scheme. While
Dwyer illustrates the calculation of LTV using two extensive numerical examples, Berger and Nasr
provide mathematical equations for LTV for п¬Ѓve situations four involving customer retention and
one involving customer migration.
Blattberg and Deighton (1996) also formulate a mathematical model for LTV, for the purpose of
helping managers decide the optimal balance between customer acquisition spending (investments
to convince prospects to become customers) and customer retention spending (investments to
convince current customers to continue purchasing from the п¬Ѓrm).
Whereas the Berger and Nasr models apply only to customers (people or organizations who have
already purchased from the firm), the Blattberg and Deighton model applies specifically to
prospects (people or organizations who have yet to purchase from the п¬Ѓrm). Because the
Blattberg and Deighton model uses an infinite horizon, their resulting equation for LTV is quite
simple and easy to evaluate, and involves none of the summation operators on which the Berger and
Nasr п¬Ѓnite horizon models rely.
This paper builds directly on the work of
Berger and Nasr (1998) and Blattberg and
Deighton (1996) in that it introduces a general class of mathematical models, Markov Chain
Models, which are appropriate for modeling customer relationships

What Is The Identity Of American Identity
Developed through early Americans events such as the establishment of the Plymouth colony and
how hypocritical the puritans can be, the settlers and colonists can be characterized as hardworking,
diligent, unfaithful, and unfair. As depicted in William Bradford s historical description Of
Plymouth Plantation, the Pilgrims demonstrated a hardworking and loyal spirit as they struggled to
survive their first year, they had a hard time providing a roof over their heads, finding resources,
surviving diseases, and the unforgiving weather. Puritans show their true colors, hypocritical and
shameful through their acts throughout the story of Nathaniel Hawthornes Scarlet Letter.
Conclusively, these characteristics are reflected in American identity in both a positive and negative
way, the Pilgrims taught us what it meant to work for a dollar, we carried on the fakeness from the
Puritans. Based on the events taken place in the early years of American history, the early settlers
and colonists developed American identity through the hard work, diligence, and loyalty they
exhibited to survive; we carry those habits in our genes today. This example articulates that the
early americans worked their butts of to get what they wanted for the future of the colony. They
started out as fifty then it narrowed down to seven, these seven were determined to accomplish their
goal. This supports that the argument that Americans are hardworking people, no matter the
situation. The author uses

History Of Incorporation
The first change according to Nace (2005) is that of easier incorporation This new system of
automatic approval for new corporate charters, known as general incorporation, had first been
introduced in the late 1700s as a means of allowing churches to receive charters without the need
to seek specific approval from the state legislature. (p. 89). Easier incorporation that began in the
late 1700s could be said to be the start of the empowerment of corporations. While only churches
were granted general incorporation in the late 1700s, any individual according to Glasbeek (2002)
can easily create a corporationin today s corporate world One of the more astonishing things about
this legal creation (and there are many) is that there are virtually no legal barriers to hurdle for
any individual who wants to form a corporation. (p. 7). In essence, the first change marked the
beginning of the empowerment of corporations by a way of making it easier to incorporate. In
relation to easier incorporation, the second change is that of perpetual existence as it was
described by Nace (2005) The classic corporation was chartered for a limited term and had to
periodically apply to have its charter extended every six to fifty years, depending on the type of
business. After the advent of general incorporation statutes, states gradually began to replace
limited terms with perpetual terms (almost half done so by 1903) (p. 91).

Private Property In John Locke s Second Treatise Of Society
Society can be structured in many ways. A good society requires mutual consent amongst its
members, and private property is at the root of earning this consent. In John Locke s Second
Treatise of Government, private property defines man as an individual, forces him into a society,
and is his instrument in achieving justice. It explains how man goes from existing in a state of
nature to participation in a social contract. Aristotle s Politics is concerned with how private
propertyis closely connected to the virtue of a city and the pursuit of a good life. Thomas More s
Utopiasatirizes the ideal city because it completely abolishes private property. The author argues
that this is possible in a far fetched city, but it cannot bring order to a city that is already
established. From these three works, it is evident that private property is essential to the proper
organization of a city because it allows for individuality and development of the virtues. It is
important that labor be involved in the claiming of private property. Locke believes the earth is
common property until a person exerts his or her activity on it (18 20). It eliminates any doubt or
quarreling over who has a right to what property (Locke 27). Since it is labor indeed that puts the
difference of value on everything, people are set apart by the amount of unique effort they exert to
obtain their property. This proves man is perfectly his own and does not belong in common to
others (Locke 29). Rather than

Taking a Look at Miracles
What are miracles? Who would be able to do these miracles? A miracle is an
event which the force of nature including the natural powers of man cannot of
themselves produce, and which must therefore, referred to a supernatural agency
(Fisher1900,9). The existence of the miracles in hand of human still a debatable idea
everywhere. Regarding to some religious perspective, perfuming miracles is an
ability that given by God to holy persons such as prophets and so on. It has
also, different perspectives for religious people for whom who have the ability to
perform miracles. In my study about miracles in the Bible, I found that, miracles
takes place in many chapters, mainly in the four gospels. It has been recorded in
seven different categories. In this paper, I will focus on two of the prophetic miracles
that has performed by Jesus. In this paper I will show that Luke uses of prophetic
miracles of Jesus was to prove that he has special power make him the son of God
as well as the idea of incarnation.
Jesus performed numerous miracles occurrences throughout his earthly
ministry. While these super natural efforts extend it s benefits to the ones who need
it and, therefore showed Jesus sympathy on humankind, their primary reasons was
to affirm his claim to being the Chosen Son of God. These super natural powers
represented with Jesus in several forms. He showed his ability over health problems

