Essay on A Chilling Perspective in Truman Capote s In...
A Chilling Perspective in Capote s In Cold Blood
Truman Capote s In Cold Blood is the story of Perry and Dick and the night of November 15, 1959.
This investigative, fast paced and straightforward documentary provides a commentary on the
nature of American violence and examines the details of the motiveless murders of four members
of the Clutter family and the investigation that led to the capture, trial, and execution of the killers.
While reading Truman Capote s novel, In Cold Blood , I spent more than one night lying awake in
my bed, frightened by Capote s presentation of the facts surrounding the murder of an obscure
Kansas farmer and three of his family members. Several times, I caught myself wondering why this

This draws the reader closer to the men than they would, perhaps, like to be.
Capote talks about the lives of both killers previous to the murders in fairly significant detail. In the
case of Perry Smith, his parents divorced early in his childhood and neither his mother nor
father really wanted him. This produced feelings of abandonment and uselessness early on in
Perry and affected the rest of his life. Capote brings up a letter written to the Kansas State
Penitentiary about Perry by Perry s father, who was trying to have Perry paroled for a previous
crime he had committed. Perry says that this biography always set racing a series of emotions
self pity in the lead, love and hate evenly at first, the latter ultimately pulling ahead (130). Perry
didn t feel as though his father ever knew him very well, or even wanted to know him. He says,
whole sections of my Dad was ignorant of. Didn t understand an iota of...I had this great natural
musical ability. Which Dad didn t recognize. Or care about...I never got any encouragement from
him or anybody else (133). When Perry s father threw him out of the house one evening because
his father could no longer afford to have Perry live with him, Perry lost his sense of direction in
life. He even says

School Target Audience
Target Market:
The Target market that my partner and I are trying to get to donate would be college students,
teachers and people close or around the area of the school. We would want to target students
because they are younger and could help be influential later in making another blood drive happen.
They are also the first people that would be able to attend this event because it is happening at the
school. The second person we would like to target would be the teachers. We would want to target
the teachers because they would be good role models for other kids thinking of doing this kind act
but not participating. We would also want to target them because they attend the school the school
everyday and it would be easy to get them to participate just like the college students. We would

We would mainly advertise at the Universityof Charleston with flyers and emails. This would be
low cost and effective because the flyers would be put up everywhere and people would also see
it in their email. We would want to start advertising a month before the drive. We would mainly
market with flyers/ posters (as seen below), phone calls (to people outside of the university),
newspaper (ad/ press release), and email (sent out to university email). The total cost of this
event would be mainly buying the cookies and juice for after. This is because as students of the
University we are given cash to print out items and we would use that to print out the flyers.
This event is also sponsored by the University so the university would provide chairs for the event.
The volunteers we would be using would also be from the University doing work for free for
volunteer hours. Red cross will be providing any tables/ bags/ needles/ or medical equipment need.
The cost of juice and cookies will be around $50 to $100 depending on how many people show

Themes In Scott Westerfeld s Uglies And The Third And...
Imagine if an individual conquering his/her largest challenge presents one with an incredible
reward. Surprisingly, this idea is shared between three uncommon literature works. Within Scott
Westerfeld s Uglies, the main character, Tally Youngblood, triumphed through an exhausting and
tough journey to a place that leads her to learn about self worth. Furthermore, The Third and Final
Continent describes the narrator, Jhumpa Lahiri s, adventure of his life through three continents
and poor living conditions during that time resulting in Jhumpa Lahiri finally finding a value in life.
In Rudyard Kiplings poem, If , the audience witnesses if statements that express if someone
conquers the troubles in their life, the world will be theirs. Incredibly, among three unlike
compositions, a common theme, overcoming obstacles and being honored with a sentimental
reward, is conveyed through plot, cause and effect, and characterization. Between Ugliesand The
Third and Final Continent, the moral surpassing struggles and receive an award is displayed
through the literary device, plot. For justification, both storylines included developed characters, an
exposition, a descriptive setting, one or multiple conflicts, necessary rising and falling actions, an
intense climax, and a resolution. As evidence, Tally, from Uglies, defeated her rough trip to her
destination and enjoyed her freedom as she fell into the routines of the Smoke (Westerfeld 218).

John Steinbeck Accomplishments
John Emst Steinbeck was bom on Febmary 27, 1902, in Salinas,
Califomia. The time and place of his birth are important because
Steinbeck matured as an artist in his early thirties and during the darkest days of the Depression,
and his most important fictions are set in his beloved Salinas Valley. In one sense, Steinbeck s
location in time and place may have made him a particularly American artist. Bom just after the
closing of the frontier, Steinbeck grew up with a fmstrated modem
America and witnessed the most notable failure of the American
Dream with the Great Depression. He was a writer who inherited the great tradition of the American
Renaissance of the nineteenth century and who was forced to reshape it in terms of the historical
and literary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like his first divorce, this one was bitter and expensive. In the same year, his mentor,
Ed Ricketts, was killed in a car accident. Steinbeck traveled extensively, devofing himself to film
and nonfiction projects. In 1950, he married Elaine Scott, establishing a supportive relationship that
allowed him to finish his epic Salinas Valley novel East of Eden.
Steinbeck tried again and again to write his way back to the artistic success of his earlier years,
notably in The Wayward Bus, but his commercial success kept getting in the way. East of Eden,
his major postwar novel, was an attempt at another Califomia epic to match the grandeur of The
Grapes of Wrath. Although the book was a blockbuster best seller, it was an artistic and critical
failure. Steinbeck himself seemed to recognize his own decline, and in his last years he virtually
abandoned ficfion for joumalism.
Of his last novels, only The Winter of Our Discontent transcends mere entertainment, and it does
not have the literary stmcture necessary to support its serious themes. Despite the popularity of
Steinbeck s nonfiction, such as Travels with Charley, despite awards such as the Nobel Prize and
the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and despite

Essay about Global Health and Diabetes
Global health is defined as health problems, issues, or concerns that transcend national borders
(Institute of Medicine, 1997, p. 2). Koplan (2009) proposed a new definition for global health
which he described as an area for study, research and practice that places a priority on improving
health and achieving equity in healthfor all people worldwide (para, 7). Global health emphasizes
transnational health issues, determinants, and solutions from an interdisciplinary perspective and
blends population health and clinical care.
Global health means many things to many people. In the world view of this writer, global health
describes the study of the health needs of the global community and its effect on the world as a
collective. From ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

hopes to obtain an overseas appointment to work in Africa in chronic diseases. This writer
hopes to do work in Africa or other developing country until retirement, after which she hopes to
work as a medical missionary, teach at the university level, and write novels, devotionals, and
short stories. Presently, the global community struggles under a multitude of epidemics; however,
an area of concern for this writer is globalization and its effect on the prevention of Type 2
diabetes. Globalization is as a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies,
and governments of different nations which is driven by international trade and investment and
aided by information technology (The Lewin Institute, n.d.). Siegler and Vengat Narayan (2008)
propose that globalization facilitates the spread of risk factors of poor diet, physical inactivity,
and tobacco use which lead to four diseases (cardiovascular disease, some cancers, chronic
respiratory disease, and diabetes) which cause more than 50% of deaths worldwide ( p.2). (WHO,
2011). Diabetes and it complications causes major morbidity and mortality around the globe and is

