In this paper I argue that lawsuit filed against ChevronTexaco for dumping 18 billion gallons of
toxic wastewater, spilling roughly 17 millions gallons of crude oil, and leaving hazardous waste
in hundreds of open pits dug out of the forest floor have affected more than the ecosystem of the
Ecuadorian Amazon. ChevronTexaco has also completely threatened the Ecuadorian indigenous
people s way of life and was able to delegitimize their claim due to the global capitalist system and
lack of epistemic justice. However I also argue in this paper that the indigenous people s struggle
against ChevronTexaco is an exemplification of resistance to the global capitalist system and stands
in solidarity with the global justice movement. Indigenous peoples is a term especially used in the

Representing the middle class in media predates modern entertainment to Victorian times, when
music halls and novels entertained audiences with exaggerations of life. These early reflections

attempted to gain wealth or appear wealthy as feminine, therefore unworthy of wealth or royalty
(Banville, 2011, p. 18). They used stereotypes of lower class citizens to protect their way of life,
and perpetuate wealth disparity in England. Stereotypes sustained Victorian music halls and
novels to distinguish the wealthy from the poor, and they used these stereotypes to stifle a class
of people s quality of life. The same stereotypes are the basis for many jokes in present day
comedies such as Everybody Loves Raymond (Banville, 2011, p. 24).

Christmas at my Grandma s is always a day to remember. Everyone is laughing, opening present