Let Me Know You Essay
Let Me Know You
My work Let Me Know You is a performance: without the audiences knowing what is going to
happen, I sniff their body from toe to head like an animal, with no physical touching. The most of
audiences feel uncomfortable during the performance, others, try to sniff me back at the same time.
Humans are commonly known to have five primary senses: sight, hearing, taste, touching and smell,
governed by five important organs: eyes, ears, tongue, skin and nose. Smell is often ignored ,
though, it plays an important role in our daily life without people noticing it. The purpose of my
performance is to remind people to explore all their senses, be more aware of the surroundings and
their own body. I developed new respects on objects that we see daily, and grew more appreciations
of human nature.
Scent takes a much important position in animal s world. People who have pets often notice
that cats take long time to find biscuits near their face. It is because their sights are bad in short
distance, and they rely on nose to locate food; in the wild, big cats spray urine to make their
territory, average 300 square kilometers; in the water, a shark can sense one drop of blood in a
million drops of water; dogs smells each others anus at the first time they meet, they only shut
down their tails to hide their odour when they are scared or dominated. Human, instead, are trying
to conceal body odour as much as they can. Being smelly is seen as rude and insanitary. Shampoos

Many individuals have made astounding contributions to society in the past 200 years; however,

Louis Pasteur, born December 27th, 1822, in the town of Dole, Eastern France, is one of the most
noteworthy individuals to live during the last 200 years. Responsible for a myriad of
accomplishments ranging from the debunking of the infamous spontaneous generation theory to

To begin with, Pasteur can be credited with the discovery the existence of molecular asymmetry,
which effectively created the field of science known as Stereochemistry. In the ten years following
his discovery, Pasteur further investigated the ability of organic substances to rotate the plane of
polarized light; with the information from his studies, he became convinced him that asymmetry
was one of the fundamental characteristics of living matter, a vastly important contribution to the
field of science in general. In addition to this, Stereochemistry allows us to know how a certain
molecule will interact with an organism; anti nausea medications in the 1950 s that created
devastating birth defects with flipper like appendages is just one example of the consequences of
not following this man s research. In 1854, Pasteur was appointed professor of chemistry and

he accepted a plea for studying solutions to problems associated to alcohol production at a local

In real life, humans have many traits that allow us to be considered top of the hierarchical food
chain, yet allow us to remain in classifications with animal species mammals. Humans are a highly
developed species, with abilities that surpass nearly all other animals on the planet. This being said,
this complexity allows for many conflicts to arise, as well as differing opinions on solutions.
Although humans are so evolved, some argue that animal instincts found in humans are still quite
prevalent. In The Walking Dead, the virus being embedded in everyone s brain could be a reflection
of humans inherent animalistic qualities. If we continue with this analogy, the virus could represent
the potential that every human has to become a monster (in a figurative sense in reality, or a literal
sense in the series). This furthers the idea that zombie narratives tend to mirror societies fears and
anxieties over the condition of the world, or possible events that could occur, all while placing
responsibility at the hands of humanity. Although The Walking Dead in particular does not explain

Informative Speech On Kendrick Lamar
On your free time, what do you do you like to do? On my free time, I love to listen to music. I
listen to all types of music, whether it s Pop or R B but I mostly listen to Hip Hop. My favorite
hip hop artist to listen to is Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick Lamar is an American rapper and
songwriter that was born in 1987 and raised in Compton, California. He is signed to the record
labels Top Dawg Entertainment and Aftermath, the latter of which was founded by Dr. Dre
. I know
what you re probably thinking. Hearing that he is from Compton and that he s a rapper makes you
think that he raps about money, cars and hoes but that isn t the case. He has been called by many a

Since his debut album Section .80 to To Pimp a Butterfly , Kendrick has raised awareness to many
about current issues that are happening in the world, like racism, violence and self hate among
the youth. I was exposed to Kendrick s music three years ago when I read a Complex article
about him being snubbed from winning the Best Rap Album Grammy. I had heard of Kendrick
before when he signed on with Dr. Dre but I never looked too deep into his music. But after
hearing about the outrage that Kendrick got robbed, I decided to find out what happened. I found
out that the other nominees included big names, like Drake, Jay Z and Kanye West, but the Grammy
went to Macklemore Ryan Lewis for their album The Heist . I remember seeing the main
question of all the articles was Did they win because they were white? I thought it was ridiculous
that people were freaking out over someone s skin color so I decide to judge both of the albums

makes us feel alive. That aspect of my life for me is helping others. At the beginning of college, I
was troubled with deciding if I wanted to pursue business or psychology. I spent years climbing the
business ladder to achieve highly reputable internships. The glamour spoke to me, people were

always felt stuck under a cloud of confusion. To cope with this confusion, I engaged with