Corruption In Canterbury Tales
A medieval miller was a worker that would grind grain at the mill to produce flour and meal. In
Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales, the Miller is a deceitful man that advances in her
career through deception and tells a fabliau, a comical fable told in verse that is characterized by
sexual obscenity. Fabliaux were generally told by jongleurs, or medieval entertainers. This
particular fabliau is a bawdy tale that discusses a scandalous affair. Through the Miller s description
as a thieving and scheming peasant and the Miller s raunchy tale, Chaucer criticizes the dangerous
precedent of corruption set by the nobilitywhich consequently spreads to all classes due to esteem
and success amassed by corruption and the stereotype of the Third Estate or lower class as lewd
and having a lack of intelligence.
Chaucer s description of the Miller as deceitful and thieving through his appearance and actions
criticizes the upper class tendency to underestimate the ability of the lower class. The upper class is
so consumed with maintaining their image of affluence and looking down on the lower class, they
fail to recognize that peasants can learn to imitate their habits of corruption that lead to immense
wealth. The Miller is depicted as a well built, muscular man who wears a whit cote and a blew hood
and has a red beard as any sowe or fox that would steal from his customers by selling his grain for
three times its worth, yit he hadde a thombe of gold (554,565 566). The Miller

Essay on The Back to the Future Trilogy
The Back to the future trilogy is by far my favorite of all time; especially the first one, that movie
alone is on my Mount Rushmore of movies. The trilogy is about a teenager who accidently travels
back in time prevents his parents from getting married which then prevents him from being born,
so now he has to figure out a way to get back to the futureand get his parents back together. The
entire trilogy is great; even thought it has its bad moments, but hey, what trilogy does not? The
series is a clever and fun string of movies that leaves you with a good feeling after watching them.
Now with that being said, when you make a movie about time travelthere are bound to be some
mistakes and Back to the future is no exception. I can go... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now with that easy one out the way, time for the real brain busting stuff. At the end out the
second movie and beginning of the third, Doc (Christopher Lloyd) gets struck by a bolt of
lighting while flying still in the air and gets sent back to 1855 while Marty is on the street and
sees this happen and is now stuck again in 1955. Right after that happens Marty gets a letter
from Doc stating specific intrusions on where he left the time machine hidden and how to fix it.
Shortly after Marty finds out that Doc was killed a week after he wrote the letter. Marty then
decides to travel back to 1855 and save Doc. In the process of going back to 1855 he cuts a gas line
so now the Delorean has no gas and Doc and Marty spend the rest of the third movie tiring to find
a way to get the Delorean up to 88mph to be able to travel back home. Here is where there is three
major plot holes.
The first one is if Marty and the younger Doc find out about older Docs death in 1955, wouldn t
the older doc already know about it? Yet in the third movie when Marty tells the older doc about
this in 1855 he seems shocked as if he didn t already know about this in 1955. Second, when
Marty travels back to 1855 he cuts a gas line on the landing and now is stuck without any gas for
the Delorean.
The problem here is what happened to the Delorean that doc hid in the

How to Add Value to the Hiring Process by Improving...
Annotation
This is a review of an article which discusses the different techniques of hiring the right, mainly in
this case, senior executives. This article aims to provide leaders with guidance on how to add
value to the hiring process by improving their recruiting diagnostics. The article focuses on a
concept which is referred to as fit and unpacks. This concept breaks down into sub categories which
are, fit with the job, fit with the leader, fit with the team, and fit with the organization. Instead of the
traditional approach of recruiting and assessing candidates based on the current needs of the
organization, this concept also addresses the current and emerging talent requirements. The article
also considers the types of questions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If leaders follow the techniques discussed in the article, they can avoid many expensive
consequences of hiring unfit candidates.
The article discusses three fronts on which being fit is composed of. One of the fronts is being
fit for the job. The list of candidates will of course be able to meet the technical demands of the
job as well as have the skills, experience, and be on the right career path but these are expected
credentials. The leader must be able to look past these credentials and focus on the depth of the
candidate s experience. A good way to do this would be to focus on the extent to which they have
demonstrated the qualities they talk about in their past work activities. Focusing on just what the
candidate says they have done and the qualities they have can distract a leader from what is really
important such as the quality and performance of their previous work.
Another topic discussed which I agree with is whether the candidate is entrepreneurial or is more
comfortable improving something which already exist. The leader must decide what they are
looking for. If I am looking for someone to come in a break up the current system then someone
with more entrepreneurial traits would be the right candidate. If I was looking for someone who
could improve the current system, then I would look for the candidate who has past experience
doing so.
The article refers to asking

Knowledge and Technology in A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s Court
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s Court is a complicated novel that fundamentally deals with
the concept of the human experience. Hank Morgan is a nineteenth century mechanic who is
transported back thirteen centuries to medieval Britain, during the time of King Arthur. After his
initial shock, he becomes determined to civilize Camelot by introducing modern industrial
technology. At an initial look Twain seems to be favoring the industrialized capitalist society that
he lives in over the feudal society of medieval Britain. But in a closer examination of the work it
becomes clear that this observation is much too simple, as the industrial world that Hank Morgan ...

(Twain 40). Hank forgets his own humanity and begins to believe that his knowledge makes him
more of a man, just as the nobility that he shunned believed they were better than the serfs because
of the titles they held.
Hank Morgan uses his superior knowledge of technology to gain personal power. It soon becomes
clear that even though thirteen hundred years have given Hank a technological advantage, they
haven t made him any smarter. Twain himself says of Hank,
...this Yankee of mine has neither the refinement nor the weakness of a college education; he is a
perfect ignoramus; he is boss of a machine shop; he can build a locomotive or a Colt s revolver, he
can put up and run a telegraph line, but he s an ignoramus, nevertheless. (Guttmann 103)
Hank possesses all of this technological knowledge, but fails to understand the implications that
this knowledge will have on the people of the Camelot. Instead of educating the general public and
teaching them how and why something works instead he sends a select few to his man factories .
He uses his knowledge instead to produce fantastic miracles, which although they give him
personal power, continue to perpetuate the superstitions of the populace that he is trying to
overcome. For example, Hank is asked to fix the well at the Valley of Holiness. He installs a pump
that will return the water,

The Constellation Explosion In Greek Mythology

The Constellation Orion
Many of the constellations in the night sky are based on characters in Greek
mythology. Orion is a constellation and he has an interesting story in Greek mythology.
There are numerous versions of the myth of Orion, but one of the more common
stories is that Orion claimed to be the greatest hunter in the world, much to the dismay
of Hera, the wife of Zeus. She had a scorpion kill him, so Zeus put Orion in the sky as a
constellation to honor his fallen son. The scorpion also has a constellation, but cannot
be seen at the same time in the night sky (Zimmerman).