Compare And Contrast Porter s Five Forces And...
The global pharmaceutical industry is one that is seen to be riddled with misunderstanding and
confusion; however, many of the questions emerging companies have can be answered by a
thorough analysis of this industry and how these companies compare to one another on many
different fronts. Analyzing the global pharmaceutical industrycan bring to light how we in the
United Statescompare on the grounds of industry attractiveness to our global counterparts.
Looking at Porter s Five Forces model and how it fits into the global pharmaceutical industry can
start to explain the true attractiveness of the industry. Buyer power tends to be the strongest force
in this industry due to the price control policies in state and private sectors that are a large
determinant when it comes to likeliness to purchase. Another issue is that medical professionals
wield a significant amount of power in what drugs are available to consumers or not. It is also to
important to note that entry barriers may include many governmental regulatory issues that will
vary from country to country and largely affect if specific drugs are allowed to be sold or not.
Rivalry in the industry is also very strong due to the strong competition between larger firms and
smaller generic companies fighting for the customer s loyalty. Supplier power is also important to
note while looking at this industry because the nature of the products being created require a lot of
extra manufacturing and time. Due to the

The Health Care Of The United States
Introduction
In 2012, the Governor in Council had passed two orders that would change the way refugees
could receive health care. The health care went from being one level to a three tiered system.
Some refugees cannot receive fundamental health care with these changes. Refugees from
countries like Afghanistan and Iraq will not be able to receive the health care coverage anymore.
Medications like insulin and cardiac drugs will not be supplied to some refugees, even though they
are lifesaving drugs. Women and children will not be able to receive pre natal, obstetrical and
pediatric care either. This has led to eight main issues, some involving infringements on an
individual s Charter rights.

Are the OIC s Ultra Vires the Governor in Council?
The question that must be answered is whether the executive branch of the federal government has
the authority to spend money providing health care to individuals seeking protection of Canada as
an exercise of the Crown prerogative and if the prerogative has been extinguished by the enactment
of the IRPA and the Canada Health Act.
The Court found that this argument is contrary to the applicant s ultimate interests, because they
were only seeking to restore the IFHP to the pre 2012 system, and not wanting the government to
spend more money. The prerogative of the Crown can only be abolished or extinguished if there
are clear words in a statute. Under s. 17 of the Interpretation Act, it defines how the Crown s
prerogative can be interpreted only in a statute. The OIC merely adopts some terms, like refugee,
from the IRPA. It does not

Further, as a post war nation, the state commits to developing its economy by gathering

The Subordinate Status Of Women
The subordinate status of women in America began with the premise of English common law
within Colonial America; these English social constructs within Colonial America were adopted
into the American legal status, thus playing a vital role in intimate partner violence against
women in America due to the implementation of the English doctrine that husbands are legally
able to physically discipline their wives and children if deemed necessary (Garcia, 2010; Gelles,
1997). Among the many constructs of the English law, the separate women s sphere ideology,
which designated a woman s place within her family as a private sphere (i.e. home and family),
while a man protected and provided for her through the public sphere (i.e. work and politics)
(Garcia, 2010). Although wifebattering laws have been passed since the Revolutionary War, they
have been loosely upheld and indifferently enforced due to the idea that wife discipline was a
private affair and did not require the authorities (Straus and Gelles, 1989). During the Victorian
Era (1837 1901), a new image of womanhood was founded and designated women as moral
figures that were too delicate and frail to engage in hard labor that most women (i.e. the lower
and middle class) were familiar with. Pascale and Schenome (as cited in Garcia, 2010) state that
this social construct would later be known as the cult of true womanhood , and could only be

The Importance Of Film Evaluation
The evaluation of a film assigns some form of value to a film and the experience you encountered
while watching the film. Evaluation can imply the criteria and standards that you can argue about
to place value on a film. Thus, giving people a reason to question a film to develop reasons, make
such standards are met and to understand the film. These standards can stem from the classical
evaluation and pluralistic category method which has given viewers a blueprint of how you should
properly evaluate a film. There are certain ways that you can go about judging a films effectiveness.
For instance, the classical evaluation method imposes the use of cinematicity within three concepts
that all films should have. Like medium specificity, cinematicity allows film to distinguish itself
from theatre with the use of close ups, camera movement, etc.; thus, creates a universal structure
for critics to judge a film. This is based on the creative style of the directorand how much the
viewers admire the way the has stuck with its cinematicity. However, the pluralistic category does
not base its evaluation on style and opinion. In all, these types of evaluations are used in different
ways which will be further explained throughout this essay.
According to the classical theorist, there should be a display of visual representation which the
solvet montagists, realists and the Perkins theory which was founded by Victor Perkins book, Film

Supply, Demand Price Elasticity
Supply, Demand and Price Elasticity
People and companies make economic decisions on a daily basis by deciding how much of
something they will buy and what prices they are willing to pay for the goods or services. Through
individual decision making, consumers determine supply demands for their needs and wants, and
companies decide which goods and how many goods are to be sold, and how much to charge
consumers. There are many fundamental concepts and definitions that are important to
understanding the economics. The concepts that will be discussed in this paper are supply, demand,
and price elasticity.
Demand Variables Demand is defined as the amount of a good or service that consumers are
willing and able to purchase (Hubbard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Hubbard and O Brien, these technological changes are usually positive changes for
the company and help them find ways to make their inputs go farther, or cost less. The price that
other companies are charging for substitutes will also affect supply. If a substitute product has a
low price, consumers are more likely to go with that product. Many times, companies are forced
to lower their prices to compete with comparable products. The number of companies that enter
the market changes the supply as well. More companies in the market mean more comparable
products will be produced. Companies also look at future price expectations when deciding how
much to supply. If economists predict that prices will increase in the future, it benefits the
company to withhold some of the supply. Walt Disney Films does this with their VHS/DVD
collections. They keep their movies in a vault and re release them every few years. Disney has
created demand for their product due to the limited release and availability of their product.
Companies should increase production when they can charge more for their product, as they can
lose money if they are slow to respond to demand.
Market Equilibrium
The purpose of the market is to bring buyers and sellers together, with the interaction between the
two leading to production of what consumers want most. This is also known as

The walls of the chariot, or the box, were generally leather with a lightweight wooden frame.
Within the box were two men, a driver and a warrior. Projecting from the chariot was a long pole

were two horses pulling each chariot, it is believed later on the setup was changed to fit four
horses. On the right side of the chariot, the driver s job was to control the horses and to get the
warrior in the best position to make his attacks. His attacks could be made with a bow and arrow,

While the journalism profession might appear to be as straightforward as black and white, there are
a handful of grey areas that raise ethical concerns. These areas can range from something as simple
as the correct attribution of information, to as complex as the controversial practice of native
advertisements. Journalists, however, have access to an abundance of resources, including multiple
sets of guidelines, which can help them make a difficult decision about an ethical dilemma.
Whether they are filing stories or creating media campaigns, journalists should consult these codes
of ethicsto ensure that they are fulfilling their responsibility as watchdogs of society. Some of the
more commonly referred to guidelines include the Bok Model... Show more content on

The animal rights organization should seek different ways to convey their message to the public.
Advocacy groups may not be associated directly with the journalism and media industries, yet it
should still consult with ethical guidelines pertaining to media related projects. By taking a
moment to step back from the campaign and view it from the perspective of the community, as
suggested in the Bok Model, PETA would have identified the contentious nature of the images. The
Potter Box model would also have been helpful for PETA, considering that it helps organizations
break down an issue by identifying facts, values, principles, and loyalties. While this campaign has
been banned in Germany and remains detested in other parts of the world, the animal rights
organization is not affected. It continues to move forward with controversial media campaigns such
as its Go Veg movement that compared women to meat and its advertisement featuring Joanna
Krupa modeling nude with a crucifix, which received significant objection from the Catholic
Church. Since advocacy organizations such as PETA are not legally bound to ethical guidelines,
they are not pressured to abide by existing ones. However, if there was significant public support,
advocacy organizations could be subject to adhering to ethical codes that would force them to
consider the potential

What Is The Libertarian View Of Justice
Most people strive to have a comfortable way of living, whether that be from working hard or
signing up for assistance. While some libertarians are under the impression that everything should
be each individual s own responsibility, they sometimes do not realize how much free assistance
they have gotten throughout their lives. On the other hand, people who get assistance from the
government or donors sometimes take advantage of other people instead of working hard. This
position paper will focus on two philosophers that state opposing views of justice: John Rawls and
Robert Nozick. While John Rawls stands behind justice as fairness, the libertarian view of justice
is presented by Robert Nozick. John Rawls justice as fairness is the most... Show more content on

It would not be fair if a child from a poor family was refused education because they did not have
the means to pay for it. It is only just if each child has the same opportunity to develop or expand
their talents. One of Rawls most popular ideas is the veil of ignorance. In this veil of ignorance,
everyone is forced to ignore their own personal circumstances so they can be less bias when
making a decision on justice. One must imagine that they have no idea where they are placed in
the society. If a rich person imagines being in the worst possible class there is, their views on
justice are likely to change. If they were once resentful of extra taxes coming out of their
paychecks to help the poor, imagining themselves being poor would make them understand
those extra taxes. Conversely, if a poor person imagines being extremely rich, they would not
like to have restrictions on how much money they are allowed to make. Furthermore, this social
contract is made voluntarily by members of the society to make it the most just. Since all of the
people could potentially be in the same financial standing, they will give up what they feel is
necessary to make the best bargain. It makes the rich realize that they would still want the best
education for their children even if they were poor. It also makes them recognize the need for
decent healthcare to all of the different classes. Adequate housing would also be wanted for
everyone if people did not know what class they would be

How Parachutes Were Used During WWI
How Parachutes were used during the war? Parachutes proved capable for more than entertainment
when they began to apply them during the First World War. During the First World War parachutes
were a valuable utility that was used to save balloonists observing during the war that had serious
problems with the balloon. Parachutes were mostly just used for balloonists since Americans
decided that if they gave parachutes to pilots, that they would jump out when unnecessary, and
leave the aircraft to be destroyed. But, only after realizing that pilots were difficult to train and far
more valuable than aircraft did they start to allow their pilots to begin wearing the guardian angels
that saved them from horrendous deaths. Parachutes obtained another

Throughout history, historians and archeologists uncovered many fascinating discoveries. Two
significant findings were the Clovis and Folsom discoveries. The early humans left behind clues
for archaeologists to understand a part of their life. There were a few written records, so
archaeologists focused primarily on artifacts to find out information about the past. In order to find
out more about the past, archaeologists looked to the Folsom discoveries to help recognize early
human origin, migration, and culture. In Folsom, New Mexico, a world famous archaeological site,
archaeologists has made revolutionary discoveries, providing information on human migration and

North American is filled with a vast variety of different environments. Due to the diversity of the
environments, cultures of the Native Americans were diverse as well. Many cultural beliefs of
the Native Americans in North America had survived for many generations and continues even

America alone (8). A tribe that roamed the Great Plains was known as the Indians of the Great
Plains. The group of Indians was widely known for its nomadic life as the group followed the
bisons as bisons migrated through the Great Plains. The Great Plains hunters originally used
spears like their fellow ancestors, the Paleo Indians. However, the spears were replaced by the