Application Of A Desktop Study
Desktop Study
A desktop study, as its name implies, can be done entirely from a computer and is often the first
step in preliminary site investigations. The process of a desktop study involves correlating
background information about the site that will affect the design and construction; from a desk
study a large amount of relevant information can be gathered, such as: local context (i.e. what is
near to the site, the aesthetic of the surrounding buildings); archaeology (beneath the surface of a
site there may be unexploded bombs, remnants of old structures etc.); easements (the rights attached
to neighbouring lands, for example right to light); the likelihood of contaminated soil (which we
know we do have on our site); site ecology (the surrounding environment and how it coexists
together). Having this knowledge of the site before any work has begun allows for easier planning
later as obstacles that could have been a costly surprise later can be solved with much better
efficiency.
The process of a desktop study could also involve looking at OS (ordnance survey) maps of the site
which can reveal the previous usage of the site as well as drainage and much more. Geological
maps can show what the ground conditions are like on site and if there is any risk of, for
example, subsidence occurring or if it already has. Service maps can be inspected to find hidden
services, for example telephone cables or drainage. The findings of previous surveys, if they exist,
can also be found

My Breaching Social Norm Experiment
For my breaching social norm experiment, I was determined to do something I would never do
even if it was a dare, especially since my ability to interact with strangers is not what I consider
advanced. So, I decided to make people feel uncomfortable by holding their hand. What I would
do is walk up to the person from behind and slowly make my way to their handto make them feel
even more uncomfortable. People normally hold hands with their significant other, or with
someone they know, like a friend or family member, so to be holding hands with a stranger is
infrequent and abnormal. In preparation for starting our experiment, it took my confidant,
Carla, and I about an hour to finally initiate the first move. Before even holding hands with
strangers my mind was swirling with multiple questions and thoughts, like Why am I even doing
this? , I don t appreciate making people feel uncomfortable. , Why is Mrs.Henry torturing me! ,
Can I just not do it? , and so on. In addition to my thoughts and questions, I felt myself sweating
and my stomach felt as if it was in a twisted knot. While I approached my first victim I felt the
temperature of my body raise up to boiling point and the color of my skin turn from snow white
to lava red in a split second. To make things worse, once I held onto the lady s hand, she was

The Same Rights As American Citizens
2.The same rights as American citizens. It is unfair to arrest millions of undocumented immigrants.
Conservatives only support legal immigration and oppose amnesty for those who enter the U.S.
illegally (illegal immigrants). Those who break the law by entering the U.S. illegally do not have
the same rights as those who obey the law and enter legally. The borders should be secured before
addressing the problem of the illegal immigrants currently in our country. The Federal Government
should enforce current immigration law to ensure not only our safety, but the illegal activity taking
place in our country today. There are other good alternatives to welfare. Private charities can
successfully serve the poor. Arnold Kling quotes, Those organizations that work directly with
poor people stand a better chance of learning how to meet their needs (Bily, 2009, p 71). He
believes charitable organizations are more flexible, accountable, and efficient. The poor would be
better served by a new tax policy directing more money to private charities and less to the federal
and state government. The role of charitable organizations is better than the government as a source
of aid. It is easier for donors or volunteers to hold charitable organizations accountable than it is for
taxpayers to hold government accountable. Failed government programs can go on forever, but an
unsuccessful charity has a more difficult time obtaining adequate funding. In 2005,

The valuation process, in this case, requires us to estimate the short run non constant growth rate
and predict future dividends. Then, we must estimate a constant long term growth rate at which the
firm is expected to grow. Generally, we assume that after a certain point of time, all firms begin to
grow at a rather constant rate. Of course, the difficulty in this framework is estimating the short

A measure of financial performance calculated as operating cash flow minus capital expenditures.
Free cash flow (FCF) represents the cash that a company is able to generate after laying out the

Essay On Counterculture
Prior to the countercultural revolution of the 1960 s, the legal experimentation of psychedelic
drugs were widely researched for the treatment of alcoholism and various mental disorders. The
term psychedelic means mind manifesting or altering and was given to hallucinogens like
marijuana, LSD, MDMA, and psilocybin in 1956 by psychiatrist Humphrey Osmond (Taylor 1).
The studies grew rapidly but medical progress was quickly halted because of the legal ramifications
in response to the hippie culture and escalated pressure of other governments. People strongly
object to such experimentation with little practical application and questionable ethics thus fueling
the controversy in regards to the continuation of the psychedelic research. Although... Show more

The counterculture was a subculture founded by a group of rebellious youth and antiwar activists
that opposed the views of the mainstream society and protested the Vietnam war. During this
period, LSD and other drugs of this kind, were viewed as drugs of abuse, becoming highly
associated with student riots, anti war demonstrations and the counterculture . There were reported
suicides, loss of sanity and claims that the usage caused discomfort and confusion, instead of peace
and enlightenment. The problem soon drew political interest. Skeptical of the scientific medical
benefits, the government began to enforce stricter policies regarding research practices. Regardless
of the promising developments, the government dictated that there was not sufficient evidence or
rationality to the studies. Science demands repeatability, proof and rationality (Alyushin 589).
Requiring studies to provide the formal demands of common experiments, these were standards
that the studies could not yet satisfy. The reports could not entirely be categorized and lacked
control groups. There was no physical evidence and results were limited to many of the subjects
first hand experiences and negative finding were not included in final analyses. Due to these
circumstances, conservative government policies then suppressed and restricted psychedelic
research by making the substances illegal in 1968 (Dyck

Essay about The NRA Killed Gun Control Legislation
The NRA Killed Gun Control Legislation
By the year 2003, it is expected that firearms will cause the most injury related deaths in the United
States, surpassing even automobile accidents. Poll after poll have revealed that most Americans
favor stricter gun control laws. Five recent suburban school shootings have demonstrated that when
guns and kids mix, tragedy results. Yet guncontrol legislation remains at a standstill.
The battle for stricter gun control laws has not been without victories. In 1968, Congress passed the
Gun Control Act in the wake of the assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr., President John F.
Kennedy, and Senator Robert Kennedy. The law mandated stricter licensing requirements,

In April 1995 Pamela George, an Ojibway women, was brutally murdered in Saskatchewan. Her
murderers Steven Kummerfield and Alex Ternowetsky, young middle class white men, were
convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to merely six and a half years in prison. George s
story is one of the many Indigenous women who have been murdered or missing over the past

Drastically, statistics indicate that Aboriginals are faced with more hardships throughout their life
compared to the average Canadian. Indigenous groups, particularly women, suffer from a lower
rate of education, higher suicide rates and an array of health risks. This paper will examine the role
settler colonization history has played in perpetuating conditions for violenceto indigenous women,
many of which are still experienced today. This will be accomplished by first assessing the history
of settler colonization and its negative repercussions. Secondly, it will use Sherene Razak s concept
of spatial segregation, to illustrate how state institutions have facilitated violence through space,
race and the law. Lastly, this paper will use evidence from the film Finding Dawn to further
demonstrate how violence towards indigenous women is institutionally produced.

people were able to produce monumental works such as ziggurats or pyramids. The agriculture
based society enabled people to have reliable sustenance, giving them energy that fueled their

larger, which allowed them to build larger structures. Also, as societies grew, leaders came to

In order to communicate with the unseen powers, people needed a ceremonial space, so they could

dead elites and kings taking a journey towards the Land of the West, or eternal life. Therefore,
people had to make monumental structures so they could get closer to the sky, or the heaven. Also,
from the size of their structures, they could also express their admiration and respect to the higher

monumental structures, even though doing so put their lives at risk.