The Battle of Long Island
It is said by General Howe that nearly 32,000 British soldiers (with 8,000 Germans) attended the
battle against 15,000 American troops. This British army is also accompanied by over 250 British
ships, including 73 warships. This army from the British is the largest amount of troops that the
British ever sent out in history. The Battle of Long Island was the largest battle of the American
revolution. The winner of the battle will the control of New York City and cut communications

On the American side, there was a lot of bad effects after the battle. The Continental armyhad a
loss of more than 300 troops killed, 700 wounded, and nearly 1,000 captured. Among the
captured were Sullivan, Stirling, and Nathan Hale. Nale was an American spy in enemy territory
who was captured by the British. He was hung for treason by the British in front of the Dove
Tavern. His famous last words, My only regret is I have but one life to give my country, were
uttered before his death. The meaning of the words are that he would do anything for his country,
even lay down his life. The Americans lost New York City, losing communications between the
North and South colonies. When Washington lost control of New York City, he also lost control of
surrounding areas when Washington was forced to retreat through New Jersey and to Pennsylvania.
The British had more good effects than bad ones. The bad effects were that less than 64 killed, 31
missing and 293 wounded. The good effects are that they gained control of New York City, and
surrounding areas. They cut communications between the North and South

Case Study Of PCI DSS Compliance
PCI DSS Compliance and How to Become PCI DSS Compliant.
What is PCI Compliance?
PCI compliance is officially known as Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
It s a proprietary information security standard for all organizations that store, process or transmit
branded credit cards from the major card schemes including Visa, MasterCard, American Express,
Discover.
It s a universal security standard that was first set up in December 2004 when the credit card
companies came together to form Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC)
the organization behind PCI DSS. The most current PCI DSS (version 3.2) came out in April 2016.

An Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) is an organization with a set of security services and tools
(ASV scan solutions) that conduct external vulnerability scanning services to validate with the
external scanning requirements.
As for if you need it, it depends.
If you re applying for an SAQ A EP, you need it. It s one of the questions in the form and while
AOC A it doesn t necessarily mean that you need to be performing scans by approved ASVs.
So, from the point of view of SAQ/AOC A, an ASV scan is not needed. At the same time, some
acquirers (payment providers) have it as one of the requirements to use their services. Again, it s
important to your providers directly even if you are applying for SAQ A. The scanning vendors
ASV scan solution is tested and approved by PCI SSC before an ASV added to list.
Compliance Process Summary
1. Determine your compliance level with your bank and different credit card companies.
Remember, each has their own slightly different rules.
2. Complete the relevant Self Assessment Questionnaire according to its instructions.
3. Complete the relevant Attestation of Compliance form (contained in your SAQ

Such policy seems to be working with plagiarism at e.g. Universities, but in term of intellectual
property the intangible aspect of the product makes it more difficult to control. Therefore
stopping online piracy is easier said than done, as it would require enormous human resources
from a government to track down illegal websites and taking a legal action against them leading
to the closure. One case study worth following regarding this issue was on the major streaming
website TV SHACK.net has been seized many times by the US government and it kept changing
the domain addresses to overseas addresses as .co or .bz. The owner, 23 year old student Richard

Department has been seeking to extradite him from the UK since May 2011 BBC reports.
Streaming itself is a grey area in many countries, i.e. Germany, where it is not perceived as

fact that the content was stored on foreign servers the law enforcement was extremely difficult,
but now it has been set an example worldwide of tackling with piracy. On entering the internet

The Senate Should Be Abolished Of The Senate
The Senate plays a key role in tandem with the House of Commons, in the operation of Canada s
government, some people think that the Senate should be abolished; however without the Senate,
The right to bear arms could become true for Canada. The Senate should be reformed; abolishing
or keeping the Senate at its current state would be unjust. The current Senate is not elected,
effective, nor equal. If the Senate is kept at its current state, it will continue to operate fine,
however the Senate can be much more effective at what it does if it gets amended. Currently the
Senate is not elected, equal, nor efficient. People who comprise the Senate are selected by the
governor general on the advice of the Prime Minister, so those selected most likely will act in good
intention towards the Prime Minister. The Senate, unlike the House was designed to represent
Canadas regions, however it over represents some provinces at the expense of others. For example
currently, Quebec and Ontario each have 24 seats, the same amount of seats as the four Western
provinces as a whole. Atlantic Canada, with a mere 7% of the population, holds a unproportional
29% of the seats. Canadians deserve laws that are fair and free of errors, and the Senate contributes
to that. The Senate s job is to foster national unity, however currently they act in the interest of
themselves and the Prime Minister rather than in the interest of the people.
Abolishing the Senate is country suicide. If there is a

Why Factory Farms Are Cruel
Factory farms are cruel to animals and therefor people should not consume factory farmed
poultry or eggs from the poultry. Chickens in factory farms will never experience anything a
natural and normal life, they will never be able to perch, take dust baths, or even meet their
mothers. ( Chickens Used for Food. ) Even though chickens are just as intelligent as dogs they
are put into stressful and harmful conditions in these farms for their whole lives. Being put into
a confined space causes a chicken and other poultry lots of stress which can lead to violence
amongst the birds. ( Farm Animals. ) Because of this violence the birds have their beaks
trimmed which can lead to chronic pain and reduced feed intake. ( Current Developments in

Key Theories Of Learning
Learning theories are conceptual frameworks that describe how information is absorbed, processed
and retained during learning. Theories of learning explain how people learn and can help teachers
to understand the meaning of things and review effectively and confidently their practice
accordingly (Wilson,2009). The main theories of learning are behaviourism, cognitivism and
humanism. Behaviourism is based on the idea that people respond to things around them.
Behaviour is learned from things seen around them or from the environment and that learning and
ability to learn requires a change in behaviour. The key figures of behaviourism are P.Pavlov,
S.Freud, J.B.Watson, B.F.Skinner. Cognitivism is based on the idea that learning is a process...

has been used by many nations and armies throughout the history of the world. Some have utilized
the cavalry with tremendous success, while others have over looked the value that they could bring

generations of warfighters and historians in an effort to shed light on what was successful and what

The morning of 2 July did not leave those in Colonel Devin s 2ND Brigade unengaged as they
were held on the front lines from early morning until past noon. Though the fighting continued,
General Buford requested to be allowed to go to the rear for an extensive refit (Longacre, 1986, p.

The multiple conflicting orders that Brigadier General David McMurtrie Gregg, Commanding

his division though merely reflecting the uncertainties of the developing campaign, the dispatches

Gregg s division arrived to the battlefield his men engaged the Confederates at Brinkerhoff s