The Trade Of Counterfeit Products Essay
Abstract:
India is a one of the key markets of counterfeit products in South Asia which has negatively affected
its economy since many years. The trade of counterfeit and pirated products hamper the
development of knowledge and innovation as it can greatly reduce the economic benefits for the
original creator of products. Widespread and rampant piracy and weak intellectual property rights
(IPR) dilutes the development of local industry and also endangers the huge investments made in
research and development work of organizations. This can lead to loss of competitive advantage as
the competitiveness of firms is driven by the firm s ability to innovate and create new products
churned from its knowledge capital. Counterfeiting and piracy can exist in the market from within
or due to imports from a foreign market but flourishing or controlling of it can be understood
majorly by understanding the attitude of Indian consumers towards purchase of counterfeit and
pirated products. The studies so far particularly considering IPR infringements have been skewed
towards Pharmaceuticals, Entertainment and Information Technology. This paper attempts to
investigate and understand the Indian consumers awareness of IPR infringements and their
attitudes and intention towards purchase of Home Appliances based on psychographic and
demographic factors.

Susan Griffin s Our Secret , the concealing of the truth become a major theme in the advancement

to conceal his secret. Heinz knew that he would be killed if anyone found out about his lifestyle,
and told no one about his secret besides his mother. However, the Nazis eventually discovered a

individuals being forced to conceal their lifestyles is, in a way, forcing them to conceal who they
truly are. Keeping secrets from others, in a way, means that they have not fully come to terms with
who they are. Griffin also uses examples from her own family to expand upon the title s meaning.
Griffin claims her family was constantly pretending to be happy, perfect or aristocratic. In family

Vietnam And Its Effects On The United States
Vietnam was originally a French colony located in Indochina. After the end of the First Indochina
War when the French were defeated by the Vietnamese in 1954, the French persisted to obtain their
freedom. They sought to obtain it by signing the Geneva Peace Accords, granting freedom to most
of the colonies but left Vietnamdivided at the seventeenth parallel into two different states. The
northern portion was controlled by the Vietnamese, while the south was controlled by France, later
on by the United States. The Viet Minh, governed by Ho Chi Minh, however were determined to
rule over all the territory surrounding its borders so elections were scheduled hopefully to reunite
the country under a strict Communist government. The Communists had a good probability of
winning the elections due to their superiority in organizations, but the United States did as much as
possible to keep Communism out of the South and other regions prone to falling into it. As the new
Superpowers emerged after the end of World War II, the challenge of maintaining authority over
targeted territory remained, but it was completely challenged by getting involved in the Vietnam
War. The Vietnam War, being one of the longest wars recorded in American History, was also
marked as the first War that made the United States fail with their plans of eradicating Communism
to secure land that could be run by an independent government. Additionally, this war was broadcast

Chinese culture have a greater influence in Singapore. Mandarin is generally propagated through

newspaper that circulates in Singapore, which mainly publishes China news, Chinese culture as
well as Chinese literature, make the Chinese culture into people s daily life (Anonymous, 2010).
Last but not least, it is actually families which pass on the culture and live with it as the most

A Review On The Minds Of Ceo
Straight from the CEO
A Review of the Literature The minds of CEO s are, in aggregate, a tremendous center of power in
society. Upon these minds how they tick, how they prioritize, how they view the vectors of change
depends on the transmission of know how, technology, capital, and jobs. In addition, as
globalization increases, the socioeconomic impact of their thoughts becomes all the greater .
This provides a broad cross sample of the global CEO population. Insightful interviews have been
collected, which contain lessons from both the brawny companies that have been forced to reinvent
themselves, as well as from some of the brainy upstarts that needed to be rather unconventional to
gain access to the global playing field. CEO s of top world corporations tell how they handle
globalization, customer service, motivation, leadership and other management issues.

demand involvement and interaction from upper management, no longer do the babyboomers see
fit to have P and L figures discussed between upper management only. In order to be a successful

The Pros And Cons Of Neuro-Organial Intelligence
In[1], The techniques of artificial intelligence based on fuzzy logic and neural networks are
applied together. The reasons to combine these two paradigms are because of the difficulties and
inherent limitations of each isolated paradigm. They are called Neuro Fuzzy Systems. This is often
used to assign a specific type of system that integrates both of these techniques. This is
characterized by a fuzzy system where fuzzy sets and rules are adjusted using input output patterns.
There are many different implementations, where each author defined its own model. There is a
general vision of the area describing the most hybrid neuro fuzzytechniques, its pros and cons.
In[2],The best way for increasing the system capacity of a wireless link by getting the receiver and

typically in the form of microcells, hotspots, distributed antennas, or relays . A less expensive

Aryan Paragraph
Introduction The German population were active participants in the persecution and eventual
execution of the Jewish people during the Holocaust. The government did this by slowly creating
the enemy, controlling the enemy, separating the enemy and then initiating what is now known as
the final solution. Paragraph 1: Creating the Enemy Following the Nazi Seizure of Power in 1933,
Hitler built up a Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda headed by Joseph
Goebbels. The Ministry s point was to guarantee that the Nazi message was effectively imparted
through workmanship, music, theatre, films, books, radio, instructive materials, and the press. The
primary flood of enactment, from 1933 to 1934, concentrated to a great extent on restricting... Show

The laws barred German Jews from Reich citizenship and restricted them from wedding or
having sexual relations with people of German or related blood. Ancillary statutes to the laws
disappointed Jews and denied them of most political rights. The Nuremberg Laws, as they
wound up known, did not characterize a Jew as somebody with specific religious convictions.
Rather, any individual who had three or four Jewish grandparents was characterized as a Jew,
paying little mind to whether that individual distinguished himself or herself as a Jew or had a
place with the Jewish religious group. Numerous Germans who had not practised Judaism for
quite a long time got themselves captured in the grasp of Nazi hatred. Indeed, even individuals
with Jewish grandparents who had changed over to Christianity were characterized as Jews. The
motivation behind the Nuremberg Laws was to totally isolate the Jewish populace by never again
thinking about them as a religious gathering however as a race, they did this by putting facial
highlights to the race . This implied the isolation and control of the Jewish populace would be
considerably simpler to complete and execute. Ordinary residents, energized to some degree by
Goebbels hostile to Semitic purposeful publicity, bolstered the Nuremberg Laws and partook in

Identity In Shakespeare s Hamlet And Henry V
At first glance, the Shakespearean plays Hamlet and Henry V are not similar. This is because they
truly are not similar not in genre, since Hamlet is a tragedy and Henry V is a historical play; not in
plot, since the protagonist in Hamlet hides in the shadows of conflict while the protagonist of
Henry V charges head first into it; and certainly not in tone, where Hamletis disastrous and Henry V
is triumphant. It is these dissimilarities of context that make Henry and Hamlet s similarities in
identity all the more interesting. Both Shakespearean protagonists are faced with extreme
circumstances, and in such extreme circumstances, they both resort to the same human
response: they question. In both plays and both characters, Shakespeare seems to explore the
depth of such questions as they pertain to human identity and as they pertain to each character s
sense of control, thus seeming to pose a question himself: what does it mean to control one s
identity? To examine Shakespeare s exploration of identity as a means of control, it is important
to understand what all constitutes each character s identity. In the case of Henry, for one, it is
apparent that the actions of his past alter his perceived identity throughout the play. Before
Henry speaks his first lines in the play, the Bishop of Ely calls Henry a true lover of the holy
Church, to which the Archbishop of Canterbury replies, The courses of [Henry s] youth
promised it not (1.1.23 24). This reckless reputation follows Henry further into the play when an
ambassador from France delivers a message to Henry from the Dauphin: ...the prince our master
says that you savor too much of your youth and bids you to be advised there s naught in France
that can be with a nimble galliard won: you cannot revel into dukedoms there (1.2.250 254). Along
with this message, the Dauphin included a gift of tennis balls meant to further insult Henry. Even
later in the play, after the English won the battle at Harfleur, the noble Frenchmen continue to
underestimate Henry s ability as a leader: What a wretched and peevish fellow is this King of
England, to mope with his fat brained followers so far out of his knowledge (3.8.120 122). What
these instances show is that the

The s Theory Of The Tripartite Soul And Sigmund Freud s...
Moral Compass
Navigation helps individuals arrive to a given destination, but the human life also requires of such
navigation. Some individuals unconsciously seek directions when challenged with a given issue
and know which way to steer because of their moral compass. Furthermore, the moral compass is
the soul that guides the personal self, but it is also the non material aspect of a human being that is
immortal. Although, the soul s existence is in question, there is evidence that validates that the soul
is real. Such evidence includes Plato s theory of the tripartite soul and Sigmund Freud s
psychodynamic theory, which reevaluates Plato s theory. Both theories address that the soul s
existence is the personality of a human being.
On the other hand, many critics claim that the soul does not exist since it is beyond our knowledge;
therefore we cannot demonstrate such existence. Hume a philosopher during the Enlightenment
affirms this claim under the branch of empiricism, which states that true knowledge, arises from our
five senses: touch, smell, sight, taste, and hearing. Therefore, to determine if something exists at
least one or all of the senses have to be applied since the material aspects of something
demonstrates its existence. Moreover, the reasoning behind empiricism is an addition to Hume s
theory of sense perception. The theory is composed of two elements, which are impressions and
ideas. Impressions are immediate sensations or perceptions such as touch or

The Information System Of An Electronic Records Management...
The term Electronic Records Management (ERM) System refers to a technological program or
group of programs that are created with the intention of tracking and maintaining records on a
computer. The software can be utilized in a way to achieve the construction and conservation of
archives within cataloging arrangements, apply retaining and disposing timetables, and govern
how it is accessed and used. An ERM system should possess the capability to retain records made
by the applications and systems of the company. An ERM system should be able to maintain
records, as well as all metadata, and sort it within a specific method of classification. Records kept

Due to the rising popularity of Electronic Records Management systems, the goal of a paperless
office continues to get closer. ERM has the ability to utilize scanners to make digital copies of
every document. These documents are then coded and attached to specific files or accounts and
optical character reading (OCR), systems are used to provide insight into the contents of each page.
From the time it enters the organization; the digital version of the document is stored and filed for
future use.
ERM allows a document to become accessible from any computer by an authorized employee from
the moment the document is scanned. This is much easier than having an employee access a
traditional paper file, which has to be kept in a filing cabinet or area and then will have to be
requested, retrieved and delivered before the employee can view it. ERM also allows multiple
people to look at a file at the same time, as opposed to having to wait your turn because your
coworker is already using the file that you need.
Not only does ERM allow for the replication of digital versions of documents, a database is
created which allows employees to search for a document at the click of a button. So, if a
company needs to find all records that reference a particular customer, they could simply search the
database for the client s name, and all files will pop up almost instantly.

The Importance Of Divorce In Arizona
The law is riddled with perplexities and seemingly complicated ideas worded in ways that seem
purposefully difficult to understand. But when it comes to divorce in Arizona there are a few
divorce statutes that you don t need to worry about the ones that talk about grounds for divorce in
Arizona. Why is that?
Every state set its own divorce laws and divorce statutes. For instance, in Arizona, you can file for
divorce as long as one spouse has lived in Arizona for a minimum of 90 days. Additionally, Arizona
is what is called a no fault state. That means that either spouse can assert the marriage to be
irretrievably broken without either one of them being required to provide a reason for the divorce.
In other states, one spouse must request

What Is The Divide Between The Paleolithic Period And The...
The divide between the Paleolithic period and the Neolithic period could not be greater. However,
both time periods rely on each others advancements for the ultimate development of art, and
architecture. The Paleolithic time period is divided into three sections, lower, middle and upper.
This time period is essentially the beginning of human control over the environment. Humans were
now beginning to leave their mark, so to speak. During this time period, humans relied on hunting,
fishing, and farming for their survival, they began drawing in caves at this time. Cave art was the
ancient version of murals. The art depicted what the ancient culture valued most, life. During this
time period, creation was important and essential. Artists depicted everyday life and animals
because that is what they depended on for their livelihood.
Two Bison, sculpted from clay and found in a cave in Le Tuc d Audoubert, France ca 15,000
10,000 BCE (Gardner and Kleiner, 2014). Sculpted from the walls of the interior of the cave is two
bison who stand in darkness, alone in a cave, waiting to be discovered for thousands of years. The
details of the Two Bison is sharp and clearly depicted, the Two Bison is just one of many examples
of Paleolithic Art that remains today. Some pieces found in caves where they waited for
thousands of years to be discovered and appreciated all over again. The Paleolithic time period was
also known as the old stone age (Gardner and Kleiner, 2014). This period of time