Don t let the noise of others opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. Steve Jobs, Commencement address, Stanford University, June 12, 2005 Junior workshop is the first step to seeing your potential career. It is a time when you decide what you want to explore and become in your life. Up until then the ideas come from other places, like your friends or family. The workshop showed us what to do when you get your career. It provided some useful skills such as how to find the right career path and how to conduct an interview. I wrote papers that opened my mind and made me think about my future for the first time. • 3. Federal Marketing Order On Tart Cherries With recent controversy over the Federal Marketing Order on Tart Cherries, some feel it should be changed or eliminated. The topic has gone viral from a Facebook post generating an astonishing 40,000 shares. The farmer, who was outraged with the order, made it seem as though he had to destroy the oversupply of cherries. Was this even the case? Did he falsify his information? One thing that s an obvious fact is that the importation of foreign cherries needs to be regulated, especially if domestic cherries continue to be. With the recent controversy over the Federal Marketing Order an article has been written by Jennifer Kiel, an editor for www.FarmProgress.com it explains the difficulties of farming. Self management of HTN comes with a high personal and economic cost (Patros, Schlomann, Schmitke Virgin, 2011). It is critical for community business to support and help improve the lives of people within their community, by funding events aimed at reducing HTN healthrisk. A community effort is needed to achieve the goal of healthy people 2010, which is to increase the proportion of adults with high blood pressure whose blood pressure is controlled from 25% to 68% (Patros et al., 2011, p.305). • 5. Impact Of Migrations Of Pastoral Peoples On The Middle Ages Paper 2: Migrations and Pasturalists Analyze the impact that migrations of pastoral peoples had on the development of civilization from the Second Wave civilizations to those of the Middle Ages. It is called migration all population displacements that occurs from a place of origin to another destination and brings a change of habitual residence in the case of people .The history refers to the great cultural movements, economic geographical and political that led to massive displacements of the population, both spontaneous or forced. The development of the first polis also caused a migration from the countryside to the city then has all civilizations. Mass migrations took place approximately the third century and eighth century of our era in Europe marking the transition between ancient history and the Middle Ages that goes by the name of Late Antiquity. Historians often speak of several phases in these invasions, the role corresponding to the first Germanic peoples (of the third century to the sixth century), while the latter correspond to the Vikings and the Magyars and the Arabs (protagonists of the invasion Muslim seventh century and eighth century). The bronze age witnessed the development and expansion of pastoralism to the central and eastern steppes, the growth of urban areas in Central Asia oases, and ongoing mutually beneficial commercial activity between those cultural areas (Christian 902). All these migrations brought drastic consequences in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. National Honor Society Greatest Achievements Getting accepted into the National Honor Society is my proudest achievements to date, and even though it is not the most outstanding achievement, it was important to me because it transcended academics. To understand why I m so proud of this achievement, you must first understand the enigmatic segregation that plagues my school. I attend Gaithersburg High Schoolin Gaithersburg, Maryland. The city of Gaithersburg is known as the most diverse city in the U.S and this diversity is well represented at my school. Unfortunately, the diversity in my school is undermined by segregation between the minority (excluding the Asian students) and the White students (including the Asian students). Now I m not speaking of segregation in terms of separate water... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since I m black, it is as if I have unknowingly signed a contract that restricts me from being intelligent. I must automatically talk ghetto and be and only be interested in sports. Consequently, when I get good grades, I m called a try hard and when I speak properly, I m asked, why I talk so white . This brings me back to my proudest achievement, being accepted into the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society at my school is competitive because many students seek admission. It is looked as one of those clubs that colleges love on your application; therefore teachers are very selective when it comes to accepting students. Students must have at least a 3.5 GPA, 80 community service hours, leadership roles, and 2 teacher recommendations to even be considered. Being accepted into the National Honor Society served as a slap in the face to the absurd stereotypes that my peers possess. I showed them you can be a black student and still be intelligent or a white student and exceed in athletics. You don t have to adhere to the stereotypes that others have about your race. Just be ... • 7. Markov Chain Model MODELING CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS AS MARKOV CHAINS Phillip E. Pfeifer Robert L. Carraway f INTRODUCTION The lifetime value of a customer is an important and useful concept in interactive marketing. Courtheaux (1986) illustrates its usefulness for a number of managerial problems the most obvious if not the most important being the budgeting of marketing expenditures for customer acquisition. It can also be used to help allocate spending across media (mail vs. telephone vs. television), vehicles (list A vs. list B), and programs (free gift vs. special price), as well as to inform decisions with respect to retaining existing customers (see, e.g., Hughes, 1997). They offer п¬Ѓve such mathematical models, couched in the Dwyer customer retention/migration classiп¬Ѓcation scheme. While Dwyer illustrates the calculation of LTV using two extensive numerical examples, Berger and Nasr provide mathematical equations for LTV for п¬Ѓve situations four involving customer retention and one involving customer migration. Blattberg and Deighton (1996) also formulate a mathematical model for LTV, for the purpose of helping managers decide the optimal balance between customer acquisition spending (investments to convince prospects to become customers) and customer retention spending (investments to convince current customers to continue purchasing from the п¬Ѓrm). Whereas the Berger and Nasr models apply only to customers (people or organizations who have already purchased from the п¬Ѓrm), the Blattberg and Deighton model applies speciп¬Ѓcally to prospects (people or organizations who have yet to purchase from the п¬Ѓrm). Because the Blattberg and Deighton model uses an inп¬Ѓnite horizon, their resulting equation for LTV is quite simple and easy to evaluate, and involves none of the summation operators on which the Berger and Nasr п¬Ѓnite horizon models rely. This paper builds directly on the work of Berger and Nasr (1998) and Blattberg and Deighton (1996) in that it introduces a general class of mathematical models, Markov Chain Models, which are appropriate for modeling customer relationships ... • 8. What Is The Identity Of American Identity Developed through early Americans events such as the establishment of the Plymouth colony and how hypocritical the puritans can be, the settlers and colonists can be characterized as hardworking, diligent, unfaithful, and unfair. As depicted in William Bradford s historical description Of Plymouth Plantation, the Pilgrims demonstrated a hardworking and loyal spirit as they struggled to survive their first year, they had a hard time providing a roof over their heads, finding resources, surviving diseases, and the unforgiving weather. Puritans show their true colors, hypocritical and shameful through their acts throughout the story of Nathaniel Hawthornes Scarlet Letter. Conclusively, these characteristics are reflected in American identity in both a positive and negative way, the Pilgrims taught us what it meant to work for a dollar, we carried on the fakeness from the Puritans. Based on the events taken place in the early years of American history, the early settlers and colonists developed American identity through the hard work, diligence, and loyalty they exhibited to survive; we carry those habits in our genes today. This example articulates that the early americans worked their butts of to get what they wanted for the future of the colony. They started out as fifty then it narrowed down to seven, these seven were determined to accomplish their goal. This supports that the argument that Americans are hardworking people, no matter the situation. The author uses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. History Of Incorporation The first change according to Nace (2005) is that of easier incorporation This new system of automatic approval for new corporate charters, known as general incorporation, had first been introduced in the late 1700s as a means of allowing churches to receive charters without the need to seek specific approval from the state legislature. (p. 89). Easier incorporation that began in the late 1700s could be said to be the start of the empowerment of corporations. While only churches were granted general incorporation in the late 1700s, any individual according to Glasbeek (2002) can easily create a corporationin today s corporate world One of the more astonishing things about this legal creation (and there are many) is that there are virtually no legal barriers to hurdle for any individual who wants to form a corporation. (p. 7). In essence, the first change marked the beginning of the empowerment of corporations by a way of making it easier to incorporate. In relation to easier incorporation, the second change is that of perpetual existence as it was described by Nace (2005) The classic corporation was chartered for a limited term and had to periodically apply to have its charter extended every six to fifty years, depending on the type of business. After the advent of general incorporation statutes, states gradually began to replace limited terms with perpetual terms (almost half done so by 1903) (p. 91). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Private Property In John Locke s Second Treatise Of Society Society can be structured in many ways. A good society requires mutual consent amongst its members, and private property is at the root of earning this consent. In John Locke s Second Treatise of Government, private property defines man as an individual, forces him into a society, and is his instrument in achieving justice. It explains how man goes from existing in a state of nature to participation in a social contract. Aristotle s Politics is concerned with how private propertyis closely connected to the virtue of a city and the pursuit of a good life. Thomas More s Utopiasatirizes the ideal city because it completely abolishes private property. The author argues that this is possible in a far fetched city, but it cannot bring order to a city that is already established. From these three works, it is evident that private property is essential to the proper organization of a city because it allows for individuality and development of the virtues. It is important that labor be involved in the claiming of private property. Locke believes the earth is common property until a person exerts his or her activity on it (18 20). It eliminates any doubt or quarreling over who has a right to what property (Locke 27). Since it is labor indeed that puts the difference of value on everything, people are set apart by the amount of unique effort they exert to obtain their property. This proves man is perfectly his own and does not belong in common to others (Locke 29). Rather than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A miracle is an event which the force of nature including the natural powers of man cannot of themselves produce, and which must therefore, referred to a supernatural agency (Fisher1900,9). The existence of the miracles in hand of human still a debatable idea everywhere. Regarding to some religious perspective, perfuming miracles is an ability that given by God to holy persons such as prophets and so on. It has also, different perspectives for religious people for whom who have the ability to perform miracles. In my study about miracles in the Bible, I found that, miracles takes place in many chapters, mainly in the four gospels. It has been recorded in seven different categories. In this paper, I will focus on two of the prophetic miracles that has performed by Jesus. In this paper I will show that Luke uses of prophetic miracles of Jesus was to prove that he has special power make him the son of God as well as the idea of incarnation. Jesus performed numerous miracles occurrences throughout his earthly ministry. While these super natural efforts extend it s benefits to the ones who need it and, therefore showed Jesus sympathy on humankind, their primary reasons was to affirm his claim to being the Chosen Son of God. Her rebellion temper and colorful style is capturing along with her outstanding voice. Stefani was born (1969) in Fullerton, California and begun her musical carrier at age 17 (Billboard,.2017). I would consider Stefani a performer with Dionysian influence. Her music has always been passionate and reflecting her life experiences and views on current issues. Humans are commonly known to have five primary senses: sight, hearing, taste, touching and smell, governed by five important organs: eyes, ears, tongue, skin and nose. Smell is often ignored , though, it plays an important role in our daily life without people noticing it. The purpose of my performance is to remind people to explore all their senses, be more aware of the surroundings and their own body. I developed new respects on objects that we see daily, and grew more appreciations of human nature. Scent takes a much important position in animal s world. People who have pets often notice that cats take long time to find biscuits near their face. It is because their sights are bad in short distance, and they rely on nose to locate food; in the wild, big cats spray urine to make their territory, average 300 square kilometers; in the water, a shark can sense one drop of blood in a million drops of water; dogs smells each others anus at the first time they meet, they only shut down their tails to hide their odour when they are scared or dominated. Human, instead, are trying to conceal body odour as much as they can. Being smelly is seen as rude and insanitary. Shampoos ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Louis Pasteur Essay Many individuals have made astounding contributions to society in the past 200 years; however, some of these contributions were so powerful, they effectively changed the future of our world. Louis Pasteur, born December 27th, 1822, in the town of Dole, Eastern France, is one of the most noteworthy individuals to live during the last 200 years. Responsible for a myriad of accomplishments ranging from the debunking of the infamous spontaneous generation theory to the method named after him today, pasteurization, Mr. Pasteur is responsible for bestowing upon us some of the modern day conveniences we enjoy daily. To begin with, Pasteur can be credited with the discovery the existence of molecular asymmetry, which effectively created the field of science known as Stereochemistry. In the ten years following his discovery, Pasteur further investigated the ability of organic substances to rotate the plane of polarized light; with the information from his studies, he became convinced him that asymmetry was one of the fundamental characteristics of living matter, a vastly important contribution to the field of science in general. In addition to this, Stereochemistry allows us to know how a certain molecule will interact with an organism; anti nausea medications in the 1950 s that created devastating birth defects with flipper like appendages is just one example of the consequences of not following this man s research. In 1854, Pasteur was appointed professor of chemistry and dean of the science faculty at the University of Lille (Ullmann, Louis ). Whilst employed at Lille, he accepted a plea for studying solutions to problems associated to alcohol production at a local distillery, and with this catalyst, he began a series of studies on alcoholic fermentation. This being said, this complexity allows for many conflicts to arise, as well as differing opinions on solutions. Although humans are so evolved, some argue that animal instincts found in humans are still quite prevalent. In The Walking Dead, the virus being embedded in everyone s brain could be a reflection of humans inherent animalistic qualities. If we continue with this analogy, the virus could represent the potential that every human has to become a monster (in a figurative sense in reality, or a literal sense in the series). This furthers the idea that zombie narratives tend to mirror societies fears and anxieties over the condition of the world, or possible events that could occur, all while placing responsibility at the hands of humanity. The Subordinate Status Of Women The subordinate status of women in America began with the premise of English common law within Colonial America; these English social constructs within Colonial America were adopted into the American legal status, thus playing a vital role in intimate partner violence against women in America due to the implementation of the English doctrine that husbands are legally able to physically discipline their wives and children if deemed necessary (Garcia, 2010; Gelles, 1997). Among the many constructs of the English law, the separate women s sphere ideology, which designated a woman s place within her family as a private sphere (i.e. home and family), while a man protected and provided for her through the public sphere (i.e. work and politics) (Garcia, 2010). Evaluation can imply the criteria and standards that you can argue about to place value on a film. Thus, giving people a reason to question a film to develop reasons, make such standards are met and to understand the film. These standards can stem from the classical evaluation and pluralistic category method which has given viewers a blueprint of how you should properly evaluate a film. There are certain ways that you can go about judging a films effectiveness. For instance, the classical evaluation method imposes the use of cinematicity within three concepts that all films should have. Like medium specificity, cinematicity allows film to distinguish itself from theatre with the use of close ups, camera movement, etc.; thus, creates a universal structure for critics to judge a film. This is based on the creative style of the directorand how much the viewers admire the way the has stuck with its cinematicity. The price that other companies are charging for substitutes will also affect supply. If a substitute product has a low price, consumers are more likely to go with that product. Many times, companies are forced to lower their prices to compete with comparable products. The number of companies that enter the market changes the supply as well. More companies in the market mean more comparable products will be produced. Companies also look at future price expectations when deciding how much to supply. If economists predict that prices will increase in the future, it benefits the company to withhold some of the supply. Walt Disney Films does this with their VHS/DVD collections. They keep their movies in a vault and re release them every few years. Disney has created demand for their product due to the limited release and availability of their product.