Racial Segregation In Major League Baseball
Introduction
Back in the day, American baseball excluded players of African American descent from Major
League Baseball and also in its lower Minor Leagues up until 1947. Racial segregation in
professional baseball was called a gentleman s agreement an arrangement or understanding which is
based upon the trust of both or all parties, rather than being legally binding because there was no
written agreement even at the highest level of organized baseball, the major leagues. But there was
a vote in the minor league in 1887 that was against allowing new contracts with African American
players within its league which sent a powerful strike that eventually led to the disappearance of
African Americans from the sport s other minor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Design Philosophy Of Antoni Rovira I Trias
The Sant Antoni Market is one of the most popular and architecturally brilliant markets in
Barcelona. Originally designed by Antoni Rovira i Trias, an architect and urban planner who
publically favored the destruction of walls in Barcelona and supported free growth in the city.
Trias was a very outspoken architect and called for a change in the way Barcelonashould be
urbanized and he actually won the competition, in 1859, for the design of the expansion of the
city. However, the central Spanish government in Madrid favored Cerda s plan instead.
Nevertheless, Trias continued with his work as an architect and he designed the markets of La
Concepcio in 1885, the Born in 1873, and most importantly for this research paper, the San Antoni
market completed in 1882. Throughout this research paper, I will be analyzing the design
philosophy of Rovira i Trias in his works particularly the Sant Antoni market and how it... Show

necessities such as food, drink, clothes, and other appliances and entertainment like they had in
the market. The locals were the major users of the market at first because it was right in the
middle of everything so it was easy to get to and it had everything they needed. They would either
use the market or go by the market every day and the sidewalks would be packed with people.
Eventually, the market began seeing some international interest. When people from other countries
would travel to Barcelona they would either stay in the Sant Antoni neighborhood or at least go and
visit the Sant Antoni market because it was such a popular

Comparison Of King Lear And Gloucester Essay
Shakespeare uses subplots to dramatize the action of the play and give spark on the contrast for the
themes in King Lear. Sub plots usually improve the effect of dramatic irony and suspense. The
latter, which is used in King Lear, gives us the understanding of the emotions of the characters in
the play. This follows the parallelism between Gloucesterand King Lear.
In King Lear, the subplot of Gloucester corresponds to the major plot of King Lear. Both fathers
have their own loyal legitimate child and their evil and disloyal child. They are both honourable
men, who have children that return to them in their time of need. Gloucester and Lear are both
tormented, and their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gloucester s death in the subplot is a parallel to that of King Lear s in the main plot. Though
Gloucester does not have the tragic catastrophic death of King Lear. King Lear s anguish led him
to insanity while Gloucester is led to despair and attempts suicide. Before Gloucester s attempt at
suicide, he realizes that he has wronged Edgar and condemns his blindness of Edmund s plans.
My father, poorly led? World, world, O world! But that thy strange mutations make us hate thee,
Life would not yield to age. (Act 4 Scene 1 Pg. 207 lines 10 12) This parallels Lear s death as he
also condemns his daughter Cordelia. I have seen the day, with my good biting falchion I would
have made em skip. I am old now, And these same crosses spoil me. Who are you? Mine eyes are
not o the best, I ll tell you straight. (Act 5 Scene 3 pg. 317 lines 276 279) Both deaths run on the
same train tracks, as King Lear and Gloucester die as better and wiser men than they showed
themselves at first.
Throughout the play, Shakespeare uses the contrast through other characters such as Cordelia and
Edgar, who hides in the beginning and then later reveal themselves to conquer and defeat evil
forces. Subplots do make the play better all around and make the audience want to know more and
enjoy it. Lear and Gloucester even are totally different people but live in a parallel world, they are

  • 2. Essay on A Chilling Perspective in Truman Capote s In... A Chilling Perspective in Capote s In Cold Blood Truman Capote s In Cold Blood is the story of Perry and Dick and the night of November 15, 1959. This investigative, fast paced and straightforward documentary provides a commentary on the nature of American violence and examines the details of the motiveless murders of four members of the Clutter family and the investigation that led to the capture, trial, and execution of the killers. While reading Truman Capote s novel, In Cold Blood , I spent more than one night lying awake in my bed, frightened by Capote s presentation of the facts surrounding the murder of an obscure Kansas farmer and three of his family members. Several times, I caught myself wondering why this book ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This draws the reader closer to the men than they would, perhaps, like to be. Capote talks about the lives of both killers previous to the murders in fairly significant detail. In the case of Perry Smith, his parents divorced early in his childhood and neither his mother nor father really wanted him. This produced feelings of abandonment and uselessness early on in Perry and affected the rest of his life. Capote brings up a letter written to the Kansas State Penitentiary about Perry by Perry s father, who was trying to have Perry paroled for a previous crime he had committed. Perry says that this biography always set racing a series of emotions self pity in the lead, love and hate evenly at first, the latter ultimately pulling ahead (130). Perry didn t feel as though his father ever knew him very well, or even wanted to know him. He says, whole sections of my Dad was ignorant of. Didn t understand an iota of...I had this great natural musical ability. Which Dad didn t recognize. Or care about...I never got any encouragement from him or anybody else (133). When Perry s father threw him out of the house one evening because his father could no longer afford to have Perry live with him, Perry lost his sense of direction in life. He even says ... We would want to target students because they are younger and could help be influential later in making another blood drive happen. They are also the first people that would be able to attend this event because it is happening at the school. The second person we would like to target would be the teachers. We would want to target the teachers because they would be good role models for other kids thinking of doing this kind act but not participating. • 4. Themes In Scott Westerfeld s Uglies And The Third And... Imagine if an individual conquering his/her largest challenge presents one with an incredible reward. Surprisingly, this idea is shared between three uncommon literature works. Within Scott Westerfeld s Uglies, the main character, Tally Youngblood, triumphed through an exhausting and tough journey to a place that leads her to learn about self worth. Furthermore, The Third and Final Continent describes the narrator, Jhumpa Lahiri s, adventure of his life through three continents and poor living conditions during that time resulting in Jhumpa Lahiri finally finding a value in life. In Rudyard Kiplings poem, If , the audience witnesses if statements that express if someone conquers the troubles in their life, the world will be theirs. Incredibly, among three unlike compositions, a common theme, overcoming obstacles and being honored with a sentimental reward, is conveyed through plot, cause and effect, and characterization. Between Ugliesand The Third and Final Continent, the moral surpassing struggles and receive an award is displayed through the literary device, plot. For justification, both storylines included developed characters, an exposition, a descriptive setting, one or multiple conflicts, necessary rising and falling actions, an intense climax, and a resolution. As evidence, Tally, from Uglies, defeated her rough trip to her destination and enjoyed her freedom as she fell into the routines of the Smoke (Westerfeld 218). The time and place of his birth are important because Steinbeck matured as an artist in his early thirties and during the darkest days of the Depression, and his most important fictions are set in his beloved Salinas Valley. In one sense, Steinbeck s location in time and place may have made him a particularly American artist. Bom just after the closing of the frontier, Steinbeck grew up with a fmstrated modem America and witnessed the most notable failure of the American Dream with the Great Depression. He was a writer who inherited the great tradition of the American Renaissance of the nineteenth century and who was forced to reshape it in terms of the historical and literary ... Steinbeck traveled extensively, devofing himself to film and nonfiction projects. In 1950, he married Elaine Scott, establishing a supportive relationship that allowed him to finish his epic Salinas Valley novel East of Eden. Steinbeck tried again and again to write his way back to the artistic success of his earlier years, notably in The Wayward Bus, but his commercial success kept getting in the way. East of Eden, his major postwar novel, was an attempt at another Califomia epic to match the grandeur of The Grapes of Wrath. Although the book was a blockbuster best seller, it was an artistic and critical failure. Steinbeck himself seemed to recognize his own decline, and in his last years he virtually abandoned ficfion for joumalism. Of his last novels, only The Winter of Our Discontent transcends mere entertainment, and it does not have the literary stmcture necessary to support its serious themes. Despite the popularity of Steinbeck s nonfiction, such as Travels with Charley, despite awards such as the Nobel Prize and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and despite ... Koplan (2009) proposed a new definition for global health which he described as an area for study, research and practice that places a priority on improving health and achieving equity in healthfor all people worldwide (para, 7). Global health emphasizes transnational health issues, determinants, and solutions from an interdisciplinary perspective and blends population health and clinical care. • 7. Corruption In Canterbury Tales A medieval miller was a worker that would grind grain at the mill to produce flour and meal. In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales, the Miller is a deceitful man that advances in her career through deception and tells a fabliau, a comical fable told in verse that is characterized by sexual obscenity. Fabliaux were generally told by jongleurs, or medieval entertainers. This particular fabliau is a bawdy tale that discusses a scandalous affair. Through the Miller s description as a thieving and scheming peasant and the Miller s raunchy tale, Chaucer criticizes the dangerous precedent of corruption set by the nobilitywhich consequently spreads to all classes due to esteem and success amassed by corruption and the stereotype of the Third Estate or lower class as lewd and having a lack of intelligence. Chaucer s description of the Miller as deceitful and thieving through his appearance and actions criticizes the upper class tendency to underestimate the ability of the lower class. The upper class is so consumed with maintaining their image of affluence and looking down on the lower class, they fail to recognize that peasants can learn to imitate their habits of corruption that lead to immense wealth. The Miller is depicted as a well built, muscular man who wears a whit cote and a blew hood and has a red beard as any sowe or fox that would steal from his customers by selling his grain for three times its worth, yit he hadde a thombe of gold (554,565 566). The trilogy is about a teenager who accidently travels back in time prevents his parents from getting married which then prevents him from being born, so now he has to figure out a way to get back to the futureand get his parents back together. The entire trilogy is great; even thought it has its bad moments, but hey, what trilogy does not? Now with that easy one out the way, time for the real brain busting stuff. At the end out the second movie and beginning of the third, Doc (Christopher Lloyd) gets struck by a bolt of lighting while flying still in the air and gets sent back to 1855 while Marty is on the street and sees this happen and is now stuck again in 1955. Right after that happens Marty gets a letter from Doc stating specific intrusions on where he left the time machine hidden and how to fix it. Shortly after Marty finds out that Doc was killed a week after he wrote the letter. Marty then decides to travel back to 1855 and save Doc. In the process of going back to 1855 he cuts a gas line so now the Delorean has no gas and Doc and Marty spend the rest of the third movie tiring to find a way to get the Delorean up to 88mph to be able to travel back home. Here is where there is three major plot holes. The first one is if Marty and the younger Doc find out about older Docs death in 1955, wouldn t the older doc already know about it? Yet in the third movie when Marty tells the older doc about this in 1855 he seems shocked as if he didn t already know about this in 1955. Annotation This is a review of an article which discusses the different techniques of hiring the right, mainly in this case, senior executives. This article aims to provide leaders with guidance on how to add value to the hiring process by improving their recruiting diagnostics. The article focuses on a concept which is referred to as fit and unpacks. This concept breaks down into sub categories which are, fit with the job, fit with the leader, fit with the team, and fit with the organization. Instead of the traditional approach of recruiting and assessing candidates based on the current needs of the organization, this concept also addresses the current and emerging talent requirements. The article also considers the types of questions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If leaders follow the techniques discussed in the article, they can avoid many expensive consequences of hiring unfit candidates. The article discusses three fronts on which being fit is composed of. One of the fronts is being fit for the job. The list of candidates will of course be able to meet the technical demands of the job as well as have the skills, experience, and be on the right career path but these are expected credentials. The leader must be able to look past these credentials and focus on the depth of the candidate s experience. A good way to do this would be to focus on the extent to which they have demonstrated the qualities they talk about in their past work activities. Focusing on just what the candidate says they have done and the qualities they have can distract a leader from what is really important such as the quality and performance of their previous work. Another topic discussed which I agree with is whether the candidate is entrepreneurial or is more comfortable improving something which already exist. The leader must decide what they are looking for. If I am looking for someone to come in a break up the current system then someone with more entrepreneurial traits would be the right candidate. If I was looking for someone who could improve the current system, then I would look for the candidate who has past experience doing so. The article refers to asking ... Knowledge and Technology in A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s Court A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s Court is a complicated novel that fundamentally deals with the concept of the human experience. Hank Morgan is a nineteenth century mechanic who is transported back thirteen centuries to medieval Britain, during the time of King Arthur. After his initial shock, he becomes determined to civilize Camelot by introducing modern industrial technology. At an initial look Twain seems to be favoring the industrialized capitalist society that he lives in over the feudal society of medieval Britain. Hank forgets his own humanity and begins to believe that his knowledge makes him more of a man, just as the nobility that he shunned believed they were better than the serfs because of the titles they held. Hank Morgan uses his superior knowledge of technology to gain personal power. It soon becomes clear that even though thirteen hundred years have given Hank a technological advantage, they haven t made him any smarter. Twain himself says of Hank, ...this Yankee of mine has neither the refinement nor the weakness of a college education; he is a perfect ignoramus; he is boss of a machine shop; he can build a locomotive or a Colt s revolver, he can put up and run a telegraph line, but he s an ignoramus, nevertheless. (Guttmann 103) Hank possesses all of this technological knowledge, but fails to understand the implications that this knowledge will have on the people of the Camelot. Instead of educating the general public and teaching them how and why something works instead he sends a select few to his man factories . He uses his knowledge instead to produce fantastic miracles, which although they give him personal power, continue to perpetuate the superstitions of the populace that he is trying to overcome. • 16. Application Of A Desktop Study Desktop Study A desktop study, as its name implies, can be done entirely from a computer and is often the first step in preliminary site investigations. The process of a desktop study involves correlating background information about the site that will affect the design and construction; from a desk study a large amount of relevant information can be gathered, such as: local context (i.e. what is near to the site, the aesthetic of the surrounding buildings); archaeology (beneath the surface of a site there may be unexploded bombs, remnants of old structures etc.); easements (the rights attached to neighbouring lands, for example right to light); the likelihood of contaminated soil (which we know we do have on our site); site ecology (the surrounding environment and how it coexists together). Having this knowledge of the site before any work has begun allows for easier planning later as obstacles that could have been a costly surprise later can be solved with much better efficiency. The process of a desktop study could also involve looking at OS (ordnance survey) maps of the site which can reveal the previous usage of the site as well as drainage and much more. Geological maps can show what the ground conditions are like on site and if there is any risk of, for example, subsidence occurring or if it already has. Service maps can be inspected to find hidden services, for example telephone cables or drainage. The findings of previous surveys, if they exist, can also be found ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My Breaching Social Norm Experiment For my breaching social norm experiment, I was determined to do something I would never do even if it was a dare, especially since my ability to interact with strangers is not what I consider advanced. So, I decided to make people feel uncomfortable by holding their hand. What I would do is walk up to the person from behind and slowly make my way to their handto make them feel even more uncomfortable. People normally hold hands with their significant other, or with someone they know, like a friend or family member, so to be holding hands with a stranger is infrequent and abnormal. In preparation for starting our experiment, it took my confidant, Carla, and I about an hour to finally initiate the first move. Before even holding hands with strangers my mind was swirling with multiple questions and thoughts, like Why am I even doing this? , I don t appreciate making people feel uncomfortable. , Why is Mrs.Henry torturing me! , Can I just not do it? , and so on. In addition to my thoughts and questions, I felt myself sweating and my stomach felt as if it was in a twisted knot. While I approached my first victim I felt the temperature of my body raise up to boiling point and the color of my skin turn from snow white to lava red in a split second. To make things worse, once I held onto the lady s hand, she was gripping onto mine and was holding on tight, and my reaction was to laugh because when you are in an uncomfortable situation you honestly don t know how to ... Conservatives only support legal immigration and oppose amnesty for those who enter the U.S. illegally (illegal immigrants). Those who break the law by entering the U.S. illegally do not have the same rights as those who obey the law and enter legally. The borders should be secured before addressing the problem of the illegal immigrants currently in our country. The Federal Government should enforce current immigration law to ensure not only our safety, but the illegal activity taking place in our country today. There are other good alternatives to welfare. Private charities can successfully serve the poor. Arnold Kling quotes, Those organizations that work directly with poor people stand a better chance of learning how to meet their needs (Bily, 2009, p 71). He believes charitable organizations are more flexible, accountable, and efficient. The poor would be better served by a new tax policy directing more money to private charities and less to the federal and state government. The role of charitable organizations is better than the government as a source of aid. It is easier for donors or volunteers to hold charitable organizations accountable than it is for taxpayers to hold government accountable. There were reported suicides, loss of sanity and claims that the usage caused discomfort and confusion, instead of peace and enlightenment. The problem soon drew political interest. Skeptical of the scientific medical benefits, the government began to enforce stricter policies regarding research practices. Regardless of the promising developments, the government dictated that there was not sufficient evidence or rationality to the studies. Science demands repeatability, proof and rationality (Alyushin 589). Upon these minds how they tick, how they prioritize, how they view the vectors of change depends on the transmission of know how, technology, capital, and jobs. In addition, as globalization increases, the socioeconomic impact of their thoughts becomes all the greater . This provides a broad cross sample of the global CEO population. Insightful interviews have been collected, which contain lessons from both the brawny companies that have been forced to reinvent themselves, as well as from some of the brainy upstarts that needed to be rather unconventional to gain access to the global playing field. CEO s of top world corporations tell how they handle globalization, customer service, motivation, leadership and other management issues. Gone is the day of the stern looking, tight lipped, antisocial dark suit who sits positioned in the large corner office secured by twelve foot walnut doors with gold handles. Today s workers demand involvement and interaction from upper management, no longer do the babyboomers see fit to have P and L figures discussed between upper management only. • 44. Identity In Shakespeare s Hamlet And Henry V At first glance, the Shakespearean plays Hamlet and Henry V are not similar. This is because they truly are not similar not in genre, since Hamlet is a tragedy and Henry V is a historical play; not in plot, since the protagonist in Hamlet hides in the shadows of conflict while the protagonist of Henry V charges head first into it; and certainly not in tone, where Hamletis disastrous and Henry V is triumphant. It is these dissimilarities of context that make Henry and Hamlet s similarities in identity all the more interesting. Both Shakespearean protagonists are faced with extreme circumstances, and in such extreme circumstances, they both resort to the same human response: they question. In both plays and both characters, Shakespeare seems to explore the depth of such questions as they pertain to human identity and as they pertain to each character s sense of control, thus seeming to pose a question himself: what does it mean to control one s identity? To examine Shakespeare s exploration of identity as a means of control, it is important to understand what all constitutes each character s identity. In the case of Henry, for one, it is apparent that the actions of his past alter his perceived identity throughout the play. Before Henry speaks his first lines in the play, the Bishop of Ely calls Henry a true lover of the holy Church, to which the Archbishop of Canterbury replies, The courses of [Henry s] youth promised it not (1.1.23 24). This reckless reputation follows Henry further into the play when an ambassador from France delivers a message to Henry from the Dauphin: ...the prince our master says that you savor too much of your youth and bids you to be advised there s naught in France that can be with a nimble galliard won: you cannot revel into dukedoms there (1.2.250 254). Along with this message, the Dauphin included a gift of tennis balls meant to further insult Henry. Even later in the play, after the English won the battle at Harfleur, the noble Frenchmen continue to underestimate Henry s ability as a leader: What a wretched and peevish fellow is this King of England, to mope with his fat brained followers so far out of his knowledge (3.8.120 122). Some individuals unconsciously seek directions when challenged with a given issue and know which way to steer because of their moral compass. Furthermore, the moral compass is the soul that guides the personal self, but it is also the non material aspect of a human being that is immortal. Although, the soul s existence is in question, there is evidence that validates that the soul is real. Such evidence includes Plato s theory of the tripartite soul and Sigmund Freud s psychodynamic theory, which reevaluates Plato s theory. Both theories address that the soul s existence is the personality of a human being. On the other hand, many critics claim that the soul does not exist since it is beyond our knowledge; therefore we cannot demonstrate such existence. Hume a philosopher during the Enlightenment affirms this claim under the branch of empiricism, which states that true knowledge, arises from our five senses: touch, smell, sight, taste, and hearing. Therefore, to determine if something exists at least one or all of the senses have to be applied since the material aspects of something demonstrates its existence. Moreover, the reasoning behind empiricism is an addition to Hume s theory of sense perception. The theory is composed of two elements, which are impressions and ideas. ERM also allows multiple people to look at a file at the same time, as opposed to having to wait your turn because your coworker is already using the file that you need.
